The way that Paul Shapera presents love in The Puppetshade Chronicles, specifically the second album, is so fascinating to me.
You have Jes, who declares "love is perfect, love is all" before shooting the girl she loves at the end of the first album, claiming it's the only way to prevent Jenna suffering and betraying her. At the end of the second album, she kills Molly after finding out that she wasn't tortured into betraying her but actually wanted to abolish the monarchy of her own volition. Jes claims "now the girl I love is gone". To me, it seems like Jes has such an idealised view of love that anything that doesn't live up to her perfect expectations must be eradicated. It fits with her character, being a princess who's used to getting what she wants and views anything inconvenient to her as unacceptable. But before she kills Molly, she hesitates and changes her mind multiple times, almost like her view of love is shattering as she realises that it isn't perfect, that it doesn't guarante that there will be no conflict between people who love each other.
This is even more interesting compared to Paisley Piper's view of love. She thinks that love is painful and maddening. She says that love can be sweet, but ultimately it will entice you and drive you crazy. And yet at the end of the album she decides to go and rescue her love. Entirely the opposite to Jes, she acknowledges the pain caused by love and how it's far from perfect, but decides to help the person she loves.
Then you have Oki, who seems entirely dissilusioned with love (and every aspect of existence), saying that his friend Jeza said "love was just a fleeting treat, illusion to me now." He's clearly been caused a lot of pain by love and is definitely going through a sadistic phase, but seems to genuinely love the other Puppetshades.
And all this just makes me wonder how Jenna, L3X and Yery will think of love now. Jenna has been betrayed by a person who claimed to love her, L3X loves Jenna but her love makes him feel guilty, Yery has had the person he loved most killed. They've all seen people they love murdered. And then there's Cobalt Rose, who can almost be seen as a metaphor for how people who are loves live on in the memories of those who loved them. I think love is such a fascinating driving force and motivation behind this story and I can't wait to see how this theme develops.

"MY BOY" — LYRICS Songwriters: Bill Martin/Phil Coulter/Claude Francois/Jean-Pierre Bourtayre You're sleeping son, I know But really, this can't wait I wanted to explain Before it gets too late For your mother and me Love has finally died This is no happy home But God knows how I've tried Because you're all I have, my boy You are my life, my pride, my joy And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy I know it's hard to understand Why did we ever start? We're more like strangers now Each acting out a part I have laughed, I have cried I've lost every game Taken all I can take But I'll stay here just the same Because you're all I have, my boy You are my life, my pride, my joy And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy Sleep on, you haven't heard a word Perhaps it's just as well Why spoil your little dreams Why put you through the hell Life is no fairy tale As one day you will know But now you're just a child I'll stay here and watch you grow Because you're all I have, my boy You are my life, my pride, my joy And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy Because you're all I have, my boy You are my life, my pride, my joy And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy Yeah, because you're all I have, my boy You are my life, my pride, my joy And if I stay, I stay because of you, my boy Oh, because you're all I have

THE TAKE 2 Studio Sessions for RCA · December 13, 1973: Stax Studios, Memphis Please, read what Ernst Jorgensen says about the moment "My Boy" was being recorded, and listen to the take. -- The next night Elvis began with a song from his live repertoire, “My Boy,” which had been included in the August Las Vegas show. The song told the traumatic tale of losing a child through divorce, but Elvis wanted to be done with it fast. When Felton pushed for a third take, he exploded: “I told you to get this goddamn thing in two takes. I can’t sing it no more.” Take three was actually better; it lacked the long fade out Felton wanted, but he knew better than to ask for another, confident that he could loop it in mixing to get the effect he wanted. Excerpt: "Elvis Presley, A Life in Music: The Complete Recording Sessions" by Ernst Jorgensen. Foreword by Peter Guralnick (1998) -- So, when I first read this part of Jorgensen's book I hadn't listen to that take yet, but now that I did I don't take Elvis' comment as "he exploded", do you? If that was Elvis exploding, I have to reconsider a lot of the stories about his supposed short-tempered moments. Just saying. He sounded pretty like just casually commenting rather than snapping at Felton like the description of the moment made it look like. Still, I personally think that comment came for a reason, maybe EP was too polite - or too embarrassed - to show how affected by the lyrics of that song he was. Below is the take two alone, if you prefer to go straight to the point go to min. 3:50.

