10 Things I hate about you
Hobie brown x reader
word count: 1120
(My) Nuisance masterlist
Synopsis: You have hated your neighbor for one year, 3 months, and 8 days. You hate his hair, his boots, his obnoxious music, and most of all you hate the way you love him
a/n; This is the last part of the main (My) Nuisance story! Other installments will be on parters about reader and Hobie before and after the main plot. Thank you to everyone who loves this story it means the world to me!
Being neighbors with Hobie has been one of the most frustrating, exhausting, and confusing experiences of your life. He has truly put you through hell and back.
1. I hate the way you talk to me and the way you do your hair.
If someone had told you one year ago you would be completely head of heels for Hobie you most likely would have laughed in their face. If someone had told you he was the man under Spider-punk's mask you would have jumped off a bridge right then and there. Yet here you are, searching your brain for answers about Hobie and his feelings wondering what you got yourself into.
2. I hate the way you lie to me and your stupid boot buckles.
The unbearable truth was, Hobie got to you. Most importantly he hurt you in the process. You werenât supposed to get close to him, you werenât supposed to fall in love with him but you did. He had completely forgotten about the night before and it hurt you more than anything. You genuinely thought he liked you, as luck would have it he confessed to you that he was a compulsive liar when he drank too much. Leading you into realizing he didnât mean it, why would he? He seemed like the type who would flirt with you just as a fun game, you didnât know what you were expecting.
3. I hate you so much it makes me mad, it makes my head spin, my stomach ties into knots, makes me weak in the legs.
Was that what this was? A sick joke? A game to him? Just thinking about that made you want to scream at him. Yell at him, tell him how angry you were with the fact that he played with your feelings. You wanted to scream at him and give him a piece of your mind. Yet you couldnât. You have always been able to yell at Hobie, always. Even over dumb things like the way he talked. But now, itâs different. You wanted to get up and yell at him but you stayed sitting on the ground. Legs to your chest and you just sat there. Unable to move, frozen in that position.
4. I hate it when youâre out all night drinking and the way it makes me worry, worry so much that I stay up all night waiting to hear your stupid boots.
You hear a knock at the door and know itâs him. Of course itâs him, in your time living here he was the only person to ever knock on your door.
âLove? I- I want to talk to you. Can you let me in?â He asked, his voice quiet.
5. I hate your stupid smile and the way you purposefully play your guitar too loud just so iâll come over.
He takes your silence as an answer, heâs about to say something and then pauses.
âWhen you were in my room you found a box. It had your stuff in it and a letter. I wrote the letter for you. You deserve to read it. I have your necklace and ring too, sorry bout that,â he gave you an awkward laugh.
âNo, I shouldn't have even known about it,â youâre surprised you could even speak to him, âI donât want to read it either,â you say quickly.
âYou have a right to know what it says, okay? At least let me tell you.â
6. I hate that you were so easy to fall in love with.
A few seconds after he finished talking he turned the doorknob and walked into your flat.
âI donât know what I said to you last night but I'm sorry. Whatever-â you cut him off before he can finish.
âDonât. I know you didnât mean it so donât. It doesnât matter now I'm over it,â you brush him off.
âSo uhm, what did i say exactly?â He questions
âI said it doesnât matter, piss off!â you snap.
You both look away from each other, unable to speak.
7. I hate the way you hurt me and the way you made me get close to you. It would be so much easier to despise you if you werenât so handsome.
âThe letter talks about how much I love you, alright? Ever since the day we met and you gave me that stupid note I have been in love with you. You really donât see the way I look at you? Or- or how I'm extra loud when I know you're trying to sleep? I would do anything just to look at you, that is how in love I am with you. I donât know if youâre really just clueless or youâre trying to ignore the signs but I am pulling every string to try and make you fall in love with me. Is that what you want to hear?â Heâs out of breath by the time he finishes. Tears are brewing in the corner of his eye.
8. I hate it when you say exactly what I want you to say.
âYeah, actually it kind of is. You told me that it hurt when I didn't show up for our date. I thought you did like me, but then you said you lied when you were drunk. And I don't know why but I believed you,â You confess.
9. I hate it when we donât talk and the way you make me feel. I hate that I didn't understand those stomach knots were me falling in love.
âNo no no, I thought I said something that would upset you. Of course I meant that, Love,â he said, holding your face in his hands. The cold metal of his rings touching you.
âYou mean that?â you ask.
âIâve never been more sure of anything else,â he smiles. God that stupid smile.
âYou also, kind of told me something else. You said you were uhm, Spiderman?â you nervously asked.
He visibly tensed up.
âOh that, well I guess thereâs no point in lying huh?â
âSo you are?â
âYeah, for the last three years. But I donât believe in labels, theyâre stupid,â he shrugs
âThatâs pretty embarrassing for me then, hm?â you look around your spiderman themed room.
âNah, I think itâs pretty cute,â he says, making you blush.
âWhy donât we start over? We can go out on a proper date, forget any of this happened. I promise, no standing each other up and weâll be so happy,â He says, grinning ear to ear.
âAlright then, where should we go?â
10. You especially hate the way you donât hate him at all. You donât like him either. You love him. Youâre in love with Hobie Brown, your nuisance.

Katsuki reaches out to you after ghosting you.
Katsuki rested his head back on the headrest in the car chauffeuring him to his hotel. He had been on this mission for 11 days now on the other side of the country than he was used to. He was thankful this mission had a driver who specifically worked with chauffeuring heroes around. It meant not running into Uber drivers that were fans. Most importantly, the agency that assigned the chauffeur to Katsuki knew to pick out drivers who didn't make small talk.
Katsuki put in his earphones for the drive wanting to drown out the day's events in music. The problem was he had no idea what the hell to listen to. That's when he wondered. Were you awake? Were you listening to something?
Back in U.A., you, Eijiro, and Denki bugged the crap out of him until he agreed to join you all in a dumb-ass video game you three were obsessed with. He hated video games and thought they were a waste of time. But, he gave in just so you all would shut up. He even made a Discord to join in voice chat.
Although, It didn't take long for him to get angry at the game and accidentally explode his computer. He still kept the Discord app, however, and even installed it on his phone. From time to time he looked to see if you all still joined in the same voice chat to play whatever game caught your interest. The times he saw you all talking were few and far between now that everyone was busy with hero work. He had noticed though, that whenever you listened to Spotify it showed on Discord what song you were listening to.
From time to time when he was away on extended missions he'd look to see what you were listening to. It was hard when he was away. He knew he wasn't good at words. Honestly, he'd rather shoot himself than call you and say some dumb mushy shit like he missed you. Sometimes he hated that he was this way. He'd seen Eijiro communicate so easily with Mina every time he was away, why couldn't he be like that? Why was this shit so hard for him?
Katsuki opened his discord and saw you were indeed listening to Spotify. He clicked on your username and it popped up that you were listening to Shirt by SZA. He navigated to his own Spotify to play the same song and read the lyrics along with the song. Some of the lyrics jumped out at him.
Kiss me, dangerous Been so lost without you all around me
In the dark right now Feeling lost, but I like it
Is that how you felt about him? Lost and in the dark? Did his actions when he was with you not carry through the space and time when his hero work kept him away from you?
He knew he should have called you, texted you, or something in the past 11 days he was gone but- You could have called him too. Damn it. Why did you both have to be so fucking stubborn? Katsuki inhaled sharply. He was probably just thinking too much about it. Even though he hadn't listened well to this song before, he knew it was popular at the moment. That was probably the only reason you were listening to it. He was being too egotistical making it about him. Surly you were fine while he was gone.
The song ended and he navigated back to Discord to see what song you were listening to now. That's when his eyes widened, grip tightened on his phone, breath caught in his throat. You were listening to that damn stupid song the class of 1A played at the summer festival. The one he played the drums in all those years ago.
You were thinking about him. Fuck. He ran his hands over his face frustrated with himself. If he were more like Eijiro even that fucking idiot Midoriya, you'd never question how he felt about you because he'd be able to say easily and gracefully. The fact was though, that just wasn't him, and he just couldn't. Simple as that. However, this did give him the slap in the face he needed to reach out to you.
Katsuki opened his messages and scrolled down to his text thread with you to type out a message.
I'll be back next week, what are your days off?
He watched anxiously as three dots appeared while you typed. Would you tell him off for not reaching out to you for almost two weeks? Would you accuse him of not caring?
I have Monday and Tuesday off.
Can I see you Monday?
Your next response left a lump in his throat and mist in his eyes.
You can see me whenever you want Katsuki.
You were too forgiving of him, too patient and he knew he didn't deserve it. You deserved someone who could say all that fucking cheesy shit, someone that didn't ghost you for two weeks because they were afraid of their feelings. But for some reason, you never seemed to mind, and you always welcomed him back in. He tried so fucking hard to show it when he was there, and he hoped that you were seeing it. He was trying. In the best way that he could.

Missing You | Nico Hischeir
summary: when you and Nico havenât seen each other for a month his teammates pull off the surprise of a lifetime when you both needed it the most.
request: yes/no
warnings: sexual themes, p in v, swearing, slight exhibitionist kink?
word count: 2.68k
authors note: welcome to the fourth instalment of the 1000 celly, and what I think is our first one with a mclaren driver. I have missed writing for this boy so much! this is also the first smut of 2024 if I'm not mistaken! we also aren't going to acknowledge that this has taken me like four days to write this...
You knew you were in love with Nico.
It was hard not to be, he had been your boyfriend for the last four and a half years and you didn't want anything more. When you were with Mclaren you met him when he was on a trip to Belgium you two met during a party. You had just won the first race of your career but the moment you saw him, the world all of a sudden didnât matter to you. But by the end of the night you couldnât get enough of him.Â
Yet as your careers both got ahead of you and it meant that the only real time you found yourself together was a three week period where you were both off in the summer break. But after this year it felt awkward for you both. You were coming up to the Austin leg of the season and with that it meant that you were back in the states. It seemed that both of you let your careers take hold of your lives, so even though you had a week off you didnât know if Nico wanted to spend the time with you.Â
That was compounded by the fact that you guys had a stupid argument, and when Nico ended the call with how he thought it would have been best if you didnât come in your week off.
Nico had been having a rough week so when the video came up of you and Lando being interviewed by a child, it was the cherry on top of the shit cake. Not even your FaceTime call could have taken him out of it âthere you are love!â You smiled as you saw the picture connect âfinally found some time away from Lando?â Nico grumbled as he hadnât even finished the video when you called.Â
Your face dropped as you furrowed your eyebrows âyou okay?â You trailed off as it only seemed to piss him off further âwhy do you have to go get all flirty with your teammate?â The accusation made you freeze âokay back the fuck up hotshot.â You warned as you raised your hand signaling to him to stop.Â
It wasnât often that you two fought but after months without sex - or any variation of it - you were both frustrated âI did not flirt with my teammate or anyone because Iâm in love with you!â You were close to hanging up as you glared at him âyouâve got a funny way of showing that.â Nico laughed as he shook his head.Â
You were doing alright at the moment with your racing, many podiums and even a win in the season that could all but have been called Maxâs. But with one DNF and one DNS coming right after each other, you were now stressed âlook donât make your team playing like shit right now my fault.â You grumbled not realizing that the comment had slipped out âif weâre so shit then maybe you shouldnât come!â With that Nico hung up leaving you with the reflection of your shocked face.Â
As much as you wanted to apologize for what you had said, you were still upset that he could have ever questioned how you felt about him. It was clear the entire world noted how both of you were currently struggling not only in your sports but also how you just seemed to be out of it. You missed your boyfriend but as fans would have you sign random pieces of devils merch as the announcement of your relationship upon your win in Austria two years ago came with a whole new group of fans.Â
So when you were sat in the comfort of your hotel room and got the message from Jack asking if you wanted to come to a devs game before the race in Vegas, you knew you couldnât say no. Not when this was attached.Â
Jacky Hughes: he misses you, even if he wonât say it
The text made your heart break especially after you watched Nico get injured. The Prudential Center was a place you found comfort in but this time as you sat amongst the crowd all you wanted was him. Nicoâs name was proudly stapled on your back as you were in his jersey and a plain black cap as though it was going to be enough to hide your identity.Â
And it did until the final intermission just as the boys got back on the ice âshe still not talking to you?â Nico had called you earlier that morning but as you were on your flight you had no way of answering it âI just miss her.â Timo couldnât help but place his hand on the boys shoulder as he felt bad.Â
More than half of the team knew that you were here and Timo decided he could no longer leave Nico in his misery âlook up there.â Six rows up sat next to Ellen and Jim Hughes, was you.Â
Nico felt his jaw drop as he locked eyes with you âhi.â You mouthed like he could even see what you were saying âlove you.â Nico did the same thing as you as he placed his hand on his heart as you blew him a kiss.Â
That final period everyone swore that there was a rocket under Nicoâs ass as he scored two different goals, both of which you knew were dedicated to you as the boy would smirk in your direction. It seemed that both of you were ready to finally see each other but as he got one of the stars of the game it left you waiting with Jack âthank you for getting me here.â You smiled at the boy finally taking your cap off as you realized you werenât hiding anymore.Â
Jack brushed it off as it was more of a favour to the boys than something for you guys âjust hope he behaves.â You had mentioned your apprehensions on coming because of how you two fought âhave a feeing we both will.â You nodded as you watched Nicoâs head stick out from the crowd âschatzi!â He called out acting as the cue that Jack needed to leave âhave fun.â The boy patted your shoulder as he walked off to his parents.Â
It was only a few seconds until Nico was in front of you âhi.â He smiled noticing how you fidgeted with your rings just like you used to when you guys first started dating âyou played well tonight cap.â The nickname had his mind fulling with thoughts, all as inappropriate as the previous.
His hand locked with yours as he clicked his tongue wanting you to stop âIâm sorry I called your team shit.â You were the first to apologize as your voice was soft not wanting his teammates to hear you âletâs go talk in the car.â Nico offered as he slid his arm over your shoulders letting your rest your head against him.Â
It had been a while since you were in New Jersey as your summer break was spent in Europe âhow did you keep the boys quiet?â Nico asked as he locked his hand with yours over the center console âit was actually their idea.â You smiled revealing what the surprise was âJack said you missed me.â You teased letting out a giggle as the boys cheeks turn red.Â
Nico couldnât help but nod as he sighed âyou and Lando are good friends and I know you love me.â The hockey player had found himself repeating the apology that he tried so many times to send you âI seriously think youâre on a great team.â You hated how badly you spoke about the team when Nico stood by your side through everything âcan we agree we were both wrong?â The air finally felt light as the car came to a stop when the light turned red.Â
His eyes stared into yours as he swore that there was nowhere that heâd rather be âonly if it means that I could kiss you.â Nico mumbled as it made you smile ânever need to ask me that.â You shook your head as the boy dropped his head to the side as he let his lips touch yours.Â
A fire built up in your belly as his hand grazed your cheek finally stopping as he tugged on your hair âNeek.â You moaned feeling him smirk against your lips âI know baby.â Nico sighed having to pull away as the car behind them hooted as the light went green âso fucking happy to have you back my sweet girl.â He mumbled letting his hand rest on your thigh as he smiled.Â
Being captain of an NHL team came with a bunch of privileges. One that Nico never realized that he was meant to appreciate was an expensive apartment with a view that could have been worth a thousand bucks âthis will never get old.â You gasped pressing your fingers against the glass as you watched New Jersey continue to move beneath you âfeels great getting to watch you in it.â Nicoâs breath fanned against your skin as the hairs on the back of your neck stood up.Â
It was as though your entire body melted as his hands gripped at your hips âeven in all of this?â You joked looking down to the fact that you were fully clothed âwould prefer if you were just in this.â His fingers tugged at the jersey on your shoulders.Â
All of a sudden an idea popped up in your mind âwhatâs stopping you pretty boy?â Your tongue darted out of your mouth as you turned to face him âyou gonna let me?â Nico raised his eyebrows in surprise as he hooked his fingers in the belt hoops of your pants pulling you closer to him âyou get whatever you want my little star.â You cooed pushing yourself onto your tippy toes as you wrapped your hands around his shoulders.Â
Nico grinned as he swayed your hips against his âfuck I need you schatzi.â His groan was caught as your teeth grazed his lower lip âdonât make me wait.â The fight was now long forgotten as he undid your belt âgod youâre soaked.â His eyes blew up at the sight of the wet patch on your panties.Â
He helped you out of your pants âdo something please.â You begged as his eyes had you feeling like he had you fully undressed âput your hands against the window then for me.â Nico moved your hair to the side of your neck.Â
As you listened to his command his pants grew tight around his boner âlooking so good tonight in my jersey.â The boy cooed as he turned his attention to the flesh of your ass squeezing your skin between his fingers âjust tonight?â You held back a moan as you wiggled your ass in front of him desperate to get a reaction from the boy.
That behavior was cut as he lay a quick slap to your skin that was quickly followed by a soothing motion âyouâve got such a pretty ass.â He mumbled to himself picking up the band of your panties only to let it snap again as it made you jump âI need you Nico.â You begged letting the cool glass hit your forehead âyou have me here schatzi.â His hand palmed your ass.
It made you whimper as your jaw went slack âneed you to touch me.â Your tone was sultry as your body tensed âyou just a cock hungry girl tonight?â The boy was amused as he took the time to unbuckle his belt as you bit your lip in anticipation âasked you a question pretty girl.â His voice pulled you from your focus as you turned your head to face him âwant you baby.â Was all he needed to hear as he dropped his suit pants letting them hit the floor.
Nico missed this view as you practically oozed with anticipation âgod Iâve missed this cuntâ His fingers traced on the lace on your underwear before he hooked his fingers into the waistband leaving you nude from the waist down âyou donât have to wait much longer pretty boy.â You smirked hearing the gasp that left his lips as you knew that he was palming his cock.
The boy dragged its swollen head over your slit spreading his precum over your clit âdonât tease me please.â You begged as your knuckles turned white as your fingers tensed against the window âhow do you think they would feel seeing how needy you are for me?â Nico teased as he kissed your neck as he slid his cock into your cunt âso big.â You gasped as the boy gave you a moment to let your walls stretch as his cock throbbed inside you âmoove p-please.â You moaned feeling his hands squeeze your hips.
He felt his head drop back as you whimpered âlet yourself scream fâme baby.â Nico nipped at your earlobe as it made you squirm âthey canât hear you from up here.â He reminded you of where you both were âyou want people to watch you fuck-me!â You yelled the last part as Nico hit your ass once more.
Nico growled from behind you as he had gotten carried away by the fact that that you were still in his jersey âdeserve to see who you belong to.â His possessiveness made you clench your cunt around him âyou like it when I call you mine huh?â You nodded as you cried out âbelong to you cap.â If Nico didnât have so much planned for you he would have came on the spot but he used everything in his power to not coat the walls of your cunt in that moment.
The sound of skin slapping echoed in your ears as the sight of you in his jersey made his mouth water âhated thinking about those boys so close to you.â He grunted in your ear as his hands trailed up the inside of the jersey âyou just look so fucking good in this.â As your hair was pushed to the side it had his name proudly displayed on your back.
You moaned as you nodded ââs all for you neeks.â You no longer seemed to care that you were against the window as your legs began to shake âIâm so close.â You announced as your hand trailed down to your clit as you began to rub at the sensitive nub.
As the boy realized what you were doing he swatted your hand away as he continued the assault on your clit âbe a good girl and hold it fâme.â He clicked his tongue as he wanted to push you just a little bit further âi-i canât.â You swore that tears were filling up your eyes as you whimpered âjust a little bit longer.â He practically pleaded wanting to push you as close to the edge as he could.
Sweat made your hair stick to your skin âI need to-â your plead was short lived as he cut you off âlet go for me.â Nico mumbled as his cock throbbed your body shook as you came âfuck fuck fuck!â You chanted as you pressed your head against his shoulder as your cunt clenched around him âthere it is pretty girl.â Nico cooed as he kissed your temple as his orgasm came shortly after yours.
Nico watched your chest heaved as he slid his cock out of you âyou were so good.â You mumbled turning to face him as you smiled âthe night doesnât have to end schatzi.â Nico cupped your cheeks as he pecked your lips âtake me to your room cap.â He didnât need to hear anymore as he threw you over his shoulder making you squeal as he laughed.
The door to his room shut and with that the rest of the events planned for you two werenât going to be seen by New Jersey. Because as fun as that was, being tangled in the sheets was far more favourable.

