winning is my trademark!! ˎˊ˗
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
──────── aka your 'strategy' to getting with enhypen boys || fluff, headcanons, ft: all members
a/n: had this idea rattling around in my brain recently since I've been listening to stragey by twice a lot (meghan thee stallion i would die for you) and i thought it was really cute to write !! so i hope you guys think the same <333
Tumblr media
✶⋆.˚ lee heeseung : praise him
Heeseung is a pretty reserved guy - but especially when he's around someone he likes
He'll get so shy that he's hyper-aware of showing off because he doesn't want to come off as cocky!
Even normally, his talents go unacknowledged so whenever you get the choice be sure to point them out and compliment him!
"Heeseung, your singing voice is so nice, could I hear it again?"
"Wow, you're pretty much good at everything, huh?"
Do it in a way that shows that not only do you notice him, but you're also impressed by him
At first, it might fluster him because he isn't used to such straightforward praises but if you let him know you find it cool he'll definitely show off a little
And who knows, if you're lucky enough you might even get to see a little bit of his cocky side if he gets confident enough
✶⋆.˚ park jongseong : look after him
It's no surprise to pretty much anyone who knows Jay that he's a really observant person who likes to take care of other people a lot
So, a sure-fire way to his heart is to make sure he gets taken care of in return!
It doesn't happen a lot, so even something as small as buying him snacks you know he likes or asking him if he's eating regularly is sure to give him butterflies
He definitely won't outright acknowledge it - mostly because he's afraid of taking your kind acts as something they're not, but the more you do them the more he'll catch on
Once you get closer try out small caring touches like tucking his hair away from his face when he's eating, or gently moving him out of the way of things
It tells him that, even if you might not say it directly, you're looking out for him in the same way he does for others - it makes him feel appreciated !! :((
Oh and if he ever gets sick be sure to insist on sticking by his side (almost annoyingly so) and maybe even cook him up a meal or two to seal the deal
✶⋆.˚ sim jake : cling to him (or let him cling to you)
It's pretty obvious that Jake is a clingy person with anyone from his closest friends to people he's just me - but if he likes you he'll definitely feel the need to stick around you even more than usual
The only issue is that he'll become even more conscious of how this might annoy you or be too much if he's constantly trailing around you :((
So you need to let him know it's okay!
Invite him to do things with you, even if they're small errands like just getting your groceries because it tells him that you enjoy his company no matter what!
Pulling on his shirt to get his attention or holding onto his arm to keep him close works well too - physical touch is defs his love language
And don't ever try to stop him from following you around or sitting too close
✶⋆.˚ park sunghoon : depend on him
It's no secret that Sunghoon is a man of little words, especially when he likes someone and is a little too shy to say it
His love language is definitely acts of service, and he wants so badly to do things for you, but poor boy is afraid of seeming like too much or coming across as pushy
So call on him whenever you need help - even if its something as small as getting him to open snacks for you, or helping you out with a question
Even if it's something you could probably do faster yourself, letting him know that you're willing to accept his help regardless will melt his heart
It also tells him that you see him as someone reliable and trustworthy which definitely boosts his confidence to talk and get to know you
He likes feeling useful and showing his affection by doing things for you, so if you give him the opportunity to, he'll definitely take it happily
✶⋆.˚ kim sunoo : agree with him
Having conversations with Sunoo is something that probably comes easily to the two of you given how talkative he is
However, the way to step it up is to agree with him whenever possible and bond over things you guys have in common
He's pretty opinionated about things - even topics like your favourite kind of weather or ice cream flavour can actually mean a lot to him!
It isn't that you have to mindlessly go along with everything he says or agree with every tiny point he makes
It's more that understanding his point of view on things is really touching, and helps him feel seen and heard!
And if you disagree make it an effort to hear him out on his reasoning and maybe even promise to give his recommendations a go
✶⋆.˚ yang jungwon : tease him
Just like a cat, Jungwon's love can be a little hard to win over especially since it's difficult to walk the line between friendship and more with him
One way to make it clear how you feel though, is to tease him in a way that borders on flirtation just enough to make him question it
This will keep you in his thoughts, and keep him curious for more
Mock him lightly or disagree with him for the sake of light-hearted bickering
If you get the chance challenge him to silly competitions ("Bet I can finish my rice faster than you.")
It's this kind of competitive yet playful tension that tugs at his heartstrings in an intriguing way - and will make sure he doesn't think of you as just a friend
✶⋆.˚ nishimura riki: listen to him
Despite his attempts at seeming mysterious and nonchalant, Niki's really a big softie inside - but he isn't going to just let you in easily
You have to show him that you really want to get to know him
If you're in a group make it clear that you're listening to him, eye contact and body language is the key, plus he's really good at reading it too!
Lean towards him, raise your brows to urge him to continue
Remember things he mentions to ask him about again later, hear him out and ask him questions to keep him talking
Before either of you realise it he's had an entire conversation with you about something he didn't even realise was bothering him
But realising that you're someone he can really trust and finds easy to talk to is the way to Niki's heart!

deal - cl16 (38/?)

Word Count: 3.2k
series masterlist
previous part
A/N: HE WON IN MONACO - HE WINS IN MONZA. CHARLES LECLERC IS THE WINNER OF THE 2024 ITALIAN GRAND PRIX!!!
Tumblr media
You purse your lips. “Bed - singular. Indeed.”
Charles and you stand in the doorway of his room. On the left wall next to a chest of drawers is a door that leads into a small bathroom, while on the right wall is a double bed, freshly made up. Several pillows are neatly arranged at the headboard, the bedside tables have been dusted and the room generally looks very tidy and well-kept. At the foot of the bed are your bags, which Pascale has just put there. Your bags - because you have to share the bed tonight.
“Yep,” replies Charles, who is standing behind you.
You nod slightly before entering the room and sitting on the edge of the bed. “What makes your mom think we're sharing a bed?”
Your roommate shrugs. “Do you remember the first morning in our apartment? When mom surprised us and invited us over for dinner?” He raises one of his arms, puts his hand on the upper door frame and leans against it.
You nod. “I remember.”
“And do you also remember Maman saying that, as my new girlfriend, you get to choose what's for dinner?” When you look at him with wide eyes, he purses his lips into a thin line. "I'm afraid we never set the record straight. Not even when Arthur called you my girlfriend.”
He's right. There have been several opportunities to clear this up. Charles could have called his mother or spoken to her at dinner. And you could have cleared things up too - but neither of you actually did.
You push the thought that you didn't clear it up because you inwardly wish that you were actually Charles' girlfriend to the back of your mind.
“Shouldn't we tell her?” you ask hesitantly. “After all, we're lying to your family.”
Charles shrugs his shoulders. “We certainly should,” he replies, but he doesn't sound convincing. “But not today. Not at Christmas. Maman loves you so much that I don't want to do this to her at Christmas. If that's all right with you.”
Pretending you two are a happy couple is certainly the last thing you should do - after all, being affectionate in such close quarters isn't particularly conducive to keeping your feelings in check. But you have no choice - after all, you don't want to spoil Pascale's Christmas.
“I'll sleep on the floor,” Charles snaps you out of your thoughts and points to the space between the foot of the bed and the dresser facing the bed. “I'll just take a few pillows off the bed and one of the thick blankets from the wardrobe and that should be enough for one night.”
You shake your head. “Absolutely not. You're going to training camp soon and you certainly can't go there with back pain,” you remind him, planning his days ahead. “I think Andrea would kill you if you didn't show up in top shape.”
The Monegasque sighs. “And how are we supposed to handle this?”
The look on his face is the same as when you were standing opposite each other in the living room. When he said that he didn't want you to feel uncomfortable around him. When he suggested you go back to being friends.
You miss him so much that it hurts. You'd love to get up and wrap your arms around him and never let go, but that's where the problem lies. His “mon ami” draws a clear line between what you want and what he wants. And you have to accept that, even if it breaks your heart.
But that doesn't mean he has to pull his back out just because he thinks his closeness makes you uncomfortable.
“We could share the bed,” you suggest as nonchalantly as possible. When he gives you a puzzled look, you shrug. “It's only for one night. And the bed is big enough for both of us. Then nobody has to sleep on the floor and Andrea won't kill you because you're going to camp with back pain.”
Charles raises his eyebrows. “Are you sure?” He takes his hand off the doorframe and walks towards you to sit on the edge of the bed next to you. “I don't want you to feel uncomfortable. I really don't mind sleeping on the floor.”
You smile at him. “It's okay,” you reply, "we're adults. We can share a bed quite reasonably. And it's only for one night. We should be able to manage that.” You look down at your hands in your lap before looking your roommate in the eye again. “I would have rather expected that we'd still have to sleep in separate rooms, even though your mom thinks we're a couple.”
Charles leans backwards, propping himself up on the bed with his elbows. “Why is that?”
“Well - some moms don't like their sons' girlfriends because they're afraid they'll take them away from them. Their little boy.” You can't suppress a grin. “And I don't think many would want their little boy to share a bed with their girlfriend either - even if they're all grown up.”
“That would imply that my maman can't stand you,” he replies and tilts his head back. As he swallows, his Adam's apple bounces up and down. “Besides, even if we were really together, I wouldn't have sex with you in my maman's house. I have that much decency - for now,” he grins and looks at you again. “And she knows that too. That's why she allows us to share a bed.”
As he talks about sex with you, heat shoots up your face and your hands get sweaty. Hopefully he doesn't notice you wiping them on your dress. “I like your mom,” you deflect from the topic.
“She likes you too,” he replies and sits up straight again. “Then let's not keep her and the others waiting any longer. After all, Christmas is a family holiday." He slowly gets up from the bed and turns to face you as he stands in the doorway. “Let's go, mon ami. Otherwise we'll get into trouble because she'll think we're getting it on like two teenagers who can't keep their hands off each other."
Thank God he leaves the room so that you can wave your hand in your face. His words make your pulse quicken so that you can almost hear your heart beating in your ears. Images appear in your head of his hands gliding over your body and his lips kissing your neck.
Before your thoughts take over, you jump up from the bed and smooth down your dress to follow your roommate back downstairs, where the rest of the family is already waiting for you. You enter the living room, where the youngest Leclerc puts his arm around your shoulder.
“Listen, when we play Monopoly later, the others will insist that you take the bank,” Arthur whispers in your ear. “If you'd be kind enough to slip me more money than I'm entitled from time to time, then -”
“Arthur! Are you trying to bribe my girl?” Charles calls over to you from the kitchen. The 'my girl' makes your knees go weak.
“I would never do that,” Arthur tries to defend himself and pulls you a little closer to him. “I'm just talking about how nice it is that your girlfriend is spending Christmas with us.”
“You're a bad liar,” Charles grins, leaning against the worktop. “Besides - do you really think she should help you cheat if I'm playing as well?”
“No one cheats at Monopoly here, otherwise I'll throw the game away and we'll never play it again,” Pascale interjects. “I don't want my sons to get nasty again just because they can't behave in a board game.” She joins her middle child in the kitchen to take two bottles of wine from the fridge and put them in his hand.
“Hey!” Arthur lets his arm slide off your shoulder to embrace his mom. He rests his cheek against the top of her head. “You're acting like we're cavemen.”
Pascale rolls her eyes. “Then don't act like one just because you can't keep it together in a board game. Now set the table, dinner will be ready soon.”
Together, you place plates and cutlery on the dining table as Enzo and Charlotte join you. The young woman hugs you tightly, while the eldest of the Leclerc brothers waves hello.
“It's nice to see you again,” she smiles and hugs you tightly. “You'll be the bank later - and my partner in crime, yes?” she whispers, before letting you go again.
Charles laughs out loud. “I heard that, Charlotte,” he warns her with a grin and stands next to you. “I think it's funny that you all think she'd associate with you when she's my girl.”
Charlotte winks at you. “It was worth a try.”
As you all sit together at the table and eat, you look around the room. There are Christmas decorations everywhere that weren't there a few days ago. There's even a Christmas tree in the living room, but there are no presents underneath it. When Pascale notices your gaze, she smiles at you and puts her hand on yours.
“We don't give each other presents at Christmas anymore,” she says, looking around. “Since -” Charles clears his throat as she swallows hard.
“After my father died, we decided that there would be no more presents at Christmas because family is the greatest gift you can get,” he explains, pursing his lips. “Dad always gave the best presents and when he was gone, it was different for us.”
You smile at him before squeezing Pascale's hand. “Thank you for letting me be here. It really means a lot to me.”
“You're always welcome here,” she replies. “I'm glad Charles met you. You can almost see how good you are for him and how much he loves you.”
“Maman.” Charles rolls his eyes and a blush shoots into his cheeks. “This is totally embarrassing.”
“I'm just telling it like it is,” she smiles, leaning over to whisper something in your ear while the others continue to talk. “But don't you dare help him with Monopoly later. After all, I invited you here and cooked the meal. I guess I deserve a few extra bucks,” she winks, before turning her attention back to the others' conversation.
You look at Charles, who smiles at you expectantly. “Everything all right?” he asks you. His hand, which is resting on his leg, twitches as if he wants to reach for yours.
You look around for a moment, watching the family members interacting lovingly and celebrating Christmas together, before turning back to him. “It couldn't be better.”
-
“You're taking the piss,” Arthur complains, jumping up from his chair with such a jerk that it tips backwards. “You'll never have enough money to buy the fourth station from Charlotte!”
You raise an eyebrow and hand Charlotte the banknotes as she slides the playing card over to you. "Do you really think I'd cheat on you guys? This is my first time playing with you!”
Pascale shakes her head. “Think about it, Arthur. She's simply done well. Look at how many streets - “ she starts to defend you, but falls silent before looking at you with her head tilted back. “Where did you get the money to afford so many streets?”
“Maman!” Charles interjects. “You can't just accuse my girlfriend of stealing money from the bank just because you're losing. That's not nice. Especially not at Christmas.”
Enzo rolls his eyes. “You're only saying that because she's your girlfriend. Love has made you blind, little brother.”
Charles smiles lovingly at you. “I guess it has. But that's okay. I don't mind losing to you.”
You return his smile sweetly. “That's good,” you reply and take a look at the pitch. “Because I've won.”
The Leclercs stare at the table, puzzled and amazed, as if you've shown them a magic trick. But really - there's no way they could beat you now.
Charlotte laughs. “I didn't even know you could actually win Monopoly. I thought it was a myth.”
Enzo takes a sip of his wine and nods at her. “You usually stop the game after three hours because you either don't feel like playing anymore or someone knocks over the board.”
“And it's usually you,” laughs Pascale and gets up from the table. “Very well. I declare the evening over for me. I'll see you in the morning,” she smiles at you before pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “I'm very glad you're here.”
“Me too,” you smile at her and look after her as she leaves the room.
The five of you tidy up the room and put everything neatly away in the cupboards before you say goodbye to each other as well. In the bathroom of your room, Charles and you get ready for bed and change into your sleeping clothes before standing in front of the bed that you have to share.
“Is it really okay for you if I sleep in the bed too?” Charles asks uncertainly as you sit down on the bed and slip under the covers.
“I wouldn't have offered if it wasn't,” you smile, patting his side of the bed. “We're both adults. And as long as it's okay for you, it's okay for me.”
Charles nods and scratches the back of his neck. “I really wouldn't mind sleeping on the floor.”
“I do.”
He can't say anything in reply. He slowly walks around the bed and slips under the covers as well. He turns off the light and lies down on his back.
The silence between you is strange and the physical distance doesn't make it any better. You can feel Charles' body heat through your shirt and shorts and it almost feels like the last few days haven't happened. You'd love to snuggle up to him and fall asleep by his side.
“Be honest,” Charles breaks the silence. “Did you steal money from the bank in Monopoly?”
You giggle briefly. “I did.”
Your roommate's laughter booms through the room. “I knew it! Oh my God!” You feel him turn to his side. “Welcome to the family. You're a real Leclerc now!” he laughs, barely able to contain himself.
“Psht!” you hiss at him. “Stop laughing! Otherwise you'll give me away and I'll lose my honorable Monopoly victory!”
“Honorable?” he asks and continues to snort. “You cheated!”
“And your family asked me to take money out of the bank for them so they could win,” you grin. “They're the worst family when it comes to Monopoly!”
Charles slowly gets himself under control again. “But otherwise we're a nice family, aren't we? Otherwise you wouldn't have spent Christmas with us.”
You nod, even though he can't see you. “I love your family.”
“And they love you. Especially Maman.”
You turn on your side too, in his direction. Apparently you're closer together than you expected, because you can feel his breath on your face.
“Is everything okay?” Charles asks quietly. “I mean - I don't want you to feel uncomfortable around me. I - I can still sleep on the floor if you want.”
“Charles,” you exhale, but before you can say anything, he continues speaking.
“I meant what I said to you on the boat. I can't be without you anymore and I'll do everything I can to make sure you don't turn your back on me. Nothing in this world is as important to me as you.” He takes a deep breath and exhales. “I can't describe it. You're my best friend - but so much more.”
As he moves, you feel the blanket slip over your body. You want to reach for his hand, to reassure him that you will never turn your back on him, but the words stick in your throat. Not because they're not true, but because they don't cover the whole truth that's inside you.
You love him. With every fiber of your being.
“You're the person I think of first thing in the morning. The person I look forward to the most when I get home. When you're with me, it's - I don't know - like we're permanently out on the open sea and the sun is shining down on us,” he confesses, without even thinking about what that might do to you.
“And I can't stop thinking about how you felt. How warm your skin is, how soft you feel under my hands. How the heat spreads through me when you touch me. It's like touching the sun and burning myself - but I can't stop thinking about how good it feels. You're my best friend,” he breathes out. “But fuck - if I said I didn't actually crave you, that would be an outright lie.”
You can feel the arousal gathering in your shorts, goosebumps spreading across your skin and heat rising in your face. When Charles suddenly moves and turns on the little light on the bedside table, you look at him.
“I can't share the bed with you if - if you -” he stammers, before taking a deep breath to sort out his thoughts. The comforter that was covering you a moment ago has slipped so far down due to his movements that it's below his hips - revealing his shorts and the bulge underneath.
“Charles,” you breathe, but you don't know how to answer him without telling him directly that you love him. You have to pull yourself together.
“I can't just lie next to you because it's tearing me up inside that I can't touch you, because I make you feel so uncomfortable that you don't want to share a bed with me in our apartment anymore.” His voice trembles, as does his hand, which is resting on his thigh.
You don't know what makes you do it, but apparently your brain goes blank and throws all doubts overboard as you lean over to him. His eyes are glued to you as you carefully place your hand on his and your fingertips touch the soft skin of his thigh. A lightning bolt twitches through your veins at the touch - nothing has ever felt as good as he does at this moment. “I never said I was uncomfortable, Charles.” You shake your head slightly. “Quite the opposite.”
Charles looks into your eyes, trying to see anything in them, hesitation or uncertainty, but the only thing he sees is warmth and a longing he knows all too well.
He squeezes your hand twice, and when you return his squeeze and squeeze his hand twice too - he snaps.

Tumblr media
summary: there's an competitor around, and the boys will make sure to let them know who's worthy of your heart.
with: inarizaki team (atsumu, osamu, aran, suna and kita)
n/a: better bring an ice bag for kai. boy's not in a good situation.
Tumblr media
⊛ miya atsumu: the show off
It’s unusual for Atsumu to feel insecure. He comprehends how handsome, talented, funny (his brother would disagree) and charming he is,which explains how he became so popular in school. Heck, he even discovered not long ago that he has a fanclub going on online. Based on those facts, it’d be foolish for some boy to try to compete with him. However, that’s not enough to make Kai, one of your classmates, give up on you. And that surely does a good job on getting on the blonde’s nerves, but he’s not a quitter, especially with something — better yet, someone — he’s been wishing for quite a while.
So, Atsumu uses his best weapon against the enemy: he shows off.
Seriously, that boy looks like a peacock, displaying all of his best features and abilities whenever you’re around, making sure that Kai also gets the hint. He praises you in every opportunity he finds, helps you carry your stuff, gives you sweets and snacks, and even tries to impress you with his physique, either by carrying something heavy, or randomly stretching his body or flexing his biceps.
But the moment he shines is surely on his volleyball matches. This boy overflows with confidence, making the court his stage to glow, and winning not only the game but a sweet peck of your lips on his cheek, congratulating his win. He gives you a beaming smile, taking a second to cheekily wink at his opponent’s direction, before returning his gaze to the real prize. “It was all for ya, babe.”
⊛ miya osamu: the competitive
Osamu’s also very assured of himself, aware of his many qualities (his brother would disagree), but when he notices that someone wants what he wants, a key turns inside his brain and he becomes seriously competitive. With his grades, physique, food, even his own Ma became a victim of his impulsive behavior — he couldn’t back down though, or Atsumu would be the favorite. It’s not a surprise that you’d also be included on that list, being his crush for almost a year.
To prove that he’s the best, he likes to challenge his opponents first. It can be anything, he might even let the person decide, but the rules remain the same: no cheating, and whoever loses must back off immediately. He can’t say he doesn’t feel a certain nervousness when he does those challenges; but when he compromises with something, you better be sure he goes to win. He’ll make sure of that.
And since Kai’s dumber than he looks like, it wasn’t a hard task to make the boy fall into his trap. After all, Osamu has a secret skill that most boys his age don't think it's important to get.
“I know what you're trying with ______.” Osamu counters, having found the boy alone in the locker room after PE. Kai rolls his eyes at him, finishing drying his hair. “And what’re you gonna do about it ? I ain’t afraid of you, Miya.”
“Really?” He approaches his adversary, starting to size him with an unwavering stare. “Then ya must know she loves some homemade cookies. ‘was thinkin’ of baking her some this week.” He gives him the best smirk he has. “You're not afraid of that, are ya?”
⊛ aran ojiro: the intimidator
Aran is a lovely boy. Seriously, he has such good manners, so friendly and respectful with others, that you wish all the boys could have the same attitude. He knows that, and that’s just his personality; what he noticed though, is that many guys get intimidated by him, mostly because of his size and tone of voice. It was weird to acknowledge that in the beginning, but now he enjoys the respect he gained from that.
When he realized that some nidiot was trying to win you over, he thought: why not use that, then?
Don’t misunderstand, Aran doesn’t approve of bullying at all, and he would lift a hand to someone if it wasn’t necessary. But maybe, you know, a simple warning might convince the boy to give up. It doesn’t hurt trying.
“Hey, Kai!” Aran finds the boy eating at a table in the cafeteria, and without waiting to be invited, he sits down right next to him, placing his chair very close his. “How'ya doing man? Good? Great, listen up.” He puts one huge hand on the boy’s back, while giving him a too-friendly smile. “I like _____. But I saw you trying to ask her out yesterday. You see, it’s really hard to date a girl if someone else’s on the way, so can you do me a favor? Stay away from her.” Low and clear, Aran’s voice sends chills over the poor boy’s body. Then he grins, smacking Kai’s back like long-time friends. “Thanks, bud!”
⊛ suna rintaro: the cunning
Suna’s really clever. He knows how to be patient enough to turn any situation in his favor: for example, winning you over. He doesn’t know how long it will take, or how many steps and casualties his plan might have, but everything he does is solemnly meant to make you fall in love with him, little by little. It doesn’t matter if a stone called Kai gets in the way: he knows how to handle it.
No man is perfect, so all he needed to do was find a flaw in his opponent. It could be the most silly thing, but if it made Kai’s reputation fall just a tad, it’d become a jewel in Suna’s hands.
And after a few days of observing his opponent, Suna found out that dear Kai is a womanizer. Heck, he didn't even try to hide the fact that he’s been hitting on almost all of the girls in his class, which made Suna very pleased, being able to record him charming a girl in good sound and details. With all the evidence, Suna makes his master move, revealing the whole truth to you.
“It’s okay, ______.” And there he is, cradling you in his arms and caressing your hair gently, comforting you after you saw the video. “There’s a lot of guys like him here. But don’t worry, I’ll make sure that none of them come your way, if you let me” His smile grows when he receives your grateful words, feeling you melt into his arms like you meant to do. “You’re welcome, sweetheart. I’ll always be here for you.”
⊛ kita shinsuke: the modest
Shinsuke’s so secure. It doesn’t matter if the guy who’s trying to win you over is the most popular, handsome, or intelligent man in the country. No one can change the fact that Kita knows you, the true you, and he knows that you’re perfect for each other, even with the differences that some might point out. You have what he admires, and he surely has admirable traits to convince you.
So all he does is treat you normally. Except that Kita’s normal is a very high level of manners and care that many boys in high school don’t even dream of having, including his opponent.
After all, it is rare to find a boy who’ll willingly bring you your favorite warm drink before class on the cold days, or help you study on the library so you can do well on tests, or walk with you to the bus stop on the way home just to make sure that you’re safe, or even send texts and paper notes reaffirming how special and capable you are.
And you found Shinsuke, who does all of that, and so much more just to see you well. Is there really anyone who can compete with him? He doesn’t think so.

