Hello! Just a few answers to your replies: i genuinely think the reason the doctors and nurses gave him his little present, is because he was there for the first like 2/3 months almost every other day. And then every week like twice or so. So he was constantly there, talking about qaf and about other random shit and he always brought them snacks that they liked. His 2nd visit he was showing pictures of his friends to the nurses as if they know each other. So i think he has a way to force himself into a persons heart, i guess. But i will also say, the staff was full of sweethearts so that was probably a big reason too. AND YES THE SURGEON WATCHED IT. We flipped out on our drive back home. He really forced doctors and random people to watch a tv show he was obsessed with. Kind of iconic of him ngl. And you are not the only one who had questions! The prom bashing was the entire topic of our ride back home. And he was way ahead of you because he thought about calling the doctor as well but after I and like 5 other people told him not to, he thankfully didn’t. I think he would if he was left alone with a phone.

Just so you know: my brother actually fell to the floor dramatically because he realized maybe 5 minutes after i clicked send, that he mixed up prom ep and 2x20. And then he laid in the middle of the living room while our dad just stepped over him while talking on the phone with a coworker as if it was nothing. After that we got into a fight because he said I should’ve caught his error and I said that he told me to just do and write what he says and then he said I should’ve known better than to listen to him. Bottom line is, our dad sent us both to our rooms because he was sick of us. He also said your spouse sounds fucking cool as fuck because of their ‘Brian Kinney’ era.

The only thing he said after he read your WIP fics responses was ‘well, whatever her and that person who is doing a Hannah Montana with two accounts write next, I’m fucking seated for it. Ready to read’ so, i guess you have a groupie.

And as for the assignments you gave him, he actually laughed at it (nicely not in a bad way) and asked me to reply to you by telling you: that he actually years ago deleted all his social media (the idiot wanted to avoid Marvel spoilers) and then after that it just kind of became a habit. He did think about making an instagram account because for a brief second, he lived in a world where Gale Harold was active on social media. And when he found out that wasn’t the case, he actually went ‘well fuck that then.’ He (i so wish this was a joke bc i was upset yesterday over this btw i will tell you in a second why) gets all his info about anything pop culture related from his friends who do have social media. So his best friend sends him like screenshots of shit they see on IG or whatever. And yesterday THIS is how he found out that Dan and Ron did a podcast interview(?) with Liberty Diner Dish. Because he asked his friend a month ago to check if Mr Harold is active and his friend now just casually keeps tabs on qaf stuff for him (not that he has much to keep up with). And sends him random shit he sees. Anyway, he came to me and showed me the podcast on Spotify and i was actually shocked because he found this before I did. Like what the fuck happened? So he doesn’t actually have any social media. He had a Facebook but mom made him delete it because he used it to bully some of our no contact family members cause of their political views. He had a twitter account from the years 2016-2021…I bet you can guess why.. yes, it was to bully a certain dude and certain groups of people. I will say though, that he did actually really think about making a tumblr account and i was rooting for it and tried to make it happen because why should i be the only one to deal with this shit? But in the end he decided against it. He didn’t really say why or anything like that but I think he kind of likes not being on social media. Which ngl is so fucking ironic because of all of this.

Summary:

The immediate aftermath of the recent events at at Dragonsreach. Tim, Lucien, and Irileth go to have a private conversation at the local Whiterun tavern, The Bannered Mare.

It was almost funny. 

Even when he was constantly suffering from his burns shortly after Helgen, Tim had been reluctant to indulge in any of the local meads, ales, or wines offered at the taverns both in Riverwood and Whiterun. He knew he was just barely eighteen and not the legal age of consumption back home. When he drank any of the alcoholic beverages, it was due to the fact that the taverns had practically nothing else to drink and he honestly questioned the quality of some of the water he was offered. 

Now, about two weeks since Helgen and after that "meeting" with the Jarl, there was no hesitation as Tim took the first goblet of wine the waitress Saadia offered when he, Lucien, and Irileth entered The Bannered Mare. He snagged the goblet and accompanying bottle so smoothly that Saadia almost didn't notice it was gone until the clink of Septims replaced their spots on her metal serving tray. By the time she'd realized the exchange had been made, Tim was already halfway across the room, had poured out his first glass, and was tipping it to his mouth.. 