I must have been the only person in the fandom who hadn't seen this picture before. So cute! I'm meltinnnggg! Is it real? Looks edited, IDK. Anyway, what are your thoughts about Elvis' recording of My Boy? Do you think it had a meaning to him?

shuffle your favorite playlist and post the first five songs that come up. then copy/paste this ask to your favorite mutuals
hello friend. ❤ i think you sent this to me in april of 2024 so surely finding it in my drafts and actually responding to it in january 2025 is, like, normal. and stuff.
to make things better and/or worse, i'm going to be incapable of keeping this short. this is from my playlist just called "thai", which i need to start splitting up in some way that makes sense, rather than throwing everything in a pile, but i haven't done that yet, so it has 219 songs in it, nearly all of which are there due to some sense of emotional attachment:
-
สะมะกึ๊กสะมะกั๊ก (stuckling) - earth & mix ft. jennie panhan
fjdkfd okay, look. we're starting off strong with a song i skip half the time it comes on, but it stays on the list because it does also make me go <3 when i'm reminded of it. this is the OST for ossan's love thailand and it's very nearly unlistenable to me and i deeply love it. the MV is very loud chaos in its purest form (i thought that was true about the peaceful property MV and in hindsight that was SO wrong. the peaceful property MV is goofy in its own way but it's almost demure next to this). bonus points for featuring jennie panhan! i don't know how this series will turn out yet (it's a remake of a japanese property, a type of history on which gmmtv (the company behind this) has a mixed record so far) but GOD am i happy to see that they're finally letting earth (the one in front of the pool table) play a role that lets him be the useless immature babygirl object of everyone's affections, instead of a stoic forest ranger (a tale of 1000 stars) or "almost 40" at 29 (moonlight chicken (i am. still not over that. i may never be.)), because he's GOOD at goofy comedy! jojo tichakorn did not make mama gogo (yet another series) to prove this but he did, inadvertently, prove this! also, there's literally never a bad time to watch mix sahaphap on screen because he's always great. also also. a gmmtv series with an actor who is (actually!) 46 as third billed and an official part of the central love triangle shenanigans? yes, please, thank you. most of this paragraph is not directly relevant to this song but to me it is, because these are the thoughts i have when i hit skip. (actually, one thought that's truly about the song: this has an E rating on spotify, which is incredibly funny to me, because the english subtitles on youtube don't have a single thing even close to a curse word in them, but apparently the thai original may be more rude? or spotify is being weird, which is also possible.)
-
เพื่อชีวิตกู / peua chiwit koo - TaitosmitH
taitosmith!!! one of the first times i listened to them i put on a random album and most new thai song lyrics are way too much for me at once to catch more than a sentence fragment here and there, but then at some point i snapped to attention when it was, like, wait. are they singing that someone doesn't want to be a man? and they were. i love their songs, and i love the music videos they make for them, i love how often those MVs actually add layers or tell their own stories. they have a huge number of songs about class struggle, poverty, getting painted as a criminal, problems endemic to thai society (and many societies, but they're very clear about their roots). the MV for กี่ฤดู (kii reudoo, "how many seasons") tells a much smaller story but caught me at the exact right time to have me sobbing for a bit. and then there's one song that had me squinting at the title going ? is this called "helmet"? that can't be right. but it was! that's what it's called! so i was like, okay, this is a song about. wearing a helmet, i guess. but then the lyrics go something like, wearing a helmet isn't cool, i want to go really fast and smash my head into the pavement, it's my business if i want to take this risk. but then the MV was released (fairly recently, this is one of their newest songs) and in it a guy goes on a sort of vigilante spree to force people into wearing helmets and avenge his family member(? or friend?) who was killed by reckless drivers, and also there's a chance that at the end he's a ghost? which, just. i do enjoy a poppy catchy love song, but goddamn, the journey that one single song can take you on.
-
เจ็บก็สิอดเอา (stay strong) - MANG bamm
love this one, it's great! in the MV mang (from bamm. mang is her name, bamm is the group she's usually in) stands in the middle of a field in a giant hat and a beautiful dress and high heeled boots and it's honestly pretty impressive she doesn't fall over. it also stars daou and offroad (actors, singers (though not here), etc.; currently stuck on my radar because they're the leads in century of love, which is stuck in my head) playing characters seemingly called daou and offroad (it's on daou's namecard at the start, and near the end he's crying over offroad's actual instagram handle. choices.) who meet and start dating and break up because they have to follow their dreams (that's those few lines of on screen dialogue in thai in the second half somewhere. offroad saying that) and so during the entire video the village is performing a traditional healing method on daou (they're not preparing to burn the man! they're helping him with his broken heart), except then they keep piling more and more improbable things on the fire, and it's a very understated kind of comedy and i'm incredibly here for it. it took me a second watch to realize that at 2:30 daou is absolutely about to burn down the whole music building because it reminds him of meeting offroad, and it's only mang's wise guidance (she shakes her head) that keeps him from going to prison i guess. i unironically love every single thing about this.
-
แพ้คำว่ารัก / pae kam waa rak - calories blah blah
the title means something like "losing to the word love". we're staying daou pittaya adjacent somehow, because this song is here because he did a cover of it. i'm in love with the band name but i don't really know them. i'm pretty sure daou sang this on an episode of a tv show that seems to be about singers covering other people's songs (i'm right. it's here), and another one he did was รอพี่ก่อน / roh pi korn, which has one of my favorite (of many, by now) moments where i misunderstood what the lyrics of a thai song were doing, because the song is called, essentially, "wait for me", and it's about how he doesn't have money right now but he'll hurry up to get it and then he will, or so i blindly assumed, hurry to his lover. because at some point he sings something about a car, and a train, and a plane. except then it clicked that in between the car and the train he sings about a refrigerator, and for a while there i was having lovely whimsical visions of paddling down a river using a fridge as a boat (?? how else are you going to use a fridge as transport?), but actually. he's singing that once he's rich he'll pay for the car, and the fridge, and the train, and the plane. some of which seem like more realistic goals than others, but hey, go for it.
-
แม่เกี่ยว / mae kiauw - palmy
you know what. i actually genuinely don't have a long story about this one, not even something that's vaguely related around two corners. i have zero memory of how this even ended up on my list (spotify recommendation? maybe??? i don't really know palmy beyond this one song, though i keep meaning to more seriously explore), i just know i really really like the sound of it! i've been listening to this one a lot.
-
and finally! i don't think i'll be sending asks but i will tag some people: @redgoldblue (you may have forgotten by now that you ever did this, so that could be the perfect time to do it again, if you want), @theartichokesarepurple, @littlestarsailor, @spaceradars, @batvreason, and anyone else who wants. all of this with no pressure of course, only if you feel like it!
#ask#*#ask games#hardly any of daou's singing is on spotify because he's mostly doing covers (and presumably far too busy for anything else)#but still. one thing about daou pittaya is that he'll be singing.#i watched a vlog thing yesterday where offroad and a friend were trying to give him a birthday cake (it was his birthday)#and he made them wait because he was too busy weaving a dramatic ending to his rendition of happy birthday (to himself)

