It's so interesting to react to being referred to by a screen-name.
#crystal visions of lilies in the valley#I've never used this (different) username before and someone called me by the first half of it and I was like '...that me?'#and then my brain going *Jake Ryan voice* 'yeah that me'#it's kind of interesting being anonymous and using a new username because on one hand I want to add my real name so#people actually know how to refer to me but on the other...hm! it's just interesting. IDK.#it's especially interesting for me who can't really fathom being referred to any other way but by my name or some variation of it#(as in a username) and since my name is so short it's not like anyone can even really make nicknames out of it. LOL so#I guess when someone's used a longer and not real name for me based on a screen-name I'm like 'oh...so that's what it's like' I guess???#I guess the concept of nicknames (let alone screen-names) for me is just funny because most people expect nicknames to be shortened#versions of a longer/full name but you CAN'T do that with my 1st name which is only 4 letters so all nicknames for me are actually#longer and more ridiculous. LOL so it's just kinda interesting! if any of that makes any sense at all!

Falling For High School! Snafu Would Include...
This is going to be apart of a series. Just an idea I had roaming in my head! It’s pretty bad but I just had to get this out here. High School! Snafu is an interesting concept...✨✨
You met Snafu in your French class sophomore year
You originally knew him as Merriell since the teacher would always call him that (or call him out for not paying attention)
He’s the only junior in a class full of underformers
At first glance, you’re kinda weary of him because of all the rumors you had heard
I mean, his nickname had said it all for you
Everybody knew him as the “werid” older student
Just seemed like nothing more than a weird dude
It’s like any other day and your in French
You get assigned to work with Snafu on a project
Great, not only your with the older werido, but he also most likely won’t do the work
He moves to your desk with a cheeky smile on his face
“Y/n, innit?”
“Yeah, and you're Merriell?”
“You can call me Snafu, darlin’”
Snafu to say the least was very unpredictable
He was fluent in French and did his fair share in the project
You guys actually got an A+ on the project
It had sparked a sudden friendship between the two of you
Hanging out during your free blocks, exchanging numbers, etc
Heck, he even came over for dinner
Your mother absolutely loves him since you convince him to put on a goody two shoes act so he doesn’t give your poor mother a heart attack
He would hang out in your room as you guys made tik toks and played Among Us
But the more you guys became “friends”, the more you noticed his long stares and sleepless nights you would spend texting
It was pretty obvious that Snafu had been not so subtlety flirting with you
Burgie, a friend of Snafu and you, even notices but doesn’t say because he likes to watch all the drama unfold from a distance
He would call you cher, pat you on the head, and be way too nice to you
“Why don’t you go poking around with some girl around your age?”
“None of treat me like you do, cher.”
“Ah, the sympathy card. Try your luck next time, Shelton.”
He was a cigarette smoking Cajun while you were a goody two shows with straight a’s
Snafu could have have anybody else but yet he puts all your attention on you and only you?
So anyways, there’s this bully in your Latin class named Lukas
He’s overall an asshole who especially loved to harass you
Since Snafu became your friend and possible crush, he had been leaving you alone-ish
But the harassment still didn’t stop and the comments would get even worse
“Whats the matter? Gonna cry about it to your fuck buddy?”
“He only likes you because he feels bad for you. Look at you.”
Lukas wasn't entirely wrong since nobody ever paid attention to you except Snafu
It was a dirty confession, but you sometimes liked the attention he gave you since you had never expiernced it before
So it’s the end of class and you’re packing up all of your stuff
You stayed after to talk with the teacher so your all alone
Wanting to fill up your water bottle, you walk to the nearest water fountain and fill it
Returning to the classroom, your in absolute hororr
All of the books in your bag had been spilled all over the place and your phone screen had been smashed
The notes you had done for an important quiz had been all ripped up
Down the hallway, you can hear Lukas and his friend snickering
Not knowing what to do, you burst into tears
Snafu had forgotten one of his books and walked in on you, sobbing your eyes out
He walks over and sees the mess
In an awaked manner, he bends down and pats your back as you let it all loose
“Merde sacrée! Y/n, you good?”
You shake you head as you can barley breathe from all the tears
Snafu furrows his eyebrows as he shakes his head in disgust
“Who did dis, cher?”
“L-Lukas...but please don’t interfere.”
“Only because your sayin’ it, I won’t. But let me drive you home.”
