Tom hums, wrinkling his eyebrows as he settles down next to her on the leather couch as everyone around them worked hard to get the place ready for the interview which would start any moment now.

As actors, Tom and (Y/N) could never take a day off, especially when they were in the center of the show. And in times like this, with the lady pregnant, Tom found himself worrying more and more about her; constantly asking whether she was fine or not, if she needed something or not.

No wonder her cousins and mother started teasing him by calling him a “mother”.

“Hello, Tom and (Y/N),” greeted the lady who was supposed to take their interview. The pair smiled brightly, greeting the lady back whose name they learnt to be Bianca.

“Are we ready?” The director asked, earning a couple of nods from the crew and thumbs up from the guests. “Well then. Lights. Camera and Action.”

And then began the interview.

The beginning was always the same; introductions, their achievements, a few questions about their current show. But after that came the personal part, one that rendered the actor a bit uncomfortable as he tried to keep his life to himself.

“So, you two have a daughter together and another little Hiddleston is on the way,” the interviewer states with a smile, making the couple glance at each other with smile as (Y/N) placed a hand over her overgrown bump. “Yes.”

“And your daughter’s name is Kavya, isn’t it?” Bianca queries, struggling with the pronunciation for a while before Tom helps her. “Yes. We decided on an Indian name because they just sound so… soothing. Like hot chocolate in winters,” Tom gushed, his face reddening up as he glanced at his wife.

“Awww… that’s sweet. (Y/N), how is the pregnancy going for you?”

“Honestly, everything is fine except for the cravings,” she whined, making the Loki actor burst into a fit of laughter as he remembered the many nights when he woke up to finding his wife cooking some Indian dish or digging deep into the kitchen cabinets to find Maggi.

“What do you crave?” Bianca asks, her eyes gleaming with happiness as she watched her favourite Hollywood couple share a glance before laughing. Once the laughter dies down, Tom replies, “it can be the weirdest thing. One second she wants to have Jalebi and the next she wants to find some Namkeen.”

“I am the mix of sweet and savoury,” she argues instantly, making him smile as he nodded, leaning in to place a kiss on her temple, “meri khatti-meethi.”

(Y/N) merely gave him a side eye before returning her focus to their interviewer who had started her next question. “Correct me if I am wrong, but you were pregnant when you were about to finish shooting for this show, right?”

The couple nodded, prompting Bianca to continue, “did you crave anything on the set?” Before the misses could answer, Tom lets out a dramatic sigh before answering, “one fine morning, she comes to my trailer, donning her costume, and literally commands me ‘I want to have fish curry made by my mother, so talk to her, take the recipe and cook it.’ And leaves before I could nod. I was so bewildered and like what should I do.”

Everyone around them laughed loudly except for (Y/N) who glared daggers at her husband before leaning in to whisper softly into his ear.

“I want to eat Samosa.”

The night was surprisingly cold for summer. Asra’s skin prickled with goosebumps as he rolled up the sleeves of his coat; he didn’t want them getting in the way of setting up camp. He unfastened his luggage to get his tent out. Pulling it out was a bit of a struggle  — it got tangled up with a few of the books and scrolls he had haphazardly stuffed in his bag while packing. Just as he was about to pull it out fully, one of the lines of the tent caught on a corner of a book and stretched quite a bit before slipping off. It hit him in the leg with full force.

‘Ow, shit!’ Asra jumped a bit at the impact. What started as a sharp sting quickly turned into burning. He lifted the leg of his pants to check the damage. His skin slowly grew darker in the spot where the line hit.

Asra sighed through his nose and reached into his bag again, this time looking for some soothing ointment to help the irritated skin. It was a good thing that blasted line hadn’t drawn blood — he wasn’t sure if he had any bandages on him, especially clean ones.

As he was patting the ointment onto the forming bruise — Julian’s own blend, apparently —  he noticed a probing, familiar presence at the edge of his mind. The symbol on his chest, normally hidden from view by his clothes, shone faintly through the thin fabric of his shirt.

