TMNT 2012 Headcanon: Shinigami & Donnie
Overall, Shinigami’s favorite Turtle is Mikey cause he’s funny and they set up playdates for their cats, however Shini’s favorite Turtle to mess with is Donnie.
When Shini first met the Turtles she made it her goal to figure out how she can pissed each one of them off, cause she enjoys mischief and annoying people with things that personally get to them. Leo and Raph she easily got under their skin but Donnie was surprisingly tricky. At first she thought she could get to him by doing the obvious “magic vs science” debate cause she’s a witch and he’s a science guy, but Donnie didn’t bite. He would tell her that he has in fact came across magical curses and other paranormal things numerous times so he agrees with her and there’s no debate.
This infuriated her, beginning to believe that Donnie is a tough nut she’ll never crack, but she soon learned that she has to stop overthinking it and talking insane theories and topics of magic but to instead hit him with the stupid conspiracy theories and make him think that she doesn’t believe in the things that have been scientifically proven to be true.
So Shini would walk up to Donnie and say something like “The earth is flat”, “The moon landing was fake” or “Gravity is not real” and then she would stand back and watch the volcano explode.

Ghosts of Our Days: Chapter Thirteen
Chapter Thirteen: Fire in a Denny's Parking Lot at Three AM
<- Chapter Twelve
A/N: Once again, co-written with @theosb0rnway! I had a lot of fun with this one!
Four Months Earlier
Taking a laser shot to the leg was not what Casey Jones had in mind when Raph suggested "a peaceful Sunday in the lair".
At first, it had been a peaceful Sunday: Crognard, splitting a pizza, then Leo came in saying Donnie had found a group of Kraang a little too close to the lair for comfort. Leo, Casey, April, and Raph suited up and headed into the tunnels to fight off the unwelcome disturbance, an easy task until they were ambushed from behind by yet another group of Kraang bots.
Before he was able to turn around, a laser hit Casey directly in the back of the leg, just above where her skate was when it was retracted.
"FUCK!" He used her hockey stick to keep from falling over, spinning around and continuing to block shots despite the searing pain from his leg. Raph noticed immediately, running over to
Casey's side and stabbing every Kraang bot he saw with his sai. Casey made a mental note to piss Raph off more, as his anger doubled at making him extremely hot, in Casey’s not so humble opinion, and the bots no longer stood any chance against him.
Within a few minutes, they were all destroyed, and Raph, not wasting any time, picked Casey up in his arms bridal style, running him back to the lair without saying a word. April and Leo looked at each other, concerned. A quiet, angry Raph would not be fun to deal with later.
In the end, Casey was fine, and in typical Casey fashion, he was ready to stand up and fight just seconds after Donnie wrapped up her leg.
"See? Look! I'm fine! Casey Jones can fight off some more evil bo- WOAH!"
Her leg gave out, sending him tumbling to the ground face first. Raph was quick to help him up, glaring at Donnie who was failing miserably at hiding his laughter.
"Casey, you're not going anywhere until this heals up! Face it, you can't do anything with this 'cept REST."
"This stinks! How am I sposed to play hockey with this? If I don't show up they'll cut me or put some other loser on as Captain while I'm gone!"
"Then I'll grab your school stuff and you can send the coach an email saying you basically can't move your whole leg for a week. I think he'll get it."
"I'll help with the excuse!" April chimed in. "I'm really good at those by now." Casey smiled and nodded.
"Thanks, Red! Any help Casey Jones can get, she'll take it!"
Was it just an excuse for April to spend time with Casey? Maybe. Was it also a way to make sure no one saw the laser mark on his leg? That was a more accurate answer, if anyone asked April why she took an hour of her day to help write one email to a hockey coach she had never met.
"That CAN'T be your coach's real last name."
"Yup! That's him!"
"Oh my god. He so got bullied in high school."
"Can't be worse than the old coach. His name was Coach Savage.”
"But Coach..." April willed herself not to burst out laughing in front of Casey. "Coach Shmuck? Seriously? That's so bad it's GOT to be fake!"
"At least he doesn't live up to his name!"
"Did the old coach?"
"Nah, he was the chillest guy I've ever seen."
"Huh."
And the conversation ended, April trying to kickstart it again several more times only to fail when Casey either nodded or fell asleep, exhausted most likely from all the pain medication and brain power she used to pull his grades up.
Since Casey was grounded to the lair, that meant April could easily help him catch up on his school work and turn his nasty Fs into shiny Bs and As. For once, things were looking up for the vigilante, despite her new injury and missing a week of the sport that could be considered her life.
When Raph suggested they spend an afternoon in bed, the older boy thought she must have been dreaming. First an A on a math test, then finding out his father would be nowhere around New York for a week, then her lover wanting to screw him senseless? Casey wondered how things ever got this good for her.
Forty minutes and one obscenely perfect love-making session later, he was still wondering the same thing until a sharp pain drew her out of his thoughts. The pain didn't come from his leg, but from Raph, still very much inside of him, jerking up every so often.
"Stop movin', will ya? I can feel you every time you do."
"Sorry. It's hard not to."
"Hard? Seriously?"
"Shut up, Jones."
"Wanna go again?"
"Maybe."
"How long you got?" Raph looked over at his broken, glitchy alarm clock and groaned.
"10 minutes."
"Shit."
"Yeah, that's not long enough." He sank back down on top of Casey, making sure he didn't accidentally hit his lover's broken leg in the process.
"Can you just... not go?"
"Case, you know Leo wants us all together for some stupid family patrol night, I can't just stay here and do nothing."
"Just tell Leo my leg's acting up and that you need to stay with me cause you're a good boyfriend! That'll work!"
"Alright... but if we go again, you're not moving this time. Don't wanna actually fuck up your leg." Casey sighed.
"Fiiiine. Text Leo first though. Don't want Fearless Leader to think you're bailing on him for no reason."
"I will, don't worry 'bout it. Just relax and hang on a minute, babe. You deserve it."
"What I DESERVE is you makin' me see stars again!"
"Then hold on for five fuckin' seconds!"
"More like five not-fuckin' seconds," Casey grumbled.
"Goddamnit, Jones! You're gonna be the death of me, I swear!" Casey just laughed.
Leo thought the excuse was the cutest thing he'd ever heard coming from the tough, strong, macho man Raphael and told him to take as long as he needed.
Oh, Raph would be taking a LONG time to do what he needed to do, and Casey Jones would not be arguing about it.
Thank the Supreme Pizza in the sky that no one else was home that night.
It was late when the rest of the gang returned, as April had offered to go in Raph's place. She walked down the hall where the bedrooms were, knocking on the door to Raph and Casey's shared bedroom.
"It's open!" She heard Raph's voice say quietly. She walked in to see them both in bed, the blanket wrapped over their bodies as Casey slept on Raph's plastron. Raph's hands were in her hair, playing with it as she let out light snores into his chest. April almost felt bad about walking in on them like this, so peaceful and clearly sharing a moment with each other, even if Casey was asleep.
"Sorry, I'll come back later-”
"You can stay, Casey's not gonna wake up any time soon. How'd it go out there?"
"Went well!" April smiled, "Pretty empty night, just a couple thieves here and there. Nothing we couldn't handle!"
"That's good to hear. Sorry about ditching, she wanted me to stay." He gestured down at the motionless vigilante.
"How is she?" April looked concerned, to her seeing Casey sleep was a sign that something was definitely wrong.
"She's doing alright, just wanted me around tonight. He hasn't slept in so long with all the shit going on topside."
"Raph-"
"Come on, April. If Splinter doesn't hear it, I don't care what I say. All that matters right now is making sure that Casey recovers." April nodded.
"Do you have to take him back up tonight?"
"No, thank fuck." He got another glare from April.
"His lousy father's out of town for a week, coincidence, so I was actually gonna bring Angel down here until he gets back. I know Casey won't wanna go back home with all this goin' on. But I can't do that right now, as you can see." He gestured to the vigilante on top of him, who he clearly did not want to disturb at any point during the night.
"Want me to go get her?"
"That would be AWESOME. Get me more good boyfriend points, and maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get another round in." He winked and April facepalmed.
"Ew! You guys are so gross sometimes!" He laughed, trying to be quiet.
"Hey, April?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't bring her in here, alright? Casey might forget she doesn't have clothes on and we don't need that." April shuddered. That was a thought she did not need in her mind. The funniest part of all was that despite her dating Casey for a month, she'd never seen him naked, or even with her shirt off. Back then, she would have loved to see it, maybe, but now that was not a good idea at all. She had Donnie, and that was good enough, right? Donnie. Donnie!
That's it!
Maybe if she introduced Angel to Donnie, Donnie and Casey might start to get along!
"Okay. I'll show her Donnie's lab, maybe he'll like her and talk to her about his experiments!"
"She's six!"
"So? Six-year-olds can like science too, Raph!"
"But not Donnie-science!" She sighed.
"I'll be back soon, alright? Tell Casey I hope she feels better."
"I will. Thanks, April."
"No problem!" She walked out and closed the door, leaving Raph to focus all his attention back on the man he loved.
"You're a mess, Casey Jones, but you're my mess. Not that I'd ever tell ya' that when you're awake."
He kissed the top of his head and moved his hand to rub slow, soft circles into her back. He wished they could stay like this forever, relaxed, happy, not being chased by villains or dealing with their respective families.
For now, he would enjoy the moment, enjoy Casey being all sprawled out under the covers, the two of them still stuck together and Raph refused to pull out or move. Life was always better with Casey Jones by his side, he thought to himself. Nothing could beat his lover, as strange as he was sometimes. That's what Raph loved most about her.
Present Day
Any evidence of Casey Jones having a pizza was gone within half an hour, the vigilante scarfing down each piece while Raph watched, his face a mix of horror, disgust, and pride. When he was done, she let out a burp that could rival Mikey’s, the younger boy cringing so hard that Casey actually noticed it.
"What?"
"The whole goal of a SECRET hideout is to keep it SECRET, Casey!"
"It was just a burp, Raph!"
"A loud one."
"No one's gonna find us, okay? The pigs have more important things to do than catch one lone vigilante who killed ONE of their guys. And the turtles don't even think it's me, they all think I'm some kinda lame imposter or somethin’!" Raph looked skeptical, but eventually, he nodded.
"You're right, but just... be careful, Casey. You know what careful means, right?" Casey scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"I know what careful means, Raphie! I passed kindergarten!"
"Just makin' sure." They smiled at each other, Raph draping his arm around Casey's shoulders as they leaned in for a surprisingly not awkward couch kiss.
It was long, soft, and tasted a lot like cheese and fish, but neither cared, taking their time in another rare moment of quiet. After they broke off the kiss, that was when things got awkward. They both just sat there on the couch, bouncing their legs up and down trying to figure out what to say next or what to do next. Raph beat Casey to it, stuttering out
"S-So... uh, do you have a favorite hockey team?"
That got Casey's attention, and he was surprised in all their time together that Raph had never really asked. Casey thought he had, but then again, his memory was shit and so was her boyfriend's. If they'd had the conversation before, who's to say?
"The Vikings- my team, not the football one, duh, and uhhh... Florida Panthers!" Raph looked confused.
"Why the Florida Panthers? We live in New York!"
"Scott Mellanby, man! Ya ever heard of the Rat Trick?"
"The WHAT??" Raph knew next to nothing about hockey, but he sure knew a lot about rats from his father.
"Yeah, dude! The Rat Trick! Ah, that was a classic!"
"Casey Jones, you're a fuckin' weirdo."
"But I'm your weirdo, right Raphie?" She bumped him with his arm, causing Raph to let out a chuckle.
"Hell yeah, you are. So what's the Rat Trick anyways?" Casey paused for a second and thought, ultimately deciding it didn't need to be shared.
"...Ya' know what, you don't wanna know."
"Alright.." Raph almost sounded... disappointed? Disappointed about not hearing a hockey fact? That wasn't the Raph Casey knew!
They fell into silence again, but not as awkward this time with Casey successfully grabbing Raph's tangible hand and rubbing his thumb over the top of it. They stayed like that for a while until Casey sneezed so hard that she looked like he was headbanging. Her helmet flew all the way across the room, landing right next to the freezer.
The duo stared in stock for a moment before bursting into laughter.
"Dude! That was so fuckin' loud, yo!"
"I'm surprised the wall didn't come down with that thing! You could use that as a weapon, Jones!"
"Oh! Oh! Oh! It could be the Supersonic Sneeze!" Both of them started giggling again, collapsing against one another and not letting go until Raph couldn’t hold his solid form anymore. Casey fell through his boyfriend with a thud, her face making contact with the filthy couch cushion.
"Raaaph!"
"...Goddamnit."
The rest of the night before they retired to the ice box was spent at the table with the Sudoku puzzle Casey had abandoned a few days earlier. She was finally getting the hang of it, but she still needed help with the harder numbers in the last few boxes.
"So I got 4 and 6, then 7 and 9, and 3 was easy! But I can't fuckin get 1, 2, 8, and 5! It's like they hate me or somethin', man! The numbers are out to get me! Bet if I don't solve this thing they'll call all their number friends and carry me off the ice box in my sleep like ants carryin' a piece o' bread or somethin'!"
Raph had to take a minute to recover from the laughing fit that had brought him.
"I'm serious, yo! These things are fuckin deadly!"
"They're NUMBERS, Casey, and nothing's gonna hurt you with me around! Specially not SUDOKU NUMBERS for fuck's sake-" He sighed, looking back over the four remaining numbers. 1, 2, 5, and 8. This was easy, too easy.
"8 goes next to 9, see how there's no 8 in that column?"
"Oh, yeah! That one was easy, I could've done that one!"
"1 goes right... below 7." The younger boy let Casey draw the numbers while he directed and explained.
"So then 2 goes next to 7 and 5 goes right below 2!"
"Yup! Now all there is is 1."
"RIGHT in the middle! YEAH! I DID IT!! I SCORED!!!"
"You finished the puzzle Case, you didn’t score anything."
"Yeah I did! I won, I beat it! I scored something at least!"
"Alright, cause you did so good, you've scored an extra round tonight." Raph winked at a now clueless Casey.
"'Nother round of what? Puzzles?"
"...That's it. You've been sleepin' on that thing for way too long, it's freezing away your brain cells!" Raph exclaimed, and shook his head. “Least the few ya got left.”
“Hey! I’ll have you know I got plenty brain cells up here!” Casey retorted, and smacked her hand against her skull lightly for good measure.
“Hitting your head’s not gonna help!”
“I’ll hit YOUR head!” True to his word, albeit in a playful tone, Casey jumped at Raph, and both of their backs hit the ground, next to each other, staring at the ceiling.
The ceiling was a very boring thing to look at in Casey’s opinion. She decided that he’d rather look at Raph. Turning on one side, she nestled into her arms, looking at Raph, who had also turned to look at his lover. They remained like that for a good five minutes, Raph pulling Casey in for a snuggle.
“Bored?” Casey scoffed. “How could I be bored with you here?” Raph raised a non-existent eyebrow.
“Okay, maybe I'm a LITTLE bored.”
“Got anything in mind?” Casey sat up, and drummed his fingers against a particularly thin part of the floor. Someone on the floor below shouted: “SHUT THE HELL UP!”
Casey pressed her face to the thinnest board. “FUCK OFF!”
The pair heard whomever had shouted being chastised by another, with a higher, accented voice, and say “Shush! You’ll get us evicted! Harris nearly dropped your Denny’s order.” That gave Casey an idea.
“That’s your idea face, Case,” Raph said. “Wanna share with the class?”
“We’re gonna bomb a Denny’s, Raphie!” Raph looked pleasantly surprised, and his face broke into a wide grin. Why a Denny's? Well when it comes to Casey's bizarre ideas of fun, Raph never wanted to ask. However, he wasn't opposed to it in the slightest.
“Now THAT sounds like fun. But we’re getting food before we blow it up. Their pancakes are great.”
“Oh, yeah! I almost forgot about those! But I’m getting whipped cream.”
“You know that the only reason I’m against that is because last time you tried to make pancakes, you put shaving cream instead of whipped cream!”
“It’s not my fault they look so similar!”
“Why would something from the BATHROOM go on food?”
“Because it wasn’t in the bathroom! It was with the plates!” Raph let out a loud cackle of a laugh, and hovered in the hair, holding the stitch in his side.
“The fuckin’ plates? The fuck?”
“I don’t know, dude! It was probably Mikey!”
Casey shrugged, barely biting back a laugh herself, as she scooped the remaining bombs into a duffel bag. “Damn, we’re gonna need more shit for the bombs. We’re running low.”
“…And you’re surprised? Half your plans have been ‘blow stuff up and see what happens’!”
Casey tossed him a look. “Nah! Didn’t blow that cop up, did I?”
“I said HALF, dumbass.” Casey rolled her eyes, and zipped up the bag, flipping his mask before catching it in his free hand as a thought struck her. “Wait, you can eat pancakes, right?”
“I can eat cold pizza,” Raph replied pointedly.
“God, you’re never letting that one go, are ya?”
“Whadda ya think?”
“Yeah, yeah, but for real, can you eat pancakes?”
“Only one way to find out, yeah?”
To an outsider, it would be a weird interaction. To have Casey, looking like she hadn’t showered in a week, because she hadn’t, in a ratty hoodie with a conspicuous duffel bag, order enough pancakes to feed the US military, half with whipped cream, and a large to-go container of fruit.
But this was customer service, after all. So, of course, the attendant didn’t bat an eyelash or blink at him like she was crazy, instead typing the egregious order in, and tell her that his order would “be out shortly.”
And, for a Denny’s in New York, at the hour of three in the morning, ‘shortly’ was actually short, relatively speaking, and fifteen minutes later, Casey Jones was staggering under the weight of an outrageous number of pancakes as a phone alarm went off.