Vox is being double fucked, and not in a way he wants to be. First, he’d caught win of the Radio Demon being back in town, hanging around, and second, possibly even worse, His ex-girlfriend is hanging around that old-timely prick. He had found momentary solace that from what he saw through the many drones circling the Hazbin Hotel, Alastor seemed to show a disdain for the woman. However, that quickly turned sour for him that night when he decided to be a peeping-tom over Alastor’s open window. The deer demon doesn’t often do that. In fact, he never did. This “slip up” gave him the perfect opportunity to peer up close.
Boy, he is going to deeply regret it. His drone hovered closer to the window with the open curtain, clear view straight into his bedroom and Alastor’s bed. The camera focused and zoomed into the mostly dimly lit room adjusting the mic sensitivity to pick up whatever noise was going on in the room. Vox didn’t have to turn up the gain very high, though, as soon as the camera came in contact with the glass moans and squeals could be heard in the surround-sound set up of Vox’s television room. And much to his dismay, in all 4k glory, the images coming in through said drone on the big screens is of none other than Alastor with her, together, on his bed, fucking.
Vox short circuited, eyes widened and smile completely fell as he gawked at the screen in front of him; his blood ran cold as he watched her riding Alastor as he lazily pumped his cock into her tight cunt. He could see the way the deer demon dug his claws into the fat of her ass cheeks to spread them further apart. This made her mewl and spread her knees further apart around Alastor’s hips as she met his thrusts at the same slow pace.
“F-fuck… Alastor… please.” her voice is broken and breathy, spent as if they’ve been at this for a while. Her moans sounded pathetic despite how loud she’s still being, begging for more, faster and harder but Alastor was not complying.
Alastor chuckled handsomely, kneading the globes of her ass ceasing his movements but not before pressing her down on his cock to bury his tip against her cervix. “Where are your manners, my dear?” he crooned, smile widening mischievously as she whined loudly. Still, she didn’t dare move or even grind her hips.
Tears began to well up in her eyes, “Sir! Sir! Please, Alastor!” she begged, nails digging into his chest out of desperation.
Alastor adjusted his grip on her ass, hands sliding from her hips down to the bottom of her ass to better support her weight, pleased with the sound of her fucked out voice. “That’s better, sweetheart. I suppose I should finally give you what you want, hmm?” Alastor side eyed the drone buzzing outside of the window, the screen in Vox’s TV glitched for a second before coming back into focus, now making eye contact with the radio demon through the lens. He pulled her up to the very tip of his cock and slammed into her tight heat as he let her also push her hips down meeting in the middle. Alastor fucked into her with renewed fervour, burring himself balls deep with every hammering thrust.
The grip on her was a vice, hard enough to prick the skin. Tiny droplets ran down her thighs, his hands and stained Alastor’s hips every time they met. She nearly toppled over atop Alastor’s chest, having to grip the headboard to keep herself from falling completely forward. Taking the opportunity, Alastor took one of her nipples in his mouth, sucking and nibbling at the hardened bud making the demon cry out, her tears cascaded down her cheeks from the ecstasy that coursed ramped through her body. The stimulation was almost too much for her to take, her jaw went slack feeling the next orgasm building in her core.
Alastor finally tore his gaze from drone to grip her jaw tightly making them lock eyes and bringing her face close to his, “Tell me who you belong to, my sweet,” long tongue darting out to lick the tears off her redden cheeks, “I want you to tell me just how good you feel,” his voice dropping down an octave and radio static buzzing picking up.
“You! I belong to you Alastor!” she shouted, arching her back more tears cascading down her reddening cheeks. “Only you can make me feel this good, sir. I’m yours only!” She could barely form the words with Alastor’s fingers digging into the meat of her cheek. The stinging of his nails felt delicious, his cock nuzzled deep in her cunt was absolutely delirium inducing, making her eyes roll back.
Meanwhile Vox on the other side of the screen couldn’t tear his eyes away from the big tv. As angry as he is, the erection pulsating in his tight trousers is begging to be given attention. He groans loudly, palming himself through the fabric to the sound of her voice begging for more, Vox seethed hearing Alastor’s name sound so pretty falling from her lips in such a lewd manner.
Alastor’s smile turned maniacal, full of satisfaction, as he pulled out of her completely, making her whine loudly in protest. But it died in her throat when he forcibly pushed her on her back against the mattress.
“That’s right, my dear. Only me. You’re just my perfect little slut, aren’t you?” the deer-demon slammed himself inside her tight heat with one powerful thrust. He started a relentless pace, more brutal than the last, hammering hard enough to make her entire body recoil and slide over the sheets. She had to hold on to his forearm and biceps to hold herself in place so his fat cock could keep plunging all the way in, desperate to have this cock kissing her cervix. “That’s my good girl,” he purred, leaning over to steal her lips in a savage kiss. His tongue pushed its way into her mouth wrapping around her own. She felt like she was quickly running out of oxygen as if Alastor was sucking the very air from her lungs. She didn’t attempt to pull away and continued kissing, letting him swallow all her needy noises.
Vox couldn’t stand it anymore, shoving his hand inside to furiously stroke his rock-hard cock. Groaning and moaning along to her, whining her name as his free hand came to touch the screen. It was humiliating, disgusting, and aggravating all at the same time how intensely aroused he was and the fact that Alastor was fully aware he’s watching. He knows the smug, old time-y bastard is doing all of this on purpose but he can’t stop. He doesn’t want to.
“You’re such a good girl… I’m going to fill you to the brim, my dear. You better not waste a single drop,” he growled, finally pulling away from the kiss, leaving her gasping for air, “And I’ll keep going until you’re full of my fawns. Would you like that, sweetheart? To be bred by me?” She could barely process any of what he’s saying but she nodded, fucked completely dumb, her pussy fluttering and tightening around him.
She couldn’t even form a coherent sentence without slurring her words, “Yes yes yes yes yesyesyesyes! Please breed me sir. Want to be so full, please.” Alastor has nearly achieved fucking her completely into submission, she was so pliable under his touch now.
The more she mindlessly begged, the faster his knot swelled and he was ready to drain his balls into her waiting womb. Her voice only made him grow more feral, demonic form taking over as his antlers and limbs grew in size stretching her cunt even wider. “As you wish, my dear. You’re going to be a good girl, aren’t you?” his voice becoming more gravelly, radio static so intense it started interfering with the camera that was still pointed directly at them.
She screamed, clawing at his chest, the sheets and anything she could grab. Fresh warm tears stinging her tear-burnt cheeks, “Please.. please… it won’t fit! Alastor!” voice so broken and horse.
But Alastor wasn’t having it, his large hands wrapped around her waist— better said her torso “I’ll make it fit, my dear.” With brute strength his knot bridged her soaked entrance.
His tip also spread over her cervix making it into her womb, releasing his massive load into her, “That’s it… good girl.. I knew you could do it.” He stilled his hips, making sure that not a drop would spill out of her. The sensation alone caused her to squirt, mouth hanging open in a silent scream. Everything became too much all at once; the overstimulation hit like a fucking truck, her orgasm washing over her aching body. She shook uncontrollably; she clung hard to Alastor in an attempt to keep herself grounded somehow, but her brain is too fuzzy and her eyes are barely open.
The deer chuckled, licking and kissing the remaining tears off her face, “You’re such a good girl. It’ll get easier with time, don’t you worry, sweetheart.” He nuzzled her neck and cheek, a little sob falling from her lips feeling the sting on her cheeks from crying. But even in her delirious state when her face turned towards the window she caught sight of the drone and her eyes went wide. “You put on quite a show for our old pal. Now he knows who you belong to, isn’t that right, my sweet brat?” He kissed her cheek again, holding it gently for the camera.
Vox shamelessly zoomed in with the hand that was covered in his cum, focusing the high definition lens on her blissed out face. She whined at the realization Vox had been watching and hearing that whole thing, she squirmed as her cunt pulsated, turned on by the fact she had been viewed in such a depraved state.
“Tut-tut. No moving. You’re not wasting a single drop,” Alastor chided pushing even deeper into her. Her back arched painfully screwing her eyes close finally letting herself fall in the feeling of fullness. Full to the absolute brim, so much so her belly protruded prominently.
Alastor rubbed at her belly with a wide Cheshire smile, “Is this the only way to get you to cease being such an infuriating woman? You’re always so good when I stuff you this much.”
At that point the post orgasm shame was hitting Vox too hard, feeling half disgusted with himself he moved away from the window and closed down the stream. He could only stare at his soiled hand, contemplating.

