it's going to destroy me rewatching riverdale but it'll be worth it just to see my precious bhva as couples again ahhhhh like I accepted awhile ago they probably wouldn't be endgame though I still had slight hope but I really am thankful and grateful we had them so long because I honestly thought by s2 they would end and barchie would happen and I always knew barchie would happen but I'm so grateful I had bhva for 4/5 seasons because like I said some ships on the show didn't get that ugh I think at this point I just want a meaningful scene with them because these were important relationships and still have huge fanbases we deserve closure at least ugh I think bughead hurts the most because their my otp of the show and my #3 ship of all time but I've reached acceptance and at least we have those past seasons to go back to and enjoy with our ships and no matter how the show ends I'll always be team bugvarchie!!! I ship barchie too obviously but those are the top two I will go down with!! they've had me in a chokehold for a long time and I just love them so much it LITERALLY hurts!! idek why I'm rewatching maybe to see couple bh again lmao

I wouldn't say I'm usually a jealous person. I used to be, and some other parts still are, but I as a part am not and generally I don't think we behave in ways that would show others that we're prone to envy.
But there's this one person in our ~circles~ (IRL, so if you're reading this you're not them) who for some reason makes my heart just bubble up with hostility and jealousy. They're big into "online activism," and claim to be an activist IRL, but I've worked with them a couple of times and they're never...helpful or constructive or whatever. They take lots of pictures to post to Instagram to prove they were at The Thing and wax poetic about how Helping The Community is their calling and makes their heart sing etc etc etc. But generally they want lots of credit without the work. Another example is how they always say they'll be at planning meetings, and then every meeting some personal emergency comes up and they can't make it, only for them to finally show up once the work is all over to take pictures and brag to Facebook/Instagram/etc.
And the thing is, normally that's whatever. It's super irritating, sure, but it's not particularly unusual. But this person in particular fundraises THOUSANDS of dollars every other month or so, plus smaller fundraisers literally every week and sometimes more. I went back and checked, and they raised over $25k for overdue rent two months ago (and a bunch more times for various other rents every few months before) and they raised like $7k last week to move into a new apartment, $2k to go on vacation, etc etc etc, almost every day they post a "pls buy me an Uber to work and $ for lunch" post and consistently get them funded.
And like. It makes me so, so jealous. Because I do the work! I work my ass off! I volunteer and work side jobs and gig jobs for things I'm personally passionate about in local activism, and as much as I wish I could make that my primary job (and I'm working on it) I still need to work a full time job for my rent and living expenses. I've posted similar mutual aid posts a few times before, and I'm lucky if they get a fraction of what this person asks for (or rather, often demands! They regularly say that it's people's "duty and responsibility" to "care for their most vulnerable members" by funding them) on the regular.
I'm just like??? What's the secret??? They post posts bragging about the $500 cosplay they got and then hours later post about how they need $2k to get out of debt, which gets fully funded within days and then they're back to posting about a lavish lifestyle. I don't even want or need a lavish lifestyle! I don't need a million dollar house! I don't need a walk in closet of nice clothes! My loftiest goal needs what they manage to fundraise in like a month to be achieved!
And they're so mean about it too...like when I've gotten donations I've tried to bend over backwards to make sure they know how much of a difference it makes to me and how much I appreciate it. But they're just entitled about it. Someone pointed out that a certain ask they had could be considered fraud and they literally made a huge fuss about calling them a racist for assuming they knew more than them (which. It was fraud. Or would have been, if they'd been able to achieve it. That was an ask that was six figures at the low end so. I won't go into specifics on a public blog just in case but friends can gossip w me IDC) and it's just like...why do so many people give so much money to someone who's so rude to them. Not to mention that showing up to like, any of the events they claim to be at would make it obvious they don't actually contribute very much.