“You’re just in time,” the attendant noted, nodding at Casey.
“That’s my shift over. Next shift’s all caught a cold, and the one after that took a group vacation to Bali. Janitorial’s gonna lock the place up, so we’d be shut ‘till about five on Thursday.” So it was probably Tuesday, in that case.
“Go to sleep,” a waitress barked from where she was wiping a table down.
“I have no car, you know that,” the attendant shot back.
“You’d have a car if you hadn’t T-boned that bus that T-bones a street light!” It took all of the very limited self-control Casey possessed to not laugh out loud as he managed to get her quarry over the threshold.
“See ya, hoodie dude!” the waitress called.
“That’s hoodie gal to ya!” Casey replied, leaning back into the establishment.
“Sorry, sorry! Hoodie GAL!” the waitress said, course correcting immediately with a grin. Casey shot a thumbs-up and swung the door shut as the attendant ducked out through a door marked “Employees Only,” exiting out the side of the building, by the dumpsters and circuitry, passing the latter, and leaning on a grey Subaru.
Through a large window, Casey watched the waitress drop the rag she’d used to clean the table with into a bucket, stick the bucket in a sink, and click the lights off. The loud ‘CLANG’ of a door indicated that she had gone out the same side door as the attendant, likely locking the doors. Casey rounded the opposite side of the building, and saw Raph tie a handful of bombs and pyrotechnics down.
“I got the goods, Raphie!” he announced, and Raph returned his wide grin.
“This side’s good, anyone still in there?”
“Nah, I was the only customer, and the two workers are driving off now.” As if on cue, Casey heard the telltale signs of the Subaru backing out of the parking lot. Raph grunted.
“I got this side and stuck some by a dumpster on the other side.”
“Imma throw some in the window!” Casey decided, delving into her bag, and retrieving more of the same. He lifted a foot, and kicked in a window. Glass spread all over the floor, and Casey heaved the explosives through the gaping hole. Diving into her pockets, she plucked out two lighters — one for himself, and one for Raph.
He handed one to the ghost, who lit up the stack of explosives in front of them, and glided through the walls to light the second. Upon her boyfriend’s return, Casey took his lighter, flicking the top off, and tossed it to the pile inside.
“We should back up.”
“Yeah, I like it when you have your face.” Casey dove behind a tree, still clutching the cakes, Raph bobbing up and down next to her.
Suddenly, the inevitable explosion rang in Casey’s ears, firey hues reflected in their surroundings, bathing her vision in orange and white. The pyrotechnics that had been added also went off, the screeching into the early morning.
Casey tracked one small rocket-like firework with his eyes, and began a mental countdown to its combustion. Exactly on cue, the trail of sparks and color erupted into a fountain of flame and light.
“This was one of your better ideas,” Raph said with a smile, and leaned a head onto Casey’s shoulder.
“Hey, I was due!”
“Shut up, I haven’t had a pancake in months, fork ‘em over.”
Casey opened up the ginormous bag of food and pulled out the first of many to-go containers filled to the brim with pancakes and a single container of whipped cream to start.
Raph snatched the first pancake off the pile as soon as Casey opened the lid, grabbing it with his ghostly fingers and dropping it into his mouth.
The flapjack fell right into Raph's teeth, but as the turtle opened his mouth again to chew, the pancake fell right through his body and onto the dirty grass below him
"So much for that idea, I can't even taste the thing- Casey?"
The vigilante was staring at the pancake like a feral animal, her eyes wide from behind the mask. "Casey, don't-"
"FIVE SECOND RULE!!"
Casey lept up and pounced on top of Raph, the turtle letting out an "OOF!" As he was thrown backwards, leaving the pancake unguarded. Casey quickly climbed off Raph and snatched up the fallen pancake, taking it back to where he was sitting, muching on it much like a squirrel would eat an acorn. Her eyes never left Raph as he scarfed down the warm, soft bread, the first hot food she'd probably had in the two months or so that he'd been on the run.
Raph let him have it, and all the other pancakes, laughing softly as Casey protected the food with her life. He understood why Casey was so protective, but as his boyfriend, he could afford the luxury of laughing as a paint covered, dirty, smelly, gap toothed, murderous vigilante ate Denny's pancakes in the woods while said restaurant was going up in flames nearby.
"Babe, we should get outta here before the police come."
Casey let out a grunt but didn't move.
"Casey, please, come on, we gotta go."
Still nothing, but at least she stopped eating the pancake this time.
"You okay, babe?"
"Want more pancakes." He grumbled.
"Alright, you can eat the rest when we get back to the apartment safely, okay? Come on, we gotta go." She nodded, falling back into silence.
Once they were farther away from the explosion and into the city part of New York City, Casey hailed a cab to take them the rest of the way home. The driver never said anything about the pancakes, the beat up looking kid in a skull mask, or the turtle in an oversized hoodie, (Casey wasn’t completely sure if Raph was visible to other people, so that was a bit of a toss-up) so it was either a pretty normal sight for him, or it was just a really fucked up Tuesday.
The apartment complex was quiet, even more so without Casey's constant talking the entire way back. It was unusual to hear her this quiet, but Raph assumed having warm food after months of chips and cold pizza was enough to make him silent. Casey never made a peep all through the pancakes, whipped cream, and even the fruit, putting all the empty containers in the bag before finally speaking again.
"Thanks for the meal, Raphie."
It was a whisper, but it sounded genuine, thankful, too soft for it to be Casey's voice.
"No problem, Case. Sorry I couldn't eat it with you."
"It's okay, but I really miss sharin' with ya'."
More uncomfortable silence.
"Rafa?" Woah, that was a nickname Casey hardly ever threw out.
"Yeah, baby?"
"Can you hold me tonight, please?"
The younger boy blinked. Something was really up for Casey to be acting this strangely.
"Of course. Come on, let's get you on that ice box."
Twenty minutes later and Casey was curled up in Raph's arms, her gurgle-purr the only sound in the room.
".... Casey?"
"Hm?”
"I... I um... you know I love ya', right?”
"Mhm."
"I know I've told ya' a lot before but God, I love you, ya' idiot. I had a lotta fun tonight and I hope you know that too."
The girl hugged his boyfriend a little tighter, smiling into his chest.
"I fuckin’ love you, Casey Jones, no matter what weird shit you get into or what fucked up crimes you commit. I don't care how far you run away from me, cause you're stupid, but I'll fucking find you every goddamn time. I hope there ain't no afterlife so we can stay like this forever, even if this stupid box sucks ass. But, I wanna be on it if it means I get to be with the man AND the woman that I love."
Tears hit Raph's plastron, shocking the turtle out of his speech.
Casey was crying, the sobs getting louder and louder, her hands tighter and tighter and Raphael's waist.
"Fuck you, Raphie, I got my nice paint on tonight!" They both laughed, knowing the insult was anything but genuine, unlike what Raph had just let spill out.
"God you're such a sap sometimes!"
"Yeah well somebody had to break your silence! What was that even for, anyways?"
He paused. "It-... it was for Angel. For us. For me and you and her and all of us back when you weren't dead and she used to eat pancakes every fuckin' day for breakfast. She wouldn't stop eatin’ 'em, always said that it was 'pancakes or nothin’!. Now I'm eatin those stupid, round, hot, bread thingies all alone with my dead boyfriend who can't eat shit and my little sister who's suffering twenty minutes away from me and I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT THAT WON'T GET HER KILLED!"
She let out a low, growly scream and the tears started again. Raph didn't know what to say or how to feel, there were no good words he could give to Casey, just his actions. He rubbed his back, kissing the greasy mop of hair on top of his head until the sobbing subsided.
"Casey?"
"...Yeah?"
"I love you so fuckin’ much."
"I love YOU so fuckin’ much, Raphael Tomato."
"It's Hamato."
"Ha- Ham- Ha- oh forget it, I can't." Casey sounded sad, like goofing up Raph's name wasn't a joke or something she could control.
"Ha-ma-to." Raph sounded it out for him.
"Ha-ma-to." Raphael gasped. Casey finally got his last name right.
"That's it! Casey, you did it, you finally got my last name right!"
"I did??"
"YEAH!"
"HOLY SHIT, LET'S GO!" They shared a celebratory kiss and a forehead bump before Casey muttered: "But when we get married, I ain't takin’ that thing even if Splinter makes me."
"It's a deal. Love ya', Casey Hamato." Casey snickered.
"Love ya too, Raphael Jones."
If Raph smiled the rest of the night while Casey slept obliviously below him, no one would ever know or be able to blackmail him about it.

Updates/ notes on TMNT Musical! AU
First of all, I'm thinking "musical" as in animated musical. Like, a Disney movie, or Tangled the Series.
The designes are my own AU.
Leo is based mostly on Mutant Mayhem Leo. He writes cheesy poetry, and is the leader of the team. I'm thinking Isabella from encanto on how his "whole life, he was stuck being perfect"
Raph is based a lot on 2012 in personality, but Rise! In appearance (except I made him shorter and less buff). He doesn't sing or dance very often, only singing a song with Casey about being "bad boys" who don't follow rules. And of course, a small duet with Mona Lisa
Donnie is, appearance wise, based off 2012 (what can I say, it's my favorite) except I gave him freckles along his nose and cheeks and giggles that sit up on his head (might give him glasses, still undecided). I'm thinking like Varian from Tangled the Series in personality, and honestly he goes the most extra for the songs
Mikey is also based mostly on 2012, but I gave him freckles all over his face and body. He acts most like Rise! Mikey though. But he is treated like the baby, and it pisses him off. Yes, he gets a song about it.
These boys's main goal is to get accepted (like in Mutant Mayhem) and to save the city from the Kraang.
Now, April is really just some girl in the journalism club with frizzy ginger hair and freckles, who got stuck reporting the school hockey team for the newspaper. She wants to help the boys for the thrill, and because she knows it'll help her get a great job in the future. I mean, being friends with the heroes of the city? It'll set you up for life.
Casey is a dude going through it. he doesn't have any friends except for his hockey team, who only tolerate him because he's a good player.he and Raph immediately become friends, and Casey feels comfortable enough to spill about his dreams of being an actor. Casey wishes he were different, but he just doesn't know when to shut his mouth
The turtles wear pants. Please. They wear shorts.
Of course, all these things are not yet set in stone. I think of these things sitting in class and draw it.
I'm still taking suggestions, please roblog if you want more, it lets me know your interested, love you boo boo bears 😙

[07 Raph and Don]
Donatello smiled, gently taking Raph's wrist and leading them away from the main living room. He couldn't let either Yvonne or Ariel hear what he was about to tell them. It had been hard enough finding excuses to keep them out of the lab for the passed few days, he'd hate for all his work to go to a sudden waste by the surprise being ruined.
When he was sure he and Raph were far away enough, Donatello beamed at them,
"I need to show you something," He keeps his voice quiet regardless, "I need your opinion on it."
And it's there Don lifts his other hand, showing the two rings he had clearly made himself; there were a few scratches in the metal, tiny imperfections that one wouldn't see in something professionally made. If it wasn't proof enough Don made them, the fact the words 'Part of Your World' engraved into the metal should be enough. His tail wagged behind him,
"What do you think?" Don asks, "I've been working on them for a while - do you think Yvonne will like them?"
Usually, he went to Mikey with these sort of questions, but considering Yvonne saw Raph as her best friend, well, he figured Raphael might have a better insight,
"We have our own place, we have our Ariel, it just seems right to be married too," He says, the worry already starting to spark, "I want to make sure they're perfect, last thing I want is for her to say 'no' - not that I think she would," Donatello murmurs, "Then again, I don't know if she'd want to be married," Uh oh, "It's not like she could even have her own family there; Master Splinter could always 'give her away' I suppose, assuming she'd be okay with that, or if she'd be okay with being married at all-"
Looks like someone's getting lost in their own head again.
| Muse interaction
Raphael was standing behind the couch, Leo and Mikey were sitting on as Mikey was going on about honestly? Raphael forgot what exactly it was that Mikey was telling them about. Glancing down towards his older and youngest brother he could see Leo was at least giving them his full attention. Good because Raphael couldn't even pretend like he was listening in the moment. He did kind of take in how nice this was though. What with well everything that had happened over the years seeing Leo and Mikey on the couch like before? was just nice. And maybe Raphael feeling this way out of all of them said the most considering how pissed off he was about Leo leaving them before in the first place. Or how pissed off he got when Mikey betrayed them and joined the foot. Not that Raphael was innocent of anything. Least he was able to be standing her pretending to follow this conversation as Mikey continued to run his beak. Von sitting near by seeming to just as engaged in the conversation being mostly ran by Mikey
When Mikey finally breaks away to look up at Raphael asking him something about what he been talking about for the past hour. "uh?" was all he had to offer in response of course it gave away he hadn't been listening as Mikey's own face didn't shy away from expression the annoyance he felt in that moment. Luckily for Raphael though Donnie was to the rescues with out knowing it. Raphael tried to attempt to make a guess at what Mikey had been saying a moment ago when he felt the hold around his wrist suddenly. The tug that followed was enough for Raphael to retreat to go along with his twin brother. "Uh sorry Mikey gotta help Don wit' somethin' I forgot, ya know how the brainiac gets." He offers with a faint shrug of his shoulders.
Though now part of Raphael wonder if he really was meant to be helping Don with something? They had been holed up in the lab since Raphael got down to the lair. Was weird Von wasn't with him? Jeez how long had Mikey sent him in brain dead mode? "h thanks for the save bro but whatcha want uh?"
I need to show you something,"
Raphael titled his head to side noting the hushed tone Don was using, paying a second to look back seeing that no one followed them? "Yeah okay uh what for?" Raphael ask nothing meaning much from his own questioning tone he was more curious than anything really.
"I need your opinion on it."
Raphael pauses as in his stride as Don turns around to show him what it was he needed an opinion on so much suddenly. As he held up to bands of metal up for Raphael to look at. Slightly leaning in for a better look at them. He was able to make a guess they were meant to be rings like humans wore to show they were married. Or just for show like April sometimes did or Mikey when he managed to get April to lend a ring to him before. They didn't look as polished however? The kind of Ring's April wore were far more smooth and shiny. These seemed far more crudely made. All the scratches in the metal was enough of a tale that these were hand made rings and not professional or least made by someone who lack the full equipment needed. Kind of a surprise that Donnie would want to give them to Von as 'imperfect' as they were. Raphael muses over that fact a moment considering this is Donatello of all turtles. He needs to squint his eye a moment to try and read the words that had been craved into the metal. "Part of ya world?" he asks seeing if he read it right.
"What do you think?"
Raphael Smirks at Don's question he can't help himself as he moves to cross his arm over in front of his plastron.
"I've been working on them for a while - do you think Yvonne will like them?"
"hmm dunno Don seems a bit inappropriate don't cha think?" He gives Donnie a second to try and follw what he means by that. "I mean I love ya but ya should really give one of 'em rings to Von not me." He chuckles a bit before slugging his arm over Donnie's shoulders. "I'm messin' with ya, kinda of surprised ya only know gettin' round to giving her a ring though? Sorta figured you woulda done that a long time ago?" Least in Donnie's case he was far more a romantic after all. "Or did that get buried unda that fucking to do list of yas?" he Teases more bring up his other hand to dig his knuckles in against Donnie's smooth head to give his brother an affectionate noogie, before finally letting them free smiling back at his brother.
"We have our own place, we have our Ariel, it just seems right to be married too,"
Raphael slightly cocks his head to side over the sentiment he guess that makes sense when Don puts it like that after all. They lived together had a kid even he guesses being married wasn't too far off as next thing todo. Course he was pretty sure it was meant to be in a different order but eh that seemed like a small unneeded detail in the moment all the same.
"I want to make sure they're perfect, last thing I want is for her to say 'no' - not that I think she would,"
He can just see how the one off hand mention seems to be the start to get the gears in his brothers mind to start to turn in his head suddenly. Those gears starting to move and crank out the worries out into his skull to fill it up with a list of what ifs and more.
"Then again, I don't know if she'd want to be married,"
Raphael rolls his eye letting his head follow the action as he looks up to the ceiling a moment letting Don get most his thoughts worked out first before he cuts in. It was sometimes better to let them go down the doomsday path first.
"It's not like she could even have her own family there; Master Splinter could always 'give her away' I suppose, assuming she'd be okay with that, or if she'd be okay with being married at all-"
Raphael sighs and reaches out to plants his hands on to Don's shoulders suddenly making it clear how annoyed he felt in the moment "Donatello" He says their name with a faint warning in his tone fixing them with his expression. "Shut up." Is all he offers to them as some sort of advice all be it rude as it could be. "Lets step back a few 'ere alright?" He offers to his over thicker twin. "pump the breaks and just fuckin' chill out Don jeez."
Raphael lowers one of his hands and slightly rocks Don with the other hand. "It's like you said, you live together and you even got Ariel far as anyone can see it ya two are in this for the long game yeah? I mean you even lost contact for a few years." In truth it wasn't the only time but Raphael didn't see a point in bringing every bump in the road up at the moment. "And ya two got back together with out a hitch. far as 'm concerned that means something." After all he and Casey had a break up but found their way back to each other, if anything that alone should show Raphael meant it when he said it. "I promise shes gonna love it if anything she gonna tease you for taking so long. An' I gotta agree" He smirks once more "How can ya not have put a ring on her till now Donnie? jeez you better make it extra special for her or i'm tell Von to tell you no" Taking advantage of his best friend placement with the butterfly mutant not that Raph felt she would agree to that made to haze and rattle Donnie a little bit but nothing more than that. Though now that has him curious. "How are ya gonna about giving it to her? Cause knowing youes? it's gonna be more than needed aint it?"

