🗨️ omg this was so fucking amazing 😭✨ The characters are amazing in this, there’s cute backstory, details and the sibling bond is top tier, and the chemistry between oc and Jungkook is so fucking good! The tension is perfect and I love the slow burn 🥰 I feel this was also a bit on the existential side, which I really love. Like the dialogue had me thinking about my own life! I love when that happens! And it was so fun reading about siblings, and I’m missing my own baby sister right now. Anyway, it was exceptionally good! Amazing! 💯 And there’s a mention of Jungkook’s glazed potato incident you can’t miss! It was so fun (both this and the run episode 😂). Can’t recommend this one enough!!

📝 bringing Jungkook along as your date to your ex’s lavish cruise wedding seemed like a perfect idea at first — all of your family and close friends together, nothing can go wrong… then Jungkook’s ex shows up and all of a sudden you’re in a years long relationship with him. You don’t mind though, really, how hard can sharing a cabin and pretending to be deeply in love with your best friend really be?

🗨️ I seriously can’t recommend this one enough! I love longer stories because it gives a chance for the characters to develop better! And this does that perfectly; even the minor/background/supporting characters have such a deep and rich story it’s just brilliant!! 💎 And the relationship between oc and Jungkook? 🌶️ Delicious tension, having to pretend to be a couple, when you’re practically already a couple, but haven realized it yet? 🤭 It is just perfect!!!

Lilies and Tulips!

Summary! Joost and reader go for a picnic but end up going flower picking and reader explains the hidden meanings behind certain flowers 🌷 :3

Notes! Nothing much but tooth rotting fluff, reader and Joost are in an established relationship, long term. Reader is bi and a past gf is mentioned- like once.

A/N! Oh em gee!!1!1!!!! I am literally on a writing spree so that means I’m gonna get writers block soon 😒 anyways enjoy per usual!

It was a beautiful, sunny day when the two of you decided to go flower picking in the nearby park for a little date. The date was an out of the blue thing as the Dutch weather was and still is known locally for being unpredictable so the two of you were going to make the most of it. And so, the two of you picked your favourite park in the area, quickly packed a picnic basked and went out.

Luckily, the weather held up letting the two of you enjoy a nice evening outside, having a little date.

“Mmh, thank god the weather’s holding up, it’s like a once in a lifetime opportunity!”

A small giggle left the both of your lips as Joost passed you the sandwich the two had a fuss whilst making all over the toppings, typical Joost.

“Oh, I know right! I feel zalig, holy even.” (zalig=blessed)

A light chuckle escaped from the both of your lips, you knew you wanted to savour this moment, the both of you were extremely lucky in your life. Both in your love life and your career, you led a successful career in the department you were in; letting you do things like this almost daily. While Joost, you already knew- everyone did: he was a celebrity, from being unfairly disqualified landing him in the spotlight, good and bad. Though, the two of you were heavily great full for his extremely supporting fan base, letting the two of you live in peace without the fear of being ostracised.

The two of you noticed that the park was fairly empty, so it meant that you could enjoy it a bit more: a few kisses here and there wouldn’t hurt anyone, would it? And so, you looked at Joost to check whether he was comfortable enough knowing that the paparazzi could and probably would snap a few photos. Luckily so, he was completely fine with it.

You took your cue and placed a few pecks on his face, a small smile on your face as you did so. Once you started pulling away, Joost lunged forward and pulled you into a long, fulfilling kiss; your lips interlocked, your hands got hold of his long luscious hair whilst his hands snaked around your hips, pulling you closer. You two felt interlinked, interlinked didn’t even feel like a strong enough descriptor for how the two of you felt!

By the time the two had started packing away, Joost’s phone started blowing up with notifications, which was really aggravating to the both of you. So, you suggested to go flower shopping at the local florist’s as you needed some new flowers as the ones in your vase had to been thrown away the other day as they had died.

Once the two of you arrived at the florist’s you were greeted by a great smile and lots of positivity from the cashier, one who you had grown close to across the years. You had started to come to this particular florist when you were with your lying, cheating ex! Thankfully you caught onto her actions but you knew that Joost wouldn’t ever do something as diabolical as her.

The two of you wandered around the packed shelves, Joost teasing you by pressing gentle kisses on your neck here and there when you weren’t paying attention. You and Joost were often viewed as a picture-perfect couple, and they couldn’t be more right! It was clear that the bond between you two was quite literally unbreakable which was the reason that the media tried stirring lots of rumours up, just because they were jealous.

Once you picked up a bouquet of Lilies and Tulips up, you handed them to Joost, unsure if he knew the symbolism behind them.

“Do you know what it means? You know… the flowers?”

You looked at him, a giddy smile as blush crept onto your cheeks; it felt like you were a teenager once again, hiding under the bleachers trying not to get caught by any teachers. A response you were anticipating from him, more preferably verbal but instead he lightly shook his hand before pressing his lips onto yours. Until he pulled away, properly responding, and so, wish a hushed voice he spoke.

No, schat, what does it mean?

A long deep breath escaped your lips, you didn’t even feel it and yet you were so stressed about telling him this even though you two had been together for the longest time, at least that’s what it felt like. It’s not that you were complaining though. You had gulped before speaking, practically ranting, explaining that the flowers represented deep requited love; exactly what the two of you had felt over the time that you were together.

“So, uhm, that’s what they mean. What a cringe-fest, hm?”

I let out a small laugh at my self deprecating joke to see him looking at me, tilting his head in confusion before speaking.

“Cringe? You’re just expressing your love, lieverd.”

You looked at him with starry eyes before pressing your lips onto his as a little thank you for his positive affirmations; his own lips locking onto yours, pulling himself even closer to yourself. You were going to continue the kiss, but you realised that the cashier was probably uncomfortable with the amount of pda you two were doing. And so, you gently picked up the bouquet and enveloping his hand, taking him to the counter.

“Just these please.”

Your voice sounded heavenly to Joost, he was definitely going to ask you to do some adlibs in his song some time soon. He watched with content as you conversed with the cashier; leaning onto you, his head now on your shoulder. After a few minutes you placed a small kiss onto Joost’s face before saying your goodbyes to the cashier. You gently tugged at his hand, making sure that he knew you were going.

Once the two of you had the florist’s, you placed another kiss on his face, now on his nose, your favourite place to kiss him.

“I thought that you were going to fall asleep there baby, how about we get home and have a nice night in before it starts chucking it down.”

A small giggle left his lips as he carried the bouquet of flowers in his hand, the other now wrapped around your waist.

It is so important the Weepe and Saskia episode came directly after the Jonas and Phineas episode, because it really drove home how similar these dynamics are and where they fundamentally diverge.

First of all, Saskia and Jonas got their origins in very similar ways. According to Third Person’s Midst Messages series, beta Phineas (then called “Puck”) was originally a much more self-assured knight-in-shining-armor type, and Weepe was a showbiz guy that actually performed on stage and could command a crowd. Later, when fleshing out the story and characters further, Third Person essentially shaved those parts off of them to make the characters of Jonas Spahr and Saskia del Norma.

On a meta level then— of COURSE Phineas and Weepe are so obsessed with Jonas and Saskia! They are literally looking at their better half, the part of them that was stripped away to increase their flaws. Out of meta and in the context of the story, Phineas and Weepe both put Jonas and Saskia on pedestals. They then deal with these pedestals in interesting and horrific ways.

The pedestals exist because Jonas and Saskia saved them in some regard—Jonas by pulling Phineas out of the Delta, and Saskia through her kindness to Weepe when he came to Midst. This results in Phineas and Weepe primarily seeing Jonas and Saskia as the symbols they represent: heroic Prime Consector and the kind, too pure for this world pillar of the community respectively. These pedestals superimpose a fundamental power imbalance in the dynamics: Phineas feeling inadequate compared to Jonas’ Valor and charm, and Weepe thinking his awfulness will eventually twist Saskia away from him, Then, all of the problems with these relationships come to a tumultuous head when the moon fell on Midst, and it’s interesting to note that both Weepe and Phineas both partially did the terrible things they did to save face for themselves to their counterpart: Weepe specifically wanted to not be there or mentioned during the Cabaret bust, and Phineas went so violent over Sherman in an act of desperation partially to prove to Spahr he was worth something. Both of these attempts end up failing and fracturing their relationships, and Weepe abandons and Phineas is abandoned. These relationships then do not see each other until close to the end of season 3.