"Hey--" the dark skinned Redguard woman started to protest, but Lucien stepped in her way and offered a pained smile. 

"Sorry about my friend," he said as he took the other two empty goblets and dropped a few more coins on her tray. "But we really need that bottle right now." 

"Hulda," Irileth addressed the woman behind the bar. "I'm renting the room upstairs for them tonight. Any more food and drink they consume can go on my personal tab. We're not to be disturbed."

Hulda, the tavern's owner, nodded respectfully. "As you wish, Housecarl."

Irileth motioned for Timothy and Lucien to head up the stairs ahead of her before following behind. Once they were in the room, the Dunmer woman sighed with exasperation. "Well that all happened."

Tim had just finished filling Lucien's goblet and offered to pour one for Irileth. She looked like she wanted to decline initially, but then relented and accepted. 

Lucien swirled the dark red liquid in his goblet. "So... I suppose a toast to our new Thane is in order," he said sardonically as he raised the goblet in Tim's general direction. 

Tim rolled his eyes. "Don't you start," he complained irritably. "I still don't know what that means."

"It means the Jarl of Whiterun has given you, a perfect stranger and rumored mythical figure, a honorary noble title, along with all the power and influence behind it, with the same amount of impulse and foresight as those earlier assignments that nearly took your life," Irileth grumbled.

"The amounts of which were entirely too much of the former and not enough of the latter?" Lucien added with a sarcastic lilt to this voice

Irileth sighed at the scholar, but didn't dispute his claims.

"Why did Jarl Balgruuf give me this title in the first place?" Tim asked wearily. "I didn't do anything to deserve a reward this valuable. I feel like it's put me in the Jarl's debt!"

Irileth took a sip from her goblet and sighed. "He made you Thane not because of what you did, but who you are. Rest assured you are not in debt to him or Whiterun."

She leaned against the wall and continued her explanation. "The Jarl, Proventus, and I had spoken at length about appropriate compensation for your work and the pain and suffering you endured because of what you had been asked to do while you were healing at the Temple." She pointed at the cloak-wrapped bundle. "That along with a generous purse of Septims and a choice of a new weapon from the finest pieces Warmaiden's has to offer was to be the original compensation." 

Curiously, Tim set down his goblet so he could unwrap the parcel. His eyes lit up at the new full suit of leather armor folded neatly in front of him. He unfolded just the jacket and studied it appreciatively, leaving the pants, boots, and gloves on the table. The leather was dark brown, high quality from the feel of it, and was reinforced in strategic areas both for added protection and warmth without sacrificing range of movement. It sported a high double-folded collar that would better protect his neck and metal spaulders that would do the same for his upper arms and shoulder joints. 

"This, with the gold and the new weapon, would've been just fine with me," Tim agreed as he set the jacket down on the back of the nearby chair. "Why did the Jarl change everything at the last minute?"

"Is it because of the Greybeards and their 'summons' today?" Lucien asked.

The Dunmer nodded. "Place yourselves on the Jarl's throne. The first Dragonborn acknowledged and summoned by the Greybeards since Tiber Septim during the Second Era is witnessed in Whiterun Hold. This should have been an event of great distinction for the Jarl and his city. Unfortunately. because of his impulsive decisions earlier, that first new Dragonborn to be acknowledged in over one thousand years nearly died before he could fulfill whatever destiny the gods have in store for him." 

Tim didn't know who this Tiber Septim was, but based on the way Irileth spoke of him and the way Lucien seemed to sit up and take notice made it seem like he had another important historic figure to research as soon as he could. 

Irileth looked at Tim. "After the Watchtower battle and you were sequestered at the Temple for healing, the rumors of you being Dragonborn spread like wildfire throughout the city. Some believed immediately while others were quite skeptical. However, I was in the Plains District today when the Greybeards sent their summons." She shook her head. "As soon as that summons went out, those Nords who had been skeptical turned to believers.

"So" Lucien murmured. "Basically this whole overblown escalation of Timothy's compensation by the Jarl was essentially damage control because his actions nearly killed this Era's potential new Dragonborn. Balgruuf felt the need to immediately acknowledge and elevate Timothy's standing to show his appreciation, both to stay in good favor with his citizens and with the Divines."

"I think I can understand the need to appease is citizens, but why the Divines?" Tim asked curiously.