The sizzling sound of clashing lightsabers filled the air in the training room, blue and green beams of light swinging around and colliding with one another with a resounding spark.
Seonghwa's saber was swung towards you, which you blocked, pushing back with your own weapon and successfully deflecting his attack. He let out a huff, a small smirk playing at the corner of his mouth at the challenge. He always liked battling with you, though you bested him most of the time, he took it as a chance to improve.
The blue beam of light Seonghwa wielded was spun around in a showy manner as he lunged forward, raising the saber. Your eyes stayed trained on him as he approached with an aggressive attack, holding out your green lightsaber in preparation before swinging it at his and successfully knocking it from his hand.
Seonghwa grunted in mild agitation as he landed on the ground, having lost his footing when he landed. His arm shot out and brought the weapon back to his hand by using the Force. He was always good at that.
Getting to his feet, he wasted no time coming at you again, this time with a determined gleam in his eye. His burst of energy took you by surprise and you found yourself scrambling to do something before his blazing beam of light came swinging at you. With only a few seconds to react, your lightsaber came up to halt his attack, the beams making a sizzling sound when touching.
The weapons were pulled away from one another before clashing once more, and again, and again. Each time, neither of you were able to strike the other.
This was a familiar scene. Being in this gray training room with walls made of metal. You and Seonghwa had spent almost your whole lives training to be Jedi. You were Luke's only apprentices. You were the best of friends—inseparable some might say.
After continuing to block attacks, you saw a moment of opportunity and leapt into the air, attempting to use the Force to assist you in going high enough to jump right over Seonghwa. You just barely missed his head as you moved through the air, landing on the ground with a soft huff. Now standing just behind Seonghwa, you held the tip of your lightsaber to the back of his head, making him freeze.
"I win."
"Not bad." He commented with a chuckle, raising his hands in surrender before turning to face you. "That Force jump was a little rusty though."
"I thought I'd try something new." You shrugged, deactivating your weapon.
"You could still use some practice." He remarked, doing the same with his saber.
"I'm impressed." A voice full of wisdom spoke from one end of the training room.
You and Seonghwa turned your heads towards the utterance, finding Luke standing in the doorway with a fond expression on his face. He had been watching.
"Y/n, that's the first time I've seen you successfully execute a Force jump. You need a little more practice, but I think you'll have it down in no time."
"Thank you, Master Luke." You bowed at his praises, always honored to receive them from such a well-known Jedi.
"Seonghwa, you have this fire in your eyes when engaged in a fight. You've got determination, but your attacks were a little aggressive. When in battle it's good to be strong and vigorous, but you also need to be fluid and focused. Sometimes hostility isn't the best course of action."
Seonghwa nodded, taking in the information he was being given. He wanted to be a good Jedi, as good as Master Luke, and he would do anything to work towards that goal.
"I'll try and tone it down." He nodded, showing that he understood the critiques he was given.
"Good." Luke smoothed out his gray robes, giving the both of you a once over before speaking again. "You two had better go eat. I'm sure you're exhausted from training. You kids have been in here for hours."
With that, he exited the training room.
Glancing over at your battle partner, you could see his round coffee-colored eyes shine with interest at the mention of food—Seonghwa was always a big eater.
"Let's go." You linked arms with him, tugging him out of the room and into the corridor of the ship you often trained in.
Hurrying down the loading ramp of the spacecraft that was parked amongst the lush greenery, you and Seonghwa hastened across the base past other Resistance members, heading directly for the canteen which was really just a large tent set up for people to eat in.
Seonghwa pushed past the beige canvas flaps and entered the area where a handful of people were eating. His eyes locked on the bar situated at the back of the tent where a droid was busying itself by stacking clean bowls. Plopping down on two of the six vacant barstools, you and Seonghwa rested your elbows on the countertop, the droid rolling over to take your orders. A wooden board with a small selection of dishes carved into it hung from a structural beam above the bar. Seonghwa's index finger hovered in the air as he read over the items as if he hadn't done so the last thousand times you two had been in there. While he decided what he wanted, you waved the droid over and ordered a vitajuice and a warm stew, hoping for something filling after a strenuous practice battle.
"Me too." Seonghwa piped up before the droid rolled away, settling on getting the same as you.
"Copycat."
He snorted-slash-scoffed in response to your playful name-calling. "It sounded good when you ordered it. Also, a vitajuice is what I need right now after all that practice." As if to emphasize his words, he stretched out his back and jerked his head a bit, cracking his neck in the process.
"Sure." You responded with an eye roll.
The low murmur of patrons in the mess tent and the distant sound of clanking dishes in the back floated through the air, filling the comfortable silence between you and Seonghwa as you waited for your meals.
The bar droid rolled out from the kitchen area with two glasses clutched in each of its pincers, placing them in front of you and Seonghwa. After thanking the droid, it got back to work behind the counter stacking dishes, picking up right where it left off.
Taking the straw between your index finger and thumb, you took a sip of the refreshing juice, sighing in satisfaction as the cool liquid coated your mouth.
"Ahh. That hits the spot." You hummed.
"Sure does." Seonghwa agreed, sipping so hard on the straw that his cheeks sucked in.
You cackled in response to the ridiculous sight next to you.
"Easy there, bud. It's not going anywhere." You managed to speak through laughter, giving him a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
He pulled away with a drawn-out exhale, the drink having obviously refreshed him.
"I could've chugged the whole thing if I really wanted to."
"I don't doubt it."
Seonghwa's large eyes grew in size when a droid from the kitchen rounded the corner with two bowls of piping hot stew a few minutes later, his hungry gaze following the dishes until they were set down before you. Spoons were given to each of you and you wasted no time getting a sizable spoonful of the stew, Seonghwa following suit. Hums made in unison reverberated in both your throats when you took your first bites, the meal warming you from the inside.
"Is it just me or does food taste better after you've been practicing?" You asked.
"It definitely tastes better." Seonghwa nodded in agreement.
After a filling and satisfactory meal, you took a stroll around camp while your food settled. People bustled about, carrying equipment and crates across the way, some taking them into a nearby cave which doubled as a makeshift hangar for one of the many spaceships.
There was a nice breeze jostling the baby hairs that framed your face and fluttering the leaves of nearby trees. The gray fabric of your pants brushed against the tall grass that covered every inch of the area and beyond. Ajan Kloss, the jungle moon where the Resistance base resided, was where you and Seonghwa had been living your whole lives. You were both moved here as kids, probably no older than ten, by your resistance member parents and when your shared force-sensitivity was discovered by Luke, he started training you. It's all either of you had ever known. There were only fleeting glimpses of your old home planet.
A year later, you found yourself sitting on the Millennium Falcon with Seonghwa, seated on the curved bench of the holographic game table in the lounge area watching him play a round of dejarik with Chewbacca. The ship, piloted by Luke and his closest companion, Han Solo, was headed straight to the planet of Ilum to find kyber crystals for yours and Seonghwa's very own lightsabers. It was tradition for younglings to build their lightsaber before moving up to padawan status, but Luke was different. He had his own ways of training that contrasted from how it used to be before the Great Jedi Purge took place and wiped out almost all the Jedi. Thus why you and Seonghwa were just now getting lightsabers. To say you were excited was an understatement.
Chewbacca raised his furry arms up in victory, having beat Seonghwa in yet another round of dejarik.
"Man." Sighed your friend as he leaned back against the bench with a small smirk tugging up at the corner of his mouth.
"Don't feel bad." You gave him a supportive pat on the shoulder. "Chewie has been playing this game for years. He's a dejarik pro. It's nearly impossible to beat him."
"One day." Seonghwa pointed at the undefeated Wookie who waved off his promise dismissively.
"Hey, kids." Han's approaching voice, followed by the man himself, grabbed your attention. "We're on autopilot right now, but we should be to Ilum soon." He then turned to Chewie. "I hope you're going easy on him." He nodded towards Seonghwa.
The Wookie shook his head before throwing his head back to laugh heartily. Han gave a small chuckle and a head shake of his own before leaning to rest against the nearest wall.
"So, lightsabers." He began.
"Yeah." You nodded with a grin. "I'm really excited. This is a special day."
"Very special." Seonghwa agreed. "It's the most significant day for us as padawans."
"Oh, yes." Han nodded. "I know all about it." He paused to look at the both of you. "Y'know, Luke is really proud of you both. I'm sure he's told you that in some way or another, but I figured I'd say something anyway."
You and Seonghwa shared a gentle look with one another, touched by Han's words.
"Alright, well," He cleared his throat and pushed off the wall he was leaned against, heading out of the room. "gotta get back to the cockpit. Chewie, try to let Seonghwa win a round, will ya?"
A year after you and Seonghwa crafted your lightsabers, Master Luke passed away. It was sudden and almost decisive, like Luke knew it was his time to go and so he went to be one with the Force. Things changed after that.
Your training came to a temporary halt and you were left without a Jedi Master. For a week you didn't leave your sleeping quarters. Meals were brought to you via Leia. Chewie even stopped by once. He was good company and his hugs were always healing in a way. You heard Seonghwa was about the same, staying cooped up in his room just like you.
After that first week, you tried to return to normal and Seonghwa started spending time in the training room swinging his lightsaber and screaming until his lungs burned. You only knew that because you saw him once when passing by. That was the only time you saw him, as he stayed locked in his room majority of the time, isolating himself.
A week and four days after Luke's passing, Seonghwa disappeared. You two were both so wrapped up in mourning that you kept to yourselves. Once your mind had cleared enough, you wanted to check on your friend and see how he was holding up. When the door to his sleeping quarters slid open, you were alarmed to find it completely bare. His bed was made and every piece of furniture was cleared off.
The color drained from your face and every part of your body went cold, your heart plummeting to your feet.
"No." You murmured, spinning around and rushing down the corridors of the ship, stopping at the training room only to find it empty.
Stumbling through the halls, you called out Seonghwa's name, the desperation and panic becoming more apparent in your tone.
"Y/n. What's wrong?"
Whirling around on your heel, you spotted Leia standing at the entrance hall of the spaceship.
"Seonghwa's gone." The words left your lips shakily, fading out weakly at the end. "His room is bare. Cleaned out."
Leia hurried over to take you in her arms just as your knees buckled. With Luke's passing still fresh, Seonghwa disappearing suddenly was like rubbing salt in a wound that hadn't even begun to heal.
"It's alright." Leia cooed, placing a gentle hand on the back of your head. "He could've needed some time alone... away from here."
"Why would he just leave without saying anything?"
"It's possible he's dealing with lots of emotions right now. Maybe he was overwhelmed."
The next words you uttered were muffled due to your face being buried in Leia's shoulder. "Do you think he'll come back?"
"He will. Just give him time."
You sat inside your sleeping quarters of a ship parked at the Resistance base, staring fondly at the lightsaber in your hands. Your fingertips glided reverently over the silvery metal of the hilt, admiring the intricate designs that were etched into them—a personal touch. Though you'd possessed the saber for three years, you still admired it.
"Y/n?"
At the sound of your name being called, you lifted your gaze to find General Leia standing in the doorway of your room.
"Come in."
She entered, a solemn expression etched on her aged yet elegant face as she moved to take a seat beside you on the bed.
"You look concerned." Shifting to face Leia, your brows pulled together. "What's wrong?"
"They're after us again."
"They? The First Order?"
She nodded. "They already destroyed our last base and now they're trying to find this one."
"What do we do? Do we move?"
Leia shook her head. "No. We're not giving up. Besides, they haven't found us yet."
"Then, why'd you come to me?"
She pressed her lips together and stood up, smoothing out her attire. "Let's walk."
You stood up immediately and followed her down the corridor of the ship and off the loading ramp.
Although you tried to be patient, you were itching to know why Leia had come to you with this urgent information. However, instead of forcing her to speak, you waited for her to do it on her own accord.
Your gaze moved to the ships parked about the area as you approached, your fingers fiddling anxiously with the hem of your gray tunic. Whatever it was she needed to say, it wasn't good.
"We need you, Y/n." She finally spoke. "You were trained by my brother and then by me for the last three years."
You blinked incredulously, wondering where she was going with this.
"We don't know what the First Order knows about our location or if they even know it at all. So I need you to sneak onto their ship and plant a listening device."
"You need me to do... what?"
"If we could listen in on what they're talking about, we could collect intel, find out what they know, and use it to our advantage."
"Leia I..." You trailed off, reeling from this being dropped on you so suddenly. "I'm sorry. I have to decline. I-I'm not ready."
"You are. You've been ready."
"There has to be someone else."
She came to a stop, turning to face you fully, her expression serious. "There isn't. You're our only hope."
You shook your head. "What if—"
"No." She stopped you. "No what if's. Y/n, if I didn't think you were capable, I wouldn't be sending you on this mission."
You hardly even ventured off Ajan Kloss. How were you expected to carry out this mission?
"I just..." Your mind was a swirling supercell storm of emotions.
There were so many things to consider, like your lack of expertise in other areas besides battle and having no experience in real missions.
"I can't fly a spaceship, let alone sneak into enemy territory with one. How would I even manage to get by their sensors? They'd pick me up in their airspace right away."
"I can do it." Poe piped up as he happened to be passing by. "I've got a First Order ship in the cave over there." He jerked a thumb somewhere behind him towards a cluster of rocks.
"How did you even get one of those?"
He shrugged in response. "Connections."
Just then, Finn passed by, giving you both a friendly smile and a small wave, oblivious to your conversation. You nodded knowingly in immediate understanding.
"Ah. I see."
"So, will you do it?" Leia asked you, bringing the focus back to the issue at hand.
Taking in a deep breath, you let the possible outcomes flicker in your mind like a slideshow. This could all go terribly wrong—or perhaps it could go incredibly well. Leia believed in you and being the only Jedi on the base, you felt obligated to help, not that you could ever say no anyway.
"Yes."
Walking down the familiar corridors of the ship you called home, you tried to process the fact that you'd be going on your first mission very soon. It was a heavy weight to bear and an even bigger responsibility. Lost in thought, you passed by a room that carried bitter emotions, your footsteps coming to a stop beside it without really thinking. Pressing a button, the door slid open and your eyes landed on the space that was untouched for three years.
Seonghwa's room.
Passing the threshold, you stepped inside and glanced around, your fingers caressing the comforter.
"I sure wish you were here right now." You sighed, speaking aloud to the memories of Seonghwa that remained stagnant in the space. "Could really use your help on this one."
A lump formed in your throat and you swallowed it down, blinking back tears that started to prick your eyes. At first you were sad and confused about Seonghwa leaving all of a sudden—you still were. Then you got angry, feeling like he walked out on you. Now you were just numb.
"This should've been our mission, not mine."
Dropping down to sit on the edge of his bed, you let out another heavy sigh. Your fingers traced absentmindedly over the sleek nightstand, trailing across the handle of a drawer. Without thinking, you tugged on it, something jostling inside as you did so.
With furrowed brows, you peered into the drawer, your eyes slowly widening when you spotted Seonghwa's lightsaber lying inside. With a shaky hand, you reached in and took hold of the hilt, retrieving it from where it sat for three long years.
He left his lightsaber.
This only raised more questions. Did he just give up? Decide he didn't want to be a Jedi anymore since Luke passed?
An image of Seonghwa living on some run-down planet, isolated and alone, flashed in your mind and you hated it.
Shaking away those thoughts, you stood up, your friend's lightsaber in hand, and left. Seonghwa's abandoned weapon was placed on a shelf in your room for safe keeping in case he returned one day.
The following evening, you gathered in the meeting hall with other Resistance members where a plan was made for how you'd infiltrate the First Order's ship and where to plant listening devices. A layout of the enemy ship was projected into the air showing all the different areas.
"A meeting room would be ideal. As would the main control room of the ship. That is where talks between the generals and captains take place." C-3PO spoke in his posh robotic voice while R2-D2 beeped in response. "You could collect lots of intel there."
You nodded, taking it all in, determined to do your absolute best on this mission.
Staring down the entry point on the First Order ship, you clenched your hands at your sides, anxiety plaguing every inch of your body.
"You got this." Poe's voice came from the cockpit of the ship. "I'll be waiting here for you when you're done. You can communicate through your earpiece and I'll be keeping an eye on you through the tracking device inside of it."
"What if I mess up?"
"You won't. I'll tell you where to go."
"What if I get captured?"
"Then we're coming for you."
With that reassurance, you gave a nod and hopped off the spacecraft and into the hangar, sticking close to the wall. You came equipped with three listening devices to plant and your lightsaber which was strapped to your waist in its holster. Your vigilant eyes stayed trained on the stormtroopers marching about the hangar as you slinked along, sneaking behind large First Order spacecrafts parked about the area and using them for coverage until you got to the doors that led to the inside of the ship.
Letting out a shaky exhale, you waited for an opportunity to slip inside when no one was looking. Your hands trembled as you felt the slightest bit of relief that one hurdle had been conquered. Now it was time for the real mission—planting listening devices and not getting caught.
"Poe? I'm in." You whispered.
"Good. You're doing well." He responded through your earpiece. "Go straight and then take a left."
Taking in a deep breath, you proceeded down the empty and darkened corridor of the ship, peering around the corner before taking a turn. There was no time to waste, so you kept moving while waiting for more instructions.
"There you go. Keep going. The meeting room is on your right. Put a listening device under the table in there if the coast is clear."
"Is this it?" You asked once you arrived at a large set of dark gray doors.
"Yes."
Pressing your ear against the cool metal, you listened for voices on the other side, receiving silence in response. Your trembling finger pressed the button to open the doors, a breath of relief leaving your dry lips when you were greeted with the sight of an empty room. Digging out a listening device, you stuck it under the edge of the table, poking your head out to check the halls before swiftly moving out.
"I got it."
"Alright. Proceed down the hall."
Your feet moved quickly, your boots making little noise in the process.
With Poe's direction, you were able to successfully place the second device without issue.
As you fled the area, the sound of stormtroopers talking made you freeze up. Being on a First Order ship, the structure of it was unique with protruding pillars that made for the perfect hiding spot. That, paired with the dim lighting was ideal for your situation, making it easy for you to slip through the shadowy areas. As the voices got closer, you darted to hide yourself behind one of the blocky pillars that jutted out from the wall, pressing yourself against the chilly metal and hoping you wouldn't get caught. The beating of your racing heart thudding in your ears almost completely masked the footfalls of the stormtroopers, your hand hovering over your lightsaber as you watched the two pass by. Your eyes stayed locked on them, following the white-armored figures who didn't notice your presence.
The hand that lingered over your weapon dropped back to your side once the threat was gone and you were on your way.
One more listening device to place.
The intense anxiety you felt before the mission began was not nearly as bad as it was. Having been roaming the corridors of the spaceship for the last ten minutes or so, you managed to get used to the task you were carrying out. That being said, there was still the anxiety of everything going wrong, however, you tried to keep your hopes up.
"Y/n? You still there?"
"Yeah." You let out an exhale. "Stormtroopers passed by. I was hiding."
"Good call. Your last destination is the control room. That'll be difficult because it'll be full of ship staff I'm sure."
Poe could hear your sigh through the earpiece.
"Hey, you got this." He encouraged.
"I know."
"You don't sound very confident."
"I'm not." You murmured, peering around a corner before rounding it. "But I'm gonna pretend to be."
"There you go. Fake it 'til you make it."
A mix between a scoff and a chuckle left you.
"Control room is up the way. Keep an eye out though, there might be some unsavory individuals in there."
That made your heart jump with dread. Unsavory individuals?
"Like who?"
"Ones in higher ranks, like generals."
"I see."
You proceeded down the corridor, pressing yourself behind another metal pillar to hide from more approaching stormtroopers. As soon as they passed, you got back to the mission.
"The doorway should be directly ahead of you." Poe informed.
"I see it."
A few feet in front of you was an open doorway, multiple uniformed people sitting in front of large control panels. Holding your breath, you drew closer to the doorway, daring to peer inside. Standing at the forefront of the room in front of a massive window and more controls was a man in a black uniform, probably a general, discussing something with another crew member.
"Just stick the tracker in a corner or something. Don't stay too long." Poe's voice spoke into your ear.
With the last listening device in hand, you scanned your surroundings and took a step into the control room, spotting one of those structural pillars. The little device was placed into the junction between the wall and the column, unable to be spotted unless someone was really looking for it.
Back on the ship, Poe watched the red dot on his little handheld tracker screen as it moved along the halls of the First Order ship.
"You got it?" He asked.
"Yeah."
"Nice work." He grinned. "I knew you could do it. Now get back here and let's split."
"Copy that."
His eyes stayed locked on the red dot traversing the map as he gave you directions. Every few feet, you'd stop, assumably to hide from passerby in the ship, before resuming.
"Almost there." He said.
You were approaching the hangar, only one turn down the hall and you'd be home free.
The dot stopped moving.
A gasp sounded from your end and Poe's heart sank.
"Y/n?"
"Well, well, well. What's this?" A male voice spoke, sounding close to you.
More panicked noises came through, getting quieter before Poe heard a distant "No!" from you before the feed got staticky, a crunch, and then silence.
"Y/n?" The panic in the pilot's voice rose. "Are you there? Do you copy?"
Nothing.
Poe looked out the windshield of the First Order ship he used to sneak in, peering down at the stormtroopers lingering about. Some of them had their hands held to the side of their helmets before turning to look directly at the spacecraft Poe was occupying.
"Blast!" He hissed through his teeth.
Not only had he lost contact with you, but it seems whoever caught you had notified everyone on board. He had no choice but to hightail it out of there, lest he get captured as well.
"Sorry, Y/n." He murmured, sitting upright in his seat and starting up the ship. "New plan."
The stormtroopers below started shooting at the spacecraft as it lifted off the floor, the hangar door beginning to close. Poe pushed the handles on the control panel forward and the ship plowed down the troopers close by.
"C'mon. C'mon." He spoke through clenched teeth, directing the spacecraft towards the exit, picking up speed.
The gap was slowly closing and it seemed Poe wasn't gonna make it. He winced as the top of the ship scraped against the closing hangar door, not doubt denting and scratching the exterior, as it slipped out into the open space.
A sigh of relief left the pilot as he made his escape, silently vowing to come back with a whole team of Resistance fighters to bring you home just as he promised.
You'd been listening to instructions from Poe, coming to a stop to peer around the corner when he told you to take a turn. That's when someone grabbed you from behind, making you gasp. You couldn't see who it was as you struggled in their grip.
"Y/n?" Poe asked.
"Well, well, well. What's this?" A male voice spoke, a gloved hand moving into your peripherals as your earpiece was pulled out and dropped to the floor.
"No!" You exclaimed.
You could barely hear Poe's panicked voice from the device as it fell, clattering to the metal flooring, your captor swiftly crushing it under his chunky black boot.
You writhed in his hold, somehow managing to slip out, stumbling forward and reaching for your lightsaber which you withdrew from its holster and activated it, the green beam humming as it extended from the hilt.
Your enemy, who donned an all-black outfit and a hood that concealed his face, activated his own saber, a blazing red beam lengthening at his side.
With hardly any time to react, you held your lightsaber up, blocking an aggressive attack from the Sith in front of you. Any anxiety you felt was numbed by your survival instincts and the desire to make it back home—if that was even an option anymore. For all you knew, Poe could've abandoned the mission for the sake of safety.
Clenching your teeth, you pushed back against the red beam with all the power you could muster, getting the Sith away just long enough to scramble backwards down the corridor. It didn't take long before he was back on you again, swinging left and right while you blocked and dodged his attempted attacks. Your back hit a door and your free hand felt for a button, pressing it. A hissing sound came from the hatch as the doors slid open and you staggered backwards inside. The area had electrical panels on the wall and was more spacious than the ship's corridor, giving you more room to fight and move around.
The Sith strode into the room with you and swiped at your side, which you barely evaded. In turn, you let out a grunt and swung your weapon at his chest, which he leaned back and avoided with ease.
Straightening his posture, he brandished his lightsaber in preparation, his boots thumping heavily against the floors as he approached. A shout left the hooded man as he swung at you, the saber making a resounding voosh as the blade was forced through the air.
Your eyes widened as his saber collided with yours harshly, the force behind the action making you stumble back slightly, your arms trembling as you tried to push back against it.
You weren't prepared for this.
All that training and you weren't prepared.
With a jerk of his lightsaber, The Sith knocked your weapon right out of your hand, causing it to deactivate and skid across the room.
The cloaked figure held his weapon above his head, spinning while thrusting the blade in your direction, the force of the showy action causing his hood to fly off just as you fell to the ground trying to back away.
"Ugh!" A grunt was forced out of your body as you collided with the floor, your eyes staring down the humming red beam pointed directly at your throat.
Your chest moved up and down rapidly with each shallow breath, looking up at your attacker with wide, horrified eyes as you realized his hood had flown off. Every limb in your body went cold, the blood draining from your face in an instant.
"Seonghwa?"
His hair was longer, reaching just above his shoulders, some of the long strands stuck to his forehead from the intense fight. His eyes, which you remembered being round and full of warmth, were now sharp and cold as ice. Your best friend had fallen victim to the Dark Side.
His eyes widened for just a millisecond at the sound of his name before narrowing, his gaze hardened and full of contempt as if just seeing you brought back unwanted memories.
"What did they do to you?" Your voice came out in a faint whisper of shock and horror.
"They didn't do anything to me."
His tone was harsh and calloused, no sign of the once upbeat and soft-spoken Seonghwa you knew three years ago.
The severity of the situation hit you and you began scrambling back away from the deadly red beam of light in your face, your arm reaching out to bring your own saber back to you. It slowly started rolling towards you only for Seonghwa to stretch an open hand out towards it, intercepting it and throwing the weapon across the room by an invisible force.
"You may have been a better fighter, but you always were a horrible user of the Force." He spat.
The doors to the room hissed and two stormtroopers walked in.
"Take her away." Seonghwa ordered sternly watching you with an unchanging and stoic expression as you were roughly tugged to your feet and dragged out of the room. "Detention cell 1117." He specified.
There were so many things you wanted to say, yet nothing came from your lips. All you could do was stare at Seonghwa with an expression full of confusion and hurt as you were hauled out of the room.
The cell you were placed in was nothing like you expected; it was clean and equipped with a small, but cushioned cot. The stormtroopers shoved you into the room, slamming the door shut, giving you one glance through the gated window before marching away.
You dropped down onto the cot, your trembling knees no longer able to support you, letting you collapse.
Seonghwa.
He didn't run away, he became a Sith. All these years worrying and wondering where he was, if he was okay, asking yourself why he left... and he was here.
How did this happen?
It was the question that kept spinning in your mind, echoing repeatedly.
How did this happen?
There was no way Seonghwa, your best friend, the man you secretly liked, had turned to the Dark Side. It didn't make sense. He never showed any desire to cross over, not that you could recall, anyway.
The dull ache in your heart grew in intensity the longer you thought about what your best friend had turned into.
The heavy thump of approaching footsteps made you lift your head, your eyes locking with those of the man you once knew. The door to your cell swung open and he stepped inside, his presence alone shifting the air in the room.
No words were exchanged at first. All you could do was stare at him, taking in the angry lines etched on his otherwise flawless face. His intense eyes stared you down, the scowl on his face not budging. This new version of Seonghwa was jarring to say the least, but he was still someone you used to know.
"So this is where you ran off to." You murmured.
He didn't speak, staring you down in silence. His lack of response was both perplexing and agitating. Did he have nothing to say?
You scoffed, shaking your head as a spark of anger ignited. "I can't believe you." Your expression was full of emotion, rage fueled by sadness and betrayal. It felt like you'd been punched directly in the heart.
Seeing Seonghwa again wasn't the joyous reunion you imagined it would be—it was much worse. Instead of embracing him in a tearful hug, you had been blocking his aggressive attacks and trying to make it out of the battle unscathed.
As Seonghwa stood just inside the cell, the emotions you felt rapidly turned into fiery anger that unfortunately reared it's ugly head.
"You got weak." You spoke through gritted teeth, your fists clenching.
In a fit of sudden rage, you stood up from the cot and charged at Seonghwa with a shout.
Your breath hitched when you felt a pressure around your throat, your wide eyes staring at the man you called your best friend with a gloved hand outstretched and fingers partially curled. A strained noise left your dry mouth as you clawed at your throat futilely, desperate to get rid of the invisible force that constricted your windpipe.
"You're the weak one." Seonghwa spoke, his voice low and threatening as his extended arm lifted higher, his gaze boring holes into you.
"Pl-please." You choked out, your legs kicking as your feet left the floor, black spots dotting your vision.
His hand squeezed more, curling in just another inch or so and applying more crushing pressure to your windpipe.
"Hwa." You whimpered, your voice nothing but a hoarse and whispered plea.
"Don't call me that." He hissed through clenched teeth. "That name died when Luke did. It's Mars now."
That's the last thing you heard before the black creeping in your peripherals took over.
"Do you ever feel like you have a weight to carry?" You asked Seonghwa, gazing up at the star-dotted galaxy above, seated in a cross-legged position on top of the Millennium Falcon. "Like a burden?"
"A burden?" Seonghwa echoed. "You mean like with glorious purpose?"
You sat there for a moment before shaking your head. "No. That's not it. That's someone else." You paused, reconsidering. "Though maybe it is glorious purpose in a way." You murmured mostly to yourself. "Being Luke's only two apprentices is a huge honor, especially since there aren't many Jedi being trained anymore, but do you ever feel you're expected to be this outstanding prodigy? Like you have all these expectations to live up to?"
Seonghwa hummed thoughtfully. "No. I see it more as a goal to reach."
"But do you think it's attainable? Don't you ever worry you won't be good enough?"
"Of course I worry. Everyone does, but I don't think Luke would've chosen us if he didn't think we were capable." Seonghwa turned to you, his hand sliding over to take hold of yours and give it a squeeze. His touch was warm and brought comfort to you almost immediately, chasing away your worries. "Let's switch to a brighter subject, like lightsabers."
You raised your brows, shooting Seonghwa an unimpressed look at his pun.
"That was completely unintentional."
"Whatever you say." You teased.
"Back on the subject, when do you think Luke will let us build our lightsabers?"
"When he thinks we've earned it, I guess."
"I hope it's soon."
You nodded in agreement, turning back to the stars above, your gaze drifting to look at the distant planets surrounding Ajan Kloss.
"You know, one day we're going to be real Jedi." Seonghwa's voice broke you from your daze.
"I know. Despite the lingering worries, I'm looking forward to the day when our training is complete."
"Can you imagine? The two of us going on missions together, tag-teaming the First Order, taking down the Sith." He held his hands out in front of him, holding an imaginary lightsaber as he mimicked its noises, swinging it left and right.
His little performance made you giggle, his laid back and silly personality always bringing a smile to your face.
"Then maybe I'd do one of these." He held his hand out towards the ground below, a small rock lifting from the grass as it was flung off into the night by an invisible force.
You chuckled amusedly. "Always trying to show off those abilities, huh?"
"No." He grinned softly. "But if you and I are ever in battle and someone gets too close to you, I won't hesitate to Force choke them."
His comment jarred you a bit and you shook your head. "We don't do that."
"I know... but I'd do anything to protect you."
A small noise left the back of your throat when your eyes cracked open, your mind fuzzy as you slowly came to. Your eyelids fluttered, blurred by tears which you blinked away, eyes adjusting to the dim holding cell you'd been tossed into earlier. Bringing a hand up, you wiped the small amount of wetness away from your eyes and propped yourself up on your elbow, wincing when you felt a soreness in your neck. Your hand moved down to your throat, gingerly touching the tender skin, hissing softly at the sensation that followed.
You swallowed back tears that threatened to well up, realizing just how much Seonghwa had changed. He physically hurt you.
Not once did it occur to you that Seonghwa had crossed over to the Dark Side. There wasn't an ounce of evil in him, so it was never a possibility. You just assumed he had given up being a Jedi and went off to another planet to live a life away from the Resistance. Luke's passing hurt both of you and you wouldn't have blamed Seonghwa if he refused to be taught by anyone else.
But that's not what happened.
The Dark Side got to him... or someone.
Seonghwa's eyes watched his superior intently as he paced about the control room, his cape billowing dramatically behind him.
"Why was she here?" The maroon-haired Sith hissed angrily. "How did a Jedi sneak in here?"
"The troopers told me she arrived with someone else on a First Order ship." Seonghwa responded, his hands resting behind his back.
"They have one of our ships?" He spoke through gritted teeth, jaw tightening.
"It appears so."
"Go talk to her. Ask her what she was doing here. Do whatever it takes to get the information if she refuses to talk."
"We have people for that." Seonghwa mentioned, feeling his gut twist uncomfortably at the thought of facing you again.
"I want you to interrogate her. Do you have a problem with that, Mars?"
"No."
"Then do as I say. Interrogate her."
"Yes, Hongjoong."
You sat upright when the door to your cell groaned open, your eyes landing on Seonghwa. Your body moved on its own, scooting back on the cot to put more distance between you both. Perhaps you subconsciously feared him a little now after what he did to you.
He noticed the way you cowered a bit, but his expression remained the same, unchanging and giving away no indications of how it made him feel.
"Why are you here?" He inquired firmly, his voice carrying authority.
His question was met with complete silence. This agitated him, his jaw ticking with annoyance. "Answer me."
"I won't." The words were uttered quietly.
"Why are you here?" He asked again.
You shook your head. "I won't tell you."
Seonghwa lifted his hand and you flinched, waiting for the pressure on your throat. Instead, he lowered his arm, dropping it at his side.
"I know the Resistance sent you." He almost spat the name out in distaste. "Why?"
"You know I'm not gonna tell you."
He let out a small growl, his top lip twitching.
"You're in no position to withhold information from me."
That sparked a bit of annoyance, your almost cowardly behavior changing as you sat up straighter on the cot. "Oh yeah? What about how you withheld information from me?"
Seonghwa's brow twitched at your harsh and sharply-spoken words.
"You didn't think to tell me you were considering running away?"
"Why would I have told you?" His eyes narrowed. "It wasn't your business."
"Because I'm your friend... or at least I was. If something was bothering you, you should've told me."
"Friend?" He scoffed. "You were teacher's pet."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Don't play dumb. You were Luke's favorite. He always praised your fighting style and nitpicked mine, said I was too showy and aggressive. Well, I found a place that accepted my fighting style—accepted me."
"Luke accepted you, Seonghwa."
"Don't call me that."
"It's your name."
"Not anymore."
There was a long and heavy silence that followed and it almost felt like, in that time, you were mourning the loss of a friend.
"She what?" General Leia stared wide eyed at Poe who'd just relayed to her that you had been captured.
"They got her."
Leia sighed, lowering her head.
"She planted all the devices though." He added. "So we can listen in and see what they're up to."
She nodded. "We need to start getting a rescue team together for Y/n as soon as possible. Until we're able to bring her back, we see what information we can get from the devices she planted. Pull up the audio." She gestured towards Han Solo, who stood beside her.
He messed with the control panel in front of him, pressing buttons until voices came through.
"What do you mean she won't talk?" An angry male voice questioned.
"She won't tell me why she's here." A second male voice spoke, this one deeper than the first. "She refused."
Leia's brows twitched as she and Han shared a look, both of them finding the voice familiar.
"I told you do whatever it takes to get her to talk." The first male continued, sounding more vexed than a few moments prior.
"I—"
"Does this Jedi girl mean something to you, Mars? Are you going soft?"
"No." The response was firm and clipped.
Han reached up to rub at his scruff contemplatively, his mouth downturned in a deep frown. "I know that voice."
Leia turned to him in silent question. She also recognized the voice but couldn't quite place it.
Han sighed, dropping his hand. "It's Seonghwa."
Three days passed, or what you assumed was days. It was hard to tell. Seonghwa continuously came back to question you, sometimes multiple times a day. You refused every time, not daring to give away any information. He often became irate at your refusal and stubbornness, but he never harmed you again.
Seonghwa stood on the opposite side of your small cell, arms crossed and thick brows tugged together, that same scowl on his face.
"You were sent here by the Resistance. Why?"
"You're the one giving them information on our base, aren't you?" You responded to his question with one of your own.
Being locked away, you had time to think. And now that you knew Seonghwa was a Sith and the First Order was working on finding the Resistance base, it only made sense that your old pal was helping and possibly feeding them information.
"No." He denied firmly, his reaction almost coming across as offended that you'd assume such a thing.
"What do you mean no?"
"I haven't told them anything." He hissed through gritted teeth.
That made you pause, whatever response you had prepared died in your throat the second that sentence left his mouth.
"Why?" Was the only word uttered.
"I'm asking the questions here. Why were you sent here? Did Leia send you?"
Your expression hardened, but Seonghwa saw right through it.
He scoffed. "I knew it."
A sharp puff of air expelled from your nostrils as you mentally cursed yourself for not denying it right away. Though there's no telling if he would've believed you or not, especially if he claimed to already know.
"Why did she send you? Why were you lurking the halls?"
"I won't tell you. I'm loyal to the Resistance and I won't do anything to put them in danger."
"Of course you won't." Scoffed Seonghwa again, your answer not surprising. "How loyal of you." His words were laced with venom and mockery as he spat them out.
It made an uncomfortable knot form in your stomach, wondering what lies they fed your friend to make him so full of loathing.
Every interrogation ended with Seonghwa storming out of your cell in a fit of rage, reporting back to Hongjoong with no new information and receiving a harsh verbal assault in return. It was a repetitive pattern and one the former Jedi was growing tired of.
"It's been a week." Hongjoong hissed out, pacing the control room. "And you still have no information for me."
"She refuses to speak."
"Perhaps she needs someone more forceful."
"No!" Seonghwa took a step towards Hongjoong to block him as he attempted to exit the room. He then cleared his throat before repeating in a more stern and confident manner, "No. I have it under control."
"If you had it under control you would've tortured her until she spilled. Then I wouldn't be waiting for intel. I'll interrogate her."
Seonghwa side stepped again. "I said I have it under control." He doubled down on his words.
Hongjoong's expression hardened, his intense gaze searching Seonghwa's face for what felt like an eternity before speaking.
"Three days. If you haven't given me any useful information by then, I'm stepping in."
"Yes, Hongjoong."
The following day, Seonghwa was back in your cell, staring at you with the same stony expression. "When will you give up?"
"Never."
"Tch." He scoffed at your never-ending defiance.
"Why do you keep grilling me?"
"Because you're the prisoner here and my superior wants to know why you were sneaking around the ship like a little womp rat."
Your features twitched in mild agitation at his slightly stinging words. "How do you feel knowing your buddies are trying to track down the location of our home?"
Seonghwa scowled and crossed his arms. "It's not our home."
"It is. You still have a place there, Seonghwa."
"Quit calling me that." He hissed out through gritted teeth.
The room grew quiet and you were left to sit in complete silence for a few moments until you spoke up again with another query.
"You know where the Resistance base is. Why haven't you told them?" You asked, knowing that if he relayed that information to his superiors, the First Order would've already attacked Ajan Kloss by now.
Seonghwa stiffened almost imperceptibly and you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't focused on his body language.
"That's not my business."
"Oh but it is. It's your former home, as you claim, so wether you're willing to accept it or not, you have ties to it. If you despise the Jedi so much why haven't you exposed us?" You questioned pointedly. "Why haven't you given away our whereabouts and watched our planet get destroyed?"
It was clear he was growing indignant, his sharp brows tugging closer together, forming eleven lines between them—a sign he was provoked by your words.
"I'll be back to question you again tomorrow. You'd better be ready to give me what I want or it won't end well for you, Y/n." There was an undertone of foreboding in his words as he turned on the heel of his boot and exited the cell, his black cape billowing behind him.
He paused just outside the room, his dark eyes turning to stare at you through the gated window for a moment before he walked away.
Seonghwa paced around his room, tugging frustratingly at his hair while having an internal battle with himself. Why? Why hadn't he told Hongjoong or anyone on the ship about the Resistance base when he'd been actively watching them follow leads and attempting to track down the group? He knows the location. Not only that, but he's had multiple opportunities to divulge that he knows who you are, yet he's kept his mouth shut. He could've easily said something, so why hadn't he?
His ambivalence on the matter was making his head ache. On one hand, he had grown to loathe the Resistance with every fiber of his being and would do anything to destroy them, but on the other... no.
Seonghwa shook his head, gripping at his hair out of agitation while dropping down to sit on the edge of his bed.
"Don't be weak." He gritted out.
There is no "on the other hand". He despised the Resistance. He didn't care about anyone there.
A ghostly giggle echoed in his mind, your giggle, one he remembered from the past. Along with it came a flash of you sitting across from him with a bright smile on your face, then a fleeting image of Master Luke.
Seonghwa gave an angry shout, standing up and withdrawing his lightsaber, activating the red beam that hummed when extended fully. His shoulders heaved up and down with each labored breath while his eyes scanned the empty bedroom.
His weapon lowered. No one was there. What was he trying to fight? His past?
The lightsaber was deactivated and Seonghwa slowly sat back down on his bed, the mattress sinking under his weight. His grip on the hilt of his saber tightened as his mind wandered back to you. He had to get information out of you or Hongjoong would step in and he didn't want that.
As soon as the revelation passed his conscious mind, Seonghwa froze. Why did he care wether or not Hongjoong interrogated you? He shook his head as if to push away any notions that he still cared for you. He didn't—did he?
"Why did you have to show up, huh?" Seonghwa asked pointedly the next day while trying to interrogate you once again. It was the first question he asked when he entered your prison cell.
"I'm sorry?"
"You've just made everything more complicated!" He spat, letting his emotions run rampant.
Perplexed, baffled, caught off guard—any one of those words or phrases could've described how you felt in that moment. What did he mean?
"I was doing just fine without you." He added, the harshness in his tone unwavering.
You recoiled at his words, murmuring, "I don't understand."
"Of course you wouldn't."
"What are you talking about?"
"This is your fault!" He pointed an accusatory finger at you.
Your wide eyes locked on the tip of his index finger that was directed at you.
"What's my fault? Seonghwa, I—"
He let out a raging shout that reverberated on the metal walls. "There you go again! Just stop!" He dropped his head, gripping handfuls of inky hair, letting out strained sounds through his teeth. His inner turmoil was showing through his aggressive responses and bouts of fury.
"Talk to me." Your gentle words reached Seonghwa's ears, striking him directly in the chest.
Instead of being snippy with your words, you toned it down, especially after witnessing his display of stress. It didn't matter if he was a Sith. That fact didn't erase any of the memories you shared together and you still thought of him as a friend—or at the very least, a friend that could be redeemed.
The kindness in your voice touched Seonghwa, but at the same time it was making things worse for him, leaving him torn between two opposing emotions.
"I left that life behind." He said, his head still buried in his hands. "Seeing you just... stirred things up."
Ever so slowly, you got up off the cot and took a few tentative steps towards him. He didn't realize you were approaching, too caught up in his own emotions. It was only when he felt your hand gently touch his shoulder that he flinched, raising his head.
"Why'd you leave? What happened?" You asked.
"I was upset." He sighed. "I tried to get my anger out by blowing off steam in the training room but that wasn't enough. So I stole a junky ship and took it out to a nearby planet just to get away from everything for a bit." His eyes showed just how much he was struggling as he spoke.
"Go on." You urged him. "I know you might not think so, but you're still my friend."
His eyes met yours, a flicker of warmth growing in his chest and giving him that little push to continue. "I was walking through a little town trying to clear my head when Hongjoong approached me."
"Who's Hongjoong?"
"My superior." He ran a hand through his long messy hair. "He knew right away that I was a Jedi. He took me into a nearby tavern and bought me a drink. We talked. I told him about Master Luke and how it was frustrating sometimes because I felt as if I wasn't enough. He was so... sympathetic. He made me feel important and told me he would be a better teacher than Luke and that I had untapped potential—that I had purpose Luke didn't see."
"He got to you while you were vulnerable." You stated, shaking your head. "He got into your head, Seonghwa."
"No." His brows creased, eyes narrowing as he responded in a stern manner, jerking away from your hand on his shoulder. "He didn't. When he took me in I was able to fight the way I wanted. I got stronger when Hongjoong trained me."
You shook your head. "He manipulated you."
"He didn't." Seonghwa denied firmly. "Because of him, I realized my purpose."
Your expression fell into one of pity and sorrow as you shook your head, realizing just how badly this Hongjoong guy had warped your old friend's way of thinking.
"I shouldn't expect you to understand." Seonghwa remarked bitterly. "You're a narrow-minded Jedi."
His words hurt, punching you directly in the chest. You really thought you were getting somewhere with him.
"This was a mistake." He grumbled, turning to leave. He let himself get too vulnerable.
"Seong—" The cell door slammed shut, making you wince. "...hwa."
Heaving a sigh, you slumped back against the wall in defeat. You almost caught a glimpse of the old Seonghwa. He was opening up, but he still believed Hongjoong was the good guy in this situation. The hold he had on Seonghwa was too strong and you needed to break it.
The Sith's footsteps were heavy, each thump from his boots echoing down the corridor while a violent storm of thoughts swirled around his head. You were so sweet and genuine, it almost reminded him of how things used to be. And that gentle touch of your hand on his shoulder sparked something.
You're getting weak. He could practically hear Hongjoong. Are you really going to let her get to you with all that mushy stuff?
"No."
Seems that way.
Seonghwa's jaw tightened as if this were all happening in real life.
"I said no."
You're still in love with her, Mars.
"I'm not."
He passed by a couple stormtroopers standing guard on that particular cell block, their heads following the Sith as he passed, muttering to himself.
"What are you looking at?" He snarled at the staring pair, his hand raising as a threat to use his Force abilities on them.
"Nothing." They shook their heads frantically.
"Thought so." He spat, continuing down the corridor.
That night was a sleepless one for Seonghwa. He tossed and turned for what was probably hours, unable to even doze off. Tossing back his black sheets, he swung his legs off the bed, letting out a forceful sigh. You really messed with his head... and his heart. He could still feel the way you laid your hand so gingerly upon his shoulder.
He got to his feet and shuffled over to a wooden chest at the foot of his bed, opening the lid and reaching inside, producing your lightsaber from it. After he had you taken away, he picked up the saber and had been keeping it in his bedroom, unable to hand it over to the seized weapons department for some reason. He gazed down almost wistfully at the silver hilt adorned with unique engravings. His thumb absentmindedly traced over the patterns engrained into the metal while his mind wandered back to a memory that had long been locked away.
"Place the energy core near the kyber crystal." Luke instructed, watching you and Seonghwa.
The components of your lightsabers were scattered along the work table as each of you focused on building your respective weapons, listening to each step you were given.
"Next is the focusing ring. Make sure it's calibrated just right or—"
"Or the kyber crysal will crack." You and Seonghwa finished in unison, chuckling in amusement at the situation.
"Yes, or your sabers could explode when you activate them." Luke added.
The pieces were put into place and you moved on to the next step, adding each component until the assembly was complete. Next came the cosmetic aspects of the process, the step that would give your lightsabers their unique appearances.
The both of you were taught how to customize your weapons with Luke by your side to assist when needed. This ritual of sorts meant a lot to you and Seonghwa, as it was a rite of passage, a symbol that you had grown as Jedi.
"I hope my lightsaber is blue." Seonghwa murmured once the assembly was complete, always having favored that color.
"There's only one way to find out." You placed your thumb on the power button of your saber and counted down before activating your respective weapons.
Just as Seonghwa had hoped, a blue beam extended from his hilt and his eyes went wide with excitement. He then turned to look at your humming blade that glowed a unique purple.
"Not many people have that color." He gaped.
Your round eyes stared at the stunning beam in awe, unable to believe that the weapon you wielded was yours.
Seonghwa felt the same, gaping at his own lightsaber, feeling it's weight and ogling at the shiny chrome silver metal of the hilt.
"I'm glad I got to do this with you." You turned and smiled fondly at Seonghwa, your eyes glimmering with unadulterated joy.
He returned that warm grin. "Me too."
A single tear dropped onto the handle of your lightsaber, stirring Seonghwa from his nostalgic daze. He blinked away some of the moisture in his eyes before wiping them, not realizing he had started crying.
He still cared for you.
He still loved you.
Today. Seonghwa had to get answers today or Hongjoong would step in and take matters into his own hands. He decided last night when he couldn't sleep that he didn't want that to happen and he would do whatever it took to get the necessary information out of you.
"How many days has it been?" You asked when you heard the door groan open, your back facing it.
"Ten." Seonghwa responded, standing just inside the room as he'd been doing since day one. "I'm asking again, why were you on the ship? Why were you sent here?"
You rolled over, your expression weary. "So we're back to this?"
Seonghwa didn't answer, his expression showing hardly any emotion. He was there with a task to complete.
"Tell me." He wasn't demanding or hateful, but there was a tinge of urgency in his tone.
You sat up, pushing back your hair with a sigh. "Can we just drop this for a second?"
He appeared unsure, but let out a reluctant exhale and moved across the small space to sit beside you on the bed. It was the first time he'd done so since you were locked away.
"I missed you, y'know." You didn't care if he believed you or not. You had to let him know.
His gaze lifted to meet yours, his eyes becoming round just like your memories recalled.
"It hurt me when you disappeared. I had just lost Master Luke and then I lost you not long after. It crushed me." Your voice was thick with emotion as you spoke. "I always wondered where you were. I worried about you. I lost sleep over you. I never once thought you'd turn to the Dark Side."
"Neither did I, but I fit well here."
"No you don't. That Hongjoong guy got to you while you were vulnerable and took advantage of your weak state. He got in your head and made you feel special. He doesn't care about you like he says he does."
"And how would you know?"
"Because he's a Sith and they're known for being conniving and manipulative."
Seonghwa became quiet, not fully believing your words about Hongjoong being disingenuous, but feeling as if he shouldn't carelessly disregard them either. Despite that, a sense of urgency to defend his superior rose up within him. "Hongjoong was there for me and picked me up when I was at my lowest."
"I could have done that. I would have done that if you hadn't left."
Seonghwa's jaw tightened as an uncomfortable ache became present in his chest. Perhaps guilt?
"I loved you, Seonghwa."
Those next words were a punch directly to the gut, the breath feeling like it was knocked out of him. You loved him? For how long?
He swallowed thickly, his breathing shaky. "Why did Leia send you here? To collect information? To spy?" Again, his tone wasn't demanding, but it was stern.
It hurt not having him respond to your admission, but instead of letting it get to you, you pushed aside your feelings and looked him in the eye. "I won't betray the Resistance. You can keep me here as long as you see fit, but I won't say a word."
It was obvious you didn't realize the magnitude of the situation, but Seonghwa remained somewhat calm, hoping a more gentle approach would coax it out of you.
"You don't trust me anymore?"
"No." Your response was swift. "I don't. You're the enemy now."
"But you said you still saw me as a friend."
"There's exceptions to that statement."
He was getting nowhere with you yet again. However, you did open up about how you felt when he ran away so perhaps there was hope.
"Fine." He stood up and left without another word, hoping to get more time to interrogate.
Hongjoong was discussing something with one of the navigators on the ship when Seonghwa approached. "Ah, Mars." He strode towards his apprentice. "I hope you have good news for me."
"I'm getting through to her."
The redhead's expression fell into one of disappointment and annoyance. "So you haven't got any information out of her?"
"I'm trying to. I've taken a different approach and she's coming around."
"But you still haven't got any information out of her." He stated factually.
"No, not yet. I just need one more d—"
Hongjoong's jaw tightened and he held his hand up, Seonghwa's breath hitching as he was forced aside, the invisible pressure around his throat increasing.
"Three days, I said."
"I... know." Seonghwa choked out.
"I gave you three days and you still have absolutely nothing. You're useless, Mars." He spat out.
Seonghwa gasped for air, his booted feet slipping along the flooring while he was being held slightly off the ground.
Hongjoong released his invisible grip on Seonghwa who fell to his knees, leaned over his hands which were planted on the floor as he took in ragged breaths.
Looking around, he saw some of the control room staff turned in their seats staring at him as he lie crumpled and weak on the floor. Meanwhile, Hongjoong was talking to a stormtrooper as if he hadn't Force strangled his apprentice. In that moment, as he was struggling to bring air back into his lungs he realized you were right. Hongjoong didn't care about him.
You're useless, Mars. The words echoed in his mind on repeat.
"Take me to her cell." Hongjoong's voice reached Seonghwa's ears, causing him to lift his head. "If you want things to get done you have to do them yourself." He complained to the trooper, taking a glance back at Seonghwa with a demeaning expression.
"Wait!" He coughed.
The maroon-haired Sith paused and turned to look down at Seonghwa who was just managing to get to his feet.
"You said three days. The day isn't over yet." He spoke hoarsely, but kept a steady tone so as not to give away how his lungs burned.
"Alright. I want results by the end of the day."
The door to your cell opened up and to your surprise, it was Seonghwa again. He sometimes showed up multiple times a day to interrogate you, but never this quickly. It had only been about ten minutes since he left.
He was rubbing at his throat with a gloved hand, his eyes looking frantic.
Something was wrong.
"Seonghwa?"
"Look, I need you to give me a reason as to why you were sent." There was that sense of urgency in his tone again, more obvious than earlier. And he didn't even snap at you for calling him by his real name.
"What happened?"
"Things won't be good for you if you don't cooperate." He ignored your question and you noticed how scratchy his voice sounded.
It wasn't hard to put two and two together.
"He hurt you."
Seonghwa stiffened and you knew your assumption was correct.
"You have to tell me, Y/n." His gaze turned serious and the desperation in his tone rose. "If you don't..." He hesitated to continue, but did so anyway. "Hongjoong is going to interrogate you instead and he won't be gentle or kind."
You'd known Seonghwa since you were kids and could tell when he was worried, but this wasn't worry—this was fear. All this time you'd refused to speak and all it took for you to crack was for Seonghwa to be in distress.
"I was planting listening devices." You caved, spilling almost immediately.
"Where?"
"In the West corridor near the hangar, in a meeting room, and in the control room where the ship is piloted."
His eyes met yours, turmoil and concern swirling around his brown irises. "I'm sorry it had to be like this."
And that was the last thing he said before turning away and leaving.
"I have news." Seonghwa announced, entering the control room.
Hongjoong turned towards him, an expectant look on his face.
"She cracked."
"It's about time."
"The Resistance base is on Takodana."
"Takodana?" Hongjoong repeated, raising a brow. "She told you that?"
"Yes."
"It's not the information I asked for."
"But it's helpful to us. It's what we've been working towards for weeks." Seonghwa mentioned.
"That's true." Hongjoong gazed out at the vast galaxy.
"Who cares why she was on the ship? We have their location."
Hongjoong nodded, murmuring, "Takodana, huh? Why didn't I think of that? It's a forest planet; the perfect place to go off the grid."
"Exactly."
Hongjoong snapped his fingers, beckoning the First Order's battle coordinator over. "I want you to send a fleet to Takadona right away." He ordered.
"Yes, sir." The man nodded before marching off.
Hongjoong passed Seonghwa, stopping long enough to say, "Maybe you can be useful after all."
His watchful eyes followed the redhead until he left the room before he made any moves of his own, exiting the control area and heading directly for the meeting room.
There was only one room on the ship used for meetings and Seonghwa knew exactly where it was.
Slipping into the empty meeting room, he surveyed the area, checking in crevices and corners before peeking underneath the large circular table in the middle of the area. Sure enough, there was a small device no bigger than the tip of his finger under the edge of the table. Stepping away, he began pacing around, mulling over the gravity of what he was about to do. Taking in a deep breath, Seonghwa prepared himself for what he was about to say, knowing it would change everything.
"I don't know who's listening to this but I need your help. It's me..." He hesitated. "Seonghwa. I don't have time to explain everything but I've just told my superior the Resistance base is on Takodana. They're sending a fleet of troopers that way immediately. Reinforcements here will be low. I need you guys to come and get Y/n out of here." He paused before adding. "Get us out of here. I'm ready to come home."
With a call for help sent out and no time to waste, he could only hope someone was listening as he left the room and put his plan into motion.
He didn't greet you or say a single word when he stepped back into your cell, grabbing your hands and holding them behind your back.
"Come here."
You yelped as you were jerked to your feet.
"Seonghwa? What's going on?" You panicked, wiggling in his hold.
"Be quiet." He hissed, shoving you out the door and down the cell block corridor, stormtroopers watching as he passed.
One of them blocked the way. "What are you doing with her?"
"We've obtained the information we need. She's of no use to us anymore." He responded coldly to the trooper's inquiry.
Every part of your body ran cold upon hearing that and you started writhing even more.
"No! No! Please don't do this!" You cried out.
"I said be quiet!" Seonghwa jerked you harshly before pushing you down the halls once more.
Your breathing was erratic, your hands cold and clammy. Were you really going to die by the hands of your old friend?
Not a single word was spoken while you were guided through the maze that was the First Order ship, awaiting your demise. You were brought to a room and shoved inside, Seonghwa releasing your wrists and caging you against the wall before you could even process it.
"You don't know what you're doing." You spoke shakily. "Please don't kill me. I—"
Seonghwa's lips pressed firmly against yours, effectively cutting off your sentence. A small noise left the back of your throat, your hands pressing against his chest as you fought to keep your eyes from fluttering shut.
He pulled away shortly with a heavy exhale and half-lidded eyes that gazed at you with longing.
"I love you too, Y/n."
Your heart leapt into your throat as he verbally returned your feelings.
"You're... you're not gonna kill me?"
"What? No." He shook his head. "That was just so I didn't raise any suspicions. We're getting out of here."
"We are?" You uttered so quietly you barely heard yourself.
"Yes. This isn't the life for me, Y/n. I miss the Resistance. I miss you. Maybe I was a weak Sith—or maybe my love for you was stronger than the hold of the Dark Side."
"Seonghwa." Taking the sides of his face, you pulled him to your lips, kissing him deeply, this time letting your eyelids slide shut while relishing in the warmth of his mouth.
When you pulled away, he had to blink himself out of the little daze he was in.
"Wow."
"We'd better get out of here alive." You said.
"We will. Just play along."
You nodded. "Got it."
He took your wrists and held them behind your back again to keep up the facade and led you out of the room, back into the ship's corridor. He didn't know how quickly a rescue team could get out there, but if no one had arrived by the time he made it to the hangar, Seonghwa would hijack a ship and get you both out himself.
Your eyes scanned the halls, attempting to look pitiful and helpless when passing stormtroopers or staff. On the inside, however, you were elated that Seonghwa returned your feelings and decided to return to Ajan Kloss with you. Though there was the lingering anxiety of needing to get out safely first. You were still in enemy territory—you both were.
The two of you rounded a corner, nearly running into a man with maroon hair that you didn't recognize, you and Seonghwa taking a few steps back. There was an intimidating  aura about the stranger that made you nervous just by looking at him. His eyes narrowed and he turned to your partner.
"This is the Jedi that snuck onto the ship. Why is she out of her cell, Mars? I didn't approve of this."
"We've got the information we need. I'm disposing of her."
You assumed this was the Hongjoong guy you'd been told about and was quick to lower your gaze to the floor, trying to appear non-threatening.
"And why would you dispose of her?"
As they exchanged words, Seonghwa could tell he wouldn't be able to pull this one off. Hongjoong was asking too many questions and wondering why Seonghwa was making decisions on his own without consulting him first.
You too were feeling as if things were about to go south and began worrying about how to defend yourself. It was at that moment you felt something cool being pressed into your palm that was behind your back. Your fingers curled around the object and realized it was a lightsaber—your lightsaber.
"What's really going on here?" Hongjoong inquired. "You've been odd since this little Jedi showed up." He regarded you with a curt jerk of his head, not bothering to look your way.
"I already told you, I'm disposing of her."
"See..." Hongjoong's hand imperceptibly inched towards his lightsaber at his hip. "I just don't think I believe you."
Your eyes widened and you were quick to reveal your lightsaber, activating the purple beam that hummed to life just as Hongjoong withdrew his own weapon. Seonghwa was holding out his lightsaber as well, ready to fight by your side.
"Ah." Sardonic amusement flickered across Hongjoong's features at the sight of his apprentice. "I see. You've switched sides."
Seonghwa's expression hardened and he pointed the end of his red lightsaber at the man. "I'm not afraid to fight you."
"Well you should be." Hongjoong spoke roughly before stepping forward and taking a swipe at both of you.
Leaping back, you two dodged his attack, retaliating with some of your own, both of you swinging your weapons at the Sith who was able to block every single one. You attempted to take a jab at him, but his red beam came up underneath your purple one and pushed it away, making you stumble at the physical force behind the action. He twisted his upper body and held his saber up to block an attack from Seonghwa that followed after yours.
It was clear this man was well-trained and even though he was outnumbered, he was managing to fight both you and Seonghwa without much of a struggle. Taking a step back to put some space between you and the enemy, you continued fighting back.
As soon as he saw an opening, Seonghwa took hold of your wrist. "Come on." He hissed urgently and tugged you down the ship's dim corridors in the opposite direction, fleeing the area.
"You're running away like a coward, Mars!" Hongjoong shouted after him.
"Where are we going?" You asked, pushing past a stormtrooper that stood in the way.
"Get them!" Hongjoong roared in the distance.
"Somewhere away from him." Seonghwa responded, keeping a tight hold on your wrist while guiding you through the steel and metal maze.
While your first priority was to survive, questions started piling up. Questions like: Would you survive? Would you even make it off the ship? Would you ever get back home?
"Here." You were snapped out of your daze by Seonghwa's voice as you were pulled into an open space, a grated walkway stretching across an endless canyon.
Unable to see the bottom of the foggy abyss below, your heart rate spiked.
"Hey, it's alright. Just stay close." Seonghwa gave your hand a reassuring squeeze, hurrying across the bridge. "We can still make it to the hangar from here."
"There you are."
You both froze at the sound of Hongjoong's voice, spinning around to face him as he approached with an intense and almost psychotic look in his sharp eyes.
"Stay back." Seonghwa was quick to push you behind him and rush forward to engage in battle with his ex mentor. You leaned against the railing of the grated walkway, looking on with wide eyes.
Seonghwa let out a grunt when Hongjoong's saber clashed with his, pushing against it. With clenched teeth and trembling hands, he shoved back and managed to get Hongjoong off of him. The Sith let out a low sound of disproval and swung once more, relentlessly attacking Seonghwa and giving him no time to fight back. All he could do was block and guard himself from the onslaught. You couldn't stand watching the battle persist without you. There was no telling how long Seonghwa could maintain his defenses until he was worn out. With no one to watch his back or help take the pressure off, you feared he wouldn't make it out of the fight unscathed.
"What happened? You used to beat me all the time during our practice battles." Hongjoong talked down to Seonghwa in a derisive tone.
The ex Sith let out a low noise from the back of his throat while taking a swing at the redhead who merely leaned back to avoid the humming beam of light.
"You're weakened already." He remarked snidely. "Do you really want to go back to being a spineless Jedi?"
Instead of responding, Seonghwa narrowed his eyes and took another swing at Hongjoong only for him to dodge again.
"You belong here."
"I don't!" He snapped. "I never did."
"I took you in."
"You took advantage of me!"
"And you became a powerful Sith because of it. So you should be thanking me."
"Thanking you?" Scoffed Seonghwa. "For what? Turning me into an evil monster?"
Hongjoong let out a huff of amusement. "For showing you your true potential, Mars. So tell me, are you with me or against me?"
"My name is Seonghwa." He grit out through his teeth.
"Very well. Chitchat is over." Hongjoong used his foot to kick Seonghwa back, his body colliding with the steel flooring of the bridge. A grunt was forced out of him, his deactivated lightsaber now lying by Hongjoong's foot.
"You don't need this anymore." He said, kicking the weapon off the side of the walkway and into the abyss below.
"No. Stop!" You shouted, rushing towards the two, unable to stand by any longer. You didn't care if Seonghwa told you to stay back, he needed your help.
Hongjoong held up his free hand, a powerful force pushing you back so vigorously you were sent through the air. You yelped, landing roughly on the grates as your lightsaber skidded across the platform. The breath was knocked out of you during impact, your throat and lungs attempting to work correctly again while you gasped for air.
"This is what happens when you betray me, Mars." Hongjoong spoke in an eery singsong voice.
Your eyes widened as he moved to stand over Seonghwa, lightsaber positioned and ready to strike. A sudden burst of energy and determination hit you as well as a wave of burning hatred towards the maroon-haired Sith, fueling your need to protect Seonghwa.
Your hand shot out towards your deactivated weapon, wheezing and coughing as you focused your energy. The saber shot from its position at the edge of the bridge and straight into your palm. Gripping the hilt of the lightsaber, you got to your feet and rushed over.
"This is the end for you." Hongjoong reared back and went to swing his glowing blade down on Seonghwa. As he did so, your purple beam was thrust forward, blocking his before it could even get close to doing any damage.
"What?" Hongjoong hissed out, his eyes drifting up to meet yours that burned with rage.
"I don't think so." You spoke lowly, pushing upwards and using your lightsaber to shove his away.
Seonghwa stared up at you in both shock and awe, using the opportunity to scramble back out of the crossfire as you went after Hongjoong with vigor.
"Do. Not. Come. Near. Him." You spat out between attacks, punctuating your words with each clash of your blades.
"Oh. Well, this is certainly interesting." Hongjoong chuckled over the sounds of battle.
Your lightsabers made that familiar electric sound as they collided, swinging in every direction possible. Any time you saw an opening, you went for it, even if Hongjoong blocked. There was no pattern to your attacks, just endless swipes and vicious swings.
"You took him away from me!" You raged, slinging your lightsaber at him while he struggled to fight back. "Three years!"
He stumbled while trying to back away, blocking your relentless hits.
A flicker of panic flashed across Hongjoong's face as you continued to shout at him and deliver swing after swing. Up until that point, he had defended himself and didn't show an ounce of fear. Clearly, he wasn't expecting you to go into a blind rage, but seeing him preparing to end Seonghwa's life kicked you into gear.
Your saber came at him from the side, which he deflected, but you didn't care, redirecting and taking a different approach. He hissed when you managed to swipe at his arm, tearing the fabric of his sleeve and slicing his skin underneath.
"Look at you trying to defend your boyfriend. Such mindless violence. You would've made a good Sith." Hongjoong grunted out while trying to provoke you despite the fact that you clearly had the upper hand.
"Shut up." You grit out, slinging the purple beam you wielded at his leg, causing him to yelp in pain, pressing his free hand to his calf where the fresh cut was.
"I'm impressed." He panted heavily, looking up at you. "You're putting up quite the fight."
He tightened his hold on his lightsaber as your eyes narrowed. The humming beam in his grip came barreling towards you, making you jump back. He gave you no time to retaliate, coming at you again. At the last second, you held your hand out, fingers outstretched as his weapon came to a stop in midair just a few inches from you. The heat radiating from the blazing light brushed your palm, but it wasn't enough to deter you. Hongjoong's cocky expression fell, his eyes darting between you and your hand which was keeping his lightsaber in place. He pushed down, trying to complete his action, his brows pulling together at the effort and exertion. Your hardened gaze stayed locked on the Sith as you moved your open hand forward, forcing the beam further away until you pushed it aside. He stumbled back, releasing a low guttural sound from the back of his throat.
"Not bad... for a Jedi."
Your jaw tightened at his backhanded comment. "You talk too much."
Blinded by anger, your free hand shot out, using the Force to launch him backwards across the bridge and all the way into the halls of the ship where he landed harshly against a wall. He winced upon impact, sliding down and crumpling on the floor in a heap.
The adrenaline coursing through you slowly started to wear off, your shoulders heaving up and down with each breath.
"I thought Jedi didn't Force choke?" Seonghwa asked amusedly from behind you while getting to his feet, referring back to something you said to him years ago.
"That was a Force push. There's a difference." You remarked with a small grin, deactivating your lightsaber and sliding it into its holster.
"That was... kinda hot."
You turned to him as he came to stand by your side, a hint of a smirk playing at your lips. "Was it?"
"It was." He confirmed, taking your hand. "Now let's get out of here."
The both of you hurried across the grated walkway and past Hongjoong's unconscious form, heading back the way you came, your footsteps thumping against the metal floors.
"Hongjoong ordered a fleet of ships to Takodana." Seonghwa mentioned while you moved down the halls. "There won't be as many reinforcements here, so we should be able to make it to the hangar without too much trouble."
"Takodana?" You echoed confusedly.
"I told him that's where the Resistance base was."
A fluttery feeling blossomed in your chest. He lied to his mentor to protect the Resistance members.
"Thank you."
He gave you a small smile, squeezing your hand. "You're welcome."
After turning a corner, you were met with a cluster of stormtroopers that jumped into action and began blasting at both of you the moment you were spotted.
Seonghwa grabbed you, tugging you around the corner and out of the line of fire.
"Well, this is a problem." You breathed out heavily. "We're outnumbered and you don't have a weapon."
"Yeah. Though we might be able to make it if we make a run for it and do our best to dodge. Their aim is horrible anyway."
"Not if we're close enough to shoot." You pointed out.
While you and Seonghwa were strategizing, the thud of something heavy falling to the floor came from where the stormtroopers were, followed by another thud and another. Preceding each thump was the sound of a blaster of some sort, but it was different than that of a trooper. The rap of footsteps heading your way made you both tense up and prepare to defend yourselves until a familiar face rounded the corner.
"Someone call a rescue team?" Han Solo asked with a grin.
"Han." You let out a mix between a laugh and a sigh of relief. "How did you know we needed help?"
"Seonghwa told us using one of the listening devices you planted."
"You heard me?" He asked, relieved that his call for help didn't fall on deaf ears.
"We were listening the whole time. We had a team of Resistance members monitoring the audio at all times." Han responded. "Now let's get you two outta here."
He beckoned you both forward, bringing you around the corner to find stormtroopers scattered about on the floor, each of them sporting one or more holes in their chests, their armor marred by burn marks.
"You took them all out by yourself?" You asked, stepping over one of the bodies.
"I've had lots of practice, kid." Han responded, moving on down the corridor.
The three of you jogged through the halls, proceeding quickly while sweeping the area. Your escape wasn't an easy one as more stormtroopers came up from the opposite direction, blocking the way.
"Stop right there!" One of them shouted, holding his blaster.
Han Solo pointed his own gun at the group of armor-clad troopers while you activated your lightsaber again. When they saw you were going to put up a fight, an onslaught of red plasma blasts blurred past. You moved in, ducking and dodging shots while taking a swing at the nearest stormtrooper's legs. He shouted in pain and fell to the ground, giving Han an opportunity to take him down while he was vulnerable.
Seonghwa, weaponless, used his Force abilities to push away the troopers that got too close, shoving them into one another. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stop them.
"Hey, kid!" Han Solo called out to Seonghwa. "Thought you might need this so I brought it just in case." His glossy chrome lightsaber was tossed over. "Found it in Y/n's room."
Seonghwa's eyes widened, looking at you with surprise. You were about to ask Han why he was even in your room to start with, but Seonghwa spoke before you could.
"You kept my lightsaber in your room?"
Your cheeks were set aflame at his question before you shot one back at him without thinking. "Where were you keeping mine, huh?"
Now it was Seonghwa's turn to become flustered, his ears turning red.
Oh.
"Now's not the time for all this." Han spoke gruffly, using his blaster to hit a stormtrooper.
"Sorry." You and Seonghwa spoke in unison, his blue lightsaber activating.
A smile that couldn't be suppressed no matter how hard you tried spread across your face, a wave of nostalgia and joy filling you at the sight of him. It was just like old times.
Seonghwa lunged forward with a shout, you following behind with renewed vigor as you both went at the stormtroopers, knocking their blasters out of their hands and swinging your sabers, slicing through their armor easily. Any troopers you or Seonghwa didn't get were swiftly shot down by Han.
"I think that's all of them." You huffed out.
"Well then let's get out of here before more show up." Han Solo nodded with his head, urging you and Seonghwa forward.
Much to your relief, the three of you made it to the hangar where thankfully no stormtroopers were lingering about. Your feet moved faster, following behind Han to the opening of the hangar, looking around for his ship.
"Where's—"
His loud whistling cut you off as he waved his arm in the air, signaling something out in space. Seconds later, the Millennium Falcon came flying around the back of the First Order vessel.
"Step back." Han ordered as the Falcon eased into the hangar, the loading ramp extending from the bottom. "Come on, come on." He ushered you and Seonghwa up into the ship where you both followed him to the cockpit where Chewie was manning the controls.
Chewbacca stood up so Han could take his place, a joyous noise leaving him when he saw Seonghwa standing there beside you. He was immediately pulled into a big hug by the Wookie who was elated at the long-awaited reunion.
"I missed you too." Seonghwa chuckled, patting Chewbacca's back.
You too were pulled into a tight embrace, laughter bubbling up out of you.
"It's good to see you, big guy." You told Chewie, pulling away.
"Alright everyone, buckle up and hold tight. We're getting the heck outta here." Han Solo said.
Seonghwa's return to Ajan Kloss was a momentous occasion; he was welcomed back with open arms and firm handshakes, but not from Leia. From Leia, he received a suffocatingly tight hug.
"We're happy to have you back." She murmured tearfully, smiling up at Seonghwa. "And thank you for your distress call. Han insisted on being the one to bring you two back."
"Really?" You asked.
"Yes. We were getting a rescue plan together but it wasn't ready to be executed. As soon as we heard the call for help, Han started prepping to leave right away."
"Y/n, you're alive!"
You turned to see Poe walking over with Finn following behind.
"No thanks to you." You teased, giving him a hug.
"Hey now, I came right back here and told everyone you'd been captured." He defended lightheartedly, his eyes drifting to your friend standing beside you. "Ah. You must be Seonghwa! This girl right here talks about you nonstop. I wish I knew where Seonghwa was. I hope Seonghwa comes back. You would've liked Seonghwa. I hope we find—"
"Okay." Finn came up, chuckling awkwardly and grabbing Poe by the shoulders, slowly pulling him away. "That's enough out of you."
To celebrate your rescue and Seonghwa's return, the droids and cooks prepared a massive meal for the camp. The both of you stuck around the tent for a while to chat with Resistance members before deciding to go off somewhere for a little privacy. And that place was atop the Millennium Falcon.
"I missed the food here." You sighed fondly, rubbing your stomach. "The meals I was given on the First Order ship weren't great... no offense."
"None taken." Chuckled Seonghwa. "It was subpar at best. Even when I was a Sith I missed the food here."
You laughed softly, gazing up at the stars like you'd done years ago, seated with your legs crossed. When you turned back, Seonghwa was looking at you and had leaned in closer.
"This is nice." He murmured softly.
"What is?"
"Being up here with you."
Fighting back a smile, you responded. "And why's that?"
"Because I can finally give you a proper kiss."
He leaned in and placed his lips gently on yours, tentatively at first. Your eyelids fluttered shut and you allowed yourself to get lost in the moment now that you were both home and safe. His hand slid around to cup the nape of your neck, guiding you to lie back while his lips slowly danced over yours, making you melt. Once you laid down, he leaned over you and depended the kiss by tilting his head and picking up the pace. A mix between a soft sigh and a hum left you, your hands moving up to run through his long locks.
"I love your hair like this." You murmured against his lips.
"Yeah? You like it longer?"
"I do." You brushed your digits through it, making his eyelids flutter, a low noise leaving him before he dove back in for a passionate kiss that took your breath away. His hand that wasn't cradling the nape of your neck slid down your side to feel your curves through the fabric of your gray tunic.
Your fingers gripped at his inky hair, making him groan against your mouth, sending a flurry of butterflies to your stomach. His pillowy lips captured your bottom one, surrounding it in warmth before he encompassed your mouth wholly with his and making your head spin in the process.
When he pulled away, you were both panting shallowly, looking at each other with half-lidded eyes that were glazed over with adoration and longing for one another. It was a picture perfect moment; you and the man you loved lying under the stars together, reunited at last.
"I love you." Seonghwa murmured reverently, caressing your cheek tenderly with his thumb as you both gazed at one another lovingly.
You smiled softly at him before responding, "I know."

