I genuinely need a hug after the completely unnecessary panic I just went through cause I thought I couldn't upload my art here anymore 😭

#ok this is literally so stupid so I'm just gonna put it in the tags #I have a vpn on my computer and not my phone #and I'm used to uploading pictures by putting it in a draft or emailing it to myself #but tumblr is blocked and so is gmail (and google stuff in general)#so I tried making a yahoo email #but it wouldn't accept my phone number bc it's not local #then I tried multiple school emails that don't use google #outlook said fuck you and didn't accept them #tried messaging my brother about the vpn but my messages don't send here #tried using wechat but I got logged out and I don't remember my password #tried slack but that was stupid for like 500 reasons #tried bandapp but it uses a google login or a phone number #also don't remember my password on there #ok I swear I keep track of passwords now I made these accs at a different time #thought about resorting to my laptop's camera but realized I wasn't that desperate yet #was gonna use my mom's phone but her phone number isn't fixed yet either #apparently discord works? but I can't message myself and I don't have a single friend on there that I would send hazbin images to #a literal hour later #I realize. I realize my phone can transfer images directly to my computer. because i'm a fucking idiot.#anyway everything's fine now #I'm gonna go lie down and cry #velvet rambles

i NEED to get back into writing but it's so hard and im being so brave about it😭

my laptop broke down and so did all my autocad files i had there. im gonna kill myself

#i don't have enough time to redo anything #yesterday night i wanted to open ky laptop to compress the final file for printing and finish another project to also compress it #and that's when i noticed that my laptop broke down #literally at the finish line #whole semester of working so damn hard to have everything perfect and on time #and now i have to fail those two subjects because i can't submit the project #and i don't have a spare laptop with that program to redo it #though even if i did there's not enough time #my friends of course won't help because they have their own things #no one remembers the file for soil mechanics that i spend tons of hours doing but they just swapped the data and had the project complete i #half an hour. no one remembers and no one cares. and i didn't even get a single thank you #now im left without a computer to work on and without anyone who can help me #really loving it here #it's always moments like this that remind me that my friends don't give a shit about me like at all #i don't even have anyone i can hug to feel better

So I may or may not have spent a good chunk of my day trying to learn how to look into onis code and while I may not have yet succeeded I will likely keep fucking around with shit tomorrow and if I manage to succeed it'll spell great doom for my sanity as oni becomes the interest I've officially poured the most effort into analyzing

An incomplete list of things that I, someone with literally at least a thousand hours in New Vegas and not much direct experience of any other Fallout games, am still adjusting to in Fallout 76 despite having over a hundred hours under my belt now:

* Lack of a local map

* VATS not freezing enemies outright

* Not being able to open my Pip-Boy and eat a feast uninterrupted in the middle of combat

* For that matter, raw food and dirty water not healing HP (still always forget this and waste raw meat trying to heal)

* Being able to fast travel when enemies are nearby, as long as they don’t hit you within a set window of time

* Sprinting! I still bunnyhop constantly to move faster as an old NV habit lol

* The radar of nearby locations (re: this and the above point- I have also played plenty of Skyrim, which has these features, but I never got used to them there either somehow)

* Losing junk items upon death

* The crafting/building system in general

* Inability to wait/sleep to pass time

* The ability to respawn somewhere other than where I last died

* Stimpaks and the likes having weight. Slowly learning the hard way that hauling around 100 Radaways is a Problem for Trin

* NPCs not turning around to face me upon opening dialogue

* Not getting every enemy’s clothing as part of their lootable inventory >:(

#I'm sure there are bigger differences I'm forgetting #fallout 76 #nv is my brain's blueprint for not just a fallout or bethesda game #but for a viddy game full stop #sank a *lot* of my life into that game and I don't regret it #the inspiration for this post was that I'm considering starting yet another playthrough #my 76ing ability is severely limited by my dead graphics card and I'm starting to run out of quests with Trin frankly #remember when I said it was fine without my graphics card? it is not fine #the game itself works completely normally except for shadows #but my poor laptop almost blasts off the second I boot up 76 #I can barely get 10 minutes in at a time :(#but somehow I think nv might be easier on the graphics department lol #also! Still never completed old world blues or played more than ten minutes of lonesome road #there is content for me to discover yet!#long tags #anyways this could serve as almost a culture shock list (lol) for anyone planning on switching across from either game to the other

I wanna say Garry's mod is what got me really into 3D games design and such but no that's not true. I used to make whole ass universes with branching stories i can no longer conceive in Spore galactic edition.

#i used to spend hours and hours on it #but i was still very young and it was my parents computer #by the time i got my own computer i wasn't very interested in it anymore and moved on to other games #but i remember my lil elementary school self sitting at the MacBook looking like a frustrated office man trying to build these worlds #it was one of the few times my mom took note of my interests and talents and helped me get into summer college courses in highschool #because she remembered how passionate i was about building these worlds amd stories and how i would ramble about how excited i was #when i made something work #i think i still have my spore poster i tacked onto the ceiling when i had a bunkbed somewhere #i know its an outdated game at this point and a lot of people laugh at it but it was probably my first major interest #i had the really cool box edition with the art book and everything haha too bad the disk doesn't work anymore #not that my laptop has a cd port lol #anyways just a ramble because i was thinking about it #i have the game on steam but i don't have the galactic edition so i haven't booted it up in a while

#or is it two #I don't quite remember #I just know I've done this at least once before #i spent most of today trying to get my laptop as it is at the moment to back up onto my external drive #which was not working #so now i'm just leaving with the documents folder and throwing everything else to the wind #before bringing back what I want to keep *in stages* and *not all at once so I end up with the exact same problem*#i did manage to free up *some* storage compared to before it's just that i need to reset it because it's refusing to update properly #so. here we go I suppose #a call from the void #posts made by me