One of the major themes of Midst is change and metamorphosis, both on a physical and a mental level. All of the four characters go through a high level of change during their time apart, but Saskia and Weepe’s change is purely physical, while Phineas and Jonas’ is purely mental (save some beard shenanigans). Weepe’s entire body transforms into the clear skeleton man we know and love, and Saskia literally gains another body from the tearror. However, even after these drastic physical alterations, they remain fundamentally the same person. Saskia is still kind and community-focused, and Weepe is still the same diabolical bastard. Conversely, Jonas and Phineas had their worldviews so rocked (Jonas a little slower than Phineas, but Phineas got to smoke a moth about it) they individually decided to renounce the cult and value system that provided structure to their lives. They both interact with others and the world around them differently because of the mental changes they have undergone (seen in Phineas attempting to take greater responsibility for his actions and make choices for himself instead of just following orders, and Jonas learning to take agency and grow a backbone).

This is why Jonas and Phineas manage to reconcile and Saskia and Weepe don’t. For as different as their reunion scenes are, there’s a striking commonality: Saskia and Phineas both express the sentiment “I’m angry at you and I don’t know if I can forgive you” and Weepe and Jonas both respond with “Good, you should be.” It’s why they say those things that matters though. Jonas and Phineas have internally changed since their last meeting. Saskia and Weepe have not. Jonas has reached a point where he’s no longer asking anything of Phineas or placing undue pressure on him, and so he accepts Phineas’ negative emotions and imperfections for the first time in their relationship. Weepe just accepts no forgiveness because he thinks he deserves it, because he’s the same terrible person he’s always been and internal change is impossible. Or so he thinks, at least. Phineas changed and Jonas changed to match him. Saskia and Weepe were incompatible with their polar opposite values, and stayed that way permanently. To tie it back to the idea of pedestals, Jonas happily stepped off the pedestal he was on and Phineas let him—they’re both at zero. Weepe couldn’t take Saskia off her pedestal or view himself as anything less than lower than her, to the detrimental point of denying himself the chance to grow from his mistakes.

These relationships could have easily ended up very differently. In an alternate version of Midst, Jonas and Phineas could have decided to kill each other and Saskia and Weepe could have survived and attempted to try again with each other. It end up happening the way it did because Phineas and Weepe had very different facilitators of their respective metamorphosis. Phineas was guided by the Mothers Merciful to come to a new self-understanding. Weepe had Imelda fucking Goldfinch. Change doesn’t happen in an isolated chamber, it’s influenced by the people around us. Phineas was guided into change. Weepe was tortured into it. If Phineas was not treated with the kindness he was, or Weepe was treated with a little more, there’s a chance the story could have unraveled very differently.

In conclusion (this post ran away from me a bit haha) the codependent relationships of Phineas and Jonas, and Weepe and Saskia heavily parallel each other but reach different conclusions in the key places they diverge, i.e. the internal versus external change the characters went through and the type of support they received. “He should be home soon”, you muttered to yourself as you held your sweet baby boy in your arms. Life changed drastically ever since you became a mother, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.

You thought you’d love Taemin with all of your heart, but your little boy taught you a whole new level of love.

“Don’t you wanna go to sleep, Jongi?”

Big brown eyes looked back at you, cackling joyfully. Your baby was not only a direct replica of Taemin in regard to looks, but also personality. The little boy was cheerful most of the times, smiling widely and brightening the day of everybody around. People couldn’t get enough of this little fella, always visiting and gifting him stuff.

“You know he looks exactly like his dad?”, your mother teased. “Is there anything of you in him?”

“Well, I hope so”, you replied as you swayed him from side to side.

12 pm.

Cries filled your apartment as the little one was getting impatient.

“What’s wrong, sweetie? Do you miss your daddy? He should be home any minute, Jongi.”

Sadly, that promise wasn’t enough to stop the energetic cries, so you started swaying him while walking through the big apartment. Jongi was used to falling asleep to Taemin’s voice – he always sang him to sleep. “Daddy’s gotta sing for his fans tonight, sweetie. They also need him, you know?”

Even louder ones as if he had understood what you were saying. An idea flashed through your mind.

Slowly, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep as his dad was filling the room with the loveliest serenades. It didn’t take you long to join him in slumber, after all motherhood was one hell of a beast.

Generally, she goes by she/her pronouns. Though with her wife, (post miracle mask/what i’ll call dy miracle mask), she also enjoys going by he/him from time to time..but really only with her wife. She’d rather the public use she/her.

I like to think she’s bisexual but mainly with a preference for women. In diabolical Yuri’s writing, she dates a lot of the female cast. They enjoy her gentlemanlyness I guess LOL! She hardly involves herself with men but if her wife were a man, she would still love them dearly. She’s very sapphic in my head tho haha..

•From Barbados & Puerto Rico

Ok this is purely because I projected so heavily onto Hershel that I gave her my ethnicity LOL. Diabolical Yuri au is really to help find joy in myself haha.. Also chose to make her those ethnicities because I hardly see characters from Barbados and wanted to feel represented!

Though, Hershel wasn’t raised in Barbados or Puerto Rico, her biological mother is from Barbados and her biological father is from Puerto Rico. She was raised in a small unnamed village with her sister until she moved to Stansbury alone with her new adoptive parents after an accident involving her father and mother had occurred.

•Facial Features

For dy and in canon, I like to give Hershel a big nose because I find it cute hehe.

For dy, I give Hershel crow feet. No the little lines by her eyes are NOT eyelashes, they are crow feet. Without them, it makes her art just not look like her. She gets them from her (bio)mother.

Another thing that I do is give her a rounder plump face. I think it fits for her and looks great hehe!

I also give her visible facial hair by the sides of her head and by the left side of her face! I give her facial hair because, again, I want to feel represented in my designs. I have facial hair in those areas as well and I think it looks good on other characters too!

Lastly, visible eyebrows. Gave her eyebrows because her hat can’t possibly cover them up, unlike regular Hershel. She’d have to fight with her hair if she wanted her hat to cover her brows! Loll

•Facial Expressions

Hershel has a range of facial expressions that she can do.

When she’s startled, confused, or in a trance she gets little swirly eyes.

When excited, Her eyes dilate like how a rat’s eyes would or gets whale eyes when she’s really excited!

•Hair

She’s got fluffy hair with an exclamation point standing straight up!

•The ring & Wife

The word “wife” is in quotes because she never got legally married. Her “wife” just bought her a ring. She doesn’t like to use the term girlfriend or anything like that for her partner because she has this feeling that their relationship wouldn’t end, no matter what happens to the two of them.

Though, to keep the ring safe, she doesn’t wear it on adventures. Only to special events like staff parties, birthdays, or evenings out with her special somebody. She’s very afraid of losing it.

•Outfit components!

Decided to give hershel a flared out coat, nothing special haha. Her shoulders are quite boxy in her coat compared to her sweater, but she finds the look stylish.

Unlike regular Hershel, she tends to take off her hat inside buildings like a gentleman would. The hat doesn’t contain much sentimental value to her because of her rocky past with Claire.

Underneath the coat she’s got her lovely orange sweater, attached is her clip on tie. Her tie is really just a pin with a cap to hold the string of the other component of her tie. She finds it pretty rude when someone grabs it to pull on it but doesn’t mind all that much when her wife does it.

Green shoes, nothing much to it!

Not really an outfit component but she does have a purse/case mix thingy that she uses to hold items much like Hershel in the original professor layton. She’s also quite the klepto like the original professor haha!

•Pcos and Other things

I gave Hershel pcos to, again, feel represented in the things I create!

(UWAA,, IF I GET ANY OF THIS WRONG PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! I don’t reallyyyy know if i’m autistic myself yet,, so pleaseee let me know if i’m doing anything wrong with thisss )

I also decided to give her Autism/Autistic traits. In some of the art I make of her, her hands shake whenever her wife touches her or in stressful/overwhelming situations in dy’s writing. similar to mine whenever I see stuff that I like or just to relax myself.

In dy’s writing, she tends to go silent/mute when she gets too overwhelmed. During her college years it affected her quite a bit but she tries to manage it as she gets older.

