Always Safest Near the Sea
Pairing: Percy Jackson x Demigod!Reader
Warnings: hurt&comfort, conflicted feelings, siblingxsibling implied, aphrodite meddling with poor kids, mentions of car accident, death
Words: 1,014
Summary: You always found it odd when your grandparents had told you "It's always safest near the sea". Normally children were told the exact opposite. Or had they known all along about your true parentage?
Cabin 3 was quiet except for Tyson’s loud snoring and the soft trickling of the fountain at the far end of the cabin. Tyson had been the only happy one to find out that you were his sister. Everyone else. . . They treated you like a pariah. Especially Percy who you had been growing close to.
You burrow deeper into your blankets as despair entrapped you. You missed the Hermes cabin, you felt awfully lonely.
To learn that you shouldn’t have even been born. . . It was enough to bring tears to your eyes. All the friends you had acquired were distant now as they stared at you. Daughter of Poseidon. There was no joy in your father having claimed you. You wished he had just ignored you. That would have been the considerate thing to do.
You missed your grandparents who had done their best to raise you; not knowing about your paternal parentage. Your mother had died when you were just a toddler, never getting the chance to tell you the truth. That was if she even knew herself.
Deciding that sleep would not have you that night, you peeled your covers off of you and quietly left the cabin to go down to the beach. The night was cool and calming as you sit on the sand. Camp Half-Blood didn’t feel like home anymore.
“I’d rather have Hermes as a dad.” You told the ocean bitterly, hoping it would carry the message to your father. The longer you watched the lazy waves, the angrier you got.
“I felt like that in the beginning too.” Came Percy’s voice from behind you. “But I wouldn’t say that out loud. Don’t want to upset. . . our dad.”
You just glare at him as he sheepishly stood there, his black hair blending with the black backdrop of night. “Oh, you’re finally talking to me?”
Immediately he flushes and stumbles over his words. “I-I deserve that. . .”
Hugging your knees to your chest, you hid your tear streaked face. “I thought all of you were my friends. Then you just turned on me. That hurt. A lot.”
The sand quiets his footsteps as he draws closer to you. “I know. (y/n) I’m so soryr. It’s been a shock to everyone. I should have known better. They treated me like that too when dad claimed me. And then when Tyson came along. . . I didn’t deal with that well either.” Swiftly Percy sits next to you, careful to leave a distance between. “Everything is just so confusing now.”
You lift your head up to rest your chin on your knees. In a slow fashion, your fingers were mindlessly weaving themselves through the soft sand.
A sigh fills the air like a passing breeze. “This is why Annabeth calls me Seaweed Brain. Can you forgive me?”
Going through this would be easier if you had both of your brothers by your side. Delicate music that the water played in the background. It always soothed your tempers.
Always safest near the sea.
Odd that your grandparents would tell that to you. Had. . . Had they known? Or was it one huge coincidence. Normally children were told the opposite. “Stay away from the water” should have been what your grandma yelled at you that one day. Like many demigods, you were a rambunctious child. Filled with endless energy and not being able to sit still, your grandma and grandpa had surprised you to a trip to the beach. The painful hours spent in the car was worth it when you finally arrived. Personally you didn’t remember much as it was years ago. Bits here and there, but not everything. You remember her words though.
They ended up proving true. Ultimately it saved your life.
“You found me here.” You quietly whisper.
Percy nods and looked out to the calm surface. “Yeah. I had this nagging feeling that I should go to the shore that night.” Deep green eyes flick nervously over to you. “Guess now we know why.”
It had been several weeks since Percy had found you there. Having thought you were a mermaid for a moment, he realized that you were just unconscious. You had woken up to identical green eyes. That’s when you had remembered what had happened.
You and your grandparents were taking another trip to the beach. Excited that it was finally summer and you could go to the beach, you grew antsy in the car. Temporarily distracted by your CD player, you were spared the sight of the monster that came barreling into the side of the car. Straight into the sand. They screamed at you to get in the water as fast as you could and instructed you not to look back. Bleeding and stumbling through tears you did so. Immediately the waves swallowed you whole.
The warmth of Percy’s hand on top of your’s made you look up at him past your lashes. “Things will get better. I promise.”
As Percy said that, something fell into the pit of his stomach. His rotten luck that the girl he had developed a small crush on was his sister. A snake of shame coils itself into tight knots inside of him. Amidst the chaos in his life, (y/n) had come out of nowhere and reminded Percy that he wasn’t just a demigod, but still a growing adolescent who deserved fun every once in a while too. He laughed more around (y/n) and enjoyed being a playful boy around his crush.
But. . . He had to forget about what he had felt for her. There was no place for such feelings now that he knew she was his half-sister.
Aphrodite seemed to have other plans for Percy though. Looking at (y/n) now, he still felt the same tug in his chest and the fluttering in his cheeks. The goddess of love wasn’t letting him off that easily. To Aphrodite, this would be the romance story of the century; greater and more impossible than that of Helen and Paris.
It would prove to be equally as tragic as well.

Dropping some Heartsteel head cannons I have bc these thoughts won’t leave me alone and I’m curious how much they are going to tie in magic with this (bc Kayn and Ezreal still have their powers)
Kayn and Rhaast
Was a street kid growing, something happened that lead to him being orphaned and living on the streets for a few years
Accidentally released rhaast while trying to steal things from a museum, Rhaasf was not happy about having the situation and tried to leave but Kayn didn’t let him go out of spite.
Two slowly grew to be friends but aren’t the healthiest of friends with Kayns ego feeding into Rhaast, especially when their on stage, and Rhaast has a tendency to voice and pressure kayn to follow through on intrusive thoughts or actions.
Rhaaat was the one who thought of them entering the music industry (wanted everyone’s eyes on him) and so they worked their ass off to get into the industry.
Rhaast also enjoys the dramatics, got very board sitting in the weapon for years and enjoys putting on a show and being a show off.
Ezreal
Was sort of like those Disney kids from the Mickey Mouse club, was how he got into the industry at such a young age. (Also could be why kayn calls him the pop star Prince, is bc he was everywhere for a while).
Is an orphan and is being raised by his uncle
Not sure how he got teleportation when he doesn’t seem to have the gauntlet but he very much loves using his abilities to jump around the city and do parkour.
Would probably also use it to sneak out at times either to hide from his old manager when he was in trouble
First time he did this in front of the boys was bc he was too lazy to walk to the kitchen and he scared the crap out of K’Sante, still make jokes about it.
The dog sleeps in his room, was also the one to name the dog.
Good af editing, especially on computers
Yone
Started out as a dj and went to music school and even taught his brother a few basics of being a dj as well.
Still had a falling out with his brother bc he saw how bad the industry was and didn’t want Yasuo to get involved. Led to them having a fight and haven’t really talked since
Is very into mythology and folklore (is why for his section of music video we see the azukana spirt. Is also partially bc I have no fucking clue how else to tie that part of his backstory into this).
Boys played a prank on him by switching his coffee once, long story short they all (including Rhaast) collectively agreed never to do this again bc of how terrifying the results of this prank where
Yone is one of the best drawers in the group besides Sett and the two talk about animations sometimes (Yone animated the fox in his section)
Has made the boys Dino nuggets at one point
Sett
Is a big fan of comics, animation, and pfp fighting games
Did the drawings for his section as well as the animations for the background (am referring to that scene in the end of the music video)
Dad was a boxer who left when Sett was young
Sett also knows how to box and worked as a boxer for a bit as well as a bouncer maybe. Rap was more of a hobby but when he got signed onto a record label he switched to doing it full time
Punched the paparazzi bc they were harassing his mom
Favorite anime’s include jojo’s bizar adventures and one punch man
Meet Apjelious before Heartsteel at a meuseum that showcasing a new planetarium exhibit. Two hit it off and are now dating.
Aphelios and Alune
He and his sister were involved in choir when they were younger
Alune went off to college to get her degree in business in management and aphelios went stayed home and did his music.
Aphelios lost his voice either due to medical reasons or because of an accident, Alune transferred to a closer college to be with her brother when the news broke out.
Aphelios had a hard time getting further in the industry, was often discredited or people wouldn’t want to work with him bc it was “too much of a hassle”.
Was nervous for his sister to meet Sett only to realize the two get along great and would 100% commit crimes together
Is also a gamer and will do dates with Sett that’s just them playing video games or Sett listening to him ramble on about movie or video game scores.
Aline was very chill with the boys breaking into the studio bjt did tell them not to break anything (spoilers, they did and she was not happy about it).
Alune is the older sibling and will tease her brother and the other boys and is not afraid to fight them if push comes to shove.
K’Sante
Has written and preformed a lot of songs before Heartsteel
Used to work on songs with his ex boyfriend but the two spit up due to the strain working together put on their relationship
Is the relationship expert in the group and will give the others advise or flirting or planning dates or anything else they need help with if they ask.
Loves going to the gym with Sett, might have been how the two of them meet in the first place. They got to talking about music at one point and when they found out the other was looking for someone to collaborate with they decided to work together.
Spot for one another when in the gym
Is the other mom friend of the group but a lot more chill, let’s them get away with more things then Yone would
Is good at filming and old school editing. He and Ezrael did most of the did for the music video and let the others scribble one what they compiled then approved it.
Was against the coffee incident and straight up left the building when it happened.

Do you ever hear about KOSA and just think “I should draw some porn before it’s too late” and then realise you can’t draw and you’re vaguely uncomfortable with drawing porn so you just draw characters/species from your special interest being snarky about it by hiding themselves behind a censor? No? Just me?
Don’t ask what Moth is doing or why Jugulis seems to be tipping itself upside-down. Or why Valiant and the Neo Swords have their blades out (okay that one actually makes sense)
Featuring an over-exaggerated censor because I realised there are only 8 letters in censored and I had the opportunity to do the best thing ever (each letter matches one of the Future Paradox Pokémon)
Who each of the descriptions is referencing: “11 beings with no gender” is the Future Paradox Pokémon as a group because I still haven’t worked out the difference between genderless and gender unknown, “pan dragon” is Miraidon (I considered referring to it as “Mimi” because I bet Jugulis nicknames it Mimi to match everyone else being referred to as the second word in their names), “ “lazy” omni dragon who may have ADHD” is Jugulis because it has a similar colour scheme to the omni flag and I guess I wanted one to have ADHD, the moth that Jugulis is in a relationship with is Moth, “two “dangerous” humans with autism” are Hands and Valiant because I’ve seen people refer to Valiant as autistic and I think one of Hands’s animations looks like a stim - specifically Hands is the one in a relationship with a penguin (it’s Bundle) and Valiant is the left-handed one that will stab you (I bet it’s like “I don’t wanna entertain stereotypes but” *stabs you*), the overexcited party animal deer is Leaves because it’s got a funny run animation and it bounces its hind legs before performing Psyblade, the pyromaniac bull is Boulder because I headcanon that it and Fire like to use explosives on their enemies (them combined with Valiant’s eagerness to stab those it believes did stuff wrong probably means that in this reality, KOSA doesn’t stand a chance), the “disgruntled goat that has to deal with them” is Crown (who agrees with their political opinions but doesn’t agree with Boulder’s methods of dealing with them) and the metalhead is Thorns (but honestly at least Valiant and Boulder are also metalheads. And Leaves because it’s my favourite Pokémon. And all the Future Paradox Pokémon just because). The only one I didn’t single out was Treads. This is because I wasn’t trying to single out every single one of them I just thought I should say stuff about them
The parts about them trying to live their lives being sexual, Jugulis being lazy and Hands and Valiant being dangerous are meant to be sarcastic (though admittedly Valiant is definitely dangerous, it’s just not the autism’s fault). I probably didn’t need to include the neurodivergent parts (and admittedly if we assume these guys aren’t well-disguised cyborgs it doesn’t make that much sense anyway) but I guarantee everyone that supports KOSA has a problem with the disabled
I didn’t intentionally create a pan flag using Valiant, Boulder and Bundle’s parts of the background (also random but if you line up the Neo Swords in Pokédex order their lights make a pan flag)
I think I wanted to restart Miraidon’s lightning but I liked that it formed a W shape as if it was saying “whatever lol” to right-wing opinions (as in ignoring them)
Oh yeah those strange glowy bits are Leaves (in pink), Boulder (in orange) and Crown (in blue) levitating the sign
And don’t ask what happened to Treads (this is why I need to pay attention to the size of the brush I’m using)
#fandom with politics#fuck kosa#future paradox#iron treads#iron bundle#iron hands#iron jugulis#iron moth#iron thorns#iron valiant#miraidon#iron leaves#iron boulder#iron crown#procreate art#strangely Crown seems to be the only one in the process of attacking

