(Spoilers for Dead Plate) Would you consider Dead Plate to be a yandere vn with that one ending where Vince makes Rody eat his ex?

Dead Plate is actually pretty fun because I actually quite like the type of gameplay of the diner dash genre, and it is impressive they were able to code this into RPG Maker of all things. Unfortunately, the gameplay is still pretty glitchy and majorly difficult to do in later levels because you need to hit a certain amount of quota to get certain endings, and the gameplay is rather difficult, so I had to search up some of the endings instead of completing the game like I usually do. To answer your question... kind of? It's one of those "it depends on your interpretation" kind of things (and probably the creator's twitter).

The story starts out with Rody who is hired to be a waiter at Vince's fancy restaurant after a lot of begging. We see that Rody is kind of a himbo and Vince is very straight laced. The majority of the story comes through the dialogue they have together. We learn that Rody is taking this temporary job to get a really fancy gift for his ex, Manon so that they can get back together again. Vince on the other hand seems to be a famous chef with a specific type of interest in food and is very serious about his job as a chef, to the point of intensity. We see in one of the scenes were Rody comes to take out the trash that he is yelling at one of the cooks for making a mistake, even putting their face over the oven fire to punish them. Similarly, when Rody accidentally knocks over the trash while taking ti out, Vince slaps him. At some point, Rody asks Vince if he can take some of the leftovers after each day, seeing as he doesn't really have much to eat. Vince allows him and each day, he is given a new dish that he leaves in the fridge. In one of the days, Rody interacts with a mouse, only to be served that to him as his leftovers. Rody also periodically gets very strange dreams about being eaten or otherwise prepared for food, often with Vince in them. During one of the days, after work, Rody ends up going into Vince's office, only to find a picture of him and Manon together in a bloody locket. He doesn't seem very happy about this, but proceeds as normal. Near the end of the week, Vince invites him to his house to serve a bunch of guests, which he does begrudgingly. Here we get to know how the other members of the guest know Vince. We also get to know that Rody considers Vince's food to taste not that great and that it in fact tastes "self absorbed", and we also learned that Rody dropped out of school at some point as well. After this, Rody ends up going into Vince's room and getting the fridge key but is promptly caught by Vince. Vince thanks him (sort of) for coming over and tending to his guest.

There are a couple of endings depending on certain criteria but we will go over them best we can.

The first ending happens when you are able to get enough money after doing all the shifts and quits the job from Vince telling him he no longer needs it. Rody, finally having enough money attempts to call Manon so that they can get dinner together, but the line is disconnected. He tries a couple of times, getting more desperate as he calls, even stating that he just wants to hear her voice, but no matter what, the call never connects.

The second ending happens when going into the freezer during the last day. Rody is caught and then promptly tied up by Vince. He is unable to escape, but Vince allows him to attempt to escape. He fails, no matter what and Vince kills him.

The third ending is probably the one that has the most information on the rest of the story, and is likely the most "cannon" ending for this game. It's similar to the second ending where he is tied up in the freezer, but this time he has brought matches to help him escape. He is able to escape the freezer, but finds a plate of meat on the counter. He is then promptly caught by Vince and has to avoid his attack. Missing this will cause Vince to kill Rody and drag him into the freezer. However, not missing will cause Vince to instead tear off Rody's ear and eat it, much to Rody's fear. We learn that the dish is actually Manon served up that Vince prepared specifically for him. We learn through Vince catching Rody a couple of times that Vince actually didn't care too much about his relationship with Manon, but rather the fact that Rody cared about her so much was what intrigued him. In fact, the reason why Vince ended up serving Rody Manon like this was because his critiques always talked about how his food was lack in love but due to Vince's lack of being able to taste, was never able to understand (this is foreshadowed when Rody calls his food bland and "self absorbed"). Because Rody constantly went on and on about Manon, he though that if he served him the thing he loved (Manon), that he would be able to make something that actually had that taste in "love" again (this is why Vince ends up serving the mouse he interacts with in one of the days, as he showed it "love"). Vince also reveals that this isn't something he normally does, as even the chef that he harassed earlier, he only fired and that he would never serve something like that to his customers, only seemingly doing this so he can revive his sense of "taste". Eventually, Rody ends up going into Vince's office and taking a broken bottle, stabbing Vince in the neck. He then ends up spreading oil all over the kitchen and promptly burning the entire building down, as Vince is still alive in it.

