Okay time for a little angst headcanon

I was looking through the Pokemon Wikia at Hilbert’s page and uh

OKAY SO LIKE, ID NEED TO LOOK AT ALL THE PLASMA QUOTES TO FIND CONTEXT BUT UH, THIS IS SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW WAS A THING

I feel this could imply several things

-Hilbert and Hilda’s dad either knew someone in Plasma, or perhaps even, he was a part of them

-Their dad was apparently defeated by at least this grunt in particular, either just before the grunt was part of Plasma as old rivals, training within Plasma, and/or a confrontation their dad had on a journey

If its the last one, considering how Ghetsis threatened to kill Hilbert/Hilda if they lost to him, and how he nearly stabbed Nate/Rosa...I think if he lost, he might have gotten killed for trying to interfere with Plasma’s plans, which, can you IMAGINE the emotional material that could come with that?

Of course, this is just a headcanon, but I already had a headcanon that Hilbert and Hilda’s dad died young, just not a specific detail of how he perished. If he was killed by Plasma, and he wasn’t found for years, decades even, can you imagine the absolute *fear* that went through their mom when Hilbert went missing? For all she could have known, he could have been presumed dead like his father. In my headcanon Hilbert writes letters for his mom every few months to let her know he’s alive and out there somewhere BUT STILL I CAN IMAGINE HER BEING SO WORRIED ;-;

Not to mention the angst that could come if it was ever revealed Plasma killed him. LIKE this cult already messed with everyone enough, Hilbert was put into a position where he had to grow up too fast, had to become a hero and face dangers most adults shouldn’t even need to do, not to mention all the people hurt, especially N, who Hilbert would see as a brother. Can you just, imagine Hilbert finding out his dad was killed by this low life cult? How they’ve been impacting his life longer than he even realized? Just the pain of knowing Plasma hurt his family so deeply? Its just so painful to think about and I picture he’d be crushed and worried at the idea Plasma might have always been there, even if it wasn’t intentional

OR THE OTHER IDEA THAT HIS DAD PRETENDED TO GO ON A JOURNEY, AND FAKED HIS DEATH TO JOIN PLASMA JUST OUGH THAT WOULD BE SO PAINFUL

There probably wouldn’t be much confrontation between Hilbert and N because of this (Hilbert is pretty aware of how N was used by Plasma for so long and fed propaganda, so don’t worry it wouldn’t be a “WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME?!” moment) but just, the shared pain, Hilbert’s grief with N’s sympathy, cause he understands the hurt of finding out the truth of a father just OUGH

As it stands right now, I don’t think I’m gonna consider this my headcanon, cause I will admit its a little bit of a stretch, and I prefer the idea of Plasma not having a ton of connection to the protag’s family pre-game, but still the idea gives me the feels. I already feel pain with my headcanon that instead of running off, Hilbert and Hilda’s dad passed when they were very young, but this just adds to it

Random Pokémon Headcanons

Any sexuality headcanons apply to adult versions of these characters. Please do not sexualize children :)

Red is a demiboy and uses he/it. When he grows up he also comes to identify as asexual and aromantic

Blue is bisexual but with a preference towards men. He can be a bit of a flirt but strikes out 90% of the time due to his cocky vibe

Kris is the daughter of that random woman who's in your kitchen talking to your mom at the beginning of GSC. Ethan and Kris's moms have always been friends & neighbors; Kris's dad is one of Professor Elm's aides. When she's young Kris wants to work alongside Elm, but as she gets older she becomes interested in Pokémon psychology - ways their brains are similar and different to those of humans, and how that knowledge can be used to help Trainers and Pokémon better understand each other.

Silver is demiheterosexual. I like to imagine that he and Kris strike up a relationship. In his adult years he works on-and-off with the International Police when incidents with Team Rocket spring up, but he refuses to join them because he doesn't always want to play by their rules.

May is pansexual, and either aromantic or just not strongly interested in relationships. She definitely dated Lisia at some point, even if only briefly

Leaf is a trans girl! I used to hc that her other name (Green in English, Blue in Japanese) was her deadname, but I know there's controversy around having trans/nb characters' deadnames revealed, and as someone who is not trans myself I want to be careful. Anyway, I imagine her exploring the Kanto we see in Pokémon GSC; in that game you first land in Vermillion City, so I imagine her being from there.

Both Lucas and Barry have very juvenile crushes on Dawn (with her in the "friend" role and Lucas as the protag). However, Dawn makes it clear that she isn't interested in that kind of relationship, and they get over it pretty quickly.

