#I don't think enough about Morgana lol

Do you have any headcanons of Morgana?
Hmmm I don't really think much about her if I'm being honest, but here's a few!
Morgana came into her magic pretty late compared to other wizards, such as Douxie. She's actually in her thirties during Camelot and only stops aging after she's trapped in the Trollmarket Heartstone. She would have anyway stopped aging, but most of her centuries were spent trapped, so she never really matured, her mind stayed trapped in a way too.
I think it's very hard to keep your sanity if you can't move your body and only have yourself for company. So I imagine despite Morgana finding ways to semi communicate with her changelings, she went a little mad during all the centuries she was imprisoned. That explains how crazy she was when she was eventually freed.
Morgana actually cared about Douxie quite a bit, she considered him almost a younger brother. But the fact he didn't question or defy Merlin or Arthur when he KNEW they were wrong frustrated her to no end. So she eventually clumped him with Merlin and Arthur to soothe her conscience when she fought against him in Wizards.
#trollhunters#tales of arcadia#Douxie#Merlin toa#Arthur toa#Wizards TOA#Morgana#Headcanons#Ask answers#I don't think enough about Morgana lol#She had the potential to be a very sympathetic and relatable character with a lot of depth#But instead her characterisation is conflicted and doesn't make sense#But I'm going to definitely try and do her justice in Challenging Destiny and right the wrongs in Canon

Quick snippet from 10/26. In case you ever wondered whether Akechi knows Mona talks all along... watch him here, and listen to him. At first he's on script—entirely in control even when he talks about how he was supposedly nearly murdered by himself. It's the same tone he uses on the news. He's gone over this speech a dozen times.
Then Morgana talks, and while Akechi does react, he's still acting. He's still on script, prepared and practiced. The portrait looks shocked, but the model is just standing there, playing detective....
... until Ann steps in with "our friend who taught us about the Metaverse":
He jumps back so fast I didn't have time to load the textbox, lol. "What do you MEAN you had a MAGIC CAT GUIDE, the FUCK??"
Of course he knew Mona talks. How does he expose himself, right away on 6/9?—he hears Mona talking about pancakes. He had to be close enough to hear Mona, the cat. So it's not Mona talking that shocks him, but the revelation that Joker and the rest had help, had a guide from the very beginning, when he did not.
And you can hear his voice change register at that moment. That careful, controlled, rehearsed tone goes out of the window. He talks faster, he pitches up, he's breathless, without a script. He is, in short, more real. And he immediately asks Mona a question:
He really hasn't solved that mystery; he really wants to know. In fact, he has to know—about the difference in their methods and his own, which he just can't figure out....
There's a little of that high-pitched breathiness when he talks about his awakening, too. I'd say that's pretty much how it happened way back when, and he's adapted the story a little. "I can't die here... I need to determine the truth"—of course he did. The same truth that his "sole interest is uncovering"—the truth about Shido and himself.
What about that image of the killer, standing in the entrance to Okumura's Palace? Well, sometimes people think this is a photo, but it's not—Akechi doesn't produce any more photos, he just continues with his story. So this is presumably what Akechi pictures in his mind at that moment. This is his self-image, God help him:
Lastly, here's an incredulous Akechi with a bonus Futaba glaring at him. Don't neglect the models—they really repay close examination, and the face animation is often incredibly detailed. And as for whether Akechi is lying or not at any given moment—it's often easier to tell than you think.

