;) ~
Hueso’s expression softened and he grabbed a pinch of salt, “I never thought I’d see the day you would have a kid. Just yesterday you were running around with your brothers laughing without a care.”
Hueso hands Leonardo a new bottle and adds, “Now, I’ve hardly seen you smile all day.”
Leonardo tapped Hueso’s bottle with his before taking a quick sip, “A lot happened.”
“So I’ve heard, Pepino.”
Leonardo stops the raised bottle from touching his lips, a wave of some type of grief or relief washing over him and he sets his bottle down. His fingers tighten around his bottle as he asks, “How much do you know?”
“From the look on your face, not enough.”
Leonardo sighs. “I…,” he tries to begin but remains silent as he tries to find the next words.

Time to Play Curios: Albrecht Manor
When it's Halloween, I like to play creepy Halloweenie games. Ok, well I might like spooky games all year-round, but for the horror season it's time to pull out all stops. When I received this package in the mail last month, I knew it'd be perfect for the weekend before Halloween:
Curios: Albrecht Manor is "an epistolary horror mystery experience" by Seb Pines, the first in the new Curios series from Good Luck Press. There is no single person who runs the game. No one knows what they're about to open, other than what you see on the blurb.
The notion of the game is that the players are "Researchers" of "The Archive" who receive evidence and ephemera leftover after the appearance of supernatural phenomena. The details on the Archive is sparse, but you an unbothered dayjob vibe oozes from the tone. This manila envelope is all you're going to get, and your job is to make some declarative statements by the end of the research.
It's a fun space to play. I could see the experience of play spanning the spectrum between a total LARP and completely player-facing. For our game, we were closer to the player-facing end of that spectrum, and had a fabulous evening.
What's inside?
The Albrecht Manor manila envelope contains 11 letters and two postcards, along with a short mailing notice and the "Archive" report card. Like any good horror story, the letters start off tame with bits of weird, yet quickly start including photos, newspaper snippets, blueprints and administrative papers.
From tearing open the letters to the difference in paper textures, styles and handwritten bits were thrilling to handle. We were surprised how each piece, and sometimes innocuous details at first, came back to have us rifling back through what we'd read before.
Play Experience
With the stack of letters in the center of the table, without prior discussion, we naturally began to play by each picking up a letter/postcard, and circling, writing notes, and sharing weird details. This created a fun, anachronistic revelation of details, as sometimes one bit would go unremarked earlier would pop up in someone else's letters.
When an important detail came to the forefront of this developing narrative, I appreciated how the spotlight would pass around each of us adding more context or details or asking questions we weren't sure how to answer. But it's extremely difficult to discuss direct details without spoiling the contents of the letters. The discovery of certain documents and finding the inter-connectivity is the fun of this game.
The game comes with a single paragraph of instruction, which can seem daunting, but I was in awe of how the physical presentation made space for our own curiosity to define the bounds of how we approached the mystery. We examined photos under different types of lamplight, tried using the zoom on our smartphones as impromptu magnifying lenses, and folded paper in all sorts of ways. Most importantly, we were enraptured by this game for nearly three hours and were astonished at how fast the time passed.
We all appreciated how there is no direct, singular answer, and that we the players were the ones to define the story from our collective interpretation. It's not a good mystery, especially a ghost story mystery, if you're not left with more questions by the end.
Spoilers at the next heading!
Three specific moments literally gave me chills. I don't want to spoil those here. After the photo and line break is the report that was sent to the Archivist at curiosarchive.net. I realize now that we didn't "even "formally" discuss how we would classify the Albrecht Manor phenomena, but the classification is hinted at.
While I don't intend to spoil specific details in the letters, the submitted report has major spoilers. So if you haven't played this game, don't read any further!
Submitted Report to the Archivist
29/10/2023
Dear Archivist,
The first sentence on the first postcard, unwittingly, says it all, "the house is a dream."
This group of Archive researchers have deemed this household, built by one Damian Albrecht, to be a spiritual machine. This trap inhabits the mind of its occupants, and grows and shifts according to its creator's and past occupants' hopes and dreams of a warm household. The researchers are even hesitant to call this a haunting, but agree the house appears to be a spatio-temporal machination propelled by the spirits it is required to consume to keep operating. The fire, in this interpretation, is a convenient excuse for the house to re-enter its slumbering stasis. The researchers' consensus is that there must be only one true fire, but could not access WHEN that may be.
