I don’t think anything happened between luke and nic bc they are too comfortable with each other and they really adore each other. I would assume if anything did happen there would be some tension between them, and not in a good way.

I think nic is really good at flirting (she herself said so) and warm & touchy person in general. You can tell she loves him and really cares for him. Being the witty marketing queen and great actor, she just played into all those things and it wasn’t really hard for her because again, she already loves luke as a person and flirty in general. Most of the times she was genuine with her actions but every now and then I could tell she did things on purpose because she was very aware that polin fans had been dissecting their actions and make something of every little piece. Like for instance that fluff picking/hair stroking thing was one of those rare occasions she gave herself away, at least for me. You can see her face is kinda teasing and shy even before she reaches his forehead. She definitely knew what she was doing and unlike other times she couldn’t keep it in and broke her character. But apart from those rare moments she did an excellent job, so much so everybody thought they were together (including myself lol).

Luke on the other hand, isn’t that great at pretending I think, and not that witty. He is an amazing actor don’t get me wrong but when outside of the set I think he is mostly being himself (or a mixed version of himself with colin on a subconscious level). I think most of the times he was clueless and acted instinctive rather than playing into their bond and putting a PR stunt. You could see sometimes he does something but in just a second regrets and takes it back. Like trying to sit closer to nic, putting his arm behind nic while they are sitting but taking it back immediately, or him saying he could be ken to nic but realizing what he’s saying and stopping mid sentence.

And all these make me think that luke was more genuine in the sense that displaying nonplatonic affection. And sometimes I could sense he was nervous, probably both bc of his anxiety and the fear of giving himself away in terms of being into nic. I think he tried to stay reserved whereas nic was just being her extrovert PR queen self.

But I don’t think luke has faced his feelings for nic at all. That’s why probably he even finds it frustrating that people think they are in love. I kinda get the feeling that he is in denial. I don’t think what he and A has a situationship, he probably cares about her but not enough. I don’t think he is a bad man at all, I think he is considered, carefull, emotionally intelligent and overall a good person. But not mature enough maybe?

These are all mere speculations and product of my delusions of course :D But after months of staying in this delulu train, watching every interview countless times, being totally consumed by them this is my final conclusion. I hope luke faces his feelings, nic develops the same feelings towards him and they get together. And I hope my mental health gets better and I stop being consumed by celebs or fictional characters 😭😭😭

The bucktommy shippers really don’t understand anything related to this show to a baffling degree. A lot of them have literally just started watching the show since bi Buck became canon and they just have no clue what they’re talking about. I have been here since the beginning of season 3, and have been a dedicated Buddie shipper not because I just want to see men kiss but because they genuinely have the potential to be an amazing queer slowburn and their chemistry is top tier. Anyway I just want to say a few things.

Firstly, we don’t dislike the finale because of one 55 scene bffr. We dislike the finale because it took away a daughter from a lesbian couple and gave her to a straight couple (albeit probably temporarily), because the pacing was super weird and nothing seemed to have any emotional weight, and because they brought back a geriatric racist misogynist freak of a man for no reason.

Also the “Ryan doesn’t want Eddie to be gay” stuff is nonsense. Ryan is literally the person who came up with Buddie as a shipname, I’m dead serious him and Oliver were discussing what it would be and Ryan picked Buddie! He’s been supportive of the ship since the very beginning. He’s always said that he’s open to the possibility of Buddie happening. Him referring to Eddie as heterosexual means literally nothing because Oliver was also obviously not calling Buck bi before it became canon in the show. Ryan calls Eddie hetero because that’s canon, he can’t just say whatever he has to stick to what is shown in the show. Also they’re very conveniently forgetting the interviews with Ryan that were released after the finale in which he says that Eddie is no longer looking for a mother for Chris, that with Buck he can see what it’s like to have someone at his side to always have his back as opposed to how it was with his ex-wife, and he also used the word partner and referred to Eddie’s future love interest in a gender neutral way.

On top of that Oliver is a very transparent guy, he’s an actor but he can’t pretend to like people or storylines for the life of him. When Buck was together with Taylor, Oliver made it very clear how much he hated that ship on his social media. Now with BuckTommy he never shares or interacts with anything from that ship, the only time he did was some fanart of their first kiss and that makes a lot of sense because that’s when bi Buck became canon. But since then, not a word from him, the only things he posts and interacts with are Buddie related or just more generally related to the whole show. It’s very clear what his preference is, and even though he isn’t the writer he’s still number 3 on the call sheet and if he cannot be bothered to put his all into BuckTommy scenes because he hates that ship, eventually the writers won’t really have a choice.

Also anyone with common sense can tell after that finale that Buddie are endgame, it’s so incredibly clear which ship has the chemistry and emotional depth to last in the long-term, and it’s not the ones in that 55 second scene.

My main concern with this entire discourse, is that people are putting words into the acotrs' mouths and share it as factual.

I don't have much to add due to my extremely limited (to zero) knowledge but yesterday I watched another episode from s6 (I tune in whenever they show a random episode at 2am 😭) where Buck passed out on Eddie's couch as he was getting them beers and that was such a cute, intimate scene!! I can definitely see the chemistry between the characters.

