I'd rather those people stayed away-the ones that switch sides so easily and are going to come jump on the Jonathan band wagon after hes gone. Yes it sucks sometimes that there isn't a lot of love for Jonathan or Stonathan and not a lot of people to share it with, but its better than being around these fake fairweather ppl that only would like him because everyone else does. Its already bad enough that Jonathan is one of the most hated characters and we STILL have those people that claim to be fans of Jonathan when they're obviously not.

That's what I like-I like the people who are on Jonathan's side when being on Jonathan's side is NOT popular. Because it shows who truly really is on his side. I want friends like you. I don't want these fake people. I want people that genuinely love and understand him not people that just like him because its popular.

I want to be friends with the 'freaks' that don't fit in with the popular crowd and all just like something because its popular. I want people around who genuinely love what I love without me having to convince them.

I'm glad that Jonathan isn't 'socially attractive' and people don't wear rose colored glasses when it comes to him like other characters. Because now we have a better chance of actually finding people who love Jonathan for who he is as a character and not just because they find him attractive. [Even with some ppl claiming to love Jonathan when they really hate him]. We still got a better chance.

Oh definitely-its defintiely about pretty privilege. Look at Billy. Look at Eddie. Look at Steve especially. Billy did way worse stuff than Jonathan ever did but its dismissed. And again this isn't me bashing Billy its just being like wtf to the fans. And its not about them dismissing it period-my problem with this is you can forgive Billy and see the good that he did, but you can't forgive Jonathan and see the good that he did. Keeping in mind that Jonathan has bene a good guy his whole life who barely has done anything wrong while Billy was the opposite for example.

Lets go with Eddie for now--They hate Jonathan for smoking weed and act like hes a monster and say hes like a child abuser [Lonnie] because of it but when Eddie does it hes the coolest person around. And Eddie was selling K too which is a really bad drug, but they don't see anything wrong with that. They do think that Jonathan is a monster though that is irredeemable and can't be forgiven for just smoking weed and dealing with his own problems for once instead of catering to everyone elses problems-that is him being selfish taking care of himself. And no I'm not bashing Eddie, its not him I'm irritated with its the fans. They seriously fry my brain while I'm trying to understand their 'logic'. This is just one example of it

About them calling him ugly-I don't think Jonathan is ugly I think he is so adorable and cute. Yes he may not be hot and muscular like Steve is, but Jonathan is still attractive and adorable and small. I don't like his hair in some of the seasons though it really didn't suit him especially last season and maybe thats why ppl see him as unattractive I don't know. And they're talking about like the eye bags and stuff like that-its like Steve has eye bags too and he has stuff on his face too-everybody has stuff like that. It's just being human. It doesn't make you ugly hideous or rat like ext like they say about him. I don't get why it makes you hideous or whatever and why Steve's facial flaws are ignored while Jonathan's are not. Again clarifying that I dont think Steve is unattractive. I'm saying I don't get why Steve has the same stuff going on with his face that they point out about Jonatahns and Jonathan is gross but Steve is hot. I even laugh because when i got back into ST and was watching S2 I couldn't even tell Jonathan and Steve apart-they both looked so similar and I found them both attractive. And also if they're saying Jonathan is ugly because there are times when he doesn't look his best, like how many times has Steve looked that way. I've seen some really silly looking pictures of him mainly because they fcked up his hair and the first few episodes of ST Steve didn't look his best either. But Steve is hot Jonathan isnt? Dont get it. But I'm saying if thats the reason why they keep calling Jonathan ugly then I just don't get it because its the same thing with Steve. There are plenty of moments where he doesn't look attractive either but those are ignored and Jonathan's flaws are hyper focused on.