Live Show Review! The Saviors Tour (Denver)
I've been wanting to start reviewing the different shows I go to but haven't gotten around to going to one since I started this blog, until now! Green Day has been my favorite band for like 6 years now, and between the full album plays and how much I love the singles off of Saviors, I just had to go to this.
I had heard of the Linda Lindas before, but I constantly forgot to go check them out. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how young the band's members are, with the drummer being only fourteen years old! It's great to see musicians my age finding success in the music industry while also making great music. I love the whole cat theme the band had going on, and they all had great stage presence for how new of a band they were. I would love to see them live again, and wish the best for them in their future.
I've been a pretty big Rancid fan for a few years now, especially their album "...And Out Come the Wolves" and I loved the selection of songs that they played, although I do wish that they were given a longer set time. I know that Green Day was doing a massive set and that the Smashing Pumpkins are a bigger draw, but I would've loved to hear a few more songs out of these guys. Hopefully I'll be able to see them again in the near future as a headlining act!
I had seen the Smashing Pumpkins before, but I will say that I enjoyed this show a lot more. Maybe I was just disappointed that they didn't do an encore at their hometown show when I saw them headline at the United Center in Chicago... Either way, I always forget how many Smashing Pumpkins songs I enjoy until I go and listen and this was yet again the case with this show. I do wish that the band had a bit more stage presence, especially Billy Corgan, but their kind of music also doesn't really call for much. I wouldn't mind seeing Smashing Pumpkins live again, but I also don't think that I would go out of my way to watch them perform again. Two of their shows is enough for me lol.
Now for the big guns: GREEN DAY!! If you know anything about me then you know I'm the biggest Green Day fan ever actually. At one point I was in their top 0% of listeners in my Spotify wrapped, and used to be the top last.fm listener until people started to leave them on loop 24/7 to beat me (totally not salty about that). This was my third time seeing Green Day live, and I feel like every time they out-do themselves just a little more. It was INCREDIBLE seeing both Dookie and American Idiot live, and I just have so many videos of myself sob-singing along to about half of the songs they played. Seeing some of my favorite songs that I thought I would never have the chance to watch live was actually life changing. From Having a Blast and All by Myself off of Dookie, to Homecoming and Letterbomb off of American Idiot, I really was having the time of my life. I was also glad that I was able to see the singles from their latest album, Saviors, but I will NEVER get over the fact that they debuted 1981 the SHOW AFTER I SAW THEM LIVE LAST SUMMER. (They actually hate me personally) I am so grateful to be able to see that amazing set, Green Day really made a night that I will never forget and I can't wait to see what they do next. (PINHEAD GUNPOWDER PLEASE ANNOUNCE A US TOUR PLEASE COME TO COLORADO)