Snafu drives you home and he’s there when you explain it to your mother
She calls the school and wants it sealed with immediately
Snafu gives you a hug before going back into car
Throughout the night he’s sending you funny Tik Tok’s and memes because he’s such a himbo
So it’s the next day of school and your kinda shaky but know it’s going to be dealt with
As you grab your books for Geometry, you hear students running to the Cafeteria
Curious, you follow and are in absolute shock
Snafu was on top of a whimpering Lukas, beating the living shit out of him
“Think it’s funny to bully other’s to jazz ya cargo pants boo?”
“G-get off of me, bug eyes!”
Lukas was begging for him to stop with a bloody nose, crying
It gets split up and both of the boys are dragged away
So after you finish your classes you wait outside of the nurses office and see Snafu walk out with a bruised eye and bloody lip
He smiles at you, acting like nothing bad at happened
Walking over, you slap him really hard
“What the hell is wrong with you!”
“Whaddya mean?”
“I told you not to confront him, and yet you do!”
“He was hurting you. What the hell did you expect me do? Let him kick yah around?”
“It was none of your buisness!”
You were right up in his face, your rough breathes being the only noise
Digging throguh his pocket to find his car eyes, Snafu says “Fuck it. Let’s go.”
“What?”
“We’re outta here. Fuck this prison.”
“But I have a test in Phy-“
“Just Get in my damn car, y/n.”
There went your perfect attendance. Your mother was going to be worried sick but Snafu, despiste his insane judgement, was right
You and Snafu drive around in his Jeep in utter silence
Bringing you into a forest area, you guys stop as you overlook a cliff
Pulling out a box of cigarettes, he begins to smoke. You look over and admire the way his calloused fingers fiddle with the lighter. The way the cigar caseually hung from his lip.
Your staring was a little too obvious as Snafu looked over, offering a Cigarette
“No thanks. My mom says they kill your lungs.”
“Doesn’t you mama have a lot to say about everythin’?”
“She does. But those nicotine sticks give you cancer.”
“Are you gonna let her control you for da rest of ya life, Cher? Swear to god, you’ll be livin’ with her right by ya side. Even when ya married she’ll try to give you the birds and bees talk.”
A chuckle escapes from your lips. Snafu laughs along with you. He was right. For the few hours you were away from your overprotective, might as taste freedom. What was the harm in doing so?
“You know what? Fuck it. Hand one over, please.”
“Be careful, darlin’. Don’t get too cocky.”
Handing you a cigarette, you place it on your lips. Snafu brings a lighter close to your face. He grabs your chin gently to pull you close in order to lite the cigarette and suddenly my pants are wet
It took you by shock. His hands were dry, yet soft. As he lite your cigarette, his hand didn’t leave your chin. The two of you looked at eachother with a long gaze. There had been so much tension between you. Snafu had truly cared about you more than anybody in the world. There was something innocent about you that he simply adored.
Taking out the cigarette to blow smoke into his face, he leans in more to connect with your lips
Instead of rejecting it you happily accept the kiss. It was your first kiss and it had to be the Cajun bad boy. Not that you are complaining. His lips were like heaven. It was passionate and lasted for over a minute before you separated to breathe. Some of the saliva ran throguh from tongue. There is obvious regret on your face.
“You know why I like you, y/n?”
“Why, Snafu?”
“Because your a smart, and extremely hot person. Someone who’s decent in this fucked up place. Take that as a compliment.”
“That was a lot to take in. Thanks, I guess?”
There was a silence, before Snafu broke it
“Would you wanna do this again by the way? Y’know, except without the fight. And when your not studying.”
A smile appeared on your face as you blew out cigarette smoke, “I’m free on Saturdays.”
“Then Saturday it is, darlin’ .”

Fall 2020 Anime Season:
Golden Kamuy Season 3 is, so far, just as good as the first two seasons. For anyone unfamiliar with the show, it follows a former soldier called “Immortal Sugimoto” (nicknamed so for his tendency to survive a lot of shit that would kill most people) and a young Ainu (the Japanese equivalent of Native Americans) girl as they search Northern Japan (and even parts of Russia) for hidden Ainu gold. The story is pretty wild, with threats coming from the wildlife and the harsh, snowy conditions as often as from mercenaries, assassins, and various other human dangers. The cast has expanded enough that we have several separate groups of cool, well-written characters roaming about (and they’ve shuffled a bit from season two, making their interactions very interesting). Sugimoto remains one of my favorite anime protagonists. He’s one of the more brutal, violent main characters I’ve seen, but, strangely, also one of the nicest. He’s kind to innocents (both people and animals) but will slaughter his enemies without hesitation. He’s also pretty funny. Then again, almost every character is subject to the show’s weird but endearing humor. It’s very hard to dislike any character, even the ones who are quite cruel. The show is also notable for having a lot of homoerotic subtext. The beefy, handsome men sure do love taking their clothes off and wrestling. Like, taking it ALL off. Multiple times per season. Yeah. Watch this show, everybody.
