More random hcs since yall loved the first one sm
Favorite ice cream flavors addition!
Marvin: Rocky road
- bros too chickenshit to order just chocolate ice cream
- he thinks by there being nuts and marshmallows in it he’s more mature
- so for that reason he likely picks out the almonds
Whizzer: mint chip
- I think he likes all ice cream tbh
- but mint chip is just *mwah*
- Marvin probably tells him it tastes like toothpaste. He responds that he just doesn’t have a sophisticated palette
Trina: strawberry
- she doesn’t struck me as a sweets person tbh
- but she does quite like strawberry ice cream
- gets really excited if the ice cream has bits of real strawberries in it
Mendel: Neapolitan
- bro can’t decide so he gets all 3 major flavors
- secretly prefers the vanilla slightly more but he’s been ordering the same thing for so long he refuses to change it up
- Lets Trina have the strawberry part sometimes
Jason: root beer floats
- lil bro wants the extra sugar
- tried to have root beer flavored ice cream but it just wasn’t the same
- tbh I only hc this because it’s MY favorite. Idgaf that it’s technically not a flavor it’s still ice cream
Cordelia: rainbow sherbet
- it’s fun and bright and joyous!
- does admit every time that she knows it’s not technically ice cream
- gets sad if it melts down into that gross color
Dr Charlotte: butter pecan
- she strikes me as a sophisticated type
- likes to treat herself to some after work sometimes
- I also think she’d like caramel ice cream m
I love making these give me more ideas

for the summer asks, 🔥,👗, and 🍨?💚💜
🔥 - what do you guys do to beat the heat?
Eden is gremlin who loves the heat, anything below major heat wave and they're freezing so Eden is actually just vibing with chips & juice so they avoid heatstroke from being outside all day.
Jacob is more susceptible to heat since he wears dark colors all day everyday, but he loves cold water on hot day so goes showering or swimming if he feels bad. Eden is trying their best to get him to eat properly & have sugar and salt on hot days so he doesn't pass out.
It takes a while but eventually Jacob remembers and is the one to jokingly push Eden to take care of themselves.
👗 - how do you dress for the hot weather?
Eden dresses either shorts + crop top combo or dress. Jacob loves jeans & shirt, unless it's really hot, then he wears shorts & crop top but he still opts for dark colors while Eden favors lighter colors like pastels & white.
Jacob in jean shorts tho..
Easily the best outfit, iconic never seen before, you know what he's all about right here
Of course he keeps his cap but Eden gets worried he's gonna get sun & heat stroke all in one so he has to swear to drink something else than beer & water. Eden too keeps a cap but it's bright bright pink with barbie logo.
Expect some basics & muted color palette, Jacob is literally walking sports logo billboard. Eden drags Jacob to thrifting as a date even when it's hot outside, so he at least gets more items that don't have logo.
He insists to keep small accessories for aesthetic even during heat wave, I HC Jacob can't stand having his wrists bare so he has wristwatches, stolen scrunchies, bracelets.. Anything really.
You wouldn't caught Jacob dead wearing anything but sneakers during summer, same for Eden. They actually wear quite similar clothing styles, just colors & what shirts depict change.
Jacob would have love-hate with one particular summer shirt Eden owns, it's on line with their normal attire, but it has Ghostface on with cheesiest saying & it's bright pink. Jacob hates horror, so any mention of it gets his skin crawling. He loves the shirt due to how big it is & makes Eden look so so cute but he hates it due to horror reference.
🍨 - what kind of summer dates do you guys go on? do you have a favorite?
Omg summer dates post-Hackett's Quarry. Cliche kind, the best.
Beach dates, Eden & Jacob love swimming. Jacob has difficulty diving in when it's deep water, due to seeing the corpse in the lake in Hackett's Quarry, but Eden is okay with shallow water. As long as he doesn't dive he's fine so they both love swim dates. It often leads them to just talking on the sand or Eden reading book while Jacob vibes to music. Peaceful & nice.
Ice cream dates, Jacob loves to take Eden on little stroll to get ice cream, he tries everything that is even mildly new or combo or weird mix. Eden jokes how he won't get kisses if he eats the ice creams he takes but Jacob just kisses their cheek and smiles. Eden is more traditional in flavors, chocolate & caramel ice creams are biggest treats, but vanilla goes too. They're the sweet couple you see holding hands, eating ice cream & giggling outside.
Summer is time thrifting, at least Eden thinks so. Jacob isn't completely on board, but seeing his sugarplum smile is enough. Jacob doesn't have patience to hunt for treasures but he's the driver & emotional support.
Jacob introduced Eden to rollerskating, so rollerskate dates are a thing with them. Eden is wobbly and often tends to fall but Jacob is there catch them. The long gaze after literally falling into their embrace ugh.
Of course being sports fan and athlete Jacob loves sport event dates. He makes sure they're seated in far back so Eden has quick escape from all hustle and bustle. The only sport he doesn't like are racing cars & ice hockey, so all other events are fair game.
Music festival dates! In public with their friends, Jacob doesn't share his music taste with Eden, who likes more pop but away from them on festival, he gets on mood too by listening pop music. He's secret lover of pop. Publicly I think Jacob listens to hip hop and lo-fi.
But as best dates go, both prefer just to hang out together, maybe have music on background and just be, together. Laying on bed, smiling stupidly & thinking how lucky they each got.

