hello icha!! i finally got around to finishing the stranger haha,, by which i mean i just watched it today. was veryyyy excited for it as i really like the poster design for this one. anyways. this event starting w/ the sort of portrait format or whatever / that narration is like. god. threw me right back to autumn troupe. I kind of love that the storytelling format itself is so distinct for autumn! the moment I realized it was omi I started getting teary… like oh man oh man… omi…. And the connection with him taking photos! ahh!! now that I think about it… omi kind of seems a bit like early version tsumugi, huh? also I keep forgetting this man is a college student lol. suspension of disbelief I suppose. onto the play i think like. mankai should invest in a fainting courch for tsuzuru. i also went to watch the play and 1) im betting yuki had a hell of a time costume design wise like the vines on the body? such fun costuming wise and 2) the ethical implications of whatever this play has,,, fun fun. tsuzuru was clearly having some kind of thoughts. i love zeros design and am always up for a3 characters crossdressing bc 1) i think its fun and 2) the costume design. i also dearly wish this whole thing was animated bc I feel like it’d be o fun to see taichi act as zero. or at least I hope this event gets full voiced one day... moving on to the scene where omi adds soy sauce to the paella I know it’s just like haha homare funny so lets five him a lil bit but like everyone in autumn troupe making their comments on the paella and like homare just jumping in. homare autumn troupe besties. just thinking. also the way they just r like. no no no omi it’s fine if u made a mistake!! it’s ok! we like it (you) anyways <3 it’s got it’s own special taste. something something omi’s perfectly pleasant as he is now but even if he weren’t on his a-game and was dealing with all of the biker gang stuff they would love him just as hard. another thing that got me was omi telling banri that he’ll give him something sweet so juza will stop grinding his teeth in his sleep… guys… guys you’ll give him cavities…. mb omi is a college student after all lol.

anyways when i saw the actual costumes. appreciative of them, i like the lil circuit-esque detailing on banri’s outfit, and that sakyo and taichi (nine and zero) both share that like collar detail? its very symbolic and probably also literal but its a nice way to sort of signify their relation to each other visually! also sakyo just looks nice. seeing him without glasses is so great. whoever thought up the like two mole detail for him was doing gods work.

something that confused me was ryo mistaking juza for nachi for a split second? like. does juza… look similar to nachi? or was it just that ryo only heard juzas voice and made that mistake. if it’s appearance wise too. kumon nachi confirmed. I’m joking lol bc I feel like I would’ve heard at least something abt it in one of the like small conversation comments, plus that doesnt seem like itd fit summer troupes style and kumon is for sure the wrong age… but still.

i really like how for this event, the roles for taichi and omi were kinda reversed. and taichis just so like. idk. smiley. rly lifts ur spirits. its kind of nice how this event contrasts to that cg where taichi is crying on omi. I also think like. idk. considering the story of the stranger. wolf gives zero a sense of purpose and life and I think that zero helps wolf lose his apathy. it’s about “the stranger” and the ending makes him like… not a stranger, right? because he’s got a companion. in the same way, taichi brings omi out of his emotional isolation. the picture taking! also the stickers coming back… thats such a good setup! the found family of it all!!

when he was trying to work out zeros character as soon as taichi mentioned a sharp speaking style I KNEW it was Yuki… yuki would never be as honest as zero is though lol… to me i imagine she’s got a sort of juza internal monologue feel? anyways. the taichi yuki dynamic intrigues me. havent yet decided how I feel abt it but when I do… yes. sorry that I make literally no sense. I think it’s very obvious that yuki is my fav chara kind of? I’m just. hmmm it makes me think! I’ve been monologuing to myself abt the yuki and juza dynamic lately which, to my a3 knowledge so far, doesn’t exist, but its ok bc I’ll make it exist! uhhh anyways this event was very good i liked the pacing. i think it didnt drag too hard and it really properly honed in on just omi and taichi, which was quite nice. they really did a lot for just an event!

time to listen to the event song,,, ok so. ah. i rly enjoyed just for myself it was very much to my taste so. out of curiousity i was like ok lemme look up the composer / producer AND IT WAS YUYOYUPPE....... that guy is like!!!! one of my FAV producers ever!!!!!! i know him from like. his vocaloid days and god leia is still one of my fav songs to this day...! this knowledge gives me so much joy omg!!! like wow!! wowwww!!! like i knew yuyoyuppe was out there doing other stuff (i know he worked on a lot of babymetal music which is cool) but like idk. to suddenly encounter it like this. heheh.... its so nice! made me soooo happy. going to relisten to leia now haha

WAIT ONE MORE THING. i was like "haha let me look at other songs i remember liking a lot" which. for me was rakuen oasis and don't cry. anyways. rakuen oasis is ALSO by yuyoyuppe???? oh my god!!! oh my god... sigh. feel like im in heaven.

godd yeah The Stranger started so strongly and the idea to still incorporate portraits in his story was really something to make us cry!

Im glad you liked the costume and the play!!! yeah i love the designs and it is always a blast to see them this into it, and yeaaah Tsuzuru has thoughts huh. It'll get voiced sooner than later hopefully and there we'll see more in details :3c but also that's what made the seiyuu live so fun bc they perform the songs in play cosplay and replay a bit of the play everytime and it's *chief kiss*

yeah agreed on the costume they all look so cool! and nice catch on how those three seem linked like that with their costumes, Yuki (and the designers) does such a good job! and god yeah for Sakyo.. yeah. He has sucha good design dLKJFDF

aND DLKFJD yeah no Juza is supposed to look like Nachi physically, but mostly his face? like i think Nachi was had green hair? we see a sprite of him in a future story, and yeah, everything is in the eyebrows. so Kumon should be safe? Omi mentions he sees a lot of Nachi in Juza, and while it is mostly due to their passions i think, the fact they're also rough looking guy with a heart of gold must play a part as well. but yeah, he does look like Nachi a bit.

I feel like Taichi is really an emotional core of the troupe in the sense that is, he tends to catch on what others are feelings easily. And he uses it in the early chapters to ease off the tensions and stuff, but he was being held back by knowing he was deceiving them. So now that he's more free, he can be more of himself. but yeah i also love the contrast with how Omi was the one to help Taichi through his breakdown and guilt, and now it's the other way around, it's Taichi helping him through it. and the parallelism between the play and their dynamic is spot on imo! well said!!

and god yeah the sticker things made me cry sO HARD, and the pictures! and everything!! sobs it's such a sweet found family i'm going to cry :(

And! i love what you say about Yuki, Taichi and Juza on this one. I love that Taichi keeps bringing it back to "that childhood friend" and it's always like. so obvious who it is for us rip. But it can make you wonder if Yuki was more honest as a kiddo when Taichi knew him, though now he's clearly not. I love the mention of how Zero is more like Juza's internal speech (which, if anything is another argument about why you should let Juza wear a dress, cOWARD)

but also your mention of the Yuki and Juza thing, while i can't think of them having a dynamic per se yet, but i actually wrote a post during my reread about how i was baffled at the fact they treated Muku the same way?? like both of them tried to push Muku away because they were scared of how people would react if they say pure, sweet Muku was associated to them. And i find it fascinating because i guess those two are pretty aware of how the world see them, and it used to stop them from fully allowing them to be themselves.

