Your past relationship before Johann wasn't the best, you weren't used to him buying you stuff so carelessly or taking you every other day. At first, it was a little hard to get accustomed to the sudden change, but eventually, you started to like it. Except for the part where you and he had to go to the clothing store. Each time Johann stopped dead in his tracks in the middle of a date to point at a cute outfit sitting in the window of a random store, a part of you internally screamed for him not to drag you inside.

Speaking about that— "You like these? These frills might be itchy on your skin though..." —yes, you were trapped inside another store again. Taking in a deep breath you stared at Johann, then at the dress he was holding. No matter how often you told him you either didn't like this style of clothing or that it wouldn't look good in it, he still made you buy and wear the stuff. Of course, he only made you wear it when both of you were alone, there's no way he'd let you look this adorable in front of someone else.

You wondered how many more clothes he could buy you, after all, even if Johann made sure to visit you almost every day, his job kept him from being with you all the time. Most of the time he kept some of the clothes in his house too, he had a 'special place for them', out of context that phrase could be worrying, but Johann was such a sweetheart behind that stoic exterior that you didn't really question it. As he grabbed another piece of clothing you shot your hands to grab his forearm, squeezing softly as you smiled up to him. "J-Johann, I don't think I'd look good on that. I have many dresses back at home too, you shouldn't buy mo—" But before you could even finish you felt Johann leaning down to whisper against your ear, his voice soft and secretive. "I think you'd look good in anything." the ghost of a smile appeared on his lips. "I've always wanted to take care of someone as precious as you, would you let me do that?" There was serious longing in his voice. From all the past experiences you had with him, you clearly noticed that ache to fulfill a role that Johann always had. Taking care of you during dates, making sure you didn't get sick, and even aftercare with him was a blissful experience. All the things he told you about feeling empty and without a purpose in life, it's like a part of him has been waiting all this time to have this, to have you. You stood stunned, questioning if you should feel even more embarrassed or prideful, he looked at you with an adoration written in his eyes that made you shiver, and you felt a little guilty at how much you enjoyed it. "Here, we can buy these and try them out at home, how does that sound?" You nodded, giving him a compliant smile as you reached to hug his arm. "Okay... thank you." One hand snaked its way around your waist, squeezing slightly as he kissed you on the top of the head, nuzzling against it. "You're welcome, baby."

Yes, I absolutely hate that stuff - it's literally the most disgusting stuff one can taste! - *sighs* but .... he's right ... *smile fades* I just try to worm myself out of that kind of medicine you know? My throat hasn't fully healed yet ... it's still sore and from time to time it even hurts ... I haven't told him a word ... but he just ... knows! He senses it. All he does is to protect and keep safe. And if it is forcing me to take my medicine when I make a drama out of it, yes, he will.

So, yep, I consider myself lucky. If you'd ask Magnifico about it, or if you'd come between us, he would have told you the same thing. ... I hate it, but I really am sensitive to sicknesses. I don't talk about it much because I don't want to seem as if I'm throwing a pity party for myself. But it sucks. Oftentimes I cannot do as much as I would like to because my health gets in the way. It's either my migraines, or my heart or I get sick. And almost every single time those three come in a row. That means, whenever I get an episode of cardiac arrhythmias or a migraine, my immune system drops for some reason I don't know - I haven't asked my doctors yet why that is - and I run a high risk of catching a cold or a flu. In my case, I got a cold and five weeks later that and tonsilitis ...

Magnifico wouldn't be so stern about me taking medicine if he didn't know about my health problems .... he's seen me ... at my lowest with my health and ... I understand how scary that was for him ... coming from the background he has ... he had that look on his face ... the same panic I saw in my Mom's face after I got cardiac arrhythmias once when we were on a trip alone and Dad was home ... or Dad after I fell from a bike while we took a tour along the coast and my knee was bleeding ...

Having anyone in your life who cares exceedingly for your wellbeing can be exhausting sometimes, even annoying, but at the end of the day, you can consider yourself lucky, cause it is a display of how much they care for you. More than they do for themselves.