a/n: second installment of the 'sleeping around the frat house' series! and so the drama begins. don't worry if jake's installment is shorter than this, he will be coming back in the future installments heh. in the meantime, enjoy your stay with heeseung ;) *divider by cafekitsune
it's fucking horrendous how much the frat house reeks of weed tonight. you're surprised cops aren't banging the door down at this very moment as you're sure the stench has at least a 1-kilometer radius from its point of origin.
the music rings loud in your ears as you shuffle through the crowd of people hollering at the beer pong game in the living room. you bite your tongue when you feel a girl jam her elbow into your side, not even an apology or at least an apologetic glance given your way.
you sigh, trudging on, eyes scanning the faces of the people around you.
jake did say there was going to be a party tonight and that you're welcome to seek refuge in his room while people rage downstairs. but you have needs and one of those is food, and while you would prefer to not have the smell of cannabis sticking to your clothes, you are hungry. the last meal you had was the lunch jake ordered for the two of you nearly twelve hours ago.
you vaguely remember jake getting up to shower roughly an hour after the two of you finished what must have been your third round. that's when he told you about the party. you hummed dismissively, planning to leave even before the party starts.
but apparently, jake must have fucked you real good, because you knocked out for hours after you drifted off to sleep at the sound of jake's soft humming in the shower.
so here you are, scouring the party for your technically-not-boyfriend, wanting nothing more than to see a familiar face.
you reach the kitchen. no jake.
you peek through the window to look at the front yard. still no sign of jake.
you stumble out into the backyard and see that of course, it's a pool party, with about fifteen people crowding inside the water, spilling beer everywhere. because drunk and high college students around bodies of water are totally safe and fine.
you're about to storm back inside the house when you feel a warm presence materialize behind you.
you squeak in surprise when you find yourself face to face with one of jake's friends, his broad frame seemingly shrinking you in comparison as he eyes you down. you've seen him a few times before as his room is next to jake's. but you cannot for the life of you remember his name.
"are you okay?" he asks. his voice is smooth and clear, indicating that he's probably not as inebriated as everyone else.
"yeah, i'm just looking for jake," you explain. "you don't happen to know where he is, do you?"
the friend smiles, eyes flicking up and down briefly over your body.
"oh, you're that girl. the one jake fucks around with," he says, as if stating a well-known fact and not a semi-personal detail of your life.
your cheeks heat up as you nervously glance around to see if anyone's close enough to overhear.
jake's friend laughs, nudging your arm playfully.
"i don't know how to tell you this but there's no point in keeping it a secret. everyone in the house is well-acquainted with your...noises," he says, winking.
you huff, crossing your arms over your chest.
"yeah, well, do you know where jake is?" you press on, trying to steer the conversation elsewhere.
"he's off buying more booze," the friend states. "he just left, actually."
a twinge of annoyance tugs at your chest. he leaves you in his room and not even a text to tell you where he's going?
"you can stay with me for a bit," the friend offers. you study his face and he smiles, raising his eyebrows expectantly.
"we can crash in my room," he adds, thumb jerking upward towards the direction of the house's second story.
you sigh, the beginnings of a headache creeping up behind your eyes.
"sure, yeah, i guess."
he smiles holding his hand out to you. you take it and let him lead you through the party. as you exit the kitchen and re-enter the living room, it seems as if the number of people have doubled, jostling you about and nearly knocking you off your feet. you feel jake's friend wrap an arm protectively around your waist, tugging you along towards the stairs.
he doesn't let go until you're right in front of his door.
the name 'heeseung' is spelled out in those small felt letters, the ones used for scrapbooking, stuck smack dab in the middle of the door.
'cute,' you think as you chuckle quietly to yourself.
"what's so funny?" heeseung asks, a playful look on his face. he swings the door open and motions for you to enter.
you shake your head. "nothing. the name on the door is just very middle school."
heeseung laughs, following you as you step inside the dimly lit room. a sunset lamp is turned on in the corner, casting faint shades of yellow, orange, and hints of purple and pink on the walls.
"it helps when the others drunkenly drag girls up here during these parties," heeseung explains. "you'd be surprised at how they forget which room is even theirs when they've had enough to drink."
you giggle, plopping yourself down on heeseung's bed.
"waitâare you the one that i'm hearing about lately? the girl that's trying to sleep her way around the frat?"
your smile fades as you remember the conversation you've had a week ago with jake. or more appropriately, the challenge jake sprung up on you that you so recklessly accepted.
"uh...," you begin, avoiding heeseung's eyes.
"yeah," you finish simply, shrugging. what else is there to say?
heeseung grins, clearly amused. he keeps his eyes on you as he empties his jean pockets of things, setting them down on his desk. keys, a wallet, a square foil wrapperâoh, waitâtwo square foil wrappers andâ
"why do you have so many condoms?" you ask in mild disbelief.
"i'm director of operations, which just means i manage the house and make sure no one comes home one day with a baby," heeseung rattles off, picking up one of the condoms and brandishing it at you.
"hence, the condoms."
he points to a drawer in his desk. "there are two more boxes there. no frat babies on my watch."
you afford yourself a laugh. heeseung smiles along, stretching his lithe body out. your eyes observe the shift of his muscles under his shirt, the curve of his ass in his jeans, and the way his hair falls messily into his eyes.
heeseung groans in satisfaction and you rip your eyes away from his pecs.
"so, director of operations...," you say, raising a brow at heeseung.
"ah, jake did mention you were narrowing your, er, conquest to the executive committee," heeseung muses as he makes his way to you.
you crane your neck up at him and from this angle, you can easily lean forward, undo his belt, unbutton his pants, andâ
"that's five more people to go through, including me," heeseung says with a grin. "you sure you can handle that?"
you scoff, shaking your head. "i really hate it when people underestimate me."
"i'm not underestimating you, sweetheart," heeseung denies, holding his hands up as if in apology. "i'm just wondering if you know what you're getting into."
you cock your head to the side, eyebrows knit together.
"jake might be willing to share, but the others?" heeseung stops there, whistling lowly.
you think about it for a moment. six guys, some you haven't even met yet. unknown kinks and fantasies. uncharted territories. he's right. what have you gotten yourself into?
"also, just a side note, we get tested every three months," heeseung says, pulling you out of your thoughts. "it's an initiative i started. we just had our last test the other week and everyone was clean."
you nod along, admittedly impressed.
"you're very efficient as the director of operations, heeseung," you compliment. a bashful smile spreads on his lips.
"thank you," he says, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"i'm efficient in a lot of other things, too."
you swallow. you can see where this is going. you know heeseung locked the door earlier, and the show of condoms wasn't an accident, either. it's dark in this room but you know the look in heeseung's eyes.
your first actual conquest in your mission to see if you could sleep your way through the frat.
"really?" you ask, trying to stretch out the inevitable limbo, the in-between, the not-knowing of whether you're permitted to move to the next level.
"and what might those other things be?" you add.
heeseung laughs, sounding exasperated. he leans down and you back up, scooting further up his bed. heeseung plants one knee on the mattress, his arms on either side of your legs. he's not trapping you in. not yet, at least.
at this point, it's anyone's game.
"baby, let's just do what we came here to do."
that easy, huh?
turns out yes, it's that easy. because your legs are parting and heeseung is sinking between them, one hand reaching out to hold your face steady. his other arm braces against the headboard as he finally cages you in between the wall and his broad frame.
heeseung kisses you, rough and spontaneous and intense. you groan against his lips, your hands laying gently on his neck. you can feel his pulse and his heart is absolutely racing.
"come here," heeseung mutters, pulling you forward. he pulls you over himself as he sits back, your legs on either side of his thighs as you straddle him.
"say 'red' if you want to stop, okay?" heeseung whispers, a hand smoothing up your back.
you nod, perching yourself on heeseung's lap, resuming your assault on his lips. you bite down gently on his lower lip and he moans, nails digging into your sides.
you're about to lose your damn mind.
"fuck," you whisper as you feel heeseung roll his hips up against your core. he smirks, his mouth working its way down from your jaw to your neck.
"don't hold back on me now, baby," heesueng coos. he pulls back and looks at you, tucking your hair behind your ear. "i hear you every time you're next door in jake's room. wanna hear you do the same for me."
you bite your lip, your whole body heating up now that you're confronted with just how loud you are.
"come on," heeseung urges, pushing your shirt over your chest. you wordlessly put your hands up, letting heeseung tug the garment off you.
heeseung reaches behind you and snaps your bra open in a second. you shiver as you feel him pull your bra off.
he must have done this a thousand times before.
you let out a breath as heeseung dips his head, lips capturing one of your nipples in his mouth. his hair tickles at your chin and you can smell the faint scent of his shampoo. you smooth your fingers through his silver locks, tugging lightly when you feel him bite down.
"i'm not hearing you," heesueng mumbles between your mounds, leaving open-mouthed kisses on your skin. his fingers reach for your other nipple and he pinches down, hard.
that's when you let out a shriek of surprise, grip tightening in heeseung's hair. he hums, sucking on one spot right in the middle of your sternum.
no low necklines for you any time soon. or maybe you'll wear them, anyway. see what jake has to say about the hickey his friend left on you.
heeseung slides you off him, guiding you down onto his bed. he taps your hip.
"off," he says curtly, referring to your jeans. heeseung pulls back and gives you the space to tug off your pants, his own hands frantically pulling off his own clothing.
a minute later, the two of you are left in nothing but your underwear.
heeseung takes ahold of your thighs, spreading your legs wider. you hear him breathe in as he eyes your core.
"you're such a nasty whore," heeseung says abruptly, his hand coming down to slap your pussy. you gasp, lurching forward in surprise.
heeseung presses a hand on your stomach, applying the smallest amount of pressure. it's a warning. stay still.
"getting wet at the idea of fucking your boyfriend's friends," heeseung sneers, smacking your sensitive mound again over your panties. you whimper, shaking your head.
"n-not my boyfriend," you sniffle. "he's n-not."
"still," heeseung responds. another loud smack. harder this time.
"what kind of person lets a whole frat house slut them out? a dirty fucking whore, that's what."
you feel tears prickle at your eyes as heeseung lands a few more slaps on your aching pussy. you're drenched at this point, making a mess for sure on heeseung's sheets.
heeseung practically yanks your panties off, revealing your glistening cunt. he licks his lips, the pads of his fingers pushing lightly against the relative area of your clit.
your back arches slightly off the bed. your whole body seems to shake of oversensitivity.
heeseung hurriedly discards of his own boxers and your mouth instantly waters as you're greeted with the sight of his cock, long and girthy, tapering off perfectly toward the tip.
heeseung props your legs open, aligning himself with your entrance. your eyes meet and you look at him, confused.
"what happened to your whole 'director of operations and no frat babies under my watch' spiel?" you ask.
heeseung snickers. "i'm a bit of a hypocrite, baby."
he pauses, studying your expression and waiting for you to say something. the safe word. your teeth worry at your bottom lip but you nod.
"go ahead," you whisper.
heeseung nods as well, pressing himself against your leaking entrance. your mouth falls open as heeseung manages to squeeze in half of himself in you. he pauses, planting his hands firmly on your hips. he pushes all the way in, pulling you down on him at the same time.
you both gasp.
"oh fuck," heeseung curses. you clench down on him and he grunts.
heeseung starts to move, and if there's one thing you know about him by now, it's that he wastes no time. he's ramming into you relentlessly after only a minute, your head spinning as your mind tries to catch up with your body.
he feels good stretching you out like this, that's for sure. your pussy squelches each time heeseung pushes in, proof of just how wet you are for him.
you're moaning uncontrollably now, heeseung's hips snapping up against yours. looking at him, his forehead creased, eyes squeezed shut, it dawns on you what you've started.
if all the other guys on the executive committee would look just as good as heeseung does right at this moment, buried to the hilt in your cunt, then maybe you are a nasty whore.
"heeseung, heeseung, heseeung!" you cry out, unable to contain the pleasure coursing through your body.
heeseung leans down to press his lips messily onto yours. tongue and teeth and spit greet you as you kiss him back. you wrap your legs tightly around heeseung's hips and he lets his eyes roll into the back of his head.
"baby, oh god," he says, pressing his forehead against yours.
"you think jake will mind if i cum inside this pussy?" heeseung whispers, his breath ghosting over your face.
you can't help it. you moan out like a cockhungry slut at heeseung's words.
"please," you beg. "need your cum, need it inside me."
heeseung chuckles darkly, pulling away slightly. "you need it? gonna go around and tell my brothers that you need their cum too?"
you shake your head, though you're unsure why you're doing this because you know heeseung's right. maybe at this point, you've truly gone dumb over cock. heeseung's cock.
"no, no," you protest. "n-need your cum now. need it, want it so bad."
heeseung wraps his arms around you, pressing your bodies close together. he buries his face in your neck as he continues to fuck into you shallowly. your belly tightens as your own release approaches. the friction of heeseung's abs against your clit pushing you closer and closer.
"gonna cum," heeseung warns. "gonna cum inside this pussy, godâ"
you feel heeseung twitch inside you and a final drag of his toned abdomen over your nub sends you over the edge. you tighten your hold around heeseung as you sob onto his shoulder.
the two of you lay still for a few moments, breathing heavily. you hold each other close for another minute before heeseung pushes himself off you, sweeping his sweaty hair back.
he grins down at you before kissing you lightly.
"i might need to steal you from jake after this," heeseung jokes as he slowly pulls out of you. he grabs a towel hanging off his desk chair, holding it between your legs.
you laugh weakly, your head lolling to one side as you feel exhaustion wash over you.
heeseung plops down beside you, arms automatically winding around your midsection. "you can stay here for tonight."
you hum in contentment, snuggling up to heeseung.
---
jake is frantic as his call is unanswered for the fifth time. where the fuck are you?
the party has mostly died down by now and he thought you probably had gone home. that's when he started calling. two missed calls. no problem. you weren't a phone call type of person, anyway.
he asked everyone who he thought might know you at this party about your whereabouts and if they saw you leave or not, but no one seemed to know where you wandered off.
hence, five more missed calls.
"you alright?"
jake looks up from his phone to see sunoo dragging a plastic bag behind him, halfheartedly picking up stray cups and chucking them into the bag.
"it's ______. she's not answering," jake complains, pressing the 'call' button once more.
"oh her," sunoo says with a knowing smile. "i saw her with heeseung a few hours ago. they haven't gone back down since."
jake pauses, immediately ending the call. he sighs, half wanting to laugh and half wanting to punch himself.
so, it's started. alright, then.

You thought things were fine. Dave is the perfect gentleman. It is a complete shock to see this text from your friend. It was a picture of Dave with another woman and two little girls at a soccer game. Maybe itâs his niece's soccer game and heâs just there being a good uncle? Until the next text comes in.
Isnât that your boyfriend?
Another picture is attached featuring Dave, his arm around the woman. Then another and another and another. More evidence to suggest he is obviously in a relationship with the woman and you are the one left in the dark on this whole situation.
You stopped responding to your friend a while ago, staring at the pictures they sent. Back and forth, memorizing every detail. The way heâs looking at her. The way his arm is around her. The way heâs touching her. The way he kissed her -Â that was the one that sealed your fate of knowing you had in fact not been seeing a recently divorced man but a married one. Your phone buzzes with another text notification.
D. York: Hey baby, still picking you up at 9 right?
You glare at your phone unsure of what the next step is. Obviously he is cheating on his wife unbeknownst to you. How does somebody even handle something like this? You really liked Dave, you saw a future with him. Your relationship has been going on for months now.
After neglecting to respond your phone buzzes again with another text from the man himself.
D. York: Been thinking about youÂ
You roll your eyes and text him back.
You: Not tonight. Donât feel good.
D. York: Aw you poor thing. Do you need anything?
You didnât even have the energy to respond with this new found information rattling around your brain, pressing the button to make your phone sleep and making your way to your bedroom. You plugged your phone in and crawled into bed, ignoring the constant buzz against your nightstand as you tried to drift off. The sun was still out but you couldnât be awake right now. You needed to shut your brain off and this was the only way you knew how.
There was a pounding on your door when you woke with a startle. The moon casting shadows through the curtains into your room. You checked your phone, seeing the multiple notifications, some from your friends and some from Dave. Heâd also tried calling several different times.
D. York: Are you okay?
Did you talk to him yet?
D. York: Do you want some company?
Want me to kick his ass?
D. York: How are you feeling?
What do you plan to say?
D. York: Baby, please answer me. Getting a little worried here.
The pounding on your door continued as you checked your phone. The doorbell camera he insisted on getting for you and installed showed Dave at your doorstep holding a plastic bag, grumbling, you got out of bed and walked towards the door.
âIâm coming. Give it a rest,â you shout, hoping Dave can hear you over his loud knocks.
Sliding the chain lock you open the door.
âBaby,â Dave sighs with relief, âWhat have you been doing? Iâve been trying to get a hold of you for hours now!â
âI told you, I donât feel good,â you shrug, âIâve been sleeping.â
âIâm sorry to wake you, I started to get worried,â Dave says, looking around your living room, âI got you some stuff to hopefully help with whatever bug youâve seemed to catch.â
You watch as he carefully steps into your space, placing the bag on the coffee table in front of your couch.
âDave,â you sigh, âI know.â
âKnow what?â Dave asks, hands on his hips and shaking his head with a smirk.
âI know youâre still married.â
You see his adam's apple bob as he swallows, flopping back onto the couch, and clasping his hands together. He stays silent for a moment, contemplating what to say next.
âHowâd you find out?â
Your eyes widen, not expecting him to fold so easily.Â
âA friend sent me some photos from today at the soccer field,â you murmur, trying to keep the wavering in your voice to a minimum.
âI see,â Dave says with a nod.
âYou also have kids?â
Dave nods again, facing you this time.
âWhy?â
âWhy what?â Dave scoffs, âSleep with you?â
âI wouldnât just call what weâve been doing as âsleeping together,â Dave,â you say, using your fingers as air quotes when the words sleeping together leave your mouth.
âItâs really not that big of a deal,â Dave chuckles, âI get bored from time to time and like to play with someone new.â
âYour wife know that?â you ask, glaring at him. This man who you thought you knew is showing an entirely different side of himself, and you donât like it.
âShe doesnât need to know because itâs not a big deal.â Dave sighs exasperated.
âI think itâs best if you left.â
âAlright,â Dave says standing, âIf thatâs what you want.â
âYep,â you say with a sharp nod.
âListen,â Dave says, reaching a hand towards your arm, and you slid your arm back letting him know not to touch you, and he put his hand down beside him, âOkay, well, itâs really not as big of a deal as youâre making it out to be. I like you, I like what weâve beenââ
âDave, youâre cheating on your wife,â you grit through your teeth interrupting the spiel he was going on, and swung the door open for him, âLeave.â
â
âFucking take it.â Dave growls in your ear, thrusting his hips harshly into you, âJust like that baby.â
Your moans fill his ears, he can tell youâre close. The way your walls flutter around his length, squeezing him tighter. He can practically taste your climax in the air around him, gripping your hips tighter and angling them so he can get deeper.
âDave,â you sob, after a particularly harsh thrust. Fingers gripping the sheets beneath you, back arching as you continue to cry out his name.
Dave. Dave. Dave.
âDavid!â
Dave jumps to the sound of Carolâs voice. Looking around to see heâs in his own bed in his home, not yours.
âHoney, your alarm has been going off for 10 minutes now.â
He lets out a sigh facing his reality, adjusting the hardness in his pajama bottoms. It was just a dream. Itâs been months since heâs seen you. Youâve seemed to make your way into his brain at all times of the day, conscious or not.
âIâm gonna get the girls ready but you donât need to be late for work again,â Carol says, giving him a smile and wink. After last night, heâs not sure how much longer he can do this. Heâs been trying to have sex with Carol more. Sure, sheâs his wife but she doesnât scratch the same itch you did.
Heâs tried. Heâs tried to be a good husband, heâs tried to be a good dad and heâs exhausted. Dave feels himself becoming more of a shell since you told him to leave.
Youâve made it abundantly clear you want nothing to do with him. He tried to reach out to you, only to have his number blocked. You disabled your doorbell camera after he left that night. You must have known heâd try and look at it on his phone, you knew he had the information for your account. Why wouldnât he try to look?
What you donât know is that once Carol takes the girls to school, he gets the second phone hidden in the false bottom of a shoe box in his closet that is an exact copy of your own. He can see who youâre texting, where youâre at, how things at work are going, who youâre hanging out with. Itâs become an obsession to check it daily.
â
As he steps out of the shower, Carol shouts up the stairs that sheâs leaving with the girls, and the front door closes shortly after. Time to start his day.
Getting dressed in his running gear and snatching his headphones from the dresser. He makes his way to the closet. Finding the shoe box with your duplicated phone.
Texts from your friends, a text from your boss and a missed call from your mom. What catches his eye the most is the notification from some jackass on Tinder. James. Scanning Jamesâ profile heâs definitely not your type: blonde hair, green eyes, gelled back hair, and a full beard.
James, 29
Looking for a girl who just wants to have some fun, if it leads to more thatâs cool too. I like hiking, graduated from Harvard, hanging with my bros, anything else hmu
Dave shakes his head as he reads the messages shared between the two of you. He scans reading hellos, good nights, sharing random facts about each other, until he stumbles upon the most recent messages
James: Hello gorgeous đ
Hello đ
James: So Iâve been thinking would you wanna meet up? Go get a drink or something?
Sure! 7 good?
James: Awesome! Yeah. Do you know where Salâs is?
I do! Itâs not far from my job
James: Perfect! Iâll see ya then beautiful
No. No way in hell is this James guy meeting up with you. Dave calls the office letting them know heâs taking a personal day, he has some business to take care of.
â
Salâs is exactly what you expected it to be. Dark, dingey, and small. Not too crowded thankfully, itâs definitely got character though. The random decor on the wall is confusing. You canât tell if this is supposed to be a sports or a punk bar with the random band posters on the wall along with sports jerseys next to them.
Making your way to the bar you sit down on a stool, flagging down the bartender.
âWhatâs your poison for the night?â He asks, wiping his hands on the towel he was carrying.
âJack and Coke,â you say, slipping your hand into your bag to get your wallet out. He makes quick work of mixing the drink and placing it in front of you, handing over your card while you hear the jingle of the door.
âStarting a tab?â The bartender asks, swiping your card.
âNo, thank you,â you smile as he hands your card back to you, putting it back in your wallet.
Out of the corner of your eye you can see someone standing a couple stools away. Looking down at your drink, moving the straw around before taking a drink. You take a peek at your watch to see itâs 10 minutes before youâre supposed to meet James.Â
Maybe this was a bad idea, you havenât had to do this in months. It was easier when Dave just kind of fell into your life.
âWhiskey on the rocks.â
The hairs on the back of your neck stood up when you heard the familiar timber of his voice, head snapping to look at him. Dave. His smirk as he waits on his drink says it all, he knew you would be here. Was he James?
âAre you fucking serious?â You hiss through your teeth.
Dave thanks the bartender, moving closer to you.
âI come in peace,â Dave says, sitting in the stool one away from you, âAll I want to do is talk.â
âAre you James?â You ask through clenched teeth, glaring at him.
âOh baby,â Dave tuts, âIâm not James, heâs very real.â
You continue to glare at him. Unable to force your brain to work with your limbs on moving, leaving, throwing your drink on him. Anything other than sitting here being in his presence.
âHe wasnât hard to convince to leave you alone though,â Dave looks at you with a smirk, one eyebrow raised and begins to chuckle, âOne mention of snapping any finger that touches you sent him running.â
You try to swallow but your throat feels like a desert, gripping the tumbler in front of you and taking a swig. Did he⌠did he do something to James? Surely not, Dave wouldnât even kill the spider that appeared in your apartment one day, scooped it up and took it outside. How could he cause harm to anything?
âDave did youâŚâ pausing pondering how to even ask the question.
âDid I hurt him?â Dave asks, scooting to the stool next to you and leaning in closer, invading your space and you nod your head, âNo, just made it known whatâs mine.â
You let out a sharp gasp at his words, arousal seeping into the gusset of your underwear, thighs clenching together at his closeness, feeling goosebumps erupt across your skin. This shouldnât be happening but your body thinks otherwise.
âIâve missed you baby,â Dave hums into your ear, âDonât like how we ended things.â
The way he says it has the ice around your heart melting. You hate him but canât help the way your heart betrays your brain at his words. Dave lets out a small growl, gripping your bare thigh beneath the bar top possessively.
âIâm staying in a hotel room tonight,â he says, the grip on your thigh becoming less and smoothing his hand against your inner thigh. Gliding his hand up, up, up. Pinky finger playing with the edge of your underwear under your skirt.
You grab his hand and pull it away from your core, bringing it to rest on your lap. Lacing your fingers with his, while his thumb rubs along your palm. You sigh, contemplating what to do. Go with him or send him packing like last time. The devil on your shoulder telling you to go with him, itâs just stress relief, it wonât- it canât mean anything, he knows your body better than anyone else. The angel on the other side just repeating the same words, heâs still married.
In the words of your mother, if he doesnât cheat with you then heâll just find someone else. Might as well have fun.
âIâve missed you too,â you confess with a soft whimper in his ear. Finally seeing him again after months of nothing has your practical sense crumbling.Â
âLetâs go then,â Dave smirks, standing pulling your hand slightly to stand with him and leave.
â
Dave drove like a bat out of hell to the hotel, dragged you to the elevator and his room as if this was his last chance to have you. Clothes flying off the moment you crossed the threshold of the room.
âDave,â you moan, his lips ghosting down your neck to your collarbone. His hands grip your ass, pulling you flush against his front, feeling his erection against your stomach.
âIâve missed you so fucking much,â he groans, his mouth sucking the flesh of your breast, capturing your nipple in his mouth and giving it a nip. A whine escapes past your lips at the sudden pressure of his teeth, moving your body with him until you feel the back of your knees hit the bed.
Dave releases your nipple, pushing himself against you to lay back on the bed, making room for himself between your thighs. His dark eyes swimming with lust study your face. His hand comes to rest on your jaw, thumb brushing your cheek.
âWhyâd you let me leave like that?â His voice barely a whisper, lying his forehead against your own.
âYouâre married,â you wince hearing the words leave your throat. You shouldnât be doing this.
âI can change that,â he smirks with a chuckle, kissing the corner of your mouth, âIâd leave if it meant youâd stay,â kissing your jaw, âIâd spend every single day of my life making you happy,â he coos, trailing his lips down to your neck, laving his tongue against your pulse point.
âDave,â you plead, hoping to stop his words. You donât want to hear this, itâs all lies to get you to stay. The ache between your thighs begging for more.
âMean it baby,â Dave says with a hum, mouth traveling down the expanse of your body, âOnly want you,â he breathes when his face inches away from your sex, âLooks like you want me too,â he teases.
You feel the warmth spreading through your body as he sighs using his thumbs to spread your lips apart, staring at your glistening slit.
âOh yeah, sheâs definitely missed me,â he hums, flicking his tongue against your clit.
âDave,â you gasp, gripping the sheets between your fingers. He works his tongue along your bundle of nerves swirling and sucking.
âGod Iâve missed this pussy,â Dave growls, gripping your hips tightly before fucking you with his tongue.
âFuck,â you moan, back arching off the bed. The fire in your abdomen grows more intense. You reach for one of his hands, linking your fingers with his. His other hand moving, fingers prodding at your entrance.
âPlease,â you beg, âDave, pl- please. More, I- I need m-â, you cry out when his fingers plunge into your cunt. Swiftly curling them inside you as he moves the pads of his fingers back and forth putting delicious pressure against your g-spot.
âThatâs it baby,â Dave groans, nipping your inner thigh, âLet me have it.â
Your toes curl feeling the coil in your lower belly tightening, leaning your head up to watch him. He looks as wrecked as you feel as he rapidly flits his tongue against your clit. His brows furrowed in concentration as he worked his mouth and fingers in sync for you to reach your climax, his lips shiny from your arousal. He opens his eyes to see your mouth hung open in a silent scream, brows pinched together as you pant looking into his eyes.
âDave,â you pant, âBaby, Iâm gonna come.â
Your walls clamp down on his fingers as you stare into his dark orbs. White hot heat spreads throughout your body, letting out a soft shriek.
âFlip over,â Dave instructs, moving your pliable limbs so youâre on your stomach. You cry out as he pushes his cock into you sharply.
âFuck.â
âShhh,â Dave tuts, âItâs okay baby, you can take it.â
You whine, it feels like heâs splitting you in two, walls gripping his length. He doesnât give you a moment to adjust before heâs roughly snapping his hips into you.
âMake you mine again,â Dave grunts, âNo one else deserves you.â
The pain quickly turns into pleasure as he works his cock in and out. The sound of your squelching pussy filling your ears as strangled noises crawl up your throat.
âGod damn baby,â Dave hisses, tilting your hips up as he grinds his hips into you, hitting that spot deep inside only heâs been able to reach.
âMissed this so,â he grunts, slapping your ass, âFucking,â another slap against your skin, âMuch,â another harsh slap before soothing the marks heâs left with his palm.
âDave,â you let out a choked sob, feeling the pleasure building, thrusting your hips back into him, âFaster.â
âDirty girl,â Dave hums, gripping your hips again, pounding into your pussy at a frantic pace, âYou gonna- oh fuck- come again?â
You can only nod your head weakly, feeling the sizzling pressure in your abdomen start to boil over. Your walls spasming and contracting around his cock. The muscles in your legs tensing before screaming out.
âOh fuck,â Dave moans, âThatâs it baby. Come on my cock. Just like that.â
Dave leans over caging you between his arms, thrusting into your wet heat a half a dozen times before his hips start to lose rhythm and going still, your name tumbling from his lips, letting your walls milk his cock feeling the warmth of his seed paint your walls.
âI really have missed you,â Dave admits slumping against you with a sigh, âSo fucking much.â
He kisses your shoulder before pulling out with a hiss. You groan feeling the emptiness before he helps you up, guiding you to the bathroom.
You shower together, taking time to wash each other with delicate touches, and sharing intimate kisses before crawling back into bed with his arms wrapped around you.
You wake sometime in the middle of the night. Daveâs snoring beside you, finding your phone amongst your belongings scattered around the room, you make your way to the bathroom. Looking at Dave sleeping so peacefully from the doorway of the bathroom you canât help feeling torn. You loved him, still do if youâre being honest with yourself, but this isnât what you two should be doing.
You find an uber available and schedule to be picked up. Quietly making your way out of the bathroom and grabbing your things when you hear two identical dings. One from your hand and one from Daveâs bag. Slipping your clothes back on you slowly wander over to his things. Rummaging around until you find a phone, similar to yours. Pushing the button on the side you see a notification for an Uber 5 minutes away, looking at your own phone to see it displaying the same.
âWhat the fuck?â You whisper to yourself, head snapping to look at Dave hoping you didnât wake him. You look around to find a pen and piece of paper.
â
Dave wakes the next morning with a smile, remembering what happened last night. Sliding his hand to where you should be, feeling the cool sheets under his palm, peeking an eye open to see the empty spot next to him.
He listens closely to his surroundings, hoping to hear the shower but is met only with silence. Frowning as he sits up, scrubbing his hands against his face trying to rub the sleep from his eyes. Looking around the room for any sign of you, taking note of your things being gone.
He sees a folded piece of paper lying on top of something on the dresser. Dave gets up to inspect what it is. His name is on the paper, sitting on top of two phones. Immediately recognizing one as yours and the other the duplicate he had made. His eyes scan the note you left, unable to believe what he was reading.
Youâll never be anything but a lying, cheating, manipulative douchebag. Figure your shit out. Donât ever reach out to me again.
Daveâs hand curls into a fist as he reads the note over and over again. You left. You really left and this time itâs going to be even harder to find you.
He smirks, shaking his head as he collapses on the edge of the bed. You must not realize how much he loves a challenge.