I also find it relevant with the fact Yuki says in his personal song that while all of this way people judge him weight on him, he rather be himself, and "I want to love myself". Meanwhile we have Juza who's also aware of the way people judge him and it weight on him, and he wants to change himself from this person he hates, this self loathing - and in a way, he can grow in a way to be "someone" he may not hate, even on stage. I feel like those two have quite a bit in common in this way of being rejected by their peers in some sort of way.

I really want them to share some stuff at some point because there's really a groundwork on it all :(

But i'm really glad you liked that event!! agreed on the pacing and i do love what it brings to the characters! it really fleshes them out and have them move forward a little and it's pretty sweet.

deku vs kacchan part 2 is my favorite ep of the entire series actually. i’ve watch that ep so many times as well it’s just perfect. i got into them when i watched that episode actually! the voice acting god..... literally shivers. now that i think about it it might even be my favorite anime ep of all time help. i just love how bakugou lets it all out and we get to see that side of him.. the insecure scared child he tries to hide. god i could ramble about it forever idk just love it. The Legend of Asriel PART 6 | DEATH MOUNTAIN

it’s about as unpleasant as it sounds.

Frisk and Chara reach Death Mountain, and their first order of business is seeking out a blacksmith who can reforge their sword. There’s a bit of a famine going on right now so none of the Gorons are in working condition, but someone happens to direct Frisk to a Zora who lives just out of Goron City.

Following those directions, Frisk and Chara find an elderly turtle man sunning himself on the edge of a hot spring. Chara recognizes him and is confused as to why he’s here. Frisk knows not of their history with this guy though, and just walks up to ask if he can help reforge their sword.

Gerson laughs and says he’s not called the Hammer for nothing, he’s sure he can fix whatever toy sword they broke during target practice. Frisk removes the bundle from their backpack and shows him the shards of the Master Sword. Gerson rubs at his chin. “Hmm. Tricky one, that.”

Can you do it? Frisk writes in their notebook.

“The blade shouldn’t be too hard, I’ve got all the material I need here.“ Chara resists the urge to bring up the missing piece. “The hilt is harder, it’s made of a special material you can’t just melt down and cast into a new shape. I’d need to make another from scratch.“

Is it rare?

“Somewhat. As luck would have it, there is a deposit in the nearby mines, but those are flooded out.”

Frisk looks him up and down. ...Aren’t you like, a turtle? Surely a little water can’t stop you.

Gerson laughs heartily. “A little water is nothing, even for my old bones. Lava, however, poses quite a risk.“

Frisk makes a soft noise of understanding. If I got you a piece of this stuff, could you reforge it then?

“Of course!“ Gerson says. “I’d be delighted to, in fact. Not everyone can say they reforged the Legendary Blade of Evil’s Bane!“

Frisk beams, bundles the shards back up, and tells Gerson they’ll be back soon before hurrying off again. Chara trails them with a skeptical look. “Okay I appreciate the enthusiasm, but how exactly do you plan to get this weird rock? Do you have a supplier or something?”

Frisk slows to a stop, staring into the sky with a look of impending realization.

“...You didn’t think that far ahead, did you.“

Frisk most assuredly didn’t, but they won’t let that stop them! They do some more poking around, and eventually encounter a Hylian bard living it up in the town square, providing a brief moment of levity for the Gorons in this trying time.

Chara wonders how he can stand wearing such impractical clothing in this sweltering volcano, and Mettaton offhandedly mentions something about the laboratory near the peak before he registers that the person he just replied to is a ghost.

The dude doesn’t stick around, leaving Frisk and Chara with just the clue pointing towards the laboratory. It’s not much, but it’s all they’ve got, so they go to investigate.

The lab seems abandoned at first, all dark and messy and stuff. Frisk pokes around a bit, not giving it up as a lost cause just yet, and then Chara hears a weird scuffling noise. Frisk sees them tense, and they turn around just in time to see a flash of golden scales vanishing around a corner.

They give chase, and with a little help from Chara they track down the mysterious creature. A light flickers on, and Frisk finds themself face to face with a yellow Lizalfos in a lab coat.

For a moment, the two of them stare each other, down. Frisk isn’t quite sure what to make of the monster, and the Lizalfos looks kinda like a deer in the headlights. After a moment, though, Frisk’s hand inches towards their sword, and the Lizalfos rears back not to attack, but to frantically wave her hands defensively.

“Wait wait wait I can explain!“ she says, and it takes Chara a moment to dart into the right spot to interpret because they were not expecting a talking lizard. “Y-you see, I’m not a-actually a monster! I-I’m Dr. Alphys, and I’m t-t-totally a normal person, I’m j-just cursed to look like this! J-j-just c-cursed!“

Frisk raises an eyebrow, removing their hand from their sword and straightening up. They glance at Chara, who just shrugs, then dig out their notebook again. Do you need any help with that?

“N-n-no, it’s quite alright!“ Alphys says, looking a little sheepish. “I-I-I don’t get out much s-s-so it’s not like it matters how I look! I’ve got all my brains u-up here, s-so I’m fine!”

Frisk nods, relieved that they don’t have to add another layer to this fetch quest chain. I heard you can make heat-resistant clothing, they write.

“Where did you—“ Alphys starts, before pausing. “O-oh, I suppose I did give Mettaton some of my prototypes... how were they, by the way? That guy never gives me useful feedback.“

Frisk shrugs. He didn’t look bothered by the heat, but honestly it’s not that bad.

“Speak for yourself,“ Chara comments. “I’d be dying if I weren’t already dead. You’re just a weird desert gremlin.“

Frisk ignores them.

Alphys, unaware of the ghost floating next to her, nods thoughtfully. “Good, good, the tests I ran seemed positive but it’s good to have more data. Oh— w-were you interested in my fireproof clothing as well?“

Frisk nods. If it’s available, I’d like to buy a set.

“O-of course! Might I ask what you n-need it for?“

I wanna go into the mines but I hear they got flooded with lava.

Alphys pauses. “...Erm, a-and why do you want that?”

I need a special stone to reforge this legendary sword that got broken.

A long moment passes between them.

“...Can’t argue with that,“ Alphys says, then turns and walks away.

Frisk pays up and Alphys custom fits them with a nice heatproof tunic which I haven’t designed yet, but I probably will eventually and whenever that happens I’ll probably edit in a picture here.