Finally, we get a flashback to when Rody and Manon broke up. It seems that Manon was mostly doing it because Rody would end up self sacrificing to provide for Manon, seeing as not only does he live in a shoddy apartment, but barely has enough money or interest in anything else but Manon. Manon seemed to have really loved Rody, but didn't want him to suffer by constantly catering to her, so she left him.

So now for the question of if I consider it a yandere vn, which is... it's hard to say? I don't think that this game was primarily made for a yandere to be one of the main characters (which is what I would more associate with a "yandere vn") but the two characters do exhibit some sort of yandere trait in one way or another.

Vince for instance has a very interesting take on love in terms of love in his food. You can for sure see him as just a person who is very obsessed over how his food taste, but it is also obvious that he has some sort of favoritism towards Rody, whether romantic in nature or not (it seems probably considering that Vince is gay), as all of the dishes that Rody takes home were made by Vince, and that he seems geuinely a bit sad when Rody quits on the first ending, as well as specifically making a dish made of Manon to serve to Rody. This seems to mostly be interpreted as a way for Vince to not only gain his sense of taste back but also to serve someone food with "love", but I can for sure see it as a way for him to make him shut up about Manon since he seems pretty annoyed when she's brought up. Still, he does end up killing him in like two of the endings, one where he is stuck bound up by rope in the freezer and one where he fails to defend himself. The second one can probably be chalked up to anger that Rody didn't eat the meal that Vince prepared him, but I'm not so sure about the other one. I guess it could be a way for him to eat his love like a lot of cannibal yanderes are like.

Rody himself is has a lot of the traits of light yanderes towards Manon, seeing that he basically seems to dedicate everything to her. Manon describes him as not ready for a relationship considering he keeps on trying to give up everything for her and calls his love exhausting, probably referring to how much he talks about her to Vince or to anyone. Even in his apartment, it's obvious that he doesn't really take good care of himself, with everything being very messy, with him burning his food and him sleeping on the couch. He doesn't seem very happy when seeing Manon and Vince together and seems to believe that money is the way that he can get back together with Manon, ignoring the actual reason, which is that when they are together, Rody ends up neglecting himself and just caring for Manon. On the twitter page, it's also confirmed that he would hide a body for Manon if that ever did happen.

Overall, very fun game. Love the aesthetic of the time incorporated into the game and the general character's attitudes. Whether or not Vince or even Rody is a yandere seems to be a pretty hotly debated topic amongst the fandom it's in, so I think it's for sure up to interpretation or until word of god says that they are.

My Love is Mine All Mine : 1 : New Job

"Wow you actually made it to the interview," a guys deep voice fills the room, he was the new boss for Rody who had been fired not that long ago. This was his 27-28 job now, he wasn't even sure anymore.

"Yeah I thought it be the best," Rody's hair was messy, his clothes were untidy and he didn't even tie his tie. From this, his boss was annoyed and continued on the interview.

"Well from your resumé, you know how to do your job which is good. Now I'm Vincent Charabonneau the owner of this bistro, i'm very strict on who I hired, so be greatful that I am giving you a chance to work here. Now remember take customer orders, get them to the chiefs, they'll cook it and Sever it back to the coustmers. Some coustmers well Expected faster service so they'll leave and might leave you with a dead plate," Vincent looks disgusted when talking about a dead plate.

"Thats good food gone to waste, but they still will have to pay for what they ate. So unless you have a person that has the same order as the dead plate, its gone to waste," Rody understood about 30% of what Vincent Just said but still looked like he got the memo.

"We're opening soon so be prepared, if you need me i'll be in the back," Vincent starts walking into the kitchen when Rody's voice stops him.

"Wait I have a question!" his hand Shot up in the air like he was im preschool.

"What is it?"

"So the coustmers don't exactly choose what they want, If I heard that right?"

"Thats correct our menu changes each day with a strict meal Choice, anymore questions?"

"Nope! I'm good now!" Rody smile brightly while Vincent rolled his eyes and walked away.

For Rody's frist day he did a great job not losing a coustmer and earn a great amount! Thought it was tiring to say the least, after the bistro closed up he biked home and changed into different clothes. His Apartment was messy when he got home..and thats the normal. His apartment messy as 4 of my cousins (no joke). Dishes haven't been done, toliled over flooded, music sheets everywhere, the stove look burnt ans Rody though back when he made cereal, he's not gonna do that again.

He picks up the phone like always and called her she didn't answer. He got bored and looks at his magazine, ended up getting bored after a while and slept on the couch.

