Skeleton Crew First Impressions
So far, so good.
(Rest under the cut for spoilers)
The opening scene is a blatant callback to the start of A New Hope but I don’t say that with any malice. It was really well done! A clear *nudge, nudge, wink, wink* but not to the point of sacrificing this new story for gaudy nostalgia sake. It didn’t follow it beat for beat either, which made the parallels more interesting and left us to enjoy the new stuff.
Others have said it and I agree: this is a Star Wars show that’s actually for kids (without being a totally watered down, candy-coloured creation). It’s styled like a classic kids movie, there’s way less gore and suggestive stuff, and what is there is handled appropriately with the target audience in mind. Kudos to the creators.
It is so cool to see suburbia in Star Wars. So much of the scenery feels like places you’ve seen in real life/seen in other movies, but then there’s always something there to remind you you’re in Star Wars. The alien lady walking her dog, the hover-trams, the droids doing jobs here, there, and everywhere. That’s a good execution of the 70/30 ratio rule.
This is probably just me, but, somehow, this story feels like it happens in the same universe as Andor but not Mandalorian/TBoBF/Ahsoka. Maybe it’s just that the scenes are shot differently, the camera angles are more dynamic (we’re not as stuck and static as in the Volume scenes). I can actually see what’s going on (it’s not so dark, unsaturated).
I just know there’s gonna be people going on and on about how immature the main characters are and I am going to ignore them as I did when they went on about Omega and Ezra. They. Are. Children. And they are acting like children. Because they’re children! They’re gonna not always listen! They’re gonna do the very thing they shouldn’t! They’re gonna push buttons they’re not supposed to! (oh, Wim’s definitely got space ADHD).
Claimsies = DIBS. Love a Star Wars twist on an earth saying/word.
Speaking of which… we got “kriffing”!
The Theelin lady trying to help the girls get home is a real one and I hope she gets away from that starport herself and gets a good life. Or continues saving people who shouldn’t be there, if that’s her mission in life.
SM-33, they better fix you. I love you. And I love the weird little rat that lives in your eye socket.
(Oh, and that tattoo droid sounded just like Cad Bane’s droid)
The mystery around the kids’ home planet is intriguing. Why do they have a Barrier, not a Sky? Why were their stars red lights? Why do they have Old Republic credits? What treasure is on their planet? I am here for it!
(Hoping we get some explanation next time on why the Jedi guy didn’t just escape the brig earlier)
So. Yeah. I came in with mid-to-low expectations (given the run of recent shows and seasons that have been rather… meh.) and I was blown away!

Astro-Observations.
I realize having 2H-8H, 4H-10H, and 6H-12H placements is common for women. And being feminine houses explains alot.
And in that way, 10H would represent the martriachy while the Guru in the philosophical 9H would represent patriarchy.
I think Aquarius is the archetype of the absolute masculine and Pisces the absolute feminine.
I've noticed air pairs up well with water and earth with fire. Air understands intensity as much as water does. Where air is a hermit and water a healer. Also water recognizes air is crazy like pixie crazy, whereas being entertained by the fact that they're the lunacy crazy, but they only under-estimate air. 🍃 this psycho-active game is what keeps the two going. Fun pair.
Air and earth at first seems boring, but the more they peek underneath the unmoving stability and silence of earth, they realize a humor that's hard to forget. And because air is timeless in the end, earth with it's tranquility wins the air to earth. Air brings a breeze; and this becomes a tropical 🍹 love.
The stubborn unmoving nature of earth is well understood by the inspiring nature of fire.
----I believe any synastry could work, and should if it was meant to be, and not to leave anything to fate 🍃 but even the most difficult like 8H 💄 synastry has worked in numerous cases for different individuals.
---I think the 4H 🏡 as one of the angular houses is very important since it's home and home is where the heart is. And the heart is the store for all our spiritual and earthly treasures. So it would make sense that originally cancer was ruled by ♃ Jupiter the planet 🌏 of abundance 💰.
Generally Jupiter for a woman's chart denotes the "earthly treasures" through the 🕺 Husband, and representing foreign cultures goes to say literally the woman as a home maker is accepted native to all cultures, belonging to none and therefore. The 9H being where the woman gets a culture they'll marry into, men as suitors, and residents of the 9H house. HENCE the 9H placements.
As for the man ; the Venus position indicates where they marry from. Nature and background of the woman in their 4H.
Literally the only axis that matter for a woman are the ones mentioned above concluding 1H-7H, 3H-9H, 5H-11H, to be the ones that matter for the man. And so the placements in it, infact this is relative and common on most Natal charts.
The mars 💉 placements show our actions, traditionally represented by scorpio(feminine) and the Aries (Masculine).
Also Mars is where we get adrenaline from, things "energize" us, ENERGY. ⛮ Meaning for the men the (ethereal) appeal comes from how consciously awake they are, and for the woman, the transformation they can do, as home makers in building Inheritance, as well as "the shared resources."
----The 8H, of shared Inheritance goes ahead to be a shadow of the 12H 🌊 what proceeds the eternity of a soul. Where Venus is exalted in Pisces again making it the highest archetype of a woman, in being the "golden alchemist of love". Compassion. Women are Soulful according to the 12H.
And ⚙ according to the 11H the epitome of the masculine, men are revolutionary. Fathers of civilizations. And because it all fair in love and war. Love is also a feminine form of civilization.
Fire and earth belong together too, like air and water.
That being said all chaos return to order, and all order is born from chaos. Therefore each harmful aspect in a birthchart appears to be neutralized by a uniquely powerful order in the chart. I think that makes astrology a "divine" science.
Edit; am thinking Leos have to be self sufficient because they are primarily ruled by the sun. "The father" in astrology and therefore being the energy of sustenance it will and must show in them and on them in a certain way. "Boss vibes" 😎 ✅

12th house and the inner alchemist
I notice people with this placement become deeply aware of what frequencies they want to be around. Like if you want something that is more 'jolly, fun, and whimsical' you might search for it in your mind , and then you start to find it in your body. It starts with the spirit first, then you go into meditation to connect with this energy through the art of imagination. That 'jolly, fun, whimsical energy' could end up taking you to a cool coffee shop, end up taking you into a colorful shop with weird looking food , or hell may take you to the circus ! because what youre looking for is the feeling/energy not the 'thing' itself.
I love to say 12th housers are like the boy in this book called 'The Alchemist', where he wanted to look for a treasure to make all his dreams come true, ends up going on a long journey before he finally finds the treasure that was in his hometown all along. In the end he realized what he wanted wasnt about the treasure, the treasure was a symbol to what he wanted to do in his reality which he eventually did without the treasure itself. The treasure is the idea of the energy he wanted in his life, not the thing itself.
Because the imagination brings things to us, and all though we aren't able to explain exactly what it is we are looking for, we go into meditative states to jump into this reality (manifestation) and then follow it with our bodies. And one by one, piece by piece, we enter into the worlds of our psyche through the physical reality.
One thing I can say about 12th housers, you have to let go of the IDEA because it is just that, an IDEA. it is useful for when you are looking for the spirit/energy of the thing you are looking for.
Also since I brought up the alchemist. The story was about making a way for yourself no matter what obstacles you go through, no matter if you dont have that 'thing' you need to get there. You create your reality as you go.
the boy had a simple intention to go find this treasure because he believed it would allow him stop talk taking care of sheep (he was a sheep boy), he could travel all around the world, find a wife, and live the life of his dreams. He evidently did all of that without the treasure! He made a way without even thinking of it, because he knew since he had left his hometown and the sheep there was no other choice but to make something happen!
I believe 12th housers have that inner alchemist inside them, which is why they are so good at painting, drawing, and whatever other art you can name cause its a lot (lol).
12th housers are great at using these things to attract what they want in their life, they follow the frequency/energy knowingly and unknowingly. I call them he universes messengers because they rely messages to the collective without having to explain to us whats the message.
I notice 12th house individuals show this with their music. like I said with frequency a lot of them know the type of energy they wish to convey in their songs because thats the vibe they want to keep with them as they journey through life.
think of sza, a fellow 12th houser with 4 planets (venus, uranus, saturn, and neptune) and she is known to connect to a certain frequency that sounds like 'fairies, sirens, and anything magical' (im honestly referring to ctrl and her older works from 2013/14)
It can also be a 'curse' one type sza tweeted how singing 'supermodel' off her ctrl album 'summoned' the guy she was talking about in the song.
12th house rules over the subconscious, so sometimes your art can attract what you dont want to you. you have to move around it, learn how to use it as a repellant as it can attract fleas (I say this about pisces/neptune peeps a lot, y'all do tend to attract flies).
using your mind to control your reality can be mastered if you continue to heal the shadow. your shadow is just what you've been accustomed to believe that it is shameful, and cant be seen in the light.
the shadow is who you are, dont be ashamed and run from it.
blessings to all my 12th house individuals you guys have a wonderful gift inside that interesting brain of yours! keep it up.

Skeleton Crew is such a fun show so far! I love that it’s accessible to both Star Wars fans and non-Star Wars fans! It’s a really pleasant deviation from what we’ve seen so far in the SW live action universe while still full heartedly remaining Star Wars. The 80’s nostalgia hits strong and makes it just that more enjoyable (and accessible in my opinion! :) ). I adore that’s it’s cute and fun and simple, but also has some deeper layers that people can delve into.