And Magnifico values others more than himself a thousand times. He'd give his life for others in the blink of an eye. His last scrap of clothing for someone in need. He'd give up his palace if that would mean someone would get the help needed. A neighboring farmer needs help on the field? Magnifico comes running to dig into the dirt. Someone new moves to Rosas and needs a new house, Magnifico builds it himself, brick by brick. A cow freaks out and destorys a store? Magnifico is there to help clean the mess. Someone in Rosas is on their deathbed ... Magnifico is there to help comfort the grieving family as best as he can as their king. ... He's incredible ...and I adore him for that.

nicholas had been by your side ever since you could remember. from the beginning of your friendship, the first year of elementary school, it had been the two of you against the world. you had grown up together – being there through every broken bone, each other's bad hair phases, first crushes, and tons of trips. you knew nicholas like the back of your hand and vice versa, and there had never been a single secret between the two of you.

or so you thought.

in fact, nicholas had a secret. one that he had burried so deep that even he could have forgotten about it – if it wasn't so damn stubborn to always come back to the surface.

it all had started on one random afternoon during your high school years. it had been a warm day near the end of summer and you'd walked home together as usual, when suddenly nicholas realized how the sunlight reflected on your hair and made your eyes shine more brightly than usual – and he had felt a strange feeling bubbling up in his stomach.

at first, he had brushed it aside, but when he'd caught himself catching a glimpse of you more often than before, and the feeling came back each time you did so much as smile, he knew it hadn't just been sickness – he had a crush on you.

and it scared him, a lot. but it would go away, that's what he'd told himself. it was weird to crush on his best friend, but that's what could happen during puberty, right?

he ignored the feeling each time it dared to bubble up, forcing it right back down to where it had come from. to say that he was successful in doing so was rather far from the truth, but he figured it would just pass. it had to. there was no chance it wouldn't. and if it didn't leave alone, he'd mask it until he had forced it to leave. that was his resolve.

nicholas stood beside you through your first relationship, your first heartbreak, and your moving on. he'd also dated here and there, but he'd never really felt a connection, so it had never gotten serious with any of his dates. and just like he stood beside you through everything, you did the same for him. you watched as your best friend went in and out of talking stages, never really settling for anything more.

you thought it would stop after graduating from high school – after growing a bit older and a bit more mature, but nicholas didn't seem to change his habits. he never complained about it, either, not really seeming to search for a true connection with a partner.

"so, what's with the girl from the weekend?" you asked, as you were sitting together in your usual café, taking a sip from your drink and looking at him with genuine interest.

he just shrugged, bringing the straw of his own cup to his lips and taking a sip before replying, "didn't vibe," as nonchalant as ever.

you searched his eyes for something, anything, but sighed when you found nothing. "you know, nico, i think you should give her more time? she seemed genuinely nice. maybe you shouldn't shut people out after meeting them only once?"

he looked you in the eyes, and for a second, you could see the hint of something flashing through them, but before you could decipher what it meant, it was gone again.

"what's the point in a second date if i know from the start we don't match?" he asked, finishing his coffee while waiting for your answer.

you thought for some moments, but knew better than trying to convince him otherwise, so you just shrugged and mumbled a tiny, "you know best."

you sat in silence for some minutes, you finishing your coffee and nicholas mindlessly scrolling through his phone.

"i'll head to the bathroom and we can leave after, if you want?" you broke the short moment of silence, and nicholas nodded, following you with his eyes until you disappeared around the corner of the small room.

when you approached the table just moments later, you saw a girl standing next to nicholas, who was still seated. he had his back turned to you, looking up at the girl. you couldn't see his face, just the way he shortly shook his head, before she gave him a quick, understanding smile, and left.

you squinted your eyes in curiosity, sped up for the last steps and quickly sat down next to him again. "what was that?" you asked, causing nicholas to stir around, looking at you almost startled.

"next time maybe don't give me a heart attack," he frowned, but you only grinned back at him, pressing further, "you're not answering my question, nico."

he sighed yet another time, and you started to wonder when he'd picked up this habit. had he always sighed so much, or was he just more annoyed these days?

