30. Is there a ship you like but you dislike the fandom?

Ooooh, jeez. This would be I think more to do with how small the fandom is (I'm sure there's 2 or 3 fantastic people out there and they are literal godsends but I simply don't interact with the fandom much at all bc I've moved to other media) than how unlikeable the fandom is but! I really like Talia of Xeris and Auriana of Volta from Lolirock together! They're also kind of a rarepair so there's that as well.

I mean, just look at them! They're very cute together (Talia's on the left and Auriana's on the right). AND they've got complementary color schemes so what's not to love??? 🧡💙

Unfortunately lower visual quality than I wanted be because Tumblr only allows 10 images so I smushed them into three canvases instead of two post. Anyway beta trolls Headcanon and some thoughts below the cut.

Aradia

Aradia is the design I probably have the most experience drawing of the beta trolls purely because of how many zines I’ve drawn her in the last year. I like thinking of her hair similar to Pinkie Pies’ in g4 of mlp, where it’s very curly bouncy in her alive and godtiered forms but straightens out more when she’s ghosting up the place and in Aradia-bot form. I didn’t realize until a recent zine I had been drawing her horns ways too low for comic accuracy but I am a creature of habit so I keep drawing them like that.

Tavros

I’ve grown to love this kid because of my recent reread but I do not like drawing them. Between the Mohawk and the long, straight horns, I don’t care to draw their most important traits so he unfortunately only gets drawn in these group drawings. As for the one ear being pierced, it’s kinda a reference to cow tags but also I think it just fits them.

Sollux

Sollux a pretty easy character to design. I just have to imagine a greasy nerd kid growing up too fast for him to put on weight, add his troll bits and voila. The snake bites are definitely a hold over from the humanstuck I made for him last year but I think it just kinda add to his whole vibe. The undershirt comes from someone who also sits in a hot-ass room most of my days and will wears a second layer so leaving the room won’t feel like stepping out into a frozen wasteland.

Karkat

Karkat for me has always been short and stout guy. Other than that most of his facial features are taken from me, being someone who also over exaggerates their faces and nearly always is squinting a little.

Nepeta

Between all my designs of Nepeta the only thing that ever changes with any consistency is her hair. Like giving her cleft lip scar because I gave it to my fan-descendent of her and it’s cute.

Kanaya

Like two months ago I saw a post on here saying give that girl a nose (in reference to Kanaya) and it was the single most true HC I have ever seen. I also like completely throw out any references I have of her when I draw her hair because I think she should have 1930’s waves and curls. I typically only have to draw the super simple eyes so the only thing I had to change was giving her actual eyes.

Terezi

Got pretty comic accurate but probably would erase some of the chin to imply she’s fat a little better if I wasn’t doing this more rigid style.

Vriska

Also pretty comic accurate with the exception of the snake bites which is probably because I don’t draw her a lot and I don’t think about her much enough looks wise to have any specific head canons.

Equius

Goodness his hair gave me a struggle, kept on looking like a balding metal head until I added the pushed back stuff. Also returned back to drawing pseudo animal ears by giving him horse ears only angle to better fit a humanoid head.

Gamzee

I hate their make-up but every thing else about drawing them is a dream; goat ears, not straight hair, simple horns, silly little guy. What more could I ask for.

Eridan

And I’m almost done but unfortunately this doofus is next and requires the most detailed bust even in canon. Due to drawing them in this year’s 413 countdown I know how I like styling their hair and fins so I basically just chop the hair up since this is suppose to be during comic hcs and then follow their canon and Pesterquest designs with a few added features and boom. I was drawing everyone with the dark grey lips but I forgot for Eridan so I’ll just say they use concealer on their lips.

Feferi

Yippee! Back to ignoring canon and just giving her the biggest eyes on account of her glasses and cute piercings. I originally based her fins off of lion fish fins but they’re definitely more based off of betta ventral fin now.

I mean she probably has some sort of nervous habits, but nothing quite as obvious as nail-biting. it's the sort of thing you wouldn't easily notice. like just getting even quieter than usual or suddenly being unable to maintain eye-contact. maybe she fidgets with her hand but only when it's in her pocket so you can't see.

yeah she probably would be a bit jumpy in a shower. not only is it loud but she's also unarmed! she might get soap in her eyes this way but it's better than being ambushed!

