Standing there before you is some sort of creature? No, this must be the Beetlejuice guy. He's in a black-and-white striped tuxedo, complete with some typical black shoes. Though, it's all dirty, covered in green spots from here to there. His hair is a pale green, sticking out in all different directions, and his eyes are surrounded by black circles, and you can't tell if it's a fashion choice or not. "Hiya, Babes!", he says, his voice still raspy and rough. "H-Hello..", you reply, slightly still startled. He comes over and sits on the roof in front of you. "So, I heard ya' called m'name three times! Tre!", he says as he's holding up three fingers, his fingernails looking a little overgrown. 'He knows Italian? How strange...', you think. He puts his elbows on his knees, and lays his head on his hand, in a relaxed position. "So what's a pretty lil' thing like YOU doing, callin' a bio-exorcist?", he says, his eyes filled with flirtation. Damn. Straight to the point, you guess. Don't worry, I don't bite-", he says as his hands come back to his knees and he leans closer.

"Unless... if you're into that sort of thing, Babes..", he says as he winks, his voice suddenly changed. It's no longer raspy and rough, but DAMN, it's smooth and gentle. You feel your cheeks flush, definitely flustered from his flirtatious remark. "I- uh, uhm-...", you stutter, trying to find the words to respond. He chuckles at your reaction, and he replies to you stuttering, "So, what do ya say, Babes? Wanna make a deal with the devilishly sexy?”.

He's so close to your face now, it's almost burning with electricity. You nod slowly, not knowing how else to respond. You've been holding your breath for a long time now, but your lungs are far from their limit. He winks, and brushes your thigh with his hand, and snaps his fingers. You release the breath you've been holding, as you realize that he's dissappeared into a cloud of smoke, leaving you breathless. "Damn, that voice..."

starting off with asta, a husky/coyote mutt!! :D in my au, devil users end up becoming hybrids of whatever their devil is. so since liebe is a coyote, that's what asta is too!! (also, i haven't drawn him yet, but yuno is a malamute :D similar looking breeds but different since they're not actually related!)

then of course, noelle, who's a saluki!! a very regal breed for a very royal gal!! i thought making her pigtails into her ears was a fun idea HEHEHE

here's finral, he's a shetland sheepdog!! gentle and sweet and always trying to herd his people together :) you might notice that with some of my designs, i end up doing extra scarring; that's usually just personal headcanons, as i think some injuries would be too grievous to fully heal. though some (for instance, gauche) don't have a canon story behind them, i just think they're fitting

vanessa, who's a cavalier king charles spaniel!! her ears sorta blend into her hair lol, i had an alternate version where they were the same darker brown as her fur but i decided that them blending in looked better and fit the breed standard as well.

gauche, the ever wary american akita!! being a fiercely loyal and protective breed, but aloof and suspicious of strangers.

then there's grey, who's a long-haired chihuahua!! sweet and skittish HEHE, also i haven't drawn it yet but i've always imagined her big transformation disguise that she's first introduced as to be a rottweiler LOL

next up is luck, a jack russell terrier!! i've always thought this was a very fitting breed pick, intelligent but highly energetic and a little mischievous !!!

and of course, magna is never far behind luck; he's a dobermann pinscher!! similar to luck in energy and intelligence, but even more fiercely protective of his loved ones.

GORDON!!! actually one of my favourite black clover characters, he's a dalmatian not only because of the fitting aesthetic, but also because of his kind and sensitive personality!

the masked supermage zora, a german shepherd! watchful and sometimes stubborn but loyal nonetheless made this pick fairly easy to come to. though, before getting to see more of him, my initial pick was actually a kai ken!

charmy's design is one that i'm the most proud of for sure; i mentioned in an earlier post that the different peoples are different species of animals. well charmy is a half toy poodle, half american badger!! i thought a badger was a VERY fitting pick, as they are generally unbothered by much unless their food is threatened LOL

and finally, lastly (for now) is nero!! she's a bull terrier, but i really wanted to keep her twin tails from her anti-bird form! her outfit is definitely the one i edited the most, i just wanted to give her something more practical out of personal preference.

additionally, henry is an old english sheepdog, nacht is a black norwegian elkhound/fox, and yami is a wolfdog!