The Utopian-like society is very intriguing, but not too surprising! The concept of a planet completely cut off from the rest of the galaxy is not new to the wider Star Wars universe but it’s still super cool to explore. It’s got a bunch of markers that make it a society bent into the concept of Utopia (“we all have a place”; everyone’s path is chosen for them as a child; service droids for EVERYTHING including constant patrols??; the obvious Barrier; etc.) I’m assuming that At Attin has been cut off from the wider galaxy in order to create a kind of Utopia. At Attin, as far as we can tell, is untouched by war and conflict- and considering what’s happened to the galaxy even since the Clone Wars, it’s not surprising that at least one planet decided to pull away and hide themselves for the good of their people. I’m also assuming that though pirates consider At Attin to be a planet of unparalleled treasure, the real worth of the planet has been warped and misinterpreted over the years- and so At Attin’s treasure is NOT because of actual treasure, but because they are a supposed Utopia. (Though it’s obviously not! Who makes kids test into their career path at such a young age?? I get the sentiment behind it, but still!! And though At Attin’s population is not entirely human, they’re shocked by the aliens they see at the space port) It’ll be super cool to see where they take this not-quite-Utopian society. I especially want to know exactly how long it’s been since they’ve been cut off and WHERE exactly they are (Mid Rim? Outer Rim? Western Reaches? Unknown Regions??).
I was expecting Jude Law’s character (Captain Silvo/Jod Na Nawood/Crimson Jack (LOL) to be Force Sensitive but I somehow forgot until right before he did his little trick at the end of the second episode, haha! The question, of course, is if he actually used to be a Jedi or if he’s some other kind of Force Sensitive. Going with the 80’s/pirate nostalgia theme, it wouldn’t surprise me if he used to be a Padawan but left the Order before Order 66 (either willingly or bc he sucked at being a Jedi haha). But! If the character is supposed to be Jude Law’s age, that would make him a little older than Anakin. So another Order 66 survivor would be intriguing to explore! (I’m always a slut for Clone Wars references) Especially if he ends up caring for the kids and them relying on him/looking up to him reminds him of who he used to be. Either way, it’s very Treasure Planet/Treasure Island vibes!! Especially with SM-33 and his lil rat (my Beloved!).
I was expecting to enjoy Skeleton Crew and so far I’m enjoying more than I thought I would! I think it’s both fresh and nostalgic and I’m excited to see where it takes us :)

YEAH IM OOMF HAI IM HAPPY UR WATCHING THE SHOW Also... biology for j0hn siIv3r.... I must know... AND THE CROSSOV3R?? You have my full interest
YIPPEEEEEE HEMLOOOOOO
oooooo yee Silver biology,,,,, hmmm (not gonna bother censoring his name for this since it's. a noun)
okay, so, he's an alien, so it should stand that he'd have interesting biology, pretty different from a human's. he does strongly resemble mammals, though, so there might be some overlap, even if it's not one-to-one. maybe like, similar overall systems, i.e. circulatory, nervous, skeletal, and what we're all here for, digestive, and some similar organs, like a heart (or hearts), lungs of some sort or another, aaaaand a stomach
or, heck, he could have multiple stomachs, maybe. he's an alien, why not? I imagine his digestive system works differently from a human's, at least in some ways, even if his mouth looks similar. slow metabolism, perhaps, to suit a somewhat more carnivorous diet? not entirely carnivorous, but more meat-heavy. and different enzymes? different fluids entirely? different organs that produce different fluids?
okay okay I can make this more interesting, lemme give it a shot
I'd like to think he has some built-in way of doing safe noms, such as a storage stomach, or a way to temporarily shut off digestion. more fun than just handwaving it to work. maybe it's a conscious decision, or maybe it's entirely subconscious, and he just has to hope that his system does what he wants it to. could make for a great trust exercise, hehehe
and one can't ignore the cybernetics. obviously we don't know, in canon (at least as far as the movie goes), how deep they go beyond the limb replacements and the prosthetic eye and ear(?), but I'm sure he could, in theory, have needed some organs replaced or like. bolstered? I'm thinking of stuff along the lines of a pacemaker, basically.
so maybe he's got some bits and bobs in there. nothing in his stomach, probably, but perhaps you could see some blinking lights through the flesh if you looked closely enough, or hear the devices running in the background, like with his prosthetics, maybe even feel them if you go poking around enough (though he probably wouldn't like you doing that very much sdgnshjfs)
this was a lot more than I anticipated having to say on the matter lmao so I'm gonna chuck the HK crossover stuff under a cut
--------------------------------------
okay ! so ! Hollow Knight/Treasure Planet crossover time! (good gog this got long too, whoopsie)
it's effectively a 1-to-1 character swap for the most part, with HK characters taking up TP roles, and not too many changes to the canon TP plot. however, there can always be little scenes of those in-between moments we don't see in the movie!
now I. don't actually have permission to talk about the version of the AU I made with my friend, so there's gonna be some improvisations here to make a version that's more my own
Oro takes John Silver's role, no question about that, he's one of my favorite bois and I think he'd do great as a space pirate with a hidden soft side. he did not take the fight with his brother well, and he ended up going down a much darker path than he'd ever anticipated, but he holds his current place in life with pride. maybe people in the past called him heartless, but you know what? fine. he can be heartless.
Ghost is the most obvious choice for Jim's role, but I also think Broken Vessel/Lost Kin would suit it pretty well. angsty adolescent vibes, y'know? plus, Oro being parental towards them and all. but Ghost is still perfectly viable as well
either way, Mato has Sarah Hawkins' role. a very loving dad to his adopted child (or children, even? possibly?), tries his best to keep on a smile, but he is so tired. and maybe he runs a training hall instead of an inn? that's what he'd want to do, at least. maybe he runs an inn at the start, but it gets rebuilt into a training hall at the end of the plot, once he gets the money to actually follow his passions
now, Quirrel seems like the most obvious fill-in for Doctor Doppler. or perhaps Lemm? maybe Lemm, actually. Quirrel's physically capable and can hold his own in a fight, whereas Doctor Doppler is not. and nor is Lemm, probably! Quirrel has more of a wanderlust and would probably be more willing to go out and search for the treasure, but Lemm would take more value in the artifacts themselves.
in the original version of the AU, Quirrel was actually Oro's first mate (so technically taking Turnbuckle's place ig? and also. Morph's, by virtue of actually being plot-relevant (unlike Turnbuckle I mean)), and was very close to him, sort of acting as the diplomatic face of the crew, smoothing out his rough edges. despite his soft and friendly appearance, though, he's perfectly capable and willing to commit crimes
I kinda wanna keep that version of him, even if it might not make the most sense..? mainly because of my. my rarepair :>
Tiso is also there, because I say so. he's a member of Oro's crew, chills in the background, along with like. phuckin, I dunno, Leg Eater. Leg Eater matches the vibes of Silver's canon crewmates perfectly lmao. maybe Little Fool-? nah the Fools are probably their own crew. ...oh rightrightright Xero's there too, he's also on Oro's crew. possibly Markoth as well, but don't ask how he ended up keeping company with pirates. it's Xero's fault. maybe another warrior dream or two? Galien? sure why not
and Scroop is Hunter >:3 I mean sure someone else could probably take that role, and not turn the Hunter into a villain, but phuck, it would be so fun
now for Captain Amelia... I guess Hornet would make sense? I think Hornet is who most people would think of. and yeah, she's strong, she's capable, she was born to lead, and she's certainly agile. I'm sure she could fill those boots. however, in the original version of the AU, we picked Dryya, and phuckin hells. she's so cool, and it makes sense for her to have experience leading others, possibly in a military capacity
also if I went with Hornet for Captain Amelia, I would probably feel compelled to have Ogrim be Mr. Arrow (this makes sense because of Certain Other Headcanons from Other Friends okay trust me), and phuck, man, I can't kill off my boi Ogrim
no, for Mr. Arrow... Hegemol. this is because of an unwritten fic I have, actually, which involves Hunter and maggot!Hegemol, which goes about as well as you'd expect, and if the events for that particular scene of this AU go anything like how they do in my fic, well... there could be a way for Hegemol to survive, while everyone else thinks he's dead, and he's still taken out of the story. won't go into any more detail than that, though ;>
I don't really have any strong ideas for B.E.N., but I had thought that Emilitia might be pretty fitting. I may not like her too much, but I think she'd fit the role. the whole "eternal" thing, outliving her peers, going more than a little crazy, holing herself up alone somewhere...
in the original version of the AU, a past iteration of Grimm was Captain Flint, with his troupe as the pirate crew. I still think that could be cool. alternatively, Soul Master could take up that role, with his soul scholars. I think either one would work
okay is that all the important characters? I think that's all the important characters
so I don't think the Captain Amelia x Doctor Doppler ship is happening in this AU but you've got whatever homoerotic nonsense Quirrel and Oro and Quirrel's Two Other Boyfriends have going on to make up for it lmao
some aspects of the plot may change plus there'd be noms because I say so but it's mostly the same. Oro and Mato will definitely have to have some sort of confrontation. Mato might even recognize his brother from the start, if he gets a good enough look. not exactly enough time to act on it right then, though. also Quirrel and Oro take turns being mentor figures, with Oro taking longer to open up, but Quirrel also takes a while for his friendliness to be genuine and not just him playing good cop.