But anyway now they’re decked out in sweet fashion and so they trek off to the mines, which are another dungeon. I don’t have nearly as much to say as I did for the Lost Caverns. It’s a bunch of mines and stuff, there’s magma. They get the Burnt Hammer, which is basically the equivalent of the burnt pan but like. It’s a hammer. And there’s some kinda a monster or possessed machinery or a monster possessing machinery, and after Frisk kicks its ass the mines go back to normal and everyone rejoices and they get a cool blue rock which happens to be timeshift stone but shhhhhhh it’s not that important.

And so they return triumphantly to Gerson’s forge, materials in tow, and ask him to reforge the Master Sword for them. Gerson laughs, declares that they truely do have the soul of a hero. Then he asks what kind of sword they’d like him to make it into, at which point they kinda stall out because they were kinda assuming it’d just be forged back into its original shape.

“Nonsense,“ Gerson says. “Trying to copy the original perfectly is a fool’s errand, and if it’s going to be reforged for a new wielder why not have them choose its shape?“

Frisk agrees with this reasoning, but they don’t know enough about swords to make a decision. Chara, however, does. They tap Frisk on the shoulder, an odd glint in their eye, and spell something out for Frisk to write in their notebook. They show it to Gerson, and he clearly knows what it means as he laughs again and gets right to work on that sword.

It takes time to make a sword, and so Frisk stays a couple nights in Gerson’s cottage. Chara keeps randomly snickering every time the Master Sword comes up in conversation, and they refuse to explain themself, so Frisk just resigns themself to finding out what they told Gerson to make when the sword is done.

After the better part of a week has passed with Frisk doing various sidequests for the Gorons, Gerson finally presents them with the reforged Master Sword.

Frisk unwraps it from the cloth covering carefully, examining the sheath before tugging it free to look at the blade. It’s beautifully crafted, the hilt carved into something reminiscent of a bird while the blade is razor sharp. They can’t help but admire the craftsmanship, and even Chara pauses to ooh and aah a little before they collapse into another fit of giggles.

Gerson joins Chara in laughing. “I like your style,” he tells them, as he follows them to the door. “Remember me after you’ve saved the world, alright, kid?”

Frisk nods, slinging the Master Knife over their back, and slaps Chara on the shoulder on the way out to get them to stop laughing already, it’s not that funny.

(It’s absolutely that funny, Chara insists inside their own head. God they love knives.)

first of all: the fact that Green canonically has a rivals to best friends arc with Red fills me with so much joy and YES they are on their alolan honeymoon you cannot convince me otherwise

okay like. gen 1 Green just perfectly encompasses what it’s like to be a ten year old in a way? like ofc he’s written like a kid bc he is a kid, but i feel like the writing on him just feels so genuine as compared to some of the other 10 yr old rivals you get in other regions. even though he’s kinda a brat at the start, he kinda eases up a bit as you go along your journey and starts giving you progressively nicer/more praise-y end lines when you beat him (going from “i picked the wrong pokémon!” to “so, you are ready for boss rocket!”) but still retains this childlike rivalry and competitiveness and i love that about him

and like. fucking beating him at the Indigo League still completely breaks my heart because even after he did become the champion at age 10 the first thing that happens is you beat him and Prof Oak just yells at him for being bad at things and like. ow. 

this is why i headcanon that Red actually took awhile longer to get to Green like please. please give my boy a chance to be happy and proud

also Red was caught up with Team Rocket anyway so i imagine he must’ve fallen a little behind at some point? anyway

the development on him across regions is so choice!!! he’s so much more mellow and even kinda melancholic when you find him in gsc/hgss, like he’s calmed down over a few years and he obviously misses Red so much but like, it’s clear that Red is kinda the reason Green does settle down and he seems to have worked on his character and become a nicer person - and he still has that sassy flair to him! he’s just got that gradual slope from asshole rival to kinda aloof gym leader to friendly/sassy battle legend and aaaaa i love my boy so MUCH

also huge point: he’s so fucking driven??? he’s got the most drive and the most passion for battles/pokémon in general out of all the rivals i feel. he’s only closely matched by Silver, but Silver seems to be more aggressive than passionate, and somewhat out of necessity too (like, Giovanni abandoned him what was he to do), whereas Green just really like. he genuinely just cares so much about battles and about pokémon in general! he literally calls you in hgss and just rants about how many different kinds of pokémon there are in the world!!!

also in Alola he’s like???? just so sweet?????? he congratulates you and is like hey you’re really strong lets battle like!!!!!!!!! supportive boy!!!!! he has come so far over so many generations and i cry

also on Four Island when you play frlg he legitimately says “Be smelling ya!” when he leaves and how do you not love this idiot

i mean. while i get that you beat Green right after he becomes the champion in the kanto games i feel like there should’ve been more pomp and circumstance for him and i’ll never forgive gamefreak for giving this boy his dream, then making you rip it away from him, and then watching his own gramps yell at him for fucking up like. again it’s that drive, i get why Red keeps such good pace w Green but i just feel like he worked so hard and he deserved so much better than that

favorite thing about them

by now i guess you know im a sucker for character development, but i think they did a really good job with her!! i feel like her turn is a bit more in moments than it is with Green, who gradually evolves (lol) over the course of Kanto/all the gens overall. you see more discrete moments where Lillie starts to shift and gain confidence in herself and i am so proud of her ???? like the way she gets excited when she sees Olivia doin’ her z-move stuff, she starts buying her own clothes and getting ahead of you, etc etc

and like, she still has moments where she’s scared, there’s still some fundamental Lillie in there yknow? you don’t lose any of that softness that characterizes Lillie, she just like… she gets better, she develops without losing her Lillie vibe and i love that abt her. she overcomes a lot of the shit she had to deal with when she was stuck with Lusamine, she stands up to Lusamine eventually, and ghfdkjsg gah she’s a sweet gorl i love and appreciate her

also like. the writing on her backstory is so subtle in-universe. like yeah she literally looks like Lusamine’s daughter and you see her in the opening cutscene leaving Aether, but as the protagonist - like as Selene lets say, there’s little hints about where Lillie came from, and if you suspend your disbelief and put yourself in the pc’s shoes, there’s subtly to her character arc that i like 

also like. when she changes her outfit and starts being more protagonist-y, like more confident and kinda bubbly instead of shy??? love that shit it’s so cute can i have custody of this child pls

i like. sometimes feel like she’s too soft of a character for me to really get into? like i love her and Hau, they’re sweet good friends, but i tend to personally gravitate towards characters that create a little more tension (ie Green and N)

(though on that note, Hau can be kinda savage. he just calls Faba out and sarcastically calls Gladion “a ray of sunshine” at some point i think?? Lillie is just very tender and i will support her forever, but i think that also makes her almost too soft to keep me fixated on her yknow. it’s not even a flaw in her character but just not something i fawn over as much)

Reo wasn’t much help, he only restated the things Haruto already knew.