"it was nothing. she asked for my number and i said no," he said, making your eyes widen,

"are you out of your mind? she was insanely pretty and–"

"i didn't want to," he interrupted, his voice low and sharp, contrasting the soft-spoken nicholas you usually knew. he had always looked unapproachable until he smiled, but once you got closer to him, you realized he was just a big fluffball.

"geez, okay," you said defensively, "but why?"

"do i have to have a reason?" he asked, the tone of his voice almost irritated.

you furrowed your eyebrows. "i'm just saying. you never even settle for a second date, and now you declined one of the prettiest girls ever when she asked you for your number?"

nicholas shifted in his seat – he looked a bit more uncomfortable than usual, which drew your brows together even more. "you know you can talk to me if–" you started but he interrupted you wordlessly by shaking his head.

"i can't– i mean... there's nothing," he blurted out, biting the inside of his cheek slightly but just enough for you to notice.

"but... why are you never, i don't know, trying with them?" you pressed again, which made him tighten his jaw even more. he could taste the metallic flavor on his tongue from how hard he was biting his cheek, yet he didn't let loose.

"just stop asking," he replied, short and cold, but it only intrigued you more. it wasn't like him to not tell you if something was on his mind, and it was very much not like him to look so uncomfortable in front of you.

"look, nicholas. i just don't understand why–"

something inside him snapped. he didn't know what he was thinking, hell, if he was thinking even, when he leaned in and closed the distance between you, placing his soft lips on yours. your eyes widened, but you didn't pull back. before you could even process what had happened, nicholas pulled away, looking you in the eye, as he said,

"that's why."

You and Theo started to date one year ago. Your friends told you that it wasn't a good idea, since he was a slytherin, but you never judged him and he never judge you. One day, he simply comes up to your dorm, hands in his pockets, and murmurs:

"I want to break up." you look at him, not knowing if he was serious or not.

"What? Is this a joke?" you asked, trying to not think about the worst.

"No. Y/n, I'm really sorry. This is not about you, I just can't be with you." he answered sadly, looking at you.

The tears started to appear, but you wouldn't let them come out now.

"You're kidding, right? Did I do something wrong...? Tell me, I can fix it!"

"You did nothing wrong—" you interrupted him.

"Then why are you breaking up with me? Theo, I cannot do this without you!" you took a few steps near him.

"I'm sorry." and with this, he leaves your dorm and you fall onto your bed, allowing finally your tears to fall.

That's what happened that made you never look the same again. One month had passed since he broke up with you, and you still didn't got over, but he did. He already had his arm wrapped around a brand new girl.

When you noticed, you were walking around the camp of daisies, remembering everything that happened in here. This was your spot, until Theo found it. He started to come here often, since he knew you'd be here. Your first kiss was here, just like your last.

Taking slow steps, you ended up at the tree, your tree. You sat just underneath her, and let all of your memories with Theo appear slowly. A memorie of when you and him were on his dorm, in the middle of the night, having a conversation about a random topic. That was the first time he said he loved you. You even remembered the hour, 01:58AM.

Or like that one time he made you go to a party and invited you to dance with him, even though he knew you didn't dance.

"Come on, let's dance" he said smiling at you, grabbing your hand softly.

"You know I don't dance" you giggle.

"Come on!" he asked again and lead you to the center of the dance floor.

You rolled your eyes and he started to slowly dance with you. After a few seconds, you gave up and started to dance together with him, not caring about the others, which was a problem to you. You laughed and you danced a lot that night.

Or the thousands of memories when you were talking with him about how insecure you felt about yourself or any other type of things and he just kissed you as a way to shut you up. And there is not a day you don't miss those rude interruptions.

You took a deep breath, whipping all the tears that insisted on rolling down your cheeks. You needed to get over. You had to stop seeing his life in pictures, like you used to watch him peacefully sleeping when you had insomnias, or ask his friends how he's doing.

Right now, on this beautiful day, when the sun shines, you wish he had stayed. The truth is, you always thought he wouldn't change his mind.

