Alien Stage rarepairs all have their charm, but nothing hits like two mentally unwell boys with complex trauma. I know some people like them fluffy and some people like them filled with tension, but I love them in all settings. Would I ship them in canon? Heavens, no. Do I start losing it whenever something new drops on their tag? Yes, absolutely. The thing is they fit each other and compliment each other on all levels. Canon them were so similar they had to be consciously differentiated. Actor AU them are close.

Don't get me wrong and think I only mean romantic. Imagine queer platonic IvanLuka huhuhuhuhuhuhuhhhh the possibilities are endless these two sick bitches and funny lil guys need to be put in a jar and SHOOK

I'm so so so sorry for having this rot in my inbox but this is SO insanely real. In Canon I don't think ivanluka would work AT ALL, but through an analyst's goggles as someone who plays with characters like dolls? It's just such a delicious ship. Call me a sicko but it's a perfect balance of "aw they're the same but different!!" And "OH. THEY'RE THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT. FUCK" and it's wonderful. Theoretically they might actually be able to make it work in another universe, but with the way their stories went in this universe it sure as hell won't work here. And that makes me so insane because it has THIS but is in NO WAY a doomed ship. There was never anything between them to begin with . It's just a back and forth with your own twisted reflection. Let's be real here, I'm coming out as someone who likes them concept-wise more than ivantill (overall, and Canon, I LOVE ivantill, but when it comes to the concept of the two of them Ivanluka sends me reeling). Even their color schemes are positively wonderful and every time I see a new fic of them on ao3 I go crazy. Call me a fanboy/girl but it's true. They make me so happy.

I was surprised that there are people who ship Sandy with other bachelors/bachelorettes, and I loved it

There is actually so much Sandy coming because I got an influx of her in my inbox lol get ready for the Sandy ship flood everyone! By the end of this I'm gonna have such a good grasp on her character.

Catch this stunning bisexual dragging her straight boyfriend around pride next year making everyone wonder what she sees in him and his crocs. And no she’s not gonna fix him and make him dress pretty and everything, she knew what she was signing up for and likes her a scrunkly man pet.

She loves his deadpan humor. She loves the bags under his eyes, and how flustered he gets when she showers him with praise. He turned so red when she first called him sweetie (bc she calls everyone that) that she expanded her vocabulary of pet names just for him. After a while it wasn’t so much him getting flustered as just getting the smallest little shy smile out of him, and Sandy would go crazy for it and pinch his cheeks out of cute aggression.

Sandy has gotten a taste of the fabulous life working for Mr Qi in the desert, but she loves the simple beauties the valley has to offer. And Shane is the epitome of that. He has a family, a simple life with a passion for ranching and she adores that about him. She loves visiting him and getting a glimpse of what their future could be like.

And actually she was very nervous to meet Jas. Shane is shocked, “But everyone loves you, Sandy.” It’s so unlike her to be nervous.

She clenches his hand hard. “It’s just really important to me.”

He kisses her on the forehead and wraps her in his arms and it’s so comforting she never wants to let him go.

Jas absolutely adores her of course, Sandy is like a barbie come to life with her long shiny hair and pretty outfits. It turns out she’s really good at playing dolls, even better than Shane, though Jas still forces him to play with them.

And it’s then, while Sandy is giving a dramatic monologue in a silly voice that it clicks for him that this is real.

It just always felt like some big joke the universe was playing on him. It was laughable to think he’d ever deserve someone like Sandy. He’d always just been waiting for her to get tired of him, or find something else out about him that would spell their end. But it never came. Maybe she really was here to stay.

Everything clicks for him in that moment and he knows he has to ask her to marry him.

Favourite Underrated Ship? Simple answer: Every single Pete rarepair! -> PorschePete? Iconic! Brilliant! Phenomenal! Most people love "best friends who kiss", I love "secret third thing". However one enjoys them, though, they're delicious to consume😌 (You might think it's not an underrated ship, but I'd like to inform you that it has, in fact, less than 100 fics on Ao3, so it very much is in my book. Oh please, the power dynamics make me giggle like a 10 year old girl playing with Barbie dolls. You mean the ship that shares so many similarities with VegasPete, while still having its own identity based on the differences between Kim and Vegas? You mean the love of my life? (Again, fics for this one are almost non-existent, which is a shame, but understandable. One day, I'll manage to enrich the tag. One day.) -> TankhunPete? Take KinnPete's fucked up power imbalance and twist it in a more peculiar direction. What you get is this ship, which makes me so uncomfortable but so, so intrigued. (Incredibly underrated with how few fics it has, but a special thanks to this one for altering my brain chemistry when I first read it.) -> BigPete? Rivals who might engage in hate sex from time to time? Pals who share the same fate and understand it and bond over it? Pick your poison and roll with it, because it's delicious either way. I'm personally team "They hate each other" because it's more fun that way 😉 (Almost nothing here again, which is a shame, but again understandable. I had forgotten they shared 2 lines of dialogue together in the show, I deadass thought they never talked to each other, which was great for me lol. Here's one fic written by the same person who wrote the KinnPete one, in case you'd like something cool to read.) -> TayPete? This one's for pure aesthetic reasons because have you seen Tay, have you seen Tay at the auction, have you imagined Pete and Tay fucking at the auction, because I surely have 🙂 It's such a gorgeous image, I lose focus for a hot minute when it comes to me. (This one's tricky, because most people write Vegas/Pete/Tay, which is a glorious choice and I support it, and my talented friend is writing a very good VPT fic, but I'd love it if there were more fics that focus on these two only. They're too powerful, I can't get enough.) I think those are all the ones I'm personally obsessed with. All I have to say is, Pete deserves all the beautiful men and what they'd like to do with him ❤️