What is your worst IE headcannons?

I may be too out-of-touch from the fandom to know what people would consider bad and worst but I do have some that others may have an issue with! AND I WAS JUST ABOUT TO ASK YOU ABOUT HEADCANONS TOO, BUT YOU GOT ME FIRST! AND I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW YOURS VERY MUCH!! (although I haven't watched most of ares and orion so i may not understand some for now, I would love to hear them still!!)

This ended up a long post, I'm making this cut...

I'll start with a tame one (may also be really boring), but this one needs my other hcs for anyone to understand the actual one I want to share. Here's a "brief" list of the others (happened between og series and inago):

Gouenji has unparallel knowledge of ALL Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, and Ghibli movies and will defend the female characters with his life. (This is why I thought he probably knows MLP as I said on the last ask)

He's not a fan of social media and does not use anything outside of inalink and private messaging. Not bcs he's cool, he just doesn't understand them. Much like in honosuto with the laptop, initially with inatube, and him always forgetting his useless phone.

Yuuka convinced him to make an inatter (twitter) and inagram account bcs she does not want anyone to steal the @ and that she also wants to be able to tag him on her posts (and of his teammates/friends) so they can keep the memories. He saves all the pictures he gets tagged in and sometimes prints them out to keep in an album he designed (he's very good w crafts). I still can't believe honosuto came up with those social media names (except for inagram)

He only cared about the bare minimum use of social media so he only ever retweets in inatter (never made his own tweet ever; but he does reply on some that addresses him) and only posts his creations on inagram with no caption or a few words about what he made (made takoyaki, felted a bunny, crocheted a penguin, made cupcakes, etc.).

He only has three kinds of inatter rts: about soccer, about making art, and tweets of his friends and family. Yuuka made his bio in both of them. He also became good at taking pictures of his creations thanks to Yuuka.

However, he is mildly updated with internet language bcs that's all he hears from his sister and her friends and from his own friends in the group chat that he only talks in when he's mentioned. He assimilated most of the phrases they use in chats.

Having said all this, he almost has no social media presence. You're lucky to see his page updated after two weeks. He doesn't reply with strangers either unless it's a kid who loves or interested in soccer.

He also doesn't share much in interviews. Very bare minimum of answering questions and always answers in short sentences and just poses for the camera shortly before he bounces. His favorite answer to questions is "oh that's private" not bcs it's private but bcs he doesn't want to talk that long unless youre asking him about his opinion on human rights-- something that his agent and/or soccer club prevented the press from ever asking him again (an hc drop another time). But anyway, he always had strong opinions and doesnt hold back in expressing them (og series and inago) and that's trouble for the club sponsors so they make a lot of effort on stopping anybody from having the opportunity of asking him anything outside of his personal and athlete life.

And the last context here is that Gouenji is autistic, but we already know that.

Okay so now time for the actual bad HC I want to share... which is how Gouenji came out as bisexual to the public

This started with an inatter thread of a person criticizing Anna (Frozen) for her actions in the first movie that reached Gouenji's timeline. Gouenji answers with 7 tweets worth of respectful paragraph of why Anna shouldn't be criticized bcs of how she was brought up, bcs of her isolation, and bcs of her grief, etc. So, everybody lost their mind, etc etc. AND NOW, at the midst of all this, a soccer fan asked him the question below that he answered without thinking much about:

This blew up and his notifications gets flooded with questions about his sexuality and questionable taste that he really didn't mind answering if it wasn't blowing up his phone.

He was out with everyone in his circle that he forgot the world didn't know he's bi. So, he fixed that by tweeting "yes, im bisexual" on his timeline. He logs out and then decided to wait a few months before logging in again.