this one was interesting and actually not esp silly or weird ! I mean it's still overthinking and stupid but lgfjlsagflf anyway sorry massive text blocks ahead…
so these are obv two boys who are basically ready to put this weekend behind them and they've kind of already checked out. and while everything Andrea said was fair and true, you can see Oscar's jaw working as Andrea clearly built up to discussing his racing difficulties. there's this little moment where Lando glances at Oscar out of the corner of his eye when Andrea says "I think Oscar experienced some of these difficulties" that's so subtle but is like wow, Andrea rarely comes down on Oscar like this! he sucks in a big breath and grits his teeth and nods curtly in kind of a okay okay that's enough ntm on my boy Osco he's already beating himself up !!
Tumblr media
Andrea then gives them their dues for putting both cars in the points … but then !! Papa makes the choice to bring up how this race was Lando's to win and it didn't happen !!
Tumblr media
and first Oscar's head whips up and a tendon in his neck literally jumps and you can see his chest swell up - he literally looks indignant on Lando's behalf! Lando looks a little hurt at first but then he grimaces and concedes. but like. the fact that Oscar - who a lot of us could argue Andrea has taken Oscar under his wing as a boy who arrived at a McLaren that was already Lando's home and family - was the one to have that intense reaction to Andrea's criticism is because it's about Lando! Oscar literally bites his lips bc okay let's ease off no need to belabor the point Dad!
and that's just how Andrea intended it !!
in Imola last year after the coming together in the pit lane, Andrea responded by immediately being firm parent and even a little bad cop! truth was that the incident wasn't even a straight up 'battle' between Lando and Oscar but Andrea saw an opportunity to not only extinguish any petty rivalry but also to bond his two drivers together against mean old Dad. he made it clear that there would be no 'both sides' when it came to the two cars and that because both of them would be equally punished/scolded, there would be no point in future for them to try for preferential treatment. he made himself the common enemy (so to speak bc they adore him) so that they wouldn't be each other's!
now, yes a mention does have to be made that Oscar is unusually mature and genuinely respects Lando's experience and position - and genuinely likes him as a person! he was never going to be the type of teammate to cause unnecessary friction. but he's also partnered with a guy basically the same age but at a much more advanced stage in his career and like. it's never not amazing how he resets himself and can be genuinely happy for Lando's successes while he himself is without a trophy and blends into the team.
but Andrea saw all of that and rather than just hope that Oscar's good will and kind nature holds against his natural competitiveness and the even more natural urgency all young F1 drivers have of trying to keep their seat, he's made sure to lift Oscar up when no one else does BUT ALSO to make it clear that Lando is not some untouchable golden boy and that with Lando's added experience comes added expectation! Andrea instills equity, even when it means he has to play bad guy for a moment!
he'd much rather the boys go away grumbling together and feeling bonded over wounded pride than have them see him as a buddy and nice guy the way they do with Zak. Zak gets to be the fun uncle. Andrea has to be the parent!
and when it's Oscar's turn to speak he reiterates Andrea's comments about the difficulties (but stands up tall enough that Lando has to look up to see him) and says he and his team will do the work to learn from what went wrong!
Tumblr media
him giving props to Lando for showing just what the car can do and Lando ducking his head and making himself busy cleaning the plate of his trophy <3<3
Tumblr media
"thanks Osco" in that snuffly stuffy little voice ;__;
Tumblr media
bc it makes them both smile !! and even though Lando makes sure to be the brighter/lighter side he does the same as Oscar and reiterates what Andrea said - !! I love that the reverse psychology worked bc Lando went from looking downright moody and grumpy after parc ferme to saying that they did in fact do a great job today !! and he says it while looking right at Papa bc he wants Papa to agree!!
Tumblr media
and Andrea does that stern slightly grudging but fair nod in reply. Lando's peppy little "I'm now very disappointed with a second place!" with Oscar smiling and you can feel the mood lift off him and Oscar!
Tumblr media
Lando felt so confident in fact that he actually remembered where they're racing next week and didn't need Oscar's help :D
a lot can be said about how bringing two young drivers together who genuinely are so close in ability (Lando's regular commentary last season about Oscar was how much he loved and hated that Oscar pushed him so hard) could easily have turned out badly by now but that Lando and Oscar both consistently say they don't want a rivalry to supersede the overall goal which is to bring success to the team AND that they have a fully open door policy between their two garages.
but also !! that McLaren have someone like Andrea who will put the thought and effort into the kind of parental guidance and boundaries that two young drivers need!