The researchers agreed, though without substantial evidence, the purpose of this machine is to sustain not only long life to its creator, Damian Albrecht, but also to impose HIS dream onto others, and subsume their dreams to feed his own. Again, the fire is a convenient cover-up for the displaced spirits Albrecht has trapped.
The researchers were divided on several facets, foremost questioning the actual existence of the principal figures: Alex Dunn and Anne Wilson. Could it be that Alex Dunn is in fact Albrecht? Has the persona of Alex Dunn created the character of Anne Wilson to represent the inhabitants of St. Ann? Will there be an all-consuming fire that destroys the town, and this house (and letters) are calling the community to action, as a sort of warning? Does Albrecht Manor's machinery twist and channel the powers of the Catholic Saint Ann, whose emblem is a Door, to imbue itself with supernatural power? If Alex Dunn is/was a real person, were they drawn to the house due to past trauma involving Anne and the implied kitchen fire that took place in the past? Did this oft-alluded-to fire kill Anne?
Many loose ends remain, but these Archive Researchers remain confident that the initial readings of the Albrecht Manor as deviating from the traditional haunting are correct. The "ghosts" are most likely Albrecht himself, and the temporal echoes of the Manor's past occupants. We put forth that through mechano-spiritual insights, "Damian Albrecht" built Albrecht Manor to trap people into its/his dreams of a perfect home. As a single household can never be "perfect" in his madness, the Manor and its master yearn to consume more ideals to feed this imperfect spiritual machine.
Thank you for reading, dear Archivist.
All best, Chris Air & Friends.

9 and 7 for the ask game!
9. What’s your favorite line(s) or scene(s) that you have written?
here's a bunch of my favourites because i hate choosing and also i'm obsessed with myself (/j)
i loved figuring out the sixth degrees of separation line in 'black coffee, i'm your coffee guy' (aka "Trevor’s best friend’s friend’s boyfriend’s best friend’s roommate’s frenemy"). it was just fun to figure out how to connect all of them together.
my favourite cheesy line from 'ballerina': “Believe me, a proper ballet would blow you away much more than I could.” Max disagreed. He didn’t think anyone could blow him away more than she did every day.
honestly the entirety of 'ballerina' (i know it doesn't ask for a whole fic, just give me this). like it was just such a fun fic to write and i'm very proud of it, even if it's one of my least popular cornley fics.
this one from 'store-bought-soup': (“No, the other left.” “I thought you meant your left, not mine.” “We’re facing the same direction.”) i just love some dennis dumbassery.
i love all of 'spreading sunshine' but i don't want to just say the entire fic again, so i'll go with the 8th section of it (aka sandra's section), it was fun to write the hijinks.
one of the lines i'm proudest of out of ALL of my fics is from 'the grief is yours': "The words, and the confession behind it, sit between them for a second. A kindred secret, one not shared for fear of punishment, uniting them in love and grief."
when i reread it, my main thought is always how i could have done it better (which i'm just taking as a sign that my writing has improved at least a little bit since then), but i really adored writing chapter 13 of 'the way back home'. definitely not my best work, but it was the first chapter i wrote of twbh and i had so much fun with it and because of that it's one of my faves.
and now! a line from a fic i have not yet published, but i am hoping to finish once i'm done with the one i'm working on currently! consider this a little preview (since it doesn't really contain any spoilers): “Maybe in the future,” she said, “fabula pergendum shouldn’t apply to people who have just received major head trauma after falling from ten metres above the ground.” i just think it's silly goofy (especially compared to the rest of the fic. but shhh).
7. What’s a troupe you love to write?
i mean, who would i be without my fluffy found family content? not sure if it counts as a trope but i also love writing au's (i have so many planned and have yet to get to them ugh). also not sure if this one's a trope, but i love fics that are split into sections (eg 5 +1's) i just find that a bunch of little snippets making up a story is really entertaining to write. i have also discovered that i love writing major character death. my next two fics are major character death. be afraid.

