"Laced Scars" unfinished WIP

found one of my older, unfinished WIPs. this was written back before ghaae was even canon. technically wrote it when Caspian's name wasn't know but i swapped it in as it feels strange calling him Ghosty now lol

anyways- lil snippet with pretty boys in lingerie and Caspian struggling with his scars

Caspian looked over his reflection in the mirror, split between anticipation and self-consciousness. The red straps and light lace crisscrossing across his body brought out the color of his eyes. He knew the outfit looked nice, it just… it was a lot of skin showing. Nothing was really covered, leaving the scattering of scars across his body on full display. The brunet considered changing into something else for a moment but shook the thought away just as quickly. Rae had gotten this set just for him and he didn’t want to disappoint him.

A knock came from the door of Caspian’s bedroom and said scientist spoke up from the other side. “You doing okay love?”

“Ah, yeah, everything’s fine!” The brunet said a little too quickly.

“Caspian…?” Rae asked, nervous as he could hear something wrong in his boyfriend’s tone. The adventurer froze up, torn between wanting to tell Rae to stay out, while also craving his comfort.

When he didn’t receive a response, Rae spoke up again. “Baby, can I come in?”

Caspian looked around, spotting Rae’s usual cape draped on the edge of the bed. He quickly picked it up and wrapped it over his shoulders, pulling it over his chest. “Uh… Yeah. Yeah, come in.”

The door opened up and Rae peaked inside, a concerned look on his face. Thoughts raced through the scientist’s head as he looked in to see that Caspian looked alright. Better than alright. The sight of his boyfriend all dressed up made him lose his train of thought.

“Fucking hell,” Rae said under his breath as he stepped fully into the room. He shut the door behind him and was quick to close the distance between them. “Look at you,” He purred, reaching up to trace the adventurer’s jawline.

“You’re not half bad yourself,” The brunet replied, coaxing an amused snort from his partner. He wasn’t wrong. Standing over him, Rae was nearly fully clothed. Black pants and a half corset clinched his waist in. He’d traded out his typical shirt for a button-up that he’d left open. What drew Caspian’s attention was the hint of navy blue lace he could see over his boyfriend’s chest.

“Thank you, darling. But, why don’t you tell me what’s wrong?” Rae asked gently as he recognized Caspian’s attempt to divert attention from himself.

“It’s nothing,” The brunet replied quickly. The response only spiked Rae’s alarm bells and his brow furrowed. He noticed how the adventurer had wrapped his cape around himself. Guilt flared up in his chest as he realized that Caspian was covering himself up. Covering up the outfit Rae had asked hin to wear.

“Do you want to change? If you don’t like the set, you absolutely don’t have to wear it, love,” the scientist offered softly.

“No! No, the set is nice, I promise,” Caspian insisted immediately.

“Then what’s on your mind?” Rae asked and scarlet eyes looked away.

“I… I guess it’s more… me?” He admitted quietly. Rae’s heart broke at the words.

“What? Darling, no,” the scientist swore, gently tilting Caspian’s chin up so he would look at him again. "Caspian you look amazing," He insisted, though could tell that Caspian wasn't convinced.

"I love the way you look no matter what you wear. This, your favorite jacket, my sweater, nothing at all. You look good in everything, darling. Even when you come home covered in hay from Martin's pen, I still think you're hot as hell," Rae told him, drawing out a laugh from the adventurer. He looked back up at Rae, a small smile on his face as his heart swelled with adoration.

"Even with all the… scars?" The adventurer asked hesitantly. It took Rae a bit by surprise. He'd never considered that Caspian's scars could bother him.

"Your scars are a part of you. I see these-" Rae gently slid the cape off one of his boyfriend's shoulders to expose the nearest scar. It was the largest one, running over the top of his shoulder near his collarbone. "-as everything you've been through. Everything you survived and powered through to get here." He traced his fingers over the uneven skin before leaning in to place a chaste kiss over the mark.

"I love your scars," Rae promised between kisses trailing down to the next one, over Caspian's bicep, as the adventurer shuttered under his ministrations.

"Let me show you how much," the scientist purred, pulling back enough to make eye contact with scarlet orbs. "Would that be alright?"

"Y-Yeah. I mean, if you want to," Caspian said, stuttering his words a bit as he flushed from Rae's praise. The scientist’s face lit up in a gentle smile and he led the brunet over to the bed. Tender touches slipped the cape off of Caspian’s shoulders before guiding him down onto the center of the mattress. Rae took a moment to unclasp his corset, setting it on the floor before undoing his pants as well. Stripping off the form-fitting slacks exposed the lace panties restraining his already half-hard cock.

“Someone’s excited,” Caspian taunted, trying to ease his own nerves as Rae flashed him a smirk as he slipped off his shirt completely, exposing the rest of the bralette he had on underneath. Navy blue lace and straps framed his chest to match the rest of the set.

“How could I not be with you dressed up for me like that,” Rae purred back as he tossed his shirt aside before joining Caspian on the bed. He moved up over the brunet, moving a leg to either side so Rae could straddle his boyfriend’s waist. Reaching down, he traced a finger over the straps running across the adventurer’s chest before leaning in to press a kiss to his collarbone.

“Just look at you,” Rae breathed, shamelessly leaving a trail of kisses and light nips down the other’s chest.

Was gonna put a response to your art concepts in the replies but it didn’t fit so I’ll just put here

1. YESYESYESYESYES. So pumped that you’re planning about making a comic about Jacob’s past. Seeing your interpretation of what he was like before canon, and how he eventually became the person he was in Yesterday’s Lie would be sick. Also I really like his outfit, it’s nice to see him out of the ol’ blue jeans and brown coat

2. I’ve never been one to involve Jacob in romance or romantic interests because the stuff doesn’t really interest me, but this is really fucking funny. I’m just imaging after Camila constrains Jacob in the cage he’s both going “Augh those damn alien bastards, they’ll rue the day they crossed me!” and “why was that hot why was that hot why was that hot”. Also as a side note, very appreciative of how you drew Jacob in a mellowed state. That’s how I often imagine him because it’s how he acts in my fic, and it is very starkly contrasted with how he acts in both the show and fanworks. So it’s nice to see a high quality drawing of him like that that isn’t a shitty sketch I made in the corner of my school notebook.

3. I’m not a subscriber to the belief that Jacob is a descendant from the Whittebanes, but this looks neat. I’m assuming this is gonna play some role in that Jacob and Phillip team up comic, where one or both of them connect the dots and realize that they’re related.

All in all, very cool stuff

Welcome back! I've been planning the Jacob backstory comic for a good while, it feels good to get some of those ideas out onto a screen. It's a topic that especially interests me since there's a lot of room for interpretation, like what even was this guy like before he went off the deep end? Im glad you liked the outfit, it brought me joy since he looks like such a dork DJRKDMMD. In terms of Jacob and Philip being related, I'm not sure if they'll figure it out in the AU yet, I kinda just wanted to give Caleb a wife before he ran away with Evelyn and I thought it'd be a neat opportunity lol. All in all Masha's probably more closely related to the Wittebanes than Jacob is realistically. It could be subject to change, I'm pretty much going off of what's been in my head for this project and stuff has already changed quite a bit. Also I just thought that Jacob having a thing for Camila would be funny lol. I have to put that man in weird predicaments for my own amusement.

