We got baby/childhood panel of Daniel, Jake, Zack, Johan, and recently Gun.
I can't stop think on how cute and chubby baby Gun is lol
Lookism 520 spoiler!
Lol. This feels very duality of man. Baby Gun coming out with UI made me lol.
Ok, gather round for Ramyeon's retelling of chapter 520.
So PTJ, with his fondness for SAD backstories cooked up one for Gun. And while it's not terrible and I didn't get food poisoning, it's tasting a bit bland because everyone is getting a SAD backstory and it's getting old y'know?
Onto the chapter-
Everyone is in love with Daddy Yamazaki, and for some reason that is bad and all the ladies chop their pinkies off to idk repent for their sins or something but even though the relationship appears to be consensual because he's had sex consensually with them all, it's still the women's fault.
In the end, the great big kind man that Daddy Yamazaki is lets them all carry his kids. Thank the heavens.
Daddy Yamazaki has Smaller Bro Yamazaki who also has a son btw (Haruto) - this is sort of important but it's hard to really feel much for them cos the son character (Haruto) has just been introduced in this chapter and will be likely killed off soon.
Anyway, I digress.
All the babies born are unimpressive so far. And you may think wtf how are babies unimpressive. Babies are just babies. Well, that's because Gun comes whooshing out the (Korean) womb with UI. Bro has built in UI from the start, kinda an impossible standard to reach so fine I get why the other babies are unimpressive.
Although if all the babies are unimpressive apart from Gun, the common denominator here is Daddy Yamazaki so maybe everyone should point the finger at him instead. Hmmm.
The chapter fast forwards to show Gun is a prodigy, he masters his training. He's only five and a kid, so he plays around with his friend but gets slapped by his mother for being a kid because it's not becoming of a future gang leader.
So even though he's FIVE, he still gets told to 'act accordingly' lol.
I think there's another timeskip, or PTJ really has lost the plot and forgotten what five year olds look like (tbh he has forgotten what 'elementary school' aged kids look like too) and Gun, genius that he is and following his mother's words takes down all the gangs in ONE DAY. WHEW.
But, PTJ is trying to desperately show it's nurture not nature. Gun wanted normal things but has been moulded to become a monster.
Gun's mother praises him for his violence and his deeds, and Gun wonders 'Huh, if mother dearest loves when I fight, and I must fight to be loved, what happens if I'm violent towards her?'. He punches her and gets praised for it.
Please see above point.
And another fast forward in time (presumably) to Gun trying to squish butterflies like the maniac he is.
Anyway, remember Smaller Bro Yamazaki's kid, Haruto, that was mentioned? Well he's the only one throughout that looked at Gun as if he was normal and told Gun he was free to do as he wants. He doesn't have to fight. Or have to be a leader if he doesn't wanna.
And sweet lil Gun doesn't really wanna, so he makes up his mind and tells Smaller Bro Yamazaki.
Smaller Bro Yamazaki loses his shit and is all who the fuck told you this nonsense. Gun snitches on Haruto, and this snitch doesn't get stitches and instead Haruto does when Smaller Bro Yamazaki tells Gun to kill Haruto. His own father tells Gun to kill HIS kid!
Dun dun dun CLIFFHANGER!
Overall very sad, very unfortunate. But please see my first point about PTJ's cooking.
I'm assuming in the coming chapters Haruto gets killed off. I would be super surprised if he doesn't because Gun, despite me being delusional and thinking he's just a sweet lil blorbo, is something of a murderous psychopath. It's more fitting of his character if he just kills off Haruto even if he has a moment of hesitation or any regrets.
Hope that helps!

I went off script. I needed to procrastinate.
Ok look. So, and stay with me here, @miradelletarot posted a kiss roulette and then @waterdeep-weavemoss posted an ask and I realized that Mira might want to read snippets instead of getting asks so I asked an RNG to give me a prompt and I got #21 first but I dun wanna choose that’s why I wanted a RNG in the first place!!!!!11!!
So I asked again and here is #5: "A firm kiss". Not beta read, written in an hour, so forgive me if there are typos.
Pairing: Gale x gn!Reader (undescribed other than you're shorter than Gale)
Wordcount: 1k
CW: Blood, wounds, all the gross things you find in Orin's temple. Spoilers for Act 3.
(Dividers by cafekitsune)
The pounding in your head is the first thing you notice as consciousness enters your mind. The pounding of your head, and then rapidly the smell of refuse and blood. The stone slab that served as your place of rest was uncomfortable at best, and the lack of support to your hips and neck and knees offers secondary pain. The next sensation was skin rubbed raw against your wrists and ankles, and those superficial wounds were the first things that were tingling as Shadowheart’s sixth level Heal poured into the cracks and aches and throbbing pain. Your eyes still refused to open, your body denying the trauma of your incarceration.
“They're okay!” you hear Karlach shout from somewhere to your right, as a blast of heat rolls over you from the same direction. You’d fixed her arcane engine, so it couldn’t have been your dearest tiefling friend approaching. “They're okay! Fringe’s got em!” Another blast, and this time, as you roll a parched tongue over cracked lips, you can taste the sweet smell of the Weave being summoned into a raging conflagration. This time you hear the noise of something exploding, and your eyes fling open at the threat. Your vision is occupied by the darkness of a high ceiling, but a wisp of silver draws your attention to the left where Shadowheart has her eyes closed in concentration. One hand is on your exposed stomach, the sensation of which slowly enters your mind; the other hand is raised with palm pressed forward in prayer, wrapped in Selûne’s white glow.
You realize that your breaths have been shallow, but something in your lung expands under the cleric’s care, and your first deep breath enters your lungs. With it is the smell of death and decay, and the familiar stench of the undercity. The rattling of your breath coincides with the final stages of the spell, and Shadowheart opens her eyes to meet yours. There are tears mussing her eyeliner, the black staining against her pale skin and framed by her paler hair. She collapses on top of you with a sob, her arms pulling your head into her shoulder. Aches and bruises that the Heal could not reach cry out as you snake your arms around her as well, clutching her tightly.
Stomping feet approach from your right, and Shadowheart releases you gently. A month ago she would have shied from such emotion, but there was tenderness in her gaze that hesitantly left your face and looked up. You follow, and Karlach is there with a grin and a hearty slap on Shadowheart’s shoulder. The wince on Shadowheart’s face evokes a chuckle from deep in your belly which only results in more aches. With Karlach’s help, you finally sit up on the stone slab, and then stand. Your feet slough through the remnants of the battle, and the remnants of Orin’s armor and jewelry fail to catch your notice as he sprints up the stairs, Wyll following quickly behind.
Gale stops at the precipice, out of your arms reach, staring. His mouth is open, and if you were on firmer footing you would have made a joke about him being speechless. You can see the tears in his robe, the scorch marks from where the battle has taken its toll on his person. The smell behind you suggests your evocation wizard had destroyed the very memory of this place with a pair of upcast Fireballs. You can see his mind working, his eyes darting to your face and then to your ripped leathers, your bare feet and your hair matted with blood and bile. There is an intense quiet as the others watch, waiting for the ice to break.
