Seven children's books that adults love to read
sA good children's book is one that appeals to adults. So, it will most likely be solved some serious, completely adult problem: the search for identity, the understanding of death, the fight against social stereotypes. If you read all seven books at once, the picture will be kind but sad. For a long time one lion could not understand who he was. The other did not want to be evil. One girl changed into a boy. Another ran away from home to change. Only one thing does not change: grandfathers understand more moms.
Ulf Stark. "Kooks and nerds". Samokat Publishing House, 2008
Heroine Simone is 12 years old
“ I clung to him and wanted to admit that I like him, but changed my mind - it can wait. Suddenly, in the midst of an explanation, will hiccup attack me? ”
The book was published two years ago, but this year  Swedish writer Ulf Stark came to Non-Fiction , and I was called to conduct his meeting with readers. I had to read all his works at once. Due to this circumstance, I had a favorite children's author and a favorite book - “Freaks and Bore”. About the "complex" teenage girl, her old dog, crazy mother and beloved grandfather. It’s pretty hard to retell a book if you like it. I can only say that everything ends well. Also check our new Robloxia Kid Publishing author. He is write books for games funs.
Hans Zippert, Rudi Hurzlmayer. "How to become a real lion." Samokat Publishing House, 2010
Children from 11 years
“ His father worked as a leader of the pack (although he himself preferred to call himself a technical director), and sometimes he really wanted to tear his son to death.”
The series of books about Geribert the cub begins with the fact that Dad eats the librarian. He says it is useless for a lion to read books, and then to return - one must take whatever you want by force. He teaches his son to be cruel, and Heribert doesn’t work at all - he’s a vegetarian at all. It’s hard to live a lion cub with such values, but the stories are very funny.
A.L. Konigsburg. "From the archive of Mrs. Basile E. Frankweiler, the most confused in the world."Pink Giraffe Publishing House, 2010
Heroine Emma is 12 years old
“ Comfort, warmth, bath - that's what she needs. But no less than this, she needs a secret. The secret makes a person different, not like everyone else. And not from the outside, but from the inside - this is much more important . ”
Although this book was published in Russian last year, it was written in 1967 - then you could live a whole week for $ 25, get into the Metropolitan Museum at night and go from Greenwich to New York by suburban train. Emma is 12 years old, and she plans to escape from the house where she lives with her three younger brothers. First, she was tired of being a big sister. Secondly, she was tired of ordinary life. Children's escape is not a very pleasant topic, but the book “From the Archive of Mrs. Basile ...” looks more like a detective story than a psychological study of adolescents. It has secrets.
Shel Silverstein. "Lafcadio, or the Lion, who shot back." Pink Giraffe Publishing House, 2010
Children from 4 to 8 years
“You are the best person I've ever met in this city. The most beautiful, most elegant, most kind and, apparently, the most intelligent. It must be - after thinking a little, the lion added, - you are the president of the United States . ”
Another lion is quite mature this time. Taking a gun from a hunter, he learned to shoot, hit the human world, became a star, got rich, learned to wear suits, go to restaurants and smoke cigars, and once ... went hunting. I can not understand why children like this book, but it is precisely written for those adults who are experiencing an identity crisis. That is, literally everyone.
Sven Nordkvist. "Where is my sister?" Mir Detstva Publishing House, 2010
Since birth
" He says that he wants to live in the city, on the roof of a high-rise building, near the precipice on the edge, in order to throw cones and pears at passers-by from above, that they are walking meaninglessly below, as if living in paradise."
This slightly crazy book is the most recent piece by Swedish artist Sven Nurdkvist , the author of the Petson and Findus series. The little rat searches for the missing sister and, reflecting on it, finds itself in different fictional worlds. Spoiler: upon attentive gazing on every page she is found - the missing sister.
Vova Radunsky and Vova Kristovsky. "Hip-hop dog." Korpus publishing house (AST Publishing Group holding), 2010
Since birth
"And when I go out on spring avenue in the spring morning
All Afghans and Shar Pei express me respect. "
Vladimir Radunsky is  well known to American children: he composed and drew dozens of children's books. And in Moscow, only adults know him so far. They published the book “Hip-Hop Dog” translated into Russian by Vladimir Kristovsky (leader of the Uma2rman group). You can view the pictures, but you can listen to hip-hop performed by the authors - on the disk.
Marina Aromstam "When the angels rest." Publishing house "Compass-guide", 2010
Heroine Alina is about 11 years old
“ If mom marries VG, will he - will we live all the time? And will sleep in the room where mom is? And he will be to me ... like dad? Instead of dad? Instead of dad, who lives in France and solves problems there? And that dad, does he no longer count? Or is it considered? "
Marina Aromshtam, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Chief Editor of the Preschool Education newspaper, began writing children's books. “When Angels Have a Rest” is a story about a modern girl Alina, who studies in an ordinary school (for example, Moscow), lives with her mother and grandfather and constantly reflects on the problems of the family in modern society. Terribly realistic - the teacher scolds for the “wrong” drawings and collects money to repair the class, the girlfriends parents are divorced, and the grandfather remembers how she and her grandmother were almost late in the registrar. But also magically in places.
