we just had. the weirdest debate ever? on a video about someone being frustrated with lesbian exclusionists and queer exclusionists as a whole we commented that the lesboy hate was getting out of hand, and that it was upsetting to see, especially during pride month.
someone replied and said “i would love to but 9 times out of 10 it’s used to be homophobic to lesbians.”
i replied with “then block and move on? people don't need to make a big fuss over something that doesn't matter. i'm frustrated about it as a butch lesbian who just wants their label to be respected and accepted.”
they replied with “we should address the problem of homophobia with men pretending to be lesbians tho. butches are fine but when you're a full on man saying you're wlw, you really shouldn't be using "reclaimed" slurs”
imo this is already where it went off the rails. i said “i want to be accepted” and they replied with “but what about men” which was Not relevant. to this comment what so ever .
the debate continued with me replying to them with “i know this is controversial, but if a man genuinely feels and believes that he is a lesbian, he is one. sexuality and gender are fluid, and people are going to identify in a way you deem “wrong”.”
this person replied to that with “so a woman can identify as a gay man? or is it only “labels are flexible” when it comes to women’s labels?”
i replied with “no of course she can? the label turigirl exists for a reason? anyone can identify however they’d like to. that’s the point of what i just said”
personally. i don’t think it’s too crazy or ridiculous to say that. people are free to identify how they want, and rigid gender or sexuality “rules” isn’t going to change that.
their response to this is “woah omg you did not just say that. that’s so disrespectful to the victims of the aids crisis and ongoing victims of homophobia”
which. genuinely what. i have no idea how you would ever get to that conclusion.
i asked where that curveball came from, and they said “from your homophobia. it is a complete disregard of individuals who have been socially ostracized for their identities to say anyone can use any label no matter how they actually identify”
which is genuinely kind of crazy to me. because in my opinion and the opinion of a lot of my friends, my view on labels is completely understandable and reasonable?
in response, i said “you seem to be disregarding my own personal experience with homophobia. anyone can use whatever label they want, because that is how free will works. it's not homophobic to say that at all?” which, because of my experiences with homophobia (i have been hospitalized several times due to queer/trans violence) is a reasonable thing to say.
they send back “how would i know your personal experience first of all? and second of all it is homophobic to say that men can be wlw and women can be mlm when lesbians and gay men fought so hard during the aids crisis to not be seen as monsters.”
although i’m not quite sure how that is totally relevant, i think you’re making people who don’t identify the way you think they should as monsters, or “wrong”, which if i’m being honest sounds a bit like homophobia to me.
i then ask about listening their perspective in dms, to see if they’d let me try to understand why they think oppressive boxes have something to do with how you’re supposed to identify, but they said that “i have made my perspective very clear and backed it with research, like requested. if you are not able to understand this complex issue, that is your responsibility and not mine to educate yourself.”
which if i had to ask for a more detailed explanation, i don’t think they made it very clear, but i suppose we all can’t care about queer people.
i’m not sure how mentioning the aids crisis is the same thing as doing research against my point, but again, i don’t think they were very clear at explaining anything.
anyway, i’m posting this here to break the echo chamber of my friends all completely agreeing with me, to see if maybe i was just missing something or whatever

I did do these most auspicious things .....like when asked if I liked an instructor for yoga......I thought ideas to force women into mens stuff is more agricultural labor crime.....pennhurst
But said many yoga instructors I don't enjoy thought dull but said there is a real master at the hare krisna temple in pacific beach
Then asked if money was no object to self care said I would hop a plane to buenos aires .........and tithe the ministry whatever it asked and take a sacred bath.....
Many episodes of claims people have healed from prostituted circumstances and they never once mention anything sacred....how would you heal if prostitution is still expected income
Buenos aires is like the capital of euro latinate mixtures with other cultures
Melanctha....but the white influence on health is very taking care of...
Anyway I said women can go to hare Krishna temple and I can go but it isn't mother God and mother earth and I found out mens interpretation of divinity isn't like closure and moving on
I said this to my new room share because her diet is still bovine spiritual and she gets into trouble if she won't be an ausbergers
She can't find her food stamp card and I suspect staff of taking it so the recycling trash didn't start attracting free loaders muggers rapists and all names for free loaders
If the recycling is very high impact male prime time sport party rapeists.....
