A: How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?

lol ty I love talking about my titles. For Army Style, I had the idea of naming it after some old gay slang that could be thematically appropriate somehow. So I opened Gay Talk by Bruce Rodgers and went looking. Luckily it starts with A so it didn't take that long to find something fitting lol. It means, and I quote, "Beating the cocksucker after the act." It's technically slang from the mid 60s apparently but close enough.

For War Bonds, the fic was untitled until it was finished and I finally had to force myself to think of a title. Then it just came to me, and I knew it was perfect, because I'm a sucker for thematically appropriate puns lol. It's war bonds as in the bonds you buy to support the war effort, and war bonds as in the friendships you make in the army that also happen to support the war effort.

G: Care to share a favorite crack fic?

I'm into crack taken seriously. A few of my faves are:

Cafestrovalva (Doctor Who) - maybe my favourite Doctor/Master fic. It's a silly, fluffy, cute tea shop pseudo AU, and it's perfect.

Sadie, Sadie (Pet Shop of Horrors) - I know I've recced this to you before, but it's just so good. A very silly premise (Leon goes from 0 to proposing to D within two days all because Jill makes a joke) taken to its logical conclusion with amazing characterization.

The Couple Down the Street (Reanimator) - idk if this counts as crack considering the source material lol, but it's ridiculous and fun and again something with a very silly premise taken to its logical conclusion. Established relationship Dan and Herbert move to the suburbs under assumed identities to try to keep a low profile while continuing their experiments in the basement, of course.

I'm realising I've made these headcanons with Arthur, Charles, Sadie and Mary-Beth only brushing and then styling Female!Reader's hair lol, I hope it's ok anyway 😭

Arthur Morgan :

Arthur sees you minding your own business reading a book Mary-Beth gave you earlier that week. Your hair is unkempt, making you look a little disheveled. At least, this is what Ms. Grimshaw complains about. 

Let’s just say you’re just not in the mood to brush your hair. You���ve been on guard duty all night long and could barely sleep in the morning because of Bill and Sean’s argument, your hairstyle is obviously not your priority right now. You just want to be left alone and read your book… or sleep, which is not possible since Sean is still being loud. 

Arthur slowly moves behind you and first proceeds massaging your neck to allow you to relax a little after you tell him you need some time alone. His response is genuinely innocent and a little funny. "Then we’re gonna be alone together." he says, despite being aware of your overall fatigue. 

You chuckle, he smiles and sits behind you. "Let’s get tis hair fixed, shall we ?" he tells you right after grabbing an ivory comb he stole while robbing a house. The comb is very small for his large hand, almost looking like a doll accessory ! 

He loves your hair, whatever type it is. He loves passing his hands through it, massaging your scalp before brushing your beautiful locks with the tip of his fingers. This feeling is so good and often leads him to relax. 

He receives some side-looks from the rest of the gang. Such a large tank-built man calmly handling the task of combing your hair is somewhat funny to watch ! Especially when he profusely apologises whenever a groan escapes your mouth. "Sorry, sweetheart. But ‘em knots won’t untangle ‘emselves." he sighs. His hands shake a little, he doesn’t want to hurt you. 

He’s surprisingly very good at brushing your hair with this tiny comb ! You don’t really know much about it, but he had years to practice combing different types of hair with Tilly, and then with Mary-Beth and Karen. 

Arthur loves your hair, he loves its touch on his rough hands. It sometimes tickles him, so he chuckles while combing one of your locks, causing you to smile in return. His laughs are so rare, but so genuine ! 

While gently combing your hair, Arthur hums a few old ballads Hosea used to sing to him back when he was two decades younger. Between a few soft notes, he will ask about your day, despite knowing what you’ve been up to and how much you’re longing for some rest. 

So you talk, you complain, you laugh. And Arthur keeps combing your hair while complimenting it between a hum and a compassionate response to your restless day. He knows you’ll feel better after telling him everything.

You’re so tired that you end up dozing off after some time. Arthur smiles when he sees how much you’re fighting to stay awake and ties your hair in a low bun, lifting you up. "Let's get you to bed." he whispers as he carries you to his tent where you will be able to sleep without being bothered. 

He smiles for the rest of the day, still feeling the touch of your hair on his skin. What an amazing experience, he will surely do it again ! He even writes a journal entry about your beautiful locks and the way you fell asleep while he was mumbling his lovely ballads.

Sadie Adler :

It’s been a long day. You and Sadie robbed a local bank in the morning, then were on guard duty for the rest of the day. Now that the sun is going down, you can finally get some rest ! 

As a reward for your exploits over the past few days, Dutch has gifted you with a brand new ebony hairbrush he bought… or stole. Nobody knows how he got it, since it’s not Molly’s. But you don’t really mind, it’s still a very lovely gift from a man who is not forcibly known for offering stuff. 

You try brushing your tangled hair, but end up grumbling because how painful it feels. You spent your entire day with your hair running freely, it even caught a few bullets you can’t even manage to brush away ! This is one of the consequences of not tying your beautiful long hair while doing your jobs !

Sadie loves watching you grumbling about your hair and then calmly gestures towards you to get your hairbrush. "Lemme handle this, honey." she smiles, giving you a very charming look. How can you resist her ? With that look, you can reach the moon and handle it to her on a silver plate.

Her smile is worth everything you own. From your tent to your belongings… to your own soul. You give her the hairbrush, watching her move behind you, kneeling down while inspecting your hair. Well. "I see three bullets, your hair is a helmet !" she laughs. This is going to be a painful experience, you’re sure about that. 

Sadie also used to wander with her hair running freely. She hated untangling it, and her husband was always there to brush her beautiful blonde locks. Now, she is going to do the same for you. She adores your hair and would compliment it all day long if she could.

She starts by brushing your very ends, just like she does with her own hair. A technique which is definitely worth it since you don’t feel any pain, despite knowing about the bullets stuck in your hair and how hard it will be to get them out. "Almost done, honey." she coos.

Sadie handles the bullets with such an ease that you don’t even feel any pain. In fact, the only thing which makes you realise these bullets are gone is the soft thud they’re making while hitting the ground. "Well... I guess there ain't any more bullets left !", she chuckles.

Having long hair herself, Sadie knows how it feels like to endure pain while brushing her long locks. She is cautious with you, which might look a little surprising to the eyes of the rest of the gang who mostly sees her as a ruthless and cold-blooded outlaw. But, deep down, Sadie has a huge soft-spot for you. 