Tarum (they/he)! Here's a pic of them in a genshin impact pose lol

There's a trio in SUL characters that are infamous for being purple and having bad development issues lmao

- Violae, who I've never been happy with her design (I'd love to give her more Venti Genshin Impact vibes without outright stealing the design yknow? Honestly the best outfit she's ever had Was in fact a Venti costume I drew her in 😭😭)

- Amethyst, who I've never been happy with her personality (She's difficult to pinpoint because purple is very good for SYMBOLISM but very tough for me to pinpoint as an explicit character without making her prideful or too mysterious)

- Aaand Lavender, who I've never been happy with her backstory

Lavender was so interchangable in terms of her role but NOT interchangable in the way I developed her.

In a world that can be separated between huemans and Paladins, it was even difficult to pinpoint WHAT she actually was.

Leading up to her eventual scrapping, I was stuck in my own head trying to find ANY Greek mythology figure that was

1.) Attached to any gods I've deemed a "light god"

2.) Attached to a specific /color/ because Lavender's role needed to be hueman-passing

3.) Would make sense for her being 2000 years old, aka taking place in SUL's... inciting event?

However I couldn't find ANYTHING that would have made sense to help revamp Lavender. The main idea of Lavender would've been that she'd be the Medea to Violetta's Circe, and that she'd have a special connection to Amethyst

So Lavender herself as a character was very :/ because of how uncompelling I found her but her role is pretty ESSENTIAL to SUL anyway; there NEEDS to be a "Guardian of the Paladins", especially with that role being able to connect with how special Amethyst is

At one point I heavily considered making any of the fake Paladins canon, but I didn't use the specific Magenta/Mint/Lime Paladins that they were because

1.) Magenta's a pretty modern color and the Guardian of the Paladins would need to be someone old

2.) ...I don’t like the color green and didn't think it'd fit for the role wifhwkjv

However there was one last ace-card of wiggle room I could do before... idk, begging my beta readers for help with what to do 😭😭

In SUL lore, the line between... well, "Sonic Colors meets End of Evangelion" and "The first era of the modern Paladins, the Era of Conquest" were pretty blurred due to Lavender's existence; she would have been made during the former, but had some lore in the latter

BUT, my ass worldbuilded too much... to my own benefit

Ysee, the Violet Paladin of the Conquest era was originally JUST meant to be a reference to another OC of mine from a different universe, Lux Rainbowflare from ETSS

In SUL, the first modern Violet Paladin is called "Prima" in legends

But what I HADNT considered... Lux has a twin brother. Nox.

See the resemblance to Tarum?

What I realized in terms of ETSS is that... Nox really doesn't have a lot of substance despite being the TWIN BROTHER of the PROTAGONIST, so I decided to use him as a basis for the Guardian of the Paladins because he's simply never been developed before in his own universe, so why not make his SUL counterpart a fix-it fic for him?

So at some point I settled on making the new Guardian of the Paladins a NEW Paladin, like the fake Paladins I linked above; however, they'd be INDIGO colored, so they'd be a quarternary color, which was different and possible enough in the worldbuilding to do because the MAIN Paladins have a strict Primary -> Secondary -> Tertiary color system, so they'd immediately been an outcast but still make sense because Indigo huemans do exist and have a different hue identity from typical Blues and Violets (Nila and Peri J. both consider themselves Indigo souls)

So, using the lore of Prima + the lore of the general Violet Paladin, placing the Guardian of the Paladins in the Era of Conquest rather than strictly Origins era would've fixed one of Lavender’s vices by making them old enough to mentor future Paladins, but young enough to not know anything about the ORIGINAL Paladins

Being a twin to Prima, the first Modern Violet Paladin, would also give the Guardian that connection to the Violet Paladin that is REALLY needed to help benefit Amethyst's character and her arc

So, here's what I came up with:

In the Era of Conquest, the area of future Neocity is torn between Solarians and Lunarans, with huemanity still having a vague memory of ancient humans' war between the Sun and Moon, though not having all the details of this war aside from keeping the prejudice surrounding it

In the Violis Village, the figure later known as Prima in hueman history is the heir to rule. Her family consists of Solarians, but Prima herself resembles a Lunaran due to her albinism, already creating tension in the village.

However, she finds a mysterious energy that turns her into a Paladin. With huemanity having no memory of the humans' mass destruction OR about the heroes who avenged it, Prima realizes through this energy that she must reunite the new simulacra of these "Paladins" into a full rainbow and find out the truth behind their mysterious origins.

However, in accepting her newfound duty as a Paladin, she leaves behind her twin brother... who I'll refer to as Taro. "Baby Tarum", if you will :]

If Prima is a princess to the village, Taro is her knight.

But what's a knight without a purpose?

Prima begins interacting more and more with who she considers fellow Paladins, which Taro accepts at first, but begins to falter as Prima becomes more distant and starts being sympathetic to Lunarans like the Azure Paladin, "Azure Sky".

But this doubt is PERFECT to utilize, according to the three Titans behind the Paladins' constant suffering: Aster, Arke, and [SPOILER]

The details here get fuzzy, but the principle is the same; Taro gets manipulated by either Aster or Arke into turning on his twin sister by defeating the Paladins.

Of course, the Paladins stop him, but Prima doesn't want him dead also maybe he's pretty banged up after trying to fight uhhh 6-7 PALADINS so he might have actually been on the verge of... yknow

So, Prima makes a wish towards Iris, whom she figures out is the creator of the Paladins; make her brother a Paladin too

All of Taro's suffering was due to him being outcasted by the Paladins, but losing his sister to being a Paladin.

Iris learns an important lesson; Paladins shouldn't have hueman siblings. Not only does Paladin-bullshit hurt the Paladins' mental psyche, but also puts innocent huemans in danger, which isn't what Iris wants.

And so, Iris grants that wish; she gathers the power to make ONE more Paladin-creature, an "Indigo Paladin", shifting Taro's purple hue into indigo.

In living life as a Paladin, Taro (Now "Tarum" and going by they/he) is grateful for Prima's wish... and after the first century is over, Iris and Prima entrust them with the Violet Paladins' soul; the mysterious energy Prima absorbed so long ago

Grateful for the opportunity they've been given, Tarum decides to honor their twin sister in every way they can, especially by mentoring the future Paladins he comes across.