Asra smiled, bruise and ointment both forgotten. He sat down cross-legged next to his bag, with the tent still sticking out of it. He made sure to face away from the still-bright lights of the village he was staying near — right at the border between small, white houses and the plane of grass surrounding them. He didn’t want the village’s people to see the symbol on his chest; what it represented was too touchy of a subject to share with near-strangers. They’d be sure to ask about it if they spotted it shining beneath his shirt. And they would spot it if given the chance to — most of the people who were still outside were young, their eyes still sharp. 

Besides… What he was about to do was a tad bit too intimate to do facing others.

You were busy packing an order at your shop. The sun was setting — it’d almost disappeared beneath the horizon. It was getting pretty dark, the brightness of the day giving way to growing dimness.

‘Yes, thank you very much.’ They said, taking the merchandise off the table. They paid what was due and left through the open front door, wishing you a good night.

You liked them quite a lot — they were a regular in your shop — always made sure to stop by and buy something whenever they took a trip to this part of Vesuvia. But even their customary pleasantries and sunny attitude hadn’t cured your exhaustion.

You circled the front desk of your shop and went to the front door. You closed it with a heavy sigh. The lock clicked into place; you left the key inside it to spare yourself fetching it tomorrow.

Despite how tired you were, you still had to clean up the place. Tomorrow was still a work day, so you couldn’t leave your shop looking a mess.

You picked up a few parchment scrolls you’d used earlier in the day to roll them back up when you felt a familiar presence at the edge of your heart. It seemed like Asra finally answered your call.

Smiling, you sat down in a nearby chair and got to work on rolling the first scroll up. A wave of new sensation washed over you, taking you somewhere different.

You smelled fresh, crispy night air, tinted with a bit of incense Asra always carried with them in their travel bag. You felt grass beneath their folded legs as if they were your own. You heard voices from somewhere behind you — adults talking, children playing, a dog barking. Your leg stung a bit where the rope hit theirs. You frowned. Did they pack that ointment Julian made for them? Did the skin break? You didn’t think it did, there was no scent of blood in the air. Still, you worried.

Calmness rushed into your heart; you knew it was Asra soothing you. You took a deep breath, grateful for the reassurance. Everything was okay. They were okay.

Asra put a hand over his heart, right where the symbol was. Its light shone through the gaps between his fingers; it felt like warmth, it felt like home. It felt like you.

Leaving you these days was different from leaving you before you learned the truth about what happened. Before, every time he left, he was running away from you. There was a tinge of shame to it all. How a part of him feared coming back and looking you in the face again, knowing you didn’t know, couldn’t know about how the guilt tore him apart. How you didn’t know he had abandoned you once — and what it’d done to you.

Now, he longed for the day he’d see you again every time he left to restock the shop’s supplies. It was like being able to breathe after being submerged in water for far too long. No more fear, no more shame. Because now he didn’t have to hide from you.

He felt the plush softness of the chair you were in and the scrolls moving beneath your fingers. He heard the paper rustling as you rolled it back into place. Could smell the dust on it and the herbs drying by the windows of the shop. He could see the shadows flickering on the wall in front of you; if he reached out his hand, he could almost touch them.

Being with you like this eased the bitterness of being apart. Physically, he might be away, but anytime the loneliness was too much to bear, he could just reach out to you and you would answer. Always, without fail. Just as he would answer you.

Your feelings flowed through him in a steady stream. Comfort, love, tiredness. You should go to sleep, damn the cleaning. You could always do it in the morning.

No, there’s too much to do to leave it all for later, he thought. Thinking it was almost like you speaking to him, through him, but not quite. He still couldn’t put a finger on what it was exactly, but he had more than enough time to figure it out. He’d find out eventually.

-> childe always had murderous intent on men who’d look at you the way he looks at you. he didn’t do anything about it, though. besides, getting rid of bodies is a haste and it’s immoral of him to kill innocent people just because he’s jealous.

