A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 15: PAINFUL RE:BAKE - Episode 26: The Feelings Put Into A Bare-Handed Fight
Tumblr media
Towa: This is a seriously professional training space. Look, that over there is training equipment for acrobatics!
Ibuki: How come you know that?
Towa: I did LOTS of research before coming here~!
Towa: The Spring Troupe’s workshop made me realize just how important being fully prepared is!
Ibuki: Oh right, you said you went to Spring Troupe’s too, didn’t cha.
Towa: Yup. Since this one focuses on action, there are lots of male participants.
Juza: G’morning.
Taichi: Good mornin’!
Towa: AHHHHHH, it’s everyone from the Autumn Troupe…!
Ibuki: You go crazy over every little thing…
Ibuki: Oh, heya, Izumida. I heard your ZAMI sidegig has been on fire. How about we collab soon?
Azami: Nahhh. But you do have my thanks for teachin’ me my way around social media.
Ibuki: Yup, yup. You better be grateful.
Yuzo: This sure is a nice training space. You should let my guys use it too.
Zen: Sure, when neither the guys from my shop nor the new gen are using it.
Yuzo: So I’m third in priority?
Banri: We oughta be startin’ soon.
Omi: …
Omi: (So he’s not coming…)
Keiku: …
Omi: ——
Sakyo: … That him?
Omi: Yes.
Sakyo: I'm glad he did come.
Omi: We’ve cleared the first hurdle.
Omi: Alright, I think we should start MANKAI Company’s Autumn Troupe’s Action Workshop.
Omi: Thank you for participating, everyone.
Omi: First, I’ll introduce the members of the Autumn Troupe and our special instructors, Yuzo Kashima and Zen Kuryu. We’ll begin with warm-up exercises once that’s done.
-
Yuzo: I’ll have you do a simple fight now.
Yuzo: The most important thing in combat scenes is for actors to synchronize their breathing. A single wrong move by either party can bring about the entire scene’s downfall.
Yuzo: That’s why it’s important for the two actors to trust one another.
Omi: We’ll explain the steps now. Each participant will be paired with a member of the Autumn Troupe, so please work together as such.
Omi: The pairs will be–
Keiku: I wanna do it with whoever’s best at fightin’.
Yuzo: … That’d be Juza.
Juza: ‘kay.
Keiku: Huh…
Juza: Thanks for showing me that shop with the cheesecake.
-
Yuzo: Have you all memorized the steps? Then, let’s start with slow motion–
Juza: 1–
Keiku: Haah–
[Keiku attacks Juza]
Juza: –gh.
Keiku: Ooone, two, three!
[Keiku repeatedly attacks Juza]
Juza: –gh.
Yuzo: Hey!
Sakyo: Stop!
Omi: You alright, Juza?
Juza: ‘m fine.
Keiku: I wanna fight with you. If that’s not happenin’ I’m goin’ home.
Omi: … You–
Juza: If ya behave yourself through the whole workshop, I’ll fight you.
Keiku: Bet.
Keiku: We were doin’ this in slow motion starting with step 1, yeah? 1–
Omi: … He memorized the steps properly.
Yuzo: Geez, if you got it down, then you should’ve done it from the start. Start another fight without permission, and I’m throwing your ass out!
-
Omi: Thank you very much for participating today, everybody.
Towa: Thank you very much!
Participant A: Thanks!
Zen: It’ll just be side dishes, but you can eat at my restaurant if you want.
Former Wolf: I’ll show ya the way, so please follow me~!
Keiku: …
Towa: You did that fight just now so well! Do you have experience? Do you already belong to a troupe?
Keiku: …
Ibuki: They’re leaving. Let’s hurry. I’m hungry.
Towa: Buuuuut…
[Ibuki pulls Towa]
Keiku: We doin’ it here?
Juza: … Why do you want to fight?
Keiku: ‘Cause it’s easy to understand.
Yuzo: Oi, you sure you’re okay with letting him do this?
Sakyo: Well, it'll be over in a flash, I believe.
Banri: Give ‘im hell, Hyodo.
Juza: You don’t hafta tell me twice.
Juza: If that’s how you prefer communicatin’, then I’ll respond in kind. I understand the loneliness of not being able to connect with anyone.
Keiku: I don’t need you to understand me–
[Keiku kicks Juza]
Juza: –gh.
Juza: You satisfied?
Keiku: Wh–
Juza: I’ll respond with all I’ve got–!
[Juza hits Keiku hard]
Keiku: –Augh.
[Keiku falls]
Keiku: … Ugh.
Keiku: … It hurts. It hurts. The hell…
Keiku: (You’re kidding. I can’t stand up. My knees gave out… The hell’s going on…)
Azami: It really ended in a flash.
Keiku: …
Taichi: Y-You okay…?
Keiku: … This might be the first time I’ve ever lost.
Banri: Heh, that’s a good thing.
Zen: Oi, you lot should hurry. The others are gonna eat everything.
Keiku: …
Omi: Want me to carry you if you can’t stand?
Omi: Give me your hand.
[Omi pulls Keiku up]
Keiku: …
-
Zen: C’mon, how long are you gonna sit there shocked for? You should eat, too.
Keiku: …
Keiku: ‘s hot… I don’t do well with hot food.
Omi: Then let it cool before eating it.
Keiku: … I mean, I can eat it.
Juza: Omi-san, could ya make something sweet for him?
Omi: Sweet?
Juza: I saw him happily stuffin’ his face with cheesecake before… He’s probably the same as me.
Omi: I see… Something I can make quickly would be…
-
Omi: Try eating this. It’s French toast with plenty of honey.
Keiku: … It’s good.
Omi: There are seconds, too.
Omi: Nachi, the guy whose name you borrowed, liked this too. Though, he liked it with a sunny side up egg in between.
Keiku: … You said he’s dead?
Omi: Yeah.
Keiku: … I met him once in the past. That Nachi guy.

[A3!] ★ Main Story | Act 15 - Painful RE:bake | Episode 6 - A Broken Shell
Tumblr media
Taichi: --Well then, I’ve got a challenge that I’ve always wanted to take on!
Taichi: I… wanna try getting a leading role outside of the company.
Taichi: The only reason I was able to stand at position zero with my chest out as the lead role during Mantou Fist was because I had everyone in Autumn Troupe behind me.
Taichi: But for my “individual growth”, I’ve gotta go beyond that.
Tumblr media
Taichi: I wanna play the leading role without having all of Autumn Troupe with me. That’s what will lead to my evolution and confidence as the actor, Taichi Nanao.
Taichi: That’s why… I wanna take on that challenge and give the world I once gave up on another shot head-on.
Azami: The world you once gave up on…?
Taichi: I’m gonna try my hand in the film industry, like dramas and movies, ‘cause when I did those as a child actor, I didn’t grow at all!
Sakyo: The film industry, huh…?
Taichi: I got so knocked down by Ten-chan’s overwhelming presence, especially since he was the same age as me, that I gave up on the idea that I could ever be like him…
Taichi: But now that he recognized me as an equal rival, I think there might be something I can do now.
Taichi: I wanna contribute to the troupe by re-challenging the barriers that I failed at back then and become an even better actor than I am now!
Taichi: …That said, I’ve got no clue where to even start.
Banri: If you’re tryin’ to get an audition, why don’t ya talk to Tenma?
Banri: I mean, you’d still hafta be offered the leadin’ role in a production, but the Sumeragi Agency prolly has some contacts.
Banri: That’s how I got an audition for Handsome Detective.
Taichi: Oh yeah, that’s right!
Juza: Handsome Detective, huh… That was quite the masterpiece.
Banri: Shut it.
Taichi: Alright, I’ll try talking to Ten-chan!
Azami: If that’s the kinda thing you’re talkin’ about, I’d kinda like to do something like that too.
Sakyo: That’s something I’ve always wanted to try too.
Omi: …
Tumblr media
Taichi: Omi-kun? You okay?
Omi: Yeah-- I just need to find something to challenge like everyone else.
Omi: (I’m concerned about the matter at hand, but… I need to focus on myself.)
Banri: Aight, so that’s it for what we’re--.
Sakyo: Can I make a suggestion?
Sakyo: These individual challenges are good, but this is a sequel performance. If we don’t bring attention to Autumn Troupe, we won’t fill seats and we won’t sell on streaming.
Sakyo: We should make good use of our spare time and do something all together as Autumn Troupe.
Taichi: Like what…?
Juza: Somethin’ like how Spring Troupe did their beginner’s workshop?
Sakyo: Exactly.
Azami: I feel like that was a good opportunity to get people interested in their performance, not just our fans.
Juza: Should Autumn Troupe do that too?
Banri: Nah, a workshop for beginners with this many scary faces? …We’d just scare away the participants.
Azami: Shouldn’t it be somethin’ that take advantage of Autumn Troupe’s strengths?
Juza: Our strengths… Ya mean action?
Taichi: I getcha! We can teach people the basics too!
Sakyo: We should get Yuzo-san to supervise the rehearsal menu then.
Banri: If we’re gonna put together a plan between now and before Autumn Troupe’s performance, and talk to a buncha different people, we better get on it…
Omi: Then I’ll take care of the management stuff once you’re ready for it.
Omi: I’ve done planning and management for these kinds of events for the photography agency before.
Omi: Also, Zen-san mentioned the other day that--.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Flashback*
Zen: Just let me know if any of the newborn group wants to use it for action-specific rehearsals or somethin’.
Tumblr media
Zen: I’ll lend it to you whenever it’s available. Tell your director about it.
*Flashback end*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Omi: So I can get right on it and talk to him about it.
Taichi: That’s some great timing!
Sakyo: The first generation always has a soft spot for the newborn group.
Banri: I’m grateful that we’re able to rely on them now.