This didn't sound as fun as I amped it up to be but I think it's a terribly bland HC that I find kind of funny

Ivan Vasilievich Changes Profession (1973). watched it with my partner! it’s a bizarro comedy about some cuck who invents a time machine and brings Ivan The Terrible into the 1973 modern day while sending other dumbasses into the past to take his place. the casting is actually pretty clever (one guy plays two characters and it makes sense at the end) and it’s generally very entertaining. one of those old films that would have been 100% better if most of the cast went “fuck it maybe im gay”

hello oomf... i have returned here, sadly... because i had a really weird dream last night, and kihyun was in it. i actually have been dreaming a lot about mx lately? this is like the third dream they're in this week jfnvjfvn. but this one is especially bizarre??? and also it had MLP IN IT???? and i actually can't remember a majority of it, most of this is just going to be me trying my best to put the plot together, which was a little bit hard. but anyway here's what i think happened.

so apparently in this dream i had a brother and one day he went missing?? and i was like "why aren't we searching for my brother..." but no one wanted to talk about it and i was like, really disturbed by it. i think a lot of the dream revolved around me trying to navigate this issue, and i think i had a sister (not my real life sister, some made up character) and i was trying to convice her to run away with me so we could search for our brother, but she was hesitant. so here's where kihyun comes in, for some reason he was in my house??? like, he was just vibing??? and it wasn't weird??? and i have no idea if in the dream i actually knew who he was, but i remember thinking "he's not related to me, so maybe he can give us an outside perspective." so me and my sister dragged the poor guy into a room and we like traumadumped to him, we gave him the whole backstory, and we asked for his opinion. i don't remember what he said, but the gist of it was that he thought it was a good idea to go look for him since no one else seemed to want to. kihyun leaves, and now my sister is convince to run away with me. but this is where the mlp comes in. the dream changes and now it was the same story but acted out by mlp characters??? so instead of me, it was rarity, and instead of my sister it was maud (one of pinkie pie's sisters). and yes they were related. but the plot ends with them climbing down the house from a window and then running away together to find their brother (who might have become a sister at this point in the dream? unsure).

really incoherent dream, but here's my theory for why it happened. first of all, like i said i've just been dreaming a lot abt mx lately, idk why my brain chose kihyun of all people, but the mx part of the story is honestly the least strange part njfnvjfv. the interesting thing is really the rest of it, and i THINK i know why my brain conjured up such a weird plot. so a couple of days ago, i was watching this video summarizing an old mlp creepypasta that was very popular back in the day, and i became really interested in it. a lot goes on in that story, but the part that matters is that pinkie pie has this sister literally called minkie pie and their parents hate her so much that they LOCK HER UP IN THEIR DUNGEON. it's so silly, and i've been thinking so much about pinkie's long lost emo sister, i was literally thinking about it right before i fell asleep. so i think that's why the plot involved the whole long lost sibling thing, and i think that's also why it suddenly became mlp in the end, and ALSO why my brain chose maud as a character specifically (she is pinkie's canonical emo sister after all).

BUT ANYWAY THAT WAS THE DREAM + THE THEORY. not very mx related, but still one for the history books. SORRY THAT THIS ASK CAME OUT SO LONG... IT WAS A LOT.

Anyway I think it would be rlly funny if ur long lost brother from the dream was changkyun bc I'm p sure u had another dream at some point where u dreamed changkyun was ur brother. I had this awesome dream last night, I will attempt to describe it, but I might fill in some parts to make it make more sense, I just don't want to forget about it.

So it started with like these 3 friends, it was like classic teen rom com setup, a guy, his guy best friend, and his girl best friend, who had a crush on him but he never noticed or whatever, you know, typical mid aughts dynamic.

I don't remember if they were humans initially or not, that part is kind of nebulous. But the girl sees a poster for this contest to like.. I don't really remember what it was initially, it almost seemed like some kind of music competition or something, but what it became was a contest to like.. crown a new princess or something??

But they have to go to this like.. remote forest?.. island? to do it?

So anyway, the boys tag along cause they want to support their friend.

I don't know if this is what my dream brain initially had in mind, but it turns out there is no real like... contest as in "perform tasks and whoever wins is the best" it's more like, "one of you is destined to become the next princess and you will perform these tasks to awaken your potential and we will know who the princess is when they start changing"

It's at this point that if they were humans at all in the beginning of the dream, they have now become like.. mlp ponies I think? I don't actually know if they were ponies or wolves or what, but they were on all fours and part of the process of turning into the "princess" was like.. sprouting feathers and growing taller so it sounds very ponylike because that's just alicorn behavior lol. So I'm going to call them ponies from here on out!