I did make art of Quirrel and Oro's designs for this AU like a year ago in a magma session but it kinda sucks. maybe I'll redo it someday, add some of the other characters in if I feel like it
if anyone actually read all this, hope you enjoyed my ramblings lmao. time for me to disappear into the ether for like another 3 months! /j (.../hopefully j) (....../possibly srs)

Maybe a tough question, but ... If you had to put the EC guys in a tier list, from one to six ... who do you like the most and who the least?
Woooaaah 🤯🤯 That's really a tough one! And I'll think about it, but just to make sure from the very beginning: even my tier-6-blorbo I love very dearly! So no hard feelings and no judgement please 🙈
1. Kevin
First up is Kevin. He is so fucking stupid and I love him for it. He's pure sunshine. He always seems to keep his surroundings in a good mood and he gives off such an incredible positive vibe. And while being goofy he's also so fucking educated on music 😱 e.g. all those shows where contestants have to guess the song and he simply DESTROYS his opponents! And how he plays and improvises the piano! It's so impressive. And last but not least: Last time I got the chance to talk to him - he's such a ridiculously humble and down-to-earth guy. Nice, kind, positive... How can you not love this manchild?? ❤️❤️
1. Danskimo
My other first tier blorbo is Dan. Yes, nobody on this planet can force me to decide between Dan and Kevin. Not even you, anon. Deal with it. I love Danskimo just as much, he seems like such a nice guy but also mischievous and I love how on one hand he seems so quiet and serious and in the next moment he's absolute mayhem. Also he's an amazing musician and HAVE YOU LOOKED AT HIM?? God, he has the face of an angel and his tats are so fucking hot 🥵🥵 Dan is definitely the most attractive one in the band, no discussion. And we even share a birthday! Need I say more? ❤️❤️
3. David
As a fellow polak I can confirm that David is our national treasure. His radiating kurwa energy is sooooo contagious 😂 So it's my obligation to put him that high up on my list ^^
4. Nico
I guess I don't need to explain why I love Nico. The perfect mix between a cute, poor meow-meow and a rabid chihuahua that will rip your still beating heart right out of your fucking chest. There's such a fine line between cuddles and anger issues... And it makes him even more lovable 🥰 And then there's his voice ✨ He sings like a fucking angel 😍
5. Daniel
I really love Daniels nerdiness but I guess the only reason why he's so low in my list is because he's so quiet? 🤔 I mean nothing wrong with being quiet (quite the contrary!) but I guess I just don't pay as much attention to him... But still he seems like such a fun and nice guy, I would love to tuck him to bed with a hot chocolate and cuddle him to sleep 🥰 (sry if this is weird...)
6. Pascal
I know many fangirls will curse me for it because I know the majority of you out there love this ginger pumpkin pie to death, but I don't feel the vibes as much... Please don't get me wrong! I love Pasl and his creativity and especially the insane amount of tongue! I just don't feel the chemistry like many of you do 🙈
Edit: Afterwards I realized others replied way shorter to this question. So I want to say I'm very, very sorry for my wall of text 😅🙈
#anon#that was really a very tricky question 😅#but fun to “analyse” it ^^#electric callboy#kevin#danskimo#david#nico#daniel#pascal

Stolas Redesign🌒✨
Made my own take on Stolas for fun! I love seeing Stola’s fashion, especially when it gets more celestial ✨🌙🌌
Pushed the whole moon motif more with more sparkles, crescent shapes and a starry night sky effect for his coats inside!🌌🌙🌕🌖
Went for more deep, night blues, since he’s a royal blue blood and to fit with the moon/night theme more🌒🌌 he does still have some red, but in his eyes and facial markings. There’s also some subtle purples which is also a color associated with royalty, the night and magic. And to show a connection he has with blitz. Red+blue make purple❤️💙💜(there’s a couple of things I’d change with the whole thing).
Added more from his dad with his eyes and facial markings. I removed the second eyes, had nothing against them, just didn’t fit with how I was redesigning his eyes 👀 I also based more of his outfit on his dad’s as well with the waist wrap and decorations.
Wanted to push a more scholar/academic vibe, like a fancy university professor. In the stories, Stolas is someone who teaches others about celestial objects such as the stars, and even knowledgeable in other subjects such as plants, herbs and precious stones! Went for things such as a long jacket, vest with a cravat tie, ruffles, spats and even gave him some spectacles 👓 I wanted a more vintage academia look, like Delbert from Treasure Planet.
Removed the top hat and added more details on his crown to look like the details on his Grimoire👑🎩 wanted to give off closer vibes to the illustrations by Collin de Plancy’s “Dictionnaire Infernal” people often use when talking about him.
Gave him more of a “Dad bod” .
Made his tail shorter and have a gradual dark gradient rather than the OG’s black end line.
Made his beak more curved.
Made his feet white with black talons.
I’ve also made designs of I.M.P, Verosika and even his ex wife Stella who I gave a more solar motif☀️🌅 What do u think? I’d love to know💖

May I introduce my Space Rangers AU, just a teeny tiny bit?
At least- some initial doodles including some designs for it-
While there are a lot of other characters that have fun designs and backstories for this au, these four (+ Rusty) are the main focus for now-
They're space experiments, escapees from A.F.O (not the person), an organisation that experiments and tries to create perfect beings using solar and lunar energy extracted from suns and moons!
Brief character info:
PL:
Was stolen as a child from Earth and experimented on, ended up busting out and saving a bunch of the other kids.
Took them to Yuuei (a built up safe haven for all, home of the space rangers)
Ended up going on some adventures with Ecto, who was now his best friend that would tag along with anything.
Became a ranger captain and eventually built a crew with Ecto
They accept odd jobs and commissions, no matter the manner of them, and get money through them (+occasionally thieving things)
He ends up rescuing and breaking out more experiments from different A.F.O bases, and takes them to Yuuei for safety.
Rescued Rusty, who was in the animal space trade, and now looks after him and treasures him.
Hes about 70% space rock and metal and random alien blood at this point-
Loves to visit earth to get the snacks there.
Ecto:
Was a royal from a planet with constantly shifting gravity, so his body allows him to just kinda switch his own sense of gravity around if that makes sense-
(he can just vibe on the ceiling whenever he wants lol)
Also has this shadowy bone demon that lives within him/as part of him.
Got stolen and his planet kinda got wiped out, and off he went to go get experimented on.
He was supposed to be 'scrapped' but survived bc of Higari.
They made friends with each other when still young, Higari saved Ecto from being killed and he helped him break out.
Ever since then, he stuck with him and became a ranger with him (also ended up falling for him and becoming a huge mess about it)
He really likes the sweets that Higari gets him from Earth.
Tsunagu:
From an ancient civilisation that is now long gone, his entire kind was wiped out after him and a other kids got stolen by A.F.O.
Was part of the original experiments carried out by the actual AFO(person) before Tsunagu kinda went rogue, killed him, destroyed the original base and fled.
He is OLD as fuck.
He would qualify as a "royal" but wouldn't use that title, as within his civilisation they were all perceived as noble beings.
He can shapeshift, never shows his natural form due to insecurities with how he was experimented on, and trust issues.
The experiment on him went VERY wrong, and he was accidentally injected with the Solar energy of an ancient Celestial Solar Being :]
It inhabits his being and goes rogue sometimes. It is searching for its "Home", which happens to be its other half - an ancient lunar being <3
He is dangerous and grouchy as hell, but has a sense of humour deep down.
Also met Higari and his crew by being broken out of jail by him and now constantly relies on him to break him out of jail. Very often.
He's a captain of his own ship and crew.
Shinya:
Was stolen from earth quite a long time ago as a baby and not only experimented on, but raised by the scientists.
He was brainwashed and all that jazz to become one of their "higher functioning mercenaries".
He aided in their schemes and killing for quite the long time until he was sent on a mission out to earth.
This didn't go well, and he ended up losing all of his memory to do with A.F.O and space and only knew the information he was given to fit in: "Shinya Kamihara, age 33, scientist and medic for space exploration"
He came back out to space on an expedition and it went wrong, he got stranded with important dangerous stuff, and eventually gets helped by Higari and his crew and meets Tsunagu.
The rest is all a very long plot. He has to find out who he was and is.
He has hidden markings from his experiment mercenary days, and only certain circumstances/equipment/technology can reveal it.
He also, mirroring Tsunagu's predicament, is the host for the Celestial Lunar Being that is searching for it's home.

Wish-ing for more
So, I recently saw "Wish", the 62nd animated movie from Disney, with my cousin. Funnily enough, we both had different backgrounds to the movie: For my cousin, she knew that the movie wasn't the biggest hit, but she had no idea it wasn't well received. For me, I knew that the movie wasn't well reviewed, but I was willing to give it a chance. After all, Treasure Planet was one of my favorite Disney movies.
Ultimately, we both had the same takeaway: there should have been more. It wasn't terrible, but ironically, it wasn't full of Disney magic. This was especially a shame given that it was essentially supposed to be a love letter to Disney movies.
Now, I think it's important to not just say I didn't love something, especially when I can articulate where I felt things were lacking. SPOILERS AHEAD. If you see ~~text~~, that reflects my own personal thoughts rather than the story.
