Hallo hallo I'm I'm here to ask help about trying to reach sss in battles and stuff~ y'know just girly things 💅✨
Tumblr media
I have been playing since the golden age of not much eng translations and even up till now I don't know ,
S H I T
about what I'm doing in twst even after coming back from a hiatus and be a dedicated grinder once more with much more English translations about the game I still can't reach that sweet sweet SSS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my tests and exams I get an A-SS at best
Tumblr media
So far when it comes to fighting against fire elements I use
SSR Kalimba,Dorm Uniform Jamil
Fg Leona Cockblocker who made me waste gems in the first released of fairy gala till twst decided to reveal Savanaclaw is gonna have a rerun banner and Jack Howl was the first
Lillia Nye The Science Guy, VAMPIRE VIL
Against Water Units
SSR Kalimba,Bday Jamil,Bday Alpha Wolf, Sr robes to hide his alpha form, Halloween Cater (I'm planning to Upgrade Leona 🤬 and VIL 😍 and their 2nd magic level and Buddy magic before replacing one of the Bois since I just recently got Vil...after getting Leona from the new year roll with sebek)
Against Nature (The hardest element I have to fight against especially in chapter 6)
SSR Ultimate Mommy issues! Dorm Jamil and SSR Kalimba, New Year Cabbage Head, Lab Azul
Against Voids
The lawfully legal wedded Scarabian duo in their dorm uniforms, Fg Leona,Little baby red man and Canadian dress Groom (alternatively I'd have Vampire Vil and Lilia Nye the Science Guy)
Finally for Omni I'd have
You guessed it KALIM AND JAMIL AS ALWAYS IN THEIR DORM UNIFORMS,Fg Leona, Vampire Vil, Halloween Grandpa Lilia or alternatively if I were to higher their levels, Leona Cockblocker Dorm Uniform and New Year New Cabbage Hair to replace Fg Leona and Halloween Lilia
I'm planning to Upgrade Malleus soon to utilize him in Omni and Voids but I'm unsure about the team comp if I were to do so
Also gotta love how there's a Tumblr for Twst Gameplay and stuff since the only eng translations I would find back in my day were eng translations of the main stories, so it's really nice to check out the new game mechanics I missed out on especially the guest room, I feel like a grandma who got sent to the retirement home and when I return to the new year suddenly a buncha youngsters decide it would be fun to trash the guest room and rearrange stuff for me and expect me to understand the new technology the added that I'm in denial at how much time passed that I can't keep up, it's confusing for me to understand so it do be noice of y'all to give helpful tips and such like keep up the great work ⊂((・▽・))⊃!!!
Heya~ Man, that takes me back! I’ve been playing since launch and boy, I’m not surprised you came back! I’ve had my little mini-breaks here and there but always got back on like some clingy-ex, not cool 🙄 You could say it's a necessity, much like my magicam account 💅
STOP you’re making 3 years sound like it’s been decades like we’re bout to expire soon 😭 But foreal, our mods have been #MVPs, helping those in need for the longest time #Inspirational #NobelPrizeNominees
And gurl, I feel ya. Let’s be real, who doesn’t want ✨SSS✨? It’s a well-deserved #flex once accomplished, totes post-worthy on all your SNS!
Before we dive in, just making sure you are aware of the two different types, basic and defense tests, right? If not, here’s a link that explains it! Let’s get to the main stage-☆
Fire Basic: Your current team of 5 is honestly pretty solid having 4 duos with decent atks. Just MAX out your ATK buddies and your skills if you haven’t done so already, especially all the DUO magics and Kalim’s M1 so he boosts FG Leona’s Duo, which should be your finisher! If you are invested in FG Leona and want to increase his level with perfumes or by friendship level, I would also recommend adding Rook into your team build as he increases Leona’s atk. (FG Leona at lv110 does 3x10k+ on his duo with Rook in the team, which is HUGE for a defense card)
Otherwise, you could try replacing Robe Lilia and SM Vil with Dorm Riddle and GM Ace. His atk/DUO is a lot stronger than FG Leona for sure, so forming a team around Ace-kun as the finisher is also a good idea. If you have the resources, do consider raising him! He’s my #1 go-to for fire basics (although Dorm Ortho is very close to dethroning his seat if I can get his level closer to Ace’s)
Fire Defense:  Since this isn’t part of the current JP tests, I’ll just quickly go over team building. Basically, you want a team with high HP, and with heals? Even better. Ideally, you want a team that can defeat the enemy in your first move of T5, so if you find that your team is too weak to defeat at the end, consider changing out one of your boys to a strong atk card with water elements!
Some good cards you have on your list are: SSR Dorm Trey, Dorm Deuce, SR Robe Ortho, Lab Idia, Lab Ace, Lab Lilia. But be mindful not to have a team with more than 1-2 flora elements in your team.
Water Basic: Since you’ve recently got Dorm Vil and Leona, those two are a match made in heaven for water basic. So you’d be cray-cray not to add them to your team! Also, consider adding Dorm Jack to your team! I know his M1 is Fire but his base atk is strong and he also has an atk buddy boost with Leona! So very good synergy between those 3 cards together 😎 He’s way better than the Robe Jack you have in your team currently. Once all 3 of their levels and skills are raised, try to mix and match your current team with them. But honestly, the key to a great score in water basic is having Dorm LeonaVil’s magics maxed out
Water Defense: Dorm Trey + Halloween Cater!! Also, I hope you collected enough event drop items to level DW(Dancing and Wishes) Idia’s magic cause he’s very useful in water defense, especially when paired up with Robe Ortho. Idia increases both Dorm Trey and Robe Ortho’s HP, and Ortho also increases DW Idia’s HP. Aaaand Blooms Jack in the final spot as he’s Halloween Cater’s HP buddy as well as his DUO.
Flora Basic: My only input here is to replace NY Sebek with Robe Cater, and no, it’s not 'cause of bias I swear! Dorm Riddle would be your finisher so it’s good to have Riddle’s atk up buddy in your team to increase the finishing blow 🔥 (Also he goes pretty well with your Dorm JamilKalim duo, as Jamil is Robe Cater’s atk up buddy)
Flora Defense: Dorm Trey is still a great card to have in your Flora Defence team, even if his M1 is water. His massive heal and tanky HP are just way too good! A possible team you could use with him is by adding NY Sebek, Beans Jade, Dorm Jamil, and Lab Kalim. Not the greatest synergy-wise (only 2 buddy bonuses), but still has a decent amount of fire spells and 2 heals. Trey's heal should be used in the last turn, but if your team isn't strong enough to KO the opponent, adjust your team since you really don't want Trey to take damage after using his heal.
Aside from that team, you can also use Tamashina Leona + Halloween Lilia since they're both healers, and use Dorm Jamil, Lab Kalim, and NY Sebek.
Omni/Void Basic: Both tests could use the same teams, cause you want BIG damage overall. Just make sure you have a good range of elements in your Omni test as it’s all based on ✨luck✨, so pray that the RNG gods are nice to you.
I hope you do end up giving Dorm LeonaVil some TLC cause they will also be very useful in these tests and will do better dmg than the Scarabia duo, which you could switch over later and replace FG Leona with any Cater or Azul cards, to either activate Riddles Duo or boost his atk. I do like how you make teams with DUOs in mind though! And your current teams are fine ^^
PSA though, void is super hard to score well!! SS is the best we can get so far, and even that is very hard atm unless you are a whale (or extremely lucky with your pulls). But who knows, with M3 and the boosted stats of limit broken cards, it could change later!
Omni/Void Defense: For void, try out Bloom Jack, HW Cater, Dorm Trey, and Dorm Scarabia duo. They have good synergy and high HP! But maybe not for omni tests cause there’s only one fire spell and too much flora…aha
Anyway, I hope this helped you out somewhat! Happy grinding ☆ cause it never stops

Late Night Encounters
Pairing: George x fem!Reader -> Fred x fem!Reader
Warnings: cursing, teasing/rudeness, grinding, mentions of sex
Word Count: 4.7K
A/N: Hey everyone!! Sorry for the (not so) brief hiatus, I entered a relationship that ended and was finishing my last semester in school. Officially graduated!! Thanks for you patience, here’s the first part of a new mini fic (should only be about 5 parts) thats a haters to lovers fic w/ Fred. I will also be updated the New Girl AU soon.
Tumblr media
“I think I’m going to propose to Y/N.”
“You’ve been saying that for years, George.” Fred rolled his eyes, peaking around the bar for a pretty girl to bring home for the night.
“Well, I have the ring, so I’m at least closer.” George shrugged, taking the ring out of his pocket. Fred paused, his heart stopping briefly. He looked at the ring, eyes widening.
“That’s a big rock.” Fred breathed. He felt anxious. Like he was finally losing his brother. He had a lot of questions to ask. Were they going to move out? Was Fred going to have to live on his own? How often would he see his twin?
“The shop did really well last month,” George shrugged. “It was only like a month’s salary.” He added nonchalantly.
“Well, you better do it soon. That girl has been waiting an awfully long time.” Fred spoke honestly. He knew every detail of Y/N and George’s relationship, despite not particularly wanting to. He and Y/N didn’t get along much, but he knew that if she deserved anything out of her relationship with George, it was a large wedding ring.
“I plan on it. Maybe I’ll take her to dinner or the London eye or something.” George shrugged.
“That’s so cliche.” Fred scrunched his nose in disgust. He hated every time his friends from Hogwarts got engaged because the story was always the same. They went to dinner, or they went to the bridge, or they even went to platform 9 ¾. Fred had convinced himself he would never get married, but if he did he decided he wouldn’t be so goddamn predictable.
“Well, what would you do?” George asked, frustrated with his brother. He always had something to say, but never anything helpful.
“Not marry her.” Fred sipped from his drink nonchalantly.
“Dude,” George huffed. Once again annoyed with his brother. Fred had always been the devil on his shoulder in regards to anything with his relationship. Don’t marry her, or don’t let her move in, always bad decisions.
“Sorry, sorry, kidding. I don’t know, do something that would surprise her. You guys almost never go out on dates anymore, she would know right away.” Fred took a sip of his drink. “Besides, she doesn’t seem like one for big gestures.” Fred, despite not particularly liking her, knew Y/N like the back of his hand. She and his brother had been dating for an entire decade. Y/N didn’t mind not going on dates with George, she didn’t mind that he worked late, she always trusted him too much, which was an issue at one point. Even Fred felt like Y/N had settled for George, and she hadn’t ever noticed it.
“Hm, maybe. I guess I’ll have to think about it.” George checked his watch, downing his drink. “I’ve got to go, I’ve got to finish some stuff at the shop and head home. Can you get my drink?” George asked. Fred nodded, waving him off as he had made eye contact with a girl across the bar. However, a thought lingered in his head. Didn’t we finish everything at the shop tonight?
-
Y/N woke up in the middle of the night to noises she had heard a thousand times before. She sighed, wondering how George always seemed to sleep through it. He snored away next to her, and she rolled her eyes. If she could sleep through his snores, then she should theoretically be able to sleep through anything. However, like clockwork, she was up in the middle of the night whenever Fred brought a girl home.
She grabbed a book and went to the kitchen. Y/N read for a while with the radio on, trying not to get annoyed by the loud noises that always came out of Fred’s room. She kept re-reading the same page over and over, not being able to comprehend what she was reading over the sounds of moans and the bedpost hitting the wall. Eventually, she set her book down, deciding to bake.
She pulled some pre-made frozen cookie dough out of the fridge, rolling it out on a cutting board. She hated using the pre-made cookie dough, but always had some in the fridge for nights like this. She was the only one in the house who knew how to cook or bake, so she always managed to play it off as though she had hand made the dough. She remembered the first time she had been left awake in the middle of the night, and George awoke to somewhat fresh cookies. He was ecstatic, and he kept raving about how delicious they were. She didn’t have it in her heart to tell him that she actually hadn’t put that much effort into the cookies. She used various cookie cutters, making fun shapes to entertain her exhausted brain in the middle of the night. She knew she could just charm the cookie cutters to do it for her, but she liked baking and cooking the muggle way, especially on nights like these. At least I can’t hear the noises anymore.
“Oh, hey,” Fred grunted, walking behind her to get to the fridge, taking out their water filter from the top shelf. He wore only his sweatpants, his usual house attire. Y/N was used to it, after all her boyfriend had a similar body. Besides, she stood in the kitchen in only underwear and an old t-shirt of George’s.
“Hi,” She mumbled, annoyed with him. “Can you please keep it down? I ask you like...every time you have a girl over.” She stuck the sheet of cookies into the oven, trying not to bend down too far, considering her attire. It was her usual house attire, but she usually wasn’t around Fred much. She had made it her personal mission to avoid him at all costs.
“Sorry I get laid more than you.” Fred mumbled. Her face and neck turned pink at his words. She hated that George and Fred told each other everything. Couldn’t anything remain private? Particularly her and George’s sex life.
“It’s not about that and you know it.” Y/N glared at him, taking the water filter out of his hand and pouring herself a glass of water. Fred held back a smirk, attempting to keep the fighting to a minimum for the night. They frequently had these late-night interactions. About a quarter of the time they were civil, half the time they were softly bickering, and another quarter of the time they ended up in screaming matches. He just couldn’t help himself sometimes. She was the girl who was taking his best friend away from him, he found it difficult to not catch an attitude with her. Besides, he always found it funny when she was angry.
“Whatever, what am I supposed to do? Tell the girl to shut up?” He sassed softly. He almost laughed at the idea. He supposed he could cover her mouth with his hand, or brief the girl that he lived with people. However, he had gotten used to his late-night encounters with his brother’s girlfriend. They rarely ever argued in front of George, so it was their only time they could argue without facing consequences.
“Yeah, that works.” Y/N grinned. She didn’t care what he did to shut the girls up, or if he stopped putting in the amount of effort he clearly puts into sex (of which she almost envied, but refused to admit), she just missed getting her regular 8 hours of sleep. “Literally do anything. I’m tired of seeing your face at three in the morning.” She softly snapped.
“Fine, whatever,” Fred swallowed his water, Y/N watching his throat move. She lowered her vision to the oven, uncomfortable with the feeling in her lower stomach as she watched the muscles in his throat move.  “Nice panties, by the way.” She rolled her eyes, knowing she was wearing underwear covered in cherries. They might have been childish, but they were comfortable. George used to like them, too. Although, she never heard many compliments from him anymore.
“Shut up,” She grunted. “At least it actually covers something.” She said, referencing the time she had been in the kitchen when one of his dates walked in for water wearing a t-shirt and her g-string. She told George the next morning, and they laughed about it. Fred turned pink, embarrassed that his date had been so bold in a house that didn’t belong to her.
“Maybe you’d get laid more if you wore panties like that.” Fred left the kitchen. Y/N’s heart sunk, remembering the times when George would say something cheeky each time he saw her fruity underwear. Now she felt childish, and tears welled in her eyes.
-
After calling Hermione and talking her into going shopping that day, they went to a few stores, and finally, Y/N arrived at a lingerie store in Diagon Alley. She saw two sets of lingerie in the window that caught her eye. One was yellow, her favorite color, and the other was black. She knew black tended to be a sexier color, but she couldn’t help herself as she asked to try on the yellow set as well.
“I’m just so tired. It happens almost every night.” Y/N complained to Hermione through the door of a change room. She clipped the bra behind her back, reaching down to grab the garter belt and stockings.
“Well, he was like that at Hogwarts, should we really be surprised?” Hermione laughed through the door. Y/N giggled too, remembering when it was almost charming that Fred was a player. Girls couldn’t even fault him when they were in school, he and George were just so handsome, it made sense that he could get almost any girl he wanted. He stayed away from very few girls: Hermione and Y/N. He knew Ron had a crush on Hermione and refused to hurt his brother. Even before Y/N had started seeing George, Fred stayed away from her. She never knew why, and when she was young she had taken it to heart. However, years later George told her he had liked her from the moment they had met, and she hoped Fred had stayed away from her to protect his twin.