“Hey, Kanade-san!”  His attention was brought to small group of four boys in his class.

‘Eh?’ He was shocked. That only happened yesterday after school, how could they have known this quickly?! Who could of told except Hinamori or one of the Guardians themselves?!

Somehow they have turned his selfish reason of not wanting to be noticed at school, into a completely selfless reason. How did they come to that conclusion?

“I wouldn’t blame you, it’s the Guardians’ after all.”

“Nothing wrong with being selfish, you would get so many privileges.”

“And everlasting popularity!”

He wasn’t expecting that. He honestly thought they would of been upset if he had, but they seemed like they would of been genuinely happy for him.

“Uh, that’s very kind of you guys."

*BING BONG BANG BONG* *Also Timeskip*

It was the end of the day, and Haruto was walking out of school with Hinamori. He looked at Hinamori who was gazing longingly at a group of three girls. They had plans to go to a cute shop, but didn’t want to invite her because it didn’t fit her style.

“Are you alright Hinamori-chan?” Haruto asked leaning his torso a little closer to catch her attention.

“Yes.” She had a strained look on her face. Obviously she wasn’t alright.

‘Maybe I could chara change…’

“Amu-chan!” Haruto flinched as Fujisaki popped out of seemingly nowhere. Though Hinamori actually let out a shriek before falling to the floor.

“Ah, so cute. You really are a scaredy cat aren’t you?” Fujisaki asked innocently, standing over Hinamori’s shaken form.

“Fujisaki-san, please don’t do that...It’s bad for my heart.” Haruto complained, holding his chest and letting out a sigh.

“I’m sorry, both of your reactions are just too cute.” She giggled.

“W-What do you want?” HInamori asked, still shaking on the ground.

“I thought we could hang out and become best friends!” She exclaimed bluntly. This caught Haruto’s attention. A friend? A best friend!? The only friend he really has is Hinamori, so this could be a good opportunity.

“N-No matter what you say, this is just a plot to get us to join the Guardians, isn’t it?” Hinamori looked frazzled. She was shaking her hands at Fujisaki, her eyes actually spinning.

“Oh, you knew?”

It was as if a stone had fallen from the sky and hit him on the head. She didn’t actually want to be friends? He let out a sad sigh, he should of known.

“I was hoping I didn’t.” Hinamori shuffled a bit from her spot on the ground.

“Nadeshiko, I suppose we’ll have to…” Temari had mumbled to her partner.

“Right, then. Secret Amu-chan Weapon: A picture of Hotori-kun dozing off. And for Haruto-kun, a picture of Souma-kun after a soccer game.” She pulled out two pictures from her pocket. One was of the prince resting his head on the back of his hand. His eyes were shut and face was relaxed. It was really cute, it kind of made Haruto blush. But the second picture made him blush harder, not only was it a good picture, but she assumed he liked Souma! The second picture was of Souma smiling at the field after his soccer game, his face was covered in sweat, and he was wiping it off with a towel.

Hinamori let out a surprised gasp, it seemed Fujisaki had successfully chipped at Hinamori’s defense.

“Hold on! Why are you showing me that?” HInamori had gotten in Fujisaki’s face and yelled.

“Y-Yeah, I don’t like Souma-san! Why is that your secret weapon!?” Haruto’s face up to his ears were beet red. Having a crush on Souma!? He’s never even thought of it. Ok maybe a little, but it was only for a little bit. And he was over it now!

“Oh? Amu-chan, you do like Hotori-kun, don’t you? I have a lot of others. Some were taken during his private time, others are from his personal profile. And Haruto-kun, weren’t those looks you you two were sending each other at the ceremony the looks of love? Don’t worry, I have more of Souma-kun as well. Or if you’d like Hotori’s, I can always make copies.” Haruto turned even redder, if possible.

‘She saw those!? They weren’t looks of love! They were looks of fear and anxiety! Even if I liked them, having their pictures is creepy.’ He had almost yelled it out, but was barely able not to. She was way too blunt about this topic!

“And if you join the Guardians, you’ll get them all.”

“...Should I?” Hinamori’s resolve was weakened, subconsciously reaching for the picture of Hotori.

Haruto grasped her hands and pulled her away, “No Hinamori-chan! Don’t give in!”

“Have some dignity!” Miki yelled with him.

“They’re right! Don’t think i’m so low i’d get suckered by a bribe!” Escaping her trance, Hinamori jumped back and gave a determined face towards the Queens Chair.

“Yeah, we’re not that low!” Ran added.

Miki floated next to the two of them, and gave a sarcastic remark, “Even though she was about to give in.”

“I could never accept such pictures! I mean, i’m not even friends with Souma-san OR Hotori-san.” Haruto gave his own comment, before realising something.

“So if you guys were friends, you would of accepted them?”

“N-N-No!”

Fujisaki and her chara giggled, “You’re nice people.” She had stepped forward with a close eyed grin, “I guess I should stop playing tricks and just wish you both the best in love.”

“Listen, why do you keep talking about him? And we’re not in love!” Haruto nodded vigorously behind her.

“The Guardians will be going to his house tomorrow. Why don’t you guys come with us?”

“B-But...I can't impose like that all of a sudden.” Hinamori had retreated into her shell, a hard look on her face and her arms crossed.

“Um, I don’t think I can. My sister wants to do something with me.”

“Maybe you can come after then, Haruto-kun? This is a rare opportunity you two. It will be the perfect chance for you to get ahead of your rivals.”

“Y-You have a point. That might work out.” Hinamori gave in.

“I don’t have anyone to compete for, but it could be fun. I-I’ll try and talk to my sister about it.”

“Their getting lured in. Their getting lured in.” Reo, Ran, and Miki harmonized.

“If you bring something you’ve made yourself, I’m sure it’ll score a lot of points.” Fujisaki raised her finger to add on to her point.

“Something I’ve made?” Hinamori asked. “I could never. I’m terrible at Home Ec stuff. Really bad.” Hinamori came up with an excuse.

“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you. What about you Haruto-kun?”

“I-I know some things I could make. But I think I’ll just help you guys.” Haruto’s mom was the queen of the kitchen, so he knows a thing or two.

“Great! So it’s settled. Meet me back here in thirty minutes.” Fujisaki ran out the gates, assumingly towards her home.

“W-Wait.” Hinamori quietly called out, looking at Fujisaki’s retreating form in shock.

“Well I guess i’ll see you then.” Haruto said quietly, walking out as well.

*Skip to home*

“My baby brother is hanging out with friends!?”

Haruto flinched at the volume of his sisters voice. Though he understands why. He’s never really hung out with anyone before.

“You have to let me dress you for the occasion!”