Tarum also:

1.) Learns witchcraft and herbal medicine, which were things Prima learned from being a Violet Paladin

2.) Archives as much information about the Paladins and the former guardian (Violetta) as he can, honoring Prima's quest for knowledge and truth during her reign as Violet Paladin

3.) Using their newfound Indigo-Intuition (no, literally. The Indigo Paladin virtue is Intuition) to gain insight into the Paladins; how they work, who they are, what they generally look like, in hopes to help reunite future Paladins together by recognizing which huemans ARE Paladins and how to handle each Paladins' specific personality

4.) Spoiler territory but Tarum also has something to do with Amethyst's lore and arc because of the ways they honor Prima

And so, that brings Tarum to modern era, with the Violis Village developing into Neocity, a bustling urban environment centered around tournament fighting as the SUL universe's equivalent to California's Hollywood/Los Angeles (i,,, did Not know Hollywood is just a neighborhood in LA but uh yeah you get the Vibe)

And for 1900 years of his existence, Tarum has always mentored the Paladins and strove for their safety :] <3 Now, he's entrusted with the 20th generation of Paladins; Ruby's generation!

And anyway, lastly, here's some general info about Tarum to round things off lmao bc all their cool shit will be in SUL's main storyline which I don't talk too much about due to spoilers

- Tarum I swear should be about 1900 years old in terms of his immortality, but biologically he's about 24-25. So, mentally older than Jay and Amethyst lmao

- Yes becoming an Indigo Paladin made him realize they're nonbinary (I definitely wanted to make the Guardian of the Paladins nonbinary so this helps in differentiating him from Nox Rainbowflare, who'll remain a boy) ((emphasis on "boy" bc Nox is 17 at /max/ lol))

- He's aroace! Prima was pan/pan and it took until later for Tarum to find a word for it

- Obviously no voice actors are solid OR involved with SUL right now, but my friend @/ravenwolfie97 suggested Cyno from Genshin Impact as his voice claim. I'd say it fits! :D

- Both Taro and Prima had fire elements, but as a Paladin, Tarum has "Witchfire" as his Paladin-power! The real life equivalent would be St Elmo's Fire or corona discharge

- He also gains a weapon made of light he can summon from their soul! It's specifically a "spetum" :] (you can see it on the character art from above lol)

- As a Paladin, they still need to eat and consider themselves vegan, since Paladins need to absorb light energy from plant material. Their favorite foods are blueberries and taro boba tea... though Paladins can also eat flowers too so their favorite would be baptisias (wild indigo). Funnily enough, they can't eat any green plants, because lime green is their complementary color and complementary colors hurt Paladins lmao

- Their general vibe is "slightly older but head of the pack; he guards and protects the team" and "soft strong protector" (thanks to my buddy 💜 for pinpointing their vibes immediately lmao). Since he was a soldier in the Era of Conquest he does still carry a warrior's drive, this time to protect the Paladins.

- They’re very stoic/resting bitch faced but very softhearted, especially during SUL's modern era where they've had 1900 years to develop healthy coping mechanisms lol

- Tigerlily the 16th is still canon. This means Tarum has had an emotional support orange cat for 16 centuries. He names them all Tigerlily. He's literally an Ancient Roman soldier but he's still enamored with pets.

- He feels incredibly bad about being a dick to Azure 1900 years ago though BQIFHJWJF he tries to be nice to all future blue spectrum Paladins,

- They’re technically the youngest Paladin and the oldest Paladin; biologically older than the rest but chronologically younger than even the Pink Paladin

- When they're not being Guardian, they're Mayor of Neocity! I'm wondering if I should change that title to "Princeps" or "Consul" considering his Ancient Roman origins lol

So yeah, Tarum is my newest OC! They're a revamped version of Lavender’s role but because of how much less restricting his character feels, I'm having a blast imagining their dynamic with the Paladins :]

Virgil hadn’t even turned around from closing the door when he started speaking.

"I'm going to close my eyes and count to ten. Maybe I'll convince myself you were never here if you won't be here when I open them."

Janus should have known to expect such a cold welcome. He stared at Virgil’s back, willing him to turn around and hear him out, to notice and acknowledge him, even just to glare at him. The sharp interjection of Virgil’s counting cut through the air before he could speak.

“One.”

It had been instinct, to go to Virgil first. His former best friend. The one he once trusted more than anyone else.

“Two.”

Maybe Janus should have gone to someone else.

“Three.”

Patton wouldn’t have turned him away.

“Four.”

Maybe Logan would have tried to help.

“Five.”

Roman... Roman probably would have pretended he wasn’t there, too.

“Six.”

Remus would have stayed until the bitter end.

“Seven.”

He was already running out of time anyway. What did a few more seconds matter?

“Eight.”

But, if Janus was being honest with himself - and sometimes, he was - he just wanted to see Virgil one last time.

“Nine.”

Janus closed his eyes.

“Ten.”

No one was there when Virgil turned back around.

ENTROPY MEGAPOST!

I did inktober last year. All the drawings for it (except one) were Entropy related. So here ya go. One late as hell inktober 2023 art dump lmao

Day 1 — Dream. Here you can see Fool (fool in lower left), Felicity (princess in lower right), Spark (upper right), and Edbrgrwin (creature in upper left) dreaming about simpler times, before Felicity was overthrown and banished by the bastard Egor and Fool did nothing to help!

I extremely very much associate Fool with Will Wood songs, and this one definitely was inspired by Lysergide Daydream ♥️

Day 2 ~ Spiders. Felicity was originally a character made to be a grandchild of one of my step sibling’s ocs, but that oc went through a looooot of changes, and Felicity became a nonfandom oc that I would just draw when I didn’t know what to draw. Now she actually has a story, but I still use her when I just wanna draw stupid big skirts and itty bitty waist. This dress is one of those. Felicity is like a fashion doll like monster high or bratz lmfao.

Day 3 — Path. This drawing symbolizes Fool’s perceived split between their identities. On one hand, you have siding with Egor, which represents Fool’s loyalty to chaotic neutral—the decision not to help Felicity because that’s the neutral thing to do, and the thing he’s been doing for eons. Then you have siding with Felicity, which would be loyalty towards Felicity, the only person he’s ever truly romantically loved… but what he perceived as a betrayal to true chaotic neutral. Ultimately, of course, he chose to stand by as Felicity was banished.

Day 4 — dodge

Day 5 — Map.

Felicity’s loyal friends desperately searching for her.

Day 6 — Golden.

Day 10 — Fortune

Day 11 — Wander

I imagine this is very soon after Felicity’s banishment lol

Day 12 — Spicy

I actually did this day (and drip) twice, but there’s only 30 images per post, so I’m only posting one for each. This was the first one I did for “spicy”, and although I like my second one more, I used a reference image, and since I’m only posting one each day, I’m using the drawing that doesn’t require I post a second image lol. Might post that drawing another day.

Day 13 — Rise

this is Felicity’s ass kickin outfit, bitch! The climax of the story is Felicity reuniting with Spark and Edbrgrwin. They try to take her back to Entropy, but because of Egor’s curse (which makes it impossible for Felicity to return—which isn’t a problem in entropy (where nothing is impossible) it is a problem in Negentropy (where somethings are simply impossible)) she ends up in Limbo, home of Death. Death agrees to help her, and gives her a way to permanently kill Egor (the one truly impossible thing in Entropy is permanent death)—a magic spear that will send Egor’s soul straight to Death, effectively killing him. Why does your oc look the way they do? What are your reasons for their appearance?

gonna answer this for most of them bc its fun lol

Raide is actually way different than they originally were designed. she used to be a sona, or, my sona (ravio)'s opposite twin thing. i didnt like that idea anymore so i revamped him completely, and ended up mashing together "skull pattern bc its cool" "keep her hair similar" and "colors i like" and ending up with what we have now. oh, her hair actually originally was designed after a spatoon oc i had, and then i Hated drawing the hair so much that i never drew him, so, with my siblings advice, i made them wear a crown that looks similar to his old hair, and her new hair still has similar vibes but is much easier to draw.