Wish starts off with our protagonist Asha, explaining the background of the kingdom where she lives, Rosas. Rosas is a Mediterranean island ruled by the magical king Magnifico and his non-magical queen Amaya. Rosas is special because on the 18th birthday of a citizen, or when anybody becomes a new citizen, they offer up their wish--essentially their dream for their life--to Magnifico. They end up forgetting their wish in the process, which makes them stop pursuing it, but it also allows them to never have to deal with the pain of it never happening. The ultimate trade off to this though is that King Magnifico occasionally holds a "Wish Granting" ceremony, where he choses one or two wishes to grant, returning the wish to its owner but also giving them the ability to attain it.
Asha, a few months shy of her own 18th birthday, hopes to become the newest King's apprentice and prepares for her interview. She is then brought to the King's study by Queen Amaya, who tells her that she is aware how much Asha loves the kingdom and wishes her luck.
~~And this is where things get...well, rushed. Also, was it weird for Amaya to bring Asha to the King? Shouldn't that have been a knight or another servant or something??~~
While waiting for the King in his study, Asha is drawn to a book of forbidden magic, which Magnifico quickly appears and tries to deters her from, but not before she triggers the protective charm around it.
~~The vibe around this plot point is reminiscent of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" scene from Fantasia, where Mickey was the big-dreaming apprentice to another magician, which is a nice parallel~~
Asha clumsily makes her way through the interview, and after she and Magnifico connect over having lost family in their childhoods, Magnifico is drawn to show Asha where he stores all the wishes of Rosas. They then have a duet expressing how they desire to protect the wishes "at all costs".
~~To me this was...weird? Aren't they supposed to be kept safe and hidden? Why show this to a person who hasn't taken the job yet? Also, I felt a song here really should have been more about the wishes themselves rather than the desire to protect them. "At All Costs" reads more like a love song, even a little between Magnifico and Asha without the badly needed context, rather than be centered around the wishes. Instead, it should have been around all the wishes that Magnifico has granted, and the joy its brought to others and Rosas. It would set up the "reveal" a bit better, and "show, but not tell" people how precious the wishes are.~~
During the song, Asha discovers her grandfather's wish. Her grandfather is 100 years old today, and she quickly ~~too quicky!!~~ asks Magnifico if she would grant her grandfather's wish during the day's wish ceremony. Magnifico considers it, but ultimately refuses. He explains that her grandfather's wish to "inspire others" is too vague, and it could potentially be a danger to Rosas. Asha tries to argue that her grandfather is a good person and would never wish harm, but Magnifico flares in a sharp rage. He insists that only he knows best for Rosas and he will not grant the wish. Before Asha can go off, he insists that she join Queen Amaya on the main stage to watch him receive the wishes of new citizens while also granting a wish.
~~So, this was weird to me? Sure, there were promos that exposed the fact that King Magnifico was the villain, but it didn't need to be confirmed so quickly. But in addition, I felt it would have been more key for Magnifico to hold it together for at least a little longer, to make the audience better understand why Magnifico was regarded as such a beloved king. For him to slip so quickly so sudden felt...amateurish. He should have gotten lessons from Hans. But on the note of his refusal to grant Sabino's wish. I couldn't say he was wrong, really. A lot of problems around people having wishes is that they're vague. Like, if someone wished to be "happy", there wouldn't be a real way to know what would make them happy. A loving family? Wealth? Cocaine? World Domination? When Sabino wants to inspire others...well how? To do what? This is what makes the wish "dangerous" to Magnifico.
Now, it would have been nice if Magnifico was clear that the more specific and grounded the wish was, the more likely it would be granted. Or even that the reason he only grants one wish at a time could be because his magic is limited so he has to think in the terms of which wish has the most good. It would have allowed him to keep his "good" image to Asha while still making her consider people whose wishes were "rejected" should just have them returned.
That said, this was a fun shout out to the fact that Sabino, like Disney, is 100 years old. His wish to inspire the next generation is a sweet touchpoint to the way Disney has inspired others in its century.~~
After the wish ceremony, Asha is at her grandfather's birthday dinner along with her mother, all at different levels of disappointment at Sabino not being chosen. Eventually, Asha tells him his wish will never be granted because Magnifico has deemed it "dangerous." She wants to tell her grandfather what it is, but Sabino refuses. He adamantly tells her that he doesn't want to know what such a dangerous wish would be, even though Asha tries to tell him it wasn't to her. Asha leaves the dinner in tears.
Asha then sings about how she wants more for Rosas, that people who will never get their wishes granted should just be allowed to try to pursue them, even if they fail or get disappointed, than to just live without them. She wishes on a star, and...well, the star shows up.
The star can't talk, but it is clearly magic and can grant speech to other things, including not just the forest animals, but Asha's goat Valentino.
~~Note that Valentino has been in the movie the whole time to this point, but for the animal mascot didn't provide much value to me~~
When Asha asks how this is possible, the animals and plants of the forest sing a song, credited as "sung by Cast", that tells her that "We are all Stars". Afterwards, Asha tells Star what has been happening, and that because of her her mother's nor her grandfather's wishes would be granted. Star is shocked by this, and immediately suggests that the best solution to this problem is crime. Specifically, stealing the two wishes back from the king. Asha...agrees.
~~This is the plot point that I felt that the Disney Magic wasn't there. For starters, a lot of the time in Disney movies, people aren't just "wishing"--they do. They try everything they can themselves, and only when they're at the despair horizon does a macguffin come. Cinderella is a great example--she and her animal friends do all they can to finish the chores and get her dress ready, and it was only after her stepfamily tore the dress, and therefore Cinderella's "wish" to shreds, does she get magical help. Another example is Tiana, who worked and hustled her way to save up for her own restaurant, only for it to be tore to shreds by the racism/sexism machine, and was then granted help by her fate twisting with Prince Naveen. Or when seven-year-old Lilo wishes on a star, but only after the plot makes it clear that the friendless Lilo will be separated from her sister so soon after the deaths of their parents. I could go on.
I couldn't help but feel that Asha could have come up with "crime" by herself, we could have seen a "heist gone wrong" scene, and then Star would show up and give Asha the power/courage to try again. Especially since we see that Star's magic has mostly been just for 'fun' at this point, and offered no real ability beyond what Asha had herself. Asha asked her friend for a shortcut to the King's Study. Asha asked her friends to distract Magnifico so he wouldn't come back too soon. And ultimately, they could only save just one of the wishes--Sabino's--which Asha was also capable of doing.~~
As Asha is getting Sabino's wish back, Magnifico has been advised by Amaya to talk to the citizen's about the light that was seen last night--Star's light. Despite the citizens believing the light was from him, due to its warmth and radiance, Magnifico is convinced that it was from a potential threat. Magnifico informs the populace of this event, calling the light both a "threat" but also "from an amateur", and tells them to let him know any information. Asha's friend Dahlia questions him to stall for time for Asha, asking him how he knows that information and what would he consider information (evidence vs hunch)? Her questions motivate others to join in, and ultimately someone asks what could incentive people to provide it? Magnifico agrees that in exchange for information, he will perform another wish granting ceremony.
Magnifico returns to the castle, alone and enraged that his citizens are ungrateful. He laments that this is the "thanks he gets" for providing for them.
~~ The song had some odd lyrics, but this should have been the "mask off" scene. With the request to his people for information, we see just enough of the veneer's dark underbelly--"our enemy is both weak and strong"--and now in his private moment we can see how he really thinks and feels. Having the mask come off during Asha's interview was much too soon and made the citizens look more foolish than they should have been shown to be.~~
As Asha manages to barely leave the study in time, Magnifico decides to utilize the forbidden magic book to help track down the light. Asha returns home and gives Sabino back his wish, showing him that it wasn't dangerous at all. Sabino embraces it, and it returns back to him. However, this moment is cut off by Magnifico, who tracks them down. An informant ratted Asha out, and now, armed with new dark magic, he intends to punish Asha by destroying her mother's, Sakina's, wish. Sakina feels an intense feeling of grief as Magnifico absorbs the wish and found that it has increased his powers.
The five of them--Asha, Sabino, Sakina, Star, and Valentino--manage to escape, especially once Valentino convinces the knights' horses to let them go "as one domesticated animal to another". They managed to get in a boat and Asha rows them to safety until Star helps out with magic. As Asha laments that this is now putting all of Rosas at risk, she realizes that she has to go back and make things right.
Meanwhile, Magnifico is practically high off his new discovery. He proceeds to use the forbidden magic book to make a dark magic wand, using more wishes as ingredients. Amaya learns about this and is shocked to find how far her husband has fallen, and rebuffs his claim that Asha is a threat to the kingdom. Magnifico turns his staff on her to test her loyalty, and Amaya assures him that there is nothing more important to her than Rosas.
Magnifico then performs his wish granting ceremony, identifying his informant as Asha's friend Simon. Simon, who was the first of the friend group to turn 18, had already given his wish to Magnifico and his friends observed he seemed more "tired" and "boring" since. Magnifico grants Simon's wish to be the best knight in Rosas, but by infusing Simon with his dark magic making Simon a malevolent puppet for Magnifico.