It's Not Fair
Pairing: Bayverse!Raph x GN!Reader (platonic), a hint of Bayverse!Leo x Reader (established relationship)
Summary: The bros had a fight. It's nothing unusual. Except this time you decided to show Raph his equal.
Genre: angst with good ending. Sibling love.
Masterlist
"Well if you just listen for once this wouldn't have happened! How many times do you need me to remind you, huh?"
Leo's voice boomed as they all stepped into the lair. Making you flinch, you quickly looked towards their way. Again? You thought worriedly.
You love the brothers. You care deeply for them like your own family. Usually April would be the one who breaks up the fight and it mostly ends up with them retiring to their rooms. But when she's not around you'd take her place. God knows how the situation is handled when none of you are around. Cough cough. The ha'shi.
You marched your step and hurried yourself to the brothers but damned your tiny legs they were too fast. You saw Leo already went to the meditation room. For obvious reasons to keep his mind busy. You saw Donnie making his way to his lab as always to keep himself distracted as well. You know he often got his mind troubled just by witnessing his older brothers fight.
Let's not forget Mikey. Poor guy, he wished he could help but his title stopped him from having that ability. Unlike his brothers, he just slumped himself somewhere in the main room. You just asked him if he's okay and he'd hesitantly reply in return although you already know the full answer to that. You just gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder and went on your way to search for Raph.
Speaking of which, he was the first to vanish. If you remember correctly he stormed off like a kid having diarrhea. But joke aside though, he was obviously pissed. You don't know what came over you to go check up on Raph first but your instinct is never wrong when it comes to these guys.
When you arrived at his door you knocked on it a couple times. You didn't get any response so you knocked again. "Just shoved it back up your ass, Leo! I don't wanna hear it." You heard Raph's muffled growl from the inside. "It's me." You said softly, enough for him to hear you.
Silence filled the air when you heard shuffles in his room before hearing the door being unlocked. You turned the knot and stepped inside. His room was not in the best condition, though you took notice that he's the second to have the cleanest room after Leo.
"What do you want?" He asked annoyingly. He had his back/shell facing you while sitting on his messy bed. "Just wanna check on you, big guy." He scoffed, "Yea? Why don't you check on your boyfriend there? Bet he needs all the attention from his partner right now to suck all his inner demons." You shrugged as you made your way to him, "He can take care of himself." "And I can't?" He cut you off, looking at you from his shoulder.
You stopped your track, keeping his question hanging then he turned back around. You bit your lips trying to think of any comforting words to say to him. He may be the toughest, the biggest brother but you are sure that he's the most sensitive among his brothers. He always kept his emotions guarded. Keeping the reputation he'd say. And you can't exactly argue, it is quite true if you were him.
You sat down on the edge of the bed, keeping your distance to give him as much as space he needs.
"Listen I," you started. "I know I'm not the best at words but I'll try my best to keep you from going on edge." You paused and took a deep breath, "I know you and your brothers had each other's differences but you guys always manage to keep everything in line even when times are tough. I know you had your differences with Leo and it's always gotta be with him ain't it?"
You paused again, cocking your head a bit to search for any kind of disapproval from him. He didn't move so you continue, "I'm not trying to say that he's right all the time, of course not. He makes mistakes too. He cares about his brothers. All he ever wanted is to just keep you guys safe and I'm sure you are too. Y'know, you're not so different from him if you think about it." You smiled when you pointed it out.
You can feel Raph silently disagreeing with your statement so you quickly added, "You guys are like the strongest when it comes to being the brawn. You two had the same sense of humour and sarcasm." You made motions with your hands as you speak to avert the dullness in your speech. "You ever realized when you guys would split up he would choose to partner up with you instead like all the time? He prefers teaming up with you 'cause you guys are the 'A Team', my guy." tilting your head at him as you said those words coyly.
"He needed both brain and brawn. He got the brawn sure but you got extra muscles, that's why he's the brain half the time too. He would've chosen Donnie but he didn't. 'Cause he needed that balance. Balance is key. You guys are like the yin and yang, you know I'm saying?"
Now fully turning to him, not asking for him to return the action. You put your hand on his back/shell. "What I'm trying to say is, you guys are inseparable. All of you. You guys needed each other. I know things not always how you wanted it to be but we'll figure this out together. We always do. Siblings fight, they argue. That's normal. And then the next day you guys will be cool like nothing happens after tea time." You patted his back/shell in comfort as you let out a heavy exhale.
"I just want you to know that, whenever things get heavy, especially for you, don't act like I only care about Leo's well being. You're part of him too. I have to make that count. It's not fair to just let him steal all the attentions and comforts away while he gets to be at peace and you guys don't. Ain't that right?" You give him another pat before hearing a sniff coming from him.
"R-raph?" You stood up from the bed to get a clear look at him. He quickly turned away from you. Practically begging for you to not see him in that state. "H-hey, what's wrong? I'm sorry dude, I didn't mean to.."
He hated being like this, being vulnerable, especially in front of you. His brothers already saw his flaws; he didn't need you to see them too. Who else is going to see him as the tough guy when he already broke down to you? He hated this. Fighting with his brothers and he gets sensitive and then you manage to crack his shell. He hated that.
"No, ding-dong. It's just some stupid dusts in my eyes. It's nasty, go away!" He used his hands to shoo you away. You silently chuckled and passed him the tissue box you fetched from at the corner of his room. He wastes no time grasping it with his giant hand, quickly wiping his tears and blowing his nose.
You helped him by throwing the dirty tissues to the small bin, tidying up his bed and placing his comic books back to its place. You two stayed like this for a while, enjoying each other's silence after he had calmed down.
"You good now, Raph?" You put your hand on his shoulder and give it a comforting stroke. He nodded, "Y-yea. Guess so.." as he had a hard time trying to make eye contact with you. You responded with an assuring nod. "Hey, uh…thanks. For... whatever that was." He rubbed his neck as he said so. You pulled a soft smile. A thanks is always enough for you. You know how hard it is for him to actually admit stuff like that out loud and you appreciate his effort. "Anytime bud. Anytime."

ROTTMNT Headcanons: I finally finished moving so y’all get me back
Here’s how I think the family would react to moving (cause I have no imagination)
April: would try to hide how much the move affects her
She would move all her stuff out of her old apartment the second she got the keys
And she would unpack the second she gets into the new place
She would also throw a housewarming party/multiple sleepovers so she doesn’t feel so alone
The boys have moved a lot but some handle it better than others
Raph: would try to stay strong for his siblings
He would try to stay optimistic and help his siblings plan out their rooms
But he is a very emotional and sentimental person
So the second they get to the new place he’s bawling like a baby
And it takes him a long time to get adjusted to the new place
Leo: would handle the move the best
Even though he’s a sentimental person he’s also a firm believer that home is not a place it’s the people he surrounds himself with
He also thrives under pressure and craves change
He makes an internal schedule so the moving process is swift and efficient
But he also gives his siblings just enough time to grieve
Donnie: handles change the absolute worst
At first, he would refuse to move and he would make a whole PowerPoint presentation about how their home is just fine the way it is
And when he realizes it doesn't matter what he says they’re still going to move so he shuts down
His siblings pester him to help
He’ll try to pack and unpack but he kind of gets in the way cause he’s stuck in his head
Casey: is right alongside Donnie
He fucking hates moving it reminds him of the future
The family tries to give him some stability but they also know they can’t stay stagnant forever
Unlike Donnie, Casey is really helpful during the moving process but he does mope during the entire process
Mikey: it really depends
Like Leo, he loves change and hates staying in one place for too long
But the second he notices how it’s affecting his siblings he starts getting sad too
April Leo and Mikey try to cheer the group up and sometimes it works and sometimes they let their siblings go through the cycle of grieving the past
So Leo has a lucky rock in “air turtle” and has enough rocks on him to replace his siblings in “flushed but never forgotten”
He definitely has a rock and crystal collection
He gave them all black tourmaline, and amethyst after season 2 for protection and to help with grief
He gave April citrine for good luck
Raph got a Rose Quartz to help with his anxiety (and to improve his self-love)
Donnie gets a Pyrite to help cleans him of all the bad juju technology brings
Casey gets Hematite to help ground him
Mikey gets Carnelian to boost his creativity
And there are times when Leo will force the whole group to stop because he saw a sick ass rock on the sidewalk
Donnie has gotten into serious arguments that go something along the lines of “no Leo I won't stop the tank so you can go get a dirty disgusting rock off the side of the road I’ve already done that three times today”
So it’s pretty obvious that Leo will say random shit in Spanish every once and a while
And I was thinking “the boys definitely copy that right?”
Like every once in a while you just hear Raph go “dónde está my wallet?”
And sometimes Mikey will say shit like “he’s a little… cómo se dice insane in the membrane”
Donnie also has a terrible habit of yelling “WHAT?” When he can’t hear someone
And it annoys the shit out of Splinter
He always tells him “don’t yell ‘what’ that’s rude”
So he yells “QUÉ?” Instead (cause he’s technically not saying what)
Leo also has a tough time saying “I love you”
And for some reason saying it in Spanish is easier (probably cause he was under the assumption that his siblings didn’t know what it meant)
So he always ends the conversation with “te amo” no matter how pissed he is
And it wasn’t until his siblings responded with “te amo más” that he realized they knew what he meant this whole time
And he’s weirdly okay with that

Hostage - Leonardo [2012]
Note: This is an older imagine I wrote for my TMNT Imagines book on Wattpad. It's actually kinda shitty and my new works are way better, but I figured if I'm going to start posting my stuff on here I should start with the older stuff. ^^" Anyway- even tho it's shitty, I still hope you somewhat enjoy! Thanks for reading! <3
Warning: mature langauge, gore/blood, and physical abuse.
Leo felt like a damn fool. He could never stop grinning when she came by. She made him nervous and jittery. He got butterflies just by thinking about her alone. She was beautiful and foreign and he couldn't help but be a complete and utter fool in her presence.
Y/n L/n had captured his heart and run away with it, and he be damned if he ever got it back.
Looking up from what he was doing, Leo was surprised to see a worried looking Casey, followed by a frantic looking April.
April and Y/n were very close, probably because they were the only two girls in a group full of boys. They had things in common because of that, and would often talk to each other when they needed to.
"I just don't understand it! She hasn't answered her phone all weekend, and then today at school she's a no show! I tried going to her place and no one answered!" April said, moving her hands around as she spoke.
"She's probably just away with her parents or something. You know they like to travel a lot." Casey replied, shrugging his shoulders, though his expression revealed how worried he actually was.
"I have a bad feeling about this..." April muttered, shaking her head and looking down at the ground.
"Hey guy's, what's up?" Leo asked, noticing his brother's were also looking up in their direction.
Donnie had stepped out of the lab upon hearing April's voice, but hadn't said anything upon seeing her and Casey in a discussion. Mikey was playing video games on his phone in the living area where Leo had been watching TV, but he looked away from the screen in curiousness. And Raph was punching the dummy that looked like Shredder, but even his movements had seized.
"It's Y/n. We haven't heard from her all weekend, she wouldn't answer her phone, and she didn't come to school today. I stopped by her place, and nothing. No one answered, it didn't even look like anyone was home." April folded her arms around herself, obviously very worried about her friend.
"Maybe she's gone on a trip, like Casey said?" Mikey spoke up, turning his phone off and stretching a little.
"I don't think so... She would have said something beforehand. And just because she's on a trip doesn't mean she can't answer any of my texts, or pick up the phone when I call. I just.. I have a bad feeling about it." April glanced between them all, wanting their input.
"Do you think somethin' bad happened to her? We do have a lot of enemies, it wouldn't surprise me if someone found and took her as bait." Raph took a couple of steps forward, walking further into the room as he spoke.
Dread began to fill Leo, if something did happen to Y/n- he hated to think that way, he wouldn't.
"We should go to her place and check it out for ourselves. There might be something there you missed, April." He said, standing up and walking over towards the entrance/exit of the lair.
The others nodded in agreement and before long, they were off.
* * *
Y/n was pissed.
She was just minding her own damn business when someone whacked her in the back of the head causing her to pass out. Now she was trapped in the Foot Clan's lair, in pain, hungry, and exhausted.
The poor teenage girl was suspended in the air by thick rope that was wrapped around her wrists tightly. The rope dug into her skin, rubbing her wrists raw and making her bleed. It didn't help that her arms were held up above her and she could no longer feel them from being tied up for so long. She was also positive that she had a minor concussion. She hadn't been fed in three days, her stomach was practically eating itself. Water was only offered once, and she spit it in the guys face who gave it to her. Was that a stupid thing to do? Probably. Did she regret it? Somewhat. Would she do the same thing again? Absolutely.
Being pissed was an understatement.
Her head lifted when she heard commotion before her. A door had opened, Tiger Claw, Fish Face, and Rahzar, walked into the room. She mustered up as much courage as she could, even though she was fucking terrified, and glared at them. The glare was feeble, she was weak, it was obvious.
"Are you finally going to talk, you brat? Master Shredder is getting rather impatient." Fish Face spat, glaring at her in disgust.
Y/n remained silent, not giving them anything. The only thing she did, was look away.
That seemed to only piss them off more, "Listen here you little bitch, sooner or later you have to talk, and if you do not you will be of no more use to us. Which will result in us having to kill you." Rahzar seethed, only becoming more infuriated when she didn't acknowledge them.
Tiger Claw stepped forward and grabbed her face roughly, squeezing her cheeks and forcing her to look at him. "She will talk eventually, and if we do not get an answer out of her ourselves," his eyes glistened, "Shredder will. And he will not be nearly as gentle as us." He thrusted her head back, snarling deeply before leaving the room. The other's trailing behind him.
Y/n's neck snapped back, she squeezed her eyes shut in pain, waiting for them to leave before she sobbed quietly to herself. Fear had consumed her.
She didn't know if the other's knew of her disappearance. Would they even notice if she was gone? It was a depressing thought, but she couldn't help but think that way. It had been three days, and she hadn't even heard anything from or about them. Three days didn't seem like a lot, but to her, it was agonising.
Y/n briefly wondered if she was going to die before she got the chance to admit to the blue branded turtle of her true feelings for him.
Oh well... At least she would die knowing she was able to protect them. Knowing she didn't crack under the Foot's threats.
Still, she couldn't help but feel depressed. Wanting to encase the leader in blue with her love for him.
Now it was too late.
***
Leo knocked on her bedroom window. No reply. He did it again. Still nothing. One last time. Zilch. With a heavy sigh he tested to see if the window was unlocked. Y/n usually left her bedroom window unlocked in case either him or one of his brothers would show up. Just to his luck, it was. He slid the window open with ease, crawling inside followed by his brothers, Casey, and lastly, April.
Her bedroom was dark, the only light that was on was a lamp by her bedside. Her bed was unmade, the tv turned on, and her phone- was sitting on her desk. Leo approached it carefully, picking it up and turning it on. The battery was dead.
"No one's home. Just like we thought." Casey replied, walking back into the room after scouting around the rest of Y/n's place. He held a paper in his hand, "This was stuck to the fridge."
Mikey snatched it out of his hands and read it out loud, "Y/n, your father and I are away on a sudden work trip that came out of the blue. We will be gone for the entire weekend. No partying. Be responsible. Do your homework. There's leftover's in the fridge," his stomach grumbled, which he responded with a sheepish grin, "As usual, April's dad said he'd pop in every once in a while to check on you. We both love you. Be safe. Love, Mom and Dad."
"So that explains why the parent's aren't home, but what about Y/n?" Raph asked, arms crossed over his chest.
"I don't know. This doesn't make any sense. Y/n wouldn't go anywhere without her phone." Leo mumbled, glancing down at the blank screen in his large green hand.
"April was right, something's wrong." Donnie agreed.
"No shit." Raph grumbled, earning a glare from the purple banded terrapin.
April bit her bottom lip, trying to think about what they should do. "Should we contact the police?"
"And say what?" Casey questioned, "Dudes, we believe our friend was kidnapped by one of our mutant turtle friends enemies?"
April shot him a glare, "Well what do you think we should do?"
"I say we storm the Foot's lair and check the place out for ourselves. If Shredder has her she'd be there." He punched his fist into his hand, earning a scoff from Donnie.
"We can't just storm into the place, bonehead. We don't even know if he was the one who took her. "
"We can't just sit around and do nothing!" He retorted.
"Guys, calm down. We need to think clearly without everyone screaming at one another." Leo spoke, stepping between the two.
"Leo's right. Who know's how long Y/n's been gone, or where she is, if she's okay. The longer we take the less time she may have. We need to come up with a plan, and quickly." April gestured, sitting on the end of her friend's bed.
"Okay, so what do we know about the situation?" Donnie asked, looking between everyone.
"Y/n's been taken, we don't know how long she's been gone for, where she is, or who took her. Her parent's have been away the whole weekend, and appear to still be gone. Her phone was on her desk, tv in her room on, along with one light. There's no sign of forced entry, so whoever took her must have known what they were doing." Leo noted, glancing down at the floor.
"That rules out the Kraang and Purple Dragons. They're clumsy when it comes to things like this." April muttered.
"So it is the Foot! See, I told ya!" Casey boasted.
"We still don't know that for sure." Donnie said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"But it has to be them! Who else would it be?" Mikey asked, looking between everyone in confusion.
"We'll go check it out. We can watch from a distance and see if we hear or see anything about Y/n. We could probably even sneak someone in to check things out." Leo ordered, slipping her phone into his belt and turning around to walk towards the window.
***
Y/n felt the blood began to drain from her body from the slash on her back she had just received from Shredder. She gagged from the pain, not being able to vomit because her stomach was empty. Her entire body was trembling, and Shredder was absolutely furious.