“I’m okay,” you finally cough, though your lungs rattle with the effort. “I’ll need some help getting back but —”
He closes the distance before you can finish your sentence. One hand frames your right cheek, the other tangles itself in your hair at the back of your head, and his lips are on yours. Your hands unwrap from holding yourself and clamber desperately to feel him, whining as fingers find his robes and bury themselves. The kiss is bruising against your cracked lips, and you are filthy from your captivity, but Gale shows no sign of minding. His words from the Underdark echo in your mind, and you realize that this isn’t about seeing you in battle but the fact that he thought you were dead and you’re not and you’re alive and you’re kissing him. The hand from your cheek slides down your shoulder and your arm and finds its place on your hip where he digs fingers into your side. It hurts, but it is a pain you find yourself desiring because it means he’s there in front of you and you are well enough to hold him.
This was a far cry from his normal gentle touches, quiet murmurings, easy loving moments. You realize that you had heard the clatter of his staff against the stones, a sin he would have barked at you for performing only a ten-day ago. He had not broached your lips with his tongue, and you found yourself desperate for even the rotten air of the cavern, given the way he was pressed so firmly against your body. When you finally could bear the lack of breath no longer, you unwrap your fingers from his robes and press palms against his chest. A gentle push and he releases your lips and pulls back, refusing to move his hands from your nape and your hip. His eyes dart between yours with concern and fear.
“My love,” he whispers. It comes out as a low whine. You feel your mouth pulling up into a soft smile, and your head tilts gently to the side. Your cheek presses against his bloodied wrist and you close your eyes, taking solace in the simple fact that the two of you stand together. Alone, as it turns out, as Shadowheart and Karlach and Wyll are on their way out of the temple to soothe their own wounds.
You feel Gale’s arm slide along your cheek until his elbow is crooked around the back of your head and you are gathered in the safety of his chest. His neck stretches up until his chin can rest on the top of your head, and you both take several deep breaths until your hearts are settled.
Pain and aches will fade, your cracked lips will heal, and the blood will wash away. Eventually. For now, though, you are whole.

[I mean i guess spoilers for my oneshot. You'll probs be confused without the context efuogrudfh]
Ami draw Narilamb in a happy situation challenge (IMPOSSIBLE!!!)
Sorry folks their suffering is my everyday bread--
*Crowd boos and starts throwing objects at me*
--But this time its good pain!
Ok i lied i did plan a good outcome for What's not eternal. Yes, Narinder randomly re-gains conciousness one day, yes, there is a logical explanation for that, no, i won't list it down here oijfewjf (Maybe in another post or ask)
This week's been crazy. I was planning on continuing writing VTA but just as I set my mind and put a deadline lo and behold, I GOT GROUNDED. Seems like whenever i got a plan the world's just gotta go nuh-uh on me--I also got an artblock and was unable to draw the Lamb properly (This thing took me like 3 sketches to nail down) but we PERSEVERE.
For those who didn't read the fic and are confused why Lamb's reacting that way--well I did warn ye at the beginning so :]
This was a very nice practice for poses and head angles. Also it was pretty entertaining to draw :D Hope you liked it as much as I did. Until next time--!

[SHIBUYA INCIDENT SPOILERS(?)]
Lmao i havent posted in so long but i got some silly little Yuji Itadori x Reader thoughts
Imagine being childhood best friends with Yuji until one day he bid farewell to you as he told you he was moving to another school. You were suspicious on why he was being so secretive about it, but you chose to brush it off. Maybe he needed some time after his grandfather's death.
Though, he only told you one word; Tokyo.
When you and Yuji lived in Sendai, neither of you had phones (confirmed by gege on yuuji's part) so you had planned to send him a handwritten letter multiple times, but it was no use. Especially with the fact that you have no idea where his new address lies. (Even when you've gotten a phone, you can't find his accounts on social media, somehow.)
So you lost touch with him completely after his departure.
After months of those lonely and agonizing thoughts, you've decided to seek answers, or perhaps closure if he had decided that he doesn't want to interact with you anymore.
One day, you've finally arrived at Tokyo with a list of possible highschools Yuji could've been in.
But then shit happens, you get lost and you somehow encounter a strong, cursed spirit that wanted to devour you.
But then, you were 'saved' by Mahito and 'Geto'. Who had beaten the shit out of the curse (Mahito) while the other just... you know, ate it. ('Geto')
You felt like you were in debt towards the two. So you repeatedly thank them while asking about your best friend's whereabouts. Yuji was a bright person that's always remembered by people. They should know or atleast had seen him once, right?
Of course, seeing pictures of Yuji you shown, Mahito wanted to laugh. But he shouldn't, yet. He has plans in store for you upon hearing this information about your relationship with Yuji.
And he tells you that Yuji is familiar with this world of curses while twisting the story. Telling you that he was working for a group of sorcerers that nutured curses and will soon dominate the world. Sounds exaggerating, but when it comes to Yuji, you'd do anything to help him, free him from darkness while unknowingly threading upon the path of darkness yourself.
You joined Mahito and his group. Your mind was set to save the kind Yuji from corruption, while Mahito slowly corrupts your kindness.
Were you fully human, or half-curse? You couldn't remember.
A few months later, you and the rest of the group had successfully sealed Gojo Satoru on October 31, at Shibuya Station.
Hanami and Dagon were destroyed, and you didn't know where Choso, Jogo and Geto went. You were paired with Mahito as he kills a blonde-haired, half-burnt man with no ounce of mercy.
But before the said man died, he turned towards another direction. You've got it from here. Those were his last words.
Realizing that he might've said that to his ally, you ready yourself to destroy the opponent that had just arrived, looking at his direction.
You did not expect that.
You did not expect...
No... Nononononono...
You didn't...
Why does it have to be you?
You didn't expect...
Yuji Itadori
to be your opponent this time.
...
Dun-dun-dun... Ta-da! What do you guys think of the concept? Will this make Yuji suffer? Yep. Will the reader die? Who knows? Not sure if i'll make this a full oneshot one day but i'll keep this in mind i guess. Stay tuned!

Hi
So while procrastinating writing the fic I'm working on, I decided it was time for me to read the Royal Ranger. I only have book one, and I've had it for about a year now, but I never read even the first page. I've heard stuff throughout the fandom about it, but I've tried to stay away from royal ranger specific posts in order to not spoil the book for me.
If you also haven't read it yet and want to avoid spoilers, stop reading now. You've been warned.
Here's the things I knew before reading:
Will has a beard now. This is very controversial.
Alyss dies. She was burned to death. Also very controversial.
Horace and Cassie have a daughter named Maddie. Maddie becomes Will's apprentice.