Lucien continued. "Well, the only way a new Dragonborn can exist in this Era at all at this point is if they were chosen and blessed by the Divines themselves. The Septim Dragonborn dynasty was extinguished in the Third Era. Some might interpret this to mean the Dragonborn themselves is a rare gift from the Divines to the world. To even inadvertently cause grave injury to the Dragonborn without adequate recompense could be seen as rejecting their gift and insulting the Gods."

Tim sighed. The more he heard about this title "Dragonborn" in connection to him, the more it felt like a heavy albatross slung around his neck. The idea that some "god" had kidnapped him from Earth just to be a "divine gift" for an alien world made his skin crawl. 

It made him feel less than human.

He shook his head to shove those thoughts back into a dark corner of his mind to be nightmare fuel for another night. "Well, what's done is done," Tim muttered.  "I don't know if I'm this Dragonborn thing everyone says I am. However, I do know I'm now a Thane, for whatever it's worth, and I've been 'summoned' by someone powerful enough to trigger small earthquakes by yelling for me, so I probably shouldn't keep them waiting." In an effort to turn the page on this day's events, he went to his backpack and pulled out his map of Skyrim before looking to Irileth. "Since I don't seem to have much of a choice in the matter, can you show us the best way to High Hrothgar?"

After getting all the information they can to prepare from Irileth, the Dunmer returns to Dragonsreach. Lucien leaves to start purchasing supplies, and Tim changes into his new gifted armor from the Jarl before heading down into the tavern for food and to write in his journal.

Author Note: Going to add a journal entry soon, then going to start the journey to High Hrothgar. I need to test a new mod, though, to add to the immersion and potentially fun screenshots. If it works, then YAY! If it doesn't, then oh well. The story will continue. If it works, I will share the name and link to the mod itself.

Version 1.4 News & other boring stuff

Good whichever-time-of-a-day-it-is! Here’s some irregularly scheduled piece of SpaceSave-related news and some things around it, which affect the development of a new version. It’s been nearly 7 months since the upload of the latest version and around 4 months since last post, so I guess it’s a good time to drop some info. Before we go into specifics, let’s delve into the state of my development process this year.  It’s been a long time, so the post is going to be long as well! I’m sorry...

TL DR(I don’t blame you...): SpaceSave version 1.4 is in development and will release later this year. Also – I’m making a new game.

AlSO, A WARNING – TODAY’S SCREENSHOTS CONTAIN DEPICTIONS OF BLOOD. SO, IF YOU DON’T LIKE THICK TOMATO JUICE – BE WARNED.(I made tags, but I’m writing it here, just to be sure)

These last months has been pretty busy for me, in both personal life and game development. I haven’t been working on SpaceSave’s new version at all, right until three weeks ago or so. As I’ve noted in my last post – version 1.3 turned up to be very time consuming for me, so much so that I had to put my new, main project on hold(I still worked on it from time to time, but the progress was minimal) , just so I could finish the update in a timely manner. I eventually did release version 1.3 on time for my self-imposed deadline and the game was upgraded quite considerably, but it left me burned out in the process and with a small feeling of guilt, caused by ignoring my new project. Thus, after uploading the current version, in December, I’ve decided to take a break from SpaceSave and focus on that new project instead(development of which had a pretty major problem of its own, but we’ll talk about it later ). And this is basically what I was doing since last version’s release. Thankfully, that break was pretty rejuvenating – I’ve came back to SpaceSave, ended up enjoying working on it again and are making progress at a nice pace.

Okay, the boring stuff’s over. Below will be an actual info about new version of SpaceSave and... a new project? Well, that turned out unexpected.

SpaceSave v.1.4

As explained in my latest post about the same issue – this update will be much more humble than the last one, focused mostly on bug fixes, since I want to thoroughly test the whole game again. That being said – there will be some snippets of new content. To not reveal too much right now – one new, shorter questline is planned and I’ve already mapped it out, although I still have to create new(well, mostly recycled, but you get the point) assets for that and actually implement it in the game. As for the new stuff that’s already been added(may contain spoilers):

-          Also, now there are two types of soldiers, instead of one(there are also more sprite variations for them as well) on Day 4:

  Now, the urban(that’s grey, for normal people) camo is the same type of soldiers that were in the base game with the same skills. The green(I call it “forest”) variant however uses incendiary grenades, which can put your entire party on fire. It’s a small change but should add some variety.