“I guess not, I’m just sick of having to live with it. And George doesn’t even know it happens. I’m not even a light sleeper, it’s just that loud.” Y/N said, looking at her appearance in the yellow lace bra, and matching garter belt. She wasn’t allowed to try on the underwear for obvious hygiene reasons. She scrunched her nose, unsure of how she looked. She liked the way she looked in it, but she didn’t find it particularly sexy. George never liked yellow much anyway. She took a picture in the mirror and sent it to Hermione. “What do you think?” Y/N asked.
“Meh, I feel like it’s too cute, not sexy enough. Try the black one we picked up.” Y/N made a noise of agreement, slipping off the yellow and trading it for the black babydoll slip. She once again went to take a picture and send it to the most recent person in her phone, Hermione, not realizing a text had come through while she was changing.
“Did you get it?” She asked after a few moments of waiting for a response from Hermione.
“No, are you sure it went through?” Y/N checked her phone, gasping loudly.
“Oh my god,” She had received a text from Fred while she was changing. He had asked what she was planning on cooking for dinner, pretty much the only thing he ever texted her about. She vaguely remembers when she and George were going through a rough patch and Fred would periodically text her and check on her.
“What?” Hermione asked, immediately curious.
“I accidentally sent it to Fred. I’m going to throw up.” She tossed her phone over the top of the door at Hermione. Hermione immediately started giggling. “This is so not funny!” She shrieked.
“Oh my god, he replied and said ‘that’s more like it.’” Hermione was practically bent over in laughter at this point, meanwhile, Y/N slid down the door, her head in her hands. She felt sick at the idea of her boyfriend’s twin brother seeing her in this. She knew he was probably laughing at his desk at the shop, trying to think of a way to make fun of her later.
“Please explain that it wasn’t meant for him.” Y/N felt ready to cry from embarrassment, not wanting him to know that his words had gotten to her. It’s not the first time he had said something mean enough to make her change herself, but she had made it her mission over the past few years to not allow him to know that he got to her.
-
“Did your girlfriend tell you what happened today?” Fred laughed, his hand over his mouth at dinner. Immediately Y/N’s face and neck turned pink. Although Fred found the situation laughable, he also felt the need to tell his brother as soon as he could. He feared his brother would think he and Y/N would cheat on him. In actuality, Fred’s fear of George thinking that was far greater than George’s capacity to think that. He trusted his brother, but he trusted his girlfriend even more. Fred always resented her for that.
“What? What happened?” George asked, eyebrows furrowed.
“She was taking pictures of herself in lingerie to send to Hermione for some reason, and I guess she wasn’t paying attention and accidentally sent it to me.” Y/N’s face was in her hands in embarrassment. She was hoping this was one of the times that Fred would keep a secret between just the two of them. For one reason, she wanted the lingerie to be a surprise for George. The other reason being that she knew Fred knew he had gotten to her. She had bought ten new pairs of underwear while she was at that store. To be fair, they had a great deal going on, and she probably would’ve gotten the panties even if Fred hadn’t said anything to her.
“Aw, man, why don’t you send that shit to me?” George joked, putting his hand on Y/N’s knee. Y/N was even more embarrassed, not wanting Fred to know the details, or lack thereof, of their sex life.
“Oh my god,” Y/N’s words were muffled by her hands. “I hate you both so much.”
However, later that night the jealousy George felt came bubbling up and for the first time in weeks, Y/N got what she wanted. George occasionally liked rough sex, and this was definitely one of those occasions, considering she had accidentally used his twin to get to him. After working up quite a sweat, she went to the kitchen for water, where she found Fred with a glass of water and a book sitting at the kitchen table.
“Hah, how does it feel now?” Y/N giggled, getting the water filter out of the fridge and pouring herself a glass. She was in a lacy bralette and a pair of George’s boxers. She didn’t feel like having her panties made fun of again.
“Fine, you were right.” He rolled his eyes. He certainly didn’t like the feeling in his stomach when he heard her moans coming from their bedroom. He had felt nauseous almost all night, not liking the thought of his brother and his girlfriend having such loud sex. He couldn’t really think of a valid reason why, though.
“Oh yeah, say it again.” She cupped her ear, rubbing it in his face. The way she said it was accidentally sexual, causing Fred to smirk.
“First of all, that’s what she said,” He joked. “Second of all,” He flipped her off, but now significantly more confident, she replied.
“You wish.” She grinned, quickly finishing her water before putting the glass in the sink. This time, when her head was back drinking water, Fred watched her throat. Something in his brain wanted to wrap his hand around it, but he couldn’t tell if it was out of anger or tension. His vision drifted to her collarbones and exposed chest. He shifted in his seat, moving his line of vision back to his book.
“Keep it down next time, yeah?” He mumbled, she rolled her eyes in response, leaving the kitchen and returning to her shared bedroom where George was deep asleep.
-
Unfortunately for Y/N, she had a sex dream that night, and not one featuring her boyfriend. At first, she thought it was George, but she knew all of George’s scars and freckles, she knew his nose was more crooked than his twins, she knew his voice. So when she took notice of different scars, a deeper voice, and a straighter nose, she knew it was Fred.
It started out as one of their late-night encounters, like the one she had just had. She went to the kitchen to get water, and there was Fred in his sweatpants with no shirt. He leaned against the kitchen counter next to the fridge, arms crossed. She walked past him, getting the water filter out of the fridge. Only, when she went to drink from her glass, he took the glass out of her hand and put it on the counter gently. He turned back to her, grabbing her face with one hand, pulling her face close to his own. His other hand rested on the small of her waist.
“What, you thought I’d just forget about that picture?” He whispered, her heart beating hard in her chest. He started leaving open mouthed kisses on her neck and collar bones. “You looked so sexy,” Her head was thrown back, moaning in pleasure. “So ready for me already?” He asked, lifting her up from her thighs and turning around, placing her on the counter. He pulled her from the bottom of her thighs closer to him. He kissed her mouth, pulling on her bottom lip. He started grinding his hips right into hers. She was moaning into his mouth, her hand reaching to palm him. And then--
She was shaken awake.
“Hi,” George whispered, his face level with hers from his place on the floor. “Y/N I know it’s been a long time, and you put up with quite a lot from me. You always have, and you put up with the shop, and Fred, and so much.” George stopped himself before he brought up their past. “I just--I want you to know that I love you, I have since the first day we met, and I will forever. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
Well, fuck. A thousand thoughts flooded her head at once. Memories of the good with George: going to the Yule Ball together, going to his siblings weddings together and dancing, cuddling on weekends, first times. Bad memories with George: their rough patch, screaming matches, lying, crying, feeling more comforted by his brother who hated her than her own boyfriend. The final thought was her sex dream before--
“Well, will you?” George interrupted her thoughts, his heart faltering at the hesitation Y/N showed.
“Obviously, you big idiot.” She smiled, throwing her arms around his neck. She was shocked, to say the least. They had been dating for nearly a decade, and he finally decided to pop the question. She didn’t want to admit it, but she feared he would break up with her before he would get engaged to her. He stood from his position on one knee, picking the girl up off the ground and swinging her around. “I mean, could you have taken any longer?” She giggled.
“Oh shut up!” He chuckled, setting her down on the ground. She sat back down on the bed. He slid the ring on her finger. She stopped and stared at it, feeling...emptier than she would’ve liked to.
“When did you even have time to get this?” Y/N asked, avoiding her thoughts that betrayed a decades worth of work. She did wonder though, considering George was always with Y/N or Fred, and he certainly would not have made Fred come with to get the ring.
“Well, I usually stay later at work than Fred anyway, so I just went after work.” George shrugged, grabbing her left hand to look at the ring. “Do you like it?” He asked, clearly nervous.
“I love it, Georgie. It’s beautiful.” She smiled softly, which he returned.
“I’ll go tell Fred and call mum.” He grinned, slipping out of the room. He knew the only way to surprise you would be to literally wake you up and ask you, and he was tired of trying to think of the perfect way to ask, and the idea of waiting for some perfect time felt ridiculous, so there it was. His opportunity to ask and surprise her, and he did. He walked into the kitchen downstairs, where his brother was drinking coffee leaning against the counter.
“Good morning,” Fred grunted, clearly exhausted.
“I’m engaged, so yes. It is a good morning.” Fred’s eyes widened at his twin’s statement, quickly gulping his coffee down.
“Congrats, dude! I really thought you might never do it.” Fred said it in a joking manner, but there was a certain amount of truth to it. Even though he had bought that ring, he thought there was still a greater chance of his twin returning the ring and breaking up with Y/N than popping the question. Well, maybe he didn’t think that would happen, he just hoped it would happen.
“Oh Merlin, I get it, I took a long time.” George chuckled, rolling his eyes as he prepped the floo.
“A long time is a bit of an understatement,” Fred mumbled, thinking of the year his twin and his girlfriend spent at each other’s throats, but stayed together. Fred couldn’t help but hope this day would never come. Fred was always being jealous of when Y/N would take his brother away, and Y/N was jealous of when Fred would take her boyfriend away. Still, they managed to live under one roof in harmony, at least in harmony to George, for a long time. All they had was their late-night encounters.
“I’ve got to call mum, she’ll be ecstatic.” Fred rolled his eyes, walking out of the kitchen where the fireplace was. He regretted it when he saw Y/N in the living room, and almost turned back around to go to the kitchen.
“Good morning,” Y/N said, not looking up from the Prophet.
“Morning,” Fred sighed. “Congrats.” He added, attempting to not roll his eyes.
“Thanks. Guess you’ve got to find a wedding date.” She smirked, once again not looking up from the paper. “Also, you wouldn’t need to drink so much coffee if you would stop bringing girls over to shag every night.” She joked, knowing last night was one of the first times he hadn’t brought a girl home.
“You see, Y/N, I like the bachelor lifestyle,” He sat down in the chair across from her spot on the couch. “So I don’t have to get stuck with girls like you.” He took a sip of his coffee.
“Are you sure your lifestyle is a choice? You weren’t exactly known for being a fantastic boyfriend at Hogwarts.” She snarked back, keeping her eyes on her paper.
“Well, maybe it wouldn’t have taken George so long to ask you to marry him if you were a better girlfriend.” Puffed Fred, at this Y/N flung her paper down onto her lap.
“You and I both know I have been a great girlfriend to him, you, however, take advantage of your brother on a nearly daily basis.” She stood, tossing the paper on his lap. “Maybe you can get a girlfriend with that.” He looked down to find the personal ads of the Prophet open on his lap.
“Maybe he wouldn’t have ch--”
“Fred.” Both of their heads snapped towards the door of the kitchen, where George stood, clearly unhappy. “This is supposed to be a good day and you both are ruining it quite quickly.” George huffed, rolling his eyes at the two arguing already.
“I’m just saying--”
“Well don’t. You two are my favorite people in the world and I’d really appreciate it if you would start to get along.” George said before walking out of the living room, returning to his shared bedroom with Y/N upstairs. George knew the two didn’t get along, but he always wished they would learn to like each other. It was upsetting to him that it never happened.
“You started it.” Fred whispered.
“Yeah, but we both know you were about to make it a lot worse, Fred.” Y/N huffed, walking into the kitchen to make herself breakfast for the morning. She turned on the radio that sat at the kitchen table, listening to soft muggle music as she began cooking breakfast. Cooking and baking always made her feel better, there was something therapeutic about it. There had been times in the rough patches in her relationship with George where every surface, the floor included, would be covered in some sort of baked good. It’s one of the few times Fred knew not to bother her. After cooking pancakes, eggs, toast, sausage, and bacon, she heard the brothers yelling. She groaned, throwing her head back. Y/N opened the fridge, grabbing oranges and deciding now would be a good time to make freshly squeezed orange juice.
Meanwhile, Fred had gone up to George and Y/N’s shared room in an attempt to apologize.
“George,”
“Don’t.”
“Dude,”
“It’s just,” George sighed. “I tell you things about my relationship because you’re my best friend, but because you’ve convinced yourself she’s your enemy you hold it over her head. Stop holding my mistakes over her head.”
“I don’t mean to,”
“But you do it, and you keep doing it. I know she pisses you off sometimes but I can’t think of anything she’s done that’s even remotely as bad as the things you’ve done.” George wrung his hands in his lap, staring at them.
“I just feel like you could both do better, dude. It’s like you guys feel like you have to get married because you’ve been together for so long,”
“Don’t say that.” George cringed, eyes closing as anger boiled up again.
“Don’t you think there’s a reason it took you a decade to ask her--”
“Don’t you think that’s my business, not yours?!” George snapped.
“Fine, it’s not my business, but I’m not going to stand around and watch you two pretend to be happy together.” Fred snapped back.
“Shut the fuck up!” George went to tackle his brother.
Downstairs, Y/N looked up, hearing the noise of the two physically fighting. She rolled her eyes, remembering years ago at school when it would happen every time they argued, which was rare. Now it felt like everyone in the house fought all the time. After several minutes of yelling and crashing noises, she heard rushing footsteps on the stairs. She sighed, pouring sugar into the fresh orange juice. The two barged into the kitchen, she didn’t stop.
“Y/N.” George ordered. Her eyebrows raised, not realizing he would be angry at her.
“George.” She spoke unwaveringly, not turning around from her juice.
“You and Fred are going to find something to do together and get your shit together. No more fighting, no more hiding your hatred for each other. Fight it out, talk it out, deal with it some way. Both of you. Work together and find him a girlfriend or something.” He muttered something under his breath about Fred needing to stay out of their relationship as he barged out of the kitchen. She didn’t hear the second pair of steps leave the kitchen.
“What did you do?” She asked, slowly turning around to look at Fred. He stared at the ground sheepishly.
“Crossed a few lines.” He mumbled.
“That’s not new.” She quietly chuckled. He rolled his eyes. “Guess we’ve got to start looking at the personal ads together.”

Fireworks of the People
Rating: NC-17 | WC 2972 | S7 Fluff/Smut | AO3
Although Yellow Springs, Ohio wouldn’t have been Mulder’s first choice for a Fourth of July getaway, they’ve been to worse places and this time it wasn’t even his fault. Skinner had requested their help in a murder investigation involving a UFO cult leader and the mysterious deaths of some of their followers which had the local ME stumped. The case was surprisingly straightforward, Scully was able to identify a rare poison applied sub-dermally to the victims during contact with the Cult Leader. Mulder elicited a confession from the Cult Leader after stumbling onto his stash of poison and hit list in an obscured room. Neither of them had been shot, abducted, poisoned, or covered in goo, so a pretty good case in Mulder’s books. Still, the look of disappointment when Scully found out that the first flight home wasn’t until after the holiday tugged at Mulder’s heart. Her tight business façade dropped momentarily and he could see that she had been hoping to make whatever Fourth of July plans; but now she was stuck in Yellow Springs with him. The small town’s patriotic decorations ensured there was no way to forget that Independence Day  was happening, acting like salt on fresh wounds, a stinging reminder that they were stuck here for the holiday. Scully was quiet through dinner, not uncommon since their personal relationship was currently ‘on hiatus’, but the immutable cloud of despair that hovered over her while she picked at her salad was too much for Mulder to take. “You know Scully, we could always drive back to D.C. It’s a 10hr drive so we might get in a bit late but at least you could still make some of the holiday.” “It’s fine, Mulder. I still have a final autopsy to do anyway so that will keep me busy most of tomorrow. We’ll just fly out Wednesday morning.” “I’m sorry we’re stuck here-” “It’s not your fault… Charlie is in town, and Bill is visiting with his family too. So Mom has organized this big thing. I haven’t had a chance to see everyone in a while and I was really looking forward to it. Plus, it’s not like we can even go see the fireworks tomorrow, did you know this town does them the Saturday before!” Mulder couldn’t help but swoon over Scully’s petulant pout and felt the need to offer her a show of solidarity with feigned outrage. “What!?! No fireworks on the Fourth of July! That’s just un-American.” “That’s what I’m saying…” Feeling better having vented to Mulder, Scully gave a resigned smile, the tension between them starting to melt. With her mood improved Scully stole some of Mulder’s fries, a long established sign of a truce he mused. Chatting about the case Scully suggested that he get started on the field report while she’s working on the autopsy tomorrow. Mulder nodded in agreement, but they both knew he wasn’t going to touch their paperwork until the last possible minute. Little did she realize Mulder had started to formulate a plan to turn her holiday around.