Having your hair between her hands feels great. Sadie usually loves passing her hands through it before kissing your temp or the to your head whenever you’re sitting on the ground, or on a log by the fire. 

As soon as she finishes brushing your hair, Sadie ties it in a braid. It would be a shame to have your hair tangled one more time, so her creation is securely tied with an ivory bow Karen offered you a few weeks ago, for a reason you completely forgot. 

Sadie compliments your beauty for the rest of the evening. You look so beautiful with your hair tied such way ! You’re a gem to her eyes, remember it. 

Charles Smith :

You just came back from your guard duty with Charles. The two of you share the same schedule and, despite him being silent most of the time, you really enjoy his company. It’s calming enough to make you feel safe. 

However, this morning, when you got up and took your rifle to patrol around the hideout, you completely forgot to brush your hair. Sean teased you about your hair looking like a dirty broom, but you did not mind at all. Charles, on the other hand, felt amused but also a little concerned. 

He adores watching you taking care of yourself. The way you comb your hair, the way you wash your face, the way you tie and untie your corset… he doesn’t say much about it, but he loves your routine. And having you walk around the hideout with your messy hair causes him to gently ask you if he can brush your locks. He wants to try something on you.

"If you don’t mind, I’d like to brush your hair, darling." he smiles. How can you say no to him ? He gently leads you to a small crate a little outside camp and makes you sit on it, moving behind you with a comb he crafted himself and offered you. He even carved some subtle flowers on it !

You already had the opportunity to brush Charles’ jet black hair, away from the rest of the gang’s sight. He enjoyed it so much that he started doing the same with you, finding this moment very relaxing. 

Having him brushing your hair is a very private moment for Charles, as much as the short amount of free time he’s granted to spend with you. He doesn’t want anyone to interrupt these very lovely moments he can enjoy with you. Not even his friends. 

Unsurprisingly, Charles does not talk much. He wisely thinks about every single one of his sentences and the topics he wants to talk about. "Would you like to go hunting with me tomorrow ?" he asks, carefully moving the comb through your hair. Since you love spending time with him, you accept his offer ! 

Charles appreciates the feeling of your hair caressing his hands. He strokes some of your locks while brushing them, fascinated about their silky touch. 

Your hair is undoubtedly tangled, and Charles, despite being very soft and careful, can not avoid hurting you a little. "I know it hurts, darling. I’m sorry." he whispers, making you feel sorry too. He’s cautious, and covers you with sweet nicknames whenever you groan. He absolutely hates seeing you in pain. 

When he finishes brushing your hair, he proudly runs his fingers through your locks, trying to figure out how he’s going to tie them. "Wait a minute, please." he smiles. There are many options at the moment, and your hair is flowing so gracefully that he can’t pick which hairstyle would suit you the best ! 

Charles brushes your hair in a braid while humming a song his mother used to sing him when he was very young. He then proceeds decorating his beautiful work with some daisies and kisses your temple to thank you for letting him brush your hair. You look gorgeous with your hair tied like this ! And Charles is proud whenever you walk past him shaking your long flower-covered braid ! 

He’s not ready to have the rest of the girls asking him to do the same for their hair. But seeing you so happy with your hairstyle makes him melt from the inside. 

Mary-Beth Gaskill :

You had a tough day. While you were just having a drink at the saloon with Karen and Bill, some time after collecting debts from a rich feller, someone caught you into a brawl. You’re somehow lucky Williamson was there to get you out of trouble, he’s the one who led you back to camp.

Mary-Beth is shocked to see you hurt so, as soon as Bill helps you down, she catches your hand and leads you to the tent she shares with the rest of the girls. She is not going to leave you alone today ! "You’re coming with me, Y/N dear !" she says.

She first talks about her day, about Ms. Grimshaw screaming at her because she was just reading a book, about chores… just to cheer you up. And then, she simply proceeds untying your hair and grabs her hairbrush. She always loved brushing your beautiful hair, especially knowing she will decorate it with several flowers and bows when she will be done. 

Having long hair herself, Mary-Beth knows what if feels like to untangle her locks. She does it every morning, shortly before getting dressed. As far as you can recall, you have never seen Mary-Beth with messy hair, even when you’re waking up before her. She is so perfect, all the time !

You kindly ask her about the book she is writing. You can’t see it, but she actually blushes while brushing your hair. "It’s still some silly scribbles, but I’m getting to something !" she tells you while chuckling of excitement. 

She adores the texture of your hair, rolling a few of your locks around her fingers while telling you more about her book and about a character that appears to be very inspired by you. The way she describes this beautiful and strong lady reminds you of yourself ! You’re beautiful to her eyes, and she doesn’t hesitate reminding that to you while brushing your hair !

Mary-Beth kindly asks you what hairstyle you would prefer. "You know, you’d look amazing with a pompadour updo, don’t you think ?". You can’t resist her beautiful smile, so you shrug while she gets a comb out her stash and starts back-combing your locks to give you more volume. 

"I’m sorry if it hurts, I’ll try doing it nice and slow, okay ?" she smiles after hearing you groan. It hurts, indeed. Your hair looks funny during the process, people who walk past you laugh at your sight. Arthur even takes his sweet time drawing you, mercilessly nicknaming you Y/N the hedgehog. 

Mary-Beth is extra cautious when she combs your hair. She wants you to look exactly like the character she had in mind, with the same Edwardian updo which suits any hair-type depending of the technique. Since she knows how to brush Tilly and Karen's hair, there’s no doubt she will do an excellent job styling yours ! 

While tying your hair up, you can hear Mary-Beth hum Lakmé’s Flower Duet. She can’t get this opera out of her head since Dutch played it on his gramophone. And this gives her an excellent idea ! As soon as she finishes styling your hair, she calmly gestures you to stay still. "I’ll be right back, don’t move !". 

You wait for about five minutes to see Mary-Beth come back with a large flower crown she puts on the top your fabulous hairstyle. You look perfect enough to make her blush whenever you glance towards her direction. She kisses your cheek when she’s officially done. 

You spend the rest of your day wandering around the camp with your beautiful hairstyle and your flower crown. Mary-Beth melts from the inside whenever you walk past her. The girls are obviously jealous of you, and Mary-Beth is so proud when she hears compliments about your hairstyle ! It was definitely worth it, since your day is now much better !