You finally get up, after several minutes sat down on the grass full of daisies, and start to walk your way back to the castle. ♡ he is sadistic. not a headcanon, just fact. this can be seen in his killings in the movie. though he primarily killed to give a point to the city of gotham, and to become a symbol much bigger than himself, he never gives these people quick and simple deaths. he enjoys these killings. cutting off the mayor’s thumb while he was still alive, sticking rat poison in officer savage, and sticking his head in a rat cage, waiting for them to eat him alive shown for everyone to watch. these were thought out, and he enjoyed watching. he enjoyed putting on a show, and their deaths were his entertainment.

♡ though outside of being the riddler, edward has a lot of self hatred. this fronts as anger, standoffish and anti-social behaviors. he doesn't mean to be mean, its just deep rooted. a combined hatred of everyone who'd hurt him prior.

♡ even though he hates himself, he also thinks of himself as better than anyone else. he feels as if he is worthy, and he has the intellect to show it. he consistently searches for small, daily positions that keep him in power.

♡ has a love/hate relationship with his own intellect. he wishes he wasn't cursed with his knowledge, sometimes he just wishes he could be blind and stupid to the darkness of the city. but he prides himself in being smart, especially in being good with numbers. its something he knows he can actually do correctly. he loves the certainty of numbers, how they never change or lie.

♡ i think would mostly hate how smart he was when he was younger. he hated how it distanced himself from genuinely everyone, and at one point he wasn't sure if he just enjoyed being reclusive or if he simply just got used to it. ⋆⭒ he would hate how the other kids or his classmates would only talk to him when they needed answers for their work and how they would expect him to know everything. (he sadly did.)

♡ he loves consistency. but hates complacency. he knows things can change, things could be better. but he finds comfort in his routines, even if it makes his world grey.

♡ due to religion being constantly drilled into his brain throughout his childhood, he experiences severe trauma. when he does something that is not pleasing to the beliefs he was taught, he self deprecates. lots of talking down on himself. he still can remember a few memory verses and prayers, and sometimes obsessively recites them to himself. ⋆⭒ he knows some of his fears are honestly a little irrational, that maybe one day he'll just be struck down. he's trying not to let them take over his logic, but he struggles. he is constantly upset that he still has these childhood fears that bind him.

♡ speaking of his time during the orphanage: his dirty unkempt upbringing and the long lasting effects of it could be seen in his living space. the chaotic and 'dirty' environment is almost comforting to him. sticky notes with ramblings of riddles and math problems. besides, his brain works too fast to care where things were placed in his home.  

♡ despite his messy apartment, he hates feeling dirty. this is also thanks to the orphanage. he’s well kempt. everything is messy, not dirty. the orphanage was sadly, both. he looks like a sopping wet rat, it doesn't mean he smells like one though.

♡ he also has a fear of smelling bad, despite knowing he thoroughly washes. ⋆⭒ i think he would smell like soap or just his laundry detergent. he wants to try different scents, he kind of likes the idea of having a 'signature scent,' but honestly some smells give him a headache if they're too concentrated. and he can't have that while doing his everyday activities. ⋆⭒ its the kind of scent where you can only really smell it on the person when you hug them, y'know? which is kind of fine to him, he'd rather smell like nothing than something bad.

♡ he absolutely despises drops. any kind of heavy drug really he stays away from. he knows just how easily it can unravel a person, after constantly watching kids as young as 12 years old become addicted to it. his intellect would go to waste if he ever decided to start using.

♡ BUT! definitely smokes weed, or just in general he smokes. he probably tried it for the first time in his early twenties, hated it and dropped it. but he CANNOT continue handling his anxieties raw. so he picks it up again in his thirties. only occasionally... kind of.

♡ he loves LOVES animals. i like to think he had a little hyperfixation on animals and the general care for them when he was younger, so despite never having a pet, he could definitely at least recommend what to feed your average household pet.