All righty! Finally posting the very well-deserved present for @moonstruck-writing's birthday. In the end, I chose to go for both characters and honestly the results are so so different sdfghjkl hopefully you like them. Love you lots, Lu 💕
Please enjoy! 💕
Celebrating your birthday (Omi/Kazunari x Reader)
Omi
“Oh? Something smells really good!”
“It does! Ah, good morning, Omi-san!”
“Morning, Taichi, Sakuya.” The photographer peeks from the counter of the kitchen, watching the two boys walking in. He hands them the plates for that morning's breakfast and continues to mix the glaze just as they begin to eat. Maybe he should add a bit more of granulated sugar for more consistency. “Your both early. Going somewhere?”
“We wanted to go to Veludo for some improvs since we are both free today.” the spring leader explains smiling at Taichi, who nods in agreement, cheeks already full of food. “Sakyo-san asked if we could distribute some flyers for Winter troupe’s new play as well.”
“I see. Remember to take some jackets with you, it’s getting colder.”
“We will!” they reply in unison.
“Osu.”
“Morning, Juza-san!”
The university student grabs his own plate, stalling near the counter, eyeing the current situation. “…you bakin’ a cake?” he finally asks.
“Mhm...? Oh, yeah. Don’t worry, I’ve planned to make some muffins as well using the same ingredients. They’ll be done for when you all come back this afternoon.”
“Oh man, that’s right!” mouth still half full, Taichi gets up from the table and runs next to Juza who still watches Omi move around the kitchen. “Today was Y/N-san birthday, wasn’t it? Are they going to come?”
“Oh! Should we decorate the dorm a bit then?” Sakuya suggest. Juza nods in agreement, and Omi smiles at the considerated thoughts.
“They are a bit busy today so I’m just going to pop at their house later. I’ll ask them if they would like to come though. It's been a while after all.”
“Yeah! But let us know so we can prepare something beforehand!”
“Also please congratulate Y/N-san for us!”
"Yeah."
Omi chuckles. “I will.”
.
.
.
The autumn member rings the bell two times as per usual, merely to let you know he’s about to enter and not scare you. He takes the copy of your apartment from his pocket and opens the door.
“I’m here,” he announces. A shiver runs throuoght his body immediately, the warm of the entrance contrasting with the outside.
“Come in! I’m almost done,” your voice sounds distant from the entrance, most likely from your bedroom. “Are you early or was I late? I barely arrived.”
“I might have left the studio a bit earlier.” He concedes as he takes off his shoes. After leaving the cake in the fridge, Omi heads towards your room. He opens the door, and you think it's sweet, how he always knocks, even if the bedroom itself was already half open. “Hey.” He greets fondly, hand still on the handle.
You leave the stuff you were carrying on the bed and walk up to him with open arms, silently asking to be embraced by him. Once you two separate he leans in, kissing you on the lips.
“Happy birthday, Y/N.”
The words come out soft, making your giggle. “Thank you.” Not having let go of his embrace yet you squeeze him and sigh, enjoying his smell. You let your chin rest on his chest, prompting you to look up and him stare down into your eyes. “So… were you able to make the cake?”
He has to laugh at your pleading tone, as if there was any doubt he would have baked ten had you asked. “Of course.” The answer makes you squeal. “Are you sure you don't want to do anything else? Taichi and the others wondered whether you were coming tonight. They wanted to decorate the place.”
You find the gesture sweet, but you can't help but roll your eyes amused, because it’s not the first, nor third or fifth time he has asked you that— Omi was more than anything an attentive boyfriend after all. You separate and shake your head, walking out of the bedroom into the living room, the autumn actor following close.
“I’m already doing what I wanted, relaxing with my favourite person. I’ll make a fuzz other day."
You two sit on the sofa, talking about the dorm for a bit and ultimately opting to let them know you'd go another day most of them would be there for a visit.
As Omi writes on his mobile, you drop down next to him, watching him text. Just as you are about to yawn the autumn member lifts one of his arms, offering you to pull your head down and comfortably rest on his lap— which you do without wasting a second, of course. He always had the best intuition about what you needed.
“Exhausting day?”
“Mhm. It’s better now that you are here.”
You look up at him with the sort of smile that always makes his knees turn weak. He leaves the phone and begins to caress your hair. “Were you able to finish that thing?”
“Almost. I should now just…”
You continue talking a bit more about your day, mentioning something funny that had happened and carrying on about a few friends you had mentioned to him before. Meanwhile, Omi takes a moment to enjoy your body weight and warmth against his. How while you are talking, one of your hands had begun stroking his arm distractedly.
You looked like a beautiful picture.
“Omi, you there?”
His eyes focus again once you call for him. Immediately, he laughs. “I am. I was suddenly thinking it’s a pity I didn’t bring the camera. You look pretty.”
“I disagree. I must look like a mess.”
“Not to me.”
You groan, embarrassed but at this point not surprised at the things your boyfriend could not help but say with such ease. You place a hand on his cheek, drawing him toward you with your eyes.
You are still laying on his lap, so Omi has to bends over. He first bumps his nose against yours, making you laugh, and his gold eye softens. There’s now a faint sound of rain coming from the windows, blankets asking to be taken out of the drawer. Instead of moving, however, you caress the photographer’s lips with your thumb – they are a bit chapped, you notice. Must be the cold.
At the motion Omi barely registers his actions, melting under your touch. He moves to kiss your hair. Your forehead. Your nose. You let yourself be pampered, enjoying the ticklish sensation in your tummy. Soon, his hot breath lays on your lower lip when he exhales and ultimately gives in, pressing your lips together again.
The autumn member had never considered himself a big kisser, but he had to admit he had become used to them, or rather in need of them. As a greeting, as a thank you, as an apology, as a way of saying “good luck” or “take your time”. You open your mouth a bit more, your hand reaching the back of his neck, and he indulges further, wondering if you know how his body trembles under your touch. Electricity and warmth clashing altogether.
Eventually, you two separate. Your cheeks are flushed - his face feels hot too, so he’s probably looking similar. You blink. “Wow, are you sure we have cake? I was totally believing I was just now receiving my present.”
Omi laughs. “We do. Should I go get it out of the fridge?”
You can't help but smile happily. This was indeed all you needed for your special day.
“You just read my mind.”
🍁🔆🍁🔆🍁🔆🍁🔆🍁🔆🍁🔆🍁🔆🍁🔆
Kazunari
“Aaaaand we’re here!”
You let your body fall unceremoniously onto the cafe’s chair, a mix of relief and pain coming from your mouth. You would have been embarrassed by the sound, hadn’t it been for the fact that all you could feel right now were your sore feet. “I don’t think I can take one more step for the next half hour, Kazu.”
“Okidoke! Your wishes are my command~” He looks at the queue formed and turns back to you, signalling it with his head. “I’m gonna go get something yummy to refresh us in the meantime. You stay here and relax those cute feet, all right?” He says, winking at you and pressing a loud kiss onto your forehead. You laugh. How could he have any energy left?
You place some bags left on the floor on the chair next to you, nodding gratefully. “Thanks.”
“Don’t miss me too much!”
You shake your head amused. It's a perfectly sunny day, so the cafe seems a little bit busier than one would think given the time, although surprisingly not loud at all. You look around, taking in the warm atmosphere. There are photographs and paintings decorating the walls with some faint music playing in the background as well. You smile to yourself and decide that you like it, even if it wasn’t exactly a place you could decide to come on a whim. You two had walked a lot, to reach where you were.
"Y/N?” A young man wearing the cafe’s uniform walks towards you, his hands carrying a pile of trays, used cups and cutlery. You somehow recall him being one of Kazunari’s friends from university. Miyuki, you want to believe? It wasn’t helpful that Kazunari almost never called them by their actual names, opting to use nicknames.
“I knew I recognized you, how are you doing! Are you and Kaz here?” he continues talking, looking around. “It’s been impossible to catch him lately.”
“Hi! You tell me.” You can’t help but chuckle. “He’s over the counter getting our drinks.”
“Is that so…? Ah, I see him now. Sup, Kaz! Took you some time to finally show up, man!”
Arriving back to the table, the summer member recognizes the worker immediately. “Miyon? Didn’t know you were on your shift! Lucky~”
“So, what do you think?”
“What do I think? This place is lit just like you said! I can’t wait to snap some cool shots, especially of the drawings. They match the aesthetic the best!”
The comment makes Miyuki beam with pride. “You know, the owner actually commissioned me for a few of them. That one and that one.” He pointed rising his chin towards them, since his hands weren’t available.
“I knew they were familiar. So Miyon’s like, they look bomb!”
“Coming from one of our class rising star’s I’ll take it as the truth.” he gave a hearty laugh, shifting the big tray of used cups and plates from one hand to the other. “You know what, I’m going to go grab you two some new pastry we have yet to sell. They are delicious and I doubt we are going to be able to finish all of them anyway.”
“Uh?” you had disconnected slightly, so the sudden invitation perplexed you. “But…”
“Come on! It’s your birthday, right Y/N? Consider it a present!”
The young man doesn’t wait to hear your response as he speeds off, reminding you he was indeed Kazunari’s friend. You look at your boyfriend and once he notices you he shrugs and smiles.
“It would be rude to reject him, don’t you think? Besides Miyon’s right, you gotta let yourself be pampered, Y/N!”
“Still, by your friends?”
“Of course!”
Being the summer member significant other meant almost everybody knew you. At least up to some degree, since the blond always liked to solidify his affection by capturing you in photos, videos or instablam stories.
You gave it some thought for a few more seconds before giving in. “This place is really beautiful though. I’m surprised we’ve never been here before.” You notice your favorite drink on the tray. Happy he remembered, you stretch your arm to take it and lay back sipping at the visibly proud art student.
“Right? Miyon actually talked to me not too long ago, and then I thought it fitted your style so frigging much? So when I noticed it was on the area for our birthday date celebration it was a no brainer!”
You shake your head amused. Being Kazunari’s partner also meant you are most likely to be carried away with his hyper energetic self, which skied through the roof more than usual during special events, one of them of course being your birthday. So, when he appeared at your house at the first flush of the morning to begin a get-you-hyped, woot woot, totally fire day! You made peace with your mind and body for anything he could have planned.
“Thank you.” You smiled at Kazunari’s friend once he came back with the cute pastry.
"No prob! Enjoy the rest of your birthday, Y/N!”
You are about to dig when Kazunari yawps, taking his phone out toward you. “Literally pay no mind to me, you are just looking too cute it'd be a crime if I don't do this!”
You stare at his shiny green eyes and contain a chuckle, leaving him be. You have lost count of the number of pictures Kazunari has taken of both of you and well, you alone at this point today.
.
.
.
“Aw, you look totes adorbs in this one! Oh, and here? Hello?” He coos as his fingers go through the multiple photos. By now you two had left the café, with a promise to come back soon. He lets out a dreamy sigh, shaking his head. “Man, I would totally hit on you.”
“Kazu, we are dating.”
"Exactly!" In the smoothest way you could have thought of, the summer member grabs your hand and kisses your knuckles, taking the opportunity to intertwine your hand with his own, refusing to let go. “So I can gush over you as much as I want. Hey, have I told you about my latest theory about how I totally think we were lovers in another life?”
You rise your eyebrows amused, letting him explain. It used to fluster you at first, being the focus of someone who was so incredibly vocal and physical about what he liked. Still, it makes you happy to be cared for. To be with someone that cannot wait to show the world how much you mean to him.
“All right, Casanova. Time out." Eventually cut his well-detailed explanation, poking playfully at his chest with your free hand. "Since my feet are now well rested and my tummy is full. Anything else planned?”
Of course, his eyes immediately light up, and you find his giddiness to be infectious as he lists several suggestions.
Once you decide on a destination, there's a bit of a silent walk for a while -not the usual, since he was quick to fill the silences, knowing there was no obligation to respond to him. This time however you lean against his arm, listening to him simply humming that song he's been listening to nonstop lately. From time to time he nuzzles you, and you squeeze his hand back.
Kazunari was your confidence-booster, your arms to cry and safe place when you didn't feel the best, your inspiration, your soulmate as he cheesily presented you to his friends. And god, you couldn't be more grateful.
"Kazu?"
"I'm all ears~"
“I... Thank you for always making me feel special. Not just today for my birthday but... you know, every day.”
The blond flashes hotter for a second, the spontaneity a surprising but welcomed feeling. People would agree Kazunari could be a bit overwhelming when it came to showing affection, but many would be surprised by just how much a simple sentence like that was enough to make him crumble and his stomach flutter for the rest of the day.
Because to feel appreciated by others call it friends or fans was one thing. But by you? Man, that was a reward of its own. He grins, unable to contain the burst of emotion in his spirit. “Duh! That's because I'm a Y/N expert!” he wraps his arms around you pulling you closer, staring at you with love and warmth -hoping to memorize every detail he was feeling. "Plus, you totally deserve it." He pecks your lips.
You better be prepared, because now he would make extra sure to continue to make every single day more special than the latter.

