a/n: i've had these ready for about a week or so but for some reason i haven't posted them? idk, but i do hope you enjoy heh i had fun.

❀ Nerd! Hanji who has been your close friend since the two of you were young. They were always a bit awkward and going around studying frogs or collecting rocks, but you were always following closely behind with a pencil sharpener and a box of band-aids.

They were constantly trying their best to make sure everyone in class was happy and also having their concerns being heard. They ran unopposed for over five years, mainly because there was nobody else who could have done a better job than them.

Number one is that they didn't think you felt the same way and, number two, because they wanted to wait until you both got to college and had an idea of what you were looking to do for the rest of your life.

❀ Nerd! Hanji who constantly needs to buy new pens and pencils because they are often biting the back of it or the cap. They have come home with blue or black ink on their lips more times than you can count on one hand.

❀ Nerd! Hanji who sometimes forgets to eat so you always bring them food regardless of where they are. They always blush and tell you not to trouble yourself with these kinds of things but you can't help it. Knowing that they are using all that brain power with no fuel makes your heart ache. So you always give them extra food and water.

❀ Nerd! Hanji who tilts their head when they are thinking about stuff. They do it regardless if they are at work or if they are at home. So you just know they could be looking for a bacteria in a sample or for the extra block of cheese in the back of the fridge, the look is the same.

Nothing Bad Here - Part 4

Joel jerked awake to Ellie’s scream. He flung himself out of his bed and across the hall. She was still asleep, whimpering softly, but she had definitely screamed this time.

He shook her gently, then released her, not wanting to restrain her as she woke up. She lashed out when she jolted awake, sitting up and punching him in the shoulder, but focused on his face and fell forward into him.

“It’s ok, babygirl, you’re safe.” He sat down on the side of the bed, tucking her into his arms, repeating that she was safe. Her sobs wrenched at his heart, but he just rocked her slightly, whispering reassurances. She clutched at his arms, whimpers escaping through sobs. Joel closed his eyes. He knew she was hurting, he knew she was traumatized, but what was she dreaming about? How often had she had dreams like this, and he hadn’t woken up? Hadn’t heard?

It took her a while to calm down. When she finally pushed away from him and wiped her nose with the back of her hand, he stared down at her, concerned. She turned away slightly, scrubbing the tears from her eyes and cheeks. He sat patiently, waiting to see if she’d say anything. She scooted away, settling back into her bed. He kept watching her.

“Do you have dreams like that a lot?” he asked quietly.

She nodded.

“Do you wanna talk about it?”

She shook her head, pulling her blanket up to her chin.

He sat still for a moment. “All right. Offer stands whenever, ok?”

She glanced at him, averting her eyes immediately, but nodded.

“I’ll stay here until you fall back asleep. You’re safe, babygirl.”

She nodded, leaning back into his side, eyes still wide open. He put his arms around her, holding her to him. He didn’t leave her even after she fell asleep.

Ellie bounded down the stairs the next morning, nearly running into Joel in the kitchen. He dodged around her, raising the pan in his hand.

“Hot pan, watch out!” That was his annoyed tone, but the one he only used with her that actually meant he wasn’t annoyed.

Ellie grinned, looking at him. “Whatchya making?” She grabbed something green from a bowl on the table and took a bite. She looked at it. “Whoaa, crunchy!”

Joel laughed, putting the pan back down on the stove. “Tommy came by this morning with a couple eggs and those sugar peas.”

Ellie sat at the table, looking at the green pod in her hand. “Peas,” she repeated, popping the rest of it in her mouth. “Wild.”

Joel shook his head, turning back to the egg on the stove. “I forget you never seen so many foods. You’d lose your mind if you saw a grocery store display from before,” he waved his hand across himself like he was presenting a display to her, “veggies in every color!”

She shook her head. “I can’t believe you used to have whole stores full of any food you might want. You must have been so fuckin’ spoiled.”

He grinned, flipping the egg onto a plate and putting it on the table in front of her. “We all took it for granted, that’s for sure.” He dropped the pan into the sink, wiping his hands on his jeans. “Tommy says they’ve got all kinds of things growing here. You’re gonna have to try them all.” He frowned to himself, sitting down across from her. “I hope you’re not allergic to anything.”

She laughed, picking up a fork. “You worry too much. Cordyceps doesn’t hurt me, I don’t think I’ll be taken out by a fuckin’ vegetable.” He looked down at the table, smiling to himself, and her face fell blank for a moment. She shook her head, stabbing her fork into the egg before Joel looked back at her. Yellow leaked out. “What! It’s yellow inside?! That’s so weird!” She pulled at the leak with the tines of the fork.