"Leave her. Maybe that will teach her not to refuse orders from me." He turned and left the room with a dramatic door slam. Followed by each and every one of his minions.
Y/n let her head hang, slowly sucking air into her lungs. She didn't know how much more of this she could handle. The beatings were getting worse, and she had already lost so much blood. Her eyes slowly closed, her body was going numb, she felt darkness closing in. It was so welcoming... She almost wanted to give in.
She didn't know how long she was out for, a couple of hours maybe? But when she woke up and blinked slowly, she saw a dark figure in front of her. Her eyes widened in slight fear and panic, thinking the worst. She shook her head, flinching away.
"Please..." She whispered, voice dry and croaked from screaming, "No more... I-I can't... Please."
"Y/n, it's okay, it's just me." The voice was familiar, she knew that much. She blinked a few more times, her vision focusing. It was Donnie, hope began to fill her once again.
"D-Donnie?" Just as his name left her chapped lips, she noticed Mikey, Raph, and Leo run into the room. April and Casey stayed by the door to keep watch.
"Y/n!" The other three ran towards her, Donnie had already lowered her ropes and was working on cutting them off.
"She's in really bad condition, the ropes have fully cut off her circulation in her wrists and arms. She's completely dehydrated, and probably starving too. She's also lost a lot of blood, we need to get her back to the lab, now!" The ropes were cut but Y/n wasn't able to hold her own body weight, causing her to tumble to the floor.
Luckily, Raph had caught onto her. "You guys came for me..." She breathed, barely having enough strength to glance up at them.
"Of course we came for you, Dudette! You're one of us!" Mikey exclaimed, grinning down at her, though she could tell he was worried.
"Guy's they're coming! You better hurry it up!" It was Casey, he and April had barricaded the doors. Not like that would do much.
"Raph give Y/n to Leo, he, Mikey, and I will get to the shell razor, you can help April and Casey hold them off for as long as you can. We need more time." Donnie instructed, earning a nod from Raph as he gently passed Y/n into Leo's strong embrace.
Her eyes drifted up to his, he flashed her a worried smile, "Just hold on Y/n, we're almost done." he slid his hand under her knees and picked her up somewhat bridal style, causing the poor girl to wince from her injuries.
"Sorry," She mumbled, causing him to glance down at her in bewilderment, "Why are you apologising?"
"I'm getting my blood all over you.." She replied, drifting in and out.
"Stay with me Y/n! Stay with me! Focus!" He got her into the shell razor, the other following close behind. Once everyone was in the vehicle they zoomed off, Raph driving.
Y/n's eyes began to flutter shut, "Don't you dare close your eyes! Y/n!" Leo was begging, eyes wide in panic, tears brimming in the corners.
"I... can't..." And with that she was out.
Leo refused to leave her side as Donnie worked on her. Mikey couldn't watch, he was too afraid. April held onto him in comfort, as Casey tried not to heave at the sight of blood. Raph just focused on driving, his hands gripping the steering wheel so tight his knuckles turned white/light green.
Once they were at Donnie's lab back at the lair, he had better equipment, Y/n still hadn't woken up, but at least she was alive. Luckily Casey shared the same blood type as her, so he was able to donate some of his blood. Her open wounds on her wrists looked infected, and her wrists and almost one entire arm was black and blue. That's what concerned Donnie the most, the fact that her arms were so badly damaged. One arm was worse than the other, the purple coloring spreading up till her elbow. It didn't help that she had an infection, and it was spreading. He had to do something quickly or else it would travel into her bloodstream and she would surely die.
So he did the only thing he could think of. Amputate.
***
When Y/n came back into consciousness, she could feel something was wrong. Not only was she in an incredible amount of pain, but she could tell something was off. Something was missing. She could see Leo asleep out of the corner of her eyes. His head was resting on the cot she was laying on, one of his hands holding her own. She smiled a little, about to reach over to place her other hand on top of his when she couldn't.
Horror began to fill her veins as she glanced over at her arm, which was completely amputated up till her elbow. Tears flooded down her face, she slowly removed her hand from Leo's grasp, not seeing the poor boy wake up and glance up at her, her fingers traced the bandages on her arm.
"Y/n?" Leo watched her movements and frowned, "Y/n... I'm so sorry... Donnie did everything he could. He really did try to save your hand. But the infection... It only made everything worse..."
She glanced over towards him, a small sad smile on her face, "S'okay, you guys tried right? There was nothing else you could have done... At least I'm alive... At least you are safe.."
His frown deepened, he hesitantly reached over and grabbed her one and only hand. It was bandaged also, and he made sure to be super gentle with her. "Do you want me to call the others?"
She shook her head, "Not yet... There's something, I want to tell you first."
He perked up a little, nodding his head to let her know she could continue.
She averted eye contact, "When I was in there, all I could think about was keeping you guys safe." Her voice was scratchy and hoarse from not using it in so long, it hurt to speak, but she continued anyways, "To not let them know of your guys' location... But I also couldn't stop thinking about the fact that I would die before I ever got to tell you how I really felt about you."
Leo's eyes widened and his heart leapt to his throat, he didn't know what to say, so he just let her continue.
"I think I'm falling in love with you... I think.. I think I am in love with you, Leo. And it's okay if you don't feel the same way, I just... I wanted you to know."
A small grin spread across his face, he couldn't help it. He reached forwards with his free hand and brushed some of her tangled hair out of her face. "I think I'm in love with you too." he whispered, as if the other's could almost hear them.
She smiled back, "Really? You're not just saying that because Donnie just hacked off part of my arm?"
He chuckled and shook his head, "Really. I mean it. I truly, really do."
Y/n grinned, "I'd totally kiss you right now, but I'm in too much pain to move."
Leo laughed, "Then don't." He leaned forwards and brushed his lips against her own, it wasn't exactly a kiss, but it still meant the world to them.
***
It was a while later and Y/n was finally back on her feet. She had just come into the lab per Donnie's request where Mikey practically barrelled into her.
"Y/n! Donnie made you a robot arm! Look!" He pointed towards it, an excited grin on his face.
"Mikey!" The other three scolded in unison.
"It was supposed to be a surprise you idiot!" Raph glared, arms crossed like usual.
Leo walked over and wrapped an arm around her torso, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead, the other's smirked knowingly. Leo only rolled his eyes at their kissey faces.
"So, what do you think?" Donnie asked, stepping forward and holding out the arm.
Y/n grinned, "I think it's awesome! Fuck ya, I get to be a fucking Transformer!"
And they all laughed.

Hi Hi!!!! So I've been following your account for a little while now and I love every single comedy bomb you drop on what you write so I was wondering....
How would the boys react to their S/O who is usually reserved when at the lair, doing a full 180 when at April's? Like they could be April's roommate or something?....
Like crackhead energy, dishing out memes and vines and literally having a duel with Casey about leftovers in the fridge?... Yeah I know it's very specific 💀
I don't know.....the idea just popped into my head but I lack the creativity and comedy skills for that...so I was wondering if you could do something with this?.....
It's totally fine, if not 😁😁
This is... 100% me. I love this and I'm gonna pour my soul into it. Also I have started mentally referring to these as comedy bombs and I refuse to stop.
Also, I hope you don't mind that I wrote these in oneshot form instead of bullet points. It just made more sense for my brain.
TMNT Oneshots
The boys with a partner whose reserved at the lair but an absolute crack gremlin at home 🤣
Donatello
Donnie may have been a man of science, all logic and facts and numbers and things. But he absolutely believed that everyone had three separate faces, you were direct proof of that theory. While the purple terrapin had known you for nearly a year you’d only started dating a month ago and it shocked him that he was still uncovering new things about you. He loved it, sure, but it had a tendency to give him figurative whiplash.
He’d always known you to be calm and collected, maybe even a bit shy. He swore you’d explode if more than one person tried to talk to you at the same time. So it wasn’t an over exaggeration for him to say that your behavior at home nearly made him break his neck.
He was only there to help April fix a bug in her laptop and to confirm your next date, he was excited to see you since you’d had no contact in person for a week because of your schedules. Just lots of phone calls and exchanged text messages. You both missed each other like crazy and your roommate had neglected to inform you that your boyfriend was coming over.
Hers was already there and he was driving you up the wall, you’d never actually thought about committing a murder but Casey was pushing you very close to the edge of snapping. And he might as well have crane-kicked you off your cliff of patience and into the rushing river of “you little fucking shit I’m gonna piss on your grave” below. You hadn’t even heard Donnie come in through the window much less his conversation with April over her computer.
All you knew was that Casey had come parading into your room like a tyrant eating the leftovers in the fridge that you had specifically put your name on. That did it. Your eyes had skimmed over the top of your textbook to meet the asshole in front of you.
“Casey?”
He couldn’t speak through the mouthful he was trying to chew and grunted in pathetic response.
“Is that my cheeseburger?”
You’d never seen a living person imitate a pug’s facial structure so well, the man’s eyes bugged out of his head and he tossed the takeout box on your desk before turning and bolting out of your room. You followed about two steps behind with a bottle of shampoo in your hand. No, you weren’t entirely sure where you’d grabbed it from, all you knew was that it was your weapon. And it quickly became a very messy problem when it missed your target (Casey’s head) and slammed into the wall, exploding on impact.
You didn’t think you’d thrown it that hard.
“April April help help help helpppppppppppppp-'' The two on the couch had looked up during the chase throughout the apartment, Donnie was mostly curious at what Casey was screaming about. Not a lot usually made the guy make that noise. He was then distracted by April grabbing the laptop and passing it to him, she then clambered over his legs to sit behind him.
“YOU UGLY ASS CROISSANT! FUCKING PANINI HEAD- IT HAD MY NAME ON IT YOU DAFT AVACADO!”
Your boyfriend almost went vertical upon watching you tackle Casey to the floor and knee him in the groin. You shook the terrified man under you and slammed him a little harder into the rug.
“Touch my shit again and I’m gonna make the beaches of Normandy look like a goddamn family vacation.”
Then you climbed off of him and stood, brushing your disheveled t-shirt off with a huff. Donnie caught your attention and you raised your head to grin excitedly at him.
“Hi Dove! April didn’t tell me you were coming over,” you practically skipped over to the couch to peck him on the cheek, “I missed ya, are we still on for Saturday?”
He nodded in complete shock, his gaze flitting from you to Casey, who was still wheezing on the floor and clutching his dick.
“Uhhh yeah! Yeah, yep, Still good for Saturday. Uhm, completely unrelated question, where the hell did you learn to grapple like that?”
You shrugged absentmindedly, already walking to the hall closet to grab cleaning supplies for the puddle of shampoo in the walkway.
“Just kinda picked it up I guess? I’ve watched you guys train enough.”
Leonardo
See, Leo had always known that you were hiding something from him. Be it your true personality or some deep dark secret. He wasn’t really in a rush to find out, you’d tell him when you were ready. The leader enjoyed your quiet disposition anyways, you gave good advice and liked to meditate with him, what more could he ask for? What more could he want?
Well, maybe if you got along better with his family, although he supposed that wasn’t your fault, you always had been a bit shy. Even six months into your relationship with him, Leo only hoped that you’d warm up to his brothers eventually. You seemed to do alright with Splinter, that was a plus for the situation. It wasn’t that you were mean or impolite to the others, you were just… avoidant. Distant, quiet, whatever word you wanted to use. You just didn’t seem comfortable at the lair.
He was excited that April had asked to host a game night though, maybe you’d come out of your shell (haha, see what I did there?) and socialize, even for a little bit. They’d all shown up a few minutes early to make sure April didn’t need help with anything, she’d assured them that everything was handled and made sure to inform Leo that you would be back shortly with Casey from your snack run. Mikey had joked that you’d ditched the get together to avoid them but they all knew it ran the possibility of not being a joke.
You unlocked the door and held it open so Casey could get inside without tripping himself before entering yourself and kicking your shoes off. Leo looked up to meet your eyes and you sent him a wild grin, your entire face lit up with amusement.
“Hi babes! Are you ready to get your ass kicked at Monopoly?”
All the poor turtle could do was nod.
“Good. I did grab drinks by the way, April there should be a mixer in the cooler bag, Donnie there’s some of that lemon lime stuff that you said you wanted to try, Mikey, orange crush as usual, Raph I tried to go for Dr. Pepper but they were out so I figured that root beer was a safe second. And Leo they had a new boba flavor that you haven’t had yet so I grabbed one. If you don’t like it then you can have mine, I just have the peach royal.”
Beverages were tossed and they were lucky that their surprise didn’t throw off their catching skills. You and April shared a quick word in the kitchen as you took your coat off and ran a hand through your hair.
After some arguments team captains were decided and Donnie nearly had a heart attack when you picked him instead of Leo or either of your friends. He even went so far as to point at himself to make sure you weren’t joking. You declared that while you loved your boyfriend his morals were too strong to be competitive, Donnie’s were not, he said so himself.
They were all surprised that you’d remembered that conversation.
It wasn’t until halfway through the game that things started getting heated, you and Mikey were nearly jumping across the table at each other. And it visibly took all of your strength to not burst out laughing when he started yelling.
"YOU KNOW WHAT? THIS IS CHEATING! YOU'RE CHEATING! GET ON TOP OF THE FRIDGE!"
April and Casey were snorting into their arms as you got to your feet and walked towards the kitchen, making a poor attempt at climbing the appliance.
"THIS HOUSE IS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE!"
Raphael
Raph had always been under the impression that you were never really 100% yourself around him, he knew for a fact that you weren’t when you stayed over. He’d never seen someone so aggressively avoid someone, except himself of course. You were his partner of almost a year and it seemed like you were never going to let your true self shine. However you did seem to lighten up when you were alone with him, he supposed that was normal, but you may as well have been a pair of old earbuds that only work when you held them a certain way at the lair.
He honestly hadn’t expected that to change tonight, not given the text that Casey had sent him informing him of April’s recent breakup with whatever guy she’d been dating. So when he climbed in through the window and saw both you and Casey sitting on the floor in front of the bathroom he really didn’t think that the words out of your mouth would be-
“April you’ve got another twenty minutes of this then I’m ripping the door off the hinges!”
Casey shot you a look and you shrugged nonchalantly before getting to your feet and walking over to your confused boyfriend.
“Hey, sorry about this. Casey only texted you as a last resort if he needed someone to stop me from tearing the door off.”
Raph found that peculiar, “Uh, couldn’t he do it himself?”
The man in question looked up from his spot on the floor.
“Nah dude, they’re crazy. Last time I tried stopping them from doing something they nearly knocked my damn tooth out while screaming, and I quote, “If you put your hands on me I’m gonna fucking rip your face off” and quite frankly I don’t have the balls to test that.”
“No no dude, that’s valid. I wouldn’t either. Babe, why are you so-”
You raised an eyebrow at him over a glass of water, “Violent? I’m not Raph. These two just have little bitch feelings.”
He found it hard not to laugh at that and fifteen minutes later when you left his side to approach the door again it sent him reeling.
“This shit’s temporary April. You’ve got nice teeth and a fat ass, stuff your feelings down!”
Michelangelo
There would never be a time where Mikey wasn’t a prankster with you, it was just simply non-negotiable. You were cool with that and he was aware, he was also aware that no pranks were to be pulled at the lair. So he’d reign it in while you visited, just for a short while. But you’d never said anything about the apartment and Mikey was a creature of opportunity.
Unfortunately Leo talked him out of it and forced him not to pull anything while they visited. The leader was already on edge so when he walked in with the others following closely behind you were the first person to see him. Your eyes caught Mikey’s instantly and you might as well have been telepathic at that moment. But you took one look at Leo’s solid, angry face and seized your moment.
They weren’t at all ready for the scream.
“GET YOUR FUCKIN’ DOG BITCH!”
And they also weren’t ready for Mikey’s response of, “It don’t bite.”
And Leo was not ready for the pillow that got whipped at his face at incredibly high speed.
“YES IT DO-”
So when Leo finally realized that they were yelling at him his mood did not improve at all and in fact declined sharply into a pit of “oh fuck”. And that was how you ended up on Mikey’s shoulder getting dragged away from any sort of repercussion for your actions.
These got a little short near the end but I hope you like 'em and I hope I was able to capture what you had in mind! 😁

Frostbite (Casetello)
AN: do these two have a ship name? Caseytello? eh whatever it’s casey x donnie and they’re gay
special thanks to cal for reading this for me and saying i should post it <3
There were quite a lot of things Casey Jones loved. Hockey, pizza, riding his motorcycle, video games, beating the crap out of his opponents. Normal teenage stuff. Lately he had been doing the latter, ever since he and April officially joined the 'Unofficial Turtles Team' , helping alongside the teen mutants on patrol. Goofing off with Mikey and Raph were the highlights, but he couldn't deny spending extra time with April was also a benefit. Even if they barely got a single word out- too busy fighting off random mutants scattering the city, it was still nice.
But what wasn't nice, downright unpleasant about patrol...was Donatello. There was an unspoken, mutual loathing that the pair shared that even quick glances at each other led to glaring and arguing. Leaving them together in the same room was never a good idea. Casey hasn't understood why the purple genius was so hostile towards him at first. But the reasons became obvious the first time he caught him staring helplessly at April, fumbling his words and blushing profusely. Not that Casey didn't feel similarly, heck, that was the problem. Both were attracted to April. Obviously Casey had the upper hand, being human. A turtle and a human girl in a relationship was built for disaster.
But their hatred didn't stop there. It wasn't just about April. Eventually, everything about Donatello annoyed him. His whiny voice, his love for using complicated words to sound superior, soon every little thing bugged him.
Things were easier if the two stayed as far apart as possible.