♡ not only that, but he finds interest their internal structures, and the similarities to the human body. (i honestly don't know where these hcs came from, but bare with me here.) ⋆⭒ he loves dogs, but he's found himself liking cats a bit more recently. especially strays, he finds their resilience to continue living despite their circumstances to be admirable. ⋆⭒ he'd love to adopt. but he can hardly keep track of his own health, not to mention the state of his apartment. and don't even get him started on the extra expenses. ⋆⭒ though, i think he'd be pretty scared of interacting with any stray, maybe just animals in general he'd be pretty hesitant of being around. he doesn't like the uncertainty. and hates remembering his bad experiences with animals when he was younger. ⋆⭒ i think he'd bring himself to a cat café for one of his birthdays after weighing the pros and cons, after a day that was especially rough on him or something. he usually doesn't care for the date, but he honestly just likes using it as an excuse to go out somewhere whenever he feels like it. So, that said, the following list is probably not in line with what I'd actually ultimately believe to be the best, most crucial ones--it's just the ones my brain can call to mind at the moment. lol. BUT HERE ARE SOME:

serious/insightful: • Jon and Alex for Tape Notes podcast. (so not a must-watch so much as a much-listen, but there are a few individual clips from this on youtube in video form as well I believe.) RDF is my favorite EE album and I thought this was a hugely interesting look into their writing process and also had a bunch of cool personal stuff in it! Plus, I think it's a very good look at who the band are, like, "now" -- there's a lot of great content around from MA up through GTH, but by the time they were on album 4 and all like, 30+, and especially once covid hit and sort of changed the trajectory of like.. bands, in general, I feel like it's just been a different animal re: regular interviews etc. • this 2013 3-parter with Jonathan. It's been ages since I watched it but I remembered it almost immediately, and for some reason I'm remembering it as an oddly vulnerable Jon moment. just talking about things. (more good band lore! etc.)

funny/meme-y: • Mike and Jez at Isle of Wight. Unlike many others, I could not possibly count how many times I have rewatched this, and it is funny every time. The interviewer is a buffoon asking totally clueless questions and Jez is having absolutely none of it, he's just chomping his chewing gum the entire time, Mike's doing his best, it destroys me. • Mike and Jez look at memes. Less interview-y and more just #content but whoever edited this video did a TOP NOTCH JOB and it's one I often show to not-in-this-fanbase friends that can still be a fun look at the band and a good laff. • This very sweet one with Alex and Mike being interviewed by a literal child. Contains the infamous "Jeremy, and yes," which is one of my most quoted EE-related sentences ever • this Man Alive track-by-track, also audio only.. the BITS that Jon and Alex are doing. truly incredible stuff

just lads having a nice time :) : • the CAPSLOCK ON talkback - lots of pleasant band and lyric insight, and a great Jez cheese moment at the end • this livestream dot com session is some performing but some Q&Aing, so not really an interview proper, but the energy in the room is delightful alskdghj

other noteworthy bodies of work: • anything with Andy Backhouse. I'll be the first to admit that Andy can grate my nerves sometimes, he often feels annoyingly a little too simp-y or something, but the other side of that coin is that as a huge fan of the band he actually does always ask them questions that are like, Real, he Gets them, so it's guaranteed to be a notch up from just random music journos who are engaging with them on a more surface industry level. Nothing is more frustrating than watching an EE interview where the interviewer just so blatantly doesn't "get" EE's whole deal and doesn't know how to interface. Andy never has that problem ! • any episode of Chips of Chorlton that features them (I think Jon's been on twice and Jeremy once). Dutch Uncles are their friends and hearing them all shoot the shit in an extremely comfortable environment is suuuuch a pleasant and wholly different experience than when the lads are being Professional Music Band guys, even when the latter still consists of them doing fairly goofy things

Hello! I'm here to talk about pestilence, he's so cool :D

Alright now, i didn't do a reference sheet bc 1- they're getting boring to me, 2- there's not much changes to show, all i did was reduce his color palette, buuut if the creator don't like my decision i'll do the og colors.

Intruduction:

Alright, it looks like not that many people know him, so you can learn more about him here. But i can give you a summary, but you'll still lose some details.

I don't plan on getting too deep into his backstory in InvertedVerse bc he's just a side character so i don't see any need on doing so. But maybe i change my mind in the future, my mind is a mystery box...

He's a parasite-like being that feeds off the magic of other beings. He is an out-code Sans.