“Didn’t they teach you anything at that shitty school?”

“Yeah, how to kill and how to die, you know FEDRA.” She froze for a moment, staring past the egg. Joel frowned, watching her. She glanced up at him, her eyebrows drawing up and eyes widening slightly at his expression. She schooled her face and grinned at him again, shoving a bite of the egg into her mouth. She laughed, catching the yolk running down her chin and wiping it off.

He wouldn’t worry if he thought she was happy.

OK SO LET’S TALK ABOUT DARIUS AND ALADOR IN THAT LAST PART OF THE FINALE

Before I get into that though, I want to say that from what we’ve seen, I think Darius and Alador have some kind of potentially romantic history during their Hexside days. Maybe they started dating a little, maybe they were going to, or maybe Darius said he had feelings for Alador, but no matter what it is, I think there was some kind of romantic history that eventually ended badly, leading to Darius calling Alador “a hack” and the rivalry they seemed to have in season 2.

So now, let me show a few images from the scene right after Alador successfully removed a coven sigil.

Ok so let’s look at the progression here. Initially, Darius is amazed, literally his mouth is wide open and he’s starting because it worked, the coven sigil is gone.  Then, in his amazement, he grabs Alador and starts shaking him, kind of like in a “are you seeing this, look it worked, did you see that??” kind of way. He’s amazed, he’s excited, he’s reaching for Alador and then-- And then Darius realizes what he’s doing.

Now, before I continue to ramble here, I want to point out that in order for Darius to become the Abomination Coven head and successfully be a rebel without being caught or raise suspicions, he had to be a very, very, good actor. Because of the toxic work environment that the castle was and what probably would have happened if anyone found out that Darius was a rebel (looks at the Conformatorium and possibly the petrification ceremony because at that point Darius potentially would have been viewed as a threat to Belos), Darius has been acting for a while. (Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if putting on an act was second nature to him by this point but that’s another ramble in itself, lol).

Now, back to the scene. When Darius realizes what he’s doing, he freezes. He was visibly excited, no act, no mask, and suddenly he was very close to Alador. And what did he do? He instantly moved away, turning away from Alador.

Let’s look at Darius’ body language here. Now to me, just about everything with Darius in that last image reads as defensive. He was close to Alador, and then once he realized what he was doing he instantly turned away from Alador. He’s leaning away from Alador, he has his arms crossed over his chest, which also reads as defensive, and he looks upset. Not glaring at Alador, which you’d think he would do if he was still keeping with the whole “Alador’s a hack” thing, just upset.

Or, at least half of his face does. 

Let’s look at just the left half of his face for a moment. There’s a slight blush, he has one eye closed, and the side of his mouth there is turned up almost in a smile. With just that half of his expression in mind, it makes me think of someone who has a crush. Now the right half of his face. Even with just that part of his expression in mind, he doesn’t look mad at Alador, or trying to play the part of a rival... he looks upset. Hurt. Maybe a little tired. To me, it looks like someone who’s trying to remind themselves not to do something because they don’t want to get hurt.

Honestly, to me it looks like Darius is trying to tell himself not to get too close to Alador. To me, it looks like he went on the defensive, that he’s upset with himself and trying to tell himself “don’t go down this road again, you only got hurt the last time”.

My own headcanon is that Darius and Alador started dating during their Hexside days, but then Odalia made Alador break things off with Darius. It lead to a bad breakup, or at least one with a lot of hurt feelings in Darius’ case, which then led to the rivalry thing they have going on in season 2. If that’s the case, then that would explain Darius’ reactions in this scene. I admit, I could be wrong, but I think it’s a possible theory.

This one goes out to all the bitches who love some good Safehouse Era Horror. It's me, I'm bitches. I want Jon and Martin to be fucked up and eldritch but I want them to be fucked up and eldritch and loved

(Notes under the cut because I can't help myself. Heads up, I do go into some detail of how Jon gets injured so I can explain my thought process for how I designed his scars. All canon-typical and fairly clinical in tone.)

Here's how I picture Safehouse Jon!

He doesn't need glasses anymore by this point, so he should just be wearing empty frames, but I drew this before I settled on my glasses headcanons. This drawing looks better with the reflection anyways.

He hasn't gotten a haircut since before his promotion to Head Archivist. He doesn't love the weight of it on his neck, but he also uses it to fidget, and he really doesn't want to go through the whole process of cutting it. He's disliked haircuts since he was a kid (People: Bad. Small talk: Bad. Touching: Bad. Loud sounds: Bad. People talking all at once: Bad) and since his time with the Circus he's only grown more reluctant to go and get it done.