alright time to write an essay detailing whatever yaoi has done to my girl nancy wheeler. so like, even when it comes to yaoi shippers nancy has had stonathan, harringrove, AND steddie over four seasons with steddie already having massive popularity + the other shippers, wheras thankfully eleven only has to deal with byler shippers when it comes to the victimization. but not to diminish eleven any more because she has def gone through it in fandom, im going to get into nancy's stuff: you will notice all three ships she supposedly gets in the way of (ignoring jargyle because the shippers are chill in my experience) involve steve harrington, AKA the most popular character if i had to guess and the white boy of the month. see, they were dating at one point in s1 and s2. the breakup was messy. like he kinda was complicit in her slutshaming at one point and didnt let her grieve her dead best friend properly and she ambiguously (as in nobody can fucking decide when the break up was) cheated on him so yeah. messy. mutually. if not more on steve's side given he was a bit of an asshole in s1-2 but gets better. yadda yadda fast forward to harringrove in particular, AKA steve x the guy who attacked a black child and abused his younger sibling (and im not attacking anyone thats just. what happened). basically 90% of them try to convince people nancy is abusive for the two arguments that occurred and is a slut and privileged (never mind steve being probably the most well off member of the main cast + hes a white guy in the 80s) blah blah blah. also ironic they call her abusive OFTEN when billy (one half of harringrove) kinda like threatens his sister max and breaks her things and otherwise abuses her Often. but yeah. they hate her for breaking his heart. they hate her for getting in the wya of their ship possibly. they hate her in general. add that to the general fandom misogyny and suddenly a large number of people are writing essays about how much they hate her and how she's a piece of shit, actually. fast forward to s4 and steddie and a new problem arises: steddie shippers keep flooding her character and ship tags with primarily steddie. so now your options regarding her are mlm ships and mlm shippers shitting on her. also keep in mind there is now more content for half of that ship, a guy who shows up for an hour and dies in the same season, than nancy, a mc. and if you like nancy ships like jancy or ronance, too bad those tags are flooded as well. as in someone did analytics in august for ronance i think and at one point the majority of main pairings in the ronance ao3 tags itself was steddie. either way both ships usually end up as side ships or bait into a steddie centric fic or tumblr post. or nancy ends up third wheeling and getting them together. as a nice bonus (not really) recently steddie shippers have decided that they too hate nancy and have entire posts and common plots (i have seen tumblr ficlets/hc's and people discussing this as a common trope for steddie fics on ao3) about how nancy was a horrible person who damaged steve's self esteem and ability to be in a relationship or something from a break up, as if the relationship wasnt mutually harmful and compounded by nancy's whole dead best and possibly only friend thing. and whoops for ships like ronance that isnt allowed either because steve's friend isn't allowed to interact with his ex despite the fact that said friend literally said he was an ass in the s1-2 timeline. all of this making it impossible to find any positive content without it being interrupted for a character who, if i remember correctly, has almost as much screentime as eleven (and eleven at least has popular fan content and other ships that dont somehow loop around to byler/mike). and whats worse is that while canon doesnt have yaoi victimization it does have heteronormative bullshit in which she is forced into a love triangle with the same guys TWO TIMES. she literally cant win so let her win a poll maybe also sorry this is super fucking long <3

Stranger things teens ship analysis

disclaimer: I can’t write about all the stranger things ships in one post, so I have another post about stranger things kids ships (Byler, Lumax, etc.), and am also planning to make one about the adults.

Jancy: Jancy was really cute up until season 4. Then their relationship became kinda toxic. But in all the other seasons I definitely shipped them, and I’m pretty confident that they are an endgame ship. Rating: 6.5/10

Stancy: I’ve never shipped Stancy, and I don’t think that the duffers want us to either. They were clearly just used as a prop to get Jancy going, and they were quite a toxic relationship. Steve and Nancy are better off with other people, and I hope that Steve will realize that like Nancy did. Rating: 0/10

Ronance: The idea of Ronance is cute and I ship it about as much as I ship Jancy, but I don’t see it becoming canon because Robin and Vickie both canonically like eachother, but who knows, I wouldn’t mind much if I were wrong 🤷. Rating: 6/10

Jargyle: Jargyle is awesome, and I love it. I ship it about as much romantically as I do platonically, and you guys are really out here doing gods work with the fanwork. I don’t see it becoming canon because it’s pretty clear that they are just besties, but I’d love it if it was. Rating: 7/10

Stonathan: to be honest I don’t see the chemistry at all with this one, but the idea of the ship is cute. And I mean, Steve was pretty chill with the fact that Jonathan literally slept with his girlfriend in season 2. Rating:4/10

Steddie: I liked Steddie at first, but Steddie fans have kinda ruined it for me. A lot of them are either Eddie stans/simps, or fujoshis, both of which are a red flag. The ship it’s self is really cute, but some of the fans are problematic and we all know that if one of them wasn’t white there wouldn’t be nearly as many fans, I mean look at them compared to jargyle, both are healthy ships, but only one has a large amount of creepy fans, and yet that one has WAY more shippers. I think that that’s a little suspicious. (Also I’m aware that there are plenty of normal Steddie shippers out there, I just think that there are more problematic ones than there should be.) Rating: 4/10

Stobin: NO. NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. ROBIN IS A LESBIAN. IF YOU SHIP STOBIN ROMANTICALLY, GET OFF MY ACCOUNT. Rating: -100000/10

Rockie: (is that the ship name for Robin and Vickie?) I don’t have that much of an opinion on this ship, but it’s pretty cute I guess. My only problem with it is that I wish that they had given Vickie more screen time or introduced her earlier in the series because it’s hard to me to care about a ship when I hardly know anything about one of the characters. I feel like that was kinda bad writing on the duffers part, but that’s my only problem with it, other than that it’s fine. Rating: 6/10

Buckingham: The fanwork for this ship is everything, but they literally have zero moments together. I get why people ship it though because the dynamic would be cute. Rating: 5/10

Chrissy x Jason: (what is the ship name for this????) Jason really cared about Chrissy, but they barely got any time together on the show, plus Chrissy was giving me lesbian vibes so- Rating: 3/10

Harringrove: Billy was definitely a simp for Steve, but Billy was rasist, abusive, and just a terrible person in general and Steve deserves a lot better. Rating: -100/10

Barb x Nancy: where is the hype for this ship?? It’s so cute! Barb wasn’t alive for very long so I don’t have that much to say on the ship, but i definitely shipped them while she was alive. Rating 7.5/10