Tbh he’s the entire reason I even started watching the show lmao. This perpetually sleepy, mildly destitute looking, and absolutely Done™ mf kept popping up on my dash and I was intrigued to say the least.

Anyways a little bit after that Valentines Day rolled around and I wanted to try my hand at writing for the fandom, and something as low stakes as a love letter seemed like a good place to start. Aizawa’s entry is definitely among my favorites from the whole of the series, definitely at the top of the heap of the ones written for MHA. I still don’t feel like I have a good enough grasp on his character to write a full fic, sadly, but this piece is pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.

From my With Love series I really liked the way Grimshaw, Strauss, and Swanson’s turned out. Unfortunately with their being some of the less popular characters those letters didn’t get much love. The funny thing is, I KNOW that if I swapped out any of their names for, say, Arthur or Sadie, that they would’ve gotten way more notes, but whatever. I’ve long since accepted that fandom’s fickle that way lol.

As for my goal... I guess I just want to be able to get stuff done in a timely manner lmao. Dk if that’s possible as my muse is a fickle thing, and I’m a perfectionist besides, but it doesn’t hurt to try, yeah?

6. Who would have really deep emotional thoughts at the middle of the night/ Who would have them in the middle of the day?

manner i feel like either one of them could have them at either time. tanner might be a little more likely in the middle of the night bc his sleep is a mess what with his nightmares and general fucked up-ness lol. morgan kind of is more triggered by things to have those kinds of thoughts so really it could happen whenever smth happens to make them happen.

jordam adam during the night, bc he doesn’t sleep as much as jordan obv so he spends a lot of time alone at night brooding thinking. jordan, probably not so much the middle of the day but right at the beginning in the morning. like while she’s psyching herself up to get up and start her day.

fadie (bc sarah is an actual name that evokes unpleasant thoughts lol) both of them, anytime, at the drop of a hat. they’re both really open though so idk if the thoughts would remain thoughts bc they’d both probably be really willing/eager to share them and talk them out, good or bad.

manner hmm. this is tricky actually. i wouldn’t say tanner is scared of the dark as in like he needs a nightlight lol, but sometimes he’s lowkey scared of nighttime in general because he doesn’t want to fall asleep. the whole nightmare deal again. he’s scared of sleeping ig, not the dark itself.

fadie neither of them. they can both see in the dark, so. lol.

19. Who loves to call the other one cute names?

- i actually liked drew. im so sorry to everyone who hates her but full offence, why. think about it this way ok, first of all drew became hc because silena died. silena was the traitor, the one who betrayed chb, yet after she died campers celebrated her as a hero? and then drew suddenly has to replace her and live up to idk that legacy she left behind,, when all of a sudden this girl named piper swoops in and takes her place. idk abt u but i wld be salty abt that too. not only that, but as an asian, the chances of drew having faced racism/bullying as a child is pretty high (she studies at brooklyn academy). which means that when she finds out shes a demigod, and arrives at chb where most of the campers are white (this is an assumption btw), she’d obviously be scared of being bullied for her skin color right?? so the first thing she wld do before the campers get to bully her is to bully them before they can do so. (sentence structure here is wack i apologize) ofc this might not even have happened, drew could have had a perfect childhood && was a b1tch for no reason, BUT EVEN THEN HER ROLE AS A BULLY WAS PRETTY VITAL BECAUSE THAT FURTHER SHOWED THE CONTRAST BETWEEN HER AND PIPER,, HIGHLIGHTING PIPER AS A HERO//GOOD CHARACTER,, AND THEREFORE MAKING READERS LIKE PIPER MORE. anyway stop hating on drew please. - travis and connor stoll r way too underrated. the two have been head counselors of the hermes cabin since luke was revealed as a traitor, can u imagine the stress? luke, the person they probably looked up to as a brother, betrayed them. and they didnt even have time to process this when they were  thrown the roles of being hcs. that would have been so stressful and i would probably have broken down if i were them. the stoll brothers taking turns to wake up at ungodly hours because a new camper is crying and homesick and terrified, the stoll brothers having to comfort and take care of new campers, having to deal with the amount of people in that cramped space because not enough campers are being claimed fast enough. having to resolve issues between campers in the hermes cabin all the time. the stolls arent just comedic relief, and we need to stop treating them as such

- hazel and frank (especially frank) need to be hyped up more. i hardly ever see anything about them. also yall seem to forget that frank was literally made praetor and that even hecate admired hazel and was willing to fight beside her because of how powerful she was

- annabeth isnt smarter than leo but neither is leo smarter than annabeth. ive seen a lot of discussions about who is smarter and heres my hot take on it: neither. theyre equally smart, just in different ways. leos a genius mathematically speaking. he has no issues solving math problems meant for people much, much older than him. annabeth on the otherhand, is great at strategies etc. she can make an army of 1000 more powerful than the enemy, even if theyre outnumbered. so in my opinion, both are equally as smart//u cant compare their intelligence, because their talents lie in two different areas.

- while i do agree rick riordan isnt a god and that hes bound to make mistakes,, AND that hes given us a lot of representation,, if the representation offends the people its sposed to represent, then theres a problem. im talking about piper as a poc and wearing feathers in her hair. im not a poc, so i cant speak for them on whether or not its wrong, because i dont know either. HOWEVER, i have seen multiple posts BY pocs talking about how they didnt really like rick’s representation of piper, and thats an issue. pocs have been and are still oppressed and discriminated against by many. as a white cis man, we cant really blame him for not knowing (tho he could have done a research,, asked some pocs,, idk), but by representing pocs in that manner, hes influencing impressionable kids/teens into thinking “oh pocs wear feathers in their hair all the time” etc, which isnt true. the pjo/hoo series is extremely successful, and kids who read the books will probably start forming inaccurate opinions on pocs. the amount of fan art that depicts piper with feathers in her hair dont help either. “but rick said so in the books, so its canon” yeah well rick isnt a god and he can get some things wrong at times. im not saying we should cancel him, im saying we should start educating ourselves and not spread false info like pocs wearing feathers in their hair all the time. also that snake song shit where she sang Summertime was just- yeah. bc heres the thing you can be racist, and still include minorities, but portray them in a racist way. And even then, ignorance isn't a thing to admire. Getting those facts wrong still has a major impact. It continues to perpetuate racist stereotypes.