~~ So, I did like the theme about how adulthood discourages wishing. While in childhood, potential can seem endless, but in adulthood, real life gets in more and more. You end up too tired, too busy, to remember your wishes and dreams, and this ultimately makes you a boring, uninspired person. I could sympathize with Simon, who barely an adult, longed to be the person who he was barely a few months ago--to have his dream back to make him a whole person rather than spend his life empty and unfilled, with hopes like Sabino to live to 100, but never have to granted. But the fact that he gained his wish at the cost of betraying his friends is what makes it become corrupted. It's a good lesson in that your wish is a part of you, but so is your character and your relationships, and trading one for another will never make you whole.~~
Asha, who has now donned a blue cloak to sneak back to Rosas, learns of the betrayal along with her friends at the ceremony. Asha also sends a talking mouse to relay a message to Amaya, assuring her of her loyalty and her desire to fix things.
Asha then reunites with her remaining friends, who go to "introvert's sanctuary" of one of their friends to regroup and decide what to do next. Here, they have another song where Asha explains that while this wasn't her intention for Rosas, she doesn't regret letting the truth about the wishes and their king's true character be known. Her friends, who have varying degrees of willingness to go along with things, eventually all agree to come to her aid. In addition. they're discovered by Amaya in the latter half of the song, who gives her allegiance to these children against her husband.
~~ Here, I honestly would have preferred to hear an Amaya song over the children's. I felt Amaya had a lot to work through, as it is clear that while she deeply loved her husband, she also loved Rosas and its people. I would have loved to hear her being torn between the love for the man she thought she married and the love for the citizens that are how his victims. To have her find the strength inside her to reclaim herself as not Magnifico's Queen, but the Queen of Rosas. ~~
The plan is for Amaya to tell Magnifico that Asha has been spotted in the nearby woods, and for Asha to distract him while he is there. Meanwhile, everyone else will be helping free all the wishes. While waiting, Star gives Asha a stick infused with magic before they return to Asha's friends to help out. Star however, doesn't give much in the way of an instruction manual. When Magnifico returns, Amaya finds that the magic-infused stick is capable to doing things from making things bigger, to making things move, to probably everything in between.
~~I felt this scene was sort of cute because between the blue cloak and the stick, it gave Asha the look of the Fairy Godmother. However, the movie later explicitly hits its it on the nose, so it's not much of an easter egg~~
Eventually, it's revealed that the Magnifico that Asha is facing is actually a glamoured Simon, and that the real Magnifico is still at the castle. Asha leaves him to his fate to fight a bear, following by a hoard of what I assume are "killer-but-not-really-for-Disney-purposes" rabbits.
Sure enough, Asha's friends and Star are struggling to free the wishes, but they eventually manage to do so through teamwork. As they run outside to bask in their hard work while Star swims amongst the wishes, Magnifico uses his dark magic to imprison them once again, including Star. He then turns all the wish orbs to stone and brings Asha up to him to further taunt her as he absorbs Star in his staff. At this point, Asha tries to take the staff back but fails. Magnifico then takes things up a notch and summons clouds to cover the sky to prevent further "wishing on a star" shenanigans, and ties down the people of Rosas.
At the despair horizon, Asha remembers that "we are all stars". Dahlia joins Asha in song, having the other citizens join in turn "to make this wish to have something more", a reprise of Asha's "I want" song that summoned Star in the first place. The people glow with their internal stars, which frees the wishes and restores them, as well as frees Star. The staff, having what I assume is a "1 occupant minimum" clause, draws Magnifico into it, imprisoning him in the mirror-line stone.
~~This moment, adding into a few other of his lines, makes me think of The Magic Mirror from Snow White. I would think that was more funny, except The Magic Mirror is a huge jerk of a boss in Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and I don't want to think about that anymore.~~
All the wishes return to their owners and Simon returns to normal. Simon apologizes to his friends and they forgive him.
In a new dawn, Asha is now helping Queen Amaya in helping everyone get their wish granted, even connecting people with similar wishes so they can help each other out.
As a goodbye present, Star restores the magic-infused stick Asha had broke earlier into a proper magic wand. Asha initially refuses, but someone points out her destiny is like a fairy godmother and she accepts.
~~Also, the movie does a final on the nose point that Asha's friends, that there are so many of, are the seven dwarfs~~ The end of the credits, we see Sabino playing music to the tune "When you wish upon a star", finishing up the narrative and encouraging everyone to keep wishing.
~~Like I said, this isn't a terrible movie. There are a lot of notes on its love letter to Walt Disney and Disney movies, and it's fun to catch them. That said, if the best I can say is that "this isn't a terrible movie", that's not super glowing praise. The expectations should have been higher and there was definitely more potential here than what they ended up with.~~

We're gonna do Treasure Planet because I love Treasure Planet.
Okay, first off, we all know this is based off Treasure Island so the plot is quite well known and, honestly, Disney knew that once the muppet version was released they could do nothing to compete against it so they had to go a different route which is how we got this beautiful movie.
I love the steampunk vibe. It's giving dystopian, it's amazing and you can really see the animators were having fun with experimenting with the character design.
We'll start with Silver. I liked his character design. In a lot of movies and adaptations they make Silver very capable and very mobile. They don't do this in Treasure Planet. Like you can tell this is a disabled man (cyborg) He has a very dog looking face, which is interesting in terms of symbolism because we could say he's like a dog with a bone, he won't give up until he gets this treasure but he's deteriorated along the way. You can tell that this quest has taken a lot out of him, not only his mind but his physical appearance. Like this man is half machine at this point and he doesn't shy away from that. Again, we see him struggle with his leg, he needs to take breaks which means, to the audience, that we don't expect a lot out of him physically. This is why we're quite surprised that he is very mobile when he needs to be such as when he's fighting Jim for the treasure. Mainly, however, Silver is made like this because we need to appreciate his mind rather than his physicality. We listen to Silver because he has very little else to offer in terms of character design, his words are what are important here not his strength. This is shown by him taking a leadership role when the mutiny occurs. Very rarely do we see Silver fight, again, he talks, he connives, he looks after Jim. And I did love that we saw Jim and Silver bond. Like you feel their connection in this film, they didn't gloss over that, they made it a struggle for him and it pays off, we are sympathetic to Silver at the end of the movie.
We'll move onto Jim. Why did they have to give us that song when his father goes off to sea? I feel like weeping every time I hear it, it's so sad and powerful and fits so well with the story because you can see this is a moment in time that has really affected Jim, he really loved his father and he wanted to go to sea with him, he's desperate for that paternal relationship. That's not to say he doesn't love his mother either. Like you can tell he does, he loves his mother so much but he's acting out because he's hurting and she doesn't know what to do with him. She doesn't have time because she needs to keep him safe by keeping a roof over his head. I love the parallel of his surf board thing being a hinderance in the beginning of the movie and then coming in handy at the end. I loved that. I thought it was poetic and it shows us as an audience that Jim isn't stupid. Like he has potential, but he's wasting it by getting into trouble. He made that board by himself, he literally attempts to fix Billy Bones's ship by himself and succeeds. Jim is actually really smart and it's quite nice to see that we can pick up on that within the first couple of minutes into the film. It makes the rest of the film, how Jim figures out the map and how the portal works actually plausible because Jim is capable of figuring things out, he's, again, not a stupid protagonist and we're shown this from the offset. It's very interesting that Jim's one of the only 2 humans in this film as well. They could have went full alien, but instead they made Jim human so he relates more to those at home who might also be feeling the way he does, aka abandoned and out of place in the world. It's also interesting because it does help to show just how alone Jim is. He literally only has his mother, there are no other humans but her in this film. It's very isolating.
Onto the professor and the captain. I liked them together. I liked the joke. You know, he's a dog, she's a cat, they're fighting like cats and dogs, it's funny. I liked all the star trek jokes they slid in there too 'I'm a doctor Jim!' like it works. It was great, their mutant babies were kind of cute, I liked it.
The crew was very interesting too. Like this film did a great job in making you feel for when the characters died. That guy who died, I don't remember his name but his rope was cut, I felt that, I really did. The sense of loss in this film is amazing. Like it is not easy to get an audience to empathise with characters, especially minor characters who die. But you feel it because it was a completely unnecessary and preventable death. It was murder, and that spider guy? Terrifying. I felt fear when he was on the screen, which is props to the colour and character design. He's red, which is our first immediate warning. Red is usually a colour associated with danger and blood so when he stands out and we see him we know that he's a bad guy. Also, he's a spider. A lot of people aren't fond of spiders and by creating this monster of a guy, like, yeah, I was scared when he was hiding in the ceiling, I still can't watch Jim looking for the map on the ship without feeling apprehension at what's going to happen. It's such good framing and storytelling, like it was an actual scary sequence.
The plot, again, we love it because it's Treasure Island and they did a great job in adapting it. You know it's a good film when you feel happy at the ending, and Jim ending up at the Naval Academy, Silver's constellation in the sky? It was great, I loved it. I love this movie, it's so good.

WIP Questionnaire
Thank you @tildeathiwillwrite for the tag! (From 2 weeks ago lol but anyways)
I'm answering these for The Flames of Revolution!
1. What’s the first part of your WIP that you created?
Technically this is the prequel to my Days of Resistance series, so I came up with a lot of the world and character stuff before I started this book specifically. Most of the first stuff I created was just bits and pieces of Caldren's backstory, mainly about him being an assassin, and a lot of the moments with him and Peg.
