Since Lando Norris broke up with his then-girlfriend Luishina in 2022, no one has seen him this happy since. Of course, there have been moments where Lando walked around smiling - for example, when he won his first race in Miami or partying with friends in Ibiza. On more than one occasion, fans saw him joking and laughing until his stomach hurt with other drivers, but further down the line, everyone knew that the old Lando was gone. The one who laughed through love. The one foolishly in love, who proved it at every turn. Since his former relationship, Lando hasn't bonded with anyone - there were only rumors of fleeting romances or PR relationships. Until recently. In fact, no one knows when it took place. And since when Lando felt like a foolishly infatuated boy again.
THE FIRST TIME: Oscar Piastri When Oscar noticed changes in Lando's behavior, it was not much before the Japanese race. Or at least it wasn't so visible before. Norris was walking around smiling from ear to ear, constantly forgetting what he should do or who he should talk to about the changes in the car. No one paid much attention to it, and Oscar initially tried to ignore it as well, and winning in Miami a month later further eclipsed the spy's thoughts. After all, Lando had won his first race after so long in Formula One and so many times standing on the podium. The Mclaren drivers weren't the best of friends on the grid, but Oscar knew it wasn't because of winning the race. Or at least not just because of that.
Oscar was curious, even if he said very little about his life, the Lando case drilled him from the bottom up. And it started off small.
One morning 2 weeks after the Miami race, Lando showed up for a meeting with a goofy smile on his face. His attention was focused on everything during the strategy discussion, his mind was clearly elsewhere.
âAre you okay?â asked Oscar, poking his teammate under the table. As if awakened from his trance, Lando stopped tapping his fingers against his thigh and turned his head toward the Australian, smiling that silly grin again. âYeah, all good, mate. â he asked, tilting his head to the side. Oh, how foolishly charmed he was. âWhy do you ask?â
Oscar shrugged. âI dunno. You just seem... happier these days. What brought back that smile?â
The question hung in the air for a long moment. Lando hung his head and laughed quietly under his breath, as if he was thinking whether he wanted to say it or rather not. And that was the option he chose, keeping his new infatuation to himself.
âWell, you know, buddy, I won a race recently. A chance to celebrate, huh?â
Oscar laughed, but couldn't shake the feeling that there was something else behind that smile, and that Lando was lying right in his eyes. Something - or someone - had brought back that trademark Lando smile. But Oscar decided to let it go for now.
Meanwhile, Lando was smiling to himself. Was it really that noticeable? Could everyone now know his sweet secret?
Such questions were cluttering his mind, but he tried not to worry about them. They were quickly superseded by thoughts of [Y.N]. It was wild how fast she had slipped into his life. What had started as a chance meeting turned into hours of effortless conversation, late-night phone calls, and a connection that had somehow brought him back to life. He hadn't felt this way sinceâŚ. well, he couldn't remember the last time. And that was the point of it all.
MUPPETS: Carlos Sainz Jr Carlos had known Lando since 2019, so this year was their 5th anniversary of knowing each other. From the very beginning, the men, despite the age difference, got along great. And they soon became friends, too, supporting each other in worse and better moments. You could say they knew each other like the back of their hand, so while Lando was drifting away more and more each possible time during their conversations, the Spaniard had no more questions or thoughts. He was well aware that his younger friend's head was occupied by not something, but someone.
The sun beat down on the lush green of the golf course, the Spanish heat was unrelenting even in the early hours of the day. Carlos set up for his shot, squinting against the blinding glare, while Lando stood to the side, waiting his turn. It was a rare moment of calm before the chaos of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend, and Carlos was glad to be spending it with his best friend.
Until he saw Lando miss every time, which hadn't happened all that often before. Well, okay, Lando was worse than Carlos at golf, but to that extent?
And those constant glances at the phone, which he was so reluctant to leave in the golf cart.
âAy, muppet. What the hell is wrong with you?â rang out Carlos' voice as he hit the ball.
Of course it flew cleanly where it was supposed to fly. But what's the pleasure of playing as your friend drills a hole in the grass with his club, his other hand constantly checking his phone screen?
"Huh?" Lando snapped out of his trance. This had been happening to him more and more often lately, nay, it had been happening to him for more than three months now.
âYouâve been smiling like an idiot all day,â Carlos teased, though his tone was softer, more curious than mocking. âActually, youâve been like this for weeks like not months now. So, tell meâwho is she?â
Landoâs cheeks flushed pink, and he quickly turned his attention to the golf ball at his feet, fiddling with his club. âI donât know what youâre talking about,â he muttered, but there was a grin he couldnât quite suppress. And in fact, I don't think he wanted to get rid of it.
Carlos laughed, poking Lando playfully on the shoulder. âCome on, cabrĂłn. I know you too well and it's been a long time since you've been this happy. So who's the lucky girl? Who brought back that smile?â
Lando sighed under his breath - he knew he could trust Carlos, he was his best friend. He just liked the fact that he and [Y.N] were in a closed bubble of happiness that they had made for themselves in three months. Of course it was still fresh and nothing was certain yet, but Lando gave in. To whom as to whom, but to Carlos he already had to tell. It was drilling him from the inside.
âIt's ⌠nothing serious,â Lando finally said, shrugging his shoulders as if it was no big deal. âIt's just⌠I'm meeting someone. I'm trying to keep it discreet.â
Carlos raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. âDude, I've known you long enough to know when you're serious about someone,â he said, and his voice became softer. âAnd if she makes you smile like that, I'd say it's more than a casual.â
Lando bit his lip, trying to hide the smile that threatened to break through. The truth was that [Y.N] had quickly become the best part of his days.
âMaybe,â he admitted, finally meeting Carlos' gaze. âBut for now it's just ⌠between us, sure?
Carlos clapped Lando on the back, a broad grin on his face. âIâm happy for you, hermano. And donât worryâI wonât tell anyone. But I have to say, itâs good to see you like this again.â
They both laughed and Lando already knew he was lost. Together, with Carlos, were like the biggest gossips, so he quickly unlocked his phone, even jumping up and down with happiness, wanting to show Carlos some pictures of them together. What luck befell him when he found out that [Y.N] also loves to take pictures.
Carlos leaned closer, curious. Lando pulled out a photo from a few weeks ago - from his once-in-a-lifetime date with [Y.N]. They were sitting on a blanket in a meadow somewhere by the water, the golden sunset casting a warm glow over them. The girl's head was tilted toward him and resting on his shoulder, her eyes were crinkling with laughter, and Lando looked happier than Carlos had seen him in a long time. His hand was on the girl's shoulders, visibly embracing her closer to him.
âI want her to be the one, you know?â muttered Lando, smiling even wider when he saw the notification from her.
LUCKY CHARM: Lando's parents Lando was able to hide his fresh relationship from his friends, from his fans and from the rest of the world. But he definitely couldn't hide it from his parents and siblings. Not even a month of knowing [Y.N] had passed when he vividly talked about how much he had fallen in love and how he hoped she was the one and last woman in his life. His loved ones were damn happy to finally see the most sincere smile of his entire life on the face of this little Lando Norris.
The air around Silverstone was charged with electricity, and the energy of the home crowd gave Lando joy like no other race on the calendar. Walking through the bustling paddock, he felt lighter than he had in years. It wasn't just the thrill of racing on his own track - it was the realization that somewhere among the sea of faces there was [Y.N], watching him.
Fortunately, he managed to smuggle her into a private hospitality suite, away from prying cameras, journalists and fans. They had been seeing each other for almost four months, in truth they were not a couple, but everything was going for it. Lando wasn't the only one who was foolishly infatuated with the relationship; the girl, like him, walked around with her head in the clouds, as her university colleagues or friends seemed to notice more than once. But in her case it was easier to hide, after all, she didn't have a million eyes on her like Lando did.
When Lando entered his private area in the Mclaren garage, he immediately noticed his parents, sisters and brother, who were smiling at him from ear to ear. The entire Norris family had a close relationship with each other, so of course everyone knew about Lando's new sweetheart, whom he had been dating with for four months.
âAnd there's our smiling boy!â laughed Lando's mother, hugging her son tightly. The driver laughed under his breath, hugging his family one by one, fortunately in a place where the eyes of others did not reach and they could have a moment of peace. âI'm glad you're all here,â Lando said, stroking his younger sister Flo's hair.
âHow could we not be here?â asked Oliver, Lando's brother, laughing under his breath.
The atmosphere was great, however, everyone knew this question would come sooner than perhaps it should?
âWell, you know what, tell us where she is,â said Lando's dad, poking him lightly on the shoulder. âYou're laughing so hard, I won't believe she's not here.â
âYes! Show us finally what brought back that smile,â said his mom, echoing her husband.
Lando felt his face heat up, but he couldnât keep the grin from spreading. âYou two donât miss a thing, do you?â he said, shaking his head.
âWe just want to meet her,â his mum said softly, eyes twinkling with warmth. âWeâve heard so much about her, and if sheâs the reason our sonâs been so happy lately, weâd love to say hello.â
After a moment's thought, Lando nodded. âAll right. I'll bring her - but behave,â he said with nervous but excited energy.
Lando slipped stealthily out of the garage and headed for his room, which only he and a few Mclaren people had access to. Although it was a rather hidden place, [Y.N] did not complain. She could wait out the time until the race in peace, just as she could go out to Mclaren's garage and watch it there. Lando made her as comfortable as possible.
When the girl saw him, she raised her eyes and smiled warmly in his direction. âAre you okay?â she asked.
âYes, everything is fine,â he assured her, taking her hand in his. At the same time, he forced her to get up from the soft couch. âBut⌠there is someone who wants to meet you. My family is even dying to meet the woman of my heart.â
The girl took a deep breath and smiled. âI'd love to meet them.â
Holding hands, they returned to the hospitality. When they went inside, Lando's mother sighed quietly and immediately crossed the room to hug [Y.N]. âOh, how nice to finally meet you,â she said, and her voice was filled with sincere warmth.
âShe's beautiful,â Cisca whispered, looking at Lando. The boy only whispered a quiet âI knowâ and laughed under his breath.
Immediately the whole family greeted the girl, hugging her tightly and bestowing kind words on her, including telling her how happy they were that she was making Lando so happy again. And everything was somehow better. His parents and siblings were talking to the girl he'd had in his heart for several months, and everything was going smoothly. Lando was just standing off to the side, keeping his hand on her back and giving her a little kiss to make her feel better. But he was probably the most stressed one there.
Lando checked his watch, feeling the familiar pre-start jitters begin to overwhelm him. But today he felt a little better than usual.
âI have to go now,â he said reluctantly, turning to face the girl. His parents moved away to give them a moment of privacy.
âYou can do it, you're amazing on the track,â she purred, placing her hands on his shoulders and gently correcting his suit.
Lando merely smiled in her direction and without hesitation placed his hand on her cheek and leaned in, pressing their lips together in a quick but tender kiss. This was not how they had imagined their first kiss, but in that moment it was their best memory and the time this kiss could have happened. Lando pulled away from [Y.N], their eyes met and they both smiled at each other, giggling under their breath.
Lando checked his watch, feeling the familiar pre-race jitters starting to creep in.
âIâve got to go,â he said reluctantly, turning to her. His parents stepped back to give them a moment of privacy.
âGood luck out there,â she whispered, her eyes shining with pride. âYouâre going to do amazing.â
Lando smiled, but there was a flicker of nerves in his eyes. âI hope so. This oneâs important,â he said softly.
[Y.N] reached up, cupping his cheek with her hand. âYouâve got this, Lando. I believe in you.â
Without thinking, Lando leaned in, pressing his lips to hers in a swift, impulsive kiss. It wasnât planned, but in that moment, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. He pulled back, their eyes locking, and they both smiled.
âFor good luck,â he whispered, his voice low enough that only she could hear.
And even if he came in third place after the race, it didn't bother him much. He won something better and it was an amazing woman.
HI IBIZA: Max Fewtrell stream Max knew Lando since they were kids. Both could not imagine life without the other person, they were inseparable. Even if it didn't work out for them to be Formula One drivers by their side, it didn't change anything. They were always side by side, and as soon as Max heard about Lando's new crush, he knew this was the one. Norris had never talked so seriously and eagerly about any girl before. And Max liked to tease him about it. But at the same time, he was damn happy.
The warm glow of sunset in Ibiza paints everything with a golden sheen. Lando Norris, Max Fewtrell and their group of friends held a casual live stream at their bungalow, which they rented for the whole group of friends. This stream was definitely different from their typical ones, where they played games on two different sides of the screen, but that was good too.
Everyone was more muted than at times when they were playing and shouting at each other. However, the biggest difference could be felt in Lando. He was more subdued, gently but sincerely smiling, and his eyes shone with such happiness that you could envy him.
The stream had been going on for about an hour, and the fans didn't run out of questions. They were inundated with the same questions as always, but today they had more opportunity to answer them because they weren't stressed by the background game. Lando kept getting questions about the Championship, the races, the competition and some side silliness. Until Max caught one significant comment among thousands of others. And of course he had to ask them.
Fan comment: "Lando, what brought back that smile? It's been a long time since we've seen you so happy, and of course that's great, but what's your secret?"
Max looks at Lando with a smile and winks. "Good question," he says, leaning back in his chair. "So, man, what's been making you so happy lately?"
"Oh, you know. Life has been better lately. Beautiful weather, sunshine, we have a beach house. The break from racing is good for me too, my head isn't as busy," Lando replied, playing with his hair and smiling under his breath.
Oh how he lied, how he lied to keep his bubble of happiness calm even longer.
"Really? Gee, I guess I agree with that comment, you're somehow happier lately," said Max, glancing at Lando with a teasing look. He remembered well how Lando had talked down his relationship on the stream, but he wasn't going to do the same to him. "Or maybe you've found a hobby other than Formula One?"
"Maybe," he laughed lightly under his breath, feeling the warmth inside his body. "I guess I just got old and I'm not that rebellious 20-year-old anymore "
"Oh, it's definitely old age, you name it" Max laughed and went back to looking for interesting comments, leaving the matter of Lando's happiness. He wanted his friend to still have peace from prying eyes.
After the stream was over, everyone went their separate ways. Some decided to have a bonfire, but Lando felt he needed the solitude. He walked out to the beach, which they had right outside the gate of their cottage, and felt the cooler evening wind brush his face. He smiled under his breath when he saw [Y.N] by the shore. It wasn't a smile that the cameras could see; he reserved this one for her alone.
The girl was wearing a white loose dress that swayed gently in the wind, and her hair was tousled by the wind. It wasn't a moment before she heard him and gently turned toward him, giving him a beautiful smile. "Have you finished the stream yet?"
"It's been a while now," Lando stepped closer, feeling the sand under his feet surround him pleasantly. "I had to get away from the chaos. And the fans are getting curious, they asked what secret I have"
Girl raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Secret? What secret?"
Lando smiles mischievously and walks closer. "That I'm the happiest I've been in years." - he says in a quiet but sincere voice.
[Y.N] smiles, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight. Without another word, she steps into his arms, and Lando doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her, pulling her close. They stand there for a moment, just the two of them, the sound of the waves crashing in the background. Lando takes a deep breath and places a kiss on her hair, pulling her even closer to him. It was the peace he had needed for a long time
FIRST CHRISMTAS: [Y.N] Lando and [Y.N] had been together for almost half a year. Their lives were filled with happiness that neither of them had ever experienced before. From the first day, they understood each other like two peas in a pod, and that's how it stayed. That's why she was surprised by how happy Lando was.
The couple in love are together in the kitchen, with the countertop in front of them strewn with flour and other ingredients for making gingerbread cookies. [Y.N] is wearing one of Lando's voluminous sweaters and humming a Christmas carol, pacing next to the countertop. Lando, on the other hand, dressed in his loose Mclaren T-shirt and Christmas pajama pants, is trying to roll out the dough, but it's not going well. His hands are covered in flour and the dough keeps sticking to the rolling pin. Well, it's easier to say that his whole body is covered in flour.
"Do you need help, chef?" - asks [Y.N], leaning against the countertop and looking at him with an amused smile.
Lando raises his gaze, feigning impatience. "It's harder than it looks, sure?" - He laughs, combing his flour-dusted hair with his hand. "I thought baking was supposed to be easy."
"It's easy, you just have some manual problems," the girl laughs and moves to his side, gently taking the rolling pin from his hands. "Here, let me," she says, guiding him to the side. Their fingers brush as she takes over, a soft, tender moment.
"Sure, my baking queen," the boy laughs, looking at her with adoration.
"You could do the icing." the girl says, pointing to the already made gingerbread cookies.
Lando's eyes brighten, his smile widening. "Icing, huh? That's sounds better." He grabs a piping bag and starts filling it, but as he attempts to pipe a simple design, it all goes horribly wrong.
âLando!â she laughs, her eyes crinkling with amusement. The icing has spilled everywhere.
He looks down at his hands, dripping with icing. âWell, thatâs not what I had in mindâŚâ He shrugs sheepishly.
âYouâre adorable when you try, you know that?â She leans in and wipes a bit of icing from his cheek, her thumb brushing against his skin.
âAnd youâre just adorable,â he says, moving closer to her.
Landoâs hands quickly find their place on her waist, and his face is twisted into a genuine big smile. They both giggle, putting the matter of the cookies aside.
âWhat brought that smile again, huh?â the girl asks, touching his lips, which is also dirty with icing.
âYou,â he says simply, and his voice carries a quiet sincerity that makes her heart skip a beat. "It was always you"
For a moment, they both stand in silence, the hum of the Christmas music in the background, the quiet crackling of the small fire in the corner of the livingroom adding to the coziness of the apartment. Itâs a peaceful stillness, the kind that only exists between two people whoâve found something real.