You gazed out of the car window, sitting in one of the back passenger’s seats. The journey was pleasant, a nice prologue to the vacation you were about to begin – Ginny, Hermione, Angelina and Alicia, your travel companions sharing snacks and blasting muggle pop songs while singing along.
Natural curiosity made you wonder what the atmosphere was like, in the other car – which Fred, George, Lee, Harry and Ron travelled by. They had been driving behind you for some distance, before passing you by and disappearing in the distance – you supposed Fred had a bit too much fun behind the wheel.
It seemed like you’d be lucky with the weather for most of the two weeks of your stay at the cabin – that day was pleasantly warm with just a bit of refreshing wind, and the Sun was shining beautifully in the bright, blue sky.
The whole area around the place you were supposed to be staying at was just stunning. The cabin was by the lake, surrounded by nature, with just a small village nearby – no noise, no pollution – it was really going to be a great vacation.
When you arrived at your destination, the boys’ car was already vacated, parked in the front, some distance from the cabin.
“Took you long enough!” Lee commented, emerging from the front door after hearing the commotion of your group unloading the car. “Why such a hurry?” asked Ginny, pulling her last bag out of the trunk and stepping aside to make room for you. “Yeah, we had a great time..” added Angelina, already carrying her bags inside, and shrugged at him defiantly.
You made it inside with your heavy luggage and did not hesitate to dump it on the floor right after you entered, to have a look around the place. The layout was quite modern – the front door opened into a great open space, which still had a cosy feeling to it. Complete with a lounge area, a dining table to fit all of you, and an open, yet a bit secluded kitchen. Directly opposite the front door, on the far end of the room was a large, glass sliding door, giving you a preview of the back of the house, where you could see a deck, complete with a furniture set. Looking at all the spaces, you couldn’t help but imagine small moments you could have throughout the following fortnight, what sharing a house with your friends would be like.
Most of your friends were downstairs, you heard their bickering in the background as you debated just taking half of your baggage to then come back for the rest, when George approached you, without you noticing. “Want any help?” he asked, with no tease to his tone, nor any exaggerated kindness – merely, as if giving a helping hand was the simplest thing in the world. “Uhm…” you stammered, knowing well you did - but also thinking, you could do this on your own just fine.
George, evidently bored of waiting for your reply for more than two seconds, grabbed the bags with a scoff and a small smile. “Thank you,” you said, genuinely, signalling you had not lost your ability to speak too.
Walking out the back, onto the deck, you could see Fred by the lake. You took a moment, standing by the bannister – listening to the sounds – the very faint sound of water moved by the gentle wind, soft rustle of tree leaves and the birdsongs, undisturbed by anything. You could smell the grass, the trees, the flowers around, as well as the lake water.
You walked down the wooden steps and through the grass field, to the lake, to have a closer look.
Fred was skipping stones, he turned around for a moment when you walked up and smiled, acknowledging your presence – then continued. You watched him closely – there was something satisfying and soothing about skipping rocks, yet you were never able to do that yourself. No matter how many times it was explained to you, you had barely succeeded a couple of times in your life. You’d prefer to avoid sharing that fact about yourself - so for now, you just enjoyed watching Fred do it.
As he threw another rock, it splashed a bit, startling you. You winced a bit at the sudden contact of the cold water against your exposed legs – Fred snickered at you, and you heard George laugh, as he was approaching from behind.
Seeing him once you turned around, you felt the sudden need to explain yourself. “It’s cold,” you said sheepishly, a bit embarrassed, and followed with a chuckle. George scoffed, grinning. “Don’t give us any ideas,” Fred feign-threatened with a mischievous smile, yet you didn’t understand him. “…or you might end up finding yourself in the water,” George followed, looking you straight in the eye with the same expression. You felt a shiver down your spine.
“You wouldn’t…” you pointed out, wanting to believe that and crossed your arms over your chest. Fred and George knew a boundary. Right? George shrugged, continuing his act as he walked up to you. “We’ve got two whole weeks, love,” he said melodically and squeezed you against his side, way tighter than necessary.
When Angelina, Ginny and Harry came back from a grocery run, they gathered the whole house to take a walk around the area together.
Each step you took was as easy as if it was weightless; soaking up the views around you, you breathed in an immense sense of freedom, unobstructed by anything. You had left all worries, responsibilities and expectations at home. The sounds of the surrounding nature paired with the footsteps of the nine people around you were like music to your ears.
“Look, a tree!” Fred gasped in the most obnoxious way, pointing at one, with many other trees around you. Fred Weasley would never admit to be enjoying himself on a simple walk and he evidently found the tranquillity too boring. You could almost feel Angelina’s eye roll to your side before he spoke again.
“Merlin’s beard, a rock!” he exclaimed with another gasp as he looked to the side of the path, keeping his acting level high. “We get it, Weasley, no need to keep going,” Alicia told him. “No, I don’t think you do,” he replied, and the conversation continued.
You smiled to yourself, realising that the two weeks with all of your favourite fools has officially started and you couldn’t wait to see what it would bring.
—⒉—
The next day you woke up quite early, while your roommate, Alicia was still out in her bed. Walking downstairs, you saw that you weren’t the first one up in the house.
Hermione was strutting around the kitchen in her pyjama and dressing gown, with her hair up a bit messily, most likely making breakfast for herself. Sitting by the kitchen island over a bowl of cereal, was George Weasley.
“Morning,” you said quite cheerfully and Hermione said it back with a smile, while George just lifted the fingers of one of his hands in a lazy greeting. The kitchen was neat, all cleaned up after you all had dinner together last night, in a family-like atmosphere. So you fixed a quick breakfast with a mug of warming tea for yourself, and sat down by the island counter too.
Day two was pretty slow, you could tell everyone was just enjoying being able to do nothing, away from home. After lunch, you sat out on the deck with a coffee, following a game of cards played by the boys. It wasn’t a game you knew before, so you did not join them, but enjoyed watching from the sidelines instead, secretly rooting for whoever was doing the best each round and slowly memorising the rules.
Hermione enjoyed reading outside most of the afternoon, unbothered by anything or anyone – one could feel a bit calmer just by looking at her, in her element. Angelina on the other hand, felt inspired to move her usual workout routine out onto the grass, then hung out inside after a shower. Alicia turned back to her old hobby of drawing – Ginny, energetic by nature, seemed to be everywhere at once.
You had volunteered to prepare dinner for everyone that evening, and so did George Weasley. Happy to not have to do everything by yourself, you wondered how much experience he had in the kitchen, it was something you’ve never talked about – maybe he’d inherited Molly’s skills?
Frankly, you’ve never really had much opportunity to hang out with or even talk to George without anyone else around. It only made you more happy and excited – getting to know your friends more personally being added to the list of this vacation’s benefits.
You found George already in the kitchen, examining the contents of the fridge. During a short conversation to decide what you were going to make, you were able to deduce, he did know his way around the kitchen pretty well - just not Molly’s level quite yet.
It seemed that awkward silence did not exist around George Weasley, though it felt odd having such a simple chat with him – just about what’s been going on recently in your lives, or what you were hoping to do throughout the rest of the stay.
As you finished one step of the recipe, you moved over to stand next to George to help him out. You began to peel some veggies for him to chop, when you noticed the tattoo on the front of his left forearm. It caught your eye because it was similar to yours - well visible on your right forearm, resting next to his above the countertop. You found it quite funny at first.
But then you had a closer look.
Your soulmate tattoo. It had appeared on your 18th birthday, and you were pretty lucky it did. According to folktales, one’s soulmate tattoo would appear on midnight of their birthday – but it was never mentioned which one. Some people found out much later in life, some already married and with kids, having married said soulmate or not, some people would die before theirs would etch into their skin.
Yet yours had appeared. Half a full Moon, cut off with a clean line, facing your palm.
His – half a Sun, cut with a clean line, facing up, towards his elbow.
He noticed that you had stopped working. Out of the corner of his eye, he had noticed the two tattoos as well - and once he followed your gaze, he knew, you’d been staring at them.
Would George Weasley be your soulmate? How could he? - it didn’t make any sense. Sure, you got along fine, but you were both so different. What could he possibly see in a girl like you? Not just appearance-wise, but personality. He was wild, funny, charismatic – a breath of fresh air on a hot, sultry day; a rainbow on the plain sky. In comparison to him, you were boring. You’d never even considered George as anything more than a friend, he was just out of your league.
“…Are they… matching?” he asked very slowly.
It was over now. Once he became aware of the similarity, or rather the correlation, the matter became serious, disallowing you to just put it away, until you’d figured out how you feel about it. Did they?
“I- uh… I dunno…” you muttered, struck dumb. “They have to, they wouldn’t-…” George stammered, thinking way quicker than he was able to speak. “They wouldn’t be that similar if they weren’t supposed to match, would they..?” he noted with some confidence in his voice, only making you all the more nervous.
He took notice of your silence and frown, and waited a few seconds more, hoping to see just a glint of enthusiasm break out on your face - but it didn’t.
“You’re disappointed…” he said quietly, almost as if he was talking to himself. “No,” you denied almost immediately, shocked by his statement. You, disappointed with him? How much you’d give for a guy like George to see you, to really see you. “No, I-… just thought you probably are,” you mumbled quietly, trailing off the sentence, wishing for that conversation to just stop.
George caught on, however, he opened his mouth to speak, to express himself, but he really didn’t know how – your words just puzzled him. Why would you immediately assume he’d be disappointed to have you as his match?
“We should really get on with it, it’s gonna overcook…” you concluded firmly, glancing at the pot on the stove, closing the previous topic. George didn’t feel in place to drag it further since you clearly didn’t wish to talk. But he was really not pleased with how that conversation had gone, and it left him with this uneasy feeling somewhere in his chest, eating away at him.
—⒊—
It seemed as if your mind was permanently clouded now. You kept shifting between obsessively thinking, about what George being your soulmate would mean, and not believing it was true at all. The Sun and the Moon?
But he was right, the tattoos wouldn’t have that much of a correlation if they weren’t a pair. And as you kept going in circles, each time you came to this conclusion, you felt the nervousness start to take over. How were you supposed to act around him now? Because of that, subconsciously and without thinking, you avoided him – just to not have to wonder about what your interactions should look like.
George gave you space, you were glad he didn’t try to corner you, but during dinners you’d feel his glances on you from time to time - as if he was trying to see through you, to find out what was going through your mind.
It’s been two days, spent awkwardly avoiding George with your eyes every time everyone ate together. Two days of trying to appear busy at all times, so that no one would notice that something’s troubling you, and ask about it.
That night you had trouble falling asleep, your distressed mind wasn’t helping you. The air inside felt stuffy, even with the window open. You gave up, for the time being, kicked off your blanket, put on your slippers. The main room was semi-dark illuminated by strong moonlight coming through the large windows. The Moon was full that night.
Upon opening the glass door you welcomed the slight chill on your skin, taking a deep breath of fresh air. You turned around to close the door behind you when a voice spoke to you.
“Hi,” said George softly, sitting to the side on one of the outside sofas. Your heart almost stopped when you noticed him - the one person you tried to avoid, and you knew it was too late to run away. “Hey,” you replied with a defeated smile, wondering if he was aware. He gestured to the seat next to him, smiling at you, almost shyly.
You were glad the only light came from the Moon in the sky because you could feel yourself shaking slightly, as you walked up to him and took the spot. You sat down and looked ahead, fiddling with your fingers in your lap. You could smell his scent, feel his presence right next to you and it felt like too much to bear, too personal.
“Haven’t seen you around much lately…” he began, vaguely, and you could sense what he was thinking. “I wasn’t avoiding you..!” you blurted without thinking, only realising afterwards, that it made it sound exactly as if you were. He hummed shortly, biting his lip with a small frown.
You sighed deeply and said, “I wasn’t avoiding you,” truthfully, making sure to accentuate the last word. Because you weren’t, you were only avoiding your cluelessness which took over you while you were around him. “Oh,” he replied after a second upon working out what you meant, “…okay,” but did not ask further.
“You know, nothing has to change,” he began, and you turned to him to listen intently. “I mean, don’t force anything. We don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with,” he continued, bringing you some comfort, yet simultaneously a bit of confusion – what was the custom when finding out you were soulmates with someone? Did people usually throw themselves at each other immediately, that’s why he was saying that?
“We can take this slow, alright?.. Figuring out this whole- ‘soulmate’ thing.” You nodded, not sure what to say, crossing your arms over your chest as the slight chill of the night started getting to you. George looked at you for a bit, thinking, then lifted his arm gently, inviting you in. You ignored the small voice in the back of your head and scootched closer, allowing yourself to be embraced. For the first time, somewhere in the back of your mind, you welcomed the thought of having him as a soulmate.
You stared up at the Moon and it seemed to be staring back. You just couldn’t decide if it was taunting you – pointing out your silly overthinking, or rather comforting you in a motherly way, feeling partially responsible for binding your fate with the one of the man next to you. Why was it the Moon? The Sun – it fit George. Blinding you, only allowing to be admired from afar, yet never to be looked at directly.
“I’d like you to feel comfortable with me… so, whatever’s troubling you, I’m here,” George said with such sincerity, it sent shivers down your back. “… but no pressure,” he hasted to add with a chuckle.
“Thanks, uhm-…” You wondered, would he want to confide in you? “...Same to you.”
—⒋—
The following day, you woke up lighter in spirit. Knowing you could give yourself the time you needed, gradually lifted off the pressure of figuring out where you were standing.
After breakfast, when your friends were occupied inside or still sleeping, you decided to go out into the backyard. As always, welcomed by the birdsongs, you allowed your eyes to feast upon the views for a moment.
Without much thought, you walked up to the lake and as if it were mandatory, crouched to dip the very tips of your fingers in the water.
You saw the rocks by the edge of the water and stared at them for a moment, debating. Fully prepared to fail, you picked a flat-looking one and got up. You took a deep breath, then swinging your wrist – threw it, and with a loud ‘plonk’ it went down.
You heard a muffled snicker behind your back and you turned around instantly, to see George there. “How does this keep happening?!” you exclaimed, as he walked up to you without being able to hold back his grin. “What do you mean?” “You keep walking up behind me without me noticing..!” you explained, beginning to laugh and he chuckled quietly, shaking his head. “I walked out soon after you because I was bored inside, but I couldn’t help myself when I realised you didn’t see me,” George explained, and you accepted it.
“You need to swing it like this,” he instructed with a demonstration. “I know, that’s what I did,” you replied defensively, certain that all the rocks in the world just had a pact against you, not allowing you to skip them.
“Look,” George said, showing you once again how to do it. His rock skipped so many times, you lost count.
“Now you try and let me see,” he told you, watching you closely. You felt a bit of pressure, but even though you knew you’d fail again, you tried. And the rock sunk.
“Is that okay if I show you?” he asked and you didn’t understand at first, before he made a move to stand behind you with one hand on your shoulder and the other over your hand, but waited until you replied.
“O-okay,” you stammered, so he picked out a rock to hand it to you, then moulded your body into the right posture, to then help you throw the rock. You noticed how tiny your hand was in comparison to his. To your amazement, it skipped a solid 4 times.
Both his hands were on your shoulders when you turned around and smiled, beaming at him, and he thought he could get used to it.
“Do you want to try on your own?” he asked, but you couldn’t get a word out, because you didn’t. He nodded, holding back a smirk, then repeated the whole process, and the throw was successful again.
You did try throwing by yourself after that and it was as if the curse has been lifted. Thanks to George you got the swing of it, with each time it seemed easier and easier, and you did better and better.
In a moment of confidence you joked about having a contest – and George, being George, wouldn’t let you back down. But he’d also let his rocks sink right away from time to time on purpose, to then pretend he didn’t know what happened.
“Thank you,” you said sweetly, on your way back towards the entrance. It was amazing how nice it felt to be taught something, by someone, who didn’t make you feel inferior. “Anytime,” he replied. “But tell anyone about this…” you changed your tone, to feign seriousness for that threat.
“What’re you gonna do to me, huh?”
A certain sense of companionship was formed between you and George from that moment on, some type of feeling, quite hard to describe.
Your relationship was an odd one now. In any other circumstances, the two of you wouldn’t be close enough to really know you could depend on each other, trust each other with anything. But such a simple thing as a possibility, that you could be destined for each other - by fate, or magic, or whatever it was – changed everything.
You also found yourself paying more attention to him – catching yourself pointing out all the small things you liked about him, in your head. Like his soothing voice, or the facial expressions he’d make.
George sat in a chair next to you during dinner that afternoon. Again – previously, you would’ve seen it as a coincidence, but now you knew it wasn’t. Maybe the fact that you had been the first one to sit down and all the other chairs were empty, contributed.
There were moments where it felt like the two of you were sitting in a separate little room, surrounded by invisible walls. Nobody else noticed when George accidentally made a piece of salad fly right onto his shirt, while you stifled a chuckle – earning a light shove to your legs underneath the table. Throughout the whole meal, from time to time you’d hear him mutter jokes or anecdotes about his brothers when they spoke, while more of your stifled chuckles served as a reward for him.
The next day, Friday, it was very warm right from the morning, and it was only getting warmer as the Sun kept rising. By the time everyone was up and breakfasted, the weather was just perfect to enjoy the lake.
Once you walked out the back door in your swimsuit, you felt a bit more self-conscious about being so exposed – more so than usual, not really understanding the reason behind it.
After setting up your towel next to Angelina, you were content to spend some time just lounging there, maybe reading a bit, while the girl went off into the water.
As you followed her with your eyes, your gaze ended up on George, far away from the shore. His hair soaking wet, water dripping down his face with pure happiness written all over it, with his contagious, soul-lifting smile.
You couldn’t help your eyes wandering down a bit – you’ve had a few opportunities to see George shirtless before, you were perfectly aware of how fit he was. Why was he making such an impression on you now, then?
He turned his head all of a sudden, making you freeze as he caught your eye. He sent a cheeky wink in your direction, with a grin, and you quickly dropped your head. Ugh, why have you done that? It was simply the most awkward thing you could do. But what should you have done? Smile? Wink back? Why did this man have to be so forward, making you flustered?
When you looked back up, he was occupied by something else, once again.
The next day, a few of your other friends and some people invited by the boys were to come by for a party that evening. There were a few more of them than you had expected, most you haven’t even seen before.
The party wasn’t concentrated in one part of the house, there were people all over – you spent the majority of the evening out on the deck with your closest friends and a light drink in hand.
Music was blasting from the inside, but you enjoyed your time away from the main crowd. Your housemates were scattered all over, you saw most of them at least for brief moments – the deck was where everyone headed to cool down.
Once it was dark and the chill started setting in, you came back inside. Seeing George with a group of people – who you assumed were his friends – felt odd. For a second, a thought crossed your mind, that you should be spending this time with him. Everything indicated that you were his soulmates, so you should be bonding, should you not? Why was he in the presence of some other girls, then?
But you shook that off – it was irrational. George was his own person who could have his own friends. Hell, you couldn’t even be sure if he was single..! You stopped your brain from going down that path too, grabbing something to drink, and approached some of your other mates.
For the rest of the night, however, you couldn’t help but sneak glances at him. It was natural, he looked so good. How could you not have noticed he was that handsome, throughout all those years? And the outfit he had on didn’t help in keeping your eyes away, either.
What you didn’t notice, though, was that his gaze landed on you, from time to time, too. Not once at the same time as you, not once catching your eye, no matter how badly he wanted to. But you just seemed totally uninterested in him.
—⒌—
The next morning, you left your room in your PJs. You passed by Ginny, sitting in the lounge room with a newspaper, lazily skimming the articles. Going into the kitchen, you noticed George having breakfast there, with some girl sitting next to him, leaning into his personal space a bit.
You tensed a bit, feeling hot all of a sudden. Did she spend the night with him, then? Why else would she be there right now? Most people have left right after the party.
“Morning,” George greeted you with a small smile. You almost smiled back genuinely, but then the girl greeted you as well. She was very pretty. “Hi,” you replied, forcing a polite smile, before you turned your back to them, to prepare your breakfast.
The girl continued her sweet talk, trying to keep up the conversation by asking about his shop. She flirted without any shyness, not caring that they weren’t alone in the room. You envied her in a way, you could never bring that kind of confidence out of yourself.
George didn’t seem interested, though. You supposed she wasn’t his friend, after all, but someone else’s and just taken a fancy in him. But the way she talked did not strike with much intelligence.
You dragged out making your food, not wanting to sit down with them, making the situation feel even more awkward. Luckily, once George finished eating, they both went away somewhere. And you didn’t want to think about her all throughout your breakfast, but it was very hard not to.
“Too bad I didn’t wait with having my breakfast,” George said sliding into the seat next to you, startling you a bit. “Why?” you asked, with a slight tone of confusion. “So that I could have it with you,” he replied cheerfully.
“Bimbo not entertaining enough?” you said, regretting it instantly. “Ooof,” you practically heard his shit-eating grin, not daring to look at him as you bit your tongue.
“Aww, are you jealous?” he asked merrily, leaning on the counter, trying to get you to look at him. “No, I have no reason to be.” “If you say so,” he almost sang, teasingly.
“How did you sleep?” you tried desperately to change the topic. It was only afterwards that you realised you could’ve made it even more awkward if he had slept with that girl. “Alright. Can’t sleep for too long after having a bit to drink, though. How about you?” “Yeah, alright too,” you replied, and had no more ideas as to what to say.
Once again surprising you by doing things not at all out of the ordinary, George invited you to have some tea with him outside.
You set your mug of tea down on the table out on the deck, but you stood there for a bit, with your arms crossed on your chest.
“What is it?” George asked, having already sat down on the sofa. “It’s a bit colder than I thought, with the wind. I think I’m gonna run up quickly and get something more to wear.” “There’s my jumper laying somewhere in the lounge, you can take it if you want,” he offered, surprising you a bit. But you did want to.
“Okay, thanks,” you said, turning to the door. “You can put it on in front of the bimbo,” he said after you with a sly smile, making you shake your head, holding back a grin.
But you did, feeling a bit guilty about this childish behaviour. Just a bit, though – it was satisfying.
It gave you a bit of a boost in confidence – and since you were wearing his jumper already, why shouldn’t you sit down right next to him? That’s when you realised – you felt comfortable around George, inside and out. None of it was awkward – the silence, all the things you did or didn’t say; your morning hair or your oily face you haven’t washed yet after waking up.
“It’s been a week now,” George conversed.
Since you noticed your tattoos? That’s a bit of an exaggeration…
“Since we’ve come here,” he added, noticing your puzzled expression. “Have you enjoyed your stay so far?” “It’s gone by quickly,” you replied, frankly, frowning a bit. You didn’t know where all the days have gone. “Oh, we’ve still got a week,” he tried comforting you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “Yeah, we do…” you replied, deep in thought, leaning more into his side.
The fact that a full week has gone by was worrying you, that the second one would pass just as quickly. What could you do, to use it to its fullest?
You did not have to wait long for an opportunity to present itself.
Overall, since that conversation on the deck on Sunday morning, George and you would hang out more. Just like the previous day, late in the evening, already in your PJs, you sat with him at the dining table playing various Wizarding games.
You were starting to feel tiredness get to you, everyone else in the house had already gone to their rooms for the night, and your laughs were often followed by yawns you tried hard to suppress.
“Let’s go for a walk,” George suggested out of the blue once you finished a game. “What?” you questioned, wondering if he was just joking. “I don’t wanna go to sleep yet, the night’s warm… let’s go for a walk.”
You studied his face for a moment, but he appeared absolutely serious, looking at you back with a small smile. You glanced outside through the great sliding doors, as if to check if it was really dark, despite knowing the time, then at your attire.
“Go get changed, I’ll wait here,” he convinced you.
Once you were out of his sight you ran up to your room as quick and quiet as possible, then changed, careful not to wake your roommate.
You took the path leading out from the cabin to the forest. You had to admit it was exhilarating. George’s spontaneity awoke something in you, the way he just made up his mind in a second and stuck to it. You’d have never think of taking a nightly stroll through the middle of nowhere, you’d be terrified of doing this alone. But the fact that he was walking next to you, and walking so casually, with his hands in his pockets, made all of that feel just as normal as anything else.
The walk woke you up, the comfortable silence broken from time to time by either one of you.
“Are we going somewhere in particular?” you asked, swaying your hands inside the pockets of your unzipped hoodie. “Nah, not really,” George replied indifferently, shrugging. “But- you’ll remember the way back, right?.. I haven’t been paying attention to where we’re going at all,” you said frankly, as you stepped off the path, walking straight through the forest now
George laughed at this, he found it cute, how you followed him into the forest without any care. “What were you paying attention to, then..?” he asked teasingly, giving you a meaningful smile.
“Nope, not getting dragged into- AAH!!” you screamed, scared by a bird suddenly moving around in leaves on the ground. Instinctively you jumped back and half-hid behind George, grabbing onto his arm. He tried his best to hold in a laugh, as you were coming down from the shock.
“You okay?” he asked, reaching out his other arm to you. You hugged him tightly, hiding your face in his chest. “Now I’m just annoyed I got so startled over some stupid leaves,” you complained after a small groan. You allowed yourself to stay in his arms for a bit longer, feeling those negative emotions leave you as if nothing bad could happen to you there. “That’s alright, happens to the best of us,” he comforted you.
As you pulled away, you made a move to hold onto his arm but he took your hand instead, holding onto it firmly.
“Look,” he said softly after you walked a bit further, pointing with his finger, where between the trees you could see water.
In the opening there was a small lake – it had a mysterious feel about it, seemed long unvisited, the boardwalk a bit old, yet sturdy as ever.
You sat down at the end of it together, above the trees was a perfect view of the sky above the valley, sky littered with stars.
“I should make it a point to stargaze more often,” you admitted, in awe of their beauty. George watched you, face illuminated by the moonlight. “I could remind you from time to time,” he offered.
You dropped your gaze, deep in thought once more. All of that wouldn’t stop once you left the cabin – George would still be in your life, out there, in the real world.
“Mhm… you could,” you agreed, dropping your head to the side, leaning it on his shoulder.
—⒍—
“Soulmates?” asked Alicia in a tone of surprise. “… the two of you?” added Ron doubtfully. “What’s that supposed to mean?” George snapped at his younger brother.
You and George talked the same morning about how it was probably the best time to just tell your friends everything. You were getting more suspicious looks from them, whenever you’d hang out late with George, whenever the two of you would have tea out on the deck together, or when George would make some kind of teasing remark to make you laugh. The looks kept getting bolder too, though none of your mates dared to suggest there was something going on between you. That’s how you went to share the revelation with them during dinner one evening, showing them your tattoos too.
“Maybe just that you have nothing in common..?” Ginny suggested boldly, clearly unpleased with the idea for a reason unknown to you. You glanced at the rest of the table quickly – no one else spoke up, but their faces appeared to say that they agreed with Ginny.
“That’s not true…” you said, getting a bit more emotional than you would’ve wanted, more emotional, than you would’ve expected.
It made you angry, though you couldn’t understand why. You got along with George just fine, so how dare they think you have nothing in common?! What right did they have to have an opinion on whether or not the two of you were meant to be?
“If you say so…” Hermione said softly with a small smile, then frowned at Ginny, silently reprimanding her.
Meanwhile, George was looking at you, judging your reaction – as if checking whether you meant what you said, if you weren’t about to agree with Ginny with a hearty laugh, having all that’s happened yet between you go to waste. Unknowingly, you glanced at him too – you locked eyes for a moment and you exchanged nervous smiles through the ripple between you.
And the rest of the dinner went on in silence.
Surprisingly, no animosity was left afterwards – you still felt a bit watched while around George, but now for a different reason. He, however, did not seem to care one bit.
George floated in the water peacefully, making all appearances that he’s simply relaxing, as most of the cabin’s inhabitants were doing at that moment.
But he was wracking his brain, glancing at you every once in a while – he told himself it was boredom, and getting your attention would be the best way to relieve it. It was like some force, drilling inside him constantly, the inability to leave you be when he saw you lying on your towel in a bathing suit. So he was thinking, thinking of a way to poke the ants' nest that was you.
You did not expect a thing – all of a sudden George ran up to you and scooped you in his arms. The feeling could be pleasant, were you not worried about what he had in his mind.
You yelped in surprise. “What’re you doing..?!” you asked, more as a formality, not expecting to receive an actual answer. “I promised you something when we arrived here,” he replied with mischief written all over him.
“No, George..!” you pleaded, hanging onto the back of his neck as he ran in the direction of the lake and onto the boardwalk. “Yes, George..!” he exclaimed, before jumping off, into the water.
Once you surfaced, he was already above the water, along with his shit-eating grin. “Idiot..! What if I drowned?!” you shouted, trying to keep serious, but it was hard to keep yourself from laughing. “Come on, I wouldn’t have let you,” he reassured you, making your heart thump for some reason.
He flashed you another dazzling smile, before swimming off on his back.
“I’m not swimming after you!” you called, before heading out of the lake.
Slight goosebumps appeared on your skin once you were out of the water, but you were not cold. Getting a drink of water, you heard splashing behind your back – signalling someone was coming out of the water.
A pair of footsteps was definitely approaching you, until you felt George’s big hand on your waist, making your skin tingle, as he stood next to you.
“You’re not really upset, are you?” he asked with a small smile, just to make sure, as you took another sip. “No,” you replied, keeping your eyes on the bottle you were closing now.
Then, suddenly, he leaned down and kissed you on the cheek. “Good,” he concluded, before walking off again.
You looked at his back, dumbfounded. He just left you there, puzzled, and weirdly lightheaded.
—⒎—
You looked around the room – the room in which you’ve made a bit of your own space, even though you’ve not spent all that much time in there, throughout all of your stay. The inside was brightly lit up by the sunlight pouring in through the open windows, the light wind swaying the curtains, but you didn’t feel like staying there.
Outside the room, there was nobody, you knew your housemates were somewhere else, in one of the rooms.
The downstairs was peaceful, all the windows along with the back sliding doors open, inviting nature in and calling you to go outside. Going down the steps, you judged it must’ve been late afternoon on a sunny day – the kind of sunlight that does not suffocate with heat but allows you to enjoy the outside and somehow makes everything look more beautiful.
Then you noticed George there, standing by the door – he turned around to face you, smiling right away, making your heart swell. You wanted to run up to him, drown in his arms.
He told you there was no time to lose, you should go outside and enjoy the time you have left, so you gave him your hand and allowed yourself to be pulled outside, through the deck and onto the plain grass by the lake.
You regretted not having spent more of your time admiring those views around – the mountains, the trees and various other plants. Everything was blossoming, despite it being the middle of summer – flowers all around you, on the trees and shrubs, flowers in the grass George was now pulling you onto.
You sat side by side on the grass, holding hands still, and his hand in yours felt like nothing else. The warmth of it – entirely non-physical – was so great, so extraordinary, and it seemed to radiate all throughout your body to your very heart.
And your heart, it felt as if it was about to stop and as if this was the only way it could function now, looking at him. His smile, his happiness felt like the sole fuel that could power your being and in a moment, you knew there was nothing you wouldn’t do, to make that man happy.
He looked at you adoringly, how you wished you’d have at least a fraction of the size in his eyes as he has in yours.
Kiss me. Kiss me. Kiss me. – you repeated, though the words wouldn’t come out of your mouth.
But he’d heard them – shifted closer to you and placing his hands on your waist, rendered you hopeless. With great difficulty, it seemed, you placed yours on his shoulders – and it felt unlike any other similar action, that simple touch made you feel so connected. How you wished to have more, as his lips were coming closer and closer, excruciatingly slow.
Almost there.
“Y/N..” you heard a female voice from behind the same moment as you closed your eyes, but you didn’t pay attention, you were too close now, you had to kiss him.
“Y/N, wake up,” the voice repeated, and everything was gone – the sunshine, the grass, George too.
You groaned in frustration, rolling onto your stomach and hiding your face in your pillow. “What,” you grumbled against the material.
Alicia chuckled, “It’s kinda late, sleepyhead,” she replied, before stepping out of the room.
To say you were confused was an understatement. Frankly, you were annoyed, you just couldn’t be sure at what exactly.
Was it at yourself? At your brain, for making you dream that dream? – Why would you dream about George this way, why would you feel about him that way in a dream, it didn’t make any sense – and it frustrated you, even making you embarrassed a bit. How were you supposed to look him in the eye now? Or was your annoyance the result of the dream ending? Because it felt so wonderful? Because that short, single dream you didn’t even get to experience a kiss in, felt better than any romance you’ve ever had in real life?
Only downstairs, Fred and George were, to avoid boredom, teasing their little brother in a childish game, tossing his wand lazily between themselves. Ron, at first even tried to get it back, but he was losing motivation, thinking they would have to give it back eventually.
“Hey,” you greeted everyone quietly, walking down the steps, headed to the kitchen.
“Aaay, look who’s up!” exclaimed Fred. “Sleeping beauty,” added George, making your cheeks heat up suddenly.
Ron seized his chance, snatching his wand back, to both twins’ dissatisfaction.
It was pretty late, you’ve noticed, glancing at the wall clock – everyone else was already up.
The girls were having coffee at the table. Joining them with your breakfast, you’ve noticed they were chatting about how none of them was ready to leave the vacation to go back to their daily life at home.
“It’s brilliant here,” Ginny admitted with a bit of a pout. “If we could just stay here, life would be great, I mean, look,” she pointed at you with a chuckle, and you showed her your tongue teasingly. “Had such a good sleep?” she asked. “Just great,” you replied with a snort.
Once another slow day was starting for you, you took a bit of time for yourself. After everything that’s been happening those last few days, you needed to let yourself think.
Going over and over your thoughts, as the sun travelled along the sky, you finally allowed yourself to come to conclusions. It was all intense, feeling as if long months have been condensed into a few short days. As if the most important moment got concluded in a single sentence. So what would happen if you’d missed a bit?
At first, George felt a shift. As if something changed in your pace, and now you were always a step ahead of him. Always slipping away.
Until it seemed like a whole earthquake, when he started feeling as if he was a stranger to you. Fully deprived of you.
It was on Friday afternoon, when Fred came up to him outside, wanting to discuss some business matters. Even interaction with Fred seemed unsatisfying to George at that moment, when it felt like a piece of him was missing.
He was humming and nodding in response, tracing fingers over his tattoo absentmindedly.
“Getting the silent treatment, are you?” Fred quipped with a raised brow, giving up his attempts at a serious conversation. “Huh?” George was pulled out of his thoughts. He scoffed, “I guess.” “And what did you do, dear brother of mine?” Fred leaned back in his seat, expecting an amusing confession. Instead, George frowned a bit sadly, “I… I don’t know,” he admitted. “What do you mean ‘you don’t know’,” Fred repeated, “have you tried asking?” he asked dully. “No.” “Why?” he questioned, confused by his brother’s behaviour.
“I don’t… We’re not…” George shook his head. “Do I have any right to? She’s allowed to do what she wants,” he sighed, fiddling with his hands a bit frustratedly. “Soo, what do you have to lose, huh?” Fred asked simply.
George thought for a moment. Reluctantly, he agreed with Fred, admitting to himself that not having asked you sooner was probably stupid of him.
The very same day, before dinner, he tapped you on the shoulder gently. “Can we talk? After dinner, outside?” he asked quietly, not wanting to attract anyone else’s attention. He didn’t fail to notice how you avoided his gaze, hesitating to answer. “Okay,” you finally replied, getting into your seat, disappearing inside your bubble hastily.
It was hard for you to focus on your meal and your appetite was barely there. You pretended to follow everyone’s conversation, sipping from your glass from time to time with a friendly smile.
Your heart was thumping wildly, as you kept glancing at your friends’ plates – judging the time left before the dinner would be considered over.
—⒏—
The Sun was setting, lighting up the sky with pinks and oranges. You could almost look at it – half of it hidden below the line of the horizon, only half visible. It was soothing.
George walked up to the edge and leaned his elbows on the bannister, looking out at the nature all around.
“Did something happen?” he asked, getting the question out rather quickly. “No,” you answered, feeling deep down that it was a lie, as you walked up to him. “Are you okay?” he continued, looking at you this time, almost frustrated. “Yes,” you lied again, trying to sound persuasive.
He sighed quietly, turning away from you again. “You… you’ve been avoiding me again, haven’t you..?” he said, with hurt in his voice.
You felt so selfish at that point. You were thinking about yourself all this time, seeing George as the one who always initiated things, who always strikes up conversations. You didn’t take any time to consider how your distancing yourself would make him feel.
“You’re right, I’m sorry…” “Why? Have I done something?” he questioned again, with his heart-wrenching sincerity. “No..!” you hasted to let him know. He didn’t interrupt again but just stood there, leaning on the wooden bannister, hoping to get an explanation that would soothe his heart.
“You’ve done nothing wrong. In fact, you’ve been great, this whole time,” you began opening your heart to him. “I’ve noticed myself starting to fall for you. That’s when my doubts started coming back to me.”
George’s facial expression was unreadable, showing his pleasure upon hearing about your feelings for him, along with worry about those doubts you’ve been having.
“It’s just that… I still don’t know if we should be so sure, about us being soulmates? I’d love for it to be you, I really do, but what if it’s not?” you paused, allowing that sickly cold feeling to sink in again. “What if we started going out, maybe we could even be happy - but what if 2 years, 5 or 10 years from now, you find your other half of the Sun? What then?!”
“Who cares about stupid Sun?! What if it’s the Moon I want? It’s the Moon that always draws me in. It’s the Moon’s beauty I’m always admiring. It keeps on changing, and each yet each of its phases is just as mesmerising as the other,” he recited, full of emotion, having your eyes well up with tears.
“I care about the Sun. It’s always there, bringing me warmth, comfort, happiness… It’s got better and worse days, sometimes being dimmed by the clouds, but I’m the happiest-“ you paused, having to take a deep breath to keep your tears from falling. “-when it’s shining bright. And my world would be forever dark without it.”
George turned his head away and looked up into the sky, trying to keep himself together. As the Sun set fully, it magnified the silence around you, despite birds, crickets and cicadas in the distance. A single tear fell down your cheek and you wiped it with your hand quickly.
“Well, you know there’s a way to find out,” George stated. It confused you, however, there wasn’t a way you knew of – there was barely any information regarding soulmates, circling around, wizard to wizard. Perhaps if you went to the library and browsed some books on that type of magic, you’d find out more. And if he knew of a way, why has he only mentioning it now?
“You don’t…” he noted. “I thought you did, that’s why I-…” “Well, what is it?” you asked impatiently, as everything indicated he was telling the truth.
George got visibly flustered, something unusual for him. He had trouble getting himself to look you in the eye, even. “The tattoos are supposed to… tingle, or something like that, when… the soulmates kiss for the first time.” “Oh,” you managed to get out, hearing a faint ringing in your ears.
Why did he have to say that? – you thought to yourself. Some first kisses happened suddenly, in the moment, some with a bit of nervousness, after chasing around each other for a while – but this felt pressuring – you wished he would’ve just kissed you first.
But then the real fear struck you – with the real possibility of finding out whether or not you were soulmates, you were scared of it. You were scared of it not being George, as he stood, now in front of you, waiting for anything else from you.
“Say something,” he pleaded in a whisper. “I’m scared. I want it to be you,” you replied, barely audibly, not daring to look him in the eye.
That’s when he bent down a bit, cupping your face in his hands to look into your eyes. You surrendered under his gentle gaze, so dear to your heart. He saw that, reading you like an open book, and leaned in quickly to connect your lips. You jerked away, however, after they barely touched, having felt an incomparable to anything else kind of sensation, right where the other half of your Moon’s circle should be.
“What was that?!” George asked between laughs, party out of relief, partly just seeing you jump around as a giggling mess.
You jumped at him, throwing yourself at his neck, pressing your face into his shoulder. He squeezed you back just as tight, picking you up to twirl you around, eliciting more heartfelt laughs of pure joy out of you, reaching right into the depths of his heart. You both knew now.
“So am I gonna get a real one now?” he asked with hope in his voice. “Mhm,” you hummed happily in reply.
Looking into his eyes once you’d finally allowed yourself to open your heart to him, you felt almost dizzy. You couldn’t help the grin on your face, seeing how he looked at you, placing both his hands on your waist, getting used to having you within his reach, to feeling you underneath his fingertips. His lips were slightly chapped but ever so sweet and loving. He wished this kiss could last forever, but your soaring heart said otherwise. You felt a smile creeping onto your face until you could not fight it anymore, beginning to giggle.
George shook his head gently with a charming smile. Glancing at your forearm, however, he could not believe his eyes.
There, instead of a lonely half a Moon, was his part of the Sun attached to it, creating a whole. He lifted his own arm, to reveal the exact same image.