- the fact that most of the strong female characters in the series refuse to be “girly”, and ngl i dont really like that. just because ure girly doesnt mean u cant be strong. 

- piper would have been a great way for him to start making the strong characters act girlier, but instead he went with the “I’m not like other girls” trope which is quite obnoxious to hear constantly, and I don’t think it’s necessarily great for younger girls to read that idea growing up.  the closest we've ever had to a strong female character who was also into "girly" things was Silena. when I was younger I admired Piper's "I'm not like other girls" thing, but then I got older and realized that the whole mentality of "not like other girls" is super obnoxious, and a little bit toxic

I have to say, I really enjoying Laws of Attraction. I really do. This book makes it up for PB to give up on heavy potential books like Distant Shores and Foreign Affairs. (The tragedy they did to those books even tho I still like them. Side Note: Slow Burn is a great book too) It feels like whoever the team is behind this book actually took their time to stay on course with the plot, characters have well placed personalities...it's just outstanding so far. This is a prime example of how Open Heart should had been. (Not to talk about that messy book.)

I even love all the characters.

The MC: There have been some incompetent MC's that makes me want to choke them, but this one I like.

Gabe Ricci: Sorry but not actually sorry Ethan and Sam stans but Gabe to me is a perfect written boss. He is much more chill. He recognizes MC's work ethnics unlike Ethan who belittles the MC, keep their relationship a secret, and doesn't appreciate the MC until the third book when the MC had to save his ass from a huge lawsuit. And Sam who would risk everything and destroy his/her home for the nanny. Like, I love the slow burn with him and MC. Like he knows he want MC but he want to focus on the case and I can respect that. Especially, if he's your route, It looks like MC is the one who perusing Gabe and when Gabe is fighting to not cross that taboo line, MC goes to have these random hookups. The angst and drama is keeping me interested. And I know it is working because I see people in the fandom PISSED that Gabe isn't dicking them down yet. Lol. I love it.

Ashlinn: What a sweet angel. She is perfect wifey material. I love how she started as a quiet nervous person and by each chapter, she grows into a much more confident woman. That chapter with the actors and she placed Beau in his lane, I lived. If she was my type, I would romanced her with my MC. Maybe in my next run of the book.

Beau: Ok I knew Beau would be that fuckboy character just because he has family ties to the firm. Typical frat boy. I knew we would hate him, especially after he took credit from MC's hard work, but again the character development of him to be more serious just make me like him. He earned extra points for taking the heat for MC and the rest of the team in today's chapter. I would loved if he was an LI option.

Martin: I know he supposed to be the villain and be this "I'm better than you" jackass but I can't be mad at him. Again the character development. He's trying to stay snarky but he's slowly warming up to the team. It's cute that he thinks he's MC's rival, but we all know. But real tip, the man needs to be laid. MC would help.

Gigi: Sis! Queen! Ride or die! I. LOVE. THIS. WOMAN! Just her everything is just god tier. I know she mentioned a girlfriend in the beginning of the book, but what would it been if our wlw sisters get to romance her? The dynamic between them would be powerful. (I wish my MC could romance her. I'll put a ring on that finger fast.)

Sadie: Boss ass bitch. I like her. I seen people upset that she yelled at the team in the chapter, even tho it is the team's fault to give Marcus information before them. Honestly, they could had waited to tell Marcus after they notify Gabe and Sadie. I've even seen folks on here saying "She does nothing for the case but judge" that's the point. She literally put trust in the case in Gabe and the team's hands and Gabe keep her up to date about it. So she has all the right. Plus, she the type to like it when people go for what they want. I saw comments about when Mac requested a room by the lake at her home. Sadie expressed the expression "Closed mouths don't get feed" and I kinda respect her for that.

Marcus: Yeah I dig this character because I can relate to him. As a black man myself, I get why he don't be too comfortable with lawyers. In RL, it is so hard for black people to trust the justice system. There would be so much evidence that proves that you're innocent but the police would do the bare minimum or none at all policing because they made up their minds that you did it. Then there would be slimy lawyers that tells you to plea guilty because you can't win. So I can understand why Marcus acting this way. Yes, he should believe in this team more, but I understand where he is coming from. (Sorry that I put real issues in this lol) Now to the juicy topic. I knew Marcus wanted MC since that walk they did in a couple of chapters before. And yes it is so unprofessional and unethical for a lawyer to sleep with their clients. But, did I spend the night with him regardless? Yes. Yes I did. To be fair, Marcus asked MC for comfort and relief. MC never showed any interest in Marcus or perused him. He ASKED out of trust. So to me this part got me actually thinking. Should my MC give in to him so he can keep the trust in MC or MC turn him down and he would change his perspective of MC later down the road. Either or I feel like consequences is going to happen and as I am an angst trash, I went and gave Marcus the night of his life. If it's not your cup of tea (Again shout out to the wonderful wlw ladies out there) totally understandable. But I like Marcus. If he becomes a potential LI which it looks like then Gabe has some serious competition because I might switch up.

The Hookups: I enjoy them. I like Lisa (The Robin sprite I think is her name in this book. I can't remember. How awkward it is to be playing The Nanny Affair while playing this book because of Robin/Lisa) And Tyler. Yes my MC did do that mlm threesome with Tyler and the PI (who name I also forgot). Yes MC gave the PI that good dick while Tyler watched. I feel robbed slightly that my MC didn't dick down Teddy after we made out with him in the club but the threesome made up for it. These hookups wouldn't happen if Gabe and Ashlinn isn't giving us this wonderful slow burn romance. But I enjoyed it.

Overall, I really like this book. I say this book is A tier. It has it moments like the group trust trip..that was weird but still. A tier. Close but not S tier like Blades. (That book is *chef kiss* Closer we are to the what will be insanity that is Blades 2 and I can not wait!) I hope this is the same team that is doing Crimes of Passion. (The acronym of Crimes of Passion is CoP...I see what they did there.) That book screams LoA's spin off. But still I'm really enjoying LOA. I just hope this not going to be a standalone book. It said it is a series at the beginning of the book, but PB been shady about that lately. Let it stay as a series. Hopefully it is a series.

Also the wildest. He scared Liz and Rorke more times than they can count by doing something not so safe. 

Is very protective of his younger sisters.

Has a close relationship with Merrick. 

When he was a toddler he would climb out of his crib in the middle of the night and play with his toys. That’s when Liz and Rorke knew it was time to get them toddler beds. 

