if you don’t know the historical significance, it was one of the earliest 3D models, made in 1975.

now it’s essentially the Windhelm Scream for computer graphics folks, hidden as easter eggs in shows like Toy Story and the Simpsons.

the meta of The Digital Circus is all about old computer graphics and programs. and Pomni and Gummigoo soaring through a field of Utah Teapots paired with the ethereal synth music gives me this sense of wonder and nostalgia that early computer games also invoked.

rewatching gravity falls for the first time since release—spotting so many small foreshadowing details i never noticed. stan screaming when he first saw the wax statue of himself, gideon exclusively calling stan “stanford,” the room that dipper and mabel fight over in the body swap episode clearly being fords, stan grabbing the glasses off the table and polishing them sadly. i know there’s probably more i missed, too. it’s such a good show.

Others have said something about this before but for me, my favourite drivers for Gortash being into The Dark Urge are so linked to him thinking he wants one thing, and finding he desires something else.

Gortash wanting to tame the wild beast of Bhaal, and finding instead that he desires to submit to it. That he finds safety in the killer who says they will kill him last.

Gortash wanting to own the pretty bauble, the perfect creature designed for death, and instead liking the feeling of being desired himself.

Wanting to manipulate them, and then finding instead he craves an equal.

Wanting to prove his genius, and finding that the supposed instrument of murder is actually smart and capable themselves.

Wanting to play with the zealot and make them blasphemous, but instead finding a strange beauty in their devotion.

I love when it starts from his usual playbook of manipulation and dominance of the tyrant and then finds something much more dangerous, intimate, and damning for both parties.

i know the catholicism of tlt has been talked about to death but i have to say that tamsyn muir making lyctorhood a communion was honestly such a move. lyctorhood is not about the death of the cavalier it’s about the consumption!

I find Yoshioka such an interesting case of a fandom essentially collectively making up a character.

Like before I had actually seen the show, I had assumed that this dude played a MUCH larger role based on how often I saw fanart of him lol

But I think the general concept that people came up with for Yoshioka is so interesting and it's cool to see that the idea still persists in the fandom. Just a cool dude who gets possessed and ends up becoming buddies with said ghost who did it.

I wish I had been there in the early fandom days so I could have seen this development in real time.

Anyway, I would love to hear people's thoughts on Yoshioka or the phenomenon of fandom created characters in general