Kaiju Media Forecast 2020
The kaiju fandom has certainly seen a gigantic upswing in content since the last time I did one of these “year going forward” reviews. Let’s take a look at some of the major movies, events, merchandise and more that kaiju fans have to look forward to in the coming year!
Movies
Every year since at least 2013, the kaiju fandom has had one “tentpole” film event of the year, usually the most highly anticipated feature coming out that year that most media and merchandise hype will surround. This year’s choice is the latest (and possibly last?) of the Legendary MonsterVerse which just last year introduced us to the first American incarnations of Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. Later this year, the King of the Monsters will once again take on the King of Skull Island in a rematch nearly 60 years in the making with Godzilla vs. Kong. The only snippet of footage we’ve seen is featured in the screenshot above and recently leaked toy fair displays have quite a lot in store for the big crossover event of the MonsterVerse. Godzilla vs. Kong drops November 20th.
According to your definition, the first kaiju film of 2020 launched two weeks ago with Underwater. The Kristen Stewart-helmed deep-sea monster movie isn’t really making the splash it was looking for box office-wise and most people who have seen it say that it’s okay at worst. Regardless, if you like big monsters and quasi-Cloverfield type films, you can give it a shot in theaters now or in a few months when it hits home media.
Godzilla’s sole big screen appearance won’t just be limited to the big crossover with Kong as a snow-covered cameo role will land him a spot in the new Shinkalion movie. From a clip posted on Yahoo Japan (refresh the page if it doesn’t work) Godzilla briefly faces Hatsune Miku piloting a giant train-based mecha (I tried pinching myself, believe me) at the very end. This role is likely going to be very short but nonetheless, it’s always satisfying to see Godzilla pop up in the most unexpected places.
Again, stretching the definition of “kaiju” here, but also apparently the Monster Hunter movie still exists and is coming out later this year in September? I don’t know much about the franchise, but I do know it’s probably going to be butchered with a Paul W.S. Anderson directed schlock fest. Who knows, maybe the monster scenes will make up for it?
As is tradition, the Ultraman franchise hits us once again with an annual theatrical movie based off the previous year’s show. Ultraman Taiga The Movie: New Generation Climax will be out in March and judging by the title, will feature a climactic event featuring the New Generation assortment of Ultraman heroes. I still have yet to see Taiga but hopefully this provides a fun conclusion to the show.
Famed director Hideaki Anno returns to the world of his most famous creation with Evangelion 3.0+1.0, the highly anticipated final installment in the Rebuild series to be released this June. I have not seen any of the Rebuild movies myself but this is sure to be a wild and crazy ride for Evangelion fans.
Finally, the oddball of the bunch. Kadokawa rises from it’s dusty grave with a brand new monster film focused on the unproduced predecessor to Gamera: Nezura 1964. Featuring giant rat monsters and a cast comprised of many Daiei/Kadokawa favorites, it’ll be interesting to see if this film can capitalize on the recent kaiju craze and be successful enough to possibly give our old turtle friend the revival he truly deserves. Nezura 1964 is due out in December in Japan.
Television
Not much on the television docket this year. It’s far too early to speculate about Tsuburaya’s next Ultra series, leaving us with little to discuss. Studio Trigger is supposedly making some kind of new series related to it’s Gridman show from last year (another item I have yet to see). Titled SSSS.DYNAZENON, nobody knows when it’s due out so for all I know this could be a rather outdated entry.
What we do know for sure is coming is something not particularly kaiju but still related via the tokusatsu connection is the continuation of Kamen Rider Zero-One, the first Rider series in Japan’s newly named Reiwa period. This isn’t really related to the year 2020 but honestly I’d rather have something in this TV section to talk about than just the Gridman sequel.
Merchandise
Last year was one of the greatest years in the history of the American Ultraman fandom with the officially sanctioned releases of Ultra Q, Ultraman, Ultraseven, Ultraman Orb and Ultraman Geed to Blu-Ray in the West for the very first time. In this new year, Mill Creek will continue to satiate the needs of Western Ultra fans with releases of previously unseen-on-western-disc series Return of Ultraman, Ultraman Ace, Ultraman X, and the Ultraman Orb Origin Saga. A schedule flyer released online also teases many other entries in the franchise making the continuous release of these beloved shows a treat to look forward to. You can pre-order the four releases discussed above on Amazon.