-> childe thought it was just his bloodthirst hitting him whenever he gets jealous over you giving other people attention and starts imagining scenarios of killing the said people over and over again. he shrugged the feeling off thinking it was no big deal.

-> besides, what he has that others don’t have is your attention, your undying love for him. that is enough for the harbinger to believe that no man could ever steal you away from him, not when you love him as much as he to you.

-> then he wondered, what has gotten you so zoned out and flustered?

-> childe was but happy when he found out that the consultant of the wangsheng funeral parlor is starting to court you — you, the person he can only accept as his soulmate and the light of his life.

-> he found out the news on the day when he was supposed to ask you out on a lovely dinner by the pearl gallery. devastated isn’t just what the harbinger was feeling — he was also feeling angry and betrayed. devastated that you’re someone else’s, angry that zhongli of all people stole you away from him, and betrayed that you’d treat him as if you love him and throw him away like a toy.

-> he knew these feelings of his wasn’t normal the moment he choked the life out of a merchant who was just asking a question about you and zhongli.

-> he wonders if you’d still look at him the same if you somehow found out what he did.

-> just seeing you with zhongli made his blood boil, glaring daggers at the consultant. oh how childe wished to kill that look on his face whenever he looks at you. childe thinks that only he is allowed to look at you with lovesick eyes, not zhongli, not anyone else. just childe and childe alone.

-> he hated how zhongli always block your figure from him whenever the harbinger tries to stalk you, it’s as if the consultant is aware that you and him are being watched.

-> childe then concluded that he should get rid of zhongli.

-> instead of trying to go for the kill, childe decided to go for manipulation first. he tried to trick you into thinking that zhongli was a bad man, trick you into thinking the consultant was having an affair— basically everything that zhongli wouldn’t do.

-> the harbinger obviously underestimated you and zhongli’s capability of fixing problems as a couple. every lie childe threw at you, your lover knew how to fix it and prove to you that he hadn’t done such things.

-> what made things worse is zhongli successfully making you no longer talk to childe. how dare he?

-> the man’s heart would break every time you avoid him, and would think; why can’t you look at him anymore? isn’t he your knight and shining armor? your companion? the person you’d turn to when sad? what has zhongli done to you?

-> this is when childe’s obsession peaks.

0:51 | you won, and she chose you, and she loved you, and she’s gone. it’s over isn’t it? why can’t i move on?

-> he’ll try killing zhongli if all of his manipulation goes to waste. whether it’d be food-poisoning him, ambush the consultant who was outside of the harbor doing only celestia knows what, every effort that doesn’t have you seeing him kill. the last thing he wants is you thinking he killed your lover and make matters worse than it already is.

-> however, it always felt like the consultant was one step ahead. every move that childe threw at, zhongli managed to dodge it all. intentionally or unintentionally, childe will never know.

-> it irritated him to no end. why the hell is he not dying?!

-> he’ll see this as a game. a dirty game that childe cannot afford to lose. you are the grand prize and zhongli is his obstacle that is preventing the harbinger from getting to you.

-> if childe had the chance to strangle the consultant, he would take it. anything that can make you stop looking at the harbinger as if childe is your enemy — an opponent you despise.

-> he then wondered, has zhongli finally told you of the sins the harbinger committed?

-> he’s pretty envious of the consultant, he’ll admit. every time he sees you with zhongli, he often dreamt of what could’ve been as images of killing zhongli washes his mind away, replacing images of you and zhongli into you and him together.

-> as he continues to dream of you being his, childe’s eyes darken at the thought of achieving his dream to kill.

-> it seems that the tsaritsa has heard his wishes, for the day of when he finally sees zhongli crumbling came. zhongli wasn’t the only one who crumbled.

1:05 | war and glory, reinvention. fusion, freedom, her attention. out in daylight, my potential — bold, precise, experimental.

-> as soon as he received a letter from the tsaritsa herself that his mission in liyue will come to an end once he steals the gnosis from rex lapis, who is disguised as a human that goes by zhongli - the man is excited.