A/N: Hey! Yall waited long for this, sorry about that. I have no idea how to tag this but I'll just do it somehow, bc this is a tricky chapter. Here yall get to dive deeper in the stuff that has gone down before the events that took place in 1st chap and get a hug from Shoko. This is hopefully the last installment of this. Read the tags carefully as always and make informed decisions based on that and take care of yourself. Shit can get heavy, but I'm trying to do this in good taste.
Read on ao3 part I
Shoko Ieiri had worked a long time with people who suffered. She had seen it all, limbs cut off, even the toughest of sorcerers reduced to crying messes as they practically had their innards falling to the floor. Thereâs something utterly horrifying watching a patient, no â a friend scream in pain when even her skills were not enough. Funerals came and went, the white sheet thrown over the deceased on the operation table in the same routine way sheâd change her linens. Nothing really shocked her.Â
Thatâs what she liked to think.Â
Your visits have been more frequent. It started with bruises and sprained ankles. Then it was broken bones that soon turned to puncture wounds, your clothes sticky with deep red and dirt. When she asked about it, you laughed it off saying itâs nothing, just a silly little mishap, âI was too reckless in the heat of the moment.â But your eyes were empty, your words hollow like a dead tree. Of course Shoko did her job, without asking too much. Youâre an adult and youâll speak about it if you want to, right? Her job was to keep you alive. Your job was to exorcise curses.Â
Shoko and you had been close too, hanging out with the two men, but at some point in high school she had withdrawn from the group. Gojo and Geto had tried to keep in touch with her in adulthood, inviting her as well to spend time together as the four of them, but she had always declined, smoothly changing their relationship to acquaintances at best. She heard enough of the despicable men from you. The only times she was in direct contact with Gojo and Geto was work related and god how she hoped that it would stay that way. Sheâll play that pretend game almost happily.Â
Shoko closed the office door the day turning to evening, sundown coloring the city in hues of orange and yellow. She held onto her little black purse, thankfully it was friday. A man stood on the long corridor, standing upright as if he did not belong here. He looked indifferent, almost bored.
âNanami.âÂ
âIeiri.âÂ
They greeted each other with a curt nod.Â
âSo what brings you here? You seem healthy enough,â Shoko asked as they walked to the open parking lot, only a few cars in sight. The warm summer sun caressed her cheeks, wind making her long hair flow in waves.
âI think sheâs going through something,â Nanami stated as a matter of fact talking about you. He and you had gone on missions together, but something about you wasnât right. He had seen the way you clutch your weapon, throw yourself at the enemy recklessly almost as if you had a death wish. Itâs like you waited for your end.Â
âNo shit.â Shoko chuckled amused. It was as clear as a day if you just had eyes on yourself. âWhy do you care?âÂ
âIâve seen enough people spiral to know where it leads. Youâre a healer, canât you help?â His voice was thoughtful, not betraying a hint of emotions.Â
âI canât help a person who doesnât want it,â Shoko said. âBut Iâll try to figure something out.âÂ
âAnd that is enough. Thank you.âÂ
***
You hated meetings and rarely took part in them if you could avoid them. You had not met Gojo or Geto after the unfortunate night. If there were some work related things where there was a possibility to meet either of the men, you requested to be part of them remotely or that someone would just forward the key points. But after doing this for a few months Yaga had sent you a passive-aggressive email writing that it is absolutely mandatory for you to show yourself at least once in a while. You didnât bother to answer him with anything other than a polite see you there.
Honestly you were tired. Your whole body ached in overexertion. Sleep escaped from you, ran a marathon around the block never stopping at your house, and every time you seemed to catch a break, hazy images you rather forbid being real filled your vision. Your eyebags told a story of exhaustion, your body shrinking in every possible way away. You went to see a doctor, not Shoko, just some normal practitioner from the private sector that you ended up paying yourself sick for.Â
The doctor gave you pills to help you with sleep. He asked you if you were stressed or going through some sorts of crisis. You answered with a diligent no and explained that youâve always had issues with sleep, but you were otherwise okay. He looked at you, raising his eyebrow in suspicion, the glasses on his head hung on his nose by a thread. He decided to believe you as he wrote the prescription, but insisted you took home pamphlets about depression and crisis hotlines.Â
You tried the pills. You did fall asleep, but only after a panic attack wrecked through your body as the effect of the medication forced you into a deep slumber. The pills made you feel your pulse in your whole body. âItâs a quite strong product, previously used to treat psychosis, but nowadays itâs for patients with severe insomnia. Take it one hour before sleep. The effect might be really sudden.â Â
When you woke up you decided to throw them away. Itâs better to not to sleep if it meant that youâd go free from the horrors of the night you had experienced.Â
The huge meeting table sprawled out horizontally and was able to sit around fifteen people in it. It had several small electric outlets for computers and tablets. Light poured in from the big windows, the blinds only halfway done. You stared at the weird scribbling on the white board that Principal Yaga was wiping furiously, muttering things about how students shouldnât be let in this room under any circumstance since they canât differentiate which markers are okay to use on it.Â
You exchanged pleasantries with him. The room was devoid of people since you were too early. You swung your leather bag on the back of the upholstered office chair and sat yourself down.
Shoko walked in and her face lit up a little bit when she saw you sitting there. It was subtle, you thought that you were maybe the only one who could differentiate that expression from her. She sat next to you, a faint hint of neroli wrapping you to its calming aroma.Â
Next came Meimei and then Utahime who came running to you two giving a happy hug to Shoko. They were so cute together, you thought to yourself as you fidgeted with your slightly too big shoes, constantly removing them and pushing them back to your feet. People donât usually like small talk, but nonetheless the group chatted with each other. They had to, because itâs polite and you were coworkers. You thought that small talk was easy. The script of it was burnt to your brains for the rest of your life. You get to keep people at an arm's length and keep up appearances, so whatâs there not to like?Â
A familiar blonde man stood in the doorway. You checked your phone for the time. Only five minutes before the official start. Yuki also appeared after Nanami. Â
âHello,â he said and nodded at you as he sat himself next to you. Your whole body stiffened around him. It was hard to look him in the eyes and even harder to work missions with.
It was ten minutes past the official time when the meeting was supposed to start.Â
âSorry we are late.â Two men marched in the room with confident strides and took their place in front of you facing you, that was sitting in between Nanami and Shoko, Utahime next to the doctor. Suguru sat down next to Yuki leaving a space for Satoru who had Meimei next to him.Â
Hearing Suguruâs voice made your skin crawl.Â
âItâs fine,â Yaga said and looked over his shoulder to look at the white screen he had pulled down earlier with only a blue screen reflecting on the fabric. âI canât seem to get this work anyway,â he mumbled.Â
âDo you need help?â Suguru walked over to the man struggling over his laptop. âHave you checked the HDMI-cable?âÂ
âOf course I have, I just donât understand why it won't work. We have Ijichi remote today,â he muttered partially to himself. Â
âLet me.âÂ
You sat fidgeting on your chair focusing on everything else than the two men and their presence that suffocated you. If you were a candle theyâd be snuffing you out but not properly, no, that would be too kind. Theyâd always let enough air in so that youâd never be completely put out.Â
âHello to you girls.. and Nanami,â Satoru flashed a playful grin at the four of you. Your head jerked involuntarily to look at the man. Thank god he has a habit of covering his eyes, but somehow that made him even worse.Â
âHello. How are you?â Nanami nodded politely.Â
âIâm well. Hopefully the work isnât stressing you out too much.â Satoruâs smile widened.Â
âSpeaking of work, Iâve heard that you and her have started doing missions together,â Satoru nudged his head towards you as he spoke directly to Nanami. âI actually green lighted the idea of sorcerers working more together. Itâs good to practice teamwork and I put in good words for the two of you, since you compliment each other with the techniques you have. â Satoru moved his head to look your way as he drew out his words in a way that youâd be sure to catch the dual meaning.
The wall flashed a few times showing the computer screen and itâs default wallpaper for only a moment and after that went back to blue.Â
âAn idea that I actually can get behind,â Nanami said agreeably.Â
Your eye twitched.Â
âReally? That was your doing?â You barely hid the anger of your voice. One more push and youâd pour your life savings on an amoral hitman, not that youâd believe that anyone could finish him off. It was a thought just for you so you could at least think about being mean in your own petty way.Â
âNot a fan of working in groups of two? How about in groups of three?âÂ
âYou fucking piece of-âÂ
âOkay I think itâs working now,â Yaga put his hands together straightening himself properly. Suguru walked over to Satoru, slightly shaking his head before he sat down. You heard Utahimeâs quiet âokayy..â whispered in the awkward silence.Â
âUnfortunately principal Gakuganji wasnât able to make it today, heâs sick or something.â
You heard Gojo scoff audibly.Â
âTry to respect him.â Yaga shot a glare in the young teacherâs way.Â
âIjichi and Nitta have gathered data about the hotspots of cursed activity,â he continued and opened up the window to teams only to be greeted by a tired looking black haired man in a suit. The background behind him was red, it looked like some type of wallpaper and small paintings covered the walls. You reckoned it was a hotel room. Or a motel, you really could not tell.Â
âIjichi, do you hear me? Would you like to take over?â Yagaâs voice boomed louder as if he wasnât already near his computer.Â
The grainy picture of the tired man smiling uncomfortably stayed still a little too long to be taken as a real time reaction to Yagaâs question.Â
âI hear you. Sorry, the connection here is a bit bad.â Ijichiâs voice echoed in the office room. The picture of a slideshow appeared on the wall, making Ijichiâs face smaller.Â
The map of Tokyo loomed on the wall as everyone stared at it intensely, more or less dozing off. Some parts of it had big red circles on them and Ijichi explained the way these places were having exceptionally heavy activity. He reckoned that partially the rise in activity tied to the sorcerers working more missions together leaving less people available. Ijichi also showed statistics comparing the effectiveness of sorcerers based in Tokyo and Kyoto.Â
You were about to lose your mind, your body still pumping adrenaline after the conversation with Gojo. Everyone else seemed to be bored, oblivious to your struggle. Satoru had yawned at least three times in the last ten minutes, Shoko and Utahime were both interested in their nails. Even Suguru looked tired and he was pretty good at hiding his thoughts. The only ones who did not look outwardly dead inside were Yaga and Nanami.Â
âThank you Ijichi for your hard work,â Yaga said and Ijichi nodded smiling. The pop up of the slideshow vanished from the screen leaving Ijichiâs face in a huge resolution looming onto the wall.Â
âWe are going to take in account the effects of pairing up sorcerers. Iâm not entirely in charge of how long this trial will take,â Yaga said. âIeiri has this trial affected the health care aspect in any way?âÂ
Shoko cleared her throat tapping open the ipad in front of her, her nails making a satisfying click click sound.Â
âThe injuries have lessened,â she started. Thatâs good, you thought. âBut the severity has increased,â she said with a serious face.
âWhy is that?â Principal scrunched his eyebrows together.Â
âIn my professional opinion it is due to people being more brazen when having a partner. This can be seen especially in lower grade sorcerers, who are prone to believing that they are invincible when someone backs them up.â Everyone had turned to look at the doctor who played with her hair idly as she spoke.Â
âAnd the second grade and up?â
âIt happens less. But there are some, even first grade sorcerers, who are accident prone,â Shoko said and quickly looked at you, not long enough for others to pick up on that she was speaking about you.
Gojoâs phone rang in the middle of the conference. He left the room with an apology and never came back. Relief and anger ignited in you playing tug of war in your heart as your eyes followed him bitterly.
âI think this is all. Iâll send everyone the upcoming jobs, but if no one has anything to say, I think we can conclude this meeting here,â Yaga said, the choir of thank yous and goodbyes filling the room.Â
You stretched yourself, happy to be on your feet again.Â
âHey, can we talk?â Nanami tried to get your attention.Â
You stood in the room that was quickly emptying out of people. Shoko awkwardly hung around in a small distance from you and Nanami, trying to pretend that she wasnât listening to your conversation.Â
âI donât entirely understand the conversation between you and Gojo, but if I have somehow disrespected you I offer my deepest apologies.â Nanamiâs voice was soft. Your heart ached as you realized how bad your words must have appeared to him.Â
âIâm so sorry. Itâs not about you. Youâve done nothing..â You trailed off as you saw the tall curse eating man walk outside with a sly smile on his lips.
âThatâs a relief but if I may be so blunt, I have a hunch that there is something bothering you,â Nanami said.Â
You looked at him and chewed your lower lip nervously. This was all their fault. If they had not done what they did, you would not be in this position. The least they could have done is to keep the names of people you know out of their mouths.Â
âIâm sorry to leave you hanging like this, but can we finish this conversation later?â You hurried past him, only hearing Nanami mumble the word âsureâ like a kicked puppy and you said goodbye to Shoko agreeing on staying in touch with her.
The corridor was almost empty as you walked through the school building frantically searching for that bastard of a man. Your footsteps echoed on the wood as you arrived at a not so well known exit of the building. Geto stood in front of the dual doors, half heartedly pushing it open as he furiously wrote something on his phone.Â
You yelled out his name, but he did not bother to react to you. You closed in on the man that was still standing back towards you. Anger surged in you as adrenaline made you braver than what you normally would be. You were supposed to just grab the ends of his hair that were sprawled across his back, but in the heat of the moment your impulse control had another lapse as you kept on raising your hand. A fist closed around the bun that had been carefully crafted on his scalp and you dug your fingers around the hair tie and then yanked, hard.Â
âWhat the hell are you doing?!â He turned around stepping out of the doorway letting it close properly with a thump and he closed the distance between you for good. His eyes shot daggers at you.Â
âYou did not pay attention to me.â You shook your hand out of the spare strands that were stuck on your palm and offered the small hair tie back to him.Â
âWell you got it now,â he hissed. âYou can keep that as a souvenir. I donât want anything that a filthy bitch like you has touched,â he said, the calm composure nowhere in sight.Â
A filthy bitch? Really? Then maybe you should break up with Satoru if this is your deal breaker.. Thatâs what you wanted to say, but you held back your tongue.Â
Geto took a deep breath, calming himself down, slipping on the mask that you were more used to seeing. He put his phone back in his pocket.
âWhat do you want?âÂ
âYou told me,â you started, tears threatening to flow over. âYou told me that I can just leave and do whatever I want. Why do you keep tormenting me? Why do you let Gojo do what he does?â Your voice broke as you started crying openly. You hated it, it made you weak. No. You were weak.Â
âFirstly, Iâm not his guardian. He can do what he wants.â He sounded like a smartass.Â
âSecond of all, never. And I repeat. Never, lay a hand on me ever again, especially on my hair.â You rolled your eyes.Â
Of course it was the hair that ticked him off completely. It was his crown, the only thing he had ever been able to take care of besides Satoru. Suguru loved to flaunt himself as the calm one, the kind one, but the exterior had always had some cracks in it. No amount of paint was able to hide the rotten wall behind it.Â
âI can forgive your outburst at Satoruâs, but now that youâre in your right mind, you wonât get second chances.âÂ
âI donât want âsecond chancesâ. I want you to leave me the fuck alone so I can do my job,â you yelled at him.Â
âLower your voice. Or do you want to air out all the dirty laundry for everyone?â Geto hushed you.Â
âItâs not my âlaundryâ, itâs fucking yours!â You roared and tears fell down your cheeks blurring your vision. Your face felt hot as it got wrapped in the wrath of your words.Â
Geto did not answer you, instead he chose to stare you down, not moving at all as if he was a statue. He looked like a child throwing a tantrum when things did not go his way, his face contorting to a sneer that could challenge any rich spoiled brat. You panted and wiped your face with the rough backside of your palm.Â
âMove.â
âLadies first,â he snickered childishly and kicked open the heavy door with his foot as he stepped slightly to the side. God this man hangs out too much with Gojo.Â
As you left the school grounds barely holding your breakdown away, there was one figure in the corridors hugging the wall near the exit, clutching onto her purse.Â