By noon the next day Mulder received a call from Scully, bored and contemplating eating a questionable sandwich from the morgue’s vending machine. Mulder was attempting to fit a portable hibachi grill into the trunk of the rental, the interruption of his cell phone chirping caused him to pause, trying to get balanced while answering. “Mulder-” “Mulder it’s me, feel like bringing me sustenance?” “I’d love to Scully, but the town is shut down for the holiday. I just had to drop in at the Sheriff’s to make sure my statement was squared away. I guess in this town crime does take a vacation. What time will you be finished?” “Not until 3. I’m waiting on labs to get finished and then I have to finalize the report.” At that moment the top of the mini hibachi grill broke free of his hold, making a loud clanging sound, while Mulder attempted to catch it, cell phone pressed against his ear and shoulder in an awkward balancing act. … “shiiit—” “Mulder, what was that?” “Ahh… I’m just packing and knocked something over. Scully, I’ve gotta go, I’ll see you out the front at 3.” The dejected sound in Scully’s voice doubled Mulder’s resolve to surprise her, giving him a bit more pep to get everything ready in time by the afternoon. The parking lot of the morgue was deserted when Mulder arrived, a lone figure leaning against the door could be seen, obscured by the shadows of the awning. Mulder took a moment to watch Scully stretching herself and enjoying the afternoon sun. As a sign of protest of having to work during a public holiday, Scully had donned jeans and a fitted light blue top instead of her standard business attire. Mulder couldn’t help but smile when he realized they were inadvertently wearing matching outfits, his jeans and blue t-shirt felt appropriate for the day as well. With a wary smile she finally acknowledged his arrival and strolled over to her seat in the car, failing to notice or mention the grocery bags and supplies in the backseat. Slouched in her chair, leaning against the passenger window, Mulder didn’t attempt to make small talk, using her fatigue to help prolong his surprise. The drive to the lookout was uneventful, Scully falling asleep minutes into the ride prevented her from noticing that they had driven at least 20 minutes past the hotel and were making the ascent to reach their destination. Mulder quietly cursed as the road turned bumpy a few miles from the spot. “Mulder, where are we going?” Scully’s disoriented and groggy voice broke the silence and he knew the gig would soon be up. “An early dinner, Scully.” “But everything’s closed?” Scully’s spidey senses started to tingle as she became keenly aware of her surroundings, warily observing that they were driving into a wooded area. “I swear to God Mulder, if you’re dragging me out to hunt Bigfoot instead of dinner-” “Relax, we’re here.” Mulder said, pulling up to a clearing that had an outlook of the town. From the back seat of the car, Mulder pulled out the bedspread from the hotel and 3 pillows, instructing Scully to help him set up. “I don’t think the hotel will be thrilled we’re using their bedding as a picnic blanket” Scully said while repositioning the blanket. “Hotel bedding is expected to get a little dirty!” Mulder handed her a tupperware container from one of the grocery bags he’d been carrying and instructed her to eat. Wary at first, Scully’s eyes lit up when she opened the large container and discovered that it was full of fried chicken. Mulder took a break from setting up to watch Scully eagerly inspect each of the tupperware containers, her look of excitement as she opened each one reminded him of a kid opening presents on Christmas morning and he was determined to do things like this more often. “There’s so much food here! Macaroni salad, fried chicken, fresh corn, watermelon. Mulder, where did you get all this?” “Don’t fill up on the sides,” Mulder said while awkwardly carrying the mini hibachi grill to a level surface not far from their picnic spot. Walking over in time to watch Mulder light the grill, Scully couldn’t help but giggle when Mulder jumped back in shock at the large flame. “So, I don’t think we have to worry about the grill heating up,” Mulder said with a sheepish shrug. Scully gently rubbed his arm reassuringly, before it dawned on her that he had somehow gotten his hands on a functional grill. “Wait, where did you get the grill!?” “I confiscated it from the crime scene.” Scully made a face, “Mulder!” “What? It's not like it was used in the crime and I’ll return it later, but right now we need a way to cook our burgers and hot dogs.” Mulder proudly held up a large cooler, triggering Scully to laugh incredulously. “Did you steal a transport cooler from the morgue!? There were probably human organs or God knows what in that!” Mulder just shrugged while taking out hamburger patties and placing them on the grill, “I rinsed it out first..” Going back to the cooler Mulder handed Scully a beer that had been stored in there, and took one out for himself. “I’m not returning this bad boy either, I’m taking our left-overs home in it!” Scully stood close to Mulder while he grilled, feeding him forkfuls of macaroni salad. This might not have been the way she had pictured her Fourth of July, but the charm of the look out and Mulder’s surprise picnic definitely had made her day. “Bad news Scully, I didn’t think to confiscate tongs, or a spatula so let’s hope my plastic fork works.” They both held their breathe while Mulder carefully attempted to flip their patties over with two plastic forks, earning him a cheer from Scully when he succeeded.   “Alright Partner, get the buns ready, we’re almost done here!” Scully placed the buns on their plates and presented them to Mulder, ready to assemble their food. “Mulder, I can’t believe you put all this together. It’s incredible, but you’ve got to tell me how you did it.” “A magician never tells” Mulder said, handing her a plate with a burger and a hot dog. Sitting together closely on their picnic blanket bedspread, plates on lap, Scully noticed that the tension which had plagued them since their unresolved fight had dissipated. “Mulder, did you do all of this as a peace offering?” Mulder contemplated her words for a moment before replying. “Honestly, no. I am sorry I turned off the alarm that morning, but it was set for 5am, I didn’t do it on purpose and I wasn’t trying to ‘control you’, as you so eloquently said. You always take off before I wake up, so I’m willing to admit that on some level I probably wanted you to stay and at least have breakfast with me.” “Next time you want me to stay longer, use your words and ask me to stay.” Mulder nodded in agreement and was rewarded by Scully feeding him a piece of watermelon.   “I guess having breakfast with you wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, I could make more of an effort to be flexible.” Mulder’s eyebrows shot up at the word ‘flexible’, his cheeky smirk at the double entendre was silenced by a rogue piece of watermelon being shoved in his mouth by a laughing Scully. “Wait, if this wasn’t a romantic gesture, then why did you do all this?” “Regardless of whether we’re fighting or not, you’re my best friend and I hate seeing you upset. I just wanted to do something nice for you.” “Good answer”, Scully reached up to Mulder’s neck and pulled him in for a kiss. Before things could heat up, Mulder broke off their kiss, and suddenly ran towards the car- leaving a confused Scully behind. For a moment she was concerned that Mulder was about to take off on her, as he had done many times in the past. Before she could question him, Mulder had jogged back to her with his hands behind his back and a huge grin. “One more trick up my sleeve! I know you were bummed about missing out on fireworks…” Mulder proudly presented her with a brightly packaged sparkler, placing the stick in her hand and stepping back as he lit a long fuse. Scully looked at the odd sparkler skeptically, not used to seeing ones with fuses, she moved it away from her body at just the right moment- the sparkler coming to life in an explosive fury. Her scream of delight made Mulder chuckle as different color sparks went everywhere. This was not your standard sparkler. Once it finally burned out, she handed the sparkler to Mulder who doused it with some bottled water and put it on the ground next to the blanket. Wanting to know more about how Mulder put this all together in such short notice, Scully decided to try another interrogation tactic. She took his plate away, ignoring his grumbles as she placed it next to him on the blanket. The complaining stopped as Scully climbed over his body, straddling his legs and placing her arms around his neck. Instinctively Mulder placed his hands on her hips and gave a big smile gazing into her eyes.   “Hi..” Scully said, giving him her best megawatt smile and watching him melt; she had him. Scully closed the distance between them, staring into his eyes, close enough to kiss him, leaving a fraction of an inch between their faces. “Okay Mulder, now you’ve got to tell me how you did all this.” His smitten face betrayed how powerless he was to resist her. “Scully, you should work for the CIA, I’d confess anything to you right now.” She gave him a light peck on the lips and encouraged him to continue. “I knew you were upset about missing your family BBQ today so while you were slicing and dicing, I went on a scavenger hunt. As a thank you for filling out all the case paperwork for the sheriff, his wife packed up the sides and dessert for me. In exchange for helping set up their barbecue, their neighbor donated plates, buns, burgers, and hot dogs. They weren’t too thrilled that I wouldn’t eat with them, but I wanted to wait for you. I found out about this spot from one of the locals, hoarded condiment packets from the diner, and you know where I got the blanket and grill- ”   Before he could finish talking Scully planted a kiss on his lips which he enthusiastically returned. Abruptly Scully pulled back from their kiss, “wait, there’s dessert?” Mulder chuckled, “Yup, some Texas sheet cake and pie.” Mulder was amused by how excited she got over their dessert prospects, earning him another kiss, deeper and more passionate. Without any conscious thought, Mulder’s hands had automatically found their way up Scully’s T-shirt and to her breasts. His firm fondling being met with encouraging moans. Scully’s enthusiastic hips grinded rhythmically into his erection, their mouths never breaking contact. As their hands and bodies explored each other the rest of the world disappeared, and what started as just making out had quickly progressed into some fairly heavy petting. The frenzied look in Scully’s eyes as she pushed Mulder’s shoulders to the ground brought him back to reality. While the clearing was secluded, it was still a public area and he definitely should not have brought Scully to orgasm with his hands down her jeans a few moments ago. It also occurred to him that he should probably stop Scully from unzipping his pants as well. As Mulder's hands tried to slow Scully down from working on his fly, he was having trouble forming the words ‘indecent exposure’, only getting out a grunt as she put her mouth around his cock. When Scully broke to remove her jeans, his breathing slowed and he was able to sit up on his elbows and voice his concerns. “Scully, anyone could come by, we should stop.”Scully was not particularly put off by that thought, giving Mulder a grin as she moved to straddle his cock, menacingly gliding the head up and down her wet slit. “Don’t worry, the whole town is basically shut down.” Whether it was her reasonable risk assessment, or the fact that she had paused with the tip of his cock at her entrance, Mulder showed his consent by thrusting hard up into her. Their foreheads joined together tenderly as they both took a moment to adjust to the feel of him inside her. Their eye contact talked volumes as they intensely gazed at each other, so attuned to each other’s bodies, their breathing synchronized. Scully bit down on her bottom lip, a silent signal indicating that she was ready to continue, pushing his shoulders back down so she could ride him more comfortably. Their hips and thrusts joined together at an even pace, both trying to keep their moans of pleasure relatively quietly given the outdoor setting. Somehow the fact that they were both still mostly clothed added to the lewdness of what they were doing and Mulder felt himself approaching the precipice. Moving his hand from her hips to her clit, he methodically rubbed in hard circles, increasing the force of his thrusts as his hips collided with hers. Her body responded quickly with the familiar spasms of her impending orgasm bringing him over the edge at the same time. Scully collapsed against his chest exhausted and satiated, enjoying the tactile comforts of having Mulder surround her. Before they could fully come down from their lovemaking a large bang erupted out of nowhere. Instincts kicking in, Scully promptly dismounted and had her jeans on in record time, while Mulder lazily tucked himself back into his pants and zipped them up. Another bang rang out, causing Scully to freeze, while Mulder gave a chuckle motioning for her to look out onto the horizon. Scully marveled at the emergence of fireworks being set off from the town below, taking her seat next to Mulder.   “But how?” “Fireworks of the people, Scully. The neighborhoods here do their own fireworks on the fourth.” Mulder wrapped an arm around Scully, giving her access to snuggle into his side and watch the cacophony of different fireworks taking place below. “Mulder, this whole night has been truly amazing.” “I know it’s not your family, but I just wanted to do something nice for you.” “You know you’re my family too, thank you.” Mulder placed a kiss on the crown of her head and squeezed her tighter, preferring to look at Scully instead of the fireworks.

Baby Blues 18/?
Summary: After a quick visit to see Chris on set and the park, and Chris begin to feel a little paranoid.
Warnings: None.
A/N: So sorry for the wait you guys, that mini hiatus was not planned whatsoever (they never are) but this morning I woke up with a need to write something. So hopefully I can get a new chapter out for y’all soon. Thank you so much for being so patient with me, I love y’all so much.
And to the readers who sent me the requests, I see you and will be writing something for you soon!
~~~~~~
13 Weeks (and 3 Days) Old
“Guess what we’re gonna do to day.” Alex grinned at Ace while securing his carrier in the backseat of her car. He giggled and squealed, and Alex’s heart just melted as if it were the first time she heard it. She and Chris loved hearing Ace laugh and seeing his many little facial expressions. “We’re gonna go surprise Daddy at work and then we’re going to the park.”
Ace stuck one of his mitten covered hands in his mouth, no longer impressed by Alex’s baby talk. She angled the baby mirror for what felt like the fifth time, before getting into the driver’s seat, then doubled-checked her mirror to make sure she could see Ace’s mirror, and the road, clearly.
Alex would be the first one to to admit that after the squirrel incident, she hovered over Ace a little more now. She never strayed too far away from him unless Chris was in the room, and she started putting him in the bassinet for naps so she could roll him into different rooms with her. She examined the fading scars every hour upon the hour, and making sure he never went without the mittens for longer than thirty seconds. Chris made a joke about dressing Ace up as Freddy Kruger for Halloween. That did not go over well with Alex, and they ended up spending Halloween night, sullenly, handing out candy to the neighborhood kids and exchanging short responses.
Alex was both surprised and grateful that Ace stayed quiet while slipping past a few crew members and Chris, and all the way to the food tent they had set up not too far away. She could still see and hear them filming from where she was, watching Chris and his co-star go back and forth with each other until the director called cut. Seeing Chris’ stern demeanor quickly fade to his usual soft grin reminded Alex of when they first met.
He was doing press for Civil War and she was in the middle of a book tour and they crossed paths while backstage of a talk show. Chris was in ‘serious’ mode (as serious as he could be while being around Mackie and Seb that is) but his whole stance changed once he saw Alex walking by; bright smile, skin glowing and when her eyes locked with Chris’ it was hypnotizing enough to make him bump into both his co-stars.
That same smile greeted Alex and Ace “Didn’t expect to see you here.”
“We thought we’d surprise you.” Alex shifted Ace in her arms so he could see Chris “Say hi Daddy.”
“Hey kid.” Chris pulled Ace from Alex’s arms “I missed you today.” he smiled at Alex “And I missed you too.”
She giggled “You were at home like seven hours ago.”
“Seven long hours, and I’m still not done yet.” Chris spoke while making faces at Ace “Gotta do a few reshoots, so I probably won’t be home until after midnight- if I’m lucky.”
Alex simply nodded “A lot of late nights.”
Chris finally looked at her “Hey, it’s just two more weeks. Then I’m all yours, I promise.”
“I’m gonna hold you to that Evans.” Alex gave him a peck on the cheek “Also, my mom called and she wants to know where we’re spending Thanksgiving and Christmas. Specifically, when will she get to see her grandson again?”
“Yeah, my mom was wondering the same thing, she’s bribing us with Scott’s room for Ace if we wanted to stay longer.” Chris reached for the burp cloth before he continued to bounce Ace. Spit up, he quickly learned, was not easy to get out and the wardrobe department would have his head. “Is that what you want? You wanna take Uncle Scott’s room for Christmas?”
“We could do a coin toss- wait no- if we stay here for Thanksgiving, then we have to spend Christmas with my aunt, the one who always brings her cats. Dodger tried to sit on one of them last time.” Alex paused “But going on a plane with a newborn in general- the germs alone. And then the crying and tiny bathrooms.”
“Al, you’re rambling.”