Meanwhile Vince's mind was going crazy as he thought about today, this cheerful guy came to take the waiter job and he was good. But that smile was just in his head he couldn't sleep without thinking about his smile.

Vince ended up going to bed early. Rody's smile play in his head like a broken record player and when Vince fell asleep. A smile crawled up his face.

So I’ve learnt that my favorite character dynamic is a murderer of some kind and a person they torment relentlessly and they have a weird fucked up obsession/need for each other. Like for example a serial killer that leaves messages for a specific detective at crime scenes and a detective thats entire world revolves around catching this person, to the point that they’d have no purpose if they were caught.

I just realized I’ve turned Clyde and Roxanne, my spooky month ocs, into that, tho the obsession is more one sided and not that deep. They are not the first pair of ocs I’ve done this to.

Questions I have about Robocar Poli which I doubt anyone has the answer to, but then again it's a kids cartoon so obviously there's going to be things that are going to not make sense, but I still wonder about these questions just because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :

- How do the cars reproduce? There are children cars in this show (Mini, Rody and Benny), so there should be some way that they have children. Cars are manmade objects, so if a car couple want to have children, do they go to a car mechanic person and they're like "hey can you build a child for us 😃"? They don't have genitals.

- Why do accidents happen so frequently in Broomstown-? Do the rescue team members ever get tired of rescuing people?

- It's already pretty clear that normal cars are much more common than robocars, so how many robocars are there (yknow, the transforming cars, i think that's what they're called)? Is there a small amount of robocars in this world, and are they considered "rare"? Or are they more common then we think?

- How did the rescue team form? How did they came to be? Because if I'm being completely honest, I'd LOVE an episode that features the past lives/childhood of the rescue team members, and the story of how they came together and formed the team.

Chapter I

Humans thought supernaturals were a pure myth, passed down by generations. The elders usually spread the word, the children would just sit down and listen to the stories. As they grew older, they passed it down to their children and grandchildren.

But in the 21st century it was different.

In the year 2000, vampires and werewolfs were caught on cameras. People were payed highly well if they catch both species.

They were sold all over the world, weakened by the expirements that humans have done on them, were regularly tested every time they would lose their limbs.

However, the humans haven't found out by the sub ranks vampires and werewolfs had.

Vampires have ranks just like the werewolfs. The highest rank was Royal, the second Gifted and the third was just a regular vampire.

Vampires that are in Royal rank are very, very and very rare. They are much stronger and faster, they are gifted with a lot of gifts and wisdom. They are the heads of the clan/coven they created.

Gifted vampires are vampires that have gifts such as elemental control, Telekinesis, Empathy. Their strength and speed are equally the same as regular vampires.

Regular vampires are vampires who have been bitten by a careless newborn vampire. They're regular because they only have problems with their uncontrollable thirst and normal speed and strength, they are however still stronger and faster than human.

Werewolfs are separated into multiple ranks. Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma and Omega.

Alpha's are the highest rank. They are very protective of what's theirs and can be highly aggressive. Alphas have many things that differentiate them from the other types, ranging from physical characteristics, psychological attributes, and physiology. Among one of the common traits is the knot at the base of an alphas member. The knot is a bundle of muscles that expand when the Alpha is close to climaxing and is pushed into the Omega to lock themselves in to ensure the Omega catches it. Alpha's usually have a strong musky scent and sometimes smell of different spices. This scent can induce heats in Omega or arouse them. They are always on top during reproduction.

Betas are basically your everyday human with some exceptions. One is that they have a very weak scent, they have one but their glands do no produce it as heavily as Alphas or Omegas. They can't reproduce with Omegas, but they can reproduce with Alphas, although it's very hard to get a male Beta pregnant than a female Beta. Female Betas are the same as humans in our world, they have menstruations (periods) and can become pregnant. Their scent is also calming to Omegas and Alphas.

Deltas are samilar to Alphas but only psychologically, that is to say they're aggressive and territorial. But in the presence of Alphas, they are the second in command and are the right hand man/woman of Alphas. Their is usually one Delta in a pack. Their scent isn't as strong as Alphas but not as weak as the Betas. Their scents can induce heats in Omegas but can't induce ruts in Alphas. Their scent is a mix of smells you find in nature to musky smells like the Alpha.

Gammas are basically Betas with Omega characteristics. They, however, lack scent glands and knots, rendering them immune to Alphas, Gammas and Omegas scent. They also can't smell them unless they are given the information of an Omega in heat or Alpha in rut. However, they aren't similar to humans as they still have many characteristics similar to the Omegas. They are submissive to Betas, Deltas and Alphas, except Omegas. They, however, relate to Omegas as they have strong maternal instincts even if they are male or female.