Rileys Fish & Steak
Last visit
1/28/2024 Dine out Vancouver

Ginger Pine Fizz
Tart and refreshing, but more of a palette cleanser. 3.75 stars

Appetizer:
Wild Mushroom Soup -
truffle mascarpone cream
candy bacon, fine herbs: smooth and creamy, a little *too* mushroomy for my tastes, but the Mrs loved it.But once you take a spoonful with the candied bacon, the combined flavour simply made sense. 4.25 stars.

Riley’s Winter Salad -
chicory, ricotta, pears, candied walnuts
hot honey fig dressing: yes, it's merely salad. But what a tasty one; I enjoyed every bite. 4.25 stars.

Brioche (not part of dine out, ordered separately):
When you see bread at a high end restaurant that's $10, it's usually a good sign. It does not disappoint; like AnnaLena's amazing torn bread, Riley's brioche is an enormous, decadent, elevated feat of baking. 4.75 stars.

6oz Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin -
whipped potato, winter roasted vegetables
peppercorn sauce:
The steak was good enough to stand on its own, so I was able to use the peppercorn sauce for the incredibly fluffy mashed potatoes. Plus the bacon already acted as seasoning on the steak. 6 Oz doesn't sound like it would be enough, but I was full enough after dinner. The carrots were as buttery as you could imagine.

This would've been a 5 star entrée, but there were a couple of random hits of salt on my plate (tail end of 1 carrot, the broccoli) that lowered it to 4.75 stars. Someone was a little rushed during dine out.
We could've upgraded to wagyu or added fois gras for an additional charge.
Lobster Squash Ravioli -
east coast lobster meat, crispy sage
mushroom, sweet and sour squash:
To quote the Mrs: this is all she could've asked for, for a lobster ravioli. Personally, I would've enjoyed a cream sauce, but everything on that plate was delicious. I don't even like mushrooms on their own, but they managed to even elevate those with a buttery finish & non rubbery texture (it's usually the texture that ruins them for me. But not here!)
The individual, perfectly cooked pieces of lobster were quite generous as well.
5 stars.

Chocolate Cake -
caramel sauce, dark chocolate cremeux
laminated almonds:
The cake was light and fluffy, not too sweet, with the Almond brittle providing the hit of sweetness and crunch. 5 stars.

Lemon Tart
vanilla chantilly, shortbread tart
lemon curd:
Perfect sweetness and tartness, but the vanilla creme on the side was better served with the chocolate cake. Shortbread crust was crispy and buttery. 4.75 stars.
Recommend: everything we ordered.
Overall 9.5/10, 4.75 stars