Sakyo x Izumi
Name: Ame no Monologue
Summary: After a heavy night of drinking, Sakyo makes a confession that leaves Izumi questioning her feelings and their relationship.
Warnings: Drinking I guess, this is mostly just fluff though.
Words: 4088
A/N: Let's pretend for a moment that I didn't dissapear off the face of the earth and appreciate that I finally sat down and wrote something.
Read on Ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/43330416
“Ah, this is nice.” Izumi’s eyes were turned to the young autumn troupe members celebrating the success of their latest play, faces bright with the afterglow of a perfect closing night.
“Indeed” Sakyo allowed his gaze to linger on her, a grin spreading across her face as she shared in their joy. It had been quite the journey, but DEAD/UNDEAD was undoubtedly a rewarding experience for the troupe as well as the audience.
Despite Sakyo’s skepticism about Azami joining the troupe, the boy proved himself truly passionate for the art of theatre, filling him with a sense of pride he probably had no right to be feeling.
“Here’s to many more successful productions!” Izumi turned back to Sakyo, glass raised high, threatening to spill wine all over the dorm’s balcony.
“I’ll drink to that.” Their glasses met, sealing their unspoken promises to continue working hard to make Mankai a success.
After a few toasts were made with all the members, Izumi had suggested she and Sakyo step away for a glass of wine, as a moment away from the liveliness (chaos) transpiring inside. In spite of his best judgment, he couldn’t help but cherish the quite moments he got to spend with her, filling him with hope despite knowing his feelings were unrequited.
“Hey, Sakyo?” it was hard to remain composed when she looked at him with that smile of hers that he had long ago engraved in his memory. He took a long sip of his drink.
“Yes?”
“I know you take your role as finance manager of the troupe seriously, but you should always remember that you’re part of this too. You helped make this play happen so, as your director, thanks for another amazing run!” The dignified thing to do in that moment would have been to smile and nod, but Sakyo’s throat went dry and the wine he had been drinking did backflips inside his throat.
“Sakyo! Are you okay?” Izumi’s hand shot up, throwing a few slaps to his back, trying to put the drink back on its course down his esophagus. The sudden contact seemed to have the opposite effect. As your director…
“I’m- It’s- fi-ine” he managed to say between coughs. Izumi didn’t seem convinced, insisting he drink some water.
“Be more careful! I’m going to need you if I’m to bring Mankai to new heights.” It was comments like this that made Sakyo’s heart skip a beat, making him momentarily forget that she could only ever be his director, or his coworker, depending on what role he was filling at any given moment. However, his logic would soon kick in to remind him to get his act together and stop acting like a teenager with a crush.
 He needed more wine.
“That’s - why it’s- imperative – to…” Before Sakyo could finish his admittedly broken sentence, his head fell on the table, a loud bang making everyone’s heads turn.
“Okay, I think it’s time for bed!” Izumi didn’t hesitate before pulling the drunken man up from his chair, trying her best to distribute his weight on her arms, practically carrying him towards his room.
“What’s up with him?” Banri was the first to notice Izumi passing by, her arms around his fellow troupe member.
“He had a little too much to drink.”  Omi, Taichi and Azami appeared from the stairwell, carrying more snacks.
“I thought he could handle his alcohol. Just how much did he drink?” Concern was written all over Omi’s face as he looked at Sakyo’s sorry state, head slumped and cheeks flushed.
“I’m not sure, I thought he would be fine but I guess even a yakuza has his limits.” She said, adjusting her grip on his shoulders.
“Should I take him to his room?” Omi offered, setting aside a plate of freshly cooked snacks.
“It’s okay, I got him. You guys enjoy your night, you deserve it after so many performances.” She was moving towards the stairs before anyone could protest.
“That stupid old man, getting drunk like that…” Azami’s words were mumbled as he looked at Sakyo with an exasperated expression.
Izumi could still hear the liveliness of the party behind her as she led Sakyo downstairs, occasionally sneaking a look to his face. She realized then that she had never seen Sakyo more relaxed than now, half asleep in her arms. He had always kept her at arm’s length, as if he was afraid of getting too close.
She pushed those thoughts away before the evolved into something she didn’t want to face and focused at the task at hand.
“What’s… happening?” His eyes seemed hazy when he looked at her, still heavy from the alcohol.
“You drank too much, that’s what happened. I thought you of all people would know your limits.” It was true that this was the last thing she had expected from him, although she wasn’t as upset as she sounded, mainly because she enjoyed seeing another side of the usually stern and professional yakuza.
“Izumi?” her words were clearly landing on deaf ears, his brain too fuzzy to process the situation.
“That’s right.” He shook his head as if he hadn’t heard her.
“Can’t be.. Izumi… never holds me… like this.” He sighed and his expression in that moment made Izumi see loneliness in his expression she hadn’t noticed before that night.
“Sometimes… I wish that she would.” Sakyo’s statement stopped her dead in her tracks, hitting like a bucket of cold water.
“S-Sakyo?” she tried to jolt him awake, make him explain why he would say this now, but he had fallen back in deep sleep and wasn’t budging.
His words kept replaying in Izumi’s mind even after she had left him in his room and locked herself in hers, trying to make sense of her conflicting emotions.
She wasn’t sure if the prospect of those being his honest feelings or a drunk mistake scared her more. She had wanted to avoid it, trying her best to equate her feelings towards him to those she held for all her troupe members, but it was evident that they went deeper than that. Despite this, she knew that a relationship between them could prove problematic for everyone else and she had always been against romance in the workplace. There were too many things at risk if something went wrong and she didn’t want to be the reason for tension among the autumn troupe members.
One the other side, she was scared to think about Sakyo regretting his words in the morning and rejecting her. Of course, she would never admit her disappointment to him, but the thought of it hurt her more than she had thought possible for a relationship that hadn’t even blossomed yet. And never will.
Izumi tried to prepare for the worst, not allowing her hopes to leave her disappointed.
Sleep didn’t come easy that night.
“Was everything okay with Sakyo yesterday?” Omi asked as he and Izumi were preparing breakfast, before the members starting waking up. The mention of Sakyo’s name caught her off guard, almost making her drop the orange she had been carefully peeling.
“Of course! Why would anything be wrong?” She hated how defensive she sounded, causing Omi to appear more concerned than he had been previously.
“He just seemed pretty out of it. I wonder if he’ll wake up hangover…” He lowered his head, clearly wanting to question her outburst but having no desire to pry in classic Omi fashion.
“Speaking of, I bought some hangover pills earlier, can you make sure he takes them?” Izumi took the packet out of her pocket, offering it up to Omi, who didn’t seem convinced.
“Why don’t you give them to him yourself?” His tone was worried but he still took the pills off of her.
“Well, you know how I am, busy busy busy.” She tried to play it off with a smile but she had always been a ham actor and this was no exception.
“I don’t mean to pry, but are you sure nothing happened between the two of you?” Before Izumi was forced to come up with an excuse, the man himself walked into the room, looking slightly more pale than usual but much more put together than he had been the night before.
“Good morning.” His voice was still hoarse and it caused his words to play over in Izumi’s mind once again, triggering a flight response.
“I need to head out, I’ll see you later!” She pushed off her apron and rushed out of the room, not giving time to either men to question it.
“Is something wrong with Tachinaba?” Sakyo asked, looking at her disappearing down the corridor. Omi shrugged, gesturing to the hangover pills Izumi had left with him.
“I’m not sure… She told me to give these to you, make sure to take them.” Sakyo looked over the packet, his brain trying to piece together the events of last night but finding his memory failing him.
“I guess I pushed my limits too much… Did I do something last night?”  He had always prided himself in his ability to maintain control and had faith in his alcohol tolerance. He found it hard to believe both had failed him so much, but his fuzzy memories of the events left him questioning both of those things.
“As far as I know, you fell asleep and the director helped you back to your room. You seemed pretty out of it.” Sakyo’s eyes widened. Tachibana helped him to his room? Had he done something to upset her? Questions flooded his mind but he tried to keep them at bay, insuring himself that, no matter how much alcohol he had, he wouldn’t hurt her.
This was also a notion he questioned in the following days.
“And that concludes today’s meeting. You’re dismissed.” The leaders said their goodbyes and went their separate ways, leaving Sakyo and Izumi alone for the first time in a few days.
“Since you’re here, we need to discuss Rurikawa’s request to increase the costume budget for winter’s next play. I don’t think-“ Izumi was standing up before he could finish his sentence.
“Sorry, I need to run, but I can take it up with Yuki personally.” And with that she was off, leaving him once again bewildered. During their time in Mankai they had developed a system that allowed them to work together to deal with any issues that came up. Their differences had always helped them come up with the best middle ground between practicality and creative freedom and that was something he appreciated from the beginning, but after autumn’s celebration she had been avoiding talking to him beyond the standard good morning.
Sakyo tried to convince himself that it was simply a result of her packed schedule, but as the days went on it became evident that Izumi was purposely keeping a distance, which caused his nerves to worsen by the day. Just what had he done to cause such a rift?
“Sorry, I’m helping out at a friend’s troupe today, but you can discuss it with Tenma, he’ll know what to do.”
“Sorry, I need to get to the store before they close”
“I don’t think I can make it, I have some errands to run today.”
This went on for a week before Sakyo’s patience reached its limit. The disconnect between them was evident and had begun to affect the preparations for winter’s next play, as well as their search for a new member.
It was close to midnight when Sakyo encountered Izumi in the hall and decided to make a move.
“Tachibana! We need to talk.”
“Sorry, I’m-“ before she could run away from him again, he took her arm, pulling her towards him, pinning her to the wall in one swift motion. With his arms on either side of her head, he was effectively blocking her swift escape from the conversation. She was momentarily stunned, eyes staring at him in disbelief.
“S-Sakyo?” it was only then that we realized how close they were, making him pull back instinctively, his face growing flushed.
“I apologize for this. But we really need to talk.” She fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, avoiding any eye contact.
“Did something happen?” It was rare to see Izumi, the same person who had eaten his ear off about shutting down a theatre troupe she wasn’t even a part of at the time, so shy in front of anyone, especially him. It was one of the things he loved about her.
“You’ve been avoiding me. I want to know why.” She didn’t seem surprised at his response, having expected that this conversation would need to happen one way or another.
“I’ve just been really busy and…” His glare must have stopped her from finishing whatever excuse she was going to throw in his face, leading to a deafening silence.
“Did I do something while intoxicated?” He was scared to hear the answer, the events of the last week having filled him with uncertainty about how much he could rely on his composure despite the effects of alcohol. His attraction to her could have led to him saying or doing something inappropriate, no matter how much he hated to think of that possibility.
“You mean you don’t remember what happened?” She asked, her shoulders dropping, releasing days worth of anxiety.
“That’s right, even though I’m ashamed to admit it…” His tone must have implied what he had been thinking prompting Izumi to shake her head.
“No, no, you didn’t do anything, you don’t need to worry! Even drunk you’re a gentleman and you were pretty much asleep when I took you to your room.” She was finally smiling again but he couldn’t help but think there was disappointment hidden behind it, hoping it was simply his paranoia talking.
“You don’t need to stress about it anymore. Um, you wanted to talk to me about finding a new member for the winter troupe?” On the outside it seemed that the issue was resolved, but the knot in Sakyo’s stomach was still there. Still, he ignored it, going back to work mode, hoping it would resolve itself soon.
When Izumi tried to fall asleep that night she kept going back to the conversation she’d had with Sakyo. When she heard that he didn’t remember what he’d said she had been relieved that she wouldn’t have to face her own feelings, but she couldn’t help her disappointment, a part of her still hoping that that had been Sakyo’s truth.  No use dwelling on it now… It’s better this way.
A few days later Sakyo’s and Izumi’s relationship had returned to normal, the pair working together in earnest to make up for a non-productive week.
After the hiring –if you could call it that- of Guy, preparations for the Winter troupe’s play were underway, leaving Izumi busy with practice and Sakyo with distributing their funds.
While Sakyo was happy that the issue had been resolved he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a piece missing in Izumi’s story.
He was on his way to run some errands when the puzzle was completed in his mind by the last person he had expected to solve the mystery.
“Sakyo! “ Misumi appeared in front of Sakyo in an instant, almost like he had jumped from the first floor balcony (He probably had)
“Ikaruga? What do you want?” The younger man had a concerned expression on his face, a contrast to his usually aloof personality.
“It’s about the director.” He offered Sakyo one of the two onigiri he was holding but the older man refused, more concerned about what Misumi needed to tell him about Izumi that was so urgent. The boy took a bite of his snack before answering.
“Kazunari said I should tell you…” If Miyoshi is involved it can’t be anything good.
“Yes?” Sakyo felt himself getting impatient, prepared to give him and Miyoshi the scolding of their lives for worrying him over nothing.
“Remember when you drank too much and fell asleep? You looked a bit like this onigiri.” Sakyo nodded, fighting the urge to question how he resembled a triangle.
“You told the director that you wanted her to hold you more.” Sakyo was momentarily stunned, thinking that he must have misheard.
“What?”
“Well, we weren’t sure if you were talking to her. It looked like you thought it was someone else.” As the realization that Misumi wasn’t joking hit him, his brain entered panic mode, connecting the dots between Izumi’s words and attitude for the days following the celebration. You don’t remember what happened?
His expression must have turned murderous, because Ikaruga run away, finding shelter with Kazunari, who had been watching from afar.
“Don’t be like that, it wasn’t that big of an L. At least you didn’t have to get rejected!” One look from Sakyo and the two summer troupe members were retreating to the safety of the dorm, leaving him alone to process his thoughts.
That was practically a confession, right? He had confessed to Izumi in the worst way possible. He had never wanted to confess in the first place, content to let his feelings live and die with him, having no desire to put her in an uncomfortable position and compromise their relationship and Mankai in the process. It had been this way since they met as children and he would have succeeded were it not for his nerves, leading to him drinking way beyond his limits. His self control often left him when it came to her, but he never thought it would be his undoing.
Izumi had clearly decided to drop the topic when she discovered he didn’t remember what he’d said, putting the responsibility on Sakyo to decide whether or not the matter needed to be addressed. It should have been an easy decision. Izumi seemed to have forgiven him in the last few days and if he continued pretending he didn’t know it could stay that way.
In spite of this, the idea of having to go on not knowing exactly how she felt, or even worse, her assuming he would say this to anyone while drunk filled him with dread, leading to a wave of anxiety as he considered his options.
She had seemed relieved to know he had forgotten the event, but Sakyo still remembered seeing disappointment in her expression, quickly masked by a quick smile and wave of a hand. He tried to convince himself that it was wishful thinking, but hope once again found root in his heart as he thought about what this could potentially mean for them.
 He needed time to think.
The rehearsals of winter’s new play had been keeping Izumi busy the past few days and despite Guy’s issues with self expression, there were no issues she thought herself incapable of solving. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, except one thing.
 Sakyo was avoiding her.
It had only been a few days since they’d returned to their normal selves when one morning Izumi said her usual good mornings and he shut her off with a mumbled “I need to go to work.”
She couldn’t think of anything that could have caused the shift, considering they’d been fine just the previous day. The issue became apparent when she tried to discuss the expected expenses for the costumes and set pieces, with him refusing to so much as look at her for more than a few seconds, let alone talk.
Izumi couldn’t allow this to get in the way of their latest play and –though she tried to ignore this- it hurt her to see him unable to be in the same room as her. She needed to fix the problem at its root.
She got her chance a few nights later, finally managing to corner Sakyo on his way to his room.
“Sakyo, we need to talk.” The man slowed down, but didn’t stop completing, likely hoping to seek refuge in his dorm.
She wasn’t going to let that happen.
Her hand wrapped around his before she could think too much about the consequences, pulling him towards her with as much force as she could master, which was not a lot, especially not for a yakuza like Sakyo. Still, it was enough to make him turn to face her for the first time in the past few days. He seemed stunned and his face was flushed, reminding her of that night.
“Stop running away from me.” She thought her was putting on her angry face but after a few seconds, Sakyo laughed, confusing her further.
“W-what are you laughing about?” It was rare to see Sakyo smile- let alone laugh and no matter how upset she was she couldn’t deny how good it looked on him.
“I’m sorry, this is just giving me déjà vu.” She was the reminded of the way Sakyo had cornered her a few days ago, almost exactly like this and couldn’t keep a laugh from escaping her.
“We like to keep things complicated It seems.” Sakyo nodded, some of their past comfort with each other returning as the tension was somewhat relieved. Whatever it was, it wasn’t something they couldn’t fix.
“Sakyo, I told you the night of autumn’s closing night that I need you to achieve my goal of helping Mankai bloom into a successful troupe.” She paused, trying to calm her nerves.
“Whatever is going on with you, I’m sure I can find a way to fix it. I’m the director of a previously declining troupe, it’s what I do. So please, just talk to me.” Sakyo’s eyes widened, negating any thoughts he had of making excuses again. He took a few minutes to reflect before finally speaking up, seemingly resolved about something.
“I remember what happened that night… Well, I don’t remember but it was relayed to me.” It was the last thing she wanted to hear and it made her want to crawl into a hole and disappear into oblivion. She wanted to say something but the words wouldn’t come out and Sakyo must have taken that as her rejection.
“I apologize for making you uncomfortable. I hope this won’t impact our work relationship in the future, but if you want to keep your distance I -“ she couldn’t let him finish.
“Sakyo, wait.” She was still unsure, but she knew she would always regret missing her chance if she stayed silent.
“Were those your true feelings? Was what you said true?” She knew what the easier answer would be. They could go on acting like it had never happened and remain good friends. It would become a distant memory, surrounded by what ifs. Still, it wasn’t the answer she was hoping for.
“Yes.” When Izumi faced Sakyo’s violet eyes his conviction was clear. There was no hesitation, no ifs or buts. It was all Izumi needed to embrace her own feelings.
“I meant it when I said I need you, Sakyo, You’re important to me, more than you know. I admit I was shocked that night, which was why I tried to run away from confronting your words.” Izumi could see the resignation painted on Sakyo’s face, ready to accept her decision.
“But I was also happy.” He looked up at her, clearly surprised.
“I was scared that if I accepted this I would be risking the relationship we’ve established all this time, but looking at you now I don’t think I have anything to fear. I love you, Sakyo.” She was scared he would be taken aback by her confession, but she needed to make her feelings clear to him , needed him to see that this wasn’t settling or pity, but love. It had taken her time to accept it herself, but she didn’t want to ignore her heart any longer.
“Izumi.” He took a step towards her, hesitantly taking her face in his hands. Before she lost her nerve, she rose to her tippy-toes, pressing their lips together.
She didn’t need sparks to fly to know that this felt right. Kissing him felt as natural as breathing and she wondered what she was so afraid of.
“I’ll try to make you happy, for as long as you’ll have me. I love you too, Izumi.” She buried her face in the crook of his shoulder, trying to hide her burning face. She could get used to this.
“Thank you.” Sakyo’s words were whispered as he looked at her face, so peaceful in her sleep.

Autumn Troupe: When they have nightmares
(PSA: this one’s a little self indulgent since I can’t sleep tonight so apologies if the headcanon’s inaccurate to the character ^^’)
Juza
Juza’s one to hide whatever gets him down because he doesn’t want to burden those around him.
He wants to be a good influence for Muku and Kumon and he tries not to rope them into anything negative that he has going on.
He tried to have a positive impact on you, too, so most times he doesn’t know how to express or want to express his vulnerabilities to you.
It was inevitable the night he had a nightmare, unfortunately it was you turning your back on him and was suddenly scared of him and thought of him as a monster.
Juza woke up in a cold sweat next to you, and he had no time to panic as he quickly rose up, reaching the air in front of him in a frenzy.
It would be best to hold him and/or reassure him. He needs to know that he isn’t alone and that it’s safe to open up to you, he will melt and quickly try to forget what happened in his dream.
He won’t tell you much about the dream, he won’t resist your efforts of getting close to him. In fact, it’s all Juza would have ever wanted. The love and care of someone that would accept him for who he is.
He’ll silently accept the love you give him, holding onto you tightly to steady his shaking and reassure his head.
Banri
Banri didn’t care much about nightmares, it never really bothered him and he kind of blew it off as some meaningless sign to ignore.
He never read much into things and didn’t see the need to start now. He was just rolling through life without a care in the world.
That was, until you came into his life.
He cared for you greatly and the feeling of putting in time and effort into someone that wasn’t his own self was almost foreign.
You had genuinely supported Banri throughout acting and everything he did, and he returned the favor which he had never thought he ever would.
Every bit of affection, every compliment he’d shrug off from literally anyone else meant more to him than anything.
To the point where waking up from a nightmare felt different when you were involved.
He was terrified that this meaning that he found in his life was gone, he woke up trying to laugh it off but saw his hands shake from the after math.
Just a simple “I’m here, I’m here” would ground him and bring him back to reality. Your voice was like a song to Banri, one that he would never get tired of.
He’d laugh still, but in a more genuine manner, tease you and asked if you actually worried about him.
Inside, he was grateful that you affirmed you were there with him, but it’ll take a while for him to admit it.
Omi
This boy has a lot to unpack.
He’s riddled with nightmares ever since his best friend had died. Despite all the changes in his life it still comes back in his sleep to bite him in the back.
He convinces himself that he’s gotten used to the nightmares and accepted it all as what he has to live with, but it deeply bothered him.
Despite this Omi tends to put a strong face for everyone; his brothers and father, the Mankai company, and for you, too.
Initially, he saw his weak points as being a burden to you, so Omi likes to perform acts of service to you like making you food before he goes to work or to rehearsal, get groceries with you, and of course also make sure you get a good night sleep before he would have to leave to run errands of his own.
He rarely takes rests and keeps himself busy a lot, he loves to help the people he cares about, but at the same time he will over work to avoid the nightmares that come late at night.
It was bound to happen that he would knock out fast asleep next to you. He had a whole day of errands, photo shoots, a lengthy practice and cooking for both you and the troupe. Omi deserved a rest.
However he started twisting and turning in his sleep frantically and you woke him up in fear of what was going on.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you” he immediately goes, rubbing his eyes to hide the clear discomfort, stretching to get up and make himself some tea.
Refuse his offer to do anything, right now it’s best for him to recover, and even without any cooking skill, offer some calming tea and some snacks or comfort food from the fridge or pantry.
He’ll be endlessly grateful, laughing as he constantly reassures you that he would have been perfectly fine getting it himself, but still thank you in the process.
“I know you’d do the same for me, it’s time I help you, too”
Those words hit him in realizing how much he has already done the whole day, and how acts of service doesn’t need to be a one-way path. Showing how much you cared for him gave him a sense of trust and security with you almost instantly.
Taichi
He admired you so much, and he would desperately try to hide anything that made him seem uncool.
He still fears being alone more than anything, despite wanting to stand out, he hated the feeling of isolation.
Often times it comes in his nightmares ever since he left the God Troupe, he had been scared of being singled out as a traitor and left neglected.
He woke up in tears that he sobbed out, carelessly forgetting that you were sleeping right next to him, but were awoken by his cries and immediately got up to go to him.
“Taichi, are you okay?” “Yeah! Yeah I’m perfectly fine-“ “Taichi.”
You sounded stern but he was still stubborn and tried to convince you that he was in top shape.
“See? I got all my fingers and everything! Still the same-“
You didn’t believe him but instead pulled him into your arms and his tears bursted out even more, taken by surprise of the overwhelming affection and support that he loved from you so much.
He shamelessly cried in your arms and soaked your shoulder, apologizing for his uncool he looked, but you not caring made him cry even harder.
After that nightmare he was truly happy to show this side of himself, even if Taichi had thought of it to be shameful in the beginning. He felt that you would stay at his side even with his true colors, he was open to accepting his own self as much as you accepted him with open arms.
Sakyo
In comparison, Sakyo handles nightmares as if they were nuisances like a fever. He still has difficulty sleeping after them so he lies awake just staring at the ceiling for a while to let it fade away.
In his past he was not able to have a lot, and often times because of his past affiliations he did not have much room for error.
As much as possible he did not want to mess up anything with you as well. Upon meeting him, he did come off as cold, and it took a while for him to warm up to you and was careful when talking to you about his previous encounters with the yakuza, as much as what didn’t scare you off.
When realizing you had done more than stay, but instead support him with being the actor who Sakyo was trying to be today, he was thrilled.
As much as he’d lecture you about running water and spending on groceries, it was his own way of trying to be helpful and caring.
In a way it showed that he knew what he was doing, but when it came to seeing him in shambles after waking up after a nightmare of his ugly past, he froze.
You were lying right next to him and he didn’t know how to cover up his own tracks of vulnerability. The ice he encased himself in melted away when you crawled up to him and asked him what was wrong.
He never wanted to involve you in the dangers of what his line of worm was before, realizing how much he wanted you in his life, but you still being there after learning all about it was reassurance to him.
With that he was able to go to bed easier, knowing that act of his life was over, and he was able to start fresh with a life with you, in an arc that he hopes to never call the curtain on.