Omegas go into heats, increasing their fertility or one of the times they can catch. Female Omegas anatomy is the same and nothing unique or special is needed during the birth process. Male Omegas are able to catch pups/offspring, they usually have a C-section or give birth naturally. One key point of Omegas is their heats, this is a time their sexual arousal is through the roof and their scent glands are most potent. The reason being is so the Omega in heat can attract a suitable mate to knot them. However, Omegas can function properly while in heat but they experience irritation, high sexual arousal, labored breathing, high body temperature and secretion of large amounts of slick.

Now onto other things to know about.

What is slick? Slick is a substance secreted by Omegas when in heat. It's a very sweet smelling fluid that is semi-translucent. When tasted, it's very sweet. Slick is basically a form of self-lubrication for Omegas.

What is marking? Marking is where an Alpha and Omeg bite at the juncture between the neck and shoulder. Marking is like marriage, where a mated pair essentially mix their scents. Basically think about how dogs pee in trees, cats rub up against you to get their scent on you and so on. Marking is a way for an Alpha to show what's theirs and to warn other Alphas from taking the Omega.

What is catching? Catching is a word for impregnation. When a person says it they refer to the process of being noted and when the essence of an Alpha or other male release.

What is heat? A heat is similar to a menstruation, but instead of pain and blood produced, slick is produced and an Omega is in a state of euphoria. All though Omegas can stand it, it is best the Omega remains close to an Alpha or indoors as an Omega in heat is very vulnerable and very susceptible to the smell of an Alpha, making it easy to take advantage of them.

What is rut? A rut is the Alphas version of heat, except the Alpha is highly aggressive and dominant during this. It is brought on when an Omega triggers it thorough their heat, however it can happen naturally. During this time the Alpha is highly aroused and will seek out an unmarked or unmarked Omega to have catch.

Additional facts:

Heats - heats as listed above only occur in Omegas. The intervals between a heat can be a month or a year. Heats are basically when an Omega is capable of catching and may be the only time for them to catch if they are male. What occurs inside the body is it produces a large amount of body heat as the body is in a state of arousal. Heats also trigger the slick glands to activate and overproduce, causing some of it to seep out of the anal cavity. During this time in male Omegas, the uterus is being formed, if an Omega is being mated a muscle opens the uterus within the Omega to allow the seed of an Alpha to catch. This is to ensure that the uterus doesn't intake waste disposed from the body. The time for heats very from a few days to two weeks. Depending on how often the heat is and certain genetic factors, the heat can vary in intensity and effects on others.

Scent glands - scent glands are located in the wrists and junctures of the neck between the shoulder. Scent glands are found on all A/B/O types. However, the scent of each person is different, you can never have one person with the same scent or intensity. Omegas have sweet scents, Betas are calming/natural scents, and Alphas have strong overpowering musky scents. Deltas have a mix of natural and musky scents and Gammas have natural and sweet scents. Of course, to detect these scents all A/B/O typed have a heightened smell as to detect these scents. Scents also are a way of expressing ones distress, anger, and or arousal. Fun fact; when an Omega is pregnant, their scent is stronger and has a sort of milky cream smell, giving away their pregnancy easily.

Claws - All hybrids have claws. These claws are easily seen when they are experiencing very volatile emotions. These emotions include blood spilling rage, heart wrenching sorrow and euphoria pleasure. Now then sharpness of claws varies between the types with Alphas having the sharpest and Omegas the dullest, but they can still tear through tree bark and clothing.

A/B/O Body types - Now regarding body types it varies widely from skinny, very masculine and curvy. But it also depends on the hybrids type as well. Alphas have more lanky and masculine frames/bodies, this due to their very high testosterone's level allowing high muscle mass. Of course, Alphas don't look like they are rodis of course so don't worry! Some even are skinny so you have that option too. Omegas have smaller and sometimes masculine frames, the reason is due to the low testosterone level they carry, but it is, of course, slightly higher in males than females. The reason for this is so the Omegas maternal instincts are not overruled by the effects that come with high testosterone. Betas, Gammas and Deltas are a tricky case as they can have all body types so I guess they are the lucky ones you could say that are in between this scale.

These will be constantly REPEATED through the book so make sure to read all of it! If you haven't understood you can always use Google and search there. Note: there are NO set rules in Omegaverse so the author can do whatever they want.

