THE WINX CHRONICLES

I love listening to longer content, but these days, I am super picky. I multi-task, but I am fairly good at actually listening to the content. It can't just be music or a random podcast. It has to interest me.

Yet, I haven't really met content I needed to stop and put down what I am doing before getting into the Winx Club fandom. I first watched the show as a pre-teen back when Nickolodeon aired the fourth season. {I can go on about that day and the fandom overall, but it's better saved for another rant?}

This is.. well. Magical. I listened to the Winx Forever Podcast over and over again, completely obsessed even if Lola absolutely demolished the Rai dub. {Both have their great moments and flaws. But that's coming from someone that saw the Nick dub first.}

Then. The Winx Chronicles. She recommends great things in her podcast. But none are on Spotify, which I use during work hours. Now, with a break, I can truly explore outside and by my stars... it's beautiful. The audio version on YouTube is simply divine! So much care and love for the show is poured into this project. Voices I recognize planting images in my head about the world I had stuck in my mind since my youth.

It has a lot of content, I found myself fully listening into the first act that was released a little over a week ago as of now. The changes and shifts in the story. The way you can still pick up parts of the original show, including the Kids dub, and yet its brand new. It's more mature but still leans heavily into the magic of it all. More lore and answers are being answered. With a few mysteries promised to be solved.

I am growing to love the fandom more and more. I simply find myself in love with the Winx Chronicles, even just the audio version. Maybe I should sit down and read when things die down for me?

I am still searching for more content. I want to be able to support more projects such as these. Sadly, I have left a lot of social media platforms and would prefer not to go back to them due to personal reasons. For now, I will repeat the ones I have gathered even as I memorize them word for word.

There's not much I can say to really express my growing love for this fandom... it's just.. winx

MADE EDITS i couldn't stop thinking about their outfits and like,, the aspects i liked and thought felt very winx and in line with the individual characters and the aspects i Hated and thought sucked dookie SO i made some edits :)

biggest changes are to musa, aisha, and stella! actually changed the clothes there. flora and tecna i just adjusted the colors (in flora's case to further unwhitewash her and saturate her clothing more and in tecna's case to bring back her pink hair and green and cyan).

explanations on changes below!

I'll start with the simpler edits!

For Tecna, I just wanted to play around with her og colors lol I actually LOVE her new look and I would love to see this be the final design!! It's SO tecna and fits in with the rest of the winx i love it soo much :') I do think they should bring back her pinker hair though! And again, would love to see the green and cyan make an appearance. I feel like neon green is just very classy techy character. And while it is cliche, I do love it akjgd plus I think it looks good on her and makes the other colors stand out more imo! (but maybe this new, pinker look will make people like her more idk :') justice for tecna my beloved :'))

For Flora, I darkened her skin more for obvious reasons. And then I added more saturation to the colors and added back the warmer tones they took out. Imo, the darker, desaturated, and cooler toned look for Flora only works in very specific circumstances. Color theory rainbow!! Bring back the brightness! The color!! The warmth!!

Which brings me to Stella ohmygod,,, please,,,, please stop desaturating her she looks so pale and sick and lifeless STOP please :') Anyway lol, obviously brought back the brighter orange! I also took away the random sleeve. It's cute but it just didn't feel very Stella at the time? The tube top look is Very Classic Stella (very much giving s3 casual but in orange). Tbh, I don't love the dress itself, but I do think it looks better once you add more of Stella's colors. I also tanned her skin more and made her hair more yellow + brighter! Just like with Flora, color theory is important for media!! This Stella design just does Not give sunny, optimistic character. It's giving the gap (aka BORING aljdhg)

Aisha's design stumped me for a bit, I won't lie. I couldn't figure out exactly what I didn't like. But I got it!! One, way too symmetrical imo. Yes, Aisha does have some very symmetrical looks, but like 80% of her looks are very asymmetrical. I also didn't love that it didn't incorporate more of Aisha's powers. It really just went for *vaguely sporty* and didn't try to bring anything else to the table. And some people might say that Aisha's og looks were like that too, but I disagree! They told a story! She's a brave adventurer, a dancer, a princess, etcetc!! This tells me "oh yeah this girl might like to do yoga. cool."

Anyway! So I made Aisha's pants baggier because let's be fucking real for a sec. Changed the design on the pants slightly to make it asymmetrical and incorporated a wave design. Took away that bottom shiny fabric of her shirt. I tried to keep it but it just wasn't looking great with the pants changes tbh. Added small waves to the bottom and made it one shoulder! Also added her classic little circle wave design 1. because it's cute and 2. so Musa wouldn't feel so out of place with a design. Tbh, I still don't love the pants... I think maybe that hem could be higher?