Hellcheer : I didn’t see any chemistry for this tbh. They interacted once, when Chrissy tried to buy drugs from Eddie and then got vecnaed. I just dont see where people are getting a romantic relationship from, I guess. Rating 3/10

My hot takes in general uh

Okay so idk if this is a hot take but I get spitting mad when people insinuate they don't need lifeguards at the Olympics. Just. Incandescent rage inside me. Because they do! If anything goes wrong, no one else is going to know how to do it in the water. Yes they're the top athletes in the world but that won't save you if you have an aneurysm in the pool, or if a diver hits the water wrong, or any number of things that could go wrong in a pool. It's like seat belts. They're there in case shit goes wrong but hopefully nothing does. (Also to yell at you if you run on deck ffs DONT) stop writing articles about how silly it is to have lifeguards at the Olympics oh my god you look stupid and don't know anything.

As for. Not the irrational offended rage about that. Uh.

You're probably here for stranger things stuff so...idk if it's unpopular but I actually adore the stancy break up. Just. I love it so much. I eat it up. I love how it informs us about both their characters and how they process things and react to things. I love how messy it is! I love how unclear it is if things are done or they just had a fight.

I how Steve reacts to it, and how it shows how he tried to process Barb's death and tried to help Nancy, but wasn't able to even if they had properly communicated (which they didn't because they were 16/17 and traumatized) and that them together wasn't help each other. I love how Nancy tried to pretend so hard she was fine but she wasn't, pretending and leaning on Steve as a steady presence even when she didn't have feelings for him anymore, and knew it. She was lying to him and trying to lie to herself and it didn't work and they both got hurt because of it. I love that they break up and like. The same day(?) Or the next day she immediately goes on a road trip with Jon and sleeps with him, all while Steve is going to her house to apologize even tho he doesn't know what for. I love that. I love the mess of it. The tangled feelings. I love how Steve is so clearly heartbroken about it but sends her to help Jonathan.

I also think it was the best possible writing decision they could have made. Like yes conflict and drama etc but also. Showing us what they both do when they love someone/don't actually love someone. I love mess.

And while I think no endgame romance for Steve is Best Ending for canon, (and also joke about making it a true love triangle with stonathan. Rip stonathan we hardly knew ye) I...might not completely hate stancy in S5. Like. if Nancy and Jonathan broke up, and Nancy and Steve had another chat (okay I LOVE the six nuggets thing. Steve wanting a little domestic dream is so cute) about feelings and things, I think it might work. I think the actors could get it to work, at least.

Also I think if Mike isn't having weird uncomfortable gay feelings for Will he's just being an asshole to his friend. But I don't think that's a hot take I think that's just media literacy tbh.

I have been drawing digitally since I was 8 (traditionally even longer), it's well into the thousands. Maybe even tens of thousands.

I have no idea, I just know my most liked piece is a tie between a P5 valentines day comic and a really old Buzzfeed Unsolved shitpost.

As fucked up as you may see this, honestly, a big reason is I like the attention. I like interacting with people who find something in my work, it's nice and I like the validation, sue me.

I like to draw on the couch, or in bed. I used to draw in the most uncomfortable position ever, which was on my fucking stomach with a pillow under my jaw. Pre-iPad, I drew at my desk with my Wacom Bamboo tablet. And it depends! Sometimes I'll listen to music, other times I'll put on a YouTube essay or something. Beforehand, I work out a few thumbnails, then open Safari or Pinterest for references. :P

I'm glad you understand the gate keeping because everyone else including friends are like stop gate keeping and I can't even when trying to stop I can't.

They're like we need more Stonathan fans we need more Jonathan fans because there isn't enough-its like hell no. If you need to be so heavily persuaded to care about someone or something do you really care about that? No. I also want people who are smart enough to realize on their own that Jonathan has never been a monster and has been a good guy all this time. If you need someone to dumb it down for you and you have to be spoon fed all this information to understand it, then I don't want to interact with you.

Regarding Steddie, I totally get it, I don’t really hype it as much myself. I love Steve and I love Eddie but I like them as friends. I do like mlm Steve and mlm Eddie hcs, and I can appreciate well-crafted fan art, I just personally don’t necessarily pair them together that’s all 😅

I am a Stonathan shipper so ik I’m biased, but hey, I understand Steddie’s hot rn, the why, and it is what it is, etc.

Another reason for me is being a little turned off due to how certain parts of the ship’s fandom treated Chrissy’s actress. Now, I will respect other Steve ships and their fans from my own lane and I understand why people are very protective of Eddie. But I know bc there’s a large and growing fanbase, there’s larger chances of encountering the more extreme shippers out there, and I don’t fw the kind of energy of a fan that harasses actors because they ship Eddie with someone else. Steddie fans who don’t do that are good in my book tho

I wholeheartedly agree, like steddie is truely just meh to me in the canon context, now fanart and fanfic i do enjoy on occasions

but i didnt know that they where disrespectful to chrissy actress (which sadly is to be expected) which is like, fuck all yall who do that

but like i’ve had told people tell me that chrissy x eddie dont make sense which is baffling to me
