VERY IMPORTANT™ TOWER OF MISTAKES UPDATE

And I'm pleased to announce that

THE HIATUS IS OVER!!! (mostly)

So, it's been kind of long since we got the last update, hasn't it? Well, you don't have to continue waiting so much anymore! I've got ideas, motivation and a remake release date!

First, lemme tell you what I've been doing meanwhile.

As many of you know there's a Samurai Jack AU comic on the works as well (Paws of Magic), I've been cooking with my 2 teammates and we're making sure to cook something great! ✨ Then, I heard about this "artfight" thing around tumblr, I checked it out and decided to join! It surely helped me improve my style and my ways of organizing works and schedules.

Now that I'm "free" (back at uni lol. no big deal tho), I can work on things like paws of magic and ofc, the tower of mistakes remake.

I've got some ToM updates:

The hiatus is gonna be over in less of a month. That is

September 6, 2024!

This way the remake's release date matches the original's and the fact that it matches my birthday (I had a feeling ToM could get important so decided to start it on my bday lol, I was kinda right wasn't it? omggg)

The art style gets some REAL changes!

I'm no longer going to use a sketchbook to draw the lineart and then color it digitally. The comic will now be 100% digital! Which means the page formatting and style will get an improvement boost!

I used to upload the pages every time I finished one, which led to rushing, hiatus and burnout. I'm not doing that anymore. I'll be working on a bunch of pages/a full chapter beforehand, then batch upload them from each chapter's release date to the last of its pages, 1 page a day. This way you guys don't get extremely long waits and I don't get extreme burnout 😭

So, these are the updates for Tower of Mistakes!

As for the rest of blog, I'll be drawing the ToM pages, doodling random stuff and working on Paws of Magic as well!

Mirei and Tomari Original Series Verse Details!

Much like in her main verse, Mirei is the heiress to the Minae family and the leader of Team Daybreak. However, unlike in her home universe, Team Daybreak’s origins are different. Daybreak itself is a chain of different card shops, which have been slowly gaining more locations and influence over the years as they’ve bought out failing business or started new ones from scratch. The entire thing started as a passion project for Mirei after the supposed ‘death’ of her older brother, who loved Vanguard as much as she did and was the closest person to her in the entire world. 

Daybreak was meant to honor Nadatsugu, and be a way Mirei could make him proud by spreading the game the two used as a way for them to battle on equal ground and escape from the harsh troubles of a strict and sheltered life. His ‘death’ impacted her hard, and she uses the Daybreak project as a way to not only once again escape the troubles of being heiress, but also in a way try to connect to him. 

Similar to Asteroid/Foo Fighter, Daybreak has several different teams from it’s various different card shops that compete at regional and national tournaments, with Team Daybreak lead by Mirei being their main flagship. One might say that along with Team Caesar and Team Q4, Team Daybreak are some of their main adversaries. 

Mirei uses a Kagero deck, focused on her main unit Sealed Blazed Maiden, Bavsargra, who in this universe is a card that is apart of the Seal Dragon archetype. She uses stickers to differentiate which cards she is holding, while having Haruka often act as her support during Cardfights.

Much like in her main verse, Tomari is a police officer by day and a passionate Cardfighter and announcer by night, being a member of Team Blackout. In this universe, Blackout is most similar to the group of underground Cardfighters led by Jin (who probably they butt heads with a lot thanks to Tomari’s day job), but they don’t cheat at the rules or commit illegal acts. No, they are simply a group of unique individuals who come together on the evenings to play Vanguard in a broken down amusement park named Wonder Hill. They are lead by Danji Momoyama, a well-known rouge player and user of Spike Brothers. 

Team Blackout members do not choose to compete in national or regional tournaments, making them mysterious players who are only talked about in the most obscure of circles. They don’t have a Cardshop for one thing to represent them, but they also prefer to just do things their own way. They get enough competition between themselves or from strong Cardfighers who seek to face strong unranked players.

Tomari herself uses the Dimension Police, specifically the Aurora Battle Princess archetype who in this universe ‘imprison’ cards in the sense of binding them through the skills directly and at the start of the opponents turn, they can pay a certain cost to get those units back from the bind zone or leave them bound for good. Her main card is still Aurora Battle Princess, Seraph Snow.

okay major thoughts instead of sleeping like. a) the first tanta had 7 buddies she worked with to fight back "a great evil" and we know that she put sussy away originally into the labyrinths. so presumably, the evil was sussy. b) there are only four mentions of those buddies in the archives from the labyrinths - are the other 3 from rheddah??? that would seem to make sense, afterall the dlc did reveal that there are tanta over there so maybe? c) i think i ship auden n frey now i think theyre cute together they have an intriguing dynamic n it would b cool to see that play out and d) i forgot to have dinner. its 2am. 😭

Even though they're in different companies and they are meant to keep kinda compete against each other (MT.Trio and star sanses and basically everyone lol), but in the end they are just chill irl.

Lemme list their relationship(and personality ig, just around SS and MTT):

•Killer is in good terms with the SS✨ (and almost everyone tbh) and Dream is kinda who he looks up to as a senior (he doesnt wanna admit it) Hes a total extrovert and a smooth talker, and sometimes flirt without even knowing, which made ppl who he's just met quite uncomfortable :")

•Everyone gets along with Horror (bby boi deserves the best <333) he's kinda more of a quiet type and likes to listen. He's very good in making people's comfortable around him, maybe thats his charm :)) he's smart and observing, understand the situation and what to do, and always there for his bros with a big smile<3

•Dust isnt really close with any of the SS, but he doesnt mind interacting with them when needed. Hes very introverted and gets annoyed of Ink and Killer's overload of energy sometimes, but watching them commit menace is one of his amusements. Dust is close with Horror, they talk often and sometimes have serious talks, Dust and Horror are bestie bros.