American toy company Playmates acquired the license for the Godzilla vs. Kong toyline last year and in early January, a few figures from their non-film focused toylines showed up at Walmarts across the country. They’re uh...well, let’s be honest: they’re not great. Leaked images of the Godzilla vs. Kong toyline were also shared around social media but I’ll avoid talking about them here for spoiler purposes. Let’s just say the line is looking mighty juicy for kaiju fans and it will be interesting to see if they’re promoted come New York Toy Fair.
Bandai’s Movie Monsters Series line will likely continue to issue newly reissued/remolded monsters in the Godzilla line (as well as produce new figures for Godzilla vs. Kong) but coming out in March is a sight for sore eyes: a brand new sculpt of the 1995 Gamera design for the 25th anniversary of Gamera: Guardian of the Universe. Hopefully a Super Gyaos is not far behind!
The S.H. MonsterArts line had a fairly predictable and underwhelming list of releases last year. Great figures for the most part, but obvious choices without much surprise. This being a movie year, I don’t expect much to change and we’ll likely see Godzilla vs. Kong figures soon enough. What is confirmed and releasing in May is their take on the Burning Godzilla design featured in Godzilla: King of the Monsters last year. Originally a Tamashii WebShop exclusive, it’s being released in America by Bluefin around June.
Media company SRS Cinema continues to throw unexpected independent kaiju films our way with releases of Deep Sea Monster Reigo and Deep Sea Monster Raiga last year on limited Blu-Ray and wide-release DVD. They’ll continue the assortment this year with Attack of the Giant Teacher and Raiga vs. Ohga. The films likely won’t be much to look at, but more independent kaiju films seeing a western release is never a bad thing. Here’s hoping Daikaiju Eiga G or Gehara see a release soon.
In an almost perfect repeat of Daiei and Toho’s box office bout sixty years ago, boutique label Arrow Video has reportedly secured the rights to the Gamera franchise and are planning a box set that could rival Criterion’s late 2019 release of the entire Showa Godzilla series. Arrow Video puts out sublime products and kaiju fans will likely want to keep their eyes peeled for this set, even if they’ve already secured Mill Creek’s rather dull bargain sets from years past.
While not on the docket for tie-ins to Godzilla vs. Kong (yet), NECA will likely be continuing to pump out new figures in their Classic Godzilla line. No brand new sculpts are known at the moment, but fans can look forward to a blue, poster-styled repaint of their KOTM Mothra figure and some reissues of their older molds in new box-styled, poster-featuring packaging. Some, like the 1985 Godzilla, might even feature newly molded details.
In rather shocking news, Media Blasters has seemingly propped one of its kaiju films up from the depths of licensing hell with an announcement of a Blu-Ray release of Gappa the Triphibian Monsters scheduled for a February release. The out-of-nowhere circumstances surrounding this release as well as a proclaimed inclusion of an “uncut” Japanese release (despite the International version containing more footage than the Japanese version) and Media Blasters rather spotty history regarding kaiju Blu-Rays should have folks taking this with a grain of salt until the actual discs are in collectors’ hands.
Events
As per usual, the kaiju fan’s Woodstock G-FEST will be continuing it’s annual celebration of all things giant monster from July 10-12 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, IL. No guest announcements at this time, but fans looking to go should register and book a hotel immediately as attendance will continue to spike and rooms in the convention’s hotel are already sold out.
As is tradition, the San Diego Comic Con will take place this summer a week after G-FEST is over and will likely bring with it new information on Godzilla vs. Kong and many other kaiju-related media. NECA will possibly show off new figures and we may even see some post-2020 information on the MonsterVerse.
Not necessarily guaranteed, but kaiju fans may also want to look out for this year’s New York ToyFair taking place in February. ToyFair has pretty much become the SDCC for toy collectors with many companies showing off their new products for the new year. Kaiju collectors will possibly get a glimpse at the Playmates Godzilla vs. Kong assortment as well as a few other possible surprise reveals from other companies like NECA or Diamond Select.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2020 is looking to be a monstrous year for kaiju fans. Hopefully the fandom will enjoy everything to come from our favorite franchises.