Would it be way too stereotypical to say that Barry has ADHD

Lyra caught her Marill as an Azurill in Mt. Mortar (yes I know Azurill isn't found there wild, but let's say someone snuck an incense in there or something). She didn't have any other Pokémon so she "borrowed" a bunch of Poké balls from her grandparents and just hucked them at the mon over and over until eventually she caught it

Bianca and Cheren are both trans and when they get older they start dating. Their Neo Champion event was just giving t4t sorry i don't make the rules

Hilda & Nate are the two Unova protags; after B2W2, Nate stays in Unova to lead the Pokémon League, Rosa has a moderately successful career at Pokéstar Studios, Hilda goes searching abroad for N, and Hilbert becomes a frequent visitor on the Battle Subway, second in rank only to Emmet & Ingo.

Calem is a trans boy!!!

Shauna is a lesbian with a crush on Serena, Serena is straight with a crush on Calem, and Calem is completely oblivious to everything

Everyone just kind of assumes that Tierno and Trevor are gay and dating but actually they're both straight but queerplatonic

Hau is ace but girls usually assume he's flirting with them and then get sad when they find out he's not

Gladion probably uses he/they and maybe also some neopronouns

Chase, Elaine, and Trace are all painfully straight I'm sorry. Elaine becomes the Champion, Chase travels the world to become the very best like no one ever was, and idk Trace works at viridian city gym or something

Victor is nonbinary!!!! Based off my own experience of playing the game with Victor as my protag but feeling uncomfortable with my character using he/him. They can be a little awkward and apologetic about their identity, but Hop has been supporting them in their transition for years and will fight anyone who misgenders them. The downside of this is that Hop can be a little too overzealous as an ally and sometimes he makes a scene when Victor would rather just go incognito.

Rei (as protag) is the little brother of Lucas from DPP :) Idk Johanna got remarried or something

Juliana is genderfluid but identifies more with the female end of the spectrum. Depending on the day, they use she/her, they/them, it/its, or xe/xem.

Greetings and welcome to my AU! In this post I will give a general rundown of what to expect here, my DNI, and a list of content warnings for serious topics that appear in this story so people know what they are getting into

CONTENT WARNING: This AU involves themes such as kidnapping, brainwashing (both in terms of fiction tropes and realistic ways), loss of identity, grief, guilt, and abuse. As well as scenes where characters experience Panic Attacks, Depressive Episodes, symptoms of PTSD and Meltdowns. All of the above in some way shape or forum happens to characters who are minors, but it is not intended to be glorified in any way shape or forum.

Concept: The main concept of this AU is Hilbert and Hilda are twins, and before the events of BW1 when they were younger, they snuck off into the tall grass outside of Nuvema Town, before they were even old enough to have Pokemon of their own. Separated by the grass, Hilbert was lured away back to the Plasma castle, and was raised to become the loyal protector and Knight to his King, N. Dawning a mask, The Knight is a mysterious figure to both the "outsiders" and even to a majority of Plasma grunts. He follows N around to keep him safe, and usually lurks in the background so people do not pick up on N being with Plasma.

After Hilda and her friends have a few altercations with Knight, his mask falls off in the heat of battle. How will Hilda handle the truth? And how will their ideals clash?

DNI: Do NOT interact if you ship N Harmonia with either of the protagonists. Between the age gap and this AU bringing a sibling dynamic with him and the protags (especially with Hilbert) mentions of shipping between them makes me very uncomfortable

(Hilbert and Hilda are blood siblings in this AU as well. While I don't mind you interacting if you ship the two of them, I don't want tags of their ship on my posts here. Thank you for understanding)

Mostly it's just pictures of her pokemon tho hahah I do wanna say she has a private account where she posts pics of her friends and her mons, even the three dragons being all soft and sweet

Cheren also posts random pkmn facts too let's be real, Hilbert would always be the first one to like those posts but he doesn't reposts them telling Cheren "sorry babe, doesn't fit my blog theme"

Look, I believe the twins and Iris are so so so updated with every drama on the pkmn equivalent of twitter, I just know they are, didn't help that Iris was close with Diantha and Diantha has a ton of gossip in regards with famous people too, they would update their lil friend group about all the tea they got and N is so fucking confused please this boy is not made for the internet

so like I know I went on about Sawyer and all of my weird Unovan headcanons/worldbuilding/ideas, but here are some others, since again, I’ve played Black and White since the game was out in Japan, going through the English patches and also just counting down the months until it released in NA.