-          New Items:

First, there is a new special item that you can get from hidden vendors(what, you didn’t know there were hidden vendors in the game? Well, now you know)

Since there is a new type of soldier, there is also a new type of grenade:

Incendiary Grenade– (Description from the game)

A real thing. Less damaging than a normal one,

but can put all enemies on fire.

The regular grenade also received a small boost in damage, since it was a little too weak in the base game, especially when you remember that it was supposed to be... well... a grenade.

There is a number of other things that I’ve already added, fixes and tweaks, but I’m going to skip them for this post and leave ‘em for an actual announcement, which is still quite a way ahead. I’m going to do a proper post about it, with a release date, as always – at least two weeks before uploading a new version. For now, the progress is going pretty alright, but I still focus more attention on my new project. The plan is, that I’m going to work on SpaceSave as much as I can, but when I’ll notice that version 1.4 will start to eat up into my main project - I’ll wrap the update up, finish things that I’ve already started to work on and release it. Another alternative is that I’ll manage to do all the work I’ve planned to do for this update(I keep a handy list for stuff like that) and if I keep my current pace – it’s pretty likely going to happen.

To summarize – I guess you can expect a new version, at best, in the early autumn. At worst – somewhere later, but it will certainly be this year.

New Project(!):

Yeah, I’ve been talking about it for quite a while, even in this post. I’m making a new game! It’s been in development since late December 2017, two weeks or so after the release of the first version of SpaceSave, although I’d say that I seriously started working on it after version 1.3, since I’ve finally got time to do so. Before that, I was mostly making assets for it.

In the February of this year, I’ve finally got enough assets to start working on a prototype, since this is a quite a different game from SpaceSave, more complex gameplay-wise. Naturally, I’ve wanted to test out how these mechanics work and how the whole game feels to play. Good ideas on paper don’t always result in an enjoyable game. There was also another thing I’ve wanted to check – the engine. For this project, I’ve decided to use the latest RPG Maker MV and there were two reasons for that:

-          Bigger sprite sizes and with these – more detailed sprites – which was the main reason

And obviously...

-          I owned it for some time already and wanted to justify the purchase

However, you’re probably pretty well aware about MV’s reputation as an engine that is pretty unstable. By creating a prototype I wanted to see if that’s true, before I started working on it proper.  And, oh boy, MV didn’t waste any time proving all the bad rumours about it right, for me. I may have sucked at working with it, but when I did – the engine was slow, menus were janky, graphical glitches were everywhere, more complicated events broke almost every time(sometimes they actually worked, but broke later after no changes whatsoever) – hell, sometimes, after the software update, the entire game could break and I had to update project’s files manually.

In short, it was a mess.  It was already March at that point in time and while the progress on the prototype itself was going swell, constant problems in the events for crucial parts of the game were infuriating. Finally, I’ve decided that if I want this project to survive – I need to start over and make it again in VX Ace. I have already made a lot of assets at this point(we’re talking around 86 spritesheets here and that’s only for characters and overworld animations, not counting stuff like tilesets here) and while battlers and animations could be reused no problem – all the sprites made by MV’s standards and most pictures made for MV resolution had to be redrawn. It was a hard decision to make, since it would take a very long time, but I’ve decided to go for it. The only possible alternatives were either keep making it on MV and risk creating an inferior game(at best) or to scrap it altogether. I really like this project and want to see it to the very end, like SpaceSave, so I didn’t want it to just die in such an anticlimactic way. So, for the rest of the March and the entirety of April – I’ve managed to painstakingly remake every single graphical asset that needed it, to fit VX Ace’s standards. T he operation was a success and I’ve finally been able to continue my work! But before that, there was still one thing to do.

When I was busy remaking assets, the prototype for MV was obviously put on hold. However, after I’ve finished working on the asset problem, I’ve decided to complete that version. It was already half-done anyway, so sure, why not - I could still use it to test out the game mechanics, even if some of them will probably be borderline broken. I’ve spent the entire May working on it and finally – on the very first day of June – it was sent to a few carefully selected victims individuals.