SHOKOâS MEMORIES, 2006
âTruth or dare?â Satoru asked, popping the pink bubblegum in the air, sucking the sticky material back in his mouth to chew on loudly.Â
âTruth,â Shoko said, placing another cigarette in her mouth. She smoked especially heavily when she was drinking.Â
Satoru had managed to bring a whole six pack of beer to the picnic whereas Suguru had found a travel size vodka bottle from his parents. Shoko had brought a package of different berries and salty crackers with her.Â
âIf you could have any technique in the world, which one would you have?â Satoru asked. He looked at the clear blue sky and the way the summer breeze pushed on the white clouds.Â
Shoko played with the corner of the blanket as she thought deeply about his question. She stared at the shoes she had placed on the grass and the manicure on her toes that Utahime had insisted on putting on her.Â
âI think Iâd keep this one,â she smiled wistfully.Â
âReally? You wouldnât want my powers?â Satoru looked at her tilting his head to the side. He spat out the chewing gum and placed it on the plastic lid that belonged to the packaging of berries. He did not like it when things ran out of flavor, always searching for something more.Â
âNo. I donât envy you at all. I just want a happy life and thatâs allâ Shoko answered his gaze, with a gentle smile. âBesides, I like the way I am and I suppose I can help people like this,â she added.Â
Satoru hummed. He was clearly dissatisfied with the answer.Â
He did not exactly know why.Â
âSatoru, that's sad. You should ask something fun,â Suguru pointed out and took a sip from the beer can.Â
The three of them sat on a grassy hill that had a pretty decent view of the city and the park below it. Shoko leaned against the huge tree behind her back. The cicadas were performing their own concert with the hum of motorways working as their orchestra. Â
âYou figure out better questions then,â Satoru pouted, but wasnât actually hurt.Â
âIsnât it my turn to ask though?âÂ
Shoko looked in the distance watching closely how a woman jogged with her shiba inu, her ponytail swishing in the same rhythm as the chord of her headphones. Both men nodded slightly out of sync.Â
âSatoru truth or dare?âÂ
âTruth.âÂ
âWhoâs the hottest person you know?â Her eyes twinkled teasingly.Â
âWaka Inoue of course. Sheâs sexy as hell!â Satoru slapped his hand on his heart as if he was saluting.Â
âReally? You still have a crush on her?â Suguru questioned. It was his turn to pout. âAm I not enough?âÂ
âBaby youâre plenty, but you canât replace a huge rack,â Satoruâs voice was steady as if he was talking about the most important thing in the whole world.Â
âI canât argue with that.â Suguru sighed defeatedly, his shoulders slumping down dramatically.Â
âUgh. I shouldnât have asked that. Both of you are so weird and gross about women,â Shoko grimaced regretting her decisions and lifted the cigarette to her mouth as if to cover the bad taste of Satoruâs words.Â
The man in sunglasses ignored the criticizing words. âSuguru. Truth or dare?âÂ
âDare.âÂ
âI dare you to share this,â Satoru lifted up a huge strawberry. âLike in Lady and the Tramp with Shoko,â he referred to the scene where the two dogs shared a spaghetti meal, eventually kissing.Â
âThatâs too small!â Shoko protested immediately, shaking her head. The idea of doing that with Suguru made her feel iffy.Â
âIâm game if she is,â Suguru said and offered his palm to Satoru who plopped the berry in his hands.Â
Shoko had a nervous giggle come out of her.Â
âCâmon, itâs just a game. You can always let go after like one bite. This is truth or dare afterall,â Satoru coaxed.Â
âFine. But I wonât kiss you, not even a peck.â Shoko established her own rule and rolled her eyes. She put out the cigarette on the grass and left the butt there.Â
âWeâll see about that,â Suguru laughed and picked at the stem that got thrown over next to the chewed up gum.Â
He awkwardly came closer to the young female student and placed the bigger end between his lips. He looked silly, the red end peeking out of his mouth. Suguru attempted at mouthing the words âcome closerâ, but neither Satoru or Shoko understood his words but the context clue carried the point to Shoko.Â
She got on her knees sitting on top of her legs and straightened herself out. Suguru was way taller than her, even when he sat. Her face approached Suguruâs who had a pink tint on his cheeks from the alcohol he had drank. Â
She opened her mouth and barely bit down on the smaller end, her tongue touching the bumpy texture of the strawberry.Â
âReady. Set. Go!â Satoru exclaimed, motioning finger guns happily. His gaze was completely glued on his two friends.Â
Suguru closed his eyes and he started to carefully nibble, closing dangerously on Shokoâs lips. She bit quickly, not really tasting anything and began to pull away in hopes of Suguru calling it quits too.Â
Unfortunately she wasnât fast enough. The last bits of strawberry fell down on Shokoâs lap when Suguru pressed his lips against hers, a faint red trail dripping on her chin. She didnât move and her eyes widened in shock. Shoko didnât know what to do so she just held her hands on her lap.Â
Suguru pet gently behind the girlâs head kissing her motionless lips. His hand trailed down to her neck and all the way to her shoulder. Shoko felt the sweet taste in her mouth mixing with the alcohol, strangerâs saliva and nicotine as Suguru dragged his hand to the mound of her breast. The warmth emanating from his palm was enough to bring her back to reality and Shoko pushed the bigger guy off of her.Â
âWhy did you do that?â she snapped and crossed her arms.Â
âOh donât get angry now. Have a drink and chill out.â Satoru sighed. He shuffled awkwardly and placed the almost empty tote bag on his lap and grabbed a new beer can from there. Shoko narrowed her eyes in suspicion, but did not want to make room for any weird thoughts that would imply even weirder things. âItâs just a joke.âÂ
âThis is not the first time you take jokes too far.â
Shoko looked away from the two boys, disappointment turning into an ache in her heart and wiped her chin clean from the strawberry. She slipped on the ballerinas laying on the ground.Â
âSeriously? Youâre leaving because of this?â Suguru tilted his head, his voice defensive.
Shoko threw her cigarettes and lighter in her own purse checking the blanket for other stuff she had.Â
âYeah, I am. Iâm not having fun anymore.â Her voice was cold as she was attempting to hide the nervous tremble in her body and almost jumped up throwing the bag on her shoulder. She turned around, once again crossing her hands against her chest as if to protect herself and started walking.
âHey! Donât you want your blanket with you?â Satoru yelled after her. The two guys sat on the quilt completely bamboozled.Â
âKeep it! I donât need it!âÂ
She didnât eat strawberries for the rest of the summer.Â
***
âHey you really should sing this one!â Shoko laughed as she scrolled through the song list.
âWhaat? No thatâs not even funny,â you laughed and slapped her arm gently.Â
âIs it really not? Or are you just a bore?â Shoko taunted getting ready to put the song on.
âCan we sing something from this?â You pointed at the category called 2000âs hits.Â
âIâll pick something at random and youâre just going to deal with it,â Shoko laughed clearly tipsy too after the multiple drinks you both had drank.Â
The disco ball was spinning around the small room painting the walls in hues of blue, red and green. Nanami sat on the couch nursing his whiskey as he stared off into space. The upbeat music filled the room, bass shaking the ground underneath your feet.
It was the first time going out after the events at Gojoâs house. Shoko had basically begged you to come with her to get shit faced complaining that she really needed someone to rant with. You told her that Utahime was right there and would probably love to listen to her, but she claimed that the woman from Kyoto had other plans for the weekend.
After arriving at the karaoke bar you had been taken back after seeing the stoic blonde man at the venue. You weighed the option of immediately leaving in your head, but your conscience did not allow you to do so, after leaving him so rudely hanging in the meeting. When the three of you had gotten your own private room you decided to immediately order shots and drinks with the only goal of getting absolutely black out drunk tonight despite having Nanami there.Â
It was honestly rare to see him after work as he had preferred to keep his distance. He was wearing the same clothing he always wore, dress shirt ironed, necktie perfectly hanging against his chest as if he was on the clock. You wouldnât have been surprised if he were to whip out a cursed tool onto the bar table.Â
You clutched onto the microphone singing unevenly as you danced to the beat, half of the syllables disappearing to you being out of breath. Shoko cackled, almost folding over as she kept slapping her thigh eyes watering. She had drunk a few drinks less than you and she had been exceptionally happy even before drinking. Truthfully Shoko was quite a heavy drinker and she definitely should not have been as wasted as what she appeared to be.Â
Nanami stared at the both of you, raising the whiskey glass to his lips after checking his wrist watch.Â
âCome here! Sing with us!â You yelled to the mic only getting a slightly alarmed expression out of him as he shook his head.
âI think Iâm okay with watching you two perform,â he said.Â
You pouted but kept on singing, your concentration skills nonexistent. You did not notice the way Shoko glared at him, nudging her head towards you as she pointed the microphone in her hand towards him.Â
Nanami cleared his throat under the threatening gaze and clumsily got up.Â
âOh my god! Nanamiii!â You screamed the noise so high pitched that even the speakers were unable to handle it and you could see how Nanami cringed at the sound.Â
Shoko squinted her eyes and mouthed the word sing to Nanami. Shoko was not going to deal with you alone.Â
The combination of the pop song and Nanamiâs voice made you giggle as you hurrayed him happily. He was not a bad singer by any means, but his voice did not fit the song choice. You wondered to yourself, why had you not gotten shitfaced earlier when you had all the good reasons to.Â
Shoko decided to take a small break sitting on the spot where Nanami had been earlier and inspected the brown liquid swishing in the glass. She stole a sip from it when Nanami wasnât watching, not really caring about the fact that it wasnât her drink.
You grabbed your drink from the table and drank from it and you kept on singing happily, almost jumping around. Nanami looked at you with a terrified expression when you moved side to side with the drink spilling on your hand, but you did not notice the wetness of it.Â
âHey, put that down before you drop the glass,â Nanami said and gently tried to take the glass from you.
âNo, I want to keep this,â a pout formed on your face but you still did what he told and turned around swiftly to place the drink on the counter. Your vision was blurry, the lights slightly too bright and you lost your balance tipping over the glass that was already safely on the table. You felt yourself starting to fall but a strong arm snaked around your waist to stabilize you.Â
The world felt like it was stopping when the arm around you changed into a tight rope that pressed around your ribcage. The karaoke room changed inch by inch to a vast room with a wall made of windows with a night view of the streets of Tokyo. The shattered drink turned into a broken light bulb on the floor. You felt a hot breath on your skin, but your body had gotten cold. It was as if you had been dunked into ice water, all the earlier excitement completely vanished. The disco ball spun around casting blue lights on the white haired manâs face that ogled you like a piece of meat. The imagery was so vivid and real in your mind that you reacted on instinct, elbowing the man behind you.Â
The rope vanished around you as the windows melted to the concrete floor, the shadows of city lights turned back to the tacky illumination of the disco ball. You felt the remnants of cursed energy fizzing out like a soda can as your eyes landed on Nanami, who was slightly hunched over holding onto his side the pain making him grimace. You had no idea how much force you had actually used, but probably quite a lot judging by the way Nanami was reacting.Â
Shoko stood there completely still, eyes filled to the brim with worry and confusion. Her lips were ajar and she gulped down wanting to say something, but she did not know what.Â
âMy apologies. I didn't mean to touch you inappropriately,â Nanami managed to say. The music track played in the background, but it felt empty without a drunken voice guiding it. He was lucky to have good reflexes, instinctually protecting himself from the blow, otherwise Shoko would have had a patient off the clock.Â
âUh,â Your mouth gaped at him hopelessly. He had done nothing wrong.Â
âIâll go for a cigarette,â you blurted out and left the room hurriedly. The long hallway stretched in front of your eyes as you looked at the numbers on karaoke booths, only muted colors flashing through the slightly translucent doors. You leaned on the wall as you dragged your feet forward arriving at the front desk that thanked you for your time, but you did not pay attention to them and turned to your left to stare at the steep stairway.
The steps were made out of wood with a black paint that had started to chip away and the walls were pure red, too bright and intense for your eyes. You focused on the door in front of you and barely saw the red walls around it as they got covered by a dark cloud, your way of seeing more animalistic than human. The only thing in your mind was the need to get some fresh air as emotions threw you around like a shipwreck at the sea.Â
You pushed the door open and walked over to a bicycle stand choosing an empty spot where you plopped yourself on. You rocked yourself back and forth as you cried and gripped onto your skin painfully hoping that at least the physical sensation would put an end to your suffering. You started to be more aware of the familiar banging against your skull.Â
The door of the karaoke bar opened as Shoko walked outside, her face now serious, resembling more the woman she was at work than the friend giggling at drunk people's jokes.Â
âHey. You forgot this inside.â She handed you your bag.
You wanted to answer something but you could not as the words got stuck to your throat. Your world flashed back and forth between sensations that you werenât supposed to feel in this moment. The guilt and sadness ate you alive, nipping away from your vitals the more you tried to push them down.Â
Shoko placed a cigarette between her lips and lit it up and offered it to you. You took it gladly off her hands inhaling the sweet smoke, but you almost ended up suffocating on it as your nose was too stuffed to handle it. Even the menthol taste was unable to help you with this issue. Shoko opened the green box once more to get herself a smoke as well.Â
She took a drag out of it and watched your shuddering figure.Â
âI saw you in the hallway with Geto. Something happened at Gojoâs right?â
You lifted your head up mascara running on your cheeks. Had you not been in such a bad state her words would have shocked you.Â
âI canât help you if you donât want my help.â Shoko crouched down to your level. You stared at her face as she left out a puff of smoke that trailed around her face, the dark eye bags now more visible than ever.Â
You choked on your tears once more, now openly wailing on the pavement your fingers digging into the soft flesh of your arm. You dragged your nails across yourself leaving pink trails behind it, the soft tingle covering the areas you had just clawed at.Â
âI canât do this anymore,â you cried, your words hard to decipher as your breath hitched. âI canât keep on doing this. Itâs all my fault. Iâm so stupid,â you screamed snot falling onto your shirt.Â
âSo fucking stupid!â You impulsively pressed the cigarette butt against your thigh melting the cloth away the stinging pain shocking you as your skin shed its layers against the fire.Â
You had no shame in your breakdown, frankly you did not even recognize the others that looked in your way speaking with hushed voices around you, as they tightened the grip on their partners hands. âThat girl really needs to lay off the drinks,â someone had said loudly. Shoko had wanted to immediately pounce, but she held herself together. She knew that you needed her more.Â
âDonât hurt yourself, when you want to hurt someone else,â her voice was just a whisper. âCan I touch you?â She asked not wanting to trigger you further. You nodded.Â
Shoko pulled you into a tight hug and you buried your face on her chest, holding onto her like it was the last thing keeping you afloat. You seeked comfort in her presence.Â
âI want to die.â You gripped onto her tighter. âIâm so weak.â
Shoko stroked your hair, her own eyes watering as she listened to you wordlessly. She felt your pain almost just as viscerally as you were experiencing them now. Â
âNo matter⌠no matter what I do. I canât escape them. I just want to be gone. I want to-â
Shoko shushed you and slipped her free hand into her pocket, digging out her phone. Almost ten minutes had gone by. She awkwardly opened her chat with Nanami trying to inform the man who was probably still sitting in their booth waiting for the two of you to come back.Â
A male voice disturbed the two of you. âIs everything okay?âÂ
Shoko pressed her hand on your shoulder pushing herself up from the ground, she whispered to you to stay put, not that you really were in any condition to go anywhere.Â
âGood that youâre here. I was just about to text you. Can you get us a taxi?â
âOf course,â he said and opened the app punching in your address that Shoko forwarded to him. He looked so much older and out of place in the busy street.Â
This was the kind hearted and lovely Nanami that had forgiven you immediately, after you had punched him in the gut because you were fucked up in the head. The kind hearted and lovely Nanami that you couldnât look in the eyes, because of a certain man whose name you felt like acid on the tip of your tongue. The thoughts in your head brought fresh tears to your eyes. You dangerously sailed in the deep waters of suicidal ideation, your tired hands opening the forbidden door. Â
âItâs going to arrive in five minutes,â Nanami hummed.Â
âI think you should go. Iâll handle this,â Shoko said, her voice full of pity. âIâll keep you posted.â
Nanami nodded in agreement.Â
âFor what itâs worth, take care of yourself too.â Nanamiâs words were carefully chosen, anticipating that you werenât the only one who needed a hug.Â

SHOKOâS MEMORIES, YEAR 2006
The beach was filled with people who enjoyed the way the sun spoiled them with its warmth. Shoko was sitting on a towel next to Mei Mei who applied generous amounts of sunscreen on her hand. They sat underneath a parasol that had been propped in the sand, covering them both from the direct sun. The brown haired girl watched as Utahime excitedly threw herself to the water. She had given up on trying to get Shoko and Mei Mei in the water as well.Â
âMei Mei, donât you have a lot of experience with boys?â Shoko almost whispered and hugged her legs. Her beach shawl swayed when the breeze decided to start playing with the huge piece of cloth.Â
âAre you trying to imply something?â Her voice was low and melodic but not at all accusatory.Â
âNo, nothing like that. I just wanted to ask you something.â Shoko shook her head flustered. âIs it normal for a guy to kiss a girl without asking?âÂ
Mei Mei burst into laughter. This was the question Shoko was getting all worked up for?Â
âShoko,â Mei Meiâs eyes glimmered softly when she said the younger girlâs name with gentleness that reminded her of a mother tugging a child into bed. âI did not take you for being this innocent,â she teased.Â
âIâm not innocent,â the brown haired girl huffed with the unexpected blush decorating her cheeks.
âDid someone do that to you?â Mei Mei tilted her head curiously and offered the sunscreen bottle to Shoko who happily took it to her hands.
âIf I tell you, will you promise that you wonât tell anyone?â
âIf Iâm honest, I donât think I care enough to tattle. You got me curious now. Tell me,â she hummed as a smile curled on her lips.Â
âWell uh.. Suguru kind of kissed me when we were playing truth or dare with Satoru,â Shoko explained . She ran her hand between the warm sand, the grainy texture giving her something else to think about. âIt was a stupid dare on Satoruâs part. Dunno why I accepted it.âÂ
Shoko added that she did not want to kiss him under any circumstances but the boy had managed to go over her boundary with ease.Â
âThatâs it?â Mei Mei asked, raising her eyebrow. She was almost bewildered at how tame the story was.Â
âYeah.âÂ
The blue haired woman scoffed.
âGuys think that girls like it when they take control and in a certain sense they are right. Maybe they got their eyes on you? Although, I did think that Suguru and Satoru were..â Mei Meiâs voice trailed off as she thought. âIt doesnât matter.â She concluded.Â
âIf I were you. Iâd go along with it.â Mei Mei suggested.Â
âNo way. I donât like them like that. Besides thatâs not what I asked for your opinion on.âÂ
âAnd?â Mei Mei turned her gaze on Shoko, her eyes hardening as she intensely stared at the younger girl. âThose two men are our generationâs strongest and youâre going to complain that one of them gave you a little kiss?âÂ
Mei Meiâs melodic voice dropped lower as she showed her true feelings of distaste towards Shokoâs views.Â
âIf I were you,â she started again, her voice tough and bitter. âIâd be securing my spot by their side and not planning to bring forth meaningless accusations over a game of truth or dare.âÂ
Shoko was at loss with the things that were being said to her. Now that she thought about it, maybe it wasnât the best idea to speak with Mei Mei.Â
âI did not say I was going to tell anyone,â her voice was squeaky like a little girlâs.Â
âBut you thought about that right?â Shoko did not deny nor confirm the accusation.
Mei Meiâs face softened. âShoko, youâre a smart girl. You should know better than to get shaken by two boys, especially when you so eagerly lead them on.âÂ
â..I donât lead them on.â
âThen stop meeting them in your spare time. If you do that, guys will think that youâre willing. Youâre not a kid anymore, they do notice that youâre a woman now.âÂ
She stayed quiet, Mei Meiâs words burning on her skin worse than the summer heat. She did not want guys thinking about her that way. She simply wanted to be their friend and the idea of boys and girls being unable to do that because of bodily differences made Shoko shudder.Â
âYou want to help your friends, right?â Mei Mei asked when Utahime got out of the water.Â
Shoko nodded.Â
âThen become a doctor. Thatâs the best you can do to others with the technique you have.â Her words were probably meant to be comforting, but they made Shokoâs heart sink to the bottom of the ocean.Â
âShookoo!â Utahime ran towards the two girls sitting on the beach towels.Â
âAre you willing to swim now?â Sand and water droplets clung onto her radiant skin that the younger girl admired silently. Shoko felt her heart skip a few times in her chest when Utahime offered her hand to her.Â
âSure.â The shy smile stretched on Shokoâs lips.Â
âIâll stay here. But you guys have fun.â Mei Mei announced as she opened the book next to her the pages slightly crumpled up.Â
Shoko did not really register Mei Meiâs voice anymore. She grabbed Utahimeâs hand and the world slowly faded away around them.Â
****
Shoko went through the bathroom nimbly avoiding piles of clothing or takeout bags as she looked through your bathroom cupboard. She found a bag of half used cotton pads and a micelar water from the mess.
The taxi drive had felt like eternity. Your tears had dried before settling in the car and numbness had taken over. Shoko helped you to your bed and said that sheâd come back soon, closing the door behind her giving you some space to change into something more comfortable.Â
The door opened. Shoko looked at you and sat on the bed. You were using a pillow as a support for your back. The night lampâs warm color casted shadows around your puffy face. The woman shook the bottle in her hand and poured liquid on the white cotton pad and tilted your face towards hers.Â
She pressed the pad on your eyelid carefully letting the mixture soak through the heaps of makeup on your face. You sniffled sadly before speaking.Â
âI can do this on my own too.âÂ
âI want to do this,â her voice was soft as she spoke the makeup remover leaving your skin slightly cold. You simply nodded and admired the way her hair framed her face.Â
âYou know Iâve had my own bad experiences too,â Shoko said, her face turning to a slight frown. Her mind was sailing in memories that she had given up on trying to understand.Â
You were at a loss of words. You wanted to pry, but it felt invasive.Â
âWith them? Really?â You heard yourself asking as you danced on the line of impropriety.
âYeah,â Shoko hummed, âbut we shouldnât have this conversation yet. Maybe in the morning, but not now,â she tried to make her voice sound brighter, feel brighter as if it would fix everything.Â
âOkay,â you said. Maybe sheâs right about this. Shoko discarded the dirty cotton pad, simply placing it on the bedside table. It was at its limits the whole thing turned into the color of your foundation with the small black streaks of your mascara on it, or what was left from it.Â
She held onto your face gently for a moment too long even after she was done. You opened your eyes to really look at her. She looked so sad and.. young? Yes young was the right word. She looked like a woman robbed out of something sacred. She had been so happy, so easy to excite in her youth, but now all she seemed to carry was baggage.Â
Your drunken mind wanted to close the distance, but something held you back. Maybe it was all the answers that were still being withheld by her, maybe it was the understanding that itâs not the right time yet.Â
âCan you stay the night?â you whispered. Shoko breathed in and opened her mouth to say something, but you were faster. âPlease? Th-thereâs some clothes you can borrow in my closet.âÂ
She stayed quiet and you waited patiently.
âIâll stay.âÂ
You smiled weakly at her and muttered a gentle thank you. She shuffled up from the bed and walked over the closet you had pointed for her. You turned your back to her when you heard the rustling of clothing that she ended up piling up neatly on one of the spare chairs in your bedroom.Â
You fluffed up the pillow next to you and lifted up the blanket when she climbed in. You turned your back to her as you lay down on your side. Your hand searched the light switch and then the room was pitch black.Â
Shoko awkwardly came closer to you till your back was against hers and she played with your hair idly in the silence. The touch was friendly, your body slumping in relaxation almost immediately. It was nice to have someone there. You had gotten so used to being afraid of the nights.Â
âGood night,â she said, her voice hoarse.Â
âNight.âÂ
***
You woke up alone with no trace of the woman in your room. She had gotten up earlier than you and dressed up back to the clothes she had in the bar. You hugged your plush blanket, almost burying your whole face underneath it, not ready to face the day.
Your head hurt and you felt nauseous. How is Shoko even able to do things? You wondered to yourself.
The faint knock on the bedroom door disrupted your thoughts as the door opened slightly.Â
âI made a sandwich for you and found some painkillers, if you want any,â she said and you heard her steps further away again.Â
You groaned and threw the blanket away from your body, the cold greeting you roughly.Â
Your kitchen had gotten miraculously cleaner, the multiple empty beer cans piled in a bag and the dishwasher hummed quietly. You stared at the brown table in front of you that had two sandwiches and glasses of water on it, hunger long gone from your body.Â
âYou really should drink less.â Shoko picked up another empty can from the counter just to place it in the bag.
âLike youâre the one to talk.â You sat on the chair with its legs squeaking against the floor with your rough treatment.Â
You grabbed the pill bottle and rattled out two tablets that you threw in your mouth and drank barely enough water to chase them down.Â
âWhat do you remember?â Shoko asked and sat in front of you. She wasnât feeling very hungry either.Â
âI remember punching Nanami and the talk we had before we fell asleep,â you mumbled, playing with the edges of the slightly crusty lettuce between your sandwich. You had meant to use it on a salad a few days ago, but you were too tired to cook for yourself. Even the simple things were hard. âWhat did I tell you?â
âNothing. You were just crying.â
Oh. So it was like that.Â
âThey assaulted me.â Your face was stern, emotions hidden behind a wall. The words felt weird. It was the first time you had actually said it out loud.
Shokoâs face widened from shock.Â
âThey what?âÂ
âDonât make me repeat it,â you hissed.Â
âSorry, I wonât.âÂ
The silence felt unbearable and you stuffed your face full of bread just to do something.Â
âThey did something similar when we were still in school.â Shoko ripped the hangnail painfully from her skin and pressed on the miniscule wound with one of her fingers.Â
You chewed the sandwich aggressively without tasting anything, the texture turning to mush in your mouth.Â
âWhy didnât you warn me?â Your words were way more accusatory than what you wanted.Â
Shoko turned her head to the side looking hurt by your sudden outburst. Her eyebrows scrunched together in pain as she looked for the perfect words, but there were none.Â
âYou admired them. I didnât want to take that away from you, and when I realized that I probably should have said..â
âBullshit, Shoko. Itâs been ten years. I deserved to know, you could have-â
âStop blaming me for their shit!â she yelled. Shoko never yells.Â
You fell quiet. You reined in your anger, its hands still attempting to reach out to anything it could latch on. She was right. Itâs not her burden to bear, but you still couldnât help but feel powerless, when there could have theoretically been someone who could have told you to not go there.Â
âSorry,â you simply said just to drop the topic. Shoko sighed defeatedly and pushed her head briefly against her hands. She understood the anger, she really did.Â
âThey drugged me and then raped me together. I donât remember a lot from it. I fought back â well attempted to,â your voice shook as you spoke.Â
The brown haired woman simply looked at you with silent empathy.Â
âDid you at least get one good punch in?âÂ
Your lips curled into a downhearted smile. The memory of your feeble fight playing in your mind, the weakness and despair of it all, a futile attempt of a prey to preserve their life just one moment longer.Â
âNot a single one,â you laughed hollowly as one tear rolled on your cheek and your lips trembled. âBut I did rip some hair out of Geto at the school,â you tried to brighten your voice and be brave.Â
Shokoâs eyes watered and she answered your smile with her own.Â
âGood.âÂ
The almost happy expression faded from your face. Everything hurt, never had you ever thought to be in a situation like this where you were exchanging devastation with your friend like gifts on christmas.Â
âWhy did you stay? Even Nanami left for a while, you could have done the same.â Your question was gentler this time.Â
Shoko pondered for a minute, not sure of her answer either.Â
âBecause this is the only way I could help. I had you and Utahime and I didnât want to leave you two behind. Besides what else was I supposed to do? Iâve been given a technique that can save many if I choose right. Had I left a lot more could have died because I wasnât here â all because of what two men did,â she tried to put her thoughts together.Â
âThereâs a reason why Utahime doesnât like Gojo,â Shoko blurted out and played with her hair.Â
You took a careful sip of water as if you were trying to carefully dissect the different flavors of Shokoâs words.Â
âWhat do you mean? Did they do something to her as well?âÂ
âNo. I just mean that women know, you know? I think itâs in our blood to recognize danger. Thatâs one of the reasons she despises him. But this is just my thought, not an universal truth,â Shoko wondered out loud.Â
She breathed in once again as if the words she was about to speak were too painful.Â
âI think sometimes us women have to carry the atrocities of men. Thereâs no rhyme or reason why they do certain things. At least thatâs what Iâve been telling myself. I never went through what you did, but I canât say that Iâm surprised,â she mused. âIâm sorry though. What you went through. Itâs not right.â
Her brown eyes stared at you expectantly. You chewed on your lip nervously and tapped the empty plate with your nail, the small tinkle sound working as a metronome.Â
âNo, itâs not,â you huffed. But it feels like itâs my fault. If I had not gone there, if I had not idolized them â loved them even. This wouldnât have ended this way. It was easier to leave those words in your head.Â
âSo what now?â You looked at Shoko, your eyes pleading, asking for answers, guidance, anything she would be able to provide to you. You knew there was nothing clear cut Shoko could say, but god how you wished that someone would know what to do.Â
Shoko shook her head in defeat as if telling you that she wasnât able to point you on the right track like that.Â
âWhatever you want. You can stay or go, but you donât have to carry it alone,â Shoko said, her face gentle. You could still draw out the remnants of the young girl from the year two thousand and six on her features. The lines were almost faded but they were still there.Â
You found kinship in her even if neither of you had shared the full story of what had happened. You werenât there yet and you werenât ready. Instead the two of you skirted around words unspoken finding solace of at least having someone who could understand. It was up to the both of you what to make out of the confessions of the past.Â