It's halfway through the year! Got any favorite albums/books/tv shows/whatever to recommend?
Ooo yes!
Whatevers first, I've been hyperfixated on the video game I Was a Teenage Exocolonist for the past month or so. It's very good; I found the core gameplay loop deeply engaging (maybe even hypnotic); on multiple occasions I've spent several hours longer than I intended playing it late into the dawn. The characters are very blorboable, as evidenced by the amount of meta I've been putting out. I also enjoy it as a smart commentary on game design; I think I've got a meta piece to that effect somewhere on here.
Music-wise, I don't listen to whole albums straight through that often (much more "single track on manual repeat" for me. automatic repeat wears it out but letting it wait a minute or two for me to press it again keeps me going), but when I do, my comfort album remains Within Temptation's The Unforgiving. For something that's new to me this year, Oceans of Slumber's album Starlight and Ash came out in 2022 but I didn't listen to it all the way through until February of this year; I was missing out.
I also love pretty much Sirenia's entire discography; I'm listening to Riddles, Ruins, and Revelations right now and it's a solid no-skips album (and the third track has found its way to my on-repeat plays more than I'd like to admit).
For individual tracks that have made it into my manual-repeat loop a bunch lately, Aimee Mann - Avalanche (something about her vocals and the specific lyrics give this song a strong haunting energy I can't quite place but very much enjoy) and The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound have both wound up there, as have a bunch of Scarlet Dorn tracks (Queen of Broken Dreams, Heavy Beauty, and Until the Waters Run Dry just off the top of my head). also Like Matches, by Mercury Circle with the singer from Oceans of Slumber.
Books-wise, I'm super excited to read my pre-release copy of Alyson Greaves's When You Fell From Heaven, a lesbian teen romance between a cheerleader and a gymnast with gender hijinks. I didn't expect to be into it but I'll read whatever she puts out and not just because she's my friend. She's splitting it out into multiple books and has given the first book a revision pass and expansions to make it gayer after posting it chapter by chapter (which I've already read) before officially getting it up somewhere. I unfortunately haven't been as much of a long-form reader as I used to be, or else I'd have more books to rec.
I'm not a big TV-watcher, but I was recced dungeon meshi enough times to get me to watch it and it's very good.
Anyway. yeah. That's what I've been into, arts and entertainment-wise.
Thanks for asking me!