Nie Huaisang's reaction to the events in quiet room-verse
Chapter 3 of The Quiet Room (ao3 or tumblr pt 1, pt 2)
-
Nie Huaisang’s day began, as always, with noise.
The Unclean Realm was like that – there wasn’t a single shichen of the day when there wasn’t at least some racket going on in the background, whether the sound of sabers whistling through the air and the grunting of men at the thrice-daily trainings on the fields, the din of hammering rising up from the forges alongside the smoke, the squeals and squawks of the various types of animals being harried to and fro, the shouting and haggling and people sounds that filled the bustling markets (both day and night) that had sprung up within the Unclean Realm’s fortress as a wartime tradition some generations back and which had never gone out of fashion.
Guests sometimes complained about it, saying that people walked through the halls at night (what did they think halls were for) or that there were too many birds outside (that didn’t sound like a problem) or the cats were yowling again (okay, the feral cat thing was a bit of a problem but at least they didn’t have a rat problem) or about all the loud noises of living people. Those who were born and raised there scarcely noticed it, and those that stayed acclimated eventually.
Those who really couldn’t handle it built themselves thicker walls.
Nie Huaisang was woken up that day with an especially loud bang that he suspected was something important tipping over somewhere, never a fortuitous start, but the day itself went pleasantly enough after that. He lazed around in the morning, snuck in a belated breakfast from an indulgent kitchen, begged out of saber training in the middle of the day with an excuse so transparent that Nie Zonghui looked like he was considering constructing a window with it, and finally settled quite happily on the balcony with a few of his favorite birds to paint.
It was not, strictly speaking, his balcony – it connected to the sect leader’s suite of rooms, not his own, and his brother used it fairly often when he was flying in and out of the Unclean Realm on business.
Nie Mingjue was currently away at the Cloud Recesses, not on business. Visiting his handsome lover again, and Nie Huaisang found it amusing all over again that his misanthrope of a brother, of all people, had somehow managed to snag the most eligible young master of their generation – that he had what everyone else wanted and couldn’t get.
His brother. Good for him!
Still, his brother being gone meant that the balcony was free, and it was one of Nie Huaisang’s favorite places to lurk: he had an excellent view of so many parts of the Unclean Realm, wonderful light, and no one would dare to intrude on his brother’s domain just to bother him.
It was a good day, bright and noisy in the best of ways, right up until it wasn’t.
Nie Huaisang felt more than saw Baxia approaching, the thrum of his own saber – casually propping up his easel – immediately recognizable, and he couldn’t help but smile in delight at the thought of seeing his brother even if it meant he was probably not getting out of saber practice today.
It was only odd, he thought, that the smear on the horizon that would be his brother approaching seemed larger than usual –
And then, all of a sudden, it was very much not a good day.
His brother was covered in blood, clearly his own, and his eyes were vacant and dull – shock, perhaps? – and he was leaning on Lan Wangji, who looked equally awful. There was fresh blood staining the back of his neck and creeping up his shoulders, ugly shadows on white robes, and his face was stricken, savaged by pain that was not merely external.
Nie Huaisang was frozen for a moment, watching them come, unable to believe it, and yet –
“Doctor!” he screamed, his voice dropping into a register he’d never used before, loud and bellowing and straight from the belly. A battlefield voice, like his brother’s, and he could see out of the corner of his eye all the disciples in the training field jumping, startled, as if they’d been shocked by lightning. “Someone get a doctor!”
The next bit was chaos, of course: the thunder of dozens of feet on stone, servants running to get anyone with medical skill, running to get water and bandages and acupuncture needles, anything that would help, and everyone talking all at the same time even as a dozen hands reached out to pluck the two tired cultivators down from the sky.
Not two, Nie Huaisang corrected himself as he took the small child out of his brother’s arms – said child was yawning and frowning, clearly displeased at being taken away from Nie Mingjue’s arms, and Nie Huaisang couldn’t blame him one bit; it was undoubtedly the best place in the world to be. There was another child in Lan Wangji’s trembling hands as well.
“Any more you’ve got hidden away?” he asked Lan Wangji, drawing him away from the disciples who had eyes only for their sect leader. “Under your clothing, maybe?”
Nie Huaisang would rather be there, with them, with his brother, but he’d studied medicine with about as much fervor as he’d studied any other serious subject – which was to say, none at all – and he knew he wouldn’t be able to do anything to help. For the first time he bitterly regretted his laziness.
Not even during the war had his brother ended up – like this.
“No,” Lan Wangji said. His voice was small and sad, and he was shaking. “Just…just them.”
“Good to know,” Nie Huaisang said. “How badly are you injured? You’re still standing, but I don’t like your color…”
“I want to report,” Lan Wangji said. His lips were pressed tightly together, and he was looking at something in the distance; it was as if he’d lost his soul.
“You’re hurt,” Nie Huaisang said patiently. “Is it anything that can’t wait…?”
“I want to report,” Lan Wangji said again, more insistently, and – well, he was Lan sect. They thrived on rules; it was their baseline, the foundation of their mental world, and whatever had happened to the two of them, Lan Wangji was clearly fragile right now.
“You can report to me,” Nie Huaisang said, a snap decision. “I’m the heir; in my brother’s absence, I have authority to take whatever actions are necessary once I understand the situation.”
And his brother was absent, or as good as: he’d collapsed the second they’d landed, eyes rolling up into his skull – he’d clearly been clinging to consciousness by the barest thread of willpower by the end of it.
“Before anything else, though, is there anything we need to know about my brother’s condition?” he asked. “Anything that will help, or hurt –”
Is it a qi deviation, he wanted to ask but didn’t, couldn’t. It couldn’t be that, it couldn’t, not his brother – not his father, not again –
(His brother’s fingers were bloody, nails broken, as if he’d been tearing at something with them, and Nie Huaisang didn’t like the way they matched up in size to some of the marks on his brother’s face.)
“He needs sound,” Lan Wangji said. “He can’t be left alone…he was in the jingshi.”
“The – wait, the quiet room?” Nie Huaisang gaped at Lan Wangji. “That horrible, awful pit of hell that you crazy people threw into your décor – that jingshi?”
He paused, grimaced. “Uh, no offense –”
“You’re right,” Lan Wangji said, and buried his face into his hands. “You’re right.”
Nie Huaisang did a quick calculation, handed the children off to some servants, and then dragged the other man out of the room and towards his brother’s study.
“Sit,” he commanded, and seated himself in the sect leader’s place unconsciously. “Don’t worry about quiet; after he showed up like that, there’s no way anyone will leave him alone – he’ll be begging for some peace soon enough. Now report.”
Lan Wangji straightened his back – with a wince, Nie Huaisang noted, and that meant whatever injury he had was on his back – and reported.
Nie Huaisang took notes at the beginning, but then stopped after he broke the brush between his fingers, something that had never happened to him before.
“Keep going,” he said when Lan Wangji paused. “Don’t stop.”
Lan Wangji continued his recitation, his voice dull and monotone, but the words…
“Thank you for telling me,” Nie Huaisang squeezed out, feeling strangely light-headed. He stood up and went to the door, catching the first servant he saw. “I want the defensive arrays closed to all visiting cultivators, and all visitor tokens revoked until I say otherwise – especially any from the Jin or Lan sects. Go tell whoever needs to be told to accomplish that.”
The servant stared at him. “Second Young Master –”
“That was not,” Nie Huaisang said, “a request.”
The servant saluted.
“You’re bleeding,” Lan Wangji said.
Nie Huaisang turned his head and frowned at him. “I think you’ll find that you’re the one that’s bleeding.”
“No, you –” He touched his nose.
Nie Huaisang didn’t understand until he echoed the action on his own face and realized his nose was bleeding. A bit strange; he hadn’t suffered from nosebleeds since the time his father died.
He pressed a handkerchief to his face and went back to his brother’s desk. “All right,” he said. “That will get us a bit more time, I think, though they’ll probably waste forever going to get Zonghui’s sign-off on the orders –”
But no, he was wrong – wrong again – because he could see the distant shimmer that was the Unclean Realm’s shielding array flickering into existence in the distance, could hear the sound of drums alerting the common people that they should withdraw back to their homes to avoid the possibility of interfering with a battle.
Perhaps alone of the Great Sects, Qinghe still held regular drills on what to do in the event of an invasion, and even through the thick walls of the study he could hear the casual grumbles of all the people forced to cut their day short – not too much grumbling, of course, since they knew that the Nie sect would send money to each household to compensate them for their trouble as long as they cleared the way fast enough. Doing something like that meant that they would always move, and quickly, too; it was ridiculously expensive, of course, but it meant that the streets would be clear and that no spy or troublemaker would be able to make their way into the Unclean Realm by blending in with the crowd.
It meant that they would be able to see their enemies coming.
“Was that necessary?” Lan Wangji asked. “They will not invade.”
“No?” Nie Huaisang said, and laughed. It hurt his throat. “You’re surer of that than I am. After all, you just told me that my er-ge and san-ge just conspired to murder my da-ge.”
Lan Wangji flinched. “I do not think it was…”
“It might not have been intentional on your brother’s part,” Nie Huaisang conceded. “Meng Yao, though? He was my brother’s deputy; there is no way he didn’t know what my brother thinks about that place. Piece of shit.”
They’d grown distant, Nie Huaisang remembered; his brother, who never abandoned anyone and guarded his people closer than gold, had turned his back on Meng Yao, and had needed to be coaxed back into accepting him. He’d assumed his brother was being petty over something or another, but that was petty of him, short-sighted, thinking only of himself and how much he’d missed his friend.
He resolved to find out exactly what had happened between them as soon as his brother was capable of telling him. He thought that it might be important.
“Your brother, though,” he added. “I always thought he was sincere towards my brother. That he really loved him.”
“He does. I’m sure of it.”
“Well, sincerity doesn’t mean shit,” Nie Huaisang said. “If he didn’t intend on murder, he did something that would have ended up that way. Even accidental killings call for justice, and this is – this isn’t okay, Lan-xiong.”
“I agree.” Lan Wangji closed his eyes. “I have asked Chifeng-zun for permission to stay.”
At first Nie Huaisang was confused – why would Lan Wangji need permission to hang out in the Unclean Realm? – and then he realized Lan Wangji meant for good.
The first thing he thought was oh, wow, that’s going to have some serious political implications and the next thing, somewhat more reasonably, was, I’m really angry about this and so is he.
“You are correct. Even if my brother’s feelings are sincere, it is no excuse,” Lan Wangji said. “In his desire to help your brother, in his refusal to listen to him and trust him, he nearly killed him. He is sect leader; no matter the reason, in the end, all things that happen within the Cloud Recesses are his decision.”
Just like what happend to me.
“We’ll deal with it,” Nie Huaisang promised. Even if his brother might be inclined to forgive after a while, overly generous as he always was with those he loved, he himself would not; Lan Wangji nodded, looking relieved. “Now can we please get you some medical assistance? Thirty-three hits with the discipline whip – I’d be dead. If I were you, I’d be dead. I can’t believe your brother agreed to it.”
Mine never would.
Nie Huaisang had never gotten along with Lan Wangji before, their personalities too distant, but their eyes met and there was a moment of perfect understanding.
He helped Lan Wangji up and let him lean on him as they went towards to the medical room.
When they were most of the way there, Lan Wangji spoke again. “Nie-gongzi…”
“Huaisang, please. Nie Huaisang if you must. If you’re going to be staying here, we can’t be formal with each other. Unclean Realm rule!”
“…Nie Huaisang.”
“Yes?”
“Your brother…”
Nie Huaisang stopped and looked at Lan Wangji, who was struggling for words more than he struggled to step forward. “What about him?”
“He was…once lovers with Lianfeng-zun?”
“What?” Nie Huaisang asked, surprised into a laugh. “No, of course not. He’d never betray er-ge like that; he’s been mad for him ever since they were children. Even if he was the sort of person who would do something like that, which he’s most assuredly not, he’s also not the sort of person who would ever enter into a relationship with a subordinate, and Meng Yao was his subordinate for most of the time they knew each other. They were friends at best.”
He paused, then, the laughter fading quickly. “Why do you ask?”
“Lianfeng-zun told my brother they were.” Lan Wangji was staring dully ahead again, and swallowed hard. “That they’d been lovers before.”
“And what, that their fight was some lover’s tiff?” Lan Wangji’s silence was eloquent. “That’s ridiculous. Why in the world would he concoct such an absurd and pointless lie, so easily disproven? What does it even get him?”
Lan Wangji averted his eyes.
A moment of thought later, and Nie Huaisang had his answer, his spine growing cold.
“Your brother wanted to have them both,” he said, and felt his nails drive into the center of his palms. “He wanted it so much that he didn’t bother questioning it when Meng Yao told him that he was also lovers with my brother, because if my brother was with him, then it wouldn’t be a betrayal for him to be with him, too. He thought…what? That they were some happy triad?”
Lan Wangji nodded.
“My brother doesn’t know.”
Lan Wangji hesitated, but shook his head. “I do not think so.”
“Fuck.”
Nie Huaisang did not want to have to break his brother’s heart all over again.
“Okay,” he said, and closed his eyes tightly for a moment before opening them again. “Okay. Fine. This is – terrible, yes, absolutely but at least it tells us that whatever your brother’s motives, Meng Yao, at minimum, must be malicious.”
Lan Wangji frowned, then followed his thought and nodded. “He deliberately utilized a falsehood to convince my brother to enter into a relationship with him. He may have used others to convince him to trap your brother in the jingshi.”
“Assuming your brother isn’t in on the plan to kill da-ge, and I’m sorry, we really do have to keep that option open. Even Meng Yao…it’s a surprise, you know? He was my brother’s deputy, they got on really well – even though they had their differences, that big fight, it seemed like they were getting over it. They swore brotherhood, and you know how seriously my brother takes that sort of thing.”
Lan Wangji nodded again.
“Also, it’s just – mystifying,” Nie Huaisang continued, slipping easily into the tone of complaint as he shouldered Lan Wangji’s weight again and continued on their way to the doctors’ wing. “Meng Yao’s so smart! Even if he wanted to kill my brother to get your brother all to himself, which he very well might, he’s also been breaking his back to come here on a weekly basis to help my brother, playing him that Clarity song that your brother found –”
“I thought he had stopped that?”
“Well, yes, temporarily, but that’s just because da-ge was getting worried about how bad things were getting and wanted to get things in order…” Nie Huaisang came to a sudden halt once again. “Lan-xiong, I’ve been assuming – we’ve all been assuming – all the while that my brother’s deteriorating health is because of the war, and that the songs er-ge and san-ge were playing for him were helping slow it down. But what if…”
He didn’t want to say it.
“If there was one murder attempt, there may be another,” Lan Wangji said, his voice heavy. “Musical cultivation can harm as well as heal – it is possible.”
Nie Huaisang scrubbed his face with his sleeve. “But…doesn’t that mean your brother has to be part of it? He’s the one who came up with the idea in the first place.”
“He may have originated it, and Lianfeng-zun alterted it without his knowing. Your brother…might not have noticed such a substitution.”
“He’s very nearly tone-deaf,” Nie Huaisang agreed, not without fondness. “It’s amazing he understands human speech, really. It’s possible, I guess.”
“Brother’s involvement is…also possible,” Lan Wangji said, and closed his eyes. “I do not wish to believe it, but – if there truly have been two attempts, and he has not only failed to notice, but is in each one a key part…”
“We’ll work it out,” Nie Huaisang said. “Now come along. We need to get you back into something resembling mobility and health and fast.”
Lan Wangji hesitated, and Nie Huaisang knew why: do you need me better in order to fight against my brother?
“We have disciples for that,” he reminded him. “No, it’s just, you see, I’m terrible with children, and someone is going to need to chase after the two you brought with you – they’ll be laughing and screaming and crying and snotting all over the place before you know it, mark my words, and there goes any chance of getting a decent night’s sleep for the next few years. I’m telling you, Lan-xiong, you have no idea about how children are – they’re going to make so much noise!”
Lan Wangji smiled.
It was such an unusual sight that Nie Huaisang almost forgot to take his next step.
“Yes,” he said, and his words had the feeling of a vow. “They will.”