Calen actually hasnt changed too much, to be honest. he used to be just an offbrand version of a character i liked from a fandom im no longer in, and because i had already made him kinda my own, i kept him around and changed him into a twili to match Raide. his colors are blue and gold because thats what his colors originally were, and his skin is tinted green because i didnt want All my twili to just be black and white. thats boring.

Vang was the first of the twins to be made, and was also my first twili oc, so she kinda became the outline for them. Her and her brother, Kalt, are supposed to look like siblings, but also look closer to Midna from canon, because they are part of the royal lineage, and i wanted them to match more with the canon looks we are given for twili.

Kalt is vang but to the left, design wise, honestly. they probably looked Very similar, if not identical before she transitioned, but neither of them minds. he has the same hair as The Hero (link from twilight princess) because he looks up to him and wants to be cool. (aka he started as just a twili Link design but i made him my own.)

(all of the twili are actually undergoing mild design changes currently. undecided if some of the new design choices will be part of an au or not, so i wont be explaining them here, since they arent complete yet anyways.)

Hobic the wizard design choices? uh. slutty gay wizard with his tits out. that was the whole design idea. also green. i dont think too deeply about these things, he's entirely a joke character.

The M Crew, Moss, Marble, and Media are actually mostly three colors. green, purple, and orange. Moss is Purple with green clothes, Marble is Green with orange clothes, and Media is Orange with purple clothes. the intent is to make them look fine on their own, but also like a fun group when put together. Media is supposed to look simplistic but kinda punk. (the end result is them looking like a bouncer at a concert but thats okay lol.) Moss is supposed to have a similar outfit to what i usually wear. letterman jacket, combat boots, ripped jeans. Marble.. marble was a struggle and a half and i dont like her outfit at all. she looks like she got a witch costume from spirit halloween and called it good, so i have to fix that.

Does your oc have any notable skills or good personality traits? Why did you give them those traits? Why do they exist in-universe?

hm. Raide is good at most forms of art. i gave them that skill because im a jack of all trades, and my oc's are almost always an extension of myself. Raide is a good artist in universe because she loves art a lot, and doesnt want to be a royal guard anyway, so why not try Every type of art while he finds out what they want to do? right?

Calen is good at mixing potions, and is pretty charismatic. honestly hes had these since being created so i dont know why he has them. as for in universe explaination: potions are his job, so hes been trained on how to make them(and he Has to know how to make potions.. because they keep him alive..) . charisma is also job related. hes a merchant of many wares (potions are just the ones he makes himself.), so he's gotten pretty good at being charming but honest. it helps people buy his shit.

bigass rant below the cut (tw: misogyny, autism)

so... went in crush's stream last night, where he was playing batman: arkham asylum. poison ivy was imprisoned, wearing a halter and panties, boobs all over the place. harley was in a super short nurse's outfit with her magumbos out. i expressed my disgust and he said yeah, there were several unnecessary upskirts of harley already. i said "thank you, male gaze" assuming he'd know i didn't mean him, that he's aware that men suck overall (which he's indicated many times before). he took umbrage at that and played the "not all men" card. wasn't sure if he was taking the piss until he complained about me lumping him in with that lot. my mistake, fine.

then he made a joke about tipping his camgirls well, "as you should" (my reply). he said something the other night about commissioning twitch emotes from me, but wanting someone else to pay for them. (we're both unemployed, i get it, lol. it was enough for me for him to want my art in the first place) when he made the camgirl quip, i said "oh, so this is why you didn't want to pay for my emotes." which he took seriously?? we joke about porn all the time? i had joked about trying to get him to subscribe at a higher tier to my channel, too, so he took all that as me trying to wring money out of him, i guess. (he's not wrong, i'm broke af) i was like, you realize I'm joking, right? i don't give a fuck what you do with your money? he said, "i'm autistic [he is], i didn't know you were making a joke." which drew some serious side-eye from me, since i don't know if he's joking half the time, and that's with aural input. fine, whatever.

cut to end of stream. he played a snippet from batman: the animated series where harley's just trying to have a normal one and ends up carted to the asylum anyway. she laments that she lost a dress that she'd even bought with her own money. batman produces the same dress for her to have, whereupon she smooches the dickens out of him. poison ivy, flower pot in hand, watches on from her own cell and exchanges shrugs with robin. knowing the lesbian canon that's happened between harley & ivy since then, i said, "poison ivy's mind: blown." crush says, "that's not poison ivy." i'm like, wtf are you talking about. he insisted that it wasn't her, that "not every redhead is ivy," that she's "never been locked up in arkham," etc etc.

bitch. i've seen the show. i used to watch it every fucking day. and if you're trying to gaslight me into believing that wasn't poison ivy – even as a joke, even if you turn around and you're like "no, it's not poison ivy, it's dr. pamela isley hrhr" – that's pretty shitty. i know i only have basic cape comic knowledge. but to disregard what knowledge i do have, that I'm convinced of — well, fuck you, then.

i told him not to gaslight me and he even doubled down that it wasn't her; otherwise i'd have let this go. the stream was ending and i didn't want to argue there, so i left the channel and wrote out a thing much like this complaintfest, took a screenshot and sent it to him. he has not responded. i feel like shit and have cried a lot remembering how hard it was growing up a female nerd (a fat female nerd, even) among mercilessly nerdy guys, so intimidated as to repress how nerdy i really was, and how he probably doesn't care, or was looking at something else entirely and didn't mean any of this and it's all a huge misunderstanding. but even if it was, i just wanted him to see where I'm coming from, that he can't have it both ways when it comes to getting/not getting jokes, that he was employing the casual misogyny that he rails against, and i didn't want him to get away with it.

You wake up the next morning, opening your eyes when your alarm on my phone goes off. You groan and reach over toward your side table. You look at the time after snoozing the alarm. It’s 7:45 am. You sigh and roll over, closing your eyes again. You snuggle into the second pillow there. Your eyes snap open when the smell of Sandalwood fills your nose.

Jensen stayed the night!

His side of the bed is still warm, meaning he didn’t leave that long ago. You smile at the thought. You and he actually spent the night together, but didn’t do anything but sleep and watch movies. It was relaxing, and you know, by the scent still on the pillow that it wasn’t a dream. A thought crosses your mind, making you sigh and sit up.

He left without…

Black marker on your wrist catches your eye, cutting the thought off, as you get distracted by what’s there. You look down and smile widely when you read what’s inked in there. A smiley face with a phone number. You squeal and quickly text the number after adding him to your contacts.

‘You drew a smiley face on me?!’ You text the number.