🍁✨Autumn Troupe Headcanons!✨🍁
Hooray for more uncensored swearing! Sorry, this took so long! It’s hard to think of things for the Autumn Troupe since I don’t know them super well!
🍁🧡Banri Settsu🧡🍁
Whenever it's time for practice, Banri begins by smacking the back of Juza's head! (Not super hard, but enough for it to piss him off)
Diluc main, that is all. Before he got Diluc he was an Amber main, and somehow was good. Still uses her every once in a while!
Slightly intimidated by languages sometimes, I dunno how to explain it, so hopefully the dialogue does!
“Banri, come here for a second.”
“Hell no, I’m in the middle of a match right now.”
“Banri.”
“Sit your ass down and wait, Chikage! I’m busy!”
"Halika dito! Huwag kang humintay na papatayin kita at iwanan kitang dumugo sa lansangan! Inumin ng mga aso ang iyong dugo at kukunin ng mga uwak ang iyong laman. Gusto mo yan?!" ("Come here! Don't wait for me to kill you and leave you bleeding in the street! Dogs will drink your blood and crows will take your flesh. Do you want that ?!" ) I'm unsure of the translation, since the filipino was from Irumaaaaa_saaaaamaaaaa's comment on my Ao3! I just put it into google translate
“Damn! Fine, fine, I’m comin! Chill out!”
His older sister gave him a leopard plushie when he was a kid, which is why he’s fucking obsessed with animal prints!
Plays drums and almost broke the coffee table because he “jammed too hard” on it!
Constantly messing up Taichi’s hair, or he’s drumming to songs on his head.
*boom boom bap boom boom bap*
“Buddy, you're a boy, make a big noise, playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday! You got mud on your face, you big disgrace! Kicking your can all over the place, singin'-”
“We will, we will rock you!”
“Haha! Hell yeah!”
🍁💜Juza Hyodo💜🍁
Likes carrying Muku or Kumon on his shoulders! Sometimes they still parade around!
“Are you sure about this, Ju-chan?”
“Yeah, you’re real light, y’know.”
“What the hell are you doing, Hyodo? Practice is soon.”
Chews on things a lot when he’s nervous! He always has gum or a lollipop to avoid chewing on his shirt, his nails and other inedible things!
Uses shorter Mankai members as an armrest, but only the ones who are okay with it! He’s polite like that.
On nights where he just can’t sleep, he’ll go on walks or drive around on his motorcycle!
Terrible with eye contact and looking like he’s paying attention. Sakyo has to snap his fingers at him to make sure he’s listening!
Y’know the awkward sibling hug from Gravity Falls, he and Kumon have done that...a lot. It’s not actually awkward though, they just liked the show!
“Awkward sibling hug?”
“...Awkward sibling hug.”
*embrace*
“...pat, pat.”
....
“Hyodos, what the hell?”
🍁💖Taichi Nanao💖🍁
Cried twice when he got his piercings, the first time was because he was very, very afraid, the second time was because he was so happy that he looked good with them!
Has Heelys! One time, he tried to 'heely' into the rehearsal room, but he immediately fell over!
Plays the ukulele! He wanted to play guitar because he saw someone serenading their partner with it at school! He borrowed Masumi's guitar but bar chords suck and his hands are kinda small, so he settled for the uke!
"Aghhh! How do you play that! That hurts my fingies!"
"I have bigger hands and more experience."
"But you're only like an inch taller than me!"
"Height doesn’t really have anything to do with this."
Has a Tiktok! He doesn't post often, it's more for looking at memes or sick outfits. (He does the dances though! He's pretty good at them but they're all in his drafts since he's not super confident in them!)
Y’know how kids crawl up the stairs really fast. He does that. Constantly. Kazunari joins in, sometimes. It pisses Sakyo off a lot, but he gave up on trying to get them to stop.
"Taicchan, what are you doing?"
"Kazu-kun! I got the zoomies!"
"Nice! Can I join ya?"
"For sure!"
*Rapid thumping up the stairs*
"Aren't you gonna stop them, Sakyo?"
"...If I had that ability, they would've stopped a long time ago. Those idiots don't listen."
He LOVES Sk8 The Infinity! Langa's his favourite character! He's also probably a Reki kinnie!
🍁💙Omi Fushimi💙🍁
(It's blue like his regular shirt and Tumblr doesn't have any other colours ;-;)
Despite being tone-deaf, he hums a lot when he cooks! No one seems to mind it!
Enjoys scrapbooking! He kind of prefers scrapbooks to albums, since scrapbooks have a more homemade vibe, you know?
Gives the best hugs, and tends to hold hands with the younger members when they cross the street!
Regularly has this conversation!
“Banri, have you eaten?”
“I dunno Omi, have YOU eaten?”
“...I have. But that's not what I’m concerned about.”
“...I had a granola bar like, an hour ago.”
“...I’m making you something.”
When he first joined the company, he took notes on what everyone liked and didn't like to eat, plus if they had allergies! He still has it, he just doesn't need to use it anymore!
I feel like something like this has happened once!
“Ah, Omi! Can you help me grab something?”
“Oh, sure. What do you need, Sakuya?”
“Homare asked me to get some of that tea, but I can’t rea-”
*lifts Sakuya like Simba*
“Ah! Omi, haha! What are you doing?”
“Sorry, I couldn’t help it! Do you want me to stop?”
“Oh, no, it’s fine! It’s kinda fun actually.”
🍁💛Sakyo Furuichi💛🍁
Absolutely blind without his glasses, like it’s really bad. He walked into a doorframe without his glasses. Thankfully, no one noticed (he thinks).
He has a bit of bubble-wrap in his a pocket all the time and sometimes he uses it as a threat! (Hopefully that made sense...)
“Settsu, move over.”
“I literally can’t! Your fat ass is taking too much space!”
*pop*
“Just scoot your lazy ass over.”
*pop*
“I can’t I already-”
*pop*
“...Alright, I get it! I’ll shut up! Jeez, how is that so threatening...”
“...Asshole.”
*pop*
“...Sorry.”
Definitely told Azami that Santa wasn’t real when he was like 6.
Sakoda got him a mug that said #1 Dad but he crossed it out and replaced ‘Dad’ with ‘Aniki’! Sakyo still drinks out of it, sometimes!
Azami also made him a friendship bracelet when he was a lot younger. Sakyo doesn’t wear it (because it doesn’t fit him anymore) but he still has it! He likes rubbing the beads between his fingers.
Good at trivia! Like, really good. He somewhat enjoys Trivia Murder Party. (I just watched a play through and skipped to a random question, I have no idea if it’s actually hard lol.)
“Which body of water connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean?”
“Wh- How are we supposed to know that?!”
*Sakyo answers ‘The Strait of Gibraltar’ and is the only one who answers correctly*
“Fuck, my thumb slipped.”
“That shouldn’t be allowed. Sakyo’s shitty and old, he shouldn’t be able to know and remember things.”
“Oi, brat. I’m not that old. You’re not the one who got the answer right.”
“You’re not the one who literally never learned this!”
🍁❤️Azami Izumida❤️🍁
Has smacked too many cans/cups out of Itaru and Tsuzuru’s hands!
“Wh-”
“Drink actual water. And jeez, go take a nap or something. Your skin is even worse than I thought it could get. Aren’t you supposed to be the responsible one in the Spring Troupe?”
“Ah... I guess, you are right. Thanks for looking out for me.”
“W-well! W-we can’t have you on stage looking like a raisin! S-so!”
Often criticizes Izumi’s eyeliner and ends up just doing it for her. N-not that he minds or anything!
Played Love Nikki at some point, I do not take that much criticism.
Because I think the troupe/play themes are canon, he definitely helped with Shake the Shape and wrote some of RESPAWN!
Always has extra hair ties on him, even though most of the others don’t really need them. Most of the time, the hair ties end up being used for...other purposes.
“Ready.”
“What?”
“Aim.”
“Azami, I swear to whatever god is listening, if you fire that elasti-”
“Fire.”
“...You shitty brat-”
“Oh shi-”
Part of the ‘wears nail polish’ squad! He hates stickers. (Most of the time they somehow fall off) His go-to is an alternating pattern of black and red.

Hyodo Bros Get A Baby Sister
Juza and Kumon's parents have a baby girl!
Kumon is both so stoked and so nervous to be a big brother. Stoked because he gets to be just like Juza, nervous because.... what if he isn't?
Azami and Tenma assure him that he doesn't have to be like Juza in order to be a good brother. That he's fine just the way he is.
They introduce her to the Summer and Autumn troupes when she's born and it's..... well.
Banri says there's no way she's cute because babies are all "ugly as balls." Juza almost decks him then and there. (Banri recinds this statement when he actually meets the newest little Hyodo, and decides he would throw hands for this tiny thumb of a human.)
She is absolutely captivated by Azami and no one can fathom why. Azami can just stare blankly at her and stick his tongue out and she'll fuckin burst out laughing.
She also instantly adores Misumi, of course. (But who doesn't?)
Baby: *gurgles*
Misumi: "She says _______."
Everyone: .....
On the other hand, she hates Tenma and everyone finds it hilarious.
Tenma, seeing what happened with Azami: "Please, like that's so hard. I bet she laughs at everything."
Tenma: *holds her*
Baby: *starts wailing*
She grabs onto Taichi's finger with her whole little fist and Taichi bursts into tears.
Banri: "Why're you cryin'?! Aint that supposed to be the baby!"
Taichi, crying: "I just can't help it!!"
The noise, of course, leads her to start crying. Now she's crying, Taichi's crying, and Kazunari's trying not to cry from laughing as he gets it all on camera.
Sakyo yells at them to quiet down so as not to upset her. He gets this unusually soft look on his face when he gets his turn to hold her, and he has to tell himself he doesn't want kids he doesn't want kids he doesn't--
Yuki makes a show of gagging, but can't hide his own smile when he presents the tiny dress he made for her (with little flowers, of course).
Omi spends the entire pregnancy reading a bunch of books on parenting and prenatal care. Everyone is baffled by this. (Juza: "Uhh....you do know you're not the father, right?")
It pays off when Muku inevitably worries about everything that could go wrong in the early stages of life, and Omi has a little extra knowledge to back up his assurances that she'll be just fine.
Sakoda makes sure to visit that day and joins the crying crew. He adores her immediately and respectfully refers to her as "Miss Hyodo" and "The Young Miss."
Anyway, she goes home that day with ten whole new brothers.

Sakyo wakes up on his birthday to find the Akigumi boys "acting" like he's their dad (maybe similar to what happened with Itaru in the Spring Year 1 arc?)... Bonus points if they somehow convinced Izumi to play "Mom" instead of Omi, for one day only 😉⭐ (btw sorry if this is too detailed 😅 I got super excited)
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
It started once Sakyo opened up his newspaper and sat at the head of the table.
“Morning, dad!” Taichi said like an excitable puppy when he danced his way into the kitchen (he street dances when he has the time, leave him alone), Omi following after him.
There was an oddly ominous feeling to the tallest member of the troupe as he smiled and gave Sakyo a salute.
Sakyo jutted his chin in greeting.
He ignored the nickname Taichi tacked on at the end of his own greeting and took a sip of coffee from his cup, shaking his newspaper like an old man would as Taichi popped some bread into the toaster.
“Nanao.” He said, indifferent.
Taichi pouted at Omi who chuckled.
“Hey, pops.” Banri strutted in with a crooked smile and caught the apple that Omi tossed in his direction, teasingly wiggling his fingers at Sakyo who was grimacing at the weird nickname.
What is going on.
“Dad.” Juza greeted softly with a polite bow towards Sakyo who pursed his lips; just a little unimpressed.
Omi handed the oldest Hyodo brother a plate of pancakes and began to start on Izumi’s breakfast before she arrived.
“Hey, Ma.” Banri said with an endearing smile when Izumi entered the kitchen after a while, still disoriented and sleepy even though she took ten minutes in the bathroom washing her face and brushing her teeth.
“Mm.” She mumbled tiredly and rubbed her eye with a yawn, patting Juza on the head who was already digging into his pancakes.
“Mom! Do you know what today is?” Taichi shouted from the other side of the kitchen where he was toasting another few pieces of bread.
Sakyo frowned at the weird atmosphere Taichi and Banri were creating.
Mom? Dad? What the hell are these kids thinking?
Izumi squinted at Taichi who was now slathering an ungodly amount of butter onto his finished toast, running a hand through her hair with another yawn.
“What is it?”
And with her answer did Taichi suddenly break into a gasp, a hand clutching his chest as he stared wide eyed at Izumi who was trudging towards Sakyo who was glaring at the kid over his newspaper.
“MOM. I know your relationship with pa isn’t that good, but you can’t tell me you forgot his birthday!” Taichi cried out loud, shoving his toast into his mouth due to his stomach growling. “Don’t tell me this is just the tip of the iceberg.”
“You two are divorcing?!” Banri shouted equally as loud much to the dismay of Sakyo, Izumi rubbing a hand down her face as she tried to make sense of it all.
Banri slammed his palms on the table while Juza continued to shove his pancake into his mouth, eyes exaggeratedly sad as he looked at a barely coherent Izumi.
“Who’s taking custody?” Omi was asking the real questions, but it didn’t matter when the whole situation happening right now did not make any sense.
“Will you guys shut up?” Sakyo groaned, too annoyed to even feel embarrassed. What the hell kind of skit was he taking part in this time?
“You’re all brats.” Izumi sighed tiredly and placed a hand on Sakyo’s shoulder to soothe the angry man, slipping her hand beneath her shirt to scratch at her stomach.
Lazily, she leaned down and went to greet Sakyo with a kiss to his cheek, her lips warm on his skin.
“Happy birthday, pops.” She said casually, voice still laden with sleep as she brushed her nose along his cheekbone before placing one more kiss to his temple. “Be nice to the kids.”
Sakyo froze, nearly dropping his cup of coffee. Thankfully Izumi decided to steal his mug though, and she sipped at the hot beverage while trailing her hot palm along the back of his neck as she walked towards where Taichi and Omi were slapping each other’s arms.
“Wow.” Banri whistled. “The outcome was even better than I expected.”
Juza nodded in agreement and smiled at Sakyo whose face was burning up.
“What the fuck.” Azami stood at the doorway; having witnessed the physical affection. “What the fuck.”
Izumi looked over to where the youngest member stood and smiled lazily, waving Azami over.
“Jealous? Does my little one want a kiss too?”
“No fuckin’ way in hell.” Azami seethed, pink dusting his pale cheeks as Taichi raised his hand with a bright smile.
“I want one!”
Izumi laughed faintly and ruffled Taichi’s hair, making the kid bend down so that she could kiss his forehead while Sakyo pinched his nose between his fingers.
“I’m literally a head taller than her.” Azami complained as he sat down beside Juza who was raising his hand too, Banri also waving his hand.
Azami cried into his hands when Izumi started handing out motherly kisses to everyone else in the troupe, Sakyo watching on with an amused (and in love) expression.