“But these are perfectly good reasons to not take a newborn baby on an airplane. And Thanksgiving isn’t that far away, this is basically last minute once you think about it-”
Chris smiled at his rambling wife, and her growing list of cons “Al- Al listen, we don’t have to go anywhere. We don’t have to go to Florida and we don’t have to go to my mom’s either. We could just stay home.”
“What do you mean?”
“We have the ultimate bargaining chip.” Chris gestured to Ace, lazily resting on his shoulder
Alex cocked her head to the side “Christopher Evans, are you insinuating that we use our own son to bribe our families into coming to us for the holidays if they wanna see him?” she stood on her toes to plant a kiss on his lips “You’re brilliant, and I love you for it.”
“Chris, you’re needed back on set!” someone called out
“Of course they do.” he groaned. Ace fussed, being disturbed from his comfy spot again and placed down in the stroller. Alex gently pushed him back and forth to sooth him before he truly started crying.
“It’s almost like you’re the main character on the show or something. If you need us, we’ll be at the park around the block.”
“Two places in one day, who are you?” Chris teased then gave Alex another kiss “Be safe, please, I love you.”
“Love you too.” Alex smiled down at Ace while steering him away from the set “Are you gonna help us bribe your grandmas? Yes you are, yes you are. And then Mama gets to sleep in her own bed, and not have to worry about you catching icky airplane germs.”
“Alex!” a voice called out. Glancing around Alex spotted the familiar face strolling in her direction. “Alex Evans, I’m not sure if you remember me-”
“Malik Bates, the man with fifteen kids, how could I forget. What are the odds running into you again.”
“Believe me I’m just as surprised.” Malik grinned. A pair of fast approaching footsteps drew his attention, a little girl with multicolor hair ties and berets grabbed onto his arm and started to pull
“C’mon Uncle Malik, we’re gonna be late for the park.”
“We can’t have have now can we?” he chuckled “This is my niece, Jessie.”
Alex waved “Hi sweetie.”
“Hi.” she let go of his hand and started pulling on his pants “Please, before all the swings are gone.”
“Care to join us? Before she pants me in public.”
“Sure, I was just heading that way.”
>>>>
Chris felt like a stalker, following Alex to the park after seeing her walk off with some random guy he heard shouting out her name. But there he was, watching some guy, push his wife, who was holding their son, on a swing.
Some primal side of him wanted to march over there and pull them away from the stranger. Alex is his wife and Ace was his son, and if anyone was going to push them on a swing, it was gonna be him. However, his more reasonable side of his brain took over. Alex was allowed to have friends, and this guy- who he didn’t even know- wasn’t trying to hit on his wife or kidnap his son.
Didn’t make that tight feeling in his stomach go away though.
Chris thought of multiple ways to bring up the guy at the park for when he got home later that evening. Who was the guy? Why hadn’t Alex mentioned him before? He knew all of Alex’s friends, why didn’t he know this friend? It was simple question, no need to stress.
Alex on the other hand was completely stressed when Chris walked through the front door. Telling their families to come to them for the holidays sounded like a good idea at the time, until Alex told her mother. Now she was on the phone, listening to her mother list everything to be done before they flew up for Christmas.
“I’m gonna have to talk with Lisa, and coordinate the menu with her. I’ll talk to your brother and Dee about the sleeping arrangements, I love your brother and my grandkids, but that guest room is mine.” Renee declared “Plus having two small children in the same house as a newborn is stressful.”
“I don’t wanna single them out and have them stay somewhere else. There’s plenty of room here.” Alex assured
Chris came up behind Alex, sneaking a kiss on her cheek “And it could be good practice for us in the future.”
Alex hesitated “Ma, I gotta go- I gotta feed Ace.”
“Okay, I’ll talk to you tomorrow. We still need to go over a few things. Kiss my grandson for me, love you!”
“Love you too Ma.” Alex quickly hung up and laid back against couch
Chris looked over to Ace, sleeping soundly in the bassinet, Dodger lounging right next to it. “Did you just lie to your mother?”
“I plead the fifth.” She lifted her legs only to lay them in Chris’s lap once her sat next to her “I thought you wouldn’t be home until later?”
“Are you not happy to see me?”
“Of course I am baby.” Alex sat up a little more, reaching over to rake her nails across the back of Chris’s neck. He visibly relaxed into her touch, she quickly picked up on the worry in his eyes “You okay?”
“I need to ask you something.”
“Yeah sure.”
“You walked off with some guy earlier today, when you went to the park. Who was that I didn’t recognize him?”
“Malik? Oh, he just a friendly face I met at the store one day. Ran into him and his adorable niece, on their way to the park.”
Chris mentally kicked himself in the ass for thinking of the absolute worse, then took Alex’s hand and kissed it.
“Was that it?”
“Yeah, I guess I got a little paranoid.”
“Paranoid? What for?”
He shrugged “I thought he was gonna try to kidnap you and Ace.”
“Aw baby.” Alex giggled. She snuggled up to him, kissing his cheek “I love you, and you have nothing to worry about, Malik is not trying to kidnap me. Okay?”
“Okay.” Chris gave her a quick kiss before getting to his feet “I’m gonna heat up some leftovers. Have you eaten yet?”
“I did actually, Malik and I went to this sub place after the park and I’m still kinda full from that.”
That twisting feeling in Chris’s stomach came back, but he shook it off then went off to the kitchen. The feeling came back later on that night. He was bottle feeding Ace, Alex on the other end of the couch typing and laughing away at her phone.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing, I’m just texting Malik. He said he doesn’t wanna get beat up by Captain America for trying to kidnap his wife.” Alex showed Chris the text thread. He made note of how many times he saw ‘LOL’ and the amount of emojis in the conversation, along with the infamous log ripping GIF.
Chris half chuckled before giving his attention back to Ace.
That paranoid feeling came back full force, and brought along a little green monster with it.
Digimon Adventure (Blind Watch) - Episode 46
Took a mini hiatus there, but I’m back. This episode was low on animation quality, but enjoyable for its character moments and callbacks. The randomness of MetalEtemon was kinda hilarious and we got some Mimi/Joe bonding.
Digimon introduced: MetalEtemon, Woodmon, SaberLeomon
Notes:
-Mimi and Joe try the pacifist route and are all like “WAR HUH! WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR!?” Honestly, they have a good point. I liked the scene where Mimi pushes Ogremon into an existential crisis by asking him why he wants to defeat Leomon. If you go with the headcanon (or maybe canon?) that all the digimon are “programmed,” I guess you could say Ogremon and Leomon were programmed to fight each other. Not a lot of logic behind it, just programs doing what they’re told.
-Ogremon’s weird mouth that never closes will always bug me. His design is weird in general. He was drawn with much thicker lines than everyone else and it was really noticeable.
-MetalEtemon was funny for two reasons: 1. It’s funny to see villains fight amongst themselves in general 2. It’s funny to see a villain from another arc come back. Pinochimon’s like “hey! This is MY arc >:(” I think MetalEtemon has a stronger design than regular Etemon too. (Did they have to give him a fart attack tho? smh)
-I thought it was kind of weird when Taichi told Sora that he plans to take on the enemies himself while she whisks everyone away to safety and she’s like “good idea!” She’s okay with Taichi sacrificing himself...? Maybe he only meant smaller baddies...
-SaberLeomon looks goofy as hell, but I kinda like him. He reminds me of the legendary dogs from Pokemon
-It feels weird that we’re now seeing NPCs “grow up.” NPC evolutions are treated as final whereas the main digimon evolve back and forth. I guess the could devolve off screen for all we know...
You were very proud to announce to your closest friends and family that you've been accepted to your university's figure skating team! It was, and still is, one of your biggest accomplishments. First you got into your dream school, then your dream team, what's next, you're dream boy?
You feel your chest tighten and breathing stop as you enter your uni's ice rink, the cold sensation of the ice instantly nipping at your warm skin. It's not like you mind, you've felt it all your life, it was your favorite feeling.
The sound of skates scraping against the ice fills your ears, swarming around your body and swirling especially in your heart, the nostalgic sound of it feeling so nostalgic to you.
It was crazy how much time you spent on the ice.
"Y/n!"
They beckon you over, to which you instantly rush up to them with buzzing excitement coursing through your veins.
Just as you get right next to them, and greet them enthusiastically, a bunch of boys come out of the changing room with red and blue uniforms, laughing and chatting loudly with each other as they get onto the ice.
Just as you get right next to them, and greet them enthusiastically, a bunch of boys come out of the changing room with red and blue uniforms, laughing and chatting loudly with each other as they get onto the ice.
Woah, you think. It's the gators!
You've seen them play before, and they are really no joke. They gave the best team players, fastest skaters, and the most strategic moves. They have so many international transfers as well.
You recognize each and every one of them, every one but a certain tall, shy boy. There's a sudden rush of warmth that spreads through your face and ears, and your eyes widen as you see him skate gracefully in the ice.
"Woah, aren't they great? Y/n didn't you- oh gosh are you blushing?"
Your palms instantly fly up to cover your face, shaking your head no, "N-no! I'm just cold!"
They all know it's bullshit, you've never been so red because of the cold, and you would literally skate all night with only a t-shirt when the team was opening for players. There is no way you're just cold. He
"Whatever you say, Y/n. Come on, let's get our skates."
You give them a tight nod, picking your duffle back up into your arms. You give the hockey players one last glance, and already find the new member looking right at your direction. A squeak erupts from your throat, before you scurry off into the changing rooms quickly.
You didn't expect to be skating at the same time as the hockey players, but you guess it's how the first practice of the semester goes. Each of the coaches are at the benches, talking to each other excitedly as they talk about each of their new skaters.
You're only doing a few spins on the ice, your nerves making it somehow colder, when you catch the new guy looking at you again. You try to brush it off, but to no avail. You slip and fall.
It's alright, most of the skaters here have already done the exact same thing, some taking a fall even worse than yours. You groan and pat your lower back and butt in pain, before getting up quickly to start yet once again. It's a painful, but daily routine.
The coaches stand to call all team members, each on different sides of the rink. To your dismay, you're all the way on the other side from your teammates and coach. You quickly get up to skate to them, but the second you get up you're tumbling back down because of a weight pushing you.
"A-ah! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you..."
Your head snaps up at the unfamiliar voice, and your own voice disappears when you see the same cute new member from the hockey team.
There's an awkward moment between you two as you just stare at each other, breaths being stolen away by one another, but remaining breathless. Your heart pounds dangerously loudly in your ears, swelling in a way you've never felt before.
It feels like forever, before the boy helps you up with an apologetic pat at your lower back.
That’s all you think of for the rest of the week, in the middle of class, eating lunch, heck, when you’re late to class, his awkward smile and gleaming eyes permanent in your memories.
Your teammates tease you to no end, calling you out whenever the boy, who you’ve learned his name is Sungchan, comes within just 15 meters from you.
It’s no different for him himself, it all started when Donghyuck teased him of how red he was and how he would always glance at you that day. He was never one to believe in love at first sight, but suddenly it was his whole love life the moment he helped you up from the ice.
Fortunately for the both of you, you got to see each other without being teased out of your minds. At first, you doubted why you signed up for economy, but now you keep looking at the clock to see how far 5th period was.
Maybe coincidence, maybe fate, you don’t really care. Just the fact that you get to sit next to him in econ made your heart thump quickly.
But, even with such time, you two were still too shy to make a move. It was so obvious you wanted to, but it was like a mutual agreement that the time will come, when the time will come.
You kind of regret it though, you hate that you have to be so self conscious around him, when there are your teammates, always walking up to random dudes and asking them random shit.
You think this and curse to yourself as you open the ice rink doors, the cool wind blowing at your face for the nth time this week.
Just as you get sight of the ice, a familiar red and blue jersey flies from one side of the rink to the other, and you can’t help but wish it’s Sungchan.
It might just be fate, for your crush was there, with a hockey stick, playing around and doing all kinds of tricks with the puck.
You are once again, blow away at his skills, eyes traveling with him and observing every move he makes. It’s 8:45 pm, just 2 hours before the rink closes for the day. You thought you were the only one planning on training this evening.
You take in a deep breath, mentally preparing yourself for some awkward moments, before placing your duffle bag on the benches.
Just as you step on the ice with your skates, Sungchan turns around, and is shocked to see you on the ice with him. He instantly loses focus and topples over suddenly, causing both him and you to gasp.
“Oh my god! Are you okay?”
As your voice gets clearer and closer, the boy feels his heart start to shake, and the same feeling of when you fell on the ice fluttering within his body.
“Y-yeah! I’m fine, r-really,”
Your expressions still twist in worry, and despite your mind freaking out and not knowing what to do, you still offer him a hand.
It feels like strikes of electricity or sparks running through your body as Sungchan’s cold, gloved hand envelops yours. You tug him upward gently, your heart beating in your ears loudly like drums.
Sungchan sends you an awkward, shy smile, one that you reciprocate with just as much nervousness shading it. Despite being in an ice rink, with literally just a shirt and yoga pants, you’re burning up. You haven’t even warmed up yet.
You mutually, but silently, agree to split the ice, the right side for you, the left for Sungchan.
Youreally can’t help but sneak a few glances at him as he practices, sometimes even going as far as staring without realizing. It’s not like it’s too easy for him either, your movements are so graceful and full of effort, he can feel the hard work radiate off of you. Many times did you want to help each other when one fell, but decided not to since it’s so common for people on the ice.
At some point of the individual practice, Sungchan accidentally hits his puck all the way to your side. He internally panics, hesitating to go in your zone to take the puck. The second he’s taking a step into your side, the puck is flying back in front of him.
Alarmed, Sungchan’s head whips up, shocked and very much delighted to see you, with a bright smile on your face and sparkling eyes.
He’s stunned. How could someone so perfect, suddenly become even better?
“Bring it on, Jung!”
A smile finds itself instinctively on Sungchan’s lips, before he’s retrieving the puck again and dribbling it around. Your confidence starts to waver at his determined stare, instead a chill of excitement running through your body.
Before you know it, you’re chasing Sungchan around the ice, attempting to steal the puck from him. It’s of course, not that easy, for someone who hasn’t played since the 8th grade. Though, you still impress your crush a lot, with your speed and stamina, you could train to be a hockey player.
The silent playfulness is turned vocal, with laughs and groans whenever one falls or fails to steal the puck. You can barely pick up the pace because of how much you’ve laughed at this point, just tagging along behind Sungchan as he teasingly tells you to catch up.
At last, you have a chance to steal the puck. Without any hesitation, you skate faster, and swerve the puck your way. The way your stick clashed with Sungchan’s made him shocked, not to mention your speed and swiftness too.
Sungchan is racing after you, ready to take the puck back to his possession, but he’s too late, you’ve hit, and it goes straight into the goalpost.
With a breathy laugh, you throw your hands into the air, and throw Sungchan a big, proud grin. He only pants with a smile, and gives you a much appreciated thumbs up.
“How are you so good?” At the question your ego is nibbling on, you smirk smugly and shrug, “I used to play ice hockey a lot with my dad and cousins.”
You get the puck back from the goal, and start dribbling it around the rink with skill. Oblivious to the adoring loom Sungchan gives your way, you attempt to shoot the puck at him. He catches it with no problem, “You’re so damn cool,”
At that, you slip painfully onto your back.
You lay no mind though, sitting straight back up and staring at your crush with big, surprised eyes, “W-what?”
Sungchan only laughs, wiping his forehead with his gloved hand, “Nevermind that,” he skates towards the exit of the ice, smiling shyly down at his skates.
Now’s a good time, right?
“H-hey,” you hum back a response, knowing your words would catch in your throat if you spoke. Sungchan bites his lip shyly, “You wanna go out sometime?” A soft gasp leaves your lips.
“L-like a date?”
“I mean, y-yeah. A date,”
Unwanted fireworks go on in your body, exploding with joy and giddiness from the suggestion of a date.
You both grin like fools once the other is out of sight, replaying whatever happened over and over on repeat.
There, in the ice, minutes after being asked out by your crush, you are unaware of the bright and fun future you have with him, unaware of the black hole you call love, falling deeper and deeper for him.