The prototype in its barely working state, to my relief, turned out pretty fine. All the mechanics are there, giving me a good blueprint to use in an actual version and its fairly enjoyable. The people I’ve sent it to were pretty positive about it as well. So, everything turned out fine in the end! Now... I just need to actually make the darn game, oh boy...

Anyway, as a reward for you for reading this boring wall of text – here are some screenshots from the described prototype! Please keep in mind, that the screenshots you’ll see below are from a version that will, well, never be released and the actual game will look different, although it will be similar in style and gameplay. That being said – it should give you a general idea about what I’m going for with this game, but remember that it’s VERY WiP. It is also not an announcement(we’re, at the very least, one year before that), that’s why I’m not going to give you any dates, descriptions or concrete information. Sorry, you’ll need to wait some more for that!

edit i didn’t proofread so this is very long: for the tldr i dont know who the commissioners are who contacted the salt post account, i have never taken money before im done art, ive never been rude in dms, ive always kept people in queue updated, never removed someone without telling them, and have never made someone pay a new price if they commissioned when my prices were lower! i hate to accuse someone of this, but all of that stuff was lies and i think they’re just trying to cause intentional issues ;-;

hey i was shown the posts by some of my friends, ive been fiddling with what to say since i dug this account out of the dust kKDJKD

i was trying to think of the best way to send screenshots, or get proof from existing commissioners, or track down some of the people who may have made those messages because i dont recognize those events from any encounter, but in retrospect it doesn’t really warrent me going through every message or trade ive ever sent

that being said, i am happy to provide proof of anything and encounters with any specific commissioner! adding them all here, however, would just be overkill and full of a billion messages sent to my GF if i can’t exclude anything

so, long story short, i don’t recognize the events in those posts from any person on wolvden xD if i did, i’d reach out privately, esp since they alluded to still being in my queue! to clear up some of the complete misinformation...

a. i have never taken payment before i have completely finished a commission! (i asked one user for 5 GC the day before to pay for studs, but it was solely a favour and i have long completed their art and thanked them graciously for helping me out there!) in fact, ask any of my current waitlist that i have sent back premature payments! i have adhd and feel it’s a lot less stress to work this way, especially since wolvden has scammer protection ^v^ im not sure where that came from at all, because i have, from the beginning (and there is proof of me answering this question in my main/oldest thread) said payment will only be after!

b. yep, i have been doing YWHs while i still have a waitlist! however, i was doing these YWHs because i sprained my wrist at work and found it difficult to do anything but colour with my nondominant hand (since i can have streamline on) and desperately needed funds for territory expansion! i specifically opened the YWHs because i didn’t want to take money from people on my waitlist before i had finished ;w;

c. i have never been short with anyone in private messages, nor have i talked to any people on the waitlist like one of the people said in a while :o if anyone has issues with the wait/doesnt have the funds, theyre free to cancel at any time with 0 obligation/issue! just send me a message and they’re good to go, no harm done! if i knew someone on the waitlist was having an issue i would be one hundred percent down to remove them, i have not gotten a single message from anyone regarding that :c

d. i currently have 12 custom commissions sketched, none of which have been paid in any part! you can ask anyone listed on the waitlist about this qwq i also post the WIPs publically on a question/hangout thread linked in my main thread!

e. whenever i have changed payment type (pwyw to set prices, and then increasing set prices) i have completed all previous commissions to the same amount as when they commissioned! i worked in groups of 5 when i did PWYW, and all of the 5 i had put on queue were to be finished to the prices i agreed to before then! in fact when i have increased prices, i specify in the message sending the finished art the amount that they have to pay/not the current prices! why else would i still have the previous prices listed in my main thread, and many comms in waitlist with payments beside them that are less than current prices? ;w; long story short i have never asked someone to pay more than they agreed to at the time they commissioned, and im kind of bummed someone would lie about that along with the rest of this stuff

f. i do take paypal, though that was a super recent change so any paypal comms are at the bottom of my waitlist and 0 money has been exchanged! i have not completed or recieved paypal payment for any wolvden commission ^^

i think thats about everything- again, if the people sending their worries were anyone i recognized/the events were true i would absolutely reach out privately, but i have no clue who they are and you can ask anyone who has recieved art from me or commented in my thread at any time to see if they had an issue!! the idea of people i dont even know having my name messed up for them kind of worried me, so i wanted to download this again and try to clear some stuff up