2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
"Things We Lost in the Fire" by Bastille is one of the songs I really associate with this book in particular. Fire is a huge element to Caldren's character arc. Almost all the big turning points in his life involve flames, hence the name of the book. Both the lyrics and the vibe fit really well.
But if I was looking for a song for the series as a whole, I really like "War of Change" by Thousand Foot Crutch. It fits with both the outer conflict with the government and with the internal conflict of some of the characters.
3. What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?
Peg. I love Caldren to death, but Peg is my favorite little guy in all the world. He's so sweet and perfect and pure. I put him through so much trauma, but despite it all he just keeps going and holding onto his kind, sweet nature.
Caldren is so great too though. He's so, so stupid sometimes, but his character arc is great. He's also such an interesting mess of contradictions, and despite everything he's a great big bro.
Madreline is so hard-working and supportive. She takes no nonsense, but is still very sweet and compassionate. I really wish I could write her in more tbh.
I'm going to put in Scatterwag as an honorable mention because he's probably my favorite side character. He has some of the same vibes as Fagin from Oliver Twist or Long John Silver in Treasure Planet. Like, you know his morals are extremely messed up and he's probably committed absolute atrocities, but there's something so jolly and lovable about him that you can't help liking him.
4. What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share?
I'm honestly not sure. It's a really weird genre, hinting at historical fiction but definitely not actually that, but not quite fantasy either? I think that people who like it would also like things like the Hunger Games. It was also inspired a lot by The Wingfeather Saga, so I think that would also be something my fanbase might share.
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?
Training scenes. Caldren's whole thing is wanting to become stronger/more adept at fighting so he can get his revenge, but I am absolutely horrible at writing training scenes. There's like, at least three and I'm trying to figure out how to write them beyond "and then they taught him how to use a dagger" 😅.
6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
I don't really have any specific animals in this book, although there's a pretty nice dog in other books of the series. In this book, Caldren does have a horse, but it's not super important. There's also a few mentions of the street dogs! They're these unwanted, abandoned dogs that wander the back streets of the big cities in packs, and will occasionally attack humans to try to get food. While they are legitimate threats, there's this whole thing about Peg relating to the street dogs because he knows how it feels to be cast out and considered monstrous and unlovable. Andreu tames one later in the series.
7. How do your characters travel/get around?
It's a time period before cars, so the main transportation is wagons, carriages, and horses. Carriages are usually for the wealthy, though. Caldren rides a horse between cities. Within the city, Caldren and Peg travel mainly by foot. They know the back streets and all the shortcuts really well. Caldren also ends up learning how to travel by rooftop.
8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?
Filling in all the spots I skipped over when I did NaNoWriMo last year. I feel like I'm getting so close to being finished and then I realize there are whole chapters I skipped because I wasn't sure what exactly was going on in it. I guess it's technically still in the first draft but I feel like I've changed things and filled in so many plot holes that it's gotta be at least the third draft 😅
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) will you think draw your audience in?
One big thing is the found family with Caldren and Peg.
Besides that:
- Assassins
- Dystopian, but not super disturbing or graphic
- The fact that it's a Christian YA (?) book that not super annoying and cliche. (I hope 😅)
10. What are your hopes for your WIP?
Right now I just want to get the whole draft finished. My long-term hopes are to finish up the rest of the series, because this whole backstory prequel for Caldren isn't as meaningful if you don't have the context of the rest of the series.
Tagging! @late-to-the-fandom @agirlandherquill @themswritinwords @ryns-ramblings um and open tag!
Blank questions!
1. What’s the first part of your WIP that you created? 2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be? 3. What are your favorite characters that you made? Why? 4. What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share? 5. What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP? 6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them! 7. How do your characters travel/get around? 8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now? 9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) will you think draw your audience in? 10. Ahsoka: "Master and Apprentice" & "Toil and Trouble" Liveblog
Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOO! :D
We've added Marrok and Hyuang and one of the mercenaries and Chopper and Sabine to the opening character swivels, nice.
Digging this drum cue.
And we get an opening crawl! Nice.
Hilariously this bridge sequence feels more Star Trek than Star Wars.
Good for this captain he's very suspicious.
Hi Baylan! Hi Shin!
Aaaaaaaand they all dead.
All right, well thus far I can say I definitely like Baylan's heavy forceful presence and Shin's near feral nimbleness and speed.
Also digging the general Black Knight feel of Baylan, when he calls her "Lady Morgan" here.
Definitely feeling Zeffo vibes off this temple here.
Aligning the pedestals to light up each of the map icons definitely feels like it'd be a perfect JFO minigame lol.
That... is a Treasure Planet map.
Love how these droids move.
Welp, they blew up quite a bit of the ruins.
HEEEEERRAAAAAAAAAA! :D
Oh and she does have the lekku markings, nice.
I'm sorry, lol, the height difference is gonna bug me, Ahsoka with her large montrals was like... one of the tallest characters on the show and LA!Hera's got inches on her here it's unintentionally hilarious.
Makes LA!Ahsoka look like a shrimp.
This is a call to improve the alien makeup Disney, I'm sorry I will never not be disappointed in it.
My heart. :(((( Hera came to believe that Thrawn (and most likely Ezra too) died in the Liberation of Lothal. The quiet fearful hope on her face as she's holding this map.
"If Thrawn survived, does that mean Ezra--?"
FRICK I WAS NOT PREPARED.
And Lothal looks beautiful. *sniffles*
Hi Ryder!
And Jai Kell got to be Lothal's senator! SWEET.
BEAAAAAAAAN!
The camera shot that introduces her. *chef kiss*
Sabine being A MESS because she misses Ezra so much and she can't stand being at the dedication ceremony honoring him. :((((
There she goes to the tower.
KITTY!
SKRUNKLES MY LOVE!
We don't ever learn its name do we? Then I'm calling it Skrunkles.
OHHHHH I heard Sabine's theme! With the pan down to her stored armor.
The cat is really too cute, they did a fantastic job on it.
Ezra's theme playing too aaaaaaaand frick I'm dead.
"Hey Sabine! Sorry for disappearing on you." YOU HAD BETTER BE SORRY YOU LITTLE SHIT.
Ha ha now I understand all the weird Sabezra related asks I got over the weekend, y'all were trying to warn me.
Like I've said before, canon validation isn't my be all end all, I love these two and that's not gonna stop.
SORRY DAVE, I'VE BEEN ON THE HELL TRAIN TOO LONG, YOU CAN'T GET ME OFF NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
Also? Eman is nailing this.
And there's the Nightsister reveal.
I'm slightly confused as to how and why Baylan knows that Ahsoka had Sabine as her apprentice.
Like, where to find Sabine, that's easy, obviously she's on Lothal, she's the local hero and protector.
But why does he know about Ahsoka's connection to her?
Anyway, Lothal still looks beautiful.
Bury me in Sabine having maybe prophetic nightmares and waking up gasping Ezra's name.
*weeps*
"Everyone was there." "Not everyone."
OW PAIN STABBING.
Natasha is killing it with this look like she's trying to hold back from crying.
They cut out the "It's been a while." line, huh. Interesting choice.
Oooooooo Sabine has doodles in one of the bunks on Ahsoka's ship!
This dialogue seems a bit redundant to the Hera-Ahsoka scene. Like, isn't this the same conversation she had with Hera?
I can't get over it, lol, it's literally a Treasure Planet map. Love it.
"The map stays here." You're going to turn around and Sabine's is gonna be GONE honey.
See, told ya. Lol.
Callbacks to Maul scenes from Phantom Menace, nice.
Skrunkles is adorable. I love him.
Ohhhhhh we are definitely exploring Ahsoka's lingering guilt over leaving the Order, leaving Anakin, before his Fall.
That design looks a bit like a Celtic knot. Maybe tying into the whole Authurian legend theme with some of the names and aesthetics?
WOAH OKAY HA HA EZRA GOT THRAWN WAAAAAAAAY MORE LOST THAN WE'D THOUGHT.
Sabine are you seriously planning to go off looking for Ezra by yourself?
You've got it baaaaaad girl.
Okay, glad they finally explained where the turbolift was in this thing lol.
Youuuuuuuu didn't need to lurk, Shin? Literally could have just taken the map and left?
Ho ho Shin grabbing the lightsaber in order to throw Sabine around.
Ooof that's gonna scar.
Soooooo was Shin just being Extra and wanting to fight another Jedi?
Bet that was it.
"For our friend, Ray" RIP good man. :(
Star charts credits nice!
These are gorgeous and I wanna study them so much more closely. I think there's a chimera? Some kind of worm thing.
PURRGIL!
The score is also excellent and I love Sabine's theme and Ezra's theme throughout.
Bet Sabine had to spend quite a while in a bacta tank. Good thing she got medical attention right away.
Corvus?
Seatos! Okay. And a "reflex point"? Color me intrigued.
Loth-kittes aww.
Ahsoka's looooong sigh when she sees that Sabine's been rewatching Ezra's holo, lol.
IS THAT A USB CORD? LOLOL.
A lovely little moment between Hera and SAbine here.
Nightsister ichor!
I am loving the star map.
"Thrawn calls to me... across time and space." Okay lady sure take a cold shower before your crush gets too hot okay.
So there are a LOOOOOT of plot McGuffins in this story thus far lol.