♡ꜜ lipstick stain﹫jaemin na
she looks so perfect - 5 seconds of summer
pairing : jaemin x reader (f)
genre : smut with little plot, roommate!jaemin, college!au.
warnings : solo masturbation.
word count : +2,5k
synopsis : you leave lip stick stains on your roommate Jaemin’s skin before leaving for the night and he can’t help himself and his hidden feelings. or : “your lipstick stain is a work of art, i got your name tattooed in an arrow heart.”
“Y/N, what are you doing ?”, Jaemin wonders out loud, a small laugh coming out of his lips after taking your expression in. Resting the controller of his PlayStation 4 on his thigh, covered by his light grey sweatpants, your roommate lets his eyes wonder up to you as his game loads on the screen of your shared television. From his spot on the couch of your apartment, he was watching you carefully tap your index on your lower lip, before examining your fingertip with a bit too much curiosity.
“I need to see if my lipstick is going to stay through the night, Jaems.”, you explain like it’s obvious, eyes still on your reflection in the entrance’s mirror. Tapping once again your finger on your bottom lip, you slowly check the makeup you flawlessly applied to your features moments prior. You were going out tonight. Any other night, you would probably go out with your beloved roommate but, you were seeing old high school friends. A reunion organized by teachers you barely kept in contact with and, you unfortunately wouldn’t bring the pink haired man with you. You have to say, you wish you could have him with you. The dress you’re wearing hugs your body, your makeup is flawless if it is not for the said lipstick. You know your presence alone will be able to take some people’s breaths away just like it took your roommate’s. But, having Jaemin with you would’ve sealed the deal. Maybe it was a bit childish, wanting to make people jealous. Can you blame yourself ? You were the first to gush over your roommate’s looks and melt at his sweet and gentleman-like personality. Let’s say he isn’t helping you at all at this very moment, legs spread wide, he isn’t wearing a shirt, abdomen on full display.
“Is that the one you got last week ?”, asks the tallest, eyes quickly going back from his game to your figure. The theme song of The Last of Us Part Two plays in the background, the young man’s eyes get stuck on your exposed neck for a bit too long. Brushing your hair with one hand, you use the other to apply some perfume to the base of your neck. Jaemin has to say, you look good every day of the week, every hour of the day. You look ravishing when you two go out every now and then but, it’s clear you decided to make a lot more today. He couldn’t complain, having a roommate like this but God, he wishes he could come with you at this reunion, make sure everyone understands you’re bound to be his. You hum at his question, unaware of his racing thoughts, remembering the day you dragged him to some makeup store, right after getting your paycheck. Fortunately, he didn’t complain, or maybe you just didn’t listen to his desperate sighs. Regardless, he helped you pick a color, he thought would go well with you after some minutes of thinking in front of the large display.
“Why don’t you just do the thing you do with your hand.”, he asks gesturing to the top of his hand. You and Jaemin decided to live together at the beginning of university and, after some years, he caught on to some things. Like how you had the habit of placing your lips on the back of your hand to check if any product would transfer on your skin. He had a good point, you would. But, you were too lazy to wash your hand after, your nails were freshly painted and you were running late.
“Ugh, I’m too lazy to wash my hand after. We’re also out of tissues.”, you sigh, eyebrows raised. Jaemin was the one who finished the roll and didn’t even think about buying a new one. Looking at the watch adoring your wrist, you quietly smack your lips together, hoping the lipstick wouldn’t leave a mark on the cups and straws at the reunion. You had a…weird hatred for lipstick stains. Jaemin laughs a bit at your antics, leaving his controller on the side. Getting up, he doesn’t hesitate to stand right next to you. Extremely underdressed, he pushes your shoulder with his, checking his own appearance in the mirror. The pink haired man loves annoying you a little bit every now and then.
For a split second, you look over at your friend in the mirror. “We’d look good together”, you think to yourself but, you have to brush the thought away in a flash. See, for the past months, you stopped seeing Jaemin as a friend. And you hated it. You hated how whenever the two of you would cuddle in front of a movie, you’d wish he wouldn’t let go of the embrace to walk to his own, separate room. You started hating the way he’d sing while doing the dishes and while taking a shower. You wanted more and yet, couldn’t see yourself bring the subject up.
“Do it here, we’ll see if it leaves a stain.”, your roommate proposes, taking you out of your thoughts. His finger points at his slightly rounded cheek. Worst thing is, it isn’t the first time that the pink haired allowed you to test your lipsticks on him, he probably knew you were dying to test this one on him too. It happened one time where you were on a rush for work, no tissues or anything else to place your lips on and take the excess product out. Jaemin didn’t mind having a stain as he didn’t have class this morning, he could wash off properly right after and, he gained the guinea pig title. You don’t think twice, grabbing your roommate’s chin between your fingers. Under your touch, Jaemin faces you, angelic face too close to your own. He doesn’t seem to mind either, innocently blinking. There’s a small sigh coming from your lips, one Jaemin doesn’t bring up, like you can’t believe you’re doing this to your crush. You’ve faced it, the growing feeling, blooming butterflies whenever the man would look down at you, whenever he’d smile at one of your jokes. Your lips quickly find his cheek in a loud kiss, a dramatic “mwah” to dedramatize. They trail down without you understanding or processing your actions, placing your lips on his jaw and right under the sharp bone as he willingly tilts his head.
“Oh, that’s a lot...!”, you notice out loud, brushing your actions off, eyebrows furrowed. A mark of your lips was clearly visible of his cheek, another one on the sharp jawline, and the last one in the middle of his neck. Faded, sure, but still clearly visible. “I’m taking it with me, will probably have to do some touch ups, yknow.”, you mumble quickly, grabbing the lipstick before throwing it in your purse. Get out, quick. Jaemin’s eyes are glued on the mirror, not daring to look at you. Pupils blowing a little wider, they expend a bit more at each new stain discovered. His lips are dry, he noticed. Poking his pink tongue out to wet his bottom lip, he slowly parts them, a feeling he knows too well growing in his stomach.
Biting softly on his chest, he nods as he hears you saying something about time and some teacher you’re excited to see. The pink haired doesn’t pay attention, a finger coming to touch the stain on his neck, cheek growing the same color as his locks. Why was he so…turned on by such a simple thing ? Was it the stains, or you ? Probably both ? The marks, proofs of your lips on his skin, he wonders what they’d look like lower, lower. His pants grow tighter, the poor thing has to move to the side and hopefully hide the print on the grey fabric. The heat travels down to his chest, coloring the smooth skin there. His breath gets caught in his throat for a second and he has to clear it to hide the fact, wrapping his wondering hand around his upper arm. It’s aching to wrap around his growing length, release the tension growing, but his line of thoughts gets cut by the loud sound of the front door closing behind him. He didn’t even hear you saying good bye, he doesn’t even know when you’re coming back but all of this, are second thoughts.
His breath grows uneven as he looks around the now empty apartment. When the thought finally registers in this foggy brain, he quickly walks towards his room, the theme song of his game still playing. He doesn’t care to close his door, leaving it slightly open. He can not believe he’s already semi-hard, the young man will never understand the affect you have on him. His mind, his body, it all reacts too quickly to anything you do. From the way you make playlists for his showers and manage to always bend down for the washing machine just at the right moment for him to see by the opened door of the kitchen. Sitting on the edge of his bed, the mattress sinks down under his weight, Jaemin faces the mirror installed right in front of him. Giving him a full view of his body, Jaemin leans back on his hand, his free one wondering on the smooth skin of his chest. With the huge mirror, it was even better. He could clearly see the three marks along his cheek and neck, the last one almost looking like a fading hickey. Oh, how his imagination could wonder so far, so quickly. The young man’s mouth falls slightly agape at how good the color looks on his skin, contrasting with his epiderma. Veiny hand goes down to his bulge, feeling his semi length through the fabric of his pants. His digits wrap around the base, sighing as he teased himself like he knows you’d do too. Lips reddened by his relentless biting, glittering with a coat of saliva, Jaemin’s hand grabs his sheet as the other sneaked beneath the fabric of his sweatpants. Finally giving himself some skin to skin contact he was craving for, though he wishes it was someone else’s. A sigh of relief leaves the pink haired’s lips when he feel his rough hand wrapping around his base, tinted lock falling in front of his dark eyes. His dick feels heavy in his hand, a vein pumping at the side. Ever so slowly, his hand moves up, and down. Drawing the pleasure out, his thumb wipes the small pearl of precum threatening to fall. He uses it for smoother movements, lewd sounds echoing in his room. Mind blurred, focused on the ounce of pleasure he was giving himself, he tilts his head to the side. Jaemin was trying his hardest not to close his eyes, he wanted to see the marks and his skin. He was feeding off of them, letting the most perverted side of his brain make whatever he could up in his daze. A pleased sigh leaves his lips the moment he fully pumps his shaft up and down. They grow faster, pleasure taking over his body, sweat gathering at his hairline and soon enough, he was pushing the hem of his pants down. Entirely exposing himself, his imagination was out of control. He wasn’t picturing his hand, rather yours. Petite compared to his, wrapping around his thick shaft, Jaemin wondered what you’d look like, on your knees in front of him. He knows you’d let your tongue drag up his length just like when you catch a drop of melted ice cream. A grown leaves his lips when he vividly pictures your mouth around him and deep down he knows, he knows you’d beg him to fuck you in front of this very mirror. The sound of skin fills the room, rhythmically. Alongside, his sighs grow deeper and deeper, turning into groans and desperate moans. Jaemin doesn’t care to hide them, all alone in his bedroom. He tries his best to remember the feeling of your lips on his skin, picturing them kissing his neck, down his torso, and his hand pumps faster. Maybe your lipstick would leave a few rings around his shaft, a deep moan coming from his chest at the thought, his eyes screwing shut. “God.”, he whines, his hips bucking against his hand. A gasp leaves his lips as his lips his hips fuck his fist. He pictures you again, seeing you in that dress, how the silky fabric hugs deliciously hugs your body. Wishing he could take it off, he’d probably let the fragile fabric rip under his hands, Jaemin couldn’t help himself when it came to you. He wonders, what does you skin would feel like under his fingers, he knows you’d react in the most hypnotizing way to his teases, he knows he can make you cry his name out if you’d let him. His lip gets caught between his pearly teeth again, drawing blood. The iron taste lingers on his tongue, fighting with the newly made fantasy of your arousal coating his tongue. God, he wishes you didn’t leave, his hand moving faster and faster, chasing his high desperately. “Y/N, fuck.”, it leaves his lips without thinking, he doesn’t care to understand the meaning behind the desperate moan. The blurry image of your body underneath his clouds his mind, made up moans of his name, picturing just how you’d babble because of his cock. God, he wants to hear you moaning, whining, begging. Even better, not being able to form coherent sentence just because of him, coming around his cock because of his, for him. The pink haired loses track as he wonders, getting closer and closer to your climax. His Adam’s apple bobs against the skin of his throat, regular gasp leaving his lips as he mumbles incoherent phrases himself, because of you and, you aren’t even there. He knows he’s about to come, bucking his hips. Letting out a loud moan, his voice cracks towards the end in what sounds like your name, yet again. Jaemin comes in a few short moments, hand never stopping as he milks, giving himself too much pleasure. Zoned out, he pants, a familiar ringing blocking his hearing, some cum on the smooth, slightly red skin of his torso. Jaemin slowly opens his eyes, slightly regaining more coherent thoughts. Chest falling up and down at an irregular pace, he tries to catch his breath as best as he can, a small curse falling from his lip as his strong orgasm fades away. Damp colored hair in front of his eyes, Jaemin tries to comprehend everything, letting his body fall down on his bed. Closing his eyes, his veiny hands half of his face and he doesn’t even bother covering himself. Poor thing only now starts to calm down, hear clearly again. It’s weird, did he turn his game o-.
“Jaemin…? I forgot my wallet.”
His eyes shot open.