-> his plan was already coming together. all he needs to do is lure the traveler to the golden house, defeat aether, and then summon osial to make zhongli reveal himself to the harbinger with no one stopping him.

-> what he didn’t plan was for you to be by the seas and got affected from osial’s wrath.

-> as soon as he came back to the northland bank with the gnosis - he heard the news of your death.

-> “you didn’t hear, childe?” la signora asked, staring at the gnosis of rex lapis that she grabbed from childe. “your precious y/n died by the seas when you summoned osial.”

-> childe stares at the lady in disbelief. “y/n... is dead? because of me?”

-> the woman ignored his question, keeping the gnosis away and looks at childe. “the tsaritsa expects you to be back by next week, she’d like to talk about your reward for getting rex lapis’s gnosis.” she explains before walking away, leaving the harbinger alone.

-> by the docks of the harbor was an injured zhongli, who was holding onto your corpse as the crowd watches the consultant in pity and grief.

1:18 | who am i now in this world without her? petty and dull with the nerve to doubt her.

-> he tried to kill himself the day after the announcement of your death, only to be stopped when he found out his little brother, the only other person that mattered other than you and his family, was in liyue looking for his precious brother. he realized he was too blinded about your death that he forgot that he has a family waiting for him.

-> he really wanted to thank aether and paimon for deciding to take care of teucer, he didn’t know how long he would last before breaking down in front of his brother if he mentions your name again.

-> childe had to prevent himself from breaking down when teucer asked where you were.

-> the whole week, childe watched zhongli prepare your funeral while secretly funding it. he ignored the glares from citizens as he walks around the harbor, not caring what they think. all he can think of was how your blood is on his hands, how it was his foolishness that caused you to die so early.

-> to distract himself from the pain of your death, he decided to hunt down monsters all around the nation and kill. however, no amount of bloodshed could distract the man enough. all he could think of was how you must’ve suffered a lot as the seas washed you away to death’s arms.

-> the day of your funeral came.

-> childe decided to stand far away from where the funeral is, knowing that he wasn’t welcomed to grief near you and your peers. he didn’t mind how zhongli gave him one glance of anger before ex-archon continue to grief beside your coffin.

-> childe knew your death is his punishment for the sins he committed to try to make you his. he wished he could turn back in time to stop himself from summoning osial. it doesn’t matter if you still have to be with zhongli — as long as you live and breathe, then the harbinger would be satisfied.

-> he would rather lose you to someone else than losing you from death.

-> it felt like the world was monotone without you.

Diluc: Comfort HCs

Oh no worries anon! We’re getting through everything and I can just see the top. I’m not sure if people saw it - probably not - but my entire blog has devolved into “See this genshin character? Animal.” and I refuse to have another cat character so I’m making Diluc a hawk.  

Apparently (maybe) Diluc’s bird is a nightingale [voicelines]. But I don’t really see Diluc the kind of guy to serenade you at night in secret because your father doesn’t approve of your marriage.

Diluc: Comfort HCs

Diluc has always had either an aloof or professional persona based on who he needed to talk to. In both cases, no matter the subject or how Diluc talked, there would always be some sort of forced distance so no one would mistaken it as familiarity or friendliness. There were only a two cases where he felt comfortable and those were with close friends and his staff. The third case being Kaeya but Diluc prefers to not acknowledge him and stashes that folder away. Even with friend’s such as Jean or Elzer, he could never really relax and let his true feelings slip until you burst into his life. Literally. “An unexpected outcome of an experiment,” is what Albedo had told him but regardless, since you entered his life he’s let himself regress into his younger days and let himself take for once.

Maybe that was why you had gotten so used to Diluc’s touched starved self that, when it was suddenly gone, you were feeling uneasy. Lately Diluc seemed to be spending longer hours at his desk or working at the tavern. You knew that he was just busy and there wasn’t any underhanded reasoning behind it, Diluc wasn’t that kind of guy. But did he seriously have to spend every waking moment, day or night, talking to the same people? When was the last time you saw him for more than two minutes? Diluc isn’t a big fan of idle talking but would it seriously hurt just to catch up? You didn’t even get together to have your weekly chess matches too.