My Favorite Men and Their Coffee Orders
A/N: Cass ( @mndalorians ) gave me this idea and I have really been mulling it over and I think she’s ready now! I have been a barista at local coffee shops in my city going on four years now, so I like to think I know what I’m talking about coffee wise! Descriptions of drink follows each one for my less experienced babies :)
Poe Dameron - Poe doesn't know what he likes in his coffee, he just likes it sweet. He will come up to the register and make small talk with the barista and pretend like he's really contemplating what he wants and then he will just fall back on the good ol Caramel Macchiato 🤢 God bless him
(Carmel Macchiato : Vanilla syrup, espresso shots, steamed milk, caramel drizzle on top)
Santiago Pope Garcia - Santiago on the other hand, either goes to this coffee shop every morning or has studied the menu at length before hand. His go-to drink is a large cup of medium roast coffee just black, but when it's warmer he will force himself to switch it up and get a cold brew made the exact same way.
(Drip coffee: literally what you make at home with the Mr.Coffee. The only reason to buy drip coffee at a coffee shop would be for the quality or type of bean they’re using. Requires the user to either be an old man, love that specific bean, or be a complete coffee elitist douchebag with a “refined palette” (dont get me fucking going))
Duke Leto Atredies - The Duke has no idea what he gets in his coffee, he just knows that whenever it's brought to him in the mornings it always hits his tongue just right. It’s a moment of peace before the struggle of his day to day duties. The drink has a subtle sweetness that mixes with the commanding aftertaste of a darkly roasted espresso. (His servants make him a regular latte with one packet of raw sugar stirred in at the bottom and a dash of cinnamon on top.)
(Latte: espresso shots with steamed milk on top)
Din Djarin - The galaxy's sweet baby bounty hunter has never really been exposed to anything other than straight up black coffee, so when he's showed all the different options and ways you can combine the ingredients he gets kind of overwhelmed and just shuts down. If he trusted me enough to ask me to make him something, I would make him a small Americano with a dash of cream and a swirl of chocolate syrup. Din is a sweet boy, even if he doesn't want anyone to know about it.
(Americano: espresso shots with hot water)
Javier Peña - Javi baby usually just drinks black coffee when he's at work and doesn't really have the time to discover and explore all the different ingredients and combinations. He needs his coffee fast and quick and he is a grumpy monster until he gets it down. If he asked me to make him something, I would make him a large cold brew with a dash of cream and half pumps of caramel. Javi needs the caffeine and he doesn't have the time to wait and sip something hot. He needs the goods and he needs them now goddamnit. 👀 Half pumps caramel because for as strong and calculated he makes himself out to be, he is just a sweet, weary man on the inside. Let me hug him 🥺
(Cold Brew: drip coffee that is ground coarse and brewed for at least 24 hours using cold water. Brewing this way makes the coffee more concentrated and the flavor more intense.)
Ezra (Prospect) - Ezra makes a Pour Over every morning and you can't tell me otherwise. He enjoys the sweetness that comes from the shorter pull of the beans and it is a ritual of his to measure out the beans, grind them perfectly, and use a scale to measure, and make certain that the cup of coffee he's about to drink is the best this side of the Green Moon. He would never desecrate a hard-earned Pour Over with a dollop of cream, but every now and again he will add a few squirts of honey.
(Pour Over: a very precise way to make coffee, arguably the most controlled method. Beans must be measured out and then ground special. Water must reach a certain temperature and can only be poured over the coffee filter in intervals, resulting in a 5-7 minute prep time. This method usually pulls out the lighter, fruitier notes of the bean whereas a French Press or Drip Pot will bring out the darker notes of the same bean.)
Frankie Morales - Frankie is always frazzled when he goes to coffee shops. There is so much to discover and understand about coffee and Frankie needs to be able to focus. He wants to try all the different things, but he panicked one day and got a small plain cappuccino and accidentally fell in love. He likes that it’s not overly sweet and he enjoys how the foam feels on his tongue. Sometimes he will add some brown sugar to the cappuccino after it’s made instead of requesting it that way, (We stan a thoughtful, caring boy.) but he prefers to make a standard drip pot of coffee in the mornings and be done with it.
(Cappuccino: shots of espresso with 1/4 steamed milk and 3/4 foam on top)
#let me know if you want a part two i guess?#or if you want a specific character i can try my best :')#coffee headcanons#poe dameron#santiago pope garcia#din djarin#javier pena#frankie morales#duke leto atreides#hai writes#ezra (prospect)

Chivas Regal Extra 13 Range Blended Scotch Whisky
let’s begin
All aged to 13 years, the Extra 13 Range is an exciting release from the Chivas Brothers brand.
"new territory"
Chivas have always created brilliant blends and this is a welcome introduction for the brand. They are looking at new ways of maturing their blends to introduce new flavour profiles and new places of exploration.
As Director of Blending at Chivas, Sandy Hyslop says “The Extra 13 collection represents new territory for Chivas as we continue to open up the world of Scotch whisky to new audiences and fresh experiences.
“At Chivas we believe that blended is better – and nowhere is this more evident than with our new collection, which blends exceptional Scotch with a diverse, internationally-inspired palette of flavours.”
The range includes four new blends, all aged to 13 years and matured in different wyas; Rum, American Rye, Tequila and Oloroso Sherry. The four new releases in this range offer fans the chance to really appreciate the masterful skills that the Chivas team have at creating blends.
Check out our tasting notes for each.
Chivas Regal Extra 13 Rum Cask Finished Blended Scotch Whisky
The Rum Casks Finish is sweet and spicy. The nose begins with notes of molasses, dark brown sugar and exotic fruits. it is rich and elegant, without the sweetness overwhelming the flavours.
The palate is bold and bright, with big notes of apricot, citrus fruits and more brown sugar. It has a lovely heat to it that makes the sweetness really enjoyable. There is a honeyed notes in the background, with some hints of oak wood and vanilla.
The finish is strong, with more apricots, peaches and honey.
Chivas Regal Extra 13 American Rye Cask Finished Blended Scotch Whisky
This is not the first blend to be finished in a rye cask, but it one of the best.
The nose opens with typical rye notes of char and paprika spice. It has some wonderful sweet flavours as well. The spice is smooth and goes well with the oak wood notes that come through.
The palate brings in more mellow notes of honey, milk chocolate and smoke. It is smooth and soft, with lots of vanilla and cinnamon spice. The warmth is brilliant.
The finish is extra spicy and sweet, with hints of caramel and malted grains.
Chivas Regal Extra 13 Tequila Cask Finished Blended Scotch Whisky
This blend is good, a nice solid blend, but for me it lacks the tequila influence I had hoped for, like the Mezcal influence on the Dewar’s Ilegal Smooth release that came out the same week.
The nose starts off with delicate notes of pineapple and oak wood. Orchard fruits also appear, with apples and pears coming through.
The palate brings in notes of malted grains, biscuits and more exotic fruits. There is a wonderful zest and citrus fruit flavour that really enlivens this blend. Hints of grapefruit adds a nice note to finish.
The finish is well rounded and sweet, with a hint of caramel and oak wood… just wish it had more tequila influence.
Buy Now
Chivas Regal Extra 13 Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Blended Scotch Whisky
Bottle cost: £35.45
The Oloroso Sherry cask finished blend is the crown in the Chivas Extra crown.
The nose brims with fruit flavours of melon, apples and pears. They are sweet and tangy. This is tempered by a nice spicy sherry note full if cinnamon and ginger.
The palate is excellently sweet, with caramel, vanilla and sweet nuts. Hazelnuts, almonds and syrup go perfectly with orchard fruits. The spice is well developed and adds a lovely heat.
The finish is long and brings in lots of caramel notes.
This range of blends is not to be missed. Chivas are excellent at their craft and this is an exciting new step for them… although I do wish I knew what ‘selectively finished in’ meant is that one cast in a mega batch? Is it 10% of the blend finished in the named cask finish? Is it 50%? We don’t know, but we should.