Oh boy, now that I'm done with the rewatch it's time to air out some of the grievances I have with the writing choices made regarding the antagonists...
Starting off a little more positive – Merlin's portrayal worked fairly well overall as this arrogant manipulative old jerk of a wizard, who may have noble goals but achieves them via not so honorable methods in the name of the greater good.
It was a pretty good bait-and-switch with the way the show had built up this image of the mysterious and benevolent mage, but left enough hints to his true character via little details that quickly turn sour in hindsight once you've actually met him. He's not a villain, but they did make him a decent morally gray character in the few episodes he's around.
However, I think he should've been held more accountable for his actions and behavior, especially when his grand plan doesn't work out because he was too wrapped up in his own head to see the truth.
That leads me to Morgana, the big evil "mastermind" of the show. I have to say, I love how utterly unhinged they made her in the first half of season 3, though she loses some of that by the end of it. I don't really have many complaints about her as a villain, but rather like to nitpick aspects surrounding her character and some missed potential.
Design-wise I find her a little lackluster as someone called "the Eldritch Queen" and while it definitely was a fun idea to contrast Merlin's dark armor with all that gold, I believe they missed the mark a little. They should've gone a step further and contrasted the design even more by giving it a creepy and organic direction. Her "armor" could've been more insectoid and reminiscent of bones or dead wood.
Also, a small thing that always bothers me are the green accents on her, when that was being established as Merlin's color. It does connect them visually in a way, but mostly just feels out of place to me. Now, about that missed potential...
As a queen of shadows, I would've liked if they'd played up her insidious nature a little more. As Claire, instead of immediately trying (and badly failing) to kill the Trollhunter, they should've dragged out the possession a little. She could've used this position to destroy the team from within, test their limits, tear them apart to weaken their will, only to have it all backfire with how much they trust and care for each other. It would've paralleled Angor's approach, because considering his background, he must've picked up these methods from someone, no?
Another writing point that bothers me is her imprisonment. No matter how you look at it, sealing an ancient evil sorceress inside (or even near) the heartstone – a MAJOR source of pure energy – just sounds like an all around bad idea. Wouldn't it make sense for her to feed on that energy? And even if not that, shouldn't you be worried about her corrupting it??
I get that from an animation standpoint it's an extremely convenient way to have everything happening in one place, so you don't actually have to set up so many new assets, but man... it's just kind of stupid lol.
Honestly the way I would've rationalized this whole deal is: instead of having her sealed up in Arcadia Oaks, California of all places (why did they even end up there?) she could've been imprisoned within the previous Trollmarket in europe. Her and Gunmar have tried to bring about the Eternal Night before and almost succeeded, which led to the battle of Killahead, where both were sealed away.
Imagine Gunmar and his forces had taken the old Trollmarket and used its heartstone for that spell, draining it in the process. Although they were stopped and defeated, Trollmarket was destroyed and their rock of sustenance dead, which would prompt the trolls to leave and seek a new home across the globe.
Merlin could've trapped Morgana in the empty heartstone as a way to contain her powers, using the last of his magic. Maybe the reason he was so sure she would be weak and easy to vanquish after her imprisonment is because he had intended to slowly syphon her energy to empower himself and never considered that she would figure out how to reverse the spell to drain him instead.
And to add some flavor to this location, Morgana's presence could've twisted the old Trollmarket into something eery and barely recognizable, giving others reason to avoid this place. It could've served to show the heroes what may become of their beloved Trollmarket if Gunmar wins, given them more incentive to fight for what they have.
That's just an idea though.
Angor Rot was always a big pot of missed potential to me and his return in season 3 just ended up feeling, well, hollow lol. He was introduced as a great antagonist but in my honest opinion kinda fell off the moment they destroyed his soul and just turned him into an angry beast. Besides the overall bad taste it leaves behind, we really didn't need a Bular 2. And it's a little annoying they somewhat continued with that direction even when he was revived and supposedly got his soul back.
I like that they cared enough to dig a little into his conflicting emotions given his history & enslavement, but these moments should've been brought up in the climax of the first season. He should've regained his soul back then and suddenly be forced to reconcile with the atrocities committed in the name of his mistress. His revenge on Strickler should've conflicted with his newly regained conscience...
And, oh man, Strickler is a bit of an annoying case. It's kind of absurd to me that they would choose to give this man an easy "redemption" while tossing around Angor's corpse like that.
Angor Rot literally had his soul and autonomy taken from him and while these actions definitely twisted him throughout the ages, at the end of the day it was never his choice. Strickler was in a somewhat similar situation as a changeling made to serve Gunmar, but the major difference is that he did have a choice. Multiple even.
Even in his predicament, Angor chose to offer the Trollhunter a deal to free both of them of Strickler's control. Whether he actually would've honored that deal is hard to say, but I think even if he'd betrayed Jim's trust, it would've made for a good opportunity to speak of who he used to be and what he's become, and have his first real choice in centuries be to spare them.
Strickler on the other hand is far more vile and self-serving at his core. At first you could argue that it's mostly the (very real) threat of Bular breathing down his neck that pushes him to harm Jim despite his soft spot for the kid. But when both Bular and Gunmar are out of the picture, instead of using this freedom constructively, he doubles down on killing the Trollhunter while finding every opportunity to get under his skin.
This man literally chooses to continue beefing with a teenager and don't get me wrong, I love it. Comedy aside, it is genuinely a fun exploration of his character and what makes him work as a complex personal antagonist. But the fun quickly stops when they try to rush him into a lackluster "redemption arc" to get him on the main team.
I'm aware that tons of people love the stricklake pairing and "lady x monster man" is very much a del Toro staple, but I really don't think Strickler should've been "redeemed" given everything he did, there should've been FAR more serious repercussions. It would've made more sense to me to put him in a "reluctant, not entirely trustworthy, sort-of-ally" position than suddenly have him be one of the Good Guys because... romance?
Not to mention the quality of their writing and characterization took quite a dip to mend their relationship and make said last minute romance happen. The drama surrounding it was cheesed up to such a degree it felt like they were putting on a play and didn't tell anyone.
Nomura's turnaround makes perfect sense narratively speaking because she was a straight-forward, impersonal antagonist, who only began to sympathize with the enemy when they were forced into the same position and she had nothing left to lose. She probably gave Jim a few nightmares, but the Lakes don't have anywhere near the number of reasons to hate her as they should with Strickler.
Oh and on the topic of changelings, let's get to the Janus Order. In my honest opinion, I think the Order was an overall waste. What made the changelings fun to me was precisely how they jumped between playing human and the cruel brutality of their monstrous nature. They weren't really a blend of these two worlds, but rather just putting on an act.
That's what made examples like Strickler, Nomura, and NotEnrique emotionally toeing the line of what it means to be human so interesting. Because they aren't human, but have learned to love the world they live in. And it's also what would've made Jim's transformation so strange/special, because he actually would've embodied joining those worlds.
The Janus Order both visually and narratively throws a wrench into that for no reason. (And don't get me started on the whole "evil, politically powerful organization secretly controlling the world" deal..........)
The way I could actually see a point to that direction, is if it had been a relatively inconsequential side-plot where the Janus Order is more like a small-scale cult of humans or even low-grade sorcerers worshipping the Pale Lady. It could've been a one or two episode issue that would've mainly served to build up some lore & foreshadowing surrounding Morgana, before she would've made her big entrance in the third season.
Ah... and even Gunmar could've been handled much better in the later seasons. Bular isn't a perfect character, but he serves his purpose as the introductory villain fairly well and for a kids show like that, it's a sensible execution.
Gunmar's character started out very strong – as the presumed endboss, they combined Bular's intimidation factor and Strickler's conniving nature with him and added some class as a millennia old monster warlord. It works fantastically. While that image falls a little here and there, his portrayal in the Darklands still makes sense as someone who seemingly lost all hope and resigned himself to his eternal prison... and even then he displayed a malicious sort of patience by wanting to break Jim's spirit instead of simply killing him.
So for that to quickly turn into an impatient old man, who just barks out threats and orders and blindly follows whatever anyone tells him the moment he's on the surface... it, well, is pretty disappointing. It's understandable for Bular, the younger and less experienced son, to be rash and impatient, but a warlord? That's a position that requires a ton of patience and tactical prowess.
I really wish they would've kept the way he was presented in the first season and give us this big villain who's not only physically scary, but observational and dedicated enough to send Chompsky back with a message saying he'll kill all those Jim holds dear for killing his son and then listing literally everyone the kid knows.
Plus, his origin as some kind of actual monster born from a corrupted heartstone should've been explored! They could've gone into that endless hunger he apparently displays, that would've made him consume countless living creatures and even drain the magic energy out of crystals...
Instead we ended up with Bular 2 again, but even worse somehow, and it just made Gunmar about as threatening as a parked truck.
#sigh. there's more that could be said about some of the lesser antagonists like usurna & co. but most of those are fine for their roles tbh#trollhunters#tales of arcadia#toa merlin#toa morgana#angor rot#walter strickler#zelda nomura#gunmar#[spongebob stopping falling truck meme] these are just my personal thoughts!!!!! it's fine if you disagree!!!!!!!!!!!#entries

