Genshin Sagau (?) Isekai Brainrot - Language
I've seen like ONE small kinda related Genshin Sagau/isekai idea for this but I wanted more of it so BAD
It’s not the most interesting thing in the world, it’s about our modern vernacular vs. Teyvat's flowery speech
Pls feel free to expand on or add to this pLEASE TAG ME IF U DO IM STARVING OUT HERE :)))
So I saw someone write like one sentence abt this (can’t remember who :( sorry I’ll update if I find them ) or like a brutally honest version??
But I also took inspo from how fucking wordy and long conversations that are in Genshin, even with ppl like Xiao (the rude boy that he is) or even Tighnari who gets to the point pretty quickly
It goes smth like:
So, all of Teyvet, (esp ppl like Zhongli 💀 u know the ones) talk,, flowery.
Like, the whole Pride and Prejudice style speaking, euphemisms, metaphors, for some characters (or Npcs) its full on POETRY.
Lookin’ at you Kazuha.
.
And going off of any variation of you being the Creator, (or otherwise an older mythical being?), they could have this thing where the older a deity/mythical thingy is, the simpler the speech.
Kinda makes sense to them y’know? The older beings are serious, commanding, intimidating
And nothing says "I'm ancient as fuck and powerful as fuck" like simple blunt speech.
And being closer to the literal creation of the world, language would understandably be less complex (I’m assuming it’s the same as in human cultures in our world's history)
Like literally look at our fantasy typical stories, plenty of them have a dragon or ancient god that speaks in extremes, like so flowery its a metaphor, or so bluntly its startling (ie, "Be not afraid." "I am all powerful." etc etc)
And so, ancient powerful being = direct/blunt speech
..
…
...Y'know,, almost like our modern vernacular.
Like, part of some of our modern day comedy is purely based on a sentence being delivered bluntly for impact
Hell our ads and videos and content in general we always want to get to the point, to say things simply
So with this in mind, even if you try to deny being the Creator, they might still think you are, or at least a more minor ancient deity/creature
.
(like the Seven Sovereigns/Phanes/Shades/etc. for example would sound eerily modern or at least easy for you to understand bc of this trait lol)
(Also I'm just assuming u know Genshin lore enough to know what I meant by that ^)
____
So, I love the AU where you just,, hitch a ride with the traveler like Paimon bc u start at the "beginning of the game",
And with every person you meet, you're like, "Ok, no, I promise this is just how my country/world speaks, it's not like that, I'm not some ancient deity…"
And They're all like 🤨🤨🤨 "Well, fine traveler and companions, why does your speech sound so simplistic and sharp? Surely, you do not expect me to truly believe you.."
You: "Please I just talk like this, I'm a regular human."
Them: "Alright, if it is as you say,, you wish to not experience being "known" yes? Fear not, I will keep your secrets close to my chest."
You: "No, for the last time, that's not-"
.
And it just keeps happening, lol
.
(srry I tried my best at emulate Genshin language + flowery speech idk how to do it)
.
Like maybe you would just sound weird or like a foreigner speaking y’know in simpler sentences bc they don't know the language as well as native speakers, at least that could be how you sound to NPCs and ppl who don’t know abt simpler speech meaning
.
...But the Adepti? Zhongli?? Barbatos maybe??? Even the Aranara??? Those who are old enough to maybe have heard how older beings speak or at least have knowledge of how they should speak/sound??
You couldn’t have predicted how shocked their faces were the second you opened you’re mouth…
Sumeru scholars would freak tf out i stg, as soon as you meet Haypasia, she's already losing it, first the Irminsul progress, now this ancient being/Creator?? Girlie thinks its a sign lmao
.
(I’m an Aether lover, and also bc I think Lumine looks badass as Abyss ruler, so I’m gonna go with Aether for traveler sorry Lumine mains love yall T-T)
.