Of course, fate seemed to work in mysterious ways.
It was starting to get late, the moonlight illuminating the sky. The group stopped on a rooftop, perched by the edge. Leo halted them silently, then turned around.
"Why'd you stop, Fearless?" Raph asked.
"I think we should split up. We'll cover more ground. If you see any sign of trouble, use your T-Phones." said Leo.
"No way dudes!" Mikey squeaked. "I saw this scary movie last night where the team split up! And then..." He paused for dramatic effect. "They all got taken out one by one. Starting with the cute funny one!" He trembled, hiding behind Donnie, who rolled his eyes.
Raph smirked, always prepared for a sassy remark. "Which means, you'll be just fine since you're neither of those."
"Hey!"
"And you'll be in pairs." Leo crossed his arms. "I've got it all planned out. Raph and April. Mikey and me."
"Mikey and I." Donnie corrected under his breath. Casey fought the urge to whack the smart aleck turtle with his hockey stick.
Leo ignored him. "Donnie and Casey-"
Casey involuntary let out a loud groan. Just his luck.
Leo narrowed his blue eyes, unamused. "Something wrong, Jones?"
"Er..." His eyes darted to Donatello, who seemed stoic, but equally frustrated with this predicament. On one hand, he wanted to argue and beg to be with literally anyone else. On the other, he didn't want to deal with the leader in blue getting annoyed with him. "Nah Leo, that's fine by me. Right, D?"
Donnie huffed. "Yeah, that's alright."
"I think this will be good for you both." April grinned.
"Of course, April." Donnie agreed.
"No problem at all." Casey smiled through gritted teeth. When she turned away, they both shared an equally menacing glare.
"I knew I could count on you two." April smiled softly, though even she didn't look entirely convinced.
This was going to be a long night.
~•~
Turns out, Casey had underestimated the scrawny (ugh, svelte) turtle. In what Donnie lacked in muscle, he gained with his speed, mobility and of course, his mind. It was practically impossible to keep up once Donatello had leaped from the first building, tumbling and landing with ease, while Casey was coughing his lungs out as he ran desperately after the brainy terrapin.
"Okay, now you're just showing off." He panted irritably, nearly collapsing once he finally caught up with him.
"Are you coming or not?" Donnie gave his trademark gap tooth grin as he turned, slowing down.
"I am! You're just moving too fast!" Casey complained. "I thought turtles were supposed to be slow! I didn't even have time to get my grappling hook."
Donnie shrugged, ending the conversation with one simple movement.
They walked side by side, neither wanting to say anything. They both knew it would only end in arguing.
"Can I just say-" Casey started.
"No, you can't."
"I didn't say anything!"
"Exactly."
"Listen, Gap Tooth, I don't like this either!" He flicked a stone off the roof with his shoe. "But we have to ..." He swallowed. "work together, right?"
Donnie said nothing. He looked deep in thought.
"Is it because of April? Because it's not my fault she...y'know likes me more."
At the mention of April, Donnie turned away, eyes flashed with hurt, which only filled Casey with that annoying feeling of guilt.
"It isn't about her."
"Alright." Silence. "Sorry, let's just-" He cleared his throat. "Let's just work together, we don't need to be friends. Just get through the mission. After that, we can go back to hating each other."
"That was...surprisingly mature, Jones. Glad we can agree on something." Donnie quipped. "And for once, you're right. This mission is more important than our petty squabbles. No matter how insufferable you may be."
"Now you're just making up words."
Donnie fought the urge to roll his eyes. "So, that's two more hours of this."
Casey scoffed, but couldn't help but chuckle. Quietly of course. Last thing he wanted was for Donnie to think he was actually amusing.
"So...deal?"
"Deal." Donnie said, then added: "Cave Mouth." Which made Casey shove him lightly.
For a brief moment, they seemed to share a mutual understanding. The silence that followed wasn't awkward or forced, it was comfortable. Well, as comfortable as they could possibly be.
Donnie paused, startled by something. Lifting his bō carefully, he tried to follow whatever the sound was.
"What the-" Casey raised an eyebrow.
"Shh!" He hissed. "Do you hear that?"
"No?" Casey scrunched his nose, listening closely. It sounded like a...buzzing noise? Like a fly or mosquito. Irritating, but not dangerous. "Chill Don, it's just a bug or something."
"No, listen!" The turtle looked frantic and alert.
The buzzing became louder. Then, it was followed by the sound of snapping wood. Deliberate and exact. Casey gulped, taking his own weapon.
A massive shadow flew over their heads and landed in front of them. Donnie yelped in surprise, stumbling forward.
"Ah, shell." He swore, lifting his head to face the hideous insectoid mutant with acid green eyes. Scumbug spread his deformed wings, antenayes raised, prepared to strike.
"Well, I was right. That definitely is a bug. Scumbug! Wicked! This'll be fun!" Casey sneered.
"Which makes no sense, considering stag beetles aren't even bugs! They're insects!" Donnie spun his staff like a propeller, hitting the mutant face on.
"Not the time!" Casey tackled Scumbug, who roared, jostling him aside like a ragdoll. He smacked the floor with a sickening thud, directly on his arm. He fought back a scream of agony. "Do you- gah- seriously have to be such a know it all, all the time?" He looked at his arm, which currently looked seriously messed up.
Donnie looked affronted. "I am not a know it all!"
"Yes you are!" Another whack of his trusty hockey stick, followed by a knock to the ground, face first. He wiped his mouth from the metallic taste of blood.
"No I'm not!"
"Yes you- Donnie, look out!" Casey shrieked, sounding less manly than he intended.
Scumbug, now furious, had efficiently used his enemies' bickering to his advantage. Before he could turn around, a spider web twirled from its appendages binding Donatello to the ground, who kicked and struggled furiously.
The mutant now crouched over the captured turtle, prepared to strike with his signature acid spit.
"Hang on, D! Casey Jones is here to save the day! GOONGALA!" He bellowed, racing towards Scumbug and latching onto him like a demented parasite. It was hardly the most graceful of moves, but it distracted him briefly.
He raised his hockey stick, poking him hard in the eye in an attempt to gouge them. Eyes were sensitive- he remembered Splinter telling him that.
With the extra time, Donnie reached for his bō, ripping the web apart with the extended naginata blade.
Scumbug, now looking more disheveled and horrifically disfigured than normal, retreated blindly into the misty air.
"I didn't need your help." Donnie said bitterly.
"Aw, is that any way to say thank you?" Casey retorted. "I just saved your shell." He poked his plastron roughly. "I think I deserve a little appreciation for my heroism."
"I had it handled."
"Did you? Because you looked just about ready to be eaten by Scumbug."
Donatello scowled, moving closer. "And he got away. So your heroism didn't exactly work, did it?"
"Would you rather have acid stuck to your face?" Casey growled. "You'd look even freakier than you do now. Next time you're a little 'turtle in distress' don't expect me to come save your-"
"I didn't need saving." Their foreheads pressed together, any moment ready to face each other on.
Casey gritted his teeth. "Sure, whatever you say. I didn't help because I actually cared about you or anything."
"Then why did you?" Donnie snapped, pulling away. "You could have left me."
"Because I- you- argh!" Casey felt his temper rising. "Because I'm not a monster, alright? We're a team, and we help each other. That's the deal." He wiped his chapped lips again, the disgusting taste of blood still lingering. He winced, clutching his arm.
"I can patch you up at the lair." Donnie said softly. "It just looks sprained."
"Mm." Casey grumbled, still pissed. Stubbornness was taking over any injury he had. He'd rather have his arm stay at this awkward angle than admit he was hurt in front of his rival. "I'll just wrap it up at home. I'll be fine."
Donnie sighed, raising his palm to his face. "Don't be so stubborn, I can help you."
Casey didn't look convinced.
"To repay the favor?" His warm brown eyes looked surprisingly sincere. "You did help me, after all. I'd probably be toast if you didn't."
Casey snorted. "You got that right."
A beat. Donnie looked unsure, as if he wanted to say something else. But whatever it was, it was holding him back.
"So...we should go back to the lair then?" Casey suggested, easing the awkwardness.
"Huh? Yes, of course. Totally. " Donnie nodded. "Naturally."
"Alright then."
"Jones?"
Casey turned, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah?"
"I just wanted to say...thanks."
"Hey, no problem. But don't tell anyone I saved your ass."
"Deal."
~•~
Casey never expected to be sitting in Donnie's lab table, in between Timothy the blob-organ filled mutant and several bunsen burners, but life tended to be weird that way. He also didn’t expect to be pouting on said table like he was at some freaky doctor’s office. The rest of the team returned shortly after them, and seemed surprised that Donnie was actually willing to fix Casey's arm- and not begrudgingly.
Donnie returned with a first aid kit, setting it on the table. He hummed a familiar tune to himself, as if to fill the empty air of any more awkwardness.
"I've seen these before." Casey said, poking the bunsen burner tap, immediately then swatted away by Donatello. "At my school's science lab."
Donnie nodded, rolling up Casey's sleeve to examine his bare arm. Casey flinched, not comfortable with the random act of touching. "Hey don't!"
"Do you want your arm fixed or not?"
"...yeah."
"Then let me work my magic."
Casey frowned, staring at the bottle the turtle was holding. "Your magic looks like antibiotics and advil."
Donnie's lip twitched.
After his arm was treated somewhat, Donnie wrapped him up gently with a clean bandage. The slow movement made his heart race increase every time Donnie's fingertips brushed his arm, but he ignored it.
Don't be weird, Jones.
"That should be good. Don't put any pressure on it." said Donnie, passing him the advil. "And take this, it'll soothe the pain."
Casey pretended to look offended. "Here I thought you were gonna kiss it better."
Donnie rolled his eyes up to the ceiling. "Don't push it, Jones. We aren't there yet."
Casey laughed. "Yet. Thanks for fixin' my arm, D. You...aren't so bad, I guess. But let's go back to hating each other, alright?"
Donnie smirked. "Whatever you say."

AU Blind Murdock Reader x Leonardo-(TMNT2014/2016) Chapter 1
“This wasn’t how I pictured the night going.”
You grunted, holding your side as you walked through the alley. Crime fighting really wasn’t as fun as everyone seemed to think. There were good days, and then there were days like this, where you’d dodged a bullet, literally. Your most recent engagement wasn’t as simple. What you thought to be just a few drug dealers cutting a deal to sell weapons was in fact an organization moving equipment into the country.
They weren’t especially happy when you blew up their entire shipment. That’s when the gunshots started. You winced at the blood rushing down your arm, clutching the injured limb. Although you managed to avoid any fatal injuries, one of the shots did connect, not to mention you had to fight off half a dozen men just to get out of there. Your body was battered and hurt, the only thing really keeping you up was your sheer will to make it back to your apartment before you passed out on the street from blood loss.
When you hands grazed the wall, you froze, titling your head. “Come out, I know you’re there.” There was nothing but silence for a few moments, then you heard a voice.
“Dudes how did she know we were here, we’re ninjas!” You heard a smack, and then a grumble as the individuals made themselves known.
“One...two, three four..”
Four of them. You straightened your form, Sliding your foot forward slightly, just to get a feel of your environment. If they were a threat, your hope was you could use something close by to fight back. The action gave you a general idea of what was around, it also gave you a slight sense of alarm. The vibrations from their movements weren't making sense.
“These guys are...huge.”
You clenched your fists, ready for anything.
“Stand down, we aren’t trying to pick a fight, My brother saw you struggling, seems you need a hand.”
“What are you?” Their heartbeats were all echoing in sync, and the size couldn’t be real. Maybe your senses were messed up from the beating you’d taken.
“Heh, should have expected that.” Another voice cut in.
“Be nice Raph, she’s hurt.” You were still guarded, and when one of them took a step forward, you braced your hands in front of your face.
“I promise you I won’t hurt you.” You don’t know what was crazier, the fact that these people were apparently giants, or possibly the way you felt reassured by the tenderness of his voice.
“Leo!” you’re head darted in the direction of the voice further away. Leo took a step over to him, and there was another pause.
“You’re blind.” surprise was evident on your face. Your eyes were blocked by the dark cloth, so how did he know. Who were these people? You didn’t like this.
“That’s crazy, how can she be blind, she looks like that picture I was reading about a few days ago. You know the vigilante.”
“We’re the vigilantes numnut!!” Another smack.
“No brah! That daredevil dude, now that I think about it she’s a girl. Everyone thought it was a guy..”
You took a few steps back, and one of them took one in your direction, reaching for you. “Wait you’re bleeding and we-” you grabbed his outstretched hand, raising your other hand to strike him in the chest but it collided with a hard surface. You gasped, pulling back your now bruised knuckles. “W-What the hell…” His chest was as hard as rock. His arm too, it didn’t feel human at all. It felt...scaly.
You needed to think fast. Turning your head, your fingers twitched.
“Sword.”
They all had weapons, but the one to the right had something you could use to get the upper hand. With a swift jump, you used the wall to pivot yourself in the air. As you flipped over, you grabbed the blade right out the strap he had it secured in. He turned in shock and as he moved forward, you pointed it at the other male's neck. Everyone was still.
“How did you do that…”
Now you were going strictly on adrenaline. You could barely feel the throb of the bullet wound in your arm anymore. “I don’t know what the hell you are, hell maybe I’m delirious, but make no mistake, I’m not gonna go down easy.” You pressed the edge of the blade to his throat, and you could feel his adam’s apple bob as he swallowed.
“L-Leo..” This Leo guy must have been the leader.
“Woah...she’s a ninja too dudes!!”
“Are they kids?” This one sounded more excited than scared.
“She better move that damn sword from Donnie’s neck!” This guy was angry, and you heard him gripping at his own weapons.
“Calm down Raph.” He must have been talking to the angry one.
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t slice up my brother. Here.” When he reaches for his other sword, you hold tightens. He did everything slowly, unsheathing it and placing it slowly on the floor. The one you had hostage dropped his bo staff, and the other did the same, his nunchunks hitting the floor.
There was still one left.
“All of them.” you stated.
“Raph!” There was a grunt, and you finally heard the clanking of two sais on the concrete.
“Okay, now it’s your turn.” you didn’t respond immediately. For a few moments you just tried keeping track of all their positions in case they tried anything. You took a step back, still holding the sword. You heard a sigh of relief when you removed the sharp blade from his throat.
“Now talk.” you demand.
“You must have a hell of a lot of friends with that shitty attitude.” you frowned, raising the sword, and Leo raised his hands. “Come on guys let’s get along.”
“Talk.” you seethed.
“Well, I guess we should start from the beginning. My name is Leonardo, these are my brothers. We’re not your regular family. “
That was an understatement.
Yep, tonight definitely wasn’t turning out how you would have liked.
“Should have just stayed home and watched netflix.”
You were missing Law and Order for this.
“Listen whether you want to accept it or not, you’re hurt. I just want to help. Please.” your hands trembled.
He wasn’t wrong. It was a wonder you were still standing. You supposed your tolerance for pain was getting better everyday.
“You guys aren’t human.” you mutter.
“We’re not.”
Trust wasn’t your strong suit, but you could hear it in his voice, he was telling the truth. If you wanted to live through the night, you would have to go on faith, something you hadn’t done in a while. You winced when a wave of dizziness struck you. Seems the weight of everything was finally kicking in.
“Shit.”
You couldn’t even hold up the blade anymore. That little stunt might have taken out more than you realized. You dropped the sword, and your body was about to meet the same faith, but two strong arms caught you. You wanted to resist, push him away, kick his butt. Anything to get out of this situation, but as it stood, you’d probably lost more than 2 liters of blood by now. You raised your arm weakly to create some distance, but it did nothing. The male holding you scooped you into his arms with a sigh. “I know you’re scared, but no matter what I won’t let you die.”
Your chest was heaving, you could feel yourself slipping because the sound around you was starting to fade.
“Don’t cry.” you had to chant it in your head, because the last time you felt like this was when you found your father after his boxing match. The last one he’d ever done. Giving into the inevitable, you slumped. Body finally giving out from exhaustion.
“Grab your stuff, we have to get her to the lair now!”
“You’re joking, chick tried to cut up Donnie! Just drop her off at a hospital and let someone else deal with her. How do we even know she’s not some criminal.” Raph argued. Leo knew he was more pissed that he’d been forced to surrender than anything. He got his sias, still glaring at your unconscious body. Mikey and Donnie were getting their weapons as well.
“Mikey said she was the vigilante, she’s one of the good guys. She’s so young too. If we carry her to the hospital it’ll blow her cover, just imagine how many people want her dead. She’ll be vulnerable. ” Leo was more than a little stunned. The articles he browsed through, he was sure that it was a man, and someone much older. But it was a girl, around the same age they were, and she was blind.
“Leo’s right, if we don’t help her now she’s gonna die.” Donnie strapped on Leo’s sword since his hands were occupied, and they all followed as Leo took off.
“Hang in there.”
His one hope was he'd be able to help you.

Own it..then Redeem it (2007!Leonardo x reader)
Chapter 2: An Excuse
The annoying alarm goes off at 7 a.m in the morning. You open your eyes and remind yourself that Winters was gonna come by to take you to a cafe for coffee and maybe breakfast. You get out of the bed quickly, feeling like you might doze off into more sleep, then you’ll be late. You put on some music to bring up the energy. You get your clothes and get into the bathroom for a hot shower to also wake you up. You honestly wish that you could make coffee for yourself, but that’s gonna have to wait.
Once you're done getting dressed, you start doing your hair and applying light makeup. Then you hear your phone ring from the bedroom. Thinking that it’s Winters, you get out of the bathroom quick and grab your phone from your night stand. Your phone showed that it was April that was calling. You sighed in relief, because you thought Winters was waiting for you outside your door. The man was pretty much unpredictable when it came to you.