I had the idea of Juza hugging Kumon and his mom, crying bc he was finally able to audition/get accepted into theatre, and then I wrote this.
read on a03
gift for @xxxbookaholic
Juza had told his mother and brother about his dreams of being an actor a lot. They supported him through it all. He went to auditions for the school plays and was turned down immediately. In his first year of middle school, he stopped going to auditions. What was the point if he was only going to be turned away in the end? Juza had long since given up hope on his dream, yet now, just a few years after he had given up he got to see his cousin on stage. Muku who had always been anxious and shy was standing boldly on stage and being a new person. Juza wished he could do that. To stand on stage and be someone that people would be afraid of or start fights with. He wanted a place to escape. After the play had ended, Juza got up to leave, he didn’t want to embarrass Muku by showing his face backstage, besides Mom was back home with Kumon who was sick with a fever and could probably use some help around the house. A small flyer caught his attention. He wasn’t sure why he grabbed it, he just knew he had to keep it away from his family. He had long since given up on his dream to stand on stage, he hadn’t auditioned in years, he hadn’t been to a theatre in years before tonight, and still, he found himself folding the paper into a small square and shoving it in his pocket.
Mankai Company is looking for actors for the new Autumn Troupe. Auditions are going to be held tomorrow, August 28, at 9 am in the Mankai Theatre.
When Juza got home he kept the paper in his pocket so it wouldn’t be found and put his jacket on his bed. All auditions ended the same for him. He knew he’d be turned away at the door. If he didn’t tell mom or Kumon, well it’d just keep them from feeling sad for him. He went to check on Kumon who was sleeping, and made his way back to his room to get ready for bed. He fell asleep to thoughts of standing on stage.
The next morning, Juza got ready quicker than normal. He didn’t want to be late to the auditions. Better to be early so nobody else could see him get turned away as soon as he walked in. He checked his jacket pocket and sighed in relief, the paper was still there so nobody knew. He checked on Kumon, who was still sleeping and feverish, before hugging his mother and telling her he’d be back a little bit later.
Juza would have been on time had it not been for the punk Banri following him and trying to pick fights with him every other minute. Now, because he had to spend so long trying to ditch Banri, he was late and would have to deal with the embarrassment of everybody seeing him turned away at the door.
He looked at the theatre sign. Maybe he could just walk away now and forget about all of this.
“Excuse me, are you here for the Autumn Troupe auditions?”
Juza turned around, very surprised at the sudden voice next to him. It was a shorter man with glasses and a really bad sense of style.
“Don’t be shy, come on in!”
“Who are you?”
“I’m Isuke Matsukawa, the manager at Mankai. The director is inside with the Summer Troupe and a couple others who just walked in. Would you like me to show you to the stage where the auditions are going to be?”
Juza was confused. This short man, Matsukawa, was offering to show him to the stage for auditions? Was he really not going to be turned away? Would he actually have a chance? For the first time since he saw the paper, he wished he had mentioned it to his mom and brother. They’d be so happy he’d get to actually audition.
“Thank you. That would be nice, sir.”
“You can drop the sir part, it makes me feel old. Anyway, follow me!”
Matsukawa led Juza into the theatre where he had been the night before, watching Muku shine on stage. Today he saw the summer troupe in casual clothes and two boys who were chatting with everybody there. In the middle of the group was the odd one, the only girl. She had long brown hair that went down to her waist and Juza thought her eyes looked like they were the same color as caramel.
“That’s Izumi Tachibana, the director. She’s doing the auditions today!”
Juza suddenly felt his heart drop. Girls tended to avoid him or run away from him and if she was doing the auditions, she probably wouldn’t take him seriously, if she even let him up on stage at all.
“Director” Matsukawa called out and Izumi looked up and smiled. “I found someone interested in auditioning!”
He led Juza down to the group, and suddenly he was standing next to Muku.
“Ju-”
Juza slightly shook his head. He didn’t want them to think any less of Muku because they were related. It’d be best if Muku didn’t talk to him casually.
“What’s your name?” Izumi asked as Matsukawa made his way outside.
“Juza Hyodo.”
“Hi, Juza, I’m Izumi Tachibana, the director of Mankai Company. The summer troupe is here helping with auditions!”
“I’m Muku Sakisaka.”
“Kazunari Miyoshi, my dude! Nice to meet you!”
“I’m Yuki Rurikawa. Yes, I wear dresses and yes, I am a boy. Hack, just because you’re a celebrity doesn’t mean you happen to be exempt from introductions!”
“I know that! And I’m not a hack! Tenma Sumeragi, Summer Troupe leader.”
“Hiiiiiiiiiiiii! I’m Misumi! Do you like tri-tri-triangles?”
This was a weird bunch of people. “Nice to meet you all and triangles are cool I guess?”
The purple haired one, Misumi smiled at him and shoved something in his hands. “Here’s a Mr. Triangle for you! He’ll give you good luck!”
“Misumi.” Izumi called out. “We’ve talked about this. You have to ask if it’s okay to give them a Mr. Triangle.”
“Because people may not like it being shoved at them and I need to wait for an answer?”
“Exactly! I’m glad you remember it, but you should apologize and ask if he wants to still hold it, okay?”
“Okaaaaaay.” Misumi turned away from Izumi back to him. “Sorry for shoving a Mr. Triangle at you. I should have asked if you wanted to hold him before giving him to you, because it’s rude to randomly shove things at people and I should have waited so you could answer. Do you still want to hold Mr. Triangle?”
Juza smiled at him. “If it’s okay with you, I’ll hold him. Thank you.”
Misumi smiled. “Yay! Juza likes the Mr. Triangle!”
“Alright boys, if you’re auditioning I want you to line up in front of the stage! Summer Troupe, you can sit down along the first row if you want.”
Juza made his way to the stage next to two others. A man with brown hair and a scar on his chin and a boy with red hair. They both smiled at him and he smiled back.
“I found another one interested!” Matsukawa burst in and Juza felt his heart drop as he stared at the face who was beside him, Banri Settsu.
“I didn’t say I was interested, asshat! I was looking for someone to fight!”
“What are you doing here?”
Banri noticed Juza standing there. “That’s my line, asshole.” He took a step forward and Juza followed suit. Red hair looked like he was trying to solve a puzzle. Brown hair had a look on his face that Juza couldn’t read.
“Well, this isn’t very peaceful.” Brown hair spoke up.
Suddenly Red hair’s face lit up. “I know you, Juza! You go to my school!”
Banri shot off another insult and Juza fired one back. They kept this going until a voice cut through.
“Will the both of you stop with the shouting! If you don’t wanna be here then leave. The only fights that should happen in theatre are stage fights!”
Juza and Banri both froze to see a blonde man standing in the doorway with a very serious look on his face. Juza stepped back beside red hair. Banri stood on his other side. Izumi’s face lit up. Juza noticed Muku looked scared. If he learned that the blonde man had somehow hurt Muku, he would fight him right here.
“Thank you for coming! I didn’t think you’d make it!”
“Wait, Sakyo was the other person you scouted for Autumn?”
Juza filed this information away. If Muku knew the man’s name was Sakyo and looked scared of him, something might have happened and Juza was ready to throw punches if he learned of any incidents.
“It’s the Yakuza.” Green hair said, Juza thought they said their name was Yuki, but he couldn’t remember.
And then his full line hit Juza as red hair spoke up. “Y-yakuza?”
“Now, now, looks can be deceiving.” Izumi spoke up. “Sakyo has watched over the theatre for years. He knows and loves this company more than anybody else here. I think he’s a necessary asset to us.”
“So he’s not just a scary debt collector?” Tenma asked.
“Can we stop with the idle talking and get on to acting? I have other things to do today.” Sakyo spoke up.
Izumi nodded and gestured for him to join the line and then passed lines to everybody. “When you boys go up on stage I want you to introduce yourself and tell us your experience with acting, then recite the lines I gave you.”
Brown hair went up first. “My name is Omi Fushimi, I’m a uni student at Yosei University, and I’m in the photography club. I’ve never acted before.”
Juza thought Omi did well. His voice was loud and clear, even if he didn’t know how to move. He finished and Izumi gestured for him to join Summer Troupe in the front row.
Red hair walked up. “My name is Taichi Nanao, and I’m a second year at O High! I’m a total newbie to this as well!”
For being a total newbie, Taichi did amazing. His voice was loud and clear, and his actions were a bit clumsy, but you could tell what he wanted to show.
Izumi pointed at Banri and he went up. “Banri Settsu, Hana High third year. Never been on a stage before.”
Juza hated to admit it, but Banri was good. He had good timing for pausing and expressed his emotions clearly, his voice was loud and clear. He was even better than Taichi had been.
“Are you sure you’ve never been on stage before?”
“Yeah, but it ain’t no problem for me.”
“Alright. Can you come join the others on the front row? Juza, you’re next.”
Juza was terrified. “I’m Juza Hyodo, a third year at O High. I’ve never acted before.”
He went through his lines and when he was done he looked into the audience seats. Summer Troupe looked intrigued, Omi had a sad smile on his face, and Taichi gave him a thumbs up. Banri started laughing.
“You are the worst, Hyodo, I swear-”
“Banri, if you are going to bully Juza or anybody else you will not be allowed to join this company do you understand.” Izumi had a steely look on her face and Juza imagined that if she got really angry she’d be scarier than the Sakyo guy.
“I want to join the theatre, please.” Juza ignored Banri and bowed as low as he possibly could.
“Stand up, Juza. You can join.” Izumi smiled softly at him.
“Really?”
“Of course. Go sit in the front row.’
“How do you plan to improve Hyodo’s acting?”
“Izumi makes training regimens for each actor so they can work on the things they struggle with! They’re really fun and the others are always happy to join you if you want them too! They helped me be less anxious!” Muku spoke up. Summer troupe nodded.
“Yeah, Sakuya, the Spring Troupe leader, said that she’ll adjust the regimens as needed!” Tenma added on. “She does her research and thinks about what would be best for each actor to develop and grow, both on and off stage!”
“So he’s really going to join?” Banri seemed like he was trying to convince himself it was a joke.
“It’s better to have someone with little talent and lots of passion than someone with some talent and no passion. If you don’t like it, you can leave, the door is back there, boy.”
“What’d you just say to me, you old man?”
“Alright, both of you, stop it. Juza is joining and that’s final. Juza, you can come find a seat down here.”
Juza sat beside Misumi and pulled the Mr. Triangle out of his pocket. “Do you want your triangle back?”
Misumi smiled at him. “You can keep him! He’s going to bring you good luck!”
Juza smiled at him. “Thank you, Misumi.”
Sakyo walked on stage. “I’m Sakyo Furuichi. I work with the Ginsenkai Family. I acted as a kid, but I haven’t been on stage since.”
Though he said he hadn’t been on stage since he was young, Juza could tell he remembered the basics. His voice was clear and smooth, and his actions were clumsy like Taichi’s but he was able to cover up some of the clumsiness by changing his actions.
“Welcome, boys, to the Mankai Company Autumn Troupe! Now, for some smaller details now that you’ve joined. Mankai company has dorms that are available if you want to stay there. If you are a minor, I will need to call and talk to your parents to get their permission. If you don’t want to stay in the dorms, or you are unable to, you can still travel between the theatre and your house.”
The other four boys volunteered to stay in the dorms and after some phone calls Banri and Taichi were allowed to join Omi and Sakyo in the dorms.
Izumi turned to Juza. “Would you like to stay in the dorms? Moving day is next Saturday.”
“Can I talk to my family first and talk to you about it later?”
Izumi smiled. “Of course. Sakuya from Spring Troupe is usually here practicing, but the others come in often as well, so stop by here and someone can lead you to the dorms to talk to me, okay.”
Juza nodded. The boys all went their separate ways.
Juza felt like he was in a dream his entire walk home. For the first time in his life, he was able to audition and he got accepted in, even though he was so bad compared to everyone else. He opened the door. “I’m home.”
“Welcome back, Juza!” His mom poked her head around the corner. “Juza, baby, what’s wrong?”
“Huh?”
“His mom wiped her thumb across his face. “You’re crying. Did something happen? Are you hurt?”
“I- actually, is Kumon awake?”
“Yeah, his fever went down a bit. He’s been waiting for you. Let me check you for injuries.”
“Mom, I’m not injured, I swear, but I need to talk to you and Kumon together, so I’ll bring him to the couch, okay.”
“If you insist you aren’t hurt, I’ll believe you, but if you are lying to me, you’ll be in trouble.”
“Understood.” Juza smiled and made his way to Kumon’s room. He knocked on the door.
“Come in.”
“Hey, Kumon. Are you feeling better?”
Kumon beamed at him. “Yep! My fever went down a bit! Are you crying? Is everything okay? Did you get hurt? Does mom know?”
“Kumon, I’m not hurt.”
“Pinky promise?” Kumon held up a hand, pinky extended.
Juza linked their hands, “Pinky promise.” Kumon smiled. “Good.”
“I do need to talk to you and mom together. Are you feeling well enough to go to the couch?”
Kumon nodded. “Yeah, I can do that.”
Juza stayed by his side as they made their way down the hall to the living room. Kumon sat on the couch and tried to catch his breath. Their mom walked in and handed Kumon a glass of water before sitting down next to him. Juza sat across from them on the other couch.
“I didn’t tell you where I was going today.”
“Yes, you did leave that detail out when you left.”
“I found a flyer last night. For auditions for a theatre troupe.”
Kumon looked up with wide eyes and his mom smiled at him gently. “Is that why you were crying? Did you get turned away again?”
“No, they let me audition.”
His mom and Kumon froze for a moment before smiling like crazy.
“What happened, Juza?” Kumon was vibrating in his spot.
“I got accepted into the theatre company.” Juza was aware that tears were falling down his face again, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care as his brother and mother ran over to hug him.
“Which theatre company did you join?”
“Mankai Company.”
“I’ve heard of them somewhere.”
“Auntie and Uncle mentioned them. It’s Muku’s theatre troupe.”
“You’ll be acting with Muku!”
“No, Mankai is split into four sub-troupes based on the seasons. Muku is in the Summer Troupe. I am in the Autumn Troupe.”
“That’s amazing!”
“There’s more. They have dorms. The director wanted to know if I’d be interested in staying there. Moving day is next Saturday, and she’ll need your permission to allow me to stay there.”
His mom smiled at him. “Do you want to stay in the dorms?”
“I do. There are other actors there I can learn from and I want to stay close so I can get along with my troupe mates.”
“Then I give my permission.”
“I’ll visit often, I promise.”
“Juza, what’s in your pocket?”
Juza pulled out the Mr. Triangle. “When I first walked into the theatre one of the Summer Troupe boys, Misumi, shoved it in my hands. He said it was a Mr. Triangle for good luck. He also told me I could keep it.”
“That was very kind of him.”
“It must really have good luck in it! You get it and then you can audition for the first time and you get accepted into the same troupe as Muku!
Juza smiled. “I think you’re right, Kumon.”
“When can I talk to the director about you staying in the dorms?”
“She said that tomorrow there’ll be guys in the theatre who can take us to the dorms to talk to her.”
“I wanna go too.”
“If your fever is still there, you’ll be staying in bed. If it’s gone, you have baseball practice.”
“Oh, yeah.”
“Don’t worry Kumon. I’m sure you can stop by to visit the dorm sometime.”
“Okay.”
The next morning Juza wove through the streets with his mother until they were in front of the theatre. Juza opened the door.
“Citron, I don’t think that prop can be used as a sword1” A pink-haired boy was frantically trying to take a prop away from a man in a foreign looking outfit, who was laughing as he swung the prop around. The pink-haired boy looked up. “Oh, hello! I’m Sakuya, leader of the Spring Troupe! Can I help you?”
“I’m Juza Hyodo, this is my mom. I auditioned yesterday and needed to talk to my family about the dorms. I was told I could come here and someone would be able to bring me to the Director?”
“Nice to meet you, Juza! Nice to meet you, ma’am!” Sakuya smiled and jumped off the stage, the other one (Citron?) following close behind. “Just follow us!”
“Hi! I’m Citron!”
“Hello. Thank you.”
Sakuya and Citron led Juza and his mom down the road until they were in front of a large dorm building. Misumi was laying on the ground with a boy Juza didn’t recognize from auditions. Kazunari and Yuki saw Juza and made their way over.
“Hey! It’s Hyodle! What’s up, my dude? You here to talk to the director?” Kazunari was bouncing with energy.
“Hyodle?”
“Sorry, Friendly McExtrovert here gives everybody nicknames like that. I’m Yuki, in case you didn’t remember my name. There were a lot of names to remember yesterday.”
“We needed to talk to the director. Sakuya and Citron brought us here.” Juza looked around and realized the two had disappeared.
“They probably went back to the theatre. If they brought you here then they probably went back to clean up and lock up the theatre. They’ll be back soon.” Yuki turned and waved for them to follow.
Inside was chaotic. Several boys were running around. A couple of boys were arguing in the corner about something. Izumi stepped out from the hallway and all the boys froze.
“Please keep it down, I’m on the phone with Sakuya. He did well on his history test so he gets to choose what dinner is tonight.” She looked up and smiled at Juza and his mom. “I’ll be with you two in a moment, please, have a seat.”
Several boys finally noticed Juza and his mom standing awkwardly off to the side. Izumi stepped back into the room. “Would you two like to talk in the courtyard outside? Or maybe the kitchen?”
“The kitchen would be fine, dear.”
Juza and his mom followed Izumi back.
“Your name is Juza Hyodo, right?”
Juza nodded.
“Great! I wanted to make sure I remembered it properly.” She sent a smile to him and directed her attention to the side. “Are you his parent?”
“Yes, I’m his mother.”
“I’m assuming you’re here to talk with me about whatever decision you’ve made regarding the dorms.”
“You would be correct, dear. I wanted to let you know I’m giving permission for him to stay here.”
“That’s great! Saturday is move in day and we’ll decide roommates then too! Do either of you have questions about anything?”
“I have a few for you, dear.”
“Okay, ma’am. Juza, if you don’t have any questions you are more than welcome to go introduce yourself to the spring and summer troupes and explore the building.”
Juza nodded and got up.
This would be the start of a new Juza Hyodo.