His role is the sickness and he has this passive that slowly makes people sick around him, it's something related to his death from infections and diseases.

Inside InvertedVerse:

Alright now, Pesti is on the Darkside, Nightmare's side, why? That's actually a short story, idk if should say it now, but he does have a important role, so important even that i'm afraid to spoil everything, like, help.

His host ain't Zoo!sans anymore, Zootale is finally in peace from Pestilence, bc Nightmare took him off there for.. uhmmm, a mutual share of favors.

I'm not sure who his new host is, it can't be Nightmare, neither anyone from the darkside, but i have no idea. Maybe because the place he's in now has so many people he just picked up someone random... like... like Anx (it's not a offense to him)! I'm a genious.

He's a side character as i said, he's more of a comic relief than a serious guy with a whole badass arc or somethin', but he's a jester not a clown.

Hobbies:

He often spies the residents one of them the Undercop detectives, the detectives have some murder mystery going on, it's quite interesting to watch bc it doesn't happen often, oh yeah that's a big side plot for Invertedverse btw and it's through Pestilence that the audience finds out about it, maybe he even helps finding who's the murderer, who knows?

Also tries to make some "friends" to keep himself entertained until the day of depression happens... (just made out the name)

Sometimes he get into non-physical fights just for fun (idk if that's accurate), one of the fights he picked up was with Wine, the Sans from Fellswap Gold, Pestilence can pierce his skin like a needle and see what's inside, not all of it, but most of it, Wine despises Pestilence.

I have this headcanon that everywhere he goes he touches things to contaminate them like doorknobs, chairs or anything in public places that people often put their hands on, specially bathrooms. Idk i just think it's funny.

Anyway he's a funny little guy doing some funny little things with his funny little "friends" and funny little tricks and puns.

Keep in mind that reader is a child! They will not be the average y/n, she won't try and solve everyone's problems, and they're still learning and growing as a person! (That's what this whole fic is for-)

okokookookkokokokok these aren't all relevant to the Au per say, but this does apply to the plot and some of the lore for the fic.

im sure you saw the post- but I headcanon the skeles to be able to pop out their eyes. and at first it seemed random- but Papyrus has fucking eyes in the game (!?!) and so does sans, so why tf not?

Now a thing that I do not headcannon is their bones being able to pop out. I don't have any reason, I just don't like the idea of their limbs being Legos (but fsr eyes r ok?)

They do have amazing dance moves tho (Sans gets a lil zesty when he does the worm).

Everything in this universe is like a sitcom, and while predictable things happen, it's not in the usual way it would.

In this universe, pollution doesn't exist as much as it does in the real world. Give these guys a chance to see those beautiful ass stars.

Dynamics I'd Like to Explore:

Horror and reader.

I would love to explore that "Mama bear" dynamic that Horror could have without dumbing him down to just "hungry" "traumatized" and "comfort".

I want to show how being in a starvation crisis still affects him, while also wanting someone to take care of.

I think reader would appreciate a person who always makes sure that they eat, because they didn't have that as often in the program they were previously in.

I also really really really want to make Horror very disturbing and unapproachable, so it would make him and reader need their characters to develop for their relationship to actually bloom.

I also wanna see him do odd things, like grinding his teeth to a piercing shriek, or putting things in his skull to remember for later, and reader's reactions and approaches to them.

Sans/Papyrus and reader

Ah yes, they will be a joy to write.

Sans and reader's relationship will come from a place of mutual respect almost? While also blatantly disrespecting each other at the same time???

They dont really do much together, other than chill.

And in the small moments that they actually do things together, they don't actually talk much (in a serious way) at all.

Papyrus and reader start it off rocky a bit, because of the surface level reason for why she was adopted.

Papyrus tries to engage reader in activities that he likes, but every try leads to some kind of avoidance or lack of enthusiasm.

(insert sans threat here)

But after having a deep conversation with each other, they become the bestest of friends!

Payarus hypes up reader every chance he gets, and reader makes so many gifts for him that his ego just can't take it!

I feel like the three of them together would be so wholesome, whether it's Sans reading Papyrus and reader a bedtime story, or if they all go shopping together.