I had a bad friend who needed a soda habit and she always canned and took her cans to the recycling herself you can't tell people you have a prior cigarette illegality life style or your sex life is ruined forever by guilty unwanteds
Thats what the indigenous people will give me for release from unwanted males as soon as you can tolerate diet and discipline strange mean single men stop stalking
Her name is Alex so now I know everything sex therapy is not....
She bought a bunch of single use containers from a Mexican shop that has more french about it....so if she wouldn't grab a 24 pack from wal mart for game day or on occasion I think the staff took it for her manic inability to stop buying single use containers
Southerners mentals like need southerners...the lady really makes you work sometimes but sometimes you can have feast and sociallizing
I was right it was the German that stole her food stamp card....the german understand China puppet and manipulative English...so...
I get accused because of poverty and the German staff took it away for her own good...without giving her a liquid diet ..
I have been popped before so I have a bed I don't need anymore pops
The German wanted us to understand psychologically flexible so I said that doesn't make sense that's a material adjective and psychology is speculation on the immaterial and you could get accused of chicago wardens if you use eastern philosophy till it's the immigrant called itself the boss and I have to call right wing legal aid
I told her English was a colonial force here so you have to be careful where and when you use it calling people a nigger because criminal rights activists give tough love speeches to black male incarcerated issues is not really appropriate for a mental house
I had said to the Germans commands to move seats from the table that it would be too close of contact for the group we are not peopled or relations here and it's not normal to treat it like family but I had to be commanded to bend stoop and lift....
Then I told her refusing my advise is considered very disrespectful in my world view to not do what a woman has said is boundary crossing....
Then she asked if i just pushed my paranoia out of my head when i could lie back and take it or rape charges
So i confronted her more bluntly you can't push a thought that's not a job jargon relevant
Hahaha...you a dumb German bimbo hahaha
She wanted us to really get into the emotions of intrusive thoughts so the disbelief people are in crisis sounds like not enough land resources for European factory....
We started eating their shipments and using things from europe so the Germans punish till you die of veganism or malnutrition related over work
It's German colonialism. In Africa they are Wilma mankiller to the line labor so those types of battles still don't stop between Germans and Americans
Germans protect alcohol
All the other counselors are fine they aren't black though their English or Jewish mostly all will be accused of not helping enough and it's the German that had a medication for my skin quickly reintroduced to water and wouldnt give it ...
The mind it away wouldnt stop
I explained to her that isn't maybe current criminal rights and those are women I think Alex appears bisexual and I think she is a woman and you can't call everyone under the males ability or if I have to be called a dudes name I also get a panic attack...
I explained to my counselor later its important because the war on drugs thought it was okay to rape minors in jails for not being allowed the Indian appropriation act of 1851....and when land is just european product hygiene some European internationals give us these medications and improve our lives with their gifts for science and others like that german prove to act the immigrant so
Fruitive aspects missing from high school nutrition then complaints that kids try stuff innocently with their friends
How does a pennhurst happen well the confederates are right its European science but our land and soil so
The English though tell me about agricultural labor the french also about drug rights and Spanish about American revolution but the German......no
Anyway the program is helping me transition from anthropocentrism to biocentric equality so I want to meet everybody i want to know what this is the german is?
That is the Alex....this is the German...okay

What happens to Marvin after the musical??? This question has plaques my mind for ages and I was wondering your take on it
Tumblr media
Okay, well, here’s my personal interpretation. Obviously, since Marvin’s future is not explicitly disclosed in the musical, it all depends on you personally and what you choose to believe. But for me:
I believe Marvin contracted AIDS from Whizzer and died soon after the events portrayed in the musical.
And here’s why I think this:
1. Charlotte sings “Something Bad is Happening (Reprise)” directly to Marvin (as we see in the proshot, she does this off to the side, in private -  as if what she is telling him is a private matter concerning only him), and it is pointed in the fact that the only real lyrical addition to the reprise is how the disease “spreads from one man to another.“ This is clearly heavily hinting at the fact that, at the very least, she is warning Marvin that he is at high-risk of already being (again, at the very least) HIV positive.