MY LAST SEVEN MINUTES WITH YOU
synopsis: after death, it's said human brain lives for 7 minutes to replay its best memories (0.65k) warnings: major character's death, pure angst a/n: HOW COULD I LET THIS OPPORTUNITY FOR ANGST GO AWAY??!!!
Tumblr media
the first minute was spent thinking about those nights you'd wake up feeling heavy, after looking down and finally coming to your senses, you'd notice Belphegor's body on top of yours. resting happily and so comfortably you'd feel bad about waking him, so you'd endure the difficulties of breathing to spend more time with him.
you'd also remember how he'd come up to you—pouting cutely after school has ended as a sign to go nap with him.
Tumblr media
the second minute leads to one time you craved something in the middle of the night but couldn't put your finger as to what exactly; only after you've encountered Beelzebub munching some left overs at the refrigerator. he asked you why were you up so late, to what you answered honestly. not even ten seconds passed before Beelzebub offered you a tray of food.
those times you'd go to different restaurants to taste the new flavors added on their menu each time also helped to warm even if only a tiny bit—your slowly-going cold—heart.
Tumblr media
the third minute comes and your brain goes to shopping days with Asmodeus, days where you could discover new sides of him, he'd open up little by little about some insecurities of his; but never forgot about your main purpose—refill your closet! sometimes you may have or may have not used Lucifer's card in order to achieve it...
there was also his constant flirting and teasing that never failed to make your knees go weak and butterflies make a party in your stomach.
Tumblr media
the fourth minute shows a mixed of times where you'd comfort Satan when you're first trying to get him out of his anger issues towards himself, and times where you were reading together, either in silence or not—both of you had smiles on your faces.
going out after finishing study sessions or homework in general to feed the stray cats had become a habit, you even got to know each and every cats' name!
Tumblr media
the fifth minute conducted your mind in a state of relaxation, bright colors blinded your eyes for a few moments, while you adjusted to it, you heard a familiar voice making happy and loud noises such unlikely of him. nevertheless, Leviathan couldn't be happier of you two winning the game's end after hours of hard work.
sometimes you'd have to rescue him from his brothers' bickering as you already knew how he felt about himself—you'd accompany him until the end.
Tumblr media
the sixth minute took you to a scene where you felt your face contort into one of concern. Mammon was strung up from the ceiling again. on those occassions, even if he begged you to free him, as you knew his older brother was keeping a sharp eye on him, knowing better than oblige, you'd opt to strike up conversations to spend time with him.
to make him forget all those bad thoughts he'd get from time to time and continue being his loud but courageous and cute self.
Tumblr media
the seventh, and for what's to mention—last minute. you had already stopped feeling your physical body at all, only feeling a couple of stungs here and there, but as the memories flowed, there was no pain.
there was no pain as Lucifer came to your mind—how difficult it was to gain his trust being the first impactful memory you thought about. from then on, you'd get flashes of various memories such as the times you'd have quiet and relaxing music sessions in his office or attend to packed with good-looking demons, restaurants only for you to be the only one receiving his compliments, even when he was pride's embodiment.
Tumblr media
as you felt a last stung on your heart, your last breath was heard by those who filled your heart with warmth for the time you've met them and your last memories—to leave them resting with a smile on your features.
Tumblr media
comment if you'd like to have some series about this timeline! i've give it a thought and it lacks of an introduction as to why reader's dying so mayyybe if you'd like i could write a story with this! OBEY ME! m.list