Thoughts on the “Trisha Drama”
I’m going to preface this with my previous thoughts of both sides. I didn’t know who Trisha was until after I found out about the vlog squad about a year ago. I didn’t mind her, i thought she brought out an interesting perspective to the group. Then I thought she was literally off her rocker. 
I loved the vlog squad bc I found them in a really difficult time in my life and they kept me from getting too deep into a depression. While I saw some of their mistakes, I saw the best in them all and hoped for change or at least some kind of accountability. 
This is gonna be really long and idk if anyone is even gonna read this/care lol but Im just so frustrated with a lot of the people that are into the vs. Like after really looking into everything that happened, I felt kind of ashamed to be backing the vs bc they’re doing some fucked up stuff tbh. 
So lets do a basic rundown of mistakes made. 
Mistakes in their public relationship:    -Trisha: made sexual jokes about jason’s friends, started arguments about her insecurities instead of starting a conversation.     -Jason: made sexual jokes about girl’s a decade younger than trisha (and 2 and a half decades younger than him), would complain about having to go do things trisha liked doing and would pout the whole time  (i.e. disneyland and a couple of the hamilton viewings), would egg on trishas insecurities, literally dumped her on a daily basis and call her crazy when she voiced said insecurities and then would basically get back together within an hour and practically give everyone whiplash, also talked about her weight and eating habits CONSTANTLY (fucking dick)    -David: inputted himself in their relationship, recorded their fights and encouraged their toxic behavior to both his friends and his audience
Mistakes in the “official” breakup:    -Trisha: talking about jason’s ex and kids, comparing david to ted bundy (a lil wild but tbh not that big of a deal bc no one actually believed thats what she meant but anyway), the brandon thing (we’ll come back to this)    -Jason: continuing to make jokes about fucking a 19/20 year old despite his gf saying she didn’t like it, not putting an end to David “pressuring him” to making said jokes, the brandon thing    -David: ignoring his “friend” when she said not to put something in his vlog, putting his image and career first
Mistakes after:    -Trisha: constantly going on rants about david and Jason.    -Jason: staying in contact with trisha secretly. (ill get back to this too)    -David: putting his image above all else. 
Now we’re going to get into some uncomfortable hot takes. I’m gonna get a whole lotta hate from stans but tbh idc anymore
The Brandon Thing (I’ve done some digging since her video exploding at Jeff): 
   -Brandon began a relationship with a high schooler. She was underage the first time they had sex. There’s receipts and timelines set up. I’d recommend Petty Paige’s Youtube video on it for specifics.     -Lot’s of vs fans say she only brought it up when her and Jason ended so that meant she didn’t really care, but I’d like to point out that she has stated (on more than one occasion) that she voiced her thoughts on this multiple times to the group in Private and no one cared. Y’all are always going on about how she should say whatever she has to say in private but when she does and is ignored, what then? Just a thought.     -Let’s also bring the rest of the vs up in this. How come none of them ever said anything? They’re the ones still out here tolerating him. Pretty hypocritical. I’m not gonna aim anything at the girls bc none of them have Brandon in their videos but the guys? Jeff, Jason, David, Todd and I think Scott too, have all had Brandon in at least one video. They’re out here talking shit about Trisha amongst each other but are friends with a predator? Lmao Okay, cool. 
Jason Keeping in Contact for months: 
   -This was dumb.     -As someone who has suffered from mental health issues and has been in a mental hospital and suffered from attachment AND abandonment issues, Trisha would’ve been better off had Jason ended things and kept them that way. Instead, he ended their public relationship and friendship. He kept her a secret from even his “friends” and then dragged on their “friendship” for months. For what? He should’ve just given her her things and closure and kept it pushing.     -On that, why did he keep her belongings for so long and refuse to give it back until she said something public about it? He ignored her calls and texts about her very expensive things for weeks. Then she made a video calling him out on it, and she got her stuff back.    -I’m seeing a pattern here, aren’t you?
The Jeff Thing (did some digging on him too...by digging i mean google):
   -This one makes my blood boil for several reasons. ESPECIALLY AFTER TODAYS VIDEO. It rlly put everything into perspective omg.     -The starbucks story that Trisha told was the same everywhere: ‘I saw Jeff at Starbucks and said hey. He ignored me and was such a pussy he left his order at the counter after having paid.’ His masculinity is SO FRAGILE that he twisted it into ‘I’m not gonna be fake with someone who fucked over my friend. Can’t fuck them up either tho lol’ and ‘i’m not gonna make shit easy on you, i’m gonna make them feel weird’. What a baby lmfao    -His assault joke rubbed me the wrong way. I know Jeff’s schtick is the whole “I was in jail for a few months and I was a drug dealer I’m big and scary” blah blah blah. Listen, I’ve met men that have been in jail longer (he was in for only 4 months he once said I think) and had worse upbringings than he did and HAD to do some of the shit Jeff was doing (which lemme remind yall, was on his own accord). The men that I know that have lived similar and worse lifestyles than Jeff, would never and I REPEAT NEVER, make a joke about assaulting a Woman over “fucking my friend over”, when the situation was what it was. Which was: an exposé, basically. That’s some petty shit, it’s for the birds. (Also, Todd and Jay’s jokes about the assault joke? Ain’t it. They were just as bad as Jeff’s original joke.)    -Do y’all know what Jeff’s been to jail for? He tried to assault someone that worked at a 7-Eleven after he and his dumbass friends were fucking around in the store and got yelled at and ended up assaulting a woman walking by.     -He also talked about her mental health issues. Maybe he wasn’t talking about her specifically, but it was REAL specific. He said that it was crazy that a “psychopath” that’s been in a mental hospital still had a platform on youtube. That they shouldn’t have one. Trisha made a really good point of, “some could say the same about your time in jail.” Because they could. And mental health can be managed. So can your outrageous anger issues, Jeff. This was really ignorant on his part.     -I also want to remind everyone about the time he said he didn’t understand how men could be sexually harassed. That all you had to do was say no.    -He says he likes to “make things awkward” and make everything a joke when really he’s just being ignorant and doesn’t want to get real hate when he gets inevitably called out
Trisha’s “Dirt”:
   -Trisha doesn’t know anything that the rest of us don’t. We’re just all IGNORING it. Why? Bc David’s charming and Todd and Jeff are pretty? Ridiculous. This is the last vlog squad post i’m going to make because I’m done. So the following is going to be a rundown on the “dirt” on them that made me come to the decision that I wouldn’t be supporting them anymore. I’ll also put my own thoughts and comments underneath in case y’all are curious. Staying silent about these situations is the same as complacency.     -Brandon Calvillo: Covered this but to reiterate, he dated a high schooler and slept with her/dated her knowing her age. He then lied about it in a video to cover his tracks.           *I am well aware that she was months from being 18. This doesn’t make it okay. What does a 26 year old have in common with a 17 year old? And just because this is the first girl we know about, doesn’t mean she’s the first at all or even the last.     -Durte Dom: He was accused of assault at vidcon.            *This hasn’t been confirmed. But it also hasn’t even been discussed. This girl is getting hate from vs stans and the vs have stayed silent. I can understand not wanting to show attention to people who make accusations for clout, but assault is serious and should at the Very Least be acknowledged privately or legally bc it could be considered slander. Don’t let your fans (or your friend’s fans) do your dirty work.      -Jeff Wittek: He has major anger issues. Makes jokes about assaulting women after actually having assaulted one in the past (accidentally but doesnt take away from what he did) and has made jokes about sexual harassment against men not being viable             *tbh he has a “pretty white boy complex”. Meaning he knows that he can say and do what he wants and most people will let it slide bc he’s a pretty white boy. No education needed.     -Jason Nash: Is friend’s with a predator, is quite possibly setting an awful example to his kids, namely his daughter.          *Listen. I’m a feminist, a woman should be able to decide what to do with her body after she turns 18. But being groomed and hit on by grown ass men when you’re barely legal, ain’t it. If you want to and feel ready, there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it BUT 9.9 times out of 10, that fucks a woman up in the future. One day, she is going to see her dad hitting on a 19/20 year old Tana and see that her dad’s  26 year old best friend dated a 17/18 year old and lied about specifics and might think that’s normal and how men should treat her. I won’t support that shit.
And as for all the other member’s of the vs, they either don’t care enough about what their friends or friends’ friends are doing, or they’re not bothering to even consider it’s happening and that isn’t cool either. 
Be better. 
As for Trisha, she’s had her own faults and fuckups, no doubt about it. I’m not a big fan of her content but i FELT for her. Her name has been dragged through the mud because of this more than anything else and it doesn’t sit right with me when her only real fuckup in THIS situation was bringing the ex and kids into it the way she did. Everything else either could have been avoided or she had a right to say to the public since they put everything about the relationship out in the open as much as she did. If Jason and David had reached out and admitted their own mistakes and asked her to stop talking about them online the way she was, she probably would’ve chilled out. What happened, what they and their fans (us) have done has been nothing short of traumatizing, no doubt. The way these 30 year old boys (Jeff, Todd, Scott and Jay) are reacting to her? They’re the real joke if we’re being honest.
Note: I’d also like to say that if you do still support them and have differing views than I do, I’ll respect you and your views no matter what. Everyones entitled to their opinion and thoughts. These are just mine.