Bonus: In “Unlikely Lovers,” Cordelia says that “We don’t know what time will bring,” to which Whizzer replies “I’ve a clue” and Marvin reaffirms, “I have too/two.” Though the official lyrics state that it is “too” (meaning that Marvin is agreeing that Whizzer’s death is in near future), William Finn also does a lot of double-meanings in his text, so depending on what you interpret, it can also be “two” (as in, Marvin has two clues for the future: Whizzer will die, and Marvin himself will die). It really depends on how you want to interpret that part, so it’s not official “proof” or anything but the first time I heard it, I thought it was “two” and my heart broke. Obviously this is mere speculation on my part and isn’t “proof” and actually contradicts the real lyrics so that’s why I’m crossing it out, but I still feel this information is important to at least be aware of because it had helped form my early opinion of what happened to Marvin post-musical.
2. In “What Would I Do?” Marvin says, "Once i was told that good men get better with age. WE’RE just gonna skip that stage.” This, again, is heavily implying that Whizzer and Marvin are going to not make it to old age.
3. This is not really “proof” but i feel like - if Marvin did contract the disease - it would add even more importance and emphasis to the lines “I’d do it again. I’d like to believe that I’d do it again and again” because it demonstrates that Marvin is essentially losing his life for loving and being with Whizzer but he still doesn’t regret it. And it just makes that line so much more profound and heart-breaking??
4. (and this is less proof and more me being all editorial and expressing my own views) But I feel like it just - makes more sense, story-wise?? Given that William Finn was emphasizing how the AIDS crisis didn’t “pick and choose” its victims and how utterly unfair and devastating it was to loved ones (it left many friends jaded and many families torn apart). Idk,,, it just makes more sense to me because of the themes established in Falsettos.
So like,,, as you can see, there’s not a lot of “proof” but this is why I believe that Marvin contracted AIDS and subsequently lost his life. It’s very tragic and devastating, and I should emphasize that this isn’t a “proven,” 100% factual account of Marvin’s future because we honestly have no idea since the musical ended right after Whizzer’s death. It’s really all up to your personal interpretation and what you believe better fits the story in your mind. If you believe that he lived a long, happy life, then your interpretation is no less “right” than mine.

Anyone else kind of tired of UN and NATO and big western nation leaders acting all shocked at Russia's complete disregard for international and conflict law when they've visited Ukraine? Or try to talk to Putin one on one?
We've been, writing, talking, screaming about it for years and extra hard in the last two months! Why are you so shocked?
It honestly makes me so mad seeing that. It's so patronizing and dismissive and disrespectful to all those countries that fell to Russian brutality and lost so much and have been telling the world over and over that you can't do normal business and politics with Russia.
But the west keeps treating us like children and like they know better. Like we're just silly poor little nations who simply don't know how to do politics and diplomacy.
The latest being the UN visit. The one that went to Putin first then Kyiv and was all "oh my! Can't believe Putin bombed Kyiv while I was there!"
What made you believe he wouldn't?
Russia hasn't even been that invested in hiding it's contempt for all the institutions and laws, they were there in the UN asking for an agreement on humanitarian aid for a crisis they were in the process of creating. How do you take these people as serious, good faith actors?
And still the west keeps talking and acting like it's fine. And keep trying to call Putin and keep trying to make talks happen because oil and gas and a belief in their own superiority as mediators and world leaders.
As if Zelensky just doesn't know how to negotiate or is too stubborn or whatever and not that negotiation with a Russia is useless because they lie and do whatever the fuck they want. Regardless of what they may have agreed to.
Russia doesn't respect anything but it's own ambitions. Not the UN not the Hague not the ICC not human life. They do not engage with any bilateral or multilateral process in good faith. Never have.
I just hope this means now they will stop treating nations surrounding Russia as if we're paranoid, irrational and hysterical and start listening.

Tumblr media
okay this is only part of their post but it's the part i take the most issue with. i screenshotted rather than reblogged because i don’t want this person catching flak for one stupid post. granted, the post irked me enough to write all this bullshit, but i’m not mad at this person in particular, moreso the overall direction that the disk horse is currently going in
i'm gonna break this down into points.
