Li Xin:

Mei dragon:

Just like I wrote on his sheet, she's Li's childhood bestie and are super close, for Li she's seen as a possible love interest too! Problem is that he's too scared to say anything and doesn't wanna ruin the long friendship they share so he loves her in silence :')

MK:

Just like the rest, Li only knows him through Mei. At first, Li was doubting him and judging him in all ways, didn't really like him at first because he thought he was the only best friend Mei had lmao he was kind of jealous tbh.

But around season 3 Li sees MK as an close friend too! The moment MK had to start figuring things on his own, that is when Li was able to relate to him a lot. He would often try to mentally support him and just be there for him as much as he needed. He adores the way he is and also apologizes to him for his behavior and now he's extra caring for him. uvu

Monkey King/Sun Wukong:

Nope. Not even a bit. For Li monkey King is a burden. He gets to learn about him throughout the season 2, 3 and 4 and he is not very convinced by him. He often try to avoid talking to him and be annoyed with his presence alone. He only sees the bad traits instead of the good ones. In the end of season 4 he does get to learn more about him, but stays natural towards him. So he doesn't really see him as friend.

Tang:

For Li he's sorta a mutual than a close friend. He doesn't bond with him much but they had their moments too. Li gets to see his troubles too and notices his lack of confidence. He often try to tell him the opposite though. By now you'd know that Li is sort of the therapy friend of the bunch.

Pigsy:

Just like Tang a mutual. he would often take advice from him when it comes to cooking because Li had to microwave his food most of the time because he is a student. He'd love to learn how to cook proper meals for his health and regrets never learning it from his parents. Pigsy gladly teaches him as well. Li also learns quickly and he's thankful he's here too.

Sandy:

Li sees him as a close mutual. At first he was quite suspicious of him because he never saw so much kindness before. Almost made him believe that guy is not what he seems to be. He actually had a lot of doubts in everyone but slowly he warmed up to him too and saw a genuine kind individual. Since he received pain and suffering most of the time he often got fooled by people who pretended to be kind. He's glad Sandy is not that person and never will be. He appreciates his presence too.

Red son:

He doesn't wanna admit it but pretty sure he's part of them too! When first met in S3 Li gets super suspicious of him too. Especially after hearing about what he did in the past with the others he quickly becomes protective and alert of his friends safety. Soldier instinct he has. He didn't really like him at first and was neutral about him until in the special episode: embrace your destiny, he sees him as ally once seeing how much he helped. Especially Mei since Li gets super anxious and even more protective once he saw Mei struggling with the fire of Samadhi.

2. Note: As for everyone else he was able to meet throughout the adventures with MK and the others, he'd stay natural and takes time to warm up to anyone that is seen as ally, and he will be protective and shielding against the enemies.

Shen Xiaotian:

Let's say that his relationship with MK and the others is a mix of hatred and adoration. He pities MK but at the same time he can't help but feel pleasure when watching him suffer because he thinks he deserves it. Shen sees him as a corny hero but at the same time Shen wishes he was that type. For the rest he isn't very impressed by them but more annoyed. Especially with Li because for some reason Li caught his attention shortly. There is not much to say about Shen and his relationship with Mk and the others since he freshly appears in season 4.

As for Monkey King, he's a different case. Shen first met him when he caught him stealing peaches of immortality. Back then Shen was a passionate celestial warrior so he'd definitely try to catch that monkey. For sure he failed. He was a nuisance to him and still is. Yet he does adores the way of his rebellious acts. But Shen is even more unhinged than Monkey King so when he finds out how "weak" be became he instantly gets disgusted by him.

Yeah, I have thought of redesigning MLB characters. I actually have an old sketch for a Ladybug redesign, though I have a different idea now of how I would design it than back then.