She finds certain textures pleasing. She loves to have her hands in hair, preferably dense hair. And she likes the feeling of facial hair as well!! Besides hair, she hates certain bedsheets that are grainy so she’ll try anything to avoid them at all costs.

Not one by one like the comic counterpart, but literally Boboiboy used a freaking Hepta Split!

Tbh my expectations were low cause I was skeptical that Monsta not want to bring them after that last ep (link). But HOLY SHIT WTF???!!!!

I am absolutely jumping in my seat like a football supporter, I can't--

They got short screen time--I DON'T CARE. They still got a chance to team up once again after a whole 8 years since the first movie! Besides, that movie also shortened their screen time.

Whoever decided to make Oboi's armor resemble an ant needs a raise. That's freaking clever.

Btw it seemed their hats were locked with Oboi's position. Also, Hali, and Duri were the only elements that used their sword? Interesting...

"Kembali Beraksi" rearrangge version in the background during the whole scene?? Yes please!!!

Even though it is just short, their portrayal somehow solidified my deduction about the elementals.

Anywho I am still in tears that they finally showed up on screen again. That is my personal wishlist ever since when they announced the show. I am already satisfied with that alone tbh (like really, why should Monsta need to cut that part where they were essentially the big part of the promotion during the Windara comic arc??)

2. Finally Monsta went bold.

Oh, I looooooove that moment. Monsta started to not hold back and I am captivated by every single one of it. The dying scene was well executed, all voice actors were perfect, and this scene reminds me of this.

In my opinion, this scene was also a test for their next project which honestly more dark and horror(the most horror arc throughout the galaxy series for me)

3. IT IS TIME FOR BELIUUUUUNG!!!!

Can I say Nurfathiah Diaz as Beliung here was downright phenomenal? Like holy shit, this is by far her best performance imo, yet.

Her voice acting was blown me away and I could see her improvement from Taufan's first debut to Beliung's was....I'm-I'm lost for words right now.

Look at this line delivery! (Her laugh felt diabolical and I love it.)

"Tuanku yang seksa penduduk planet ni, paksa orang tua dan budak-budak kerja di lombong, tapi saye yang biadab?!"

Edit: Turns out she was pregnant when recording Beliung??

My Respect to her went rocket. Wow.

As a person who watch her performance since the very first season of Upin&Ipin until Boboiboy... I couldn't be more proud :')

And the animation team seriously packed the action right to the tea! Reramos was absolutely blasted the whole way by Beliung. He's as ruthless as Taufan's OG era!

See? See??? Being patient is worth it guys. Therefore I was easily enjoyed the design choice of Beliung's TV ver without seeing leaks.

Taufan's upgraded board also acted as weapons and wings? Genius. And also directly parallel to the first fight with Maripos. He even said this:

Now I am 100% ready for other 3rd tier designs if this is what Monsta decides to continue on.

To end this, Monsta decided to some sort of "invite" Oboi and Kuputeri into a small dark room, purposely to give a more in-depth conversation between the two, linked by Kuputeri's telepath power.

In my opinion, I prefer this strategy rather than the comic counterpart. Cause in a way, Monsta wants to show the bond between Kuputeri and Oboi as same as how Tok Kasa did with him in movie 2. Symbolize by placing the hat as they entrusted their power to the very same boy.

It might be exaggerating but that jumbled corrupted effect when Beliung's struggled? Impressive. Even more impressive that Monsta knowingly used the same effect when "finally" showcasing Beliung's card.

Speaking of ads, now they released the merchandise after the debut.

Everything's not perfect and I do have slight issues, but honestly? I'm pretty satisfied with this episode! They ended it nicely done!

Fireworks used to be such a joyful experience. They light up the dark sky with a harsh bang and beautiful colours. The varying patterns mesmerising everyone into watching forever.

But now they are nothing but a painful reminder of the past.

You tell yourself year after year that you’ve moved on from him — you’ve moved on from that good for nothing murderer who slaughtered all those humans for no reason.

But when you’re lying in bed, on a warm summers’ night, you’re reminded that you can never truly snuff out your love for him — despite his actions.

You’re disgusted with yourself for not being able to move on from this diabolical man. He’s ended so many lives — so many innocent lives — yet here you are, replaying old memories you seemingly eternally cherish.

“Hey, Suguru. Wait up,” you yell, Suguru stops walking to give you a chance to catch up to him, but he keeps his gaze to the floor. “Did you hear there’s going to be a firework display tonight? I heard they’re doing it to celebrate Jujutsu High’s Tokyo branch for being around for so many years. Anyway, we should watch them together!”

Suguru finally tears his eyes away from the wooden floor to look at you. “I don’t like fireworks. Their loud noises overwhelm me.”

“Oh…I didn’t know that…hey, what if we watch them from my dorm window? We’d get the perfect view and it shouldn’t be too loud.” You grin. Suguru is sceptical, but your beaming smile and want to hang out with him makes him cave.

“Alright. What time should I be at your dorm by?” Your grin grows impossibly bigger as you tell him eight o’clock. That gives you two half an hour to set up properly before the fireworks start.

“C’mon, Suguru. It’s almost eight thirty, we need to sit by the window.” He was still slightly nervous to watch the fireworks with you, even though he is far from them, but he swallows his fears down and sits with you by the window.

Soon the night sky begins to light up with the long awaited fireworks and you’re completely enamoured. So focused on them, you don’t notice that Suguru isn’t looking at them — in fact he hasn’t looked at a single one in front of him — the only fireworks he has seen tonight are the ones that reflect in your adoring eyes.

He uses this moment to question himself. Is he really going to go through with this? If he kills everyone in his village, there’s no going back and he’d most likely never see you again. You’d probably hate him as well, so there’s no point in asking you to join him. But would it hurt to ask? Would you push him away and call him a monster? Or would you agree to be his lover and stay by his side? The choice is yours.

“Y/N,” he almost feels guilty for ripping you out of your trance, but he needs to know now. It’s now or never. “What am I to you?”

“Hm?” You raise a brow. “What do you mean?”

“What am I to you?” Suguru pinches his brows together as he prepares for your rejection.

“I- Suguru, what are you-“

“What am I to you? Do you see me as the man who’s fought along side you or your family?”

“Huh? I- um- w-where did this come from?”

“Please,” Suguru looks at you urgently. “What am I to you?”

“I’m…you…you’re…you’re my…” You bite your lip with uncertainty before answering. “You’re my family.”

Suguru watches the fireworks properly for the first time tonight with a saddened look, and so do you. Unsure about your answer but too afraid and embarrassed to correct yourself.

Fifteen minutes of fireworks and thick silence go past slowly until the last one is lit and Suguru bids goodbye. You watch how his long hair sways when he walks down the corridor, not knowing that that would be the last time you saw and talked to Suguru Geto.

Now looking back on that memory, you wonder how you hadn’t seen Suguru’s heavy eye bags. How no one saw them. Or perhaps you did see them but you were unsure on how to talk to him about it.

These damn fireworks, always reminding you of him.

But still, they always have you wondering what would’ve happened if you told him how you truly felt. Would he have stayed at Jujutsu High with you, or was he too far gone at that point and would’ve asked you to join him? You honestly don’t know and most likely never will.

But you do know one thing:

Fuck warm summer nights, fuck fireworks, and fuck Suguru Geto.

Life hasn't slowed down much the past few weeks so I still haven't had time to do a long review but please know that every GH chapter is like a shot of serotonin straight into my veins.

You had so many good lines in Chapter 10 that gave me a good chuckle btw, i loved it.

Also, I'm never ever getting tired of Paige-Azzi-Stephie scenes. Like ugh, this lil family makes my day always. Brooo, Stephie's possessiveness! She a little master manipulator huh cause this:

“Mama,” Stephie says loudly, cutting Paige off as she turns to Azzi, “do you know if Aunty Chérie is in town?”

“I was just thinking,” Stephie barrels on casually, “maybe we could go see her and she could give me cuddles and kisses since app-ently Miss Buecks is too busy to give them to me-”

^This was absolutely DIABOLICAL from that little girl hahahah. She knows EXACTLY what to say to get what she wants from her Miss Buecks. Like mother, like daughter truly.