GIGGLES. it is literally just me n my fucking rarepairs ONCE AGAIN. ever since i started this au with leonid there was this idea bubbling in the back of my mind for MONTHS where even though i had already established shadomega with their whole DAUGHTER i was like "haha what if silver was crushing on this married couple with a kid." AND THEN IT WOULDN'T LEAVE.

being a time traveler would get a bit lonely sometimes! it was hard having to just Wait for whatever next disaster during his time to send him back to the past so he could fix it and see his friends along the way, but then as he grew well into adulthood it. stopped happening. he's just in his own time now, but the state of it still doesn't... look the best? however, it doesn't take too much time for shadow and omega and rusty the chao to come along... with a cyborg baby in tow. silver soon becomes her cool "uncle" and ends up finding a home for himself in this weird little family. the kid continues to grow and he works alongside his friends to save the future (well, the present) from sage and - uh oh. what's that funny feeling in his stomach.

he feels AAWWFUUULLLL LMAOOO he's like FUCK!! GOD DAMMIT!!!! I FINALLY FIND A PLACE WHERE I BELONG AND THEN I GET NOT ONE BUT TWO DUMB CRUSHES I'M A GROWN ASS MAN IT'S OVER!!!!! meanwhile he has no idea shadow and omega do not care. he knows they have a deep respect and appreciation for him as he does with them, but what he doesn't know is. they also find him cute. wanna give him a kiss mayhaps. all this time he's spent raising their daughter with them... it's hard not to feel endeared and for new feelings to fester. to spend forever with someone is a long time, and hey, maybe your heart grows some room for more during that time.

i could not tell you how exactly it goes down but stuff happens and silver gets to kiss them!!! yahoo!!! yayyy!!!! he gets reassurance like You Are Not Intruding You Are Literally Part Of This Family We Promise. leo calls you an uncle but she probably sees you as a third dad to be honest. not much else changes though and everyone's fine with it! silver gets to kiss and cuddle shadow and omega and leo honestly doesnt care and makes fun of him for his situationship a little bit because she loves him. leonid and her dads and chao godparent and her cool uncle who's also lowkey her dad but she doesn't care to differentiate it. i have these silly discord screenshots from a few months ago because my mind was conceptualizing both silver's situationship and leonid/limestone at the same time

Retrospring is going down, so there's not much point to keeping my carrd up any longer. This was like the only thing I had on there, so I decided to move it over and use the opportunity to talk more about these guys! Ships will include ortho, incest, age gaps, ect. Any first year combo I include Ortho here! And I like them as just a polycule too. They're a very sweet friend group and I always enjoy seeing them interact with one another

I also love seeing Ortho with emotionally unstable characters. In a darker au, I'd see him gaslighting them into thinking they're dependent on him, like his older brother

Malleus/Riddle I like their interactions in Malleus' union birthday card and in Riddle's ghost marriage card. Another character I think would be super overwhelming to Riddle, but also, he respects Malleus a lot and could easily build a very sweet dynamic with him!

Jade/Trey I'm devastated this fic may have been deleted because I was going to link it here, but it completely convinced me of these two </3 I just want Jade to manipulate Trey into being weirder

Ortho could truly be an equal to Malleus, in a lot of ways, especially when time passes and their long lifespans become more apparent. They could fight each other and fuck nasty too. I used to have Malleus as the dom here but it could be either, and I like it when Ortho tops a lot so I switched them

Malleus/Silver MY OTP my bread and butter my everything. They're the only ones I can ever seem to write fic for!! They're the opposite of each other, they're the same, they're brothers, they're prince and knight, they're going to kill each other, they're going to love so sweetly, they're going to fuck nasty. Love love love love them I hope you always know that I am obsessed with them like nothing else

Ozpin was used to Roman's nightly breaks. Leaving their bed to head to the balcony to get some air. At least that's what he claimed, but Ozpin knew there was more to it. Most nights are fine. He can handle it. He can handle the warm left of the bed slowly growing colder until Roman came back to pull him right back into his arms. It was routine.

But tonight was...different, to say the least. Nightmares never play fair, and comfort doesn't come easy to cold sheets and a chilly back. So, Ozpin wraps the blankets around his shoulders and shuffles off to the outside where he knows his lover sits.