Hello, I humbly apologize for not sending you an ask yesterday. Your Santa was so exhausted after a whole week that I couldn't understand English correctly. But I'm back in business! And don't worry, I can wait, I understand that you have life outside tumblr 💜
It really is if you're that much into linguistics. I wish you the best of luck if you decide to do a Master's degree!
It's like a serial number for a book, so every book and journal won't get lost. ISBN is like an ID number 😆 Oh yes, Poland is a beautiful place. Once we're off anon I can show you my place a bit. I have a bunch of photos if you'd be interested! This is the first time I hear about this woman, but hey, I'm glad you enjoy her videos, haha!
Look at that, David made another good thing, I'm so happy that Kate had such a good start! I'm not that much into Kate's music, but what you say about her albums and the colors is really interesting. Wouldn't ever think about it this way. Yep, Kate had so much fun with the photos, that's why they are timeless!
Oh, three more bands in common, nice!
Nope I didn't, I don't have Disney+, plus (haha) I need time to get into The Beach Boys more. Third year of university is so time consuming and energy draining that by the end of the week I just want to play some games or watch a movie and forget about everything. But thank you for telling me about this documentary, I'll just borrow my bestie's account and watch it in the future.
Another Moonie fan?! OMG, YES! I so agree with you that Keith and Bonzo are the best drummers of the past century and in all honesty I still haven't heard a better drummer than them. I love Keith's laugh so much, omg, there are a few fragments where he laughs circling on tumblr and I watch them a few times in a row whenever I see them 🫠
Hahaha, I've stumbled upon this audio in the last month when I was in a state of "I need to see and hear more of him" so I went on YouTube and found this gem. Honestly, only Keith could come up with such a gem of a comedy!
What else do I like about The Who - besides Keith and his drumming, damn, that's a difficult question 😂 In all honesty, there is a lot that I like about them:
lyrics - I'm someone who doesn't listen to lyrics, I pay most attention to drums, but The Who's lyrics are on another level. I think the best example of that is the entirety of "Quadrophenia" - the way this album speaks to me on a personal level, I've never encounter something like this before. And if not this album, then there are fragments of lyrics in songs that I like. For example "Who Are You" has a wonderful fragment that I love, "Love is Coming Down" is beautiful from beginning to end 🥹
Roger's voice - he's a strong second favorite vocalist of mine, his voice has just the range that I love. I really can't explain it
their stupid behavior on stage - I find two things hilarious about them. First is the fact that everyone goes bonkers and John is like "I'll stay here, no one will hurt my bass" and second can be summed up with this: "There's the entire freak vibe of The Who, but atop all this is Keith Moon". The things he did on stage are so funny, I love every second he's shown on camera - I even love his drunk mumbling when he constantly interrupts Pete when he's talking. I always remember the fragment where Pete was talking about something and Keith was like "You're not going clubbing with me, not with this outfit, you look like a bloody plumber" I love this guy so much, you have no idea
Tommy - yes, this gets a separate paragraph, because of two things (again). First, they made a musical out of it (as in there's a movie) and second, Keith Moon as Uncle Ernie. I said to myself a year and a few months ago that it's the end of me falling in love with fictional characters, but he happened and I ended up loving this pervert to the point of a writing a fic with self-insert with him, I'm that obsessed - Keith is making miracles happen, I'm telling ya
Anything else you like about The Who, perhaps? 👀
Ah yes, Labyrinth! I remember watching this movie once and I was charmed by Bowie, literally! The way you portray David is beautiful. He was all about what you're saying and yes, he was humble. I may not be a big fan of his, but from the small interviews I've seen of him he seemed to be a really nice guy who was always crossing the boundaries - which is good, society shouldn't put limits on you in any way. The part about pleasing people is so real. It's better to be yourself than to try to make people around like you.
"Any Led Zeppelin concert" is such a mood of an answer!!! It might be possible to lose hearing after that, but it would be so worth it!
As for today's question: Tell me what you like about The Beach Boys, Def Leppard and The Doors. I'm genuinely curious!
I completely understand you!! Last week and today were heavy at my workplace, full of things to do and helping with the "Christmas Carols" event. But now I can finally breathe. Yes, please!!! I'd be more than happy to see all those pictures!!
Yeah, I totally recommend it (the documentary) to you. I learned facts I didn't know about. "Help Me Rhonda" is a great song!!! The other songs you mentioned are cool too!! For me, "God Only Knows" is the one that lives rent-free in my head. The lyrics, the music, the harmonization, all those sounds combined are just perfect.
I know that if he were still alive, Moon would have been a special guest on RuPaul's Drag Race. I believe I know which Tumblr post you're referring to. Moon was messy and goofy, so chaotic xD. I love watching "Who Are You" video, how Moon is laughing with the others, and the fact that he had to stick with tape the headset tells you what a beast he was with the drums! I like this video of Moon, I think it was so nice of him to do that for the kids.
youtube
Yes Moon and the "plumber" joke HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHH He was right on that, tho... hahahahahhah "You look like you've come to mend the electricity". He had a great wit for making jokes. Again, if he were still alive he would do a lot of shitpost on his social media hahahahhaha.
What I like about The Who... let me start from what you wrote.
We both have "Quadrophenia" on the same level. That album is peak, PEAK!!! "Who's Next" is my second favorite album by them. I agree with you about their lyrics. Townshend and the others did a great job on that. And yes, TOMMY is just a masterpiece. I think that the evolution in their lyrics shows that they were trying to do something more than just songs, they started to write around a concept that led them to this great rock opera, that is Tommy. Tommy is ageless, and keeps inspiring younger generations. Like Green Day, they took Tommy as one of their inspirations when they were working on the "American Idiot" album.
Their behavior hahaahhahahhaha, I love them so much for that. YES!!! John, most of the time, was so calm on stage. I like him that much because of that!!! I once read that he had really hard chords on the bass. From what I see, he made them look easy. He is one of the bassists I like the most. "There's the entire freak vibe of The Who, but atop all this is Keith Moon" facts!!!!
Roger's voice and hair are cultural heritage of rock
And I need to read that fanfic!!!
Songs I love:
Behind Blue Eyes
Who Are You
Squeeze Box
The Real Me
This scene, this gown, this song...... are one of my Roman Empire