You take a deep breath before you get up out of the bed and walk toward the bathroom. Your phone dings a few seconds later. You immediately turn around and jump back on the bed, landing on your stomach.

‘XD Good morning to you too! You explicitly said no mustaches or little dicks so I went with a smiley face instead.’ His text reads.

You smile widely before texting back.

‘I dunno if I wanna say good morning to a smartass...but….good morning. :)’

His reply comes a second later. ‘Lol. Thanks. But, I was just following your explicit instructions. And, once you told me not to do something, I just had to. ;P And, what better way for me to leave you my number. I had to make sure you’d see it. Didn’t want it getting lost and some random housekeeper finding it. XD’

You laugh hard as you shoot back your response. ‘Well thanks for that :D. When did you leave?’

You bite your lip softly waiting for his reply. A minute later your phone dings.

‘Maybe 15 minutes ago? Not very long. Why? Miss me already? :P’

You giggle and text.

‘Of course! Who else is gonna bug me while watching movies at midnight? :)’

‘I don’t know about you but I love bugging you at midnight :] I’ll see you at the panel later, smartass.’

‘I’ll see you then. :]’ You text before leaving your phone on the bed.

You quickly take a shower and change into a comfortable outfit which is just a pair of shorts and a Led Zeppelin shirt. As you slip on one of your shoes, someone knocks at your door. You quickly jump up and stumble over your other shoe, running over. You pull the door open quickly to see Lexi on the other side. The smile drops from your face like an atomic bomb from a fighter jet, but you quickly hide the frown.

“You ready for this?” She says, pushing into your room.

“Yeah. I just need to put on my other shoe and get my phone.” You answer, closing the door.

“Did you find a guy last night?” She asks, smirking at you.

“No.” You try to lie.

“I saw you leave with a tall man, Y/N. Don’t try and lie to me.” She crosses her arms.

You blush slightly as you slip on your other shoe.

“We just hung out. Nothing happened.” You tell her, honestly.

“Seriously?” She rolls her eyes. “You need to get laid, Y/N/N. You can’t just…”

You cut her off. “Lexi, I don’t need to do anything. I do what I want, and it turns out that happened to be what I needed last night. We watched a couple movies and went to bed. I don’t need to fuck some random dude from a bar. If I wanted to, I might’ve.”

“What was his name?”

I can’t tell her his name. Even though she’s my friend, she might try and steal him away. Wait...Why am I thinking this? I won’t see him again after this weekend so it doesn’t even matter.

“His name is Jay.” You answer, snagging your phone from the bed, sliding it in the pocket of your shorts.

“Jay? What kind of fake name is that?” She rolls her eyes.

You shrug lazily. “Doesn’t matter. Let’s get downstairs.”

You grab your wallet and leave your room. The whole walk to the elevator, she keeps asking about this ‘Jay’ and what he does for a living. You don’t want to tell her that Jensen is a Soap Opera TV Star. She might try and get with him for the money. You don’t care what Jensen does for a living. He’s handsome, very, very sweet, and absolutely funny.

The elevator doors finally open up and she pulls you to the shorter line leading the way to the conference room of the hotel. Lexi hands you your Gold Pass that’s attached to a lanyard which you hang around your neck. You wait in line for a while which causes the line to get longer. The line extends to the elevator and even past that.

The doors open a few minutes later and a man starts checking all the passes before letting people in. You hold up your passes before walking in. You glance around the room before walking toward the front. Sighing a little, You hide your disappointment at not seeing Jensen yet. Lexi looks for seats, and after a moment, squeals, and drags you to two empty ones in the front row.

You swallow deeply. “Lex...do...do we have to sit this close?”

She smirks as she sits down. “Duh! How else are we supposed to stare at the hot actors?!”

You sigh and then grunt a little as she tugs you down so you’re sitting on the chair next to her. Every so often, you look around the room, searching for your new friend. Lexi just assumes it’s your anxiety that’s making you look around the room.

“Relax, Y/N/N. It’ll be fun!” She giggles. “This is the best one of the day! We get to meet the main stars, the guys who play Sam and Dean!”

You sigh. “You’ll enjoy it.”

“You will too! And, maybe after this, I’ll finally be able to get you to watch Supernatural!”

You shrug. “Probably not. Don’t get your hopes up.”

She giggles and assures you she will, and looks down at her pass, taking a selfie with it in clear view. While she’s distracted with updating her MySpace profile, you glance around once more, and when you don’t see Jensen, you shoot him a quick text, hoping that he ain’t the kind of guy to say he’s going to do something and not follow through with it.

‘Hey! Where are you? I already got my seat at the panel! I don’t see you?’

Not even a minute later, you receive a text from him.

‘Don’t worry. You will. :) I’m about to walk up! See you in a sec!’

You glance over your shoulder once again looking for him, and grinning like a fool, excited about seeing your new friend again so soon. The announcer waits until the room is completely filled before speaking into his microphone.

“How is everyone?” He asks, causing everyone but you to scream excitedly. “Our special guests are ready to come out. Introducing Dean Winchester himself, Jensen Ackles!”

You raise your eyebrows at the name as everyone starts screaming even louder than before. Is...Is this him? You jerk your head around and your eyes nearly pop out of your head when you see him jog up onstage, one hand raised in a still wave, and a huge smile on his face. You giggle a little yourself as you see the bags under his eyes, showing how tired he is.

Your eyes widen a little as you realize why he’s tired.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I SLEPT WITH THIS MAN! I SLEPT WITH JENSEN ACKLES! I mean, all we did was joke around, watch movies, and then legitimately sleep together in each other’s arms. But! I STILL SLEPT WITH HIM!

He makes his way to his chair, which you just now notice is directly in front of you. He flashes you that adorable smile you saw last night and a discreet wink. Lexi practically squeals next to you as she slaps you shoulder.

“HE JUST WINKED AT YOU!” She whispers, excitedly, in your ear.

You blush and shrug it off. “It wasn’t at me.”

But, even you know that’s a lie. That wink was definitely directed at you. You pull your phone out and shoot him a text.

‘Didn’t tell me you were IN the panel, Mister. No more movies for you tonight. :P’

Sliding your phone back in my pocket, you sneak a glance at him, and see him still grinning, then watch as his brow raises and he sneaks a peek at his phone, making it look like he’s just placing it on the table in front of him. Since you're sitting in the front row, you hear his chuckle and see him playfully pout as his eyes meet yours.

“Introducing the younger, but taller Winchester brother, Sam...here’s Jared Padalecki!” The announcer says, causing everyone to scream once again.

Your eyes leave Jensen’s for a moment as he looks up at his friend and fellow co-star. Jared walks out from the same spot Jensen did a moment ago, his hand raised, like Jensen’s was, and takes his seat. Jensen leans over and whispers something to Jared, making the taller man’s gaze turn to you, a grin spreading across his face.

Keeping his eyes on me, Jared whispers something back to your new friend from last night. Jensen nods and flashes you another wink, making Lexi start squealing in your ear. You draw your shoulders up, blushing.

“They’re totally whispering about you, Y/N! What did you do?!” She squeals softly in your ear.