The Killing Cure (Part 22)
Finally a chapter not typed on mobile lol. Though I am going to be offline for a while. I'll probably do an update for my third fic and then all of them will mostly likely be going on a mini-hiatus for a few days as I have some stuff to do IRL.
It had taken another lengthy conversation, plenty of talking in complete circles, and even more words of affirmation but Ethan eventually finds himself both relieved and disappointed to have Salvatore trailing behind them. On one hand, he doesn’t have nearly as much private time with Alcina but on the other, he has on extra hand he now has one more ally and a flask. A flask that has Rose’s name and a label reading ‘arms’. Decidedly, this is more important than spending private time with the woman who hadn’t mentioned that she had a part of Rose with her the entire time. With the woman who he is still cradling his in his arms as he makes his way over the goo. Her eyes are set straight ahead, towards the smoggy mountains they are heading for.
He knows without asking that the woman wants to stop by her castle again but this time he doesn’t pose the offer. Even if it didn’t require backtracking and extending the trip time, he harbors a silent resentment. All this time and she had the flask... All this time and she didn’t tell him… He doesn’t know why he still holds her, not when he is suspicious of her all over again.
“You are being awfully quiet, Winters.” She notes at last.
“I don’t have anything to say.”
She gives a short hum and folds her arms across her chest. “I’m not sure that you need me anymore. Perhaps I should make my way back to the castle…”
“You said that you would accompany me the whole way.” He snaps.
“I am not fond of Heisenberg and that is putting it mildly. Honestly, you’re better off speaking to the man yourself. He might turn you away if he sees me.”
“Why would he want to turn you away?” Ethan asks. “Does he know that you’re not really on our side.”
Alcina furrows her brows. “What are you talking about, Winters?” Her face twists into a scowl. “We talked about this. We had…” she casts a look back at Salvatore who is lagging rather far behind. He cringes at the breaking of his own promise to make sure that the fish man could keep up. He stops his stride.  “We had made plans for when we have a free moment.”
“But do you have other plans that I don’t know about?”
“I’d have to go back to my castle and check my date book.” She shrugs. “What is this about?”
He sets the woman down, she can cope with the remnants of the goo now. He reaches into his pack and withdraws the flask. “You have one but you haven’t given it to me.”
She nods. “It’s much safer where I left it in my castle than it is on the road. My girls know how to protect it and I’m sure that the Duke is playing his part. Is there a problem with this arrangement?”
He sputters to think of one, of a reason to justify his anger. “Why didn’t you tell me that you had one.”
“I hadn’t realized that you are significantly dumber than you look.” She shrugs. “I assumed that you knew and that, that was why you came to Castle Dimitrescu.”
“I thought that…”
“I was, what? Hiding her away? No, the bar is very low but Mother Miranda is more intelligent than you.”
Ethan flushes, “You! I...how can you say that?”
“You make it very easy. You are not a smart man, Winters. You lack common sense and eloquence. And you are a fragile thing. That is why you need Beneivento, myself, and Moreau respectively. I do not know why you require Karl he is more of a dullard than you.”
Ethan narrows his eyes. “Lets just keep walking.”
She doesn’t make a move and it takes him a moment to realize that she expects to be carried again. He shakes his head, “there’s no more slime, you can walk on your own.”
Salvatore smiles. “My turn?”
.oOo.
Alcina doesn't know if it is spite, kindness, or a need to pick up the pace but she is dissatisfied to see that it is Moreau in Ethan’s arms now. She supposes that it is easier to flee back to her castle this way and, based upon his tone and his silence, she would say that he probably wouldn’t be all too disappointed if she did. Anyways, some warmth and affection from her daughters would be wonderful after having spent hours in the damp, stuffy, and repugnantly smelling living quarters of Moreau. She can do for some lovely perfume and putting on a nice face of makeup… Perhaps that is part of the problem, perhaps she isn’t alluring enough to charm Ethan into seeing things her way…
She finds her medications and supplements and downs them as she walks. It is even less pleasant without water to help them down, but she hasn’t had a flare up in quite some time now and she wouldn’t like one to begin in the presence of Heisenberg. Heisenberg who already has enough ammo now that she is notably smaller than he.
There is less snow on the ground but that is made up for by the absolutely noxious smell of oil and gasoline that hangs heavy in the air. It is almost dizzying and they have only just reached the reached where the bridge will be.
“What the hell is this!?” Were Moreau not in his arms, Ethan might have thrown his hands up and then gripped his head in frustration.
“That, Winters, is a puzzle. And I might just tell you how to solve it if you stop bemoaning over that flask.”
“I can solve it myself.” He replies through gritted teeth. Her stomach tickles with disappointment and rejection. Apparently she has made the man angrier than she had initially assumed. Against her better judgement, Alcina inhales deeply. This is going to take a while.
More than a while she realizes, “I have some...unsavory news.”
“Unsavory news?”
“We need to go back to my castle and House Beneviento after all.”
“For what!?” This time he does throw his arms up, Moreau flinches next to him.
“Look at the puzzle.” She points. “We need all four flasks.”
Ethan rubs his face. “No fucking way. We didn’t come all this way just for…”
“When we return to my castle we can…” she grits her teeth and snarls, “ call Heisenberg.”
“Let me guess, you’re going to make me do the talking.”
“I promise you, Winters, he will take better to hearing your voice. In fact, it’s best if you tell him that you have killed me and that you have been taking refuge at Castle Dimitrescu in my vacancy.” She pauses. “And I promise that you’ll have the flask when we get home.”
He doesn’t meet her with nearly as much gratitude and enthusiasm as she had hoped. She supposes that their plans are probably good and cancelled, and right when they have the opportunity to make good on them.
CHEERS!
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sugawara Koushi x ex!reader x drunk friend atsumu word count: 1,8k words Synopsis: When everyone passed out after the wild celebration of New Year in Kenma’s apartment, you and your tipsy ex boyfriend, Sugawara, along with Daichi, Kenma, and Akaashi stayed up to take care of a broken hearted and drunk Atsumu, who just have broken up with his longtime girlfriend. As the night goes deeper, your conversations go deeper too and all of you start reminiscing about the past.
<sora’s memo> this is my first post after going on hiatus and my first for the year, this was inspired by the official art of greetings for 2021, where they they celebrated new in Kenma’s and they were watching Lev in a game show. Sorry if I’m posting vv slow, school is actually killing me but yeah I’ll try my best to post more uwu. I hope you will enjoy this imagine :3 Have a great day my loves~~ take care and stay safe sunshines <33
The new year’s eve mini celebration has come to an end, everyone is drunk and sleeping on the cushion placed in the living room besides you, Akaashi, Kenma, Daichi and your ex-boyfriend Sugawara. The five of you cleaned up the mess that your drunk friends made then you guys decided to have your chill drinking session. You guys are gathered around beside the cushion where your drunk friends are sleeping and talking about how your life has been.
“It’s been a while since I last saw Y/N” Your tipsy ex-boyfriend said which you agreed by nodding your head.
“Really? How long has it been?” Daichi asked the two of you as he sipped his drink.
“2 to 3 years I guess” you answered, trying to remember how long it has been since you and Sugawara last saw each other.
“Really? Time really did said speedrun” Daichi joked which made the five of you chuckle.
“That’s so fucking corny, Daichi” Suga commentend while he shakes his head. After his comment, everyone is silent but this silent is not the awkward one. It’s like all of you agreed silently to reminisce about the past. The memories that once happened before but will never happen again.
“Not gonna lie though, I thought you guys will end up together” your former classmate, Kenma, broke the silence. You and Suga looked up to him while Akaashi and Daichi agreed.
“That’s true, I thought I’ll be your best man in your wedding but I guess that’s not gonna happen,” Daichi said as he took another sip of his drink. His comment made you and Suga smiled painfully as you both remember each other’s promises when the two of you were still dating.
The break up is very unexpected⎯⎯ no one really thought about the two of you breaking up because for them, your relationship was perfect. The two of you are the perfect match, you being the chaotic girlfriend you are and Suga being the collective sweet boyfriend that helps to calm you down. Even though you live in Tokyo while Suga lives in Miyagi, the two of you still have the time to communicate and your faith in each other is strong. To the eyes of everyone, your relationship is the relationship that everyone would wish to have, a sweet, chill and healthy relationship. That’s why everyone was bummed out when they heard about your break up because they all assumed after you finished college, you and Suga will then tie the knot. Well, that’s what the two of you expected too but maybe that event was not meant to happen.
“Not to be rude but why did the two of you broke up?” Akaashi asked after he took a sip in his drink. You looked at the former fukurodani setter then let out a deep sigh when you recall how the last months of your relationship with Suga became toxic and unhealthy.
“Hmmm, the last months of our relationship became too toxic. We constantly fought and it became unhealthy to us. Plus, we don’t have much time for each other. Suga was a graduating student that time while I’m on my third year of college. If we have time to meet, the two of us will always end up fighting” You explained as Suga nods as a sign of agreement.
“Let’s just say that somethings are not really meant to happen even though it looks perfect to the eyes of everyone”. Suga added
“True”you immediately agreed as you chugged down your drink.
“That shit hurts” Daichi commented, everyone felt the pain on Suga’s statement. You and Suga just laugh the pain away, until now, even you and Suga have moved on already, the pain is still there.
You and Suga considered each other as a blessing in your life. The two of you were present when one of you faced the downhill of their life. For Suga, you kept him sane, when he’s doubting his capability, you are there to hype him up and remind him how great he is. Meanwhile, for you, Suga helps you to calm your chaotic ass, he gives you the greatest affection you will ever have. You became each other's anchor. That’s why it’s still painful for both of you, especially now that you both realized that the only thing you guys could do is to look back on the memories when you were together.
“Wow, that fucking really hurts, dude.” all of you shrieked when you heard the hoarse voice and look back to see a sobbing blonde boy sitting on the cushion.
“What the fuck? Why are you still awake?!” kenma asked the drunk setter of MSBY.
“Can I guys sit with you?” Atsumu ignored Kennma’s question “please” he added, letting out a sobbed. You felt bad to see him crying so you let him join the circle. Daichi stood up to help Atsumu but the blonde boy told him he’s fine. The two of them walked over to your group and took a seat.
“Are you awake for the whole time?” akaashi asked the boy and Atsumu nodded as his answer.
“Can’t sleep,” he answered.
“And you’ve been crying, as you listen to our conversation?” you asked him which he just answered with a hum. The group went silent and the only thing that could be heard was Atsumu's quiet sobs. You guys remained quiet and watched Atsumu cry.
“Can you… can you tell me how?” Atsumu sobbed and wiped the tears. “How to stop feeling this pain” he continued, the tears that he tries to wipe off seem to pour out even more. The five of you felt bad for him because he and his former girlfriend just broke up.
“Ah, fuck” he cursed feeling frustrated with the tears that doesn’t seems want to stop from faling. Nobody dares to talk, all of you just let the boy in front of you to cry his eyes out. This is the first time for all of you to see Atsumu this broken, all of you are used to the cocky and loud Atsumu.
After 6 years of being in a relationship, this is the first time that Atsumu celebrated new year without Airi, his long term girlfriend. Their relationship is really different from yours and Suga’s but you can really say that they’re happy together. Unlike yours, Atsumu and Airi’s relationship was like the opposite of the relationship you had. People didn’t expect them to last long, they assumed that after months they will eventually broke up. Their relationship is not everyone’s ideal because they thought their relationship is toxic. But little did these people know that they’re also a perfect match to each other. Atsumu and Airi bring out the best in each other and you know this because you have witnessed how they bloomed together.
“Sorry” Atsumu apologizes as he tries to collect himself. He took a couple of deep breaths as an attempt of composing himself but failed as tears started to pour out again.
“No, it’s fine”
“Yeah, cry all you want” Akaashi and Kenma assured Atsumu, also feeling bad for him.
“Say y/n and Sugawara-san, you guys had experienced this right? Mutual break-up. Can you tell me what I should do?” his question caught everyone off guard, especially you and Suga. You shared glances with Suga then took a sip in your drink before answering him.
“To be honest, I don’t know because when Suga and I broke up, I felt so fucking lost but then I just go with the flow” you answered him, now you’re literally reminiscing your break up and you remember how you felt so lost during that time.
“When we broke up, I tried to show Y/N that I’m fine because I know she will feel guilty but I know she knew I’m not really fine. I actually feel lost for months too after our break-up and just like Y/N, I just go with the flow.” Suga shared his thoughts to the boy. “Only you can answer your own question, Atsumu” he added before chugging his drink down.
You guys are silent again and only Atsumu's quiet sob can be heard. You let the boy to cry his eyes out because that’s only solution to lessen the pain.
“Fuck, I just want this pain to stop” he whined as he look up in to stop his tears from falling. He then cover his eyes with his arms and said “I’m so fucking pathetic” he chuckled dryly. You can hear the sadness in your bestfriend’s ex-boyfriend even you felt sad for him.
“You’re not pathetic, Tsumu. I know how shitty mutual break-up is” you comforted the blonde boy rubbing his back up and down. “You can’t mostly question anything, because the two of you agreed to it and all you can do is accept the fact that the both of you are not meant for each other” you added as you remember how much pain you felt before when you and Koshi decided to end your relationship. You remember how many times you cried to sleep because you miss him so much.
Atsumu just scoffed as he agreed to what you just said. It’s true, all of his questions have answers already and he also agreed to breaking up with Airi because he knows himself that it’s not the same as before.
“You know, I agreed to what Daichi-san had said earlier,” Atsumu started. “I thought you and Suga will get married then Airi and I will be there to attend your wedding.” he continued. Him being honest, he was actually disappointed when he heard the news about you and Suga breaking up.
“I even remember that Y/n and I already have the list who we should plan to invite and who would be the best man and bride’s maid of our wedding” Suga admitted which made you chuckle as you remember that conversation with Suga.
“Really? Can you share your supposed wedding plan” Akaashi said, feeling curious.
“Hmm, Y/n and I planned to have a small wedding celebration. We don’t want it to be a grand wedding. We would just invite our close family members and our close friends” Suga shared with a smile on his face.
“I didn’t expect for Y/n to want a small wedding celebration” Kenma commented.
“Well, I don’t want to ruin that special day by inviting people who aren’t even important to me” you answered back making your former classmate chuckle. Atsumu suddenly remembered when him and Airi got into that topic, he remember how he want to have grand wedding while Airi just want it to be small wedding celebration.
“Airi and I have also had a conversation like that before, the two of us already have a theme for it and even have a guest list.” Atsumu told the five of you with a smile on his face because he imagined how Airi smiled as she talks about it before.
“But I guess those plans will never happen. It will just remain as a plan.” he smile slowly disappears as he realizes that it will never happen.
“Right… it will only be part of our memory” you quietly agreed while your other friends, nodded their head and silently said “right”
“Well, then ... “ Daichi poured a whiskey on his red cup.
“cheers for the one who are here, cheers for the one who we lost, and lastly, cheers for the memories.” he continued as he raise his red cup up.
Everyone followed his action and clang their cups as they say “CHEERS~!” then chugged down their drinks.
/bonus part/
“I feel like I’m going to puke” the blonde boy said as he felt the food he ate rising up to his throat. The five of you suddenly felt panicked from what he said and some of you begin whisper shouting.
“WHAT THE FUCK ATSUMU”
“WE NEED A PLASTIC BAG NOOOOW!!!”
“GO BRING HIM TO THE BATHROOM”
If it’s not for Daichi immediately dragging Atsumu to the bathroom, he would have vomited on the living room.
THE END
Flawless (7)
Tumblr media
Con Artist AU. masterlist.
Content Warning: swearing, PTSD, violence, sex
Before we get started here, you all need to know that Flawless will be going on a mini-hiatus. This chapter is the end of my original outline, and I need to spend some time planning out the next plot arc before I write the next chapter.
(Also, shoutout to the lovely humans who translated the line in French. Y’all are the real MVPs.)