Even though his interests changed over the years, he still holds a very close bond with his twin. 

His favorite food is chicken tacos. If he could he would eat them every day. 

Even though he’s more extroverted, he’s pretty shy around new people. It takes him a bit to warm up to them.

Cooper: 

The only one to be born with pine green eyes.

Has a very big heart and is quite sensitive. He’s definitely one of those sympathetic criers. 

Just like his brother he is also very protective of his younger sisters. 

When he was a toddler his favorite thing to do was finger paint. And half the time it did not stay on the paper. 

Broke his ankle while roller-skating when he was 10. Elliott and Sadie drew pictures on his cast afterwards. 

He went through a phase where all he wanted for lunch was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Liz didn’t care she found it cute and it’s not like pb&j is hard or time consuming to make.  

Has a very close relationship with uncle Logan. He loves doing things with him, even if it’s just finger painting. 

Liz picked out his name because she liked it. However she’s not a fan of the actual meaning of it though. It means ‘barrel maker’. 

He looks more like his dad than his brother does. 

Sometimes he’ll sit with Keegan in the rec-room and read with him or he’ll paint while Keegan reads. 

Sadie: 

She’s daddy’s little princess through and through. She had Rorke wrapped around her finger the moment she was born. 

She’s 14 months younger than her brothers’. They knew they wanted another kid at some point it just happened a lot sooner than expected. 

She was good sleeper as an infant and both Liz and Rorke were ecstatic because of it. Having three kids all under the age of two is a lot of work and very tiring. 

She looks like a mix of both parents, but has her father’s personality. 

A tomboy growing up, she also loved her barbies and would play for hours on end with them. 

As she got older she became more blunt which did cause a lot of problems. Sadie did not have a filter for her voice. 

Get’s along great with Keegan and uncle Logan. Keegan has that laid back attitude where you feel comfortable and Logan is just the fun, loving uncle. 

Her favorite colors are blue, light green and maroon. 

One of her favorite hobbies is to read. And has multiple bookshelves filled with books.

Her name means ‘princess’. 

Madelyn: 

Maddie was not planned at all. Both Liz and Rorke thought they were done having kids, three was enough and then Liz ended up falling pregnant. 

She’s the only one that ended up having blonde hair and blue eyes, while her siblings have dark brown and brown eyes besides Cooper who ended up with pine green eyes. 

She’s a music junkie and you’ll always find earbuds in her ears as she does things. 

Not very talkative, she prefers to be quiet. But if she has something to say she’ll say it. 

Had to wear glasses since she was six months old. 

Her nicknames are Maddie, Mads, sweetheart (Rorke) and sweetie (Liz).

Looks up to her older siblings, Cooper a bit more due to his relaxed and calm personality. 

Liz was the one to pick out her name cause she liked how Madelyn Rorke rolled off the tongue. 

When she was a toddler she has this plush dog that she took everywhere with her. 

Surprisingly got along great with Merrick. Then again maybe Merrick just softened up with have so many kids around.

Hey, that's not boring at all! Arthur is very important, I'm excited for this :D thank you. (I’m sorry it took such a long time)

How I feel about this character

This is gonna be a very generic answer that I assume most players share about him and it’s what makes him one of the best main characters in a game... But... I just love his personality, how real he feels. How he has these two sides, a rough outlaw and a tender man. I can't get over how much I love his journal and the fact we can read his thoughts so easily, it's such a great way to see his true self. And he's also very funny in it, which is another bonus :D. Another thing for me is that I started playing this game in the middle of the pandemic and when everything was closed and quarantined, I played the game like every single day for several months. Arthur grew so close to my heart in that time, I actually loved spending time with him (I know that sounds pathetic, bear with me) and exploring the world with him. I took every single thing that happened or that we found very seriously as if I was there with him experiencing it. But like I said, I feel like a lot of people have a similar positive relationship with him, that's what makes him so loved. We feel like he's our actual friend and that's why the ending is extra heartbreaking. He's gonna be forever in my heart :'D

Sadie 100%, Hosea, once again John, Charles, but also Sean, Lenny, Javier, Tilly, Mary-Beth. Outside the gang definitely Hamish, Albert.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I don't know if this counts here because it involves another character but I don't think I have anything else unpopular about Arthur. So when I first played the game, I actually rooted for him and Mary and I enjoyed those missions with her? I think the mission when they are in the Saint Denis theatre is really sweet, especially when it lets you to try to make a move on Mary but Arthur is so awkward and he backs out at the last minute lol.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Well besides the obvious "I wish he survived and helped John and Charles build Beecher's Hope", I just wish he had a lot more happy moments in the game? Everything around him is always crumbling, I just want him to be happy. Maybe another thing - I saw some people say how his story would be better if he started being more honorable from his own accord and not because he got sick, and I guess I have to agree with that (however, I played him fully high honor from the beginning, so to me he is always like that :D). But overally I like his story how it is... Thank you so much for the ask! ♥

Sadie has this love hate relationship with her,

Cause she knows her mother abandoned her and was ashamed of her and didn’t truly want her

But part of her can’t accept that. Or at least, she can’t bring herself to blame her mother

She can’t accept that her mother just didn’t truly love her and abandoned her because she just didn’t care

She’d rather redirect that resentment towards herself for existing and make the argument that it’s her fault for being such a wretched thing to exist that her mother was right to abandon her to die.

And in the Villain AU specifically,

She’d rather direct that pain onto Gyro

The man who she had no connection with who was never part of her life

Unlike her mother, who ten years, Sadie thought cared for her and loved her.

So it’s easier for her to project her anguish and resentment on to him by association to make her feel better. She’s that deep in denial and delusion basically

Alright so, after reading that, my only sane answer is to take Sadie away from you for a bit and write the following cute fluff before I burst into tears:

Sadie is tired and it shows. Her eyes droop every minute, her head nearly drops to the table every five minutes, and dark semi-circles line underneath her eyes. After taking one look at her, Gyro understood that she could literally drop asleep at any time. He urges her to her bedroom, and she's too tired to resist so she complies and drags herself into her bed. But he doesn't stop there. He fixes her a warm cup of apple cider, places it into her smaller hands, and sits on a chair next to the bed. What he does next surprises even him:

He leans over her and plants a kiss on her forehead. He hovers close enough above her that she can feel his heat as gentle as the cup in her hands, and while she feels out of place receiving such affection, she doesn't fight it. So, she sips on the cooling apple cider and drifts into sleep that takes her to the following morning after the sun rises from the horizon. Her father is nowhere to be found, but she still feels groggy and lethargic, so she stays in bed for a while still and listens to the birds chirping outside and the voices of her Papá and Daddy talking to each other in the yard.