“Nothing! They’re not talking about me.”

“Then...Are they talking about me?” She whispers, excitedly.

“I don’t know. What did you do?” You put emphasis on the question before, raising an eyebrow.

“Nothing. I was with some green haired man and a bleach blonde chick. Never seen them. It has to be you!” She shakes your arm.

You shake your head and look back up at Jensen and Jared. They’re whispering to each other, with Jensen sneaking glances at you every so often. That smile on his face grows every time he does. At one point, your phone vibrates after Jensen sets his back on the table. You give it a moment before you look at it.

‘Please don’t take my movies away! *Pouts* That was fun last night. Oh, and Jared says hi. He approves of my new friend. Wanted to know if you’d be up for getting a burger after this is all said and done? That is, if your friend hasn’t made you deaf from squealing in your ear every time I wink at you. ;P.’

You giggle and roll your eyes as you slip your phone back in your pocket without sending a reply. You look back at Jensen and give him a nod, saying that ‘I’m ok with that.’ He grins from ear to ear and leans over to Jared. Jared chuckles, stands, and throws his hands up in the air, excitedly. As he does, his shirt rises up, which gets a loud, screaming response from the crowd.

Jensen laughs and says, loud enough for his microphone to pick it up. “Put your arms down, man. You’re flashing everyone.”

Jared laughs. “And that’s a bad thing?”

The crowd members all shout at the same time. “NOOOO!”

Jared chuckles and sits back down, tugging his shirt back into place. Jensen laughs and shakes his head. Lexi’s still cheering loudly from beside you at the sight of seeing Jared’s tummy. You tap your ear a couple times, and see Jensen smirk at you. His fingers dance across the table and a moment later your phone vibrates.

‘Sorry. Didn’t think Jared would do that. Your friend’s got quite the set of lungs. Want some earplugs?’

You laugh as you read it, shaking your head. Your phone buzzes again.

‘Why not? You might go deaf, and then who else will hear my cheesy, smartass jokes?’

You laugh again and look up at Jensen to see him smirking even more, his water bottle to his lips as he takes a sip. You roll your eyes and type out a reply.

‘Oh, please. I’m sure you’ll find someone else to tell your jokes to.’

‘What if I don’t want to tell them to someone else?’

You raise a brow, trying to keep your blush from becoming too visible. But, you can tell he still sees it because he chuckles and winks. You drop your head, looking at your phone, and text him.

‘Stop it. You’re not exactly being a Smooth Criminal here, Jay. XD I will go deaf when she finds out that I’m the one you’re flirting with and she squeals in my ear.’

When you hear his laugh, you know he’s read your response.

“Jared, am I a Smooth Criminal?” Jensen asks, looking at his friend, but talking into his mic.

Jared laughs. “Uh, maybe? It depends. What would you be a Smooth Criminal in?”

“Flirting.”

Jared laughs harder. “If you’re a Smooth Criminal when it comes to flirting then I��m a 2 foot tall Leprechaun dressed in green with a pot of gold in my hand.”

Everyone cracks up laughing at Jared’s response. You smirk and text Jensen.

‘See?! Even Jared agrees.’

Jensen laughs. “Alright. Alright. Maybe I’m not a Smooth Criminal. Can’t blame a guy for trying, can you?”

Jared chuckles. “If it’s you? Uh, yeah. We can blame a guy for trying.”

“Well, you ain’t exactly helping matters, Jared.” Jensen teases.

“Ooooo. So, you’re flirting right now? I’m flattered, Jensen, but you’re not my type.”

Jensen laughs. “Not with you, you big Moose. But, yes. With someone else, right now, I am.”

The announcer grabs his microphone again. “Alright everyone, it’s time for questions. You will raise your hand and one of the guys with the microphone will come over to you. You will ask your question and the boys will answer before we go to another one. Sound good?”

The crowd screams in agreement before a couple of men with microphones start walking around. Lexi immediately throws her hand into the air. You try to grab her arm but she moves and keeps it higher. The guy with the microphone goes to a lady in the row behind us. You let out a huge breath of relief. The woman stands up and leans toward the man with the microphone.

“Hi! This is for Jensen! Who are you trying to flirt with? Is it someone here?” She asks, hoping she might be the lucky one to get Jensen’s attention.

My eyes snap up toward Jensen and you bite your lip slightly. The whole room gets quiet waiting for his answer.

You quickly send Jensen a text. ‘So help me, Jay. You say it’s me, and I won’t watch movies with you ever again.’

You watch as his eyes drift down to his phone and widen as he swallows deeply before he answers the lady.

“Hi! Thanks for the question. She is here, but that’s all I’m going to say. If I say anymore, she’s already threatened to take away my perfect date.” He says, flashing his smile with a shrug of his shoulders.

“I don’t think our lovely audience here will take that answer, Jay.” Jared smirks over at him.

Lexi turns toward you with a huge smile.

“It is him...You bitch.” She whispers with humor in her voice.

You blush and look away when the guy walks around with a microphone again. Lexi throws her hand up once again. The guy stops to the left of her. You can still see Jensen and Jared perfectly when the guy puts the microphone to Lexi’s mouth.

“Hi! Once again, this is for Jensen.” She smirks, glancing at you. “Is the girl you're flirting with my friend right here?”

Jensen chuckles. “Well, now...I’d say we’re all friends here, correct?”

The crowd cheers and everyone nods fast.

Jensen grins. “So, by that, I’d say yes. It is one of your friends here in this room.”

“Well yeah. But is it my friend Y/N right here?” She points at you.

Jensen swallows deeply. “Well...I can’t confirm that...I don’t want to lose the perfect date.”

Jared grins, not making eye contact with you. “If you agreed to go get a burger with Jay and I later, please stand up!”

Everyone in the room looks around, clearly looking for the lucky person who’s getting food with Jensen and Jared. You sigh and drop your head, sending Jensen a text.

‘I’m gonna kill a Moose. XD’

Jensen snorts as he clearly reads your text and shows it to Jared, who laughs.

“If you don’t stand up, I will come down there and scoop you up! A Moose can carry almost anything!” He says, looking around, trying to be discreet.

You jerk your head up and glare at him, hoping he won’t do it. Everyone in the room laughs and cheers, urging Jared to do that. He smirks and raises a brow.

“What’s it gonna be?” He teases.

You send Jensen another text. ‘I hope you weren’t too attached to your Moose. He’s about to become stew if he comes and gets me!’

Jensen and Jared both laugh as Jensen shows him.

“I’ll just have to risk becoming stew then!” He teases, standing.

You discreetly shake your head causing him to smile widely. He starts walking to the side of the stage where the stairs lead down toward the crowd. You look toward Lexi with a death glare. She smirks at you.

“This will prove if it’s you.” She whispers, watching Jared.

The whole crowd watches Jared with curiosity, hoping he will be walking to someone near them. He turns toward the front row and starts walking toward you. With Jared being so tall, he’s gaining on you fast. You glance over at Jensen to see a small smirk on his lips and he shrugs slightly. My phone vibrates.