1) “i want him to take off his helmet because i want to see his face, but i feel like w/ this new information if we get that kind of scene it's going to HURT” - so far the only time din's helmet has been removed was during a traumatic experience. he did not want to take it off. it was scary for him. why the hell do you want it to come off when he's adamant that it stays on? bc that means likely the only way we're seeing his face is if it's taken off against his will. either that, or he abandons his creed in a crisis of faith, which would also be traumatic. so i agree that if the helmet comes off, the scene is going to hurt to watch. why do you want that??
2) “...that he's in a cult...” - the children of the watch don't fit the definition of a cult. instead of being a cult, they're a diaspora with a shared creed. their 'isolation' stems from safety measures taken in the wake of the purge - face coverings for safety, only one member of the covert can leave at a time, and literally living in the sewers to avoid detection. these are all valid actions, considering that the covert is slaughtered as soon as they’re discovered, and that din has been accosted for his armor twice in three episodes, way after the purge ended. if that's how the galaxy treats mandalorians, then you bet your ass that their secrecy is justified, unlike the secrecy found in cults.
the children of the watch are not exploitative, either, which is a hallmark of cults. they saved din during the clone wars, came to din's aid on nevarro, and were systematically killed for doing so. they knew this was a risk, but they did it anyways, because it was the right thing to do to protect the child.
cults are also closed to outsiders. now, i'm extrapolating from legends here, so bear with me. bo-katan said they followed the 'old ways' or something along those lines. the most well known mandalorian code of conduct was the resol'nare, or the 6 tenants. they were: wearing armor, speaking the language, defending oneself and family, raising your children as mandalorians, contributing to the clan's welfare, and aiding the mand'alor when called to. anyone who followed these tenants could claim to be a mandalorian. anyone. that's why i said they have a shared creed, not a shared race. anyone can become a mandalorian in legends, and if disney keeps that canon, then that's the exact opposite of being 'closed off'.
3)”... as if it were his choice when clearly it wasn't” - okay show me where he was forced into this ~evil cult~. show me where he has no agency. din was rescued and taken in as a child, yes, but he currently upholds and defends his belief system, and actively chooses on multiple occasions to stay true to his creed. even if he abandons the way later in the season (which I sincerely hope that he doesn't), he was never forced into his belief system - he was raised with it. i wasn't forced into christianity*, i was simply raised with it. did i eventually leave the faith? yeah, and my parents were chill. there's a big difference between being forced into it and raised with it.
4) “he was robbed of getting to show his face to another person and being lied to. that's a shock to him and he's going to have to deal with it in his own way” - hoo boy. HOO BOY. how was he """robbed""" of anything? if you're talking abt omera in s1, he made the decision to keep his helmet on himself (sidenote: omera was not disrespecting him by trying to take his helmet off ffs) and so how could he feel """robbed""" when he was the one to make that call?
onto the next part - what was he lied to about? the origins of the children of the watch? why tell din about their links to an organization that they don’t even resemble anymore?
the last part, the part about this being a shock to him, is likely correct. anyone would be shocked if someone told them they were actually a member of a cult. din being shocked doesn’t mean that bo-katan was right, though. bo-katan is a liar. even if you don't take into account her own past with death watch that she conveniently left out, she lied to din about taking the ship, rather than just stealing weapons. she did this for self serving reasons - she wanted information on the darksaber. at the end, she asks din to stay. who's to say she didn't tell him his clan was a cult to drive him away from his creed because she wanted to gain another grunt for her team? do i think that this is her angle? no, bc i don't think she or the writers are smart enough for that. but could it have been her motive for the cult comment? anything is possible, especially in light of the fact that she's left out her own involvement with death watch when telling din his clan was a cult.
that’s it. that’s all. shit, i def put way more effort into this post than i should have, but what’s done is done. i’m tired of people calling any old religion a cult just because they don’t like it. words have meanings, you can’t just say whatever the fuck you want and not get called out on it. sorry if this comes off as aggressive, but i’m fed up with this discourse, and this will be my only post on it.
*the mandalorians are not coded as christian, and here’s a post on why. i’m using this analogy because i was raised with a belief system like din was, not because the children of the watch resemble christianity.