Sorry, but I just like to imagine that even Sadie can find some sort of happiness in the world after all that she's been through. So whatever angst you write towards me, I'll always answer with warmth lol.

But yeah, her story is very sad and tragic. It made me feel really down inside and yearning for some...sort of favorable solution. One that's not so tragic. And since JoJo is a multiverse with an infinite number of possibilities...well, I think just about anything can happen. 😉

My initial impression of Kieran was that he was an anxious, weak nerved kiss-up. I mean he doesn’t make any attempt to fight back when Arthur captures him, even if he stands there and does nothing. Dude’s got a gun. Makes zero attempt to go for it. My initial thoughts was he was too cowardly to even fight back, when in reality Arthur was running for him with a lasso. His hands are literally full. Who Arthur is doesn’t really matter; he doesn’t have a weapon drawn and is clearly trying to take him alive. Unless he’s a massively terrible shot, he could’ve easily shot Arthur. Clearly he’s more afraid of what Colm will due to him than just dying(which makes sense, especially with how he went out : )))) ), so it really would’ve been in his best interest to die trying to kill Arthur instead of being captured, most likely killed, and most likely tortured beforehand. Far as I can figure, reasons for just surrendering would’ve been

Fear (logical, but with his biggest fear being whatever Colm would do to him, doesn’t seem as likely, even if he was straight up panicking)

Pacifism (not saying he’s a pacifist, but he’s definitely not a fighter by nature, despite his will to live) 

Once he’s captured, he holds out for about a month in sh*t conditions. He breaks once they turn their violent attention to him, but even then he still tried to hold out. The only reason I can think of why he wouldn’t just talk is fear of what Colm would do to him if he made it out alive. If he was scared that the Van Der Lindes would kill him after he talked, he could’ve stayed quiet longer, I guess, though really who could hold out when you’re being threatened with castration lmao.

After the fact, I expect my initial impression to be right. It wasn’t. I mean, I was 100% right about him being a genuinely nice person, not exactly cut out for outlaw life, and not a rat or weaselly person. Things I were wrong about were his general demeanor. 

He’s a naturally positive and friendly person. Despite being constantly picked on and flat out threatened, he’ll even greet Sadie(who is probably most likely to kill him in the beginning, let’s be honest) with a level of confidence I didn’t expect. He doesn’t slink around her with his head down, but is 100% aware that she hates him, and I’ve never heard him try to change that. He’ll greet her, but goes out of his way to let her know that “I’m here and realize that you hate me so I’m giving you space”. Anyone else who calls him “O’Driscoll”, he’ll get upset and correct them. Sadie straight up tells him to die and he doesn’t say boo. I love that he is aware of her pain and doesn’t try to change her feelings about him just so he can sleep better at night. He plays the long game; respecting her boundaries, and not giving her any other reasons to hate him, hoping that someday she’ll maybe at least not despise him for just being connected to her enemies in the past. He could b*tch and moan about how he had nothing to do with Jake’s murder; he wasn’t there, he didn’t pull the trigger, and he didn’t want that to happen. He really is innocent. But he leaves that and her the f*ck alone, the only contact he initiates is just general politeness. She makes real threats, and he has ever reason to believe her, but he still has the balls to not cower around her. If anyone else in the gang makes any kind of “O’Driscoll” comment, he gets genuinely irritated and corrects them, even if it’s hopeless. Not just the women, who(save for Sadie and Mrs. Grimshaw) aren’t a threat. But he’ll get upset and snap back at Arthur and Javier that he’s not an O’Driscoll. I don’t believe for a second that Kieran thinks he could beat either of them in a fight. He’s not a fighter, and he’s also not stupid. He’s survived about half his life being beaten around. The reason he’s survived could be luck, but also him knowing how far he can press his luck with very dangerous people. I used to find it amusing in the beginning when he’d snap back, because like. Lmao, you really wanna get upset with Arthur? Seriously? Dude. Don’t go there.

He stands up for himself, and is confident enough in himself to be as bold as to say to Arthur’s face, that he’s not a bad person, and that’ll he’ll warm to him eventually. That also caught me off guard, because I was under the general assumption “god this kid is me. anxious af, doesn’t like people, just likes horses”. I projected far too much lmao, because despite him feeling more comfortable with horses, he’s pretty outgoing, in a confident way. If people are just indifferent to him, he has no problem going out of his way to greet people with confidence. When he’s being bullied, he’s ballsy enough to stand up for himself, and when people are genuinely nice to him, he’ll show signs of being flustered/anxious, likely due to the fact he probably has very little experience with kindness. Whatever kindness he experienced outside family was most likely fake and extremely conditional. He never made any comments about having relationships of any kind with anyone. His life has been about survival. He knows how to not press his luck with the wrong people, knows basic social manners(how to be friendly without being overbearing, how to give people space, and even when he helped Molly out of the stagecoach), but I feel like he has the least experience in healthy relationships. Relationships where someone is actually nice to him. That’s also why I’m 1,000% peeved that we didn’t really get to befriend him. Watching him come out of his shell more was so nice. Save for his massive guilt about Jack(which wasn’t even his fault anyway), he was finally starting to feel like he belonged there. Sh*t hurts man.

I think the thing that caught me most off guard was his level of confidence that you really get to see in his fishing side mission.

Arthur says that he’s(Arthur) not that great a fisherman, and Kieran, not missing a beat, comes back with “But I am! *laughs* I’ll teach you something.”, all of which happens seconds after Kieran is done straight up mocking Arthur’s teasing of him. If I hadn’t spent 5,000 years wandering around camp, and getting to see everyone’s personalities that you’d miss if you flew through story mode, that mission would’ve made my head spin. If your impression of Kieran is “soft scared horse boy”, there’s so much that happens in like, a minute that’d throw you off.