Before letting him respond, she dragged upstairs, and into her room. She proceeded through clothes around the room, mumbling things like; “No” “Maybe” “This?” before she let out a loud “Aha!” Etsuko chucked an outfit towards him, which he barely caught.

He walked into the bathroom and tried on the outfit she chose. Fully dressed, he looks into the mirror. He was wearing a white undershirt, with a black, deep v-neck over it. He had a brown belt that was crooked, over some magenta pants and black boots. He also had a light blue jacket with white polka dots on it.

Haruto walked out to show his sister, who squealed in response.

“You look so cute! Now get going, you can’t be late! I didn’t dress you for nothing!” She pushed him lightly to the stairs. He let out a sigh and followed her orders.

Walking to the front door, “I’m going out!”

He heard his mom reply, “Be safe!” As he shut the door.

*BACK TO SCHOOOOL*

Haruto stood next to a tense Hinamori, both staring at a smiling Fujisaki, who was adorned in a purple kimono with a lavenderish apron on top.

“Are you sure we can just come in here?” Hinamori asked.

“I don’t think they would appreciate us dirtying their stuff.” Haruto added.

Fujisaki just shrugged it off with a smile, “Oh, it’s fine. I am a Guardian, after all.”

“Speaking all high and mighty…” Hinamori mumbled to Haruto.

“What an abuse of power…” He replied.

Soon they stood in front of some cooking supplies laid out on a counter..

“Let’s get started.” Fujisaki turns to them with a close eyed smile, “We’ll be making a fruit tart, okay?”

“Why? You’re kind of making all the decisions here.”

“I’m assuming Hotori-san likes them?” Haruto guessed.

“Bingo. Hotori-kun loves fruit tarts.”

“The prince? In that case..” Hinamori looked down with blush, fidgeting with her hands.

“Oh, and it’s better if you don’t call him Prince.” Fujisaki leaned in real quick, before backing up again.

‘Don’t say Prince...A trigger word maybe? I mean, probably. I have one too after all.’ Haruto thought to himself. He himself had one, a word that would immediately set off a chara change. It was the word “Cool.” Don’t ask.

“First, let’s beat the butter.” Fujisaki ordered.

Fujisaki and Haruto watched over Hinamori’s shoulder, instructing and complimenting her on her stirring.

“Yeah, that looks good.” Fujisaki said.

“Relax a little more.” Haruto hinted.

They started cracking eggs, Haruto watching in amusement as Hinamori and Ran looked at it in confusion as she cracked it. Then they weighed the flour, rolled the dough out, and finally put it in the oven. The three sat down in front of it, staring in joy at their creation.

*DING ALSO TIMESKIP*

“It’s done!” Hinamori yelled in glee. She held the hot pan with the tart on it in her hands, with the oven mits of course.

“It baked well.” Fujisaki complimented, smiling a close eyed smile.

“Yeah, it’s gonna taste great.” Haruto added.

“Now, all that’s left is to make the cream filling.”

“Hinamori, you go ahead and get started on the rest. Kanade, if you would come with me?”

“Of course.” He walked alongside her as they walked out.

“Where are you going?” Hinamori asked curiously.

“We’re getting the fruit for the garnish.” She said with a wink.

Haruto noticed something. ‘Fujisaki winks a lot, doesn’t she.’

Haruto closed the door behind them as they walked towards wherever to get the fruits. Now that he was alone with her, he didn’t really know what to say.

“You’re dressed quite stylishly for such a simple occasion.” Fujisaki commented.

“I could say the same.” He shot back, causing her to giggle.

“My sister wants to be a fashion designer, so she uses me as model for her ideas.”

“That must be fun. I can tell she’s talented, so you must get to wear really nice clothes.”

“I tend to not wear a lot of what she makes, since their really bold for someone like me. This is actually why I might not be able to make it tomorrow, she wants to make something new. If I do make it, I’ll have to get there in the clothes she made.” Haruto was really impressed with himself. He was having a full out, casual conversation with someone! Maybe he was the type of person who warmed up to others easily? It happened with Hinamori too…

“I hope you can come, it’ll be more fun with you there. Plus, I’d like to see you dressed up. I bet you'd look cute.” Fujisaki  did her signature giggle, covering her mouth with the sleeve of her kimono.

That one comment turned Haruto completely red. He’s used to getting compliments, he actually gets them a lot. But never face to face. Whatever confidence he had with her, just shattered entirely.

“Ah. we’re here. It’ll be just a moment.” She opened a door and walked in, coming out a few seconds later. She was carrying a simple platter of fruits. “Let's get going, I think Amu-chan would appreciate our being there.”

With a nod he followed her.

“Oh, by the way Kanade-kun. Feel free to call me Nadeshiko.” She looked at him with a warm smile.”

A small blush rose to his cheeks, “T-Then feel free to call me Haruto.” She gave a close eyed smile and faced forwards again. They began to walk in a peaceful quiet, before a loud bang snapped them out of it.

They ran forward, and slid open the door. “Amu-chan, are you okay?/Hinamori-chan, is everything alright?”

In front of them, the cat boy from last time had her pinned to the floor, staring creepily into her eyes. Hinamori jumped up, and squabbled over to them, letting out a “Yeah.”  She held her face in her hands, which was painted in a pink hue.

“Temari, character change!”

“Right away!” Temari held a long strand that had three pink flowers attached to it. With a “Chin, Ton, Shan!” Flowers appeared in Fujisa-Nadeshiko’s hair.

Haruto let out a shriek and jumped back as she let out a loud war cry, now wielding a spear.

“What!? Nadeshiko-san changes into that kind of character?!” Hinamori basically yelled his thoughts.

Nadeshiko began to slash furiously at Tsukiyomi-san, letting out shouts as she did it. He dodged each attempt. In such a dodge, he landed on the counter and bounced off it, knocking the tray down.

“Amu-chan, let’s character change, too!” Ran yelled in a panic.

“What should we do? What should we do?” Miki yelled, also in a panic.

As Haruto was about to yell to Reo, something caught his attention. A green egg rolled across the floor and floated upwards.

“Don’t panic. Don’t panic.” It said reassuringly.  With a pop, a small girl in a green maid dress and a pastel green apron came out. She had green slippers, with ribbons that reached her knees. She had a pastel green hat, and on it was a large green club.

She twirled, and with two blinks and a wink she said, “Leave this to Su!”

She floated up to them.

“Su?” Hinamori questioned.

“Let’s go, Amu-chan. Let’s end this, quick and fluffy!” She exclaimed.

“Chip!” Hinamori’s clip turned into a club.

“Syrup!”  A large bowl filled with, presumably, some sort of cream or mixing.

“Whip!” The bowl tipped over, letting the insides spill outwards. This caught Tsukiyomi’s and Nadeshiko’s attention, who both jumped out of harm's way. The cream broke down the doors and flooded the halls, dragging a screaming Hinamori and Haruto, along with their charas, along with.