So some of the headcanons I had was like... I’ll put a readmore here for convenience

Fun fact, you know how I said Mama was like built different? yeaaaars ago (i was like fifteen, still baby), I was like “Okay, I need a name for her, but what.”

and then I decided “Alright Bulbapedia, what you got for me”

PERFECT.

And since then, Mama was just named Monta, which could’ve possibly come from モンスター, or monster. Which again, looking at it now with how I’ve told you Mama is built different...YEAH. :V That’s her as a kid (this is totally not me just indulging in the idea of Mama being a massive tomboy who got dirty and didn’t even bother letting her hair grow out for SO long grhjgfk SHHHHH)

Anyways give it up for Monta - or Mama, which is what Sawyer accidentally calls her and it just sticks. (it’s embarrassing, but Mama just pats her on the head)

Moving on, because at the time, all we had were the BW Players Japanese names, I would just call them Touya and Touko - which, fun fact - their names mean the same thing, which is to fight...their names are just gender flipped versions of each other. This and their resemblance to each other, is why it was common to portray them as twins. Just in case anyone wonders, because in other areas, they are not at all related (like in the Pokemon Adventures manga).

It’s hard for me to let it go for Hilda and Hilbert, which is why I still call them Touya and Touko. And yes, these are clearly Japanese names, hence the headcanon I have of these two being of Japanese descent (or effectively, what is the Pokemon world equivalent of such).

And how does this carry over from Professor Juniper??? Because I ALSO effectively meshed her names together, except Juniper is her GIVEN name, her surname is actually Araragi. Her father is Araragi Sr.

So in Araragi Sr’s case, his given name is Cedric, but at the end of the day, this is the Araragi family. :V (and where’s Mama in all this? She passed away years ago, from an illness, but the family has since moved on from this - it’s why they were ALL just busy with research and other stuff for a good chunk of their earlier years)

and then there’s Alder (or Adeku, as I would call him back then)

Idk what it was (maybe his clothes), but I always saw this guy as being Mexican, or Indigenous Mexican and never looked back on that. :V

I still haven’t changed my mind about that, however, an addendum - because of Legends Arceus giving us this beauty

(apart from the confirmation that Maxie and Archie have been divorced through the ages, to the point I legitimately think they’ve reincarnated)

Seeing as Hisui (later, Sinnoh) is effectively Hokkaido, this would imply Japanese ancestry in Alder to some extent. So again, I’m just saying “yeah, that still stays” because Mexico also has a Japanese population. In fact, one of my favorite snacks - Japanese styled peanuts - came to be because of a Japanese immigrant living in Mexico. They’re a staple in certain snack foods, like tostilocos :V

While on this train of thought - fun fact, the Alder Moth, where Alder gets his name from in the English localization, can actually be found in Japan - specifically Honshu and Hokkaido. :V

Anyways what I’m saying is we’ve come full fucking circle. in some way.

But also, now Sawyer genuine joins the group of OCs that are Mexican-Japanese, because I went “why the hell not” (friendly reminder that I am indigenous Mexican, the only thing American - from the States - about me is that I was born here in California).

Since I’ve already stated that Sawyer was a twin switched out at birth with a stillborn by Team Plasma as a bargaining chip for Ghetsis to have on Alder, more to it is that - remember, the Elgyem line was introduced in Unova. Consider that they can manipulate memories, in case anyone wonders how it was easy for them to just switch out Sawyer like that. The timing of it was never intentional, but when Ghetsis sees an opening, HE TAKES IT.

So he’s part of the reason why Alder hasn’t been doing that well, since hey - remember how Benga got added to the family. Add to the death of one of his Pokemon years later, and he just...wanders around aimlessly. He still comes home, but he’s really taking it hard. (you can only imagine the anger and RELIEF he feels when he finds out about Sayer)

So anyways, while Sawyer looks like her mama (much like Touya), she does take after Alder in skin tone - being someone who tans easily (Touya also tans, but his default tones lean towards pale, like Mama).

As her hair gets longer, it starts looking more and more like Mama’s - leaning into Hilda/Touko. Bianca likes to brush her hair, and is the one that first pulls it into a ponytail when she notices “doesn’t it get in the way?”. She also braids her hair, but otherwise, yeah.

The way Sawyer got her name is through a book that Professor Juniper forgot to get rid of years ago. It was just something she had in her bag, usually forgetting about it for something else. It was a book on baby names, because she was helping her sister pick out names for the twins.