At this length his hair is naturally pretty curly but he is. Not taking care of it. I actually put a lot of effort into trying to make it look brittle and tangled (I have a lot of experience lol, my hair is quite thick and I've always hated taking care of it. Yes I am also projecting my feelings about going to a hairdressers onto him why do you ask.)

The various scars were a bit of a strange task, but anyone who has seen my takes on The Bad Kids knows I'm not averse to selective realism in my fiction. Easiest one was the neck, I always pictured Daisy making a vertical cut based on "through the voice box". The larynx is longer than it is wide, so I think Daisy would go for the method that dealt damage across the largest total surface area. Yes I am aware that I'm speaking the same way Martin does when he explains his corkscrew.

The worm scars were easy because I barely drew any. There are a few marks on his cheek, but they're just surface bites. I picture most of his encounter with Prentiss showing on his legs, particularly on the right side, with enough damage there that he starts using a cane after the incident to keep weight off his right leg. More research to be done on this particular detail.

Finally the burn on his hand from Jude. This was the weirdest one to figure out just because of the nature of the injury. How do you quantify the damage done to an epidermis by a living manifestation of sometimes-boiling wax that can heat and cool at will? I settled on it being a second-degree burn that healed supernaturally fast, containing the damage to the space Jude had direct contact with. He'd probably have some mobility issues there as well. I know there are ways to help with mobility and pain after a severe burn, but I don't know how much of it Jon would actually. Do. Like I said, definitely further research to be done on these last two.

Hey so I'm gonna ask you to stop and consider the horror of the watcher. The helplessness. The guilt. The inherent terror of being a spectator, a participant by proximity but not by action. The horror of not being able to look away, of being a bystander. Jon forgets to blink sometimes. But wouldn't it be so much worse if there were no eyelids at all? That's how I interpret the description of The Archivist being "All Eyes" :D

I love a good Many-Eyed Jon, so I whipped up my own interpretation here. I think the more he Becomes the more he starts to resemble the thing from the dreams. He has a lot more control of it in S5, but it still creeps up on him and he has to consciously go back to a human shape.

Nightmares

Pairing: Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Civilian!Reader Scenario: After finally moving in with Simon you are still dealing with the aftermath of having your flat broken into. Warnings: No mask Simon (It's my personal headcanon in his regular life he probably wouldn't wear it), mention of nightmares, anxiety, angst truama from previous event, comfort, canon-typical swearing.

A sudden shift came from beside Simon that startled him from his sleep, glancing in you direction you were sat upright. Leaning over he flicked on the lamp and then rubbed your back in a soothing way. “Y’okay?” His voice was nothing but a deep grog.

Ever since you’d moved in together there had been nights that you would be jolted away from a bad dream. You’d taken the time to explain to him that sometimes your usually sweet dreams had been plagued with nightmares of your old flat and even this new home together been broken into. Of course, his own brain was plagued with his own deeply traumatic moments that had filled in his life, but to think that you were suffering the same hurt him so deeply. He needed to fix this… if it could be fixed.

After a few moments Simon wandered downstairs himself to find you sat at the kitchen table, hands cupped around a warm mug of milk. “Babe.” He muttered seeing the tears present on your cheeks. “Bloody hell.” Muttering under his breath as he wrapped his arms around you, tugging you into the warmth of his chest. “Deep breaths now. C’mon.” He pressed a kiss to your hairline. “Shh... S’alright…”

You’re allowed to feel scared.” He said then. “I was fuckin’ scared.” The admission seemed to surprise you both. “When you called me that night, when I heard your voice... when I got there and saw the police… fuck, I was… fuckin’ terrified.”

Jayce and Viktor are both very understanding people, so when you told them you had ADHD they didn’t have a problem with it. They are, however, problem solvers (they are inventors with the dream of making Piltover and Zaun better for the people), meaning they are very curious about your habits and how they can help. They don’t want to “cure” you, because there’s nothing to cure, but they want to understand how to reassure you and how to make living with ADHD easier on a day-to-day basis

If you’re someone who fidgets with things a lot, Jayce will happily pick up the task of making something that satisfies your need to occupy your hands and your thoughts. He loves being in the forge and he’ll gladly let you sit in there with him and listen to you describe what you would want. He’ll sit next to you, sketching out the design while you ramble about what textures are better than others or how weighty it should feel in your hand. If you like rambling for hours about your latest hyperfixation, Viktor is the best for that. He has a naturally curious mind and would love to learn something new. He especially likes it when your head is resting on his chest in the middle of the night. He doesn’t just listen—he’ll ask you questions or give you reading material he thinks you may like as well