“I-I’m safe.” Hinamori said, covered in the whip cream.

“I feel bad for the janitor…” Haruto commented, getting up from his back and rubbing his head.

“That was really close.” The newly introduced Su said.

They looked up at the older boy hovering over them, “So the third one’s not the Embryo either.”

Hinamori looked at him in confusion, “The Embryo again? What is it?”

Their attention was drawn away from a distressed call from Ran.

“The tart…” Ran was hovering over a completely shattered tart. Reo was next to her, looking at it with a sad look.

“This is terrible.” Nadeshiko said, picking a piece up off the floor. Haruto picked the pan off the floor and put it on the counter, too shocked to say anything.

“We just finished making it, too.” Miki said.

Hinamori crouched down next to them, and with a wavering voice said, “It’s fine. I’m not the type who makes desserts in the first place. This is better than the shame i’d feel over giving him something that sucked. So really, nothing’s wrong.” Tears started to fall from her eyes, hitting the floor.

“Amu-chan, let’s remake it.” Nadeshiko suggested.

“No, it’s okay. We don’t have enough ingredients to make more.” She wiped the tears from her eyes.

“Amu-chan, it’s all right.” Su caught their attention, “With only this much dough left, we might not be able to make a tart, but we can make something else.”

“Maybe cookies?” Haruto suggested, as Nadeshiko gave a smile towards her chara.

“That’s perfect! Character change!” Hinamori’s clip turned to a club. Like magic, she was off. Tools and ingredients flew as she worked like a professional. In a matter of time, the cookies were done and out of the oven.

“The cookies are done!” Su let out a cheer.

“We might not have made a tart…” Miki started.

“But we made cookies!” Ran finished.

“Thank goodness.” Haruto said.

“Amu-chan, you’re great.” Nadeshiko complimented with a close eyed smile. Su floated downwards in front of the cookies, “Just leave it to me!” Before she stood on the plate holding them. They all stared in shock as the cookies flew through the air. Luckily, Hinamori held out her apron and caught them all before they could hit the floor.

*Slepy tiem*

It was the next day and Haruto was standing in his sisters room. She had him dressed in a black turtleneck, tucked into waist high black pants. For the finishing touch he has some ankle boots. Luckily, this was tamer than usual.(The left)

“Alright, you’re free. Thanks bud!” Haruto sped walked out of her room and down the stairs. Luckily Hinamori had the cookies so he didn’t have to worry about bringing anything. Reo followed him out the door as he yelled a quick, “I’m leaving!”

“Haruto, we should character change!” Reo suggested, bumping his fists in excitement.

“Alright, just so we’re not any later.” A black choker appeared on his neck, with a crescent moon trinket attached. Two purple, diamond shaped ribbons appeared on his head. He started sprinting full speed towards his destination. He would jump from buildings, but that would attract too much attention.

As he got closer to his destination, he saw three figures ahead. Nadeshiko, Souma, and Yuiki were there talking to each. The ribbons and choker disappeared as Haruto panted, holding his knees to keep himself up.

“Ah, Haruto-kun.” Nadeshiko was the first to notice his exhausted presence. He looked up at them with a dry smile, still catching his breath.

“Hiya Haruto-kun!”

“Sup.” Yuiki and Souma greeted him.

“Ooh, Haruto-kun you look so stylish!” Yuiki had started fawning over how he looked in his clothes.

“R-Really? Thanks Yuiki-san…” He blushed at the attention she was giving him.

“Eh!?” She let out a loud whine, pouting at Haruto, “Just call me Yaya! Ya-ya!”

“Oh, um, alright.” And like that Yaya had a large smile painted on her face.

“Yeah, we’re all friends here. You can call me Kukai.” Kukai gave a big smile and a thumbs up.

“Shall we be on our way?” Nadeshiko suggested, walking off. The three of them followed after her, assumedly towards Hotori’s house. Haruto walked behind them with a small smile on his face. ‘So this is what it’s like to have friends’

As they got closer to a fairly large house, they heard something. It sounded like Hotori. “...A Prince!” He had yelled, thought he couldn’t hear the rest of the sentence. The three Guardians gave each other a look and ran.  Haruto followed and was greeted with the sigh of a cackling Hotori and a shell shocked Hinamori.

“We haven’t seen the King in a while.” Kukai put his hands on his hips and looked at the scene with a grin.

“What’s going on!?” Hinamori ran up to them in a frenzy.

“I told you not to call him a prince.” Nadeshiko teased.

“When did you say that?!”

“When he gets like this, no one can touch him! Yay!” Yaya was over the moon at this scenario.

“So this is Hotori-san’s character change, huh?” Haruto mumbled to himself.

“That’s freaking hilarious!” His chara was having a laughing fit.

Hotori turned dramatically towards them. “Mark my words, commoners! I am no weak prince!” He pointed at them, “I am the King!”

“Does that mean his dream is…” Haruto started, cut off by Hinamori. “It can’t be…”

“That’s right! World domination!” With a tight fist, he crushed Hinamori’s expectations. Haruto could actually see an image of Hotori laughing with glowing red eyes and Hinamori floating to the abyss in shock. Not really, of course.

“You’re evil, Tadase-kun.” She murmured.

“It’s okay, Amu-chan. He’ll turn back to normal soon.” Nadeshiko tied to reassure her, but it didn’t really help much.

“Wait, so all of you have been working to further his ambitions?” She asked in shock.

“Of course! We’ve all been searching for the Embryo together!” Yaya shouted in glee.

“W-Why?”

“Because it’s something to do!” They all replied in unison.

“This is...a monarch and his generals, truly…” Haruto said, staring at them in disbelief.

“So ridiculous.” Hinamori was entering further into shock.

Hotori was still laughing loudly in the background. Though it wasn’t long before the change wore off, and he crouched down away from them in a state of embarrassment.

“Tadase-kun.” Hinamori called out.

“Whenever I character change, I get like that. You must be shocked, Hinamori-san.”

Obviously lying, Hinamori tried to reassure him, “T-That’s not true at all , pri… I mean, Tadase-kun.”

“Before, I wasn’t fit to hold the King’s Chair at all.”

“That’s right. Tadase’s actually very shy.” Yaya whispered to them.

“He really struggled with talking in front of big crowds.” Nadeshiko added.

‘That’s...really surprising, actually.’ Haruto thought to himself.

“Exactly, and that why I wished to become stronger. I wished to become someone else.”

Haruto knew what that was like. That’s why most, if not all, chara’s are born. He wished to become someone different as well, and not too long after, Reo was born.

“And then my Guardian Egg was born.” He continued his story.

“I become who Tadase would like to be. That’s what Guardian Characters are.” Kiseki commented.