From Def Leppard is the sound of guitars, I like them!!! They're so 80s'. When I'm cleaning or going to work, they're one of the bands I choose to listen to. Their sound is so vibrant. My favorite member, Rick Allen, plays drums with passion and with a great sound and is an inspiration <3
From The Doors... Jim, He was at the moment when people were trying hard to make a change in society. He embraced all this counterculture, all this psychedelia and put it in his work. He was talented in his writing skills.
This is a moodboard I made this year, but I totally forgot to post it until today hahaha.

What do you like about The Doors and Def Leppard? What other bands do you like?

@deep-space-titst agged me to share 5 songs I've been listening to of late and I can never say no to an opportunity to plug my favorite artists. So heeeeerrrrrreeeee we go.
First up is one of my favorite genres of song writing. Let's call the genre Fuck the Police.
I love SAULT, they have such a unique sound blending funk, jazz, soul, punk, and hip hop. They’re an incredibly tight band and the lyrics are always brilliant. ACAB!!!!!
Next up is song from one of my favorite artists, Mykki Blanco, fresh off their latest album.
I've have been listening to Mykki for a long time now and it's been so cool seeing their music and persona evolve over the years. I've always loved her music but I'm absolutely in love with this current era of Mykki Blanco. Can't wait to see what he does next.
My third song is an oldie but goodie.
This is my current go to track for one of my all time favorite activities: Smoking a fat joint and going for a walkabout in the city while listening to music. 'Nuff said.
At number four we've got one the the latest singles from one of my all time favorite punk bands, HIRS COLLECTIVE.
If you're trans and love punk music you've almost certainly listened to G/L/O/S/S (if you haven't heard of them Slap yourself in the face rn and go listen to 'em). G/L/O/S/S disbanded but HIRS Collective is their spiritual successor; in fact Sadie Switchblade herself has collaborated with HIRS more than a few times. This single is from their upcoming album and I can not fucking wait for the whole album to drop. Every song they've realeased so far has been an absolute banger (I especially love XOXOXOXOXOX featuring one of my other favorite bands, MELT BANANA). They collaborate with a lots of other queer and trans artists including Laura Jane Grace and the collaborations are always super interesting. It goes without saying that trans folks don't have it easy, the world is rather unkind to us; whenever I'm at the end of my rope with the transphobia I have to deal with or when my heart breaks at seeing other trans folks, especially those I know and love, suffering I turn to to HIRS COLLECTIVE because sometimes you need the catharsis of a primal scream set to some blast beats so fierce and heavy they'll blow your tits clean off.
And last but certainly not least is a track from an artist very near and dear to my heart, who has not received the accolades she deserves. I'm kinda always listening to Jordana (FKA 187) and it's hard to choose just one song of hers.
Jordana LeSense is, imho, the greatest drum and bass artist of all time and most people have never heard of her. I believe her immense talent has been overlooked because she's a trans woman. She walked so Juliana Huxtable, SOPHIE, Eris Drew, Octa Octa, Jessica Jess, and Tami T (It's my duty to sneak in some plugs for more trans artists) could run. Jordana use to go by the moniker 187, a name she earned for blowing out her friend's speaker making her hard and heavy beats. Jordana is a true trans legend and a personal hero of mine. Her music definitely speaks to the trans experience. When she was only 13 she began her medical transition in total secrecy, an experience that I am certain informed the song Deep Stealth. She announced her tranistion in 1998, around the time she released her second Album, Quality Rolls. With the release of that album she was set to become an icon of the drum and bass scene. Tragically, while on tour in Ohio in 2000, she was victim of a violent hate crime at the hands of two men, who were never convicted because The Pigs never charged them, and she suffered a traumatic brain injury that caused nerve damage to her face. She stopped making music for a very long time after that.
BUT she's back! No longer going by the 187 moniker Jordana is back and making music. Please go check out her bandcamp, show her some love and buy some music.
Here's her soundcloud
Jordana hasn't released any new albums recently, that I know of anyway, but she still does live performances and if you follow her on IG or twitter she lists her performance dates there and you might be able to catch her!
My greatest wish is for people, trans folks especially, to rediscover Jordana’s music and lavish her with the attention she deserves.
OK I tag my wife @bandyriddles, @dissonant-skies, @basicallymsfrizzle, @zephy-n-ky, and @rynejoslyn