You didn’t consider yourself a very clingy person and you knew what a relationship with Diluc was going to be like so why were you getting so bothered? You decided to take the situation in your hands and go visit him at the tavern only to see him so busy at work. It both made you a bit huffy, you wanted to storm in there and drag the man away from his work so he could stop trying to speed run life - not like that would ever happen because the second hand embarrassment would make you dissolve into the ground and you could never show your face to Diluc if you actually did that - but also making you more upset. Here he was, working and running his business, and you couldn’t go at least a couple weeks without seeing him. You ended up turning around and going home to scream into your pillow and sleep the heavy feeling away.

Your inner turmoil seemed to seep out into the open that Kaeya felt the need to bring it up. As much as Diluc dislikes Kaeya around you, he really does care about you and he still does owe you for the troubles he gave you when you first started going out with Diluc. He catches you while you’re off running errands and manages to coax you into getting some lunch with him. You’ve been bottling up your feelings so much that when Kaeya shows some concern you let it all pour out. At this point you don’t care if it’s Kaeya of all people you’re confessing your feelings to, you just want to get it off your chest because the man you’re in love with doesn’t seem to notice you’re actually there and it’s making you feel insecure about yourself. Kaeya gives you a sympathetic smile and tells you not to worry about it, he’ll personally knock some sense into Diluc.

Diluc’s been hard at work on another possible Fatui plan and business with the winery that he can’t help but feel that he was missing something. Was he overlooking something? He had planned this for a while so everything should be perfect. It wasn’t until Kaeya himself had to walk in, press his hand on the tavern counter, and call him an idiot that he realizes that he had been so wrapped up in his work and personal duties that he completely neglected you. He quickly passes his duties to Charles with a quick apology, throws his coat on, gives Kaeya a very strained thank you, and he’s out the door to find you. He’s already lost so much so he’ll be damned if he looses you. Not right now. 

You gave him the key to your home after a few months of being together, in case his he needed to temporarily hide should his night activities get the best of him. He’s already at your door in seconds as he quickly unlocks and steps in. 

“Beloved?” he softly calls out to not accidently scare you but he receives no reply. It’s dark inside but he can see your shoes at the door so he knows you’re inside somewhere. He softly closes and locks the door as he hangs his coat up. Carefully running a hand down the fabric and beside your coat as he looks around your small home. He’s always felt it was warm even when you weren’t here. The “home” he has will always be the place he grew up in but after everything that’s happened, he feels a bit alienated in there so he always appreciated that you lent him a key.

He catches the sound of some shuffling and follows the sound to see you under your blankets. He breathes a quick sigh of relief that you weren’t in any danger as he carefully circles around your bed before gently placing a hand on your back. He’s never been good at words or communicating his feelings so he’s at a bit of a standstill. Despite his reputation of being a nobleman of high esteem, you’re his first serious relationship. As far as he’s concerned you’re going to be his only relationship for that matter.

“I...apologize for my recent behaviour. It was never my intention to hurt you. I ended up letting myself get too blinded to see you were in pain and that was my fault. You don’t have to forgive me now but won’t you let me see your face my love?” he asked in all his awkward pose, put him in front of massive event and he’ll perform with flying colours but put him in front of his partner and he stumbles over his worlds like a new born fawn. But it seems to bring a small laugh from you as you peek from under the covers. 

He smiles softly as he sees your ears flush pink. No matter how many times he calls you that you always get so shy, he adores it. But he can feel the guilt rise up in his chest, you’ve always been there to support and reassure him that he was doing everything right. That things were going to be okay when he re-took his father’s business and you would be with him every step of the way. So in the best and awkward way that Diluc can manage, he tells you this. By the time he’s done he can feel his own face start to pink but it’s made you feel better so it was worth it. 

“Feeling better?” he smiles softly as you nod up at him as he lays down beside you, opening his arms in comfort, “Good, come here.” 