“Why do you always have to leave so early? Can't we just stay in?” (Y/N) felt him chuckle and run his hand up and down her back. Any touch from Michael could send shivers down her spine and make the hairs on the back of her neck stand.
“Wouldn't you like that?” He teased, glancing down at her. (Y/N) definitely would.
Michael saw right past her cuteness; there was always more to (Y/N) that meets the eye. On any other day, she would passively let him take care of business and see him when he got home. But today? It was what was going to skyrocket his company and make his a few millions ahead of hers, taking her world renown place in the economic ranking. He knew she would try something today, but he was prepared for whatever she had.
Michael had tried to slip out of bed, but his fiancé wouldn't go down without a fight. (Y/N) creeped her hand down to rub him through the flimsy, white Calvin Klein boxer briefs. “C'mon Daddy, play with me.” She whined needily, peppering his neck with wet kisses. Michael groaned at the touch of her hand. Immediately, he mounted (Y/N), stradding her between his legs. Michael's hand comes in contact with her throat, causing her to moan.
“Such a terrible last minute effort to stop me.” She grinned. Her grip on his forearm tighten from the arousal in choking her brought. “Such a dirty baby. You wanted to use your body to sabotage Daddy?”
“Of course not, Daddy.” (Y/N) innocently said, batting her eyelashes the best she could as she struggled under his grip.
To the naked eye, one might ask why would she not want him to surpass her, they were betrothed to get married in a few months. That one must not know the CEO to Washington Corp. as well as Michael did. He admired her mental and how much she loved her company. (Y/N) was a strong-willed, self-made woman who doesn't care. And this wasn't the first time the two found themselves in this situation. Michael had done something similar to this multiple times, but (Y/N) had the mental stability to push him away and call him out on it-- just as he was doing to her right now.
“Of course you aren't.” He taunted back, releasing his grip around her throat. She gasped for air, still squeezing on to his forearm, not wanting the coldness to invade his spot on the bed. Michael dipped his head down to kiss his lover's sweet lips, despite her attempting to catch her breath. (Y/N) didn't mind in the slightest. She wanted to linger in his presence for as long as she could before he came home with a company larger than hers. Michael stopped her from deepening the kiss any further. Knowing himself, if it lasted any longer, he wouldn't be at his meeting, he would be at home-- balls deep in his fiancé.
(Y/N) whimpered when he pulled off and the air hit her swollen lips. “You're so mean, Daddy.” She posted as he made his way to the bathroom.
“Don't be so impatient, darling. I'll be home in a few hours and when I'm back, we can pick up where we left off.” She scoffed as his “rubbing-it-in” mood radiated to her. (Y/N) grabbed her phone and began scrolling through whatever apps she had, not wanting to admit her awaiting defeat. It wasn't permanent, there wasn't another business that could step up to their companies. They had the oligopoly. What made her annoyed was that he'd come home and rub it in that he was statistically better than her (all jokes of course). In the meantime, until she could find another big investor, (Y/N) just had to suck it.
After thirty minutes, a clean cut Michael stepped out of the bathroom. “How do I look?” He asked, flattening out his blazer with his tie loosely knotted around his neck.
“A couple millions richer than me.” She deadpanned, barely looking up from her phone. Michael saw her annoyance and slightly anger with him. It made him laugh because that was him merely three months ago when (Y/N) won over the Thurman's.
He made his way to the bed and caressed her cheek. “I love you.”
“Mhm.”
Michael frowned before snatching her phone. “Acting like this won't make me stay, it'll make me late.” He teased her moping mood just as she did in the past.
“I get it.”
“Remember what you told me three months ago?” He asked, taking a seat on the red silk sheets. She rolled her eyes. No response. “'Don't be a player, if you can't handle the game.’” Michael started laughing in her face as she slapped his hand away from her face. Karma was a stupid bitch. Despite her rude behavior, Michael lovingly kisses her forehead. “I'll be home in a few hours. I love you.”
“Yeah, yeah. I love you, too. Congratulations.” (Y/N) waved her hand dismissively as he walked out. Michael smiled at her congratulations, knowing damn well he wouldn't have said it (and he didn't before). Right before he got to the elevator, he could've sworn he heard a loud crash and an 'ugh’ from their shared bedroom. “Marrying the woman of my dreams.” He said to himself with the biggest smile.
When Michael got home, it was around noon and he bore her favorite foods. He did get the investors and it would go full effect in a week or two, however, he didn't want to be all arrogant with (Y/N). He just wanted to celebrate with his lover and do whatever she wanted to do. A meaningful celebration.
“Baby?” His voice echoed around their penthouse. It looked as if she didn't touch a thing since he left. Michael set down the bag of take out and pizza on the counter and jogged over to their room to investigate (Y/N)'s whereabouts.
Upon entering the room, he's greeted with the sight of his fiancé sitting on their bed with a face mask on and a change of pajamas. “There you are, kitten.” He smiled, rushing over to her. He goes to kiss her lips (terrible idea), but she turns her head away.
“I have a mask on, stop.” (Y/N)'s voice stern, while a frown played on Michael's lips.
Michael was a whole different person when he was around (Y/N). Every employee hated his guts and many barely could last a year. Any who lasted longer desperately needed that job or internship that he offered. To say the least, he was a real dick. But all that would change when (Y/N) was in the picture. She made him feel all mushy, lovey, and one big softy (not counting what went on after hours). It was safe to say, Michael never snapped at her and if he did he would instantly regret it. So, being the soft-hearted lover boy he was, any rejection from (Y/N) made him frown in an instant.
“You're still angry?” He asked tilting his head. His icy eyes stared at her lovingly with a hint of sadness. “I didn't even rub it into you.”
“Bubby, I'm not mad. I never was.” She sighed, caressing his soft cheek. “Just annoyed is all, but now I have to push myself a little more now, right?” He nodded and hugged her waist, burying his face into her chest. Michael looked up at his fiancé. (Y/N) was a multi-billionaire and still used cheap face masks from the local drugstore.
“I know you say you aren't mad anymore, but I just want to mention that despite my company being a bit statistically better than yours, we're still the richest couple in America.” And with that, how could (Y/N) even be mad?