And that's about it.
I decided that since the Royal Ranger was so hit or miss for the community, I'd document my thoughts on it (as a personal record, if you will) and see how my opinions change, if they change at all. Feel free to laugh at me if I make predictions and they end up being completely wrong lol
I've read the first seven chapters, and here are the main thoughts I have right now.
1. Is Will now just Halt? When he was first being described during the scene with Henry Wheeler, I dead ass thought Flanagan was talking about Halt. I mean, Will is grey already? Like, fully grey. He's described as having a "steel-grey beard." Not grey and brown, just grey. Halt???
2. Alyss' death fit her character well, but why did she have to die? Keep in mind, I was never the biggest fan of Alyss - I thought a character as interesting as a diplomat should have more personality than just "the main character's girlfriend" - but come on? We barely got to see them married. Idk man. I feel like her death would be better justified if they had actually like. been together longer? 10/10 for writing her death though, saving a poor child from death seems really in character for her, especially considering that's pretty much what Baron Arald did for the ward kids (he didn't die for it but still, he saved them from a childhood of neglect and almost certain death). I feel like it's a great wrap to her story, although I wish her story was longer.
3. Crowley was done dirty. What the actual f u c k Flanagan? The Corps Commander, the man, myth, and legend gets a paragraph to explain his death. It's such a lamely written death too? Crowley, a ranger, who was probably in peak health, just nopes out one night. At least he was smiling..? And maybe it's the fact that TEY is my favorite part of the series so far, but Crowley deserved way better than that shit. Also I'm surprised that I managed to not know about Crowley's death before this?? I actually cried reading it. He was such a precious little man in TEY, how could you do this Flanagan???
4. Maddie is a bit of a brat. Not even a bit, she kinda just is. To be fair, Cassie was that way sometimes as well, but Maddie just seems... I don't know, too much of a 'I-do-what-I-want-and-you-can't-stop-me' kinda person, but in a bad way??? Like that one kid in school who would never listen to authority figures and got everyone in trouble all the time? I hope she mellows out because she could be a great character, I think. It's said she takes after her mom, but I'd like to see her act like Horace too.
5. Gilan. Just Gilan. What?? I never liked his relationship with Jenny much, he seems quite a bit too old for her (at least 5 years, most likely quite a bit more since Halt had a few years between Gilan and Will), but he's so relentless in asking her to marry him? Huh??
And also, BOLD of Flanagan to assume Gilan would be hesitant about letting a girl into the corps. This man has traveled with Cassie. He's traveled with Lydia from Brotherband. He knows women are capable. I mentioned not liking his and Jenny's relationship, but like. he even respects her. She's a business woman, she owns her own restaurant. No one can possibly convince me that Gilan doesn't drink his respect-women juice DAILY. It feels out of character for him.
6. Poor Duncan. That's the end of the sentence.
7. Those guards are hysterical. Ah, yes, let's just casually not mention or try to stop the princess sneaking in and out of the castle even though this could end really really badly. Perfect logic.
And yeah that's all I got right now. I'm very excited to see how my opinions so far change! I'll document them here too in case anyone cares. Feel free to reblog with your own RR opinions and the like! I'd love to see what you guys think of my takes lol
#rangers apprentice#ranger's apprentice#halt o'carrick#will treaty#crowley meratyn#horace altman#gilan davidson#princess cassandra#maddie altman#king duncan#the royal ranger#royal ranger#what's RR's tag even? i hope i put the right one#opinions#spoilers!!

Emily of New Moon Book Club Chapters 9 and 10
I'm caught up again! (Spoilers: It will not last.)
Chapter 9
I find it odd, in comparison to LMM's other books, that Emily's schoolmates are rarely if ever seen after these first scenes. It's as though Emily collects 3 people and then decides no one else is worth mentioning again. I want to know what happened to Grace and Carrie and Jennie!
Oh those letter bills! I know exactly how she felt. My parents were of the mind of Aunt Elizabeth, that extraneous paper was not needed in the house. I can still remember my joy when I came solely into possession of a whole sheaf of paper for an old model dot matrix printer. No one had one, so the paper was useless to everyone but me, and it lasted me for ages. Every time I read this bit of Emily I remember how I gloated over that heavy stack.
'I wrote Ellen Greene and asked about him [Mike, her cat] and she replyed and never mentioned Mike but told me all about her roomatism. As if I cared about her roomatism.'
Again, Emily retreats and soothes her hurt feelings by imagining out her death - by drowning this time - to make Aunt Elizabeth feel guilty. Honestly, me at ten 😂
I'm glad the aunts' reactions didn't kill her attempts at poetry! I would've been flattened.
Yay, she can read the books at New Moon! After the first night when Aunt Elizabeth scolded her, I could only imagine her face pressed against the glass door fronts wistfully looking at all the books.
And I laugh every time at her attempting to emulate the saint and it going badly, while she wraps up with, 'So I know it wouldn't work. Besides, I like to eat.'
I wonder what types of things Laura does on the sly? Her suggestion to Emily always seems to be to do what she likes, just don't let Elizabeth find out.
Chapter 10
Ooo the birthday party chapter, always so painful!
I forgot this was the same chapter where Emily puts on Archibald's face for the first time! Poor Aunt Elizabeth - he must have been truly awful if even a glimpse of him makes her flee. And yet, she used to argue with him despite that - I wonder what an Elizabeth of New Moon book would be like?
Dun dun dun, 'Aunt Elizabeth's time had come.'

If Child Reader actually stayed with Vulgrim and wasn’t discovered so soon, I think she would have some uncle/niece relationship with him along with Auntie Dis! Would it be child labor if she helped him with his shop in exchange for food, clothes, and sleep until he finds a way back to Earth? Though, the reactions of the Horsemen when they see S/O just when they want to shop at Vulgrim’s and she’s just like, Hi! 🤗Would be pretty hilarious.
Anon… no joke… but I have that exact dynamic in mind for child reader, Vulgrim and Dis! Legit an uncle/niece/auntie and all it’s beginning glory in Guide Her Way Home part 5!
(Though Dis is set on being called Mama Dis.. SPOILERS!)
Vulgrim would have taken her with him, considering her circumstances. Dis would be over the fucking moon having the lil bub around. ☺️ and yes that would be what she calls you: Lil’ Bub. And as for child labour… not according to Vulgrim and the laws of his domain it’s not. DUN DUN. Now he wouldn’t be like over exerting her or anything, he’d just kinda treat her like that pet he isn’t all lovely dovie fawning over/little assistant. As for Strife and War’s reaction to seeing reader is the VOID of all places…. Yeah, it would be pretty hilarious. 😂
GUIDE HER WAY HOME: A LITTLE HELPER (What If...?)