You brought your phone to the bathroom and put it on speaker while you're getting ready.
“Morning April, let me guess, Casey still woke up late?” You greet playfully while finishing your hair and double checking each side in the mirror to make sure it's good.
“At this point it’s predictable of him, morning (Y/n). I just wanted to call to check up on you, and heard that you're having a little date this morning.” April said a little excitedly in the end.
“I knew Raph was gonna crack at some point.” You rolled your eyes playfully.
“He actually told me to check up on you because last night, but hearing the background music means that you're feeling better?” April asked, trying to hide the concerned voice but you could still hear it.
“I’m actually feeling good this morning, you can tell him and everyone else that I’m doing good. I need to build up strength at some point, right?” You couldn’t help but smile at everyone trying to check up on you. You put a lipstick that matches your lip color but a little darker to make your eyes pop out. You looked at yourself in the mirror one more time and grabbed the phone to go to the living room.
“That’s good to hear, I’ll make sure that everyone else knows.” April’s tone was relieved and happy.
“So, any luck finding the ‘fearless leader’?” You turned on the t.v and sat on the couch. You couldn’t help but ask about him. April paused for a second and sighed.
“I did find him, but it seems like he’s not coming back. He disappeared before I could keep persuading him.” April tried to not mention the details of the conversation she had with Leo.
She wanted Leo to tell you exactly what he told her. She couldn’t stress how much she wanted to help you find closure...or maybe at least she felt an ounce of hope of getting the two of you together. The two of you were a perfect symbol of love, all the differences that you two had, and you guys still loved each other despite all the flaws. That actually inspired her to realize that she should accept Casey for his ‘vigilante game’. She just fell in love with him like that in the first place.
“Well that’s Leo for you, he never breaks once he makes up his mind. I just feel bad that he won’t at least visit Splinter and his brothers. I guess he found another señorita that wouldn’t let him leave.” You said a little bitterly at the end.
“(Y/n)...that probably isn’t why-” You interrupted her when the news came up. An oddly familiar news.
“Whoa, wait April, you're probably right. Turn the t.v on and check the news.” You quickly told her.
“What is it? Alright, hold on.” You hear April turning on the t.v and it was in sync with yours.
“We interrupt the Gilmore Girls, for this special news report.” The News Anchor came on. " Monsters loose in the city? Strange reports are coming in tonight about a construction sight incident, that sounds like something out of science fiction.”
“Is it me or does that sound like Leo somehow changed his mind?” You raised an eyebrow suspiciously.
“That actually does seem like it...” April was a little stunned by the news.
“Splinter must be pissed, his favorite show interrupted by this news. I don’t even wanna know how much in trouble the guys are.” You hissed at their possible punishment from their father.
“Are we even sure that he’s back? I mean, like you said, he can be pretty stubborn.” April sounded unsure.
“I can ask Raph tonight...or maybe you, Casey, and I can go visit the guys tonight to see for ourselves.” You suggested a little hesitantly. You don’t know why you wanted to check that Leo’s back. ‘Come on (Y/n), just focus on Winters.’ You thought and shook your head from any thoughts of Leo.
“I guess we can check later tonight, but are you sure that you're up for it?” April was a little worried. More worried of how you’ll react to his return. Will all your wounds resurface? Or your bubbled up anger at the blue masked turtle. ‘Leo, you have no idea what you're expecting.’
“I’ll be fine. I promised Mikey that I’ll visit after my shift today, gotta be there for the guy.” You smiled, remembering how much they missed your absence since you were busy.
“That’s some timing huh? Looks like we're gonna see the guys tonight.” April chuckled, knowing Mikey he would give you a surprise visit if you didn’t complete your end of the promise.
You heard a knock on the door and you jumped straight up from the couch.
“Oh uh, April I’m gonna have to hang up, Winters is outside my door.” You start to get a little nervous about this little outing.
“Relax, it’s just a little coffee. Advice: If you feel that you're about to say the wrong thing, just drink the hot coffee and think of something else quickly.” April chuckles and you could even hear her grin through the phone.
“Did you use that advice with Casey?” You playfully roll your eyes.
“Nope, Casey used that advice with me, he was the one that made it up.” April giggles at the memory.
“That’s pretty smart coming from him. Alright, I’ll see you later.” You laugh softly and grab your keys.
“I’ll be expecting you over my place, bye (Y/n).” April smiles.
“Bye April.” You hung up the phone smiling and looked at the door. You haven’t felt this nervous since Leo knocked on your window to escort you to the lair after you finished your homework for high school. You smiled at the memory of your crush for him. No guy at your school gave you the butterflies like he did, no matter how much they tried.
You shake your head and frown at yourself for letting those past memories resurface your head. You walk up to the door while grabbing your purse and open the door. Winters stood there with a kind smile and a nice suit.
“(Y/n), you look radiant this morning, are you ready.” Winter complimented politely with a greeting.
“Morning Winters, you don’t look bad yourself. I’m good to go.” You smiled, closing the door behind you and locked the door with your keys.
“Shall we?” Winters offered his arm to you and you smiled at the gesture.
“Oh, you British are so smooth.” You smiled, grabbing his arm with one hand while putting the keys away in your purse with the other. Winters chuckled at your comment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Leonardo...I am most disappointed in you. You are the eldest of your brothers. I was counting on you to bring order to the chaos of this family. This is why I have forbidden any surface activities. We cannot return to the surface to fight evil, if we continue to fight each other.” Splinter was disappointed with his son's outcomes. How can his son get into trouble so soon? And at the surface no less.
“But Master Splinter, how can I be expected to do something when Raph-” Splinter cuts Leo off while raising his voice.
“There are no excuses when you are the leader, my student.” Splinter told his son.
“He apparently has one for hurting (Y/n).” Raph muttered.
“What did you say?” Leo glared at Raph.
“Ya heard me.” Raph shot back.
“Enough!” Splinter hit the staff on the floor and made them quiet. “You both need to solve your problems as brothers, otherwise you my sons will have unnecessary endless battles.”
Raph was just glaring at the floor while Leo gave a sigh.
“We need to find who’s responsible for this, there ain’t no other solution.” Raph changes the subject.
“Save the brute vigilante junk for that Night Watchmen.” Leo scoffed.
“Night Watcher.” Donnie and Raph corrected him tiredly.
“Yea, whatever.” Leo said, uncaring for the new vigilantes name.
“I’m going out.” Raph excused himself to Splinter and left the room.
Once Raph left, Splinter sighed to himself and looked at his master's picture. All of his son’s are disoriented, he misses how close their sons were. When he sent Leo to Central America to make his leadership stronger, he never imagined that it would affect his relationship with his brother, especially his son’s romantic relationship. Splinter is starting to feel that it’s his fault for this broken road.
“Um, Master Splinter? Can I go so that I can schedule pizza boxes for tonight?” Mikey spoke up from the awkward silence. Splinter's ears perked up and faced his sons.
“What is the special occasion tonight, Michelangelo?” Splinter asked his youngest son with a raised eyebrow.
“Well, (Y/n)’s coming for a visit tonight, and the birthday cake took over the fridge.” Mikey smiled. Leo’s eyes widen a bit and he turns to his brother.
“Wait, (Y/n)’s coming? Does she know I’m here?” Leo asked hesitantly.
“No, but it should be a good surprise...right?” Mikey smiled at first but then looked at Donnie unsure. Donnie sighed quietly.
“How do you even know she’s gonna come by, she’s been busy lately.” Donnie raised an eyebrow.
“Raph told me last night that she promised to come by for a visit. You know she means it when she gives me a promise.” Mikey grins.
“At least her presence will make you stop asking about her.” Donnie points out, making Mikey pout.
“Her presence is probably what we need at the moment, Donatello. I personally would like to know what she has been doing and how she's doing.” Splinter smiles at the mention of you, and looks at the picture with everyone together. You had a special place in everyone's heart. You’re like a daughter to Splinter, all those years ago when you met his sons.
“My sons, you are dismissed, but Leonardo I want you to stay.” Splinter said nodding to Donnie and Mikey. His two son’s left and slid the door to close for privacy.
“Master Splinter, I’m sorry that I failed you and my brothers. I’ll assure you that it won’t happen again.” Leo bowed in respect to his father.
“I know you will my son, but that is not what I wanted to talk about.” Splinter walked around his table and gestured for Leo to stand.
“Then...what is it about?” Leo asked confused, standing up on his feet.
“I know I have told you that your absence brought difficulty towards Raphael, but it has also brought wounds on love.” Splinter pointed at the picture of all of him and his sons together with (Y/n). Splinters eyes and smile was focused on the way Leo and (Y/n) held each other. You had one arm around his son's neck while your other hand was on his chest lovingly, you wore the happiest smile. Leo had his arms around your waist, holding you close to his chest, with the most loving smile.
“You mean (Y/n)...” Leo said sadly, realizing Splinter’s hint.
“Leonardo, is it true that you ended your happiness with the woman you claimed that you would do anything for?” Splinter asked straight to the point.
“Yes master...it was a hard decision to make for her own good.” Leo turned to his father.
“My son, you may be the leader of the team to make decisions for everyone's well being, but your relationship only relied on choices to make each other happy. What was for her own good?” Splinter dug a little deeper.
“While I was the ‘Ghost of the jungle’, I realized that I couldn’t give her everything she deserved. All those people in the village may have been poor, but they all never got to hide in the dark.” Leo looked down and then looked back up at the picture of you. Splinter gave him a moment to continue.
“I tried my best to protect the village from those who wanted to terrorize it. There was a child who was held hostage by those bad guys. They only wanted something valuable in return, so the mother had to give up a priceless necklace for her son’s safety. They stood by their word to release her son, but who's to say that they wouldn’t come back to finish them off. Of course I defeated them and returned the items.”
“You have given the villagers everything. A mother can sleep knowing her son is safe from those bad men. I know they are thankful for your help.” Splinter looked at his son with a raised eyebrow, not clearly understanding the comparison of the situation.
“They can’t exactly thank something they can’t see...I don’t want (Y/n) to give up every opportunity or all the things she worked for just because of me. I can’t give her a child without risking her life. I wouldn’t be a good fit for her as a husband, to not be able to be there for her in the surface daylight when she needs me there for support.” Leo explained sadly with a sigh. Splinter’s expression softened at his son’s confession.
“(Y/n) is one of the strongest and most understanding people we know. Your decision took a lot of strength to fulfill but it also hurt more than it was to benefit. You should tell her your concerns so that she can also make a choice. Unless the wounds you made were intended to make her frown at your name.” Splinter put his hand on Leo’s shoulder.
“Sensei...if I let her choose to love me, then she would lose everything.” Leo looks at his father.
“You should be more worried if she chooses to let you go. It’s not everyday that you meet a woman who would love you for the way you are, inside and out. You, my son, will probably lose the one woman who accepted, not only you, but the consequences that she will meet in the future just for loving you. Leonardo, are you willing to accept that fate?” Splinter faced his eldest son with a serious tone in his voice.
Leo looks at Splinter and opens his mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. He turns back to the picture of you and remembers that day. You both couldn’t help but stay together all day in each other's arms. Not even caring about anything else, just each other. He couldn’t get enough of your eyes, smile, laughter, or the way your nose crinkles when he kisses your nose.
“No...I don’t think I’m willing to accept that fate, father.” Leo stood up straight, finally feeling a little weight off of his shoulders and heart.
“Then you know what you must do, you are dismissed, my son.” Splinter smiles satisfyingly at Leo’s response. Leo bows and retreats from the room. Splinter takes one last look at the picture and smiles to himself. ‘Soon, things will be better than what they once were.’
Leo goes to his room to think about what he should be ready to tell (Y/n). He’s missed a lot since the day he left for his training. Looking at the picture of you and him made him smile. He wants to explain that letter to you, that there were some concerns he had. That he knows that it was a dumb reason, and it doesn’t excuse him from the heartbreak he gave you. He hopes that he can have a second chance.
‘I’m hoping that you didn’t move on yet…’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You laughed at the small child for accidentally spilling juice on Winters’ shoulder from behind. The mother apologized many times and Winters reassured her that it was fine. The mother and her child made their way out of the cafe.
“I’m happy this amuses you Ms. (Y/n).” Winters playfully sarcasms while cleaning his shoulder with a napkin.
“Can you honestly blame me Mr. Winters? This is the first I’ve ever seen you have an accident with your suit.” Your laugh slowly faded into a giggle.
“I honestly thought that I wouldn’t come across this incident, especially not in front of you.” Winter’s crumbles the napkin and puts it aside.
“There’s no need to look all perfect for a girl like me.” You grinned and drank more of your coffee.
“On the contrary my dear, you deserve everything perfect coming your way.” Winters gives you a playful wink.
“How are you British so smooth? It’s like you guys practiced all your lives with these lines.” You laughed softly. Winters chuckled at the way you got a mustache thanks to the coffee.
“Hold still for me.” Winters took another napkin and leaned over the table to hold your chin softly but firmly. You froze on the spot, your eyes questioning for an explanation. He carefully wiped the coffee on your top lip. You can see the focused expression he has, and now that you're looking closely...you have to admit that he looks handsome for a rich guy.
Winters pulled the napkin away and smiled at his work. He looked from where he cleaned to your eyes. Your breathing hitched quietly when he decided to lean closer. His phone suddenly rang making him let go of your chin and lean back to look at his phone. You sighed in relief a little, cause you still weren’t sure if you're ready for that step yet...and you didn’t want to lead him on if you changed your mind.
“I’m sorry to cut this short my dear, but this is an emergency. There seems to be a complaint with another company that I recently made partners with.” Winters glared a bit at the phone but it softened apologetically when he looked up at you.
“It’s fine really, I probably need to get to my shift anyways, my boss needs all hands on deck.” You smiled reassuringly. Winters kindly paid for coffee plus breakfast and gave a tip to the waiter. You both grabbed your coffee to go and left the cafe.
“Do you want me to give you a ride to your workplace?” Winters asked looking down at you.
“So I can earn some envious glances from my employees by riding a limo with a rich guy I just had breakfast with? No thanks, I’m good for today with just a free coffee in my hands.” You smiled at him and he chuckled.
“Your way of declining my offers are endearing, but maybe you’ll accept it one of these days. Until next time my dear.” The limo arrives and he gives you a kiss on the cheek before entering the spotless vehicle. You smiled and waved while the limo drove away.
Once the vehicle was gone, you sighed to yourself. The only thing that bothered you was that everything happened in that cafe didn’t displease you like those kids at high school. It felt like a natural date. Sure, it wasn’t like having a date with Leo, but it was genuine in it’s own way.
You kept walking down the sidewalk and stopped when you saw a park. Two parents playing tag with their kids together. The dad was ‘it’ and ran for the mother while the kids were laughing at their parents childishness, it made you chuckle as well. The dad caught the mom in his arms and spun her around until they fell on the grass with her on his lap. They all laughed and the parents held each other and gave each other a loving kiss in front of the kids. This made you silent and a little sad.
‘Maybe I wanted to convince myself that I don’t need him, an excuse to not love him anymore.’
When the realization hit you, you just didn’t know what your next move was.

Ice Breaking Utterance-Donnie
Donatello 2014 Version
+ Y/N always felt like Donnie didn’t like her. In reality, he just didn’t know how to act around her. So he would act dismissive but never cross. One day, all of them are hanging out and Donnie cracks a quiet comeback to one of Raph’s one liners. Only Y/N hears it though and bursts up laughing. She gets strange looks from everyone but Donnie who starts to laugh too. One statement finally breaks the ice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/N’s POV
It wasn’t the first time that I had been ignored and excluded by a single person. Not in the slightest was it the first time. But it was the first time it had been by someone I was actually close too. Well, not really close but by someone that I spent a lot of time with. I spent 80% of my time in the lair with the guys, April, and Casey. At least, three out of the four of the guys. Donnie for some reason…avoided me, ignored me, anything to where he didn’t have to deal with me. I don’t know what I did.
“And from what I heard Bebop and Rocksteady are living as comfortable as those two can.” Casey said. “The higher ups are still trying to figure what to do with them completely.”
“I say put them in a dark hole and forget about them.” Raph said from his spot at his weights. Everyone agreed to an extent. I settle back into the couch next to April as the guys conversed about the battle they had with the two idiot criminals.
“Do all men live in their past, like this?” I asked leaning into her shoulder with my arms crossed. She laughed.
“Most do. But I thought…” She trailed off for a second. We both looked back the guys then simultaneously looked at each other. “These boys would be the exception.”
“Apparently not!” I laughed hard. She joined me in laughing while I doubled over into her lap laughing and trying to catch my breath.
“Alright everyone! Gather round, I got the grub!” Mikey yelled as he came in with a tower of boxes. The guys all rush forward and passed out the boxes. The guys all chose places around the room only leaving only spot left for Donnie. I gave him a small smile as he sat down. He just gave me a blank look. I shrunk back a bit before turning back to the others. Casey was talking about some of his past assignments, trying to impress April I think.
“I remember this one guys that thought he was this really big, rough and tough guy when he was in reality a guy barely under 5 foot and weighed no more than 130 pounds. He was just a robber that got lucky then unlucky.” He kept going on and on with quips from Raph and Mikey.
“I guess that’s shows you how the criminal master minds aren’t as smart as they make themselves out to be. Trying to pull off things that are way out of their league.” Mikey joked around.
“Yeah, they try until we come along and squash every last one of them. Foiling their dastardly plans.” Raph said with confidence. Mikey and Casey laughed but Leo just rolled his eyes with a smile. I just shook my head and leant my hand on the back of the couch, spacing out until Donnie’s voice caught my attention.