A Cup of Truth (S.R)
Type: One-shot, a bit of coffee shop AU
Pairing: Steve Rogers x fem!reader Word Count: 3000
Summary: Your favourite pretty blond comes in every day to get a cup of good ol’ joe. You flirt on occasion; mostly you, because your suit of armour – which people boringly call an apron – and his smiles give you confidence.
When the band of dumb goons picks your damn workplace to attack, your confidence flies out of the window. Well. Good thing that the resident Avenger heroes save the day including the one in his all-American star-spangled glory.
Prompt: “You can’t mask that ass. I’d know it anywhere.” (Bold in the text)
Warnings: hostage situation, violence, non-consensual drug use/injected, hospitals, slightly crack-ish humour (?) and some fluff
A/N: For marvelcapsicle’s challenge. Thank you for letting me participate, darling, may you gain more and more sweet followers in the future ♥
⊱⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊰
Here’s a thing: Steve Rogers had a lot of fight in him. Before or after injected with the serum, no matter his shirt size, no matter if he could swing his fists effectively or not, he would punch bullies in their face.
When it came to people close to his heart, that rule amplified tenfold. No one touched the people he cared for. And while he would not necessarily call all of them friends, he would go rabid should any harm come their way.
To be fair, the list of ‘his people’ who were still alive wasn’t long; he could almost count them on the fingers of one hand. Tony. Natasha. Clint. Thor. Bruce. Probably Fury. Really, his circle was a bit monotonous, people who could protect themselves just fine at most times, but simultaneously with high-risk job of being the first defence line for the world’s greatest threats.
And then there was you.
You, with your inviting smile whenever he appeared at your counter at the café he had discovered during his endless walks.
You, handing him a drink different to his usual ‘boring’ cup of joe once a week, because that was the deal you had offered and Steve, caught in his curiosity about today’s world and your adorable challenging expression, agreed.
You, with your pretty eyes, irises twinkling at his attempts at flirting, no matter how awkward and out-of-time they sounded, graciously returning the favour… if he was reading the situation right.
You, always grinning wide when discovering a doodle he had left on his napkin, taking it with you back to the counter.
You, blissfully unaware of his double life, genuine in your demeanour, dealing with plain old Steve Rogers, and perfectly safe; at least as safe as one could be on Manhattan.
You in a headlock, as five rogue SHIELD agents decided to crash into the café you worked at of all the damn places, choosing it with deadly precision and nearly driving the poor Captain America into a cardiac arrest.
Not that you had any idea your life mattered to the proclaimed Star-Spangled Man more than anyone else’s. You were the exception to the rule; you were the precious outsider Steve caught feelings for, the one that was not supposed to learn about his other persona for at least a while longer and sure as hell was not supposed to get herself in a mess like this one.
Steve stood frozen as Natasha had two men at gunpoint, Clint fighting another, the last one having been already knocked down by Steve himself. The only injured people were the few customers, scarce at the hour, and the employees; some bruises and insignificant bleeding wounds between all of them.
The worst problem still remained; Perez had his arm around your neck, visibly squeezing your windpipe at least partly if the colour of your face – one stained in tears and Steve could kill at the moment, kill with no remorse – was anything to go by.
He gripped his shield tighter, staring the man down with his jaw clenched and his heart beating its way out of his chest, the syringe at your carotid scaring him more than the reduced airflow to your lungs.
“It’s over, Perez! Let her- let the woman go,” Steve howled, knees slightly bend in posture allowing him to spring forward at any second, to throw his weapon, to punch the living daylight of the bastard that not only betrayed SHIELD, but put his hands on you.
Big, big mistake. He really shouldn’t have done that.
“I like her exactly where she is, Cap,” Perez snarled, a wicked smile on his bloody lips, only his eyes giving away a fraction of his fear. “Move and she gets a ticket straight to hell.”
Perez was outnumbered and he knew it; even if he managed to escape, they would find him easily with Tony Stark’s system of surveillance. Yet, he tightened his grip and with you involuntarily acting like a human shield for him, he started backing away, gaze flickering between the three present Avengers.
Natasha’s right arm twitched as if she wanted to shoot him on spot – but she didn’t want to risk leaving the other two without the threat of immediate death for even a second.
And then several things happened at once; Clint knocked his opponent down with the construction of his bow; Perez who saw it lost his nerve and swiftly slammed the needle into your neck, piercing your skin easily, as easily as Steve’s panicked shout ripped from his throat.
The next second, an arrow was sticking from Perez’ shoulder as he jerked back with a cry of pain and Clint put another arrow through his hand, adding one to his thigh for a good measure. Two gunshots sounded in the background, Natasha’s aim as unmistakable as ever.
Perez fell to the ground with a scream, not even reaching for the gun in his holster before Steve was there to knock him out with a brutal hit straight to his face with his vibranium shield. The crack sounding at the impact was like music to Steve’s ears, the blood spurting from Perez’ nose a pleasant visual.
Yet, it didn’t feel half as satisfactory as Steve hoped as you had stumbled and toppled over your own feet. He barely managed to slow down your fall, gloved palm shooting up under the spot between your shoulder blades, his other hand holding your shoulder. He supported your enfeebled weight as you practically lied over the unconscious man.
Steve didn’t bother paying attention to his surroundings, knowing that the noise around him was Romanoff and Barton apprehending the remaining thugs. Instead, his gaze scanned you head to toe, focusing on your face and neck when he couldn’t find any other injury.
You were pale, eyes misted, unfocused, skin worryingly cold to his touch.
“Hey-- hey! Can you hear me?” Steve demanded urgently, lightly patting your cheek.
At that, your pupils zeroed on him, wide with disbelief, and to his immense shock, a lazy smile spread on your lips.
“Steve?” you breathed out his name and blood crystalized in his veins, his heart, already panicking, speeding up. How did you know his name? Perhaps the drug, the whatever liquid in the syringe was taking effect and you were turning delirious? Shit, they needed a doctor-- “You’re the pretty blond. Steve. My flirty Steve… my hero. Everyone’s hero.”
Steve’s horror escalated with each word. Good news: you were still breathing and apparently quite lucid, even if your speech was more of a mumble. Bad news: his secret identity just blew up.
Luckily, he considered the good news much more important; and lucid he would like to keep you, so he shot Natasha and Clint a meaningful glare, wordlessly asking them to call help. He wasn’t sure whether it registered because both of the spies were staring at him wide-eyed as the woman in his arms just outed him like the café’s regular… one that flirted with her, no less.
Steve cleared his throat, focusing on his mission – to keep you talking. There was no much point in denying it, was it?
“Eh... yeah, it’s me. How-how did you know? I wear a mask-“
“Muscly… real muscly… and that ass,” you muttered and Steve nearly choked on his spit, certain that he just turned red all over, including the area you pointed out.
Wait, did that mean that you had been checking him out?
So not important right now.
“Oh, uhm- how are you feeling? We have to-“
“You can’t mask that ass. I’d know it anywhere,” you continued babbling as if you hadn’t heard him and Steve gulped, feeling his teammates, who still hadn’t called a doctor, what the actual hell- watching you with interest. ”…could bounce a penny off it… no, that ain’t right, a quarter off of it, that’s it… Dream of it sometimes… biting-“
Clint coughed loudly to cover his laughter, finally springing into action after that uncomfortable remark that gave Steve quite a visual he wasn’t sure how he felt about just yet.
“Alright, as amusing as this is, we should get her some medical attention…”
Steve only took his eyes off of you for a moment, shooting Barton a look that screamed ‘You think?!’
“I want to touch it… please lemme touch it—just once,” you pleaded quietly, swaying even in your practically horizontal position, straining your neck to catch a glimpse of the object of your interest. “The best I’ve even seen-“
“I think it’s ethanol she got injected with…” Natasha announced, sniffing the syringe with disgust in her voice. “High concentration.”
And Steve felt like he just got hit by Thor’s hammer… in his head. Seriously?
“…alcohol?” he asked, dumbstruck and utterly relieved, the heavy weight in his stomach lifting a bit. “You think she’s merely… drunk?”
“Well, alcohol straight to the bloodstream is seriously nasty on its own, S-“
“Alcohol nasty, yesss. And this really hurts,” your voice interrupted Natasha and Steve’s heart clenched uncomfortably when the surprised grimace appeared on your face, your eyes indeed clouding in pain, looking up at him, doe-eyed, so vulnerable and trusting.
“Hey, no sad Steeb! Your eyes pretty too. Little pictures you draw… so suuuper cute. I like your hair. You came in the day, wind blew, so messy-- like bed hair, wanna try top that-- I betcha I can do better-“
“Sounds drunk enough to you?” Natasha hummed casually and Steve didn’t even have to look at her to know she was smirking, while he was both fretting over your state and blushing to the roots of his hair because of your blunt compliments and unfiltered fantasies.
You turned your head slowly to Nat as she spoke, a crooked grin curling up your lips. “Hey, you’re pretty too-“
Much to Steve’s annoyance, the Russian spy had the audacity to chuckle and wink at you.
“Why thank you-“
“But prefer blonds,” you babbled again, lowering your voice conspiratorially. “He’s real nice. His biceps are like… huge. Bigger than my head-- ow, my head… spi-spinning- I think-? Whoa— oh… “
Steve called out your name in panic as you went limp in his arms, your body pliant, folding like a house of cards.
“I like her,” Clint noted as he jogged to Steve’s side, kneeling to take your pulse on the unharmed carotid with a furrow to his brows. “The medics are on their way, she’ll hold on until then.”
Steve sighed in relief when Clint nodded in affirmation again, feeling your heart still beating.
Steve’s grip on your tightened, hand sliding behind your head to cradle it gently rather than letting it dangle in such unnatural angle. He manoeuvred it so your cheek rested against his chest, his newly free hand sneaking under your knees so he could lift you with ease as he stood up.
“Nice, Rogers. Keep going like this, squads with weights, and you’ll keep that exceptional ass of yours in shape,” Natasha teased him, but when he turned to glare at her, she gave him a soft smile and beckoned towards your nearly motionless body. “She’ll be okay. Let’s go get her some help.”
⊱⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊰
Your head was pounding. The right side of your neck was itchy as hell and felt extremely stiff. The beeping sounding in your ears was a thing from nightmares, echoing in your aching skull.
You felt like shit and honestly, you could cry when you tried to open your eyes and the sharp light hit them, making you swiftly close them again.
A realization slowly crept at you that there was a presence of an intrusive smell too, making you want to puke— or was that just the brutal hangover? Because you felt unbelievably hungover on top of everything. The world seemed to be spinning even behind your closed eyelids and you couldn’t but groan, deciding to only curse the universe mentally since your throat resembled a Sahara Desert.
“Oh, hey gorgeous,” a female voice greeted you from your left and you snapped your eyes open with a startle, staring with shock at the beautiful redhead sitting by your bedside.
For few long seconds, you wondered if you died and went to heaven, because there was a non-descript angelic-like creature watching over you. You quickly brushed that thought aside, because there was no way Heaven looked like a hospital room and provided you with such shitty sensations attacking your poor body.
So you asked the only logical question, ignoring the dryness of your mouth which soon cause you to cough.
“…who are you?”
A plastic cup with a heavenly cold liquid landed in front of you, the straw sticking from it directed to your lips as the stunning woman frowned discontentedly.
“Oh, you don’t remember?” she asked, seemingly hurt. “My heart is breaking! You told me I was pretty.”
You blinked slowly, finally adjusting to the light, finally able to talk without pain (that much pain, that was) and your head started pounding some more, embarrassment filling every fibre of your being.
What the- oh god, you had really got drunk, hadn’t you, and now you had a total blackout on what you had been up to in your questionable state.
“Eeeer… I did? I mean, you are… but-“
“But you prefer blonds, yeah, I know,” the mysterious woman finished your sentence to her liking and your eyes went wide. How did she- and who was she again, sitting in your hospital room like that? Had you really got so smashed that you didn’t remember her when you should have? When had you met? Shit, your mind was so foggy… “And you think Steve’s a bit prettier. And his ass is the best you’ve ever seen, so I get it…”
“The hell?!” you squealed in utter horror, sitting up straight as the words registered, a flash of blue, red and white flickering in the back of your mind, followed by a sharp stung in your temples. A nauseatingly strong pain resembling an intense cramp – only like ten times worse – shot up your neck as you moved so quickly, ripping a startled yelp from your throat.
A hazy image of the café you worked at blended into a picture Steve’s beautiful eyes – did this woman know your regular, your handsome flirty blond regular? –, sensation of gentle hands cradling your jaw, a sting in your neck—
“You need to be careful with how much you move. Your neck took quite a hit, they had to perform a surgery on you, you got a transfusion. They worried about your brain too. They’ve been monitoring you for four days now and this is the first time you’re awake,” your stranger explained patiently, voice full of compassion.
Your hand involuntarily rose to massage the incriminated place, still unsure of what the woman was talking about, the images in your brain confusing the hell out of you. You still had no idea who she was, but her face was starting to feel a bit familiar – you assumed that whatever had happened, she had been there too, possibly helping you.
And there was something in her green eyes, cautious yet somewhat calming, making it easy to trust her for some inexplicable reason.
“Steve’s gonna be pissed at me for missing it,” she added and grinned. “I made him leave to take care of himself before he could actually start taking roots in here. He’s been worried too. A lot.”
The amount of question marks in your head just doubled, but at the same time, your heart fluttered. Steve had visited you? Often, apparently? That was really, really sweet of him. The thought of him guarding you – and didn’t he have a physique of a bodyguard, once mentioning he was in private security when asked –, brought a dreamy smile to your face.
Perhaps it wasn’t only about flirting for him either…?
“Keep looking so lovestruck and I might forgive him that he hasn’t mention you before. Though I guess I can’t blame him, wanting to keep— anyway. I’m Natasha. Nice to meet you,” she extended her hand towards you at last and you automatically accepted it, telling her your name in return.
Even though that was probably beside the point seeing as she had been found at your bedside in a hospital.
“Hi, Natasha. Nice to meet you too… I think.”
The redhead burst out into a quiet laughter at your hesitance. “Fair enough. After Steve comes back and explains what exactly happened – because it’s not quite my place to tell you –, call me back for the good details. It’s fun to make him blush.”
Despite just only having met this woman, you decided that you kinda liked her and nodded in acceptance of her offer. Steve might be sweet – perhaps even sweet on you it seemed – but some harmless teasing could never hurt. Not when it apparently had something to do with his glorious ass.
⊱⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊰
Here’s a thing: Steve Rogers had a lot of fight in him. Before injected with the serum or after, no matter his shirt size, no matter if he could swing his fists effectively or not, he would fight for what mattered.
His teammates and friends certainly fell into the category. The somewhat relationship he had been trying to build with you was right there with them, definitely worth fighting for.
So, after revealing his identity – an action which become inevitable at that point, really – he had a delicate confession to make and a bold question to ask in an almost shy voice. He still asked it, because he would be damned if he gave up on you.
You said yes, your confession about certain harboured feelings matching his.
You said yes, you would like to go out with him very much, because you liked him too.
And no, it wasn’t just because he owned the best backside you had ever seen. Steve Rogers was, according to you, quite memorable and worth fighting for in general too.
(Steve, over time, might have developed a bit of a love-hate relationship with the fact you were getting along with Natasha so well. It was good news and bad news at the same time, seeing as it often resulted in the two of you teaming up against him. Once again, the good news won him over… because he simply loved how easily you fit into his world and how surprisingly well he fit into yours.)

so yeah anyway
he would totally get you the cutest home date ever

he would cook your favorite dish, order your favorite dessert, buy you your favorite flowers, gift you your favorite item of clothing, jewelry or whatever as long as it is your favorite thing
he would give you all the things you like the most because you deserve it and all he needs is you because he loves you the most
help i’m soft for this man
overall a valentine’s day date with shownu will be cosy, loving and full of attention from him to you and you better be giving him some back
Minhyuk :
i could see minhyuk proposing you a variety of activities to do together?
want to draw and paint? let him grab some blank canvas
want to play some music? he got that piano ready for you
whatever you want to do, you name it
your wish is his command
i really think he would like to share a moment with you doing something you two would appreciate
like he could totally suggest you two painting something that represents your relationship
even if you just put some random colors all over the canvas
he would be so happy to have something that you two made
so yeah, basically this man just want to get a memory out of it for him to cherish forever :(
Wonho :
nothing else but cuddles and kisses.
i mean we’re talking about wonho right now????
the most loving ball of fluff out there
he would just want you two to relax on the couch
to put some random romcom as a background noise
and he would just want to give you all the love you deserve
through lots of hugs and small kisses all over your face and your lips
he just loves you so much and wants to shield you from the world with his hugs??? and his arms too but whatever -
he is a softie, even more when it comes to you so get ready to stay stuck on the couch eating sweets cuddled up in his arms for the all day
i’m jealous
Kihyun :
cooking date, period.
i mean come on, chef kihyun?????

get ready to make a full course meal
he would even buy some cute matching aprons for you two to wear -
honestly what’s better than to cool your valentine’s day diner with your lover?
if you’re not that good of a cook kihyun would guide you through the whole process
praising you whenever you would finish a step from the recipe
he would be your number one hype man!
and exactly the same if you’re a great cook
he would just be amazed by your skills
calling you “chef Y/N” and cheer for you
everything you’d cook would be delicious
he would definitively ask you to cook with him again <3
Hyungwon :
okay so i’m sorry to break it to you but this man is lazy
like okay he loves you to death and stuff but just no -
he doesn’t want to go out and honestly he is not even sure if he gets the point of valentine’s day
like why would he have to show you he loves you this specific day?
he’s spontaneous, he doesn’t like to plan things like that ahead because it just doesn’t feel really natural?
but if it is important for you, then it is important for him
he is a simp
still he would do the bare minimum........
staying in and ordering food from your favorite restaurant
catching up on that drama you two always watch together
honestly it would be a rather normal hangout moment but just with a bit more attentions
get ready for some lingering touches, light feathery kisses, delicate hugs, praises and honey coated words
he will do his best for you!!
Jooheon :
so soft?? so much love??
almost too much for you to handle -
he is totally the type to buy you a giant teddy bear
he would go all in with the flowers and chocolate
he would take you out for a walk near that river you like to go
would of course buy snacks and drink for an outdoor lunch if the weather allows it
but who wouldn’t brave the cold for this man -
he would shower you with small attention
playing the songs he heard you hum under the shower
gifting you this shirt you had in your cart the other day
small attentions mean a lot to him
so he would show you how he cares about you
because you’re the person he cares about the most and even if he shows it to you everyday
he puts in extra effort for valentine’s day
please love and protect him at all cost
Changkyun :
he said it himself : he is a romantic
but we all know this man is busy busy with his solo coming up :((
but nothing can stop him from loving you so get ready for a romantic date at his studio :)))
dim lights, soft chill music from his playlist, some wine and a simple yet tasty meal
that’s all he needs
aside from you of course
changkyun would take the opportunity to open up to you during those intimate moments/occasions
he’s a really to himself type of guy that’s why we love him so it will be a way to show you how much he trusts you for him to go more in deep with his feelings and thoughts
get ready for a loving tipsy make out session though -
he doesn’t speak his love a lot but he shows it through his acts so what is better than kissing you with all his heart for it ?
it would probably not go farther than this though
he would just want to have you close
he would kiss you deeply and passionately while whispering sweet nothing in your ear with that deep voice of his ugghh
it would just be really natural? like without any artifice whatsoever
just two humans loving each others
all he needs is you and he just wants you to know it
i’m weak for this man can i please marry him?