‘I’m sorry? Can we still have movies together?’

You go to respond, but before you can, you’re suddenly lifted 4 feet in the air into a pair of strong arms. You squeal and look up. Jared smirks as he looks at you.

“Definitely worth the risk of being turned into Moose stew.” He teases.

He moves you so you’re now in his arms bridal style. Your arms quickly wrap around his neck since you’re terrified of being dropped, even though you know Jared would never do that. Or, at least you don’t think he would since you just met him. The whole room screams out in excitement since Jensen’s Flirt has now been revealed. Your face immediately gets warm as you blush.

Lexi squeals. “I KNEW IT! YOU SNEAKY GIRL!”

Everyone in the room laughs. You blush harder, and if you weren't so embarrassed at the moment, you’d give her the deadliest glare. Jensen walks down and over to you.

“I’ll take it from here, Jared.” He says, grinning.

Jared laughs and sets you in Jensen’s arms. You gasp and quickly wrap your arms around his neck, holding onto him. He gives me a soft smile.

“Technically, I didn’t say it was you.” He whispers.

You giggle. “Smart ass. Maybe I’ll keep the movies to myself.”

“I’ll buy you 50 burgers and a dozen milkshakes if you share.”

You laugh, tilting your head back slightly. “Maybe. I’ll think about it.”

Jared laughs before bringing his microphone up. “They’re still flirting!”

The crowd cheers and you hear cameras go off as people take photos. You bury your face against Jensen’s neck.

“If you don’t get me outta here, right now, no amount of burgers and milkshakes will get you movies.” You whisper so only he can hear.

He chuckles, and you feel the vibrations of it in his chest. A moment later, you feel his lips by your ear as he whispers.

“I still have another half hour, sweetheart. But, stick by my side, and I’ll make it up to you?”

You playfully whine softly but nod against him. He’s really warm and, just like last night, you feel safe in his arms. You feel his lips turn up in a smile against the shell of your ear. You keep your face hidden against him, mainly since people are still taking photos, as he carries you up to his seat and settles down, still holding you in his arms.

He whispers. “I didn’t quite expect to have you back in my arms so soon, but I’m definitely not complaining.”

You giggle against him. “Ok. Maybe you are a Smooth Criminal when it comes to flirting.”

He laughs, the movement gently shaking you a little as he holds you.

“Is that gonna be our song now?” He teases softly.

You giggle and shrug. “Maybe. Maybe not.”

Jared comes back and sits in his seat, smirking. After a few minutes, you finally lift your head, bringing your face outta hiding but stay in Jensen’s arms as he and Jared continue answering the fans’ questions about the show, their friendship, and what can be expected in future episodes. The guys answer what they can, and make a few jokes in the process. To keep your nerves down, Jensen rubs your hip with his thumb. This makes you blush slightly.

Sure enough, after half an hour, the announcer comes back out and says there’s time for one last question before the panel ends. After it’s been asked, and answered by Jared, who happily took it over, one shy fan on the front row, a few seats down from mine, raises their hand.

You whisper to Jensen. “Let the poor girl ask her question. She’s shy, and I’m sure it took her the entire hour just to get the courage to ask.”

He smiles and nods before gesturing for the guy with the mic to hand it over to the young girl. She smiles a little as she takes it.

“Hi.” She says in a soft voice.

Jensen smiles. “Hi, sweetheart. You wanna ask us something?”

She nods fast. “I...um…this is for you, Mr. Ackles.”

Jensen smiles, his hand softly rubbing your lower back, hidden by the table. “You can just call me Jensen, ok?”

She smiles and nods. “O-o-okay, Mr. Ac-Jensen. Um...are...are you two dating?”

Jensen smiles. “That’s a very good question! While I would love to say yes, my response is only 50% true. Let’s see if it stays 50% or goes up to 100% true!”

You lift your head and glance at him as he turns his head to the side a little to look at you.

“What do you say, sweetheart? Am I only 50% correct? Or 100%?” He grins.

You smirk. “Well...as of right now, only 50%...”

The crowd gasps and his face falls a little bit.

“Only 50?” He asks.

You smirk. “Technically, you haven’t even asked me to be your girlfriend, Mister.”

Jensen chuckles while Jared laughs. You giggle and look at the young girl who asked if Jensen and you were dating.

“Until he asks me to be his girlfriend, he and I are just friends.” You say, smiling.

She giggles quietly into the microphone still in her hand. “That’s fair.”

The crowd starts chanting. “Ask her! Ask her!”

Jared starts chanting with them and starts smacking the arms of his chair.

Jensen laughs and raises one hand. “Alright. Alright.”

The crowd cheers and goes silent. The girl hands the microphone back to the convention attendant. You look back at Jensen, grinning.

“You don’t have to if you don’t wanna. Don’t have to give into peer pressure and all that.” You say.

He smirks. “Sweetheart, they never warned me about this type of peer pressure in school. And, it’s good they didn’t. They would have failed, epicly, ‘cause I’d give into it in a heartbeat. So...what do you say? Will you be my girlfriend?”

The crowd stays silent as everyone waits on bated breath for my response. Jared watches you, grinning, waiting. Jensen sucks in a deep breath as his shiny white teeth dig into his bottom lip. You lean your head back and bite your lip, pretending to think. The smile that you can’t stop from spreading across your face gives him your answer before you can get the words out.

He grins. “Yeah?”

You giggle. “Yeah! But! You still owe me 50 burgers and a dozen milkshakes!”

He, along with everyone else in the room, starts laughing. His arms tighten around you a little and he holds you closer.

“Yes, ma’am!” He smiles. “I’ll get you all the burgers and milkshakes your heart desires.”

You giggle. “Good. Then, yes. I’ll be your girlfriend. And, continue watching movies with you at midnight, Smooth Criminal.”

He laughs. “Hell yeah!”

Everyone in the crowd starts screaming excitedly and Jared stands up from his chair. He starts clapping loudly.

“Yes!” He says with a huge smile on his face. “This was definitely worth the risk of being turned into Moose Stew!”

You laugh and shake your head. “You’ll still pay for this, Jared! You’re buying the first round of 50 burgers and a dozen milkshakes!”

He laughs. “Deal!”

Lexi yells out. “KISS!! KISS!”

Pretty soon, the entire room is chanting it with her. You blush and look at Jensen.

“Are you ok with that? If not, we don’t have to-” He starts to say.

You cut him off by happily kissing him. You don’t know why you’re not nervous to do so, but you don’t complain. It just seems right. And, the moment you feel his lips against yours, and his words die off in the kiss, being replaced with a smile as he happily returns it, you know it was the right move to make. Oh, it was definitely right.

Everything in that moment just seems to slow down around you. Your eyes flutter close as your lips meet. The crowd’s cheers become almost silent. And, despite being in front of a large group of people with cameras flashing, suddenly, it’s like it’s only Jensen and you. Everything just falls into place. You never believed in kisses holding power like this...not until this moment.

You smile against his lips and a moment later, amidst a still loudly cheering crowd, you slowly pull back.

“Does that answer your question?” You tease.