Okay, so the reason I haven’t written this yet is because I have no idea how it’s gonna go? Or, rather, I’ve got way too many ideas. Can’t settle on one. So, to avoid looking like a cop-out, I’m gonna write all those ideas down in a very disjointed, rambling fashion and call it kosher.

So, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m pretty sure Xig/Braig bites it at the end of the series. Not much chance for redemption there. So let’s look at if he lives.

Without someone to literally drag him into it, I can say redemption for him is… Not gonna be easy. I mean, he’s much more likely to just up and vanish after the keyblade war, staying as far away from Radiant Garden as he can. This is because of a number of things, but mainly because he’s terrified of the other apprentices, at this point. He’s worried they won’t forgive him for what he did, but far more afraid that they will. The general populace wouldn’t be a problem, I think, because they don’t know what was going on, but that would be a bitter-sweet thing. Good on good days, because he can live normally, bad on bad days, because- Well. He doesn’t exactly know why, he just knows that not being blamed, dancing around people who don’t know what he’s done, puts him on edge. He can scheme and plan and pull his strings, sure, but this? Feels wrong. And what if they find out?

So he probably ditches for a bit, unless someone keeps him there. Maybe he goes off to the Land of Dragons - he always liked that world - or something like that. Bonus points for the recent wars making his scars seem less conspicuous. Dunno what he’d do there, but, hey.

It’s not home.

I really like the thing/AU Aaron and I had going. The whole platonic Xigxi? That was probably the best route to redemption for him. I’ve said it once, I’ve said it again, the amount that Braig and Xion relied on each other post-series was ridiculous. They were pretty much inseparable, no secrets between those two or anything. And I mean no secrets. They sort of wound up being each others’ coping method, looking out for triggers, keeping undesirables at bay, helping with cool-down methods after anxiety/panic attacks, crashing on each others’ furniture for impromptu sleepovers ‘cause hey, sleep sucks and nightmares exist, so, hey, Xixi, wanna do shots of chamomile tea while I teach you a drinking game? The real reason Braig and Xi got on so well is ‘cause, simply put,  they understand each other. They both know what it’s like to be strung along, to lose your free will, to be a Vessel, to watch friends die and fall away and all that, they get it. And since the only other person in a position to ‘get it’ is the one who left Braig’s face permanently disfigured, Xion’s the only one he opens up to about a lot of this stuff. Because she gets it. He doesn’t wanna dump it on her, but, hell if he’s gonna share with the uninitiated. More than that, she took Braig on as her apprentice (which he found kind of grimly amusing, for a number of reasons to be discussed elsewhere), which is good in a number of ways. It gives him something to distract himself with, something to exhaust himself physically and push himself towards on days he needs it, and something to keep his interest for a mental distraction (not many things can), goals to work towards, and that’s really important to him. It also puts him in a place where he’s surrounded by people who could potentially be protection from Xehanort (given that the wielders, at this point, presumably whooped him for good), but also from himself, since he trusts himself and his ability to resist Darkness as much as he trusts the Old Coot himself. If he’s among the keyslingers, he won;t be able to hurt anyone else. At least, not majorly. Living in the tower helps, too, because the routines are pretty regular, but it’s not the Gardens, which, again, helps. It also gives him a way to atone without feeling like he’s… Patronising the universe, if that makes sense? Not just pretending that going back to who he was will just wipe away the things he did. It’s a more tangible step in the right direction, I suppose. So, this is probably the most likely scenario for full ‘redemption’. (Also, probably one of my favourite post-series verses).

I was also joking with Rodi that, in our Zelbraig verse, it’d be hilarious in a twisted way for everyone to be freaking out all WHERE’S BRAIG WE HAVE TO RESCUE HIM and he’s chilling poolside with a tumbler of whisky at his boyfriend/fiance/husband’s mansion. Not so much ‘redemption’ in that verse, but definitely ‘trying to live a normal life’. Emphasis on trying. Those two boys are both disaster magnets, so it doesn’t work, but, he tries.

(In fact, any significant other is a help.)

I also had one thread, way back when (I suppose they’re all ‘way back when’ now) where Braig actually… Managed a civil conversation with Terra? It wasn’t friendly, you know, tense, eggshells trodden upon, but it was civil. No insults, not at each other’s throats. Just, ‘oh, you’re in Radiant Garden.’ ‘Yeah, so are you.’ ‘…. Cool.’ And if you’d told him he’d be chatting with Pebbles even a month before, he’d think you’re off your rocker. But, I think that was a huge sign of his healing, being able to see Terra as someone in a similar position to him. Manipulated, Vessel’d, cast aside, etc. Don’t think they’d ever be friends (not when his reflection looks as it does), but, grudging acceptance was definitely a step up. 