Sawyer picked the name she did because it stood out to her. Team Plasma has a name for her that she doesn’t exactly respond to, because very few people ever referred to her by that, usually just saying “you” or “brat”.

Sawyer isn’t her name...but for now, it feels right - because it’s better than having nothing at all.

So remember what I said about the twins??? Her real name is Touko. And that alone needs time for her to adjust. But there’s no rush. She has family now - she is loved.

But it was still a painful journey to get there. But hey, she isn’t alone.

I have a Pokémon Black and White future AU. N is 26 and has settled down after 4 years of travels with Reshiram, Cheren is 21 and has picked up a coffee addiction due to how exhausted he always is, and Bianca is 20 and on the path to becoming the next Pokémon Professor. (She also dyed her hair red at the ends for fun.) They all share an apartment and N is nicknamed "Nat".

Headcanons for the day N reunites with the others?

Love it lol, wasn't really sure what you meant by "the others" so I went with our lovely protags <3

N- or “Nat,” as Bianca had taken to calling him, and Cheren was on the way to calling him- was still kind of getting used to actually settling in Unova, but the two of them made it a bit easier.

Though a lot had changed in the region in those four years, including a few changes in champion. Apparently one of those kids Ghetsis had tried to freeze had taken up the mantel.

It was a few months before he was able to see Hilda and Hilbert again, since the two of them had also been traveling on and off, but according to Cheren (only awake thanks to too much coffee), the twins always ended up visiting him and Bianca as soon as they could.

Putting aside any bad blood they used to have, though it was nowhere near as much as the twins had with Ghetsis, he was really glad to see them both safe and doing good things with their lives.

He definitely wanted to keep in touch with them better than he had before, and Bianca was keen to help with that as well as she could between her work with other professors.

What stands out from this is I like villian/protag ships too much and also that I like subordinates pining for their bosses.

Lysandre- My NOTP for themNone.  - My BROTP for themLysandre/Sycamore.  Since in my own hearcanons, Lysandre really did view him as his dear, closest friend. - My OTP for them I’m a weak fool who gets caught up in my own AUs, so Calem/Lysandre. It’s telling that whenever I think of alternative storylines, I pair Calem with Lysandre and not Tierno, despite that being the endgame ship I went with. - My second choice pairing for themLysandre/Sycamore since I do really like this ship as well - My fluffy pairing for themLysandre/Sycamore has the easiest time ending up fluffy. But in general, Lysandre doesn’t go well with fluff. - My angsty pairing for themLysandre/Alain. Alain was a little too eager to please in those anime episodes and it gave me ideas. - My favorite poly ship for themLysandre/Calem/Sycamore.  I’ve actually thought about this one extensively as the route things could have gone had Lysandre lived. - My weirdest pairing for themCalem/Lysandre since I’ve seen a very minimal amount of content for them (and believe me, I’ve searched for it)

Lance- My NOTP for themThis is the part where I confess I don’t usually have NOTPs. Alright so after the whole bit with Ghetis and the, idk end of the world or Unova or w/e happened and N cut all ties with his “father”, he seeks Hilda out and was like “hey, remember me? ah, of course you’d remember me. i tried to do a lot of shitty things and you stopped me from making a huge mistake. but uh hi”

and Hilda’s just like

“uh, hi?”

because at this time she’s probably already finished with whatever she was doin’ idk I haven’t thought too much on what she was doing after Ghetis and before marryin’ N boy here.

so N’s just super awks and shy and is liek “well fuck idk what to do”

but Hilda catches on and is like, ya know what? he ain’t half bad. now that things’ve calmed down and there’s no imminent threat, Hilda’s p attracted to N. So Hilda’s just like

“hey uh, so things have calmed down and you’re not here to try and take my Pokemon and end the entire world, so do you wanna go grab some Casteliacones?”

and N’s juST FLUSTERED LIKE OH FUCK WHAT’S HAPPENING???? SHE ASKED HIM OUT ON A DATE??? WAIT WHAT’S A DATE? oh this poor sheltered lil bby doesn’t know what romance and dating and all that stuff is. Hilda’s got her work cut out for her.

so Hilda’s teaching N all about what ppl do when they’re dating and stuff. And N’s just like, actually writing down notes. oh this sweet pure boy.

and they date for quite some time too! Hilda’s bro was really surprised that his twin sister and their former enemy/rival lasted so long. But he did give N the whole “protective brother speech”, but mostly as a joke. Except he didn’t realize N would take it so seriously and was quite literally shitting himself (there were a lot of awkwardness happening and Hilda scolded Hilbert for scaring her boyfriend like that).