And our Drew cameo, it's finally here! Oh boy, the confrontation is really gonna be something, i already know. Yeah for sure I think Drew's gonna have slight feelings of jealousy or yearning in a way that Stephie gets to experience what he missed out on, but more than anything I think he is gonna be super protective of her and not wanting her to ever go through what he went through when Paige and Azzi broke up.

I do wonder what Azzi's reaction will be if and when they finally get around to talking about the "plan" in place of Angie potentially taking over P's role and the team maybe no longer needing P after this one season. I know P says it's nothing they can't work through , but well we all know how much of an overthinker Azzi is and so she's prolly already gonna jump straight ahead to scenarios of well what's that gonna look like if P has to move to the OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY and how that's gonna affect Stephie. Ugh, the angst is about to ANGST, i feel it.

Anyhoo, i guess this is kinda a medium-sized review? As a small token of my appreciation haha.

P.S: I think I'm rooting for a Liberty-Sun finals series. I do love the Lynx and I know how much you love Phee so I wouldn't mind if it was the Lynx (and I think it will prolly be them anyway over the Sun) but I do have such a soft spot for CT and I looooove Nai, so I am rooting for them over Minny, sorry babes. I'm rooting for NY though so at least there's that!

Oh and I watched Geno's media availability today, and he didn't seem all too impressed after the first practice session lol but it is the first one and there's a lot of new pieces so like he said, it'll just take time. But it better take less time than it did last season cause idk if I can suffer through another painful non-conference stretch. ALSO grandpa seemed annoyed at having to be cautious with Azzi LMAO, like if it was up to him, she's back on that court playing as much as possible ASAP. Imma need him to chill on that though. Like no one wants to see princess back on court more than me (well, maybe apart from Azzi herself and blondie) BUT her knees better be 200% before she's back on there!

Oh god I didn't have time to react to Geno's availability but I fear grandpa did not real squelch any of my fears about this team. My biggest side-eye was actually his lack of complementariness about Jana and I'm a little fearful for my frontcourt where apparently Ice (??) is looking like the best player?

He's definitely dying to have Azzi back out there but if that girl plays more than 15 minutes in at least her first 5 games, we will be having words! I have Farleigh-Dickinson circled on my calender for the earliest possible game we can see her and that would give her a couple of easy game before the team would really need her so he better not play her more than 15 if she does play then.

And he didn't even comment on it!!! Well at least I didn't go for the naked version of it, but next time I'm definitely choosing to make a statue for my Tav lmao.

I didn't want to mention the possible ascension because of spoilers but since you know a lot about him already thanks to your friend…yes, it's all true. The ascension wives are the most unhinged subsect of the Astarion fandom. If you let him do it he even becomes abusive if you are in a romance with him and you'll even have to agree to let him turn into his vampire spawn otherwise he'll break up with you (some of the wives 100% believe he turns you into his vampire bride, but obviously there is nothing in the game confirming this, on the contrary, the evidence is quite flimsy). The craziest thing is the wives think YOU are the abusive one for not letting him sacrifice 7000 souls (including children) in a diabolical ritual, a deal with a fucking archdevil in order to let him ascend, because how can you condemn pookie to a possible life without the sun while still feeling a vampire's hunger? They think you are robbing him of his own agency and infantilizing him. Not to mention that once you get rid of the tadpole, he won't even let you break up with him anymore. Like, at all. You have no choice anymore. He outright laughs at you and says "your future is mine to decide." Also, if you break up with him just before he's about to turn you into his spawn he admits he would've used your love for him against you until "you were nothing", that he appreciates you for doing this, saying he didn't think you had it in you (breaking up with him, that is). Oh and since you mentioned playing the game for meme potential, well, here you also have the option to kick him in the balls when he says "on your knees, darling" to your Tav, before he's about to transform them into a vampire. Yes, he has all that power, glory and money if he ascends, but at what cost? He totally loses himself and any positive character growth he had is totally gone and nullified by the ascension. Like yeah he does push for ascending, but does he really need it? There is a difference between wanting something (for all the wrong reasons imho, he can be safe and free without doing this as his good ending proves it) and needing something and you as his friend or lover should know better rather than have him give in into his worst impulses. Tbh I think many of these wives genuinely believe that if he says he wants something, you have to do it because how can you deny your boyfriend this "but he said so!!!". Loving someone doesn't mean agreeing with them every single time, that's not how actual relationships work. That's not to say one can't enjoy toxic relationships in fiction, but that's not what these people are doing here, let's be real. He actually approves and genuinely thanks you if you talk him out of ascending, by the way. He says he was not himself back then when he was just about do it and although he did not appreciate it at the time, is now grateful for saving him from himself, that you saw and believed he is enough just way he is, that now he is "truly and honestly free". The game couldn't be more clear about this, the parallels, the foreshadowings are all there from the very beginning but everything completely flew over these people's heads. Sure, he gets sad when he loses the tadpole and can't be in the sun anymore but eventually he embraces the shadows (in a good way this time) and realizes he can be free and happy like this as well.

(tbh personally I do think that writer unprofessional in how they expressed their opinion but they still didn't deserve to be harassed for it…and it's also not like the text itself doesn't confirm what they said).

I do feel bad for those who do like his evil ending for what it is without trying to whitewash it because they often end up catching strays thanks to the crazies, like people telling them they'll be abused in real life by their partners because they like this version of Astarion…which is not a nice thing to say to someone even online. On the other hand these wives claim they are genuine villain fuckers, that they love Astarion as evil as he can be, they also claim to love dark romances but then they totally dumb down the toxic elements of the relationship with him and turn it into uwuuu loving evil power couple. Come on…they genuinely insist his bad and evil ending is the GOOD one! Most characters have a good and evil or bad ending yet fans of other companions don't pretend the bad ones are secretly the good ones "for reasons" or "but they said so, they said they wanted it". I've yet to meet a Shadowheart fan who genuinely thinks her bad ending is in fact her good one, for example. Or a Lae'zel fan.

yeah, that's what i was talking with my friend about, that you'd be out of your mind to accept for him to ascend. and, like you said, it would negate any kind of character growth he might have had until then. so far, my friend was able to talk him out of it and he was grateful, whereas my boyfriend didn't have a good enough approval rating so he had to kill him off. very different outcomes!

not yet, i don't think! she just mentioned that they're very weird with the voice actors as well. she sent me a very long and lachrymose tumblr post, bemoaning that his actor showed his discomfort with ascended!astarion fans during a livestream, how unprofessional and hurt they were by this very normal reaction

i wanted to highlight this because it's so true and something i've seen in more fandoms as well. i would say that aly$m0nd was a similar case, where a lot of shippers refused to engage with any potentially problematic aspects of their relationship and just pushed a sanitized true love narrative.

I will address the rest all at once without quoting separately since it's faster. Hopefully I didn't miss anything important:

The spear you found in Withers' place is okay for Shadowheart momentarily but it will soon become obsolete as you will find a much better weapon for her just before entering act 2. It's a mace called "The Blood of Lathander" and is located somewhere within the Githyanki Creche (you will have to go there as it's part of Lae'zel quest). Just deal with the giths first and then go and search for the weapon. It's super good for clerics especially and it's one of those weapons that is effective even in act 3 by the end of the game.

I heard about this mace! I will keep an eye out for it. Add it to my list of items I need to find while still in Act 1.

Entering turn based mode is also a good idea when stealing from merchants.

Yeah the weightless consumables mod is a must have. It seems useless now but when you start collecting all kinds of arrows, potions, scrolls, gold you will become encumbered really, really quick.

I'll see how much longer I'll mentally last with loading and unloading all of the crap I pick up. :))

I think you can sneak past Ethel's masked servants, some players managed to do it (perhaps you could try and make everyone invisible?). Personally I fought them as I didn't want to complicate myself by trying to sneak.

Oh yeah, I go more in detail in my last post about my Ethel adventures.

The Ethel point, if not used on your character, might very well go on one of your companions as I may have said in one of my previous asks. If anyone's main stat is still 17 use it to get it to 18. Then use the ability increase feat to even other odd ability points left? Mayrina will be angry with you no matter what you do so don't worry, it will pass.