You, and Aether being equally confused at first pLEASE 😭
lets say he speaks a little more fluffy than you at least, after all I’m assuming bc of the outfit that he’s from a fantasy-like place, and his replies can be a little fluffy like Teyvat’s residents, so he kinda fits in, kinda like everybody assumes he's just from another country when he gets to a new nation (at least that’s what I think happens??)
.
Like after (maybe Diluc?) Lisa, Kaeya, Venti, and Jean (who I think would all be knowledgeable, thru diff means, about this enough to maybe recognize the simpler speech = ancient god thing)
ALL reacted shocked as hell at hearing you talk, and would probably explain (or Paimon before then?) in that infuriatingly roundabout way, that you would usually skip a couple dialogue boxes just to avoid bc yOU ALREADY GOT THE POINT or alternatively WHATS THE POINT HERE?? JUST SAY IT, WHATS THE COMMISSION/QUEST FOR/WHAT DO I DO??
(Those blue highlights be savin my impatient life, and i actually like lore stuff 💀)
.
Oh that’s also another frustration. For you.
.
It would drive me crazy if I had to wait like,, 2-3 minutes for ppl to explain what they ate for dinner or sm shit
Like, now imagine that’s everyone, about everything.
You don’t know how anything gets done in battles or wars, like you need faster communication for that right??💀
.
Anyway, you, Aether and Paimon decide you just gotta not talk when you first meet people or like,, make sure you're gonna be around that person for a while so you don’t have to possibly get someone over the shock of your speech every time you guys talk to people 😭 that'd be so miserable I can already tell,,
Like at first, every convo ya’ll have had with people who recognize that direct speech trait as a thing, would take at least 10 minutes to finish talking about it/being shocked,,
It got so old so fast.
.
(Like I already can’t communicate that good with ppl irl bc I misunderstand them, or they do me, or they just dont get what I mean, and as my friends put it, which I think would fit here for any language shenanigans we go thru in Teyvat, "A Shakespearean level of misunderstanding, hilarious but such a downward spiral to watch, it just gets more and more ridiculous as it goes on...")
.
On another note, making fun of someone would be so fucking funny,
I’d like to give myself the benefit of the doubt that many characters, after getting used to your speech, would generally understand you (even if they always notice it, like an accent) and would actually rlly love hearing insults or even just generally how you would put things
(like maybe treating this almost like those vids of ppl with non-native english speaknig relatives/parents and its the most hilarious thing to watch them, usually get pissed 😭, at their kid, if u dont know what I mean look up on tiktok or smth)
And You just come off like those insults where you dont even use cuss words, you just like, drag queen read them into never showing their face again, and you did it in so few words!!
They're amazed and oh,
you've become the John Mulaney of Teyvat
(Bad examples include:
Fontaine inventor: "...And I shall call my invention, crocks!"
You: "I wouldn't even be cremated in those." )
*Aether crying laughing in the background bc he never knows what you’re gonna say next, and Paimon's jaw dropped so hard
JFC this post is so long sorry, I probably will spam with a Part 2 but let me know if you’re interested in hearing more anyway!!
Thanks for reading this rambling!!
Or send in asks abt this 👀
Cheers,
🌒🌊🌧Aquarius♒️🌌🌘

Alright, here's my first edition of the Natlan bingo! Currently, I have done act 1 and 2, the first 2 parts of every tribal chronicle (+ pt 3 of the Ppl of the Springs), unlocked the whole map, and done part of the world quest with the baby geo dragon. If I find anything else during 5.0, I'm just going to wait to show it in the 5.1 edition.
Explanations for each part I've highlighted, and some other notes, below:
"The 'dark skinned' playable character(s) are light tan at darkest"- yeahhh, does this one need an explanation? Iansan is slightly darker than what I would call light tan, but only slightly, and a single character being VERY light brown with a gray tint, while the rest are pale or creamy white, isn't enough to count.
"There are more tribes and it's not handled well (again)"- the People of the Springs are running a fucking tourist resort for literally no reason except that they're based on Hawaiian stereotypes. There are FIFTEEN human enemies who are tribes people, who have no reason to attack you but do anyways. Seeing as Xilonen and Kachina (who have names from different cultures) are in the same tribe, they're not even dedicating all of the tribes to one culture each.