Summer was a time to roam the streets from the early morning hours to the low and late strokes of night. Life was always better when it didn’t get dark until eight o’clock— at least if you didn’t have a job.
Spending hours upon hours hunched over a computer screen is not only bad for your tan, but also, the digital strain and binary brain rot tended to gnaw at the pink matter of most computer science majors' brains. Summer, in all her warm and floral glory, was a time for poor, sleepless, and  programmed zombies to emerge from their cold and dark labs to enjoy some rare sunlight.
Luigi, in all his nerdy and left-brained glory, just so happened to align with the stereotype like the shimmering stars in their native sea of navy blue.
In the mornings, he lurched, his eyes hazy and unfocused as his pale knuckles clung to whatever life he had left in his soul. All-nighters soon turned to insomnia, the lack of rest stinging the whites of his eyes and attempting to force the windows to his soul shut every time he stood still for more than thirty seconds.
Life goes on, things grow and things change, and another day means another opportunity to improve himself and work towards bettering his arsenal of skills. Another day, another play.
He spent his morning getting ready for the day— going on an early morning run, sending around some emails, reading a couple of chapters of his newest addition to his near-crowded bookshelf, and listening to a couple of podcasts while he did the dishes. Just a slow morning to match the slow and steady hum of the urban neighborhood that rested just outside his front door.
Somewhere in the distant future, a slightly older Luigi is watching him right now from a memory that would feel vintage. Perhaps he's looking back and smiling proudly, admiring the dedication he had since the ripe age of twenty years old.
But when Luigi’s phone rang and Pico’s name projected itself on his screen in those thin white letters, future Luigi could only laugh and shake his head about the butterfly that fluttered into Luigi’s life, her white wings ready to create a life-altering butterfly effect.
“Yo, hey man, what's up?” He answered, pressing the speaker icon on the glassy screen.
“Yo, Pep, I found this underground racing thing slash car show. It’s supposed to have custom cars, cool bikes, helmets, slingshots, and a couple of Dylan’s classmates actually know one of the girls who’s racing today. We’re going at nine, do you want to come with us?” He asked, his staticky and slightly fuzzy voice blaring through Luigi’s phone speaker.
“Uhh, maybe? You said it’s like a car show? Isn’t street racing illegal?” Luigi asked, balancing his phone between his face and shoulder as he folded up the last components of his laundry.
“Please don't start asking questions,” Patrick sighed.
“Saying don’t ask questions when you’re asking me to go commit a crime with you is crazy,” he chuckled, his mouth coming up into a panicked smile as both of his brows furrowed with slight concern.
“It should be fine, I think…Dylan says they’re invite-only, so no snitches, plus they’re never held in the same area more than twice. It’s at a frat house an hour over, actually,” he explained.
“Pico, I don’t think this is very smart—“ Luigi began, the idea mulling over his mind again and again, juicing it dry of the sour taste it left on his tongue.
“Luigi, no offense – you don’t go outside. We need to have you outside this summer,” he snickered, and Luigi swore he could almost hear his brows rise and fall on the other line. “And let’s not pretend like you aren’t a jaywalking warrior.”
“Either they hit me and kill me, or I live. It’s a win-win situation,” Luigi chuckled, sucking in a deep breath of air as he thought about his decision carefully.
On one hand, he had a lot to lose in life. A scholarship, a good sense of moral ground, and a spot at a nice Ivy League university nestled right in the heart of the city he loved more than anything in the world.
Temptation is an evil temptress, and man has been known to fall for her tricks time and time again. Luigi was better than no man and found himself falling victim to her stirred cup of curiosity every once in a while.
He could be weak just once, he thought. After all, it seems like a fun one-time thing he likely won’t get to experience again, right?
“I think I’ll go actually…but I’m not driving, hell no,” he answered, punctuated by a small sarcastic chuckle at the end of his sentence.
“Type shit, type shit,” Patrick beamed, immediately texting Luigi his address again. “We’re gonna meet at my house, and then I’ll drive us.”
“Cool, thanks,” he nodded, listening to Patrick’s laggy and loud goodbye before they both hung up the phone.
Boop, boop, boop!
“Chris, can you get me a soda from the kitchen!?”
Your voice echoed through the hallway, bouncing off the empty walls and doing its best to maneuver through the loud vibration of Do What I Want by Lil Uzi Vert. When he didn’t respond, you huffed, adjusting your red and ivory varsity jacket before you waltzed down the hall a bit further from the bathroom.
“Chris!” You shouted, leaning over the black iron railing.
“Yeah?” He shouted back, immediately lifting his gaze from the living room couch.
“Can you get me a soda!?” You repeated.
“Absolutely not, get it yourself,” he beamed, adjusting the white rim of his red Chicago Bulls cap on his head.
“You’re evil, get out of my house…” You groaned, making your way back to the bathroom to continue finishing your makeup.
Tonight would mark your third race this summer, and your twenty-ninth in the past year. The month of June was always the slowest, but you were more than ready for things to kick off in early July.
You had been racing since just seventeen years old, ripping and tearing through streets at a pace no sane woman would ever see on their speedometer. At first, you were doing it for a rush, but it quickly became lucrative the more experience and speed you got.
Bets were made, donations flowed, crowds flocked, and cash was cashed the more you managed to claw your way through the asphalt. Your quiet and academic-driven life slowly began to sound like the inside of a crowded casino, slots clinking and money fluttering every time you stepped into the driver's seat.
You dabbed some highlighter on the tip of your nose, blending it out with the pad of your middle finger before looking over your outfit one more time. Red and ivory varsity jacket, low rise deep blue flares with large slits at the calves, a black tube top, and black Air Force Ones to tie everything together! Cute.
“When are Pink and Dhakiya coming?” You asked, making your way down the stairs to retrieve your black leather purse and a pair of glossy black browline glasses from the side table.
“Uhh…” Chris murmured, immediately flipping through his Snap to check his messages again. “Pink should be pulling up now, and ‘Kiya is gonna meet us there…she’s going with Dylan, and apparently he’s bringing some new bitches, so…” he chuckled, shaking his head in very obvious disapproval.
“You need to stop dropping addresses for him…he cannot keep his mouth closed, my fucking god…” you sighed, rolling your eyes as far as your sockets would allow before collapsing down onto the cotton fabric of your grey couch.
“Chill, Dylan’s fine. More people, more money…” he huffed, raising a brow at you before reading a text on his phone and snapping a pic of the corner of his bright green eye for a streak photo.
“Yeah, but he’s gonna get us fucking caught…” you huffed. “Who’s on lookout? Also, do we still have scanners?” You asked, flipping through your photo album titled ‘Firee’ and looking back on all the irresponsible memories you made in a car.
“Yeah. But we don’t need them anyway, we’re going to Bryce’s…playground, or whatever he calls it,” Chris nodded. “It’s good, you’ll like it. Big fucking villa, massive roads, and a big garage that can hold like thirty people.”
“That actually sounds nice,” you hummed, propping yourself up on your elbows to face Chris. “Who we driving? Pluto or Dashielle?”
“Dash, obviously,” Chris scoffed, half a chuckle lightening the end of his declaration.
He tossed the glossy, cherry-stained, and futuristic-looking key fob with your abundance of glimmery and glittery charms and keepsakes. Just as you pulled yourself off the couch, your bones cracking from slight exhaustion, the cherry oak front door came swinging open to reveal a tall and skinny young woman with a large curly black bun.
“Blitzen!! Baby!” She beamed, the golden grillz full of diamonds and spades on full display under the white fluorescent light of your living room.
You gasped, jumping up off the couch with a bright grin. “Pink!!”
You met her halfway, two steps away from the couch and two more away from the front door before you engulfed each other in a tight and wobbly hug. The woman wore a red tank top with little white bows on the spaghetti straps and the smallest low-rise jean shorts you could wear without being charged for public indecency.
Her slim stiletto heels clicked and clacked on the glossy dark hardwood floors, alerting the house to her presence as she frantically sipped the sweaty Coors Light in her hand.
“I’m so excited to be outside again!” She huffed, bending slightly at the knee as she pretended to lose her footing momentarily to signify how bored she had been this year. “Psychology was a mistake, Calnan has been killing me slowly, literally.”
“Girl…you don’t even wanna know what they’re putting me through,” you sighed, clipping your keys around your belt loop as Chris rose to his feet and stretched, his white wife beater riding up slightly.
“Alright, let’s go…the drive is like forty-five minutes, so we’ll get there at like six-twenty. You can do some donuts and show off the car,” he hummed, making his way out the front door.
You scrambled into your car as a group of three, kissing the hood of your red wheels before popping into the front seat and letting the icy breeze from the air conditioning fill the Cupid-red leather interior of your car. With Pink connected to the aux, the soles of the seats vibrated with the heavy bass and loud treble of some violent rap that prompted you into the afternoon distance.
Meanwhile, Luigi was cooped up in the passenger seat of a silver Chevrolet Camaro. The lyrics to Headlines by Drake filled the car, pressing against the glass as he scrolled on his phone to distract himself from the anxiety that rose the hairs on his arms and legs.
When they reached their destination, they saw a large Mediterranean-style home that was jam-packed with extremely extravagant cars— some were custom, built from the rims to the wings, some were customized beyond belief, and some were wrapped in various colors and textures of car wraps.
Emerging from the dim light in the back of Patrick’s car, he saw a sea of moving bodies that chatted and chirped as more seemed to nest in the bright garage. Everyone appeared to be nursing some sort of cold beverage, be it a Solo cup of mystery or a fresh can of carbonation with beads of condensation clinging to the tin.
“I’d rather not have my car get vandalized, so I’m gonna park across the street. Go in, Dylan should be somewhere in the house,” Patrick urged, a half-giddy smile on his face before he pulled his car off into the distance.
With Patrick gone, Luigi made his way up the stairs to the front porch, the sloped incline raising the greyscale home with black iron windows and ash-brown double front doors, slowly filling out more and more as he neared the front entrance.
His ears indulged in the music before his eyes took in the sight, the heavy vibration of Time Of Our Lives by Ne-Yo and Pitbull biting his ear with every word that Mr. Worldwide spent talking about his trials and tribulations. Now that he had a clear view of the front lawn and the side, his eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets as he saw the cars and women present.
A brunette with black roots in an all-American bikini top, the warm and humid sunset breeze kissing the freckles that ran up and down her arms as a man with a matte black helmet that had been scribbled on by many people across many timelines of his life. A McLaren 720S with bright pink glossy paint and heart-shaped rims that seemed to belong to a young lady not far from the cooler.
She, too, was dressed in all pink; from the cropped leather jacket with Hello Kitty patches all over the front, to the miniskirt that adorned her hips which undoubtedly made it impossible to bend more than fifty degrees. There were people everywhere, grillz in mouths that danced like flappers— flappers who complimented the heavy fur coats and exorbitant diamonds and gold.
If Luigi tried hard enough, he could almost match every person to a car. The flashier the vehicles, the brighter the bearer seemed to glimmer under the reddish summer sunlight.
He didn’t dare speak to any of them— not when he was dressed like an outcast with a bank balance in the negatives. By no means was Luigi poor, absolutely not— but he found himself a little timid as people walked by and looked him up and down.
He wasn’t intruding, but it was damn obvious nobody knew his face. In this new world, he had been forcibly thrown into by the eager whims of his best friend, real recognized real, and he was a very unwelcome face.
He felt like a fraud just being there. He decided it was best if he tore his eyes away from the beautiful machinery in favor of finding the actual person who permitted him to be here in the first place.
His feet carried him before his racing mind could, nearly tripping over the spilled beer cans that were hydrating the freshly mowed blades of grass. The front door was wide open— just enough to accommodate the big egos and even bigger wallets that flowed in and out of the archway.
His eyes scanned over the crowd, cherry-picking his favorite outfits of the evening as he wiggled through the hallway to the kitchen in pursuit of Dylan. There seemed to be a common theme amongst the young women in attendance— bikini tops that left very little to the imagination, or maybe the occasional tank top paired with some form of low-rise jeans.
Accessories clinked and twinkled, allowing him a moment to get familiar with what sound each person’s soul made when allowed a moment to express themselves. Dull, chunky sounds of maximalist resin bangles, sharp and starlike twinkles of gold and silver chains or necklaces, and heavy thunks of rubber soles on heels or sneakers against the hardwood floors.
He found Dylan in the west hall, a golden yellow smile on his teeth as he conversed with a brown-skinned woman wearing a red tube top with black leather split-hem pants.
“Yo, Luigi! You’re outside! For the first time in forever!” He cheered, greeting Luigi with a firm dap and an intimate side hug. “Glad to see you could make it! Where’s Pico?”
“Hey, man! Yeah, Pico said he’s gonna park across the street. So what’s going on, is this like, a party? What’s happening?” He asked, exchanging polite waves and upward nods with the woman next to Dylan.
“Hello…I’m Dhakiya,” she said, giving him a polite smile.
“Oh, yeah, this is Dhakiya, her friend is hosting today. Uhhh.., we’re waiting for Chris, Pink, and Red Rum to get here, then she’s gonna race against Half Moon…” Dylan said, the aliases rolling off his tongue and losing their way to Luigi’s brain as his brows furrowed.
“Who names their kid Pink…” he said, more of a statement than a question as he ignored the lingering stares from people who passed him by.
“Nah, her name’s not actually Pink, we just call her that…but they should—“ He began, the childish flower clips at the end of his two strand twists clinking together as he abruptly turned his head to face the sudden sound of a door slamming open.
“AYO! BLITZ IS OUTSIDE, ERR’BODY GET THE FUCK OUT!”
There was a flash of clamor, bodies all traveling in one direction as each person scrambled for a way out the door with large smiles and eager chatter.
He heard the sound of a loud engine revving, tires screeching and squealing in pain as they drifted and rubbed against the asphalt. A nasty, grim, and ghostly hood of smoke fizzled from underneath your tires.
A testament to your speed, darkened friction marks imprinted themselves on the road as you did donut after donut in the street. Patrick had found Luigi standing in shock at the top of the hill, watching as your red Rimac looped over and over in the wide road below.
Cheers and exclamations of excitement filled the air, limbs pushing and shoving as everyone clumped together to witness the speedy display. To Luigi’s surprise, a woman rolled down the passenger side window just to sit on the ledge and stick her tongue out in triumph.
She yelled, her nonsensical whoops of freedom piercing through the crowd and the now-hushed music before the glossy vehicle whipped into the large driveway.
Chris emerged from the back, and the woman in the window spun around to drop her feet on the floor with a bright, silver smile. Soon, a young woman with a red varsity jacket and low-rise jeans that hugged her up so good it restored his faith in flare jeans emerged from the driver's seat.
You emerged from your car, fanning your face free of the smoke that Chris had huffed and puffed in the back. A little bit of showing off never hurt anybody, and the crowd seemed to enjoy seeing the little figure eight of friction marks you left scorching on the road.
You smiled, watching as a familiar man with a golden grin approached you to give you daps and welcome you to Bryce’s old car workshop, or playground, as he referred to it.
“Welcome, welcome! Pep, Pico, c’mere!” He called, beckoning over two tall men in your direction.
One was much broader in the shoulders, his extremely casual monochrome Adidas hoodie adorning his trained and disciplined muscles. You definitely didn’t recognize the chocolate brown curls or the jet-black hair of the lean man with raccoon-like eyebags next to him.
“This is Patrick, and this is Luigi. They’re new…they’re my Phi-Psi brothers,” Dylan smiled, matching a name to a face as he wrapped an arm around either of their shoulders.
“I could tell, don’t worry…” you stated, raising your brows at their white cargo shorts and blue skinny jeans that didn’t scream usual crowd…or race etiquette. Stepping out of the house looking so casual was a choice— not a good one, but a choice nonetheless.
You gave them a half-nod, clutching at Pink’s hand as she joined you in looking the two men up and down.
“Hmm…well, have fun. You leave here, this didn’t happen,” you smiled, the ends of your lips forcing themselves upwards in a grin that lacked emotion in the eyes.
“Yeah, of courseI like your car,” Patrick said, eyeing up your wheels like a child spotting their first sugar fix of the day.
Candied apples, dripping with red syrup and glossed up by the sweet fading sunlight. You turned around, admiring the black wing and how low it sat on the asphalt before facing the men again.
“Thanks…” you murmured, nodding slowly before pushing your way past the three in pursuit of your opponent, Half Moon.
You found his car quite quickly, that gorgeous shade of blue-black, high wing, and as many illegal mods as he could cram into its internal organs without making a mechanic question his origins. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray— a beautiful hymn of words that purred like a well-fed kitten on the streets.
“Half Moon! What’s good, what’s good!” You squealed, eagerly jogging up to the man decorated with a matte black helmet complete with cat ears and a pitch-black visor.
He wasn’t wearing a shirt, only a stack of silver chains that clinked and clattered as he moved. A large moon spanned across his chest in its third quarter phase, along with one full sleeve of snakes and vines across his left arm.
His pants sagged so low you could see about twenty percent of his black Calvin Klein boxers, they poked out from underneath his black ripped jeans like a loud reminder of his careless demeanor.
“A’sup, Blitz,” he greeted, pulling you into a tight side hug and chuckling beneath the helmet. “Aye, no hard feelings, but we went like sixty to forty in the bets. I will gladly take the remaining forty people put on your car.”
”Hell nah, I’m taking all sixty home tonight. Bills to pay, tuition to fund…no hard feelings,” you snickered, furrowing your brows at his cocky and zealous statement.
“Sure…See I got respect for you, cuz you stayin’ in school, but don’t bet your future on no car…” he advised, tilting his obscured head at your ‘naïveté’.
“It’s not a bet if I know I’m gonna win, though…” you smiled, giving him a polite nod before retreating to your car with Pink.
Luigi, merely a bystander from the sidelines, watched as the man named Half Moon pulled his car around next to yours, aligning himself perfectly parallel with your candied automobile. His nerves seemed to climb by the second, despite not being involved in anything that was happening around him.
He watched as the crowd began to walk down to the road, letting you and Half Moon peel out of the driveway just as smoothly as the pair of you had pulled in. Some bystanders dragged with them some sort of chair to sit on, while some chose to stand and guzzle down whatever remained of their drink, and many clutched onto others as a man with two large trays walked around and collected fat stacks of money from each member who cared enough to bet.
With a roar of the ignition, each cold and clean-cut car seemed to spring to life on the spot. White and foggy smoke puffed from your exhaust, shots like bullets sputtering and sparking from each car’s rear as one brave woman stepped in front of both cars to set up the make-shift lighting system, something Chris had referred to in Luigi's ear as the “Christmas tree.”
His lungs had never felt fuller, and his eyes had never been so still in his life. He wasn’t exactly fond of your introduction to him, but he did have to admit your car was grabbing his attention more than he’d like to admit under these circumstances.
Each engine growled, your Rimac angry and hot like a dragon gearing up to bring fire to the front lawn. Loud, resentful, and eager to devour the purr of the quiet and kitten-like engine next to you.
If Luigi strained his ears enough, he could tell exactly what car was making what sound over the noise. Even the smoke that flowed from your vehicles was different, yours came out in a steady stream of cotton-like clouds that faded much quicker than Half Moon’s.
His heart pounded against his chest cavity, the blood rushing to his ears as his anxiety and anticipation forced his eyes forward on the cars in front of him. To say he was nervous was a criminal understatement— if at any moment the cops decided to show up, everyone was done for.
His thoughts only turned off when he saw a tall, almost hazardously skinny woman dressed in an all-white bikini and blue Moon Boots strut her way in front of the cars in a blue cropped fur hoodie that seemed to swallow her arms and head whole.
“Alright! Ladies and men, I wanna welcome you to Bryce’s playground! Three things before we get started: I need both drivers to check their seatbelts, and verify that their airbags are indeed in check! Make sure that your dash cam is on and that any potential passengers or guests are not recording at this very moment!” she announced, taking an old-fashioned pistol out of her fuzzy coat pocket.
“When you hear my pistol go off, that is your sign to make your way down from this very road down to that red barn we see in the distance!” She shouted, turning around to point at the run-down-looking barn that appeared to be no farther than about a mile. “And for my newcomers, if we have any with us tonight, we’d like to welcome you on behalf of my dear darling boyfriend, and point out that if this happens to get leaked and you decide to go tattling, we are very good at covering our tracks! That being said, BUCKLE THE FUCK UP!”
Blood rushed through your veins, adrenaline fogging your mind as your foot teased the gas oh so subtly. The car practically vibrated with the force of the engine, the turbos in your car’s guts forcing as much air in the combustion as physically possible.
She growled like a dragon, your little leather seats shaking in learned fear as you waved at Half Moon from the window on your right. You offered him a kind smile and a thumbs up before focusing on the long strip of road ahead of you, shooting up a silent prayer to any god that could protect your life as she had done many times before.
“On your mark!” Lucy said, her manicured finger teasing the trigger of her pistol with the most determined and nonchalant expression you’ve ever seen someone in her shoes don.
“Get set…”
Before you knew it, the Christmas tree flashed two green lights and the bullet had dispatched from its fiery chamber. The bang was loud enough to render the weakest of the pack deaf, weeding out the runts that found themselves hindered by their inability to recognize the call of two fanged predators ready to hunt.
Your foot slammed down on the gas, sending you flying forward as your car rapidly gained speed at an alarming rate. Two hundred and thirty miles per hour in just three point eighty-three seconds— your front wheels departed from the floor, the front of the car bearing the brunt of your speed as your opponent made a hearty attempt to close the distance that had built in such a short amount of time.
It was like watching the son of Satan chase after his father's red robes of fury; he was practically riding your ass with how close he was, but it wasn’t enough.
Pink screamed and giggled her head off, her heels kicked up on the dash as the air raided your windows and made quick work of sending your hair flying in every direction it was able. With this kind of speed and horsepower, the tightest of curls never even stood a chance.
The roar of the dragon was heard all the way back at the playground, her claws ripping up the asphalt as she flew forward in a manner that should defy the laws of physics. Her wings aided her escape as her tires came screeching at the barn, reaching her destination a mere two seconds earlier than the runt she left behind.
After the smoke cleared and the smell of scorched rubber dissipated from the air, you got out of your car to give Half Moon a firm handshake and a fist bump.
“Sorry. I’m too good at school to not be able to pay for it,” you smiled, watching as he flipped open his visor to reveal a slightly defeated but impressed smile.
“God damn, what are you feeding that thing? What mods you got?” He asked, walking around the front of your car to observe what rested under the hood.
“There’s a couple of E-turbos in there…she’s an electric engine, so I gotta treat her right,” you nodded. “You’re not gonna see ‘em under the hood though.”
“Smart girl…” he hummed, shutting the car hood with a nod. “How much was she? No way you get this while still in college…”
“Maybe two million…? But I bought it for much cheaper from a friend from school once I started getting my bread together. Chris, actually…he said he was making an investment, whatever that means,” you shrugged.
“Smart man,” he chuckled, climbing back into his car to make his way back to the playground. “I have no idea where you got the money, much less Chris’ dumbass, but I’m not gonna question it.”
“Thanks,” you nodded, returning to your front seat and giving celebratory hugs to Pink.
You clawed your way back up the hill, parking your car back in the driveway as you stepped out to the crowd thundering with cheers and celebrations. It seemed as though anyone who bet more than three dollars on Half Moon began to grow upset, groans and grunts of loss mingling in with the loud applause as you faced the orchestra of joy.
You stepped out with Pink, your tongue out in triumph as your hands motioned for more applause. If there was a time to boast and gloat, it was now or never.
You were young, rich, and played in the face of the almighty grim reaper on a day-to-day basis. Your earnings were served like cold ice cream after thrashing about in a heated jacuzzi.
The large and fat platter of cash was handed to you, featuring a couple of rings and necklaces that were offered up rather than cash that could be flipped for their value in gold. The celebration was short-lived in all its right, and you watched as the gaudily dressed individuals filed into their respective cars and hopped on bikes after retrieving photographic evidence of their whereabouts that they’d inevitably boast about on social media.
You had taken about fifty photos within the following ten minutes. Posing with girls in the tiniest bikinis, men in the darkest outfits that would be considered emo if they weren’t coupled with bright and flashy jewelry. Most people had left, and you were just left with Chris, Pink, Dylan, Dhakiya, and the riffraff Dylan had brought along.
“That was tough as shit, B! I see you! Dustin’ hoes in your lil’ candy car, okay!” Dylan praised, eagerly patting your shoulder as Dhakiya came over beside him with a fat joint between her fingers.
“Breaking Half’s streak is crazy,” she said, a bright smile on her face that contrasted her heavy lids that were pink from the Mary Jane.
“Thank you, thank you,” you smiled, giving high fives and hugs all around before Luigi and his friend came around.
“That was really cool…” Luigi murmured, child-like admiration woven in his tone while his brows shot up with shock.
“Thank you,” you smiled, nodding your head as Chris brought you over a cold pineapple Fanta.
He was new, and maybe you were being a little mean…his beady black doe eyes pulled at your heartstrings, plucking out of tune notes of empathy underneath your hardened demeanor. He was just looking for a good time, and it felt a little hypocritical to wave him off like a flea-bitten stray.
In a way, you could almost see your past self beyond the windows of his soul. Staring back at you with that same wonderstruck expression. It was hard to not offer small talk when he was just so cute…like a little dumb baby!
“I remember watching my first race,” you hummed, taking a deep swig from the aggressively carbonated drink that stung deep in your nostrils, but after being subjected to car hotboxes so sweltering that your eyes stung from the smoke, not much could affect your nasals.
“It was hell. The dude I bet on lost terribly. Then he crashed out and started yelling, but god damn those cars were sexy,” you chuckled.
You watched as Patrick began conversing with Chris and Dylan, exchanging numbers and information with Dhakiya before delving into a conversation about future car shows and any potential races coming up.
“Man, that’s rough…but you did really good! I thought your car was gonna flip backward at one point,” he chuckled. “How is your car even that fast…they said you got there in like sixteen seconds!”
“I can’t tell you,” you smiled. “It’s a secret…maybe if I see your face a couple more times I’ll tell you.”
“Oh, I see…” he beamed, his brows pinching together as he nodded down at you. “No respect for the new guy, I see.”
“Nope. You might be a fed,” you joked, pretending to pat him down for a wire.
“Absolutely not,” he laughed, shaking his head and watching as you counted your earnings from the large silver tray.
“That’s a lot of money…” he nearly whispered, watching as you counted blue-tinted hundred-dollar bills at the speed of light.
“What money?” You teased, raising a brow at him and pausing with your shuffling. “I didn’t earn any money. I got this from my safe at home…”
“Oh yeah, right, totally. I forgot, how ignorant of me,” He nodded.
“Yo! B, let’s go! Cops get wind, we’re all fucked. Don’t act brand new in front of your lil’ friend,” Dylan called.
You paused, giving the man a sly nod and a grin as you shoved all of the wads of money into your black purse.
“Maybe I’ll see you again, maybe I won’t. If I do, don’t show up like this again,” you beamed, gesturing at Luigi’s sandals and relatively generic outfit. “And wear red…it’s my color.”
“Sure…I can do that,” he chuckled.
“Now get, before Bryce rolls up and calls the cops on you.”
“Yes ma’am.”
You climbed back into your car, tossing your keys up front to Chris as you slumped in the back seat to take a hard-earned nap. Something in the atmosphere told you that you would see him again, whether it be at a new race or maybe at a local Trader Joe’s.
Wherever it was that you’d cross paths, you were sure you’d recognize those spiral curls of cocoa and his firm voice that trembled and fumbled when he spoke. And as you unzipped your purse to count your money, you let him fade into the back of your mind to become a distant memory until you’d have to put a name to his face once more.