Thank God the day following that event was a Saturday, otherwise he'd have to shamefully face the two hearts he managed to break in one day.
Jaebum rolled around in his bed, hugging on the blankets, mumbling incoherently to himself. He felt like absolute garbage. Seeing that his alarm clock read 10:37, he slumped out of bed and dragged himself down to the bathroom. The house was empty as usual, meaning he could totally throw a party that night. If, you know, he didn't feel like dying. As he squirted some toothpaste onto his toothbrush and madly scrubbed his pearly whites, he groaned as he stared at himself in the mirror. He knew he was a good looking guy whose looks would attract mostly every gal or guy. After rinsing out his mouth, he smacked some water across the mirror and blurred the reflection of his sad-looking self. For once, he wished he was ugly. Jaebum tiredly zombie-walked his way over to the kitchen, checking the fridge for any food that possibly could've been left for him. Seeing that it was empty except for some eggs and milk, he already knew that his plans would be to go out for both lunch and dinner. Opening a cupboard, he grabbed a box of fruity cereal and dumped it into a ceramic bowl, pouring milk in after doing so. His dear cat, Nora, crawled up to his feet and rubbed herself against the skin lovingly. "At least you're here," he muttered under his breath, slurping some milk from his bowl as he made his way to the couch. He turned on the television and stared dully at the skin, allowing his pet to crawl onto his lap and rest there. Realizing that he hadn't checked his phone in a while, Jaebum reached for it since it was laying on the coffee table. He turned it on, only to be met with over a hundred missed text messages. annoyed, he unlocked his phone and saw that a particular someone added him to a chat group overnight after he fell asleep, which was the main cause of the overload of messages. He squinted at his screen while he scrolled through the messages. It took him a while to realize that those numbers were familiar to him: Jackson Wang, Park Jinyoung, and Choi Youngjae. The last message was sent a few hours ago, so he didn't bother sending anything to indicate that he read the chat. He put down his bowl of breakfast and became invested into the conversation they were having, feeling more and more uneasy. Nora jumped onto the table and quietly drank some of the milk as Jaebum's foot tapped in anxiousness. wango, 2 others [jype]: i'm muting this chat btw [wango]: bro I just want u to listen to my proposal [c.youngjae]: why do you even have my number?? His phone read 2:57 by the time he spotted Jaebum. He was standing right outside the promised cafe, scrolling through his own phone with his legs crossed. It surprised Youngjae to see that he was wearing a pair of wire-rimmed glasses and an oversized sweater, contrary to his usual attire of trendy clothes that showed off his nice build. He looked pretty hot, to be honest. Youngjae shook that thought out of his mind and approached Jaebum, acting as though he wasn't just staring at him a minute prior. "It isn't 3 yet," Youngjae said quietly, stuffing his hands into his hoodie. "I've been here for ten minutes. I just didn't want to be late," Jaebum replied with a tiny grin as if he wanted the younger's approval. Youngjae scoffed and went ahead into the building, ruining the other's plans of opening the door for him. They went up to the counter, both of them staring at the menu in a similar way. Both of their eyes twitched, cursing at Jackson mentally. "I'm glad Jinyoung decided not to come," Jaebum whispered to the other, faking a smile for the person behind the cash register. "Welcome to Cafe A, one of the first couples' cafe in this town," she smiled enthusiastically, probably a bit overwhelmed on the inside because she had two male customers coming together in her hands. Youngjae hid his face into a hand in embarrassment, and Jaebum wanted to die on the spot. "Would you like to order our monthly special 'love potions?'" she asked, pointing to the piece of paper on the counter. "No," Youngjae and Jaebum said simultaneously. Flustered because of how rude that sounded, Jaebum laughed sheepishly and shook his head. "I'll just have an iced Americano. And, Youngjae..." Youngjae squinted at the menu above them, saying, "I'll have some water." Jaebum's face abruptly switched to one of shock, nudging the younger gently with his elbow. 'Eat,' he mouthed. Youngjae grumbled, feeling like he was just scolded by his mother. "Nevermind. I'll have a melon smoothie." "Alright. that will be ₩6,500." His hand reached into his pocket to grab his wallet, but the taller Jaebum stopped him before he could go any further. Instead, he took out his own wallet and paid using a card. Youngjae squinted his eyes at the other. I bet he just wanted to show off. Stupid seniors. "Thank you. Please come to pick up your order once this starts to buzz," she said while handing over the circular device to Youngjae, who almost dropped it.To the surprise of both, she leaned forward and gestured for them to come closer. "The third floor is popular with... couples like you two," she whispered with a grin. Both boys shook their heads, trying to insist that they weren't that sort of couple. She didn't listen, only grinning happily. 