"Another human enemy faction of all darker skinned people"- as I said, there are fucking 15 of them. And that's only 5 per tribe currently released. The other tribes should get the same treatment, so that's a minimum of 15 more poc enemies.
Other notes:
-yes, Paimon was undeniably racist in Mualani's story quest the People of the Springs quest (here), but I haven't found Traveler being directly racist, so I'm not crossing that off yet. Though, I definitely think they're going to act shitty eventually, and that it won't take long.
-not *all* darker skinned npc's are antagonistic and whatnot. But noticeably, the People of the Spring's quest has already shown off quite a few stereotypical Bad Guys of Colour. I would also point out that while the tribe leaders are treated normally, they were originally much lighter than they are now, having possibly been darkened bc of the boycott. A lot of this stuff was probably written before that change was made. In general, I don't need literally ALL of the poc npc's to act like this to cross it off, just most of them. And I'm not counting these 3.
-I'm going to treat the tribal chronicles as story quests. I mean, the full People of the Spring's quest was basically Mualani's story quest but with a prologue. Anyways, Mualani's was definitely bad, but I'm actually really interested in Kinich's? I'm so glad that Enjou is back, and Ajaw is already my favorite Natlan character despite his design. I've decided that if Kinich's is good but the rest suck, I'm still going to count that as Natlan's story quests being bad. To be fair, there can only be one exception.
-looking back, I can't believe that I never put 'Iansan is a 4 star' or 'the non-pale characters have shitty kits' on the bingo. I mean, those ones are super obvious, right?

do u have any advice for those that want to run a quest?
it feels a LEETLE silly answering this when all my own are currently on hiatus bc i got busy (SORRY TO CALLIST0 READERS LOL) BUT!!! yes i do. i have only ever run quests/interactive comics on the site questden, so i guess as a baseline this will kind of all be geared towards that, but i think most of this should translate to any hosting situation
you have to be cool with your plots branching and mutating in unexpected ways, and you have to be willing to play ball with your readers. quests are a collaboration between the author and the audience. it often feels a lot like gming a tabletop campaign (and that's the origin!! questden, specifically, was originally an offshoot of /tg/.) -- we've all had or heard about bad GMs who view their position as that of a narrative dictator who exists to punish and prod a captive group of players thru their own personal novel, but a good GM is interested in telling stories as a group. u have final say and have to stay true to the important stuff abt ur story, but if u get mad or frustrated when ur readers want to explore something "off topic" or aren't following the threads of ur narrative the way u expected them to, u don't actually want to run a quest, u just want to make a webcomic w mandatory comments. (the flip side of this is: consider if the story u want to make is the right one for an interactive quest. if it is REALLY important to u that the plot beats of a story go a certain way, maybe save it for a medium where u have more control!)
keep it loose and fast. the art does not matter. i am rly guilty of not following this one, but i still think it's really important! one of the things i like best about quests is the barrier to entry is very low and you SHOULD be able to start and maintain one very quickly. if i were better at keeping my art scrabbly and sketchy and loose, my stuff would not go on hiatus as often as it does. draw fast! it's NICE if the art is gorgeous to look at and definitely will draw readers, but it's way better if the art is simple enough that you can update frequently and without much stress. the quality of ur writing + character building, and whether u are telling a story that's engaging and that ur readers feel meaningfully involved in, is 100000x more important than the art.