There's never a dull moment with these two!

Swapfell gold Sans and Papyrus

LET THEM BE WINE AUNT BESTIES PLESSSSS

LET THEM TALK SHIT ABOUT THEIR BROTHERS WHILE ABSOLUTELY LOVING THEM TO DEATH.

They always walk in the room stunning, Swapfell Sans won't ever let Paps walk in the room with rags while he's there.

Both of them enjoy those live-laugh-love type decorations at hobby lobby, and always decorate the house up like a doll.

They curse without actually cursing and it's so funny.

"YOU BITTER HARLOT"

"Outrageously strong-stenched sinner."

"Papyrus I swear to all stars shining if you do not get your scraggly pelvis in this room your femur will cease to exist."

Mostly a crack dynamic, but that's what this fic is for.

Sans and Papyrus

A lot of this is half-personal and half-out-of-spite-in-the-fandom-because-i-hate-the-way-they-are-sometimes-portrayed-in-fanfiction.

Papyrus calls Sans "lazy" in a lighthearted way instead of actually believing as such. He knows that Sans could do many things, but he won't do them because of his mental health.

I like to think that since Papyrus has such great control over his magic, he's very much patient as well when it comes to people.

Especially Sans, because he of all people needs it the most.

Sans loves his brother, but not to a possessive extent. Yes, he will kill anyone and everyone for the coolest guy on Earth, but not without reason.

They take care of each other as much as they can actually.

They also have more complications other than "just keeping secrets". It's actually communication as a whole.

Something that I will not explain because it's a headcannon and not my story yet👍

Red and Sans

I feel like they'd be assholes together. That's all I need.

They probably make card houses out of boredom, but with packs of condiments.

They hate each other at first, but neither of them want to fight so it's passive aggressive comments between the two.

Imagine two Loona's (helluva boss) in one room. One emotionally stumped and the other too laid-back to do anything about it.

Suddenly the hostility goes away and everyone else is confused.

Very nice.

Fresh and Reader

Okay I admit this one is purely crack.

I need them to go to Chuckie Cheese and make fun of two year olds when they lose a game.

I want them to attack Karens in the parking lot with possessed furbies.

I want Fresh to scare reader with an ominous statement about her soul and go back to living life free.

LOOK INTO MY EYES!!!

I want reader to believe he's not real and only a part of the fever dreams she has since the world changed.

I NEED FRESH TO PLAY ALONG BC HE THINKS ITS FUNNY

Dream and Nightmare.

Most of these headcannons are inspired/from Ano (@/signanothername). So if my brain is rotted no it's not.

Their relationship is...complicated.

At first, they sabotage each other for fun and competition.

But next thing you know! They're full blown fighting, throwing jabs at each other physically and verbally.

Most people like to think that the two fight each other because they represent and protect different and opposite emotions.

But they fight because they are mentally teenagers, who are SIBLINGS<

It's very tiring to experience and be apart of, because you never know what the two will do in a room alone.

Coming from experience, when I would want my sibling to feel something that I was trying to get through to them, I would say something that hurts. Like really bad.

Dream and Nightmare remind each other of their past mistakes with aggressive and ingenuine kindness when no one's looking.

While Dream isn't an asshole per say, he just has a hard time keeping himself in check around Nightmare. Other than that he's the kindest soul.

Nightmare is an asshole, but he doesn't make any move to "confront" Dream or make a meaningful conversation with him. He still has regrets and animosities from the past, but won't intentionally heal from that.

^^These all will contribute to main plot and subplot. Nothing will be completely resolved, but each relationship will be expressed with more realistic situations rather than "they feel this way because everyone else says so." (cough cough fandom cough cough)

Every other dynamic like Reader and Gaster, or Star/Bad Sanses will be explored as well- those are just the main ones I'm excited for. Of course, I cant fit them all in (because it'll just be run-on words with no actual plot), but I can try to give everyone a situation where they can interact with each other.