N tries to be the perfect boyfriend, but keeps stumbling b/c he doesn’t really know anything about being a boyfriend? like again, he’s a sheltered lil bby, so he doesn’t know the right social cues and mannerisms when it comes to dating. But thank god Hilda’s there and honestly? She doesn’t care about the whole facade of being the “perfect boyfriend”. As long as he’s there with her by her side and being himself, that’s all that matters. She doesn’t want him to be someone he’s not in order to make her feel happy.

They also have a LOT of great communication with each other. Hilbert was definitely one of those that assumed N wouldn’t try to convey his feelings to Hilda, but he was surprised yet again at how wrong he was. N and Hilda has the most healthy relationship he has ever seen??? like, N and Hilda talks a lot???? N would ask questions, he would voice his concern??? Hilda would reassure him that he’s okay??? And like

they just talk and communicate a lot and it’s so beautiful.

once N’s gotten a hang of dating and understanding the whole boyfriend/girlfriend deal, he’s become so much happier being able to stand by Hilda’s side. He’s learned a lot about life itself from her (and Hilbert too) and the meaning behind the world as a whole. Being with her really opened his eyes to so many things that he has never experienced before growing up. Sometimes he’s ashamed for being so sheltered and naive about everything. But Hilda reassures him that it’s okay and that he can’t help what happened in the past.

it wasn’t until Ghetis came back to fuck shit up did N start to seclude himself. Of course, Rosa and Hugo (Hilda and Hilbert’s cousins) dealt with Ghetis. But N still felt guilty and responsible that Ghetis was still running amuck trying to start shit up again after years of silence from him and Team Plasma.

at this time, Hilda and N have been together for approximately 5 years (idk don’t quote me on that ok). idk they’ve just been together for a real long time now kay. so anyways, Hilda and N are just, so much closer to each other. They may have been together for a long time, but they learn something new about one another each and every day and it’s just beautiful and magical. N loves Hilda with all of his heart, and so does his Pokemon! His Pokemon are so happy that N is happy wtih Hilda. Hilda brings out the best in N and are so grateful to her for what she has done for N. Hilda’s Pokemon also loves N and believes that the two of them can grow and become stronger with each other. They’ve already gotten through troubling obstacles and pot holes that comes their way. 

that isn’t to say that they don’t have arguments! Sometimes they’re about the small stuff, like Hilda wanting to become a Pokemon Ranger and N being against her having to go study elsewhere. He’s insecure about himself still that he doesn’t know if he can handle long distance relationships. He wants her to stay here with him in Unova. But Hilda really wants to be a Pokemon Ranger and feels that it’s her calling. She wants to do it. They do end up reconciling and figuring out what to do exactly to overcome this obstacle. but they still have to have a long distance relationship thing - just until Hilda graduates from Pokemon Ranger school.

during her study abroad, they would video chat a lot, and N would sometimes visit her over there to spend time with her. And sometimes during vacation, she’d go back home to Unova to spend it with him. Except for N, it just wasn’t enough. He misses her a lot and in one instantaneous last minute decision, he decided to move to where she was - just until she graduates. Hilda was VERY surprised about him showing up with his suitcase being like

“hey i’m moving here so I can be closer with you” and he’s living in some small house he bought. He also got a job at a Pokemon Shelter and a Pokemon Daycare and absolutely fell in love with the job. He felt so close to the Pokemon in both the Shelter and Daycare, and his co-workers were absolutely kind! Hilda would visit him at work when her classes and training ends and can really see how bright N shines when he’s doing his job. It’s like she fell in love with him all over again.

fast forward to Hilda’s graduation, her fam is here with her - and N as well - to celebrate her finally becoming a certified Pokemon Ranger. N is absolutely happy and ecstatic that his girlfriend of {insert number here} years is finally a Pokemon Ranger!

they move back to Unova and Hilda proposes to N.