on the more nitty gritty side: try to have a hook in each update. one of the most common reasons suggestions die off is readers being unsure of what they're supposed to do next. sure, too much spoonfeeding could end up feeling like railroading, and you don't have to end every single update by getting right in their faces and yelling "WHAT DO YOU DO NEXT??", but when you finish an update try to take a second to put yourself in a reader's shoes and see if there's an obvious next step. is there a course of action to decide on/debate, are there clear questions they can ask an npc, etc -- i can't think of a great way to describe it, but you want to avoid ending an update on a note where the player character and readers are basically sitting there looking at each other like "um... okay. that's that, then." some ppl even just end all their updates w multiple choice options, which is a super simple way to keep things moving if it fits the style of what ur doing. if you don't want it to be that overt but you still can't think of a way for there to be a clear hook, you can at least try to leave a little nudge in the narration that invites the readers to try to tie whatever they've just done/learned back into the pc's main goals/motivations or current tasks. (on this subject, VERY useful for your main character to have a very specific goal or end destination that everyone is on the same page abt. it's harder for your plot to lose momentum if you can always point at what your readers are supposed to be moving toward!)
finally: KEEP UPDATING EVEN IF YOU GET VERY FEW/NO SUGGESTIONS. it's a niche genre. questden is a small website. it's hard to get people to read something new, especially if it's in a new and unfamiliar format (and especially especially when it's on a website that looks like a chanboard lmao). picking up readers takes a long time, and a lot of people lurk without suggesting (ESPECIALLY if it's a difficult/plot-important decision, and also especially in the opposite, if it's a very obvious next step and someone else has already commented what most ppl would say). it's very tempting to want to wait for more suggestions bc u "only" have one or two, and then that wait becomes stagnation, and then you're frustrated and u end up dropping the quest bc "nobody cares." instead u just have to push thru!!!! u only have two suggestions and u wish u had more? maybe next update u'll get more. u have NO suggestions and u feel like that means ur quest is dead in the water? NOPE! the solution is to update again, bc maybe ppl with latch on more and have something to say in the next scene. the more u update ur quest, the more u'll be able to talk abt it (and maybe get more readers), and specifically in the case of questden the more ur thread will be bumped to the front page. think abt how many times you've seen ppl talking abt a webcomic or a book and thought "i need to check that out eventually...." but it takes months for you to actually do it. 99.9999% of the time, ppl need to see something MULTIPLE TIMES before they check it out!! most readers do not come from clicking something the very first time they see it!! i know it can feel lonely and discouraging, but u owe it to ur art and the stories u want to tell to keep trying, even if engagement is very low at first, otherwise you're killing it before it's even had a chance. like, get shameless about it. ask your buddies to comment on your quest. but give that horse a few really good whacks before you decide it's dead!! i think that's my main thoughts. if you have any more specific questions i'm happy to help if i can! but also i think you'll learn the most by just jumping in and fucking around. quests are easy to pick up and easy to drop, and imo do really well as a playground where u test different ways to draw and tell stories, so might as well just get messy.

Heya! :D For the CODZ ask game:
2) Favorite map(s)?
8) Favorite individual CODZ character(s), and why?
9) Least favorite individual CODZ character(s), and why?
10) Any popular characters you think are overrated?
11) Any characters you personally find to be underrated?
Hi!
2. TranZit and Origins! ESPECIALLY on singleplayer. those maps have some of the best singleplayer experiences for a zombies map, ever.
8. My answer in a previous ask was Russman. So i'm gonna do favorite NPC instead and that'll be the devil dogs you have to feed in MOTD. My cutie patooties! and the hell's retriever and redeemer are rlly fucking cool weapons.
9. My answer in a previous ask was the panzer. So i'm gonna do a PC instead and for that i'm just goin with the SoE cast. Admittedly i don't have a reason besides; they're the one cast of characters i have no connection too. And that goes for any Bo3/Bo4 crew that wasn't primis, ultimis and victis. I'm a very old-fashioned fan who stopped playing zombies at Bo2 (and only got into Bo3 recently and still haven't played Bo3's specific DLC maps) so yeah.
10. Ultimis AND Primis without a doubt. Ultimis was always scene as The Crew™ when you think of CODZ so of COURSE everyone likes them. And then Primis are just retconned-into-better-people versions of Ultimis so ofc they're liked as well (and sometimes liked even more). But all the love that Ultimis and Primis is given was not diverted to crews like Victis—who were a VERY POLARIZING crew when TranZit came out. I was young at the time and even EYE was aware of how mixed ppl felt about victis.