Their Starbucks Orders - Dawn Faction
Ok, but I’m going to be frank here and say that I probably mixed up the menus. I looked at some Asian ones and the typical drinks here so feel free to correct me if you think any of them don’t make sense.
Finally, Ginnojo sucks. Boy-bye.
Koga Kitamikado

The only reason why he is here is because of MC, Kuya, Toichiro, Yura, Masanobu, some business partner, an elderly lady, a baby or...
Basically, anyone from the city can drag him along. But it’s like his 387th choice when it comes to choosing drink establishments.
He orders.... tea. Yay, Kuya and Yura get another Tea Party Buddy!
Whatever tea matches the blend you give him. It will remind him of you and your cute little sachet.
Secretly wants you to be the barista but then reconsiders upon realizing you could be serving tea to everybody else.
There’s also this seasonal drink - Lemon Yoghurt Fermentation Frappuccino!
According to Starbucks, the beverage puts the limelight firmly on the benefits of fermentation, with three specific fermented ingredients.
There’s rich yoghurt, flavoursome cheese, and a hint of amazake, a traditional Japanese drink made from fermented rice.
Still weak though to him.
Kuya and Yura
Hoo boy. Pinkies out and palms in your face?
I grouped them for a good reason.
Would have probably flown back and forth between various Starbucks branches in various regions AND countries... were it not for Kuya/Yura’s MC saying she would miss him.
Cue both of them losing to the puppy eyes and MC high-fiving Gaku/Koga.
Feels morally obligated to report back to one another on whether the Dark Caramel Coffee Sphere Frappuccinos or the Watermelon & Lychee Aloe Frappuccinos are really as amazing as they sound.
You can bet Kuya is sneering at those ’authors’ who deem it necessary to talk about their novel aloud and make their writing painfully obvious.
True authors come up with ideas while napping on Koga’s or your veranda.
Somehow, the caffeine does Absolutely Nothing?
He has a soft spot for the chocolate drinks to satisfy his sweet tooth and not burn his tongue off.
Low-key had a bonding moment with Yura while sipping with two straws on the same drink.
Yura did survive on fruits for his daily sugar intake so he does have a preference for certain fruity palettes.
BUT. HE. LOVES. THE. JELLY.
So that’s why he would most likely go for the Yuzu Honey Jelly Yoghurt.
His MC is jelly of his love of jelly over her.
Brings back some for everyone... to the point he might as well open up a Starbucks.
“Why, indeed, that is a great idea, Sir Kuya. Let us use Lady MC’s place as...”
“NO!”
Ginnojo
... This idiot, I swear.
Doesn’t give a single hoot about the drinks.
He just goes for all the food.
Like, why? Who the heck pays that much for the Roast Chicken Soba salad?
WHY ARE YOU ORDERING 19 croissants?!
... Babe, there are several other eateries that actually serve this as their actual dishes.
iT’s eXpenSive.
I cannot.
No picture for you because nobody needs to visualise the horror.
NO ONE. NOBODY.
Aoi
Dude, he runs a Milk Hall with Oji (occasionally)
Wait, do we have Milk Halls now? I have never seen one, honestly.
Holy, what if HE is the barista at Starbucks.
The poor man is going to lose his sanity.
Maybe Kuya would purposely order the most complicated drink there.
A red-eye coffee combines a good old cup of joe with an extra something from espresso.
Takes shots (or ventis) of this to tolerate the thing called life as an art student.
Never mind all that extra whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, or caramel sauce— only ChILDren NeEd iT.
The golden eye is used to side-eye Yura and the teal for rolling at Kuya.
There was one drink that did capture his attention.
Their Vanilla Latte has a rich, cosy aroma that just reminds him of baking up a storm... the creamy milk instantly giving off an all-around feeling of warmth...
Milk... cooking...
.... OMG WORK!
So, that’s why it’s only a treat. Poor Aoi.