Anyway, this is it. The chapter you’ve all been waiting for. The heist. It feels so surreal to finally write it. As always, thank you for coming on this wild ride with me. ❤
*****
In the shadow of its brightly illuminated landmarks, Paris hummed to the tune of debauchery.
Paparazzi gathered around the Louvre’s glass pyramid, waiting to capture a clear picture of a celebrity guest entering the afterparty. Riley shielded her face with her clutch as she walked in, careful to remain unidentifiable in the barrage of photos. The gold buttons on her emerald jacket-dress caught the warm light emanating from the pyramid and the bright camera flashes. She was well dressed, but not enough to stand out. Tonight, Riley needed to blend in.
She ran a hand through her hair, making sure the loose curls covered her earpiece. For the sake of stealth, the team’s comms were skin color, but they were Nikki and Cage’s skin color, not Riley’s.
Riley was half-tempted to throw her comms into one of the fountains out of spite.
She was the last of the Five Eyes to arrive. They staggered their arrivals to avoid being associated with one another, as a precaution. Pulse thrumming in anticipation, Riley bounced on her toes slightly as she waited in line to check in. The Louvre security team meticulously checked each guest’s ID against the guest list; there would be no party crashers tonight.
It had been all too easy for Riley to add the Five Eyes’ cover identities to the guest list a week ago. Now, she handed the stone-faced security guard a drivers’ license bearing her face and the name “Danika Jackson.” Returning her ID with a nod, the security guard stepped aside, allowing Riley to enter the party.
Everyone is responsible for their own entrance and exit. That was her new rule. She got everyone’s names added to the guest list, but her assistance ended there. If someone ran into trouble, it was on them to bail themselves out.
Riley had learned that rule from her mentor when she first dipped her toes into the world of two-faced schemes and nimble-fingered cons, but she never truly understood it—or saw the need to enforce it—until she felt the bite of handcuffs digging into her wrists.
It was a mistake she’d never make again.
Riley strolled through the hallway bearing massive Italian paintings, slowly making her way to the room containing the most overrated painting of all time—and the rendezvous point.
The Mona Lisa room was empty aside from a blonde woman in a beaded, blood-red cocktail dress standing much too close to the glass-encased painting. Riley stood to the woman’s right and studied the painting as well. It was underwhelming.
“You’d think the most beautiful woman in art would be wearing a prettier dress,” Nikki remarked.
Riley snorted, crossing her arms. “Says the woman who just bought a four-thousand-dollar cheetah print pantsuit.”
Nikki feigned offence. “You’re just jealous because you couldn’t pull it off. Anyway, quiz time. What year did da Vinci paint the Mona Lisa?”
“1503,” Riley answered easily. “And the woman’s name is Lisa del Giocondo.” Nikki’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “What’s that look for?”
“I didn’t think you actually listen when I talk about art.”
Riley offered her friend a small smile. “I’m always listening to you.” The sound of heels clicking down the hall made them pause. When the coast was clear, Riley murmured, “Is everyone in position?”
“Yeah. Desi and Sam should be inside already, and Jill checked in a few guests in front of me.”
“How did that go?”
“Easy peasy.” Nikki glanced at Riley and softened her tone. “Are we sure Jill is ready for this?”
“We’ll find out, won’t we? Don’t forget, it was your idea to recruit her.”
Nikki turned back to the Mona Lisa. “You know, you really do suck at pep talks.”
“Oh shut up.” Riley rolled her eyes. “Are you sure you want control room duty?”
Nikki spared her a sideways glance. “I’ll do it. You did it last time.” Her second sentence hung heavy in the air, a reminder of the job gone horribly wrong. And a reminder of all the things they still hadn’t talked about.
Riley brushed it aside. They could talk after they were each forty million dollars richer.
Pulling a flash drive hidden inside an old lipstick tube out of her clutch, Riley instructed, “Plug this in, and it’ll do half the work for you.”
“Thanks.” Nikki put the tube in her own purse. “See you on the other side.”
“Don’t get caught.”
“Don’t get caught,” Nikki parroted, and Riley strode down the hall toward the party.
She followed the pulsing music and the stream of guests to a room in the far corner of the museum, passing the employee door Nikki would sneak into along the way. Crossing the threshold, she couldn’t conceal her gasp. Riley had seen plenty of opulent rooms over the years, but the Galerie d’Apollon was something else entirely. Gold moulding framed the dozens of paintings covering the walls and the arched ceiling. Display cases containing the French Crown Jewels formed a line down the middle of the rectangular room. Despite the party’s couture dress code, the bedazzled guests looked entirely underdressed compared to the grandeur of the gallery.
She only let herself be awestruck for a few seconds before getting to work, marking the exits and security cameras. Riley didn’t like how deep the gallery was in the museum—and how far she would have to walk to make a clean escape with the jewels.
She would be the one walking out with them. No one else. Riley had made that crystal clear during the team planning meeting a few days ago.
Draped in black fabric, the case containing the designer jewelry sat in the middle of the gallery. A security guard stood by it, no doubt to ward off nosey guests wanting a sneak peek.
A wave of nausea passed through her, reminding Riley that the closest thing to a substantial meal she’d eaten all day was the two pastries she ate a few hours ago. She slipped through the crowd with practiced ease, heading for the snack table. Jill was already there, gorging herself on bread and cheese. Eyes wide, the blonde froze as Riley sidled next to her, evidently thinking she was in trouble.
But Riley simply reached for a piece of bread and asked, “Which cheese is the best?”
Exhaling audibly, Jill pointed a manicured, light blue nail. “That one.” Riley tried it. Jill was right; it was delicious.
“You ready, Blondie?” Riley asked, lowering her voice. “There’s no job unless you get this right.”
Jill rolled her shoulders back, snarking, “No pressure or anything.” There was a bite to her words, one Riley noticed only came out when someone, namely her, pushed the blonde a little too far.
“Sorry,” Riley said, and she meant it. “You can do this. Don’t second-guess yourself. Commit.”
Jill merely nodded, swallowing another piece of cheese.
Riley wandered off, not wanting to stay with Jill too long. With her back to a wall, she scanned the room in search of Desi and Cage. When she didn’t see them on her first sweep, Riley furrowed her brow. Where the hell were they?
A bright laugh carried across the room—Cage. There you are, Riley thought. She spied her teammate enjoying the spotlight in the center of a group of models all cooing over Cage’s pale pink dress. It suited Cage, with its billowy sleeves and flowy skirt that hit just below her knees. Cage giggled again, putting her hand on a woman’s shoulder a little too boldly for the gesture to be casual.
Predictably, Desi wasn’t far away, staring daggers at her shameless flirt of a girlfriend.
Riley unmuted her comms. “Easy there, Des. It’s just an act.”
“Doesn’t mean I have to like it,” she snapped. Even from a distance, Riley could see Desi’s tight grip on her champagne flute.
Riley cooed, “So jealous.”
The woman wrapped a proprietary arm around Cage, clearly welcome to the blonde’s advances, and Cage beamed at her.
It was enough to push Desi over the edge. “Don’t forget whose bed you’re sleeping in tonight, Samantha,” she snarled. “And I don’t remember agreeing to share.”
Cage excused herself from the group. “My love, did it ever occur to you that I’m making you jealous on purpose? Because we both know—”
Nikki cut her off, rescuing the team from whatever filthy thing was about to come out of Cage’s mouth. “Don’t be gross, you two.” Riley stifled a laugh. She and Nikki had been subjected to many things they didn’t want to hear over the years. This would hardly faze her now.
Focus. They needed to focus.
Riley finally spotted the sharp-eyed assistant she noticed at the runway show. Always two steps behind the designer, the young woman obediently trailed him as he floated from group to group. The assistant finished her drink, setting it on the tray of a passing waiter, and strode toward the main hallway in this wing of the museum.
“I think she’s going to the bathroom,” Jill said. “Do I follow her?”
Snagging a drink of her own, Riley answered, “No. Bump into her when she comes back.” She watched Jill make her way toward the far side of the gallery, ready to intercept the assistant and steal her keys.
Everything was going to plan. Jill just had to steal the keys, and then all they had to do was hurry up and wait for the big reveal. Eight o’clock, Riley was told upon arrival. The designer would commence his speech at eight, then reveal his masterpiece to the world.
Riley checked her watch. Thirty more minutes.
She knew she’d been standing in this spot for too long already, but Riley was loath to give up the relative safety of having a wall at her back. The twinge of fear she’d felt earlier at the runway show came raging to the surface, rooting her stiletto-clad feet in place. Leaving the wall meant having people in her blind spot. No one’s going to hurt me, Riley promised herself. This is a party, not a prison.
Her legs felt like lead weights, but Riley forced herself to re-enter the crowd, one agonizing stride at a time. She made it as far as the nearest display case before she had to stop, and her eyes landed on a tiara resting in the center of the display. Countless tiny diamonds formed flowery swoops and swirls, with a handful of emeralds scattered between them, filling what would otherwise be empty spaces. In the center, the diamonds framed a large, round emerald, mimicking the shape of a flower.
It was exactly what Riley would have stolen had the Five Eyes agreed to rob the Louvre itself, rather than this party. Maybe she’d come back for it, one day.
Using the case as a pseudo-wall, Riley took a deep breath and re-scanned the room in search of Jill. Unsurprisingly, Jill was exactly where Riley had last seen her.
She kept an eye on the recruit, knowing Desi and Cage were doing the same. Riley was impressed; Jill had quickly figured out how to linger without being obvious she was waiting for something. Jill mindlessly pushed up her glasses—the only visible sign of her nerves—and the movement drew Riley’s attention.
But not to Jill.
To another blond head, far behind her. One Riley desperately hoped to never see again.
“We have a problem,” Desi said.
“I saw.”
Nikki’s ex-boyfriend stalked into the gallery, a taller, older man at his heels like a shadow—the same men who chased Riley, Nikki, and Jill through the taco shop a few weeks ago.
Fuck.
Ducking her head to avoid being spotted, Riley hissed, “Nik, get your ass to the control room and lock the door behind you. We’ve got company.”
“Already here. Accessing system controls as we speak. Whoever designed the security system in this place should be fired, because this is ridiculously simple. I should’ve left it in French just to keep it interesting.” A pause. "Who's here? Wait. No. Let me guess. Interpol? The mob? That bitchy designer I once robbed point-blank?"
"Your ex."
"Oh."
"You didn't tell him about our dream job, did you?" The words came out a little too accusatory, but Riley didn't care. She needed to know.
"No! Of course I didn't. He— Look, I don't know why he's here, and we can figure that out later. Right now, you need to keep him busy. He's smart, Riles. Maybe even smarter than you. Be careful."
Riley scoffed. "Smarter than me? We'll see about that."
"I'm serious, Riley."
But Riley ignored her, instead giving instructions of her own. "Cage, you watch Jill. Des—"
"I've got the big one." Classic Desi, never letting her finish a sentence and yet always knowing what she was going to say. The habit was obnoxious at first, but over time Riley learned to appreciate it. "See the bulge on his left side? He keeps touching it." Desi said. "He's armed."
“He’s what?” Jill exclaimed.
Chuckling, Desi said, “Now look at my left side. We match.” A small, terrified squeak was the only response. “Well, what did you think I meant when I told you I’m the team’s exfil specialist?”
“Not that!”
“And Nik’s ex?” Riley asked, redirecting the conversation.
“Seems clean.”
“He is,” Nikki confirmed. “Mac hates guns.”
“You know,” Riley said, studying the larger of the two men, “The other one kind of looks like a guy who dated my mom once.”
“Really?” Desi asked. “Think he’s the same guy?”
Riley took a closer look. He was tall, with broad, muscled shoulders and a buzzed haircut, and considering how often he fidgeted with his tie, he didn’t get dressed up often. He smiled at a passing waitress. He had an open, friendly smile, which totally contrasted with the systematic way he scanned the room. “Nah.”
Jill squawked, “Wait! Are we really still going through with this? Didn’t it just get a whole lot harder?”
“You say harder, I say more fun,” Cage said. “Just stick to the plan. You’ll be fine.”
Jill, it seemed, wasn’t so easily reassured. “Am I the only one who sees this is a trap?”
“It’s only a trap when you don’t know about it. When you do, it’s a challenge,” Riley said.
“But what if the plan goes wrong? Then what?”
At the same time, all four women answered, “Improvise.”
Riley muted her comms as she approached Nikki’s ex; Jill didn’t need the added distraction. Help her, Riley pleaded with the universe. You owe me.
Pushing her concerns about Jill to the back of her mind, Riley studied her target. There was a champagne flute in the spy’s hand, but he didn’t drink it—not even a sip—and his methodical gaze swept the room, no doubt making note of each guest and who they interacted with.
He was cute, she had to admit. Definitely Nikki’s type.
Purposefully not watching where she was going, Riley collided with him, narrowly avoiding sloshing his drink onto her shoes. She pretended to stumble, and his free hand caught her waist, ensuring Riley stayed upright. “Oh! I’m so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going. Pardon me.”
His hand left her side. Frowning, he asked, “Do I know you?”
Don’t lie. Evade. Her former mentor taught her that.
Riley smirked. “I bet you use that line on every beautiful woman you stumble into.”
“Only when I’m too blown away to say something original.” He winked.
Maybe this would be easier than Riley anticipated. “Care to wander the museum with me while you practice your next line?”
“Normally I would, but I just got out of a relationship, and I’m not looking to start anything new.”
So much for that plan.
His honesty, however, was surprising.
“Not even a little fun?” she goaded, but Nikki’s ex declined once more before excusing himself and vanishing into the crowd.
At least Desi had better luck keeping the other spy occupied. She had him cornered, her body carefully angled to prevent him from seeing the slight bulge from the gun hidden in her dress. The plunging neckline had two purposes—easy access to the gun holstered at her side while providing a distracting view of her chest and intricate tattoos. It was just enough to snag wandering eyes and keep them focused on the front of her body, rather than the side. To the spy’s credit, his eyes remained pointedly fixed on Desi’s face.
“Got the keys,” Jill announced. Perfect timing.
Riley breathed a sigh of relief. “Good work, Blondie.”
Now, all they had to do was wait.
*****
While the designer yammered some pretentious bullshit about fine jewelry as the centerpiece of fashion and art, Riley slowly pushed her way to the front of the crowd gathering for the reveal. A few feet away, Cage did the same. Across from them—closest to the still-covered jewelry display case—Desi and Jill took their places. None of them were particularly interested by the designer’s speech, but Nikki would be hanging on every word if she were here.
The designer rambled on, explaining how particular pieces among the French Crown Jewels influenced the designs of his own work. It was awfully arrogant, Riley thought, comparing his own work to such timeless pieces. The longer he spoke, the more Riley disliked him and didn’t feel even an ounce of guilt for robbing him.
Lingering on the edge of the crowd, Nikki’s ex and his partner seemed content to remain out of the way. For all Riley cared, they could stay there all night.
The gallery lights flickered once. A few guests glanced up nervously, but the majority remained transfixed on the designer.
Nikki’s voice crackled through the comms. “Everyone ready? Nod once if you are.” Riley nodded. One by one, so did everyone else. “Alrighty then. Lights out in five…”
Riley counted the number of paces between her and Cage—six.
“Four…”
Paces from Cage to the jewelry case—eight.
“Three…”
Paces from the case back to her original position—ten.
Two…
Closing her eyes, Riley waited.
“One.”
Several women shrieked when the lights went out.
Riley opened her eyes, and before they’d even adjusted to the dark, she strode toward Cage. Six steps. She collided with Cage, dropping her purse on the ground and taking Cage’s identical one, containing replicas of the necklace and earrings.
Cage shouted that someone stole her purse, causing a scene. She’d chatted and flirted with enough people throughout the night for her voice to be easily recognized, and a murmur broke out among the agitated crowd, creating just enough background noise to cover the sound of Riley’s heels clicking on the floor.
Eight steps to the back side of the jewelry display. Riley could just make out Jill and Desi unlocking the case with the assistant’s keys. She braced for an alarm to sound, but there was nothing. Atta girl, Nikki.