about itaru having to work overtime and chikage driving him back home. itaru falls asleep on chikage’s shoulder during the ride home, and chikage gently threads through itaru’s bangs with his fingertips when he reaches a red light. he doesn’t notice it, but his eyes soften as itaru’s lips curl into a sleepy smile. chikage doesn’t know what he’s dreaming about, but he thinks that maybe for a moment it’s because itaru can be content with him.
about chikage smiling and then quickly replacing it with a placid neutral expression when itaru tells him it’s okay to feel things. that he doesn’t need to hide his feelings from mankai, at least, because mankai, and especially itaru, would never judge him for being himself. he reminds chikage that as much of a useless adult as itaru is, not once have the others given him a hard time for it, or questioned him when he asked them to pull his gacha, or blamed him when he couldn’t keep up with the others. “you’re not useless,” is all chikage says, but he lets itaru take off the glasses and wipe the tear that’s just fallen. and chikage lets himself feel.
about both of them getting antsy during a work event and quietly sneaking away somewhere private where they can both finally let down the masks. chikage dusts off his blazer after being patted on the back and touched on the shoulder one too many times, and lets himself scowl from the unwarranted physical contact. itaru drops the princely smile, immediately pulling out his phone to use up his replenished stamina, and they both sit together and enjoy the comfortable silence. hands find each other in the dim light, but it’s the first welcomed touch—one of reassurance. it’s not too big of a deal the next day; both of them are skilled liars and quashing rumours comes easy, one way or another.
about itaru standing a little closer to chikage during practices. no one else notices it all that much, really, but they seem to gravitate towards one another. whether it’s chikage correcting itaru’s form, or itaru leaning in close to see chikage’s script and tell him what his character’s probably feeling because it’s not always murderous intent, senpai. when they practice etudes, the story becomes so complex that tsuzuru finds himself nodding in appraisal. maybe he’ll make itaru the protagonist in a video game story someday, but a harem doesn’t feel like it would begin to compare to the dynamic with the deuteragonist. because when they’re together, it’s like they’re in their own world. when they come back and practice ends, sakuya comments on how much their dynamic has improved, and masumi looks at chikage and mutters something about no curry competition. citron doesn’t quite say anything, but itaru finds a number of bl games in his drawers later.
about the other troupe members beginning to notice things. the winter troupe leaves sly little couple gifts outside their room, and banri and taichi start trying to guess what really goes on in room 103. azami starts keeping an extra close eye on where their hands are in case he needs to prevent any illicit hand-holding, and just to mess with him, chikage moves his hand right to itaru’s rear. itaru raises an eyebrow at him, but he can’t help finding it a little amusing. sakyo starts wondering when he’ll need to start getting the walls soundproofed, since itaru’s gaming was already loud enough. omi likes to make little chocolates and leave them at their tables sometimes. the summer troupe goes all out, leaving all types of couple fashion and wedding magazines (thank you, muku).
about them finally giving in and letting themselves finally smile at one another, about both of them moving closer after this too-long dance, and finally murmuring the words that they never thought they would be able to say, as their foreheads are pressed against one another’s.

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 15: PAINFUL RE:BAKE - Episode 32: Wolves
Tumblr media
Kumon: 3Q’s ranking will be uploaded any minute now!! What do we do!?
Azami: There’s nothing we can do now.
Kazunari: It’s all G! “Picaresque Returns” has been getting good reviews online, we’re definitely moving up in the rankings.
Banri: Well, all we can do is wait for the results, let’s rest a lil.
Juza: We did all we could.
Sakyo: There’s no point in worrying about it now.
Taichi: My audition pilgrimage prepared me for this exact moment, bring it on~!
Omi: The boscaiola pizza and pumpkin pizza are ready~
Tsumugi: The Autumn Troupe are all sort of calm.
Homare: That goes to show they know just how much they put into their play, yes?
Itaru: It’s up. MANKAI Company is–
Taichi: 11th! That’s an improvement!
Sakyo: But still not enough to qualify.
Banri: Damn, so close.
Tsumugi: I think this is a good enough improvement considering how many strong competitors we have.
Omi: Furinkazan and GOD-za both ranked higher too.
Juza: Exactly what you’d expect of ‘em.
Azami: And Hyakka Troupe’s 7th.
Banri: For real? And here he was talking about them falling off last time…
Omi: Isn’t this thanks to you two appearing as guests?
Sakyo: So you ended up helping the enemy…
Azami: We ranked up too, I’d say it’s alright.
Banri: Still, we can’t let our guard down in 4Q. All the talented troupes are gettin’ a hang of things and increasin’ their ranking.
Juza: Well, the baton’s in the Winter Troupe’s hands now.
Taichi: Right! Tonight we celebrate~!
-
Juza: Hm…
Sakyo: You’re savoring that drink, huh?
Juza: Azuma-san brought a bunch of sweet drinks, and I couldn’t help myself.
Juza: But, y’know, Settsu’s actin’ was real good today. ‘t was fun to stand next to him.
Juza: Feels like I totally understand what being partners with someone means…
Banri: Pfff! So honest! Don’t make me laugh. This is why I hate it when you drink.
Taichi: They’re both drunk~
Sakyo: Settsu's a merry drunk as usual…
Azami: Hard to believe they’re the same guys pulling off crazy action stunts on stage.
Omi: That reminds me… I’ve got an update to report to you all regarding the workshop.
Omi: Zen-san and I plan on making it a regular thing starting with the third one.
Omi: We’re also thinking of increasing the frequency, so we’re going to ask some of the Wolf members to help with the management.
Sakyo: Good idea. The Autumn Troupe and Yuzo-san might not be enough if that’s your plan
Izumi: The Action Workshop will also be in high demand from the cast members of Zen-san’s shop, so I think it’s a good idea.
Azami: There were lots more participants in the third one, too.
Omi: And I was also thinking of offering boarding like I did to Keiku the first time around, so that more kids like him with no place to go would come, but–
Omi: When I talked to Zen-san about this, he said it’d be better if we created a group for it. I’ve decided to call it “Wolves”.
Taichi: Ohh~! It’s like, the newborn Wolves!
Omi: I’ve realized that what I truly want to do is give a place to belong to those who don’t have that.
Omi: So, I don’t want to do this half-heartedly… I want to devote my life to it.
Azami: I think that’s good. It’s a choice that suits you.
Sakyo: Right. This is something you can do exactly because of who you are.
Banri: I’m sure there’s a lotta people who’ll be saved by a place like that.
Omi: In the end, I truly prefer working for other people’s sake rather than my own. I can give it my all that way.
Omi: I was worried that’d mean I wouldn’t be facing myself, but…
Omi: Now I can proudly puff out my chest and say that doing something for someone else benefits myself, too.
Juza: All of us will be rooting for you.
Taichi: Let us know if we can help in any way!
Izumi: This is your big, new challenge, Omi-kun.
Omi: Yeah. ... I swear I’ll see it through.