I HAVE SOME OTHER CHARACTERS DOODLED HERE AND THERE but nothing else really finished yet. if there's a specific character anyone would like to see i would be SO happy to draw/doodle them to show off!! i honestly have a huge list of dog/cat breeds picked out for every character i could think of; i just am hellishly indecisive and can never pick who to start on next AHDSJAGDJSDK

I feel like Xaden is the kind of guy who doesn't really see a point in celebrating his birthday or care about it at all, so only a few people know when it is.

he’s also impossible to buy presents for, because first of all, he’s loaded and could buy anything he wants, but also, he doesn’t really want anything. he’s a very practical guy, with no real hobbies besides working out and trying to keep all of his friends alive, and he never talks about wanting anything material, either.

in my au, I could definitely see Garrick and Angel (and later on, Bodhi and Liam and the second-year gfs) finding some way to do something special for him each year at Basgiath, but keeping it kinda quiet, because they know he doesn't like to be the center of attention. maybe one single chocolate cupcake appears in his room with new daggers or some other small, practical presents (including a wood carving from Liam, of course.)

he might talk a lot of shit about not caring about the day, but it still means a lot to him to have his friends remember and care. he shows up at breakfast in an uncannily good mood, wearing the new daggers or whatever else they got him, and gives them a quiet thank you. of course, Garrick is going to squeeze the life out of him in a hug and mess up his hair, and there’s that scowl we know and love again — but you all know that he isn’t really mad.

if they're at Riorson house, Duchess is going to make a slightly bigger deal of it bc that's her little bro!! she's doing all the Tyrrish birthday traditions (whatever they are), Darling is baking a cake for him with Angel… X just lets it happen because he knows the women won’t budge. his one concession is that there’s no singing — anything but singing. and there is absolutely no way you're getting him into one of those paper hats, either.

in canon, I think it would be pretty similar (quiet celebration, little gifts for him to find), but Garrick is doing most of the work (and then eventually Bodhi and Liam too as they come to Basgiath). Garrick knows his birthday since they grew up together, same with Bodhi, and Liam would have learned it in their years of being fostered together. 

when Violet figures it out (Liam or Bodhi would tell her, because they're captaining this ship) she’s going to do something special for him too. chocolate cake is definitely happening, and maybe a long heartfelt letter for him to find in his room. and there's going to be a lightning storm around midnight that everyone is going to ignore hehe

Interesting question re: the f! versus m! versions of the LIs. This is just personal taste, I don't think any of them are more or less loveable based on gender!, but I do think f!Rayyan is more attractive to me than her male counterpart, while for G & Sam it's the opposite - I exclusively romance their male counterparts. Tobin is the same for me in both versions, but I still prefer f!Tobin simply because I prefer playing as a woman hehe. For context, I am a bisexual woman leaning more towards women, buuut I'm really into gnc women and I guess G and Sam both just feel like they fall outside a category I am attracted to :'o f!G feels more femme fatale as a woman, and f!Sam is very cute.

For G, I totally agree. I feel the pivotal traits that shape them (cynicism, stoicism about life and what life throws at them, adapting to circumstance, instead of stubbornly sticking to 'what they want', their parents' divorce, being caught between worlds and used to living in multiple places at once—Canadian-French from their mom and French-French from their dad, their intense commitment to their belief that things don't last, and you can't expect them to) feel more... attractive to me in a woman than a man (because lord knows we have enough flaky non-committal men in this world), but I think that's probably a subjective opinion.

For Tobin, I think it's inevitable that their softness/gentleness AND their queerness is influenced by their gender, and I love that idea, and I hope to explore more of that later on. For M!Tobin, I feel like they've always had to deal with the fact that they're a little "too" soft for what the world expects from them (a black american in the ultimately super-machismo world of sports), and they've always at least "fit in" with the rest of their team because of their athletic prowess AND how much attention they get from the ladies. Now, exploring their sexuality, having to come to terms with the fact that they are attracted to men as well (and what to do with that information)... I think it adds an extra layer of vulnerability.

As for F!Tobin, I think there's similar tensions—but in different ways. E.g. maybe they're the way they are, so gentle and considerate and kind because, in some ways, they're compensating (subconsciously or consciously) with the stereotype that black women athletes are "too powerful", "too fierce", and they've only ever wanted to be accepted, respected, loved, hence they've always been softer than they have to be, kinder than they have to be, more considerate etc. etc. But then they met MC, and perhaps they're learning to put that all away, and just... be. Without fear of being "too much"—with MC reassuring them that they're OK just the way they are, and that their strength and courage does not need to be tempered for anyone else's benefit.