Beyond that? REALLY depends on how everyone else reacts. A lot of his decisions and actions are gonna be based on that - Especially the other apprentices. He could care less about what, say, Sora and Lea think of him, but, the others? Guards bros, especially? That’s a make-or-break deal. 

I ALSO have an idea where his Redemption comes RIGHT AT THE MOMENT THE WAR STARTS, when all his planning comes to a head and things for the Seekers just fall out from beneath their feet. And Xehanort just executes him for his treason. And probably nobody ever knows what he did. (We could go either way with this: He stays dead, or, maybe a few months later, someone accidentally happens to kill his Heartless and all of a sudden there’s an unconscious Braig on the floor in the Castle’s lab and nobody knows what the hell to do and there may be slight panic.)

And, of course, there’s also the bit with Lux, where Braig finds redemption in taking care of this poor orphaned kid. The tiniest nephew you ever did see. 

I also love the idea of ‘he nearly heals and then everything goes horribly wrong and it keeps getting worse’, because you’re not allowed to be happy in Kingdom Hearts.

things that are therapeutic/relaxing for Braig!

Oh gosh, there are a few of them, so I’m just gonna do it in a list, with no particular order:

Writing in his journal. It helps him keep his thoughts organised, helps him visualise things, gives him something to do, allows him to look back on memories, is a great distraction, and generally just really soothing. It’s a comfort he’s had since he was thirteen years old. On top of that, his journal was the only birthday gift he ever got (by tradition), and came from Obi-dad, so it has a lot of sentimental value. On top of that, it has little notes from dad, and, verse-depending, different friends, family members, and even his significant other, if he has one.

Pressing flowers. This one is a bit different, since a lot of the time, pressed flowers just lie under books being squashed, but he likes it, all the same. Something about aligning the flowers to look just right, to finish the bookmarks and write out his little facts, it’s, again, a nice distraction from what he has to put up with. If he’s making it for himself, then, it’s nice to know that his journal will be better organised, and if he’s making it for someone else, then he’s looking forward to giving it to them and seeing their reaction.

Gardens and flowers in general. He doesn’t do a lot of gardening, himself, but he loves gardens. His favourites are, of course, the ones in the Temple, but he also likes going to the parks in the Senate district when the flowers are due to bloom. Temple gardens aren’t seasonal, are kept at a controlled climate, which makes sense, but means that they don’t have blooming season, so he has to look elsewhere for that. He’s always liked flowers, liked the way they look and smell and the textures of the different petals and leaves. I also think it has something to do with the way plant life feels in the Force - it’s fresh, clean, natural, and overall a refreshing, rejuvenating feeling. Feeling them bloom is like feeling the Force renew itself, but sitting in a garden that’s already in bloom is more of a constant, steady feeling. Both are nice.

Getting his hair brushed/played with/braided. I’ve mentioned before that papa Obi sometimes brushes Braig’s hair for him, and he braids it, too. This is top-notch Braiggo care. He has to be very, very comfortable with a person to allow them to do this, so it’s pretty much limited to the parentals (Rodi’s Obi, obviously, and verse depending, Liz’s Cody, Mars and Sam’s Shaaks, and Red’s Satine), Sam’s Grandma Yaddle, and the SO’s (Adrian’s Boba and Heidi’s Ahsoka). There might be a few others, but it’s a very, very select few people, overall. Still, he very much likes to be fussed over like this, and it’s probably the closest to pampered he ever gets. It’s self-indulgent as hell, but he enjoys it, and the little chats he can have while it happens.

Meditating. This one should be self-explanatory. He likes meditating alone, because the Force is a lot quieter like that, and it’s easier to think and feels safer to let emotions out. He prefers it to meditating in a group. Sometimes, though, he’ll be fine with meditating with, say, his mentor, or a small group of close friends, but, yes. He usually prefers meditating alone.

Back rubs. According to Adrian, once they’re dating, Bo gives Braig massages after long days of training, or long days in general. This is obviously a verse/timeline/etc-specific thing, but it helps him unwind and feel less achey.