on poor choices
I know I could sleep if I tried but I don’t want to do that
I’m enjoying myself too much
Having butterflies because my brain is honeycomb, sticky-sweet with my own daydreams is so new but familiar
It’s been a while since I felt like this, and even longer since I let my thoughts run away from me
He’s embedded in that syrupy saccharide that’s dripping down my spine and making me feel warm and high
Him and everything he is
I adore his laugh, like a bell and sharp-- cutting into me and making me want to laugh along
and how he hiccups and sneezes in a funny way, it’s distinct and fun and purely him
and his inhumanly soft, wavy hair; caramel in the light and matching his personality uncannily
I savor his freckles, fresh drops of rain across every inch of his skin
and his features, carved from marble with intent behind every careful chiseling
and he hates the crinkles around his eyes, but I know it as a sign he smiles often.
They’re like the folds in a piece of satin
I cherish his voice, smooth and clear and the edges wrapped in a warm knit blanket
and his warped sense of humor
and how I always laugh when I’m with him
I like how he’s passionate about his interests, his intensity bubbling up through him and igniting his locks
and he’s a good dancer, moving without the fear of this world I know he has
and he’s good company, it feels like I’ve known him in every past life
and he doesn’t like his body, but I love all his patches of light hair and
how you can see him shine in the dark, white chocolate against the
dullness of the dead sky and half-burnt fairy lights bordering my walls
My candied fantasies are ruined with the inescapable reality that this isn’t all for me
Rotting cavities into my pride that someone else gets to relish in him; That he will shower her in all he is unconditionally
But I treasure what we have
And it’s not my place to interfere, especially when she makes him look like that
So I’ll enjoy what I can
I’ll enjoy him laughing at me across a worn school desk, feeling as sweet and forgotten as the freshly stuck bubblegum underneath it
and his funny sneezes and hiccups, and how his nose wrinkles when he gets
exasperated with it
and ruffling his soft toffee locks to patronize him, or in quieter moments running
my fingers through the waves because he’s stressed and needs a moment
I’ll enjoy his freckles, flecks of cocoa turning honey in my orange Christmas lights
and his pretty face, sneaking glances when he’s none the wiser, coating my palette in
sugar
and how his eyes crinkle and I can practically feel the raised folds of satin under
my fingers
I’ll enjoy his voice as he performs at our concerts to countless unnamed faces, looking nowhere in particular yet I’ll believe it’s for me
or when he’s just lazily singing along to a playlist, draped sinfully on the shag carpet
and his horrible jokes just to earn a laugh from someone-- anyone
I’ll enjoy (and admittedly half-listen to) his passionate rants and rambles that engulf his veins in flames and make his mind move faster than his tongue can keep up with
and his dancing while I have his company
and pretending to pay no mind to his vanilla skin as he dons my pajamas
because they’re ‘cuter than his’
I’ll enjoy it because it’s too precious to be upset over not having all to myself
#poetry#writing#poems#love poems#love#crushes#chrushing#made 5-20-18#this isn't anything in particular I just thought it sounded nice

I wanted a little bit of a break from trying out all of the ColourPop palettes and decided to give the Dominique Cosmetics Latte Palette a try. When I brought all of these palettes like a month ago, Dominique Cosmetics had just arrived to Ulta and I wanted to get my hands on the latte palette in the worst way. It was just calling to me with the blue, orange, and neutral tones. Plus everything is named after coffee and have massive pan size for each shadow.
About the Palette
Dominique Cosmetics The Latte palette is designed to work for all skin tones, eye colors, and makeup artistry skills. The palette features ten color shadows for any day-to-night look.
Includes five transitional colors that can be used all over the lid, crease, below the eyes to correct dullness or added as bronzer or blush to the cheeks. Three gorgeous foil shimmer shades that can be used all over the eye, inner corners, as a halo on the center of the eye or as a face highlight. Includes two pops of color that make any eye color stand out! The forumlas are super blendable so you can create soft looks and buildable to an intense payoff that is long lasting and luxurious.
Shades in the Palette
Hazelnut: Matte warm brown with a red undertone
Caramel: Matte light taupe with a cool undertone
Vanilla Creme: Matte muted yellow
Mocha: Matte chocolate brown
Pumpkin Spice: Matte rustic muted orange with red undertones
Espresso: Foil brown with gold flecks
Macchiato: Foil champagne with gold flecks
Creme Brulee: Foil copper rose gold
Cold Brew: Matte deep teal
Double Shot: Matte purple with red undertones
I wore almost every single eyeshadow in this palette for this look minus double shot and espresso. I started out with vanilla creme all over the lid up to my brow bone. Then took Caramel to deepen up the crease, and added hazelnut as well to the crease to give it more depth. Afterwards, I look mocha mixed with pumpkin spice to deep up the outer corner. And ran those two colors under my lower lashes. Next I added a little bit of cold brew mixed with mocha to the outer corner to give it some more definition. Next I took Creme Brulee on my finger across my lid. Then applied Macchiato in the inner corner. After I just used some more Pumpkin Spice to make sure everything was blended together. I used a bit of Wet n Wild Skinny Liquid Liner and Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara to complete the eyes. And used Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Mannequinn to complete this look.
Overall, I really love this palette as it’s so versiatile. I mean Christen Dominique made the palette to work for anyone, plus wanted the shades to be used in more than just for the eyes. She made the shimmers also work for a soft higlight and some of the matte shadows can be used for contour. And double shot as long as you use a light hand can be made into a blush. It’s truly the only palette you would need to take on the go. And I love that about this palette. Plus the shadows applied like a dream which is always a major plus.
Love ya,
Mae Polzine