'You guys are so cute!' she mouthed while making a thumbs up, leaving the two speechless as they searched for a table. "Maybe we should go to the third floor," Youngjae was heard mumbling. "But we're not a couple, unfortunately," Jaebum remarked, putting emphasis on the last word to express that he really did think it was unfortunate. "I mean, I'd be more than happy if we were, but-" "The people here are staring at us." Youngjae gestured with a subtle tilt of his chin, completely ignoring what the other had to say. It was true, though; quite a few of the other couples enjoying their food seemed to be whispering at the two. Jaebum scoffed and marched towards the staircase, Youngjae following quickly to avoid any more odd gazed from anyone there. As promised by the girl at the cash register, the third floor was filled with... ...gay. Youngjae's eyes couldn't ignore the variety(?) of couples that were there, enjoying their time together. At one table in the corner, there was someone resembling a llama sitting across from someone who appeared like a girl. He couldn't tell, that person just had long hair. At the opposite side of the room, he spotted a couple that consisted of someone narrow-eyed with bright mint hair, nodding at his partner, who had a radiant smile, while he ranted. At another table they passed by were two people who didn't stand out in particular except that they seemed to be speaking completely in Chinese. Beside their table were two rather young looking guys, the foreign-looking one teaching his partner how to say simple words in English. "I don't think there are any open tables, hyung..." Youngjae remarked with a pout after searching around the room. Jaebum nodded, thinking that they might end up having to sit outside or something. Just then, someone tapped his arm. he turned around to see two rather tall guys sitting at the table nearby, one of them looking highly emo. "Are you looking for a table? Ae can just move our stuff, there's space for you guys," the person who tapped his arm offered, his canine teeth showing as he smiled. "Oh, sure. Thank you." Once the other guys moved their belongings, Youngjae took the seat that was on the cushiony couch and Jaebum sat on the chair. "Are you guys from JYP high?" the person asked, sipping on his ice coffee. Jaebum nodded, leaning back while putting an arm over the chair in an assertive way. "We're from Pledis," he replied, making Jaebum go “Ooh.” No wonder they were wearing nice clothes and looked as though they had their hair done professionally. Although Pledis was a small school, it was a costly place to attend and its students sure did prove that. "God, I would've screamed if you guys were from SM." Almost everyone in the room quieted down when hearing that name as though it was a taboo. SM's school had the roughest teachers and classes by far, and its roughness most likely rubbed off on its students. The device Youngjae held flashed red lights out of nowhere and started buzzing, startling him. Jaebum took it from his hand and headed downstairs in order to grab their drinks. Once he was gone, the high-key emo person who hadn't said a thing leaned over to Youngjae. "Your boyfriend's hot," he said quietly. Youngjae's face flashed a bright pink. "He's not my boyfriend! I'm not dating him," he argued and pouted again. "Really? I think he likes you from the way he looks at you, though," the person sitting across said with a wiggle of his eyebrows. "What's his name?" "Im Jaebum." Someone dropped their fork in the distance as the person almost choked on his straw. "That's... him? He's Im Jaebum?" he asked, clearly as confused as Youngjae was. someone a few tables next to them whispered, “Holy shit, that was Im Jaebum?” "Yes?" Youngjae tilted his head, not understanding what all the fuss was about. "Goodness," he sighed while shaking his head. "He's a literal legend at Pledis." Youngjae's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean by that?" "How do you, his boyfriend, not know about this?" he fanned himself with his hand, accidentally hitting himself in the face. Embarrassed, he cleared his throat. "Anyway, the Pledis legend. Im Jaebum. He used to go to Pledis for his freshman year, I think. But somehow, he ended up becoming the school's first ever student to be full on expelled." Youngjae's mouth dropped when hearing this. He wasn't even sure if his best friends Jinyoung or Jackson knew about this. "One of the biggest idol companies—you know, the ones with idol groups and all that—scouted him during his freshman year, right on our campus. The story about that flew all over school and he became a living legend. Everyone wanted to his friend." "How come you didn't recognize him earlier if he's that well known?" Youngjae asked in a dazed tone, not quite able to wrap his head around all the information he just absorbed. "Are you kidding me? He used to be one of the shortest guys in the class. He had mushroom hair and wore huge glasses every day." "Okay..." Youngjae peered over to the staircase to see if was Jaebum was back or not. He wanted to hear more of the details, wishing he wouldn't be back for another five minutes. "Well, why was he expelled?" "There was this group of seniors that made fun of him a lot, and I guess he was just fed up with him," he explained with a shrug, shaking around his cup. "What did he do?" "He poisoned them." That was the point where Youngjae didn't believe the story anymore. "No, that's stupid—" "He baked them a nice batch of cookies that made them vomit the next day. They told the principal on him," the boy paused in order to snap his fingers, "and just like that, he was gone." Youngjae was speechless, only his eyes blinking as the rest of his body was frozen. He was so confused, mostly because he couldn't believe that someone who seemed genuinely kind like the 'Def Soul' person he knew would do such thing. At the staircase, he could see a glimpse of Jaebum walking up with two cups in his hands. "Are you afraid that he'll do something like that again?" the person asked. "If you are, I don't think you should be. I can tell his attitude has changed a lot since freshman year, and he's probably trying to get a fresh start." Jaebum sat back down in his seat across from the still shocked Youngjae. He waved his hand in front of him, wondering if he was even alive. "Yah, Im Jaebum!" the person smacked his arm out of nowhere. “What—ah, shit," Jaebum cursed under his breath once he realized that that person currently attended pledis, the place of his unforgettable past. "I can't believe it's actually you. hey, i'm mingyu. remember me?" Jaebum's eyes widened as though he was reminded of something unpleasant, but he played it cool and sighed. "Yes, yes, I do. What do you want?" The one sitting across from mingyu tapped his watch, indicating something about time. He nodded his head and hurriedly threw on his jacket, grabbing his things. "Sorry, I would talk more but there's something I have to do." Before he left the table, he leaned down towards Jaebum's ear and whispered softly.