I am literally so baffled by how so many people think the Viktor/Jayce separation in Arcane S2 was:
1. Rushed
2. Deserved, because Jayce ignored Viktorâs wishes and thatâs what Viktor was reacting to
3. A choice Viktor was making, literally at all
Letâs go through these one at a time but theyâre all related.
1. Yes itâs rushed. Thatâs because of time constraints per episode, sure, but forget that for a second. Viktor getting out of his goo cocoon and immediately leaving while still STARK NAKED is weird. Itâs very weird. Itâs meant to be a five alarm fire, red klaxons blaring, levels of really fucking WEIRD. The guy is LITERALLY NAKED he just walks out, barefoot, into the Undercity.
Itâs weird and itâs meant to seem weird and indeed, inhuman, because that is not Viktor. Those are not Viktorâs choices. That is not who Viktor is. And the fact it is so rushed is part of the warnings, and meant to show us just how much something is very very wrong.
2. Tying into Point 1, if this was a real disagreement between Jayce and Viktor as we knew them through S1, Viktor would have stopped to get some damn trousers and shoes. I know it sounds like Iâm joking but legitimately, there is no (or very little) conscious human thought going through Viktorâs head in that scene because a human being choosing to leave their partner of years over legitimate disagreements would have stopped to get fucking dressed before they left. That is not Viktor.
And to briefly launch into a defense of Jayce, he has spent literal years with Viktor doing science to address Viktorâs failing health. He knew about Viktorâs fear of dying. Theyâd both dedicated themselves to hextech in the hopes it would better peopleâs lives but the more selfish goal at the heart of that research for both of them was that it would save Viktorâs life.
Viktor only told Jayce one (1) time to destroy the hexcore and he didnât explain why at all. Jayce didnât know about the self experimentation. He didnât know about Skyeâs death because Viktor never told him.
Jayce spent years working on a cure for Viktor and in a moment of blind panic used their research to save his loved oneâs life based on what 99% of his interactions with Viktor with one (1) outlier would have told him that this is what Viktor would have wanted, which was to live, and using their research to make sure he lives has always not only been on the table, itâs literally been the main focus of their overarching research goals minus one weird and unexplained thing Viktor said once while a zillion other things were going on in Jayceâs life.
Jayce using their research to save Viktor wasnât a conscious defiance of Viktorâs wishes, itâs literally what 99.99% of Viktorâs wishes that Jayce knew about would have pointed towards. He was as far as he knew enacting Viktorâs wishes, the wishes Viktor had for years upon years. Without knowing about Sky, Viktorâs one request to destroy the hexcore was a weird and out of character request that had no explanation. It didnât hold up when compared to everything else Jayce has ever known and experienced with Viktor.
3. Whew, anyway, the bigger point is that Viktor is a Hexcore puppet at this point so it doesnât even matter if he had legitimate grievance against Jayce. Heâs not leaving because of grievances, legitimate or otherwise. Viktor would never leave Jayce like that (or while STARK NAKED).
Literally in one of the last scenes we got that gave us a glimpse of Viktorâs inner life and motivations, he told Singed that Jayce would understand and stay by his side no matter his choices or transformations.
Singed is skeptical. But Viktor WAS RIGHT. Jayce didnât even blink, didnât hesitate at all to hug him after he was transformed so drastically. But my point is: real Viktor was actively worried about losing Jayce. Real Viktor would not take off like that.
And in one last defense of Jayce, I think the reason he just lets Viktor go there is that he has always respected Viktorâs autonomy.
Jayce notes in S1 that Viktor would often disappear without warning. He never tried to control Viktorâs movements. Thatâs what makes Jayce yelling at him for going to the Undercity so shocking to both of them in S1.
Jayce is also traumatized and shell shocked himself when Viktor leaves. Heâs not prepared and he doesnât argue. He doesnât do what he probably should which is prevent Viktor from leaving (literally naked and barefoot!) because it doesnât occur to him to control Viktorâs movements but also because heâs in shock.
But he really should because again, thatâs not Viktor. Thatâs not Viktor making a conscious choice, that is another power and impulse puppeting what is left of Viktor, using his tenuous connections to his identity like his guilt over Sky and his/his + Skyâs overarching desire to help people in the Undercity.
It has nothing to do with Jayce. Jayceâs choices are not why Viktor is leaving. And the real Viktor would never leave Jayce under such abrupt and INHUMAN circumstances.
We are meant to be as alarmed and confused as Jayce was. It is a part of a pile of evidence that something is very wrong with Viktor and indeed, the Viktor we knew is not the one in charge of his actions right now. How much of him is even left in there is what remains to be seen, and if who he was can ever come back.

Save The Day : ĚĚâ Carlos Sainz
summary: your shopping trip couldn't have gotten much worse, until a stranger approaches and swoops in to save the day
âExcuse me, is everything alright? You look in need of some help.âÂ
Your eyes flickered up at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, noticing a man stood just beside you. You were walking all over the place as you tried to push your daughterâs pram, balancing your shopping bags in both of your hands, barely able to walk in a straight line as things stopped to drop out onto the floor.Â
You smiled shyly across at the man as he picked the bits that you had dropped off of the floor. Once heâd put them in a bag he took the bags from both of your hands, walking by your side. Walking immediately felt easier as you focused on pushing the pram out of the store and over to where your car was parked.Â
The man carried your bags with ease, the strength easily defined in his arms as he walked at your pace. You didnât quite know where to look as you walked, feeling his eyes watching over you.Â
âWhereâs your car?â He asked you, watching you point to your small car that was hidden by a much fancier looking vehicle, a car far too expensive for the area where you lived.Â
There was a shade of embarrassment in your cheeks as you walked, feeling slightly humiliated that you werenât able to carry your bags. Trying to balance all the weight was hard, but you were stubborn, and liked to think that you could take on the world all by yourself.Â
âIâm just here,â you told him, reaching into your bag for your keys.Â
You opened up the boot, going to take the bags, only for the man to swerve you. âAllow me,â he grinned, easily lifting the bags and placing them in the back of your car.Â
You stepped back as he did so, watching as he carefully let go of them. âThank you, you didnât have to do that for me, most people just walk straight on by.âÂ
âWell, Iâm not most people,â he told you, a wide smile on his face. âMost people are assholes, itâs human nature to help someone when you see them struggling, or in my eyes at least.âÂ
You offered him a grin as you unbuckled your daughterâs pram to start getting her into the car. âSaying thank you doesnât really feel like enough, thereâs got to be something that I can do for you.âÂ
His head shook, taking a step back and watching as you took your daughter into your arms, hearing her let go of a squirm. You hated taking her out when she was asleep, but at this point you couldnât wait to get home and forget about your struggle.Â
âSheâs beautiful,â the man whispered behind you, leaning across and tickling against her tummy, bringing a smile to her face again. âI bet your mummy and daddy feel like they won the lottery with you,â he added, only to watch your smile drop, eyes landing on the ground.Â
âI-itâs just me,â you stuttered, immediately hearing the man mumble several apologies beside you. âDonât be sorry, Iâm used to it by now. Most of the time Iâm alright, the two of us make quite the team,â you smiled, not wanting him to feel bad for you.Â
It didnât stop the man feeling guilty for making his assumptions, sensing that you found things harder than you were letting on to him.Â
As the two of you fell silent, your daughter soon began to get quite unsettled in your hold. You quickly tried to settle her, bouncing her in your arms, but as a gust of wind blew through the car park, your eyes soon darted onto the sight of her pram beginning to blow away from you.Â
âI got it!â The man shouted, running down the car park and quickly grabbing onto it.Â
âYou really are saving the day for me today, arenât you?â You smiled.Â
He looked around and found the brakes of the pram, quickly putting them on. Before you knew it, he had managed to collapse it down, placing it into the back of your car too, making sure not to squash any of your shopping.Â
âYou must have had some practice doing that before.âÂ
âNo,â he smiled back across at you, âbut I assumed it canât be too hard to figure out. Iâve not really got any experiences with babies, although Iâd like to,â he carried on, surprising himself that he suddenly decided to confess such a thing to someone that he barely knew.Â
You didnât quite know what to say as he spoke, offering him a sympathetic smile. You werenât expecting him to be so open with you, leaving you a little loss for words. You almost felt bad for standing in front of him with your daughter in your arms, as if you were showing off that you had something that he seemed to want. Â
âDoes your partner not want children?âÂ
His eyes widened at your question, unaware that you had dropped yourself in it almost as much as he had done with you only a few moments earlier, feeling bad when his head shook at you.Â
âI donât have a partner,â he told you, scratching nervously over the top of his head. âIâm going through life on my own currently, thatâs why I have so much time to help other people when theyâre in a mess.âÂ
âWell, you definitely saved me from one today.âÂ
He was glad to have been able to help you out, but now he found himself unable to take his eyes off of your daughter. There was something about him that seemed to be drawing her to him too, her eyes watching him closely every time he moved or spoke.Â
âI didnât even get the chance to introduce myself, Iâm Carlos by the way.âÂ
âIâm Y/N,â you smiled back across at him.Â
âAnd whoâs your little one?â He asked, poking your daughterâs tummy again.Â
A giggle came from her that left you both grinning. âThis is Luna,â you told him, âalthough I think you might be able to call her your biggest fan judging from the smile on her face.âÂ
âWell, I like to keep my fans happy, so do you think Luna would like to hang out again sometime?â Carlos offered, âI mean, only if thatâs something that her mummy would like to do too.âÂ
âI think she would,â you smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head, âand I donât think her mummy would mind either if she got the chance to see you again, maybe coffee sometime?âÂ
Carlos nodded in reply to your offer. âIâd love to grab a coffee with you, well, the both of you. How about I give you my number and you can let me know a time that works best for the two of you?âÂ
âYeah, that would be good,â you told him, walking across to place your daughter into her car seat so that you could take Carlosâ phone from him.Â
His smile was wide as he passed it across, âmake sure you text yourself from my phone so you have my number too. You can save my number as the guy who saved the day.âÂ
âYouâre a bit of a hero, arenât you?â You smiled.Â
âWell, I certainly try my best.âÂ

now that I got he appreciation post out of the way Iâll yap about what I loved the most about this whole scene because was a fucking masterpiece.
1. He looks fucked out and Iâm going insane. His heavy breathing was blasting through my headphones and, although that is something that usually annoys me during these scenes, it was done carefully and tastefully. It felt natural and real, not overplayed, not overkilled, but raw and perfectly genuine.
2. Anyone else devastated by the absolute adorableness of this moment? Just me? This was such a cute short thing that casts light into their relationship. Theyâre both actually very carefree people, always have been, even if Jack had a hard time coming back to his true self. This moment felt so intimate and relaxed. From trying to make the other submit, playfully and sensually, they both pause here and quickly take a breather to gauge each other and decide how is this going to happen before Jack takes the lead again. These are truly Jack and Joke.
3. Wall slamming. Itâs one of the cliches I absolutely devour. Ever since episode 1 I knew they would be the kind to do this. I knew their NC would be like this. They want each other too much, theyâre gonna take and take and take.
4. No awkward stripping. Just desperate. The moment characters strip have always felt so unnatural for me. This was done hastily and they stumble and it doesnât look pretty because it shouldnât. They have wanted each other for too long for them to wait another second in getting themselves naked. Joke is so desperate he struggles with taking Jackâs shirt off and he doesnât care nor slows down. It adds on the realness of it all.
5. More wall slamming. Dear god Iâm unwell. No further words.
6. He was stupid hot for this. They are possessed. As they should be. Thereâs tenderness and roughness at the same time in their movements and touches, casting light on the fact they love each other but are desperately hungry for each otherâs body. They never let you forget that, not once.
7. Did you hear my screams? I was not expecting that. What Iâve seen happen many times on BL NC scenes, is that there is a high contrast done in between the couple when it comes to portraying desire. Usually itâs only one of them that is more vocal or physical about it, while the other takes it and follows. Yin and War have mentioned they donât want their characters to stick to one dynamic, and it shows a lot in this whole scene. They both are perfectly capable of taking the lead, they both want to take the lead, they both want to submit. They are equals. And thatâs always gonna be that way.
The power play, the switching, the rolling in the sheets, the CONSENT, the loving looks, the gentle touches, the rough touches, the pauses, the desperation, the desire.
they did it all. not one single thing missing.
they deserve nothing less than a standing ovation.
yinwar, you did it again

