if you told me even just 2 weeks ago that i would be rating an accidental pregnancy book even close to this high, i'd tell you you were crazy. but winter, theo, and vivi all together just cracked my heart right open. i went into this pitting theo against cade as my favorite chestnut springs man but he quickly stole my heart and left poor cade in the dust. i really wasn't expecting the love that i had for this book at all. i think that there were so many positives that i just was smiling like an idiot reading the whole time.

winter and theo were such a welcome pairing and i think they really played off of each other to change each other for the better. getting to watch theo deal with his own insecurities while also being 100% there for winter was perfect. winter getting to feel secure with something for once in her life and feel completely supported by someone was hitting me in the chest harder and harder the more i read. i think that she just needed to feel a part of a family and she really got that in this book and it made me so happy.

i also loved all of the snippets we got about the eaton family and how it's changed since we were introduced to it in the first book. they've really just grown into their own and become such a supportive unit for anyone that enters their family. where is my canadian cowboy family to adopt me? getting to read about winter's relationship with the other girls was so heart warming and i swear i could read a book just about the girls and their daily adventures in the eaton family.

overall, i adored this and i love this series and i'm about to be crushed to finish it with this next book but i can totally see myself coming back and rereading these books a few times at least.

q & a:

are they endgame? - i'm gonna say yes pretty confidently actually. i think that theo really understands winter's trauma and why she is so hesitant towards that long term relationship but we saw him start to reassure her and really make her comfortable with it towards the end of the book. for that reason, i think he has a really good grip on how to guide her and make her feel really grounded in their relationship to keep them endgame.

did i cringe? - shockingly, considering the fact that this is a trope that i never read and usually don't like, i didn't cringe at all. i was melting reading this book i loved it. there wasn't any cringey dialogue or scenarios. i think you could probably argue that some of theo's flirty dialogue has a bit of a cringey aspect to it but i personally found it really endearing.

favorite part? - winter. i was in love with winter the whole book. i think this book really felt like the start of the end of the series and i think a lot of that came from this conclusion to the hamilton family storylines that were opened up in flawless and left unfinished. it still leaves stuff for the last book to tackle but i found myself so attached to winter and getting to read the other side of what summer dealt with and the way that she handled everything both then and now with the baby. i really think that both winter and theo's sides of the accidental pregnancy were explored so thoroughly and that made me so happy to see because i think they both went through so much with all of that. i loved the way that winter really started to come into her own and be this really strong character with so many layers. i just adored the characterization of everyone in this book but specifically winter.

least favorite part? - i think that the one thing that stood out to me was the lack of beau in this book which felt strange since every book so far usually leads into the next one really well. it even mentioned towards the end that he wasn't there and it just felt really odd because he was super present in book three which left this book feeling like we've just kind of left him. i'm sure this will be explained in the next one but with the trend of this series, it did stand out to me. other than that, i don't think i could figure out a least favorite thing haha. i adored this book.

Also, for Fear Factor: I know you've been wanting to rewrite that for a while. I know you're still outlining, but are there sections you really like from your original version? Or stuff you definitely want to change/remove?

Honestly, I'm kind of always thinking about that pregnancy fic. Pregnancy fics are one of those tropes that can be really hit or miss for me? I don't usually enjoy next gen fics, so for me this is more about... The circumstances that might have brought this baby into existence, and what the characters are going to do about it.

I think it was sparked when I read a really good unplanned/teen pregnancy fic for another fandom, and the ending just... Got me thinking. That, and I love thinking about what kind of fucked up anatomy a Revonnahgander/human hybrid might end up with.

For one, I think that the child's legs would be fucked. Thanks to Revonnahganders having less dense/longer legs in general, the whole skeleton is kind of... Janky. The baby would not really be able to walk, probably ever. Not without intensive surgery and physical therapy, anyway.

The baby would probably have a more protruding jaw and sharper teeth. Flatter nose and more sunken in eyes. Thick hair growth on their body and a stubby growth from their tailbone.

It would look uncanny as fuck, is what I'm saying.