Name: Toad
Debut: Super Mario Bros. 2
Sit your ass down and listen the fuck up. We need to talk about the most badass motherfucker in the Mushroom Kingdom. We need to talk about
mother
fucking
Toad.
I can already hear you with your âbut toad was in the first game he says your princess is in another castleâ NO he fucking isnât. These are just Toads, not THE Toad, and you will put respect on his name. I donât give a shit if itâs confusing that he shares his name with his entire species. Itâs raw as hell. Itâs him just declaring himself the best out of his entire species, and they all go along with it, because heâs fucking Toad, understand? Good.
Super Mario Bros. 2 is where Toad made his REAL debut, and immediately made it clear whatâs what around here. Not only is he the fastest, leaving those other assholes in the dust, heâs the STRONGEST. This little shit is pure POWER. Heâs also all blue in this game, just to prove that he can do whatever he wants, itâs not going to change the fact that heâs fucking TOAD.
Mario Kart wouldnât be shit if Toad wasnât in every goddamn installment, and they know it. TOAD knows it. In Mario Kart 64, he is not only voiced by the legendary Isaac Marshall, but heâs known for proclaiming âIâm the best!â, because of course he would. Anyone else saying this would sound like a fucking asshole, but when Toad says it, itâs a fact. Are you going to argue against that? He has his own fucking turnpike. But thatâs nothing compared to some other tracks.
You KNOW Mario Kart 7 is not fucking around when the first track it throws at you is TOAD CIRCUIT. Thatâs right, not Mario Circuit or Luigi Circuit. Toad Fucking Circuit. This trackâs layout is deceptively simple, but then you see the massive Toad balloons all over the place, and holy fucking shit this is badass as hell. No other starting circuit comes close.
Then they brought it back for the Booster Course Pass and oh my fucking god. Toad Circuit, in HD. They went out of their way to model the goddamn HANDS on the Toad balloons this time. They did NOT need to go this hard, but they did, and you just know fucking Toad himself must have pulled some strings with the higher-ups to make his course really stand out compared to the others from the wave, which frankly look like shit.
What more do you really need me to say about Toad? The fucking body horror implications of his attack in Smash, where he sprays spores as a counter? Imagine inhaling that and having thousands of little Toads growing in your fucking LUNGS. Jesus Christ.
Iâll just leave you with the fact that Toad has become more popular than ACTUAL TOADS. Holy shit.

Ken with a gn doll!reader love interest
Reader:Â gender neutral
/Ken x Doll!Reader/
A/N:Â Guess who's obsessed lol anyway... This is NOT spoiler free! In fact, this is set AFTER the movie! I gave Ken a redemption arc because I think he'd be willing to better himself so here you go...
Word Count: 1348
â
How it started:
You were hanging out with Allan at the beach when suddenly Ken approached you, waving and smiling as he spoke: âHey Allan! Hey (Y/N)! Wanna play volleyball?â
Allan glanced nervously at you before you two agreed, following Ken through the sand.
The game was fun but you were losing, that is until you had the chance to score, jumping up in the air and striking the ball with full force⌠hitting Ken right in his face.
He dramatically fell back, face covered with his hands while groaning. You quickly ran to him, kneeling on the sand and patting his shoulder. âKen! Are you okay??â
He revealed his face, slowly blinking while examining you. You worried he was mad... you were new in Barbieland and didnât want to make any enemies. What if he hated you?
âThat⌠was⌠AWESOME. How did you learn to plunge like that??â Ken gave you a big smile, and you couldnât help but reciprocate.
How it went:
You had been hanging out with Ken a lot lately, spending time at the beach or at your Dream House (all dolls had their own house now, including Kens). He even invited you to his Mojo Dojo Casa House (yes he still called it that) to watch some movies, and you gladly accepted.
He was nice to be around, always glad to help with whatever you needed and always excited for your next activity together. He was goofy and made you laugh, which made him feel good about himself.
And because the way to his heart was through his ego, you two became best friends as soon as you started complimenting him. He even admired you back, making you feel all fuzzy inside.
Ken was ridiculously charming, and you felt yourself falling harder with each moment you spent side by side. But, you had to remind yourself you were not Barbie, and he was Ken... He couldn't possibly be interested in you... right?
Besides, you knew he had a lot to learn yet. After the incident with Kendom and the whole patriarchy thing, he started studying sociology and began a journey to better himself, and you were happy to be there to help.
You reminded him of his daily mantras ("I'm kenough") and accompanied him every time he visited the library for more books. Ken cringed while you reminded him about the past. âAt least you apologized to Barbie, right?â
ââŚâ
âRIGHT?â
And just like that the two of you were on an adventure to the Real World, for Ken had a very important mission.
â
You had never been on rollerblades before, so as you arrived at the Real World, you started to wobble. Luckily, Ken caught your hand and continued to hold it, helping you balance. You felt heat rising to your cheeks, blushing at the unexpected touch and intimacy. (Unbeknownst to you, Ken was blushing hard as well, trying not to think much of it. You were just friends, right? This was normal⌠right?)
You both found Barbie, and you were proud to hear Kenâs apology as he spoke. âIâm⌠Iâm sorry. Iâm sorry for everything, Barbie. For trying to install patriarchy in Barbieland, for stealing your house, for all of it! You donât need to accept my apologies, but I just needed you to know that Iâm trying to better myself every day, and (Y/N) is helping me with that!â While Ken looked ashamed, Barbara looked shocked.
In the end, she accepted his apologies and smiled at you as you waved your goodbyes.
Ken felt immense relief and happiness now that he took this new step in his self-growth journey. He was so happy in fact, that he felt like holding your hand again. You both looked at each other and smiled, hearts racing and faces blushing.
â
You were in his Mojo Dojo Casa House, chatting and giggling like teenagers. Ken started asking about you, very interested in everything you had to say. He was fascinated and wanted to know more about you, and soon he caught himself asking more intimate things. âSo⌠do you have a girlfriend? Or⌠a boyfriend? I mean⌠I donât know, are you even into Kens? I meanâŚâ he stuttered as you laughed.
âNo, I donât have a girlfriend or boyfriend⌠in fact, I never had a significant other beforeâŚâ
Kenâs blue eyes grew wide, mouth slightly agape as he slid closer to you. âOh⌠really?â
âI mean⌠Iâm not a Barbie, not a Ken⌠not sure Iâm even supposed to have someone.â You suddenly grew a little sad at that, being so vulnerable with Ken all of a sudden.
You looked down in shame, but Ken quickly lifted your chin up so you looked at him. His expression was fond, eyes roaming through your face and finally landing on your lips. He grew closer and for a moment you actually thought he would kiss you.
But he didnât, he stopped and moved back, suddenly a bit confused and anxious. âHa⌠Iâm⌠Iâm sure youâll find someone eventuallyâŚâ he said with an awkward smile.
How it ended:
Ken was desperate when he asked Allan for help. He was so confused, so⌠eager. He had never felt this way before, not even with Barbie. You were different, you listened to him, inspired him to become a better person, spent your valued time with him and you two had so much fun together! He felt genuinely happy around you, and in the last times you hung around, he felt the deepest urge to kiss you. This desire had been growing the more he tried pushing it away, so he decided to ask for help.
âI mean⌠(Y/N) is not a Barbie, and Iâm Ken! It doesnât make sense, right?â
Allan looked at him with slight confusion as he responded. âI mean⌠there are truly no rules, itâs not like thereâs a book written somewhere that Kens should only date Barbies.â
Ken was left starstruck because I mean, Allan was right. There are no such rules in Barbieland, that was just something everyone assumed one day. âThank you, Allan!â He hugged his friend before heading out.
â
Ken invited you on a beach date night and you happily agreed. You two sat on the sand as you watched the waves, but he only had eyes for you.
âBeautiful, isnât it?â You wondered about the sea and the stars. âYeahâŚâ he answered, not looking at them.
Slowly, Ken moved his fingers to touch yours, and while turning your head to look at him, you let your hands completely meet.
Your heart beat fast as he smiled that gorgeous smile of his, cheeks rosy and eyes glowing blue as he finally spoke. â(Y/N)⌠can I ask you something?â
âOf course, Ken.â You smiled in anticipation.
He looked down, doubting himself a bit before looking up again and almost whispering. âCan I kiss you?â
At that moment everything made sense, and you couldnât help the big smile on your face as you spoke. âOf course!â
He matched your smile and squeezed your hand in excitement before turning away a bit and fist-pumping the air, then turning back with a more collected expression on his face.
Ken stared at your mouth before leaning in, and you leaned as well. Slowly, you met in the middle and finally kissed. Gentle, he grinned against your lips.
The first kiss was quick, but as you stopped and looked into each otherâs eyes, he came back crushing onto your mouth, not wanting to be separate anymore. Ken took your face into his hands and you grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.
You both needed to breathe eventually, so you parted. You took the opportunity to ask a very important question. âKen? Would youâŚwould you like to be my boyfriend?â
Ken gasped, his eyes growing wide and teary as he held your hands in his. âThat would be the coolest thing to ever happen to me⌠yes!â
The two of you hugged tight, and for the first time in forever, everything felt just right.

middle of the night

latter part is not edited and written during the middle of the night (intended)