Somewhere That’s Green
Pairing: Jack ‘Whiskey’ Daniels/Reader
Word Count: 3,220
Warnings: None
Jack’s always known his girlfriend was big in musical theater. He’s heard her practice, listened to her sing, and driven her to the theater more than once. But this is his first show of hers, and boy is he in for a shock. Between the on-stage kissing and the death of his girlfriend’s character, Jack Daniels has never been so invested in musical theater.
“And you’re sure you’re okay with missing work?” You asked, picking up your coat from Jack’s coat hook. “It’s a long show.”
Jack smiled, grabbing your waist and pulling you close to him. “Darlin’ I wouldn’t miss this show for anything. I’ve been waiting two months to see this play.”
You grinned, kissing him slowly, almost teasing. “Just promise not to murder my costars, okay?”
“And just why would I be murdering your coworkers?” Jack asked, keeping his arm around your waist as he walked you out to the parking lot.
Stepping into the parking lot and following the familiar trail to Jack’s car, you took a breath. “The show gets kinda dark. My character is abused by her sadistic boyfriend.”
“Oh.” You could hear Jack’s jaw tightening, hesitation filling your chest as you thought over inviting him to the show. Again.
“Babe,” you said softly, trying to console him. “If you want, I can introduce you to my co-star Alex who plays the character. He’s a sweetheart, I promise. Wouldn’t hurt a fly and y’know how Stevie is my best friend? Well, Alex is like the cool big brother I never had. He’d never even think about touching me. And he knows I’m totally off limits. Stevie does too.”
“Stevie’s the one who’s playing your nice fictional boyfriend?” Jack asked, opening the Bronco’s door and helping you up.
You laughed. “Yes. Stevie is the one who gets to kiss me on stage and his character isn’t a huge dick. Alex is my first fictional boyfriend, and Stevie and I get together halfway through the show. He gets to kiss me.”
Jack’s eyes darkened behind his sunglasses. “Does Alex kiss you?”
Reaching across the center console, you took Jack’s hand. “No. Alex does not get to kiss me.”
As Jack drove to the theater, you mulled over this decision. Since dating Jack, you’d done three musicals, but this one was your biggest and proudest role, as you’d finally managed to get the female lead in a musical after countless ensemble roles and smaller name characters.
“And what’s the show called again?” Jack asked, squeezing your hand.
You smiled, lifting his hand and pressing lazy kisses into his knuckles. “Little Shop of Horrors.”
Jack hummed, his face scrunching as he thought. “Ain’t that that movie with the crazed talking plant?”
“It was adapted from a musical,” you explained. “And then they redid the movie in the early 2000’s and put it back on Broadway.”
“Ah.” Jack turned to look at you as you pulled up to a red light. “I’m sure you’ll kill it. You got the voice of an angel.”
You smiled to yourself, the fate of your character entirely unknown to Jack. “I know I’ll kill it.”
Upon reaching the theater, you hopped out of the Bronco, looking at Jack. “Wanna meet Alex and Stevie? I think Yvette and Eva are here too, and I know for a fact Amber’s been here for an hour, at least.”
Jack shrugged. “Why not. I’ll go park, you go get your friends.”
You eagerly headed into the theater, practically jogging around as you looked for your costars.
“Eva!” You shouted happily, hugging Eva and seeing Amber around the corner. “Is Yvette here?”
“Nah,” Eva said, gesturing to the empty dressing room she shared with Yvette and Amber. “You know she always gets here at the last damn minute.”
“And she’s somehow always ready to go first,” Stevie said behind you, causing you to laugh and spin around to hug him. “Heya Auds!” He used the nickname he’d given you based on your character, causing you to punch him lightly.
“I want y’all to meet someone,” you said, walking towards the entrance, where you knew Jack was waiting. “Jack’s finally coming to see the show.”
“Ooooo,” Amber said, coming out of the costume closet. “We finally get to meet the mystery man!”
You waved them off, looking around for your final costar. “Where’s Alex? He didn’t call in tonight, did he?”
“Of course not,” Eva scoffed, drawing her coat closer around her. “He doesn’t call in unless he’s like, bleeding out.”
Laughing, you pushed open the door, seeing Jack leaning against the Bronco. “Jack!”
Jack drew closer, smiling and looking at your friends. “Alright. Who’s who?”
You introduced everyone, the chatter flowing easily until someone came up behind you, lifting you off your feet with a happy growl. “There’s my girl!”
“Alex!” You squealed, squirming and laughing. “Alex you absolute fuck! Put me down before Jack murders you!”
Alex put you down, grinning and holding out a hand to a very shocked Jack. “So you’re the mystery man our darling has been swooning over for the past three years. Nice to meet you.”
Jack shook his hand. “Their darling?” He asked you as you stood by his side.
“That’s what they always call the female lead,” you explained, tucking yourself under Jack’s arm. “Alex, Jack has promised not to kill you upon seeing the show, which is a damn relief because I don’t think we can do next year’s show without you.”
“What’s next year's show?” Jack asked, looking at you.
You shrugged. “I heard from the director that they were seriously considering School of Rock.”
Alex whistled. “Auds, that’s been a rumor for years now. They aren’t gonna do it.”
“Okay Dewey,” you said jokingly, reaching out to give Alex a light punch. “You wanna talk about people who were born to play certain roles? Alex is a spitting image of Broadway’s Dewey Finn,” you explained to Jack, who had gotten very lost very fast. “We’re all just waiting.”
“Oh, so you wanna talk about that, huh?” Stevie said, raising an eyebrow. “I swear that voice of yours is identical to Audrey’s.”
You flushed, checking your watch and looking up. “An hour,” you explained, extracting yourself from under Jack’s arm and heading back to the theater’s entrance. “I’ll see you after babe!”
Jack grabbed your hand, kissing you deeply and nipping ever so slightly at your earlobe as he murmured a teasing “break a leg darling,” into your ear.
“I like him,” Alex said, coming up behind you and smiling. “He’s good for you.”
You rolled your eyes, grabbing Alex’s white jacket out of the costume closet and handing it to him. “Go get dressed, dork. We can talk about my boyfriend later.”
Alex shrugged. “Just saying. You have my blessing.”
“I don’t need your blessing!” You called after him, seeing him disappear into his dressing room. “And where’s Jake?”
“Where he always is!”
You sighed, heading to your own dressing room and sitting down, beginning the long yet calming process of caking your face in stage makeup. It took forever and made your face feel heavy, but the results were worth it.
Eventually, by the half hour call, you were ready, having pretty much cemented your hair into beautifully picturesque curls and shimmied into the tight cheetah print dress that barely covered the tops of your thighs. Thank god you were able to wear tights.
You tossed a fluffy cream colored faux fur cropped jacket overtop your dress and adjusted your black heels. With your makeup and your sufficiently warmed up voice, you were entirely ready for the night.
Picking up a picture frame, you gave the glossy photo of Jack a kiss, slipping a worn out penny he’d given you when he’d first heard you did theater into your bra. It was a symbol of luck, and the magic would hopefully continue into tonight.
“Knock knock,” Alex said, knocking on your doorframe. “How’s the princess?”
“Good,” you said, raising your voice to get the perfect breathy innocence that was needed for the role. “How much time?”
Alex checked his watch. “Ten. I think the girls are on stage already, and Jake’s having his fun on the beams. Are you sure you’re ready?”
“Just nervous,” you mumbled, fiddling with the sleeve of your jacket. “I dunno what Jack’ll think.”
“Does he know the ending?”
“No.”
Alex whistled in a breath. “Damn. Ten bucks says he cries.”
You scoffed, slipping past Alex and smiling, your heels clicking on the worn out flooring. “Twenty!”
The opening of the show, as was the rest of it by now, was a familiar chaos to you. The fanfare that signaled the beginning spurred you and Alex to your places, tucked just outside of view but still able to see the show.
The ensemble and the girls rushed past, filling the stage and giving life to the purposefully worn down set. You craned yourself neck, heart swelling when you saw Jack, his hat off, sitting in the front row.
“Front row, fifth seat in, stage left,” you whispered to Alex, who nodded, spotting your boyfriend as well.
Stevie joined you at that moment, grinning as Alex told him where Jack was sitting. “He got a good seat, huh?” He said with a wink, sliding past you to take his place on stage.
As the second song started up, you adjusted yourself, tugging on your dress and asking Alex for help with your mic.
“Break a leg,” he said, watching you rush behind the set to the section that was your fake apartment.
At the cue, you opened the door, slipping out and beginning to sing. It was easy to lose yourself in the role now that everyone else was singing too. Stevie came out, singing his part as you sat weaved in and out of the ensemble members, climbing up a ladder to a fire escape on one of the building fronts. Leaning on the railing, you sang along with Stevie, spotting Jack beyond the stage lights and grinning as you finished out the song.
The next four songs went smoothly. You left the stage after the next one, when Stevie got his first solo song. Standing next to Alex, you checked your phone.
Jack: You’re amazing doll. Love the dress.
You smiled, slipping your phone back into your pocket. Stevie was, as usual, doing great on stage. Everything was running perfectly.
While the songs you weren’t really in ran in the background, you helped prepare the other sets. The apartment set you were about to use was ready to go by the time your first big song was about to start, and you walked back out on stage, reciting lines you’d memorized months ago. As the set turned, revealing the inside of the apartment, you began to sing.
The song was a nice one. Maybe a bit of strain on your voice as you pitched it upwards, but otherwise easy to sing. You poured a certain mournfulness into it, taking your jacket off and hanging it on the coat hook.
Every so often, you’d see Jack out of the corner of your eye, grinning like a lovesick fool at you. When the stage rotated again, showing you leaning out the small balcony, singing about your character’s dreams for a brighter future, you watched Jack carefully. His eyes never left you, winking when he realized you were watching him.
The song ended, the audience clapping as you slipped out, grabbing your coat on the way.
One quick change and bit of makeup adjusting later, you were cycling through another song. Nerves began to bundle in your stomach as the introduction of Alex’s character drew closer. You always drew a few gasps when he roughed you up, but it never made you this nervous.
Thankfully, it was a short scene, as the focus shifted to the introduction. His touch was always professional and careful, never actually harming you. You slipped off stage as his character began his song, settling down on a beat up old couch and loosening your shoes. You didn’t have to be on stage for a while, so you half listened to Alex and half focused on checking your phone. No texts from Jack.
“Hey hon.” Alex flopped onto the couch next to you, shocking you a bit. “C’mon.”
You quickly tighten your shoes, standing and taking Alex’s hand as he tugged you towards the stage for another small scene that you knew would make Jack’s jaw clench.
The scene was, yet again, not harmful. You moved in perfect tandem with Alex so neither of you got hurt, stumbling a bit as you walked off stage after only two minutes.
“You okay?” Alex asked, steadying you and checking your wrists where he’d grabbed you.
“Yep.”
“Everything good up in here?” He asked, knocking gently on your temple.
You smiled. “Haven’t been this nervous about a show in, gosh I don’t even know.”
“You’re doing amazing,” Alex promised, pulling you into a hug. “I’m sure he’d love it even if it all went to shit.”
You nodded, tightly hugging Alex back. “Yeah. He would.”
You two got ready for your final scene together, the one where he ‘hit’ you. The slap had been practiced until it was instinct, until it was a guarantee Alex’s hand would never even touch your face.
Watching the stage and slowly moving behind the set pieces, you bopped a bit to the song, looking up and seeing Jake having the absolute time of his life above your head, singing for the plant.
“Ready?” Alex asked, squeezing your hand.
You nodded, hearing the cue and starting your nervous babbling conversation with a shouting Alex, stumbling through the door and smiling at Stevie. “Hey Seymour! I left my sweater here before.”
Immediately, Alex followed you, still shouting. You couldn’t see Jack’s reaction when he called you a slut, or when he slapped you, your pitiful voice breaking as you and Alex headed off stage.
As soon as you were out of sight, Alex hugged you, murmuring the apology he always gave after that scene and heading off to act his death.
It was a favorite scene of yours, and you watched as Alex ‘died,’ unable to leave the scene until the lights went dark and he hurried off, Stevie taking a bag of fake limbs and grinning to you as the lights rose and he headed back out.
During intermission, you left the couch, allowing the girls to collapse into the frankly disgusting crease. Instead, you curled up in the oddest place that shouldn’t have been comfortable, the antique dentist’s chair from Alex’s scenes.
Which was where he found you, settled into the leather and adjusting your makeup. You were humming along to some music playing out your phone, carefully wiping away your black eye and touching up your foundation. “Good job. You absolutely murdered it.”
Alex smiled. “Thank you. Still nervous?”
“Nah.” You closed your makeup bag, spinning the chair lazily. “No more than usual now.”
You two just hung out, as usual, until the signaling music began to play. You shook yourself out, standing and smiling. “Halfway there!”
Alex laughed and took your place, grabbing a book.
You were significantly more involved in the second act, breezing through the first few songs, feeling an uncomfortable tingle of guilt in your stomach as you and Stevie kissed during the second song. It was an emotional scene that was immediately followed up by a murder. Not your murder. You weren’t set to die until later.
Of course, your next big scene was your death. You ran over the process in your head, just in case. Stevie would throw you into the giant plant puppet, and you’d slide past Jordan, who was the puppeteer inside, and out through a hole so you didn’t have to sit inside the cramped puppet.
However, you had to die first in probably the most heart wrenching scene in the play.
You walked out as Stevie walked in, alone on the stage aside from the plant. Sitting on the couch in your fake apartment, you began to sing, wandering over to the florist’s shop set and talking to Jake, who was still sitting above your head.
And then it all went to shit.
Jordan, inside the puppet, grabbed you with a vine, tugging you close as the song finished out, and you fake struggled as he pretended to eat you, the voice and the body working in perfect tandem as you got deep enough and struggled enough to open a buttoned up tear in your dress, smearing fake blood all over and making it truly seem like you’d been bitten, all without the audience knowing.
Stevie pulled you out, revealing the wound to the audience. He carefully set you down, going through the musical motions as you poured everything you had left into your final few minutes on stage. Your voice broke, the gentleness fading slowly as you did your best to imitate someone who was dying, actually starting to cry with your last line.
When the music swelled, Stevie wiped your tears and lifted you, slowly and gently placing you in the plant puppet and allowing Jordan to grab you and pull you in, helping you down and out the other side. Immediately, Alex helped you up, handing you a change of clothes and a pack of wet wipes. It was easy to remove the blood and toss the stained dress into the wash as soon as it was off. By the time the last plot important song was over, you were completely ready for the finale.
You were unable to spot Jack as you and Alex walked out together, singing one final time for the night and taking your bows. It was a giant group number, everyone happy and very much not dead. Jake came down, singing and throwing an arm over you and over Stevie, dragging you two forward to take the first bow.
Amidst the clapping and the people leaving and the actors heading off stage, you didn’t see Jack until he met you and Alex at the Bronco.
He scooped you up, laughing and firmly kissing you. “Holy shit babe! You couldn’t’ve told me that would happen at the end?”
You laughed, wiping tears off Jack’s face. “Alex! He’s crying!”
“Well fuck.” Alex leaned against the car, smiling. “Guess I owe you.”
Jack put you down, still holding you tight. “Y’all did good. I almost got up to smack you halfway through the show.”
You rolled your eyes, squeezing Jack’s hand. “I’m exhausted.”
“Alright,” Jack said, opening the Bronco’s door and helping you up. “Pleasure to meet you Alex.”
“Same,” Alex said, stepping back. “You be good to our girl, you hear?”
Jack snorted. “I will.”
The drive home was quiet. Now that the adrenaline of the show was gone, you felt limp, every part of your body in pain. Jack, the ever sweet and loving boyfriend, carried you inside, setting you down on the bathroom counter and grabbing your makeup wipes for you.
“Anything else?” He asked once you were done, cuddled up in your favorite pyjamas.
“Well,” you hummed, getting down and heading over to the bed. “I seem to be missing my boyfriend. C’mere.”
Jack, now eager, took his shirt off and crawled into the bed next to you, pulling you close. “You were amazing tonight, truly.”
“Thank you,” you murmured, already falling asleep.
“You’re welcome.” Jack shuffled so you’d be more comfortable, stroking softly up and down your back as you fell asleep properly, safe with the knowledge that Jack’s first musical theater experience had been a good one.