For Musa! I've spoken about this before but I do not like the bodysuit. I liked the concept and the vibe it brings, but it looks So uncomfortable and s1 Musa was alllll about being comfortable. It's why so many people think she hates wearing dresses (even though she doesn't). So I kept the vibe, but changed it to the same mesh that's on her right arm! Which like!! I didn't even see that until I started the edit!! It's so,,, unnoticeable which like,, isn't a bad thing? But also? I think the mesh being on her stomach too makes the design as a whole a little more balanced (and it's a nice callback to her og magic winx!). As for the color changes, really just wanted to go back to her reds and dark blues. I don't Hate the color scheme, but I also don't love it. And I think this feels a lot more like Musa yknow? Also darkened her hair cause fuck that dude

Anyway lol it's not the best edit so don't look too hard :') I just wanted to explore what I liked about the designs and what I didn't. We did get to see a little bit of Bloom's casual, but I want to wait until we get a closer look to speak on it/make edits. Also tbh, I don't really love Flora's outfit but I didn't want to completely redesign her and I concede that this is something she would wear (although it feels more like s4 cowgirl time/s5 casual and not s1 new student time but Fine). For now, I'm gonna pretend the trailer showed us my edit of Stella and not what it really showed. I can't get pale pinterest stella out of my head,,, aggghhhh

Have you ever looked at the list of autism traits and very confidently said well I don't have that one only to notice years later you are doing the fun leg movements from a show you just watched in your kitchen at six in the morning and you suddenly Get what they meant by copying body movements and stuff and surprise you've been doing it all that time actually and now you are Aware of it so your body feels weird but you also still want to do it so your brain just bluescreens. or is that too specific.

my new acquaintances/friends from school are concerningly different from me, what sticks out the most are this obvious lack of self articulation and/or awareness AND general distaste for discussing things in detail. i am constantly on the uncomfortable spot of "questioning a bit too deep and engaging a bit too strong and discussing a bit too aggressive" where my attempts at getting to know them AND getting across my own opinion all end up in the same pit. i dont know if im being "hurr durr i hate small talk tell me which 2 philosophers merging would result in the person closest to your own self and rank capitalism global warming and global rise of fascism in how urgent a problem they are to you personally" but it seems the small talk and humor they thrive in is too alien to my interests and my in depth engagement is too uncomfortable/stress inducing for them. they are PEOPLE with interests and views! and i wanna know and i wanna understand! but im too particular about my lines of socialization and too aggressive in my attitude and they are surprisingly bothered by slightest tension and deeply confrontation avoidant. i dont think we'll manage to get too close. i think ill reel it in a bit

I am back after five hours!

"But that's not a healthy amount of sleep!" You caught me. Thus why I am even typing anything out rn. But dear reader, it's a tragic excuse, really. The true reason I don't stay up past midnight. My body physically won't let me sleep past 9 a.m. most days. Not due to noise, light, or temperature. It's purely time. Same instinct that doesn't let me sleep in any vehicle without sounding the alarm.

So I, eepy as I am, look over the internet for Shadow the Hedgehog bomber jackets. Why, oh why, do they all need to have those stock photos? I want HIS jacket. I'm going to steal it from his 50 year old hands damn it. Maybe I should go for the Minecraft Dairies Aaron jacket after all? But.. I can have both.. eventually.

I sound as if I collect merch left and right. I truly don't. This is me allowing that child that never dared to ask those years ago. There is no shame in asking my older self. I won't judge, and they will never knoooowww.

Like I said before, Codatorta is basically Helia's found family dad. They're not actually related but Codatorta has been taking care of and training Helia since he was a little kid!

Codatorta is really proud of Helia but he doesn't show it often. He doesn't want the school to be accused of nepotism and he doesn't want Helia to be bullied/ostracized for special treatment, so Coda often ends up being a lot more strict and even a bit cold to Helia in public. Obviously, Helia does understand this, but it did still sting the first time it happened.

Codatorta was the first person that taught Helia self defense! When Helia was a kid, he really liked watching the specialists but he wasn't allowed to actually join in or learn anything himself. And at first, Codatorta was very strict about this because he didn't want little Helia to accidentally hurt himself or someone else yknow? Buuut right around the second time he got kidnapped by Saladin's enemies, Coda figured he'd need to know Something so he doesn't immediately die.

Queue the first time Helia actually manages to escape capture and Coda loses his fucking mind cause the kid isn't in his little cell oh god where did he go IS HE DEAD no he's in the vents

Speaking of giving Coda a heart attack! The first time he caught Helia sneaking out? Dear lord you'd think he fucking killed someone; he was grounded for so long !! (Codatorta was Very Mad but also Somewhat Proud that he managed to do it for so long without getting caught. Don't tell Helia that though..)

Saladin assumed that little Helia would feel more comfortable around Faragonda rather than Griffin but it was actually the opposite! He really liked hanging out in Griffin's office and overall preferred the (usually) chiller vibe at Cloud Tower. Griffin would always act annoyed by him but she did start leaving more beginner friendly history and magic books on her bookcases 🤭

The three principals actually had a bet on which kind of magic Helia would end up using. Saladin was convinced that he would follow in his footsteps and become a wizard, Griffin saw promise in his use of dark magic, and Faragonda knew that he already liked fairy magic. Imagine their surprise when he just neglected magic altogether! Except for his little origami cranes of course! Faragonda was actually the one who taught him that and Griffin helped him utilize it for missions (ie tracking magic and whatnot)

I don't think Helia would ever consciously or accidentally call Codatorta "dad", but I do think it happened once when he was badly injured and almost unconscious. Helia didn't remember it though so Codatorta never brought it up.