Going to Council parties or even just walking through Piltover can really overwhelm you sometimes, either with all the noise or the texture of your clothing feeling off, so your partners are very attentive to your wellbeing. The three of you set up a codeword for anyone to use when someone needs or wants to leave. They try to make it something funny every time to hopefully ease the panic a little bit. Usually Jayce and Viktor are glued to either side of you hip, but in the off chance they have to roam around the room, the two of them will try to keep an eye on you. They will always reassure you that it's ok that they are leaving these sorts of events early (Viktor barely wants to go in the first place), and when you get home the three of you will do something to calm everyone down and get into comfortable clothes

Having ADHD, you tend to get distracted/forget to do certain things. This usually includes eating. Your partners never want to seem overbearing or like they're smothering you, so they will try to subtly remind you to eat/do certain things. Jayce likes writing you little notes and putting them in the apartment. Usually they have little hearts in the corners with some encouraging remark after "remember to eat!" Viktor will usually try to eat with you, so you won't feel alone while eating. He'll be making something and he'll set the table for either two or three and that just reminds you to actually sit down and eat what Viktor makes

Your partners are very patient and are always open to new ideas. if you want them to do something different or if something works really well, they would love to hear it. They absolutely will not be mad at all, they love you so much and all they want to do is help make things easier for you

Twisted Astro no longer wears that same signature cornflower blue blanket anymore

It's not that he doesn't like it or that the ichor had ruined its quality beyond repair

It's just that he was better things to use it for now

He always kept it wrapped around your figure, practically covering every aspect of your body besides a little pocket that allowed you to breathe comfortably

he always made sure to keep you hidden

he knew how dangerous the other twisted could be, and because of that, it had become his number one priority to keep you safe and sound

although before he had gotten used to your sleepy nature, there was a lot of concern surrounding how many times he had found you passed out somewhere on the floor

at first, he had debated if you had some kind of sleeping disorder like narcolepsy

but after a while, he had found out it was just how you were

that didn't reassure his worries completely, though

part of him was thankful you were always sleeping

despite how guilty he felt about that tiny little pleasure

he knew he was scary

he's seen the fear in your eyes

it had been so long since you've smiled his way

but when you were asleep, it was almost like you trusted him again

he's no longer the same Astro you've known all those years

a voice in the back of his head keeps trying to convince him that if you just see how much he cares for you

It didn't take too long before the twisted had lost their interest in you. The blaring sound of an airhorn had captured its attention quick enough to leave your resting body unharmed. And, with the sound fading into nothing, he made sure to be gentle when holding you close. You had been lucky enough to run into a twisted with a low attention span, and he had been lucky enough to get to you in time before your death could become a possibility.

Your chest rose and fell in an almost rhythmic motion, and if his mind still hadn't been panicking from the idea of losing you this floor, he would've taken the time to admire just how soft your snores were. But, there were still threats on this floor. As much as he would have loved to sit there and watch you sleep, he knew it was only a matter of time before another twisted came along and threatened your safety.

So, in the gentlest fashion, he wrapped your body up in the cornflower colored blanket he always did and wisked you off. He didn't know when you'd wake up from this little nap of yours, and despite how guilty it made it him, he wished it wouldn't be until a few hours. He found comfort in holding you close to him. A comfort he hadn't felt in a long time.

It was cute with how tired you always were, and he was thankful it gave him an opportunity to hold you do tenderly in his two upper arms. He knew if you woke up you'd be terrified. It's happened before. It hurt him having to watch the way your eyes widened, the sound of your hasty breathing had been almost deafening as you tried to bite back a scream.

But for now, he'd have to take it slow. He'd have to ease you into this new form of his. He'd have to teach you that despite how grotesque the view of ichor dripping down from his eyes was, he could be gentle. He could be the same Astro you had loved before. You just needed time, He'd tell himself over and over. You just needed time.

And, until that time came, he'd continue to stay a silent savior. One unbeknownst to you as you slept soundly against him. You could sleep as long as you wanted on these floors. As long as he was with you, he'd protect you. He'd keep you safe.

He's almost too shy to give away the possibility of you knowing how you managed to survive so many floors for this long

With how many times you had just dropped to the floor mid-chase, the others would have assumed you'd be long gone