(And, obviously, Ben and Rook would love their baby just the same 💕)

That being said, I want to grapple with some of the tougher questions around a situation like this that Ben might have to make decisions on. Like, is it cruel to bring a deformed baby into existence? Is it more cruel to abort it, having never given it a chance to grow and decide for itself if life is worth living? Would it be selfish to keep his baby when the universe needs him to be its hero 24/7? Rook is so traditional, would Ben be trapping him in their relationship if he goes through with the birth?

And beyond that, how does Ben feel about himself? He's pretty sure that he doesn't want kids — not this young, anyway — and he feels incredibly dysphoric about the whole thing, which is only going to get worse. How can he be a man while pregnant? His sense of masculinity is tied to his physical state, so, without that...

Much to think about. This hypothetical pregnancy fic that I may or may not write is not going to be a happy, fluffy story.

As for Fear Factor, I want to rewrite chapter one (the only bit I've written anything for, anyway) because I don't think that the opening fight scene flows well at all.

I've been rewatching s2 and I can honestly say it is the messiest season in the entire show. I suppose it's kind of understandable since a) the show was still kind of finding it's footing with expanding on characters and plotlines and b) the pandemic really changed a lot of plans. The messiest thing they did though was the entire storyline revolving around Gwyn and Owen.

As much as I liked Gwyn, I never got the feeling even when the season first aired that she was meant to stick around for good and rewatching has reinforced that for me. Considering we barely even got a mention of her on s1, it seems very strange that they would suddenly have her moving in with Owen in s2. I suspect that the real reason she was even brought in is bc both the actress who played Zoe and Liv Tyler decided to leave and bc heaven forbid Owen have one season without a love interest or at least some female character that he has sexual tension with, they decided to bring Gwyn in. I do like that they chose Lisa Edelstein bc her and Rob Lowe obviously have great chemistry and it's a really cool nod to their time on the West Wing. It's actually really cool bc if you watch their scenes in the West Wing, you can kind of imagine them as a young Owen and Gwyn when they first got together. But then they introduced the whole baby thing. And the whole surprise baby storyline has always been my most despised trope in any show bc it is so narratively lazy and 99% of the time adds absolutely nothing to the show. It certainly didn't add anything to this one. There was literally no reason to bring that in especially considering that the plan was pretty obviously to always have Gwn and Owen break up again.

All this storyline did was make both Gwyn and Owen look pretty bad as parents. I usually defend Owen quite a bit (and will continue to do so bc the hate this man gets is truly ridiculous) but I do understand why people were so upset with him in s2. The Owen we saw in s2 was almost unrecognizable than the one we saw in s1. The version we got in s3 was better than what we got in early s2. It's like he literally forgot that he had a son during that time. And the same goes for Gwyn too. Not once did either Gwyn or Owen think about how they were hurting their son with the way they were behaving. The storyline also made no sense from a realistic perspective. Gwyn would've been in her 50s in s2 and at the very least pre-menopausal yet somehow she gets accidentally pregnant? And then the same Gwyn who is shown to be very pragmatic and reasonable doesn't once consider the very large risk factors involved with pregnancy at such an advanced age? Not to mention how that would affect her career at that point in her life? Instead Owen is shown to be the one who's struggling with the idea. Tbh as much as I commend the show for usually dealing with sensitive topics really well, this whole storyline gave me some real "written by men who have no idea how women even work" vibes. It made zero sense to have the storyline at all considering they have Owen and Gwyn break up anyway.

It made even less sense after they decided to kill Gwyn off. And tbh I wasn't even surprised that they decided to do that bc like I said, it was pretty obvious that Gwyn was never meant to be brought into the show to begin with. Even when they brought her back in s3, it was obviously done to fuel Owen's s3 mid-life crisis. In fact, this point is literally stated by Mateo. As sad as her death was bc I did like Gwyn, at least it contributed something to the show itself as well as allow a deeper look into TK's character. The same can not be said for the baby storyline at all.