◤✘DARKSIDERS REQUESTS | CATALOGUE (Platonic!) Vulgrim + Dis x Female Child!Reader, feat. Strife and War
────────────────────────
Yes, when the demon trader found you wandering on your lonesome, it was something of an odd happening. How you managed to slip through a serpent hole is his guess. It was hard enough trying to set those pesky summoning rings with the Earth’s intense ward that protected it from any interfering entities. He’s thought that it would have healed right up like a wound.
However, you managed to prove his theory incorrect. When the Horsemen were nowhere to be found, he decided to return to the confines of the void, beckoning you to follow him.
And that his how you became the estranged yet adopted child of the Soul Eater. More, however, you were something of a niece to him than a daughter… or a pest.
Vulgrim often had you complete simple tasks for him or to follow him around. To observe what he was doing. In exchange for food, new clothes and a safe place to remain until he could somehow get you back home, you were to become his little helper. Many would consider this utterly cruel of the demon trader until they see you, a keen little thing that would skip behind him, humming loudly to yourself. The darkened, silken mists and liquefied atmosphere of the void would ripple from the sound.
Sometimes he would be traversing the platforms, hovering with his usual hunched frame and talon-like hands curled together in deep, pondering thought; meanwhile you would happily be latched hold of the tunic about his waist that almost grazed the floor and be dragged along.
It was a fun little game that proved to be unending amusement for Dis and very little to Vulgrim.
“What have you got there, Lil Bub?” Dis says with a low, interested hum as she narrows her focus on the book you’re carrying. “Vulgim wants this one,” you say, small palm smacking the leather-bound cover.
“Well you bring that right on to him, now.” Her arms reach down to gently coheres you into the direction that Vulgrim would be. “Go on, now.”
You sat atop a small ledge, overseeing Vulgrim’s work at the cauldron. He put many strange and mysterious objects in, some making you curiously dip your nose down to see it closer or made you all icky and squirmy.
The book rested against its leaning podium, opened to the book’s centre to reveal a list of ingredients, scribbled texts and drawn illustrations. There was much you didn’t understand, but Vulgrim would turn to the makeshift shelf you were upon, already training you to commit each jar and threaded bundle to memory.
“The jar of imp teeth, youngling and the stock of dried, blood leaves.” His finger angled sharply to the far end of the shelf, watching closely as you moved about. You would shuffle and move along to the jar and pushed it closer to him.
As your reward for helping him craft a powerful potion, he presented you with a loaf of bread which you happily ate with some water, and a small cloak to replace the ratted scarf you still wore from when he first found you. It was soft, comfortable and warm. He then picks you up to retrieve you from the shelf, hesitatingly and sneering.
“Thank you, Uncle Vulgim!” You grin widely and wrap your arms around him to envelop him in a hug. Your soul radiates with that pulsating shine that he winced from, growling to himself to the raw intensity of it. Half the time he had begun draping a veil of blindfold over his eyes just so he wouldn’t be blinded from it. The random moments where that glowing light penetrated through the void, almost burning it.
“Naw, ain’t that the sweetest thing?” Dis chuckles, having floated over to collect the potion that the horsemen would be coming to collect soon along with their usual supplies.
Vulgrim snarls, sharp and aggressive but you don’t flinch at the noise. Dis has to practically peel you from Vulgrim and he nestled to close to her front, her dark nails tender to poke your nose with an affectionate boop.
“Auntie Dis!” You beam, giggling and your small hands reach out to pat and grab at the beautiful curve of her horns. She chuckles again, her lips parted open to produce the sound louder this time. “Now, how’s about you come and help me? We have a few things to get in order for our most recent and important fellas.”
“Okay!”
Vulgrim watches as Dis takes you with her, his breath stifled in the lithe and rattling channel of his shrivelled ribcage as you wave over Dis’ shoulder at him, still grinning.
“I help you soon Uncle Vulgim!”
Dis had left you — just for a moment. She assured you that she would be quick. Vulgrim had sputtered out a strong usage of demonic cusses that Dis found fitting to cover your ears from despite you not being able to understand. She didn’t want you knowing any of those words anytime soon. Apparently during the creation of another potion, something went amiss and Dis needed to help the demon trader turn around his mistake.
“Now, if our customers get here…”
You point at the bottle. “I give ‘em thwis”
“That’s my girl.” Dis is careful whenever she’d pinch the cute apple of your cheeks and you giggle, waving after her until she’s gone.
Some time passes by until you hear the undeniable beat of feet. That’s how you knew that the customers had arrived.
“Where is Dis?” One of them says, his tone carrying an air of annoyance. Something heavy falls to the ground, the cobbles of the platform absorbing the sound with a greasy, muffled thump.
“I do not know,” the other responds, his voice far deeper than the other. They’ve walked past you at this point, wandering over to the pink steaming cauldron Dis occupies with keen knowledge. You’ve always been fascinated about it and it also smells much better than Vulgrim’s concoctions.
The large ledger that you look over has been standing up, hiding you from view. You let it fall against the counter with a thud.
Eyes moving to the two Horsemen, you greet them with a smile. “Hello.”
Both War and Strife flinch, the gunslinging nephilim’s boots rapping on the stone flooring fast. “Whoa, hey hey— what in the hell?”
“A… human child?” War asks, a white brow raised high to hide further beneath his hood.
“I’m Y/N. Nice to meet you!” War and Strife continue to stare, both canvases of something of blank stun.
“Your potion here.” You take a moment to wander behind the counter and come back, carrying a rather large elixir that threatens to topple you back as you carry it towards them.
Strife steps forward to grasp at the bottle’s neck, stabilising you. With an appreciative nod, you let him take the bottle and you perk up, raising a finger as if to tell him to wait. You rush off towards the ledger, using the levelled forms of books that created a small stairway for you and you look over the page.
“What the actual fuck is going on?” Strife whispers to War who shrugs in response. Indeed it is a bewildering sight to behold. A human child of all possible beings to be what they could only imagine being enslaved.
You hum to yourself, thinking and then you beckon the riders over to which they comply. “What dwoes this say?” You ask and point to the number on the page listed next to the elixir bottle.
Ah but of course…
How easy it would have been to lie to you. To get a cheap discount off of this one. If there was ever a chance like that, Strife was always putting his chips in much to his brother’s precious honour getting bruised.
But he couldn’t lie. He couldn’t take advantage of this situation.
Clearing his throat, he correctly informs you of the amount. “That will be two hundred souls, pwease.”
They pass you an amulet containing the payment and you grab it, thanking them for their business.
“Child, may I ask why you’re here?” It’s War who asks. He just wants to ensure you’ve not been imprisoned…
“I’m here with my Uncle Vulgim and Auntie Dis! I am their lil’ helpwer.”
Strife leans down slightly, the colourful adornment of his scarf catching your notice and then you meet the flickering, golden light of his eyes behind his mask.
“Are you alright? Do you need rescuing? Blink twice if you are under any sort of soul contract, duty binding blood-rituals or sacrificial obligation?”