Alright here's the sun and moon signs for the P5 characters whose birthdays I could find. (Moon signs sometimes transition on the same day, so I picked the one that seemed most likely in that instance.)
*Mandatory disclaimer that I am not an astrologer nor do I wish to be, as I am not a believer in this sort of thing. I'm doing this for fun and because the information is there. As you do.
Ryuji Sakamoto (July 3rd, 1999): Cancer Sun, Aquarius Moon
A desire for independence and new experiences offsets the usual cautiousness of Cancer. Restless and rebellious, they can be viewed as arrogant or impatient, but also generous and protective of the underdog.
This works pretty well, other than that this combination is supposed to be a lot more in their head "deep thinkers", of which Ryuji... definitely is not lol
Ann Takamaki (November 12th, 1999): Scorpio Sun, Sagittarius Moon
Compassionate and idealistic, they often serve as guiding lights to others. Very warmhearted, humanitarian and a romantic at heart, yet also aloof at times and strong-willed, as they are determined to create their own path in life.
Yeah, this suits Ann well.
Yusuke Kitagawa (January 28th, 2000): Aquarius Sun, Scorpio Moon
A powerful and magnetic personality with a blend of both intense passion and intellectual detachment. They study human nature, see hidden potentials, and have an intense sense of individualism. While they try to repress petty feelings, they can easily carry around immense resentment and contempt if left unchecked.
Holy shit. That's Yusuke almost to a tee.
Makoto Niijima (March 23rd, 1998): Taurus Sun, Capricorn Moon
Calm and sympathetic, but with a tough and determined inner core. Prone to worry and anxiety, they may hold themselves back for fear of damaging their future with risks. They are loyal and witty, and are often good at giving advice. Have a lot of repressed anger.
Yep, that sounds like Makoto. There's some more info on how they tend towards humour and have some talent in creative outlets, which isn't so much her, but that's only after they conquer their fears. Maybe Makoto will ease up more over time.
Futaba Sakura (February 19th, 2001): Pisces Sun, Capricorn Moon
A blend of opposite traits; both a romantic and a realist, both sympathetic and pragmatic. While they don't tend to love taking on a lot of responsibility, they have an ambitious side to them that loves a good challenge. They tend to show their compassion by taking more practical measures to help people out.
Not bad for Futaba, honestly.
Haru Okumura (December 5th, 1998): Sagittarius Sun, Cancer Moon
Calm and assured, Cancer's caution offsets the Sagittarius urge to jump into things. They are receptive, open-minded, sincere, and have a competent air about them. They are intuitive and usually very good at sensing whether a person is trustworthy or not.
I still don't know Haru as well as the other characters, but this seems decent enough from what I've seen of her!
Kasumi Yoshizawa (March 25th, 2001): Aries Sun, Pisces Moon
Creative and self-expressive, but prone to insecurity and uncertainty. Often project an image of being bold, adventurous and decisive but can be held back by inner passivity and sensitivity. Tend towards a rich fantasy life and are very artistic.
I think it checks out for Kasumi!
Goro Akechi (June 2nd, 1998): Gemini Sun, Virgo Moon
Self-expression is extremely important to them, in writing, speech, and debate. Charming, analytical, and communicative, they love having an audience for their ideas, but they are also high-strung, set impossible standards, and can become hypercritical the more discontent they are.
Hm. I think that's actually not bad from what I've seen of him so far.
Sadly, Morgana has no birthday listed and I don't think I can make a good guess for him either. However, I will make a guess for Joker's birthday as being P5's release date because... well, just look at this.
Ren Amamiya / Akira Kurusu (September 15th, 1999): Virgo Sun, Scorpio Moon
Outwardly reserved with a cool demeanor, but inwardly intensely emotional, they are highly driven by instinct and passion even as they are guided by rationality. Gentle, dedicated and soft-spoken but also persistent, innovative and tough. Highly secretive with their feelings. Very perceptive.
Uh. Yeah. That's him.
#i just did this for the hell of it but these signs aren't actually bad matches for the characters tbh#well i mean that's just how a lot of astrology is lol. just general enough to be relatable haha#anyways please read this it took me awhile#storyrambles#persona 5#p5r#random thoughts