All Dolled Up: Cathy Doll Nude Me Collection Haul + Review

We all know and love Cathy Doll’s wonderful skincare and bath range, but have you given their equally wonderful makeup line a try? Well, if you haven’t yet, the timing to be acquainted with it doesn’t get any better than now since they recently launched a collection that gives me major heart eyes emoji – the Nude Me Collection.
I’ve been given almost the entire new releases to try out and review (Kob kun ka! FYI, Cathy Doll is a Thai brand), and here are my initial thoughts of them:
From the moment I first HEARD about Cathy Doll Sculpting Highlight and Shading Cushion SPF50 PA+++ (Php749) from an insider (Hello, Madam Nikki!), I knew I wanted it in my life! That’s saying something because I haven’t even seen it in actual yet! And it turns out it's even more gorgeous than I was led to believe. Available in two shades: Fair Skin and Honey Skin, this sculpting cushion (What? I know, I also can’t believe I typed those words) contains contour and highlight sides in such a revolutionary cushion packaging. CUSHION = MIND BLOWN

The product is specially designed to complement cushion foundations (their AA Cushion, perhaps?) and is easy to use and straight to the point. The highlight shades have a pearl finish with beautiful slight shimmers, while the contour ones are matte and warm. Difference in Fair Skin and Honey Skin is really subtle, while I know my swatches above say otherwise, the latter is just a tiny bit warmer when they are all blended out. For the curious cats, the colors don’t transfer to the other side when you press on the cushion. Just don’t do it deliberately.
They also debuted the Cathy Doll Nude Me Eyeshadow Palette (Php499), which comes in three variants: Nude, Pink Champagne, and Smoky. Each palette has 12 shades in different finishes of matte, satin and really sparkly. My first impression was that we have some serious parallels for the Naked Palettes (Naked, Naked3 and Naked Smoky) on our hands with these, and at a fraction of the price. Do you agree?
Anyway, sticking to the product, the shimmery shades swatch really well; good pigmentation, the colors are what-you-see-what-you-get, no issues at all. The satin shades still blend good enough but not as smooth as the shimmers. And finally the mattes, though they deliver in terms of color payoff, they felt a little dry to me. Nevertheless, these palettes are not bad at all. The colors are beautiful! Yes, you need to be patient on the application, but that’s understandable especially when you consider the fact they're wallet-friendly and available at the drugstore.

Up next we have the Cathy Doll Eyebrow Cara (Php199) and Cathy Doll 3D Face Forward Nefertiti Contour Kit (Php299), both of which I haven’t tried yet as I’m saving them for when I have lighter hair and I don’t have a lot of blush-contour palettes open and in rotation anymore. But just so you have complete information, the Eyebrow Cara has five shades: Vanilla Syrup, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Creamy Caramel, and Hazelnut.

Save the best for last! My favorite from the collection has got to be the Cathy Doll Nude Me Liquid Lip Matte (Php399). Oh c’mon don’t act too surprised, you know I love me some good lipsticks. The thick and almost mousse-like formula deserves some high praises; one swipe gives unreal pigmentation, and the colors are on trend and look good on any skintone. If you’re into MLBB shades, I have a feeling that you're going to love this too.

There are nine shades in total, but the six I have here are (top-bottom): True Brown, Nude Brown, Rose Embroidery, Rose Bloom, Moss Rose, and Burgundy Red.
Not your typical drying matte liquid lipstick, the Nude Me Liquid Lip Matte is quite comfortable (not silky and smooth because hey it’s matte) but you can actually forget that it’s there. It also lasts basically my full makeup hours, around 8-ish hours, but still subject to mild crumbling on certain oily food. 5 stars! And how adorable are the Cathy Doll girls that grace the box packaging?
--
Overall, the Nude Me Collection perfectly complements one another. I’m happy to see a never-before-seen surprise and new flairs to the products that are already right up my street. And it’s pretty amazing that the collection generated such positive response – from bloggers and consumers as well. Congratulations and Happy First Anniversary, Cathy Doll Philippines Team!