Riley opened the purse. Carefully, Desi replaced the real jewels with the fakes, depositing the real ones inside Cage’s purse.
Jill locked the case and replaced the cover, and Riley returned to her original position among the crowd. The designer and his assistant remained oblivious to what transpired behind them, even as Jill slipped the keys back into the assistant’s dress pocket.
“Lights on in three,” Nikki warned.
Emergency lights flickered on, casting a harsh white light over the murmuring crowd. A man angrily questioned what happened, followed by a chorus of “Yeah, what he said!”s in a variety of languages. The assistant urged the crowd to remain calm, promising everything would be sorted out shortly.
Riley looked over her shoulder, searching for Nikki’s ex. He was nowhere to be found. She narrowed her eyes, but with two hundred million dollars worth of jewelry in her hand, Riley decided she didn’t particularly care.
The woman Cage flirted with the longest stepped forward, picking up the purse Riley had tossed near Cage’s feet. “Isn’t this your purse?” she asked Cage.
Riley’s teammate feigned embarrassment, gracefully reclaiming the purse. “Yes, that’s it. Thank you.”
Just as an outraged Cage exclaimed the purse was empty, Riley melted into the dispersing crowd, slowly making her way toward the museum’s exit. That was the plan. She’d leave first, and once she escaped with the jewels, everyone else would exit as well.
Riley retraced her steps, heels clicking on the hardwood flooring of the museum’s endless long hallways. She didn’t look at any of the art as she passed, not even a single glance. Art had always been more Nikki’s thing than hers.
Weaving her way back to the exit, Riley prayed Nikki hadn’t missed any of the cameras. She was supposed to loop them all, allowing Riley to leave the museum unseen. But with each additional camera—some obvious, some not—Riley’s anxiety rose.
Nikki knows what she’s doing, Riley reminded herself. She won’t let anything happen to me.
Two years ago, that reassurance would’ve been enough.
Now, her distrusting brain shot back, Are you sure?
Riley didn’t dignify it with a response.
Passing the museum’s security checkpoint, Riley smiled at a bored-looking security guard. “Vous partez déjà?” he asked.
Riley hoped the security guard asked why she was leaving so soon. She never did get around to brushing up on her French. “Oui, I have a flight to catch.” Not a lie, although the flight wouldn’t take off until early tomorrow morning.
The crisp night breeze prickled Riley’s bare skin. She took a deep breath, letting the cold air fill her lungs. For the first time that night, Riley finally felt her body start to relax. The vast, empty plaza felt so much safer than the packed gallery. Still not safe enough to let her guard down, but safer. Riley slipped her hand into the purse, fingers closing around an earring. It was surprisingly heavy in her palm.
Another flawless job. The Five Eyes were back in business.
She was halfway across the plaza when Nikki started cursing, but Riley didn’t slow. Everyone is responsible for their own exit. The job was done. No turning back now.
There was a distinct male voice in the background, but Riley couldn’t make out what he said.
“What do you mean, ‘I had a feeling you’d be here’?” Nikki demanded. “We haven’t spoken in months, Mac, and I know you didn’t track me here on your own.”
Her ex’s voice was nothing more than a low, indiscernible rumble.
“What?” Nikki whispered, her voice breaking mid-word.
As much as Riley wanted to know what he said, she kept walking. But that didn’t stop the others from hissing Nikki’s name, demanding to know what was going on.
Nikki yelped, and then the male voice purred, loud and clear, “I know you’re listening, Riley. Why don’t we go on that little walk now?”
With a cold laugh, Riley said, “In your fucking dreams.” How did he know her name? As far as she knew, Nikki never mentioned her.
Still, she kept walking. Everyone is responsible for their own exit. No matter what.
Riley muted her comms, and Nikki’s piercing shriek filled her ear. A muffled grunt followed.
Then nothing.
Please be okay. Please be okay. Please be okay.
“Riley, you need to come back,” Jill pleaded. “Nikki needs help.”
She didn’t answer, clenching her jaw with the effort to keep silent. An airplane flew overhead, and Riley tracked its path across the sky. Every step brought Riley closer to her own flight home—and the freedom that entailed. Turning around now would only put that in jeopardy.
But every step also took her away from her best friend. The woman she once believed she’d do anything for.
Jill was overreacting, Riley reasoned. Nikki was more than capable of getting herself out of a bind. Riley lost track of the number of impossible situations she and Nikki had found themselves in over the years, and they always found a way to escape.
“Sam is getting Jill out,” Desi said, slightly out of breath. “Riles, I don’t think I can get Nikki out on my own. Jill is right. You need to come back.”
Riley faltered. If Desi thought there was a problem, then something must’ve gone really, really wrong.
Maybe Jill wasn’t overreacting after all.
“Des—” Cage started. “They opened the case.”
“So?”
“They know the jewels are fake. If Riley comes back, it won’t just be Nikki going to prison.”
Prison.
Riley didn’t think she was breathing. Heart thudding wildly, her stomach tied itself into knots, and her clothes became damp with sweat. The sense of safety she’d felt earlier was gone, and Riley fought the urge to run. Every little noise—traffic, pedestrian chatter, a siren in the distance—was coming for her, ready to drag her into some dark hole she’d never emerge from.
Nothing was logical anymore, like the part of her brain capable of rational thought had gone to sleep. She squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head, trying to wake up, but it was no use.
Run, while you still have the chance, her body screamed.
Everyone is responsible for their own exit, her brain repeated.
She needed to turn around. Nikki couldn’t go to prison.
Two years ago, Riley had gone to prison in Nikki’s stead. She let herself be arrested to protect her friends. Her family.
If Nikki went to prison now, then Riley’s sacrifice would be in vain.
But Riley’s body refused to turn around. Her worst memories from prison flashed before her eyes—ones Riley desperately wanted to forget—like a cougar crouching in the shadows, waiting for the exact moment she was at her weakest to pounce.
She couldn’t go back there. She couldn’t go through that again.
She wouldn’t survive it twice.
“Riles,” Nikki pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. “Where are you?”
Run, that voice in her head said. Don’t look back.
Her steps were slower now, less sure. But Riley didn’t stop. She couldn’t.
“I need you.”
Save yourself, girl.
“I’m sorry,” Riley whispered, but her comms were still muted. With a shaking hand, Riley unmuted them one last time.
It’s better this way, the voice promised. You’ll see.
It was all too easy to slip into the brutal, emotionless persona she’d built while in prison, the process having become instinct. It was necessary then, to keep her safe and alive. Now, it did the same, preventing Riley from making a mistake every cell in her body knew she wouldn’t come back from.
In a cold, unflinching voice, Riley said, “Everyone is responsible for their own exit.”
She threw her earpiece into a nearby fountain, and the click of her stilettos echoed in the night.
4x08 Recap
Y’all I’m so confused like what did I just watch. I have so many mixed emotions on this episode so much whiplash. Apologies in advance this got really long. Let’s start from the top shall we...
1. Rio threatens Beth’s family if she doesn’t come up with a fall guy for her deal with the SS. Like was this a for real threat because we all know his threats to her pretty much empty.
2. Rio’s backstory in my opinion was POINTLESS. The only things that were confirmed is that his name is actually Rio (no last name still), where he got some of his colorful sayings from, the money he got growing up from his criminal acts he spent it on his grandmother who basically raised him, and that Nick is a bitch lol.
3. No explanation on the “Phoenix” it was on his jacket and then he goes to jail and comes back with a throat tatt.
4. Nick is a freaking creep bringing Beth her cardigan. This got me thinking why would he have it did Rio not see it when he found the wire in the last episode? Why would you take it upon yourself to confront your bro/cousin’s girl about their relationship and then flirt with her?
5. Dean is and will always be a USELESS loser. He couldn’t even handle a mini spat between Emma and Danny without calling for Beth’s help. He’s literally the fifth child.
6. Why is the hot tub still in the living room? Like this makes no sense when you have a big ass background. I’m chucking this up to the laziness of the prop stylists on set to move the hot tub.
7. I enjoyed the strip club montage with the girls spending money on the most clothed strippers while eating from a seafood buffet and drinking mimosas and tequila shots. I feel like this scene has been done in a fic somewhere lol.
8. Gene trying to recruit Annie to audition for the club I found oddly amusing in their banter about gymnastics.
9. Gene is the worse criminal. His montage of spilling his guts to the SS was hilarious. I got confused on which criminal he was describing with the bonor pills and fentanyl.
10. Phoebe’s obsession with this fake friendship she has with Beth is starting to creep me out. It’s giving me “Single White Female” vibes. Next she’s going to be stuffing her bra with tissues to get her chest since Dave commented on her small bag brigade.
11. Literally in a state of confusion over the gardening scene with Nick and Beth. I’ll have to go back and rewatch this several times because I had no idea what they were talking about. Also like dude can you stop calling her “Elizabeth” the lady asked you once and you still do it. You’re about as smooth as an ocean during a tsunami.
Tumblr media
12. THE PICNIC SCENE + HIS ARREST BROKE ME!! HOW DARE JENNA AND BILL DO THIS TO US. DID YOU SEE THE UTTER DISGUST AND BETRAYAL ON HIS FACE AS HE WAS BEING HANDCUFFED? THAT WILL BE ON CONSTANT REPEAT IN MY MIND. SOMEONE NEEDS TO WRITE AN ANGSTY FIC USING THIS LOOK.
13. I’m still broken over the arrest scene.
14. Another Nick is a bitch point with getting his cousin arrested for the credit card theft. I thought blood was thicker than water. You snake. Rio’s first rotten egg.
15. Rio walking out of the police station like a model was so HOT. He looked so good in that escalade with Nick. Our poor boy was heartbroken knowing that he would have no choice to kill his wife.
16. I was actually scared for 0.02 seconds when Rio appeared in the chair but I forgot “you don’t kill something you love.” Dean was good for something with that one liner.
17. “You just didn’t choose ME.” I mean WOW. I felt that when he said it. He's so happy to attempt once again to enter into a crime marriage with her. I could see Mick now like “dude what level of betrayal can this broad do before you don’t get a boner for her?”
18. We didn’t see how the real brotherhood started with Mick and Rio like damn wtf.
19. All in All I'm confused on how I really feel but I liked the episode I guess.
20. I can’t believe we only got one sexy Brio moment in this first half of the Spring season before we go on a month hiatus for the back half of the season. They better makeup and I mean Beth better show up for Rio in a BIG way to show that she is for once all in.
Mini fic because hiatus, and I realized that, like with Chloe, is extremelly suspicious that Kagami hasn’t interacted with Lila at all, especially after:
Oni-chan (Lila sends Kagami a picture of her kissing Adrien)
Ladybug (Lila is now a model, and has at least one photoshot with Adrien, Kagami should be pissed off)
Desperada (Kagami hangs out with the class. Especially if we also count the instagram posts, she is on friendly terms at least with the girl squad and with Nino)
Felix (Kagami is on a “conference call” with the rest of the class on Alya’s tablet. Granted, it could be that Marinette added her, and it was for Adrien, but still shows that the others consider her a friend, at least on the same level as Chloe)
And now even more since they are supposedly an official couple... but I bet there won’t be any conflict on their end. Let’s be real, Kagami would destroy Lila in 10 seconds flat.
SO!
“Uhg” sighed Alya after ending the call. “Marinette won’t come”
The class had organized another picnic, and invited others to it too. So far, only Alya, Nino, Rose, Alix, Marc and surprisingly, Kagami, had arrived.
“Aww, I was hoping to catch up with her” said Marc, who, as an ‘outsider’ to the class, wasn’t able to hang out with his friend as much as the others.
“Is she ok? I thought she was up to this activity” replied Kagami. Alya made a face.
“Yeah… well… She was up to it until I told her that Lila would be here too”
“Who’s Lila?” asked Marc. Now it was Kagami’s turn to make a face.
“Oh, she’s a new student. Well, not so new anymore” Rose giggled. “But Marinette doesn’t seem to like her that much”
“Yeah, it seems like she’s jealous because she is close with Adrien.”
“That can’t be true.”
Everyone looked at Kagami as if she had grown a second head.
“What? You just saw it. Marinette is not coming because she’s jealous of Lila”
“I am very aware of Marinette’s feelings. I AM Adrien’s girlfriend, and guess what? We’re still friends. It makes ZERO sense that she would be jealous of someone just because that someone harasses Adrien on the regular.”
Everyone gasped at Kagami’s words. They knew she was a bit blunt, but didn’t think she was that rude.
“How can you say something like that?” Lila had just arrived, and was already putting on the waterworks. “It’s so mean to talk about someone when that person is not present!” she sniffled.
Kagami and Marc looked at each other. Kagami nodded.
“Yes, you’re right, and for that I apologize.” Alya and the rest smiled. “So now I’ll talk to your face, as it is only appropriate. So, you are the girl who keeps harassing my boyfriend? The appropriate thing would be saying ‘it’s a pleasure’ but I don’t like lying.”
Everyone gasped again. Kagami rolled her eyes, as did Marc.
“Kagami! You don’t have to be so rude!”
“I mean, she’s just stating the obvious. I’m not in your class and even I got that picture of Lila forcibly kissing Adrien’s cheek.”
“That… that means nothing! I have no feelings for Adrien whatsoever. You’re just like Marinette” Lila sobbed. Everyone glared at Kagami. She didn’t even flinch.
“Ha! I wish.” She looked directly at Lila, who avoided her gaze. She ignored the other’s glares of disapproval. “Like I said, I AM Adrien’s girlfriend, and Marinette is on friendly terms with me. If she’s uncomfortable being around you, there must be a reason for that.”
Everyone looked at each other. Unsure of how to proceed. Lila kept sobbing. Kagami’s gaze didn’t faltered. “I like you guys, but I like Marinette a lot more, and if she doesn’t like this girl, then I trust her judgement. I think I rather hang out with her.” And with that, Kagami turned around.
“Yeah, same” Marc said, following Kagami.
Sisters N Time Chap. 5-Dead Bird Studios
Well, I got another story back from the dead.
I’ve been in the mood lately working on my stories I put on hold thanks to A Royal Problem and a couple of my other stories. I guess my mini hiatus caused me to just go back into working on these left behind fanfics for a while before going back to my other fanfics. Don’t worry I’ll work on those soon!
Anyways enjoy!!
It’s been two days and so far Hat Kid or Mu haven’t killed each other yet. Hat Kid finally cleaned up Mafia Town’s mess and the rest of the day was hanging out with Molly. The younger mustached girl enjoyed Hat Kid’s company and was glad to learn how to play video games with her.
Mu on the other hand was getting jealous every time Molly went to Hat Kid then her. Though a part of her, like 25%, was happy Molly had a friend and was having fun. Being in a cave for almost a year and not having anyone aside from your sister could be lonely.
Speaking of Mu and Molly they were asleep on the pillow pile with a colorful patterned blanket over them. From the two of them, Molly was the first to wake up. She let out a yawn and looked around the room. Her older sister and Hat Kid were still asleep, making her the first one to get up.
Molly decided she could get something to drink before everyone else woke up for breakfast. Slowly, and quietly she left Hat Kid’s room and made her way to the kitchen. However, she stopped when she saw the door across from Hat Kid’s room blinking. She was confused at first and decided her drink could wait. Molly went to the door and put her hand on it, which caused the door to let out a “ping” sound and open, causing Molly to fall.
The younger mustached girl rubbed her head and looked up to see another room, the Machine Room, had opened thanks to enough power from the Time Pieces. Molly’s eyes widened as she looked around the room. The Machine room included another view of the planet and another door. There was also a balcony where a telescope was, probably to transport to another part of the planet.
“Wow!” Molly said in amazement. She decided now was a good time to leave and get her drink before anyone else woke up and saw her here.
“What are you doing?” Mu asked.
Molly squeaked in fear and slowly turned to see her big sister awake. “H-hi sissy.” She nervously said.
Mu asked again. “What are you doing here?”
“I went to get a cup of water, but I saw the door blinking and decided to check it out.” Molly explained.
