Beau’s palm smacks against the side of the computer like that might somehow undo what he’s seeing. His other hand is still gripping the mop he just used to clean the entire space—because it was the end of the shift. The end of the shift. The chairs were up, the line was closed, and there was absolutely no way he was staring at a delivery order clocked in one minute before the ovens shut down.

He could pretend he didn’t see it. Could claim he’d been in the back, shutting everything off, and it was too late. But, God, this stupid system made refunds such a nightmare—

"Georgia!" he calls, snapping his head toward the dough counter, where his coworker had better be scrubbing down the last of the flour. "Georgia, judgment call!"

Having had left work early that day, and since they weren’t able to meet the night of the luncheon, Dilara invited Saul over for some dinner. It’d definitely been a couple of weeks since she cooked a proper meal so she took the liberty of doing so for them that night. Most of it was already done, lasagna off in the oven as well as the garlic bread she had struggled to replicate from her mother’s recipe. Dee was often too heavy handed when it came to garlic, loved the taste so much that she overdid it, but - with a heavy heart - for once she had followed the instructions as written. Taking one last look in the oven, Dee put a timer for the garlic breads and quickly returned to his side. “Alright,” she said, reaching to grab her glass of champagne before sliding beside him on the couch. “While we still have some time before dinner, tell me it all. How did it go? I heard a lot of people showed up.” She had done her best to wait, wanted to give them until after dinner, but her curiosity got the best of her. Dee figured it would be a hit - if not for the charity itself, then for the need to dress up and mingle - but she hoped it was a successful evening all around. And because she couldn't help herself she added yet another question to the pile, “Were you guys able to meet donations?”

Although the two held a similar worldview, a tendency to try and find the best in situations that seemed perpetually hopeless, the songstress could feel her friend's resolve faltering with each passing day, a reality that tugged at her own heartstrings. A lot of people in Anchorage seemed to bend to the darkness falling in town, and Val couldn't let the same fate befall someone as kind and open-hearted as Ros. Looking up from her own easel, the blonde felt a serene smile come over her features. "I love volunteerin' here. Seein' all the kids you guys help... it really puts things into perspective, especially with everything goin' on, dontcha think?"

Logan didn't mind Alex driving his truck around, especially when he had that glint in his eyes that gave Logan a smile and curious questions weren't answered. So the veteran allowed himself to gaze out the window while they cranked the music up, his arm resting against the door with the window rolled down.

However, he could somewhat start to tell where they were once they drove down certain roads. The GPS he helped Alex decipher took some alternate routes, but once they pulled into the parking lot, Logan was surprised but...confused.

"Here?" He asked Alex with a soft smile, taking his aviators off as he peeked over at his...him. Boyfriend didn't seem right yet, not without asking. Some people weren't into that. Even thinking it, Logan blushed and cleared his throat. "Well, I guess that explains why you wanted me to bring mine." His gun, that is. But that was a good thing: Logan would know what he's teaching Alex, if that is indeed what he's doing. "I assume you didn't come to just watch?"

To clear up any of the remaining confusion settling between his brows, Logan reaches over and takes Alex's hand in his own, a soft smile on his face as he feels himself release those nerves at the sensation.

taissa anxiously watches as the rest of the team leaves, pretending like she isn't watching for one specific person. she mutters a few "See you tomorrows" hoping that everyone just leaves as fast as possible. (don't any of them have lives?) a soft smile grows as she finally watches van walk up to her. "you did really good at practice today," she beams, eyes darting around to make sure everyone else had left. upon realizing that they were alone - taissa grabs van's hand with such a swift motion. "but then again...you're like the best person on the team, so." and more than anything else she's ever said - she does mean that.

pulling herself up off of the couch with a sigh, kayla closes the chat window where for the past hour she’d spent her morning talking with subscribers. it was at her boyfriends suggestion that she started becoming more involved, more active in what had originally just been a way for her to make some extra money in addition to her day job. her eyes flicker over to the tv, the clock on the corner of it setting her into motion when she realizes the time. " hey - " she calls out to him before appearing in the doorway to the bedroom where he still lingered, a slightly nervous pout curving her lips downward. she hated having to tell him when she was leaving but he’s made it clear he expected her to. " i’m gonna be late, i … gotta run now. "

So he unceremoniously flopped on her bed with a smile on his face so bright with pearly whites and the hint of dimples under his scruff, but...Becky did that to him. "Say I'm on your mind.." He muses, gazing up at her quietly.

He hadn't felt this light, this breathless, in so long. Probably since before everything had gone down, before everything changed. He grasped one of her hands in his own, eyes trailing down to the way they fit together. Pushing all the aches and pains in his bones and muscles away. "Cause every goddamn day, you're all over mine."