Ikebukuro West Gate Park is a new show this season that I was initially interested in because it reminded me of Durarara!! in that it’s set in Ikebukuro and features color gangs. That’s where the similarities end, however. Whereas Durarara!! had tons of supernatural elements and just plain craziness, IWGP is more realistic by comparison. The show follows Makoto, a seemingly normal guy who seems to function in a sort of “odd jobs” type of role for a color gang called the G Boys. While they’re a gang, they don’t seem like criminals or thugs, or even delinquents. They really feel more like a club, held together by their respect for the leader referred to as King. So far the series seems to be episodic in nature, with most stand-alone episodes focusing on some sort of social issue, from drug addiction to immigration. It’s interesting to see these issues presented in such a sympathetic light, viewed through the lens of Tokyo’s youth. The art is nice, with varied character designs and animation that’s just good enough that you don’t notice the problems very often. The music is a highlight, with my favorite opening theme of the season and one of the better ending themes.
Magatsu Wahrheit is a show I was very iffy on at first. It has a lot of things working against it. It’s based on a video game I’ve never heard of, the opening theme is one of the cheapest, most unimpressive things I’ve ever seen (note: it does improve a few episodes in!), and the series overall has a low budget feel (though nowhere near as bad as Gibiate from last season). But the story is actually very interesting and very well written. The basic premise is that Young Man A (I’m not remembering these weird names, sorry) works as a delivery truck driver in your usual “modern fantasy” setting (kingdoms and monsters and other medieval fantasy trappings alongside trucks and cars and advanced science laboratories). When he’s loading up his deliveries, Young Man B, a fresh recruit in the kingdom’s military and general goody-two-shoes, randomly offers to help Young Man A load his truck. Young Man B spots some boxes off to the side and, assuming they were part of the load, puts them into the truck while Young Man A is talking to his boss. These boxes turn out to be illegal weapons being smuggled by a group of... freedom fighters? I guess? This, in turn, drags Young Man A into a shit storm of trouble when the illegal weapons are discovered in his truck. It also leads directly to tragedy for Young Man B as well, setting them both on wildly different but similarly dangerous paths. The whole idea that a simple act of kindness for a stranger sets off such a terrible series of events is pretty engaging. As it stands in the show right now, Young Man A is the more compelling character. He’s just a truck driver. He’s a coward who runs from danger and wants no part of any of this. But at the same time, he can be surprisingly brave at times (usually when a child is in danger). In a twist on the usual trope, these spurts of bravery are rarely rewarded. At least twice, his decision to act has led to heartbreaking tragedy. So far Young Man B is your typical “idealistic youth realizing the military isn’t comprised entirely of nice people” type of character. As such, he’s just not as interesting. He hasn’t had as much screen time though, so hopefully he’ll grow as a character. I guess it says a lot that I’ve written so much about the show, and almost all of it is about the plot. But the plot is really the only remarkable thing about it. In this case, that’s enough.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is, well, a bit of a trainwreck. And I’m not necessarily talking about the quality of the show. Let me explain: The show was marketed as a remake of the 2006 anime, which was one of my all-time favorite series. I was pretty excited about it. Lots of new fans who had never watched the original started this one. The first episode was okay. I wasn’t crazy about how shiny everything looked (I realize the original’s visuals are a bit dated now but at least they were unique, this new one looks like pretty much every harem anime from the past five years) but the story seemed to be doing good and I looooooved the use of the original opening theme song as the closer. Then episode two dropped, and the fandom basically exploded. The first few minutes of episode two reveal that this is not a remake, but a sequel! Shock! At first, I was impressed by this little bit of manipulation. It felt exciting to realize the truth. But then it dawned on me (and the rest of the fandom) that new viewers who came to watch this were screwed over. Those first few minutes of episode two spoil some very important things from the original series (we’re talking major spoilers here), and it’s going to ruin a lot of plot points for those who never watched the original and now want to go back and watch it first. So here’s a PSA: If you’re new to Higurashi and want to try this new series, DON’T unless you’re okay with watching a sequel that spoils the original.