So, I requested an INT +1. And my plan currently is to summon the ogres when I go to the goblin camp, make sure they die, if not felled by goblins, then by my hand, and pick up the Circlet of Intelligence or whatever it's called. It pumps INT up to 17, I think? I can then dump all of my INT numbers down to the minimum of 8, add Ethel's +1 and I'm up to 18. With a lot of points free to distribute someplace else. If I can get my hands on the Gloves of Dexterity, too, I can almost turn Mirta into a tank. I feel that secretly she longs for the bloodsong of the battlefield, but is keeping real quiet about it. :))

You got the necromancy book? That's great. Buuuut you might have wanted to take Astarion with you as he has an interest in it. Giving it to him will also grant A LOT of approval (10 points I believe?) which is desirable since you want to romance him. And no, he won't do anything funny with it, the book will be safe in his hands. I mentioned in a previous ask about trusting and agreeing with some of his less insane suggestions, well, this is one of them.

As for your latest incident I should've mentioned that trusting him to NOT drain you dry isn't a good idea lol. I'm sorry once again however it's still extremely funny what he did to poor Mirta. At least she punched him!!

After you are done with all the side quests in the area you can go to the goblin camp and do what's needed to be done there without needing to kill ALL of them. Rescue Halsin if you want to (he is a nice guy but a boring character overall and the bear sex stunt turned me off his character a bit I fear) and kill the goblin leaders. Not sure if you know, but one of their leaders (Minthara) can be recruited later in act 2 if you knock her out. So no killing - so don't use spells and ranged weapons on her if you want her to survive and have her in your party eventually.

Yeah, the bear sex I honestly find hilarious. I'm going to try to recruit as many as I can, because free labour and help? Why not? Though I'm not sure I can have both Minthara and Halsin in my camp (apparently they can't stand each other?). My bf said I had to choose, but I wonder if I can't get those two crazy cats to get along with my high CHA.

You may want to expose Kagha and the shadow druids before doing the goblin camp.

This is weird, when it comes to dialogues you should have the possibility to select the Friends cantrip in the bonus section before you roll the dice. It should be there near Shadowheart's guidance. Once you select it two dices will show up on your screen, then the dice with the higher number will be taken into consideration. You may have a bug if it doesn't show up. But yes other than dialogues, there's not much practicality for it.

You're right about that, I will reconsider the Friends cantrip later on maybe. I imagine I get more cantrip slots as I progress.

Also, if you want access to the Guidance cantrip, there is a necklace that grants you this spell so you won't need to drag Shadowheart around you. (a short video with the location so I don't have to explain it to you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_abMisavwU )

Yep, Dancing Lights disarming traps and vents is apparently a thing which I found out quite late in the game. I always threw stones and random weapons at vents to cover them and then I had Astarion disarm them and any other traps.

As for lightning and ice spells or cantrips: Shocking Grasp and Ray of Frost are the only cantrips available, but you may want to look into spells. I know the temptation is to not spend your spell slots and focus on cantrips since you can cast them endlessly but trust me, sometimes you'll have to use spells. Once you hit level 5 you'll begin to have access to other cool lightning and ice spells. Lightning Bolt and Glyph of Warding (this one lets you choose the type of damage you will deal and both ice and lightning are available - Shadowheart as a cleric will also have access to this spell) and on later levels there are even more cool ones. You probably missed this one but on early levels there is also Chromatic Orb which is similar to the Glyph.

Oh, yeah, I do use spells, too, but you never know when you might need an elemental cantrip you can cast without limit.

The only items Gale can eat will have a text written under them that should say something like "Gale can absorb this item". He has standards, he won't eat just anything!

Too bad I didn't figure that one out sooner, but no real harm done!

Not you giving Gale the Dancing Lights amulet. You are right that it is redundant but it has sentimental value since it's from Arabella's parents. How could you???

The bard hat must be worn by a bard, even if you gain that ability from Alfira it won't work on your character. Bards, depending on their current level, have a number of "Bardic Inspiration Poins" which are similar to cleric's Guidance cantrip and will grant other party members bonuses when they roll their dices. Some of their attack actions are also dependent on this system and may cost bardic inspiration points. If you don't intend to respect someone into a bard or use multiclass (a feature that's not available on your difficulty level anyway) on a party member, then the hat will be useless and Gale can eat it.

Oh.... Well, it was worth a shot. I did look goofy while wearing it. Gave it to Gale after all.

Gloves of uncommon power? Did you mean gloves of power? They are fine on Lae'zel or maybe even better on Astarion due to the Sleight of Hand +1 bonus. You could give them to Gale and then buy the Gloves of Thievery for Astarion from the Zhentarim merchant (I think you need to deliver the shipment from the caravan to them without opening it in order to have access to them and other cool items from full inventory).

I'll have to check how I stand with them in this post-Ethel administration! 💪 Shadowheart and Wyll are quite keen on me.

From now on up until the end of the game you can use his bite ability on enemies when in combat and he will gain the "Happy" condition each time, including the +1 bonus. Alternatively, you can also have Mirta become his willing blood bag and invite him to feed on her each night or so lol & the following morning he will gain the condition that way as well, but I think letting him feed on enemies is better.

Yeah, I can imagine the blood bank fics, 😅 but, unfortunately (or fortunately for the sane ones amongst us), Mirta would wake up with some of her abilities depleted at the cost of Astarion's boosts. And that doesn't really work for her since she's discovered her own penchant for dueling after her brush with death. How can she take all that damage enemies frontload on her in combat otherwise? 💬

A fun happening which I forgot to mention previously but there is this Rha*nicent fan art that's been living rent free in my head ever since I saw it back in august (link: https://x.com/kknoahh/status/1825991659835867357) with short haired Rha*nyra, who I genuinely thought to be…Astarion at first. I was like who the fuck started to ship Alicent with him lmao, like can you imagine this crackship.

Well, Gale isn't in a position to criticize Astarion for hiding his true nature, to be fair. You'll find out soon enough when he confesses the full truth about his condition and why he really needs to consume all those magical artefacts. I don't remember if the rest of your companions have something to say each time after you give items to Gale to eat but after you feed him for the third and final time they should have something to say if you click on them, at least those who are in your active party at the time (again, no exclamation mark will show up above them).

This tip has proven very useful and I always make sure to check on them at the end of the day and after I hit long rest. Most of them did comment on Gale some way the other, but NONE of them had ANYTHING to day that the leech spawn KILLED ME. Forsooth!

Astarion will be like "who would hide something like this from his friends? you can't trust anyone this days", which is quite hilarious considering Gale was more understanding lol.

This line is even funnier if you think he's being self-aware while saying it. :))

I may offer you a hint that won't spoil anything: make a quicksave to be sure just in case and then use Astarion's bite ability on Gale. You'll see that something is wrong with the guy… ;)

He did ask me whose blood I'd suck, which was quite hilarious, and insisted I'd answer. :)) I picked Gale for the lols, hoping it would trigger what you said, but nothing happened. I guess fang boy abides by our deal and keeps to hunting animals? Who would have thought? But maybe I'll try to bite Gale tonight, to see what he does.

Unfortunately, backgrounds don't matter so much, Tav is pretty much a blank slate. You get some specific skill proficiencies and maybe some unique dialogue options here and there but other than that? Pretty much nothing, except for also receiving inspiration points. It's really a missed opportunity and one of my main criticisms of the game, there are plenty of occasions in the game where your background could've been taken into into consideration. You actually gave a good example about perhaps being allowed into spaces common born people aren't, but unless I missed something, nothing like this happens. You even meet Baldurian nobles in act 3 and you have no dialogue options with any of them when normally you should've been familiarized with at least some of them, being a noble yourself. Two of your possible companions, Wyll and Minthara, are of noble birth as well and you can't have a noble to noble conversation with them (you have a noble dialogue option with Minthara but only if you play as a drow noble, other races aren't acknowledged and as far as I can recall, Wyll has no specific dialogue for other nobles).

That's unfortunate. It would have been a great addition. Like, I imagine noble characters could start out with more coin in their pockets or that common-borns could have streets smarts (survival proficiency) or knowledge about the local flora or fauna or small settlements. I sometimes have dialogue with people about aspects my tav should already be aware of, even general world-building stuff, like fellow races or just current events. :))

Also, it's rather annoying to be playing a Baldurian character but they're seemingly unaware of anything going on in Baldur's gate. For example, Mirta should have been aware of Cazador, I feel? At the very least that there's a coven of vampires in her home city and that no one is doing anything about it. :)) Or just generally question Astarion's magistrate background.