I know some people have been upset that we don't see or hear any mention of Jonah or Enzo and I do understand why. It does seem really weird. But at the same time, I'm actually not upset bc I never liked that whole storyline to begin with and I'm glad to just forget about it lol. Besides, I feel that the baby storyline is similar to the Iris storyline but in the opposite direction. As in, with Iris they may well have planned something for her in s2 but bc Liv Tyler left they decided to scrap those plans. That's understandable but then by bringing her back in s4, they ended up creating all these plotholes for the previous seasons. But ok, at least Iris's storyline contributed something and we got introduced to an interesting new character. As I said before, I would be down for seeing Iris again. But with the baby thing, it was created pretty obviously for the sole purpose of drama, it clearly wasn't all that popular even at the time and I think the writers probably regretted creating it to begin with. Not that they'd ever admit it since they couldn't even admit that the Iris storyline was not something that they'd been planning the whole time even though it's super obvious. It genuinely feels like they started regretting it very early on but bc it's a procedural show on cable TV didn't feel comfortable really taking the plunge to maybe find a way to get rid of the storyline in a realistic way (eg miscarriage or abortion) and so just ended up going along with it in the messiest way possible. Any mention we got of the baby pretty much from the beginning felt so forced. As if the writers kept thinking "oh shoot we brought this in and now we have to follow it through." But now they have no reason to do so and I suspect that they're perfectly happy to effectively retcon the whole thing and act like it never happened. And you know what? I'm not even upset about it. All things considered, retconning it actually makes more sense that having had it in the first place. At least, they're still including Gwyn and remembering her. To me, that matters more. I'm not gonna tell anybody else what to do but I feel like it might just be better to go with the flow and erase the baby thing from our minds for our own sanity. It's not like the show makes it hard.

Anyway, I just needed to get these thoughts out bc rewatching the first couple of seasons with the hindsight that we have now is truly an experience

Also, please do not make Leia cheat on him. An AU where they never got together is fine, or just a “we broke up” throw-away line would suffice. If he is part of the  requested pairing then you can do as you see fit--Leia/Luke allowing him into their bedroom, Han/Leia having a threesome with Luke, all three in love from the start, Han shipping the twins and getting them to admit their feelings for each other, etc. Generally I prefer Luke/Leia+Han (vs. Han/Leia+Luke), but I’m 100% okay with a happy domestic fluff thing where they all three live together. I'm also fine with Han/Luke in that regard. (I vastly prefer a true threesome vs. a V where both love Leia but not each other. Han/Luke when Leia is off on a diplomatic mission is fine, though preferrably kept to a minimum in the story.)

Probably unsurprisingly, I am also not a fan of Mara Jade in "Legends" and would prefer her to AU not exist, for her and Luke to "broken up," or for it to be set before she and Luke hook up. I would also be fine with something like Mara likes to watch but not be involved, Mara is Luke's "beard" so he can Leia and be together (and in that case Luke can be Mara's "beard" for any pairing you want Mara to be part of if you want), etc.

However, if you want to do a total AU ("What if... Luke was sold to Jabba as Tatooine slave when he was a child?") or a non-stop Luke/Leia rapefest or something, I am open to it. I'd prefer a glimmer of a happy ending, but that happy ending could be them getting mindbroken fucked and stockholm'd happy with their situation. "What if... the Empire never took Bespin, Luke rejoined them and they hid out there for a few months?" Lando helps Luke build a wardrobe (but without super gay Chanel boots fanon Luke, please)? Lando is Force-sensitive? Luke is hiding from the pain of Han/Leia at Lando's and ends up telling him the truth about his feelings and Lando helps play matchmaker? Han continues being an abusive asshole to Leia and Lando and Luke put a stop to it and treat her right? Leia seduces both of them? Space sex pollen?

I'd like either a What If? AU ("What if Han died in the carbonite?" "What if they were both captured by the Empire?" "What if Obi-Wan told Luke she was his sister sooner?" "What if Luke never learned they were siblings?" "What if Leia went to Dagobah with him?" "What if they hooked up before Luke discovered they were siblings?" "What if Luke got Leia pregnant after he blew up the first Death Star?" "What if Luke never met Yoda?") WHATEVER. Or something like a "coffee shop AU" if you think you can pull it off. (Not specifically a coffee shop AU, just something out of universe. It could be set in the 1970s and Luke is a midwest farm boy and Leia is a high society girl from New York; they could be mermaids; it could be fantasy; it could be a high school AU, whatever.) I love them together. I would like them to be in love with each other by the end of the story. If you have an idea for a Post-RotJ scenario, I am all for it. If you want to write a "between the scenes" thing like them hooking up between ANH and ESB or whatever, that is fine, too. I just want to push the limits when it comes to stories for them because I feel a lot of them are treading the same water. Go crazy and weird! Time travel! Dimension hopping! Crossover with something else! I just want more people to love them.