You giggle with a small wrinkle to your nose. Your voice is mousy still tinged with your amused laughter. “You funny.”
“Did you say Uncle and Aunt?”
You nod to War’s question. “Mhm! I did.”
Strife can’t help but lean in close for War’s hearing. “This is obviously some sort of abduction. I say we kill Vulgrim.”

Tumult: a DID Graphic Novel review
Title: Tumult
Author: John Harris Dunning(writing) and Michael Kennedy(art)
Date of publication: 2018
Fiction or Nonfiction: Fiction
Was there a diagnosis of DID? The character with DID is diagnosed with DID, but the actual process isn't shown
Was the person with DID presented as evil for having DID? Until the very end, yes it's implied that the person with DID is capable of murder
Major trigger warning list:
Cheating
Alcoholism
smoking
Implied drug use
Nonexplicit sexual intercourse (Nothing nonconsenting)
Government-funded organized abuse (MK Ultra and the like? A UK versionnn of it? Sorry I don't know much about this)
Being locked in a dark room as a form of abuse/mind control
Gun violence(nonexplicit)
Stabbing
blood
A dog(alter) attacking (but with angry dog imagery thats pretty creepy)
Evil alter trope
Subjective Review(this is how I felt about it)
Personal triggering scale from 1 to 10 (1 being not triggering at all, 10 being a badly overwhelming experience that might cause personal harm): 3ish?
Personal relatability scale from 1 to 10 (1 being unrelatable, 10 being OMG THAT’S ME!): 2
Personal avoidance scale from 1 to 10(1 being eager to get on with it, 10 being impossible to finish): 6
My interpretation of the media(Includes spoilers):
Hmmmm What do I saw about this
To begin with, the book starts with the main character (Adam, not the one with DID) going into a dissociative episode it seems when he jumps off a cliff into the ocean and injured his leg. It's not entirely clear whether this is something he's gone into before, but he entirely upends his perfectly-normal life with his partner by cheating on her with a woman who stuck around him while he was healing.
Later, he's moved out, he's become an alcoholic and feels so much nothing that he essentially gives up on his job. He's ruined his own life, basically. His best friend points this out that he needs to make a change. (There's plenty of exposition that honestly just bulked up the story and didn't add much, it feels like filling in for context in a memoir, except the context leads to nooothing)
In attempt to socialize, he goes to a friend's party and sleeps with a woman there who's name is Morgan.
Adam considered it an unforgettable night, so when he sees a woman on the street who looks exactly like her, he ends up following her and insisting that she is Morgan, despite multiple denials to his claim. Finally she takes the bait because he's a slightly better option than being harassed in the street by another man trying to convince her she's in danger.
This womans name is Leila. Adam convinces her that he's certain that she's the woman he slept with, and leaves her with his card for contact.
Adam later gets a call from seemingly a little girl, with enough of an inflection in her voice that she sounds very familiar. They meet up in the park, and she introduces herself as Pretty Princess, who's concerned about what's happening around Leila. She tells him that she needs him to look out for her. Adam is perfectly fine with this offer, with a nice little..
"This craziness didn't put me off. If anything, it drew me closer."
Exposition, exposition, Adam quits his job because he's decided to become a thriller movie hero like in Die Hard, putting his energy into Figuring Leila Out.
Adam and Leila meet up again and hit it off better this time. They fuck. We get this lovely description...
"then we were in Leila's bed, and she was shape-shifting. She was girlish, manly, bestial. It was like fucking a barnyard"
Adam hangs around and snoops around her apartment because he woke up without her. He Just has no sense of boundaries almost, bent towards unravelling her mysteries.
Leila meets up with him and starts to explain her DID, only for Adam to intersect and say that he's already met Pretty Princess. He says he doesn't understand but he wants to. Leila, distressed, tells him she's been experiencing blackouts, and it brings out Pretty Princess once again. She tells him that they can no longer be near him now that he knows.
Adam and his friend talk, and they get talking about girls and equating how they see relationships to more thriller moviesssss and thennnnn
A guy shows up, his name is Dave. He was the first one to harass Leila in the street, telling her she's in danger. It turns out she really IS in danger, she was victim to a government-funded mind control program, in which they trained her to be the perfect killer. There just happens to be murders happening left and right, and at the center of it all is Leila's system and a sense of unease. Is she the killer? Is she next on the list? We the readers are left unsure.
As Leila goes to seek help from an old friend who was part of the organization, she finds out that he had suddenly died.
She has no one to turn to, so she turns back to Adam for support.
In a flashback we find out that her mother would lock her in a dark closet for hours at a time as a form of punishment.
In the present, as Adam and Leila are walking, they get mugged. It brings out her biting dog alter in self defense.
In the next scene, we see that the head of the organization apparently had some weirddddd views on religion? that might've influenced how heee wenttt abouttt things, but again, it's never really brought up, only implied. Pretty Princess shows up and tells him she is probably intending to kill him, and he doesn't deny any of her claims about the organization, that they were indeed trying to make the perfect killer.
Except something mysterious.. Happened?
Anyway, they got the confirmation that the conspiracy theories were confirmed and all the 'random' killings are linked.
Insert a scene where we find out that Leila is some sort of escort, and it triggers out another one of her alters, a sultan who threatens to castrate the clientele. At least her coworker seems understanding. (I've heard from my dancer sibling that most fellow sex workers understand dissociation to some degree tbf)
Leila meets up with the program director, who seems genuinely remorseful for what he's done to her. He reveals that he doesn't believe Morgan is capable of the killing that everyone's thinking she is, that he only got into the program because he wanted to study DID
Some stuff, Leila gets kidnapped and it brings out the Grave Digger alter. the person asks a lot about their DID, more than any stranger would know, and they answer honestly. We never really know who kidnapped the system, but we know someone else who was involved in the program is killed directly after.
Leila wakes up, gets a call, and switches with Morgan, who we haven't seen since the night she slept with Adam.
We learn that Morgan was specifically trained to kill, in turn for learning how to control her DID(?). It's revealed that Morgan's never killed anyone while in their training, and implied that she never has since. They have sex and the system disappears from Adam's life.
But hes in too deep and can't take a hint, so Adam stalks theeee doctor from before I think, the one who begged for forgiveness? waiting for his inevitable demise.
It turns out he's been doing the killings so he can sell her as a weapon, and using Morgan as a scapegoat for his crimes by triggering her out every time there's a murder taking place so Leila's system has no choice but to suspect themselves.
Ssssomething happened, since the system was getting locked in the dark as a means of triggering and controlling them, everyone ended up seeeinggg aaaa masss vision? Of some goddess that came to comfort her or something? It's really weird and unclear what exactly happened here, but the governement stopped funding the project because they couldn't believe what was being reported.
Then Morgan kills the doctor, and Adam just happens to be there to sweep her into his arms. In the end, we see that Morgan is an accepted part of the system.