Genuinely flattered to be tagged by my favourite Wolfstar writer @veeagainsttheday *___* - I, of course, have forgotten every song that has ever existed whilst doing this
1. Favourite song at the moment
I'm still riding the Eurovision high, so probably Zitti e Buoni - Maneskin, or maybe even I Wanna Be Your Slave - Maneskin. Other bangers include: Technicolour, Discoteque, Shum, 10 Years, Embers (#wewasrobbed #noteven1pointeurope? #rip). Before May, I was on a real Elle King kick, so would have been Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)
2. A song you associate with your favourite ship
Oof, tricky, for whatever reason, my brain does not readily associate ships and songs together for me? Here's a few that I can come up with after wracking my brain for a while.
Booker/Misery: Good Thing Gone, Chained, Sober - All by Elle King. The voice of his poor, broken little heart
Percy/Oliver: It's Late - Queen. Based off a scene in a fic that I will finish, damn it.
Merlin/Arthur: My Friend - Dan Deacon. Oof those post finale feels.
Wolfstar: .. difficult. I would say Cybertronic Purgatory - Janelle Monae, #theveil. But it also reminds me hugely of my friend who died last year and .. It's hard to relisten to it, however brief it is. I can't really think of anything else for Remus/Sirius :/
Looking back, I do realise these are all pretty angsty .. I do like fun, happy songs and fun, happy fics! Just .. angst speaks to me, apparently.
3. A song that could be about you
A bit tongue in cheek because I can't think of anything else: I'm In Love With My Car - Queen. Thrilling Roger vocals, and I referred to my car as "a very pleasant lad" to one of my colleagues yesterday. And he is.
4. A song you think is overrated
There are plenty .. There was a song that got played so often on Absolute on my commute in, I would deliberately change my radio to static rather than listen to it. Can't remember what it is now, but it incensed me constantly. Dishonourable mention to Beneath Your Beautiful, which I don't think is overrated but the grammar of the title is like ants under my skin, and one of my university roommates used to play this on a loop, and sing to it, AND try to learn it on my keyboard, and I think it might have genuinely been the thing to tip me over the edge during third year. The murder would have been justified.
5. A song that reminds you of a good memory
Oooh .. Start Me Up - The Rolling Stones. It doesn't remind me of any particular moment, but always reminds me of the MASSAMAFIA gang and many trips together and I miss them so much ;__;
6. The last song you listened to
Right Here, Right Now - Fatboy Slim. Radio X was playing it when I was waiting in the drive thru, so I skanked along whilst waiting for my nuggets
7. A song that makes you laugh
Anything off the Music For The Mature B Boy album by DJ Format, particularly Ill Culinary Behaviour or English Lesson (remix), he brings a lot of humour into rap. Or One Vision - Queen, because of the sheer glee at being able to yell "FRIED CHICKEN!" at the end and also in the video, Roger does this and it kills me every time
8. A song you want your mutuals to listen to
Party Poison - My Chemical Romance: haven't got a shoutout elsewhere on here and I am *theoretically* seeing them in 2022, subject to the pandemic, and it is time to begin getting hyyyyyyped.
Tagging some people I’d like to get to know better @nicelytousled @schweetheart @kaydeefalls @flawlessassholes

Kim Min Seo: Hello I’m Min Seo, fresh high school senior in charge of bright snowdrops and innocence in DRIPPIN.
2. Can you share with us about your debut album?
Hwang Yun Seong: Boyager is a combination of word ‘boy’ means boy and ‘voyager’ which means long-distance traveller. It's also the name of an American unmanned space probe. It (Boyager) means to overcome the fear of a new world and start a new journey with curiosity and determination for dreams.
Cha Jun Ho: Our debut album Boyager is a combination of ‘boy’ meaning boy and ‘voyager’ meaning long-distance traveller. It means that we are going on a new journey with curiosity and determination of our dreams.