Leia Organa/Luke Skywalker/Biggs Darklighter

"What if... Biggs didn't die?" lol I'd love a Biggs who survived the battle at Yavin and got a proper reunion with Luke. Maybe he and Leia already know each other? Maybe Luke can be the Big Man now and introduce Biggs to the Princess. Maybe Luke/Biggs was already a thing and Leia wants in on it. Maybe Leia is into Biggs to Luke's sadness and then it turns out they wanted him as a third all along. I am open to what you come up with!

Leia Organa/Luke Skywalker/C3PO

Okay, this is probably a bit of a crackship, but I am up for it. C3PO can be a participant with some useful sex attachment, or just watching/assisting, whatever floats your boat. Perhaps he plays Matchmaker! "I do believe there is no need for concern, Master Luke. The odds of an incestuous child being born with genetic issues in this day and age are 5,678,345 to one!" I generally prefer not to have Dark Side Luke/Leia because I think it's overdone, but if you've got a unique spin on it, I am open to it. I have often thought a path for this scenario could go Luke/Leia admit their feelings which is Obviously Wrong and Dark Side, so they give in and turn and have great incest sex, they soon discover being in love and incestuous is actually Wonderful and Right and Good, and through their love they turn to the Light side again! Vader can help facilitate all of this. I am also 200% down for Vader/Leia/Luke DP. If twincest is fine, then adding Dad shouldn't be a problem, right? Bonus points if this somehow prevents Alderaan from being destroyed.

Leia Organa/Luke Skywalker/Han Solo

I'd be open to anything here, same as with Lando. I can see almost any Luke/Leia alone scenario just tweaked to add Han. I do think Han can act as a balance for Luke and Leia to keep them from spiraling too far into each other. I personally think that the Force/twin connection between Luke/Leia would make Han feel left out/third wheel, but that could also be a fun angle. How do they make him feel loved and included? ("What if... Han was secretly also Force sensitive?")

I also have a slight headcanon that Han is a trans man/super bottom, so if it tickles your fancy to write, for example, Leia with a strap on and Luke with a big dick DPing Han's ass and boypussy, I'd be all for that. Maybe Tarkin just likes to watch... "What if... they manage to turn Tarkin to the 'good side' via the power of their sex?" I am all for redemption of Tarkin or utter corruption of the twins. They can fly away and live happily-ever-after with him, or they can escape the Death Star moments before it explodes with him on it. Or anything in between. (Maybe Tarkin, knowing the Force is real because of Vader, wants to breed Luke/Leia in an effort to capture more Jedi magic... and gets a little carried away... or wants to do some impregnation himself...)

How about some time travel for this? You'll probably need an AU where Luke lives as well. Maybe Luke and Finn are training in the Force and somehow open a portal that either brings young Leia to them, or else travels them to her. No real plot there, other than I think it'd be fun and hot. You can pick the time period Leia is from. I'm down with post-RotJ Leia, but you could do pre-ANH, as well. Leia at the imperial academy and she's seduced by two strange hot guys? Go for it.

Finn (ST)/Leia Organa/Luke Skywalker (OT)

Similar to the idea above, except in this case it's just Finn time traveling to young Luke and Leia, or Luke and Leia time traveling to Finn. Heck, it could even be some sort of meditation/dream thing where they never actually interact, but it "feels so real" in his head. Like sex with a Force ghost or something. I am 100% here for Force sensitive Finn, and I think young Luke/Leia/Finn would be super hot. I would be stoked if you could manage some Happily Ever After for all three, maybe this has to be an alternate timeline/parallel universe, but I'm into it. Also feel free to make it a one-time-only thing though.