Today I had a dinner planned with the other guy on secondment. We’ve had it planned since February but we were so busy that late in the program was the only time that would work. I worked from home so that I could leave my backpack at my apartment and only bring a smaller purse I to the restaurant.

It was an 11 course tasting menu at a place called Story which was quite the investment but luckily I had months to plan and budget it. Because of the dinner, I didn’t eat for 22 hours beforehand to prepare. I forgot my phone in the pocket of my jacket which I checked so all these are Jake’s pictures. I’ll post them in order after to follow along.
The meal started off with some snacks: crispy trout skin with a cheese topping and individual carrot tops, a Storeo which was a play on an Oreo that had goats cheese and was more savory instead of sweet, pulled meat (I think lamb) inside a fried batter, and a beetroot tart with horseradish cream and everything bagel seasoning. I liked most of it but the fish skin was a little too fishy for me. I was happy thinking this took up 4 of the courses but apparently this was all 1 course counting as “snacks”.
Next was a tomato and vanilla salad with dehydrated tomatoes, onion, crispy potato blossom, and hybrid caviar in a tomato infused dressing.
Then was a snail ravioli in a lettuce wrap instead of a pasta. The thought of snails is a nope for me but it actually wasn’t too bad.
Next I had bread and dipping which was the weirdest thing ever. The waitress put down a large candle with drippings in front of us and lit it. The candle looked a little weird and it turns out that it was a fat candle which turned into fat drippings to dip bread into when it melted. That was especially weird but it was nice to have bread to dip into sauces for other courses.
Then we moved onto starter courses where I had scallop and cucumber with cucumber ash which was possibly my favorite dish. I really liked the combination of cucumber and raw scallop.
Then was a turbot fish with asparagus and lovage which is a type of plant. It was served with a foam which was a little weird but I still liked it. It was a dish where I liked all the flavors individually.
Next was a play on risotto that was actually celeriac and mushroom chopped and cooked in a celeriac and truffle sauce. It was really good and one of my favorites of the night.
The main course was a lamb and artichoke with some really yummy sauces.
Next there was a bridge course which was similar to a palette cleaner but also nothing like a sorbet or anything to actually cleanse your pallet. Instead it served as a course that was both sweet and savory to bridge from entree to dessert. It was a marmalade sandwich with shaved foie gras. It’s called a Paddington Bear because of Paddington’s love of marmalade sandwiches. It was a little sticky so they also put a glass in the middle and put two tablets in the glass. Then they poured over some warm water and the two tablets sprung up! They were dehydrated washcloths to wash your hands after eating them! You can kind of see them in the background. There were no paw patrol images on the dehydrated wash cloths which was, I admit, slightly disappointing.
On to dessert which was obviously the main thing I was here for. Dessert made up two courses and started with a lemon cream and ice cream. It came with little lemon crumbs you could sprinkle on your dish too which was a nice treat! I really really loved this dish and wish I ended on it.
The second dessert was weirder and was an almond and dill dish. Everything green was dill and everything beige was almond. If you’re wondering if dill is a good dessert flavor, the answer is no. It tasted like a pickle potato chip.
I thought we were done but they also brought out some treats at the end before we left! The red shell is a strawberry and diplomat cream tart which was really good! Then were toffee pieces where you could actually eat the wrapper too! It was made out of gelatin and rice paper so it didn’t taste like anything but it was hard to wrap my mind around eating the wrapper because they look SO realistic. We were the first table to have each course so I really hope someone saw us eating the wrappers and got really confused. It also came with some puffed honeycomb which was actually really good! Next was a truffle with ganache and caramel and ending on a chocolate and mint stick.
We paid the bill and popped one more toffee (and wrapper) in our mouths for a to-go treat! Overall it was a seriously good meal but I won’t be springing for anything that expensive ever again.

Girls’ Night!
Guys, my sister is the cutest person, ever, and she hosted a bunch of us girls last night for a wine tasting. I take ZERO credit for any of the work below (she paired everything, made everything, and even took the photos 😂), but I wanted to take a second to brag on her and also give some of you guys the great ideas she came up with!