Can you do a riki fic where the members give him and reader the talk but thay have already had sex
âđđĄđ đđđĽđ¤â
Idol bf! Riki x enha members x female Reader
WC: 700
Very unserious and chaotic. ( jays face kills me in this pic ^)
âSo⌠we need to talk about something important,â said Heeseung, sitting down on the long couch in the living room. The rest of the members and you sat in the other seats beside him. There was a serious and almost somber look on his face as he glanced towards Riki sitting right beside you. Riki glanced to the side before returning his gaze to the boy who sat before him on the couch. âSure⌠what is it?â he asked, his expression and voice also becoming serious.
The rest of the boys either stared at him or you, none of them saying a word. It was as if they were waiting for one person in particular to speak up and start the conversation. Finally, Jake leaned forward on his seat, his hands clasped together. âWe all need to talk to you about something serious. It's about you and y/n,â he said, his tone serious. Riki slowly nodded. âOkay, what is it?â he asked, confused about what this could be all about.
âIt's justâŚâ started Jay, pausing for a moment, âWe have all noticed that you both have been extremely close with one another lately,â he said, his eyes looking deep into Riki's. Riki shifted his gaze to you, then back to the boys. âYeah. So? Sheâs my girlfriendâ
âThatâs exactly what we need to talk about,â said Jay. âI think you know what weâre talking about.â the other members nodded along. Riki sat there, still confused for a moment before realization slowly hit him he began to connect the dots and realize what this conversation was all about and laughed out loud.
âOh⌠oh, youâre talking about âthatâ?â he said, laughing again. The tension in the room was starting to loosen as Riki knew exactly what the boys were getting at. Heeseung sighed. âYes... we are,â he said, rubbing his forehead.
âSeriously? We all need to have âthatâ talk?â Riki said, sitting back on the couch, leaning his head against the wall behind him. âCome on. Weâre both adults, you guys don't need to give us âthe talk.ââ He said, using air quotes.
Jake shook his head. âadults or not you both are still teensâ he said, his voice serious again.
Riki rolled his eyes, âPlease... Weâre 18. We know what weâre doing.â
âI donât think you do.â said Heeseung, âThatâs actually what all of this is about.â the rest of the members nodded in agreement.
Riki chuckled slightly âYou think we havenât already done âthatâ?â he asked, his tone nonchalant as ever looking over to you. âRiki you little-â you smacked his arm
The rest of the members either groaned or face palmed in a sort of disappointed but not surprised way âBro for real?â asked Jungwon, looking over at him. Riki nodded. âYup.â he said, casually leaning his arms on the back of the couch, âI told yâall there wasnât a need for âthe talkâ.â Jungwon said shaking his head âIght Iâm out but use protection please donât be more irresponsible than you already areâ
Jay and Sunghoon got up out of their seats. âUgh, I canât believe you did-â Jay said, putting his hands on his hips in a sort of âmomâ like fashion, âOh god-â said Sunghoon, he buried his face into his hands as he turned and walked out of the room. The room was left with Sunoo, Jake, Heeseung, You, and Riki sunoo was just enjoying the show laughing with Jake, and Heeseung just looked traumatized.
âJake sighed clapping his hands and standing up walking to his room âWell riks donât forget to pull outâ
âJAKE!â Heeseung yelled out plugging his ears and running away. âwe didnât need to know that!â Sunoo was leaning against the side of the couch laughing.
âYouâre all useless man,â Riki said shaking his head, Sunoo was cackling at the other member's reactions. âgod I hate you,â you said rolling your eyes at Riki
âOh come on,â he said moving his arm down to wrap around your waist and pull you closer to him.
âYou have no shame I swearâ You shook your head looking at him.
âNever said I was sorry,â he said as he pulled you closer facing him and gently kissing your lips
You sighed and kissed back, Sunoo stopped laughing and fake gagged in the corner leaving to his room.

Do u think Patrick would make fun of art of he let the m word slip infront of him.... i think he would BUT then he'd jerk off thinking about his best friend moaning mommy for the next three weeks
well yes !!
like pat and art and you are hanging out after the two of them just finished a recreational doubles match, and artâs all over you. smiling with low lids and melting into your hand on his lower back, shuddering subtly when he feels your fingers dance just under the bottom of his tee shirt and against his sweaty skin. he kinda forgets patrick is even next to him for a bit.
and so when you kiss art goodbye and give him that tender smile that he always sees above him in the bedroom, he kinda slips half-way into subspace and instinctively responds with a âbye, mommy..â
it comes out all syrupy sweet and slides right off his heavy tongue. he doesnât realize what heâs just done until patrick starts sputtering and then bursts into a fit of laughter the second youâre out of earshot..
heâs doubled over, hands on his knees, tears in his eyes, as he howls and pushes at the blondeâs shoulder.
âoh my god, you dirty little freak!â he teases between gasps of air, straightening up to look at his best friend, âyou dog!â
and yikes. maybe he made too big a deal out of it?
artâs hand is over his eyes and his bottom lip is wobbling with embarrassment as he pushes out a harsh fist and punches pat in the back, âfuck off.â
patrick can see the way his cheeks are burning pink. it makes his stomach flip faster than he can process it, and then heâs quickly done laughing at his buddyâs slip-up. now heâs completely transfixed.
oh, art..
heâs always the prettiest when heâs feeling shy.
and now the brunette knew something new about him.. something downright filthy; something that was so predictably him.
like of course artâs into that. why wouldnât he be?
so patrick clears his throat and chuckles weakly before he mumbles another teasing remark and then slinks off to his car. heâll apologize later, now he has bigger (more urgent) problems to deal with.
speeds home and shoves his hand down his shorts at every stoplight, palming himself and biting his lip when he thinks about the way the word fell so damn naturally from artâs hot mouth. he then starts to think about all of the gross, pervy things you probably make art do in your guysâ spare time.
you probably force him to hold back his orgasms until he cries. you probably slide your fingers over his tongue and force him to lick up any drool that spills out. you probably fuck him with a strap-on.. and patrick pictures the way artâs body probably jolts with every slap of your hand over his ass.
.. ohh, god yeahâŚ
patâs just barely turning the corner to his apartment before he has to pull over to the curb and slam on his breaks. he moans and curls over the steering wheel, his hand getting covered in a mess of sticky warmth as he bucks his hips into it to prolong the prickly and perfect sting of aftershock. he drinks in every moment of it. his mind torturously replaying a symphony of âmommy, mommy, mommy, mommyâ in artâs dumb, needy voice.
heâs heaving air in and out of his lungs as he comes down, and he knows heâll be thinking about today every time he wants to get off for the next, hmm, month..? year? itâs hard to say.

forgive and forget (CL16)
â° charles leclerc x reader â°
summary â dating a formula one driver meant that your boyfriend would always be busy, but what you didn't expect was for him to forget your anniversary all together.
genre â angst but gets fluffier towards the end (very short drabble, self-indulgent)
word count â 1.3k words
author's note â honestly, i really like writing angst with charles, i'm sorry dahbdhanda. i just needed a break from writing something with any sort of plot, so enjoy <3
the thunder in the background snapped me from my trance, i've been lost in thought for awhile now. the sky's dark and the day was almost ending, and here i was sitting at the dinner table, alone with food all around me.
the rain was drizzling in monaco, and it fueled the sinking hole in my chest. i knew that charles was a busy man, but i didn't expect him to forget our anniversary together.
somehow, i didn't feel sad, or disappointed. i just felt numb. it hurt of course, seeing your own boyfriend forgetting about your anniversary, something i thought that we would both celebrate together, spend the day together, or maybe just sit in the quiet of our apartment, kissing and touching and ending the day together.
but the fact of the matter was, he was a formula one driver and i couldn't keep expecting him to be there when i wanted. it was a selfish want, and somehow i needed to understand that not all anniversaries can be celebrated, and not all of them will be remembered.
a sigh escapes my lips, i've been waiting for him to come home for four hours now. maybe it was time to let up. i gently took the plates of now cold food and shuffled into the kitchen, putting them into containers to store in the fridge, not wanting them to go to waste. i had lost my appetite in the process, not even touching my own plate of food.
when i was finished putting all of the food away in the fridge, the door of our apartment jingled, charles was home.
"amour, i'm home," his voice had rung out in the apartment as he entered our shared apartment, even though i felt upset, i couldn't help but smile at him, at least he came home, right?
i was never the one to yell, to throw a fit when he forgot about something. even if it was something as important as our anniversary, i always wanted to talk it out, even when it made me upset and charles would always appreciate it, he would always talk to me lovingly even when we had our arguments.
"you missed our anniversary, love," i told him gently as i walked up to him, wrapping my arms around his middle before leaving a kiss on his cheek, his face flashed from surprise to frustration all in one go, he closed the door behind him and sighed, he was angry at himself for forgetting, i could tell. the way his brows were furrowed and his shoulders tensed.
"i-... amour, i'm sorry. things have been hectic, the car is just so shit this season and i didn't mean toâ"
i cut him off before he could ramble on about his work with a soft kiss to his lips, "it's okay, i'm not mad at you. i know how things are at work and i understand, i just feel a little hurt that you didn't call or text me at all," i explain to him and he closes his eyes before wrapping his arms around me, he held me close.
i could smell the faint scent of his cologne as we held eachother close, the domestic aspect of it all. waiting for him to come home, cooking dinner for our anniversary even though he forgot.
"how about i make it up to you?" charles asked as he opened his eyes back up, the pretty green orbs of his eyes staring lovingly into me, staring lovingly into my bare soul, "what do you want to do?"
"can you just drive me around in your noisy car?" i laugh as he smiled at my joke, all of his cars were sports cars and they were noisy by default. i had always complained about it but i could never be mad at his love for his team, "just spend the night together, driving in the dark of the night while we sit in each other's company."
charles pressed his forehead against mine, he breathed in before nodding, "i can do that for you, do you want to go now?" he left a kiss on my lips before i nodded.
it wasn't long before i was in the passenger seat and he was starting his car up, i hadn't been in this car yet. i knew that he got it as a gift for his win in austin, i had attended the race and he had excitedly told me about the car once we got home in monaco but i never got the chance to sit in it until now.
"this one is a bit noisier, amour. i apologize," charles had said when the engine rumbled to life, i had settled into the seat as he drove off into the night of monaco, his phone had connected to the bluetooth automatically and his playlist was in the background, serving good ambience in the car.
"i love spending time like this, just the two of us, not really driving to anywhere meaningful," i had spoken up, breaking the previous comfortable silence the both of us were in, charles glanced at me before humming a response, eyes back on the road shortly.
monaco was a small city, but i noticed that charles had taken a particularly familiar track, it was the monaco grand prix track, where he had won earlier this year.
"i'm sorry," another apology leaves his lips, i turn my head to look at him, he didn't have to apologize. i forgave him after he got home, but i appreciated it, "i should've paid more attention, i know how important dates are to you. i should've set a reminder."
"i told you that it's okay, i'm not holding anything against you," i tell him softly, his hand instinctively reaches out for my knee and i let him, setting my hand above his as his thumb gently caresses my knee.
the both of us had spent most of that night going in circles, going on the familiar monaco track, it was almost 3am when charles had decided to go back home. the night drive we spent together was nice, it was peaceful. i loved it.
it wasn't long after the both of us had settled into our apartment, getting ready for bed.
i had sat in my vanity, just doing skincare with charles opting to sit on the floor, his head laid on my lap as i went through the steps for my night routine, my hand periodically going down to pat his head.
"we can go for dinner tomorrow, i have nothing planned," charles mumbles, leaving a kiss on my thigh, i nod, dinner was fun, considering that today's was left untouched.
i could feel his head lift up from my thigh, so i looked down and i saw him staring up at me, with all the love in his eyes, i just smiled at him, "what's wrong love?"
"nothing, i just... i'm sorry. i feel bad. i love youâ i love us. i just can't believe that i could forget our anniversary so easily like that," charles mumbled, i pet his head again, i had told him countless of times in the car ride that i didn't hold any ill-intent against him for forgetting. his job was demanding, and something like that could've easily slipped his mind.
although i did feel hurt, he's trying to make it up to the best of his abilities now, and that's all i could ask for.
"how many times have i told you to stop apologizing?" i had told him before standing up, he did the same and the both of us made our way to the bed, snuggling up against eachother.
my head was against his chest and his face was in my hair, softly breathing in and out. i could tell he was tired but still went out to drive with me anyway.
"i love you, amour."
"i love you too charles."
"let's go to dinner tomorrow, okay? i'll make it up to you," charles pressed a gentle kiss onto my forehead and i could only hum back in return, i had my eyes closed and i was close to drifting off to sleep considering it was nearing 4 am at this point.
"okay, goodnight. sleep well."
"goodnight to you too mon amour."