Leia Organa (OT)/Din Djarin (Mando)/Luke Skywalker (Mando) 

By "OT" for Leia I basically mean "wherever Leia is during the events of The Mandalorian" though if you wanna do some time travel hijinx here, go for it. I am fine with this being Din/Luke where they add Leia, but my preference would be Luke/Leia that adds Din. Perhaps Grogu sets it up (cute little matchmaker). Perhaps incest is considered holy or normal among Mandalores. I like the level of trust and intimacy it would require. Perhaps Din catches them and promises them secrecy. Perhaps no one knows Luke and Leia are siblings. Perhaps it's a total AU where they're all Mandalorians! Have fun with it! (I've never read any Luke/Din stories, so if you're coming from that angle, please don't over trope it with Luke/Din fanon.)

Leia Organa/Luke Skywalker (OT)/Finn/Rey (ST) 

Okay, this is basically the same as the Finn ones, except now we add Rey. I am very fond of Finn/Rey as well, so I think these two couples seeing reflections of each other in the opposite couple would be lovely. I am down for a big foursome, but if you'd rather write Finn/Rey and Luke/Leia that's fine. (Also fine with swapping partners, so long as there's some Luke/Leia and Finn/Rey in there.) Happy to have a parallel timeline or alternate universe where they can all happily ever after together, but also content to have Jedi magic have them briefly meet and have sexy times, before returning them to their timelines. It can totally be a post-RotJ Luke/Leia.

Luke Skywalker (BoBF)/Leia Organa (OT) 

This is basically just another version of Luke/Leia. I wanted to cover all my bases. But perhaps Leia sees or hears about Luke's performance from BoBF and it makes her reach out to him again after a long time of not communicating. (Is she concerned? Turned on? Both?)

Luke Skywalker (Mando)/Leia Organa (OT) 

Basically same as above.

Luke Skywalker (Mando)/Leia Organa (OWK) 

Okay, this is probably one of my most controversial pairings. I don't really want to see OWK-era Leia having sex, but I would be fine with kissing/hugging if done not too creepily. Sex is fine if she is aged to 13-16 or so. This could be another time-travel thing, it could be a Force-mind-connection thing. It could be a really weird dream. It could be two alternate timelines crashing (due to plot) that brings them together. I would definitely like some attraction between them. I am fine with sex if she's at least pubescent, but Luke should probably have a lot of (delicious) guilt about it. If you wanna go super kinky, go for it. Luke finding a way to time travel back to when Leia is like 14-16 and at the imperial academy is definitely a kink of mine. She doesn't know who he is, but he knows who she is. They have natural attraction and maybe hook up (to Luke's surprise), and both really enjoy it. He'll probably have to do a mind-wipe or create an alternate timeline/parallel universe, but I am totally here for it. Give me some crazy age-gapped twincest.

Young Obi-Wan with Luke/Leia? Hot damn, yes please. However you want to make it happen, I am here for it. Bringing him to the future temporarily could be cool... a real Jedi Master to teach Luke and Leia... but I could also enjoy Luke/Leia going to the past to meet him. Are they shades of Anakin/Padme? Does Obi-Wan know who they are? It could be set post-Revenge of the Sith if you want. It could be a really convincing hologram that Obi-Wan recorded long ago. It could be an alternate timeline/parallel universe Obi-Wan crossing over into a different dimension. It could be a total AU where somehow Obi-Wan never aged, or was always young, or hell, maybe they're all college classmates in an AU. Whatever works for me.

Rey (ST)/Leia Organa/Luke Skywalker

Same idea as Finn/Luke/Leia, just with Rey instead. I admit, of the three scenarios (Finn alone, Rey alone, Finn and Rey together) this is the one I am least excited about... but if you have a great idea, let's go!

I have no specific scenarios, I just wanted the option of Legends era Luke/Leia.

Same as my OT Luke/Leia/Han scenarios, but now with Legends canon added!

Luke Skywalker/Leia Organa/Jacen Solo/Jaina Solo (Legends) 

Twin on twin action sounds fun. Is it something the Force encourages, perhaps? Does one set of twins catch the other set of twins in a compromising situation and it ignites desire for them? This can be a foursome if you want, or both pairs having sex at the same time but separately (secretly or not). I am fine with either. Bonus points if Jacen and Jaina are secretly Luke and Leia's kids.

Hello, can you tell us the inspiration behind your OCs? Or perhaps provide some visuals?