Ppl have come around to them eventually, but the damage was already done. And now Victis' only chance in the story were as the middle men to set in motion they're own demise. And Treyarch felt so apathetic toward them that they aren't even acknowledged in the recent Dark Aether Storyline. Not even a wink or a nod or anything. But yup, let's focus on an older Samantha Maxis who falls in and out of the dark aether without once seeing Victis. Oops I'm ranting lemme dial it back...
Basically. Ultimis and Primis. And Samantha can catch a stray too lol. I don't hate any of these characters, but they're overwhelming popularity definitely influenced the direction of the story (why else do you think Treyarch made Richtofen basically immortal? Also yes I am bitter about victis thx for asking).
11. Marlton.
Now this is rich of me to say cus—admittedly—he's my least favorite out of the victis crew. But i rlly feel like he's the least interesting one. Stu has the zombie-eating cult and richtofen in his head. Misty (despite having 0 connection to the plot with her past like Marlton) actually has a reason to fight against the zombies which is out of revenge for killing her dad (unless that information has been retconned or is just straight up untrue). She also seems to be the leader of Victis, already making her way more important than Marlton. And Russman was connected to Broken Arrow—which not only connects to 115 and the zombies, but it also connects to the avocado and everything to do with tranZit basically.
Marlton, unfortunately, has nothing going for him. He was in nuketown? I guess? That was never rlly expanded on. And I feel bad, cus some of his lines are actually pretty funny. But the only thing he rlly has going for him is his (reciprocated) crush on Misty. The other members have grown to stand out on their own I feel like, but Marlton is pretty much stuck in being "the smart one," and the Russman Broken Arrow shit shakes that cus the only reason Russy isn't as "smart" as Darlington is cus of his dementia
#formatting my longer answers so they're easier to read 😭#cod zombies#115#tux's interrogation station

apologies if this is like. putting too much authority on u so u can ignore it
i used to be really into genshin & i love a lot of the characters/story but esp with the newer stuff (i say "newer" but i left before sumeru came out) i've been getting really uncomfy w/ the lack of fat, disabled, or darker skinned folks and i wanted to ask if you think they got/are getting any better in that regard?
this got incredibly long so I'm going to put it under the cut!
for one I'd say that one of genshins biggest problems is it's complete lack of dark skinned characters. there are, what, five playable characters who aren't death pale out of the 70 something in the whole game currently? and my white dad gets darker than all of them in the summer. and then almost every single one of the darker skinned npcs in sumeru, with the exception of like three, have either been lying tricksters trying to con us, or aggressive and "brutish". they are also framed as being evil, unreasonable, and dangerous for wanting their ancestral lands back and trying to practice their culture. they couldn't even make candace, who is BASED OFF OF A REAL BLACK ETHIOPIAN QUEEN, dark skinned. sumeru is based off of swana (which, there are also problems w sumeru being based off of a huge geographical area w a plethora of different cultures while every other nation in tyvat takes clear inspiration from One singular real world nation and culture), but almost all of the characters, npc and playable, are super pale? this is obviously not to say that Everyone from a certain region looks the same way or that there are no light skinned ppl in swana nations irl, but like. cmon. they had an opportunity to represent darker skinned ppl w a nation based off of an area where a lot of darker skinned nonwhite ppl live, and they dropped the ball. not to mention the fact that out of all of the sumeru npcs, I don't think Any of the scholars from the akademiya have darker skin. there's obviously cyno as a pc but I feel like his academic side wasn't as focused on as it was w the light skinned characters. I think that the positive addition of a collection of darker skinned protagonist playable characters and npcs in sumeru sadly doesn't outweigh the fact that these characters are still ultimately whitewashed, and negative treatment of so many of the darker skinned npcs in the nation and the way that, even when those characters aren't being portrayed in a negative light, harmful stereotypes are still being perpetuated. there were quests that I could barely get through because they made me so uncomfortable. I do however know that hoyo has gotten a good deal backlash about this issue, at least from north american players, so we'll see how they handle natlan