Going on walks. Whether it’s around the Temple halls, or around the Senate district of Galactic city, going on walks is a usual method of stress-relief for him. He usually does this if he’s restless, but not in the right state of mind for sparring, and doesn’t feel like he could concentrate enough for kata/forms practise, meditation, or anything like that. More often than not, he goes around the Temple, but if he needs to get away for a bit, or he needs to steel his resolve re: the war, he goes out. Seeing the citizens of Coruscant happy, free, and at least relatively safe reminds him exactly what they’re fighting for, and has helped steady his resolve a number of times. He has a number of usual stops to visit when he goes out, including the parks and gardens, a tea shop run by an older Rodian woman (the same shop Obi’s been taking him to since he was little), and a little stationary shop. It’s hard to find things like actual pens, these days, but, if it’s a luxury, it’ll be in the Senate District.

Sparring. Sometimes, he really just needs to hit something, or get hit. Usually, after bad missions, or just bad days, before he loses his energy, before the frustration and anger melts down into something heavy and cold and suffocating, you’ll find him sparring with anyone he can grab - he prefers his Gathering group friends, especially Hano and the twins, since he knows he can get a challenge, and come away with at least a few bruises. When he’s in this kind of mood, he wants to be hit. He wants to get hurt, because so many people died, and he came home. So many people lost everything, and he’s safe. It doesn’t feel right to him, doesn’t feel fair, so he tries to take a beating to ease some of the survivor’s guilt/general awful feeling that comes after a battle. It’s also for this reason that, when he’s in this kind of mood, he prefers not to spar with a master. On normal days, he’d be all for it, think it’s some kind of learning experience, etc, etc, but, like that? He knows that, even if he’s pushing himself, even if he asks them to push him, they’ll still pull their punches and go easy on him. After all, when all’s said and done, he’s still just fifteen. But, as I said, he doesn’t want to be treated gently, he wants to get the daylights kicked out of him. This is another reason it’s good he tends to go to his friends for this - They’re all roughly the same age, and they’ve all been training for about the same amount of time, so, they’ll spar each other as equals, but they also know each other well enough to know when to say ‘alright, that’s enough, time for a break’, and to listen when the other person calls it quits. 

Exercise in General. If he needs to blow off steam or just pent-up energy without sparring, or just isn’t in the mood for a beating but is very hyped up, you can often catch him going for runs. He’ll also try to do ‘speed runs’ of forms, go through drills, or even get into friendly push-up or [insert exercise here] competitions with other padawans, just for the heck of it. 

Showers. Well, sonics, usually. Coming back from a mission covered in sweat, dust, dirt, blood, ash, grease, oil, and god only knows what else is never a good feeling, so getting cleaned off really helps him. If he can get a shower with water, especially warm water, that helps even more, but- He’ll take a sonic. He just wants to be clean. 

Lullabies. Another part of Rodi and my canon is that Obidad used to sing to Braig when he was a baby, and might still do it from time to time when Braig’s older. If anything helps calm and quiet racing thoughts and dispel lingering nightmares, it’s this. It helps him breathe. 

Fixing his lightsabers. You can often find him doing this, though most times, it’s just a hobby, something he enjoys doing, but after a nightmare, he’ll do it almost feverishly, taking them apart and re-assembling them, pouring over his notes and blueprints in his journal to see if any fixes need to be made or he’s gotten any alterations to be added. It keeps his hands busy, and gives him something he has to focus on, to distract him from whatever woke him up. It also helps him feel as though the next mission will be better; his sabers are better, he’ll be able to fight longer, protect more people, and so on. Things will be better.

Tea. Whether it’s brewing it, drinking it, or learning about etiquette and tea ceremonies from Obi-dad, tea is a pretty big part of his life. He really likes the little tea times he gets with his mentor. He’s also very good at brewing anti-anxiety tea, and muscle-relaxants/painkillers, from experience. 

Having someone he cares about around. As much as he likes having some peace and quiet, he needs people. Isolation doesn’t suit him. Especially when he’s panicky or anxious - having someone he’s comfortable with, someone he loves, there with him, helps a lot. Especially having someone sleep with him - not in a sexual way, just literally snoozing there beside him. Having someone with him when he’s anxious or otherwise upset helps him calm down, and when he’s asleep, his subconscious can latch on to the familiar Force signature, and it also gives him something physical to hold on to, which helps with keeping himself grounded, making nightmares less frequent, and helping him to come down when they do get bad. Again, though, he’s gotta be really comfortable with you to lower his guard that much.

Cooking. This is something that only comes into play post-66 (in the canon timeline), but, just as he found a distraction in fixing his sabers when it was safe to be a Jedi, he finds joy in cooking when it’s not. It also makes him feel like less of a burden to the people he’s staying with.