1) The first picture is our little home station. She had a water pitcher for us to rinse out our glasses between tastings, and an assortment of crackers to cleanse our palettes.
2) Our first station was Merlot paired with caprese bites and dark mint chocolate. I don’t usually love Merlot, but it was so good with the mint chocolate! Our second station was Cabernet Sauvignon paired with celery, cream cheese, and everything bagel seasoning (OMG so good), as well as plain dark chocolate. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Cab we had (it’s apparently a super recommended one, so I guess I’m just weird), but I’m obsessed with the everything bagel seasoning for life. The last pairing pictured here was a Pinot Grigio paired with smoked Gouda and sea salted caramel.
3) Our next station was a really good Chardonnay (called Canyon Road) paired with Brie cheese (which I didn’t eat) and a white chocolate covered pretzel. I loved this so much. Probably my favorite all around. Then, she had Moscato paired with pepper jack (my fave) and milk chocolate covered pretzels. This one was really good. She said that because Moscato is so sweet, it’s best to pair it with spicy, and it was on point! For the finale, we had a super sweet Niagara paired with Blueberry Chèvre (also didn’t eat) and a wine sundae (vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate wine reduction, and a vanilla bean sugar cookie). This one was really good, too, but I can’t believe how sweet this Niagara was! We bought it at my Bachelorette Party, and yikes! So much sweeter than I remember.
4) Just a close up of the wine sundae. Like I said, she’s the cutest.

Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
Written By: Danyelle V
Us beauty enthusiasts lose our minds whenever Too Faced launches a new line of products. Their themes and irresistibly cute packaging capture our attention and make our hearts race. Instantly we can imagine that product sitting on our vanities for forever. And they will; until another launch and we repeat the cycle all over again. It's vicious beautiful torture that I live for.
Luckily for us, Too Faced's products don't only look cute, they work nicely too. Their products are very easy to use and perfect for the average makeup consumer, like you and me. Your skills can be just below average you will still be able to create any eye look you can think of or borrow from Pinterest and Instagramers.
The Semi-Sweet Chocolate bar is the baby brother to the original Chocolate Bar Palette. It has mostly neutral eyeshadows with little pops of color to make your look stand out. It has a mix of textures, tones, and finishes that will keep you from feeling stunned or stunted when creating. Too Faced is becoming famous for their scented products and this one doesn't fall short. Makeup therapy is now aromatic with the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar. Let's break down the shades by row!
The top row of shadows are the essential shades for a palette of this size complete. These shades can be used to darken, highlight, and blend any look you can think of.
From left to right we have the shades:
Licorice: ashy matte black; the shadow swatches a bit patchy but it's totally workable with a brush. While it isn't the darkest black eye shadow, it is great to darken the crease or as a liner but I wouldn't make it the featured shadow in an eyelook.
Coconut Creme: creamy matte vanilla; so smooth! love that it is a larger shadow because you can get so much use from it
Nougat: matte pinky beige; one of my top three picks from this palette. This is actually the kind of shade I like to use on my browbone. Because I have puffy-hooded eyes, I like more neutral, truly flesh tones on my brow bone. It gives just a kiss of a highlight!
Truffled: warm matte chocolate brown
Hot Fudge: satin blackened brown with purple shimmers; the shimmers fade when blended
The middle row is a mix of shimmers, mattes, topper shades.
From left to right we have the shades:
Cocoa Chili: shimmery dark brown; I wish I could take a picture that would show you the depth of this shade! it's pretty with it's reddish, gold and green reflects.
Pink Suger: sheer base with pink, purple, and gold shimmers: My absolute favorite shadow in this palette. I want 8 of them. I want to fill a Z palette with this shade. Use your finger to apply this shadow atop of any shadow. I have used this as a highlight on my cheeks! I looked like an ethereal goddess and I just can't get enough! Only down side is that this shadow is SUPER fragile. Do not dig at this shadow, it will crumble in the pan.
Puddin': cool mid-tone brown
Blueberry Swirl: shimmery blue; for it being the only true pop of color in the whole palette, it doesn't really pop. Needs a base to really stand out.
Peanut Butter: matte warm brown; Skippy peanut butter in a pan. This is what warm transition shade dreams are made of. I love packing this shade all over my lid and blending it in the crease or even dragging it under my all grungy. I completely understand why Too Faced made a 9 pan eye shadow palette based on this color: The Peanut Butter & Jelly palette, which, of course, smelled of a middle school cafeteria (a PJ&J sandwich, so we're clear.) I was one of those people who thought it was a gimmick and I thought the hype was foolish! Child, I was wrong! It is beautiful!
Frosting: satin cool toned brown
The bottom row has great accent colors
From left to right we have the shades:
Rum Rasin: satin lilac brown
Mousse: neutral light brown
Caramel: shimmery warm gold; very delicate shade. handle with care :)
Bon Bon: shimmer copper
Butter Pecan: champagne gold with, dare I say, a hair of peachiness?: love this one as a cheek highlight as well
This is the perfect palette if you're not super into color but you like your neutrals to be fun. I would recommend this to any person who is interested in playing with some eye makeup for the first time. I would not recommend anyone traveling with this palette. Some of the shades are really fragile and will shatter if mishandled.
Let us know what some of your favorite eyeshadows palettes are!
Comment! Like! Share! We would truly love to hear your thoughts!
Available at Sephora; $49