as for fat characters... I feel like in general, genshin does pretty well with fat npcs. for the most part they're treated the same as other characters, appear in a variety of roles, and I haven't noticed any fatphobic jokes. I could very much be wrong and I wouldn't be Surprised if there were one or two but it hasn't been so much of a glaring issue that I can think of specific examples or remember it as a huge overarching problem. there was a fat npc in the most recent archon quest that played a pretty minor but positive role. sadly, I don't think there will ever be a fat playable character in genshin. there is barely any body type variation in the pcs anyway, ignoring the complete lack of fat ones. at the end of the day, genshin is a gacha game. the most popular one in the world currently. every playable character has to be marketable to the largest possible audience, and to be blunt about it, as fucked up as it is, fat bodies are not marketable. I just Know that if there was a fat pc there would be insane backlash. the amount of people losing their fatphobic minds would drown out anybody celebrating it. now, there Are instances of hoyo doing stuff w character design despite previous backlash - lyney being so blatantly gnc despite all the shit they got for venti comes to mind - so Maybe there's hope, but I honestly doubt it, unfortunately
hoyos relationship w disabled characters is.... complicated. there were two pcs in sumeru who I would consider disabled - collei had a fictional chronic illness and another character named layla has what I'd argue is narcolepsy or at least chronic fatigue. you could argue that what's happening w dainsleif is a chronic illness and I know baizhu is sick in some way but I'm not informed enough on the details to really speak on it. the pc dehya Maybe has a prosthetic arm? but it's incredibly unclear. there are of course a few characters with eyepatches. there's an upcoming character in hoyos other game, star rail, who has a prosthetic arm, but in the same game they have a blind npc who turns out to be a villain with her blindness being an obvious aspect of why she chose to be evil. in genshin a lot of the characters with sort of ambiguous health problems are treated... fine? like dainsleif is obviously isn't supposed to be a villain but I feel like his chronic illness doesn't actually affect his every day life in a significant way and it's just sort of a looming plot device. from what I remember from our interactions with layla, nothing glaring stands out as being problematic, and I think the portrayal of her illness was decent but I also don't really Remember a lot about how she acted or was treated. eyepatched characters don't get outwardly ableist treatment but it also doesn't seem to really matter to or affect their characters. and then there's collei. collei could have been so good, I was So excited for collei. the treatment of her chronic illness was surprisingly well handled, and there was a plot significant npc with the same illness who I appreciated the handling of as well. it could have been So good. but then due to plot events that chronic illness magically disappeared and wasn't a problem for anyone anymore. I was so disappointed, it felt like such a cop out like oh this playable character whose whole life has been affected by her illness and who has had to build different strengths than others due to her disability? who experienced medical abuse and was taken advantage of because she was sick? yeah all that's magically whisked away now. like it didn't even matter. honestly it's embarrassing. hoyo had been handling it so well and then they fumbled at the end. for a popular piece of media, I think genshin does alright with disabilities, there are some positive instances I can think of, but I also think they've made some real blunders in this regard. I don't know if I would call recent updates any Better about disabled characters, but I guess there's More of them
hoyo has its own handful of biases and bigotry that are very evident in the game (especially when it comes to race and colorism), there's no arguing with that, but I do think a good chunk of it comes down to what is and what they perceive as marketable, and considering genshin Is a combat game, this is especially true for fat playable characters. people would throw a fit about fat characters being """unrealistic""" in a combat setting, and hoyo knows this. they know that certain disabilities could get similar backlash or at least not be seen as being as "cool", and they know that, especially in east asian countries where colorism is very prevalent, dark skinned characters wouldn't make as much money. people like to act like because hoyo is a chinese company, they could have no possible clue that any of these things are problems, which is it's own insane brand of racism/orientalism from fans, but ultimately they are a multimillion dollar corporation trying to make as much money as they can, they know exactly what they're doing