“Scientists say the universe is made up of Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons. They forgot to mention Morons.” I choked and burst out laughing. Everyone looked at me in confusion. I looked at Donnie and smiled while still laughing. He realized that I heard him and started laughing too.
“What the heck guys?” Mikey asked super confused.
“Nothing Mikey. Don’t worry about it!” I said finally calming down. I looked at Donnie and giggled. “Not sure if you morons would understand. Good one, Don.” I said half expecting him to not respond. He smiled, chuckling and muttered a thanks before turning back to the conversation. I looked at him in shock before returning my attention as well.
*Time Skip*
A while later, everyone separated to do their own things. Casey left for home, commenting on having an early shift in the morning. Leo and Raph went to the dojo, Mikey took over the TV, April went to speak with Master Splinter, and Donnie retreated to his lab. I sat, a little apprehensive on the couch. I wanted to go talk to Donnie but was afraid he would be like before. I kept glancing at the door to his lab.
“Just go already!” I jumped at the voice and turning to see Mikey looking at me expectantly.
“What?”
“GO talk to the genius. I know you want too.” Mikey said pointing at the door with his controller.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I darted my eyes around, avoiding his gaze. I heard him scoff. Suddenly he was standing in front of me. I recoiled back in surprise.
“Bull.” He said before picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. “It’s not unapparent the tension between you two you know. I have seen how he has been dismissive of you since the beginning. I also noticed the little moment you two had earlier.”
“Mikey…” He was walking towards the lab.
“No, no.” He set me down on the ground. “Go!” He shoved me into the room before shutting the door. I stumbled and fell the ground hard.
“Ow.” I groaned rubbing my elbow and sitting up slightly. I green hand appeared in front of me, spooking me a bit. I looked up and saw Donnie. I gave him a small smile and grabbed his hand. He pulled me up and helped steady me.
“Are you alright?” He asked. I nodded but winced as my fingers brushed a cut on the back of my arm. Donnie noticed and pulled my arm to him. He looked before guiding me farther into the room. I sat down as he got supplies to dress my cut. He silently got to work.
“Thank you.” I said not being able to stand the awkward silence. He looked up at me and sighed. I bit my lip as he finished.
“You’re welcome.” He said as he stepped back and leant against one of his tables. He crossed his arms before pinched the bridge of his beak. “I’m sorry.”
“What?” I looked at him surprised. He let his hand fall from his face.
“I’m sorry for the way I’ve acted. I had no right. I just…” He trailed off, looking away. I smiled.
“Go on.”
“I just didn’t know how to act around you, Y/N. I don’t even know why either.” He got up and started pacing. “You were just somehow different from April, Casey, and Vern. I just couldn’t act normal around you. My chest would tighten and my heart would start to race. Like it is now.” He began to ramble. I chuckled as I realized what he was saying.
“Donnie.” He didn’t hear me. I got up and walked toward him. He didn’t notice until I grabbed him by the tails of his mask. He yelped as I pulled him to me. He turned around quick and yelped again when I placed my lips on his. I pulled away and looked at him. “I understand and it’s okay.”
“What? Oh…umm.” He blushed and scratched the back of his head. I smirked. “That all makes sense all of a sudden.” I chuckled. He tentatively set his hands on my waist. “I went about this all wrong, didn’t I?”
“Yep.” I pulled him into a soft kiss. This time his kissed back. Growing comfortable, he pulled me closer and flush against him. “I guess you need to go thank Mikey for pushing me in here.”
“Oh, yeah. Now I know who I need to have a word with.” His face grew serious. He pulled back and grabbed my hand. We walked to the door and he opened it. He leant against the door jam and pulled me against his side, arm over my shoulders. “Hey Mikey!”
“Yeah?” He paused his game and turned around. He saw us and smirked. “So you two made up?” He wiggle his brow ridges. Donnie smiled and nodded. I saw Leo, Raph, and April standing off to the side.
“Yes we did. Thanks.” Mikey got up and bowed. He froze when Donnie spoke up again. “But…you need to be more careful Michelangelo. Next time one of your little stunts results in hurting Y/N again, you’ll wish you pissed off Raph instead of me.” Mikey pales, gulping.
“Oh no. I’m sorry! Won’t happen again!” He squeaked looking very worried. Raph burst out laughing and you could see Leo and April trying to keep it together. Mikey mocked a brave facade. “So are you two like a thing?”
“Mikey!” April berated. He looked at her with a ‘what’ face. As the others bickered, Donnie and I snuck back into the lab.
“So…are we a thing?” Donnie asked. I smiled and thought about for a second but I already knew the answer. With a simple nod, I pulled him in for another kiss. A crash from the other room pulled us apart. The sound of Mikey’s screams and Raph loud threats gave way to the fact that they were up to their usual game of cat and mouse. “They can be big idiots. Sometimes I just want to beat myself hearing them act like this.”
“Self-Control, the only way to survive in a world full of idiots.” I said while leaning towards him. His eyes widened before he cracked up laughing like I did earlier to finally break the ice.
What if in the explosion the brothers got separated?
This is a villain turtle au- if you don’t want to read it you can scroll past! I know it’s a cliche concept but it was fun! And I like doing my own spin on things.
(Note in this au when they’re mutated they are a little older, young kids, as this idea wouldn’t work if they weren’t SEMI competent. They’re still 13, 14, and 15 in modern times, but when they’re first mutated Mikey is 3, Leo and Donnie are 4, and Raph is 5)
Donnie: got scooped up by Draxum in the end, and works as his assistant first, son second. He has a similar position to Foot Recruit; despite being fully capable of actually being useful, he is treated with little respect and does mundane tasks like running errands and fixing random, broken objects. He is trained constantly but is told over and over again that he is “not good enough” yet. Despite this he puts his heart into everything he does. Broken clock? Sure he’ll fix it and it’s got LAZERS now! This causes him to accidentally make problems, and Draxum thinks that Donnie is “a complete and udder fool” which is further from the truth. Villain Donnie is a lot like canon Donnie personality wise but a bit more serious. He does not approve of Draxum’s use of mystic powers, and resents using them himself. He refuses the axe Draxum tries to give him. Draxum has little regard for what Donnie thinks and does, and therefore has an awful relationship with him. And yknow Donnie’s abandonment and self-worth issues? Yeah crank that up to 11. Basically Donnie hates Draxum and the Mystic City, and the Shredder going rouge is the last straw. “WATCH ME! ILL WIPE OUT THE HUMAN THREAT WITHOUT YOUR STUPID MAGIC! YOU HEAR ME BARON DRAXUM- I DEFY YOU!”
Leo: made his way to New York via Senior Hueso. Originally I was going to have him raised by Hueso but then realized it wouldn’t make a lot of sense- so Senior Hueso picks baby Leo up off the streets but ever the wanderer Leo walks right through the GIANT PORTAL IN THE WALL. From there Foot Brute, attempting and failing to find members for the clan, picks up this tiny, promising turtle off the street. “What is that thing?” “I dunno but he’s cute- and we’re in need of members” “That is an actual child” “so?” And then Leo is raised by his two dad- I mean sensei. I put raised lightly. He was treated better than Donnie but he was never given a lot of attention, and therefore turned to causing trouble to get attention. And not just from his dads, from anyone he can. Causing mischief in the city actually helped him in his training, as he became very skilled at sneaking, fighting, and stealing. He butts heads with Foot Recruit a lot because of his constant need for approval and attention. She finds him genuinely annoying while he just views it as “playful teasing.” That comes back to bite him the butt upon meeting Donnie, who comes along to help make form the Shredder armor, but he does not want to be there. Forced to work together, Donnie gets sick of Leo’s crap real fast but they don’t really hate each other, but in the moment they needed to play it off like they did and therefore gave the impression to the other that they DID hate them. Confusing, I know. Draxum tries and fails on multiple occasions to nab Leo but if he does he realizes it’ll put a major dent in his plans. So he forbids Donnie to speak to Leo. But no one stops Leo from talking to him. But Donnie’s coldness and Leo’s cruel banter really doesn’t help them get along. The moment Shredder goes rogue and the Foot Clan collapses, Leo flees in fear. “What if” this and “what if” that but mostly because he tried to take out Shredder and ruined his clan name. But even on the street, Leo remains the same annoying, much more cruel and dark humored mutant.
Mikey: Got scooped up by the Mud Dogs and taken to Big Mama, dragging only Lou’s glasses with him since even as a toddler he picked up anything shiny he saw. I plan to draw the interaction between tiny Mikey and the Dogs (and how Mikey got his name in this au) but that’s a surprise. Anyways pretty quickly he got entered in the Battle Nexus. Think about the appeal that fight would have! Just a couple years of training and then bam! “Introducing Hakka-gu! Our youngest fighter ever- only 8 years old!” And having natural talent and capabilities he was an instant hit. And he wasn’t treated horribly, after all Big Mama couldn’t risk one of her most profitable champions running away. But he is still treated as nothing but that- a profit, a marketable product. No one calls him his real name anymore, no one cares about him, just his capabilities. When he gets injured it isnt “are you okay?” It’s “is your body okay?” And sometimes he’s treated like an idiot- especially by Big Mama. He was never taught language and has very botched speaking patterns because “intelligence isnt important for a champion.” Well eventually he has enough of that, and through a bloodbath, he is able to escape to New York. Now he’ll get respect- he’ll make them respect him. But he gets quickly spotted by the Foot Clan and Draxum, as he’s in the way. Upon finding out about the plans to wipe out humans, he knows he has to stop them. Who can respect him if THESE GUYS wanna take over the world? He’s not getting mistreated again. But when the Shredder goes rogue he panics- he cant stop it but... he knows who can. He goes crawling back to Big Mama and strikes a deal. A better champion. Better than him. And she takes it, although in the end she makes some... alterations to the deal. But this doesn’t stop his quest for respect, and he ultimately heads back to New York.
Raph: Savage! He’s alone, a young child who doesn’t know where to go. He panics, and rampages all the way to New York. After a good, long, temper-tantrum, he finds himself in an alleyway, climbing into a sewer. And there he eats rats, he sets up a not-so-homely-home for himself. He flashes in and out of his anger, but he is almost always emotional and looking for some sort of control in his life. He gets that through rampages, causing destruction in any way he can. Usually he doesn’t make TOO much of a mess but he’s brought down a few buildings in his time. Eventually, upon seeing a rampaging demon-armor in the streets and seeing 2 figures trying to stop it (at this point Mikey is getting Big Mama) he realizes there are others out there like him. And then begins a struggle for control not over the world, but over himself too. There are times he gains control and although lonely, he knows he must learn. He learns English in flickers, and it isn’t perfect, but he can communicate. He can talk to them. Now he just needs to stop hurting them.
Extra notes:
In this au the only one with their weapon is Donnie. Mikey and Leo are skilled with the weapons they have in canon (the Ōdachi and Kusari-fundo) but they do not have mystic powers. Raph is... well... Raph. He can’t fight with weapons well but he can pack a punch.
Mikey is still a chef and artist, taking a liking to the ability to create, but just like with everything else he “needs to focus on his fights” so he can’t have interests. A kid like Mikey HATES this and any time he can he sneaks away to bake and draw. Usually this is at 2 am.
Leo has anxiety. The minute something not in the plan happens, or a loud noise, or having to talk to someone without a script, he goes into fight-or-flight mode. He often finds that the answer is to fight.
Raph is not necessarily evil- he is an antagonist but he is not evil. He simply has no control and lashes out at everything. That’s why he stays in the sewers. Nothing down there’s moves other than rats, bugs, and the water. But he has to get violent urges out some how.
April is a reporter-in-training in the au, as she never met the turtles until after the Shredder incident. She’s immediately interested in it, as she is everything “supernatural” and she gets dangerously close to some of their fights. I don’t know how they meet yet or if she becomes friends with any of them.
After the Shredder incident, the only thing stopping each turtle from destroying New York is each other. Seriously. They keep getting in each other’s ways because “I want to take over the world, not THEM!”
They all have certain villain stereotypes. Donnie is sort of a mad scientist, Leo is a teasing, monologging villain, Mikey acts like a nut case but has a certain intelligence to him, and Raph appears as a total destroyer.
In the end they get redeemed and find out they’re family, but it takes a while. Mikey is the one to hunt down Draxum, while Leo stalks him. Upon finding this out, having 3 out of 4 looking for each other, they find each other pretty fast. And there’s a big dramatic apology scene with all 3 of them, and at first Donnie thinks they’re conspiring against him and ambushes them but is only met with three harmless turtles who refuse to fight him. They tell him what the deal is and Donnie is shocked. And then he’s pissed. “WHY DIDNT DRAXUM TELL ME!? YOURE LYING! LIARS! NO!” In the end he realizes the truth, but it takes a little “talk” with Draxum. And then Donnie nearly commits murder. Don’t worry they stop him. But there’s no Draxum redemption arc because Donnie would continuously try to commit a felony. April is also somewhere in there and like gives the brothers goodness lessons but idk where that fits in I’m still working this out shajajajajaj
YOUR ARMS FEEL LIKE HOME - Ch. 2: What Works For Us
https://archiveofourown.org/works/21747418/chapters/51883102
“So here’s a philosophical question for you: is it really theft if we’re paying exact change plus tax?” Mike squished into the corner against the back wall of the liquor store (after only getting them slightly lost one last time before finding it) and watched intently while Donnie picked the lock. Leo pulled a long face. “It’s still breaking-and-entering. And we’re underage.” He stood squished on the other side, looking around furtively, as if he were expecting their father to step out of the shadows at any moment and catch them red-handed.
April considered his argument. “In America. Not other countries.” Leo looked at her. “What country are we in?” “Doesn’t mean we’re wrong. Could be a bad law.” “It’s not a bad law.” “Are you sure?” Donnie thrust a hand straight up between the pair. “Hi! Remember me? I’m trying to concentrate here!” Mike looked puzzled. “Why do you need your ears to concentrate on picking a lock?” “Someone hit him for me.” Raph gave Mike a light smack across the back of his head. As Mike rubbed his head, not the least bit perturbed, Donnie laughed, “Bingo!” The back door sprang open with a loud bang as it crashed into the far wall. Everyone went very still, waiting for any indication of an alarm going off, silently or otherwise. Even Mike was frozen, waiting, despite being the one who claimed the store alarm had gone on the blink and nobody had bothered to replace or repair it yet. When they were certain the cops weren’t on their way the group relaxed. April chuckled nervously as they made their way inside. “So we’re officially criminals?” Don gave her a light nudge with his elbow. “Only if someone catches us.” “Which we’re not going to let happen,” Leo said pointedly. “Think you can get the register working, Kitten?” April snorted, “No problem,” and set to work on it. “Oooh, Kaluah!” “No.” Leo grabbed Michelangelo by the bandana tails and yanked him back. “We’re buying beer and then we’re leaving. Raph, get me two Bud Lights.” Raphael leveled him a look that could have brought down a mountain. “I ain’t letting ya drink piss water.” He thrust two Shiner Blondes at his older brother. For himself, Raph selected a six-pack of Shiner 97, and snagged a bottle of Blue Moon for April. “Bingo!” April sang out. The register chirped for her and the cash drawer extended. There was no till, naturally, but that didn’t matter. “Bring ‘em over.” She rang up the Blondes, the 97, and the Blue Moon. “Can I have anoth-” “No,” Raph said. Annoying, but April didn’t feel like getting into it with him. Mike brought over a six-pack of some weird IPA thing called El Dorado, while Donnie grabbed a six of Guinness Extra Stouts. When nobody was looking, Don dropped her a wink. She ducked her head and hid a smile. At least one of the boys wasn’t going to baby her tonight. She rang it all up. Leo shrugged and dropped several neatly-folded bills on the counter top. “Alright, not exact change. They can call it a tip.” “They want a tip,” Donnie grumbled, “here’s a tip - get a new security system. Prefereably not one advertised on your local paranormal podcast.” “Ah, Donnie.” Raph slapped Don on the shoulder. “Nobody robs nobody in dis part ‘a town. Billionaires’ Row’s right down the street. Who’s gonna break in here?” He smirked and snagged his six-pack, leading the way out the back door. “Well, I ought to leave the door unlocked on principle,” Don snarked quietly. He didn’t, though. Locking up was easier than unlocking the door without a key. They stuck to the shadows, returning to their rooftops. Their rooftops - nobody else in the city could claim them the way the kids did. Running was freedom. Rooftop to rooftop was a straight path that only required a leap of faith, something all of them took fearlessly. The boys were machines of muscle and sinew that sprung and landed with precision. April was a little goat, her sneakers skidding on landing, but always recovering her balance in an instant, never losing her footing. They flung themselves at a building that towered over the roof they ran across. As they ran, jumped, and climbed, they caught hold of window ledges, siding, brick, and metal fire escapes. They accomplished all of this with no more sound than a quiet sigh of mortar and a gentle shiver of metal, while the children clambered skyward onto the next roof. Every movement was finesse. They moved fluidly, unseen from building to building, following the bright moonlight until they found a good spot with a nice view and plenty of room. It wasn’t the observation deck at The Rock, but they had a decent view of Central Park and the skyline.