bad hair day!
🍁🛹 nanao taichi
“where is he?!”
sakyo stared down at you, opening the door after waking up to repetitive pounding that nearly shook the whole dorm
you were still in your pajamas and out of breath—did you run over here?
before sakyo could angrily swear at you for making no sense just past midnight, you ducked underneath his arm and escaped around the corner
although some dorm lights were on, most of the rooms were pitch black as expected of it being a school day tomorrow. you were about to sprint into the slightly ajar door of room 105 before omi stepped out, an amused smile greeting you
“taichi’s in the bathroom, if you’re looking for him.” omi gestured towards the shared bathrooms at the end of the hallway, to which you gratefully thanked him and ran off again
(omi looked after you, a smile upon his tired expression. “kids these days.” omi yawned, heading back into his dorms and shutting the door softly behind him)
you didn’t take as much consideration into your actions before you slid into the communal bathroom, slamming the door behind you with uncontrollable force. you leaned against it, panting as you finally saw him
nanao taichi was sitting near the sink with three (3) boxes of random hair dye on the counters, very obviously confused and distressed
“taichi, what’s the emergency?!”
“my hair dye isn’t the right shade!”
“... are you serious?”
this was it. it was hair–dye day
except this time, it wouldn’t be just taichi’s hair transformation—you were getting a new look, too!
how did you get yourself into this mess exactly? maybe sleepily reading an urgent message from your best friend late at night declaring he was having an “emergency” wasn’t a good idea after all...
there was something about taichi’s big puppy eyes that couldn’t make you say no despite all your frustration, so here you were, tiredly following an overexcited boy down the aisles of the local convenience store
did i mention it was way too late? on a school day, by the way? i didn’t, well, now you know!
“taichi,” you called out, rubbing the sleepiness from your eyes and tried not to wince at the bright led lights of the display. taichi barely paid attention, humming an incoherent answer as he browsed the rainbow shelf of hair dyes in front of him
“don’t you think... we should wait until tomorrow?” taichi seemed to process your words a moment late, because he turned towards you, bewildered as if you were the crazy one
yeah, you were crazy. taichi definitely wasn’t holding three wildly different boxes of hair dye and debating between all of them. he also definitely didn’t mislead you into thinking something happened when all he had was s bad hair day. you knew you had to intervene or else his usual red would become kazunari’s palette
“tomorrow? what’s wrong with now?”
“it’s almost midnight, we have school in nearly seven hours, and i know for a fact you didn’t do your homework.”
(taichi flinched at that and you were unsatisfied to see you were right, as always)
“i know that, but!—” “it’s midnight.” “hey, new day, new you, right?” “we have school in a few hours.” “think of how cool you’ll be showing up with dyed hair!” “you have homework.”
“i know, i know,” taichi shrugged, holding the boxes up to his line of sight with serious consideration as he glanced at you. with one look at your tiredness, taichi put the red cart down and completely faced you, putting his hands on your shoulders with a pout
“come on, don’t be like that!” taichi whined, nearly stomping his feet when you just huffed and looked away. jumping so he stayed in your view, it was like a pet wanting attention and using its cuteness as its charm
“hey, hey, look at me, please~?” taichi dragged out, moving his hands so they cupped your cheeks. he made you look at him and all you saw was a backwards baseball cap on a head of nearly half black hair and wide cyan eyes. he looked fully awake, you wondered where his infectious energy came from
“turn that frown, upside down!” taichi turned the corners of your lips up with his pointer fingers, making you automatically smile with the way his giggle got louder. “that’s my best friend!” taichi patted your cheeks again and bounced back down to his heels, rocking back and forth on his worn down sneakers
“look at us! we’re two high schoolers about to make an impulsive decision! nothing could go wrong!” taichi laughed and although there were a million things that could’ve gone wrong, you just sighed with a smile on your face
“you’re right.” you said even if he wasn’t. taichi just picked the cart back up and tilted his head towards the dyes, asking for your opinion on what colors you liked
you chose red, too. when taichi questioned why curiously, you patted his head and responded with, “so we can match!”. the boxes of hair dye you both bought were red just like taichi’s face when you answered honestly
sneaking back into the bathroom to avoid the “you have school” lecture from a very pissed off sakyo who still couldn’t go back to sleep, you and taichi failed at hushed whispers. everything felt like a joke and it didn’t exactly help taichi found everything you did hilarious and comical
setting down the boxes like it was second nature, taichi let out a sound of excitement at the colors. even if you were running on little to no sleep, you felt the same with the adrenaline of looking like a new person in just a few hours
“we’re gonna look so cool!” taichi squealed, taking his time mixing the dye color with the bowl and brush quickly
you sat on the sink counter, swinging your legs as taichi leaned onto the surface next to you, rambling away about how popular red was this season and how all the students will fall in love with his trendiness
used to your friend’s lovesick, hopeless romantic antics, you fondly rolled your eyes as you stretched, stifling a yawn
“is that why you decided to dye your hair tonight?”
“... maybe. there was advice that having perfext roots would attract any woman in my favorite love advice column!”
“...” “do you think people will like my hair?” “they might think we’re a couple since we’re matching.”
taichi suddenly stopped mixing, staring at the bowl wide eyed at the red dye. you were about to ask what happened, before taichi nervously laughed and looked towards the ground
“u–us? a couple?! no way...” taichi blurted out, avoiding your eyes as he began mixing even faster
“do you want me to change my color then—?” you cautiously started, about to change your mind before taichi interrupted hastily, almost knocking the other boxes over by waving his gloved hands
“no! i mean, haha... no, no, it’s fine! don’t worry about it!” taichi laughed so you slowly nodded, not buying it but deciding to go with the flow anyways. you were too tired to think about it too hard
you both unanimously agreed that taichi would dye your hair first. after all, he had more experience doing this by himself until you came along
one thing though, you didn’t want to ruin your pajama shirt. after rummaging through his closet quietly, you felt a t–shirt land on your head and heard a victorious laugh from the doorway
lifting the shirt, you recognized the one–eyed monster graphic design on the front, its tongue sticking out with some graffiti text above its head
“are you sure? you always wear this one?” you hesitated to take it before taichi forced it back into your hands, his expression easy and humorous
“take it, it’ll look better on you, anyways.” taichi casually said and you wondered how many smooth pick up lines he’s been reading. but, one look at his light smile and you could tell he genuinely meant it
returning back into the bathroom wearing a black t–shirt, you had changed into his t–shirt as well. while you were making sure all the dyes were separated to avoid any accidents, you barely noticed taichi stop dead in his tracks
(how come you looked so... good, in his t–shirt? maybe, he should give you his clothes more often... taichi gulped, wondering why he was suddenly feeling this way. it must’ve been the lack of sleep, the tiredness of staying up past his usual bedtime, that’s all!)
“are you ready for the best hair day ever?”
unexpectedly, taichi was quiet for the next hour or so. you could tell from the way he carefully applied just the right amount on your roots to how he knew the time on the box without even looking
maybe it was the way neither of you had proper sleep schedules, but you nearly fell asleep when taichi began combing your hair. after letting it develop, taichi began evenly distributing the red color while humming a popular pop song from his playlist in the background
you didn’t know when you dozed off, but you woke up to a flash of a camera and heard taichi’s snickers right in front of you. rubbing your eyes, you sat up straighter to notice a plastic bag was wrapped around your hair with an empty bowl of red dye discarded in the sink
“morning, sleepyhead~!” taichi greeted way too happily at this hour, making you groan as you stood up. “you didn’t sleep, taichi?” you wondered out loud, noticing how he scrolled through his phone aimlessly with a nonchalant sound
“yawn—i mean! i’m not even tired, gotta wait for your timer to go off to rinse your hair!” (it was his rule that he was always the last person to sleep if he was with you) taichi proudly held up his phone and showed you the screen, as if you could see it from there
(maybe if you could, you would’ve prevented the disaster about to occur in the very near future)
“your turn, puppy. come over here.” you stretched and taichi squealed, running over just to nearly knock over the chair from excitement. taichi always liked doing things with you, and you pampering him made him feel a lot happier than he’d like to admit
“can you stay still?” “i’m trying~! geez, so mean first thing in the morning... uuh...” “awww come on, don’t act like a kicked puppy, taichi!” “woof...”
it was the saddest bark you’ve ever heard. you smiled even if taichi was squirming in his seat and pet his dry hair, your best friend automatically leaning into your touch with a content sigh as he closed his eyes. oh, finally! taichi went still, letting you start the dye process quickly
just like you, taichi was on the verge of staying awake and falling asleep. it was nice to have someone taking care of you like a little kid, not to mention how neither of you have slept for more than half a hour at time. as you applied the rest and making sure all the sections were even, taichi stirred in his sleep with a cute yawn again
“i’m cool, right?” taichi mumbled, seemingly getting closer and closer to snoring. you held back a snicker, nodding your head as you kept going with the dye. for your first time, it wasn’t even that bad
“yes, of course. you’re the coolest boy at o high, taichi.” you reassured truthfully, to which taichi pouted like a kid, crossing his arms and leaning his head back. you made sure none of the dye dripped off before you started painting the bright red on again
“that’s not true... juza and tenma go to o high... they’re so popular, everyone loves them.” taichi added on sadly, but you knew he meant it and it wasn’t just fishing for compliments. wondering why a boy as amazing as taichi would have an inferiorty complex, you frowned and tried to focus on applying the dye
“well, i think you’re the coolest to me, then. after all, juza and tenma don’t have this cool red hair!” you almost ruffled his hair but stopped, knowing it’d mess up the part. taichi must’ve sensed you were about to do so, because he let out a loud, sudden laugh with a big smile
“hehe, you’re the coolest to me, too!” taichi trailed off into a low voice, about to fall asleep for good. you wrapped his head to make sure the hair stayed in place, satisfied with your hard work and dedication to your best friend’s appearance
“do you say that to everyone you meet?” you joked, but taichi just shook his head vigirously, entering sleepy puppy mode anyways
“no, just you, you know why~?”
“why?”
“‘cause... i like y...”
taichi snored, his head falling lower as he fell asleep for good. you didn’t even process it, deciding to take the seat next to him without checking the time
time to get some shut eye...
you slowly woke up, realizing that you were now laying your head on top of taichi’s. he was almost drooling on your shoulder, even breaths leaving his lips as he continued sleeping. you lifted your head to look around for the reason why you woke up, until you noticed the constant ringing of taichi’s phone on the sink counter
“puppy, wake up, it’s time to rinse our hair.” you pushed taichi off, automatically waking him up as he rapidly blinked, trying to focus his blurry vision as he yawned
“... has the sun always been up?”
you froze, staring at taichi’s casual expression before it morphed into shock, his wide eyes finding yours with urgency. don’t tell me...
you rushed off the chair, nearly hitting it to the ground as you grabbed taichi’s vibrating phone, looking at the screen. instead of a timer for rinsing, it was labeled for starting the school day
“taichi.” you said, slowly turning to see him staring back at you. the realization dawned upon both of you severely. “we have school in less than a hour.”
mankai bathrooms were always chaotic in the morning, especially with twenty (20) plus boys all sharing one space. yet, today might’ve been the worst day to use the bathroom yet
you and taichi immediately began cleaning up and rinsing your hair at the same time, losing your minds over the lack of time as you two knew both your hair could not be saved
“what if i’m not cool anymore?!”
“can we focus on going to school on time?”
(banri and juza were exchanging their usual harsh morning greetings to each other, walking side by side to the bathroom only to hear taichi’s pierching shriek and your immediate scream back. they shared a look before collectively going back to their room, not wanting to know. it was the first thing they agreed upon in a while)
taichi dashed out of the bathroom with half a hour to spare, quickly putting on his uniform on without noticing omi who stood by the door, holding onto taichi’s backpack with an amused glint to his eyes
when taichi finally found his o high dark green blazer and pants (his dress shirt buttons were mismatched, but that wasn’t important), he was about to run right past omi before omi put his arm out, stopping taichi from leaving
“forgetting something?” omi held out taichi’s backpack with a packed lunch, making taichi exhale with relief as he took it gratefully. “omi, you’re the best ever!”
omi instead shook his head and crossed his arms, gesturing towards the bathroom where you were still cleaning up the red mess
“no, they’re the best. make sure you tell them that.” omi scolded gently, ruffling taichi’s hair but suddenly narrowing his eyes, looking the teen up and down with a confused look
“huh...? didn’t you dye your hair, why isn’t it that red?”
“don’t remind me, omi!”
(fun fact: leaving hair dye on for longer than 45 minutes will in fact, make the color much darker than intended)
(also... dry hair...)
you luckily brought your uniform, thinking the big emergency would require a sleepover. you stepped out of the bathroom and apologized to the bewildered and incredulous line that formed outside, rushing off to find taichi shoving a piece of bread in his mouth
“here! catch!” you assumed taichi tried to say, because his words were muffled as he threw you something from the kitchen. you caught it with ease, putting it in your pocket as you and taichi said goodbye to everyone in the dorms
you two didn’t even bother addressing why taichi’s hair was many shades darker and why yours was red as well. you two just left and prayed to whoever was listening you’d make it to school on time... or else
half way through making it out the door, you and taichi finally caught each other’s eyes and burst into laughter, nearly falling onto each other in the middle of the sidewalk like a bunch of weirdos
“yo! look at our hair!” taichi spluttered out, reaching up to touch your now red hair. you wheezed, trying to not cry from the sheer audacity of the strange situation at hand
“dude, look at your hair! it’s even darker!” you laughed and even though his bright red hair was apart of his identity, taichi couldn’t stop laughing just because he went through it with you
“am i still cool?”
“definitely, even cooler now, i think.”
the laughter died down and taichi wrapped his arm around your shoulder, grinning like there was no tomorrow
“you’re the best. i’m so lucky to have you.”
you suddenly remembered something you didn’t respond to just mere hours ago, and figured it was better late than never
“i like you, too.”
when taichi overcame his visible shock and multiple “are you serious?! don’t play with my feelings like that!” and figuring out you were being honest, he slipped his hand into yours with a visible jump to his step as you two walked to school
even if he wore gloves, his hands were still somewhat stained red from the hair dye that started it all
(“did you do the homework this morning?”)
(“... we had homework?”)
(“oh, taichi...”)

Their little habits towards you
I was doing these to get some inspiration into my brain and ended up liking the results.
Please enjoy! 💕
🌸 Sakuya has a habit of squeezing your elbow gently to get your attention whenever you’re doing something else. He wasn’t aware until someone mentioned it, making him blush.
🌸 Masumi has a habit of sitting silently next to you while listening to music. Whenever a song he likes pops up, he’ll unconsciusly take off one of his earbuds and place it on your ear, being his way of sharing things he likes.
🌸 Tsuzuru has a habit of rambling to you about details he learns from working on his scripts. If he notices it he usually groans and stops talking altogether, only for you to nudge him affectionately so he keeps going.
🌸 Citron has a habit of welcoming you with elaborated handshakes even though you two never plan them before-hand. He likes to see your face go from confusion to joy at the mess you make trying to follow his moves with a smile.
🌸 Itaru has a habit of naming or creating characters that resemble you as much as he can whenever he starts a new game. He uses it to test the first levels, sending pictures of said character defeating an enemy, trying garments, or just failing a path over and over to tease you.
“Lol it’s the 3rd time you died today, you okay?”
🌸 Chikage has a habit of subtly tugging you closer to his side whenever it gets too packed. Becomes hyper focused on the possibility of losing you in a crowd- not that he will show it.
-
🔆 Kazunari has a habit of calling you a different nickname almost every day: pumpkin, boo, sunshine… though at this point most of them are a bit of a stretch like art gallery, premium or goals, so you now end up responding to anything that might resemble him talking to you.
🔆 Tenma has a habit of sending a random ‘what are you doing’ or just texting complaints about how much the summer troupe messes with him whenever he misses you and wants to hang out, but is too embarrassed to say it.
🔆 Yuki has a habit of adjusting your clothes. No matter what, even if he’s talking to someone, if he sees you entering from the other side of the room he’ll eventually approach you to take care of your dishevelled shirts, jackets or rearranging your scarf.
“Good. Now you look decent”
🔆 Muku has a habit of calling for you whenever he bumps into things so you can personify them and he can properly apologize. Though it started as a joke from your part, now you can’t help but laugh at how immerse he gets into the conversations.
🔆 Kumon has a habit of playing with your fingers. If you two are sitting together he will definitely end up taking your hand in his at some point and unconsciously give you tiny massages.
🔆 Misumi has a habit of drawing tiny triangles on any paper or notebook you might leave on his sight next to a smiling face. Sometimes when you are visiting Mankai you feel something ticklish on the back of your hand, only to find Misumi drawing a cute triangle on it.
-
🍁 Juza has a habit of waiting for you when you are eating sweets together so that you both eat your last pieces at the same time. You insist he doesn’t have to, but he shrugs. They taste somewhat even sweeter this way.
🍁 Sakyo has a habit of messaging you the first part of a quote to make sure you have arrived at your place. When you reply with the end of the sentence that’s when he relaxes and knows you’re back safe and sound.
🍁 Omi has a habit of feeding you the very first bite of any meal he’s making when you are around, blowing it to cool it down. He likes to see your face light up, chuckling at your weird compliments.
“What do I get today?”
“Sir Omi, you just established the Empress of all grilled meats”
🍁 Azami has a habit of buying different creams and oils that he finds would be good for your skin. He then will give you pop quizzes from time to time to see if you are effectively following his instructions.
🍁 Taichi has a habit of looking for you before an important performance to exchange fighting poses in silence to hype himself up. The poses tend to get bigger and more extravagant until you both end up giggling so much Sakyo has to grab him to go backstage.
🍁 Banri has a habit of pinching your cheeks. It doesn’t matter if what you just said is the smartest thing in the world, a weird remark or asked for the weather, his hand will go directly to your cheek in seconds as he answers you.
“Ugh, can you please not?”
“Your fault for havin’ cheeks”
-
❄ Hisoka has a habit of resting his head on your shoulder. It doesn’t matter if you are standing up doing something or talking to someone, he’ll walk towards you and plop his head on it. Sometimes he even follows you when you resume walking and he’s too lazy to lift his head up.
❄ Tsumugi has a habit of singing happy birthday songs with you to the baby flowers on the courtyard when they bloom for the first time. You proposed it once and now he gets really excited whenever you visit, truly thinking they recognize the sound of your voices.
❄ Guy has a habit of offering his hand for you to support yourself at all times. When he opens a door and you are behind so you enter first, before sitting or when you are about to stand up.
❄ Azuma has a habit of drawing shapes on your back. It always makes you shiver and he chuckles, finding it cute. Sometimes he also writes words to which you’ll try to guess the meaning of.
“Wait, what did you just write?”
“Mhm? Ah, I wonder…”
❄ Tasuku has a habit of carrying stuff for you. Whether it’s bags or textbooks, he’ll always grab it for you at some point, sometimes forgetting to give it back and therefore bringing it to Mankai.
❄ Homare has a habit of placing his jacket on you, whether is to keep you from the cold, the rain or just as a comfort blanket if you ever feel upset. He sometimes might not know the right words to say, but hopes his presence and the weigh of his jacket makes you feel protected.
_________________________________________________________
Wishing you all a wonderful day!  💕

Happy Birthday, Sakuya 🌸
Without you, there won’t be Mankai Company and our story together wouldn’t have begun. In honor of your birthday and the release of your second solo song, please read the letters that I wrote for you about how the troupe members think about you.