And finally, for Rayyan, again, I absolutely agree—there's something about F!Rayyan and how, coming from a conservative immigrant Muslim family (e.g. there was that scene with a brief mention of how their dad never even thought they should be serious about turning pro, becoming a professional athlete especially because she's a girl), she's probably had to fight for absolutely everything she's wanted in this world, and that's why she's so steely on the outside, why she's so unapologetic about pursuing the things she wants because god knows the amount of sacrifice she's already put in. There's still that dimension in M!Rayyan, being an immigrant, threading that line between wanting to do their family proud, wanting to pursue their own dreams, ambition—so much ambition—but also fierce loyalty, and uncompromising, unyielding courage.

Sam feels the most... unchanged whether or not I imagine them as female or male, the experiences that made them the way they are (and how they interact with MC) are the same (e.g. being in love with your best friend, being extremely open about experimenting with literally any type of human romantically except the ONE person they actually love and trust with all their heart, scattered loveable goofball tennis nerd that they are).

You know I never noticed how small the bench was. One person piano benches are pretty normal, that's how mine is, too. But a lot of benches are also larger and while they're technically not made for two people, two people could sit on it if they wanted to.

Ahhh I LOVE the idea that the others sneak in while he's playing just to listen. And he just keeps going like it isn't happening...

He definitely brings the ones that fall asleep back to bed or covers them with something~ because Lucifer is actually a big softie.

OH NO the wings!!! But also why did you stay up until 6am that is bonkers 😩 I mean I know you have a unique sleep schedule but that's crazy lol! But I totally get it, I do the same thing when I'm really determined to finish something!

a masterpost of what i consider gay subtext in Uramichi Onii San - the Manga

not the Anime quite yet. no offense Touko Machida but I simply do not want to deal with two interpretations of the work at this point in time.

Generally Kinda Romantic Subtext Between Certain Characters that I Think Can Be Interpreted Either Way

Uramichi and Usahara I cite this for the near telepathic communication. Say what you will - married couples are known for this shit - and while it's definitely not anywhere close to confirmed that these two characters have strong feelings for each other, imo this was pretty gay of them. But to put it one way - are you really friends if people don't mistake you for a gay couple at times? imo not really.

additionally, while it might be just beginning chapter art...tell me where our favorite bunny is looking? Is he being respectful?

(honestly i do think usahara is straight but yk...this mangaka likes his gay men pathetic methinks so there is a chance!)

2. Uramichi and Iketeru

back when iketeru was in hs and uramichi's age isn't given - but i think they're the same age? anyway the lyrics over this scene are just...gay as hell. And they're helping a child find their mom. That is married couple behavior.

(obviously could just be a joke/not intended. their relationship is literally a gag on not understanding each other because iketeru is too happy for uramichi)

3. Kumatani and Iketeru

there's also some somewhat strong subtext between kumatani and iketeru. Like first, kumatani was the first guy who got the weird shirt iketeru found.

and next, the constant protection of iketeru from alcohol is courtesy of kumatani our mvp

he even protects him from our favorite loser

while not as extreme as his protection of HACHITA THE BABY it is still noticeable that Iketeru is someone he cares about.

and both kumatani and iketeru hid their love life from the camera (as did the whole cast hehe). Kumatani literally says his love life isn't family friendly - which can mean a lot of things, including that he's homosexual. Iketeru says it's too beautiful to be shared - which can mean anything really, even that he's straight and had a normal love life that he ain't willing to share.

Imo this sequence of behaviors can be read one of two ways. First of all, you'd have to be blind to not see the obvious resemblance between Iketeru and Hachita, so the affection and thus acceptance of strange gifts due to their similarity is natural. But also...gay? Hmmmmmmmmmm

4. Uramichi and Kumatani

They kind of just hang out a lot, and Kumatani regularly reads more positivity in Uramichi than is probably there. Not really as showstoppingly romantic as the other three examples of subtext, but imo still quite a nice bit of fun in its own right. They're probably the ship easiest to imagine writing besides kumatani and iketeru and my personal favorite but before we get to that...

Uramichi and Kikaku - a mostly one sided love story

This relationship isn't so much implied as it is easily ignorable yet true: it is obviously intended to be read as a love story of sorts, whether it be a gag about how lonely uramichi is and how he needs some emotional connection, or just plain 'he's gay'. This is literally the only guy who gets the door to Uramichi's heart regularly attempting to open treatment, let alone the fact that when Kikaku begs Uramichi to help him out with work he always agrees...maybe more so due to fear than genuine care but still.

there's probably more examples, but these are enough to prove my point imho

he also invites Kikaku to the first end of year party (there aren't any others at the time of writing, specifying in the case of a reader from the future)...or attempts to. Not to Saito Uebu or any other staff member - perhaps because he expects the ones he's closer to already be there, but still - specifically the guy who's only ever bothered him to help complete his work. It's what being horrifically lonely and dick brained does to you (i would know that best).