đđđđ & đđđđđđ @multipleoccupancy
"I understand," replied Violet as casually as she could, well aware that she had no parents he could call in this timeline. Would there even be any information about her "parents" in her file? It all depended on the Horned One, and how generous He was feeling, she supposed.
But she knew it didn't matter, because she doubted Agent Davidson would actually try to call her parents. Something about the way he had said those words, 'it might take a while', or the fact that he had winked at Theo and not her. If he had no moral qualms about sending a teenager to the ward even though he was innocent, he wouldn't have any about leaving her here either.
Violet could only hope that, when night would come, the Horned One would send her back to her timeline. She didn't have anything left to do here, after all. Whatever He had planned when sending her to this place, surely she had done it... right? Theo was leaving the ward and the monster was dead.
So, she turned to Theo with a smile, happy that he seemed so happy. "I guess we did it, yes," she confirmed warmly, "we'll get to work together and fight monsters, just like we said." It was bittersweet. Violet would have liked it, fighting monsters with Theo. But it was impossible. She didn't belong here, and she really wanted to come home. Would he be disappointed, when she'd never join Delta Green with him? Or was he going to forget her? That made her very sad, but maybe it was for the best.
"I think I'll hug my dad," she replied sincerely, her eyes welling up, "I miss him a lot. What about you?"
Theo looked between them as the Inspector asked his questions, his own head spinning with what he had just done, while he had been smiling it did fade as the conditions of the deal sank in. He could never step out of line or he would be put back in the ward? He supposed that made sense, right? He just had to follow the rules is all, it couldn't be that hard.
His smile returned when Mauve revealed that she wanted to work for the organisation too, believing they would be leaving and working together from then on, like they had planned. At least they would be in it all together and despite the conditions around his own deal, which he noticed were not being repeated for Mauve but he wondered if it had just meant the same applied to her too, he trusted her to have his back.
"Very good," the Inspector said, still not offering her his hand, he was still unsure of her and who she was. "We'll have to contact your parents to come and pick you up from Texas, you understand that might take a while." He pointed out casually and then stood up. "I have to go and make a call and get your parents here too," he looked to Theo, winked and then walked out. Of course there were still only landlines around at the time so his call was going to be made outside of the ward.
Theo turned to Mauve. "I guess we did it then," he smiled but it was faltering, he didn't understand why he had to be in the ward if the officer arresting him knew about the monsters. "We're getting out of here, to go and fight monsters together. You can build your traps and everything." Maybe he shouldn't talk about that? Something didn't feel right but the idea of getting out was enough of a comfort to him. "What's the first thing you're going to do when you're out?"

Death Grips - R.C
Dark!Frat!Rafe Cameron x f!reader
Warnings: Dv( physical abuse),NONCON, Mentions of Dv, Cheating, mentions of cheating, abusive relationship, gaslighting, manipulation, frat!rafe, blackmail, emotional abuse, underage drinking, heâs an asshole guys
Summary: inspired by âdeath gripsâ by Etta Marcus/ After a messy break up with Rafe Cameron your freshman year of college, he canât seem to leave you alone. Whether youâre awake or asleep
A/n: hey guys I havenât wrote in so long but I had this idea in my head for so longgg, hope you enjoy cause this is a series!!<3
Part: I
âŚâŚ
It had been four months since you broke up with him, yet he still haunted every aspect of your life through your dreams. You were beyond tired of waking every morning with a pounding heart and a bed drenched in cold sweat from memories plaguing your mind. You always thought the most challenging part of a breakup would be the actual breakup, but it wasn't; no matter how hard you tried, you knew you would never forget the heartache Rafe put you through, and you had come to peace with that, what you weren't prepared for was his looming presence in your life even though he wasn't even physically present, that was the hardest part.
âYou all packed up?â your mom asked, snapping you out of thought as she peeked through the crack of your door, only her eyes showing.
You had been so lost in thought that you had almost forgotten you were supposed to be finished packing up for school by now.
âYeah...â you nodded as you quickly bagged up some remaining things that had sat on your bed.
âWell, almost,â you chuckled as your mom entered your room, folding up clothes to help you finish.
âListen,â she said softly, placing a warm hand on your shoulder. âI know you're really stressed about going back. "
You sighed as she spoke. Part of you felt guilty for the way things went last semester. You always tried not to blame yourself, but you couldn't help but feel like you put yourself in the situation, so it was your fault.
âBut this year is going to be better, okay?â You simply nodded in response as she brought you in for a hug. âFreshman years like a trial run.â she giggled warmly.
You had never been in a serious relationship before Rafe. The two of you had started dating at the beginning of your freshman year.bYou met him in your psych class, which you had been failing horribly. It's not like you were stupid. You could easily understand the material if you tried, but you were lazy and didn't feel like it. You had to guess Rafe was failing too, because when your professor partnered the two of you up for your big midterm, which was 30 percent of your grade, you got 72 percent.
Although getting 72 percent wasn't exactly a grade to be proud of, it was enough to pass, and it seemed like a victory at the time. Rafe had this way of making even the most minor victories feel significant, and it was then that you started to see him in a different light. After the project, you both started spending more time together, studying, hanging out, and gradually, what began as a partnership for class grew into something more.
Your relationship with Rafe had always been complicated, to say the least. He was a junior, part of a frat, and you were just a freshman with like two friends, and everyone knew Rafe. So when you started dating it was cool that everyone started to know you.
Rafe was the worst, something you only fully recognized in hindsight. At first, his attentiveness felt like care, and it was easy for you to fall into his traps because you had never been with anyone else. but it quickly morphed into control. He picked who you could hang out with, what you could wear, and even how you spent your free time. You knew you didnât like that but it was your norm.
Arguments between the two of you were frequent and intense, His yelling at you to âget away from himâ turned into full-fledged pushes across the room. What started as him grabbing your wrist a little roughly turned into him using that exact grip to drag you across the cold floor as you kicked your feet, trying to get away. It was a classic case of an abusive relationship. Ignoring the red flags till they hit you in the face. Literally. The breaking point was when you caught him cheating on you mid-fuck.
It was devastating, not just because of the betrayal, but because it forced you to confront the reality of your relationship with Rafe. The breakup that followed was messy and painful, with Rafe oscillating between begging for forgiveness and blaming you for his actions. Not only were you heartbroken, but the stress of your relationship caused you to fail most of your classes, forcing you to have to retake them the whole summer.
So yeah, you were stressed to go back to school, not even stressed; you were terrified; after you and Rafe broke up at the end of last semester, you didn't leave your dorm for anything other than class, so you really didn't have to see him or interact with him. This year, you couldn't do that; the self-isolation would only worsen things and make you more depressed; you wanted to have experiences, go to parties, and hang out with your friends. The only thing was Rafe was a horrible boyfriend, so he had to be an even worse ex. Even though you wished and hoped that the two of you could just ignore each other and stay cordial, you knew Rafe better than that.
-----------
You sat in your dorm, headphones on, blasting music as you focused on finishing your English paper. Looking up, you glanced at your roommate Mia, waving you down and clearly trying her best to get your attention. Slightly giggling at her efforts, you paused your music, sliding the headphones off your ears.
âOh my god, finally!â she mocked, sighing before sitting on the foot of her bed with a playful smirk.
âI've been trying to get your attention for 20 minutes!â the curly-haired girl exaggerated as she threw her head back.
âOh, please! I haven't even been working on this for 20 minutes!â you bantered back, throwing your pillows at her.
âYeah, right, like I believe that. Everybody knows that all you do is work all day.â Mia giggles playfully, throwing the pillow back at you.
She wasn't wrong. You had told yourself that this semester would be different; you would go out, make friends, and party, yet you were still glued to your dorm a month into it. You tried to push yourself; you really did, but the constant dreams about Rafe didn't help you feel better about potentially running into him.
âThat's not true..â you awkwardly laugh as you nervously scratch your neck.
âYes, it is,â the brunette slowly says, looking around as if missing something.
âNo, it's-â you try to get out before being cut off.
âThen prove it.â Mia cuts you off, standing off her bed to walk over to you. âZetaâs throwing tonight, and I don't wanna go alone.â
When Mia mentioned Zeta,Aka Rafes frat, your heart sank, but you tried to stay calm. The last thing you wanted was to end up at a party where he would almost certainly be, but Mia had no idea how bad things had gotten between you. She knew you and Rafe ended on bad terms, but she didnât know the full extent of what youâd been through.
"Zeta?" you repeated, trying to mask your anxiety. "Why do you want to go there?"
Mia gave you a knowing smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Because Topper's been trying to get with me for weeks now, and he invited me tonight.â
Your stomach churned at the mention of Topper. He and Rafe were close, practically best friends, which meant Rafe would definitely be at the party. The idea of seeing him again, especially in a place that held so many bad memories, made you feel sick. But Mia had no idea how deep your anxiety ran, and to her, this was just about a fun night out and a cute guy.
"Mia, you know Rafeâs going to be there," you said carefully. "I just⌠I donât know if Iâm ready for that."
Miaâs face softened, and she shifted, leaning forward. "I know things didnât end well, but you canât let him keep you from living your life, right? You deserve to have fun, meet new people, and not let some jerk control how you feel."
You bit your lip, staring at the floor. She was right, in a way. You couldnât hide forever. But the thought of being in the same room as Rafe, of possibly having to interact with him, made your chest tighten with fear. Mia had no idea just how bad things had been between the two of you. To her, Rafe was just a messy breakup, not a nightmare that still haunted your every step.
"I know, itâs justâŚ" you trailed off, unsure of how to explain the weight of it all without giving too much away.
"Look, if it gets weird or if you feel uncomfortable, weâll leave. I promise. But maybe this is your chance to show him that youâve moved on, that he doesnât have power over you anymore."
Her words hit you, and for a moment, you considered it. Maybe going to the party was a chance to reclaim something, to face Rafe without fear, and show himâand yourselfâthat he no longer had a hold on you. But a part of you still hesitated, the fear gnawing at your resolve.
"Okay," you said after a long pause, your voice barely above a whisper. "Iâll go. But if things get too much, we leave, no questions asked."
Miaâs face lit up, and she pulled you into a hug. "Yes! Donât worry, weâll have fun. Weâll stick together, and itâll be fine. I promise.â
You forced a smile, trying to ignore the knot in your stomach as Mia rushed over to her closet to pick out outfits. You hoped she was right, that tonight could be a fresh start, but deep down, you couldnât shake the feeling that being so close to Rafe again would stir up things you werenât ready to confront.
--------------
The bass from the music thudded through the ground as you and Mia walked up to the Zeta house. Even from outside, you could hear the chaotic hum of voices and laughter mixed with the pounding beat of whatever random early 2000s white boy song was blasting through the speakers. Your nerves tightened with every step, and you had to remind yourself to breathe.
Mia seemed unfazed, practically glowing with excitement. She gave you a quick, encouraging smile as she adjusted her skirt. âOkay, weâre just going to have fun, remember? Topperâs probably already inside, and we donât have to stay long if it gets too crazy.â
You nodded, though your heart was racing faster than youâd like to admit.
The front door was wide open, people streaming in and out like they were at some exclusive club. Mia grabbed your hand, pulling you inside with a grin.
The moment you stepped through the door, the atmosphere swallowed you. The smell of beer and sweat mixed with the sharp scent of alcohol. The dim blue lights illuminated the crowd of bodies packed together. It was overwhelming, and for a second, you considered turning around and leaving before anyone noticed you were there.
You thought you pregamed good, but apparently not good enough. The minute you looked around, you felt too sober to be there. Mia was already scanning the room, probably looking for Topper, as you tried your hardest not to scan the room and end up making any unnecessary eye contact with you-know-who.
âOh, he's right there,â Mia yells over the loud music, reaching for your hand.
You tried your best to down the alcohol from the water bottle you and Mia had brought, the bitter taste burning your throat as she pulled you toward Topper. You knew the only way you'd make it through the night was if you drunk enough. Topper knew you, and you knew himâand you were almost sure heâd mention your presence to Rafe if he hadnât already. This whole situation felt like a setup, a trap youâd willingly walked into.
When you finally reached Topper, you stood awkwardly behind Mia as she and Topper made small talk. You tried your hardest not to look at him; even though he wasn't Rafe, he was still a huge reminder of him, but every time you found yourself accidentally looking at him, he was already looking at you. You found it very strange, even looking at Mia a few times to see if she noticed. It sent a shiver down your spine; you already felt anxious about being here, but how he looked at you made it seem like he knew something you didn't.
Not long after Mia had been chatting with Topper, she turned toward you drunkenly with a big, mischievous smirk.
"Hey," she slurred slightly, leaning in close to you as if sharing a secret. âTopper wants to show me his room upstairs. You cool waiting for me here?" Her voice was filled with a mix of giddiness and anticipation.
Your stomach dropped a little, but you forced a smile, trying not to let your anxiety show. The last thing you wanted was to be left alone in a place like this, especially with the looming threat of Rafe showing up at any moment. But Mia was your friend, and she deserved to have fun.
âYeah, sure,â you said, your voice sounding steadier than you felt. âIâll just hang out on the couch or something.â
Miaâs grin widened, and she gave you a quick, sloppy hug. âYouâre the best! I wonât be long, I swear.â
Before you could respond, she grabbed Topperâs hand and dragged him toward the stairs. You watched them disappear into the crowd, your pulse quickening as you realized you were alone in a house full of people you didnât want to see.
You looked around, searching for a spot to sit. The couch in the corner seemed the safest option, so you headed that way, trying to ignore the unease creeping up your spine. Sitting down, you took another swig from your water bottle, hoping the alcohol would kick in soon and numb the nerves threatening to take over.
And it did; about 20 minutes later, you felt on top of the world. You had made it off your spot on the couch, made a whole new group of friends for the night, and started dancing like no one was watching, but someone was, and you started to feel it. The party's energy had begun to lift your spirits, and you felt freer than you had in a long time.
But then, in a split second, that sense of freedom evaporated.
It was as if you could sense him before you even saw him. That familiar tension gripped you as your eyes instinctively scanned the room, and there he wasâRafe, leaning casually against the far wall. His eyes were already on you, a predatory gleam in them, and your heart sank. You wanted to leave immediately. You looked down at your phone, immediately texting Mia that the two of you had to go. Your new friends even looked at you, concerned at the change in your demeanor, asking you what was wrong, and in your drunken state, you told them.
âMy fucking ex is here, and he's staring at me!â you stressed to the group of girls over the blaring music.
âGirl, that's amazing! This is your chance to make him jealous!â one of the girls slurs with a glowing smile as she takes your hand. her comment earning nods and smiles of agreement from the rest of the group.
âNo, you don't get it. Heâs like crazy!â you whined as you looked down at your phone, waiting for a response from Mia. âand my roommate hooking up with his best friend.â
Sure, if Rafe was a regular ex, you would see him at a party and maybe be happy for a petty chance of revenge, but he wasn't a regular ex. You didn't even wanna interact with him yet intentionally piss him off, but you obviously couldn't just leave your friend, so you had to just try your best to ignore him, and you tried, but he made it pretty fucking hard.
He wasnât alone. Surrounded by his friends, Rafe looked every bit the confident, cocky guy you had once fallen for, except now, that same confidence felt menacing. The smile tugging at his lips was more of a smirk that sent a chill down your spine.
He knew you had noticed him.
And as soon as he caught your eye, he kicked his act into high gear.
Rafe started laughing louder, nudging the guys around him like he was the life of the party. Every gesture felt exaggerated, every movement too calculated. He wanted to make sure you saw him and felt his presence as much as possible.
You scoffed and rolled your eyes at that. It was sad that he was acting like this. I mean, how immature was he. You didnât want to give him the satisfaction of knowing how much seeing him affected you, so you turned away, trying to refocus on dancing and getting back into the moment. But it was too late. The room felt smaller and more claustrophobic, and no matter how much you tried to immerse yourself in the music again, you could still feel his eyes on you.
And unable to resist, you glanced back.
Rafe had taken it a step further now. One of the girls nearby had found her way beside him, blonde, tall, and obviously intoxicated. She pressed herself against him, laughing as she draped her arms around his neck. Rafe barely acknowledged her, his attention still fixed on you. It was deliberate.
Your stomach churned.
And then, as if to solidify his little performance, Rafe pulled the girl closer, gripping her waist. The girl giggled, clearly enjoying the attention, oblivious that she was being used as a pawn in Rafeâs sick game.
You tried to look away, but the weight of his gaze held you in place.
Then, without breaking eye contact, he leaned in and kissed herâslow, deliberate, and intense. His hands roamed her body as she melted into the kiss, all while Rafe's piercing eyes remained locked on yours.
It felt like a punch to the gut. The room seemed to spin, and you suddenly felt like you couldnât breathe. He was doing it on purpose. Every touch, every movement, every second of that kiss was for you, to hurt you, to remind you of the control he used to have and still has over you.
And it was working.
âY/n, are you okay?â Your heavy eye contact with Rafe was broken as you turned around to face Mia with teary eyes. You didn't say anything, but she clearly saw what was upsetting you from a mile away.
âOh my god, he's fucking disgusting.â she gasped, looking directly at Rafe with disgust painting her face. âLet's go right now.â
On the walk back to your dorm, Mia went on and on about how what he did should confirm the breakup was the right choice and how he just did it to try and make you jealous, and you knew that. You didn't need her to tell you, but that didn't make you feel better. He had caused you enough pain, so much pain, so why was he still going? When would it be enough?
âHow was Topper?â you questioned curiously, honestly hoping selfishly that he did something that would make her never wanna see him again.
âHorrible.â she cringed, mock gagging, waiting for your reaction.
Really?â you chuckled, trying not to beam from ear to ear.
âNo, the dick was average, but he's hot,â she giggled, looking up as she reminisced on the hook-up. âBut why were you so happy?â she full-on laughed, crossing her arms over her chest
--------------
âHave you seen Rafe?â you asked around the party, looking around every corner for signs of your boyfriend.
You were supposed to go back home for the weekend for a doctor's appointment, but your doctor actually canceled the appointment, so you stayed on campus instead. You had tried to call Rafe multiple times to let him know you were still at school, but he hadn't answered. You believed it was because the two of you had gotten into a fight that morning, and Rafe was known to give the silent treatment, so you thought you might as well just find him yourself if he wanted to play that game.
You navigated through the crowds of people, your heart racing as you called out to a few acquaintances, hoping one of them had seen Rafe. He had been so distant lately, and the tension between you from earlier that morning hung like a thick fog.
âHave you seen Rafe?â you asked one of his friends, who shrugged and waved you off, lost in a conversation. You sighed, the knot in your stomach tightening. The last thing you wanted was to spend the night worrying about where he was, especially after you fought.
âMaybe heâs in the back,â another friend suggested, nodding toward a dimly lit hallway. You nodded, grateful for any lead, and made your way in that direction, your pulse quickening with every step.
As you reached the end of the hall, the music faded slightly, replaced by the muffled sound of voices. The door was somewhat cracked. You could hear muffled moaning, grunting, and clapping. You gasped, hand clamping over your mouth hard. You didn't wanna believe it, you couldn't, but there was only one way to know. Hesitating momentarily, you leaned in closer, peeking through the small crack of the door. Your heart sank as you recognized Rafeâs frame as he fucked some blonde bitch from the back, and if seeing what could be his frame didn't confirm it was him, the âfuck Rafe that feels so good.â did.
You felt as if the world around you had come to a standstill. You knew your relationship with Rafe was far from healthy. Anyone could see that, but you never expected him to do it. To betray you in such a hurtful way. Your mind started to race. Had he cheated before? Was it the whole time? Did everyone know but you? How could someone treat you like shit every single day yet be the one to cheat on you? It wasn't fair, and to be honest, you felt embarrassed.
You turned and rushed away from the door, tears welling in your eyes and blurring your vision. You needed to escape this suffocating atmosphere. As you moved back into the main party area, you tried to shake off the weight of what you had just witnessed, but it clung to you like a heavy blanket.
You stumbled into a group of your friends, busy dancing and laughing, oblivious to your turmoil. One of them, noticing your teary face, hugged you. âHey, are you okay? You look like youâve seen a ghost!â
âIâm fine,â you lied, forcing a smile that didnât reach your eyes. But deep down, you were anything but fine. You felt hollow, betrayed by someone you trusted more than anyone else.
As you moved to the crowd's edge, hoping to catch your breath, you couldnât shake the image of Rafe with that girl. How could he do this to you?
You grabbed your phone, fingers trembling as you dialed his number, your heart racing at the thought of confronting him. But it went straight to voicemail.
------
ây/n!â You woke up to Mia shaking you awake, your heart beating out of your chest, and your sheets dripping in sweat. âGod, are you ok?â she chuckled with a worried undertone.
âY-yeah... Yeah, I'm fine.â You yawned, looking at your roommate with a mixture of confusion and anxiety. That was the third time you had that dream since the party. You didn't realize how much seeing Rafe kiss that girl really affected you until you went to sleep the next day.
âWell, it's 9:30; breakfast closes in 30 minutes,â Mia informed you, staring at you, waiting for a response or some form of movement to show your getting up. âThat means let's go.â
Every time you had a nightmare, it made you lose your appetite the following day, reminding you of how you felt during that time. In fact, it made you lose the urge to do anything, and the nightmares did come more often than not. So when you made your way to the dining hall, you only planned to get a small bowl of cereal and maybe some fruit.
You and Mia sat down next to each other, opting to eat there. You had faced your fear of going to the dining hall multiple times, never seeing Rafe there, and everything went smoothly until it didn't.
âOh my god, Toppers here.â Mia gasped, eyes sparkling with excitement as she made eye contact with him and waved.
You looked up, confused as to why he was even at the dining hall when you knew his frat had better food than the campus could ever provide, let alone why he was there ten minutes left before it closed, but it clicked when you saw Rafe right behind him with an empty plate in hand. Part of you felt like they were there to antagonize you, but at the same time, you felt that thought was semi-narcassistic because why would they go through all the effort. But it was Rafe, and this was all a game to him; it was fun to him.
As Topper approached, Rafe lingered just a bit behind, his blue eyes scanning the room with that familiar cocky smirk plastered across his face.
âHey, ladies,â Topper said, his tone light and teasing. He leaned against the table, completely at ease.
âHey, Top.â Mia chirped, seemingly oblivious to the tension hanging in the air.
Rafe finally stepped forward, his casual demeanor masking the intensity beneath.
âMind if I sit?â he asked, shooting you a sideways glance.
You hesitated but finally nodded, wanting to keep the peace for Miaâs sake. âYeah, sure.â
He slid into the seat beside you, and for a moment, the conversation flowed easily. Rafe leaned back, looking relaxed as he chatted with Mia and Topper. You tried to focus on your cereal, but his presence loomed over you, reminding you of everything you wanted to forget.
âSo, whatâs everyone up to later?â Rafe asked, his gaze flickering between you and Mia. âGot any fun plans? Or is it just another boring day in paradise?â
You rolled your eyes slightly, hoping to brush off the comment. âJust studying,â you replied, trying to keep your voice light.
âLike always?â Rafe smirked, leaning closer, his tone teasing but laced with something sharper. âYou know, I thought youâd be over us by now. Seems like you still care way too much.â
The comment hit you like a punch in the gut, and honestly, it was weird to you that he even noticed you'd been glued to your dorm. It just showed you that he was still hung up on you. Your heart raced, anger bubbling to the surface. âWow, really? You think itâs about you?â you snapped, the words slipping out before you could think twice.
Rafe shrugged that infuriating smirk still plastered on his face. âI mean, itâs not like Iâm the one whoâs still depressed about it,â he replied, his tone smooth dripping with amusement at the fact he was getting to you.
âUnbelievable,â you said, standing up abruptly, the chair scraping loudly against the floor before You gathered your breakfastâcereal, fruit, and allâand headed toward the trash. You tossed it all into the bin. âEnjoy your breakfast,â you called over your shoulder, the disbelief mixed with fury driving you forward as you stormed out.