So I have to ramble about something for a second…. I went to see Andrew Scott in Vanya in London on Saturday…. I honestly think I’m still in shock…. Because I got to meet him too 🥹 I’ve been internally screaming since then. Like honestly. I don’t even know what to do with myself. But now I’m finally back home from London and can think a little bit clearer. Just a bit though 🫠🙃🤭

Going to see him on stage was already a bucket list item I got to check off. I’ve been dying to see him in a play in person and, my god, he didn’t disappoint. He was absolutely incredible! Spectacular. The fact that one man has so much stamina and emotional energy to play all of these characters by himself for almost 2 hours and make it funny and exciting and heartbreaking but somehow uplifting with no breaks at all… At one point he sits on the stage and sings “If You Go Away”, the English version of that Jacque Brel song and I nearly cried. It was so beautiful. And he has such a lovely voice! He really can do it all. I wish I could have stayed in London longer. I’d absolutely see it again in a heartbeat. Anyway! I continue to stand by the statement that he is one of the greatest actors of our time. I will die on this hill 😌

But then I actually met him…

I think I can now confidently say he may be the sweetest man on earth. Being a fan of his for awhile, I had no doubt… But he was just so… wow! You know how people say to never meet your heroes? Well, fuck that. Meeting mine was everything.

I’m pretty shy in general and knew for sure it’d be ten times worse in front of someone like Andrew who I admire so much, but I lined up anyway. First of all, there were so many people in line and he was so generous with his time! I was towards the front so I didn’t even see where the line ended but I’m pretty sure he stayed until every single person got their program signed! He was genuinely so friendly and chatting to people when he could while his security tried to keep the line moving. Of course when I got up to him, there was no way I was able to say anything but thank you. Luckily my mother, who tagged along with me to the play, did all the talking for me. Moms really are the best, aren’t they? We ended up having a whole damn conversation with him! I honestly don’t even know how it happened.

He’s so soft spoken and just… delightful! There’s no other way to describe him. At one point, my mom mentioned my Fleabag “It’ll pass” tattoo and since it’s on my wrist, I showed him quickly. I don’t know what I expected exactly, but he was like “oh my god that’s amazing!” I melted. Then he goes, “You know that’s my handwriting, right?” and I just about fuckin fainted. I told him yes of course I know and made a combination of these faces: 😭🥹🥰 Like for real. I have no doubt I looked like a complete idiot while this was happening. Because of course I had no words to explain that I got it in his handwriting because of how much he and the show have inspired me. I may have slightly blacked out actually. I don’t think I’ll ever be the same, y’all. And now every time I look at my tattoo I can only hear him asking me about it 😂🙈

(Feel free not to post this since you don’t like talking about him, which is totally fair).

There’s a reason why so many people “thirst” over Joe or care so much about him or find him more attractive than he probably is, and that reason is Taylor. If we take for a moment everything at face value (I’m NOT saying this is how things are, I’m saying that this is how most people interpret the facts/the lyrics), Joe does come off pretty much as an angel, through Taylor’s eyes. Which is not to say that he is, but c’mon... you can’t blame fans for being all hung up on Joe when Taylor, aka a person most of us have been a fan of for more than a decade, a person we appreciate, we admire and care about, is literally saying “your integrity makes me seem small” about him. When someone I admire admires someone else, I end up admiring that person too, it’s a case of transitive property.

When friend of mine says “I met this guy and I think you’d like him”, I automatically assume he’s great even if I haven’t met him yet. Or when someone who studies literature at college tells me to read a specific book I assume it’s a quality read even if I haven’t read it yet.

And it’s even easier to see Joe through Taylor’s eyes given that we know close to nothing about him. People find him attractive and amazing and gorgeous and everything else because he’s the man behind CIWYW, Lover, peace... not (necessarily) because he’s an actor from London.

It’s always funny to me how people are like “Joe is amaziiiiiiiing!!!” and then they reveal that they don’t even know what his voice sounds like.

I don’t want to discredit him because I genuinely do believe he’s great even besides what Taylor says, but most people love Joe because Taylor does, and she paints such pretty pictures with her words, you can’t really blame them haha. The way people adore him is a testament to how much they adore Taylor, imo (again, not always, he has fans of his own; just most of the time)

I back and forthed on posting this and went with no at first but I think it’s an important point and a healthy attitude. We stan the positivity. Let’s have more positivity in 2021.

Like I don’t think most of Tay’s fans care about Joe the person (no offense, we’re all sure he’s a good, fun time). It’s about what he means to her. You’re right. He’s a simulacrum.

And I think those of us on this blog generally tend to be the bitchy friend already, like when our friend goes “you’ll love my new guy” us bitches on here go “giiiiirl, will we really or are you just enjoying the dicking?” which is partly why we back and forth and struggle with this Swiftwyn business 😭😂😂😂😂 Coz like she does seem like she’s exaggerating. And if my mate went on about her boyfriend in this way I’d eye roll but I acknowledge I’m a lil mean but like I run a gossip blog and have done professional takedowns wbk I’m a bit mean.

I think the point is Joe - like Taylor - is a complicated character. She clearly cares a huge amount about him. But he’s obviously flawed and imperfect. It’s fair that she doesn’t put that shit on blast. But he’s not ONLY an angel. But like also neither is she.

Most fans don’t want to see that.

I love her more - same as I love friends more - for imperfections. But that’s me and I know I’m in the minority and this is an important explanation as to why people who (as anon says) don’t actually give a fuck about Joe lay themselves down on the line for him.