I haven't decided how just yet but I feel like a lot of the newer eggs will make intresting dynamics with all the kingdoms still being mid-war with each other basically. Tubbo's not connected to the two here in this au, sadly, I'd love to have them meet but he's not their godfather. Though work with me here, non-canon to this au for rn, but Tubbo on a diplomatic mission and suddenly meeting these two kids not realizing their Phil's. Just acting like he does with any child and their instantly enamored by the young man. CANONICAL HYBRID AND SPECIESSS, I can't make any au even slive of life where everyone is human, it's not my speed. Everyone in this has some kinda weird hybrid traits or otherwise something special for me and me alone. Niki's role to me in much of the soulfire streams wasn't agriculture or fighting but in general she was very much a scout. I can see her being very stealthy and trying to stay hidden while spying or scouting ahead of any party. Oh yes!! bases definitely had an influence but since these kingdoms have been around for a long while it means they're a lot more developed in their aesthetics! Soulfire definitely still has that warm glow to it that the og base had. I need to draw like a small room from each of these kingdoms and how it would look! maybe the kings rooms? That might be fun! :D Bagi and Bad are friends, or well as close as you can get at first when a demon council member finds you flirting with his co-worker. He found out quickly that Bagi and Tina have a thing and has been an annoyance since but he did also vouch for bagi and the other half of ggn when they came for help from Soulfire. TUBBO TIME HEHE. Lets start with co-leaders! Bad def gets on tubbo's nerves at first, trying to 'assist' him as a new king, however the two regularly are on the same wavelength about issues. Though bad does sometimes go extreme in his methods...Bad also is the one to regularly train Tubbo and give him the latest gadgets for battle. Tina meanwhile is constantly updating Tubbo on whats going on in the internals of soulfire, she's his eyes and ears for the base, she's one of his right hands and he knows that if he asks her for something she will have it done as fast as she can. Tubbo and Etoiles where good friends, seeing as Etoiles was already close to Aypierre, the two of them have known each other for longer than Tubbo has been king. He looks up to Etoiles in certain things and has always enjoyed one upping the other king in other regards. They where the honorable fighters, the ones who always kept their morlas, they where the two who understood each other in battle. Their relationship however takes a huge hit when Etoiles joins Bolas, even if he's still the honorable fighter, Tubbo won't forgive him for what he did. Tubbo's relation to the other king, Phil, is far more...strange. Phil of course has a poor relationship with Soulfire but when it comes to Tubbo the angel seems to view him in a semi-positive light. Tubbo is young, stubborn, and full of life. He would do amazing things if not cooped up with soulfire. Phil will eventually extend a hand to Tubbo, to go the same way as GGN, to give everything up for the freedom he promises. Another relationship I really wanna explore for him is his relationship to Aypierre. Since I kinda wanna keep a semi-antagonistic vibe they have in canon but in the lighthearted way they have pranks and jabs. It's not until things get very scary that they start fighting but for the most part I want them to feel like real brothers. They will jab, tease, prank and yell at each other but in the end Aypierre will always want Tubbo to be safe and protected. Tubbo will also always want his brother safe and away from anymore accidents (we can't keep building robots!!) Hope this was good!! It def is long I have a lot of ideas for this !!!

🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?

You know it's funny that you ask because getting into a character's head is actually one of my favorite things about writing! I usually don't have an awful lot of trouble with it unless I've started with an idea that I'm not as interested in as I thought.

So, there's probably been other times that I struggled but the one that I remember the best is Kaeya from Genshin LOL. I was never so super into Gempact but for a while I was playing it w my friends bc it was a Group Activity so I ended up writing a fair bit of fic just because I was so plugged into it. I stalled out on a fic from Kaeya POV that I was writing that I ended up wrapping up at what felt like it Could Be a stopping point and just posting what I had. The trouble with him, I think, is that he has this mysterious backstory that informs his character that's alluded to in events, objects around the world, etc, but I hadn't really gotten an understanding of that backstory. (I could have looked at the wiki I guess but I prefer to use the wiki to confirm stuff that I already knew or look up little bits of trivia; it doesn't feel right to learn everything about a character in a wiki review that might leave out important story or emotional context.)

THIS GOT LONG LOL tl;dr I was writing a lot of genshin fic even though i'm not really built to be a Gacha Lore Understander so i had some trouble with Kaeya!

i like sickfic hahaha;;;;;; if I'm being so real unless I get really extremely into something (eg. KNB or Yugioh) sickfic is the ONLY kind of fic I'll even read LOL. I've also written a lot of it myself, when I first got into fic writing I wrote it pretty much exclusively.