Unfortunately, Swapfell Gold won't be in this story at all- only Horrortale and Underfell and the usual multiverse deities. I may not be able to fit them in one fic, but I can make side content and my own fanart to satisfy myself. (WHY WONT MY BLORBOS FIT IN!!!)

Sans

Sans actually does sleep in my au, probably too much really. He uses it as a means of escape because it's hard for him to come to terms with "no more resets"

Frisk isn't the same anymore, and throughout the story he'll get more and more paranoid.

Sans will trip Gaster any chance that he's given.

I like to headcannon that Sans doesn't have an obsession with ketchup, and it's moreso "gasp! the ketchup guy!" type thing. I also like to believe that the only reason why he can drink so much ketchup like that is because of people's reactions.

Sans is a comedian at heart, so he will do/say most things that people consider outrageous; hence the ketchup thing.

I like to think that he only pursued physics because of his dad, rather than mathematics like he initially wanted to do.

Sans hates slime and the grease it leaves on his phalanges as well as the sound it gives off.

He'd probably bring ketchup popsicles to the function.

Papyrus

Imagine that he can 'port' as well, leaving Gaster the only one who cannot. He just doesn't do it because the "void" makes him uncomfortable.

You could call him the "emotionally intelligent one" despite him not understanding a goddamn thing. He's just good at solving problems with patience.

He can see how someone feels, but he won't use that to read the room and understand what to do and what not to do.

He doesn't understand some social rules, like "comparing yourself to others for competition" and "tips for a cup of coffee"

It's confusing he thinks. Which can also lead him to misreading someone's emotions.

If you open up his closet there's a trick wall in it. And behind it, there's a dart board with Gaster's face on it. He's still mad at him, but won't let it show as to keep the family as peaceful as possible.

Sometimes when he's out with Sans, Papyrus would grab him and hold him under his arm and just carry him like that.

He is actually a pretty decent cook. And Sans doesn't lie to him about that.

Gaster

He actually falls when Sans trips him. It's funny as hell.

Since we don't know much about Gaster, this personality is kind of all over the place.

As I've stated before, he is morally ambiguous, and is comfortable with justifying things that seem wrong to most people.

Like cutting holes in his hands to get children instead of getting a wife.

On the other hand, he finds most arguments that humans have tedious, annoying, and easily solvable.

Or testing on a subject's soul who's figured out how to reset time itself instead of asking various questions.

He probably takes the top off of muffins and puts them back in just to spite Sans.

He loves his sons, but doesn't have a way to show them without making them feel awkward.

Despite him being open minded on human affairs, he can be very closed-minded when it comes to new things like routine, emotional intelligence, and boundaries.

Reader

Reader believes that the only reason why she was adopted is because Sans wasn't okay. Like she was supposed to "fix" him in some way, and kind of resents Papyrus because of that.

She's just a kid! How are they gonna help a stinky blob of depression?

Otherwise, it's probably the best they've ever lived.

When there's chaos, reader will remind Sans how "good" they're being and expect a reward when it's over.

She stims by rubbing her knuckles vertically across the joint of her arm (like me, tehe), and picks at her hangnails when she's under stress (also like me).

Granted, she doesn't remember memories from when her parents were alive, but right now she feels like she's in a place where she belongs. Like people actually want them.

Reader grew up in a place where they were older than everyone else, so they were immediately dubbed "older sibling".

Despite the wholesome sentiment, the way those kids would treat her would be toxic, but a small part of her still misses them.

Cannot match clothes to save her life (she walks out the door looking horrendous AFTER Papyrus gave her an outfit-)

She's fine with it though, "No aesthetic can fit me anyway."

Okay I'm done y'all, sorry for putting you through that torture.

I don't think you guys understand how long I want this fanfiction to be. Like bro IM PLANNING CHAPTERS NOW. I know I was trashing on the "fandom", but do know that whatever opinion you have is fine with me. I just have different ones and I prefer to express that through writing rather than arguing/causing mess.

And reminder: THESE.ARE.HEADCANNONS. If you agree, that's fine, if you don't that's also fine. But please do not come to my comments with your fists up. I'd rather discuss more headcannons for variety/diversity rather than claiming that a character can only be represented in one way. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk :))