Angel On His Shoulder
You felt it in your bones: everyone was going home. You absolutely believed and trusted every single one of the players as soon as the guards announced the vote. You knew they’d want to keep themselves and their fellow players safe. You glanced around the crowd gathering on the floor, preemptively proud of the decision you were sure they would make.
“What’s with the smile, angel?” you heard a deep voice ask. You turned around to see a tall, purple haired figure behind you.
“No reason,” you answered, not trying to encourage small talk between you and a demon. You turned back around, but he was not so easily discouraged.
“I think,” he continued on, walking up next to you, “you believe everyone’s about to head out of this place.”
You were more than a little frustrated he seemed to be able to read you so well. It also didn’t help that the heat of his aura always quelled the coldness you were used to feeling from your own aura. You were finding it difficult to literally keep your cool around him.
“So what if I do?” you asked with a small huff.
Su-bong couldn’t stop the smile that came to his face at your persistence. He didn’t know what you saw in mortals, but it amused him to no end.
“And what if it doesn't turn out how you think?” he asked. He felt frustrated as you didn't answer and kept looking ahead. He tried not to let it show as your action unintentionally took a dig at his ego, and continued on, “Or have you not thought of that?”
He felt a smidge of satisfaction when you once again turned towards him. You glared in his direction before saying, “I believe in them.”
“Right. Doubt isn’t really an option for angels, is it?” he asked.
“That’s not- We can- I simply don’t need,” you sputtered through a jumbled mass of words. He tilted his head as he listened to your failed attempts of excuses, openly grinning at your frowning face.
“Wow, I’ve never been proven so wrong,” he teased.
“You know what? You are going to be eating your words once these people vote,” you said, only doubling down in what you believed. You couldn't help but notice how right he was; doubt did not seem to be a skill you possessed.
“You sure about that?” he leaned in and asked as his eyes moved to a few of the players in front of you. Both seemed to be discussing the possibilities of voting O. You felt your assuredness falter for a moment, but soon you regained your confidence.
“Yes, I’m sure!” you said, choosing to assume those two players were in the minority. Surely, most of these players would want to help themselves and each other and go home.
Su-bong noticed the little hesitation in your voice, and decided to take advantage of the small opportunity.
“Alright,” he said, “So X wins and you win, but if it’s O…”
“What, like a bet?” you said, repulsed by the idea of betting on something so serious.
As your nose crinkled once again Su-bong felt his confident demeanor falter for a moment when faced with your very endearing expression. But he quickly regained his footing as he held out a hand towards you.
“Let’s call it a deal,” he said.
“I’m not doing that,” you said, not buying into what he was selling.
“Why not?” he asked.
“I’m not about to make a deal with a devil,” you said with a flat tone.
“Okay, fine,” he said with a casual shrug, but somewhere in the back of his head he felt oddly pleased you hadn’t fallen for it.
The both of you turned away from one another as a pink guard spoke up, announcing the beginning of the vote. Player 456 walked across the room, and you breathed a sigh of relief as soon as the tally ticked upwards for the X’s.
As soon as number 444 was called you hurried to the other side of the room to cast your vote. You turned to give Thanos a smug look before joining the other X’s. He simply rolled his eyes at your display, waiting for his turn.
As the vote continued on though you felt your confidence start to falter. The group was split closer down the middle than you had expected. But you wouldn’t give up until the vote was officially done. You wouldn’t stop believing in them. You huffed with unsurprised annoyance as Thanos voted O. He turned to you, mocking your earlier move as he returned the smug expression before joining the other O voters.
Apparently you weren’t the only one who believed in these players. Player 456 pushed to the front of the crowd df X’s to give a stirring speech. You nodded your head in agreement, hoping the remaining players would listen to his warning. Thanos was easy to spot thanks to his brightly colored hair, and you made sure to give him a know-it-all look as the player spoke up in favor of ending the games. He held up one ringed finger as if to say “wait and see”.
Moments later Player 100 was suddenly yelling back at 456. Su-bong looked back over to you, ready to rub it in your face as an argument broke out. But you weren’t looking at him. You refused to give him even more of your attention, and instead you watched the others worriedly as they started to yell. Annoyance, and maybe a tinge of disappointment, at your rejection bubbled up inside him. He was determined to get you to pay attention.
You were trying to calm the players around you, reasoning that fighting was not the answer, when you heard a deep voice cut through the crowd. You abandoned your conversation, moving through the other X’s to get a better view. You almost didn't believe it until you saw the familiar purple hair.
“If you really won, it actually works better for us,” he said, and you watched with a sinking feeling as players nodded their heads in agreement, “You can give us some tips on how to survive these games.”
You watched in shock as he hyped up the crowd, cheering them on to vote O. As he turned around he already knew exactly who’s reaction he was looking for, and as soon as he spotted you he was not disappointed. You started disbelievingly at him as he smirked and swaggered past you back to the O’s. You both looked back at the other with determination, literal lines drawn between the two of you as the voting continued on.
As the voting concluded you felt your heart sink into the ground. You were wrong. The players had voted to keep playing. But you didn't blame them. You put all the responsibility on Player 230.
Speak of the devil, you thought glumly to yourself as he approached your bunk.
“Hey,” he said, sounding frustratingly casual. You did not answer, instead focusing all your attention on a loose thread on your sheet. He sighed, leaning against your bed frame.
“C’mon, you can’t really be upset about this. Or even surprised,” he said, then paused to hear your response. But it never came, “I came over to rub my victory in your face, but it’s not nearly as fun if you keep ignoring me.”
You finally broke the silence as you said, “Victory? You cheated!”
“What are you talking about?” he asked.
“That little speech you made! You interfered with the players’ decision making,” you explained.
His expression changed to mock shock as he spoke, “I can’t believe you would accuse me of such a thing as cheating.”
“I’m not counting it as a victory,” you said.
“You can’t act so surprised. Tempting humans is kind of my thing,” he pointed out. He glanced around, making sure no one was within earshot before whispering, “But just so you know, demons aren’t above cheating either.”
“Just so you know, angels don’t give up without a fight,” you said, trying to out-intimidate him. But it clearly didn’t work as he started to laugh.
“Please. That’s all you angels do,” he snickered. You gasped in indignation, but that only added fuel to his fire, “Listen, since you think I cheated then let me offer you an olive branch.”
“I’m not going to take a deal so stop offering,” you said, but he held up his hands in mock defeat.
“This isn't a deal. Think of it as an invitation,” he explained.
You listened, curious about his “invitation”. He reached a hand out to tap a ringed finger against your X patch. A small spot of your skin, exactly where his fingertip tapped, tingled under your clothes as he did. The heat that always surrounded him seemed to cut through the fabric.
“If you ever get sick of losing, you’re always welcome to join my side,” he said.
“No chance,” you said before waving away his hand, getting up, and stomping over to a few X players. Su-bong watched you as you walked away, finding himself once again pulled in by your insistent personality.

Something I find interesting when viewing the two recent Dune movies as a whole is that initially, Paul is more than willing to use the prophecy and his visions for his own gain to convince Liet to help them, while Jessica whispers "careful!" at his side, and she later recommends they leave the planet entirely. But Paul decides they'll stay with the Fremen. Even at the beginning of Part 2, Paul is like "fuck yeah let's wage war on the Harkonnen" and Jessica is again counseling caution: "your father didn't believe in revenge." She goes through the Water of Life ceremony not because she wants to help Paul fulfill the prophecy but because she's forced to: do this or die. And even then, the old Reverend Mother had to use the Voice on her to get Jessica to drink.
That all changes when Jessica nearly dies during the ceremony. After that, Paul becomes more wary of embracing the prophecy, and she just throws herself into it. Paul nearly loses his mother (and his unborn sister) to a painful, agonizing poison - mere hours/days after losing his father and all their friends/allies to the Harkonnen slaughter - and decides it's not worth it. Meanwhile, Jessica gets a direct download of memories of millennia of oppression and goes "yeah let's burn everything to the ground."
It's an interesting, quick reversal at the beginning of the second movie, and it's great.
Ooh thank you for this great ask. I can always count on you for smart and thoughtful Jessica takes!
You make a really good observation about their reversal of positions--I had been struggling to figure out how Paul's line about "I must sway the non-believers" fit into his overall arc, but you are absolutely right that this feels like a continuation of how he talks to Liet. We're seeing the first stirrings of that little "maybe I am special" thought that later takes center stage.
For most of Part Two, Paul has several reliable counterweights pulling against that streak of arrogance and high-handedness that he's had from the beginning. Jessica almost dies drinking the Water of Life, which, like you point out, has got to make him think twice about encouraging people to believe in the prophecy. Then, he spends most of the movie surrounded by Chani and her friends and comrades, who seem the most skeptical of the prophecy and also aren't going to give his ego the time of day. And at the same time, he has an opportunity to pour his desire for revenge into collective political action that seems to be making a difference.
It's only when those countervailing forces start collapsing (the people who had started out as his equals are now becoming his followers; the Harkonnens attack Sietch Tabr and other civilian population centers, proving they are far from militarily defeated; Gurney shows up and immediately offers what seems like an easy solution to their problems that only Paul can access) that the little maybe I am special voice starts winning again.
As for Jessica, her journey doesn't get as much focus in the movie but it's also fascinating. She's a great character because she is so fucking smart at navigating power structures from what seems like an unenviable position. Did she have any choice about being sent to Caladan to become Leto's concubine? I am guessing she did not. But she sure figured out how to work that situation to her advantage. It happened that along the way she and Leto came to genuinely love and respect each other. But I'm sure she would still have figured out an angle even if that had not been the case.
In Part Two she starts out in a frankly quite terrifying position: she can undergo this unknown, dangerous ritual or die, and also possibly put Paul's safety at risk by raising doubt about whether he is the Lisan al-Gaib. But after she survives the Water of Life, she is launched into a powerful position in Fremen society and pretty quickly realizes she can use that to both protect Paul and get her revenge on the people who tried to kill her whole family. And unlike Paul, she is much more cognizant of the intergalactic power structures at work and aware that the Harkonnens themselves were a pawn in all this, so her target is the Bene Gesserit and the emperor.
I would have loved more time to explore Jessica's relationship to Fremen society and her POV in general. Because in some ways she becomes as Fremen as it's possible for her to be--she has access to thousands of years of memories of Fremen history and culture and politics; she becomes instantly fluent in the language and she is immersed in Fremen daily life in the sietch. (If there's one single thing I wanted more of, it was daily life in the sietch.) But she's still the same person she was, so she hasn't lost that ability to be ruthless and calculating and see people as forces to be manipulated. In Part One, her love for Paul and Leto provided an interesting counterweight to this that allowed us to see some moments of vulnerability from her (ie. she knows Paul has to undergo the Gom Jabbar test but she's terrified for him while it's happening). In Part Two she is so isolated for most of the movie (away from Paul; surrounded by followers who were never friends; I think we can all agree that talking to your unborn fetus doesn't really count) that we don't get a lot of these more unguarded moments from her. (I would have loved some Jessica/Stilgar action and it seems like the potential was very much set up for that, but I understand why they didn't have time.)
But in general I thought they did a great job of setting up this contradictory tension between Jessica and Paul, where they both want so desperately to protect each other and they both want revenge, but the way they each go about it ends up putting them in direct conflict with each other.

King and Prince 30
Part 29
Steve wasted no time appearing in town to challenge Jason. Eddie accompanied him, keeping a low profile as the horse he rode on again. Steve dismounted when they got to the butcher’s shop and Jason came out immediately as if summoned. He probably just saw them through the window the moment they arrived.
“Well look who decided to grace us low folk with his presence.” Jason’s apron was bloody and he was wiping it off his hands also.
Steve’s expression was stony. “Did I ever make you feel low? Even when we were alone?”, he asked.
“I always knew there was something off about you. That alone was enough.” Jason tossed the red stained cloth over his shoulder. “Why are you here?”
“I want you to rescind your blasphemous lies. I am no longer an agent of my homeland. I didn’t come here intending to invade this kingdom.”
People began to gather, first because of the brilliantly black horse, so rich and fine, then because of Steve who was equally fine. Folks began to murmur, speculating that this was the man who had their king so enamored. Jason was good at both gauging a crowd and turning them to his favor. And he saw opportunity.
“What happens if I refuse? I haven’t been shown any proof to the contrary.” Then he projected his voice. “Will you smite me? Or will His Majesty? If I’m wrong, reveal it to be evident. But if I am simply silenced, everyone here will know your true face.”
Steve’s frown deepened. “Will you not seek a more honorable path?”
“And what, pray tell, is the more honorable path?”, Jason questioned as his parents stepped out, curious about the wealthy looking man on their porch.
“I challenge you, Jason Carver, to a duel”, Steve said.
Jason smirked. Something about it reminded Steve of a predator. But he stood strong. The best man would win and that was him. Jason held out his hand, smears of blood still on it.
“I accept.”
Steve held his own hand out and shook it. But then Jason didn’t let go on the downswing as the crowd’s whispers began to rise. Steve tried to pull his hand back but Jason held firm. He took too many steps forward until he was in Steve’s space.
“You’re going to regret this.” He was grinning still until the horse whinnied and pushed his head threateningly between Steve and Jason, causing Jason to rear back.
“Easy, easy, I’m fine”, Steve soothed, petting the horse’s snout. He continued to shush them as he got on its back. “A messenger will be forthcoming with the details.”
----------------
The duel was set for a week’s time and in the following days, Eddie unfortunately saw Steve less and less. It wasn’t for lack of trying too. When he heard that Steve was taking on knights in the training room, he had come right over, gift in hand. They were gloves for his lovely hands so that he would never need to touch the likes of Carver ever again.
But before he could even enter, Dustin barred him, hand in his face.
“You can’t come in”, Dustin said.
“And why on this green, verdant earth, not?” He wasn’t in the mood for whatever Henderson was playing at.
“Steve told us he can’t be distracted while he trains.”
“I wouldn’t be a distraction”, Eddie argued.
“He specifically said, ‘if Eddie comes, don’t let him in’”, Dustin echoed.
“Mhm, but since when do you listen to whatever people tell you to do?”, Eddie challenged.
“Steve promised to show me a disemboweling move if I did”, Dustin said. “You got something to top that?”
Eddie highly doubted Steve was going to follow through with that promise, so he wasn’t going to one-up him just to satisfy Dustin. If Steve wanted to focus on the duel, he would respect that. The door opened and Lucas stuck his head out, allowing Eddie to hear the ruckus going on just beyond it.
“Dustin! Get back here! It’s so epic!”
There were cheers at least a dozen strong that supported Lucas’ claim and Dustin rushed to get back in and shut the door behind him, leaving Eddie all alone. He sighed, forlorn, before picking himself up. If Steve was throwing himself into this, so would he. It had been some time since he had to make a show of power to his people.
Eddie coordinated the dueling venue, erecting an arena in a dusty, flat area. During fall and winter, it was a congregation for demobeasts as it got cold and hard. During the warmer parts of the year though, it was either empty or frequented by youngsters playing their own games. By the week’s end, there was a view box for the king and his entourage, benches for the other spectators, and a ring in which the fighters would battle.
It wasn’t just people from the town immediately outside the castle that came. Word traveled fast and people from neighboring cities came as well. When dawn arrived of the duel, Eddie wondered if there would be proper accommodations. In the form of a raven, he flew over the duel grounds and saw that while the morning mist was still evaporating, people were already gathering to claim their spots.
That all suited him just fine, he decided. He would be announcing his courtship officially and the more ears the better.
The sun rose higher and the time was nearly here. Eddie had behaved and not distracted him at all, but he couldn’t resist coming into his tent as he prepared.
“Did you-did you cut your hair?”, Eddie nearly squeaked as an attendant tied leather to Steve’s shin.
“I do that sometimes for the summer”, Steve said, sitting on a stool. It wasn’t much of a change to be honest but it still drove home how Eddie hadn’t seen Steve in days. Just a couple inches off his hair felt like an immeasurable distance.
“You look as dashing as ever”, Eddie said easily, taking steps forward then realized they weren’t alone. “You may take your leave”, he ordered.
The attendant left, closing the tent behind themselves. There was a crowd ebbing and flowing outside but they were in their own little world now. Not a servant or chaperone to be spoke of. Eddie knelt down before Steve and finished the job, tying up his other leg. Steve was suddenly very conscious of his own breathing, of the way Eddie’s eyes focused on the task before him, of the tip of his nose, of the way his hands lingered.
In order to tie down the protective layer, he had to touch his calf, the back of his knee, his ankle. His clothing stood between skin to skin contact, but that didn’t stop the touch from warming him. It was the reverent way Eddie did it. It was having a king on his knees. It was Eddie adding something to protect him.
“In case you were wondering, this is why I couldn’t have you watch me train”, Steve said, his voice just ever so slightly breathless.
Just to be cheeky, Eddie kissed his clothed knee. “I heard you put on quite the performance.”
Steve moved to stand and Eddie helped him to his feet. Their only point of contact was their hands and yet it felt like so much. Not for the first time, Steve was trying to remember why he wasn’t allowed to kiss Eddie right now. He wanted to. Eddie wanted to. And Eddie seemed to have the same realization as his eyes met Steve’s. He brought the prince’s hand towards him to kiss the tips of his fingers, then the palm of his hand.
Eddie’s lips ghosted over the inside of his wrist when a blast of fanfare broke the illusion of privacy. But there was a moment still, where they both considered stealing just one more second to act on their desires. But then Eddie pulled away.
“Our public awaits”, he said, starting towards the tent’s opening.
Steve walked out with him, but they had to part ways so that Steve could enter the arena and that Eddie could go to his viewing box and announce the start of the duel, as well as lay out the terms to all in attendance.
“Enjoy the show”, Steve said with a wink.

Melbourne...let's talk about it cos I got a lot to say.
I'mma start with rookies because honestly it's their first race and so many didn't make it.
DISCLAIMER: this is all based purely off of my opinions on what I saw this weekend. Do not get offended if I said something you don't like, opinions are allowed to exist. I tried to make sure nothing came across as hate or too hard but I will admit some drivers I was maybe harsher on in sharing my thoughts. You do not have to agree but don't come at me getting mad, though feel free to share discussions I'm happy to keep it civil and talk about it with people in replies (i'm saying this bc I share this bc people have asked for my thoughts but I am not interested in or looking for arguments)
Rookies
When I say I was verging on tears seeing Hadjar, like that was devastating. I don't have much more to say but I know he's better than that, it was a very common mistake today and there was no way to be prepared for it. I will admit seeing him hug Lewis' dad left me in fucking tears. But it's good to see that emotion, it's important to see how much this means to these young guys. I hope he takes a leaf out of Yuki's book and uses this sort of thing as motivation for the next race. Same for Doohan and Bortoleto, obviously they were later but same things really. Hard to watch.
Bearman, I mean his race was...more testing time imo. He was on track and thankfully kept it on track which like credit to him bc it was a struggle we saw more than just rookies struggle and given his weekend so far, obviously he needed to show us that he could keep that car on track. Hate to be harsh but hopefully lessons were learned for next week and we see improvements from him moving forward.
Obviously stand out was Kimi, he did kind of get quite lucky Ferrari absolutely bottled their strategy, Oscar went off, Yuki also got fucked by strategy (I have something more to discuss about this). But there's no denying he was on fire, easily one of the top 3 drivers of the day no doubt in my mind. Also absolutely adorable seeing him involve his little sister and be so protective over her throughout the weekend. Very cute.
McLaren
Two very different outcomes, one I'm overjoyed for and one I'm absolutely devastated and it was hard seeing Oscar after that race. Like I have never seen him where his voice is wobbling when he was asked how he was feeling. Broke my heart.
I'm ngl Lando absolutely earned that race win. He got pole, he kept that p1 off the line, he controlled the race, even when he very much almost fucked it, the team managed to regather him with strategy (thank the fucking lord). He got fastest lap, he got driver of the day and it was all deserved imo with his performance like especially his fight with Max at the end, I was fully prepared for Max to use that DRS and make a dive.
I know some people might say Oscar was flying but he was pushing while Lando was coasting and when we saw Lando start to push, he was gone and Oscar just couldn't keep up. So still some work to do on tyres for Oscar imo, he has improved but he's just got to be more careful especially when he's behind and not priority for strategy because of that. I think we'll see Oscar with another opportunity to win, we know there's some sort of curse with the podium and Australians in Melbourne. It was a really really hard watch. But positives to take away, he is right there behind Lando and he made a very very sexy overtake on Lewis at the end and knocked Lewis who is praised for his wet drives down to p10 which is something to be proud of given the expectations for Lewis coming into Ferrari this season (I have more to say about this too dw). Also didn't even notice Lily's reaction but just seen a clip of it, I know that was hard to watch for us but I can't imagine how Lily and his family felt watching that. It's gotta be an impossible feeling and they'll have to try and comfort him.
I think it'll be a McLaren 1-2 next week, which way around? Lando is VERY strong around China so it's hard to make the call as to who will be the race winner. But I'm confident either way around it will be McLaren...unless it's wet again, maybe someone else will pop up randomly.
Red Bull
Max...I mean incredible for him to be P2 in that car. Not necessarily surprising, even on Friday I had thoughts he would be in with a chance of winning bc Red Bull have a habit of always looking pretty shit on Fridays and then fixing stuff over night and looking amazing for qualifying and the race. So incredible but not surprising. As always with Max, I look forward to seeing what he can do for the rest of the year and just how close he can still fight to maintain a championship. Although shall we take a minute to commemorate his championship leading streak coming to an end.
Liam...oh Liam. Oh lord the second Red Bull seat immediately pressing on his throat. Even Checo would have strong starts to the year. I know people are going to say he's testing stuff and he's being used to see how things work and blah blah blah but qualified only ahead of 1 Haas since Bearman didn't actually partake in qualifying. That's bad. Like even by rookie standards, he was in the second best car for the rookies and he only outqualified the one who didn't take part. That's worrying. This isn't hate, this is concern. Because even on track he never got further than the Haas'. I personally don't like the man but even I'm not being harsh when I say that Red Bull expect more than that. Not to mention he crashed and he doesn't have the excuse of other rookies who never experienced a chaotic wet race in an F1 car. I think Liam's lucky that they don't have a back-up to replace him with mid-season, unless they want to risk Hadjar in that seat. Because otherwise I'd say he's under the biggest threat of losing that seat, but they don't have that so I think he's safe at least till 2026. He's got to show better pace though, like being out of the points the whole race and then crashing...they might as well have just stuck with Checo who at least brought a hell of a lot of money in sponsor to the team which rn they definitely need since they're not going to win the constructors.
Ferrari
If in doubt, trust Ferrari to fuck strategy. I do have to laugh that Lewis fans genuinely seemed to believe they'd fixed their strategy issue in time for Lewis' arrival (spoiler it was actually Carlos doing the leg work for that and now he's gone). Idk what it is about rain and Ferrari but they cannot make a good call in a wet race if a gun was held to their head. I'm sorry Lewis fans but you should've heeded the warnings.
Very concerning that both Williams and Sauber who only had one driver finish the race are ahead in the constructors standings (I know it won't last long but like Ferrari what is that?)
Charles? I mean man is fighting for best radio messages this year that's for certain. He had me laughing so hard with his leaking water messages. He was disappointed from qualifying, I didn't see him after the race yet but I can't imagine he was overjoyed. In fact I imagine there's some interview where he said "it's like this" which iykyk is a bad sentence to hear from Charles.
As for Lewis, I said it before and I'll say it again. Ferrari did too much setting him up as going to be the greatest thing since the colour red. They should've moved in silence throughout the break and in the run up to the season. And just waited. They built him up and that race was a disaster for him. From the strategy to his radio messages where he basically shut down communicating with them and refused to take their suggestions or requests. That's a bad sign, hopefully they discuss things after the race and really work to improve that moving forward from both parties but we saw that from Lewis last year at his absolute worst with Mercedes when they just stopped caring about him. For that to be what we see in his first race with Ferrari, I'm worried for him and how he's really settling into the team. Obviously language barriers and Charles can communicate fluently with the team. It's not gonna be as easy as I think Lewis' fans thought it would be and it might not be that successful either.
I do have to say seeing Charles overtake Lewis like he did, I think Lewis is going to have to get used to that. Obviously that was an area him and George often butted heads as teammates, Lewis did not like being challenged by George (ik some people might not like that but it was true) and I do think he's going to find that Charles is quite similar to George in that he's unrelenting and will not concede unless directly told by the team.
A team to keep an eye on for team dynamic, priority and results that's for certain.
Williams
I mean Alex Albon. That's a boss man. Allegedly Carlos was in the garage helping with strategy after he crashed, which he did a lot in Ferrari so honestly no surprise there. But he's got the team above Ferrari in the standings...maybe once Carlos has the car under him...maybe...Williams will surprise us?
Idk I'm rooting for them very heavily. Easily my second favourite line up for the teams (after Lando/Oscar) for combination of drivers. I think James was overexcited saying they're the best line up, but they are definitely the best lineup Williams has seen in a long time.
Obviously not great to see Carlos crash, if it was something with the car which James seemed to agree there was something off that meant Carlos wasn't entirely to blame. Then I do think it's hard to swallow but not representative of what to expect from Carlos moving forward.
Mercedes
George, ngl I think he had quite a lonely race. He was sort of in no man's land. Too quick for Albon and Yuki, but too slow for the McLaren's and Max. Idk how he's always there to collect reward when there's an accident (maybe carrying Bottas Monza 2021 energy a little too much these days 🤣). I mean great for him, right place at the right time and Mercedes hasn't wavered in being one of the best for strategy, they made all the right calls and George got on a podium in a car that quite honestly I didn't expect to be ahead of Ferrari going into this weekend.
Kimi I've already discussed but again just amazing from him, Mercedes did not let him down for strategy and yeah he got the penalty (didn't actually see any evidence for as to why, like no replays which is annoying) but still a top 5 finish on debut at 18? That's very very good especially with where he started.
The rest (sorry we're spewing through the others)
Hulk and Stroll...clearly good strategy for them bc they randomly got in the points ahead of the Ferrari's. Ngl good to see from Sauber, getting more points in the first race than they got all season last year. I know Bortoleto crashed but he is a rookie and he was not the only one.
Alonso...I mean lowkey, expect more from him. I know wet races are very hit or miss and the Aston is a hard car to get a read on for drivability. But hopefully this is not foreshadowing his season moving forward.
Yuki drove incredibly, I'm so fucking angry on his behalf because that strategy came straight from Marko who doesn't want Yuki to look like he's doing too well and if they can prevent him from doing well then they will do whatever that have to. Ok...maybe that's very dramatic of me but there is something suspicious going on that Yuki does amazing, maintains position for almost the whole race and then when the one opportunity for them to fuck over the only RB driver still on track appears, they do? Mmm...
Alpine, Doohan another victim of the rookie wet race spin that took him out. Again something to use as a means of learning. Gasly, he did what he could with what he had. Didn't see much of him tbh so at least he kept out the drama. P11, so out of the points but I mean he finished the race so you take the wins where you can.
Haas...just look so slow. Obviously not Bearman's weekend at all, but again finished the race. Ocon again not much screen time and just sort of stuck at the back. Only thing I can credit them with is that they kept up with Lawson in a Red Bull till he crashed.