You shuffle closer to him as he holds you. It’s been awhile since he’s held you like this and even without realizing it, he’s missed this. Just you and him together, basking in each other’s presence. No work that needed to be attended to. No Fatui trying to cause him any more trouble. It was a safe place and one he didn’t want to let go.  

“What if we got married?”

There’s a beat of silence. 

Then a thud. 

You end up scrambling and falling off your bed face first. It’s a bit silent as you give off a pain groaned and climb back up and he can see your face has exploded red. He can almost see steam coming off as you try and nurse your nose. He blinks a bit at you taken aback as you stutter and scream into your hands as your brain seems to process what he just asked. You lift your face from your hands to look at him, somehow go even redder, and scream louder into your hands. He’s not sure if this is something he should be offended or concerned about but the weight he had been feeling earlier starts to fade away as a new and familiar feeling bubbles up. For the first time in half a month, Diluc let’s out a laugh as he tries to console you as you manage out a yes.

Hi! I was wondering if you could do Hawks with a support engineer s/o? Like they make his support items (not that he uses many) and upgrade his costume and he takes that time to flirt and make them flustered and it’s all really cute and fluffy

Ooookay, hear me out! I started this as some cute hcs but I decided I'd rather write a small fic since I somehow felt if would be better and ended up sticking with it in hopes you don't mind. I really hope it's what you wanted and that you like it 💕💞💕

Keigo really didn't pay much attention to his support department; he knew he had one, of course, yet anything that needed to be tested by him would've had to be approved and re-approved by his higher ups, then passed to his side-kicks, and then, with luck it would reach him.

One day everything in his life changed as a request to test a new pair of goggles was placed on his desk by his secretary. His last pair has been smashed in a small battle with what seemed an insignificant villain so this seemed like the perfect time to test new prototypes.

He sighed, getting up from his chair in a stretch, scratching his stubble in wonder. Does he even know where his support department is?

You sighed, checking the tiny locators on your desk through a frown. The past few weeks have been exhausting to say at least.

When you first arrived at Hawks', The Hawks' Hero Agency as a junior support designer life seemed like it was heading into the right direction, yet as you reached your first month mark, the fact that there weren't any other junior designers started to make so much sense. Nobody payed any attention to the newbies, which was infuriating, degrading, unmotivating... but you had to fight through and not quit as the last ones did. It was a competitive business and you almost reached the bottom of the top, why settle there? So as your superior ignored you, you started learning more about your Hero's costume and it surprised you to note that he barely had any supporting items. Hell, even those goggles were... plain? He could do so much more! And as you made plans and started building, you made reports of all the prototypes created and jumped to send them to the higher-ups without even informing your seniors. It never hurts to try, right?

"Ah, finally, I've been running around in this building for-e-ver!" Someone said behind you, startling the living hell out of you which ended up with paperwork thrown everywhere.

You turned in shock already recognizing the voice behind you. Your eyes, wide as plates, landed on the man that you've been studying meticulously for the past few months.

Crimson feathers surrounded you as an amused smirk formed on his features. They started catching and picking up the papers surrounding your figure and gently placing them on the desk.

"Well, hello there~." He said, stepping in your office with curiosity, sharp eyes taking in his surroundings with just a glance then setting back on you.

"Mister Hawks." You cleared your throat and adjustes your apron.

"Mister? How old do you think I am, dove?" He said, shaking his head and laughing.

Ah, great, now I insulted my boss. You dryly thought.

"23, sir." he gasped, putting a hand on his chest.

"Sir?!?" before you could apologize, if there was something to apologize for, he continued in a dramatic way. "How could I allow an angel to call me sir? Please, it's just Hawks." He smiled and you squirmed in place.

You heard he was easy going, a very laid back yet lovely individual, but the way he called you any nickname in the book made your cheeks burn. You avoided his eyes, as they were intensely observing you, and cleared your throat.

"What do I owe the pleasure, sir—" you stopped yourself as he opened his mouth and lifted his finger to, you assumed, scold you "—Hawks...?"