I didn't think this was gonna be a long answer but now i wanna talk about it LOL. I just think that when a character is ill (or injured tbh) the Vulnerability that it forces them into can be a really interesting trigger for changed character dynamics. You can have a standoffish or antagonistic character unwillingly in this position be treated gently, with kindness, and soften some of their relationships; alternatively, you can have their soft side come out if they're confronted with someone ELSE being vulnerable. You can have a character who tries to do Everything have to ask for help, you can have just plain fluff between characters with an established good relationship... it's even ok if characters act a bit out of character bc you can blame it on delirium LOL.

Essentially, unless you're getting really funky with it (which you can and it's fun!) a lot of sickfics follow a similar structure/set-up (character gets sick, character deals with being sick, other characters find out character is sick, they are now also dealing with it). Plot and structure is something that I still struggle with even now that I've stepped outside of writing sickfic exclusively, so at the time that I started writing, sickfic offered something of a baseline for me to write what I was really interested in (character dynamics) without having to think too much about the structure! Also it's fun haha >_< even though I've branched out I definitely still favor them quite a bit LOL

let's see. Sickfic Good for the reasons outlined above. I enjoy writing polyamory quite a bit too (character dynamics are so fun!!) but I don't write it as frequently as I'd like bc not all characters are built for it and it can get a bit complex besides.

OH. OH OH OH. teachers/mentor figures. my favorite fic that i've ever written is shockingly not a sickfic: it's called I Accidentally Fell In Love With My Childhood Friend The King And Now My Students Are Also My Sons!? and it's for one of my most favorite animes ever, Oushitsu Kyoushi Haine (The Royal Tutor). (I thought the silly light novel title was funny LOL)

The entire premise of the show is just This Guy Is An Extremely Good Teacher For These Four Misunderstood Students which like. Is lab-grown to be like catnip to me RAAAAAHHHHHHH i've watched the show twice through and cried at the end both times. Anyway. The fic I wrote is technically a ship fic between the royal tutor himself (Heine) and the king (Viktor) who hired him to teach his sons (they get married in this fic hehe >w<), but the focus is really on Heine's relationships with his students, and how they handle their favorite (only) teacher getting married to their father.

I feel like these descriptions don't do the anime or my fic justice LOL all I can really say is that as someone who works with children the anime really touched me and it felt so permeated with genuine love and care for students who are left behind and for teachers who see those students and put in the work to help them. and as for my fic well. now that you've reminded me of it i think i will reread it SKJKDFJSDKFJ

So since now Flor and Oli + their own older siblings are now related to Dian, Faisal and Cam; how would they be raised?? Would they be raised by the same guardian, or be raised by different guardians? There's probably a very obvious answer to this most likely dumb question now that I think of it, since Dian is a model and Flor is a cook/singer; having them being raised separately is a no brainer—

But I do wonder if Dian + Cam would be able to visit in some way. Would they know what she makes and she does at her home (being a scavenger; eating raw stuff)...

Would they know of the main animals (Bamukes or also called Anegbu pigs & Adiros or also called Edonis sheep; explained in my Flor and Rosca thoughts on the Sai/Vera incident. And an example of what she makes is the soup: "Cupid Horn Neck Soup")

So, the thing that's interesting about Dian, Cam, and Fai- Dian and Cam were both bought by Teneb from whoever their first owner was or the nursery (I don't fully remember whether Flor & Oli were in the nursery or they were bred by a specific owner), but Teneb didn't buy any of their other siblings because she couldn't justify that kind of investment. I'm really, really sorry but I don't remember Tov and Oli's owners' names, but like hypothetically, they could have all been bred by the same seygein and then sold off to different owners . . ? Probably separated when Dian was like six-seven? So Flor & Oli would've been five-six, Fai would've been just born, and Cam would be ten-eleven? (goddamn I need to design Cam . . . let's just say that they have oldest daughter sibling syndrome and leave it at that /j)

I do believe that Dian would definitely know about Flor's proclivities towards cooking as well as animals (and dumpster diving /j) but Cam would probably just know about Flor's more negative behaviors and they would mother-hen and worry over her whenever they got a chance to visit. They (they being Di and Cam) would probably be given more chances to visit while they were under 16? because Teneb is lenient when it comes to her younger charges but not her older ones, as she needs them to pull their weight and offset the price they cost her by earning money via their jobs (Dian's being modeling/musical theatre, Cam's being more dramatic acting and performance arts based? like they can sing but that's not one of their really marketable skills).