Here’s to a happy 2020!

Avengers Endgame download LEAKED online on torrent
In what came as a shocker to the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers Endgame leaked earlier today. Many eager and enthusiastic fans who want to watch this leak online are already downloading the illegal torrents and hosting it across streaming websites. This leak has happened just two days before the release date of the movie.

Let us take a closer look at this Avengers leak and get more details about it.
Avengers Endgame Leaked: Everything That You Need to Know
Earlier, certain portions from the upcoming Avengers movie were leaked online. These were random snippets from the film but now the entire movie has leaked and ended up on Torrents. This has come as a major setback to Marvel and the company is now working forward towards suppressing the stream.
Image: movieweb
This is perhaps the biggest leak in Marvel history as a large number of fans were looking forward to watching this movie in theatres and this was likely to be the biggest opening for Marvel financially. While it would still be a thundering success and most likely the most successful MCU movie ever, the leak will have a significant impact.
Avengers: Endgame Leaked – Online Streaming and Torrents Make Rounds on the Web
Ever since the Avengers movie leaked on the original source (which is yet to be tracked), the movie is making rounds all over the internet and has since been downloaded and duplicated hundreds of times and several mirror links have come up. Some illegal streaming websites have also hosted this Endgame leak allowing fans to watch it online.
Image TimesNow
In addition to this, Avengers Endgame torrent download numbers are also ticking up as torrent websites all over the world have begun to spread it and make it viral. However, before you jump on to these websites which allow you to watch online or download Endgame torrent, you must know that it is illegal as well as unsafe!
Why You Should Not Download Avengers Endgame Torrent
While the leaked movie is out on torrents and online streaming links, it is both unwise and unsafe to do so. This is because first of all, it is illegal to watch and download pirated content. Secondly, scammers and hackers are making use of these endgame torrents to upload ransomware and malware which will infect your computer once you open the downloaded file!
Image ScreenGeek
It is putting yourself at risk legally as well as in terms of cybersecurity! We strongly advise that viewers watch this film in the theatres. Moreover, the grandeur of this movie can only be enjoyed on the big screen that theatres offer.
Marvel Trying to Suppress Avengers Endgame Leak
Ever since the news broke out that an Avengers Endgame leak is making rounds on the internet, Marvel has been trying their best to suppress the links and the streams. However, given that the speed at which content tends to be duplicated and mirrored on the internet, Marvel is likely to meet little to no success.

Please, don’t ask me spoilers about Endgame cause I’m not gonna tell you. I don’t want to risk it, some people may leak them just to spoil others and I don’t want to be a part of that.

Sherlock: "My Baker Street Boys" - An Appreciation
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major plot spoilers for Sherlock. If you haven't seen the show yet, read at your own peril.
In reflecting on many of the pieces I have written for Geekade, I have come to realize that, while I have gratefully presented my opinion on many pieces of significant (at least to me) entertainment, I have not really shared my thoughts on something that I truly went “full geek” for. Maybe it’s the role of the critic to stay back. To disengage. To hold out emotionally from the full-on, out-and-out crazy enthusiasm which makes us all “geeks.” But I have come to the conclusion that my “critical disengagement” is doing a disservice to you, my fellow “geek” readers. What do I geek out about? Well, I’m going to tell you…
It was a late, weekend night. Having stayed up to watch Saturday Night Live, I flipped around the channels until I stumbled onto some concert on the PBS cable channel. (To this day I don’t remember what it was.) Within a few minutes I was sound asleep. A few hours later, I woke up in my recliner with a stiff neck to a program I had never seen. Here was the actor I had seen play the crazy major in War Horse, only now with a full head of curly hair talking to a guy on a rooftop in what looked to be London. The funny thing was, I recognized some of the snippets of dialogue. And then I heard the line.
“Sherlock, your big brother and all the King’s horses couldn’t make me do a thing I didn’t want to.”
Wait a second. Hold the presses. I couldn’t believe it. Someone had created a modern day version of Sherlock Holmes? A version with Sherlock standing off against Moriarty on a rooftop complete with “Stayin’ Alive” playing on a cell phone? Cheeky, modern dialogue with enough remnants of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle canon to pay homage to the greatest detective of all time? To my everlasting good luck, I had woken up to see what would be the most celebrated moment in the short-lived series created by Doctor Who showrunner Stephen Moffat and writer Mark Gatiss.