Little Feitan Adventure (ENG)
มีเวอร์ชั่นไทยด้วยน้าาา อยากอ่านคลิ๊กตรงนี้เบยยยย
I have no idea why I dreamt like this. It's so funny and super embarrassing for me. Anyways, if you're ok to read, I would love to share (lol).
Note: It's kind of fantasy story, and I'm not used to these vocab fields + English is not my first language, but let's tryTTwTTb!!
**Copy and Repost are not allowed**
...
Content/ Trigger warning
> BL/ Yaoi (boy love?)
> kidnapping & imprisonment (ลักพาตัว + กักขังหน่วงเหนี่ยว)
> a bit sad for an extra part (ช่วงตอนเสริมมีฉากเศร้าหน่อยๆ)
...
[My own reminder]
It's not like I don't want to draw beautiful arts. I'm just lazy (and it takes hours for one art =_=). Now, I just want to enjoy drawing. That's all. (Well, whatever you call? Happy drawing time...or something like that) (Happiness first >w<b). Believe me I'm sick of putting watermark too, but I hate when my arts are stolen more.
[Background of Little Feitan Series]
The story and the characteristic are not fixed at first, but this is what I found about tiny Feitan based on my drawing.
As you can see, tiny Fei has a calm and peaceful life somewhere in the nature. He lives alone that’s why he is vigilant. There’s also a situation that he sneak in the huge human’s house (Hisoka’s house XD) to steal a food. In this AU, tiny Feitan enjoys eating sweets.
Briefly, tiny Fei is kind of peaceful but vigilant person. Despite his fluffy appearance, he has his naughty side too.
[My dream]
**Note: It’s a dream, so there's something not make sense ok?
The story began when the tiny Fei was dropped to the unfamiliar place. (It’s the parallel world actually, but Feitan isn’t aware about that). He found himself at the huge human’s house, the Ortho siblings’ house. Outside of the place there were people fighting. Tiny Fei was so scared to death not only because of the wired appearances of those people, but also the strange power (nen ability) which he never saw before. (In his world, there is no nen power/ ability)
After being shocked, he tried to escape from this crazy place, determining to find the way back home. Unfortunately, he was found and chased by huge people many times due to some unknown reasons. Although tiny Fei got caught, he managed himself to escape from them finally. Now tiny Fei was at the Meteor City, the land of garbage, he was informed by someone that the way back home was in the tent nearby. Thus, he used his tiny body to pass through the tent. Luckily that there was nobody….
No, there’s someone in the tent!!
*Fei for tiny Feitan
*Feitan for his huge version
Tiny Fei was so shocked to find the huge version of himself so was that Feitan. As soon as he realized the situation, tiny Fei ran and hid himself behind things on the table, thinking that this world is CRAZY!
For Feitan, his role and personality in this world is totally different from the anime. He is not a member of the Phantom troupe or a sadistic guy. He is just a normal person….or may be worse. He is a prisoner captured by the troupe.
Feitan tried to convince tiny Fei for long, showing that he was not a bad guy. Finally, tiny Fei came out. Both of them talked and shared a brief story of why they were here. Somehow they became to trust each other, feeling like an old friend. In the tent, Feitan helped tiny Fei find a gateway (wormhole??) back to his own world. It was small and hid in an unnoticed place; that’s why Feitan was never aware of it before.
Suddenly, Phinks came to the tent with a bad timing. Both Feitans were startled. Tiny Fei hid himself quickly, missing a chance to jump into the hole, while Feitan became awkward to Phinks’s existence. (Their position here is a warder and prisoner). The conversation was a bit tense. Despite Phinks's position and fierce appearance, he seemed to be kind and nice to his prisoner…maybe too nice. Feitan wanted Phinks to leave, but he refused.
Behind a pile of books, tiny Fei sneakily observed the huge Phinks. At first, he thought it would be fine if that was the other version of his best friend, but Feitan sent a signal not to appear in front of the blonde hair guy. Tiny Fei was confused why the other version of him looked so uncomfortable around Phinks. Wasn’t he supposed to be this Feitan’s best friend too?
However, there seemed to have no chance that Phinks would leave the tent. Actually, he came here to flirt with Feitan. The small guy knew about that, but he did not like him. Anyways, that caused problem because tiny Fei could not get close to the hole without being seen from this position. Feitan was also aware of that. There were only two choices which Feitan could do now: convincing Phinks to leave or getting his attention for a while.
The conversation of the guys got worse since Feitan could not convince Phinks to leave and the warder was too stubborn. (and Feitan hated that). With anger or something, Feitan pulled the tall and kissed him! That shocked everyone in the tent (including me as a dream owner lol). Anyways, that created a chance for tiny Fei to jump into the hole and went back to his own world.
However, the fact that the other version of him kissed Phinks scared tiny Fei a lot. He was almost shocked to death again, not even realizing that he was back to his world. His thought was so confused. There was no way he would kiss Phinks! NO WAY!! (but it happened tiny boy, for the other of you XD) (*In the tiny world, they are just friend and have no any special feeling for each other.)
Among those feelings, Feitan heard the voice calling him. It was (tiny) Phinks who looked for him since the morning. Instead of being happy, Feitan vomited somewhere nearby. (maybe due to the gateway crossing too haha). He looked not good after facing many things in the parallel world travelling. Phinks just sat beside, patting his back, and complained Feitan for not coming on the date.
Feitan, somehow, got mad to the other Phinks. Right! Because that guy was so stubborn. If he just left the tent like anybody else in the world, (the other) he didn’t need to kiss! However, Feitan could not do anything to that huge blonde hair guy, so he put his anger on the tiny Phinks instead. (The sweet, calm, & peaceful boy is gone lol)
[Extra] (a bit sad;;-;;)
There is little scene of Phinks and Feitan after the tiny Fei is back. After the kiss, Phinks’s face turned into red. He could not believe of what just happened. However, Feitan didn’t feel that way. He looked kind of sad. “Are you satisfied? Can you leave now?” was what he said before stepping back to keep a distance from Phinks. The fluttering feeling was gone. Phinks realized that Feitan didn’t think the same way as him. With guilt, he left the tent, saying that he would be back to check on Feitan again in a next hour.
...
...
That's all of my 4 hours dream!
OMG why I feel like use lots of energy as if writing a fiction. *tired* Hope you enjoy it('w')b. If you like it please drop the comment below, let me know what do you think about the story!

Arón Piper x Reader
Request by anon: one where the reader is also apart of the Elite cast and the fans suspect that she’s dating aron and it’s confirmed over an IG story accidentally because one of the cast members records them by mistake
Gif is not my own
Requests are open🤍
“We’re just really good friends, nothing more,” You assure the interviewer in front of you, “We’ve been friends since the start of the show and we’ve just had the opportunity to bond ever since then. Arón’s my best friend.”
“Alright, thank you so much for your time (Y/n),” They smile as they dismiss you from the interview and you move onto the next.
Tonight was the season 3 premiere for Élite and you’d never been more excited to celebrate the release. This was your favourite season so far and the show had started to mean a whole lot more to you recently.
“Now I’m joined with (Y/n), tell me your thoughts on your character’s development this season,” The lady interviewer asks you over the loud noise of the waiting fans.
“I think this is where you’ll really see them go through the most progression. I think they’re learning a lot about themselves and learning to be a better person. They don’t always go about that in the right way but I think they’re really trying to navigate everything and trying to understand that they do sometimes need other people in order to do that. I was so excited to bring these storylines to life this season and I’m equally as excited for all of our wonderful fans to see it,” You smile proudly, glancing around at the cast that we’re completing interviews beside you.
“And what about your personal life? Did you draw any inspiration from that?”
“Yeah, certainly,” You nod, “I think mainly in how to use the people around you in such a mutualistic way where you can be there to support them as much as they support you. And becoming aware of those truly good people in your life that will really make a difference,” You’re thinking of one person in particular as you speak and it’s impossible to not smile a little at the thought.
“Now, final question and it was the question all of our fans wanted to know the answer to. Are we seeing an off screen romance between you and your costar Arón?”
You laugh lightly, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Arón is my best friend. He’s my support system and a wonderful guy. But there’s nothing happening between us.”
“Okay folks, thank you for that (Y/n), that was excellent,” The interviewer bids you farewell as you move to greet a few more fans.
As you do, you see Arón just nearing the edge of the line as he makes his way towards the doors of the theatre. You go about signing as much as you can and taking photos with everyone before sending them your love and making your own way towards the doors.
“All done?” Arón is waiting just inside the lobby as you walk in through the outside doors.
Your lips curl into a smile as you see him, “Yep.”
He pushes himself up from the wall and locks a hand with yours, “You look gorgeous tonight.”
“So do you,” You beam, leaning in to kiss his cheek as the two of you head through to the backstage of the theatre.
You’d been dating for almost a year now and had managed to always shut down any rumours that questioned otherwise. Any time you posted a story of the two of you or a photo on your Instagram, rumours spread like wildfire that there was something going on. You always managed to dismiss it or make a jokey post that made things seem like you were just friends and things calmed down. Only to be resurfaced again at the next opportunity.
You joined the rest of the cast backstage so you could all prepare to go on stage before the premiere of episode one where you’d chat a little bit about the upcoming series and thank everyone for being there. Arón leant back against the dressing table and reached out his arms as you walked to stand between his legs and wrap your arms around him.
“How many times did you get asked?” He mumbles, burying his head into your shoulder as he peppers you with kisses.
“almost every interview,” You laugh, “I nearly gave up.”
“Me too,” He comments, “Somebody asked me about being proud of the cast and I didn’t stop talking about you,” He admits it so bashfully, his introverted personality shining through.
“You’re so cute,” You beam, holding his chin to turn him towards you as you kiss him softly.
He hums against your lips and deepens the gesture.
“Fuck! Do you want everyone to find out you’re dating?” Miguel laughs as him and Mina walk into the room.
“Shut up Miguel,” Arón rolls his eyes as you turn around to face them and he keeps his arms around you.
“Seriously, with the way you were looking at each other out there? You weren’t being very secretive,” Miguel jokes, coming over to clasp both of you on the shoulder, “But your secrets always safe with me.”
“We should probably get going right? I think everyone’s seated by now,” You point out, checking the time on your phone.
The screen flashes alive with a photo of Arón you’d taken only a few weeks ago. He was sat on the balcony of your apartment with his ankles crossed and his legs resting on the stone railing around the balcony. He’d been laughing at something you said and you snapped the candid photo before he could blush and cover his expression with a mocking middle finger. He looked stunning.
“Yeah, can’t be late! They’ll be asking a thousand questions more if we’re late,” Omar jokes and jabs Arón in the side.
He hits him back jokingly as all of you check your mics before walking out through to where you’d go on stage. Arón walks with his hand effortlessly locked with yours as the cast all start being introduced to walk on stage. Your name is called and you reluctantly let go of your hand, letting the applause warm your face with a bright smile as you step out.
- - - - - -
The after party was always the most fun part of the premiere, where all of you got to let loose and truly celebrate yourselves and the project more than ever. You made sure to all get a few drinks in and toast to each other, the venue already bustling with people.
“Danna!” You grin as you see her, wrapping her in a long hug, “You look stunning!”
“Ahh thank you so much!” She beams, “Lets get a photo!”
You two pose for a photo together which she instantly posts to her Instagram story. You go to take another as a pair of arms wrap around you and pull you into their chest.
“I missed you,” Arón mumbles into your ear, kissing just below it as he speaks.
“You were gone for five minutes,” You laugh, turning in his arms to face him, “Am I just thay missable?”
He jokingly looks as though he’s pondering the thought before his lips curl into a smile, “Dance with me, you love this song!”
It’s impossible to say no to him as he buries his face in your neck and the two of you sway far too slowly to the upbeat track.
You’re so lost in each other that you don’t hear when Ester starts filming for her Instagram as they all sing along to the music. And you certainly don’t pay attention to the fact that you’re right in the background of the video...
- - - - - -
The next morning, the lasting effects of the alcohol mean it takes you longer than usual to get up at all. You’d had a lazy morning alongside Arón in bed, both of you ignorant to everything else around you. You hadn’t thought too much about how much your phones were buzzing - expecting it to be the typical aftermath of the premiere hype that had caused it.
“Fuck! They don’t want to leave us alone this morning,” Arón grumbles as you bury your head into his chest.
“Ignore it,” You mumble as your phone buzzes another two times and his starts to ring.
“Alright, alright, give me two minute,” He confirms, shuffling out of the bed and reluctantly out of your grip as he stands up to find his phone in his jeans from the night before.
He’s completely naked and still half asleep as he tries to read what had been coming through on his screen.
“What?” He frowns, “Miguel’s just said ‘I promise it wasn’t me’.”
You push yourself to sit up in the bed, tucking the sheet under your shoulders to keep you covered, “What wasn’t him?”
He laughs a little, “Well, fuck.”
“What?” You frown, reaching to grab the phone from him.
“Alright but before you see it,” He holds the phone up high to stop you from grabbing it, “I want you to be sure that this doesn’t change anything. We’ll make it work and we’ll just have to figure out a way of-“
“Arón!” You exclaim, “Let me see the phone!”
He chuckles and hands it over so you can see the video replaying on his screen - the video Ester has taken. With a clear view of you and Arón cosying up in the background.
“Holy shit,” You let out in an exasperated breath, “Everybody’s seen this?”
“Pretty much,” He says with a smirk playing on his lips.
“What do we do?”
“What do you mean?” Arón laughs, “Does this change anything?”
“Well, no. But it’s a lot harder to manage a relationship when you’re in the public eye...”
“Yeah, but we don’t have to share excessive amounts. We’ll continue doing as we are now, just stop lying in interviews now,” He jokes, “They don’t need to know every detail about our relationship just because they’ve seen us together.”
Just like that, he’s said the words suitable for calming your nerves.
“And nobody gets to see us like this, other than us,” He comments as he clambers back Into bed with you, “I think we’ll both just be glad to not have to lie anymore, you’re a terrible liar!”

dumb with love [joe mazzello x reader]
I loST THE FIRST VERSION OF THIS SO I’M SORRY THIS IS LATE. Also, I’m back!! I’m so sorry for that really long hiatus.
I hope this is good. I haven’t written for Joe in such a long time, so he might be a little out of character, and my writing is just really bad and rusty :’)
Hope you enjoy, though! Feel free to drop a like or reblog, idk.
Also!! I obviously don’t know where Joe lives, so don’t attack me for saying he lives in an apartment. This is for the sake of the fic!!
Plot: a misplaced letter sparks what seems to be a friendship (?) between you and the boy next door.
Word Count: 2,800
Warnings: none, except I haven’t reread this or edited (sorry).
---
“Hades, time to go inside,” you mumbled, tugging on the leash lightly.
The goofy schipperke made its way back to you, allowing slack on the leash that held him to you. His nose rubbed against your hand, signalling he was ready to move.
You clutched the coat against you. It was cold for some reason. You had just gotten back from work, and decided to take Hades out for a bit of a long walk.
When you returned to the apartment building, you had decided to check you mail. You knew there wouldn’t be much, but it wouldn’t hurt to check, obviously.
To your surprise, there was more than usual in your mail box. You pulled a small package out and let Hades hold on to it, collecting the rest for yourself. As you walked to your room via elevator, you decided to check through while you weren’t doing anything else.
And, curiously, as you were exiting onto your floor, there seemed to be one letter out of place. It was not addressed to you, but to a certain Joe Mazzello, your neighbor.
Now, you lived at the end of the hall, and Mazzello lived right next to you. Across from you was the cleaning closet. Had you seen your neighbors very much? No, admittedly. Perhaps you had seen him once or twice.
Of course, you weren’t going to keep the mail from him, so, as anyone would, a return would be in order. But, for now, you were going to drop your mail and Hades off.
Oddly, the universe seemed to want to put your plans off a little.
Right next to you you could hear the click of a lock. Turning your head, you realized someone had left the apartment next to you. He was a young man, with auburn hair and hazel eyes. His hair was a little messy, but his aura was casual and friendly. Was he Joe? Most likely.
“Oh,” you said. Oh??? OH? Outstanding conversation starter, [y/n].
“Oh?” the stranger echoed, just realizing your presence next to him.
You cleared your throat, a bit embarrassed.
“Sorry, but are you Joe Mazzello?” you asked.
For some reason, that made him break out into a smile. “Yeah, that’s me!”
Relief washed over you for a moment. “Great! Sorry- does that sound weird? It’s just- I think I got one of your letters by mistake,” you said, stumbling over your words. If you could only choose one moment in your life to facepalm, it would be right at that moment.
“Really? That’s pretty weird,” he, Joe, commented, taking the letter that was presented to him by you.
“Yeah,” you agreed.
This left you in a quiet, awkward position. Neither of you knew how to comfortably continue the conversation. Thankfully, Hades didn’t seem to care, as he got impatient. Whining, he pawed at the door to be let in, dropping the package he was tired of holding.
“Ah, I should probably go. Enjoy your mail,” you coughed, opening your door for your furry friend.
“Definitely. Thanks for returning it!” Joe grinned, finishing locking his door.
“No problem.”
And that seemed like the end of the conversation. Until-
“Wait,” he suddenly said.
You turned back to face him, your hands lingering on the door and entry way. “What’s up?”
“I didn’t get your name,” he murmured, now standing to face you completely.
Something about that gave you a bit of a light and friendly feeling. Almost comfortable, despite being strangers.
“I’m [y/n] [l/n],” you said, reflecting his smile.
“Cool, cool,” he responded. “I’ll see you around then, [y/n],” he beamed.
You hoped that statement to be true when you bid farewell to each other and parted ways.
You just didn’t expect it to be so soon afterward.
The cafe was quiet and peaceful. You were responding to a client’s email on your phone, sipping your drink. In your mind, you had decided to leave and return home in maybe ten minutes. But, once again, the universe seemed to foil your plans again.
“[y/n]?”
The sound of his voice, and your name, of course, made your head shoot up suddenly in its direction. There he was, clad in a dark shirt, jacket, and jeans. In his hand was a cup of what looked like coffee, his other hand stuffed into his pocket.
Shutting off your phone, you suppressed an unusually large smile. He was just your neighbor, no need for a smile so big.
“Joe! Hey, take a seat if you want!” you greeted back. He took the seat across from you gratefully.
The conversation that followed lasted, what? Ten minutes? Thirty minutes? No, it was more like an hour, which was strange for someone like you. You had decided to talk about some mundane things, like the weather and how your guys’ day was. Turned out he had just come back from a meeting. And that had pulled in the topic of jobs.
“What do you do?” he asked, genuinely curious.
“I’m a photographer, actually. What about you?”
“Ooh, I’m an actor.”
Oh, now that really started the conversation. As time passed, you became even more comfortable with each other. He was an actor? Now, how was that not supposed to be interesting?
“Wait, really? Was that what the meeting was for, then?” you asked, a little shocked by his modest answer. He seemed proud, that wasn’t a lie, but in no way was he boasting.
“Yeah! I got to meet all my co-stars, so that was pretty fun,” he answered. “What about you? You said you were sending emails?”
“Yeah, kind of boring, but it was just for an appointment I had just finished. I need to get them all done since I’m going away for a couple of weeks.”
“For what?”
“Just visiting family. Kind of like a reunion,” you replied. In reality, you grandmother was sick, but you didn’t feel like it was too important of a detail. Besides, the pity you get from just that statement was a little tiring.
“I bet your dog, Hades, right? Will have a fun time somewhere new, then!” he beamed.
In return, you gave him a bit of a sad smile. “He would, wouldn’t he? But he’s not coming. Travelling stresses him out, so I’d rather not move him unless it was necessary,” you clicked your tongue. “In fact, I still have to find him a dog sitter. Everyone I know is busy so-”
“I’ll watch him!’ he offered immediately.
That made you pause for a moment. “Are you sure? I mean, he’s no trouble at all, but still-”
“Yeah, I’m sure,” he said, a confident sound in his voice. “We haven’t started filming yet, and the project is still new for us. Besides, he sounds like a pretty fun dog to be around.”
You laughed at that statement. “Yeah, he is. I’m leaving in a few days, but if you change your mind, you can tell me. I can really just hire some random dog sitter near me or something.”
“Nonsense, it’ll be fine!” he reassured you, drawing out the “fine” as if it had a million letters in it.. At that moment, he took a quick look at the time. “Look, i’ll give you my number and we can talk about it, okay?” he offered.
The thought of giving him your number made you feel as if you heart had been filled with clouds. How strange, as you had only met a few weeks before.
“I- okay, sounds good. Thank you again! And here,” you held out your phone to him with an open contact, to which he exchanged his number with you.
And only moments after that, though he insisted he really did not want to end this conversation, he decided it was time for him to head out. The cafe closed early that day, and he had to drop by a friend’s house that day to pick something up. However much you didn’t want to admit it, you wished you could talk with him more, but you also had things to do as well, such as pack, plan, and give attention to Hades.
With that, you bid farewell again and parted ways.
While texting, he made conversation easy, and made everything seem comfortable to you. Now, you had started developing some type of feelings, but there was no way they were real, right? Must’ve been just a little crush that would wear off in about a week or two when you’re away.
You had talked about the details with taking care of Hades, and when the day came to leave, you unfortunately had to say goodbye to your lovely little boy.
“Bye, sweetheart. I’ll be home before you know it,” you cooed, scratching his head as Joe held the door open to bring his stuff in. It was early in the morning for everyone. He was wearing a plain white shirt and what looked like old shorts, looking as though he had just woken up, which he probably did. Your flight was early, but he insisted he was fine with the hours.
Standing up, you looked up at the boy next door once again.
“You sure you’ve gotten everything?” you asked, slightly worried.
“Don’t worry about it, [y/n]. We’ll have fun, okay? Now, you have some too. I’ll send you pictures even,” he reassured you, a lazy smile on his face. He did that a lot, didn’t he? Smile like there was no problem in the world? It was almost like a domestic sight.
“Thanks, Joe. Really, I’ll pay you right when I get home and-”
“Woah, woah, woah. Who said anything about paying?” he snorted. “This is a favor. Now go, you’re gonna miss your flight!”
Taking one last look, you gave him a quick smile, and a kiss to Hades’ forehead before leaving onto the elevator.
While you were away in [y/s], Joe had kept his word. Everyday he had texted you goofy pictures of him and Hades, whether it be with him looking over the counter longingly at a piece of meat Joe was eating, or him bounding across the park with Joe’s cheerful commentary in the background.
And, to make it even better, Joe had started talking to you outside of the topic of Hades. He would strike up conversation every now and then (and even you would, too), or start asking about your day after sending a video of you goof of a dog trying to play hide and seek with Joe.
It was nice, making you feel like he really did care about knowing you, besides talking about your dog and polite conversations. Eventually, a week in, the conversations became anything. Whatever you felt like talking about, you talked about it. Like why Pringles cans were shaped the way they were, why the letter w isn’t ‘double-v’ instead. It made you excited to come back home besides seeing your pup again.
While sitting with your grandmother in the hospital room, you had gotten a message from Joe. As she was still asleep, you decided to open it. It was a simple video, with Hades rolling around the house, to which Joe described as “trying to get his wiggle-waggles out”.
A small laugh left your lips as you watched, responding to Joe within only a few seconds.
Because you were so invested in the conversation, you were surprised to hear your grandmother speak up from her supposed slumber.
“You’ve got a boyfriend now? Why does nobody tell me anything,” she murmured under her breath.
You turned your head to look at her, not realizing your phone screen was visible to the woman’s eyes.
“He’s not my boyfriend. We met only a few weeks ago, grandma. He’s dog-sitting Hades for me,” you explained. How absurd it was for someone to assume you were in a romantic relationship just because he was a guy. However, you’d admit you wouldn’t mind a little romance. But this isn’t what we’re talking about right now.
“Oh, really? Hum. A good connection you have, then, from what I can see.”
“You were reading my messages?”
“I may have terrible hearing, but my reading can go to your screen, young lady. If you’ve known each other for only a few weeks, then it seems like you guys clicked very well,” she murmured. “Besides, seems like a friendly guy. You don’t come by those too often, huh? Especially in my time.”
You smiled fondly at the moment, squeezing the woman’s hand gently. “Ah, I think they’re easier to find now, ma, I think you’d be glad to know. But you can’t really tell that just from seeing one of our conversations,” you commented.
“Or can I?” she asked mischeviously, her face morphing into a sly smile. Her eyes crinkled at the edges, voice filled with humor.
…
Could she? She couldn’t, right?
When you returned home, it was like a weight had been pulled off your chest. You couldn’t believe your flight was done, lugging your suitcases and bags across the sidewalk to your apartment building. Oddly, there stood two familiar figures. Hades and Joe.
“Welcome home!” he said, jogging down the steps with your excited companion. He grabbed a suitcase and bag from your hold. “Decided i’d help you with your stuff,” he explained, his eyes squinting against the bright rays of the sun.
“Aw, that’s really sweet, Joe. Thanks, you really didn’t have to!” you laughed.
“Don’t mention it!” he said teasingly, walking up the steps with you.
Seeing him again had awoken something in you. It made your heart feel high and your intelligence feel low. Something your grandma would say ‘dumb with love’.
You had thought these feelings would go away when you spent time away from him in another state, but you happened to be wrong. You didn’t know whether to be annoyed or glad of this fact.
Finally, after a short conversation about how your trip went, you had arrived at your guys’ floor. Joe took another extra step in help and decided to help you put your things inside your room. It was as if he was finding every excuse to hang out with you as much as he could.
When you finished with the moving, and the conversation seemed to come to an end, you took out a neat wad of cash.
“What’s this for?” he asked, before realizing. “Oh. Oh, no. Are you crazy? I’m not taking that. As I said, it’s a favor.”
“Fine, then take this as a favor,” you challenged sassily.
“You wish, princess,” he joked, laughed at the situation. Before you could process the little nickname, he had pulled out a letter and held it out to you. “Also, I think this is for you,” he said.
What a coincidence. Another misplaced letter, just like the way you two had begun to know each other.
“Really? Weird. Thanks, by the way,” you chuckled, taking the letter from him.
For a fleeting moment, he seemed nervous. How did you pick that feeling up? You weren’t sure. But there was something there between the two of you. This silence wasn’t awkward like the ones before, but nice, actually.
“Well, I should probably head to work. I’ll see you around?” he asked, as if trying to reflect what had happened weeks before.
“Definitely. I’ll look forward to it,” you responded, glee evident in his face when you agreed.
And that was the end of the conversation for that time, with him leaving for work and your heading inside to unpack and catch up on clients.
Later that night, you had realized you hadn’t opened up the misplaced letter Joe had returned to you, yet. Upon further inspection, you realized that… it wasn’t even a proper letter. All it had was your name on it and gibberish as the return address. How strange.
Opening the letter, it read:
Dear [y/n],
This might be embarrassing to say after only knowing each other for a short amount of time, but I really enjoy being around you.
I know I won’t let you pay me for taking care of Hades, but maybe you could let me take you out on a date and we can call it even instead of cash? I’ll pay, don’t worry.
No pressure!
Signed,
Joe
P.S., please let me dog-sit Hades more often- I (really) love him. He’s a good dance partner. And no, I’m not joking.
Enclosed in the envelope were several pictures of Hades playing with Joe and early morning pics that he hadn’t sent to you before. It was like a little bonus, and on the back he had written little notes describing the moment. It was sweet, really.
And so, in response to his letter, it only seemed appropriate that you would respond in the same way, right?
Taking out a paper and pen, you began to write:
Dear Joe Mazzello,
--
Haha don’t hate me, please :)
I didn’t want to write more because I felt that would be too long, but I don’t know if you guys would even want a part two or to make this a series (which would take some time). Let me know your thoughts!