N IS SHOOK

and he says yes before fainting from excitement lol.

so they’re p much engaged and they buy a nice house somewhere in Unova (i haven’t figure it out yet shhhh) and Hilda suggests N open up his own Pokemon Shelter or Daycare because she’s seen him work back in whereever-the-fuck-she-was-when-she-was-learning-to-be-a-Pokemon-Ranger and she tells him how bright and lively and happy he was working there. N doesn’t disapprove of the idea and decides to do just that. So their house ends up being converted to a Daycare and Shelter. Thank god they have a huge ass backyard and stuff amirite folks? They also had to do some construction stuff, so now they have an upstairs as well as a ground floor (which is behind their “store” front of sorts).

the Shelter and Daycare is opened and it’s been so successful! N would find abandoned Pokemon and would rescue them and bring them back to nurture them. He’s even hired a few employees who are dedicated to the cause to help out around the store. It’s also great to have extra pairs of hands to help handle all the Pokemon that comes through. And about a year or two after the opening, Hilda and N get married and everyone’s invited.

A ship I have with said character: Kuroshipping :] Its very casual for me in that I can see either perspective of people who see Hilbert as Aro, and I don't really see either Hilbert or Cheren being wholesome head over heels for each other but they really do radiate that energy of "If our company allowed gayness to be explicitly shown we would be an endgame couple" They just have an energy where they would be chaotic but in such a fun and loving way (though they probably would mellow out once they reach their twenties) the kind where you probably would just think they were close friends from a glance gthhgtuighg

A BROTP I have with said character: I WILL FOREVER STAND WITH HILBERT AND N BEING THE BROTHERS EVER AND HOW THEY BREAK THE CHAIN OF BROTHERS FIGHTING OVER DRAGONS

Just ahguhtuhgtgtihu I have so much to say about these two I cannot fit it in one ask fiuhtguihtg. Brothers who didn't know they existed until found, thinking both are heroes with roles sprung upon them from early ages in different points of their lives, instead of breaking over time they slowly melt together like glue, both feeling the need to reconnect after their own individual self journeys are complete, finally breaking a chain of pain and suffering even if it hurt to get there...aaaaaaa I care for them so muchhhhhhhhh

PLUSPLUS HE AND HILDA ARE TWINS YOU CANNOT CHANGE MY MIND IUHTIGUHTG just the general idea of an extra sibling not burdened with the pain of being a hero at one point in time like her brothers thus being a way to keep both grounded, while STILL not being a perfect person herself able to rely on her siblings its aughhghghghgh I love themmmm

A NOTP I have with said character: I'm sorry but if you ship Hilbert and N (+Hilda and N for that matter) I will hate your guts and I hate how a lot of the tags are filled with that shit ;-; I just want sibling content (I'm neutral on Hilbert X Hilda since they aren't canonically siblings despite how I plead and beg, I just ignore and move on with my day lol)

A random headcanon: YOU GET TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE BABY

First one kind of ties to the brothers at peace thing, is whatever dragon Hilbert ended up getting depending on the region, after he and N reconnected, N just kind of ended up getting both dragons over time from Hilbert. Its not like official or anything, but Hilbert noticed how often N borrows his dragon and is fine with never getting it back. He is just happy N can be at peace with both of the dragons :)

AND THE OTHER IDK HOW MUCH I CAN FIT basically, I think Hilbert never became champion. He didn't really have a major goal of becoming one like the other protags before him, but that doesn't mean he hated the idea or anything, he just wasn't sure if that was what he wanted to do, and used his journey as a way to internally see what he should do. After the whole "Unintentionally becoming a chosen hero to fight his spiritual sibling" thing, a lot about N really stuck to him, wanting to find him for several reasons (like wanting to make sure he is okay, potentially bringing him home, saying the stuff he said in Masters etc etc). He didn't really act upon this until he was initially fighting Alder. He was literally on Alder's last Pokemon before he called the match off on his own terms.

After this he went on his way across the regions looking for N, which took a major toll on him the two years he was gone, mainly mentally. He had a hard time really justifying himself to relax, and almost ghosting everyone he ever knew also hurt a lot (The most he did to contact was write letters once in a blue moon to his mom, letting her know he was okay, but since he was on the move so much she didn't even really get the chance to write back)

I want to write a fic about this someday but basically I imagine Cheren was the one to find Hilbert outside of Unova and convince him to come home, and the reunion for everyone included so many tears and hugs. After some time home, Hilbert would go to Pasio (With the Unova gang of course) and reunite with the one he longed so much to meet again

General Opinion over said character: I am very normal about him. I know a lot of the stuff is kind of made up from my mind but in my defense I kind of have to at points this poor boy gets no lines in his own game lol

I care for him so much and I hope for the day Pokemon realizes the potential of some kind of anime based on him (never will happen but I'm used to things I want not happening lol)