HI QUEEN!!!! thoughts on the vision morgause showed to arthur and her motivations/was she lying/ should Arthur have killed uther?
AHHHHHH IVE BEEN WANTED TO BE ASKED THIS AND I DIDNT EVEN KNOW IT
alright so i think the first thing that needs to be considered is what her intentions were when she showed him the vision. i think the main consensus is that she wanted Arthur to kill Uther, and while i agree, i think Morgause deserves a few more layers than that. i genuinely think Morgause wanted the truth to be known.
imo, from what we've seen, Morgause is extremely similar to Morgana. in the early seasons, Morgana is justice with kindness. Morgause is justice without. Later, we watch Morgause slowly "corrupt" Morgana and watch her lose her kindness, turning her into the heartless villain she is by season five.
i think Morgause, while not out of the deep goodness of her heart, saw the injustice, and wanted it to be corrected. this manifested mostly in the form of Uther's death, but i do believe a small part of her just wanted the truth to be known :)
whether or not she was lying is something we will never truly know, but she could have been lying about two different things, and i want to attack them separately.
i 100% believe she wasn't lying about Uther using magic for Arthur's birth. i've wondered A LOT how the fuck she knew though, because sorry, who told her?? and merlin is the show it is, so it doesn't tell you these things, but there are enough breadcrumbs left behind so that we can assume she was a pupil of Nimueh's and learned of it from her.
but whether it was actually a vision of Ygraine? i really don't know. i'm not going to lie, the first time i saw the scene, it gave me all the wrong vibes. the ghost of Ygraine is able to meet her son for >5 minutes and one of the maybe two things she says to him is about how Uther used magic to birth Arthur and it killed her?? i don't know. it's strange.
but we also have to remember that we actually don't know anything about Ygraine! honestly, the fandom and fics tend to mention her x10 more than the actual show does. Arthur hardly speaks of her, as well as Uther, and we have to remember that this is the man who essentially killed his wife and is forced to live with that every goddamn day and is 100% romanticizing the woman she was—and then all Arthur has ever heard of her is this romanticized version from his father, and this is the dead mother he's never met. he's going to do some embellishing of her own.
so, for all we know, Ygraine was a terrible person. we really don't know. so i have no conclusive answer to whether or not Morgause was lying about it being a vision, and i think the show actually intended it that way. because that doesn't actually matter. what Ygraine said—that's the truth. the cold, honest truth. whether it actually came from his mother or from a false mimicry of her doesn't actually matter.
another thing i find really interesting is that while Morgause was obviously trying to provoke Arthur with this information and was clearly manipulating him, she really didn't take any extreme steps to ensure he killed Uther. this was also her first step to bring down Uther. it's almost like she tried to find the most moral option she could that dealt the fairest form of justice, and only when it failed was she forced to resort to more gruesome, hands-on approaches.
it also really doesn't seem like she has anything against Arthur in the beginning, which is so fascinating to me, but moving on lol.
now for the BIG one:
should Arthur have killed Uther in The Sins of the Father?
god, this one is hard, because you have to consider it from all angles.
from an objective, justice-based standpoint, you could say that Morgause was absolutely in the right in all of this, and that after learning this information, it was Arthur's duty to kill his father. his father killed his own wife due to his desperation for an heir, and then spent half a lifetime destroying an entire culture and group of people in an attempt to stem his guilt.
so, yes. Arthur should have killed his father, if we're viewing this from the eyes of pure justice.
but for Arthur's own conscious? from a political standpoint? absolutely the fuck not. it would have destroyed Arthur. even when Uther died season four, he was a wreck, so imagine if it has been Arthur. dear god.
and then imagine being an average citizen of Camelot, for whom Uther was probably an alright to not great king, but no one who deserves death, and learning that your beloved Prince Arthur committed patricide and his now king? jesus. that's not how you establish good subject-monarch relations.
and if enemy kingdoms heard about it? god, all the knights must be horribly divided, because most of them swore themselves to Camelot and its royalty, but who the hell do you stand with when your two royals tried to kill each other and one of them was successful? enemy kingdoms would attack, and with their armies as divided as they'd be, who knows how that'd go.
so overall, no. i genuinely believe Arthur shouldn't have killed his father. but that doesn't mean that Uther didn't deserve death.
anyways, i think that's all! this was a lot of fun, and tysm for the ask once again <3

Chapter 19, Why is it Always You Three?, Is out now
I wrote part of it from Professor Weasley's POV because it was the funniest way to do the scene lol
"Come in. What brings you three here today?”
Isobel sat across from me, Ominis Ga- Sallow beside her and Sebastian Sallow leaning on the back of her chair. She began writing in the notebook she's been carrying for the past few months, grinning ear to ear as Sebastian read what she wrote to me with a matching cheshire grin.
“I've finally found a pair of adults to sign on as my legal guardians.” Oh no… “we've already filled out the paperwork and everything so you don't have to worry about where I'll be over the summer.”
Isobel passed the paperwork across my desk and as I'd suspected, her two best friends had both signed on as her guardians. I should have just filed the backup papers I signed myself.
“Miss Morgana, you can't-” I took a deep breath. “You can't just have your friends be your guardians.”
She started writing again, Sebastian still reading aloud. “Why not?- Yeah, I've got to agree with Isobel here, why can't we? If I'm old enough to be kicked out of my family home and get married, I'm old enough to be her guardian.”
I sighed and turned to this group's usual voice of reason “Mister Gau- Sallow? Ominis, do you have anything to say about this?”
He gave a small smile. “I signed the papers. I think that speaks to my thoughts on the matter.” I sighed and removed my glasses, rubbing the bridge of my nose.
“Do you have plans for where to live?”
“Isobel's house in Hogsmeade.”
“Of course… I should have predicted that. Do any of you have a source of income?”
“Iz has her shop and Ominis and I have paid internships with curse breaking and auror agencies. We're a perfectly suitable and stable married couple who are already living with her. We know about all her disability things and are learning to manage them as well. With this arrangement, it would be easy for her to continue running her business and since that's her future career plan, I think that would be in her best interest, don't you agree?”
This is truly insane. Completely ridiculous but… nonetheless, somehow, legal.
“I… will allow this under one condition. I'll be visiting to check on the three of you at least once a week for the duration of the summer. Can you agree to that?”
Isobel nodded, her smile and Sebastian's only growing.
“Then I suppose I have no good reason to reject this… Please stay out of trouble.” Eleazar must be laughing at me from beyond the veil.
The telltale scratching of Isobel writing answered me before she held up her book.