Mu took a glance around the room and saw it was nothing but machines inside. “Doesn’t seem too interesting.” She commented. “Let’s just get your drink and head back to bed.”
Molly sighed and nodded. She was right, not much to look into right now. Besides, she didn’t want to transport to another part of the planet by herself.
Mu got Molly her drink, and the latter finished in one gulp and headed back to sleep. However, Molly couldn’t sleep; she knew a new open door meant a new adventure. Meaning new Time Pieces to help find for Hat Kid.
Though she couldn’t say it out loud.
A tad bit later, Molly woke up and realized she’d fallen asleep at some point. She saw Hat Kid and Mu had woken up at some point. Quickly, Molly got up and made a beeline for the kitchen. Mu and Hat Kid were just finishing breakfast.
Hat Kid and Mu turned towards the young girl seeing she was awake. “Good morning Molly.” Hat Kid beamed.
“Morning.” Molly beamed in reply. She went to sit down with her older sister, who was slowly eating her breakfast. It seemed that scrambled eggs and toast were on the menu this morning. Hat Kid then gave Molly her plate of breakfast, and it made the latter’s mouth water. “Thank you.” She said before chowing down on her breakfast.
Hat Kid smiled seeing Molly enjoying the breakfast. “When you and Mu are done, we’re off to a new part of the planet.” She told her.
Molly swallowed her breakfast and replied, “You mean the glowing door?” She asked.
This caused Hat Kid’s eyes to widen. “How did you know?”
The younger mustached girl chuckled nervously and told Hat Kid she stumbled upon the door last night when went to get a glass of water. Hat Kid smiled and ruffled the young child’s head.
“Well, let me just set up the telescope and once you get through eating we can go.” Hat Kid told her. Molly nodded and ate her breakfast. Mu rolled her eyes as she finished her breakfast and put it in the sink. She then sat back down and waited for Molly to finish up before catching up with Hat Kid.
Once Molly got done with breakfast, she and Mu went to the Machine Room and saw Hat Kid get the telescope ready for them to teleport to the other side of the planet. Hat Kid turned and saw Mu and Molly were ready to go. “You two ready?” Hat Kid asked.
“I’m ready!” Molly cheered. Mu sighed, but she was ready to go. Hopefully, she can find the Time Piece first before Hat Kid. The sisters made it up the ramp and stood next to Hat Kid as she got the telescope ready and soon enough they teleported to this new part of the planet.
Dead Bird Studios
Once the three girls landed they saw what appeared to be a movie studio. They went inside the lobby, and Molly’s eyes widened seeing all the movie posters. She laughed in glee, never being inside a movie studio before. However, that enjoyment inside the movie studio faded, as two birds were having an argument.
The two birds in question were a penguin with an afro and a very fluffy yellow bird in a conductor's uniform. What the two bird director’s had behind them was a bunch of Time Pieces placed in karts. Seeing the Time Pieces brought stars to Hat Kid and Mu’s eyes, but for different reasons.
“This movie studio is too big for the both of us, DJ Grooves!” Conductor shouted. “The movie should be made by REAL birds!”
Hat Kid, Mu and Molly’s eyes widened at the bird director as he started to shout at the other director, DJ Grooves. After hearing some shouting from the Conductor it was the other director, DJ Groves turn to argue.
“Conductor, darling,” DJ Grooves started. “This year, we’ll be winning the annual bird movie award, as our new movie props will bring in the audience!” He explained as he showed the Conductor the Time Piece.
Hat Kid was sweating that DJ Grooves will drop it and will find out the true source of its power. Then it will be the entire Mu situation all over again.
Conductor gasped, “Well, this time around we’re ALSO spicing it up with our movie props!” He shouted back. “And ours fell from the sky!” He then showed off he too also had the Time Pieces.
Then the two directors went silent before they realized they both had the Time Pieces to use for their movie props. “WHADDA WHAT?!” They both shouted, causing everyone to turn to face them. Even though they’ve been arguing for probably forever now.
“You no good dirty peck necks! You copied our props!” Conductor shouted.
DJ Grooves gasped, feeling offended. “I would never darling!” He shouted back. “Clearly, you’re the one who took inspiration from my flashy new props.” The two bird directors constantly argued back and forth causing Hat Kid and the mustached sisters to back away from them.
“Geez these two argue like two girls I know.” Molly commented.
Hat Kid and Mu eyes widened knowing Molly was talking about them. “Hey! We don’t argue like that!” Hat Kid and Mu shouted at the same time. The two girls looked up and glared, “Stop copying me! Me? You’re copying me!” Soon enough it became an argument with the bird directors and the girls.
Soon the Conductor was the one who ended the argument. “Get outta here with ye, I’ve got a movie to record!” He shouted before turning away and marching to his side of the building.
“Fine by me.” DJ Grooves replied. “But, we’ll be the ones to win the annual bird movie award, mark my word!” He shouted as he marched to his side of the building. Once the bird directors were gone, Hat Kid and the mustache sisters decided now was best to get the Time Pieces, but Conductor came out, snickering.
The Conductor and his Express Owl buddies decided to block the door to DJ Grooves side of the studio with plywood. “Let’s see how well ye do when you can’t get past reception.” He said before giving an evil laugh. The Conductor then turned to face the receptionist. “Oh receptionist, can yer PLEASE close the vent already?” He asked. “I don’t want the smell of penguins near my crew.” The Conductor then left for his part of the studio.
Once the bird directors were gone, Hat Kid, Mu and Molly were able to group together and come up with a plan to get back the Time Pieces. “Okay, so we got two bird directors, each with the Time Pieces. Now, who wants the peck neck fluff bird and who wants the DJ Grooves director?” Hat Kid asked.
“I want the DJ penguin!” Molly spoke up.
Mu turned towards her sister, shocked at who she picked. “Seriously?” Mu asked. “I thought you’d pick the Conductor bird.” She paused and looked up at the Conductor's posters, “His movies look cool!”
“Yeah, but DJ Grooves movies look fun!”
Mu rolled her eyes and gave a sigh. “Alright I guess we’ll go to the Moon Penguin side.”
Molly gave a giggle as she went over to give her big sister a hug. Hat Kid smiled and told the sisters where she was going. “Guess that leaves me with that Conductor director then.” Then Hat Kid gave the girls a confident smile. “Alright, let’s split up, meet back here, and then teleport back to my ship.” She explained.
“Sounds like a plan!” Molly agreed.
“Great! Well I’m off!” Hat Kid yelled as she went through the vents that lead to the Conductors quarters of the studio leaving Mu and Molly to work together to get the Time Pieces from DJ Grooves. However, the mustached sisters realized the door leading to DJ Grooves was blocked.
Molly looked up and saw the way to get to DJ Grooves and tried to jump up to the vents. Surprisingly, due to her small height she was able to hang on the edge of the vents. She struggled to get up till she felt her sister pushing her up the vent. Molly looked down from the vent and saw Mu jumping up to get in too. The younger mustached girl scooted back so her older sister would be able to jump and get inside the vent too.
Mu finally got into the vent as Molly helped pull her up and the two sisters started to go through the vents that led up to DJ Groove's side of the studio.
Once making it through the vents each team of girls were now exploring their respective director’s part of the studio. However, it wasn’t going to be easy as the Moon Penguins and Express Owls were keeping watch to make sure one or the other wasn’t going to sabotage their respective director’s work.
Hat Kid was able to make it to the Conductor's side of the studio with no problem. However, Mu and Molly were in a bit of trouble.
The Moon Penguins were really strict about protecting DJ Grooves and they were protecting his back making sure no one snuck up behind them. Mu tried using her tactics she used when sneaking up on the Mafia, but the Moon Penguins were way different than the dumbs Mafia and were smart hearing Mu trying to sneak past them.
“Got any ideas, little sister?” Mu asked looking at Molly who was standing around watching her sister get caught.
Molly then got up and started to go through all the platforms. She waited for the Moon Penguins to turn away from her and soon she walked right past them. Mu’s jaw dropped, speechless that her little sister was able to pass right through them.
“It’s easy!” Molly said as she kept on going.
“W-wait! Molly!” Mu shouted, trying to go after her, however she got caught by three Moon Penguins. Mu groaned in disgust. “W-wait my little sister went in there!” She told them. The Moon Penguins looked at one another and stepped aside letting her through. “W-wait you're just letting me through?”
The first Moon Penguin nodded. “Just get your little sister, and get outta here as soon as possible.” He told her.
Mu blinked and thought for a second, “was this Molly’s plan?” She thought. Nevertheless, Molly’s plan or not, it did give the Moon Penguins to let Mu pass. “T-Thank you.” Mu replied as she ran off to catch up to Molly.
Back with Hat Kid, she was doing good so far not trying to get caught by the Express Owls, though she did break a cactus on the way, but maybe no one will notice. She was now riding on a moving platform that went from one part of the studio to the other. As she rode on it she saw Mu and Molly have gotten far towards DJ Grooves side of the studio and it’s just a hop, skip, jump, and a whole other set of movements to get to the Time Piece.
While traveling on the platform, Hat Kid saw something twinkle in the distance. She recognized that twinkle as the Time Piece. Jumping off the platform and landing on a tightrope. “Woah!” She exclaimed, as she caught herself and quickly walked across the tightrope to get to the Time Piece. Once getting through the tightrope, she made it to the room and saw the Time Piece.
“Jackpot!” Hat Kid and Mu cheered at the same time. The two girl’s eyes widened as they slowly turned to see the other girl. “Huh? What are you doing here?” They both asked. “Me? I’m collecting the Time Piece!” Hat Kid and Mu glared at each other. “Stop copying me! Me? You're copying me! Quit it!”
Molly sighed seeing these two were going to constantly argue and she just walked up to the Time Piece and grabbed it. “Got it!” Molly exclaimed, causing the two girls to turn and look at her as she held onto the Time Piece. “Now let’s go!” The three girls were about to run off, but were blocked by the two bird directors.
“Hey, what are you doing with our props!” DJ Grooves and Conductor shouted at the same time.
Hat Kid gulped, and tried to think of an excuse to get her and the girls out of trouble. Mu held onto Molly’s hand ready to book it in case the directors were going to go after them.
“I-I’m sorry.” Molly spoke up. “I-It’s just these props are important and well, we need them.”
DJ Grooves and Conductor gazed upon the young girl, and saw the twinkle in her eyes. Conductor went up to the young girl and wanted to speak to her, but DJ Grooves pushed him out of the way as he fell from the room. “Why, I have never seen a star as bright as your darling.” DJ Grooves commented.
Mu glared and was ready to punch the Moon Penguin if what she was thinking was true. Hat Kid grabbed Mu’s hand and shook her head not wanting to be violent. At least not yet.
“Thank you.” Molly replied.
The Moon Penguin director took a good look at Molly and nodded. “Yes you're perfect!” He beamed.
“Perfect for what?”
“To be my next star…in my next movies!” DJ Grooves revealed.
Molly’s eyes widened as stars started to appear in them. Mu however, was in total shock. “What?!” She shouted. Molly was still star struck by the offer.
“You want me to be a star?” Molly asked.
“That’s what I said darling.” DJ Grooves replied.
Molly was squealing, which caused everyone to cover their ears. After a moment of squealing with joy, she turned back towards the moon penguin director. “Sorry.” She apologized. “I’d love to be in your movies.”
“Woah. Woah. Back it up little sister.” Mu stepped in. “When did I say we’ll be doing movies?”
“And who are you?” DJ Grooves asked.
“Your newest star’s older sister.” Mu replied. “So that technically makes me her agent as well.”
“Well.” DJ Grooves started. I guess I have two new darlings working for me.”
Mu crossed her arms wondering about this new job offer. “How much do we get paid?” Mu asked.
DJ Grooves thought of how much to pay his new workers until his eyes glanced at the Time Piece. “I can give you those hourglass things if you want.”
This offer made Mu’s eyes sparkle with stars like her younger sister. “Where do we sign?” Mu asked. DJ Grooves chuckled and took the girls to his office to discuss the details about the kinds of movies they’ll be making.
Conductor finally got back up in the room and saw DJ Grooves leaving with his two new employees. The owl director heard everything and grumbled. “Well, if DJ Grooves,” He started. “Can have a new star, then so can I.” Luckily, Conductor didn’t have to look too far and saw Hat Kid looking speechless over what just happened.
“Lassie!” Conductor called out. Hat Kid looked up at the owl director. “How’d you like to be my star for my movies?” He asked.
Hat Kid thought for a second about this. Sure, helping Conductor with his movies could possibly gain her the Time Pieces back. However, Hat Kid was never the performing arts type. “Would I have to sing?” She asked. This was the ONE BIG thing she NEVER wanted to do.
Conductor laughed. “Oh don’t worry Lassie, I don’t make those kinds of movies.” He reassured her.
“Okay!” Hat Kid replied. Conductor then led her to his side of the studio to talk about details.
Regarding the Redolence AU
Yeaaah... that.
So I’ve already gotten multiple asks about this, which I appreciate cause I think it means you guys like my story?
But with that being said, obviously there’s been a bunch of craziness that’s gone on over the past 24 hours. I’m still trying to get all the details, because again, I don’t really read/follow the boys outside of their content, so when I got the first message I was like ‘wtf are you talking about?’. Really I don’t care about them normally outside of their videos because I only write about their personas, not them as people.
But this is one of those rare times I do care.
Please read below if you’re comfortable with this subject, but be warned its regarding allegations of sexual abuse/assault as well as emotional manipulation.
I mean, I don’t think I’ve publicly stated on here that I’m a survivor of sexual/physical abuse during a long-term relationship when mental health and threats of suicide kept me around far longer than I should have allowed. I’ve hit my low, tried to die, gotten help, risen up and gotten myself out of that terrible place we’re left to rot after these situations. Its a very difficult thing to process, heal from, and my heart breaks for the women and men that deal with this every day.
While dealing with Lui isn’t difficult (as his case was very black and white with a fucking dick pic to a 15 year old while hes 30 and he’s not really needed in the story), the situation with Mini is different. He’s obviously one of the main characters, and ironically, deals most with the idea of sexual assault in the AU. I’m still trying to sort out the allegations that were made about him, as I know ages and areas of the world are being brought into question. I’m also looking into what his survivors (they did not die, they are warriors who survived, so they are not victims) want us followers to do, and how this is treated on his side of things. The worst thing people can do in situations like this is to form an opinion without all the pieces (as most rapists get away with their crimes due to this kind of mindset, sadly). Also again I just heard about this like, 9 hours ago and worked all day afterwards so...
At the moment, Redolence is on hiatus.
But, if all things check out and he doesn’t meet my very high expectations of what needs to be done, then I guess I don’t really have a choice, do I?
Redolence will have to be cancelled. It’s not something I like thinking about, mainly because I’ve put so much work into it and it’s the only story that’s really keeping me in the BBS fandom. With LH’s new version and book 3 starting in July, I didn’t plan to really do much else for a while. And though I enjoy writing content for BBS, I don’t really think I can start the story up again without Mini. Nobody else really fits the role or the plans I had for his character. To remodel the entire plot would just be disheartening, and who knows who else is going to get called out next. I wish I could say I trust none of the others will have accusations about them, but look where that brought us, now.
So that’s kind of my stance atm. I’ll wait for the other shoe to drop, see what’s left in the fallout, and make my final decision then.
Thank you,
Crimson
I forgot to post here in a while...I'm on a mini-hiatus. I've been busy with IRL stuff, will be back in around 1 week for a bit.
However, I'm not sure if I'll have time to write any theories or make any of my own posts for a while. I don't know how to write or make a meme anymore... Also, I think I'm getting burned out by fandom culture overall (this applies to any fandom even ones that I'm not in). I enjoy reading and seeing all these different contributions and talking to others but I don't know how to contribute anymore. I think I'm afraid to say opinions on things or if I say it wrong, it could easily be misinterpreted. I don't think I mean much overall I guess... but I'm still very much human.
If anyone is reading this, I hope you have a great day!