there are many parts of the game that you can tell are made with genuine love for the story and the craft, I'm not saying it's all a nefarious cash grab, they Do care about quality and storytelling - that's clear in the intricacy of the lore and the beauty of the game itself. genshin is a game made by people trying to make good art, and I want to acknowledge that, but those people also work for a multimillion dollar company that gets the final say. I'm not trying to be pessimistic and say genshin will Never change, or that they Always bend to fan service and marketability, I do think there's hope! they've gotten better about a lot of these things! but I don't think that any of the issues you mentioned are Fixed by any means, and sadly a lot of the positive improvements have negative and disappointing counterparts
#I'll also say I'm not at all really engaded or informed about issues in other servers#I know very little about what ppl outside of na n sometimes eu servers think or what issues they're bringing to hoyo#I only hear bits and bobs of controversy#and to be honest I'm not rlly engaged w the genshin fandom anyway because I think its a nightmare#but these are my personal observations on the game and what little I know of other ppls perception of issues#ghost posts#ask#anon#genshin#racism#fatphobia#ableism

ermmm i need to be a hater bc i can't stand how popular the bla.de/da.n hen.g ship is
posting this as of 1.2 release
like first of all a LOT of the "material" for the ship is how dan feng and blade (I forgot his other name so im just gonna call him blade the whole time) were v close
i think i would agree w and even like the headcanon that they were lovers
but the thing is.... dan heng is NOT dan feng. like that's the whole point of the past life thing... and the game has already given us at least 3 separate instances where they call the current incarnations different ppl from their previous incarnations. im thinking specifically of the npc girl in luofu whos singing when u first meet her when i say even the dragon race themselves treat their past lives as a separate person
its just hammered in over and over that the new incarnations don't have memories of their predecessor and that they're essentially entirely different people
so that's the entire basis of blade/dan heng GONE
like. they're not exes. they're not ex-friends. they're not ANYTHING bc dan heng ISNT dan feng!!!! the only actual relationship these 2 have is hunter and hunted!!
and like... if all the ship fanworks were based off of that enemies to lovers dynamic maybe id eat it up
but all the shit i see is how theyre exes or soulmates or whatever and its💀💀💀💀 they ARENTTTT they aren't soulmates or star-crossed lovers destined to meet in all of their lives they aren't ANYTHING blade is trying to kill a dead man by killing what resembles him the most its like trying to kill his bfs son bc his bf already kicked the bucket💀💀💀 there's nothing romantic abt those circumstances if u consider dan heng his separate person from dan feng (which I think everyone should)
like if it was dan FENG waking up and seeing his ex going crazy w the desire to kill him uhhh that'd be hot
BUT ITS NOT. ITS DAN HENG. AN ALMOST COMPLETELY UNRELATED GUY.
DAN HENG ISNT DAN FENG. dan heng doesn't owe blade anything!!! he doesn't have mistakes to make up for he's not obligated to seek blades forgiveness nor forgive blade for trying 2 kill him all the time and he DOESNT have "hidden memories" or a "distant past" w blade. those memories and past all belong to dan FENG, A DIFFERENT GUY. da same soul doesn't equal da same person!!!!!
bros if the fics and fanarts are abt dan heng building a completely new relationship w blade id eat that shit up but instead it's all abt reviving a lost love or rekindling a flame or whatever😭😭😭😭 yall r so wrong there's no gotdamn flame 2 rekindle stop treating dan heng like he's dan feng the whole 1.2 story goes over that shit
but since 1.2 main story literally JUST came out and tho they've told us abt the past life stuff in the side stories before 1.2, i know a lot of ppl straight up dont pay attention to side stories so i guess I can't rly blame ppl for just relying on the tropes they like (love that persists thru reincarnation and exes 2 enemies 2 lovers and all that jazz) to go delulu
hopefully all the fic from now on will at least acknowledge dan heng as his own person...
i don't like the ship rn bc it does dan heng so dirty💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