leave me love? (tips!)
***
almost everyone will agree that finding something to dislike about hani nakamura is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
you remember the first time you overhear that statement at lunch in the cafeteria, and you laughing a little to yourself. you canât even blame the gossiping students because thatâs just how nice hani is.
however, you should have known that when trying to find a needle in a haystack, you begin to doubt its existence until you feel a prick and youâre bleeding and the needle already got you.
the pain youâre currently feeling is far akin to a small prick as you replay the conversation you had with suna at the convenience store in the middle of the night again and again and again.
âwhat did you want to talk about that couldnât wait until tomorrow?â he had asked.
you had taken a deep breath before replying, the words came out of you quickly, as if your bravery for confessing has a timer. âwell, i⌠i have something to tell you. itâs actually a bit selfish of me to say this to you but⌠i like you as more than just a friend, rin, and itâs been a while now. iâm sorry for suddenly springing this unto you but i just have this need to confess or else i would feel like exploding inside. you donât have to say anything; you can choose to interact less with me from now on but yeah, i just really needed to get it off of my chest.â
suna had surprised you with his reaction. he had a deep frown on his face and given you an accusing look. âdo you really not want me to be happy?â
âhuh?â
âfor fuckâs sake, y/n, i know about your little game! hani told me everything. you dropping all the hints all those months ago, fueling whatever sort of feelings i had for you, playing with my heart, when you only want to use me to be closer to osamu. i even chose to ignore those because i know weâre young and inclined to do stupid, bad things. but damn! canât you just leave me alone?â
and you were so dumbstruck by what he had told you that you were only able to look at him in disbelief.
âcat got your tongue?â he bitterly asked before breaking eye contact.
you shook your head after you had processed what he said and with a defeated sigh, said, âweâve been friends for two years. did you really believe i was that kind of person? why didnât you ask me to confirm it? and most importantly, i grew up with the miyas so why would i even use you to get to osamu, who, by the way, is like a brother to me? you know what, suna? maybe youâre right. i should leave you alone. i donât deserve to be around someone who would easily believe lies about me.â
you feel tears roll down your cheeks as you force your mind to stop the reel of what would probably be the last time you ever talked to suna. not for the first time, you wish to never have called him and asked to meet. oh, to only have sucked the pain up and not confess to him. maybe the heartbreak would be less than what you have to deal with right now.
the concerned look on his face as he met you in the convenience store doesnât matter anymore; neither does the fact that he was wearing the hoodie youâve always asked him to give to you.
hurt, betrayal, and anger all brew inside of you. you canât even fully process everything. hani, who everyone sees as the sweet and kind person betrayed you as a friend. suna, who had captured your heart, hurt you for believing that you are capable of doing such terrible things. and to top it all, anger at the both of them and mostly anger at yourself for walking away from suna before he can even respond to what you said to him.
*
suffice it is to say, the next time you see suna is extremely awkward. itâs at volleyball practice and thankfully, youâre not the sole manager of the club, making it easier for you to avoid any interactions with him.
âare you feeling better now?â osamu quietly asks you as he takes the water bottle from your hand during one of their breaks.
you reply with a nod but before you can let go of the bottle and escape from the twin's prodding questions, the grey-haired boy uses it to pull you closer to him. âyou didnât respond to any of my messages yesterday and youâre avoiding suna like heâs the plague.â
you click your tongue. of course he would notice. the same way he knew the reason of your breakdown in his car after that dinner. iâm not an idiot, y/n. i can see through your lies during all the time âsumu and me teased you. you actually really like sunarin.
âi swear iâm fine, âsamu. stop being a worry-wart for me, okay?â you forcefully take your hand from the bottle and you swivel away from the twin only to meet eyes with suna.
itâs obvious heâs been watching the interaction and your chest tightens, thinking about what he said the other night. once you notice him begin to walk towards your direction, you quickly turn to tend to aran. thankfully, the coach calls for the practice to resume not long after.
you usually admire suna during practice (when youâre not too busy taking notes) but just seeing him at the present brings back memories of what happened so you try to avoid looking at him. those same memories keeping you up at night. suna, at your favorite convenience store in the middle of the night, looking at your exasperatedly and shooting words that hurt you while wearing your favorite hoodies of him.
the coachâs whistle echoes in the gym, breaking you out of your sorrowful thoughts. âsuna, are you not feeling well? you seem a lot distracted.â
suna sighs heavily and you barely miss your co-managers whispering to each other how there are rumors that suna recently got in a lovers' quarrel with hani. your heart is thumping wildly as you watch him approach the coach who is sitting very near to where youâre standing.
âsorry, coach,â he says as he scratches at his nape. âyes, iâm not feeling well.â he then shoots you a not-so-subtle quick look. âcan y/n accompany me to the clinic?â
*
he knows itâs a foul move to involve the coach and the team in the middle of practice but suna didnât know what else to do. youâve blocked his number and all his social accounts. his attempts to talk to you in person have all been futile. it's not helping that osamu refuses to talk to him about you.
so, really, he was left with no choice.
however, you remain awfully quiet as the two of you walk towards the school infirmary, a good distance between your bodies. he wants to talk to you but he doesnât know where to begin, especially that this is very different from all the times that he has walked you home in the past where a silence is most welcome, oftentimes interrupted when a stray cat passes by.
when you arrive at the clinic, the nurse is out so you take seats at the waiting area. ây/nâŚâ he finally says after a few moments pass with your deliberately ignoring him.
you still refuse to look at him and instead play with your hands. the action calls his attention towards your wrist and it breaks his heart to see the absence of the beaded bracelet that you always wore ever since he gave it to you after he won it in an egg claw machine game a year ago.
ây/n, please⌠will you hear me out?â suna doesn't mind that there obviously is desperation in his voice,
your jaw clenches a little as your fingers pause. he imagines the internal conflict within you before you finally let out a soft sigh. âokay.â
suna doesnât miss a beat. âiâm sorry. iâm so, very sorry, y/n. i talked to hani and she admitted to everything. still, it does not change the fact that i hurt you by believing in her lies. i donât know what happened to me and i have no excuse for myself.â
when you finally look at him, he almost wishes you continued to avoid his gaze. gone is the warmth that he always sees in your gaze and in its place is just hurt and sadness. âi just keep thinking⌠that all these months, during our every interaction, at the back of your mind, thereâs this thought that iâm a bad person. and iâŚâ your voice breaks as you swallow. âi donât know, suna. why didnât you just talk to me?â
why? itâs the same question heâs been pestering himself with for the past two nights. how could he let that happen? why was he easily deceived by haniâs lies?
âiâm sorry, y/n,â he apologizes again, aware of the despair laced in his voice. âi wish i can take away the hurt iâve caused you.â
your teary eyes mirror his own. âi donât know if i can trust my so-called friends ever again. iâm just confused and sad and hurt, rin.â
the slip of his nickname buries the hatchet deeper in his chest and suna just wants to scream. he wants to say that he broke up with hani shortly after she confessed about the lies. but that wouldnât change anything now, and itâs not like you would care. not knowing what else to do, he moves to sit beside you and carefully reaches for your hand.
when you donât resist, he begins to rub this thumb against your palm as he gently maneuvers your head against his shoulder. his chest tightens as the sleeve of his uniform quickly dampens.
no more words leave either of your mouths, the silence enveloping you as he lets you cry against him, just like how he let your tears stain his hoodie the first time you bumped into each other at the 12th convenience store in the middle of the night over a year ago, the warmth of his shoulder comforting you from your pet hedgehogâs passing.
only this time, your tears are caused by him.
*
âsuna, youâve been a close friend of miya atsumu ever since high school, how are you feeling about his engagement?â the reporter asks behind the camera.
you watch suna wear that signature smirk of his. âof course iâm happy for my friend, and i wish a lot of good luck to his beloved.â his answer causes a few laughter from around him.
âhow about you, then? youâve been extremely secretive about your love life.â the reporter follows up excitedly.
suna raises an eyebrow. âi thought you said you only have one question for me?â he shakes his head before beginning to walk away. âbut all i can say is that iâm happy.â
the reporter fumbles a little but he has lost suna already, so he moves on to one of the other players from the national team.
youâre about to switch channels when a small figure joins you on the couch. âmama! was that papa?â
you turn to your son â a complete miniature of his father â and ruffle his hair. âyes, sweetie.â
he breaks into a toothless grin and goes to the center of the living room to dance around, all the while singing about how his papa is in the television.
meanwhile, your phone rings and you answer it quickly. âhey.â
âhey. did you watch?â
âyeah⌠you were so great. though i have one question for you, and i promise itâs one question only.â
rinâs soft chuckle at the other end of the line makes your heart flutter. âso you saw the interview? go on, whatâs your question, love?â
you take a quick but deep breath before asking. âdo you ever regret agreeing to keeping our relationship secret? like, nobody knows youâre married and with a kid, and most people think youâre just some volleyball-obsessed person whoâs going to grow old alone.â
he laughs once again. âi didnât know people think that about me,â he mocks surprise. âbut to answer your question, no. iâd rather people believe iâd grow old alone than curse me for being a jerk who once hurt the love of his life when they were teens.
"i also donât want people to know that i spent my senior year in high school trying to woo you and earn your forgiveness. how you forgave me and we became friends again but then you rejected me when i confessed after graduation? no way.â
youâre also laughing now, reminiscing on the past. how, after that day in the clinic, you and suna drifted for the rest of sophomore year. you had wanted space and he respected that.
you never got closure with hani, her family coincidentally having to move to tokyo after that school year ended but you think thatâs for the best. you didnât know what you would have told her anyway.
âso all this secrecy because you donât want people to know that youâve been rejected?â the teasing in your voice makes you giggle yourself.
âyes,â he replies playfully. âand also because i want to protect you! i remained loyally single for years until you finally agreed to a date during your senior year in university. god knows some crazy fans might curse you for making the suna rintarou wait for you!"
âand whose fault is that?â youâre smiling crazily into the phone now. âalso, since weâre spilling stuff here, how about you also tell the world how you knocked me up three months into our relationship?â
your eyes drift to your three-year-old son whoâs running towards the sounds at the front door. itâs when you notice that rin has dropped the call. he crouches down to kiss your son at the top of his head before covering his ears. âagain, iâm sorry about that accident honey, but look at our little angel, isnât he a cutie?â
you cross the small distance from the couch to the doorway. finally reaching your husband, you kiss him on the cheek. âthe world is missing out on seeing your cute mini version.â
he wraps an arm around you as you both watch your son whose attention has gone back to the toys on the carpet. âwhatâs with all these hints, love? are you saying youâre finally okay with giving the public a glimpse of our happy life?â
you nuzzle your head against his chest. âmaybe yes. maybe no⌠maybe later whenâŚâ
âhmm?â
you donât respond for a while. âsay, rin, do you want to drop by the 12th convenience store later around midnight once our son is asleep? i already asked osamu to come over to watch him.â
rin hums against you. "that's random, though? and how come you get 'samu to agree to babysitting favors so easily when i have to literally boost the sales of his onigiri?"
"silly, silly, sunarin," you singsong as you slap him playfully. "so, what do you think? wanna go to our convenience store later, at the middle of the night?"
"okay. do i need to bring the big eco-bag for the snacks we will be hauling?"
you untangle yourself from his arms as you make your way to your child. a perfect guise to hide your grin. "actually, no. we'll just be buying a little item."
*
in hindsight, you should have known better.
atsumu miya, despite being a professional volleyball player and recently getting engaged to the nonchalant sakusa kiyoomi, still likes to drink alcohol.
here you find yourself again at a long table, your friends from the volleyball club in high school gathered along with some of their plus ones. onigiri miya had closed early today for the private event. as osamu miya worked on the food with the help of his new assistant (whose eyes can't stop admiring her boss, but you'll tease osamu about that later) his blonde brother is already almost done with his first bottle.
he's telling the story of how they pranked one of their teammates that he and sakusa had broken up as a way of sharing their engagement. when the poor younger boy learned of the joke, he had ignored them to the point that atsumu had to reach out to kageyama to get him to talk to him.
"i told you it was a stupid idea and yet you didn't listen," sakusa adds to the ending of atsumu's story.
you laugh with your friends around the table, your lips opening up in a yawn once the laughter dies down. rin, ever the observant lover, lowly asks if you're okay, gently squeezing your hand he's holding under the table.
"i'm fine," you smile sweetly at him and his eyes soften a little. upon seeing he's still a little bit worried, you peck his cheek. "don't worry about me."
"you should be getting some rest," he says.
he must have said it louder than he intended or maybe you two just did not notice the table going quiet. atsumu speaks. "rest? suna, we're still not at the age to be tucking in bed at 8:00 PM. you know what we actually need? drinks!"
somehow, he gets the others to drink as well. shortly after, osamu finishes with the food preparation and his assistant, along with kita and aran, help set the table. the group happily eat and converse, sharing updates about their lives and reminiscing on their high school days. suddenly, you feel someone glaring at you.
"what?" you curiously ask atsumu whose eyes are looking at you with as much focus as he can muster with his tipsy state. "you're cheating!"
"huh?" your brows are furrowed and you turn to rin beside you but to your surprise, he's laughing. everyone looks at the both of you, half-intrigued and half amused.
rin kisses your forehead before taking the glass on his left and sipping. "he meant this, love. idiot surprisingly notices i've been drinking for us."
you're pretty sure you're already blushing. "oh."
"ah ha!" atsumu looks proud. "so i was right? come one, y/n, it's no fair! why are you not drinking? omimi and ginjima are the designated drivers tonight so no need to hold back!"
your cheeks still feel warm. "actually, i can't... i shouldn't have been drinking three weeks ago..." you exchange a look with rin and he nods at you. before you can continue, atsumu cuts you off with an excited squeal. "suna rintarou! how dare you keep this secret from me! and you, y/n, i thought i'm your brother!"
"for goodness' sake, 'tsumu, calm down," suna responds to the blonde, we actually only found out a week ago."
atsumu pouts, his cute drunken antics entertaining everyone at the table. "fine, forgiven. but i better be the godfather this time around!"
*
despite ginjima's insistence to drive you and rintarou home, you both decline his offer. after all, the walk home for onigiri miya restaurant to your home is not that far and late night walks with your rin is always welcome.
the moon and stars provide the two of you light as you walk home, your arms linked together. the night's breeze is nothing against rin's warm body. "love, i'm gonna tell you something but please don't panic, okay?"
his sudden sentence surprises you but you hum in agreement anyway.
"we're being followed by some media."
"oh."
he stops in his track, urging you to do the same. he looks down at your face, eyes holding gentleness one would not have expected from the stoic middle blocker. "do you want me to tell them off?"
you surprise yourself by saying no. rin cocks his head slightly before you respond. "i think i'm okay with a little bit of our private life being shared to the world."
he studies your face for a moment before smiling. "okay."
"okay?"
"yeah," he breathes close, hand already cupping your face. you get on your tiptoes as suna rintarou leans down and kisses you, but not before softly whispering, "i love you, y/n."
camera shutters be damned.

EDIT: i made a few small edits since i posted this
hi i might be beating a dead horse but this rant has been building up since seeing the first comments on reddit. spoilers under the readmore + i didn't want to eat your entire dash
you're all free to like or dislike or love or hate The Coffin of Andrew and Renee mod all you want but something that's been driving me absolutely bonkers in criticism of it is people saying Renee was wholesome or loving in it. i have a lot of mean words about it actually but i want to keep it civil and just say: you are absolutely completely incorrect in every capacity.
the key difference between canon gravecest and Andrew's and Renee's relationship in this mod is Renee's abuse is completely different than Ashley's. the mod is quite arguably a LOT more fucked up than the source material when you pay attention to it!
(and also one of the mcs is a milf yada yada)
this mod at the end of the day is a fanfic. it's an AU fanfic you get to play. it's a really well written fanfic! not the same as the original, and there's definitely parts that are weaker (the first half of the 303 lady scene after the summoning was really weak before it became my favorite part of the mod) but it does a decent job at exploring this story with a major plot of divergence years before the canon start of the game and how that's affecting Andrew.
Andrew is considerably more submissive when things get rough around Renee than he is with Ashley. the thing about gravecest is that it's codependent. Ashley doesn't really force or make Andrew do anything: Andrew desperately wants to blame his problems on Ashley but deep down he's just as, if not even more fucked up than Ashley actually is. this is something we could debate and discuss for hours but: this dynamic is lost with Renee, and for good reasons.
Renee was the one that forced Andrew to be the one who raised his sister. and then Renee forcibly separated them and told him if he ever had problems come to her.
Andrew is dependent on Renee in a way Renee clearly is not in the mod.
Renee's life has kinda gone to shit. getting Ashley locked up didn't magically solve her problems: her life is actually worse than in canon. her doormat husband finally found the balls to leave her, Andrew clearly resents her deep down, she's locked in an apartment and her tie to Andrew is literally the only thing she has left. and boy is Andrew infinitely worse off for that! Renee actively controls every aspect of Andrew's life one way or another, and while I dislike the first half of the Room 302 scene the ending shows that contrast.
Andrew basically mentally shuts down whenever Renee gets serious about weaponizing his dependency. Renee is somebody who forced him to raise his sister, then forcibly ripped that person from her to make herself the one he's dependent on.
this scene was really fucking haunting to watch because she actively weaponizes using what she did. she was the one responsible for letting shit get so messed up when he was a kid. and then he uses it to hurt him: and then continues to weaponize the fact she "saved" him to make him back down.
"And... maybe I said some things that weren't called for myself."
^ the exact line that sold this characterization of Renee to me. this is immediately after her exploiting his trauma, trauma she is very much directly responsible for. this isn't a happy scene. this isn't a wholesome scene. look how tired Andrew looks compared to his mother.
even when she's blatantly, clearly in the wrong she won't admit responsibility. it was Andrew's fault for acting like a child. it's his fault for lashing out when his trauma is exploited by Renee and she has to further manipulate and abuse the trust she forcibly installed into him to make him back down. but maybe she said a few bad things too. she didn't mean it though. Andrew should know better though.
anyone with half a brain can tell this is horrifically fucked up and a very different kind of control and confrontation Ashley uses: Ashley just likes to get in his face and initiate a verbal argument regarding Andrew's hypocrisy more other than not and then said arguments run their natural course. Renee repeatedly uses textbook abuse and gaslighting tactics to force the person dependent on her to back down. Anderw is not naturally "a dutiful son," as the mod describes him, Renee made him become that and regularly abuses that fact.
Renee is a lot more gungho about being a cannibal and is extremely attached to a story about a monster that eats everything that threatens her child because Renee has lost everything else of value in her life and is forcing Andrew to be close to her, constantly picking needless fights at the idea of her own son leaving her side and leaving her alone, and emphasizing that he owes it to her to stay by her side and actively controls him to ensure he doesn't leave.
like, you can feel however you want. i've seen some people hate it. i've actually seen some people who like it more than the actual game itself. i certainly have a few criticisms of it, mostly tied to its format inherently, but i'll defend it unless chapter 2 drops the ball.
but every time i see someone comment "Renee is really wholesome and loving in this mod and that's really OOC for her," or when the criticisms mostly boil down to the art style i think i die inside a bit and i cannot take that person's complaints regarding this mod seriously in any capacity. anyways thanks for listening to my insane rant if you read this far manifesting chapter 3 soon my crops are dying

This Week in BL - I'm All Over the Place, and so are the shows
Organized, in each category, by ones I'm enjoying most at the top.
Nov 2023 Wk 5
Ongoing Series - Thai
Last Twilight (Fri YT) ep 4 of 12 -Â The Jasmine flirting thing was so darn cute, I canât. I love these two so much.Â
The Sign (Sat YT) ep 2 of 10 - Oh itâs great. Flirting. Fighting. Fate. Murder. Eventually weâll add fucking. A trifffecta. I could do with a bit less training but whatever. And we have learned our boys are laboring under a geis. NO SINGING. Otherwise this ep was actually pretty flipping great.Â
My Dear Gangster Oppa (Thurs iQIYI) ep 6 of 8 - Ooo kidnapping and the sides are suffering betrayal. Also Tew kills again. I like that they donât shy away from the fact that heâs a killer and Guy was genuinely scared. And then Tew had to break up with Guy to protect him in Noble Sacrifice (tm). How Cdrama of him. Rough ep all round.Â
For Him (Thurs iQIYI) ep 1 of 10 - Itâs not exactly good, but itâs better than I was expecting, and I tend to cut pulps a lot of slack out the gate. The plot is more interesting, Him is a sweetie (I like that in a seme)Â and our uke has both game and pluck. Heâs a femme bitch, I LOVE that in a boy + we never get it femme in the lead. The acting is not great, sound all over the place, but there are no terrible sound effects, the soundtrack is okay, and our high heat came with a side of BJ + condoms, and no one has sung (yet), so I think I like it. Itâs giving me Big Dragon vibes.
Linguistic moment:Â
Him used Him/ter for pronouns & ha. Very flirty. Nail used rao back a little bit of a challenge. (No pom and didnât use his own name either.) Gauntlet thrown. Our baby ends up with rao/kao but I donât think thatâll stick. Him is getting Phi out of him if it's the last thing he does.
Bake Me Please (Mon Gaga) ep 2 of 6 - The charactersâ shared backstory is no surprise but I do like this show. Those little private smiles as they find family. Those lingering gazes as they find romance. Lovely. Also Shin wants to marry into Peach's family so bad, Iâm reminded of Laurie in Little Women. All that said, itâs never the top of my list to watch for some reason.Â
Cooking Crush (Sun YT) 1 of 12 - How could I have forgotten how stunning Off is? Meanwhile⌠I love Gunâs character, he's so cute. But this show is a bit too comedic for me. I wish GMMTV were taking this script seriously. Sorry Neo et al Iâm not sold on the sides. In general? I donât love it. I donât hate it either. In other news, I think I'll go make toast.
Pit Babe (Fri iQIYI) ep 3 of 14 - I love the sides and unholy amount and in general it was fine this week probably because I decided to do a trash watch.
Twins the series (Fri GaGa) ep 5 of 10 - Iâm getting fatigued. Also holy random sex Batman. Where did these extra sides come from? Iâm confused. Tonal pingpong going on, and not just in the shower. Â
Middlemanâs Love (Fri YT & iQIYI ep 4 of 8 - Finally a direct confession Jade canât avoid. Will things get a bit more serious?
Absolute Zero (Weds iQIYI) ep 10 of 12 - I donât know why I watch this show, the acting is great, but it just makes me cry.
Playboyy (Thurs Gaga) 3 of 14 eps - What a bonkers thing this is. Very kinky and also just odd. I do keep thinking about the pinks with it. Similarly, there doesnât seem much glue holding this thing together, dried cum of course but not glue. And despite what some kinksters say, the one cannot replace the other.
My Universe (Sun iQIYI) Fake Love ep 15 of 24 - This is a weird installment. Too stalker and random blackmail for me. But not as bad as abuse and death, I guess?Â
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
A Breeze of Love (Korea iQIYI) eps 7-8fin - Not much of a love triangle in the end (you just found out he is actually gay and broken hearted = an opportunity not a tragedy). Meanwhile I like that the high school break up was just mr insomniac's fault. He got jealous and angry and petty. No miscommunication just an asshole kid. I did find this show a little slow, even though it was your standard length KBL. Odd that. They are very cute boyfriends tho.Â
All in all:
Tsundere insomniac grump reunited with his sunshine jock ex (human sleeping pill) who now hates him. Basketball is also involved. While the simplicity of a reunion plot makes this more cohesive than most KBLs, it is a tad stiff and slow, never managing to lift itself out of "pretty and pretty enjoyable" - I liked it but I donât think Iâm going to remember much about it. 8/10
VIP Only (Taiwan Fri Gaga) ep 3 of 10 - It has the feel of a one act, with such a limited cast and location, which reminds me of KBL. Still watching these two quietly fall in love and process affection through their own art forms is sweet. This is a very soft gentle show.Â
Sahara-sensei to Toki-kun (Japan Fri Gaga) - Toki, a delinquent but pure-hearted kid falls in love with his handsome phys-ed teacher, Sahara. This is very much my trope but very manga campy, which I donât love. Iâm quite torn. Toki is an idiot but a lovable one. But do I like it?
It's Airing But...
The Whisperer (Sun ????) 10 eps - Thai horror BL that ALSO involves cheating (what joy is mine). He has dimples (My Ride) but I don't think even dimples can motivate me to watch. You can tell me how this goes if you can find it.
SHADOW (Thai Gaga) 14 eps - I'm not wild about Thai horror (or horror at all) even one featuring Singto and Fluke. I'm holding off. If told it's good, I'll binge.
7 Days Before Valentine (Weds WeTV) 10 eps - Giving me Luminous Solution vibes, so I'm waiting to binge if told it's safe.
Beyond The Star (Weds iQIYI) 8 eps - House of Stars meets Boyband. I was NOT impressed with ep 1. Waiting to be told if I should bother.
What Did You Eat Yesterday Season 2 AKA Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2 (Japan Gaga) 10 eps - I find this series more fun to binge, so I'm waiting until it completes its run.
In case you missed it
One Room Angel (Japan Gaga) finished. Adaptation of Haradaâs manga (which I did not like) about a clerk who (nearly) dies and ends up cohabitating with an angel. I was warned that the ending would not work for me so I decided not to bother.
My Biker BL short movie from Wayu supposedly premiered Nov 27 on their YouTube Channel for Members to watch. I couldn't find anything further. The MDL description makes me think it's not for me so I bother.
Next Week Looks Like This
Short list of the December offerings.
12/9 Cherry Magic (Thai remake) YouTube 10 eps
12/9 Behind the Shadows (Korea movie) ??
12/14 Dear Kitakyushu (Thai/Japan movie) ??
12/23 Dead Friend Forever (Thai horror) iQIYI
Original 2023 forthcoming BL master post (see comments, some are inaccurate, NOT KEPT UPDATED). With the end of the year upon us I'll do an "announced for 2023 but never happened list" soon.
THIS WEEKâS BEST MOMENTS
I love these dudes so much, and make no mistake they def dudes. On point banter, my dudes. (Sign)
Yes they are cute but so far that's all this show has going for it. (Middleman's Love)

DIABOLIK LOVERS CHAOS LINEAGE ebtenăťWonderGOO Tokuten Drama CD: âThe Vampireâs Every Day: Board Game Edition ~ Ruki VS Azusa VS Kino ~â
Original Title: DIABOLIK LOVERS CHAOS LINEAGE ebtenăťWonderGOOçšĺ
¸ăăŠăCDăă´ăĄăłăă¤ă˘éăŽćĽĺ¸¸ăăźăă˛ăźă 硨~ăŤăVSă˘ăşăľVSăă~ă
Translation: Here! Huge thanks to @otomehonyaku for her hard work âĄâ¸(Ë áľ Ë )â¸
Audio: Here (CD owned by me). Please do not reupload anywhere.
Starring: Ruki Mukami (CV: Takahiro Sakurai), Azusa Mukami (CV: Daisuke Kishio), Kino (CV: Tomoaki Moaeno)
Plot: Kino downloads a new app based on a board game. As he starts the game, he is suddenly sucked into his phone by a powerful force. Meanwhile, at the Mukami manor, Azusa asks Ruki for help with installing the very same game, resulting in the two of them experiencing the same mishap as Kino. The three boys now find themselves in what they quickly deduce to be the world of the game they were trying to play. Now they must (try) to work together to win the game in order to get back to the real world.
My Thoughts: Below the cut. They are mostly centered around Ruki but honestly what else would you expect from me by this point?
I hope you all enjoy â¸(ď˝ĄË áľ Ë )â¸
Anyone who's listened to the other CDs in this board game series will know that they are absolute gold. Particularly the one starring Shuu, Reiji, and Subaru. Truly Dialovers crack at its finest.
While I don't consider this CD to be as funny as the one I just mentioned, nor as funny as a lot of the other silly ones in general tbh, I still had a good time listening to it, and genuinely laughed at some points throughout. And ultimately that is what I wanted to get out of the CD in the first place, so I have no complaints. Hopefully it got â or if you haven't listened to it yet, gets â at least one laugh out of you as well!
(Spoiler-ish thoughts below)
I found the dynamic between Ruki and Kino to be pretty entertaining. These two do NOT get along, as to be expected with how clashing their personalities are and how their previous interactions have gone. They piss each other off pretty consistently in this CD, even focusing on arguing with each other while facing an active threat. I enjoyed their bickering and digs at each other but I did feel bad for poor Azusa who just wants everyone to be friends and also y'know deal with aforementioned threat. I'd probably say that he acts the most mature here, most of the time anyway.
Speaking of Azusa the interactions between him and Ruki are also great but for the exact opposite reason. Their relationship is so wholesome and sweet, and it's so obvious that Ruki has a soft spot for his baby brother (which Azusa does try to take some advantage of near the end lol).
The highlight of the CD though for me is when Ruki tries to capture the golden rabbit by telling it in the sternest most commanding tone of voice to jump into his arms. Sakurai's delivery here is Perfect (what else is new tho) and made even better by the fact that it's directed at a literal rabbit. I also love how genuinely puzzled Ruki is that his foolproof tactic fails. Stellar stuff that honestly made this CD 100% worth buying.
It does feel as though - in true silly tokuten fashion - Ruki's IQ has dropped a few digits, but it doesn't bother me much in the context of these CDs. After all they're not meant to be taken seriously, but rather for the listener to simply enjoy the chaos and absurdity.