I personally see the OC from Her is like a mix of Rihanna and Baek Yerin in terms of personality and musical style, and the OC from A Man For All Seasons somewhat reminds me of Inga Lam from Buzzfeed Tasty 😅

And there are some who are just so cool and yet so human, I don't know who to associate them with (e.g the noona from A Woman of a Certain Age, and the Baepsae Financial's Y/N)

OC Visuals

I have no idea what various OCs look like or would look like - and am reluctant to add to it in specificity. Mostly because for me, once a movie version of a book comes out, whatever I imagined them to be disappears and is superimposed with the visual and that makes me sad. I can never picture Galadriel as anyone other than Cate Blanchett (and as much as I love Cate Blanchett, it makes me sad, too).

Other than providing general descriptions in terms of perhaps a specific ethnicity, I try to keep physical descriptions open because I, in general, don't physically describe characters or their appearance. This is probably because I find the internal much more interesting - and also because I do not feel terribly confident in my physical descriptors or fashion sense.

(Sorry if that is disappointing!)

OC Inspirations

Full disclosure: all my OCs are at heart, myself. Regardless of what their backgrounds or stories are, I usually take a part of myself and flesh it out. Spin it into what-ifs, etc., throw them into a scenario and see how it plays out. That doesn't mean they ARE me, or that they look like me, but their essence is me.

1) Her series: Main OC

I know I just said that OCs aren't necessarily me, but uh... fun fact: when I first got into BTS, I tried to think of how I, as myself, could conceivably meet them and be with them. I aged myself down 15 years and tried to keep as much of who I am or was (or wished to be) and that is the OC. This includes her interests and musical tastes.

So 100%, this OC - out of all other OCs - is the most me.

2) A Woman of a Certain Age: Unni OC

Unni is every badass woman that I wish I could be!! She's just so strategic and deliberate - the total opposite of me. The only thing we really have in common is our penchant for expensive jewelry lol. Also, their difficulty and pain at trying to conceive was inspired by many of my friends who also had unexplained infertility. Honestly, I wish I were Unni 100%.

3) A Man for All Seasons

I love a good trope and the OC's pregnancy/wedding situation is inspired by a friend that had this happen to them. I was Seokjin on the phone! The OC is also very me in the sense of Mandarin immersion for my kids, reading interests, and being really fertile (but not necessarily getting pregnant on birth control).

4) In Search of Higher Returns: Baepsae Financial OC

I used to be a financial advisor and also had my own firm and used to be a board member of the local Chamber of Commerce and though I was not remotely as successful, this OC/story was inspired by the fantasy of someone like Yoongi walking into my life after a long day of work. She is way cooler and more awesome than I ever could hope to be (or dress).

General inspirations

Many of these stories are inspired by two particular friends who literally live the YN life. They amuse me greatly and I love them more with my whole chest! A lot of the OC's friends and events are modeled off of my friends in real life - especially the MBAs and lawyers and generally all the older, middle-aged people in my life (of which I am one of).

Top 10 Worst Tropes in Romance - Part 2

Disclaimer: This is MY opinion, you do you.

Part 1: Here

1. The Child Partner

I’m not talking about literal children, because duh. What I mean is the a person who needs their partner to emotionally parent them.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the whole point of a romantic relationship is to be with an equal. You’re supposed to be teammates, best friends, and lovers.

Of course, I'm not including cases where one partner is disabled or chronically/mentally ill and needs the other to take care of them - that’s an entirely separate thing. 

I'm referring to people (usually cishet men), who constantly need their partner to manage their moods and emotions. They always have some ~trauma~ to manipulate the partner into staying in the relationship in order to keep reassuring them, confirming their self-esteem, and even doing their cooking and cleaning, as if they aren't abled adults with two functioning hands.

That shit sucks!

Imagine doing that for someone all the time and then also trying to have a kid (or multiple kids) with that person. Not only will you be taking care of your actual child; but also - your partner-child. Stop normalizing lazy, emotionally stunted men. That shit ain't cut no matter how hard his abs are or how big his dick is.

2. “I’ve been in love with you since the first moment we met.”

I don’t know what it is about this trope, but it shows up in many romances and it always makes me uncomfortable. How the hell are you supposed to react to that? 

Oh, you’ve been in love with me since the first time we met? Yikes, my dude.

You can’t even fall in love with someone that fast anyway. You're not in love with the person, you’re in love with your idea of them!