I headcanon Dian, Flor, and Fai being the ones who know how to cook and who are best at it, in the modern au, so I would say that Fai or Di are probably the ones who know the most about the animals that Flor mentioned! Fai would probably get along well with Flor, especially if he didn't know they were related but even if he did, since she's very similar to him actually (both masking and doing it in order to charm, both being scrappier, both forced into performance oriented roles despite their other proclivities). When it comes to Fai, he enjoys cooking because he's good at it and it makes him feel useful (@apriciticreveries) so I think he might end up helping Flor out with stuff like that, to keep himself busy and to keep himself from overthinking too much.

This was very fun, thank you for sending this to me, Kel!! I really like thinking about this family, they're very messed up but it's the hodge-podge and mismatched way that they keep each other together that really hammers them home for me, I think.

Chapter 10. The chapter than nearly didn't exist! This actually came to be from another ramble with someone. All I'm learning so far is good things come from rambles. But yes, this part nearly didn't exist. But I am very glad it does. It gives us a little glimpse into Ophelia and Xaden, but also Ophelia and Garrick pre Basgiath/Rebellion.

So lets get into it!

There will probably be some spoilers for Lost Sister and the books in the below. So if you haven't read my fic or the books completely, you have been warned.

”We’ve always been very similar. Even if we don’t look it.” I say, earning a chuckle out of him.

”I assume the hair colour was something Melgren made you do?” He asks as he reaches out and grabs a piece of it.

You can just tell how much this hurts Xaden to see. As we know these two don't look a lot a like. Ophelia has paler skin and green eyes. So growing up, the only thing that was the same was their hair. Which is why we get such a reaction out of Xaden and Garrick at Reunification Day/War Games when she changes it back with the help of Imogen (side note - Ophelia and Imogen have come so far, proud of them). But know that he did it to her, makes him angrier than he lets on. But by this interaction he's had a few weeks to deal with that. It's such a small detail, but something I wanted to add in.

“You always knew how to read your opponents well. Finding strength and weaknesses. Clearly something I’d forgotten when you kicked my ass on the mat on your first day here.”

As we know this eventually leads into her signet. She can read people well, pick up on those little details very easily. Pick up on their emotions as well. Something Xaden used to his advantage as a kid. She would always pick up on things he wouldn't. Sitting on the side line while he trained, providing feedback on the others. Definitely helped him get better at fighting and reading people's intentions (leading into Xaden's second signet). The boys definitely sent her in first to sus out if they were in trouble or something. Fen could never get mad at her. Well, least till he figures out she's in league with them. Which doesn't take him very long at all.

”Oh come on O, we can all see it. It’s just you two who are to blind and stubborn to do anything about it. Well, more just stubborn now.” You just know Xaden was making comments about this one he figures out their feelings for each other. Ophelia was always smitten with Garrick. She definitely had a crush on him for ages before developing proper feelings for him. Even as young kids she always gravitated towards him. So Xaden would keep his teasing more subtle. But once Garrick fell, and fell hard, Xaden was jumping on the making jokes and comments about it constantly. Definitely led to some fights if Xaden pushed it too far.

But as I said in my last directors cut. He has been there since day one of Garrick and Ophelia meeting. He's the one that introduces them. So even though he is protective of his sister, he knows Garrick only has good intentions. He knows Garrick would do anything for her. Because he's seen him do it multiple times while they were growing up. So next to mama Tavis, he would be their biggest supporter.

But you know once they're all at Basgiath he's just rolling his eyes and muttering under his breath how stupid they both are and how they need to sort their shit out and just get together.

"You know that if you go down this path with him, thats it.”

This man already knows those two are endgame for each other. Big brother Xaden is very much pro Garrick and Ophelia. Though Garrick definitely still gets the shovel talk from Xaden regardless of this fact. Even if it is his best friend, he will dig that grave if he needs to.

I love this chapter so much despite how things ended. I know most of y'all want OC and Jungkook to be done with the drama and just date but all that only happens in the movies. Real life is sooo complicated and I get the part where both of them don't date even when they KNOW both of them have feelings for each other despite all the insecurities thrown in there. AND MIMI'S WRITINGS ARE NOT DELUSIONAL. Love that mimi 🩷

And I'm SO HAPPY OC finally quit🎉 Because no matter how cheesy and romantic it sounds, dating your boss is. not. cool. I feel they really need the time apart to grow and understand their feelings and themselves. Maybe they both will get into different relationships, maybe they won't, maybe Jungkook will go back to hook-ups or maybe just maybe he'll go into therapy? 🤷‍♀️ We don't know but whatever happens, they'll grow and they'll understand each other eventually. They will(hopefully) and can date even if they're not working at the same place and that's definitely NOT problematic at all compared to when they're in boss/assistant dynamic. And OC definitely needs this if she has to find herself and define herself outside the company. She deserves to be happy too and that happiness should not depend on anyone but herself. And it's so important to know where your happiness lies and OC being aware of that and working towards that also shows she knows herself to atleast some extent.