Tell me about your ocs 👀💞💞
Haaaaaaana 🥺💕
Met Morgana, my favorite oc btw. She is a nephelim, which means she is half angel, half demon, she tends more to her demonic side though. I use her most in obey me but curiously I have noticed some tendencies that she shares with my other ocs lol
I even wrote a fic for her, though I have yet to start writing the second chapter lol. She is Barbatos's (not blood related) younger sister, an albino, also a general that fought against the Celestial Realm and a shape shifter hehe
Morg had quite the complicated life even before she was born. Being a nephilim means being an unnatural being in the Celestial Realm's eyes. So they started hunting her and some other nephelims and cambions, to exterminate them, for them not to taint the humans. Ofc she survives bcs I love her too much to kill her, I made her back in the 2021 I think??? 2020??? Idk lol
Her father is also Lucifer's twin plus the first angel to be casted out of heaven. So she has a very big and chaotic family ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾
I also made an oc for twst but there's not enough lore to share. They don't even have a name yet lol but they are twisted from Emily, the corpse bride

the 'i don't think there's anything I won't forgive you' always stuck with me from your merthur fics but I was wondering (probs bc I like to torture myself lol) what exactly Arthur won't be able to forgive Merlin?
Oh i LOVE this question because I have such thoughts on this and never quite got around to putting them on paper, so to speak, for however much this makes an appearance in my writing!
Because the thing is, realistically, there are absolutely things Arthur wouldn't be able to forgive Merlin. That doesn't necessarily mean he's lying, though, not even that he's deluding himself.
What he's really saying is kind of. More than he's actually saying, which is so terribly Arthur I love it a ridiculous amount (and use it. a lot). What he's saying, really, is "I don't think there is anything that you would do to me that I won't be able to forgive." It's saying, yes you do things that may hurt me, things I may have to forgive you for, but I trust that you will always have a reason, one that, ultimately, I'll be able to understand.
Whether that's the magic, or lying about Ygraine, or Morgana, or Uther's death - all things, even if done out of love, that Arthur had to grapple with - eventually, he at least understands why Merlin did them. He understands that, no matter how misguided and/or how poor the execution, Merlin did them out of love.
So, no matter the pain and betrayed trust, Arthur trusts, still, that he'll be able to forgive it, because he trusts that Merlin loves him enough that he won't do something that Arthur couldn't forgive.
All that said, Merlin would probably have to start killing puppies or something to hit Arthur's limits (and also all the above is true vice versa they're stupidly codependent like that <3)
#answered asks#mona rambles#anonymous#bbcm#merthur#idk if this makes it better or worse but you're welcome? :D <3#mona's rambling#also omg THANK YOU I'm so happy to hear this stuck with you <3

How did Launchpad handle the guilt of accidentally leading Negaduck to discover Darkwing’s identity? Plus how was Drake dealing with the guilt of inadvertently causing the Duckthulu incident and Morgana’s disappearance?
For Launchpad? Not well. He was incredibly depressed. I think he might of gone back to work for Scrooge to try and keep his mind off of them. The kids reminded him a lot of Gosalyn. Fenton was there for him to be a shoulder to cry on. Despite everything and his mental state being with his old family was enough to keep him going, even if barely. He never stopped thinking about Drake and Gosalyn and hoped that they were safe.
As for Drake honestly he felt a lot more guilty about Morgana's disappearance than everything else with Duchthulhu. It's actually pretty much covered in the original comic. Drake was depressed and desperately trying to find her, but then Gosalyn reminded him that this isn't what Morg wanted. That she wanted him to be strong no matter what. Of course he still doesn't stop searching for her. And while unfortunately the comic was cancelled before he could find her (since Dangerous Currency seems to be wiped since The Definitively Dangerous Edition came out), I do think he does find her again eventually, though romantically he's moved on. I don't know how long exactly that would of taken, but I imagine long enough to get married to Launchpad. (Can you tell we've entered back into headcanon territory now? lol)

Hi admin!! I just noticed smth in Cattle's All Out Attack finisher.
It kinda seems like there's something similar to a clock behind the text? I kinda see something like clock hands / arrows in this. I'm not sure if I'm seeing it wrong though. But do you think this has any possible connections to his lore...? Also the text is on top of something that looks like a passing train lol
Haha, I remember there was a whole conversation about what the clock thing could mean back during the second beta test! But I'm glad you sent that in, because it's definitely due for more discussion now that we have more information. I never noticed that the text looks like it's on a train, but I think you're absolutely correct.
In the full version, the front and back ends totally look like a train!
Previously I had brought up the function that lets you go back to the "cognitive imprint" of a Palace after the real Palace is destroyed, and with the text looking like it's on a train, that makes me even more suspicious.
Because, in the Palace return function, you literally take a train to the imprint of that Palace! Combined with the kind of gear-like look of the circles behind him (goggles?), and like you said, the resemblance to clock hands in the middle... I don't think that solves every mystery of his AOA finisher, but I think all those details are meant to point us to this function.
Of course, that still doesn't really explain why he references this, but... well, time travel's already been suggested (in the game itself, even!) for Wonder, and Cattle's the only other character who gets weird visions/memories. In his case, we even know it's tied to the Metaverse and his amnesia. Maybe the Palace return function has something to do with him and why he lost his memories? It could even be a clue that he traveled back in time using the Metaverse, or something like that. We know this universe's version of the Metaverse is heavily influenced by desires, to the point that Wind could desire to fight on the front lines strongly enough to literally change herself and her Persona's form temporarily, so maybe he had a strong desire to go back in time?
Actually, this has me thinking about all the visions/dreams we've seen so far. We've seen Wonder, Joker, Motoha, Shun, Riko, and even Polter in them... but never Ruferu, even in his own nightmare at the start of the P5R collab, which seemed like it might be another vision. Maybe he was created and sent back in time out of their desire to have someone to help them get things right, to parallel Morgana being made out of humanity's hope? Or, if he is actually tied to the antagonists, maybe he was created for this timeline specifically, or perhaps whatever is giving Wonder these visions has been hiding Ruferu's presence in them?
All that to say, I'm not sure what all this is supposed to mean exactly, but I at least have some loose ideas, haha. But I definitely think at least some of the imagery in his AOA finisher is referencing that function for returning to previous Palaces, for whatever reason.