I don't really remember a lot of specifics about the "tasks" that they performed, so I'll leave a lot of that to the imagination, but after a bit it became kind of clear that the main guy's (I am following this story from this dude's perspective) girl best friend is starting to show signs of being the next princess. Her two friends are very happy for her and still just kind of along for the ride.

Meanwhile, there is like... dark forces at play. I guess every story needs conflict. But there seems to be some kind of dark energy involved in turning someone into the princess, and if they are not careful, the prospective princess can become corrupted and they'll get like.. an evil princess instead of something? There are several large, beastly figures who seem to be on the "dark side" and they are trying to sabotage things so that they can, I guess, turn the princess dark and I guess this would mean she would allow the "evil" creatures to rule instead?? Idk?? It was kind of unclear, because the "dark" beasts also seemed to be like.. working for the former princess? Idk, it was a dream, it didn't really make sense so I'm just kinda telling it in a way that might be coherent.

So anyway, it turns out that the reason this competition was held was because the former princess died, but there is also a KING. Dont ask me why the king is a king but the princess isnt a queen, I think it's running on pony logic idk. But the king is just kinda flying around, and he keeps showing up to talk to our main character guy. It seems at first like he is just kinda bored or just an old man trying to pass on wisdom to the youth, idk. This happens a few times, but I can't remember anything specific that happens.

So on one of these occasions, they get jumped by one of the dark beasties, and the king tells main guy to run, but king ends up dying, I think cause he is distracted by making sure home boy is safe. Also as far as I know idk if they really have powers or anything, I decided they were ponies, but they don't really use a lot of magic in this dream, mostly just flying.

So now the king is ALSO dead. Which MEANS.. that a new king will arise as well!!!

(P.S. the king was really cool looking, his name was like Silverwing or something and he was very beautiful like an ethereal wisp of silver wind, idk, you gotta imagine him as pretty)

Well, the next parts are kinda fuzzy so I'll just skip to the part that makes sense. As you might predict, our main guy starts to show signs of BEING KING. His neck starts getting a little thicker and his wings a little longer. I remember there being like a flashback sequence to all the times the former king visited him and he has an epiphany that the king KNEW he was his successor (or that he chose him? not totally sure)

HOWEVER. He is not exactly thrilled about this. He didn't really sign up to be in this contest for royalty, he just wanted to support his friend. He also makes the realization that if she's the princess and he's the king, that means they are essentially like soulmates or whatever, so he starts having a crisis about having to be in love with one of his friends. Also he doesn't really know if he wants the responsibility of being royalty. He is saying all of this to his other guy best friend, btw, who is still there but does almost nothing important. So I guess that guy is the only person who knows.

So then it kinda felt like a montage of like.. him doing things and trying to hide the fact that he is becoming kingly. Meanwhile, his princess friend has now like.. started to transition to becoming royalty, she isn't fully evolved or whatever yet, but she has attendants and her own guarded area and I guess like they just have to keep her safe and happy so she doesn't "go dark" or whatever?

Well, at one point, main guy goes to visit her, and they almost don't let him in cause he isn't part of the upper crust, so to speak. But they recognize him as one of the princess's little friends so they let him in.

He wants to just speak to her, I don't really remember if there was a reason he went there. But he manages to get her alone. And they are talking and I can't remember if he tells her the truth about himself or if she just like.. notices he is different, but she gets excited when she realizes he is the next king! Cause remember, she had a crush on him from the beginning, so she starts talking about how awesome it is that they'll get to be together. But main guy shows obvious hesitance at this. I don't think he dislikes her, but I think he just wasn't prepared for any of this.

Well, his less-than-enthusiastic reaction hurts her feelings a lot. But instead of being cool about it, she gets upset and decides to oust him as the next king! So then everybody starts like.. clamoring over him and shit, they start treating him differently immediately!