Just as expected, there Roman stands, leaning against the wall, sitting on the cold concrete. Winter in Vale can be cruel, but Roman either wasn't awake enough to realize how cold it was or simply didn't care. He sat there in his pajamas and brought the cigar between his fingers back to his lips. Ozpin stands in...not shock. It's not shock, but it's not...not surprise, either. He had a feeling this was what Roman was up to on his nightly breaks, but to see it in person felt more...obvious. A sign he chose to not seek out.

"Those are bad for you, you know." Is Ozpin's first word, making Roman jolt at the sudden interruption of his silence before letting his shoulders relax.

That stupid smirk Ozpin fell in love with graces Roman's tired face. "I wouldn't be doin' it if it were good for me." He teases. "Criminal mastermind here, Ozzy. What're you doin' outta bed, anyways? You look exhausted."

He feels exhausted, but that's not the point. Ozpin shakes his head. "Nightmare. Couldn't fall back asleep. Not without you, at least." He says quietly. When Roman opens an arm, Ozpin easily settles into his side, sitting next to him with the blankets covering his seat so he doesn't need to feel the concrete below. Even with the blankets around his shoulders, Roman's side, his arm, it's more comforting then anything else. Ozpin easily leans into his warmth and sighs.

"Well aren't you sweet." Ozpin pouts as Roman presses a kiss to the top of his head. One day he'll hit his growth spurt, then he won't be laughing anymore. "You wanna talk about it? It's fine if you don't."

Gods no he doesn't want to talk about it. If anything, Ozpin could kill to erase every single memory of Atlas he has. So instead, he simply shakes his head. "...not tonight, please." One day he'll tell Roman. About everything. About what he had to endure. But that day is not today.

Roman, thankfully, nods in acceptance. "Fine by me." He brings the cigar back to his lips, drags slow and deep, and lets the smoke bellow out of his mouth. "You don't gotta tell me anything. I'm always here for you either way." Ozpin always liked these moments. The rare private ones where Roman is able to be sweet with him. It warms his heart and makes him snuggle deeper into his side.

But his shoulders are still tense, and his back is still straight, and there's a shiver that doesn't come from the cold making Roman tighten his grip on Ozpin just a tad in hopes of scaring that fear away. It doesn't, but you can't fault the man for trying.

He knows Ozpin's like this after nightmares. All the time, he gets stiff and shaky until he's able to fend off his own demons. And since Roman can't just listen to him, hear what truly goes on in that head of his, he can at least try one thing.

"You want a hit?"

Ozpin whips his head over to Roman, who holds up the cigar expectantly. "...do I what?"

Roman smirks at him. "A hit, babe. A drag. Whatever you call it." He wiggles the cigar between his fingers teasingly. "Why do you think I smoke? Calms me down. Helps me relax so I can head back to bed. You look like you could use it." A pause as the smirk slips off his face. "You don't have to. I'm just offering."

Ozpin pauses, looking away as he thinks on it. Really thinks on it. All his life he was told smoking was bad. That's just to be expected. And Roman's coughs aren't...the best when he does have them. But anytime he comes back, he smells like nicotine and it's becoming so comforting to the silver haired Necromancer, and he always sleeps easy, barely even a twitch in the night. It clears his mind, at least that's what Ozpin's gathered. So maybe...

"How do you do it?" He asks, feeling a little stupid when Roman chuckles at the question. Though, that changes when he sets the cigar between his lips for him.

"Breathe in through your throat." He can do that. He can totally do that. Ozpin does as he's asked, slowly breathing in. The smoke feels thick and there's a tingle in the back of his throat. "As deep as you can." He keeps going until he feels lightheaded. Before he can think of coughing it all up, Roman uses a hand to close his jaw. "Hold it. Just a little longer, babe." The holding isn't all that fun, admittedly, but he can almost feel the smoke drift further down into his lungs. How unsettling.

Finally, Roman releases his mouth, letting Ozpin cough it all up into big cloud-like piles of smoke that drift off into the sky. Roman can't help but laugh, making Ozpin hit his chest offendedly as he tries to get rid of the invading feeling in his lungs. "You-!" Cough cough. "-are so-!" Cough cough cough. "-RUDE!"

Roman snickers still, even when Ozpin calms down. "Sorry! Sorry! I didn't mean nothin' by it, doll." He shakes his head. "Don't worry, I was the same way when I started. It gets easier."

That's...a tad unsettling. Your body adapts to the constant nicotine. It makes it easier for you to continue the addiction. The habit.

Even still, Ozpin sighs and holds his hand out. "Let me try for myself."

They spend a good ten minutes like that, Ozpin leaning against Roman, guarded from the cold of the world and the cold of his memories as he holds the cigar close to his lips, breathes in, and breathes out. It's a horrible habit, he knows that, but Gods only know if he'll ever be able to kick it. This is the calmest he's felt in years. And his sleep once they return inside, cuddled up together under the chilly blankets, is practically perfect. No dreams to be seen. Just a quiet, dark, empty sleep.

The next morning, Roman leaves a few cigars on the bedside table. An offering. A gentle nudge, but not a push. Not a force. Ozpin could always leave them behind for Roman to gather up for himself later.

Instead, he heads outside for a morning smoke and forgets his worries all over again.
