Ooooh, thank you, I'm excited! [Weird Questions For Writers Ask Game] 1. What font do you write in? Do you actually care or is that just the default setting?

I write in Calibri in 11 point font. I think it was the default on a word processor a while ago and I just got stuck on it. If I really have trouble writing a scene I throw it around in 13 point comic sans and it helps.

2. If you had to give up your keyboard and write your stories exclusively by hand, could you do it? If you already write everything by hand, a) are you a wizard and b) pen or pencil?

No, a computer keyboard is an essential part of how I articulate myself, but when I was in 7th grade I filled an entire notebook by hand, in specifically black sparkle jelly roll pen. It was a self-insert story where I was the ward of a vampire in victorian times and he was very impressed with how brave I was in the face of all my Terrible Trials. It was the 90s. I have no other defense.

3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed? I need three beverages on my left side (water, hot coffee, cold caffeine beverage) and absolute silence. I have to put my feet up and be able to make faces at my laptop and research absolutely mad things For The Sake of Getting it Right. I either hyperfixate and write 9000 words in a sitting or I Cannot Make The Words Go and I open up my google doc, correct four words, and close it in disgust. I am not a role model.

4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?

Fragrant. I love this word. I want it in every fic ever forever. Tell me your smell combinations, fanfic authors. Tell me all of them. I love it as a detail. I'm a simple queer, I see a character's shirt described as fragrant with woodsmoke, I go feral.

5. Do you have any writing superstitions? What are they and why are they 100% true?

If I post a work in progress, it won't be finished. The hyperfixation will crash and be utterly unreliable for updates, and a schedule of Chapter. Chapter. CHAPTERCHAPTERCHAPTER. INTERLUDE. CHARACTER STUDY CHAPTER CHAPTER CHAPTER SURPRISE FLUFF KINK YOU DIDN'T KNOW I WAS INTO FLUFF COMMUNICATION TRAUMA HEALING CLIFFHANGER no update for 11 months. It's deeply cursed. I can't stop myself.

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

Listening to characters sit around and bullshit with each other in my head. There's so much that doesn't get written down but I love the mental images of having my blorbos chilling with me on the couch.