Holding on to Obi’s sleeve when missions get rough. He does this instead of holding dad’s hand, since his hand is usually full of lightsaber. (Though this is also a habit that goes back to when he was very little, and he couldn’t hold Obi’s hands because Obi was carrying him around).

Braided textures. I’ve explained this before.

Stargazing. He just likes looking out at the stars, seeing all the planets - though, sometimes, this can stress him out more, because, look at all the people you have to protect, look at all the people who need you, etc, etc. But, most times, he likes them because they’re pretty, and, again, ties in to good memories with Space Dad.

Welcome and Benvenuti to all my Lovely Followers around the world,

To be honest, when the month of June arrived I felt a little deflated.  As many of you know it is my birthday month and I normally celebrate with a live Rock Chick Band concert in my garden.  But, for obvious reasons, we had to cancel.  Then I had an inspiration!  Downstairs we have a guest apartment which is only used occasionally and always when we have concert guests.  One room houses our old upright piano and nothing else but a tapa cloth hung on the wall, which we bought back from Fiji in 1984.  I know, the tapa cloth is just incidental, but it’s rather beautiful.  Anyway, what I was about to say was, I decided to make better use of the room and turn it into a sound studio!  Yes!  But I need all the right equipment microphone and speakers etc.  So I decided to spoil myself and thank you to our good friend John for his advice, I have ordered a PA System, a PreSonus PX-1 Large Diaphragm Microphone and a TC HeliconVoice Tone C1 Hardtune and Correction Vocal Processor.  Unless you are a musician, you will now be as confused as I am.  I am just a singer who is struggling to learn the guitar.  I have always left the technical side to the guys in the band and turn up when Stefano shouts ‘June, soundcheck!”  So now I am really excited, this wretched virus may have opened a whole new world to me, the real confusion will start when all the equipment arrives in about ten days time!  But I will have the help of my ‘long-haired lover from Bristol’  which is the name I have given my man who is looking like a long-haired rodie  from the seventies!

OK, so what next?  Oh yes, so what has been happening in Tuscany this last week?  I hear you ask.  Well, the borders are now all open and it is a huge relief for those in the tourist industry.  Second homes owned by northern Europeans, who will be driving across the border at this moment, will soon be occupied.  It also brings with it a certain amount of risk as the virus here is by no means over.  But, at the end of the day, we must continue to be vigilant and the rules are still mask wearing and distancing, which the Italians have mostly supported without argument.  But how I long to see everyone hugging and kissing again, it’s been especially hard in Italy as Italians are a naturally demonstrative and warm.  We currently greet old friends by tapping elbows together or blowing kisses through our masks!  Hey ho.

But you would never believe that there has been a lock-down in our little bit of countryside on the edge of Chianti.  Everything looks the same, from the land changing with the seasons to the wild life finding mates and reproducing.  The male toads in our pond have been incredibly noisy over the last few days and fascinating to hear, even if we can’t manage to spot one!  The number of birds in our garden, which has lots of mixed trees like our ancient Oak, has been incredible this year.  Just about every european species imaginable.  Bee Eaters have been gathering on top of the bare branches of an Acacia tree, woodpeckers, a pair of Jays, masses of tits, finches and redstarts.  Wood pigeons and Doves, I could go on but I am not an expert and could get some names wrong!  So we sit under our sun brolly every evening, with a nice aperitivo, to watch and listen.  Needless to say, it’s an absolute joy living here.

Now, I hope to venture out a little further next week.  I have so far stayed close to home and getting supplies from our local village of Fiano, where la Dispensa (translates to The Larder) has been fantastic support to the village for groceries.  Now the coffee bar has reopened too, but with the usual restrictions.  So I am going over to Tavernelle and the Co-op to get a few things we can’t get locally, but if there is a queue I won’t hang around, I’m not starting that lark!  Oh no.

Meanwhile, my man who miraculously ‘mostly’ enjoys my cooking at home, has agreed to go to the restaurant twice a week.  Now for some reason, during the last couple of weeks I have gone brain dead over cooking and have found it an absolute chore.  But I seem to have taken the pressure off myself by reading and writing again!  Yes, ‘Assassin’s List’ my fourth novel is flowing like a bubbling brook as my heroine Joanna Wilde goes off on another exiting covert mission!

So I guess I can honestly say, life in Tuscany is once again very good, not that it has ever been bad!  I will keep you posted on the progress with my Sound Studio and my writing.  And, don’t forget, I love to hear from my readers so do drop me a line.