And ooh, both ideas sound pretty cool! MLB would probably be easy design wise— at least talking civilian forms since we have a lot of canon designs with similar outfits to go off, I'd say. So, to have the designs count as canon accurate to the art style would be easy. I think the hero outfits would definitely be a lot different, considering that LMK has bulkier designs and uses a lot more armor than MLB. It makes sense due to the fact that MLB is a magical girl adjacent show. Those don't ever use much armor and have slimmer designs besides from ruffles and bows mainly, MLB hero forms are latex aside from some additional accessories and padding on the boy's designs.

For LB, her main weapon would still be her yo-yo and would fall into the same mythical weapons like the Monkey staff, the wind fan, and the lantern Mac used in LMK. Lore wise, maybe the yo-yo could be something Nüwa made—since she's sorta a creator god— I think—and was stolen accidentally by Tikki or at least given to her from Nüwa. CN, however, since his main ability cataclysm doesn't connect to his main weapon, I would replace his baton with big bulky gauntlets. To sorta not make another really strong staff like weapon. They would have the same effect as his in show cataclysm does.

In the case of LMK, if they were in MLB, it's both easy and difficult. The roles are the easy bit. MK would very obviously take the monkey kwami, Mei the dragon, and Red Son the bull. MK would stumble across his kwami in a similar way he does with the staff and LB and CN do in their shop. Him only found out later that SWK, the past holder, had been the one to place it to be found. Mei and Red Son would have had it past down generational. I picture Tang as the guardian that takes care of the kwamis, which would make a link to Tripitaka since he was the guardian in swk's time but wasn't able to pass it down. Tripitaka would've given Swk his miraculous. The rest becomes a bit more complicated. Considering none of the main have the Ladybug or Cat miraculous, it makes it hard to accomplish evil in a similar set up to MLB considering they wouldn't be able to get rid of akumas. At least the more known way. LBD makes the most sense to have as hawkmoth, meaning the mayor could be the peacock holder. Maybe originally, Mac has the fox miraculous, but to mirror when LBD gives him a power up in s3; he could take hold of the peacock miraculous. Who knows!

This was very nice to brainstorm, but I fear if I think about this anymore.. I'll have another au to add to the list :')

Just binged season 1 of Pacific Rim: The Black. Spoilers within.

I really quite liked it. The first season is very much scaled back compared to the films in regards to danger (the main threat is a single, recurring Kaiju rather than the films’ larger battles against multiple opponents) but that actually works well to show that the main pilot pair of teens Taylor (older brother) and Hayley (younger sister) are very new to this. They’re actually the children of fully-fledged pilots, and their driving force is seeking out their parents (who disappeared five years before the series’ present).

They’re later joined by a third pilot, Mei, who’s a 19-year-old scavenger with a dark past. With the nature of ‘drifting’, all three pilots are aware of each others’ backstories and emotional baggage. It allows them to be more open with each other... just a little.

Generally, Mei serves as the more world-weary protagonist, and as a bridge to introduce the secondary human antagonists: the nomadic prospector/crime gang... Bogan.

Said organisation serves as the first set of characters with anything approaching an Australian accent, despite that being where the series is based - the premise being that the continent stands abandoned after multiple breaches decimated any Jaeger defences, and the Kaiju now roam the land. (The rest of the world’s Jaegers have left for parts unknown.)

Generally the characters bounce off each other quite well: Taylor is mostly stoic (to the point where he’s clearly just choosing not to deal with a lot of stuff) but still makes the effort for Hayley’s sake.

Hayley, on the other hand, is far more empathic - she becomes the primary emotional caretaker of Boy, a mute child they find in a lab while searching for a replacement power source for the Jaeger (Atlas Destroyer) that they unearth in the first episode. [Keep in mind that Hayley is fourteen, yet still repeatedly shields Boy with her own body when threatened by armed opponents]. Hayley, too, seems to repress the emotions revolving around her family at times.