“If Tadase wants to be like you, i’m concerned.” Reo teased the tiny king.

“What did you say!?” Kiseki began to chase Reo, who flew away laughing.

“So then, all of you…” Hinamori faced them.

Haruto looked joyfully at Reo who was still being chased by Kiseki.

“How long are you going to stay depressed? Have some willpower, you greenhorn king.” Kukai had wrapped his arm around Hotori.

“I-I’m not sure if it makes you feel better, but my character change is kind of like that. It’s really embarrassing.” Haruto had tried to make Hotori feel better. He wasn’t expecting them to be so similar. Shy, with loud and outgoing charas.

“You too, Kanade-san?” Hotori looked up at him with hopeful eyes. Haruto’s heart skipped a beat, Hotori looked too cute.

“U-Uh yeah, I’d show you but it’s really too embarrassing…” This actually seemed to be helpful, as Hotori stood up with a small smile.

“Seriously, you always amaze me.” Kukai teased.

“Jeez.” Is all he said.

Hinamori walking up to them got their attention. She stiffly held the bag of cookies they made towards him, “U-Um...These...If you’d like.”

Hotori accepted them with a grateful smile. Haruto went to stand by Nadeshiko who watched Hinamori proudly.

“They smell like cookies!” Yaya jumped on Hinamori’s back and started shaking her, “I want some, too!”

“Cut it out, Yaya-chan.” Nadeshiko scolded.

“Hinamori made them, she can decide who she does and doesn’t give them too.” Haruto told the whining fourth grader.

“Let’s all have some.” Hotori caught their attention, hoping to attain peace. He gave them all a close eyed smile.

“Good idea.” Hinamori smiled.

“Yay! Thanks, Amu-chi!” Yelled in delight.

“But Yaya can only have three.” She joked. Yaya let out a noise and they all laughed. For once in a very long time, Haruto was overjoyed. He never thought a day like this would come. A day where he’d hang out with friends. ‘How lucky!’ He thought as he stared at the laughing group with a smile.

*Timeskip*

“That’s all for last week.” Hotori’s voice rang through the speakers. Everyone was sat down for another assembly in the auditorium.

“Continuing on, and although this may be unusual, we’ll be announcing two new Guardian members.” Whispers rang through the crowd. Everyone was looking at each other in confusion. Haruto felt a pang of fear in his chest. ‘They wouldn’t.’

“The new Guardian members, in other words, the fifth and sixth Guardian, is...The Red Joker: Hinamori Amu! The Black Joker: Kanade Haruto!” Haruto’s face went blank at the announcement. Everyone started talking excitedly.