I see sentiments like ‘Morgana always had ruthlessness in her heart’ flying around here all the time, and I’m just not buying it! I didn’t buy it age 10 and I’m still not buying it now! Morgana had no ruthlessness in her at all to start - she was remarkably empathetic for a sheltered princess - and when the moment of truth came for her in S1 she showed Uther mercy instead. *Merlin* in his dealings with Nimueh was significantly more ruthless than Morgana was to start! The show needed to fully commit either to a) the idea that despite appearances she was always capable of indifference to suffering or b) that she was an innocent that Merlin, Uther and even Arthur bore ultimate responsibility for radicalising. The writers didn’t do a) because they didn’t have five series character arcs mapped out from the start and they obviously signposted b) but ultimately didn’t follow that thread through to natural conclusion because it casts doubt on Merlin’s hero status to start questioning why he enabled Uther’s and Arthur’s discriminatory policies to continue for so long, and makes his defeat of her pretty fuckin ugly rather than just tragic. So Morgana had to turn into an unambiguous comic book cackling villain because the more nuanced direction would’ve made for some pretty uncomfortable political discourse for a teatime BBC show lol. Like, Uther got more sympathetic treatment from the show in downfall and death than she did. And it’s pretty revisionist not to remember that fandom at the time was so irritated by the speed of Morgana’s heel turn, precisely because she did have to get a personality transplant and a wardrobe overhaul to make it work because there were no indications of any real ruthlessness in her in S1. Idk I’m just never gonna buy it.
i think you're referencing this post that i reblogged, and actually yeah you're totally right and i clearly wasn't paying enough attention to the sentence "while morgana starts out as very potentially different from uther even though there is already ruthlessness in her heart, and then develops to grow more and more like him" because i don't agree she was already ruthless either. she cared about everyone, even uther.
morgana turning evil was fast, however she was headed that way by the end of series 2 it didn't just come out of nowhere. morgause contributed to her radicalisation, she was there making morgana feel better and listened to and uther was becoming someone she completely despised. merlin and gaius were also very much to blame though. it's a shame there were never any flashbacks to the year morgana was away but you just have to assume morgause spent that time turning morgana against everyone.
you're not wrong but there's only so much development and digging deep into morgana's mindset they could do, it was essentially a kids teatime drama lol, especially when you don't want to turn merlin into the villain.