We finally got the answers to the Mr Ri's regrets and why OC is indebted to the Jeon family yayy.

And ukw mimi, I kinda freaked out for a mili second when Mr Ri said that OC's mother and Jungkook's father were like OC and Jungkook. I was like WHATT they're half-siblings or what??!!!?? Oof- good it's not like that😅😂

And I have a feeling we'll have Jungkook's ex back in S2? Maybe OC will date Jimin? (But their friendship is too precious to risk it?? I don't know)

And and and, 'I WANT YOU TO STAY' may have nothing to do with Jungkook wanting her to stay in the company as his assistant but him wanting her to stay in his life, in his bed and after they uk do stuff. The girl Jungkook hooks up with in one chapter says that she hopes that someone will stay for him so I think that's what IWYTS says?

And damn, the kiss, their first kiss, not to mention in HIS OFFICE was like that. Imagine the tension and the things that'll happen when they finally get together when they clarify all the misunderstandings and when their NOT in a place where they're not supposed to do the deed 🤭🤭🤭🤭 Will probably take a long time but I'm here and ready to wait and of course we need the angst ukkk🫠

The title would actually mean different things at different points in time! Even in earlier chapters, JK would have thoughts of OC wanting to stay close to him but he could never say it. And then he says that in this chapter, asking her to stay in the company but eventually we see it's more than that.

"hehe no i’d actually say they know themself almost too well." okay good just confirming to see if it fits, (is big brain anon here again) but id like to believe that k psychoanalyses others because they feel like psychoanalysing others means they always know what to expect, andf so that they wont get hurt by them, and they can brace themselves. K's angst is rlly obvious considering everything. they dont want pity (remember when they told mc their fam was dead? 'how could i ever feel pity for someone as heartless as you' yeah.) K's a complex character, but it's no doubt that their immortality (duh big brain, its been said 100 million times) is a burden to them. they also want to psychoanalyse people to know their positive traits as to why they keep them around, and negative traits for how they plan to bury their grief after a friend is long gone. also, they probably feel comfort in the ocean, because the ocean id big, deep unexplored and full of mysteries, but the one trait it has is that it's always there, whether you know of it or not (ooh, much like K themselves). K's very lonely (ike I believe N is, N, K, Rylan and Blane are all similar in tears of lonliness, it just depends why they are, and i think even a is lonely to some extent, like they're all lonely which is why found family works so well for them, but lets not do that rn this is too long <3) they also psychoanalyse behaviour's, so they notice when it changes. like if person is getting too close to K, or if K is noticing person is diff than usual, they want to know. i also think that when they try to psychoanalyse MC and realise they they have no idea as to why they're there, it probably starts to freak them out a bit. MC is an enigma, they're unpredictable, and that means that K is at risk of getting hurt again, but their isn't anything they can do to protect themselves except push people away, except now that they've lived so long and still cant figure MC out they're now more intrigued, even if they wont show it. (fatal flaw, K. curiosity killed the cat / jk because satisfaction bought it back). also wrote this all on a whim so lmk if it sounds like im somewhere near their arc.

i actually think it's a lot simpler than this haha. i love this theory but in my eyes, i think it's more that K likes to know what they're dealing with. they don't like surprises, don't like the unknown—they've dealt with people long enough that they can read them quite well and because they lowkey have no filter, they tend to say it to people's faces.

they find the hunter interesting for more reasons than one and are definitely pulled in by that, but they're able to pull away when they feel like they're getting too close. even if they're extremely intrigued by someone/something, they're well-practiced at shutting down their emotions. they are extremely lonely and recognize this, but like Rylan, they think it's for the better.

also K liking the ocean has nothing to do with anything haha. they simply find the sound of the waves soothing, though i guess i agree they like how it's always the same.