~
I wasn't planning on marrating the entirity of the book, I'm trying to cut down on explaining everything but it's very hard to, sorry. I have a lot of thoughts on this, not a lot positive.
I mean yes, the DID was portrayed fairly well. I don't think the system members were entirely nonsense, they were a mixture of specific and odd enough to be made by a little girl going through trauma. That is to say, Leila and her system aren't really the problem here. I'd actually prefer if the book was more about them
It's just.. Adam. He's.. I don't want to root for him at all, and his interest in the system may have grown into genuine concern, but I have genuine concern for how he's gone about this the entire time. He is blatantly putting his partner on a weird abelist pedestal and doesn't see her as a person in her own right, not really. Just an interesting mystery to unravel, a possible threat, and something to fetishize. I don't often look to other reviews for insight on my own, but I did say that someone else said it was fine, just really weirdly sexist. Because, yeah, it really is.
The story is kind of a slog to get through when it's less than 200 pages also. There's a lot of detail that doesn't fucking matter at all, like a lot of movie references, or caterwauling for 4 pages on how he knows this one guy... We don't actually meet Morgan until halfway through the book, if you can believe it. It's just dense with a lot of stuff I (sorry about this) Don't fucking care about!
I don't know, I came away from this book feeling weirdly objectified for having a disorder.
I also don't understand theeee suddenly Magic thing that apparently happened in the end. It was way out of left field when the rest of the book seemed to be grounded in some sort of reality.
I can't speak on the experience of government-based mind control either, I don't know anything about programming either so I can't really speak on that. It did seem pretty scary that she ended up in this institution by seeking help for her DID, though. I don't feel great about that, I don't know if that happens but it feels like a deterrent to get help.
I don't know. I think I don't like the book. The art style isn't my cup of tea either, so I'm not super fond of it anyway.
If you've read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. I don't remember how I end these reviews, but those are my scattered thoughts.
What they got Right in my opinion:
That DID comes from extended, inescapable childhood trauma
All the origins of the alters shown made sense for alters. (the dog coming from feeling cornered, the sultan being an introject from some artwork, etc)
Seeing communication between alters was very nice
Leila feeling as though she was doing fine until looking at her life a little closer was very relatable. As she put it, 'A bug under a rock that's been upturned'
What they got Wrong in my opinion:
Not about DID, but I don't feel like stalking and not taking no as an answer should be rewarded with sex and affection just because the other party is 'concerned' :')
What. was the magic that happened. I do not think that happens when being put through reliving your childhood trauma.
The constant theming about alters being violent and implying one is a killer. even if it was disrobed pretty well in the end, it's not a great feeling throughout and very trope-y
People with DID are just as equal partners to people without and shouldn't be seen as something to fetishize or treat like a puzzle for you to solve, unless explicitly given the okay to.
Would I reccomend this to someone with DID to read? No. I don't feel like this was for someone with DID to read. The intention does not feel like it's made for someone with DID as much as it is a well-researched gimmick for neurotypical people to fetishize.

More shots of one of my runs - Willow the ranger
Read below the line only if you don't mind some Act 3 spoilers!
Ah yes, the Iron Throne...I love the design of this ship.
This swarmy bastard...on the hit list! I will be bringing Karlach for that one.
Just a shot I thought was neat
My lady doing her thing
Why is he so sexy!
I FINALLY SAVED OMELUUM! I had NO idea you could rescue him before. LOVED doing this. Also, this was the fastest Iron Throne run I've ever had. Not sure why, probably cause I've done it a...uh...few times.
Ya know, I'd love to punch the Duke for Wyll, but I think Wyll would be mad at me.
Bye bye Iron Throne
Willow and her crew. I bought the armor off the guy across from Sorcerous Sundries. Then I dyed it with the the fae wild and dun dye (I think that's what it's called) - had no idea it would turn the armor such a shiny gold.
MINSC!!!
Honestly, these two are just too fun to listen to.
BOO! Boo meet you! I actually have a hamster named Molly. Yes, I talk to her...
This line always makes me laugh
Look how pretty he is...
Yup - I bought a statue of myself.
I'm actually romancing Wyll on another run. Fuck he is the sweetest man...those lips...
I've never had the run where Wyll goes with Karlach. I've had her die, I've gone with her, but never had her go with Wyll. Here's hoping!
Every parent understands this conversation more than we should LOL!
This is a whole mood.
Ya have to have Halsin in the shots at least once in a while. That smolder...
This whole kiss sequence just kills me every time

ahem *cracks knuckles* special interest rant INCOMING!!!!! This is long and confusing so bear with me guys (SPOILERS FOR ARKHAM KNIGHT AHEAD!!!!)
also this is only the basic lore so when I ramble about theories n stuff, they make a little bit of sense!
Arkham Knight is the third and “final” installment of the Arkham trilogy! Story wise, you don’t really need to play the past games to get what’s going on, but here’s a quick summary of important points anyways
Arkham Asylum - Joker takes over Arkham Asylum!! He plans to use special green juice (Titan, a variant of Venom, which Bane uses to get big and scary!) to create a big army but fails. He ends up injecting himself with Titan, though! During the story, Scarecrow attempts to poison the water supply with fear toxin, but gets mauled by killer croc. Not really in the game outside of silly little hints, but important to the lore— Warden Quincy Sharpe and Hugo Strange are making plans for a mysterious the Arkham City! Jason Todd (:D) has been missing for a while at this point and Batman has adopted Tim Drake as Robin.
Arkham City - Arkham City has been created! Inmates of Blackgate and patients of Arkham are all put into Arkham City as a means of… treatment? I suppose? The Arkham City project was advertised as a positive for the inmates and for Gotham as a whole, but obviously it was all an evil plan. Hugo Strange created Arkham City so he could put all of the criminals in one place to blow them up (he did this by inciting a riot and then starting Protocol 10, the plan to eliminate all inmates in case of emergency), but Batman stopped him! Meanwhile, Joker is dying from the Titan he injected himself with! He forces Batman to help him get a cure but giving Batman some of his blood, infecting him with the deadly disease. Batman finds the cure, but it was too late for Joker and he died. Even though Batman cured himself, something is still super wrong with him, something he wouldn’t realize until the events of Arkham Knight! Batman saves the day, but is changed by the Joker’s passing. Extra important lore thats not necessarily important to the plot but I think is important to the themes of the games - Talia al Ghul, Batman’s love interest at the time, dies at the hands of the Joker :(
Now onto Arkham Knight!!!