Do you have any other blogs: O yah. I’ve got a few RP blogs - 3 in Battleborb fandom (but I’m thinking of deleting two cuz I’ve lost my muses for them…) - and I’m slowly working on a K’ blog atm. Then I have a small pile of hoarded URLs because I have no self-control but also might actually use some of them.
What did your last relationship teach you: That he was a Bad and slobbery kisser. 😂😂 Also maybe to like…. speak up with future partners about certain things they do (Bad and unexpected -UNWANTED - tongue kisses in that instance 👀) that I’m not comfortable with. Maybe even learning how to pluck up the courage to say: “hey. this isn’t working out; sorry” instead of letting my partner break it off for me (after cheating while we were still dating 🙄).
Religious or spiritual: Nope. Kinda wish I could believe in that stuff tho…. Might’ve made me less terrified of the thought of dying.

These days, even the most conservative and highly regulated industries are embracing LinkedIn and realizing why they should put more stock into employee advocacy.
Financial services, legal firms, even government agencies; they’ve all finally begun to accept the power of social media, and they’re incorporating it into their day-to-day operations.
Some may wonder why it took these industries so long. It doesn’t really matter why — I’m embracing that they are now, as witnessed from the number of speaking and training engagements I’ve had recently with highly regulated industries and government.
Of course, different organizations have different approaches to embracing social media. I think it’s just been a lot easier for them to focus on LinkedIn, which makes a lot of sense because LinkedIn actually is the first platform you would think of if someone says the word “business.”
What Drives Organizations to Use LinkedIn for Business?
Business flock to social media for a number of reasons:
LinkedIn and content marketing are necessary to reach and educate their target audience.
Social media can give any company the chance to build and nurture their own community.
LinkedIn provides advanced search functionality that can used to narrow down results and find exactly who or what they’re looking for.
Social media can enable them to fix customer issues in real time.
This is one of the many areas where LinkedIn shines, by the way: As an increasingly effective means of reaching their audiences – a fact recognized even by industries known for their lack of flexibility – this platform also has an important role to play in a company’s content marketing strategy.
Let’s take a look at some of the available statistics on social media use from the more traditional and conservative industries such as finance and accounting, law, and government agencies. These are industries that you wouldn’t normally associate with heavy social media use.

Furthermore, the increasingly popular school of thought is that social media platforms are actually a natural complement to these firms, due to their capability to build consumer trust and manage client relations.
This, of course, is exactly what these financial firms do, transforming their business and social media into a match made in heaven. See for instance the American Institute of CPAs, which sponsors a LinkedIn Group comprised of over 63,000 members that serves as a venue for professional discourse.
However, the full adoption of social media in finance and accounting firms is hindered by both their uncertainty with regard to how these platforms should be used and their concerns about how social media adoption might make it harder to comply with their existing regulations.
If you wish to get a head start in your organization, here are a few ways financial service providers can use social media effectively:
Respond to enquiries on social media in a timely manner.
Twitter did a study that found a direct correlation between responsiveness and willingness to spend on products and services. It showed an increase in revenue when companies were quickly responding to customer requests and complaints.
Use social media when in crisis.
Companies can use social media to manage a brand’s reputation when a crisis has occurred, websites are down, phone lines are not working so customers can feel reassured that their personal data is safe.
Use data and analytics tools and apps.
For some financial service providers, the high volumes of social media traffic can get overwhelming. It’s hard to make sense of all the data coming through without a robust tool to help you monitor the traffic. One tool that can help to cut through the noise is PwC’s Social Observatory.

Financial service providers can reach their target market by making themselves visible to the a group of influencers who are already influencing the market. For example, if you are a bank who specializes in ethical and sustainable banking, you can create a list of influencers within the community to increase brand awareness, followers, interactions, drive traffic to your blog posts and find new business opportunities.

In fact, the utilization of social media for law firms has become so commonplace that the New York State Bar Association already issued Social Media Ethics Guidelines for New York attorneys. I was even asked to speak on this exact topic for the America Bar Association, so it’s clear the legal industry is embracing the social sphere and even investing in employee advocacy and training.
While such rules may vary from state to state or country to country, it is still important to stick to a set of guidelines and best practices for the legal profession, no matter where they are located. And of course, for them to make the most out of their LinkedIn presence, it is a good idea for firms to ensure their law professionals are trained to maximize the opportunities.
A good example of a law firm that is getting social media right is Sapochnick Law Firm based in the US. They currently have close to 140k fans on Facebook and gets an average of 4 – 6 leads per day. Another attorney, Mitch Jackson has done a great job establishing himself as a thought leader through his use of social media.

A great way to build thought leadership is to share your thoughts with other people and this includes on other people’s blog posts. It’s also a great way to build relationships with people who are interested in similar content and create new business opportunities.

Social Media for Government Agencies
Even the folks in the government have seen and understood the value that social media can provide them.
Based on results and data from a recent GovTech Exchange survey among its online community, about 60% of the respondents confirmed that their respective agencies permit them to use LinkedIn during work hours.
The draw of LinkedIn for government agencies is the perception that LinkedIn is strictly all about business. I’d completely agree with that, LinkedIn is strictly professional and all business.
Thom Rubel, vice president of research at IDC Government Insights agrees with this, saying that, as opposed to LinkedIn, other social networking platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram) are specifically targeting “the consumer world,” with a distinct focus on “personal lives and personal connections” instead of just business.
This is likely the same reason why government agencies tend to be more relaxed when monitoring their employees’ activities on LinkedIn at the workplace. A combination of organization-wide policies on internet use and sufficient LinkedIn training should ensure that employees who are active on social media don’t need to be closely watched and scrutinized.