"Oh? You don't know?" He looked around trying to find something, his face lighting up when spotting it. "I came to test a new pair of goggles, of course!"

It's then when you really took in the condition of your office. A disaster. The higher-ups sent Hawks there without even notifying you! You could've cleaned up! And they sent Hawks to test your goggles! THE OFFICE IS A MESS AND THE NUMBER 2 HERO IS IN IT TO TEST YOUR—!

"Oh, my god..." you muttered, not really believing it's really happening. It's the same reaction you had when you landed this job yet now it was turning into reality.

"Sorry to interrupt that train of thought—" he paused. "Excuse me, I don't even know your name. The audacity!"

"Oh! It's [L/N] [Y/N], sir."

"Hawks." His smile, which was heartwarming, never left his face.

"Hawks." You repeated, heart hammering in your chest even when being playfully scolded by your boss.

"So! What's a beautiful little feather like you doing in a place like this?" He inquired, obviously way too into the moment. Keigo could feel your beating heart from where he was standing and could clearly read your amazed expression. He guessed you were new in the department and gave himself a lecture about not coming here beforehand. With a sight like you he would've been in the support department every single day.

At the same time as he was taking you in, you needed to do something to keep yourself busy from his face, his voice and his words, so you turned around and started cleaning up a little bit. He called me a beautiful little what now? you panicked, dreading you'd bite your tongue or something when answering back.

"I work here." Nice one, [Y/N]. you cringed in place. But instantly deducted it would be better to maintain a professional environment instead of leading on what seemed to be just a flirty attitude.

"I can see that, yes." Keigo really tried to keep himself from chuckling. How could such an adorable being exist in his close proximity and he didn't notice? In any way, the blond felt bad for making you nervous so he deflected the situation. "About those goggles then!"

"Oh, yes!" You turned towards him with a smile, the excited sparkle in your eyes taking his breath away for a second. "First of all, I'm sorry about the mess, I wasn't informed you were coming—"

"Oh, we can change that from now on." He chimed in, earning a pause and a tilted head in confusion from you. "If you give me your number I could tell you whenever I'm coming! Easy!"

Have you ever had a moment where your brain stopped functioning for a whole minute? Exactly that happened.

"You could— ehem, you could tell your secretary to inform me before you arrive." You sheepishly said, still trying to deflect in the best way you could. He had such an ease to make you embarrassed, apart from the fact that you didn't know for sure if he was playing with you or not. Remain professional. Not like you could be as smooth as him anyway...

"Aww." He pouted.

"The goggles!" You jumped, trying to distract yourself from that sight.

As you settled them in front of him and started explaining every new detail about them, such as the new auto face-recognition they had implemented, voice command, personalized A.I. and more, he could only watch you in wonder. A few moments ago you were overwhelmed and flustered at his behaviour, which he wouldn't lie, he really enjoyed to see, but this confident person talking so passionately about their work made him beam. He took in your features, the complex words you threw at him settling in the backround of his mind as he noted he'd have to ask you what they meant just to have the excuse to get to hear you talk again and again. He didn't know why he loved the way you wrinkled your nose when you told him how hard it was to get access to the national database, he definitely didn't know why he savored the way your giggle made his good ol' heart skip a beat, he absolutely had zero idea why he was entranced by the way your lips curved in a smile...

Oh, he knew. Of course he knew.

"Could you add Spotify?" He found himself asking.

"... What?" You blinked stupidly at him.

"Or Netflix. Can you add Netflix?"

"I— What?" He snickered.

"Can you?"

"I mean, yes—" Did he brush off your whole work just to ask you to add Netflix?

"Great! Can you do it by tomorrow?"

"Y-yeah?"

"Awesome! How do you like your coffee?"

"Uhm, why?" You muttered.

"Because I will drop by and I'd like to treat you with coffee."

"Oh, that's nice. Thank you, it's—" you told him your favorite coffee in wonder as you watched him play with the goggles casually. Is this Hawks? A flirty airhead?