Okay, so now let’s talk about this new series/sequel. First, the good points: The ending theme is GORGEOUS. Just... go watch it. Soak it up. The opening isn’t bad but I can’t help comparing it to the far superior original opening. Aside from the overly shiny and generic character designs, the rest of the visuals are pretty great. The scenery in particular is very nice. In terms of story, I like the idea of beginning each new “arc” by staying close to the original story, then throwing in some pretty wild deviations that make them end in completely different ways because a character that lived through the original is trying to make subtle changes (that so far have ended up turning out very badly). When it comes to the bad points, one in particular sticks out: It’s not scary! The original had some truly unsettling moments, and so far this one hasn’t even been creepy. It’s had some moments that obviously tried to be scary but have failed miserably. For example, the early scenes with Rena in the original were actually terrifying. But I felt none of the intensity or creepiness in this sequel. Still, it’s nice to see these characters again and to see how this story deviates as someone tries desperately to change the outcomes.
Haikyuu!! has another new season and... I don’t really know what to say about it. I’ve talked about this show several times now. Looks like this season is going to focus primarily on one long match, a concept I’m not crazy about. They also made the baffling decision to cut in with a full episode about a rival team’s match right in the middle of showing the match with the main team. I mean I love seeing more of the rival teams but it felt disjointed to do it this way. Still yet, it’s a fun and energetic show full of great characters and easily understood volley ball matches.
Jujutsu Kaisen is probably the most hyped up new show this season, and I would say it definitely deserves that hype. It’s a pretty familiar shounen fighting anime setup: A teenage boy acquires special powers and joins a school to train so that he can use those powers for good. However, following that formula does little to negate just how fun and well-done this series is. A lot of people have compared it to Naruto (the protagonist is a vessel for a powerful entity, he joins a trio of characters with a more serious and moody black-haired boy and a chick, and they have a badass teacher with silver hair who keeps his face partially covered). So sure, it’s like Naruto... except it’s much better than Naruto in every conceivable way. The animation and fight choreography are consistently fantastic. The main character is not the least bit annoying. The only chick in the group (there are more cool ladies in the story, just not in this group!) is a badass in her own right and her story and motivations have absolutely nothing to do with romantic interest in any of the guys. Even the teacher character is incredibly fun. The music is great, with my favorite ending theme of the season. You know it’s an excellent ending theme when people start making different versions of it using characters from other shows. It’s so, well, fun. A word I keep using here, because that’s the first word that comes to mind when I’m watching this series.
Talentless Nana is one of those shows that’s going to be difficult for me to talk about without spoiling a very cool surprise. This surprise comes at the end of episode one (basically, the show makes you think it’s about something, but turns out it’s about something completely different). So if you want to really enjoy that surprise, stop reading this and go watch episode one before coming back. If you’ve already watched it or don’t mind having the surprise spoiled, here we go: The first episode sets up the series to be a cheap Boku no Hero Academia knock-off. We have a school of “talented” (super powered) kids training to use their powers to save humanity from (so far) unseen monsters referred to as “the enemies of humanity”. We are told one boy has no “talent” or special power and he’s ridiculed for this. There’s a new transfer student named Nana, a super sweet and cheerful girl with pink hair who has the ability to read minds. There’s also another transfer student, a sullen and quiet boy named Kyouya who hasn’t disclosed what his “talent” is. With that setup, I think a lot of people were ready to dismiss it as “BNHA, but not as good”. But then, a few minutes before the first episode ends, we’re hit with the twist that reveals what this show is really about: Nana is the one with no “talent”. She lied about being able to read minds (the boy we thought had no talent did actually have one). She’s a totally normal human being, and she has been sent to infiltrate the school and kill off the students, the true “enemies of humanity” (called so because their powers make them incredibly dangerous). Thus, the show is about a normal human girl using only her wits and skill in manipulation to kill off super-powered individuals. Watching her work is an absolute delight. She is ruthless and incredibly intelligent, but she does have one major problem: the other transfer student Kyouya, who is at least as smart as she is and is suspicious of her right off the bat. But since he’s not sure she’s up to no good, he can’t really act on his suspicions. Nana in turn knows he suspects her, so she has to be careful around him. As a result, the two become “friends”, constantly watching and outmaneuvering each other. In this way, the series reminds me of the early, best parts of Death Note, with the mental sparring between Light and L. But the most fun you’ll have with this show is watching Nana come up with ways to deal with each new “talent” she comes across, from the ability to time travel to necromancy, all while having no special power of her own. The art is nice, a bit generic, nothing too fancy. The music is great, with one of the better opening themes this season.