Arthur asks Kieran if he’s going fishing

Kieran, likely caught off guard by someone going out of their way to interact with him in a non-hostile way, says yes

Arthur, incapable of just being nice to him follows up with a threatening tone “... or running back to Colm O’Driscoll?”, bc f*ck this guy actually knowing I’m starting to warm up to him, I have to be a Big Tough Outlaw bc I am a Bad Man

Kieran, irritated and a bit nervous now, snaps back that of course he’s not 

Arthur responds by bumping his fist against Kieran’s shoulder/chest, gives an amused chuckle, and responds with “pffft, I’m just joking w/ u lol relax”  (I love this interaction because it really shows, at least to me, that Arthur is genuinely starting to like Kieran. instead of continuing along the lines of “watch yourself”, his tone and body language gestures that “I don’t mean it, I’m just messing with you”. Even if he’s still being an *ss, it’s not like his previous interactions. The playful physical contact, non-menacing laugh, and “I’m just kidding w/ u” comment are all friendly gestures. He wouldn’t do any of those if he actually didn’t like Kieran. Arthur’s not a touchy-feely “I’ll fake like I’m your friend so I can slit your throat later” kind of person)

Kieran’s nervousness instantly melts away and he responds with “wow. ur so funny. hah hah. rlly had me goin there. ur hilaaaaarious.” he’s 100% done and just rolls his eyes at this point.

Arthur just goes “shut up”, and I love the way he says it this time bc he’s more like. Offended/irritated that he’s being sassed instead of actually meaning “shut up or else”. He’s all “>:((( shut up brat” and it’s cute lmao. 

Not two seconds after Arthur tells Kieran to shut up, he absolutely doesn’t and invites him fishing. Like, a genuine “hey wanna go fishing?” and not like, a “desperate for your approval, please give me more opportunities to prove myself to you”.

Arthur says he’s not a great fisherman, and Kieran responds with “Yeah but I am!”, laughs, and says he can teach Arthur something.  I found this part super fascinating, because as someone with severe anxiety, my response would’ve been totally different. I’m confident in a few areas; I know what I’m good at, and what I’d be semi-competent at teaching people, but if someone-- especially someone higher on the social ladder than I am-- said that they weren’t good at something, that I was really good at, I always try and downplay things so as not to make the other person feel like they’re lesser than me. I like to think my art skills are decent, so if that kind of situation came up “I’m not a great artist”, my response would be more like “Heh neither am I, but I know some tricks that have made things a lot easier. I can show them to you!” Kieran straight up told Arthur Morgan that he’s a great fisherman, and could teach Arthur something. Former O’Driscoll, teaching Dutch’s right hand man something. That was a cocky move, even if it’s true. I love that he has the confidence to flat out say that without even backpedaling. Kid knows his worth and isn’t afraid to just blurt it out.

Arthur responds with a friendly “Sure”. Not like an “yeah alright fine”, but more like how he responds to people who considers friends. Come to think of it, other than certain instances where Kieran pushes his luck here, Arthur is friendlier/less hostile and grumpy with Kieran than he is with Sean lmao. Granted, Sean is uhhh, overbearing and obnoxious, but Arthur sees him as a younger sibling, not an ex-O’Driscoll. 

On their way to the beach, Kieran brings up past vs present. “who would’ve thought we’d be going fishing together when it wasn’t that long ago that I was tied up on the back of your horse begging for mercy?” He says it with such a light hearted tone like it wasn’t even a big deal. He could’ve died from dehydration/starvation/the cold, and he’s literally like “isn’t life funny?” Don’t know whether to be impressed that it didn’t leave him with serious trauma and resentment or said that maybe he doesn’t see it as that big a deal because he’s had worse. Either way, the way he says it is interesting to me.

Ofc Arthur has to remind him “how do you know I’m not dragging you away from camp to kill you?” bc again, can’t let this kid know I’m actually starting to like him. He Must Know that I am a Big Bad Threat.  “..because I saved your life”  “ya and every day I don’t kill you I’m saving yours” “you don’t mean that” “yes I do I am Serious so shut it” Kieran knows Arthur well enough that while the threat is still a touch unnerving, he has the guts to point out that he doesn’t mean it. he knows Arthur well at this point, and despite the slight possibility he might actually mean that, he choses to believe it’s just Arthur being... Arthur.

Throughout the trip, Kieran opens up about camp life and his past, and in general Arthur doesn’t have anything that nice to say. Arthur’s genuinely a nice person, but I wouldn’t call him “soft”, so that doesn't’ surprise me. Despite this, he’s not exactly mean to Kieran like he used to be. He’s not remotely sympathetic, but at the same time he wouldn’t be for really anyone else, either. Maybe the women bc women, but. However, towards the end, when Kieran talks about losing his family and being on his own since then, Arthur does comment along the lines of “well, look at it this way, you’ll never be alone again”. I could be misinterpreting it, but I think that’s Arthur’s way of saying “you’re one of us now”. Can’t really say anything nice to him or show sympathy, but “you’ll never be alone again” could’ve been his way of trying to comfort him in an offhand sort of way.

Not what Arthur meant, but I couldn’t help but laugh when Kieran was like “do you think Dutch trusts me now?” me and Arthur both laughed, sad thing is I laughed bc I’m like “yo Dutch don’t even trust Arthur lmaooo, shoot for something actually obtainable Kieran”

This is already five pages longer than I intended it to be lmao, but literally my entire point is that my impression of Kieran had been that he was a soft, nervy person with low self confidence. The way I see it, all the evidence proves that he’s a lot more than a lot of people give him credit for. 

He is a sweetheart by nature; I really don’t think there’s a mean bone in his body. He’ll stick up for himself and get irritated, but I can’t think of a single instance where he did or said anything mean-spirited. He’s helpful for the sake of being helpful, and is grateful for any actual kindness shown to him. He grows to genuinely care about the gang’s overall well being, and goes so far as to flat out state he’d give his life for Jack’s if he could, despite Jack being a brat to him in the beginning. But despite the fact that he’s a kind hearted individual, he will stand up for himself, and if the follower glitch dialog is accurate, he will engage in combat if he has to. A lot of his dialog is pretty snarky too, which I thought was interesting. I thought he’d be a lot more jumpy and nervous during a shootout, but again I was wrong.  To me all evidence points to his anxiety/nervousness all being circumstantial. It really only presents itself when his safety is actively being threatened, and in foreign situations(people going out of their way to be friendly to him; catches him off guard). So yeah, I think you could technically call him an anxious person and it be somewhat accurate, but he’s not anxious like people today are. His anxiety isn’t “across a broad range of circumstances”, as are anxiety disorders. I think it’s more accurate to say that Kieran is a pretty self confident, moderately outgoing person with a bright personality, despite the sh*t he’s been and still going through. And that’s what I love about him.