The overwhelming roar of the crowd in Casablanca’s Mohammed V Stadium was quite deafening, but that made gavis pulse raise even more. His heart raced not because of nerves, but for the fact that he wants to prove himself. Back in the world cup 2022 he scored a goal against costa rica that showed that he wasn’t just another kid from la masia, he was truly a star. However, a few matches later his first world cup dream came to a crash. Round of 16 vs morocco.

As the anthems faded to an end and the refs whistle blew, he jogged into place and let the game get into its usual rhythm, clear chances, passes, tackles and fouls. And there it was. a goal! Perfect goal may i add by lamine yamal. The stadium erupted into cheers as gavi made his way to the corner flag to celebrate with his teammate, not only internationally but from his club that’s always been by his side.

However, this wasn’t just a normal celebration, something pulled his gaze upwards, and that’s when he saw it, her. Throughout the wave of opposing fans, one face stood out to him, a gorgeous girl, hands gripping the railing with her jaw dropped. It was obvious she wasn’t cheering for spain though, her kit and flag proved that inference. Yet her gaze found his, holding it for longer than it should’ve.

Eventually, half time pulled around as gavi made his way to the locker room. But that didn’t stop him from looking for her though. She hadn’t moved from that spot, instead she was stood up, laughing with her friends leaning against that very same railing, but her focus wasn’t on her friends. Her gaze was on the pitch, as if she was looking for something, making gavi wonder if it’s him that she’s looking for.

Pedri, who was standing right next to him, nudged him and said, ‘Focus hermano, she’s way out of your league.’, in a teasing tone, making gavi smirk but no response came out of him. He knew this wasn’t the last time their paths would cross.

The final whistle blew, the score ending in a 2-1 narrow victory to Spain, with players exchanging handshakes and shirts. Even though they had a successful match, that didn’t shift his mind from the mystery girl, his eyes shifting to her every couple of minutes.

After plucking up the courage to approach her, he noticed her still laughing with her friends, her smile lighting him up.

Without giving it a second thought, he jumped over the barrier, passing security and approached her. Some may call him cocky for the confidence but she noticed and found it amusing that he tried to get her attention. Although security refused to let him get any closer, he ushered her to come closer, and she complied, with her friends teasing her.

‘Hola, did you enjoy the match?’, he asked in almost a whisper to avoid attention from others.

She tilted her head, and her lips formed into a smile, laughing to herself and replied with, ‘Even though Spain won? I guess so’ she said in a playful tone, with her soft accent coming out.

They exchanged names however it caught Gavi off guard.

‘Wait you don’t know my name?’ asked Gavi in an almost concerned tone.

‘No, I know your name.. I just wanted to hear you say it.’ she said, her soft smile widening.

‘Gavi’ he said, chuckling, in a quiet voice.

Her friends called her from behind and she glanced back, reluctant to leave. ‘Looks like I have to go..’ she said.

‘Wait.’ Gavi said quickly, removing his shirt, and handed it to her, the faint smell of grass clinging to it. ‘Something to remember this match by.’

She took the shirt, her fingers brushing his for a small second, ‘Gracias, Gavira.’ she said, making his heart race.

There was one thing he knew for certain, he had to see her again.

The next few days in Casablanca was an absolute blur for him, media videos, training sessions and team meeting, but she couldn’t get out of his mind. Her smile, her laugh and how her gaze lasted for longer than even she wanted it to.

That’s when he realised, it wasn’t the match, it was her.

After hours of practice, the team had some downtime before their flight back to Madrid. Gavi found himself roaming the streets with Pedri, just so he didn’t seem like a loner.

‘So you’re really attached to this girl, hermano?’, asked Pedro almost with genuine concern.

Gavi sighed and yet again, didn’t have a reply for that and continued walking.

That’s when he saw her, for the second time, except she was alone in a small cafe.

He hesitated for a moment, Pedri staying outside, as Gavi made his way over.

‘Mind if i join?’ he asked, grabbing a chair from a nearby table.

She looked up, surprised as a smile was spread across her face. ‘Gavi’ she said ‘How come you’re not with your team?’

‘I mean, I was..’ he said, taking a seat opposite her. ‘But I figured i’d explore some more. Seems like I found the right place’

She raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. ‘So you spend your free time chasing random girls that you see during matches?’

He smirked, leaning back into the chair, ‘Only the interesting ones.’

She laughed softly, her fingers absentmindedly tracing the edges of her teacup. ‘Not sure if that’s flattering or too forward’

Gavi’s smile softened, ‘A bit of both, cariño.’

‘Well i’ve seen you play, you’re good. But i’m sure you know that by now.’

He chuckled, ‘I don’t need compliments, but i’ll take them’

She smiled again, ‘So what’s a footballer like you doing in this small cafe in Casablanca?’

He looked out the window for a second, and then back at her, ‘I guess i’m looking for things that matter besides football’

Her gaze softened, ‘And have you found that yet?’

‘I’m getting closer.’ he paused, ‘Listen, I don’t know how long i’m gonna be here, but I want to see you again’

Unsure of how to really respond to that, she said ‘Maybe. If you’re lucky.’ in a mysterious tone.

And that’s when he knew he wouldn’t be leaving this city any time soon.

Due to the weather in Spain, their trip extended a few more days, but she didn’t need to know that.

On the last night of their stay, Gavi slipped away from the hotel and didn’t tell anyone, not even Pedri that he was going back to that very same cafe.

The night air was cooler than he expected but the night life still stayed active.

It wasn’t that long until he saw the cafe again, although it was late, it was still open and a few people were still in there.

He hesitated for a moment before entering again and the owner looked up at him and said,

‘Gavi, right? You’re here for someone I figured, and if so you’re in the right place, habibi.’

Gavi, uncertain by her words, followed her over to the table, where he saw here for the third time.

He sat opposite her, letting his eyes linger on her for a second before she broke the silence.

‘Gavi, I thought you wouldn’t turn up.’, she said, following with the familiar smile that Gavi loved.

‘I couldn’t stay away.’ he replied

And to that she chuckled and said, ‘You’re a lot more complicated than i thought Pablo.’

He grinned, trying to hide his emotions, leaning back into his chair, ‘I’ve been told.’

She stood up and said, ‘Listen Gavi, it’s getting late, I need to get going, and you should too.’

‘Wait,’ Gavi said ‘Can you please see me play again.’, he asked in an almost pleading tone.

She looked back, with an unreadable expression and said, ‘And you think i’ll say yes?’

‘I was hoping that you’ll surprise me.’

‘Maybe.’

And with that, she left.

A few weeks passed by, and the memory of you lingered in his brain. He hadn’t seen her since that night in the cafe, but your time together was the only thing on his mind.

Now he was in the Montjuïc, at a home game for laliga, as the stadium was packed with culers from all over the world as usual. But this match felt different.

As the game kicked off, Gavi instantly fell into the usual match rhythm yet his thought remained on her.

There was a small pause in play, as he re adjusted his socks, someone caught his eye. It was her.

There she was, in the VIP section, her barca scarf tucked around her shoulders.

He froze for a second, his heart hammering in his chest. She was no longer a memory, she was there in real time. Eventually, he snapped back into focus.

The scoreline was 1-1 and he knew that he needed to be the change that he wanted to see, so he took a risk and shot it in the direction of the net, bracing himself for the result. And there it was, a goal to put barca in the lead.

Pablo sprinted to the corner to celebrate and he looked up to see her in the stands with her hands over her mouth in shock. Then she smiled, her face full of pride. He noticed that, and made a small gesture, pointing towards her.

After the match was over, he saw her waiting with security by the players exit.

‘You made that goal look easy’ she said, her voice with a teasing tilt.

Before he could answer that, he had a question in his head.

‘You came all this way, why?’ He said, his eyes searching for hers.

‘I wanted to see if you’d keep your promise’

‘And did I?’

‘Yes.’ she replied with a subtle smile.

It had gotten to the point where they finally exchanged numbers, making his heart flutter.

The next laliga match was against sociedad which was quite a big match if you think about it. He had just completed his pre game superstitions until he received a message

‘i heard you’re not as bad as they say, wanna prove it? 😉’

He grinned, feeling a rush of excitement.

‘i thought i already did that’ he typed back.

‘okay, meet me at the cafe tomorrow.’