Remember Scarecrow? He’s back as the big bad and blamed Batman for what happened to him in the asylum! His whole deal was that he wanted Batman to suffer, so he held the city hostage with the help of the mysterious Arkham Knight! By threatening to release fear toxin, they force the entire city to evacuate, and the Arkham Knight brings an entire army to fight Batman! The first plan was to turn the Ace Chemical Factory into essentially a big bomb that would disperse fear toxin, but that didn’t work. When Batman got hit with the fear toxin, though, he started hallucinating the Joker! Dun dun dunnnn! Turns out, Joker has been kept alive in Batman’s mind because of the blood transfusion that took place in Arkham City (a little bit confusing, but Joker is actually very real in Batman’s head and is constantly trying to take over). Batman does his very best to ignore the Joker’s presence as he moves on to thwarting Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight’s next scheme, the Cloudburst. The Cloudburst is a code name for a tank that would disperse an even worse strain of fear toxin! Nothing could protect a person from the effects! BUTTTT, the Arkham Knight had kidnapped one of Batman’s allies, Barbara Gordon aka Oracle aka the former Batgirl! Unfortunately, Batman wasn’t able to save her :(. At this point, from Batman’s perspective, he has failed a LOT of important people in his life— Jason Todd, Talia al Ghul, and now Barbara Gordon and subsequently Jim Gordon, her father. As the game continues, Batman stops all kinds of crimes, but drives himself crazy with trying to discover the Arkham Knight’s identity. Why? Likely because he already had a good idea of who he could be based off of his impossible knowledge on everything to do with him, but he didn’t want to admit it. Batman isn’t able to stop the Cloudburst to stop exploding like he was able to stop the Ace Chemical factory from blowing up, though! Fear toxin covered Gotham City and Batman got another dose, which definitely wasn’t helping his deteriorating mental state. The only good thing he got out of trying to stop the Cloudburst was that he managed to scare off the Arkham Knight, who quickly stopped communicating with Scarecrow! With Poison Ivy’s help, Batman was able to neutralize the effects of the fear toxin, but he still had a bunch of criminals to take in!! First he went after the Arkham Knight, who had retreated back to the his headquarters. Before the final fight with him, it’s revealed that the Arkham Knight was… dun dun dun, JASON TODD ( :D )! When he was “missing,” he was actually being bullied by Joker in Arkham. Joker manipulated him into thinking that Batman ruined his life, so he wanted to get rid of him and become a better Batman!!! His plan was to get rid of him and then become Red Hood, but it didn’t work out that way and Jason fled before Batman could help him (Batman still cared about him, even though he did bad things!) Next Batman went after Scarecrow, but, another plot twist, Barbara Gordon was aliveeee!!! Batman and Barbara escape, but Jim Gordon doesn’t (he was taken by Scarecrow).
Brief break before the big finale— Deathstroke, usually known as Slade Wilson, has taken over the Arkham Knight’s army! He’s a big ole meanie, but Batman locks him up!
OKAYY back to the main story! Batman realizes that Robin (Tim Drake) had been kidnapped by Scarecrow! Scarecrow told him to give up his gear and turn himself over, basically. Batman doesn’t want to lose another Robin, so he complies. Scarecrow unmasks Batman in front of life TV and says a whole buncha mean things to try to break him, but it doesn’t work! In the finale moments of the game, Batman beats the Joker in his head, taking full control back of his body. Jason ( :D ) comes back as Red Hood and frees Batman, Batman beats up Scarecrow and locks him up, but he can’t continue being Batman anymore with his secret revealed.
He initiates the Knightfall protocol, which means he blew up Wayne Manor, faking his and Alfred’s deaths so they can live their lives in peace and so no one can possibly find out the identities of his allies. Super sad ending to a perfect game!!!! I love the Arkham games so much because I used to watch my dad play them alll of the time! They mean a lot to me!!! I don’t really identify with this particular version of Jason most of the time, but Arkham Knight is still one of my favorite characters ever!!!!
#don’t worry about reading all of this HWHWH#I doubt it makes much sense#BUT YIPPEE ARKHAM KNIGHT#special interest#infodump#tw — a bit scary#this is technically a game for grown ups so the lore is a little dark#nothing too bad tho!!!

So my thoughts about SxSG?
Spoilers under cut
Mostly positive. Clearly, this was fan service with all the little call back to things, like talking about the fake Emerald from SA2 and how Big even notes that the same emerald color was his lucky charm in SA1. The core gameplay is fun...I just don't know how I feel about all of Shadow's upgrades. The first few are fine, but things like Doom Surf and Morph make the game feel awkward. I'm sure 80% of my deaths in the game are a result of Doom Morph shenanigans.
I oddly liked exploring Shadow's white space, which brought back memories to all the Gaia Gates in Sonic Unleashed. It's satisfying to find things. The stages are all gorgeous and dun to play. I think I'm most impressed by Kingdom Valley, how faithful it was to the original while adapting the new mechanics to it. Feels like a real definitive addition. And Rail Canyon, just, *chef's kiss* so nice to have Sonic Heroes satge rep that ISN'T Seaside Hill for once.
This is definitely the most fun I had with a main line Sonic game in a long time. However...I do have my gripes with it.
One is some of the remixes, or lack thereof. With the first generations and even Sonic Colors Ultimate, the original music got fantastic remixes. And here I feel is why I set my expectations high, too high it seems. Don't get me wrong, most are good. But Kingdom Valley doesn't sound much different from the orignial in Act 1. And Supporting Me...while it's mixed nicely, I'm disappointed by the lack of vocals, as I feel they are an important part of the song and why I find it so epic. But the most agregous offense was What I'm Made Of. They changed literally nothing. They tried to pass it off as a new mix as there are some minor differences from the original version, such as a more pronounced baseline, but they ripped it straight from a 2007 soundtrack. But you can't hear much of these differences during the boss battle because the song is nearly drowned out by the action.
Another gripe I have is Sonic Frontiers having a stage representation in Shadow's story despite him not being in that game. I looked into and I'm in agreement with the opinion of it was easier to just reuse assets from the most recent Sonic game than to try to craft a new stage from scrapped that would have been based on an ShTH stage. Yes, the game all about Shadow and Black Doom, it does not in fact have a ShTH stage, and I can't wrap my mind around that decision. I call that laziness. To their credit, they did put each stage song from that game as unlockable BGM, so I think they were aware of this fuck up. But really it wouldn't raise too much of an eyebrow at Chaos Island's inclusion of maybe they had Black Comet as the final stage unstead of... *sigh* Radical Highway yet again. Like I love Radical Highway but it's obvious SEGA is treating it like Shadow's version of Green Hill. I feel it would have been better if it was added as a bonus stage rather than the final.
It's also VERY STRANGE to me that they had a stage from Sonic Forces, but they didn't include a boss fight with Infinite like what?
Okay, I know it looks like my complaints outweigh my compliments but I swear it's unintentional. I just can write down my thoughts with my complaints versus what I love. Cause my love just goes DJFHFHEIIZKDKSKS in my brain lol.
#shut up pochama#this has just been sitting in my drafts for over a week#i should probably post this

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Muu Kusonoki, "Drowning in honey (love)", Confession HCs + mini scenario!