I know the format might be weird, but I wrote this addressing Sakuya, so the ‘you’ here refers to Sakuya. I just thought of writing something for him to read so yes, do take note that you need to read everything below as if you’re Sakuya!
Tumblr media
Masumi Usui
Your days of taking care of him as a leader, as a friend, as a brother really made an impact to him. Although Masumi never explicitly reciprocated your love, he has grown to listen and respect you. Allowing you to be involved in his business, hugging him, choosing to depend on you, and taking the time to listen to your words are mere proofs of him considering you as part of his family.
Both you and Masumi never really knew what true family should be like, but I’m sure your time together made both of you understand what it meant to have a brother who would stick by your side no matter what.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru Minagi
He has immense faith in you, Sakuya. All the scripts he had written for your role have definitely been adjusted to suit you and you alone. He would have never written a role where he knew you couldn’t perform in.
Without you as the leader, he would also have gone mad dealing with the antiques of the other members. As much as he acts as the mediator, the middle ground of the chaos ensuing in Spring Troupe from time to time, he appreciates your presence as the leader who has grown so much more dependable throughout the years.
Dare I say, sometimes, he glances at you and smiles softly, proud you as one of his little brothers that he cherishes deeply.
Tumblr media
Itaru Chigasaki
Sure, he might view you as a token of gacha luck to bring that SSR home, but you’re definitely more than that. Him accepting his role as the father of Spring Troupe was his way of committing to the found family that he has now. The family that you have established.
Deep down, he’s eternally grateful for your ceaseless attempts to convince him to stay and perform with the troupe during Romeo and Julius. Without you, he wouldn’t have met this group of people with whom he could drop his mask and completely be his true self.
Tumblr media
Citron
He enjoys seeing your face light up with wonder and excitement not because he takes pleasure in teasing you, but I believe he wants to preserve that childlike innocence in you as much as possible.
Despite what others might think, I genuinely believe Citron only wants you to feel happy and ignore the negativity and evil that lie in this world. The greatest pleasure in his days has always been to see you smile right after you wake up and before you fall asleep at night. Don’t you think that’s why he enjoys telling you those magical, bombastic, wonderous stories?
Tumblr media
Chikage Utsuki
Admittedly, he still enjoys tricking you during your daily coin toss, but he will stop at nothing to ensure you do not need to worry about a thing in life.
After all, you were the first to not give up on him and still saw him favorably (or should I say objectively without any judgment) despite his actions towards Izumi and Mankai in general.
Tumblr media
Putting all the other troupe members under the cut so this won’t get too long!
Tumblr media
Tenma Sumeragi
You do know this child actor genius took the audition for Mankai because of you, right? You, who thought your acting was sub-par, turned out to inspire a veteran to face his fears and took that step.
How could Tenma ever thank you properly for that? That’s why as a fellow troupe leader, he would make sure to practice often with you, giving you acting pointers whenever he could. Not to demean you, but to lift you up so both of you can bloom together on stage as equals.
Tumblr media
Yuki Rurikawa
He comments about your naivety, but I dare say he actually envies you for it. Being part of the minority and adopting a cynical approach to life proves to be tiring at times. The positive outlook in life despite your background is definitely something that he has considered to adopt at some point in time.
To him, you’re a reminder that being positive is an option. As much as he seems baffled by your innocence, he is part of the crew that does his best to preserve that side of you.
Tumblr media
Muku Sakisaka
You two are angels! I can only imagine both of you continue being the precious babies that you are. Muku adores you and definitely considers you one of his precious older brothers.
His enthusiasm is reciprocated with you around and your presence lifts up his spirit as well. You are each other’s healing spirit in a way. Always be there for each other, and just by being together, both of you remind all of us that staying pure is a choice and such sight heals us on a daily basis.
Tumblr media
Misumi Ikaruga
He’s off on scavenging triangles for your birthday! Apparently, he heard the cats sang praises about you the other day. As thanks for being his friend and for being kind to the kitties, he’s going to find a special triangle just for you.
Thank you for being so kind and understanding to him, and for becoming his faithful friend, one of his precious treasures in life.
Tumblr media
Kazunari Miyoshi
How many times have you appeared in Kazu’s Inste feed, I wonder. He always seem to find joy in sharing what he found that might be of interest to you.
Both of you are expressive so it’s no surprise either when Kazu wants to hear your opinion on anything. Hope you find those times to be exciting. It is after all, quite rare, to find someone to be candid with these days.
Tumblr media
Kumon Hyodo
Both of you are quite literally sunshine in human form. At times too bright for some, but that’s why both of you should continue being you.
Even Kumon admits watching you lifts his spirits, can you imagine the influence you have in improving the mood of those around you? Sakuya, as Kumon said, please stay true to yourself and keep being you. Your smile and positivity radiate and I honestly think we all need someone like you in our lives.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Banri Settsu
Don’t feel bad if he lets you borrow his clothes, or if he buys you stuff! It’s his way of letting you know he cares deeply for you. Please don’t think that you’re not worthy of receiving such gifts or even having his company.
If anything, all he wants is to see you all happy with that beaming smile. Keep being the sunshine that you are because I’m sure that’s what Banri wants for you!
Tumblr media
Juza Hyodo
The passionate duo; both of you talk about acting a lot and I’m glad you have someone to share your thoughts and passion with.
Juza considers you as a companion of some sort, he seems to always asking you to practice or do etudes together. Just knowing that both of you can support one another in your endeavours is heartwarming. But, please don’t eat too much sweets if you can’t take it. I’m sure Juza would understand.
Tumblr media
Taichi Nanao
He likes to try out new things and he’s grateful that you are always open to his idea and agrees to accompany him whenever he tries them out.
Thank you for being a great friend for Taichi, but please make sure that you guys don’t go overboard and hurt yourselves. Wouldn’t want that to happen when you’re having fun, right?
Tumblr media
Omi Fushimi
How’s the Neapolitan that he cooked for you today? It must be delicious! All the love and affection he has for you has always been included in his cooking.
Thank you for being the best at helping him out in the kitchen and actually doing the chores. He appreciates it a lot, especially since the dishes don’t clean themselves and with more hands on deck, he is eternally grateful.
Tumblr media
Sakyo Furuichi
Both of you really have come along way, from him being doubtful about your potential until today. You did it, Sakuya! You proved him wrong, alright.
I believe you are his reminder to stay true to what your dreams are. In both of your cases, you both want to be an acknowledged actor. What a long way you two have come. Remember that you have the power to prove people wrong with your earnest determination and always remember that you manage to get Sakyo’s approval on your leadership and acting skills!
Tumblr media
Azami Izumida
This kid needs to learn a lot from you and he knows that even though he doesn’t readily admit to it. Being a leader isn’t a walk in the park, he realises that as soon as he meets the other troupe members.
Although both of you come from an entirely different background, with him being rebellious and all, he is bound to understand that being earnest as Sakyo has said, will benefit him in the long run. You are a great example for him to follow, and don’t need to feel the pressure! You’re fine the way you are, and this kid will soon learn so both of you can bloom together!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tsumugi Tsukioka
I’m pretty sure the cherry blossoms in the courtyard are well taken care of by Tsumugi because it also reminds him of you.
He looks out for you in the smallest ways which you might not have noticed. I’m pretty sure you realise by now that you can talk to him whenever you’re troubled, right? He will listen and he will be grateful he could be an emotional support for you.
Tumblr media
Tasuku Takato
Have you been working out a lot with him? I could start seeing those muscle lines on your arms and legs. Keep up the good work!
He cheers you on by always thinking of training menus for you, knowing that your motivation to be stronger is to build your stamina for better endurance while acting. Tasuku might not say anything, but deep down he appreciates you depending on him for such matters. (Don’t tell him I said this, please. He’ll deny it anyway)
Tumblr media
Hisoka Mikage
Being in the Christmas play together must have made you guys closer. Hisoka even mentioned how he looks forward to acting with you again.
Your caring nature did not go unnoticed. I believe he even gave you some marshmallows to try? And if that’s not him accepting you as one of his own, I don’t know what is.
Thank you for always looking out for him. He has you to thank for all the times he slept and was protected by the cold weather.
Tumblr media
Homare Arisugawa
I’m curious whether you actually understand Homare when he’s gushing about an inspiration for his poems. But, you always seem to listen intently and take the time to attempt at digesting the verses.
Homare adores you for that; not everyone can appreciate his poems, he knows that very well, but those who put in the effort to understand his world will always be remembered. And you, Sakuya, are one of them.
Tumblr media
Azuma Yukishiro
Being one of the oldest members of the company also meant that witnessing youth in action is always something that he looks out for everyday. This might explain why he’s a bit sad you’re one year older and more mature now.
His wish for you is simply to let you have no worries in life as you experience youth and the splendour it brings. You’re still young, so many doors of opportunities left to open. With that in mind, feel free to embrace your passion and continue pushing forward to reach your dream, Sakuya. He has your back and nothing will ever get in your way anymore.
Tumblr media
Guy
Honestly, please convince him that you enjoy Citron’s company. I’m confident that you never once considered Citron to be a nuisance or burden of any sort.
Just know that Guy is at your service for all the trouble that Citron has caused you. And in times of need, he will always be ready to assist you.

Hello there, i came back! Hope you are doing well 💕 If you had the time, I would love to see some headcanon or shorts, you decide, of maybe Tsuzuru and Banri? where reader works in another theatre and tends to bring props to Mankai for them to use. They start being concious around reader and Izumi or someone else notices it (and step in for the better or worse) thank you so much again!
this took so long 😓 I’m so sorry! School’s been taking up most of my time 😣 but thanks for the request! I hope you enjoy this... even if it’s a month(?) late
Minagi Tsuzuru
“Oh your dear is here,” Citron, the first member to notice Tsuzuru’s feelings for you in Spring Troupe, whispered to Tsuzuru as they watched you walk in the theater with Izumi beside you
Tsuzuru is far from glad at the news that Citron found out about his little crush, especially when the next day the whole troupe found out about it and soon asking him questions
Tsuzuru wanted to run away from the scene, Sakuya was stealing glances at him excitedly, Itaru was grinning and god knows what that adult has in mind, Citron was singing a love song in a language unknown to him and thankfully Masumi wasn’t paying them any attention and instead was focused on Izumi who was laughing with you
Suddenly Masumi scowled and turned to Tsuzuru, “Tell your crush to stop flirting with her.”
Scratch that, he wasn’t thankful for Masumi, if anything he probably made matters worse for him
You coughed to catch their attention and suddenly Tsuzuru wanted to go and have a talk with Masumi
“I brought the props you need for your next play!” You said cheerfully and placed down the boxes at the stage so they could rummage through it, suddenly you moved your head to the side and caught Tsuzuru by surprise when your gazes met and you winked at him
Tsuzuru felt his mouth run dry, with one thought running through his head, ‘They definitely heard Masumi.’
That was enough to induce panic within him, he loves his troupe members but he really wanted to tell off Masumi who was now acting like his usual self, following Izumi around while the other spring troupe members were giving him knowing glances
“Oh there’s still some boxes left at the lounge, anybody minds helping carry them?” Izumi asked the troupe members
Tsuzuru felt someone push him towards you, looking behind him he saw Citron mouthing ‘fighting’ at him
“Tsuzuru can help.” Itaru said smoothly, “Right Tsuzuru?” He winked at Tsuzuru who was losing color on his face
Tsuzuru turned to Sakuya but Sakuya-
“Oh look! There’s so many new items we have!” He beamed, “Thank you for bringing them over!” Sakuya said at you and started rummaging through the box, acting like he was busy with the things inside it
“Should we go?” You asked Tsuzuru, moving beside him and nudging him with your shoulder
Tsuzuru couldn’t help but jump back at the sudden contact
“Yeah, let’s go.” He hurriedly went out, hiding his red face from his troupe members
The two of you walked quietly, once you were out of earshot from the other members, Tsuzuru called you out
“Did you hear what Masumi said earlier?”
“Masumi? Did he say anything?” You asked innocently and Tsuzuru felt his shoulders relax, so you didn’t hear it, it relieved him-
“Aside from saying that I should stop flirting with Izumi and you had a crush on me?”
Tsuzuru wanted to go back on stage or maybe his room, he could use the excuse of writing a script or doing his homework
Suddenly you let out a laugh, “Don’t look so tense Tsuzuroon.” You smiled, “I like you too.” You winked at him, “And I wouldn’t mind if you asked me out on a date right here.”
Tsuzuru could feel his whole face turn bright red but instead of running away, he took a deep breath and asked you out on a date,
“The-then would you like to go out with me this weekend?”
Settsu Banri
Banri gritted his teeth but no, he isn’t angry at anybody, not even Juza who always found a way to get into his nerves
If there was anything he found annoying is how different he acted around you. He’s Banri Settsu, his life is on ultra super easy mode, he can do anything and be the best at it. From cooking, performing, academics and even girls
But why does he get flustered around you? Most of the time it’s the other way around, it’s always girls getting flustered around him
Letting out a groan, he hit his head on his pillow as Juza grunted at him to be quiet
“Shut your trap will you? And you better stop calling ____ in your sleep.”
He didn’t even reply, even if he wanted to, he couldn’t because he couldn’t form any comeback towards Juza’s statement
The next day, Banri was walking home from school when he caught a familiar figure walking out of a theater with a box in their arms
Shrugging, he strolled over to your struggling figure
“Need help?” He asked, already placing a hand from beneath the box and stealing the box from your grip onto his own
“You’re bringing this at Mankai, right?” He turned his head towards you as you nod
“Aight.” He grunted as he carried the box, “I’ll bring this,”
“I’ll come with you.” You said and walked beside him, “I have something to discuss with Izumi anyways.” You said and proceed to absentmindedly hum to yourself
Banri gulped, here it was again, that feeling he gets when he’s near you. He hated how you could easily get to him, he figured he had it bad with you, especially when he gets happy with something as simple as walking beside you
He wasn’t sure if it was because of Taichi who keeps on yapping about how great love was and how excited he was for Banri to finally go out with someone or Omi teasing him about his crush or because of Sakyo who suddenly held a sex ed class for the whole dorm and keeps on giving him stern looks
“Hey Settsu,” You cut through his thoughts
“Yeah?”
“Is something wrong? You’ve been quiet lately.” You said as you turned to him and stared at his face
“Did someone finally beat you at something? Did you get turned down?”
Banri couldn’t help but roll his eyes
“Nah, that’s impossible.” You said even before he could say anything, “Nobody would turn you down.” You said so sure of yourself, “You’re probably one of the most popular guys I know.” You let out a small laugh and returned your attention at Banri once again, just to see him smirking at you
“Nobody would turn me down huh? Does that mean you wouldn’t?”
Your throat ran dry at his question, surely he was joking, Just the typical Banri pulling your leg
“Yeah, I guess I won’t.” You agreed calmly, “Let’s go Settsu, Izumi must be waiting for that.”
Banri was left speechless at your confession- if he could count that as a confession that is. He was already sure of himself that he caught you in his web and left you flustered, but once again you managed to turn the tabled on him
“Yeah you wait just there.” He stopped you from taking another step, “Are you saying you wouldn’t mind goin’ out with me?”
You could feel your hands become clammy with nervousness at his questions, your thoughts getting filled with how much he’s messing with you
“Yeah, I wouldn’t. Would you?” The answer just came out suddenly that even you were surprised by your sudden burst of confidence
“So if I ask you to go out with me this Friday, you would say yes, right?” He asked and you were surprised to see his cheeks were red
“Yeah... yeah I would.” You agreed, stumbling on your words because of nervousness
Banri finally let out a breath of relief upon getting his reply. His confidence coming back at him
“Then I’ll pick you up this Friday then.” He grinned as he strolled to your side so you could walk side by side