HI ELLIE!!! Omg, I just started reading IHM. I was originally going to hold off until it was done (or mostly done), because I'm a serial monogamist when it comes to a series (RIGHT NOW I AM LOYAL TO KICKOFF lol), but I ended up reading IHM anyways for some reason. I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH. I know that we're only two chapters in, but I always love and adore how much thought goes into your characters and writing. I found myself giggling the whole way through lul. One thing I noticed after chapter 2 is as much as Gojo annoys reader, he's also strangely attentive to her needs and is a complete foil to Choso. I'm sure this was supposed to be obvious, but I thought it was very sweet how he called her beautiful in the dress (the same dress that Choso didn't acknowledge her in) and how the ring he picked for her was similar to one that she had saved in her wedding mood board. I'm pretty sure it's not exactly intentional on Gojo's part (or maybe it is?? hehe), but I thought it was an interesting detail. Also, I know this is within spoiler territory, so don't feel obligated to answer this, but how angsty will it get between reader and Gojo's relationship? :,) I know that they're both still healing from personal trauma from their past relationships, so will that come into play as they develop feelings for each other? It seems that Gojo is hesitant to talk about his divorce, so would that be a factor or an obstacle that will hinder him from getting too close to reader? AWW IM GONNA SOB TYSM i have put quite a bit of thought into the characters in ihm bc i really want it to be like a web? of interactions btwn them all, and i’m so glad you saw that choso is foil to gojo!! yes!! he is very attentive to her, and i think sometimes it’s intentional n other times it’s just bc they’re meant to be honestly 😭💕 we’ll see that reader too is very vigilant too despite everything she’s got going on :”) i LOVED writing the scene where he calls her beautiful in the dress, every girl deserves to be called pretty in a dress she really adores!! and yeah the ring was totally coincidental but 🤣 again i guess they’re meant to be? hahaha

yesss i think there will be quite a bit of angst between the too, mostly surrounding their ex lovers, and just in general their pasts. i kinda wanted it where reader has lived in town her whole life (childhood home) whereas gojo mysteriously moved in next door less than a year ago, so they both don’t know much about each other despite being next door neighbors. but honestly i think a lot of the angst actually comes from secondary plotlines that end up bringing reader n gojo together!! but there will still be angst between them for suuuure 😭😔 yes gojo is very hesitant to speak up ab his divorce, sorry i simply cannot write gojo without avoidant personality bc i feel like he bottles up a lot in the show too so it just felt fitting 💀😞 but for reader too, i think she kinda…doesnt care to learn much about him as of right now bc she finds him annoying lol, and then later on when she has feelings i think it’ll be too painful for her to learn ab certain things too…so yes definitely i can see how they both would avoid their feelings and instead do the thing most adults do and joke about their feelings to lighten tension or completely avoid them all together 😃😃 (or do i just need therapy loool)

I saw you are an actual real life librarian (which maybe I should have realized earlier since you always reblog certified librarian posts) and I had a question! a while ago I was discouraged from checking out ebooks and audiobooks from my library using Libby because apparently they have to pay a royalty on each checkout? does this have a big impact on libraries?

Hi!! Thank you for the ask and for giving me something to do yesterday! It was super quiet at work and reading about Libby was more productive than staring into space thinking about your meow meow in training hehe.

Also sorry I'm long winded, I can't not say something once I've thought it.

As a patron I can relate, I heard the same thing on tumblr and felt bad. But I asked a coworker about it, and she said since we get Libby along with a group of other libraries, we just pay a set fee a year - no matter how much our patrons use it, it'll be the same cost for us. She gets audiobooks all the time and has no qualms about it!

I saw on OverDrive's website (parent company I think, and the old app name) that there are multiple lending models which vary by publisher - some are pay-per-use, some you buy a license for a certain time or number of checkouts. The library can tailor the collection to their needs and choose how many titles someone can have out at once. With hoopla (similar service we do pay for directly), we set limits to downloads so we know it won't cost more than $x per patron per month. Any digital services would be budgeted for (probably, should be).

Maybe we're in the minority, but our library has adequate funding so we're happy to offer these things, and it makes us happy when people use our services. My coworker and I who do stats love to see the numbers go up like STONKS (coworker would not say that tho. again, only one under 40 here).

Some thoughts I've seen online (not from my own knowledge or experience) are it sounds like for some libraries, funding is very much tied to usage, so using Libby more could lead to more money going toward it, or to the library in general.

I also saw a comment about how it's not any different from using a public park or public school, and the people who use it do pay for it one way or another through taxes, or a yearly fee for a card, or something like that.

Anyway there's a bunch of thoughts which may or may not help or be related to your particular library. They'd probably be happy to tell you about it though! (especially if it's a slow day it's like please give me something to do)

TL;DR I'd guess if they're offering the service, they've budgeted for it. It's their job to decide if they can afford it and to set their own limits, and patrons have no way of knowing the costs/usage and are not obligated to worry about it. If you were in my system, I'd say to borrow anything you like!