He arrived at the cafe as soon as the match was over and he was lost in thought. What were they? He knew they weren’t a fling but he didn’t know what to label it.

‘You’re early’ she said as she walked in.

‘Came as soon as the match ended’ he replied.

‘Okay Pablo, i’m gonna start off with why i asked you to come here. You’re the first guy who’s come into my life with a smile and a promise. But i’m not interested in that.’ she started.

He leaned in, ‘What’re you interested in then.’

‘Something real.’

‘So am I, and i’m not going anywhere.’

‘So prove it.’

And with those three words, the barrier between them was broken.

They went for a walk on the quiet streets of Barcelona, the night air brushing their faces. Neither of them spoke but the silence was enough for the both of them.

He turned to face her, ‘Listen. I don’t want you to go, just stay.’

She looked back at him and said, ‘Gavi.’

He didn’t let her continue because he felt like he already knew the answer to that and closed the gap between them.

Eventually, she found her way into extending her stay and renting an apartment in Barcelona to stay wiyh Gavi

Months past until they decided to make it official to the public, they both figured it out, the fame and distance.

One evening, they both sat on the balcony until he turned to face her.

‘So this is what i’ve been looking for. I’ve finally found what matters besides football.’ Gavi said.

She smiled back at him, realising that this is all she wanted too.

my official teen wolf seasons ranking because i just finished the whole show and need to talk about it:

#1: season 3b (duh)

this is unanimous in the fandom, and i think it’s 90% to do with dylan o’brien getting the opportunity to be a great actor. everyone say “thank you dylan o’brien.”

also the only time teen wolf (the show) committed, grew some balls, and killed a main character off. good for them (until the movie, but let’s not talk about that yet!)

i have a lot of issues with it, as i do with every season— mostly having to do with the pacing and the poor foundation the villain of the season was set up on. teen wolf just kept throwing new bad guys and lore at us and expected the audience to not be confused as hell???

anyways…

#2: season 5a

i actually really liked the dread doctors! i think the first half of season 5 is stronger than the second half because the dread doctors are the main villains. the doctors have arguably the best character designs in the whole show. they looked cool and the way they moved was cool.

this season also gave us theo, which i love the idea of and somewhat liked the way they used him. could’ve done more with him as an antagonist, and also should have utilized scott and liam’s pack dynamics more.

#3: season 1

nostalgia, mostly.

no other notes.

#4: season 2

also here for nostalgia, but at least the plot of mostly coherent? that reason alone, and the addition of isaac lahey and cora hale <3, is why it’s placed above the others below.

but matt was a terrible character and his motivations were stupid. never should have existed. at least he died.

#5: season 6a

the cinematography was a big step up from every other season. making this season half easier on the eyes made the plot more palatable for me.

the wild hunt plot was… fine? i guess? was crammed in very clumsily, but all villains kind of are in teen wolf. the insane lore drops were especially diabolical this season though.

#6: season 3a

i liked that the villain of this half (the alpha pack) was set up prior to their appearance, making them one of the few villains that made sense… but even being coherent couldn’t save it from feeling rushed.

the alpha pack plot should have been its own season, not crammed into the first half to make room for a whole new plot in the second half. teen wolf just never knew when to let up on the gas pedal.

i liked the mystery sub-plot of the ritualistic murders, but its conclusion fell flat for me. didn’t care for jennifer’s storyline at all.

honestly? this half season and 6a were really close for me, but 6a’s cinematography just barely won it that #5 spot. kali’s feet claws didn’t help either.

#7: season 5b

the weak link of season 5. the dread doctors were more interesting without the beast of gevaudan and all that bullshit with eichen house.

the beasts’ design was ugly and is most of the reason why i don’t like it, but also because??? huh??? the dread doctors should’ve had a different reason for making the chimeras because that was dumb as hell. mason being the beast was also a horrible plot twist. didn’t vibe.

the saving grace was the chimeras. they were interesting. i liked their dynamic, and i generally enjoyed theo’s arc that season as a villain but felt they could’ve done more with him and his motivations.

LOVED to see pack drama. we needed more pack stuff in this show. watching the pack start to drift apart and break was really interesting to watch, but it would’ve been even better if the pack dynamics and relationships were more fleshed out prior to this. i would’ve felt their divide more if i was given more of them actually united.

felt more betrayed by 5b because 5a was as good as it was. the ending did not stick the landing for me.

#8: season 4a

why are we in mexico all of a sudden? how exactly did derek age regress? why is kate alive? and why is she a were-jaguar? why is the hale family vault hinder the high school— and yes i get that it was build before the school was made, but that doesn’t explain the secret passageways in the school—? how did peter’s coma genocidal thoughts reach meredith? why are we not addressing that kate is a pedophile?

most egregiously to me: they completely fumbled the idea of scott having a beta. liam being bitten on accident robbed scott of any agency as a character. furthermore, them neglecting the alpha and beta bond between scott and liam was really disappointing. scott should have been more of brother, maybe even parental, figure towards liam because of the alpha-beta dynamics at play.

i hated this season. it’s a miracle i even finished it at all. i wanted to repeatedly bash my head against a wall until i ended up in a coma where i telepathically influenced a mentally ill banshee teenager into making a hit list of the teen wolf writers room.

#9: season 6b

anticlimactic. incoherent. convoluted. impatient. unsatisfying. disappointing.

the anuk-ite was an unnecessary addition. this season should’ve been solely about the hunters and monroe.

i was initially excited for a human villain to be introduced, to see the wolf pack have to deal with more mundane horrors and play into the plethora of allegorical opportunities of lycanthropy… the 6b failed to deliver anything at all.

monroe’s motivation was idiotic and weak. gerard is a lazy bad guy to shoehorn in. the fight scenes, which should’ve been the highlight, were poorly choreographed. the makeup work was uninspired. the music was bad enough to break any immersion i might have had.

i was watching this half and got to the final episode and had to double check that it was, in fact, the series finale because it didn’t feel final. i didn’t feel that anything was being built up to. i felt like i got lost in the woods or something.

also the cinematography was weaker than the first half for some reason??? how did they manage that?

#10: season 4b

without the deadpool, season 4b was a miserable, frustrating, and boring experience. i have a headache just thinking about it.

I can see the reader being due for a heel turn and was suppose to be aligned with her lover but when her brother arrives, plans change tremendously. Instead she’s pushed harder as a baby face and with that comes a bit of heart break. Instead she’s aligned with her brother against their child hood best friend and the love of her life and apparently Christian gets a new on screen lover in Shayna. The reader ends up breaking things off at that and Christian spends weeks and months trying to show her there’s no one else and never will be and that nothing is happening between him and Shayna no matter what’s portrayed on screen. He even has to go as far as to have Shayna try and talk to her. I can even see Adam wanting to kill him a bit because even though that’s his bestfriend, she’s his baby sister, and he’ll go to war over her.

I don't really have any disclaimers for this story. There are a few curse words and jealousy is portrayed throughout, but that's about it! 🙂

His contract with them had just run out and he had a decision to make, retire or join his little sister and best friend in AEW. You, Adam, and Christian grew up together and it was rare for the 3 of you not to be seen together. Ever since you were kids, you and Christian were smitten with each other! Your relationship was still going strong even after all these years. At first, it took Adam some time to get used to seeing his best friend and little sister kiss and hold hands, but once he saw just how happy you and Christian were together, he gave your relationship his full support. You remembered Adam telling you about the conversation he had with Christian after he found out the two of you were together. It’s funny thinking back to it now, but at the time, you were so embarrassed! You can only imagine the look Christian must’ve had on his face when your 6-foot 5 brother warned him that if he ever broke your heart, he would knock his teeth so far down his throat that he would have to stick a toothbrush up his ass to brush them. Thankfully, that never happened! (😂)

At first, you were ecstatic having your brother work for the same company as you and Christian, but after he made his debut, it set off a series of pretty big changes. The fans LOVED seeing you, Adam, Christian and Luchasaurus interact together! Everything was going well until Christian took AEW’s newest signee under his wing.