Moriarty the Patriot focuses on the classic Sherlock antagonist Professor Moriarty. Let me get this out of the way first: I know next to nothing about Sherlock. I haven’t even watched any of the various tv shows about him. What I know of the character basically comes from mentions of him in Detective Conan. So I’m coming into this series with no preconceived notions about these characters and no other versions to compare them to. Anyway, Moriarty as a series is about class warfare. Moriarty as a character pretty much embodies the phrase “eat the rich”. If you’re familiar with the phrase and understand its meaning, you’ll probably like this show. Moriarty works as a professor, but his side job is as a “Crime Consultant”. He helps the poor lower classes get revenge on the cruel nobles and elites who have wronged them. This revenge most often involves murder. There’s something refreshing about how unapologetic it is. In most anime, the hero tries to find other ways to punish evil than by actually killing them, or there’s some lesson involved about how revenge isn’t the answer or how killing someone who wronged you makes you as bad as them. In this series, there’s absolutely none of that. People get their revenge and, so far as I’ve watched, seem to be living much happier lives afterwards. In this way the show totally avoids being preachy. The art is gorgeous, with classy character designs and lovely backgrounds. There’s a certain lushness to it. The music is very nice as well (particularly that poppy ending theme). The only downside is that this has probably ruined me for watching other versions of these characters now. I mean, once you see them as sexy anime pretty boys, it’s hard to see them as anything else.

Previous Chapter // Help Me Help You - Masterlist
That night she woke up before her nightmare had really begun, leaving her sweating and with a weird feeling in her gut.
And yet again she was not alone as she silently padded down the stairs to the living area.
She let out a breathy laugh as she spotted his form in front of the TV.
“Somehow I always seem to run into you here.” She chuckled. Of cause she didn’t know of his half-heartedly set goal to go out of her way for the time being. Seemed like he wasn’t really keen on the whole concept as well.
He smiled at her as she approached him. Her short hair was tousled so it looked like her entire head was a cloud of wavy, tangled hair. He had gotten a closer look of her. Her hair was either a very light brown or a very dark blonde with a tint of red he saw only in the shine of natural light. Her cheeks had sunken in a little since the drastic weight loss, but the plump shape of them was still somehow hiding behind it when she smiled or laughed and her pouty lips curled upwards, leaving the faintest blush on her face.
Her eyes were big and round and someway she always managed to look so innocent. The light shade of grey and green that filled them didn’t help in not making her look like a doll.
He looked back at the television and smiled to himself.
“You sure you’re not looking for me, doll?” He commented and the unexpected nickname spread a heat over her cheeks she hadn’t been expecting. Thankfully, to only the blue-ish glow from the screen, it was too dark for him to notice.
“Well, you’re always taking my spot, so…” She let herself fall down next to him with a huff.
“Oh, I’m taking your spot? Is that so?” He chuckled and looked back at her, but her eyes were trained on the screen.
“Oh yes, mysterious man.” She called him and he shook his head, a smirk still tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“That’s the name you choose to give me?” He asked incredulously.
“You’re calling me doll.”
“Because it’s fitting.”
“Oh, and ‘Mysterious Man’ isn’t?” She questioned back and raised an eyebrow at him.
He looked back, his mouth opening as if to respond, but turned back to look at the screen.
She clenched her jaw. She had just managed to make him feel uncomfortable. Great.
“Hey, don’t worry. It can be your made-up name. ‘Mysterious Man’ sounds pretty cool.” She mumbled.
“I already have one.” He suddenly said and cursed himself for his loose tongue around her. Somehow talking felt easier in her presence.
“Oh.” She whispered.
A long silence until she spoke up again, wanting to break the tension. She knew it must’ve been one from his previous life. She had picked up as much as to know he had one. All of their lives had been divided into before Hydra and after Hydra. No one was who they have once been. Not Bucky, not Steve, not Wanda. Not her.