have you done a “how I would fix that movie” meta post? I’m also interested in your stricklake manifesto or something about guillermo del toro’s horror sensibilities and toa
send me a meta prompt (currently closed); thank you for the ask!
how did you know exactly what prompted this lol
stricklake manifesto is...tentatively forthcoming. possibly. probably. stay tuned. while i know i've certainly thought about how i'd fix the movie (and not even purely for niche side blorbo reasons), but i'm not sure how compelling (or coherent) that end product actually is. 🤔
unfortunately my fixit of the movie starts roughly thirty seconds after bellroc vaporizes that poor pigeon in chicago (or wherever metrocity is) and diverges wildly from there. tldr: someone on team trollhunter remembers they're in a gdt show, and asks just why are they all blindly following merlin, anyway. is it barb? god, i want it to be barb. obviously blinky is like "because he's the esteemèd merlin ambrosius, duh" while all three changelings just look directly into the camera. merlin blusters. barb backs off.
then, once merlin wanders out of earshot, she asks again.
i do think that would be probably the biggest single change. i'm very self-conscious when i sit down in my lil sandbox that i don't want to give barb another job; she has enough already, and she gets mommed by the fandom in a way i don't always think is malicious but which nevertheless generally rubs me wrong. but truly: who else is doing it like her? okay, sure, there's jim: until the last four episodes of trollhunters, his actual, textual superpower is his humanity. he then gets browbeaten into discarding it—the quality that has, until now, been his unique and cited qualification—because the guy who made an amulet out of his student's severed hand acted like he had some kind of moral high ground.
barb, meanwhile, is also an extraordinarily human human. she's the normie! she's the clueless mundane, a single mother dragged into the supernatural by her only son. and while she does freak out—rightly! understandably!—when the supernatural puts her and her loved ones in danger, she never speaks against it just for being different. obviously stricklander is the example i've thought about most here: she's mad when he comes back (again, rightly), but her objections are because you lied to and endangered and my son, not because you're a dirty changeling. she's mad (and hurt) when jim lies about fighting off goblins, but because she's scared for him! once the masquerade is broken, she's immediately on his side. she's also the only character to even try to make merlin answer for trollifying jim, even if it's presented humorously. best girl.
so. back to this theoretical fixit: i think barb would be the most natural choice to start the questioning, here. blinky would still push back a little, but with merlin elsewhere, nomura and stricklander don't have to worry about being nice; maybe aaarrrgghh would even chime in on their side (what exactly do the gumm-gumms think of emrys, anyway?). it's not an easy conversation. it's also not the last one. but it starts. for a series that is otherwise unusually arthurian, arthur in trollhunters is conspicuous by his absence. but you have merlin. you have morgana. you also—pace wizards' giant slimy monster, who was cute, but completely overlooked preexisting developments—have the lady of the goddamn lake: legendary enchantress, giver of excalibur, single mother of the best of knights.
and, most importantly, the one who seals merlin in a fucking tree.
u see where i'm going with this.
once barb starts that question—well. i make no claims that this is recognizable, but you did ask how i would do it, lol. from this i can't help but feel it would cascade pretty dramatically. if stricklander and nomura united behind her, i think jim would follow. claire and toby after him. once the humans (and adjacent) are convinced, i don't think blinky could hold out any longer; maybe the smarter version of him other people keep seeing could be brought around to some kind of "trust, but verify." soft and stupid as i am about wretched wizard blorbos, obviously the order are still being assholes. we don't want them to actually burn it all down. but is that what they're actually trying to do? or is this just another received merlinian dictum?
god—and if they got to talk to nari about it! once again, one of the biggest failures of wizards (and rott) was how utterly it sidelined its characters in favor of punchy punchy bang bang. this i know have written about somewhere: jim's reduction to a vicarious highschool bully fantasy, how bellroc was flattened into cartoonish, beautifully rendered cardboard-cutout evil, while somehow still staying the most consistent character in the room. stricklander—whose entire character arc in trollhunters was built on 1.) the infinite possibility of an individual for change and 2.) being the smartest bastard in the room—took the first step into his new life by marrying barb and then immediately paid for it with the stupidest death possible. (see a longer and much keener essay about this here, from @millennialmoviereviews.) i cannot overemphasize how frustrated i am—still, yes, i know, about a children's cartoon—about how that movie treated its characters, even ones (the tarrons! douxie! steve!) i don't normally have any investment in.
...but what if that changed? what if we took what used to be the gdt hallmark—sympathy for monsters, without excuse—and committed to the goddamn bit? jim reached out to bular back in trollhunters. yes, what you're doing is wrong; you're hurting people i mean to protect; but i understand you're hurting too, and why, and how we might not be so different. you don't have to do this.
then barb sends merlin to treeby deeby, and bellroc and skrael fucking kiss.
(and then go about actually protecting/repairing the balance of the world or whatever, but i know what i'm about.)
postscript. i admit i pick a lot on merlin. don't get it twisted: i think my own evil wizard blorbos were also complete dumbasses here. but i think part of the reason i am so invested in merlin experiencing a goddamn consequence is pretty closely related to the original reason i was so drawn to gdt's stuff in the first place, namely: decoupling "good" and "evil" from "normal" and "monster," respectively. i don't think this is too much to expect of a kids show, especially one for toa's age group. trollhunters does a great job of doing this—of allowing nuance, of showing how it's possible to think outside the frameworks you know, while still remaining accessible to children—and 3below kind of? tries to keep it up. i think. but wizards...doesn't. even for all it does (inadvertently or otherwise) end up pointing out how merlin and arthur, founts of the same authority, massively screwed up. i've also had many people point out that wizards was pretty much set up to fail: executive meddling, rushed production, etc. etc. which i do sympathize with.
but it's still. tremendously bitter. to see six seasons' worth of such a unique message get discarded so easily. especially when this was done with such breathtakingly little love for the material.
#tales of arcadia#trollhunters meta#trollhunters#rise of the titans#barbara lake#first meta prompt out!! old man yells at cloud etc.#i worry this is not a terribly well-developed fixit manifesto but tldr: barb should've gotten to learn magic and dethrone god#also jim has done his child soldiering. he's paid his dues to the genre. he can go to therapy now#also also i want five seasons and a movie of arcane order domestication but u know how it is#mine#q&a#ask games

Merlin ask game: 8, 24, 34 :)
8. One off character you wish had a bigger part.
This is a hard one since I feel that way about most of the side characters but if I really have to choose and canon doesn't have a play in it?
Will.
Because for the longest time, Will was Merlin's first, only, and bestfriend.
He was there before Gwen. Before Arthur. Before Lancelot. And before Gwaine.
And unlike Arthur, Gwen, and Gwaine (at first anyway) he knew that Merlin had magic for YEARS before Merlin was forced to go to Camelot. I think it was implied they were children when he found out and yet, he never said a word. Even when they were in a time where he was probably made to think magic users were monsters.
He accepted Merlin as he was and didn't like that he had to hide, much like Lancelot. He died for Merlin like Lancelot did (and like Gwen, Arthur, and Gwaine would have). He was stubborn like Arthur. Mischievous like Gwaine. And was a ride or die like Gwen was.
He was just a big mixture of all of the people, people call Merlin's best friends. He was so important and played such a big part in Merlin's life.
Yet after his death, from what I remember, we don't hear about him again. Not in Merlin's childhood stories. Not in flashbacks. Nothing.
And I know it's probably because Arthur, Gwen, Morgana, and Leon (I can't remember if he was there but I have no doubt man knew) thought Will was a sorcerer.
That Will was never talked about because no one wanted to risk Uther finding out at first and later on, because they thought Merlin had healed from it.
But it just feels so WEIRD to me. Weird and wrong. Because how is it that we know so little about Merlin's first best friend? His first ride-or-die brother in arms!
So. Just Will. I wish we could have seen more of the effect he and his death had on Merlin. Both in the fandom and in canon.
24. Everyone knows that fandom doesn’t like Uther but what are your feelings about Gaius?
Oh boy.
So I created this question solely because while I love Giaus he frustrates me at times.
Not as badly as Uther or Kilgharrah does, mind you. But enough that it tanks how I feel about him a considerable amount.
So, I love him but he's an idiot at times (like several people in this show) and I just wish he would have used an excuse other than the Tavern lol.
34. Myth you wished had been adapted in Merlin?
Soooo many.
But like, in the myths, Lancelot was raised by the lady of the lake. So while that obviously couldn't work, I just think it would have been interesting had they replaced the lady of the lake with another magical creature/person instead as both a nod to the myths and a bit of lore.
Hope that makes sense.
Also the whole 'people kept faking Gwaine's death' thing someone pointed out on here once probably would have been a fun plotline.
Thanks for the ask!