Mei takes longer to warm up to the others, but and realistically relapses while doing so - retreating back into her colder mindset when various levels of trigger hit for her. Her backstory is a bit rushed, and doled out in basically one breath of exposition by a doomed satellite character, but enough is revealed about her connection to Bogan’s unpleasant leader, Shane, that you want to know more.

The myth arc of the series gets into full swing in the final two episodes, with the stinger basically spelling out what the next season is going to revolve around. Again, it interested me enough that I’m looking forward to it.

Far and away my favourite part of The Black, though, is Loa. She’s the AI for Atlas Destroyer, and she’s hilariously sarcastic. There’s one line in episode 7, delivered so perfectly, that I burst out laughing. I’m quite happy to get more Loa in episode 8 and beyond. She’s got her storyline going in the background, but not as much has been revealed about it just yet.

Romance-wise, there’s little going just yet - realistically so given that the main two characters are siblings, and because there’s far more important matters to deal with in just seven episodes.

We do know that Taylor is attracted to women, so he and Mei might get pushed together (despite Hayley actually making more of an effort to get to know her as a friend), but I honestly don’t know just exactly how old Taylor is supposed to be, except somewhere within a handful of years older than Hayley.

Hayley might be also into women, given how hard she took the death of her best friend (or more?) Rosa, in episode 1, but it was left ambiguous. She wouldn’t end up with Mei regardless, being 14 and 19 respectively, so little romance going there either.

I would say it’s definitely worth a watch. The animation’s generally good (sorta crosses between The Dragon Prince and Knights of Sidonia), and there’s lots of threads created for later episodes to follow. Refeshingly little, if any, in the way of fanservice, too.

Go watch it if you’ve got a couple of hours free one afternoon. You should find at least one thing to like.

Flo was a experimental creation by LBD in an attempt to create 'a loyal servant' before LBD was trapped in that box thing. But something screwed up and Flo ended up getting freedom and a big case of amnesia (doesnt remember LBD).

Flo no longer lived anywhere but china.

Instead of being just an axolotl demon, Flo is an axolotl dragon hybrid demon.

Flo still has water magic and is a mess with it, he also still lost an arm but it was probably due to being a fool. The arm is replaced with a water one.

Due to still being LBDs creation, she can control them, not too much but still control. (But yes when possessed!SWK in S3 happens Flo gets more control over themself, but we'll get there when we get there)

This is when Flo first meets everyone.

In the intro episode:

Flo meets everyone while theyre trying to train with their magic and accidentally does a water warp straight into Mk while Mk was training with SWK /also Kito being there/.

Flo introduces himself and Mk is like

"WOAHHHH WATER POWERS?! THATS SO COOL!"

And offers to introduce Flo to all his other friends :D

Main character arc during the season:

Becoming everyones friend ig? And just, learning that others wont hate you for being a screw up with ya magic?

A character focused S1 episode but with Flo (that isnt the intro episode) would probably be about:

Flo working with Mk, Mei, /and Kito/ to finally master his water warp ability!

OKI SO remember when I said LBD has some control over Flo? Haha yeah, LBD basically kidnaps Flo in ep 1 of the season so that she could force Flo to 'help' Macaque hunt down Mk and the gang.

There are some times when during some kind of confrontation with the gang, Flo manages to push back LBD for a bit and yells at the gang to run away because he really doesnt wanna hurt them.

Also, when LBD has total control of Flo, hes not a fool with his magic and instead is a master of his magic.

Main character arc during the season: UH WELL he sorta mind controlled for the season so uh Ig, getting his freedom back?

Finale:

O boi

Oki so, with possessed!Wukong going on and taking more power, LBD has less control over Flo, but just barely enough to keep them doing what she wants.

Mk /and Kito/ use this to their benefit and go and attempt to get Flo back.

Flo immediately jumps to fight upon seeing the two, Kito is the main one that fights back while Mk tries to figure out how to kick out LBD for good.

After realising what might work, Mk yells for /Kito/ to retreat, Mk runs towards Flo with no fear and hugs him.