The goggles sounded absolutely amazing, no doubt of that, but he definitely needed an excuse to come by tomorrow, also giving him time to come with other excuses to return again and again after that. Something told him he had to see your beautiful face again and he was the type of man to trust his instincts.

"Okay, noted." He nodded to himself. "I'm sorry to say it's my time to patrol but at least I found a loop-hole to keep seeing you!"

How could one single man make you short-circuit twice in such little time span? Your absolutely baffled expression was worth a million bucks in Keigo's opinion and the adorable little lip pursing that followed was the cherry on top.

Yet what he didn't expect was for you to grin through your flustered expression.

"I'll add some actually good pick-up lines as a widget in the corner too, then." You shrugged.

And seeing Hawks baffled? Nothing else topped that.

Ehhh bichie definitely does fill stereotypes, Richie is usually portrayed as the mega uke bottom and Bill is the stoic seme top in that case. I remember on twitter this was particularly bad in eastern fandom, where bichie was the most popular pairing in Japan, but Richie was made to be a stereotypical uke. Honestly, I don't think there is a single mlm ship in existence that escapes this kind of thing 🤔

And to get even more armchair psychologist over why these stereotypes exist, I’d say it has a lot to do with who the shippers favorite character is. I’ve never seen a mlm shipper who didn’t have their favorite character as the “bottom” half of the ship. This is why the top half of a ship is essentially used as a sentient dick, only their to bang their favorite character. This is why I tend to read “who’s the top/bottom” arguments as code for “my favorite character should get the focus” 🤔

Oooo that is soooo interesting. How in the western fandom, its Reddie that were forced to fit that popular stereotype. Where as in eastern culture it was Bichie. Thank you so much for bringing that international perspective!

As far as Bichie in western culture… at least the fic I have seen has mostly been Richie topping and Bill bottoming. Make of that what you will.

However I’m not sure I agree with your second argument. Only because I’M not like that. I’m a mlm shipper, have been for over a decade, and I don’t find myself wishing that my favourite character is the bottom in pairings. Quite the opposite actually. And I can’t be the only one right?

I actually think I’ve developed a bit of a complex about it. Historically all of my favourite characters have usually been assigned the “bottom” role by fandom and I’ve often raged against it. Not because I have anything against bottoms but, I just kinda didn’t understand WHY it always had to be that way. It just seemed so silly. Just because a character was physically smaller, or “prettier”, they were automatically assigned this “role”, regardless of their personality or actions. And it was frustrating and it got really boring to read.

So yeah, am I the exception to this rule? Surely thats not true right? 

But then again, I think as a result of my complex I have developed a perma-swicth HC. Like it doesn’t matter who the character is, what they look like, what their personality is, if they are in a same-sex relationship then I always HC them as switches/vers. Soooo…. thats a thing. 

I’d be interested to hear other peoples thoughts. Do you fit in with what anon is saying about mlm shippers? Or do you find yourself wanting your favourite character as the top more? Or are you a perma-switch HC’er like me? Interesting stuff.

Music and Crosses

Something i’ve been wanting to discuss regarding my Crosses for Xenoblade Chronicles X. It’s all dumb little song HC’s under the cut: 

Part of what i use to develop most characters would be what songs I associate with them. My Crosses are no different. I usually set up playlists for these characters mostly based off my own tastes but the outcomes are usually varied. Zedryk’s musical emphasis is on electronic music and leans more towards lyrical ones. For Kaidris, its less music mainstream and more fandom as she has mostly instrumental tracks from games. Aldra also is associated with electronic music much like her partner Zedryk, but her tastes also include rock and is much faster paced. And being a mechanical kid growing up, Estela’s emphasis combines EDM and vocal synths. 

The personal songs for the characters focus on the lyrics and each person backstory. Shared songs are more of an aesthetic bond. 

Starting with Zedryk, his personal song is Lionhearted - Porter Robinson 

With his daughter Estela they share Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk (Zedryk ver) (Estela Ver)