`âŚË Ö´Öś đâš
Iâve never been great with people. Sure, I can hold a conversation, crack a joke, make some friends. But thereâs always this weird distanceâlike Iâm just performing, pretending to be someone Iâm not. The truth is, Iâm not as confident as people think I am. I hate being vulnerable. But she made it easier.
I still remember the first time she reached out to me. Her message popped up on my computer late one night, while I was scrolling through my Blogspotâmy little corner of the internet where I could just⌠breathe. No one knew who I was on there. Just a girl venting about life, school, basketball, and the tangled mess that was my head.
She said sheâd been reading my posts for a while and liked them. She said she didnât have anyone else to talk to, and honestly, I didnât either. So we started messaging. At first, it was just random stuffâhomework, teachers, the usual teenage nonsense.
But soon enough, she started opening up more. Things I never expected to hear. About her family. Her stepdad. The kids at school who made her feel invisible. She told me how her mom remarried, and how everything felt off after that. I didnât know why she was sharing all this with me, someone sheâd never met, someone who was practically a stranger. But there was something about it. Something that made it feel right.
We got into the deeper stuff tooâthe insecurities, the self-doubt, the anger at things we couldnât control. And yeah, I shared my own stuff too. It wasnât the same, but it was close enough. My parents getting divorced. Moving from place to place. The pressure to be perfect all the time. I guess itâs easier when you donât have to show your face. She wasnât some random person to me anymore. She was⌠real.
She called me âher safe space.â And for some reason, I was okay with that. I think I needed her as much as she needed me, even if I couldnât admit it back then. It was like she understood me in a way no one else did.
But the thing is, I never told her who I really was. She didnât need to know I was Paige Bueckers, the basketball player everyone at school thought they knew. She didnât need know I was just a girl trying to figure out where I fit in all of this.
It was just us. She and I. We could be ourselves without pretending. And that felt⌠like a goddamn relief.
But that was the thingâshe was just an anonymous name on a screen. I didnât know who she was either. Not really. I only knew what she shared, what she let me see.
Then came that night. The night I saw her name pop up in the chat, just like always. But this time, it wasnât just her usual message. It was a question. âWhat if we could meet? Like, in real life?â Oh.
I froze. And my stomach did this weird flip.
I didnât know how to answer. I didnât even know if I wanted to. What if she was someone I knew? What if she was someone I was supposed to hate? What if⌠it was her?