*****
April unhooked her camera from the back of her belt. All the buildings glowed like fireflies in the darkness. She photographed the skyline, getting wide angle shots of several buildings, then photographed people dancing in the street far below them. She even managed to get several shots of a party bus moving slowly down a side street, the music, mostly dance remixes of popular tunes, drifting up as the bus passed by. April swayed, feeling the rhythm, then turned back to her brothers. They sat on the edge of the roof across from her, beers settled neatly against the ledge wall, safe from falling over. She seated herself between Mike and Don, kicking her legs like a little kid. Donnie handed her a bottle from his six-pack instead of the Blue Moon Raph had picked out for her. Either Raph wasn’t paying attention or he’d decided it wasn’t worth arguing about. Around them, the city sang. “Pretty night,” Mike said. “It’s going to start getting cold next month,” Leo said. He pulled a grimace that the others sympathized with. Of all of them, Leonardo felt the cold the worst, though he had learned how to power through it. This was probably going to be the last time they could get out for a long night before the weather got really nasty. That was probably the main reason their father chased them out for the evening. They had never kept to a strictly “human” schedule; the end of September marked a break period from intellectual learning and a return to heavy physical exercise. More advanced combat lessons, extended sparring practice in the dojo, and “winter cleaning,” where their entire home was inspected from bottom to top, searched out for any weaknesses in either defense or in structural integrity. Donnie took a long swig of his beer. “The service manual for the Triumph came yesterday.” Raphael grinned widely. “Awesome!” “You know we’re going to have to start from scratch with the engine,” Donnie said. Raph shrugged. “We gotta start somewhere.” “Oh, God,” Mike sighed. April buried her face in her hand. In March, Raphael and Donatello had pooled their funds and purchased a pile of junk they claimed was a 1973 Triumph Bonneville T120V. According to them, it was a motorcycle. Leo called it a relic of a bygone era. Mike declared it a desperate cry for help. April had hummed “Taps” over it and covered it with an old table cloth, the better to shield the remains from impressionable eyes. Despite its sad condition, Donnie and Raphael played around with it throughout the spring and summer, trying to catalog all the parts and determine what needed the most attention. Don tried looking for instructions online and came to the conclusion they needed a good, solid, hard copy of the service manual if they wanted to get it back to working condition - the idea of smearing grease and assorted bits of metal over his computer rubbed him the wrong way, and anyway, a manual took up less room than a laptop. Raph wasn’t inclined to talk as much as, say, Michelangelo, and if Donnie got lost in a project, he could be silent for hours while he observed or made notes or whatever he was doing. Get them on the subject of the Triumph, though, and you couldn’t shut them up. Automotives not being her thing, April quickly cut in before they could start talking specifications or spark plugs or whatever went into making a motorcycle. “Think Splinter will start training me on the sword this winter?” “Nope,” Raphael said. She jerked, eyes going wide. “What do you know that I don’t?” Her lips pulled down into a tight scowl. “You don’t got the muscle mass.” He took a long swallow of beer, finished the bottle, and set it down behind him, fetching another one. Without looking at Raphael, Leo casually reached out a hand and yanked hard on his bandana tails. Raph’s head jerked. He spat out a, “Fuck, Leo!” and glared at his older brother. Leo shook his head warningly. “That’s between her and Father. Keep your beak out of it.” Mike said, “I think you could -” Leo interrupted. “You, too, Mikey. Father’s the Master. He decides who trains with what.” “Thank you,” April said. She brought her bottle to her lips and was surprised to find it empty. “These go too fast.” Donatello handed her another of his beers. Raph watched the exchange silently. He could be such a judgy bastard sometimes, even if he didn’t come out and say anything. April quite deliberately opened and drank half the bottle while he watched. She wasn’t some baby anymore, after all. Mike rolled his eyes at all the unnecessary drama. “I’m staying out of it,” he said, pointedly looking at Leo, “but I think you can tell Dad what you want to learn. You don’t know he’ll say ‘no’ unless you try, right?” “Mmm.” April shrugged. “I guess. Just, if we’re gonna be stuck inside all winter, I want to learn something interesting. I hate going into lock-down.” She banged her heels against the side of the building. “I feel like a rabbit hiding in a hole in the ground.” Raph reached behind Don to grab her pigtail, but he only gave a little yank, not a rough pull. “Yeah.” His version of rough sympathy. April rubbed her head, thinking about the long, dark months ahead. The collective mood was somber. The run had been fun, and the chase, but that couldn’t dispel the dark cloud hanging over the five of them. Mike snorted and unhooked a small cellular device from the back of his belt, muttering, “Screw it,” under his breath. He poked at the touch screen. Music came out, blasting at first. He had to quickly lower the volume while the others winced. “Hang on, hang on.” The quality was a little tinny, but it was perfectly danceable. Stevie Nicks’ hypnotic voice belted out the grainy beginings of April’s favorite song
Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night And wouldn’t you love to love her?
He set the phone on the edge of the ledge, climbing onto the roof proper and tugging on April’s pigtails lightly. “C’mon, Kitten. I don’t wanna waste the last long night out, y’know?” April grinned and gave Mike a playful shove. “Knock it off.” “No, really!” Mike looked over April’s shoulder and wagged his brow ridges. “Leo, tell April she has to dance with me!” Leo sipped his beer without looking at either of the little ones. “April, go dance with Mike.” His lips turned up at the corners. Rolling her eyes, April hopped over the ledge to join Mike. It wasn’t exactly a dancing song, but it was her favorite, and Michelangelo was as inclined to indulge her as Leo or Raph. Mike wrapped his right arm around her waist, taking her hand and giving her a quick spin before pulling her closer and taking the lead. Leo, Raph, and Donnie swiveled around to watch the two of them finding the rhythm.
She is like a cat in the dark And then she is the darkness She rules her life like a fine skylark And when the sky is starless…
April ignored the first icy breath of the wind against her cheeks and shut her eyes, pretending the whole world was watching, like she had a spotlight on her, and instead of tight-fitting, black-and-grey leggings and wrap-around shirt, she wore a long, flowing dress and fresh flowers in her hair.
Rhiannon...
The background singers repeated, and then were abruptly cut off by a high-pitched voice suddenly crooning, Ohhhh This is a story ‘bout a guy named Al, and he lived in the sewer with his hamster pal, and all of them were startled out of whatever reverie they were all in. Mike dropped April’s hand and rushed for the phone, picking it up just as the jingle died. His thumbs flew as he texted madly. Leo turned to Donnie. “Did you check in?” he asked a little anxiously. Donnie shook his head. “You were supposed to!” “I thought you were! You told him you would!” “I said we would! We, as in ‘any one of us!’” Between them, Raph looked disgusted. “You two’re hopeless.” Mike finished typing out his text and listened for the beep. “He says make sure we’re home on time.” “That’s a given,” Don said. “Anything else?” Leo asked. The phone beeped again. “Um. He wants a selfie of us,” Mike said. Don squished close to Raph on one side, Leo on the other. April climbed into Don’s lap and ducked her head a little so she wasn’t blocking either Raph or Donnie’s faces. Mike crouched between Raph and Leo and held his phone up sideways, preparing to take a picture. “Everybody smile!” He paused for a moment, then said, “Raph, c’mon, smile.” “I am smiling,” said Raphael. He did not smile. “Damn it, Raph, just smile!” Leo said, poking him in the side. In retaliation, Raph parted his lips in an epic grimace, displaying teeth in shark-like proportions. Mike snapped the picture and sent it before Leo could protest. “Damn it, Raph!” “That was a smile! I smiled!” The two of them went back and forth for a minute when the phone beeped again. Michelangel read the response, then groaned loudly, grabbing their attention. “Eh?” “Wha-?” Mike rubbed his eyes, a headache apparently setting in. He handed the phone to Leo, who read it, shut his eyes, and blew a loud sigh out his nose, before passing the phone over to Raph. Raph took the phone, read it, and screamed, “Sonovabitch!” Donnie snatched the phone away while Raphael advanced on his younger brother. He held it out for April to read it with him. The message was short and simple. “Next time, make sure the beer bottles are not in frame.” Her stomach sinking, she scrolled the text screen up. There, indeed, was the photograph, shot at an angle to get everyone in frame, two half-empty sixers included by Mike’s feet. “You couldn’t pay attention for two seconds?” Raph hollered at Mike. Mike rolled his eyes, but his mouth pulled down guiltily at the corners. “Gezuz, Mike!” “You guys didn’t move! You just squished in! Why weren’t you paying attention?” Leo said, “Maybe we should pack it in.” He looked regretfully at the untouched beer bottles. “Yeah,” April said, “head home early and avoid being beheaded at dawn. He can kill us immediately.” And then a flash of light. Everyone blinked, caught off-guard. “Was that lightning?” Mike asked. “That was not lightning,” Leo said. All heads turned to April. As baffled as they were, she pointed both hands at her right hip, where her camera remained undisturbed. Meaning, if it wasn’t her camera flash going off… A second flash alerted the group to the direction of the camera. They turned and looked. Two buildings down, there was a mild commotion. Of the camera man, all they could make out at this distance was a hunched figure that looked like it was wearing a mask. It stood up straight when they looked at it, cocked its head, and then apparently figured out they realized it was there, because it turned on its heels and took off at top speed, jumping from one roof to the next, more clumsily than they, but surprisingly fast. “Oh,” said Leo. “Shhhhhhhhit!”
Little red (part one..... maybe)
Raph was running along the roof tops of new york just getting ready for patrol as he usually does around sun down, the city was a little quiet And there wasnt much to do today maybe too quiet for raphs liking but soon the city would be alive again and in no time raph would have his hands full. but in the mean time he was just checking the back alleys and the busy streets before it began to get darker and darker as day changed to night, from the roof he looked down at a somewhat empty alley and was about to turn and leave before his mind processed what he just saw and he stopped in his tracks. He frantically looked back into the alley and saw a small blonde haired baby girl that was waddling down the alley and into traffic almost and his heart dropped as she got closer to the busy street, raph jumped from the roof and scooped up the kid running down the secluded part of the alley with her knowing she would scream or cry because she thought he was a monster but as he stopped he noticed she was quiet as a mouse. This was confusing to raphael as he put her down getting a good look at the kid "you arent mute, are you?" cause surely this kid saw him and knew he wasnt human, and as the little girl looked with her tiny blue eyes at raph she didn't look like she saw a monster she seemed like she saw a friend which made her smile as she reached to touch his face. Raph didnt stop her as she stroked his scaly face gently before touching his scar and frowning "owwie" she said standing on her tippy toes to get a better look at the scar on his lip, raph was baffled at how such a small human could look at him like that and could touch him so gently it wasnt until he heard people coming down the alley that he snapped out of his dazed state. He grabbed the little girl and climbed up to the roof looking back to see if they were looking for the little girl and When he was sure they werent he jumped from that roof to next, he didn't know what to do with her if no one was looking for her then where would she go and who would take care of her if no one would stand up and care for her then he would have to. the feel of her tiny hands on his face brought him out of his thoughts and back to the real world "turtle" she said with a cute smile that could melt any heart, raph took out his phone and called for donnie knowing he would at least know where to start with finding where this little girl came from and in the mean time he would just have to take her to the lair for her safety. when he got to the entrance to the lair he noticed a couple punk kids hanging out by it so he did the only thing he could think of at that time, he put the girl down hidding her behind a small tin garbage can and she whined but he hushed her not wanting the teens to hear them. he then snuck up near the kids then roared really loudly scaring the piss out of the group and causing them to Run away screaming, but after everything had died down he heard a tiny roar come from the little girl which startled him a bit making her laugh and giggle. a small smile spread across raphs face for only a moment before he tried to play it off and ignore the fact that this little girl had made him smile like that, He picked her up then jumped down into the sewer sliding down their water slide and she giggled and laughed the whole way there. once there he was greeted by mikey who stopped in his tracks once he saw what or rather who raph was holding "Hey raph, whats...." A wide grinned spread across his baby brothers face, Raph growled and shoved mikey out of the way so he could bolt straight for donnies lab hoping not to run into his older brother on the way but sadly he wasnt as lucky as he hoped, leo caught a glimspe of him and her just as he walked in to the door of donnies lab and raph could see a confused look grace his face. As raph stepped into the lab and looked around he noticed donnie wasn't here so he turned to leave but Leo blocked the doorway, his arms were crossed and his face looked stern though he tried to remain calm his tone became aggressive "raph what are you doing, who Is that?". as the leader spoke raph rolled his eyes already done with this conversation "this is a lost girl I found on the street she needs help getting back home" he said brushing past his brother and out of the lab, Leo followed him as he took the little girl to the kitchen and sat her at the table "and what you couldn't take her to the cops so they could handle it" leos tone was now biting as he spoke to his brother. "no I couldn't! I could not leave her there and let her just be forgotten or worse!" raph yelled "and if you don't like the way I help people then you can kiss my-" raph was interrupted by splinter "boys!", he said "That Is no way to handle an emergency, I have taught you better" said the old rat the two glared at eachother then Leo walked away "my son I hope you know what your doing" splinter said walking up to the little one who sat at the table looking up at raph with wide innocent sad eyes. "Hello little one" he said and she gave a small wave "we want to help you get back to your mama and papa, okay" she frowned pouting a little whining saying "no" she stood up in the chair and reached for raph giving the grabby hands like she wanted him to pick her up, raph sighed knowing it would be hard to let her go now that she was attached to him "come on kid, lets go see if we can find you some toys" said the brute as he picked her up. Splinter watched them as they left the kitchen "this is going to be a long next few days" he stated with a bit of a chuckle as he began to make some tea for himself and leo to help calm his nerve and bring down his anger, as raph walked into his bedroom he put the little girl on his bed and she gave a cute yawn "hey you sleepy kid?" she shook her head rubbing her eyes tiredly. Raph knew she was lying and that she in fact was sleep but was fighting it so he decided to grab one of his old teddy bears that he used to sleep with as a kid "here, hes not much but hes a good friend", the little girl looked curiously at the old ragged bear before she took it in her arms and hugged it close to her nearly falling over on the bed as she giggled holding it. Raph smiled at the heart warming site but then his smile turned to a sneer as mikey entered the room "hey big bro, whos the little princess?" He asked excitedly, raph crossed his arms "i dont know mikey, i found her on the street she was list so im helping her" he answered back "oh so can she talk?" mikey asked and raph shrugged "hey whats your name?" Mikey asked. The little girl looked at mikey then at raph as if asking what say in that moment of silence as the orange bandana turtle sat waiting for her answer "Sapphire" she squeaked out in a small mouse like voice, mikey smiled "aww, well hey little sapphire wanna play some games" she nodded but raph butted in "not until after her nap, i know your tired kid just take a little rest" he said and she frowned but laid down to nap. Mikey shrugged and turned leave the room but before he did he whispered "ill be waiting for you when your ready sapphire" she giggled and smiled before she squeezed the bear and snuggled into to bed, raph took a blanket he knitted and tucked her in leaning over her "alright kid ill stay just until you fall asleep but soon my brothers will need me" she reached up and stroked his face gently as her eyes became heavy and she started to drift off to sleep. Raph smiled as he felt her tiny hand on his face tracing every scar he had gained from training and fighting over the years and soon she fell asleep, he waited for a few moments watching her sleep not wanting to wake her as he snuck out the room and gave a sigh "well that was easy" he said "but its only going to get harder" leo added.
yesterday was a great, but sad day because it means the whole thing is over and we will probably never meet these people again
•i think meredith got lost at breakfast because she walked past our table and said hi even tho the rest of starkid were sat halfway across the room. or she really is just that nice and lovely.
•lauren looks so good today. this needed its own bullet point.
•jaime, denise, lauren and meredith did a q&a together where they talked about their periods. jaime said when she gets really bad cramps she gets a red crayon and scribbles her pain away. they also cast starkid in beauty and the beast. they said meredith or rachael would be belle, jaime would be mrs potts, lauren would be chip, dylan would be the beast, and denise would be that prince at the end post-transformation (it’s uncanny how much denise looks like the prince). they also cast all-female ninja turtles. i can’t remember exactly but i think jaime was mikey, lauren was donny, meredith was leo, they said rachael would be raph, jaime burns would be splinter and denise was april. they then taught us a dance to christina aguleria’s come on over. it was beautiful. i almost forgot, jaime dug herself into a real hole by talking about cannibalism. she said that it fascinated her and if anyone ever willingly offered her some if their skin she’d probably eat it. and she just kept talking trying to justify what she was saying. everyone stay away from her or she might eat you.
•brian, joey, nick and dylan did a q&a together where they mostly talked about movies they’d seen and either loved or hated. nick has apparently created his own versions of all dc films in his brain. dylan said that when he went to see coco with his girlfriend he cried so much that it formed a puddle on her head because she was leaning against him (he then demonstrated this with nick). joey has to pee at one point and ran across the room. brian made up this whole thing about joey pissing in the floor of the hotel. then lauren went to go pee as well and got dragged into it. joey then returned with water on his pants and was very adamant that it was water.
•their last panel was all of them together. the highlight of the panel was definitely meredith making nick so his impression of denise’s nasty dancing last night. there was full on twerking involved. people videoed it so if you haven’t seen it, watch it, it was the best thing i’ve ever seen. denise told a story about how when she was a kid she had a babysitter who would hold her up by her ankles and fling her around the room. she also said married people were boring and then looked at meredith and brian really apologetically and backtracked. make of that what you will. she also said something bad about scientology and then was like oh no i shouldn’t have said that.
•dylan facetimed darren during the talent competition!!!
•apparently dylan and denise abandoned the others when they got dinner so they decided to prank them by making them compete in the talent competition. dylan had to perform an interpretive dance to my heart will go on, which was being sung by denise. at one point during the song denise gave birth to dylan??
•for the closing ceremony they all gave a really emotional speech about how special these events are, and how despite everything that’s going on in the world right now they feel safe and happy, and how much they love all their fans. by the end like 30% of the room was crying. they all sang a little bit at the end of their speeches too! denise sang the theme song from her favourite childhood show and then jaime said “thank god for denise for making me look normal”
•then i had to leave so i missed the party with starkid and i can’t believe i missed them singing not alone! (i cried the entire 2 hour journey home)
...i think i got everything that i saw...