He chuckles and nods fast. “It does. Now, let’s get outta here and do that again.”

“Woah woah woah...Wait till I leave you two alone. I wanna get food first.” Jared says, into his microphone causing everyone to laugh.

I liked the 'canon vs mine' meme thingy gelatingem started here and thought this would be fun to do :) I wanted to try and interpret his portrait into (maybe?) more accurate facial structures in my style since I'm trying to practice this more lately

I don't think my Shane is the most canon divergent but. He's definitely out there lol. And most of his main design changes, I do have a reason for besides self indulgence (tho yes that too) so here's. I guess an explanation?

some design things/headcanony things:

He's got two other tattoos - a bicep one you've seen, that changes depending on whether or not he's engaged :3c and a secret tat that i've drawn only once lol that u may see one day. I LOVE my friend's Shane where he has a full sleeve (u know who u are i'm feeling shy so not tagging u :P) but i'm not creative enough to think of more tattoos for him. I want him to have a tat on the back of his good leg though, just can't think of one that fits

I almost NEVER give him the same outfit. I just think it's more fun to try to tell stories through character's clothing (and hair) than trying to be consistent. I know that's bad character design but i don't care, it's more realistic that way to me

He has a surgical scar on his knee. I drew it differently in my other drawings but drawing this, i was like "you know what. I don't actually know what this surgery would leave for a scar" and did some unfortunate google searches for ref images. i like the other way better but this is more accurate and pretty sure no one noticed before ;) now u know

i play w the diversity mod and many of my designs for the characters i've drawn are riffs on those designs. i didn't use everyone's designs and Shane is one character that i was too stuck in my ways to change him too much -_- I hc he's half latino and half irish because the catholic guilt i feel from him is so palpable, even though i know that's not in universe, it just works for me. his last name is macnamara in my sims game

Happy holidays!!!! I don’t want to take up too much room so I’m going to throw some rambling and extras under the cut lol

So I don’t think nye has a tumblr, but on their twitter i saw that they were into VTube and youtaite and i wanted to incorporate that in their gift somehow. Unfortunately.... the characters are kind of all already anime??? So drawing-wise, i figured it would be more fun to go with a more general YouTuber AU so I could put in some variety rather than just stills of singing or badly rendered 3D models (by which i am throwing shade on myself alone, VTube rigs are sick but i regrettably have no 3D skills lol)

I’ve actually,,, never played Frontier at all, so I apologize if anyone is wildly out of character!! The wiki is extremely sparse and I didn’t have time to watch too too much of the let’s play i found, so if they’re not right just chalk it up to the YouTuber ~performance~ aspect of this AU lmao.

Even though I’ve never played before and don’t know the characters Super well though, I still had a lot of fun thinking about this AU! If you want to know the specifics of everyone’s content:

Anette does parkour (fun facts, this particular move i drew is called a speed vault!) and a little bit of vlogging, and she’s friends with Erik (as in canon, if I did my research correctly lmao). She sometimes appears on his channel and vice versa, and he helps her film and edit and stuff sometimes. She lives and works with Mist and Rosetta and helps out with their online boutique. Mist is the idea woman who comes up with crazy stuff, Rosetta is the realist and bookkeeper who pulls those ideas together into something feasible and profitable, and Anette handles all the packaging and shipments and stuff! There’s always something weird going on in their apartment and everyone ends up there a lot, so some of Anette’s vlogs get really popular just because of how out there they are lmao. Oh, almost forgot, but her channel is “DeliveryIsFreestyle” bc... get it... free delivery... freestyle parkour / freerunning... Lol actually it was almost going to be “RunTheMail” because i couldn’t think of anything at first so i think this was the right move in the end :P

Erik has a gaming channel where he mostly plays farming and dating sims / otome, and we don’t read too far into whether or not RF exists in this universe for him to play even though I put the posters for frontier on his wall xD. The reason I picked Stardew for this thumbnail specifically is because A) I have it and could easily take screenshots and B) i read that he has a crush on Lara? And she’s like, kind of a nurse? And Maru is kind of a nurse? It’s a silly joke but I thought it would be funny to cockblock him from dating a nurse he has his eyes on even in video gaming with his friends lol. His channel is pretty self-explanatory (I was really hoping his farm would have a fun name when i was looking it up but it’s really just “Erik’s Farm” huh? ...but I probably shouldn’t judge, my dnd character’s wolf is named Wolf xD)

Lute paints!! I think he does a lot of speedpaints and mostly does traditional art, but I think he would have some digital skills hidden up his sleeve as well. And also I don’t know why at all bc I know the least about him out of all 4 of them, but I feel like he has done / does some of those like “how to draw anime” videos because I just think that’s funny. He has a bunch of really popular ones about overly complicated fantasy outfits. No this is not a callout for any series in particular why do you ask? Anyway, I’m not sure exactly how the line goes because I couldn’t find it, but the wiki mentions that he’ll say he’s not doing anything suspicious when he’s painting at the lake, so i thought it would be funny if there’s some kind of running gag with his subscribers where they point out suspicious things he does and he responds in the next video or whatever. The thumbnail I made definitely does just have a screenshot of rff that’s color-corrected and blurred, because I ran out of time but also wanted to differentiate the bg from the canvas ^^; His channel was originally just “lute” in all lowercase but then i got to the part of the let’s play where he was introduced and he calls himself a “fledgling painter” so i thought this was more fun.

And Eunice has a cooking channel!! She specializes in baking, but she also has a whole playlist along the lines of “Nutritious Food Can Still Taste Good!” where she talks about healthy eating habits but doesn’t buy into diet culture bc I personally HATE diet culture lmao. I think when that gets popular, she also maybe does a side thing about easily accessible workouts for all sorts of people who want to get into shape? But with a focus on getting stronger / being active and Not a focus on Losing Weight necessarily. Promoter of healthy and happy living! I know how her events / dialogue can go in the game, i just happen to have Opinions About Things, so, that’s how she is in my version. Also, unrelated, but she’s very cute. Even though her braids were a bitch to draw hahaha. And i did end up drawing her just in her actual outfit even though i gave everyone else different clothes bc idk it just felt like it fit the aesthetic of a cooking vlog well?? And it’s not a super complicated one unlike others i could mention. Her channel is “Charming Sweets” and her cooking series is “My Cooking” because those are the titles of the books she has on her bookshelf at the start of the game :)

But that’s just all of *my* headcanons for the AU! If anyone else who knows them all better has their own ideas, please be my guest and imagine it however you like!!

Oh, also, fun facts, this is partially a screenshot of my actual web browser, lol, so if y’all want to know what all I have saved on my bookmarks bar and what my google profile pic is, now you know. However, i would like to not downplay how long i spent editing this in what was possibly the least efficient way to put it together how i wanted, rip, which is entirely the reason i am posting this so late LOL. Apologies for the delay, but technically it’s still the 27th here, so! Victory!

(speaking of the layout, did anyone catch the url? I’m disproportionately proud of the url. though i won’t lie part of me really wanted to put the rick roll url there just for my own amusement hahaha)