Way of the heart | OP81 x Reader
pairing . . . oscar piastri x racing!engineer!reader
summary . . . After a tough race, Oscar has nothing to look forward to more than spending time with (Y/n)
request . . . kind of?
word count . . . 1.1k
warnings . . . none!
alexavia yaps . . . i really hate this one for some reason like its not the best i could do but i wanted to write something so yeah!! the person who wanted this (im sorry i forgot your user), if you want another story i will totally write it!! tysm for asking <3
Oscar slumped into the chair in the back of the team garage, still in his racing suit, the helmet beside him on the floor. Todayâs race had been brutal, everything going wrong until he finally crossed the finish line in a place he didnât even want to remember. No matter how much he tried to forget it, the disappointment still clung to him.
As the crew packed up around him, you walked over, carrying a bottle of water and a quiet look of understanding. Youâd worked with Oscar long enough to know when he needed a moment to think and when he needed someone to remind him he wasnât alone. Today, he needed the latter.
âRough day,â you said softly, offering him the bottle. He accepted it with a quick nod, cracking it open but not taking a sip.
âUnderstatement of the year,â he muttered, letting out a short, frustrated sigh. âEverything went wrong, didnât it? Every call, every turn⌠feels like I let everyone down out there.â
You didnât rush to disagree or to tell him it was all fine because you knew Oscar didn't want you to. Instead, you waited a bit, giving him the space to breathe.
âYou know, racingâs a lot like life. Sometimes itâs out of our control, even when we do everything right. We all saw you fight today,â you said gently. âOne tough race doesnât define who you are as a driver.â
He glanced up, the frustration in his eyes softening as he met your steady gaze. âThanks,â he said, managing a faint smile. âNot sure what Iâd do without you, honestly.â
You laughed lightly, leaning against the wall beside him. âLucky for you, Iâm sticking around, win or lose.â
His smile widened a little, and after a few moments of quiet, he stood up, finally letting go of some of the weight heâd carried off the track. âHey,â he said, glancing at his watch, âI know itâs late, but do you want to grab some food? Just⌠need to be somewhere thatâs not here.â
The restaurant he picked was cozy, tucked away from the noise and chaos that followed you on racing weekends. He knew youâd love it, remembering how you mentioned your love for Italian food
When you walked in, his heart skipped a beat. You wore a smile that was both warm and teasing, the one that always seemed to make everything feel a little less overwhelming.
He stood, smiling sheepishly. âHey, you look⌠great,â he said, his voice a little unsteady. The nerves of the race had melted away, replaced by a different kind of nervousness that he couldnât ignore.
You grinned, taking a seat across from him. âThanks, Piastri. Itâs nice to see you in a non-race setting for once. And I have to say, you look pretty good.â
He laughed, glancing down at his simple outfit. âI tried, yâknow, for you.â
The waiter took your orders, and as the evening went on, you two spoke about anything and everything but racing. The conversation drifted easily from favorite movies to random childhood memories. You two talked about wild stories and embarassing moments, laughing at every single thing.
But Oscarâs mind kept wandering back to you. How youâd been there every step of his career, how youâd seen him at his worst and still chose to believe in him. At one point, as you were laughing at a joke heâd told, he couldnât help but stare a little, his heart pounding in a way that felt completely different from the adrenaline of racing.
The laughter quietened down, and a comfortable silence fell between you both. Oscar looked down at his hands, trying to think of what he wanted to say. âYou know,â he began, a little quieter now, âyou mean a lot to me. More than just⌠my engineer or friend.â
You looked up, your expression softening, and he felt his courage swell just a bit. âI think I realized that today, after everything went bad on the track. Just seeing you there, not judging me, not telling me what I shouldâve done differently, just⌠being there. It made all the difference.â
You reached across the table, placing your hand over his, giving it a gentle squeeze. âIâd be there no matter what, Oscar. Youâre a brilliant driver and a good person. Bad race or not, that doesnât change.â
His cheeks flushed, a warmth spreading through him. He turned his hand to hold yours, letting the silence speak for itself. And for a moment, all the disappointment and frustration faded, replaced by a quiet joy that he hadnât expected to feel tonight.
Later, you walked together under the night sky, the cool breeze a welcome contrast to the warm evening inside. He found himself wishing the walk could last forever, just the two of you, away from the chaos of everything.
Eventually, you both settled on a bench with a view of a beautiful fountain. The sound of the water filled the quiet spaces between you, and he reached over, slipping his hand into yours again, holding it with a confidence he hadnât felt earlier.
âThis feels perfect,â you murmured, leaning against his shoulder.
âYeah,â he said softly, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head. âI wish every night could be like this.â
You let out a soft laugh, resting against him. âItâd be easier if we werenât always at a race or in different cities every other week.â
âMaybe,â he admitted, looking out at the fountain. âBut I think⌠I think itâs worth it.â
You turned to him, your gaze meeting his with a warmth that made his heart race. He took a deep breath, the words heâd been holding back finally finding their way out.
âDo you⌠maybe want to meet my family? Make it official? he asked, his voice a little uncertain but hopeful.
You raised your eyebrows, a smirk tugging at the corners of your mouth. âOscar, I think weâre already there. You didnât have to ask. And of course, I'd love to meet your family.â
He chuckled, feeling a weight lift as his heart swelled with happiness. âThen consider this official.â He leaned in, taking your lips in a kiss.
The kiss made butterflies fill your stomach, it was soft, but also made you crave more. It was something magical, like straight out of a movie. Oscar had his hands on your waist, and yours tangled in his hair. It somehow made it more intimate, more personal. You didn't want it to end.
When you finally pulled back, the smile on your face was everything Oscar ever wanted to see.
Hand in hand, you walked back to the car, and for the first time that night, Oscar felt a sense of peace, knowing that no matter what happened on the track, heâd always have you there, his biggest supporter, his steady presence.
And with you by his side, he knew he could face anything that came his way.

https://x.com/venusyearwood/status/1854732444768858540?s=46&t=NrxIrEbb07Ubj-rzdh7oCg THIS WITH JAY â im thinking softdom!jay, lots and lots of flirting and being handsy and making out, reader is on jayâs lap heâs buried in her neck leaving marks and sheâs starting to unbutton his shirt and unconsciously grinding her hips, he canât take it anymore and drags her home and breeds her all night
oh youâre speaking my languageâŚI pictured a cocktail bar for this
***
Itâs not that anyone is really paying attention to either of you in this place anyway. Jayâs got a hold on your thigh while the rest of your friends chatter amongst themselves with enough alcohol in their systems to forget their surroundings and anything but the conversation at hand.
Itâs the first time in a long time that heâs got you like thisâaway from the stress of life and the hustle of working hours. He knows far too well what it means to be preoccupied with things that donât matter and seeing you in a little black dress and those high heels you love wearing so much makes him hold onto you that much tighter.
Heâs got his thumb rubbing against the skin of your thigh the entire night but it does nothing to quell the building arousal you feel as you pulsate beside him. You donât even know if Jay is doing it on purpose but it garners a reaction out of you, and you find that youâre barely able to hold onto the cocktail glass as you listen to your friends talk and chime in every once in a while. Jayâs touch is enough to get you to a sensation that feels an awful lot like being drunk even if you arenât.
âHaving fun?â Jay whispers in your ear. You love when he leans his head down to whisper in your ear. It makes you feel like youâre the only person he sees.
âYeah. I really missed going to places like these.â
âYou look beautiful too, baby.â Jay squeezes your thigh and hums. âThat dressâŚyou look phenomenal.â
The heat from his compliment and alcohol makes your cheeks flush. You stutter when you respond to him. âThank you.â He laughs under his breath and squeezes your thigh, hand lodged between them as if to keep you sitting right next to him. Not that youâd want to be anywhere else anyway. You squeeze him with your thigh subconsciously when his warm breath ghosts the shell of your ear.
Jay seems to like that. He squeezes you back. âAre you doing okay, baby?â
You nod. âMhm. Just fine.â
âReally? You seem a little tense.â
âN-No. Not tense. Iâm fine.â
He squeezes your thigh again. âNeedy little thing.â Jay pushes his hand up your legs until you spread them far enough to seem inconspicuous. The tips of his fingers touch you where you need him the most and he bites back a moan when he feels just how wet you are. âKnew it.â
âJay! Our friends are right in front of us.â
He doesnât stop sliding his fingers against your covered folds. âAnd? Theyâre too busy paying attention to each other.â You clamp your legs shut and Jay nods, scouring the room until he finds a secluded, dark area with a partition that separates from the main room.
Jay stands up and holds his hand out for you. His muscular arm is concealed by the button down he wears and yet his muscles almost stretch the fabric until itâs taught. Your own arms cling onto his as you follow him through the maze of people and when you look back to your friends, they havenât noticed you two have gone missing.
The partition hides away a single drink tray on top of a metal table opposite of a wooden bench. Itâs secluded enough for your satisfaction and Jay turns around once the two of you are out of sight and cups your jaw with his hands when he kisses you like youâre a delicate glass he doesnât want to break. His lips are so soft and plump and the way heâs rubbing your cheeks with his thumb makes you feel something akin to being on cloud nine. It doesnât help that he looks like the pinnacle of sex once he pulls away, eyes looking down at you through his long lashes as he paces himself.
He sits down on the bench and beckons you over his lap. You donât particular care that your dress has ridden up your body and pools midway up your ass. His large hands come to grip you from behind as you make yourself comfortable on him.
âPretty baby,â he whispers in your ear as he peppers kisses down the column of your neck. The sensation makes your toes curl and you clutch at his chest for support. âI missed you this week. Felt like an eternity.â
âI-I missed you too.â You breathe it out much like a quiet moan. âMissed your lips.â
âYeah?â Jay licks up your juncture before sucking on your jawline where it meets your earlobe. âWhat else did you miss?â
Your hands spread all across his chest and the hard muscle underneath makes you much wetter than you already are. The gentle touch of your fingers against his buttons makes him look up at you from where he is on your neck. Heâs already got a few buttons undone but youâre craving to see more of him and unbutton another.
âMissed your bodyâŚâ
Jay spreads his legs wider when he starts to feel your hips rolling against his slacks. You move so slowly that he doesnât think you register what youâre doing, but the way your fingers spread open his button down makes him think you want more than heâs offering right now.
âOh yeah? What part of my body.â
âMouth, fingers, cockâŚâ
You donât look at him when you say it. You stare at his semi-exposed chest and continue to grind up against him. Heâs so hard in his pants that he involuntarily pushes his hips up against you.
âI can tell.â Jay brings his hand to brush your bottom lip with his thumb and cradles your cheek when you finally look at him. âYouâre so cute when you get needy.â
You push your covered lap down on his. âI canât help it. You look so good tonight and Iâm having a hard time keeping my hands to myself.â
âYouâre one to talk, baby.â
In an abrupt motion, Jay hoists you off of his body and pulls the hem of your dress down to appear decent and does his best to adjust his aching dick to look presentable. You whine beside him but Jay merely grips your ass as he silences to with a kiss.
âBe good for me, yeah?â
âBut I need you.â
âI need you too, baby. Let me take you home. Iâll come inside you as many times as you want.â

No One But You
Food for the @pixelcafe-network
Sylus lay in a pool of his own blood, clutching the gunshot wound you had carved into his heart, muttering about betrayal and deceit in his final moments.
You rolled your eyes.
âYesterdayâs death was a hell of a lot more creative, Sylus.â
He sat up straight, scoffing. âCanât help if the source material is unoriginal to start with. The best you could do was a gunshot wound today? Really?â
âThatâs because I wasnât trying to kill you, stupid.â
He raised an eyebrow. âAnd what do you call plowing a bullet through my chest?â
You crossed your arms. âI call that trying to shut you up. Although, I suppose that didnât work so well either, because then you prattled on about what a traitor I was and how you never saw this coming. Which, in my humble opinion, was laying it on too thick. You always see everything coming, donât act like a victim.â
He chuckled and with a snap of his fingers, any trace of his blood or his wound had vanished. âWhat can I say, I like theatrics.â
âAnd I like my bosses to be less dramatic and less alive.âÂ
He stood to meet your gaze, tsking at you as he tucked a finger under your chin. âNow, now, kitten. Weâve been having such a grand time together the last few months.â
You waved his hand away but he caught your wrist. You knew once he had you in his grasp, you werenât getting out until he chose to let you go so you stopped resisting. He smirked, pleased at your submission. Â
Sighing, you grumbled, âSy- youâve got a 1 o clock meeting and Iâve yet to thoroughly vet them, so eventually youâll have to let me go.â
He yanked you closer to him. âI highly doubt my favorite assassin would forget to vet anybody. Iâm sure you already had him in your sights long before I made the meeting, am I correct?â
You met his brazen gaze with a fierce look of your own. âI suppose now that you know all my secrets, I really will have to kill you.â
He chuckled and kissed your knuckles. âLooking forward to it.â
Asshole.
He knew that you knew you couldnât kill him if you tried, because youâd already tried. Many, many times.Â
Youâd met him months back when youâd attempted to snipe him from a rooftop. You were the best in the assassination business, but something about this cheeky bastard who had the nerve to grin into your oculars right as you pulled the trigger had you feeling like an amateur again. And when he materialized beside you right after youâd supposedly shot him, offering employment rather than retaliation, you knew he wasnât taking you seriously at all. How could the head of Onychinus allow an assassin to walk right into his headquarters, to eat and drink beside him, to sleep in the room next door, knowing he had a hefty bounty on his head that she intended to collect, and not bat an eye? He was some other beast entirely and you werenât sure how to react.
Of course it made you feel valued to know that he only entrusted his most important missions to you -heâd say something along the lines of âthereâs no one else who can do the job but youâ and youâd roll your eyes but oblige him- but he mustâve still thought you were somewhat incompetent if he willingly allowed you to take a shot at trying to kill him everyday. And then there was the matter of his obvious flirting.Â
The way he always had your favorite wine laid out for you after a mission -you werenât sure who heâd tortured for this information- or the way he always made sure to take you on missions with him that involved dressing up so he could admire your figure -not like he wasnât already admiring it on a daily basis in your usual getup- or even the way he purred his little pet names in your ear, pet names that he didnât seem to give to anyone else but you.Â
Some small part of you even wondered if maybe he loved you. But the rest of you knew that he probably didnât even know what love was. The rest of you knew that he was probably toying with you. But what was he waiting for? For you to no longer be useful? For you to fall for him? For you to give up on killing him? What did he want?Â
The man had the most beautiful eyes youâd ever seen but you would never know what was going on behind them.Â
And it killed you to admit that he was beautiful. Rule number one of assassination was to not get attached to your target, but here you were, toasting him over dinner every night, admiring the curve of his lips, admiring the broadness of his shoulders, admiring the way his fingers held a wine glass, like you hadnât spent decades training to be the monster you were known to be, like you were just some school girl hanging onto some jockâs every word.Â
He probably knew it too.
He liked to tease you; it was like his own personal form of entertainment.Â
He liked to intertwine his fingers in between yours like you hadnât just used those very same fingers to try and strangle him only moments before. He liked to tuck your hair behind your ear, pinch your sides, pin down your wrists, tilt up your chin, anything so he could touch you. He liked to murmur your name, your real name, the name you hadnât been called in years, the name you werenât sure how heâd uncovered, over and over like a prayer, until you had to excuse yourself from dinner because you werenât used to the gentleness in his voice. And then he liked to repeat the cycle over and over again, until you werenât sure how you felt anymore, until you werenât sure who you were anymore.Â
âBastard.â You muttered under your breath.
âTrying to hurt my feelings?â Sylus snaked his arms around your waist.Â
âIt was never my intention to hurt you, dear Sylus, only kill you.â You responded innocently.
He chuckled, running his fingers through your hair. âThatâs my girl.â
God, he couldnât keep saying this shit to you.
âNot your girl, Sy.â You retorted, shaking him off of you.
âAnd why not? You could be.â His eyes gleamed mischievously.
In an instant you had a knife pinned to his throat. âBecause of this. Because youâre nothing more to me than a target and Iâm nothing more to you than a toy.â
He leaned in closer to you, allowing the metal to pierce his skin, drawing blood. âWell if it makes you feel better, thereâs no one Iâd rather have kill me but you.â
You laughed at that, withdrawing your knife. âShould I feel honored? And how does one even respond to that- thereâs no one Iâd rather have toy with me but you? God, work on your lines Sylus, youâre so cliche. You have a 2 o clock meeting, so get to it.â You shoved him off of you.
Grinning, he sauntered off to his next meeting with you guarding his back like you always did. And when his 2 o clock tried to kill him, he kept that same stupid grin on his face as he watched you pin the man underneath you in a matter of seconds, cuffing his hands together so tightly they bruised.Â
âIs it appropriate to say Iâm feeling jealous right now, kitten?â He chuckled.
You scoffed. âNo, Sylus, it is not.â
âAnd what if I said thereâs no one Iâd rather have pin me down than you?â
âStill not appropriate.â
The man underneath you groaned. âIf you two are going to keep flirting or bickering or whatever this is, could you kill me already?â
You smacked his head with the butt of your gun. âShut up, weâre trying to talk here.âÂ
âFeisty. I love it when you talk like that, kitten.â Sylus ran his hand through your hair, the way he always did, admiring the way the strands felt in between his fingers.Â
âFunny, I love when you stop talking, Sy.â
The man squirmed beneath you again. âIâm serious, please just kill me already.â
âI said shut up, my god.â You tightened his cuffs.Â
But this time the man was annoyed. âHeâs toying with you, youâre toying with him, we get it already. A man like Sylus is never gonna truly love you so can you please quit flirting an ki-âÂ
You shot him in the head. âDid I not say to shut up?â
You had intended to keep him alive for information, but you had to admit his comment hit a little too close to home. You already knew Sylus was never going to love you, but was it that obvious to a random bystander? The thought pissed you off.
Sylus sighed. âAnd now Iâm going to have to get the carpet cleaners in here.â
âYou really should keep the company of quieter people.â
âAnd you should know when a man is baiting you.â
You scoffed, standing to leave. âAnd whatâs that supposed to mean? I know when Iâm being played, you do it all the time.â
âYouâre so gullible sometimes, kitten. Youâd really believe what a random hitman says?â He wrapped one arm around your waist, pulling you closer, and tucked one hand underneath your chin, drawing your gaze to him.Â
âI donât believe what anyone says.â
âYet youâd kill him for saying I could never love you? Interesting way of showing you donât believe him.â
You glared at him, anger flaring in your gut. You attempted to wrench yourself away from him but he only pulled you tighter against him. âSylus, let go already. Enough of this. Iâm tired.â You snapped.
âHavenât I already told you? Thereâs no one else for me but you.â
âSylus, quit saying shit like that.âÂ
âRight, you donât like when I talk. Well then, how about this?â In a matter of seconds, his lips had found their way to yours, molding his passion and persistence into you.Â
You bit his lip in annoyance but it only fueled him more.
He chuckled against your mouth and claimed your tongue with his. His hands rested on the small of your back, possessively holding you in place against him. After properly swallowing down your moans and devouring all your desire, he finally pulled away to allow you some breath.
âFine.â You whispered, still dizzy from his kiss.Â
He smirked, nuzzling up against your ear, as he murmured, âFine what?â
âFine. Thereâs no one else for me but you. Happy?â
âImmensely.âÂ
He kissed you again and didnât stop kissing you all night.