Many government economic development agencies are finding great success in outreach via LinkedIn to decision makers in companies they’d like to speak with. I recently trained two different government agencies in Canada and New Zealand on how to find, connect and start a dialogue with decision makers of companies that they’d like to see set up manufacturing plants in their region.

Employee Advocacy: The Key To Success
Employees are, in essence, the most trusted source of information in any business. Therefore, it is imperative to equip them with content to share to amplify your message to a larger audience.
And therein lies the key to successfully using LinkedIn for business: Building up and embracing employee advocacy.
What exactly is employee advocacy, though? It’s simple. Employee advocacy basically stems from the truthfulness of this single sentiment: your employees can be your best brand ambassadors. You practically have an untapped army of advocates at your disposal.
All you need to do is to equip them with training that’s aligned with your LinkedIn and content marketing plan. By enabling your employees to be more comfortable in navigating LinkedIn and sharing content, they’ll be able to maximize their presence on the social media site for your organization.

With social media platforms still considered relatively new avenues for marketing, it’s easy to see why most businesses would rather err on the side of caution. However, there’s a solution to make social media adoption easier and more effective, and that is to develop a clear set of guidelines and provide the appropriate training to your organization.

How Conservative Industries Have Embraced LinkedIn and Employee Advocacy
These days, even the most conservative and highly regulated industries are embracing LinkedIn and realizing why they should put more stock into employee advocacy.
Financial services, legal firms, even government agencies; they’ve all finally begun to accept the power of social media, and they’re incorporating it into their day-to-day operations.
Some may wonder why it took these industries so long. It doesn’t really matter why — I’m embracing that they are now, as witnessed from the number of speaking and training engagements I’ve had recently with highly regulated industries and government.
Of course, different organizations have different approaches to embracing social media. I think it’s just been a lot easier for them to focus on LinkedIn, which makes a lot of sense because LinkedIn actually is the first platform you would think of if someone says the word “business.”
What Drives Organizations to Use LinkedIn for Business?
Business flock to social media for a number of reasons:
LinkedIn and content marketing are necessary to reach and educate their target audience.
Social media can give any company the chance to build and nurture their own community.
LinkedIn provides advanced search functionality that can used to narrow down results and find exactly who or what they’re looking for.
Social media can enable them to fix customer issues in real time.
This is one of the many areas where LinkedIn shines, by the way: As an increasingly effective means of reaching their audiences – a fact recognized even by industries known for their lack of flexibility – this platform also has an important role to play in a company’s content marketing strategy.
Let’s take a look at some of the available statistics on social media use from the more traditional and conservative industries such as finance and accounting, law, and government agencies. These are industries that you wouldn’t normally associate with heavy social media use.

Social Media and Financial Services Industry
It is perhaps not so surprising that the financial services and accounting industries have been slow adopters of social media, due to their highly regulated nature.
Interestingly, studies show that as far back as six years ago, an estimated 84% of financial advisers in North America had been using social media for business purposes, a 24% increase from the number of advisers who affirmed this in 2010.
A number of factors have influenced this shift:
advancements in consumer and corporate technology;
consumers’ increased comfort with new technologies and channels; and
a more guided and predictable regulatory environment for the industry.
Furthermore, the increasingly popular school of thought is that social media platforms are actually a natural complement to these firms, due to their capability to build consumer trust and manage client relations.
This, of course, is exactly what these financial firms do, transforming their business and social media into a match made in heaven. See for instance the American Institute of CPAs, which sponsors a LinkedIn Group comprised of over 63,000 members that serves as a venue for professional discourse.
However, the full adoption of social media in finance and accounting firms is hindered by both their uncertainty with regard to how these platforms should be used and their concerns about how social media adoption might make it harder to comply with their existing regulations.
If you wish to get a head start in your organization, here are a few ways financial service providers can use social media effectively:
Respond to enquiries on social media in a timely manner.
Twitter did a study that found a direct correlation between responsiveness and willingness to spend on products and services. It showed an increase in revenue when companies were quickly responding to customer requests and complaints.
Use social media when in crisis.
Companies can use social media to manage a brand’s reputation when a crisis has occurred, websites are down, phone lines are not working so customers can feel reassured that their personal data is safe.
Use data and analytics tools and apps.
For some financial service providers, the high volumes of social media traffic can get overwhelming. It’s hard to make sense of all the data coming through without a robust tool to help you monitor the traffic. One tool that can help to cut through the noise is PwC’s Social Observatory.
It will allow you to monitor customer sentiments and identify trends that you should be observing, benchmark your performance against your competitors and identify and target influencers.
Identify influencers to reach your target market.
Financial service providers can reach their target market by making themselves visible to the a group of influencers who are already influencing the market. For example, if you are a bank who specializes in ethical and sustainable banking, you can create a list of influencers within the community to increase brand awareness, followers, interactions, drive traffic to your blog posts and find new business opportunities.

One more thing to be done (prior to making this decision) is to understand why you have to make the leap to social media from traditional ways of capturing your audience’s attention. The biggest reason…that’s where your target audience can be found.
It is important for employees of an organization to have a clear idea behind what the company’s goals are, as far as social media is concerned. This ensures alignment between their online activities and the identity you want to project for your brand.
Lastly, you must formulate a set of regulations for social media use within your company, and make sure that every employee understands the risks involved in publishing content that is not aligned with these guidelines.