i'll brainrot with you about dottore and his sick! s/o:
clearly with s/o's conditions it's not optimal to go outside in the freezing cold, but one day the snowfall is so much more gentle outside and something like this is a rare occasion in snezhnaya. would dottore indulge them (of course with plenty of precautions taken) or would he rather not risk it at all?
your writing paints such vivid pictures in my head and i honestly love the comfort and warmth your work brings :]]
⥠đđ§đ¨đ°đ˛ đđđ˛ đđ˘đđĄ đđ¨đđđ¨đŤđ âĄ
synopsis: Your poor health and fragile condition have consistently gotten in the way of various activities for many years. But that was going to change today, as you were going to take your first step into the flaky goodness of pure, white snow.
includes: dottore w/ gn! reader
notes: Related to the posts under my fragile reader tag. Thank you very much, I'm very glad my writing makes you happy! This was so cute, I originally planned for it to be only a couple hundred words but I went overboard and decided to make it a full-blown piece.
You used to enjoy the concept of cold. Growing up in a hot country had you deeply curious about the kind of weather that would warrant people wearing dozens of layers, bundling up to the point where they were barely recognizable. You wanted to go somewhere that snowed one day, you once told your lover as he sat at his desk, tinkering with Archons knows what. Dottore only grunted in response, saying that if research led him there, you would accompany him. As a matter of fact, there were some Ruin Guards he wanted to take a look at in Dragonspine. You hummed, enjoying the moment as you continued to flip through the picture book.
But now, you couldnât bring yourself to like the cold. You think that if you werenât sick, youâd enjoy the weather in Snezhnaya much more, but the cold permeates your body even though youâre inside the lab. (Dottore had to force Pantalone to give him more funds to install more heaters.) You didnât like to even walk through the halls of Dottoreâs complicated maze-like lab because they were too big, making the cold air suffocate you all around. (Unless youâre accompanied by a clone. Somehow, Dottore had implemented a feature into his clones to heat up and become warm, so when youâd cling to them, you wouldnât be cold anymore. You enjoyed it thoroughly because the reactions of the clones were cute.)
Many days, you spent the time looking out the tightly sealed window at the snow. Despite living in the snow-covered nation for so long, you had never sunken a foot into the powdery fluff. When Zandik was recruited into the Fatui, you were unconscious during the trip because your body surely would not be able to handle such an extraneous journey. How would it feel, you thought? Youâve frequently asked some of your favorite clones to tell you how the snow felt. (You felt slightly embarrassed asking your real lover.) Apparently, most of the time the snow was deep and crunchy from continuous snowfall. If you werenât careful where you walked, half of your leg could get swallowed underneath! Many children liked to form things like balls out of the snow and play games with them. But sometimes, very rarely, the snow lightens and melts, depending on how the Tsaritsa feels. Itâs a beautiful scene, apparently.
You had lost faith in the Gods long ago after your mysterious illness suddenly struck you (Zandik never cared about them in the first place), but you hoped and prayed to any force that was willing to listen to you - please let the snow ease up, just a bit. It was a bit hypocritical since you did not like the cold, but you still desired to experience it like a normal person. You could bear the pain if only to have fun for a couple of minutes. You did not tell your lover this; one, because you knew it was impossible with your condition, and two, you did not want to bother him with your frivolous wants. But it seemed like you were too obvious with your intentions, as one of the first things youâd do in the morning was drag yourself out of bed, despite the great amount of energy it took, to go to your favorite window and peer outside.
âYou seem to be quite interested in watching the snow lately, arenât you?â The deep voice behind you made you jump.
âZandik! Oh, you scared for there,â you pressed a hand to your heart and quickly took a seat that was already permanently placed near the window, already tired from the past few minutes. Your lover walked toward you, hands carefully placed behind his back, each step calculated. You couldnât help but find some happiness in that - the way he walked was always so commanding and enchanting somehow, hypnotizing too.
âThe weather here is quite different from Sumeru,â you observed. âI canât help but be intrigued by it.â
âIs that so? It is quite boring to me. The landscape is always the same and it is rather hard to conduct experiments outside because of it.âÂ
âHeh, itâs always the experiments and research with you. At least try to enjoy it,â you teased, rolling your eyes at him playfully. Dottore shook his head and gently flicked your forehead, causing you to pout.
âFurthermore, the cold isnât good for you. I believed you didnât like it, anyway,â Dottore scoffed.
âI know,â you said softly. âBut I still want to experience it,â the last part was a mumble that was meant for yourself, but Dottore heard it anyway, making his eyes widen as a thought began to quickly form.
âDo you⌠want to go outside and see the snow?â
The fact that you were caught made you bolt up straight and quickly try to deny it. âNo, no, Iâm fine. It was just a fleeting thought,â you quickly reassured him.
Dottore doesnât know why he didnât realize it sooner. Of course you would be bored, waking up every day to the same redundant routine, watching everyone go about their daily lives while you sat there, helpless to do anything besides wait for him to cure you. Of course you would want to do something new, after hearing the same repetitious lines of how youâll get better soon, how heâs working on a new medicine, how itâll all be over soon, but when was âsoonâ coming? How long has the envy of others been eating you up? The thought of that made his smile slip.
A soft goodbye snapped him out of his thoughts. A clone had come to administer your daily medicine and get you ready for the day. Dottore quickly put his usual smirk back on and nodded at you. Your gentle smile and a wave bid him farewell, as the clone wrapped his arm around you to support you as you walked away. But Zandik was still thinking. When was the last time he had seen you with a big smile? A big, goofy one that stretched your lips beautifully and made your face hurt from smiling that hard. The answer was, he did not know. The most he could recall was from his Akademiya days, where you would greet him with one of those grins every morning, always a ball of energy.
The fact followed him throughout the day as he worked. The mere idea that it was bothering him so much was simply absurd. But he could not forget about the times his clones has reported to him about the times you cried. When you refused to leave your room some days or didnât want to eat. He was not one for any type of comfort, not when his hands had committed some of the most wicked acts to man. How could he be, when the first thing on his mind was to hurt others, but the last thing he wanted to do was hurt you?Â
He did not know what to do, where to place his hands or if saying something would make the situation worse. He did not know what to do other than let you rest your head on his shoulder, allowing you to take his hand and place it on your head, giving him the okay to stroke your hair. He let you babble to your heartâs content and awkwardly wiped your tears away, for when he looked into your painfully bleak eyes that were once filled with life, he did not think he could refuse you.
It was an odd feeling for him. He took pleasure in seeing the pain of others, delighting at the moment when they lost all hope. He found it amusing when others took a stand against him, only to see their expression fall when they realized it was fruitless. But you? The thought of that happening to you made him⌠He had to do something.
â
One day you woke up, ready to live out another normal and boring day. As you sleepily rubbed your eyes, you noticed something was a bit off. Usually, you could hear the wind howling and the snow slamming against the windows, even if it was just a little bit. But there was nothing. As you lay on the bed, collecting enough energy to get out of bed, a glimmer of hope grew within you. With a great push, you heaved yourself out of bed and made a beeline to the window. You sat down on the chair, and pulled the curtains to the side, prepared to be disappointed, but what you saw blew you away.
The snow had melted significantly, leaving a moderate and easily walkable layer on the ground. The snowfall had reduced greatly, and it no longer pounded on the window. Instead, it flew down calmly from the sky, which was still gray, but it was a beautiful, hazy kind of gray. Now that there werenât mass amounts of snow blowing your view, you noticed there was some kind of river around the lab. It was still frozen over, but the ice sparkled beautifully and reflected the snow-covered trees. Speaking of trees, you didnât know it was possible for such boring things to look so pretty. Copious amounts of snow rested on the limbs, occasionally slumping to the ground with a thud, and the process kept repeating as snowfall continued.
Your jaw was slack the whole time, as you continued to take in the breathtaking scenery. Snezhnaya just got ten times better, you thought.
âI see youâve seen the change in weather, [Name]. It seems to be to your liking.â
âEep!â you started at the assertive voice that was practically in your ear. Dottore had snuck up on you while you were too entranced by the view to notice him. âYou need to stop doing that,â you scolded him.Â
His deep chuckle tugged at your heartstrings. âTo think that after this many times, my experimentâs results have not changed. Truly fascinating.â
You tried to ball your hands into fists to prevent yourself from blushing. âA-Anyway, you should have woken me up earlier! I didnât think this was possible!â you fretted, still in utter shock at this.Â
âThat, I could not do. You know your body requires a great amount of rest.â You couldnât argue with that. He was right.
âNow, is there something you want to do?â It was as if he had somehow planned for this to happen.
You fiddled with your sweater, trying to find the words for your outlandish request. âSooo, um, I know this may not be possible, but can I go outside? I know with my health and stuff it may be hard but⌠just for a bit, please,â your voice got quieter and quieter towards the end of your sentence. You bit your lip in anticipation and nervously kept your eyes trained on the rug-covered floor. The few seconds of silence that passed felt endless.
âYes, you may-â
âReally?!?!â
Your legs were swinging happily, and there it was. Pearly whites peeked out as you grinned cheerfully and you threw your hands up into the air. The smile he had not seen in far too long.
âBut, I will accompany you, and you must stay by me at all times. You must follow all of my directions as well. Do you understand?â
A walk with your lover too? âYes, yes Iâll do anything you ask!â you easily complied. You gathered all of your energy and squeezed your partner as hard as you could (which, wasnât that hard, but to you it was) taking him off guard. You buried your face into his midsection and refused to let go, your words of thanks being muffled from being so close to him. Dottore was stiff at first but then eased into your embrace, fingering a cord of your hair.
You were feeling a burst of energy from this exciting news, so you had to do one more thing. You released him, and when you looked up, you could see that same self-assured, confident smile that you loved. Before he could speak again, you tugged on his blue ascot with as much force as you could summon, pulling him farther down to your level allowing you to smash your lips onto his. Catching him off guard allowed you to be in control for a couple of seconds, but it is quickly relinquished as your lover takes over quickly, effortlessly deepening the kiss. When the two of you parted, he had an almost smug grin on his face, displaying his pointy shark-like teeth.
âMy my, quite eager, arenât we? I have not seen these kinds of surprises since those old days.â
âWell,â you pecked both of his soft cheeks again, âyou know I always make sure my doctor knows how I feel.â At that point, there was a knock on the door and one of Dottoreâs clones came in to help you with your morning routine.
âGo about your day. I will come to get you when itâs time.â You smiled and squeezed his hand once more as you rose from the chair. Dottoreâs hands returned behind his back as he watched the clone and you leave.
âPerhaps I should start to add new variables to my experiment⌠the results are quite interesting indeed.â
â
You could not focus on anything for the whole time. Your mind was all over the place thinking about how satisfying it would be to sink your foot into the fluffy goodness.
Apparently, Dottore had designed some kind of special jacket for you to wear, along with a scarf, gloves, earmuffs, boots, and more. It had some kind of built-in heater somehow, which made everything consistently warm including your body. Normally youâd listen to his rambles on how he created it and such, but you were too giddy at the thought of freaking snow. (And also how he took the time to make all this stuff for you. It probably only took him a short amount of time considering how intelligent he was, but the action warmed your heart.)
There were quite a few clones in the lab area watching you. You think that they seemed happy for you. One of them was helping you put the gear on while your lover set down some ground rules. Zandik also had on a big fluffy coat, which made him look rather cute. You kind of wanted to fit yourself inside of it with him.
âFirst, you must stay by my side at all times. Youâll probably have to hold onto my arm to steady yourself. We will be following a path. This means no straying in any other direction, at least without my permission. Of course, if you feel that you canât handle the weather anymore, let me know immediately. Do you agree to abide by these rules?â
You held back a sigh and a laugh. You knew that all of these precautions were necessary but they were still a drag. Plus, the way your lover said it all seriously as if your very existence was on the line made you want to giggle.
âYes, Zandik. I agree to all of your rules,â you huffed as the clone finished zipping up the jacket. âMy common sense is still intact, you know.â
Even though he did not show it at all, Dottore was the slightest bit uneasy. There were many things he did not understand or know about your illness. Would the sudden change in the environment trigger you? He was not sure, but he already prepared for the worst. If anything, it would be a learning experience too - to see how much your body could handle. He was ready to take notes in his head.
âCome here.â
You slowly trekked your way toward him, getting used to the feel of the long boots. It was hard to imagine wearing these every day, but you soon fell into your loverâs chest as he began to stroke your hair.
âWell then, let us go,â he wrapped a steady arm around your waist to help you balance. âWatch the lab for me,â Dottore directed the other clones as they waved goodbye to you.
They were so cute, to be honest. Especially the ones from the Akademiya days.
â
You did not realize the extent of how big Dottoreâs lab was until now. There were so many paths and rooms you walked by that you had no idea existed. What was beyond those doors? Some questions were better left unanswered. You were just letting your partner guide you as you clung to his side (the walking was a lot) until you reached a great, big door with a keypad.
âAre you ready?âÂ
You eagerly nodded.Â
âAnd you do still remember the-âÂ
âYes, Zandik, I remember everything you told me,â you groaned. âPlease just open the door already.â
âPatience, [Name],â he chuckled. âI look forward to seeing your reaction.â He let go of you and typed a whole long password on the keypad. And in an instant, loud noises exuded from the door as it began to open from the sides.
The first thing you felt was the puff of cold air hitting your cheeks, instinctively making you raise your arms to cover it. In a couple of seconds, the door opened completely and you could feel the light shine down on you. You put your hands down, and the snowy, outside world was laid before you.
It was majestic. The snow has managed to be untainted by any other substances, allowing it to be a pristine white that covered the landscape. Slowly, you took a few steps forward as Dottore carefully watched you, until you were standing at the edge where the floor ended, and the snow began. You took a quick glance at your lover and he motioned for you to go on. And so you did. You stepped into the snow.
The first thing you noticed was the crunch of the snow under your boots. It was oddly satisfying. And the way your foot sunk so easily into, it kind of reminded you of quicksand. But you could kick it around so easily, yet you could see it was hard enough to be used to form something solid. The cold hit you like a ton of bricks, but you were doing everything in your power to withstand it. The enhanced gear from your partner helped a lot. But, all you could say was wow. You were starting to get a bit jealous of the people who could walk in such surroundings every day with ease.
Dottore on the other hand was quite satisfied. The scenery was not what he found appealing. Rather, it was you. He found no interest in such worldly things, but your reactions were ever-changing and amusing to him. A snowflake fell on your nose and melted. You wrinkled your nose at the unfamiliar feeling. And he couldnât help but chuckle at that.
âHold onto me. The road is quite icy and slippery. You need to be very careful.â Zandik linked his arms with you, and you gratefully reciprocated.
You could not keep your eyes off anything and everything you saw. You loved Sumeru, but Snezhnaya was starting to grow on you. It was beautiful. But what you loved, even more, was talking to Zandik. You two had not had this much time together in far too long. He enthusiastically prattled on about his experiments, his creations. He even told you about his clonesâ journey to Sumeru, and how the almighty Traveler was powerless against them. You indulged him of course. You had always loved his voice, and you found it rather endearing when heâd go on his rambles.
Dottore intentionally made sure the pace was slow and steady, so as to not rush your body or make you too tired. But of course, even after only a bit of time passed, you needed to rest. Thankfully, the two of you reached some kind of gazebo with a couple of benches inside. You had no idea this existed, and it seemed Dottore didnât either, which didnât surprise you. That man probably only cared about the entrance and exit to his lab.
The bench was cold but you did not care. Having your lover with you for this long already made you feel warm and fuzzy. Furthermore, youâd be crazy not to take advantage of the situation. You called his name and before you could make a move, he spoke.
âHow do you feel?â
âHuh?â
âHas your heart rate increased since the exposure to the snow and cold? Do you feel light-headed? How easily can you move your arms and legs?â
âO-oh, well⌠um, I feel cold. My heart is a bit fast from the walking, but nothing out of the ordinary. My legs hurt from the walk too⌠but Iâm used to it.â
âInterestingâŚâ Zandik put his hand to his chin as he seemed to think. You sighed, and shifted closer to him, beginning to run your hands up his coat, which clearly grabbed his attention but he watched you silently. Your hands reached his soft cheeks and brushed over the cold exterior of his mask.
âYou know, you should take this off more often,â you suggested as your hands began to creep under the sides of the mask. âThereâs no one aroundâŚâ you hummed. Dottore made no move to stop you so you easily slipped the mask off, revealing his sharp crimson eyes boring into you, and scars from long ago. Of course, you couldnât help but smile at the face of your lover.Â
You moved in to press your lips against his, pleased at how you could now gently trace your fingers over his scars. No matter how long you knew him, he was sensitive to touch around that area, so you always made sure to be careful.
It was an odd, but strangely good feeling, Dottore thought. One he did not know he missed, as you began to pepper kisses along the top of his face. It had been a while since the two of you had kissed for so long, which was a result of your lack of liveliness due to your illness. It seems the new surroundings really did help you. He would have to keep that in mind.
âYouâre so cute,â you giggled. He frowned at that and grabbed both your wrists, pushing your back onto the bench, and making you yelp.
âEnough of that. I believe that all of this has gone to your head,â Dottoreâs domineering tone was back again.
âI was just- eep!â Your words were cut short as Zandikâs lips began to mark your neck.
âThe human bodyâs temperature can go up a substantial amount just from kissing. Would you care to experiment the limits of that with me? You would be the perfect test subject,â you felt his unhinged grin spread against your neck.
âAfter all, I wouldnât want you becoming too cold now, hmm?â His impossible strength easily overpowered you as he moved to hold both your wrists with one hand, while his free one rested on your thigh.
As you relinquished yourself to him, your lips were claimed an innumerable amount of times, a clear reminder of who you belonged to.
â
You had to turn in early for the night. The miniature adventure was so, so fun, and it felt like you kicked your illness in the ass for a bit, but now you really had to get some rest to recover what little strength you had. Surprisingly, Zandik was there with you this time, instead of one of his clones.Â
â...Iâm sleepy, Zandik.â
âOf course. Your body has experienced much more physical exertion than usual. It needs time to relax.â You sighed, letting the warmth of the blankets begin to take you to dreamland.
âHey, Zandik?â
âYes, [Name]?â
âRemember when we were in the Akademiya, and during the night, Iâd go down into your bunk bed and sleep with you? HeheâŚâ
âYes, I remember rather clearly, the intrusion of my privacy and theft of my pillows,â he sighed. The first time you did that, he did not expect to be entranced by the sunlight cascading onto your peaceful face, the fluttering of your eyelashes, and the occasional quirk of your lips as you clearly dreamt of something good. But he had no knowledge of how to handle these feelings, so he shoved you off the tiny bed, rudely waking you up. You ended up walking around the Akademiya with a bump on your head after that.
âI was trying to give you hints, Zandik. You were just dense,â you pouted. âHey, you should come and lay with me for a bit. Like the old days.â
Dottore was hesitant. It wasnât that he didnât want to, rather, he was so incredibly busy, especially after today. To be more precise, he felt that time not spent on finding a cure for you was time inefficiently used (most of the time.)
You tugged on his sleeve pleadingly. âJust for five minutes, until I nod offâŚâ
He couldnât bring himself to deny you, as he slipped under the covers with you. The softness of the mattress, plush blankets, and pillows that had your scent almost made him do a double take. It had been a long time since he was in a bed in general. Perhaps just a few hours of rest wouldnât hurt. It would boost his effectiveness drasticallyâŚ
You immediately scooted your body towards his and pressed it into his, nudging your face into his chest. He came to rest his hand on your head, while the other was loosely thrown over your waist.
âI miss you,â you softly uttered. He did not respond, nor did you expect an answer - what could he say anyway? The soft stroking on your head was more than enough for you at this moment, and it quickly lulled you to sleep.
âThank⌠you.â You were out like a light, while your lover looked at you, absentmindedly fiddling with a strand of your hair.
It was no simple task to make this happen. But as a scholar, of course, he was able to negotiate. For once, it wasnât for his own gain, but for you. The results? It was a complete and utter success.Â
Dottore could not lie, he felt as though he was back at the Akademiya with you. He remembers the two of you walking down the hallways, your chatty and sweet self a stark contrast to his rather irritated and know-it-all aura. How you would hug him from behind late in the night as he worked at his desk, begging and whining for him to go to sleep as you both had long lectures in a few hours.
He admittedly wants to see you take the first step into a raging blizzard. He wants to see you brave the cold with ease. He wants to see you swing your sword without abandon again, not afraid to take on anyone in a verbal or physical fight. He wanted his assistant back: the one who would be ready to jump down the throat of someone who dared to question him, the one who organized his notes in the most efficient manner.
The God of Wisdom once told him that his research was insulting, contradictory to the rules and ways of life. Now that he looked back on it, he found it amusing - even a Godly being was held back by such drivel. But it did not matter to him. There was no rule or barrier he wasnât willing to cross in order to cure you, as he had already done it multiple times with no remorse. He would oversee your absolute recovery personally.
After all, there were many more snowy days to come.
Bonus:
âYou know, Arlecchino, I saw the most interesting thing the other day,â a soft voice echoed throughout the room.
âHmm? What was it?â
âI happened across our lovely Doctor going into Her Majesty, The Tsaritsaâs chambers. For what, I wonder? HeheâŚâ
â...I guess that [Name] person truly does mean something to him, if he was willing to go that far.â