I'm sorry, Shin's actress is so dead I need her to emote more in her quiet scenes, simply being vicious and feral in fights isn't working.
The Phantom II looks so beautiful.
CHOPPER! HELLO MUDERBOT I MISSED YOU.
Oh wow we're actually exploring the fact that rebuilding the New Republic is messy and complicated and you can't just fire and/or jail a bunch of low level civilian machiners just because they worked on Imperial ships.
And we're ALSO getting some hard-handed slapping Ahsoka in the face with the fact that she's a mess and needs to deal with her mess.
"I see you still have your lightsaber." "Ezra's lightsaber."
AW FRICK THE WAY THAT CORRECTION GOT ME.
Filoni I love the messy prickly falling out between Ahsoka and Sabine but I would really like... ONE paragraph of exposition about why Sabine went to Ahsoka and asked to be trained, or however that happened.
I mean I know I can inference that she was desperate to feel closer to Kanan and Ezra and mourning them and trying to be the hero Lothal needed and worked up in her feelings about, "If Ezra's not here to be Lothal's Jedi I have to be." but the general audience might need some help.
OH GOSH THAT LITTLE SWALLOW AS SHE TAKES HER SABER AGAIN AND LOOKS AT IT.
So I'm confused is it that the New Republic was lazy and/or too trusting/too willing to give ex-Imperials another chance just to keep some kind of order and peace and infrastructure in place or are they just that bad at uncovering spies?
Because there is a good point that not everyone who worked for the machine of the Empire has to be rooted out and displaced from their jobs and livelihoods, that just builds resentment, makes it easier for the Imperial Remnant to gain support.
At the same time though I feel like this is tying into the general New Canon "The New Republic is incompetent." trend that I'm not a fan of.
Next setpiece yay!
Love Ahsoka using the droid as a body shield.
LOL CHOPPER.
Oh, have we remembered we need to clear atmosphere BEFORE jumping? Thanks that's great. SW been slacking on that.
Oh what? Oh this is new, hang on the bulleted lists have a character limit.
Where were we?
The new Chopper model is so much more expressive than the one they build before, it looks great. Very much like the cartoon.
SKRUNKLES I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
And cue the Kanan parallel scene with Sabine.
OH FRICK THE SCENE AT THE MEMORIAL I'M NOT READY FOR THIS.
Gimme a minute.
Right so even if you don't ship them, their bond is hugely undeniable, they are in fact the Most Important People to each other, she misses him so much and she's been drowning in her grief about him.
Ngl the finger touch is still getting me.
"It's more me." Frick, how she's been hiding away from her true self, essentially cosplaying as Ezra because she thought that was what Lothal needed, and now she's struggling to understand who she is now.
MY GIRLS ARE MESSY AND EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED AND SO SO FLAWED AND I LOVE IT.
Oh what?
Are they building a hyperspace ring? A special one???
Oh OHHHHHH ARE THEY BUILDING A SUPER STARGATE EQUIVALENT?
(Reference, on the show Stargate SG-1 the plot revolves around a network of alien wormhole transportation devices called stargates, that connect to each other across the galaxy. But to connect to OTHER galaxies you either needed a plot device energy source called a ZPM or YOU HAD TO BUILD A REALLY REALLY BIG HUGE HONKING STARGATE.)
Ohhhhhhhhhhh they are MAKING A SHIP CAPABLE OF EXITING THE GALAXY I WAS RIGHT.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THAT WAS A RUSH.
I am very nicely happy with how things are unfolding, aside from a few nitpicks here and there about the worldbuilding and backstory that's been kept from us. (Ahsoka and Sabine's whole... everything.)
But it does not look like Sabine is Force Sensitive, which I'm glad about. I've seen a couple people salty about her being a Jedi and honestly between the two options of "Make her Sensitive and retcon large parts of Rebels" or "It's a new era, there are No More Rules, we can't be picky about who we take on as Jedi so sure let's have a non-Sensitive, Ahsoka maybe thought it was safer that way anyway", I know which one I'm picking.
The whole plot with the celestial navigation is fascinating. I need to study screencaps of the starmap and the end credits for clues because WOAH BOY DID I NOT EXPECT EXPANDING BEYOND THE GFFA.
Ezra baby come hoooooooooome. :(((( Your girl misses you.
Wew lad, I hope there are plenty of gifsets, 'cause Imma reblog 'em all.

S/I Masterpost
Just so everyone else and I can keep track. To be updated...
Aqua - Transformers/HoSt/HiSw/Helltaker >Aqua (TF:Prime) is just some homeless dude that ended up discovering the Cybertronians. Depending on the affiliation depends on how secretive they are kept and different dynamics. However on the Autobot’s side they live on the base as they have nowhere else to be. She can be seen as acting as a voice of reason to the kids, and generally tries their hardest to help when possible. >Aqua (TF: Animated/R.I.D/G1) is just a chill guy minding their business. Turns out randomly discovering alien robots can be pretty fun if not possibly stressful as Hell. >Aqua (TF: Bayverse) has firmly been an Autobot supporter since the beginning and revels in getting to know these cool bots. His moral compass is more grey and just wants to pick fights with the government at any opportunity. >Aqua(HoSt/HiSw) takes place in those AUs from the old DeviantArt days where the trolls come to Earth are just vibing and adjusting to society. >Aqua (Helltaker) is a thrill seeker that likes to ghost hunt and just so happens to come across a portal to Hell. Upon falling in he meets The Helltaker and they team up for a demon girl ‘harem’. Let’s be real, it becomes a found family dynamic too quickly.
Azura - Kekkai Sensen >A bartender who works rather close to the agency and keeps an ear and eyes out for the agency for any info or leads. Their blood technique allows them to create crystalline structures, sharpened weapons, and if an enemy is distracted can even crystallize them for a short term. He’s an endless source of advice and loves to help those that come through the bar.
Blaze - Pokémon >Blaze is a simple trainer who constantly is getting put in situations by forces outside his control. He has a passion for battles and a fondness for competitions when the occasion arises. He’ll never miss a chance for a battle as he loves to show off his Pokémon's skills in battle.
Dusk - Friday Night Funkin' >Dusk is a close friend of GF(Roxanne) who eventually was adopted by the Dearest family as their odd-ball son. He can frequently be found tagging along with GF and BF when they aren’t on dates. Shockingly he can’t really sing, but instead claims to tag along for other’s battles as “Morale Support”. Has a 9 - 5, but his passion lies in art which they do pursue in their spare time. All the money he makes is easily more spent on his friends than himself, but that’s fine when your adoptive parents give you a monthly allowance that is basically your rent.
Myst - Splatoon >A friendly veteran squid by the name of Myst with the catch-all pronouns of He/They/She. From a nondescript town somewhere south of Inkopolis, but has seen most of Inkadia in his travels. Works at a local venue in Splatsville where they meet the latest musical talents. (Credit to @sleepyship for this excerpt)
Nova - Madness Combat >Nova awoke with very little memories of his life prior to the Madness over taking Nevada, but still he gets along in life as best he can. At first they spent many days just trying to get by until being come across by Sanford and Deimos. Once the two men decided he wasn’t a threat, and seemed more than competent to help, they let him tag along.
Rill - Pikmin >Rill works at the same company as Olimar and Louie, focusing more in the actual office/factory area. However, he also gets some jobs to transport from time to time. Especially with larger orders. Upon a trip to PNF-404 to assist Olimar and Louie on an odd job for more treasures and surveying. Rill enjoys the planet so much. Despite being mostly lonely when on the planet, they take great comfort with the Pikmin nearby.
"Spooks" - Horror Sona >-
Swift - No Straight Roads >Your average NSR worker busting their ass to make ends meet while pursuing their passion in the spare time they have. No one is quite sure what they are, and they seemingly refuse to elaborate upon being asked because they always seemingly get distracted. While they don’t agree with all of NSR’s protocols or general vibes, he can’t argue with the pay.

tell me your thoughts on something (anything) (talk for as long or as short as you want)
:)
ok i've been looking for a reason to talk about this for a while and im just gonna go off the rails here
i recently started watching Colin LooksBack's disney villain retrospectives and I'm so damn obsessed with them. I've mentioned this before, I'm a disney fan through and through. No matter how much I painfully despise so many of their recent movies, nostalgia and the hope of finding something as good as their classics keeps me coming back, as disappointed as I am with their recent features from all sides of the company
I'm especially a disney history fan, I love learning about the first few decades of this company for some reason, their movies from that time aren't even my favorites but just all the old concept art and ideas from the imagineers is so cool to me. Mary Blair's work specifically, her art for Cinderella is stunning.
Disney villains specifically have just always been amazing to me. I was obsessed with Ursula as a kid, I thought she was the coolest freaking character. I love her design, her voice is amazing, I adored her then and I still do.
If we're talking about disney content creators though? Avelo (formerly known as Dreamsounds) has my heart and soul. Her videos are everything to me, they got me through covid. I was so sad when she left when she was getting her bottom surgery, worried she'd never return. I audibly gasped when I saw her return video show up on my recommended because I love her videos that much, and still do, even if it's not as disney focused.