“What do you think would be my code name?”
He turned to look at her, biting his lip, looking concerned.
After a while he let out a forceful breath through his nose, indicating some sort of amusement while he was still not fully laughing. “You wouldn’t need one.”
“Why not?” Relief washed over her. He was beginning to lighten up.
“You’re…” He looked at her for another few seconds, looking her over, before he shook his head again. “You just wouldn’t need it. Can’t Annabelle be enough?”
“Sure, but where’s the fun in that, huh?” She winked and he let out a deep chuckle.
“What, uhm… what is your name anyway?” She asked sheepishly as the corners of her mouth twitched up.
“James. Buchanan Barnes.” He answered and smiled back at her.
Her small smile turned into a full grin. She extended her hand. “Nice to meet you, James. I’m Annabelle Colin Feldner.” It dawned on him that they have never been properly introduced to one another.
He took her hand in his and gave it a squeeze. His was warm, while hers was cold. Her fingertips at least.
“A pleasure.”
She let go of him and laid her hand on her lap. “So… why Bucky?”
He shrugged “My mom called me Bucky so it kind of stuck, I guess. Also Steve always called me Buck.” He smiled as he thought back.
“Steve?” She asked slowly as her brows knitted. It hit him like a truck. Of cause. How could she know.
“Yeah… we uhm, we grew up together…”
She frowned and he saw her contorted face (and secretly finding it adorable). “But… Steve was… he was born like a hundred years ago…?”
He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat. “Yeah, uhm… he was, but me, too. I-” She still looked the same confused as before. This wouldn’t be getting very far unless he’d give her something.
“I was frozen, too.” And technically he didn’t lie. Wasn’t wrong about that. She couldn’t know too much about Steve’s past. Well, his resurrection had surely been something even she couldn’t have missed, but she couldn’t know all the details about his return and he was content with what he would leave her believing in.
Her mouth hung open for a while, gears turning in her head. “Oooooooohh. I- I didn’t know that…” She stammered.
“’S fine. I mean, how could you, right?”
“But… how...?” Suddenly there were so many more questions to be answered. How come she never saw him on TV, for example. How had she never heard of him before?
But she didn’t want to focus on those questions. She knew it would make him even more uncomfortable than he already was.
“So… you’re how old, exactly?” She asked curiously.
“…Ninety-Seven? Ninety-Eight?” He had to think about that one. Hard to keep track once you’re that old.
Now she was gaping at him.
“What??” She asked, still unbelieving, her eyes wide open.
“I promise, I’m not kidding.” He smirked and saw her eyes light up.
“So you’re literally from another- a whole other millennium?” She asked jumpily. She looked like one of those Emoji Wanda had been showing to him. Literally one big smiley-face. But he couldn’t lie, he didn’t not like the attention. Her attention.
“Yes… wait- aren’t you…?” He asked nervously. He never actually knew the girl’s age. “Sure, but not like you.” She sighed and continued whispering. “That’s so cool.”
He shook his head back at her. “Trust me, it wasn’t all great back then.” “Oh, yeah, right. You had the war…” She grimaced awkwardly, looking to her left and he let out a laugh at her expression.
“Sure. That wasn’t great. But everything is just a little better now than it was before, you know?”
She nodded back ”I think I do. Well, I can imagine.” She looked like she thought for a second, her eyes rolling to stare at the ceiling before another idea crossed her mind, a mischievous grin plastered on her face.
“Do you have any funny stories about Steve?”
“That’s what you’re interested in?” He smiled and she nodded eagerly.
“I don’t know a lot about you, so you can start with telling me stories about you.” He wasn’t sure whether she meant you plural or singular, but either way, he wouldn’t want to disappoint her.
“Well there was this one time Steve and I went to Coney Island together…”
She listened and giggled, occasionally laughed, not wanting to disturb the others’ sleep, as he continued telling her about himself and Steve, their childhood together.
There was something about her; whether it was her laugh, her smile, the way her eyes glistened as she looked at him… There was something about it that made him relax. Feel at ease, at peace with himself and he rarely ever felt that anymore. Not since Hydra. He didn’t know how much she had suffered. Perhaps even as much as him, if that could even be possible, but something about her made him forget about all that.
She was that one drug his body didn’t reject and made him float in unconcern, if only for just a while.
And knowing how he knew her pain, she found comfort in him, too.