Saying Something Stupid
Bucky x Y/N
Sometimes things just slip outâŚ
Requests Open!
Warnings: None. Just fluff!
The soft hum of a tune filtered through the compoundâs kitchen, mingling with the gentle sizzle of something sweet in a pan.
The hour was early, most of the team still tucked away in their rooms, leaving the vast halls and polished countertops empty save for one person: Y/N. The floor was bathed in warm sunlight, casting long, golden shadows as she worked. And Bucky, who had only come down for a cold beer, paused just outside the kitchen at the sound of her voice.
She was singing softly to herself, her back to him as she swayed in time with the song. He recognized it immediatelyâa tune from the â40s that always brought a bittersweet twinge to his heart. Her voice was soft, but rich with emotion, and she sang with a quiet confidence that left him breathless.
âDon't let this parting upset you I'll not forget you, sweetheartâŚâ
Bucky swallowed hard. It had been years since heâd heard someone sing that song, and something about hearing it here, in the compound kitchen, with Y/N at the stove, made his chest feel heavy and warm.
He didnât dare move, just leaned his shoulder against the doorway, watching as she flipped something in the pan, still singing.
The lyrics carried him back to old dance halls and sun-dappled parks, to nights spent singing and dancing with friends who had been gone for longer than he cared to remember. But here, now, he felt something newâa warmth that filled in the cracks in his heart, a sense of belonging he hadnât felt in years. Y/N was here, and her voice was bringing back all the good things about his past without the shadows. She brought only light.
It wasnât until she turned, wiping her hands on a dish towel, that she saw him there. Bucky grinned sheepishly as her eyes widened in surprise.
âBucky! How long have you been standing there?â she asked, a flush coloring her cheeks. The music fell silent as she turned off the burner, setting her utensil aside to focus on him. Her voice still held that warmth, that energy, but now there was something new: a spark of embarrassment that Bucky found incredibly endearing.
He shrugged, pushing himself off the doorframe. âLong enough to enjoy the show, Doll.â
She let out a laugh, shaking her head, but Bucky could see the delight in her eyes. âYouâre ridiculous.â
âI mean it,â he said, crossing the room to stand beside her. âThat was... really somethinâ.â He paused, searching for the right words. âYouâve got a beautiful voice, Kitten. I havenât heard someone sing like that in a long time.â
Her smile softened, and she ducked her head. âItâs just a song,â she murmured, but there was a glint in her eye that told him she knew it was more.
Bucky looked at her, wondering if she knew what her singing did to him, how it lifted the shadows he often found himself lost in. She didnât know the half of it.
âNot to me,â he said, voice dropping low, almost reverent. He could see her gaze flicker, a shiver running through her as she looked at him, something unspoken passing between them.
âWell,â she started, clearing her throat, âif youâd told me you were here, I couldâve given you a proper performance.â
He chuckled, the low rumble filling the space between them. âWouldnât want to distract you while youâre cookinâ. Smells amazing, by the way.â
Her eyes lit up. âI had a craving for pancakes,â she said, a little too quickly, like she wanted to cover the silence that had grown between them. âBlueberry, to be specific. Want some?â
âWouldnât say no,â he replied, leaning back against the counter, his arms folding casually across his chest as he watched her return to the stove. She worked quickly, flipping pancakes with practiced ease, and he couldnât help but let his eyes wander over herâher face set in concentration, the way she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, the little smile she wore when she thought he wasnât looking.
It was moments like these that Bucky cherished. They didnât come often, but when they did, he held onto them, savoring every detail. She filled the spaces in his life that had once felt empty, brightening the corners of his mind that had been shrouded in darkness for so long. And in this light, he found a feeling he hadnât dared to name until now.
As she plated the pancakes and turned to him, holding out a plate with a grin, the words slipped out before he could catch them.
âThank you, darling. I love you.â
The words hung in the air, and Buckyâs heart stopped as he realized what heâd just said. He hadnât planned it, hadnât even thought it, reallyâit had just slipped out, as natural as breathing, like it was something heâd been saying for years.
Y/Nâs eyes widened, her mouth opening slightly in surprise, the plate of pancakes momentarily forgotten in her hands. There was a flicker of something in her gazeâhope, maybe, mixed with a wonder that made his stomach flip.
He cleared his throat, rubbing a hand over the back of his neck. âI, thatâŚwas stupid..uh, I didnât meanââ
âYes, you did,â she interrupted, a soft smile growing on her lips. âI can tell when you mean it, Bucky.â
The warmth in her voice, the tenderness in her eyes, made him feel as if his heart might burst. He swallowed, searching her face for any sign of uncertainty, but all he found was loveâlove for him, unspoken but unmistakable.
âYeah,â he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. âI did mean it.â
She stepped closer, setting the plate on the counter beside them, her gaze never leaving his. Her hand reached out, brushing his cheek with a touch so gentle it felt like a promise. âI love you too, Bucky. Always have.â
Those words, so simple, so honest, hit him harder than any battle heâd ever fought. All the walls heâd built, all the fears heâd carried, melted away in an instant. For the first time, he felt truly seen, truly known. And in that moment, he knew he was home.
He reached up, taking her hand in his, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. âYouâre my whole world, Doll. I donât know how I got so lucky.â
She laughed, her eyes sparkling as she laced her fingers through his. âBy singing in kitchens at seven in the morning, apparently.â
He chuckled, pulling her close, her warmth grounding him in a way that felt like magic. âGuess Iâll have to start waking up early more often,â he murmured, nuzzling his face into her hair.
âPlease donât,â she teased, her voice muffled against his chest. âYouâre terrible in the mornings.â
He laughed, the sound deep and free, and held her tighter, knowing heâd never let her go.

Birthday present
a/n: just smth cute to celebrate Zoro's birthday âĄ
tags: Roronoa Zoro x f!reader, fluff, dad!zoro, family dynamics, post-canon
His hands shook as he wiped them from on the sides of his pants, clammy and moist from the nervous sweat he had broken out into as he waited.
It'd been a couple of hours since he received word that you'd gone into labor, caught up in a class and doing his best to rush back to the compound where the two of you lived. The whole day had been a mess, Zoro not anticipating you'd be close to delivering when he agreed to teach a class halfway across the island almost a year ago. Oh well, he can't go back and change the past, all he could do now was apologize and make up for it somehow.
"Everything went smoothly."
Not even hearing the door to the bedroom open, let alone spot the doctor slipping out of the room, snapping Zoro's restless thoughts back to the present. The man looked kind and forgiving, features creasing soft in a reassuring smile as he patted Zoro's arm.
"I'll give you all the time you need, congratulations."
Zoro barely smiled at the doctor as he turned down the hall away from the bedroom Zoro stood outside of. There shouldn't be any reason why he was nervous, right? I mean this wasn't a surprise, sort of planned and wanted so he should just go in and forget about everything swirling in his head. But his stomach flipped and churned and he wished he knew why.
Well. He can't stand out here for the rest of his life.
Slowly pulling back the shoji, slipping inside, Zoro just about melted seeing you cradle a small bundle in your arms, paired with the brightest and yet most tired smile he's seen on you.
"Hey." Falling to his knees beside the futon, grasping the back of your head and placing a kiss on your cheek. "I'm so sorry, I tried to get here as fast as I could."
A soft hand came to silence whatever else might've come out of his mouth next, gently laughing and kissing his cheek back, making the unease in his veins simmer into nothing.
"It's okay, this was kind of unexpected, for everyone."
Zoro cumbersomely laughed, pressing his forehead to yours and then following it with a kiss, reassured to know you weren't upset with him for missing the birth of his first child. You began to scoot over to make room for him, adjusting the baby in your arms and giving Zoro a brief glance. Shit he felt so emotional, a lump rising in his throat and finding no way to make it go away.
Slowly your hand moved the loose blanket swaddled around the baby out of the way so Zoro could see them properly. They were sleeping soundly in the comfort of your arms, it almost didn't look or feel real that he was a father now. He'd hope the realization would've set in sooner, but at the same time the overwhelming sensation coursing through him felt other worldly.
"Can I?" Asking nervously, watching you break out into a small laugh at his question to hold his own child, but Zoro was nervous and it couldn't be helped.
"Of course."
The exchange felt like it was in slow motion, Zoro something of a giant to this new life and instantly on pins and needles when the baby was placed in his arms. Moving as carefully as he could while sitting on the edge of the futon, Zoro looked at you with misty eyes, not quiet crying but overflowing with joy.
"It's a boy by the way."
Hearing you whisper the sweet words and smiling even harder, looking back down again at the baby and adjusting his hold to where he could move the blanket further away from their face. His son made little faces at the adjustments, worrying Zoro for a moment but calming when he continued to sleep.
"I meant to get you a proper gift, but I hope this is okay for now."
Quicker than he could process, Zoro was twisting to look at you fully, uncertainty taking over in his expression.
"Gift? What are you talking about?"
Your sweet laugh confused him further, wondering what you were talking about. Subtly, you scooted closer, hooking your chin over his shoulder and throwing an arm around the other, pressing your cheek to his as you both admired the sleeping baby in his arms.
"It's your birthday today."
Oh.
Oh-
Zoro slightly turned his head with wide eyes, the reminder dawning on him in that moment and suddenly he felt emotions he couldn't find proper words for. His birthday wasn't anything he cared much for, just another year getting older, but he did like the excuse of getting to drink as a form of celebration. He'd been so focused on you and the dojo that his birthday didn't even cross his mind once.
"Shit it is isn't it?"
Lips vibrated on his cheek as you kissed him with another laugh, running your fingertips along his shoulder and humming peacefully.
"Mhm. You don't mind sharing a birthday do you?" Asking with a bit of humor in your tone, pulling the corner of Zoro's mouth into a firmer smile.
"No," Moving to fully turn and face you now, getting himself properly adjusted on the futon next to you, checking in on his son still fast asleep. "Probably just made my birthdays more memorable from here on out."
With his free hand, Zoro cupped one side of your face, locking you into a deep kiss, stroking his thumb over your cheek bone when he pulled away.
"It's not going to bother me, but we never know how he'll feel about it when he's older." Motioning down towards the newborn baby with his chin, breathily chuckling at his own comment.
"I guess we'll just have to wait and see." Leaning over to kiss the top of your son's head, proceeding to give Zoro a quick kiss as well before curling up into his side carefully, running your hand across the soft newborn hair with your fingers.