I dunno, I think my disney obsession and Kingdom Hearts obsession go hand in hand (hah, that's a kingdom hearts song). I mean KH and disney are tied together by nature, but I got into KH for the disney. I found my moms old kh1 copy a while ago and I wished I could have the chance to play it on the ps2 (which we sadly don't have anymore). I haven't ever finished kh1, the controls are too clunky and I hate that stupid fucking camera. Even still, it's a game that matters to me a lot. KH2 does more for me in the end though, I reset the game so often just to play through Roxas's section in twilight town. it's nostalgic, not even just for playing kh but it's the type of fun me and my friends would have during our summer vacation. seeing roxas's life fall apart is scary because in some way i relate, the friendship he had with hayner, pence, and olette in the data twilight town wasnt real, and neither were my friendships with those people.
back to more regular disney, i fucking love the disney parks. honestly im so nostalgic for fastpass, i miss needing to go up to those little stands and put it on some card. i hate genie+ and lightning lane because it feels much less personal, so do the disney parks in general for me now. maybe it's because i'm getting older, i wouldnt be surprised if that was the case. even still, i love going. i mean cinderellas castle is my damn wallpaper (godddd i love that wallpaper so much....) and there are multiple of these "disney parks music" videos that i will actively use to fall asleep because idk nostalgia is a bitch. the boardwalk one is a personal favorite of mine, something about it just hits for me. me and my family went right after covid started to slow down, the boardwalk was having a soft opening and we got in for cheap. we got this amazing room overlooking the boardwalk itself, and for lack of a better word the vibes were incredible. like... WOW. we drove down, it sucked because it was exhausting and i cant be in small spaces like that for too long, but in the end it could've been worse. i had given myself this challenge to watch all the disney movies before going, i finished encanto on that drive. it's what got me back into so many of them, treasure planet specifically. it feels like every year ill just find myself obsessing over one specific disney movie around this time, last year it was tp and the tinkerbell movies. this year id say it's alice in wonderland, which ive had an obsession with for years. it's just a plotless fun movie with memorable characters that mean something to me. i dunno, im a sucker for anything nostalgic, twisted is my favorite starkid show for a reason, and i don't just love kh for it's crazy plot and characters (although that's most of it)
sorry this is REALLYYY long.....

Is there significance to the time key headcanon? In other words, what inspired that and how do time keys work?
For anyone who doesn't know what this means, in my fanfics, Fairies can physically remove memories from their heads and store them inside magical boxes for later. Fairies do this a lot, which was my way of playing with that one line from "Let Sleeper Dogs Lie" about how Fairies are notoriously forgetful.
I don't consider that episode canon since it contradicts a crucial / memorable episode ["The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker"] and it pushes against the world lore itself, but every now and then I like to make fun of the "forgetful Fairies" joke.
Also, Anti-Fairies as a culture are extremely against removing their memories this way. You'll often see Anti-Cosmo bragging in my writing about how Anti-Fairies have infallible memories.
I THINK this idea of mine can be traced back to the Giant French Doors of Time: the original method of travel to the Hocus Poconos before the Fairy Elder redecorated in "Timmy's Secret Wish." Since they were called "doors of time" and Father Time himself appeared in this episode, I think I put that together to imply you can walk through those doors to time travel and you need a certain type of key to have a certain level of clearance. A wooden key lets you view the past without altering it, a silver key lets you do a bit more, a gold key a bit more, etc. Hence, "time keys" (plus an explanation of different in-universe time travel rules).
I think that's where it comes from, but I may have taken inspiration from a few other points over the years. For example:
~ Writing fanfics and needing to show photos from time periods where cameras didn't exist. Like, during Cosmo and Wanda's high school years (for their yearbooks) or when they were godparents to Erg 50k years pre-series.
I have a certain technology level I like Fairy World to develop at (and they usually develop tech by stealing ideas from godkids on various planets), so I played around with the idea that Fairies could generate a physical copy of a scene in front of them as a "photo." It's usually described in my works as a "frozen moment from the timestream" or as a "memory" in some way.
~ The opening of Timmy's Secret Wish depicts Timmy and Cosmo using keys to open a treasure chest. Nothing else to say; it just fits the vibe.
~ "77 Secrets of the Fairly OddParents Revealed" claims that Cosmo's greatest secret is that he's an "author of distinction." It even specifically says Cosmo wrote Astrophysics for Morons: a book that appeared in the "Shelf Life" episode.
Apparently this is a huge secret and he doesn't like talking about it... which I LOVE playing with because of the fact that the Fairies claim in "Wishology" that stars are actually fairies with wands. This implies that it's Very Not Okay for Cosmo to be pro-astrophysics instead of pro-fairy, but that's another can of worms.
I love playing with the idea that Cosmo struggles a lot with his past, his Not Okay beliefs, and his memories. We'll see more of that in Frayed Knots and/or the 130 Prompts and other stories at a later time.
In my one-shot "Repeat," Jorgen confronted Cosmo and told him to come with him to a safe place so he wouldn't be hunted down, and Cosmo accused Jorgen of preparing to blast his memories out the moment his back was turned. Cosmo held his wand to his head and threatened to erase his own memories so Jorgen wouldn't get the satisfaction (due to a crap ton of unresolved issues he has with Jorgen because of baby ban conflicts). While I didn't show what happened next, this is just a big moment of Cosmo backstory in my 'verse that I really like.
Present-day Cosmo in my verse is still dealing with a LOAD of issues, especially regarding his memories because his brain's pretty scrambled and he deals with a lot of trauma, guilt, postpartum depression, and stuff like that, but it all comes back to this idea of Fairies removing memories from their heads.
~ Also, I like playing with wacky Fairy anatomy. I already made things like Wanda's radar, H.P.'s laser canon, and even Cosmo's empty head shell - all of which are kept in their forehead domes - totally canon parts of Fairy anatomy by saying that Fairies don't have hearts in my Classic 'verse. Instead they have "cores," which develop into physical objects that represent them.
If you can develop enamel in your forehead that allows your body to form an object that represents your personality, it's definitely not out of the question for you to physically remove memories from your head.
It's kind of a weird piece of worldbuilding and lore but there you go, that's the story behind why it's there. Mostly for things like photo albums, ha ha.

Disney ask game:
💖 Favorite movie?: honestly it's hard for me. But i love all the classics. But hunchback of Notre dame, beauty and the beast, sleeping beauty, snow white, mulan, and i know it's unpopular opinion but i loved pocahontas for two reasons. One i had zero to nothing for representation growing up knowing and having native background (now i might have better rep but again this was younger me) and two i just liked it face value. And that's ok. I know the real history, and i can like AND give valid criticism for a piece of media. Oh and i love treasure planet, and princess and the frog. Underrated af movies.
💕 Favorite underrated movie/show?: like i said treasure planet and princess and the frog.
💀 Least favorite movie?: i don't know. Im not really a fan of "modern" disney films. It's not that they aren't fun or good. It's just they dont have the same charm ya know? Plus older disney movies weren't afraid to get raw and real. Like bro,we aint never getting another hunchback of Notre dame.
🖌 2D animation or 3D animation?: i prefer 2d but some 3d is fine.
🌄 What movie has the prettiest animation?: honestly i can't say. There's too many i love.
🎶 Which movie has the best music?: hunchback, the lion king, mulan, beauty and the beast, honestly there's too many. I'd say hunchback has the best overall ost. Because holy shit. Im not religious by any means, not heavily at least(i do believe but not by the book but by my heart) but church choir and those chants and deep bells give me goosebumps every time.
📣 Which remake is the best?: honestly not many remakes and sequels of disney work. Some are ok but poorly executed.
🤡 Which remake is the worst?: ok as for sequels. Hunchback because of it felt like a pity movie for quasi and i hated it. As for live action remakes i dont like any of em. But beauty and the beast because i just do not like emma watson. I dont hate her,i just dont like her vibe. *shrug*
🪄 If you could change 3 things about any movies/shows, what would you change?: honestly lemme get really real for a sec. There is several movies id change but i wanna change that quasi and esmie get together in the end. Thats all i ask. And i want gaston punted into the sun. Im very simple to please.
🎥 If you could create/star in a remake, what would you do?: honestly i dunno. I'd kill it as belle I'd think but eh. I just wanna write my own movie.
🎞 If you could create an original movie, what would it be about?: any movie where the girl doesn't get with the guy. She doesn't need a sidekick. She's just doing her thing. And honestly we can learn a thing or teo from mulan. But if i could. I'd love to make a proper and honest to god movie about samurai. But tastefully done. Tome gozen movie anyone? Or a simple movie about friendship. And the importance of it. And platonic relationships being just as important as Romantic ones.
🎨 Have you ever made fanart? (Share if you’re comfortable and it’s sfw!): yes. But not much. As of yet. I'll share when i get something i feel is worth to share.
🦜 Favorite animal sidekick?: honestly i dunno. Iago is adorkable. R.i.p Gilbert godfrey. I miss you. There's too many i like and think is adorable and fun but i dont really pay attention to that when i watch a disney movie. I pay attention to vibes. You feel with disney my dudes.
💃 Favorite character?: too many to list. Fr. I just have too many i think is just neat and deserve a seat at the table. ♡ my fave villains however are judge claude frollo, falicifer, hades, cruella(the real one not the prequel weird one they made),Ursula(my beautiful sea queen!),jafar, and scar. Sorry im a villains kinda gal more than a princess gal.