Nick Wayne was officially “All Elite” at the young age of 18. He had already been dubbed the hottest thing since sliced bread! You and Christian realized right away how talented Nick was and the 3 of you really hit it off! What you didn’t realize was Nick’s mother Shayna and him were a packaged deal. The decision for her to be Christian’s new onscreen lover was one you were very conflicted about. Shayna, Christian and you had set some ground rules and boundaries that you all were comfortable with. Things started to get messy when your jealousy rose to the surface, putting a strain on your and Christian’s relationship. “You’re spending an awful lot of time with her, Christian. I just don’t like the way she looks at you or how she’s always near you. I thought I was okay with the two of you working together, but it turns out I’m not.” You explained to him. “Y/N, I promise you have nothing to worry about. Shayna is a coworker and nothing more. What’s portrayed onscreen is 100% an act.”

He kissed her. Right in front of you, your brother, and the entire world. You and Adam watched Christian and Shayna lock lips from across the ring with your mouths wide open and hearts hammering against your chests. Your natural response was to waltz across the ring and stop them, but Adam held out his arm to hold you back. The cameras were eating up the situation from all angles, so he knew you had to stay in character. Somehow you managed to pull yourself together and finish the segment, even though your heart was aching. Once the 4 of you were backstage, you couldn’t hold in your hurt any longer. “What the hell was that?!” you shouted. “Whose idea was it for the two of you to kiss? Someone please tell me who thought locking lips on live TV was a good idea!” Adam was standing next to you seething, his voice filled with irritation when he spoke to his best friend, “Hey, dumbass! My sister asked you a question! I suggest you start talking.” “Y/N, I know you’re upset. I’m sorry for not telling you beforehand! It was a last-minute decision and there wasn’t enough time to run it by you. I can assure you the kiss meant nothing, and it was strictly for storyline purposes,” Christian explained, but you didn’t want to hear any of it. “You know, I think what hurts the most is that you chose to go through with something that you knew would upset me. Your kiss twisted fantasy and reality together so much that I’m not even sure if it was real or not! You played with fire Christian, but I’m the one that ended up getting burned.”

Days turned into weeks, and they all seemed to blur together. This had been the longest you had ever gone without talking to or seeing Christian. The night of the disastrous promo, you told him that you needed some time apart and he protested of course. He apologized for kissing Shayna and for not talking to you about it first. He admitted that it was a poor lack of judgement on his part and reiterated that the kiss meant nothing, but you still walked away. You had missed phone calls and text messages from him that you couldn’t bring yourself to answer. The large vase of flowers he sent you last week were wilting on the table. Christian even had Shayna try and talk to you about everything! Adam tried to remain neutral on the situation but was ready to go to war over his little sister if he needed too. Seeing his little sister and his best friend like this bothered him greatly, but he stayed out of it. That is, until one night when you were at his house having dinner with him, Beth, and your nieces.

“Christian wanted me to give this to you. I tried refusing, but the crestfallen look on his face when I told him no persuaded me. Just open it and see what it says Y/N. If not for him, do it for your big brother.” Adam handed you an envelope after saying his peace. A battle between your head and your heart went on all night as you tried to decide which one to listen to about opening the envelope or not. Once you were home, your heart ended up winning the fight! It hammered against your chest as you ripped the envelope open, revealing a folded-up piece of paper inside. Tears welled in your eyes as they read over the words you had written to Christian after having your very first fight years ago.

Your phone dinged on the counter while you read over your letter again. You were going to ignore it, but something told you see what it was about.

Christian: Adam told me he gave you the letter. My world has been filled with thorns without you, Y/N. I’m sorry for everything. Please forgive me.

You drove as fast as you could to Christian. When he opened the door, you threw your arms around his neck, almost knocking him over from the force. He wrapped his arms around you in return, holding on tightly as if he was afraid you would run away if he let go. Both of you tried to speak at the same time, but Christian insisted on going first. “I was so stupid to risk everything we have for work. I’m sorry for being so insensitive to your feelings and not telling you about everything first. Your feelings matter and they are important to me, just like mine were to you after we had our first fight. I’ve kept that letter all this time, and I read it often. When you gave me that letter, that was the moment I knew that there was no one else in the world for me, and there never will be Y/N.”

I genuinely am so excited for Sonic p-06. I have a lot of thoughts about taking a massacre and making it fun and my unironic love for the original 06.

Basically Sonic 06 was going to be this huge revolutionary game in the franchise, Basically the fabled "Sonic Adventure 3," and it had potential. Amazing music as usual, a pretty amazing concept for story, one of the darkest and most diabolical villains of the franchise ever- Lots of heart and soul was crammed into it.

Then... the assholes up top interfered. There's a few conflicting theories- Microsoft wanting it to be a 360 launch title, SEGA wanting it out BY CHRISTMAS- bottom line, corporate greed got in the way of artistic vision, and it was rushed before it could be completed to the detriment of EVERYONE.

What resulted is- as fans of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will know- a buggy mess of a game thats pretty much mostly known for it. Unlike SV though- even though you could tell they were really trying with the story- it still needed some revising to iron out plot holes. Unlike SV as well, it didn't reuse the same mechanics and models from previous games verbatim, and was coming during the time when everyone hated the franchise and thought it was cool to shit on it for every little thing, so the gameplay was definitely lacking and the reception was definitely not up for debate: it was an utter failure that still chars gaming history. Because it failed, we pretty entered a timeline where we weren't allowed serious games anymore, and that's actually the last time in a 3d game that someone other than Sonic or basically a Sonic Clone would be playable.

But the thing is, as shit as the original 06 is, it was one of my favorite games because I sort of identified with it on a meta level, even if I didn't realize why at the time. I could see the potential of this humongous plot that to this day still has the highest stakes out of Sonic's history. I mean, Generations is a close second for similar reasons, but 06 basically had time erasure, world ending, the whole Iblis Trigger bit, AND you had to fight a literal bonafide god.

Also confession, I liked how they looked in this game vs everyone being squished down in following games. I know stylistically speaking the newer models are probably more on brand and I'm not a fan of the 06 mouths, but I like that they're a little taller and... realistic? I guess?

The stories, while maybe not being completely in character, and a little confusing considering other games (Blaze still confuses me), still had some really charming and amazing moments. Shadow's interactions with Omega and Rouge are some peak Team Dark bonding, Mephiles is downright diabolical and is really fun (and Dan Green basically being an evil Yami Yugi but unhinged and turned to 11? Good lord, brilliant shit), and his brief team up with Silver was actually pretty cool. Silver is such a fun design and concept, and I really felt for him considering the predicaments he was forced to live through- I especially hated that such a cool character came from a bad game, pretty much ruining any chance to play as him again in something other than the psp exclusive Rivals games or as a side character in spinoffs. Not to mention, the moment Blaze sacrificed herself for Silver and allowed him to see the bright blue sky in his own future? Heart jerking. And Sonic and Elise?... okay, the kiss was a little much, but their interactions really brought the best out of each other, and while Sonic doesn't really change, you can see him influence her for the better- and their last goodbye? Heart breaking.

All of this to say that 06 was Potential incarnate and I always knew it. P-06 just proves it from a mechanical angle, from speed being tweaked to all characters to Shadow being an even bigger combat driven badass, to Silver's MASSIVE improvement to his speed and psychokinetic powers and just straight up amazing visual improvements, and even just reworking characters like Amy, Knuckles, Tails, and Rouge to actually be fun to play as.

And the thing is, they didn't stop there. They added small little cut scenes too, added lip flaps and small animations in certain spots- this really intrigues me and just really makes me want to see the team try their hand at attempting to fix the story as well. By fix, I mean just fill in some plot holes, maybe write in some character interactions, and- the biggest thing for me personally- making Blaze's inclusion and non interaction/willing hunting of Sonic WAY LESS confusing. Another big plot hole: right at the beginning, where Elise sees Silver in a flaming battle field as she sees Sonic, only for this to never really happen or for her to be conscious to meet him as a child.

They don't have to do that. Lord knows DBZ has way more plot holes and is still enjoyed to this day. But maybe, just maybe, if they could? Oh the potential to take the worst game and turn it into the best game is ridiculously high. Hell, they could even make a plot about the original 06 being an alternative timeline and give a completely new ending here.

Even if they don't though, what the team has accomplished is still amazing. I reckon they're still going to be ironing out bugs and making tweaks- maybe even sprucing up the Last Episode and all the boss fights. If they make new content, maybe some levels for Knuckles and Omega would be fun.

I hope to be able to play some day.