The only acceptable version of this is the one where it’s more along the lines “I thought I might fall in love with you if I spent any more time with you.” But other than that, I really don't understand why this is a thing?

3. Lust = Love

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a prude. I’m perfectly fine with couples who have loads and loads of sex. I’m also perfectly fine with casual sex and friends-with-benefits and any other consensual arrangement between adults.

I just get tripped up when pretty much all a couple does is have sex. They have little in common outside of sex, spend little time together when not having sex, and don’t share any hobbies, interests or even conversation topics. Or worse, when they aren’t having sex, they’re fighting. 

If you want your characters to get laid, that’s cool. But if you want me to believe they are also falling in love - you’re gonna have to try a little harder.

4. BDSM = Abuse

Yes, abuse happens under the pretense of BDSM, but BDSM is NOT inherently abusive. It only happens within pre-established boundaries and safe words and with explicit consent. The only people who claim it's abuse, are people who have a vested interest in controlling what women and queer people do with our bodies.

So I really, really hate it when people use “It’s just BDSM, don’t be so uptight” to justify their rapey, abusive love interest’s actions. If the submissive has not already consented, or their consent was obtained through manipulation or intoxication - it’s not meaningful consent.

BDSM is a lot more complex than some of the simplistic catchphrases we use to explain it to the vanillas, and we can discuss those complexities for hours, but at the one thing is definitely true - the Dominant only has as much power as the submissive is willing to give. 7. He treats everyone like crap ***but you***.

You know the limitus test to see if someone’s a good person? Look at how they treat people who are “beneath” them. Their servers, the cleaning lady, etc.

If this guy treats servers like crap, treats his friends and family like crap, treats everyone like crap, except for the person whose pants he wants to get in (or wants to keep getting in for the foreseeable future), why are we romanticizing him? He’s a selfish jackass.

You can have a grumpy (but ultimately caring and good-natured) character, that's fine. But if he only treats people like humans when it benefits him - that's not sexy, that's sociopathic.

8. Love Cures All

Ahhh, the worst of them all. Truly, having a character who suffers from mental illness or has a major trauma, but oh look, they got some cuddles from the love interest and now they are all good!

Just stop, please. It’s so damaging to the people who are going through this, to tell them that all they need to feel better is ~~~LoVe~~~. And if they aren’t getting better? Well, they just haven’t gotten enough ~~~LoVe~~~!

It’s also damaging to the partner - no one should have this much responsibility on their shoulders.

Obviously, the love of a partner, friends, and family can HELP with the healing process, but it’s not enough by itself. Get them some goddamn therapy, please.

9. Accidental Pregnancy

I don’t know about you, but for most people I know, myself included, accidental pregnancy would be an absolute nightmare, not something romantic.

Do you know how bad my entire generation is doing financially? And people use this as a plot device to strengthen the relationship?

Also, please do not make Leia cheat on him. An AU where they never got together is fine, or just a “we broke up” throw-away line would suffice. If he is part of the  requested pairing then you can do as you see fit--Leia/Luke allowing him into their bedroom, Han/Leia having a threesome with Luke, all three in love from the start, Han shipping the twins and getting them to admit their feelings for each other, etc. Generally I prefer Luke/Leia+Han (vs. Han/Leia+Luke), but I’m 100% okay with a happy domestic fluff thing where they all three live together. The classic. I think most of all what I'd like to see with a pairing about them is just something different. I don't need to see them hooking up after Endor, that's been written plenty. It could be set in the 1970s and Luke is a midwest farm boy and Leia is a high society girl from New York; they could be mermaids; it could be fantasy; it could be a high school AU, whatever.) I love them together. I would like them to be in love with each other by the end of the story. If you have an idea for a Post-RotJ scenario, I am all for it. If you want to write a "between the scenes" thing like them hooking up between ANH and ESB or whatever, that is fine, too. I just want to push the limits when it comes to stories for them because I feel a lot of them are treading the same water. Go crazy and weird! Time travel! Dimension hopping! Crossover with something else! I just want more people to love them.