Being Bokutoâs Pregnant Partner:
Going Into Labor
Timeskip! MSBY Kotaro Bokuto x GN! pregnant Reader
Warnings: Pregnancy, swearing
***everyoneâs pregnancy experience is different. This is a combination of my experience as well as personal friends accounts
WC: ~2k
AN: not sure why I wrote this but it just kinda came to me đ
also I know the picture isnât timeskip Bokuto but also, tell me this ISNT timeskip Bokuto đ¤
Honestly, this is probably the worst case scenario. Youâd prepared yourself for everything leading up to this point, the bags were packed and ready, the car seat was installed, youâre postpartum popsicle pads were marinating in the freezer. You had been ready for this baby to come, but what you were ready for was your water to break an hour before an MSBY Black Jackals game.
Your husband, Kotaro Bokuto, was the Jackals winged spiker and you knew exactly how much he loved the game of volleyball. In fact, you probably knew this more than most. At your wedding, Kotaro insisted that you include âvolleyballâ wherever you could in your vows. So while most people said âin sickness and healthâ, you said âin sickness and health, through volleyball seasonâ. Not that any of that bothered you, Kotaro loved his sport and you had grown to love it too. You loved going to games, cheering your man on and even traveling with the team occasionally. So when you and Bokuto planned to start a family, you tried to plan accordingly and out of volleyball season. However, things donât always go as planned, which is why you were knee deep in play off season with a 38 week belly the size of an entire volleyball team.
âShit!â You cursed as you went to your bedroom to change pants and try to form a plan of attack. Your doctor had told you that if your water had broken that you needed to try to get to the hospital within a few hours. So far, you hadnât had any contractions but you knew that your situation could change at any moment. While you were pondering your next move, your phone rang. Picking it up, you slide your finger across the screen and answered.
âHey Yn, I just wanted to let you know what seats Iâm in so you donât have to wander around,âKeiji Akaashi, Bokutoâs best friend said.
âUmm slight change of plans Keiji, my waters just broke,â you respond, teeth gritted.
A short pause followed by a sigh broke through the receiver as Akaashi spoke, âdid you tell him yet? Have you called the hospital?â You could tell he was walking, hearing voices and his breathing increase as he made his way out of the stadium.
âI just changed my pants when you called. I was about to call the hospital. Iâm not having contractions right now so I think we are good,â you repeat as Akaashi gives you a hum of confirmation.
âAnd youâve called Bokuto?â He repeated as you grew silent, you lack of a response all Akaashi need for confirmation.
âYN?â
You had been thinking about how to approach the subject of your water breaking with your dear husband. While of course you knew Bokuto would want to be there, you also knew heâd be upset if he missed his game, especially since you werenât in active labor.
âI know I need to tell him Keiji but he doesnât need to come to the hospital right now. He could still play in the game and if things change, Iâm sure Meian would let him leave. Thereâs plenty of subs that can take his place,â you say, finishing up the last minute tasks before you find a way to head to the hospital.
Silence filled the call as Akaashi thought through your plan. He knew Bokuto as well, if not better than you did and he knew your plan was thought out.
âOk Yn, how about you call him and Iâll come take you to the hospital and stay with you until he gets there?â
You sighed in relief as you sat down on the chair in your kitchen and nodded to yourself, âThanks Keiji! Text me when you get here and Iâll meet you downstairs ok?â You bid Akaashi farewell as you pulled up your husbands contact and hit call.
It rang twice before the cherry voice of your hyped up hubby filled the air.
âHey hey hey baby! Did you need help finding Akaashi?â He cheered, the background noise of the locker room filling the call.
âHey love, umm so please donât panic,â you say through gritted teeth as the receiver goes silent, âmy waters broke at home. But- BUT Iâm not in labor and Iâm feeling fine! Akaashi is coming to get me and take me to the hospital.â
Silence continued to fill the phone as you pulled your phone away from your ear to check that the call was still connected. You had never heard Kotaro so quiet in all your life, not even during his worst emo mode.
âKotaro? Are you still there?â
Suddenly a panic âWHAT?â sounded in your ear as you pulled the phone away. You shouldnât have been surprised as you heard Kotaro shouting and his teammates gather around him.
âBokuto what the hell man chill out!â You heard Inunaki shout into the phone. You could hear the incoherent ramblings of your husband in the background as his teammates tried to calm him down.
âPut the phone on speaker!â Someone shouted as suddenly several male voices boomed.
âHello? YN, whatâs wrong? You good? Bokuto is pulling his stuff from his locker and we donât know whatâs going on,â Meian asked as you sighed deeply and palmed your face. You knew this would happen, which was why you thought carefully about even telling Kotaro in the first place. Sure you wanted him there by your side but you also knew your labor might be long and that your husband wasnât exactly know for his patience.
âHey Shugo, first off, Iâm fine but my waters did break. Iâm not having contractions and Akaashi just texted me saying heâs here. Heâs taking me to the hospital,â you repeat as you grab your big and keys.
âWell shit, umm ok what do you need from us? The game starts in 45 minutes,â he questions as you head to the elevator, feeling more water leak from between your legs. Thankfully you have put a pad on when you changed your pants.
âOk first off, donât panic. If Kotaro wants to play in the game he can. Iâll probably be at the hospital for a while before anything happens so we have a lot of time,â you say as Meian silently listens, âI donât think it will do any good to have a hyper Kotaro just standing around while the hospital is getting things going.â
âMakes sense Yn, ok Iâll talk to him and see what he wants to do. Iâll have coach keep his phone on the bench, if you need anything, call him ok?â Meian repeats as you nod, heading into Akaashiâs car.
âThanks Shugo, I appreciate it!â
âNo problem Yn! Good luck!â He says before hanging up the phone as Akashi begins to drive off the hospital.
Meanwhile, your husband is freaking out, and ready to run to the hospital if he has too. He wants to be there, wants to support you in anyway he can.
âBokuto, YNâs fine. Akaashi is taking YN to the hospital as we speak. Itâs going to take a while so, if you want, you can play in the game and then leave for the hospital,â Meian suggests as Bokutoâs head shots up to meet his eyes.
âI CANT JUST LET YN ALONE!â He screeches as Sakusa rolls his eyes, stepping forward to sit next to him.
âBokuto Yn is fine. Trust me, just because their waters broke doesnât mean the baby is coming right now. My partner and I were in the hospital for 2 days before our kid was born,â he said trying to calm his feral teammate down.
âBut what if YN has the baby and Iâm not there?â Bokuto sobs, big golden eyes glazing with tears.
âDude thatâs not going to happen ok? Akaashi has Yn and heâs going to call if anything happens. If it does, you can leave right away. Itâs literally 10 minutes to the hospital from here,â Atsumu says, trying to reassure his spiker, âplus if we win this game fast, then you can get to the hospital sooner.â
Bokuto perked up, his eyes drying instantly as he stood quickly, âwell come on then! Weâve got a game to win!â
It had been 2 hours since youâd arrived at the hospital. The doctors and nurses had been fussing over you so much that you hadnât even had time to turn on the Tv to watch your husbands game. Akaashi had left quickly to grab something to eat while you were getting set up.
âCan you turn the TV on please? My husband is playing in a game and Iâd like to watch if possible,â you asked the nurse as she politely nodded and grabbed the remote, handing it to you.
You listened to the drum of your babies heartbeat as you quietly relaxed into the bed, the nurse starting the pitocin to help further along your progress. You flipped through channels, unable to find the game as you silently pouted. The nurse looked down at you as you continued to search.
âWhat does your husband play?â She asked.
âProfessional volleyball. Heâs a spiker for the MSBY Black Jackals,â you happily hummed as you continued to search for the game.
âOh I knew I recognized your surname! Your husband is Kotaro Bokuto right? Sorry to tell you this sweetheart but that game ended 30 minutes ago,â she responded as you looked at her with confusion. As you went to speak, the door of your hospital room burst open as Kotaro stood in his MSBY gear. Your eyes widened at your husbands state as he raced to your side, grabbing your hand and squeezing.
âKotaro? What the hell?â You shouted, shocked at your husbands state as Akaashi silently came into the hospital room.
âHey hey hey baby! How are you doing? Are you ok? Howâs the baby?â Kotaro shouted, ignoring your questions as you looked from him to Akaashi. Akaashi had sat down, shaking his head back and forth.
âIâm fine Ko, but umm back to my question,â you chimed.
âOh the game? Yeah we won in straight sets,â Kotaro cheered as he pulled the chair close to you.
âKotaro you won three sets straight in an hour and a half? Is that even possible?â You questioned as Akaashi nodded.
âBokuto was unstoppable YN. First two sets finished in under an hour.â
âThe last one took longer because the other team was stubborn but I blasted through with liners and cross shots. Plus Hinata and Sakusa were on point too!â Bokuto smiled, âI would have been here even faster if I wouldnât have been stopped by the reporters. I told them you were in labor and that I had to go!â
âAnd you didnât think to maybe shower or change before you came?â You noted as your husband looked down at himself, seemingly not noticing his disheveled and sweaty appearance.
âOh I totally forgot about that!â He grinned as you rolled your eyes and Akaashi palmed his face.
âWeâll go and shower in the bathroom ok? Iâm not having you hold our baby when you are gross and sweaty!â
âBut YN- what if something happens while Iâm showering?â He pouts as you grab his hand and squeeze.
âKo, I promise nothing will happen, now go before I need you,â you prompted as your husband jumped up and ran to the bathroom, grabbing his bag on the way. The door shuts and those shower sounds as you let out a breath you didnât know you were holding.
âWeâre you nervous he wouldnât get here YN?â Akaashi asked as you shook your head.
âNot really, I was more nervous Iâd get a call from Meian saying that he went full emo mode during the first set and that did turn on the TV to see my husband sulking on the bench,â you laughed as Akaashi chuckled.
âI donât think anything but winning that game and getting to you crossed his mind YN,â Akaashi responded and smiled, happy your husband was finally with you.
âNah YN, I really donât think anything could bring that guy down right now. Heâs on cloud 9.â
âYouâre right Keiji,â you sighed as you waited for your energetic husband to flock to your side.

TS3 vs TS4 Features - Supernatural
I saw @moonbiscuitsims' comment here about how EA added "way more features" in their TS4 occult packs, and I wanted to talk about it in depth, cuz that's a misleading statement. Y'all know TS4's my trigger.
Cuz yes, on paper, EA offers a LOT of stuff in TS4 packs. But the saying goes: as broad as an ocean and as deep as a puddle. đŹ QUALITY, versus QUANTITY, which is crucial for replayability, customization, variability, and ultimate longevity. And another thing is the TIMEFRAME that that content was released. Sure, if it takes you 10 years to develop/dripfeed your frikkin game, ofc you can add more content over more packs; than if you'd just stuck to ONE dedicated pack, developed it in 1-2 years, and given people arguably BETTER, if not MORE content.
My gut reaction's to say EA had BETTER be offering more content! đ¤ Not even to justify the ridiculous pricetag or anything, but for the simple fact that TS4's supposed to be NEXT GEN. It's SUPPOSED to be bigger & better than everything that came before it. Why are we sitting here for 10 years with TS4 if it ain't gonna increase ANYTHING but my rising blood pressure & trust issues?!
So Imma just examine TS3 SN in comparison with TS4's packs, and give my take on what's been going on, from 2012 (SN EP) to now.
Missing Features: TS4 Fairies
A fairy was the very first sim I ever made in TS3 back in 2009 (my avatar sim, Sakura). Watching the SN announcement trailer for the first time dang near made me cry. TS4 could never; moving on.
Missing Features: TS4 Zombies & Toadsims
TS4 Tragic Clowns are a W for the apple juggling & costume. I think EA was lazy by slacking on the clown just cuz he's already dead in Sunset Valley; and I guess they don't expect players to resurrect his ghost. SN EP did nothing to actually improve/expand him, just creating the alchemy Clown Potion; I guess to better integrate fishing the Clownfish into the lore.
TS4 Vampires GP (2017)
This is an easy one. I've said since TS3 Late Night EP (2010) that TS3's vampires are utter dogtrash, and the SN EP did eff all to patch/improve them, and I will die on that hill (until someone figures out how to give convert TS4's functional coffins & vampire fights & special FX). Compared to every other occult, I have more mods installed just to try to fix how effing busted & stupid vamps are; and these sparkling Twilight dumb AF bloodsuckers STILL get on my dang nerves.
IMO, TS4 Vampires is hands down the best pack EA ever made for TS4. 10/10, the attention they put in that pack outclasses darn near everything else they did until TS4 Seasons. Undisputed W, yes. đ
TS4 Realm of Magic GP (2019)
Disputed W. I gave it an 8/10 at BEST, cuz magic/fantasy's a win, but I am disappointed. If this had been a home run for EA, I'd've shut my dang mouth, ISTG. But alas. I went on a long AF tirade against RoM when I realized that a lot of its so-called "new" features were things we could already do in TS4, with a flashy coat of paint--let alone things TS3 & the SN EP did, and better. Some things I didn't mention though:
Muggles who ask spellcasters how to do magic are sent on a fetch quest for Magic Motes, which is EXACTLY what the ITF EP Time Traveler occult Emit Revelart makes normies do to, finding Power Cells to learn how to use the Time Portal.
The Witch's perks/ranks system works just like the Vampires one, so kudos to EA for not fixing something that ain't broke I guess.
The Spells: At MTS I actually broke down what each of TS4's spellcasters do that's largely nothing sims couldn't do in TS3, even before SN came out (via SHT Genies or SSNS Aliens, or the Store).
TS3 Witches (let alone other lifestates) can do most of this either through alchemy or inherited features from older TS3 packs. This was a huge RoM dealbreaker for me, as I'd been hoping for WAY more innovative features in TS4's spells--the whole point of Spellcasters--than just an elaborate set of cheats. TS3's Witch's main features are fewer, but far more cohesive, IMO. (Granted, NONE of the packs holds a single candle to the GOAT that is TS1's Makin Magic, which had WAY more features than TS2, TS3 & TS4; and was CHEAPER. But I digress.)
There's no unique features with TS3/TS4 wands; they act the same way; the effects are just different, and TBH I'm not a fan of either--I wish wand/magic FXs could be modded in different colors at least (like BLACK đ). But I DO like that in TS4 they can duel for rewards.
TS4 brooms do EFF ALL in a closed world; EA made them exactly they way they were in TS2, with zero innovation. (IIRC kids can't even use them--EA's hatred for kids & elders ALMOST matches MY hatred of EA.)
IMO beekeeping doesn't count, cuz TS3 included it as a small feature for alchemy ingredients in the SN EP, while TS4 integrated it far better in SSNS to work with gardening, which is genius.
Speaking of SSNS, there's the Weather Stone that only appears if you have both SN & SSNS, so occults can conjure magical weather effects over the whole world. (I'll talk about the best perk under Crystals SP.)
Familiars are the certified W for me with RoM. They're the best & most unique & most well-thought out & feature of the GP, IMO. â¤ď¸
Extra TS4 features I think are supremely cool are spellcasters' books floating whenever they read anything. And their cauldrons have much cooler animations, and I'm so jealous that y'all can cook food in them; EA should've added that to the Store Cauldron, although I guess I understand why they didn't in the SN EP Alchemy Cauldron.
A lot of RoM's features are wrapped around Glimmerbrook. Access to Glimmerbrook comes with the Glimmer Stone key--and I WOULD use that as a segue into the Crystals SP, but I'll hold off. I already vented about Glimmerbrook in my Werewolves GP rant--but I'll get to that in a minute, too. The bigger issue is what even constitutes a TS4 "world"--those non-customizeable tiny AF clusters of tiny AF lots and huge swaths of decorative set dressing--let alone the Diagon Alley ripoff EA loves promoting like I was born yesterday and never saw Harry Potter. GORGEOUS realm, of course, like many EA worlds are. But they're largely just set-dressing, which irritates me to no end.
TS4 Paranormal SP (2021)
I've ranted & raved about Paranormal before: 7/10 at best.
TS4 Seances with the crystal ball work very differently from TS3's Soothsayer's Crystal Ball, which wasn't about banishing ghosts, but improving progression for SN's Witches & Fortune Telling (career). Fortune Telling's NOT a ghostly job, although the boho aesthetic carried over to TS4 Paranormal. (On top of the fact that they promised this whole NOLA Voodoo vibe, but delivered ZERO cultural accurate features reflecting ANYTHING from Haitian Voodoo, wtf? It's all hippie boho New Age BS--why TF does the tutorial ghost look more like Johnny Depp and less like Dr. Facilier, I ask you, EA.) Granted, some of the interactive objects are nice, like the calming dollbaby & magic candles to purify lots--kinda like TS3 incense. But again: 1-trick ponies. Yes, the animations look great, but crystal balls are typically for divination, asking spirits about the past/present/future, not removing haunting poltergeists, so I don't really get it. Stylish & gorgeous! But GENERIC AF substance-wise.
IMO, TS4's Ghosts are an L across the board; all the way from the base game--that bafflingly launched in 2014 WITHOUT ghosts until they were patched in a whole month later after everyone rose a stink (IIRC TS4 kids can't be ghosts!?)--to present. EA's been over/course-correcting from that gaffe ever since, with like double the amount of Death types than TS3. I DO NOT like how TS4 ghosts colors are tied to Eeemotionnsss~! (more like they're a sentient Plumbbob). TBF, kudos to TS4's smoky cloudy effect when ghosts appear. But the lack of unique deaths & ghost types in RoM (aside from Spellcaster Overload & the Night Wraith) made me roll my eyes, as SN EP's ghost types are some of my faves (ITF & SHT are also my top 3).
IIRC it was the SN patch that unlocked all types in (basegame?) CAS to make playable Ghosts. SN's Philosopher's Stone allows sims to summon new playable Ghosts (and ofc allows for transmutating cheap objects into gold ingots--more on that later), or it can just kill you and make YOU the new ghost, LOL.
But as for features, sure, TS4 ghosts have more interactions--though they're all pretty, rather than scary (vs TS2 ghosts, which were SCARY). TS4 ghosts lost the HORROR to just be silly/goofy or just CUTESY--especially the little spectres from Paranormal.
Speaking of horror, I can't talk about ghosts w/out bringing up TS3's AMB EP, cuz the Ghost Hunter (profession) is the real parallel with TS4's Paranormal Investigator (freelancer). In TS3, they actually stuck to their promised main premise (Ghostbusters). Overall, TS4 Seances are nowhere near as fluid as TS3 ghostbusting. In TS3 you can run all over the world using gidgets-gadgets to detect/fight ghosts & sprites, not just inside haunted houses, but anywhere they happen to spawn (ofc inc. graveyards). You're not just locked to a lot/house the player already knows is haunted (cuz you just toggle Haunted Lot to trigger the feature--SN's Ghost Gnome object isn't exactly the same, but it does spawn hauntings on the lots you put them in). ANY TS3 indoor/outdoor residential/community lot can randomly get haunted during a Ghost Hunter's shift; and you never know which one it'll be, or what kind of shenanigans will happen--EVIL ghost or just some sprites--which skyrockets replayability & keeps things fresh & interesting.
Functionally, Paranormal had no right to be that dang good for a Stuff Pack. That was a Game Pack; IDKY EA insists otherwise; esp. when it offered more & better things than some actual GPs. I'm confused. However, a serious problem TS4 has is that it gameifies everything to the point that TS4's numerous features lose their spontaneity, and just become rote--BORING. The ectoplasm everywhere just becomes another mess in your (haunted) house you have to clean--CHORES. On top of me not liking TS4 ghosts' look & vibe (and I HATE TS4's Bonehilda). Quality over quantity, EA!
TS4 Werewolves GP (2022)
Speaking of ghosts, waaaay back in 2020 I told the spirits precisely what I wanted from a potential Werewolf dedicated TS4 pack. Did they listen? HAYUL NAW. So in 2022 I said everything I had to say about the Werewolves GP, and accepted the fact that EA's INEPT.
Do TS4's wolves have MORE features than TS3? YES ofc (even in 2012 everyone complained that Witches & Faeries got the lion's share & Werewolves got shafted--they're basically glorified Familiars for Witches/Alchemist to find collectibles--more on that below). But was most of it GOOD features though? Debatable! I LOATHE the 2 wolf packs, which was what I'd most looked forward to; plus the whole world's aesthetic was ugly homeless-grunge, without a single bit of creativity or originality--only EA could make monsters as terrifying as werewolves effing cartoony hipster squatters. 𤌠7/10 at best.
TS4 Crystals SP (2024)
These crystals are ugly, EA. Which is weird, cuz the basegame TS4 gems & esp. space rocks are GORGEOUS. I have no idea which vision-impaired dev at EAxis thought these nasty looking opaque poorly-painted rocks were pretty.
Features-wise, granted, having TS4's bonafide Gemology skill from the Crystals SP's nice, instead of TS3's basegame hidden Collector skill. But the functioanlity's largely the same: cut more, unlock more (which I prefer to cheat my way through--TS3 thinks I have time for all this gameplay, LOL). (Not to mention all the extra features TS3's Aliens, Simbots & Plumbbots have when interacting with gems, space rocks, or metals.) TS4 only got 10 gem cuts for 27 crystals (=270), (+25 metals); compared to TS3's 16 gem cuts for 28 gems (=448), (+16 metals with their own separate ingots). Of TS4's 10 cuts, the Skull Cut is the ONLY one I think looks better (ignoring the atrociously flat textures ofc) than TS3's (which TS4 copy/pasted--no agates, no crystal ball, wtf).
The Garden Gnome cut isn't unique to TS4, as TS3 has several craftable (glass-only) Garden Gnome cut from the Glassblowing Machine (more on that soon).
The only TS3 gem that genuinely affects sims is radioactive Tiberium from the WA EP, so more features is definitely a plus. The best addition is TS4's Charging Grid feature--I LOVE that TS4 crystals can be imbued with magic energy--it's like TS3's Store Crystal Tree, ITF EP's magic crystal plants & the SN EP Mood Lamp all rolled into one. @greenplumbboblover's WIP Interests & Hobbies mod brainstormed integrating that functionality that back in 2020.
The functionality of the TS3 SN EP Gem Cutter & the TS4 Crystal Tree are similar, though ofc the tree's wallet & eco-friendly; and it's a plant, not a hunk of machinery, so it naturally has that going for it.
There's also the SN-SSNS Weather Stone, which gives werewolves the ability to summon a Hunter's Storm, raining a hail of gems, rocks & metals over the whole world for easy loot farming. (The best perk, though my fave is the Faeries' Reviving Sprinkle for gardening.)
Aside from SN, TS3's real equivalent is actually the Prism Art Studio Venue's Artisan skill. Cuz the REAL seller's the jewellery-making. There's ~100 CAS items in Crystals SP (plus 30+ regular Build/Buy mode objects). At $10, the Crystals SP is a steal, at least when compared to the BONKERS $20 tag on TS3's Prism Art Studio at the Store (2014). IIRC the Glassblowing Machine newly added 16 craftable CAS items & 13 craftable glass objects (as SN already gave us the Gem-Cutting Machine & AMB already gave us the Widgets work station); and 8 Build/Buy objects (inc. the goated L-shaped "spiral" stairs). It also added 5 craftable Perfumes for sims to use.
So while the Crystals SP added NICE features, I wouldn't say they added MORE features. Rather, they added more content: Quantity. But as for Quality, I think TS3 beats it out--the Prism Studio's a effing ripoff, but AFAIK it added features TS4 still doesn't have yet (craftable glassblowing & perfumes, spiral stairs); and the objects it did add are pretty nifty.
Timeframe-wise, we got the 2014 Prism Art Studio's Glassblower 2 years after the SN EP's Gem-Cutter; 5 years after the 2009 basegame. Compared to TS4's wait for the Crystals SP 2 years after Werewolves, 3 after Paranormal, 5 after RoM; and a whopping DECADE after the basegame launched in 2014. Wtf, EA?
Still, I'd say the Crystal SP's a 7/10 (there's not enough gem cuts, the gems textures are ugly, and most of the features were lifted from things TS3 had innovated 10+ years earlier).
TL;DR
Quantity =/= Quality.
EA's been taking way too long releasing packs to have the nerve to present debatable content--it should be goated releases EVERY time; esp. since everyone agrees TS4 is easier to create content for, so much smaller in scale/scope, and with an infinitely larger budget & fanbase than The Sims franchise ever had. There's zero excuse for EAxis' mediocrity, when TS3 was churning out EPs like it's life depended on it: SHT, SN, and SSNS all came out the SAME EFFING YEAR. 2012 was LIT.
EA, you suck.