Persona 4 (ish) atsv AU. Dw, I don't spoil any plot for either p4 or p5.
We don't use the murder mystery plot, but we keep the whole shadow thing.
First photo is an explanation of shadow selves as a whole and then 2nd is their use in p4.
I haven't quite cooked it through yet but imagine Miguel having to fight his inner demons in a big ass boss battle. There's always a lot of symbolism in it, and I think Miguel's would have a cage aspect like Yukiko did due to isolation being his main go-to for self harm.
Side note I'm sorry about Teddie's dialogue. If it provides any relief, the fandom bullies him constantly.
Alternatively, Persona 5 ATSV.
Miles - Ren Amamiya/Joker (Rejected by the society around them AND constantly defies expectations)
No idea!! - Ann Takamaki/Panther
Lyla - Morgana/Mona (Not rooted in story ties to the respective characters) (Alternatively, Peter Porker by just how goofy both are)
Idk lol - Makoto Nijima (Makoto best romance 🔥🔥🔥)
Gwen - Kasumi Yoshizawa (do NOT Google this character it will spoil Persona 5 Royal IMMEDIATELY. I will include a photo of this character at the end so that you can see her.)
Pavitr - Haru Okumura/Noir (Little bit naive but wants to do good in the world)
Hobie - Ryuji Sakamoto/Skull (Not a lot of connection but both rebel against social norms.)
Margo - Futaba Sakura/Oracle (DUUUUUUUDE THIS FITS IN BOTH FAMILIAL ISSUES AND TECH SMARTS) (alternatively, Peni works as well and she has the Dead Mom trauma too.) (I am not normal about Futaba I get genuinely angry about her storyline.)
Miguel - SOJIRO SAKURA!!! Mature, quiet, a hard-ass but genuinely very kind and loving beneath it all.
Spot - I fuckinG WISH I COULD SAY WHICH CHARACTER BUT IT SPOILS >:( just know he has a very clear character in this.
Ben Reilly - Yusuke Kitagawa (Dramatic af /pos) (Alternatively, Peter B. due to the brokeness of both.)
Aunt May - Munehisa Iwai or Tae Takemi (both help the protagonist in supplies)
As promised, here's Kasumi. She is a gymnast with deep seated family and identity issues that don't get explored until what is technically the "post game". She is worth the wait.
I’ve heard of persona but I’ve never played it or seen any gameplay (until now with the link u sent lolol) and honestly this fits so well!! There was a whole part in spiderman 2 about miles confronting mister negative and fighting him to try and escape kraven, and mister negative sends him to this alternate dimension and sends these shadows to fight him which represent his inner demons while his loved ones (or what sounds like them) call him not good enough and a mistake, and Miles’s biggest fear is for his loved ones to hate him and for him to disappoint them. This fits in extremely well for him especially now with that in mind. Also Miguel having to fight his inner demons is a huge boss battle is something I WANNA SEE!!!

Hello Hello! Welcome to my blog/writing dump ₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎
I used to write in my free time and missed being part of a community so I decided to start a new blog since I'm interested in League of Legends. I will mostly write character x reader scenarios, headcanons and maybe some longer stories. I will treat darker themes in this blog so please proceed with caution if you're sensitive to the subjects I tag in my posts.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:· About the admin
Mi, 20+, She/her, EU
Katana dilf enthusiast! Favorites: older Ubisoft games, Metal Gear Solid, Mother Mother, Wowaka, PinocchioP, Angelic Pretty. Champs: Yone, Sona, Thresh, Morgana, Neeko.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:· Lore knowledge, what I'd like to write
I like to think that i have a decent grasp on LoL's lore and the lore of skinlines skinlines so here's some characters I currently would like to write for. If your character doesn't appear in this list it doesn't mean that I won't write them, so don't be shy and send an ask if you'd wish. Aatrox, Ahri, Aphelios, Diana, Evelynn, Jhin, Kai'Sa, Kayn, Morgana, Leona, Rakan, Renata Glasc, Seraphine, Sett, Shen, Sona, Swain, Thresh, Vayne, Viego, Xayah, Yasuo, Yone, Zed.
I figured I'd add some skinlines too.
Pentakill universe, Nightbringer/Dawnbringer, Spirit Blossom, K/DA, High Noon, Pool party/Ocean song, Project, Cosmic/Dark cosmic. ·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:· Rules for requesting and content warnings
If you'd like to request, please keep in mind that it may take time for them to get written out or I might never write them at all. I'd rather concentrate on less request but keep the quality high than to give everyone sloppy, disappointing writing! If you don't specify the gender of the reader (especially with NSFW requests) I will keep my terminology as gender neutral as possible.
I will list some of the things that may appear in my content:
Fluff/Platonic/Smut
Yandere
Violence (not explicitly described)
Discrimination (in fantasy setting, never protrayed positively) I will also list my bounduaries on things i will not write in any setting: CSA, or anything to do with the canonical minors Extreme fetishes, consensual non consent Homophobia, racism, dictatorship in a positive light
I hope that this post has been comprehensive enough, soon I will post something that is more interesting than rules! See you all then ^^