Cha Jun Ho
3. Are there other group names being considered before DRIPPIN is chosen as the official name?
Cha Jun Ho: Actually, I couldn't come up with a different name. I thought about it for a long time but it didn't come out. So, as soon as I heard the cool name DRIPPIN, I got hooked.
Hwang Yun Seong: I’ve considered it, we have been thinking among us and I also put a lot of thoughts on it personally. The CEO also asked me if there’s any names that I thought of, but it’s not easy. Even when we shared our ideas, only strange things came out and it wasn’t easy. But when the name DRIPPIN came out, I was very satisfied.
Kim Dong Yun: The name DRIPPIN is the name that our CEO gave us. Before it was decided, we thought about it among ourselves but coming up with a name is harder that we thought.

Kim Dong Yun: I thought everyone was handsome. If you look now, we sort of resemble each other.

Emotions!!??😶😶
My bestfriends are a part of my every month life (just busy people with work and studies). And my army friends and bts is my everyday part of me. Especially three of the five are the most precious to me. One is younger to me and other is older to me and the third one - bts is my overall pain reliever, my happiness... and of the three, the elder one is my everyday smile potion. we talk, we share thoughts, experiences. she reminds me of myself when i was a child, happy, cheerful, to think it is funny that i see my younger self in someone older to me, who is full of life in most aspects, when most people see the opposite in their life. Anyways, right now i want to express my mixed emotions about BTS.
Its been a year and a half since I've known them. my first song was life goes on and the first ever clip was from the award ceremony where v was crying in his red attire and had red hair. i haven't seen everything or have heard everything about them from the start. I'm still lacking in those areas. I've always felt that i wasn't with them since 2013 but told myself that it didn't matter,
Today i was in the hospital when i heard they are finally going to enlist for their military service. all that i saw was a message from a friend saying that jin is going away (her bias is jin she was super sad). i didn't have the mind space to think about it. but when i finally was in the waiting area i thought about it. i teared up, instantly. it hurt hard but couldn't cry. i manage 2 accounts on insta for them, i barely get time to update them although i try my best. And today to think that i won't have new updates from them for 2 years it makes me sad.
i'm so proud of them to do the right thing, and honestly i can't wait to see them post their service, all different looking than they are right now. i literally wanted them, still wish they would exceed their contract with hybe. i am not ready to have just met them and letting them go so soon. You know i see lot of content where people say bts have saved them, their lives, helped them , i never could understand how. Slowly their music, videos, everyday lives became a part of mine. Anger, happiness, sadness everything i felt i had them to go to. i would sit and look at them, listen to them and cherish them all day and could never get tired. They would make me happy, i would forget my sorrows for a while. One day i realized i could also feel sad while seeing them, for them... i never really thought i will be at the same place today, where i couldn't have been in the past. i thought maybe they will never be my saviors (from my worst nightmares or my sad pathetic life), coz at the end they are not someone i know personally.
Today i am feeling empty, sad, happy, excited and proud of my seven heroes. They have been my emotional support everyday since march 23rd 2021, my reason to go on one more day, to feel i will be okay coz i will see them again when i wake up the next day, to wait to see their Instagram stories or weverse posts or vlives. When i say 2 years, its not a long time. But when i think its 2022 right now, i will have to go on without seeing them next year and also the year after that, makes my heart stop. Trying to see myself in the future sad, annoyed and the hurt that i would feel for not having them by my side. To visit their profiles but not see any new posts or stories. How much time will change before they come back? How much will i change?. What if i change to the point where i don't listen to them as often as i do now? I know i will wait for them, but what if i don't or can't. Am i scared at this point? or am i just overwhelmed by having too much on my plate?
I hate them for making us super happy, and then leaving with sad news some days after. We got the new album proof after which during dinner with bts we got to know they are halting the group activities a little bit. And although we knew it was time for their military enlistment, how bighit dropped the bomb after yet to come concert in Busan. Just when we got our song 'RUN BTS' choreography. When i look back at the videos and their speeches after receiving such announcements , it makes my heart drop more. To think maybe that is why they gave their best of the best, that is why we could feel more than it was to hear in their voices, could understand the meaning of their words. Also to feel their feelings, not to sing for 2 years, not see their army their fans for 2 years. But regardless of all this i know one thing for sure...
They will make us proud... as they have always....
I Trust BTS.... I Will wait for them... i will love them more tomorrow than i do today... ❤❤💜💜