Bringing the Cheer
Summary: When you’re feeling sad, your best friend, Sam, has just the plan to cheer you up. What over the top gesture does he have planned for you this time?
Pairing: Sam Wilson x Reader
Word Count: 1783
Warnings: A lot of fluff, sass, an obsession with bacon, some mentions of sad feelings that Sam chases away, some jokes at Bucky’s expense.
A/N: I’ve been stuck in some writer’s block, so I asked for inspiration, and the amazing @jamielea81 answered the call. She mentioned wanting some Sam best friends fluff, and this fic was born. Also, this is my first time writing for Sam, so I hope I did him justice!
“What’s the story, morning glory?” Sam exclaimed, his voice dripping with an unnecessary amount of cheer as he threw open the curtains covering your window. “Rise and shine! We’ve got some fun to get to.”
You turned towards him, wanting to grumble, but the smell of freshly cooked bacon and eggs immediately changed your tone. “Did you make breakfast?”
“Yeah, I did,” he bragged, smirking down at you triumphantly. “Now, get your ass out of that bed or I’m going to eat it all.”
He was laughing as he turned and walked out the door, and you couldn’t help but laugh in return. You’d been feeling pretty down the past few days, but you’d discovered long ago that you never really could around Sam. As your best friend, he wouldn’t let you wallow in your feelings. He’d plan the silliest things to distract you, and it almost always worked. You wondered what he could possibly have up his sleeve today...
Quickly getting dressed, you felt excitement and anticipation begin to bubble inside you. Still feeling slightly lethargic from sleep, you left the room slowly, but your pace quickened as you neared the compound’s kitchen, following the strong, wafting smell of the food of the gods: bacon.
“Mmm,” you moaned, inhaling deeply at the threshold, your eyes closing in bliss. “Sam Wilson, you are a hero among men.”
He chuckled and flipped a piece of bacon high in the air before using his spatula to gesture at the full plate already waiting for you on the table, the bacon far outnumbering the eggs, just like he knew you liked it. “I think you meant to say devastatingly handsome hero among men,” he teased, looking up to toss you a cocky wink.
A smile pulled at the corners of your mouth, but you didn’t let him see it, deciding instead to tease him a little back. “Oh yeah?” you baited him, picking up a piece of bacon and slowly taking a bite, drawing your response out. “Devastatingly handsome, huh? I didn’t know Steve helped.”
“Ha ha!” he sassed, taking the towel off his shoulder and tossing it at your head.
You ducked, laughing, before plopping down on the barstool and digging into your food. “Where’s everyone else?”
“Training exercises.” He glanced up, wiggling his eyebrows at you. “You don’t want to know what I had to do to get the morning off.”
This time you couldn’t hold back your smile, picturing Sam explaining his excuse to Steve, with Bucky making snide remarks and Nat and Wanda laughing in the background. As one of the team’s leading doctors and technical agents, you generally provided mission support from the compound, so you didn’t need to participate in training exercises, but you knew how hard it was to get out of them. “Sam, you didn’t have to do that.”
“I wanted to,” he insisted, brushing away your concerns with a wave of his hand. “Besides, with Stark in the city, we’ve got the whole place to ourselves for a few hours, which was just the plan.”
You glanced up at him, pausing with a forkful of egg halfway to your mouth and smirking instead. “And, what exactly is this plan?”
“Oh, you’ll see. Now, stop trying to get any hints out of me and eat up! You don’t finish this, Barnes is gonna end up wanting some, and I’ll have to throw a plate at his face or something.
You laughed softly, knowing Sam would do pretty much anything other than admit he was actually starting to like Bucky, so you did what he said and finished up your breakfast.
After the plates were washed and put away, Sam surprised you by coming up behind you and slapping his hands over your eyes. “Sam! What are you doing?”
“It’s a surprise,” he reiterated, emphasizing the last word and turning you to face what you knew was the doorway to the outside. You stumbled slightly against him as he started to walk forward, his hands still over your eyes, but he held you securely against him, guiding your steps.
As you walked, your pulse began to quicken, feeling his solid body beneath yours, and you took a deep breath, trying to will your heart rate back down. Sam was your best friend, but that never stopped the physical reaction that ignited every time he was close to you. What was worse was that the attraction had been steadily growing into something much more than just physical, but you’d never let him know that.
After a few more steps, he stopped, bringing you to a halt along with him. You could feel his chest exhale against your back, and he adjusted his stance slightly, making you feel restless. You were about to say something, but he removed his hands before you could, revealing a giant Slip ‘N Slide stretching across a good portion of the open grass space behind the compound.
Your eyes widened in surprise and glee, and his hands dropped to your shoulders. You could hear the smile in his voice when he spoke next. “Ready for some summer fun?”
“Oh, yes!” you yelled, the freedom in your voice ringing out as you broke out of his hold and away from all of the negativity that had been surrounding you. You rushed to the start of the slide, and you could hear Sam yell out, “Wait, I brought your swimsuit!” But, it was too late, you were already sliding down, belly flopping head first in your t-shirt and jeans.
You screamed, the sound full of joy, as you cascaded down the slide, water spraying in arches above you. Sam followed close behind you, shouting “Geronimo!” before jumping in, joining you on the wet ride. When you made it to the end, the two of you ran back to the beginning, alternating between going down solo and as a pair, hands clasped, having the time of your life.
It took barely even an hour before you were too tired to go on, collapsing on the grass beside the Slip ‘N Slide for a break. Sam grabbed two towels before settling down next to you, resting on his elbows with his legs stretched out in front of him.
You laid down next to him, matching his pose before turning to take in his profile. “Thanks, Sam. I needed this.”
He grinned at you. “Oh, it’s not over yet.” With a knowing wink, he pressed a button on his watch, and, moments later, you heard a whirring sound. In the blink of an eye, a familiar red, triangular-looking drone appeared in front of the both of you, with two refreshing drinks perched on top of it.
“Oh, my, God, you are not using Redwing as your personal bartender! Tony’s gonna kill you!”
“Only if he finds out,” Sam smirked, jumping up to grab the drinks. He handed one to you before sitting back down, cross legged on the grass beside you. “Thank you, Redwing.”
He gave you a pointed look, and you laughed, shaking your head and turning to the drone. “Thank you, Redwing.”
You doubted he could’ve smiled any wider, pressing the button on his watch to send Redwing away. While his attention was diverted, you took the chance to surreptitiously watch him. He was starting to dry off, but his t-shirt still stuck to his chest, highlighting the lines of his muscles underneath. His brown eyes looked even richer in the sunlight, shining above the goatee he’d begun to let grow into a full beard.
“Good thing your watch is waterproof,” you observed out loud, trying to distract yourself from staring at him any longer.
“Yeah,” he laughed, looking down at it absentmindedly. “You know, I should’ve expected you to do this fully clothed. I don’t know why I even bothered bringing the swimsuits.”
“Yeah, you know me,” you joked, but it was only when you caught the look in his eyes that you felt the weight behind your words. “You do know me, Sam. You’re the only person in my life who really does, who would’ve thought of doing this.” You gestured at the yards-long slide covering the yard. “All this, just to cheer me up.”
He scooted closer to you, crouching onto his ankles to kneel in front of you. “I’d do just about anything to cheer you up. I’d even let you watch Cap lap me a few hundred times.”
You chuckled, about to roll your eyes, but the touch of his hand to your cheek had you drawing in a sharp intake of breath instead. His eyes searched yours, silently looking for any signs you wanted him to move away, but what you wanted was just the opposite. “Sam, your friendship is so important to me, and I’ve never wanted to do anything to risk that, so if I’m totally misreading this, just tell me I’m being an idiot, and we’ll never talk about it again, but I...really want to kiss you right now.”
He smiled, soft and slow. “Well, that just makes it easier for me to tell you I really want to kiss you pretty much every damn day.”
His lips were on yours before you could really process the words he was returning to you, but his touch made it clear. It was something you’d craved for so long, and it felt like coming out of the fog, clear and bright. Smiling against him, you linked your arms behind his neck and pulled him closer.
The kiss was lingering and lazy, but you still wanted more, sighing when he pulled away. “So…”
“So,” he echoed casually, running his fingers idly up and down your arm, driving you to distraction. You knew that while he looked unaffected, he was far from it, his breathing still coming out labored and heavy.
“Are we really doing this?”
A split second of panic flashed through his eyes. “Do you still want to?”
You stared at him for a moment, wondering if your friendship was worth risking if this didn’t work out, but, in your heart, you had no doubts. “More than anything.”
His eyes closed, the relief on his face as evident as his grin was wide. “Oh, thank God. I thought you were going to say no, and, for a second there, I was about to fake a heart attack or something just to get out of here.”
“Oh, shut up,” you laughed, pulling him in for another kiss. “Now, come on, let’s figure out a way to camouflage this slide so Bucky slips on it.”
“That’s my girl,” he whooped, jumping up to run back to the house, his hand never leaving yours.

Maternal Grandmother-In-Law
Background: Emmeryn is an American girl who majors in Computer Science at her college. Emmeryn’s mother died giving birth to her, and her father committed suicide straight after, saying in his suicide note that he blamed Emmeryn for her mother’s death, leaving her in the care of her maternal grandmother (who was her mother’s stepmother) who was living in South Korea. Since she was young she was always very introverted, preferring the company of her stuffed animals to other people. She was always very awkward when it came to talking to people anyway, and her grandmother decided for the sake of not embarrassing herself she would keep Emmeryn away from other people if possible. Her grandmother overall neglected Emmeryn, forcing her to raise herself, which she didn’t mind at all, as it gave her more time to do what she liked. Emmeryn had always had a bit of self-loathing, mostly due to her grandmother treating her like a burden and often saying things behind her back about how she doesn’t like some part of her whenever she thought Emmeryn couldn’t hear (when in fact she could). After Emmeryn turned 18 she immediately moved out of her grandmother’s place into a small studio apartment, but it was good enough for her. Since she was quite young Emmeryn had always wanted to make video games, and so decided to study Computer Science in college to do so. She chose to do online school to avoid interacting with people.
In her 3rd year of college (she was 21 at that point) she discovered her father’s suicide note when visiting her grandmother, and her self-loathing skyrocketed immediately (remember, her father said he blamed Emmeryn for her mother’s death and hated her. Also, at that point, Emmeryn didn’t know her mother died in childbirth, and that only intensified her self-loathing
). She ended up barely leaving her apartment anymore except for work and to buy things from the store.
Emmeryn is a girl who doesn’t particularly like being around people. She hates the world and most people in it and prefers video game characters instead because in her mind “They can never hurt you” and that they’re “Better than real-life people”. She could be called lazy because she seems so carefree when in reality she works really hard in college and has straight As. she often comes off as apathetic and distant, but when she cares about someone, she is fiercely protective of them and cares for them deeply. However, due to her self-loathing, she’s often very self-deprecating and some people find that annoying. She’s also a bit insecure about her height as she’s taller than most women and many people just don’t like tall women, including her grandmother, who is shorter than her. Emmeryn overall prefers to stick to her little world in her room where she can pretend the outside world doesn’t exist. However, inside, she’s one big catastrophe away from pulling the trigger.
It’s probably an understatement to say she has moderately severe depression, as well as insomnia (the insomnia is caused by her often stays up extremely late studying and or playing video games.)
Trivia:
Emmeryn has dark brown hair and amber eyes. Emmeryn has literally no friends, seriously. She even avoids talking to people online. Emmeryn got into drawing and writing as part of her want to make video games one day. Emmeryn had one friend when she was younger who didn’t judge or care about any of the flaws which she hates, however, they themselves had severe depression and committed suicide when she was 15, heavily affecting her mental health for years to come. Emmeryn knows both English and Korean. Emmeryn doesn’t actually know that much about Korean culture despite living in South Korea, and so has a desire to learn more about it as she is fascinated by it. Emmeryn met Rika once before by bumping into her at a grocery store, but they never met again afterward as Emmeryn quickly ran away from her because of her default reflex to run away from everyone she encounters outside of work. — Submission
I match you with...
Yoosung!
You’re the kind of person that tends to get a little... unsure of yourself. You have a hard time listening to your own own because every time you find the use of it, someone is speaking over you and making you feel bad for existing. That’s not a right thing for anyone to do to anyone. It’s exhausting and it hurts, but you have ways to cope with what’s bothering you. With that in mind, you need someone who sees you for you and puts you first. I think it would be sweet for you to learn your boundaries and trials with someone who knows that feeling, and Yoosung is the one for you.
He would know what it feels like to be... unsure and at blame for what’s not really one’s fault. So, I imagine the two of you are the types to sit together and play games as well as talk about what may be bothering you. It’s just easy to talk to him and you don’t have to worry about him being too much for you. He’s just the right amount of sweet and forward. He wants to hold your hand and let you know how great he thinks you are.
Yoosung knows what she deals with, if not to the same extent. Being with someone who understands him helps justify and work on himself, you know? Get ready to slowly but surely get out of the house to enjoy yourself much, he wants to take you out and show you that you have a right to have fun, too.