A little background. Growing up, I stumbled onto the works of Arthur Conan Doyle not by reading, but actually in listening to the record albums of the stories in my local library. I instantly became a fan of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson as they solved crimes in the radio play in my mind. And now, the world had a new Sherlock, a Sherlock Holmes for the 21st century who texted and a Doctor Watson who had suffered from an apparent case of PTSD after having served in the military in Afghanistan. What an ingenious idea. More importantly, what flawless execution. The writing, performances, and extended loyalty to the original works were tremendous.
Of course, I had to watch them all. Of course, I bought all of the DVDs. I eagerly awaited the next Sherlock episodes I could find. Like all of the fans after “The Reichenbach Fall,” I waited for an ENTIRELY TOO LONG A PERIOD OF TIME for the third season. Like all of the fans, I too conjectured on how he could have survived jumping off the rooftop and fooling both John and Moriarty’s hitmen. I thrilled to the wild goose chase Moffatt and Gatiss gave us in the season three opener, complete with “action movie” Sherlock leaping through the window and planting a romantic kiss on Molly’s waiting lips, the “fan-fiction” Sherlock gleefully playing a trick on John with Moriarty (played impeccably by Andrew Scott) to indulge the fantasies of Sherlock’s most “fevered” fans and “conspiracy theory” Sherlock truthfully explaining the trick to a bewildered Anderson in his new career as a Sherlock Holmes junkie. Season three would also introduce us to Mary, John’s love interest and future wife who helped him get over grieving for his friend’s faked death.
I can probably count on one hand the moments in entertainment which have shocked me. Let’s call them, for lack of a better term, “holy s@#t” moments. As in “HOLY S@#T!! CAN YOU BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW??” Vader telling Luke that he was his father on that radio antennae bridge at the end of The Empire Strikes Back. (I’m old enough to have seen it opening weekend in 1980 when the whole world was both shocked and unable to go on Twitter to express that shock.) Dr. Malcolm Crowe realizing that Cole’s gift in being able to see the spirits of the dead included himself, now a ghost and no longer a child psychologist in The Sixth Sense. House realizing his night with Cuddy was nothing more than a drug-induced hallucination in “Both Sides Now.” “To’hajiilee” from Breaking Bad. Any Sunday night spent watching the last ten or fifteen minutes of Game of Thrones.
Sherlock resides in the pantheon of “holy s@#t” moments. The rooftop showdown was one. Moriarty showing up on television screens all around Britain at the end of season three was another. But for me, seeing Mary Watson revealed as an international assassin for hire in “His Last Vow” was the quintessential “holy s@#t” moment. I should have seen it coming. But I missed it. And when the moment came after a brilliant set up, it hit me like a ton of bricks.
That was the great thing about Sherlock. It always surprised me. And it always delivered an incredibly well-acted, well-written performance which never let me down in terms of surprises, twists, and turns. The supporting cast of Gatiss, Scott, Amanda Abbington, Louise Brealey, Rupert Graves, and Una Stubbs were spot on, crafting characters who never disappointed in delivering wonderful moments throughout the series. But the success of Sherlock lay at the feet of the brilliant casting of its leading men. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were stupendous as Holmes and Watson. Their on-screen chemistry was something to behold – two actors trusting the material and each other to forge a believable relationship based on mutual respect and loyalty. Audiences like to pull for characters who like each other. On-screen chemistry is not easy. You know this only too well when you see a show like Friends or The West Wing – ensemble casts which made us desperately want to be part of their inner circle. Sherlock (and specifically Cumberbatch and Freeman) made us want to be a fly on the wall at 221B just so we could see the two of them together.
You may have noticed my use of the past tense in describing the series. As of this writing, no new information has been given about a potential season five. With the careers of Cumberbatch and Freeman thriving (in the MCU amongst other places), season four, with its ups and downs and Mary’s final “Miss You DVD” nostalgically waxing on about her “Baker Street Boys,” felt like the final send off. The Baker Street Boys are now back where they belong, solving crimes and forever reminding us that whenever you really need help, you can always turn to Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.