Flo doesnt respond, instead freezing up. And then uh, this bits a little cheesy but its cute, Mk (who also had a crush on Flo) gently kisses Flo on the cheek and reassures him that no matter what he loves him.

And that certainly breaks Flo free from LBDs control.

random ow au idea: they’re all unusual/supernatural beings who are trying to keep what they are secret from everyone else, but they’re all like... living in the same building at university. so it doesn’t really work.

hanzo and genji are dragon-summoning yakuza ninjas (so no change there) who maybe sorta kinda took their inheritances and ran for it. their family isn’t pleased. they’re trying to hide it but they are absolutely terrible at it - they keep climbing through windows when late, genji insists on using his training to show off, at some point they’re bickering and genji throws a fucking knife at hanzo and hanzo catches it without looking and EVERYONE FREAKS OUT.

lucio is a siren who can take a human form, except his human legs don’t exactly hold him up very well. he hates using his song because he doesn’t like taking peoples’ agency away, but he’ll do it if he has to. and he’s an amazing singer even without the song itself. 

mercy is descended from angels and hit the genetic jackpot. healing powers, summonable wings, all that jazz. it’s pretty awesome.

reaper is a vampire. everyone thinks he’s just really really goth and that’s why he takes a thick umbrella and a hoodie with him everywhere. 

mccree was blessed as a child with incredible luck and eagles’ eyes. never gamble with him. (at some point he and hanzo get into a poker game and it gets very ugly.)

pharah and ana are griffin tamers. pharah is literally trying to hide a griffin on campus. it’s not going well. please pray for her.

tracer’s a time traveller from several hundred years into the future. everything about this time period confuses her. winston is her “mission control” who is operating from a hidden location on campus. they’re investigating a series of strange events that occurred at this point in history.

sombra is a technopath. she gleefully abuses this power. no one can figure out how she pulls off half the things she does.

widowmaker is a drow who’s ended up in the sunny world to investigate humans. she pretends that she has a skin condition making her look blueish-grey. more than a few of her dormmates WANT to call bullshit but don’t dare. people stay out of her room because she has a lot of pet spiders.

d.va is a ghost that got fused with an advanced ai program, creating a being who can totally fake being human, but who can also possess technology, go through walls, etc. she has decided to use these powers to become the greatest starcraft player ever known.

junkrat is part fire elemental. this is not a good thing. it’s actually pretty terrifying. he sets his hair on fire just because he can. on the flip side, he can’t swim.

roadhog is a merman who, like a siren, can pretend to be human (albeit with more success on the legs and less success on the lungs). he’s been known to threaten to bite people, and with those teeth, it’s a major threat.

zenyatta in this au is human, except he’s also a very powerful psychic who has spent his life controlling and understanding this power. he’s very good at spotting when someone is troubled, but never really pokes further unless they approach him. (he also knows from like. minute one that most of the others aren’t human.)

torbjorn is literally a dwarf; like widowmaker, he’s from another world, and has just ended up in ours by chance. he’s okay with it though.

76 i’m having trouble on, but i can see him as some kind of blind seer who always knows more than he lets on. it’s very annoying for him. visions suck.

symmetra is a magician. she generally sticks to creation and conjuring, but if you piss her off she will totally curse you. (except her curses don’t always work how they should on non-human or otherwise supernatural entities...)

reinhardt is the descendant of a holy knight who had magical armour. reinhardt has inherited this armour, among other things.

mei is an ice spirit. she keeps accidentally freezing things and trying to hide it. she’s trying to become a climatologist because as an ice spirit she really really hates how the planet is getting warmer.

zarya was hit with a spell as a baby which gives her the strength of ten men. she’s nonsense strong. she keeps breaking things. please help her.

bastion is an escaped military “drone soldier”. they’re now hiding near campus with ganymede. no one knows they’re there. except d.va, who sensed them early on.