I'd be open to anything here. I can see almost any Luke/Leia alone scenario just tweaked to add Han. I do think Han can act as a balance for Luke and Leia to keep them from spiraling too far into each other. I personally think that the Force/twin connection between Luke/Leia would make Han feel left out/third wheel, but that could also be a fun angle. How do they make him feel loved and included? ("What if... Han was secretly also Force sensitive?")

I also have a slight headcanon that Han is a trans man/super bottom, so if it tickles your fancy to write, for example, Leia with a strap on and Luke with a big dick DPing Han's ass and boypussy, I'd be all for that. "What if Vader lived?" or "What if Luke and Leia were captured?" "What if Vader raised one of the twins?" I generally prefer not to have Dark Side Luke/Leia because I think it's overdone, but if you've got a unique spin on it, I am open to it. I have often thought a path for this scenario could go Luke/Leia admit their feelings which is Obviously Wrong and Dark Side, so they give in and turn and have great incest sex, they soon discover being in love and incestuous is actually Wonderful and Right and Good, and through their love they turn to the Light side again! Vader can help facilitate all of this. I am also 200% down for Vader/Leia/Luke DP. If twincest is fine, then adding Dad shouldn't be a problem, right? You've got options here: old Obi-Wan lives, time travel or AU with young Obi-Wan Young OR we could do the "Kenobi" series Obi-Wan. (With Luke/Leia aged up a little.) "What if... Obi-Wan lived?" is probably the obvious choice here. I am open to your interpretation. "We have to repopulate the Jedi and you're the only girl left!" could be one... Or you could say he raised them both somewhere together. Or perhaps being with them again is like being with Anakin and Padme again after so long and he is unable to control himself... Young Obi-Wan with Luke/Leia? Hot damn, yes please. However you want to make it happen, I am here for it. Bringing him to the future temporarily could be cool... a real Jedi Master to teach Luke and Leia... but I could also enjoy Luke/Leia going to the past to meet him. Are they shades of Anakin/Padme? Does Obi-Wan know who they are? It could be set post-Revenge of the Sith if you want. It could be a really convincing hologram that Obi-Wan recorded long ago, or a Force Ghost. It could be an alternate timeline/parallel universe Obi-Wan crossing over into a different dimension. It could be a total AU where somehow Obi-Wan never aged, or was always young, or hell, maybe they're all college classmates in an AU. Whatever works for me.

If you go with "Kenobi" series Obi-Wan, please age the twins to at least 13. Do you want creepy pedophile Obi-Wan? Go for it. Maybe he wants to breed Leia himself to create more Jedi. Perhaps it's a Jedi/Padawan ritual to keep them closer. Maybe he's lost his god-damn mind. Maybe he walks in on the twins innocently fooling around and jerks off. Maybe they're all captured by the Empire and Forced to do sexy things to each other. I have no idea. I'd prefer it to be less creepy and more consensual, so perhaps the twins coming on to/seducing him? I think the obvious one here is the rescue of Han fails and both are captured. I would be really excited to see this done well as a slow-burn where Luke and Leia fall in love while also being forced to service Jabba, eventually resulting in them escaping after having discovered/admitted their true feelings for each other. However, if you want to do a total AU ("What if... Luke was sold to Jabba as Tatooine slave when he was a child?") or a non-stop Luke/Leia rapefest or something, I am open to it. I'd prefer a glimmer of a happy ending, but that happy ending could be them getting mindbroken fucked and stockholm'd happy with their situation. I am 100% fine with monster sex with big Hutt cocks and weird sex drugs and shit if you want to go there. Or, "What if... Jabba was actually a really great lover?" lol It'd be very nice if you can somehow work in Luke/Leia knowing they're twins in the scenario.

I love Doctor Who, both the new series and classic. I went with "Doctor Who" instead of any specific Doctor because I figure that'd give us more wiggle room. My favorite Doctors are: 2nd Doctor, 4th Doctor, 5th Doctor, 9th Doctor, 11th Doctor, 12th Doctor, 15th Doctor, but you can do whichever one you feel most comfortable with. I won't DNW it, but I'd rather you didn't write the 10th/14th Doctor. (But you can if you absolutely must.) Scenarios here are pretty easy: the Doctor shows up, meddles, and seduces/gets seduced! It could be especially fun if he is the catalyst for Luke/Leia hooking up/admitting their True Feelings for one another. But I am open for anything!