Synopsis: Confession HCs with Muu Kusonoki Word Count: Genre: Fluff Reader: GN (no pronouns mentioned), both Muu and Reader aren't in MILGRAM Spoilers/Warnings?: Muu being a bit OOC
A/n: THIS WAS SO RUSHED 🫠 and ended on a cliffhanger..? HAHA ENJOY..
It all happened when you both were sitting together on the train stop, minding your own business at the time until she spoke up ⎯ asking what you were doing on your phone, curiously trying to take a peak over your shoulder.
'Such an odd girl' you thought, who you paid no mind to... But with how insist she was as she bats her eyelashes for your attention, you eventually gave in to her needs.
And that was basically your first meeting with her. You both didn't go to the same school but had the same stops to go on and off of.
A weird coincidence if you were being honest but she was a nice girl to talk to and rant your day about.
Muu was her name and she certainly had her looks too, which made you wonder if there's a chance she had a boyfriend or not? It wouldn't be a surprise if she did but there was a lingering sting in your chest when you kept thinking about it.
The pain growing more when you suddenly felt more attached to the girl who leaves in the opposite direction from you after you get off your stops.
The pain of not being near her...
"Y/n...?" Her voice blew gently into your left ear, snapping you out of your thoughts and worries to look at her with perplexed expression ⎯ seeing her frown deeper at your reaction to her.
"You haven't been listening, have you? So mean~"
"Oh sorry I was just..." You go silent, unsure of what excuses to make after getting caught. But it seems like Muu didn't mind ⎯ changing or continuing the topic she was talking to you about. You were lucky she was more lenient towards you, or at the very least didn't care.
There it was though, the final stop where you both had to get get off and go your separate ways.
While walking you couldn't help but slow your movements than usually. Thinking over what you thought about during the train, the pain in your chest starts swelling again ⎯ 'Why? Why does it hurt?'
Just as you glance behind you, thinking you'd see Muu already so far away from where you both parted ways, you suddenly see her in front of you...? Blinking back at you confused like she caught you when it was totally the opposite??
"Muu?"
"Hmm? Ah Y/n what a surprise that we're walking in the same direction!"
"Hold on don't go changing stuff up⎯ just what are you doing here?!"
Turns out this was her way of catching you off guard, but also something she was talking to you about during the train ride...
If only you had paid enough attention to her to what she was saying.
As you guys were walking together, her still frustrated and pouty about you not listening to her back then, the thought from earlier crossed your mind again.
"Hey, Muu?" "Mhm?~" "What do you think of me?" "I like you." "I'm serious Muu⎯" "But I am too?"
(DUN DUN DUN)

The Livestream (Scarabia)
(TWST sPoilers for SCHEMER OF THE SCALDING SANDS. or something like that. SCARABIA.)
okay so i just realized
so the part where jamil ends up outting himself as the one basically mind controlling kalim and making him seem awful and stuff.
that was livestreamed. and while there were only like 5k viewers. whose to say that that footage couldnt get in the hands of like. say. the asim family? and wuh woh
i mean. on the other hand. it could've been like a private-ish sort of stream where it would be controlled who could and couldnt see it (but think of it as maybe like. a livestream with a password attached? and they gave the password to the other scarabia peeps [cause they saw the stream too i think])
but whose to say it couldnt have been leaked
or like hacked or something to get the footage anyway???
i mean. would there be 5k people in the scarabia dorm? i dont actually know how many people there are. but even if thats the case, whose to say someone wouldn't blab?? whose to say there might not, idfk, be like an asim plant to keep an eye on kalim and jamil
or like. if news of the overblot are very hush hush, just that something happened,
then whose to say they couldnt be bribed for the truth? which was 'jamil was outed as a traitor, and then everything goes blank from there' which, dun dun dun, snake charmer.
if they do hear of the overblot though
whose to say they couldn't argue that jamil is too dangerous to be around kalim? (oh my god i spelled it as kamil. ....)
like even if they dont know about his betrayal
he still overblotted
during winter break where very few people still remained at the school (i think all the teachers left. which would i think include like medical people.)
whose to say it couldnt happen again, and with no one to stop him? yeah sure he'd die, but jamil is never very far away from kalim at all times..
yknow?
okay well i havent started the next book yet so i dont know about consequences in canon if there are any. but to me, it doesnt look like there really are any?
for one, overblot leads to risk of death, but i never get that sense of danger exactly? nor do we really see anything where people find out about the overblots because nothing can stay a secret (although logically thats probably happening..)
or like. getting into the part where im not sure if its canon or fanfiction, but like, overblots being rare-ish to happen (which seems odd), and not really any cases where the people overblotting survived.

𖥻 BETTER ˒ 𝐞𝐭𝐚. winter of 2022
EDITION .. make it khalid’s song but they know what they are (spoiler: they definitely aren’t just friends)
FEATURING .. lua’s secret love interest
CW(S) .. fireworks in both literal and figurative sense
MONA SAYS .. dun.. dun.. dun.. here comes the mayhem 🤭
a plethora of colors scatter across the night sky. lua thinks she can see a flower, but the new batch of fireworks erases the drawing before she can confirm it. either way, it's a pretty sight to behold.
she rests her head upon his shoulder, a soft sigh falling from her lips as she does so. he tears his attention away from the public show and looks at her. his hand brushes upon her arm, lithe fingers dancing across the goosebumps that cover her bare skin.
“penny for a thought?” he checks in, interested to find out what's going through her vast mind.
she reaches for his hand and slots her fingers between the gaps, absolutely in awe to see they fit snug. “i think i really really like you.”
“you think?” he laughs quietly. “well i'm certain that i really really really like you too.”
“that's not fair, you two-upped me..”
“it's a fair trade, seeing as how you've already taken my heart.”
lua turns her head again. this time, her face is pressed against his shoulder. it's uncomfortable, yes, but she has to stay like that so he can't see the heat that rushes to the apples of her cheeks.
she hears him chuckle, then feels his kiss against the crown of her head. she doesn't see his hand coming close until he gently tilts her head upwards, allowing him to witness the beauty that is her. but that isn't the end of it, not yet.
no, the main attraction is the fireworks that burst in her stomach when he finally leans in and presses his lips against hers. he lingers for a few seconds, allowing her to stamp the feeling in her memories, then pulls back.
neither of them move or speak. how can they when their erratic heartbeats are ringing at full volume, barring them from thinking properly.
ecstasy blurs their minds for a few more seconds before it finally clears up. they exchange shy smiles, adoration mutually painted across their visages.
“come on, i think i saw a vendor selling sparklers earlier.” he says before getting back on his feet. unfortunately, he has to let go of her hand in order to put his mask back on, but he quickly returns the warmth to her skin.
she follows his lead, and they soon head off to find the mentioned stall. as usual, the walk is full of jokes, laughter, and blushes. not that either of them can see the third item because they're obscured by the disposable covers, but they don't complain.
after all, sharing this reality is better than holding onto possibilities.