“Meguru, this is not a good id-” your hushed words were cut off as Bachira pressed his hungry lips against yours, forcing your back against the unfamiliar mattress.
As much as you tried to protest, you couldn’t help but melt into your brother’s touch, shoulders relaxing as you threw your arms around his neck and finally reciprocated his kiss. Bachira wastes no time, using his knee to spread your legs open, and rub his toned thigh against your core. You got lost in the pleasure briefly, letting out the tiniest of moans before you heard a thump downstairs, gasping as you pushed Bachira away from you.
“This is so fucking stupid,” you whispered again, leaning your head against your brother’s chest, still searching for his comfort even in moments like this where you wanted to wring his neck.
Bachira refused to quit, pushing you back against the pillows so he could mouth at your neck, freeing one of his hands to massage you over your panties.
“You act like you hate it, but you still get so wet from me,” Bachira taunted, the signature singsong nature of his voice matching the stupid grin on his face.
All you could do is groan – he was right. It didn’t matter that he had manhandled you all the way up the stairs of your house to throw you into your parent’s bed in hopes of humiliating you, your panties were still soaked from the thought of your brother’s hands on you.
This was all because you had asked him to chill out, at least a little bit. Bachira had always had a thing for exhibitionism and risky places, absolutely loved the high he got from almost getting caught balls deep into his little sister. But he had started to get a little too risky.
Your and Bachira’s relationship had started out pretty innocently – at least as innocent as sexually pursuing your brother could be, anyway. It all began a few months ago when you had let yourself into Meguru’s room to give him his laundry, only to find him shooting white spurts into his fist as he moaned your name. Your name. He invited you in, amber eyes full of mirth, to come help him clean up the mess with your mouth.
First, it was just blowjobs and fingering in the darkness of your bedrooms with the door locked. You were a virgin, so it was okay for your big brother to be three fingers deep into your cunt as he mouthed at your clit, he was just showing you how your future lovers ought to treat you!
But you never thought you’d go further than that, never thought you’d have real sex. Until you did. Shitfaced after a party thrown for a big win for Bachira’s soccer team, he quietly led you to an empty bedroom and laid you down, jumping at the opportunity to slide right into your unresisting pussy. And even though you were drunk and more easily influenced than normal, you didn’t put up a fight – you even found yourself moaning for more, more, more.
Once that line was crossed there was no going back. You fucked whenever Bachira pleased, and wherever Bachira pleased. On a bench in the locker room, in between stacks of books at your university library, behind trees in public parks. But his favorite places were anywhere in your house, specifically when your parents were home. Bachira liked bending you over the kitchen counter in the middle of the night as your parents slept soundly upstairs, shoving his cock down your throat while the two of you were “washing up” for dinner, and fingering you under the blankets as you all watched TV together in the living room. There was no surface in that house the two of you hadn’t fucked on.
The thrill of not just anyone, but your parents finding out the two of you were fucking excited Bachira so much he could almost cum untouched. He was getting too reckless, though. There were only so many excuses as to why grown siblings constantly slept in each other’s beds and shared blankets, and it didn’t help that he was always hanging all over you. Brothers don’t spoon their sisters from the back and kiss their necks as they cook breakfast.
So you gently approached Bachira, and put it in the most gentle words possible to ask him if he could tone it down just a little bit. You weren’t proposing an end to your activities, just to slow down – and keep it in more private areas. Bachira didn’t take it well.
And that’s how you found yourself in the sheets of your parents’ bed right after they had left for work, mattress still warm from where their forms had been resting not too long prior. You knew it was futile to try and resist Bachira when he got like this, when his eyes went wide and his pupils blew as he narrowed his eyebrows, setting his sights on you – his prey.
He wouldn’t listen as you tried to tell him how bad of an idea it was.
“You know Mom always forgets shit and has to come back,” you whined as he grabbed your wrists and kissed your neck. “And I’m almost positive that’s her house key on the dresser, ‘Guru.” You shuddered at the thought of your innocent mother walking into her own bedroom just to grab her key only to find her son rutting desperately into her daughter.
“That’s what makes this fun,” Bachira giggled, biting your throat.
His face was partially obscured by his morning-mussed fringe as he leaned back to yank your sleep shorts off, but you could still see his smirk that had yet to melt away.
“God, you’re so fucking wet, love,” he groaned, running his fingers up and down your slit. “About to make such a mess all over Mom and Dad’s sheets.” You just hid your face in your hands.
You almost lost all your inhibitions as Bachira spread your legs with his rough palms to spit on your pussy and run the flat of his tongue from your clit to your hole, the lewd sounds of his saliva and your slick almost drowning out the anxious thoughts that rang in your ear. The bedroom door was open.
His tongue swirled around and flicked at your throbbing clit as he slid two fingers knuckle deep into your hole, curling and pumping in the exact ways he knew would make you come undone. Bachira had you and your body memorized by heart, and he weaponized that knowledge.
But everything was forgotten as he sunk his thick cock inside you, crying out as he stretched you open, both hands fisting the sheets. You almost drooled at the sight of his toned, muscly athlete body flexing as he thrusted into you quick but methodically.
The yellow tufts of hair at the base of his neck curled up at the ends as they were drenched in his sweat, chest heaving as he fucked into you with primal hunger and desire. You could tell the excitement of fucking in your parents’ bed was driving Bachira absolutely wild, his cock throbbing inside you.
“A-ahh, Meguru, feels so fucking g-good,” you whined, unable to deny the pleasure overwhelming your body as his cock rubbed against your sweet spot and kissed your cervix with every thrust.
Bachira only grinned at the praise. “Want more, baby?” Your frantic nod was all he needed.
Suddenly he was flipping you over, pressing your face into the pillow as he pushed back into your sopping wet cunt, marveling at the thick layer of cream that coated his cock. His hand intertwined with yours, squeezing your fingers as he fucked you deep into the mattress. With this position, presenting your ass for him like this, he can see the exact way your hole struggled to stretch around his length, the ring pulsing as it tugged with every thrust in and out. It was nicer for you too, being unable to see the bedroom door wide open, a disgusting reminder of what could be found out.
“Can’t last much longer like this, darlin’,” Bachira groaned into your ear, biting the lobe. “Not when you’re taking me so good like this.” You could only whine in response, your fingers tightening around his own. “Can I come inside you? You’ve never let me before, would love to see what it’s like.” You couldn’t see him, but you could hear the devilish smirk in his voice. Yet again, words had failed you, nodding into the pillow.
Bachira’s pace impossibly quickened as he chased the tightening feeling in his gut, leaving you gasping for air as his bony hips slammed into your ass over and over. His body stuttered and he gasped as he came, coating your walls with cum as he groaned into your ear. The second he pulled out you could feel it gushing out of your hole, dripping down your thighs and pooling onto the sheets. You hoped your parents either wouldn’t notice or wouldn’t question why you had decided to strip their bed and wash their sheets for them.
You leaned into your brother’s grasp as he gathered you into his arms, pressing your head against his warm chest. His fingertips danced up and down your back, pressing a kiss into your mussed hair.
“Love you so, so much, Meguru,” you sighed, kissing his chest.
“Love you too, darling. This is what happens though when you try to push me away,” he cooed, a slight edge to his voice.
“I know. I won’t do it again, I promise. I love you.” Your words were garbled as fatigue consumed you. Surely your parents wouldn’t mind the two of you napping in their bed together?
Bachira only smirked as he eyed the forgotten house key on your mother’s dresser, knowing the two of you didn’t have much longer to get decent and get the hell out of there. But that’s just the way he liked it.

Peacefull
Tumblr media
Hola todos ♥
This is a request and I realise only now that "Laia" can be Laia Codina too *Pan* So I hope this is what you wanted dear anon.
Resume : Sweats moments with your girlfriend, the morning after a big win.
Have you all a good day :)
______________________________________________________________
Feeling a ray of sunshine caressing your face, you lazily stretch in your bed. You feel the softness of the sheet on and under your half-naked body and the duvet that still covers you completely. You are still half asleep and you gradually realize the things around you.
The fact that the sun can pass through your roller blinds tells you that it should not be far from 12 o'clock, unless this hour is already passed. Paradoxically, the apartment and its surroundings seem to be particularly quiet. It must be said that it’s located at the top of the building and that it hides a lot the traffic noises of Manchester. And besides, it’s Sunday.
You smile in your half-sleep state, feeling the hand then the arm of your girlfriend slip on your belly and your waist while you are lying on your back. Turning your head in her direction, you open an eye to see that she's awake even if she is also still well wrapped under the duvet. You close your eyes and settle back more comfortably, unconsciously getting closer to Laia. She takes the opportunity to lie down on you so that you can place her face on your collarbone and you pass your arms around her waist.
"Buenos días mi Amor"
Your girlfriend’s still asleep/raspy voice makes you smile, especially when you hear her speak in her native language. You have always found it particularly sexy, you who come from Canada. You love her accent, which tends to come out when she’s tired or angry. You lazily lay a kiss on her hair, discreetly inspiring the smell of her shampoo.
"Good morning campeona"
You played a game last night and Laia scored her first goal in Manchester City. Needless to explain the pride you felt when you saw her do it. Stuck on your goal line, you couldn’t rush to her to congratulate her, but you tried to show it once you both came home last night after the party your team organised. You were both tipsy but it was perfect as always. This in addition to the match yesterday probably explains the state of fatigue you both find yourself this morning.
You feel Laia move on on you to deposit kisses on your face, making you smile.
"Five more minutes, Love" you mumble as she continues, running along your jaw with her lips.
"I’ve already spent 30 minutes watching you sleep"
"My girlfriend is a psychopath, I should have known. She was far too perfect" you keep mumbling in a sleepy voice.
Laia laughs and you can’t help but smile when you hear her. Her laughter is like music to your ears and you end up opening your eyes after she places an ultimate kiss on your lips.
"I am hungry"
Laia’s complaint makes you roll your eyes while smiling. You put both your legs and arms around her to stick her against you, preventing her from moving.
"I said five more minutes"
It's the Spanish woman’s turn to roll her eyes, but she lets you do it willingly, drawing shapes on your belly with the tips of her fingers. You start dozing again, enjoying the caresses of your girlfriend. You moved in together a few weeks ago and you quickly got used to the idea to wake up and fall asleep everyday next to Laia.
"If you get up now, I promise you to make the pancakes you love" Laia state, making you open an eye to look at her.
"With chocolate chips?"
She humms before straightening up to deposit a new kiss on your lips. This girl knows how to talk to you.
"Continue like this and it’s you that I will eat for breakfast" you joke before gently releasing her.
She smiles at you maliciously and kisses you again before getting out of the heat offered by the duvet. Her movement makes a cold draught of air pass under the duvet, making you groan and shiver. You turn to your side and watch Laia put on the satin bathrobe you offered her for her birthday. With her tan skin and her light hair, she’s glowing.
"Qué?" she asks when she sees you looking at her.
"You're just so beautiful" you simply answer her, before laughing gently seeing her blush.
She throws you a pillow before running away from the bedroom to go to the kitchen. Rolling on your back again, you stretch for a long time before deciding to get up in your turn. You go through the bathroom to refresh yourself before returning to the room to put on a flocked football jersey named Aleixandri.
You follow in Laia’s footsteps to the kitchen, finding her making you breakfast. You smile when you see her tiptoe to grab the chocolate chip package at the top of the closet. When she has mixed the precious ingredient with the rest of the dough, you discreetly approach her to pass her arms around her waist from behind and squeeze her against you.
Her startle makes her squeek and you laugh gently, making you forgive by putting a kiss in her neck.
"It’s smells good baby" you whisper against her skin, smiling when you feel the chills that it causes her.
You keep tickling her in the neck with your lips, an amused smile stuck to your face.
"Such a tease" she mumbles before turning around in your arms.
You kiss her gently, tenderly, for a few minutes, until the first side of the pancakes is cooked.
"What do you have planned today?" you ask while continuing to watch her cook, keeping her in your arms.
"Nothing special. Ona has to call me this afternoon, but that’s it. You want to go for a walk in the forest?"
You look out the window, happy to see that the sun is always present in a blue sky. Unreal for an October in England, but you really love this season like this.
"Sounds like a perfect plan"

Tumblr media
It's been a while since I made appearance in battles and made noise in the dancing scene. But my presence is always mentioned even though I don't appear. It's not gonna be easy for them to get rid of my name. Especially with how many I contributed to the community.
And for that people recognize and appreciated me. I appeared in battles globally and gave recognition and wins while representing my country. I made way for them to be recognized, and even though I took a hiatus. Because of an injury, it was not lethal but it required me to rest for a while.
People still wanna get involved in me. And my business and personal relationships. It's not a secret that I am in a long term relationship with who is known as the Professors of Dancers. They constantly wanna get updates about what's happening with our relationship.
While we're in the middle of our dinner date, in our favorite restaurant. Monika suddenly opened up about the new opportunity. "So I was offered to create a crew and participate in a new show." She said, not beating around the bush.
"That's great love!" I said enthusiastically, still enjoying the food. "Can I?" I asked softly, knowing from her expression that my question is bugging her. I observed her hesitant face.
"Sooni knows right?" She nod, almost hesitantly. She gave me the look. The look that's telling me that this is bothering her. But there is still something inside her that wants me to join."Please?" I reach for her hand to further convince her.
"You're injured" She finally let out, I let out a small sigh. "I wouldn't wanna risk your health." I just stared at her, Monika started to bite her lips as she observed my reaction. She waited nervously for any answer, her grip on my hands tightened as worry seeps inside her.
"Darling? Say something..." Her voice so small, she doesn't know why she's feeling nervous. Probably it was because she still didn't know if I would or could continue dancing.
"I'm already healed... Please Monika, I'll be very careful" the look of anticipation spread all over my face as she played with my fingers. A moment of silence passed between us before I asked.
"What's the show?" she almost relaxed and explained what show it is. And that confirmed my question. As the producer also contacted me about it but I still haven't responded. Because I know that they'll contact her and I wanna be with her in this competition.
It's heartwarming that they are finally recognizing dancers. "Alright, I'll do it with you." I squealed and kissed her in celebration. "You promise to be careful?" She asked, the doubtful thoughts made its way because of my situation.
Suddenly, the people in the restaurant is forgotten, Monika placed her chair next to you, she took both of your hands with hers.
"You deserve to be there Y/n. You could be the judge because of how big of a contribution you made. And I know this has always been your passion, but I wouldn't want you causing yourself harm because of doing something you love. So promise me, please?." She begged for my safety, she knows how carefree I can be when I'm in my element.
But for her, I'll be careful so I wouldn't worry her. I nodded sincerely at her. Promising her wholeheartedly.
"So what's next?" Just then the mood shifted into something lighter. We're already suggesting ideas with each other. Picking the crew member and the name of the crew.
The competition came sooner. Luckily, years of experience came in handy. You came back to practicing and even teaching classes at Monika's studio, trying to get used to it again so I wouldn't get overwhelmed. And it's honestly good to be back.
And into the dance battle you go. When you descend down the stairs. You look at each crews there. PROWDMON's presence is certainly overwhelming, you can see how nervous the other crew are. But PROWDMON greeted them with energy, especially Monika who's making jokes as we made our way to our seat.
"I like this." I blurted out to Monika. While smiling at the crews. Monika's arm is wrapped around my waist as we settled. I am honestly happy. I was about to point out the energy when our crew performance is flash on the screen.
"That's us." Monika pointed, and we immediately payed attention to the screen moving closer to see it better. YGX was the first to comment, and it was safe. The other crew pointed out MoLip's career and mine.
It was all jokes and laughters between other crews because of their comments about the age. But then it took a completely different turn.
When other crew mentioned my name, I remained focus. My eyes on the screen as I listened to what they are saying after complementing me and my contributions.
"But y/n saem, has been on hiatus." Other crew pointed out and the rest of the other crews followed, "so I'm really curious to see her."
"I wonder if her skill reduced"
"Would she still be the same after that injury and break? I doubt that she'll still be the same."
"She looks far too soft here."
I nodded calmly at their words. In my peripheral vision I can see that those who said their words were nervous. But I gave them an assuring and comforting smile. But Monika is certainly not happy with their words.
Disbelief noises left PROWDMON's members they all commented and defended me proudly, looking at crews who said those words as they stare at them in warning.
Monika and I remained silent, me because I was still focused on the screen while Monika because she did not like their comments. Not one bit. The look on her face changed, and she would voice it out.
"I hate that." Monika's authoritative voiced echoed around the room. Suddenly, the air was tense. When the energy of PROWDMON changed. They all remained silent, some not meeting our eyes. They have all the nerves to say those words when we are not in front of us.
But where did those nerves go?
Before Monika could say something else. It was my turn to wrap my arm around her waist. Finally, the torture has ended and we returned to our seat with the members heavy footsteps. Monika looked at the crews once again, warning them with her commanding eyes.
"It's fine" I took her hand and kiss it to calm her down. Her breath heaved as she tried to relax. "Calm down babe, it's chill." I calmly stated but Monika would not tolerate such behavior.
The other crews saw the interaction you both are having, they gulp as they saw you tame the beast which is Monika. Some of them whispering how you prove their point about you being "too soft" because of your attitude this time.
The show's MC was introduced and the program continues. And the no respect battle was introduced. Dancers are given some time to change into something comfortable that they can dance while wearing.
Prowdmon are in their hideout doing their own thing, you're fixing your sleeves when Monika made her way closer to you. She present her arm, and you chuckle before helping her fix her white sleeves.
"Don't mind them okay?" She tuck your hair behind your ears before she caress your cheeks affectionately. But your serious gaze made her say something, "I don't like their words towards you." You gave her a soft smile before Hyo Won came for your defense.
"They don't know what they're talking about." The other members chants follows "Show them! Show Them!" We all gather together for a group hug before the screen told us to go back.
Once the crews are settled. The battle began, and as much as this is a competition. It is also a show. And the crews enjoyed the performance of those in the battle ground.
"The dancer that I can beat is..." there was a long pause in Rihey's words as she scan the crews one by one. Until our crew name PROWDMON came out. I smiled, knowing who it is already. It was expected as she was one of the many that says a lot about me.
"PROWDMON Y/n." They let out collective gasps and wows. My team stayed silent with proud faces as they know what's bound to happen. I just smiled as I walk to the stage.
Just happy to be back. I nodded my head at Rihey not dropping my smile. The MC introduced us before the song started playing. I gave her a nod, acknowledging that she will go first.
Her body started following the rhythm as she started dancing. The look on my eyes and face changed. Suddenly the tension became heavier as they thought that this would be a light hearted moment.
I tilted my head, my face stoic as she tried to taunt me while dancing. I gave a small smirk while she bounced and dance desperately. She is good, I gave her that.
I approve but I'm not her to evaluate her. I'm her competition and Competition I am.
"Switch to PROWDMON Y/N!" Loud cheers erupted, I let myself soak in their cheers. Completely turning into the person that they all know.
"Make it bounce up, Make it bounce up" the crowd cheered as I lip synced the lyrics. I step up. Calm before the storm.
Then, me and the music became one. I managed to kneel in the first few seconds. Bouncing while on my knees as I popped.
As I move my whole body. The audience move with me. The unity and cohesiveness of my dance is undeniable and unmatched.
There was no denying that when you dance, you stole the whole room's attention. Your presence demanded and attracted them. And it doesn't help that your expression is perfect. The way you convey the mood through your face.
The way your body sways with the music. You flow like a wave, smooth and hard, your moves crystal like the water. And your dance range wide like the ocean. You orchestrate the room with your movements.
They all scream when they saw how impactful you are. You gesture to the now mesmerized Rihey. Making her dance like she's someone being sway by the wave. Your influence and presence is totally unmatched.
You look like a different person. You, but still different. Whoever underestimated you is now proven. You did not grow weaker. But you came back stronger despite having something that would make you weaker.
Your audience screamed and clap once you're done. You bowed in respect. You heard them talk and they were overwhelmed with the battle. Rihey and you put out a legendary fight.
You laugh when they threw their shoes and some threw their banner. Rihey makes her way closer to you and she bowed. You gave her a sweet smile before giving her a hug.
"That was WOW" the Daniel shake his head and let out an impressed noise. "Indeed it was, I can't believe I'm blessed to witness that" Boa added, your eyes twinkling as you wait for their vote.
Monika's voice is the loudest when she saw how you won with unanimous vote. You bowed to your opponent and hopped back to your teammates.
"I'm so proud! I'll definitely treat you later" she marveled with you in her arms. You melted into her arms for a moment before the rest of PROWDMON went in for a group hug.
You laugh altogether before you settle back to your seats, faces all proud. Victory is certainly a good look in your team. And not only were you marveling in victory but also you were all genuinely happy to be there.
Once the episode shoot is finished. You said goodbye to the rest of the crew with the next mission in mind. You all decided to have dinner together some other time.
Your smirk went back on your face as you look at Monika mischievously. You brought your face closer to her ear, making sure to caress her hand as you whisper, voice slow and low.
"I can't wait for that treat"