Well, I feel like something else happens after this but I don't really remember, but I do remember there being another montage type sequence where it's just dude man getting like.. pampered and attended to at first he is nervous about it but then he's just like.. livin it up! He is treated like royalty now, quite literally, and he is relishing in it now!

And I feel like the dream was heading in the direction of some kind of moral about hubris or something, but I ended up waking up around this part.

I wanted to know how it ended so I tried to go back to sleep and keep having the same dream, but everything was a little different after I fell back asleep.

It was like the premise was the same, but they were closer to humans that ponies, and there were like.. dragons or something, and the new king guy was like.. using an umbrella to fly instead of wings? And his mom was there? And he was about to fight something? Idk, it got all messed up and wasn't quite the same story anymore so I just gave up.

But! I think it's a really fun concept and would be fun to write out in full, at least short story form, and come up with a satisfying ending lol. I don't think I would make them ponies, though, it didn't really feel like a pony society even if my brain thought that's what it was doing lol.

He does in fact mostly mind his business in Cannibal Town and was working on being an Overlord for the power and security behind it but, made a deal with Lilith that fucked him over, he copes as well as he can  Still figuring out the details on this one so it’s in a test phase. The deal with Lilith is a running theory right now and until it is confirmed, it only applies to Strawberry Al

Hey, saw your posts with Kash and wanted to say I'm so sorry all that happened to you - I admittedly was in a drama group years ago where she was very active and it's not at all surprising that she continues to behave like it's 2012 and triggering the SJWs was the hot thing for edgelords. Also very not surprising she's now the person who whinges about cancel culture.

Admittedly after all the shit that I endured in the months following the call-out, it’s made me consider leaving the LK fandom — It was what ended up making me leave the MLP fandom as well (it was that bad that the shit had crossed over there, you likely know about it from the tags but if not, you can DM me for context) but I stayed anyways because admittedly, I’m TLK trash and there were some things about the online community that I genuinely liked.

Though it’s still taken a toll on me — Because every day there’s some new shit-storm in regards to racism or pro shipping, stuff which I want to contribute to people speaking out against but can’t because “look how well it happened last time.” (I had to stay off the TLK tag for a full day on my birthday because of this, yay! /s) It feels like I’m the odd one out, though in reality that’s likely the perception that I’ve created in my head because of it. And yeah, I still get some backlash from making it and was even blocked by some creators I followed, but it says more about them than me if anything.

And at this point, nothing I hear about Kash surprises me. Nowadays her whole blog is basically defending proshippers, scapegoating “antis” (I don’t like using that term, I’m against proshippers, but I don’t think something called “anti-SHIP” should be a phrase for people who are against specific, awful ships, my two cents), likening them to fascists, Republicans, puritans, media illiterates, cults, and homophobes (that last one cost her a few followers and was what motivated me the most to make the call-out and she unsurprisingly enough didn't address that little comparison, I doubt she ever will), and blanketed the term “fandom cops” onto people who were calling out micro aggressions. Again, nothing that surprises me, and I’d be beating a dead horse if I went any further and would probably end up on the front page of Laughable-lion-king-art if I did but it's nothing that nobody else doesn't already know.

I'm not gonna blissfully pretend that the callout-fallout didn't completely fuck up my mental and emotional wellbeing, but I am at least glad that I took some initiative and ended up gaining closure in the end. And given how many people really had it out for me last year, I'm glad you're among the people who are willing to support me. Thanks again.

Currently Watching: MLP G5!!! Honestly, I'm going to be the odd one out and actually say I like it. I wish they hadn't separated the movie and TV show, though. It feels like they rushed a lot of the friendship building in the movie in favor of a fast plot, and they did the opposite where they dumbed down characters to make the plot move too slow in the TV show. And ofc Hitch is a bastard lol

Currently Obsessed With: haha probably my own AU of Peacemaker, like usual, to be honest, especially over the idea of Peacemaker and Callisto (one of my own OCs) meeting. I swear, I hate hate hate the idea of Peacemaker being the Exact Opposite of Darkstalker. Like, let them be alike while still having Peacemaker be a good guy!
