okay i will put a little more lore under the cut… i draw them a lot but sharing makes me shy. the plot might be cringy because me and @wyorians made them as a teen but… they’re my everything

1) theodore (theo) is a lonely antisocial art student who became divinely protected after his guardian angel fell in love with him. it’s unrequited bc he’s completely unaware. he’s kind of a depressed degenerate pervert but he has a good & pure & beautiful heart that nobody knows about except his angel. he’s from quebec, CA

2) friedrich (freddie) is an insane ivy league nepo baby who has been selling slivers of his soul to the devil in increments. his parents named him after nietzsche. he is very type-a about these deals and believes he will defeat the devil with the power of spreadsheets & cunt. he has ~70% of his soul left. he’s from acapulco, MX

they keep meeting by chance. they’re friends with benefits who ravage each others bodies in a manner that is genuinely psychologically concerning… whore4whore pairing. & sickeningly in love but that’s secret.

Man, I still remember participating in one of the many jjba zines that I took part in and how my piece was placed as the first page (for the second time) and how one of my mutuals/artists that I’ve always admired, hit me with the “oh… you’re on the front page again… 😅…” like man, that kind of killed me lmfao. Digitalised + coloured + redesigned version of my Suiren and Vaatu sketch from two days ago, as promised!!

Coming up with Suiren’s design was a very long process of trying and failing because after you’ve drawn 9+ different versions of one character, the creativity starts to run a little dry, but I’m actually really proud of this one, she looks absolutely adorable <3

(Also yeah I did mostly just scribble Vaatu’s pattern because who has the energy to draw the all out accurately. Not me, that’s who, I’m chronically tired. People who draw him on the regular have my utmost respect. He’s still a funky little guy though :D)

So I made this, based on that concept character I mentioned previously

Two versions because I wanted to be cool and do cool lighting and effects, but I also don’t know how to do that, and I wanted to show the original colors

I’m realizing now that I start a lot of my art posts like that. Should probably change that

But anyways yeah, this is the character. I don’t really have a name for her honestly. My brain says Apricot, but also she has no orange anywhere, so name probably doesn’t work. Also Electra has come to mind, but it doesn’t fit with Cherry and Plum’s names

I don’t really know what her character would be, or even what time period she’d be from. Maybe she could be part of some sort of circus troupe the party encounters and has to deal with? Like some sort of boss rush. Don’t know if they’d fit in the Past or Present. Present might have some interesting connotations though

Her hands were a pain in my ass, and I still don’t think I got them 100% right, but they’re good enough

It was while looking at the concept art today that I realized that I really like the old concept of the Demons having big hands. Like I get why they took out the tail and all, difficult to work with (and also that means Menos would have a tail, which just feels wrong to me), but why couldn’t they have big hands? Menos is already shaped completely different from the rest of the cast anyways

But yeah, she has big hands

One of her eyes is obscured solely because I didn’t feel like drawing it. Wish I had made the shadow look better though

I really do need to get better at figuring out effects. It looks pretty bad because I never do backgrounds or effects

But yeah, I think that’s about it. I gripe but I actually am pretty happy with how it all turned out, I’m just weak in some areas

Edit: oh yeah, I think I figured out why Cherry/Plum had circus concepts originally. Genova’s page in the artbook mentions annual circus games happening there, and given that plus us knowing the Demon Trio wanted to take revenge on humans, methinks part of the initial plan was to have them infiltrate the circus to cause mayhem and get in the capital. I don’t know for sure but it’s a thought

For my fanart specifically, I do not feel personally too strongly about it as long as they’re not claiming to be the artist or selling it. The stuff on this blog has always been stress-free ‘on the side’ art so I don’t mind the reposting w/ credit.

It’s best-case annoying and worst-case can be detrimental to many many other artists tho!!