You may think that attorneys and law firms don’t have time to engage in social media activities.
Objection – as a matter of fact, the results of the ABA Legal Technology Survey Report in 2016 strongly suggest that attorneys have embraced technology for growing their careers and their networks.
With around 76% of law firms maintaining an online presence and 57% of them preferring LinkedIn, social media-savvy lawyers can attest to the fact that their efforts to increase their online visibility has rewarded them with numerous benefits, including better client retainment rates and the ability to promote themselves as thought leaders.
In fact, the utilization of social media for law firms has become so commonplace that the New York State Bar Association already issued Social Media Ethics Guidelines for New York attorneys. I was even asked to speak on this exact topic for the America Bar Association, so it’s clear the legal industry is embracing the social sphere and even investing in employee advocacy and training.
While such rules may vary from state to state or country to country, it is still important to stick to a set of guidelines and best practices for the legal profession, no matter where they are located. And of course, for them to make the most out of their LinkedIn presence, it is a good idea for firms to ensure their law professionals are trained to maximize the opportunities.
A good example of a law firm that is getting social media right is Sapochnick Law Firm based in the US. They currently have close to 140k fans on Facebook and gets an average of 4 – 6 leads per day. Another attorney, Mitch Jackson has done a great job establishing himself as a thought leader through his use of social media.

Create content that is relevant and relatable.
Sapochnick Law Firm specializes in immigration law, so they blog about topics that will be beneficial for them. For example, they write about what’s new in immigration law every week, updates to application processes and publishes videos on their YouTube channel called Immigration TV, answering questions from the public.
Commenting on other blogs and leaving a signature with a link to your blog.
A great way to build thought leadership is to share your thoughts with other people and this includes on other people’s blog posts. It’s also a great way to build relationships with people who are interested in similar content and create new business opportunities.

For even the most highly regulated industries, social media adoption can be a breeze. In fact, it should be even easier for such professionals to stick to social media guidelines, given how they’re used to having strict regulations in everything they do.
It also helps to have a regulating body for your industry when it comes to social media use. If you already have one, make sure to actively participate and comply with its regulations, and to keep abreast regarding relevant updates to the way you apply social media in your craft.
Social Media for Government Agencies
Even the folks in the government have seen and understood the value that social media can provide them.
Based on results and data from a recent GovTech Exchange survey among its online community, about 60% of the respondents confirmed that their respective agencies permit them to use LinkedIn during work hours.
The draw of LinkedIn for government agencies is the perception that LinkedIn is strictly all about business. I’d completely agree with that, LinkedIn is strictly professional and all business.
Thom Rubel, vice president of research at IDC Government Insights agrees with this, saying that, as opposed to LinkedIn, other social networking platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram) are specifically targeting “the consumer world,” with a distinct focus on “personal lives and personal connections” instead of just business.
This is likely the same reason why government agencies tend to be more relaxed when monitoring their employees’ activities on LinkedIn at the workplace. A combination of organization-wide policies on internet use and sufficient LinkedIn training should ensure that employees who are active on social media don’t need to be closely watched and scrutinized.

Use for recruitment.
LinkedIn has over a half billion users and 10 million job postings. It’s become one of the most important places online to locate and assess talent. By having a LinkedIn page for your government agency, you’ll be able to communicate to potential staff, what you do and offer, provide access to the latest job postings and information on your agency key goals for products and services.
Having an agency LinkedIn Company page also provides the opportunity for staff to link themselves to it, bring more views to the page and awareness of your mandates and objectives.
Contact management and stakeholder management tool.
LinkedIn offers the possibility to lead or participate in topic groups in a way that is far more cost-effective than the usual ‘round table’ engagements they have in government agencies.  It can also be used to build business connections that otherwise would not be as easily accessible or available offline.
Source of knowledge and expertise across many professional topics.
Joining Linkedin groups is a great way to access very specialized expertise and knowledge areas surrounding government. A good example of this is the AusGoal LinkedIn group by the Australian government. It was setup to discuss open access and licensing framework for commonwealth and state governments to share relevant information from around the world.
Economic development and international business development.
Many government economic development agencies are finding great success in outreach via LinkedIn to decision makers in companies they’d like to speak with. I recently trained two different government agencies in Canada and New Zealand on how to find, connect and start a dialogue with decision makers of companies that they’d like to see set up manufacturing plants in their region.

It is never too late to learn and adapt to new technologies. I think the fact that government agencies are warming up to social media captures this perfectly.
With the right guidance and mindset, your employees don’t need to be micromanaged and scrutinized when it comes to their social media use. It helps to trust that your employees will do the right thing when it comes to social media. Through an effective employee advocacy campaign, you can achieve this and so much more.
Employee Advocacy: The Key To Success
Employees are, in essence, the most trusted source of information in any business. Therefore, it is imperative to equip them with content to share to amplify your message to a larger audience.
And therein lies the key to successfully using LinkedIn for business: Building up and embracing employee advocacy.
What exactly is employee advocacy, though? It’s simple. Employee advocacy basically stems from the truthfulness of this single sentiment: your employees can be your best brand ambassadors. You practically have an untapped army of advocates at your disposal.
All you need to do is to equip them with training that’s aligned with your LinkedIn and content marketing plan. By enabling your employees to be more comfortable in navigating LinkedIn and sharing content, they’ll be able to maximize their presence on the social media site for your organization.
A simple example is to encourage your employees to link to your Company page on their personal LinkedIn profiles. This will automatically make them followers of your page, making it easier for them to quickly share your company updates.
It’s time to understand that your colleagues and employees are your biggest potential advocates, regardless of the industry that you’re in. By having them as your supporters, you can get connected with their networks as well, thereby helping you to further grow your audience in a more natural way.
If anything, these facts underscore a need not just for full adoption of social media (or at least LinkedIn) into businesses across all industries, but also sufficient training and rules that go hand-in-hand with them. The benefits of social media platforms like LinkedIn for business communication and employee advocacy are just too great to ignore.
Concerns about compliance with established regulations are certainly valid. With social media platforms still considered relatively new avenues for marketing, it’s easy to see why most businesses would rather err on the side of caution. However, there’s a solution to make social media adoption easier and more effective, and that is to develop a clear set of guidelines and provide the appropriate training to your organization.