I started out feeling bad for him, with a touch of amusement, just for the fact that I really did pity him. He just seemed like such an unfortunate person. I felt really bad having to bring him in, because my general impression was that he’s really not meant for the outlaw life and was probably a nice person. Hated having to bring him in, but having read his bio before playing the game, I was at least relived that his position as part of the gang meant that me bringing him in wasn’t going to result in having to be the cause of his demise. Him being tied up for weeks made me feel really bad since I couldn’t do sh*t to help him out any, because Arthur didn’t give a damn. Poor thing didn’t even have shelter when it rained in 40℉ weather, and didn’t even have his coat on. Once he was free to move around, I was a bit surprised at how confident he was in greeting Arthur. Save for Tilly, in my game, Kieran greets Arthur more than anyone else in camp. Always bright and cheery. Seeing as how I spent most of my time in camp on the outskirts doing chores(see also: avoiding Dutch lmao), running into Kieran a lot was unavoidable, especially because Arthur’s morning routine is cooking breakfast by the campfire. Eeeevery morning, there’s Kieran. Literally can tell what hour it is by where Kieran is and what he’s doing, and vice versa. If it’s 2pm, I know exactly where Kieran is. With how much time I spent at camp, it didn’t take any time at all before I was very familiar with him. I never had any negative feelings or suspicion towards him, but other than our shared fondness for horses, I had no real reason to like him(pity isn’t exactly a reason to like someone after all). But I grew fond of him so quickly ever since dragging him down from Colter, especially after he saved Arthur. He was brave enough to stick up for himself, brave enough to risk his life saving Arthur, and brave enough to state that he’s “one of you now”. He does more than his fair share of chores every day, stays out of everyone’s way, and remains bright and friendly despite his sh*t circumstances. Oh and he loves horses. Those are the reasons I grew attached to him, and still am. I thought he was just 1889 me, but now I realize he’s a lot of what I wish I was. I love his confidence, despite the fact that he has no one backing him up. Ever. I have supportive people backing me, and yet if someone says sh*t to my face it’s going to make me seriously question my worth. Kieran Duffy fights back anxiety, plants his feet and defends himself. I’m f*cking proud of that boy.

Oh my GOD this is embarrassingly long lmao, but I f*cking love Kieran Duffy with all my heart and I feel like so many overlook how strong he actually is. He’s not an ~anxious soft boy~. He’s sweet, and kind, hard working and self reliant, open and honest, confident and snarky, and is just overall such a lovable, wonderful person. He’s not a weak little snitch, nor a skittish people-pleaser. He wants to be liked for who he is, and while he’s always trying to prove himself, he plays the long game and lets that happen naturally. He’s not a boot licker like Micah. I hate that a lot of the gang gave him such constant sh*t, and that despite the fact no one liked him, Micah was treated like “one of the gang”, when he said so much sh*t. Motherf*cker made comments about throwing out the women since they were “dead weight who you can’t even f*ck”, and older “less useful” members like Uncle and Swanson. Meanwhile Kieran works himself to death on a daily basis, but all the Big Men of camp pretty much hold his past over him constantly, despite the fact that he didn’t have a choice, and wasn’t even really part of the gang. It’s just really sh*tty and I hate it lmao.

I’m going to shut up now and pray to GOD this doesn’t make it into the tags or so help me I’ll tag it later lmao.

Like he TOLD her he was done with her. Well, I have a fix-it fic called The Lily Farm which is Arthur x Mary Beth. I like them together, obviously, but they are not canon. I have no romantic OTPs, per canon. But Arthur x Charles BroTP is certainly my heart and soul. I also really love Arthur x John as a BroTP, and I wish their relationship had been developed a little bit more in-game.

favorite episode mission:

oh dear, but there are so many? I love the train robbery mission with Arthur, Sean, Charles, and John. I feel we get a LOT of good characterization in that mission, for all four of them. I LOVE John’s “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a robbery!” because it reminds me SO MUCH of Dutch, and that’s just good writing. I also love the Hamish Sinclair missions in Chapter 6. I feel they offer respite to Arthur. They give him joy at the end of his life, and that is their sole purpose. I also really love the mission up at Hanging Dog Ranch with Sadie. It’s sad and violent as hell, but that interaction with the two of them in the end–”They made me a monster, Arthur,” and when she tells him he’s the best man she’s known since her dead husband. Like, fuck.

saddest death:

Okay, but Arthur? ;_; Granted, I was spoiled and not shocked by his death, as the writing pretty much gets you there. In terms of sheer shock and sadness, I would have to say that Lenny’s death really confused me. At first, they give you the option in-mission to “Help Lenny.” So you run there, but he’s shot good, and he dies immediately. There’s no way to help. So instead, Arthur just…kneels there sadly for a moment, amidst the ensuing massacre of St. Denis, frozen in his despair, just to mourn him in the moment. It’s…devastating?

Um, Arthur’s horse in the end is also another…death that I really can’t even talk about anymore. flskjdf;alskjfa;slkjdfas;lk

favorite season chapter:

This is tough. I love Chapter 2 for its innocence, and how we get to spend all this time getting to know everyone when they’re happy and carefree. But Chapter 6 is really where the wealth of the story is. It’s the comeuppance, the apotheosis, the final confrontation. It’s all of Arthur’s redemption arc in a single punch. It’s Sadie Adler’s chapter to shine. It’s Arthur’s relationship with John. It’s small moments in which Arthur takes small actions to make big differences in the lives of strangers. So while it’s the saddest chapter, it’s also the most beautiful to me, in terms of the story. 

least favorite season chapter:

Chapter 1. I honestly think the tutorial is a little overbearing. I get its function now, as it does a lot to establish the sort of desperation of their new circumstances, but it is QUITE long. Also i know everyone loves to hate Chapter 5, and while I agree it’s quite grueling and very violent and scary for Arthur, it is like, a fantastic underworld chapter. It is necessary to complete the narrative. Arthur has to survive such a tremendous trial in such pressurized circumstances. Without it, he doesn’t fully come to terms with Dutch’s madness, and he never acknowledges the lengths to which he must go to make a full transformation and achieve his redemption.