dream girl â§.* spiderwoman au
pairings - ellie williams x fem!reader
summary - the universe is determined to put you and ellie together, nevermind her fear.
warning - i wrote this in sept and was kind of watching good trouble at the time so that's why r has like backstory, random ass side characters, and stuff, I dunno what I was on when I wrote this so just run with it y'all, i made this long for no reason (shh 3k is a lot to me), it also occurred to me that im not good at slow burn so this aint that even if it is an attempt
also credit to @sister-lucifer for the dividers
You'd been missing from class a few times after Ellie saved you. She thought about visiting your house, but that was too creepy. Creepier than drawing you. Checking in with your dad was an option up until she realized theyâd only recently formed a truce. Finally, she landed on a coffee.
The plan still had flaws: Ellie hated coffee herself and yet she knew your exact order from overhearing it. It was super-hearingâs fault not hers. Sheâd do it anyway, and add a cute drawing of you. It was normal, right?
Ellie bounced her knee as she watched you walk into class and slip into the front desk. Jesse sat next to her. Did she forget to erase her initials? She was supposed to do that.
âTalk to dream girl yet?â
âShut it.â She opened her notebook. âAnd sheâs not my dream girl.â She had dreamed of you once and Jesse wouldnât let her forget about it.
âYou donât gotta lie to me.â
She didnât have to look at him to imagine the grin on his face. âOne day, when you least expect it. I swear.â She shook her head as she went back to watching you.
Ellie was like a deer in headlights when you looked back at her, holding up the coffee cup with a smile. âThank you.â You mouthed.
She gave a nod, hoping her smile came off nonchalant. âFuck.â She mumbled as you looked away. She did not erase her initials.
Ellie felt like a coward for not sticking around after class. Especially when it was in an attempt to avoid you. Dick move, but cut her some slack. She expected anonymity.
All this to say she wasnât expecting a coffee cup on her desk the next day. Someone was about to be very disappointed, she thought as she sat down. She shrugged off Jesse's remark about her having a secret admirer. âBoo.â She whispered-yelled at him.
She cringed right before the liquid hit her tongue. She hissed at the burning sensation before preparing herself to take a second sip. It wasnât coffee, it was some kind of tea. Sweet too. She sat back to look at the wrapper around the cup, which she couldâve done first thing and avoid the possibility of being roofied by a serial killer, but least she was now.
âI didnât know what you like but I know you never drink coffee. thank you for last week!â There it was: Message and initials in that pretty handwriting sheâd seen when she reluctantly asked to borrow notes. Ellieâs eyes flicked up to you, surprised to see you looking right back. She raised her brows, not knowing what to do as you smiled at her. Maybe smile back you idiot! She let a natural a smile as she could grace her face as she mouthed a thanks.
The absence of your eyes allowed her to revel in what just happened. That was until she could feel Jesse glaring at her. âDonât even.â She mumbled into her hands. âBut you saw that too?â
âItâs almost like I've been telling you she might, probably does, like you back.â
âShe doesnât. Sheâs just being nice.â Ellie took another sip. Her eyes lingered on the note as she pulled out her notebook. It wasnât lost on her how obsessed she looked if you were to flip through her notes. Lucky for her, you never asked. âI'm not gonna read into it. At all.â Safer that way.
âWonât have to if you make something happen for real this time.â
âLetâs talk about your love life for once.â
âAlive and well, thank you very much.â
âWhat? Thatâs all I get?â Ellie scoffed. âYou stick your nose into mine all the time!â
âWeâre not talking about me.â Jesse sat back in his chair with his arms crossed. She huffed, flipping to a new page as her eyes traveled from him to you. You were as oblivious to your effect on her as always.
Ellie had dozed off. She was nudged into consciousness by Jesse. As much as she wanted to grumble and go right back into dreamland, she could see how much she missed just by the sheer number of words on the board. Tiny, tiny words.
The words coming out of the professor's mouth were pure gibberish as her sleepy senses zeroed in on you. "Ow!" Another nudge from Jesse, telling her to pay attention to anything other than you for once.
It took all of three seconds for her to hear the two words she dreaded: Group project. What normal person would be excited to do a presentation over economics? The better question was what normal professor thought she wanted to do that, but she leaned forward as she listened for the pairs.
She froze as she heard her name and yours in the same sentence. As a pair, doing the project together.. Ellie swung her bag over her shoulder as she pretended to search for where you sat. She was careful not to bump into anything as she settled into the newly vacant spot next to you.
"Hi," You said in that kind voice she'd always managed to pick out above all other noise any time she heard it.
"Hey," Ellie dropped her backpack. "Ellie, back row." She inwardly cringed at the words left her mouth. She didn't need to introduce herself; You'd known her enough about her to get her a drink, which made her hope that meant you were looking at her as long as she'd been looking at you. Or not, in the event that she did something humiliating she didnât remember.
"I know your name." you smiled. "Did you like it?â She glanced down at your hand pointing to the cup in her hand. "I didn't know what you like and not everyone likes coffee so.."
"Oh, yeah. I..don't usually drink tea, but you surprised me." She tapped her fingers against the cup as you rested your head in your hand, eyes attentive though she was saying nothing important. "How are you feeling? After the..thing a few days ago."
"You know about that? Iâm okay, it was just a few bruises and soreness."
"Uh, I listen to a podcast. Better than the news, less boring. I'm..I'm glad you're okay." She tucked her hair behind her ear as she glanced at the blank space of the table.
"So, after we pick a topic, I was thinking we could head to the library and keep working after class." Her eyes drifted back to you, taking in the way you shifted into a certain level of focus she lacked at the moment. That was something she always admired about you. "Unless, you have work or something more important."
"Oh, no! I'm free, not busy at all." Stop talking.
"Great!" You said with a friendly smile. "Wanna go?"
"Yeah, we can go."
Once you got to the library it had finally set in to Ellie that she had to behave with some degree of normalcy. Itâd be embarrassing if she made it any more obvious how much a crush she had you.Â
âOh, I forgot to ask you about your number.â You picked up your phone and went to the contacts, pressing new contact. âJust in case you or I canât make it, stuff like that.â Ellieâs hand was gentle in taking your phone and typing in her number, afraid the sweat on her hands would blur the text on the screen.Â
âI should be able to make it.â She said, needing something to do besides nod at your every word like an idiot. Â
âGreat.â You flashed her another friendly smile.Â
Time had gone by relatively slow. Few words were exchanged as you worked on a shared template, putting in information neither of you cared for. Eventually, your computers were pushed aside in boredom. Â
âI canât read any more about supply and demand or my brainâs gonna implode.â Ellie rubbed her eyes. She was starting to wish she enjoyed coffee so she could reap the benefits. Â
âThank god, Iâm not the only one.â You shut your computer abruptly with force. Ellie did the same with care not to destroy the thing. âI hate this class and the professor. He doesnât teach, like, at all and then expects twenty slide presentations.â You rambled, dropping the sweetness she had come to know you for. Ellie couldnât help but chuckle. âSorry, itâs..the caffeine or something.âÂ
âIâll bet. Your go-to has a million pumps of caramel syrup in it coupled with an extra shot, just so you can still taste the coffee.â Tiredness had wore down Ellieâs usual anxiety. She hadnât even noticed she teased you until your face morphed into shock at being called out.Â
âI didnât know you noticed that, but then again you were so nice to save me six dollars.â Â
âOutrageous price, by the way.âÂ
âThat tea you liked so much this morning was the same price so,âÂ
âWelp,â Ellie threw her hands up. You both shared a laugh. Â
âLetâs get out of here.â You said suddenly, crossing your arms just to lean forward. âI canât stand the quiet anymore or this pointless project.â Ellie knew what you meant but that didnât stop her mind from going to different places.
Stop it, you idiot! âAgreedâ Â
Ellie had managed to pull her weight despite inwardly panicking around you. It didnât help when you looked at her the way you did.
The workload was getting lighter and left more time for you to get off topic and talk about anything that came to your minds. Ellie couldn't pinpoint the moment she'd transition from not believing you were talking to her to not wanting to stop. Probably somewhere around the you exchanged numbers for the sake of project neither of you were worried much about.
She was satisfied, or rather she'd tried to convince herself she was, with just texting back and forth as friends. She decided she'd shove her feelings deep down, eliminating the worry of ruining your newfound friendship or putting you in danger. Ellie was okay as the friend, as long as she was close to you.
Ellie leaned against the rough brick wall of your apartment building a she waited for you come out. The soft material on the inside of her jacket gave her enough of a distraction until she heard the screech of the door. âHey,â A smiled immediately appeared on her face as she took in how you drowned in your adorably festive sweater.
âOkay, before you come in, I wanna let you know my friends are weird. They donât know boundaries but I promise they're really niceââ
âYou were serious about the communal living thing?â
âEllie!â
âIâm just asking!â
âCâmon, you.â Ellieâs heart jumped as you shamelessly laced your fingers with hers, dragged her along into the rustic building. Her wandering eyes were something like a kid in toy store, instead of an overly decorated lobby. The decorations were gaudy but homey, nonetheless.
She became self-conscious that her hands were becoming clammy as you continued to hold her hand, squeezing it every once in a while. âJust remember, theyâre trying their best to be normal.â
âAnd..whatâs not normal?â
âJan bringing in random rescues, V keeping us up because sheâs ârunning her linesâ, Jade never leaving her room except to tell us our rent is due, and Winn never not having a friend over, but he's having a midlife crisis so." You shrugged. "Pretty normal stuff.â
âAnd you all share a bathroom..and stuff?â
âItâs the best I could get.â You said sheepishly as the elevator opened. She could immediately see what you were talking about the moment you started to struggle with the stubborn elevator gate. Her hand was soft in grabbing your wrist. "I got it."
âYou clearly havenât seen my shitbox I call an apartment. This is fine.â She remarked as she opened the rusted gates without much effort. Her eyes landed on even more Christmas decorations.
âIf youâll let me work my magic, it wonât be a shitbox.â You looped your arm around hers.
âYou will never look at me the same. I'm serious. It's a disaster. A dumpster fire, really." It became easier to put down the worth of her apartment as she saw how filled out your building was just from the hallway. Even the scattered belongings had a way of telling anyone who came in that everyone who lived there was proud to. She couldn't lie, the closer you got to the dining room, that too you shared of course, she was sweating bullets. That's what it felt like at least.
"I can handle a dumpster fire."
Ellie's head turned back to you, eyes softening at the sincerely at your words. You were not making this any easier on her. She could wait out a crush. If she hadn't known you these past few weeks, she would've forced herself to get over it, but that hadn't been the case. "Hey, before we go in, i wanna thank you for all..this. You didn't have to invite me."
"I wanted to." You said simply.
"Why?"
"I don't know. No one should have to spend the holidays alone. Definitely not you, especially you." You poked her shoulder.
"What's so special about me?" She mumbled. That was not supposed to come out.
"That a serious question?" It didn't make sense in her mind, your interest in her. Shad no time to formulate a response when a short blonde girl came in with a bowl in her hand and muffled words coming out of her mouth. "Guess that's our cue." You smiled, tugging on her hand.
"Why the hell are you eating straight cranberry sauce?" Your words were fuzzy to Ellie as you took the bowl from the girl's hand. She was too in her mind to laugh at the absurdity of the situation.
She was hugged by a few people, all of which had nothing in common but living in the same building. Sat down by an older man she could only assume was Winn and fed until she felt her stomach could pop. Given a lecture on method acting from jade.
There was a point where she ran into being questioned by a few of them. The quippy, confident version of her was nowhere to be seen then and replaced with a stammering, blanking mess. Fortunately, you covered for her.
Ellie stared at the city with a full belly, leaning back on the less than stable lawn chairs on the side of the rooftop pool. The heated debates behind her served as background noise to the glimmering light and commotion New York provided. She took a sip of her beer. Her head turned towards you in the doorframe.
"Overwhelmed yet?"
"I wouldn't say that." She said with feigned coyness, sitting up to see you better.
"I wouldn't be mad. Or blame you."
" They do have a weird sense of...hospitality?"
"Hospitality is a word." You smiled, amused as you looked up at nowhere at all.
"At least that's the word I landed on." She shrugged.
"Well, you obviously haven't even used the bathrooms yet." You looked down at her with that smile she loved seeing. You took a seat on the chair next to her.
"Why do you think Iâve been sipping everything?" Ellieâs eyes never left you as you laughed in unison. She could've swore your smile melted into something shy. You never seemed shy at all. Or you were damn good at hiding it.
"Hey." Ellie hummed in response. "Iâve got something for you."
Her brows raised as you brought out a little blue box from behind you. The ribbon was crooked but tied by you, she could tell. "You didn't have to-"
"I wanted to. I promise I don't do anything I don't want to. Now, take it. Please? For me." You held up the tiny box like a offering in your hands. Her eyes moved from your face to the small box.
"Alright, fine. You don't have to beg." She inspected the cute little ribbon before carefully undoing it.
"Damn near,"
"Oh shut it." She glared up at you as she took the top off the box. As she looked down, the attitude slipped off her face. It was a camera as tiny as the box decorated with little savage starlight stickers.
âItâs not much, but I know youâre artsy and I figured maybe photography would be a nice hobby.â You scooted to the edge of your chair. âAlso, it might be nice to have pictures of our first date.â
Her head snapped up to look at you, biting your lip in anticipation. âYouâre asking me on a date?â
âOnly if you want to.â
âI do want to.â
âYou do?â
âIâve wanted to for a while. i didnât think you noticed.â Ellie flipped the camera in her hands, running her fingers along the mini stickers of the superhero. She wanted so badly to be on that date right now, taking pictures of everything so the memory would always be fresh in her mind.
âHow longâs a while?â Your voice was quiet against the howling of the cold air, but in a way it felt intimate how close and quiet you were. There was gleam in your eyes from the fairy lights surrounding the patio area.
âIf I answer that, will you still wanna go on a date with me?" Her eyes were almost pleading as she looked back up at you.
"I asked." You leaned even closer, allowing Ellieâs eyes roamed your face under the dim light. When she realized she was caught staring, she averted her eyes as she pressed her lips into a barely contained smile.
The moment was once again interrupted by jade. The girl stood with an empty pot, asking you where it would go. Your shoulders slumped a degree before you went into the kitchen with the young girl. "You could've asked Winn, hun.â
Ellie took that as her cue to get going. She took a sip of the now warm beer and grabbed her gloves. Her eyes were glued to you as always as she made her way to the elevator.
Knowing you wouldn't let her leave without a goodbye, she leaned against the gate for no more than a minute. As expected, you came around the corner with a smile and a few plates in your hand. Her eyebrows furrowed as her eyes landed on the stack of foiled plates. "Youâre making me feel bad, y'know that?" She leaned her head on yours as you wrapped your arms around her.
"You can make it up to me on..saturday."
"Saturday?"
"Thatâs the day."
Ellieâs eyes widened, realizing you were serious. Some part of her thought youâd forget all about it a few days later and sheâd look like the desperate one bringing it up. leave it to you to prove her assumptions wrong. "Got it." She was still dazed as you leaned up to kiss her cheek and close the gate for her. Her biting her lip couldnât stop her from cheesing as the events of the night finally set in. She was doomed.