“The J-Joker? What the heck is that?!“

SERVERTALE Chapter 13: A change of plans

As Frisk starts walking, her phone starts buzzing within seconds. ALPHYS updated status. well i know she’s unbeatable, i’ll ask her abt it later ^. ^ ALPHYS updated status. for now i gotta call up the human and guide them =^. ^= Frisk: Did she forget that i can read her posts? Chara: Probably. Frisk walks over a some type of transferring platform. hen she crosses it, she gets another message. ALPHYS updated status. gonna call them in a minute!! =^. ^= Frisk finds a save point and uses it. The wooshing sound of steam and cogs... it fills you with determination 01000110 01101001 01101100 01100101 00100000 01110011 01100001 01110110 01100101 01100100  The lava below is brightening up the whole area. The temperature is warm, but somehow not too warm.  ALPHYS updated status. I HATE USING THE PHONE I DON’T WANT TO DO THIS Chara: Yup, she has no idea. Frisk reaches the end of the path here there is a cliff and some sort of a steam platform. Chara: What do we do now? Frisk thinks for a second before getting an idea. Frisk: I think i have a plan. Chara: What is it? Frisk points to the vent that’s releasing a lot of steam. Chara: Oh no. no no no no. Don’t you dare jump on that thing. Frisk jumps on the platform anyway, sending her high up in the air. Chara: FRISK! Frisk safely lands on the other side. her hair is a little bit messy from all the wind of the steam rushing through it. Chara: Do you have a death wish or something? Frisk: Oh look who’s talking. Chara: Fair enough. Frisk: Hey Chara. Chara: What. Frisk points to more vents in front, having the biggest grin. Frisk: There are more. Chara: Oh hell no. Frisk gets a running start and launches herself above the gap. When she lands, her phone buzzes again. ALPHYS updated status. omg ive had my claw over the last digit for 5 minutes omg i’m just gonna do it im just gonna call!!!! Chara: I guess that’s gonna take a while. Frisk launches herself over another gap and her phone rings Chara: Or not. Frisk tries to answer, but the caller hung up before she could do it. Chara: Yup, I was right. Frisk walks to the next room. There’s an orange laser blocking the path. Frisk: Where should we go now? Chara: I think that laser is safe to go through. Frisk: Since when are lasers safe? Chara: As much as I remember, orange lasers don’t hurt you while you are moving. Frisk: Than what’s the point of this one. Chara: It is placed here so that monsters don’t stay too long on the pipes, after all, they weren’t built for walking on them. Frisk: Oh, ok. Frisk’s phone starts ringing again, but this time, she succeeds to answer the call. Alphys: Uhh! H-hi, so, the blue lasers... Uhh! I mean, Alphys here! Hi! The blue lasers won’t hurt you if you don’t move! O-orange ones, um... Y-you have to be moving and they... Um, they won’t, um... Move through those ones! ...Uhh, bye! ALPHYS updated status. OMG I DID IT!!! claws haven’t shook like that since undyne called me to ask about the weather... v. v Chara: How is she so fast? Frisk: I have no idea. Frisk runs through the orange lasers and stops after them to observe the movement of the blue laser. Her phone buzzes again. ALPHYS updated status. WAIT THERE’S NO WEATHER DOWN HERE WHY DID SHE CALL ME Frisk snickers. She has memorized the speed of the lasers and gets ready to go through it. Frisk runs half way, before stopping so that the laser can safely go through her, before continuing to run through the orange one. She does the same thing with the rest of the lasers and reaches the end of that part. There is a giant tube construct with a button on it next to her. Frisk: Should I press it? Chara: Wait, just give me a moment. Chara opens the console and scans the switch. She sees the wires leading to all the lasers. Chara: You can press it. Frisk: Ok. Frisk presses the switch and it turns off all the lasers. They enter the next room and her phone buzzes again.  ALPHYS updated status. Oh My God i Forgot to Tell HEr Where To Go Frisk: I don’t think that’s gonna be a problem. Chara: You’re right, considering the fact that there is only one way we can go. ALPHYS posted a picture. CUte PIC OF ME RIGHT NOW ^. ^ It’s a photo of a garbage can with several pink, glittery filters over it. Frisk: Well, at least the trash can does look cute. Frisk jumps over another gap using the steam vent, before Alphys calls her again. Alphys: A-A-A Alphys here! Th... the northern door will stay locked until you... S-solve the puzzles on the right and left! I... I think you sh-should g-g-go to the right first!  Alphys hangs up. Frisk follows the advice and uses the steam vent to jump on the right side. ALPHYS updated status. wonder if it would be unfun if i explained the puzzle... Frisk enters the room. When she takes a look at the puzzle, she realizes what she needs to do. She moves one of the cubes to the side and shoots the other cube and the button with the two bullets she had. Frisk exits the room and goes to the left side. On the left side, she finds a blue laser that isn’t moving. Chara: Great. How are we supposed to get past that? Just in the right time, Frisk’s phone starts ringing. Alphys: Alphys! Here! Th-that blue laser seems totally impassable! B-b-but! As the Royal Scientist, I h-have some tricks up my sleeve! I’ll h-hack into th-the Hotland laser and take it out! Alphys hangs up. Seconds later, the laser shuts down. Frisk enteres the room and solve the puzzle after a few attempts. She comes back out and goes to the big metal door. They slowly open, revealing the next area. There are a lot of small pillars with vents on them. Chara: Be careful. Frisk: Don’t worry, I’ve got the hang of this. Frisk easily jumps from one pillar to another, landing on the next part of the room. The floor is spotty, like a floor of a house would look. The next area is getting darker as she keeps walking. Frisk uses her glow stick to give her more light. She notices that the room looks like a kitchen. Suddenly, she hears Mettaton whispering. MTT: HUMAN. I HAD A PLAN OF CREATING A DEATH TRAP FOR YOU, BUT ALPHYS FAILED TO INFORM ME OF YOUR AGE. IT IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE OF ME TO ATTACK AN INNOCENT YOUNG CHILD, BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON. I WILL PRETEND TRYING TO KILL YOU AND I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IF YOU WOULD PLAY ALONG. IS THAT OKAY WITH YOU SWEETIE? Frisk: I’ll manage. MTT: IN THAT CASE, LET THE SHOW BEGIN!!! Frisk takes a few more steps forward and the room is completely dark now. Alphys calls. Alphys: H-hey, it’s kind of dark in there, isn’t it? Don’t worry! I’ll hack into the light system and brighten it up! The lights turn back on, showing the simple kitchen setup. Alphys realizes that this is one of Mettaton’s rooms Alphys: Oh no. Mettaton gets up from the table he was hiding behind. He is wearing a chef hat. MTT: OHHHH YES!!! WELCOME BEAUTIES, TO THE UNDERGROUND’S PREMIER COOKING SHOW!!!  A projector shows a screen that says “Cooking with a Killer Robot” on the wall. MTT: PRE-HEAT YOUR OVENS, BECAUSE WE’VE GOT A VERY SPECIAL RECIPY FOR YOU TODAY! WE’RE GOING TO BE MAKING... A CAKE! MY LOVELY ASSISTANT HERE WILL GATHER THE INGREDIENTS. EVERYONE GIVE THEM A  BIG HAND! Confetti starts falling around frisk and clapping can be heard from the audience... or the speakers. Frisk isn’t really sure. MTT: WE’LL NEED SUGAR, MILK, AND EGGS. GO FOR IT, SWEETHEART! Frisk takes all of the ingredients and brings them to the table. MTT: PERFECT! GREAT JOB, BEAUTIFUL! WE’VE GOT ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS WE NEED TO BAKE THE CAKE. MILK... SUGAR... EGGS...  ...OH MY! WAIT A MAGNIFICENT MOMENT! HOW COULD I FORGET!!! WE’RE MISSING THE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT! Mettaton’s screen turns completely red as he picks up a chainsaw. Chara: Well he likes being dramatic. MTT: A HUMAN SOUL!!!! Mettaton slowly starts moving towards Frisk, while she acts like she’s scared. When Mettaton gets close to Frisk, Alphys calls Mettaton. MTT: HELLO...? I’M KIND OF IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING HERE.  Alphys; W-wait a second!!! Couldn’t you make a... Couldn’t you use a... Couldn’t you make a substitution in the recipe?  MTT: ...A SUBSTITUTION? YOU MEAN, USE A DIFFERENT, NON-HUMAN INGREDIENT? ...WHY? Alphys: Uhh, what if someone’s... Vegan?  MTT: VEGAN.  Alphys: Well, I mean- Before Alphys gets the chance to finish her sentence, Mettaton already finds the plan as a perfect plot twist an goes with it. MTT: THAT’S A BRILLIANT IDEA, ALPHYS!! ACTUALLY, I HAPPEN TO HAVE AN OPTION RIGHT HERE!!! MTT-BRAND ALWAYS-CONVENIENT HUMAN-SOUL-FLAVOR-SUBSTITUTE! A CAN OF WHICH... IS JUST OVER ON THAT COUNTER!!!  The camera switches over to the single can at the end of the room. MTT: WELL, DARLING? WHY DON’T YOU GO GET IT? Frisk walks over to the counter. Just as she is about to grab the can, the counter lifts up to the sky (well, the Computerworld’s definition of the sky, to be more accurate).  MTT: BY THE WAY, OUR SHOW RUNS ON A STRICT SCHEDULE.  IF YOU CAN’T GET THE CAN IN THE NEXT ONE MINUTE... WE’LL JUST HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PLAN!!! SO... BETTER START CLIMBING, BEAUTIFUL!!!  Alphys calls Frisk. Alphys: Oh no!!! There’s not enough time to climb up! F-f-fortunately, I might have a plan! Those boots that i gave you, i made a few... features. Frisk hears the metal plates on the bottom of the boots moving. Alphys; They’re poered by magic and you’re determination, so they should be able to keep you going long enough to get to the top and back safely. Chara: Should?! Frisk: Thanks Alphys. Frisk hangs up the phone. Chara: You’re not really going to do that... are you? Frisk: Watch me. Frisk activates the boots and starts flying up. Mettaton is flying as well, his leg and wheel transformed into a rocket. He starts throwing out some eggs from a basket. Frisk takes a few seconds to get used to flying, but she quickly gets the hang of it and succeeds at dodging. Mettaton starts pouring flour down. Frisk gets covered by some of it, but she keeps going. She keeps flying up and dodges the milk Mettaton was pouring down. Mettaton uses everything he has against Frisk, but she skillfully dodges everything and finally reaches the top. MTT: MY MY. IT SEEMS YOU’VE BESTED ME. BUT ONLY BECAUSE YOU HAD THE HELP OF THE BRILLIANT DOCTOR ALPHYS! OH, I LOATHE TO THINK OF WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU WITHOUT HER!!! WELL, TOODLES!! All the cameras shut down, completing the show. MTT: GREAT PERFORMANCE SWEETIE. Mettaton gets ready to fly away, but Frisk calls him back Frisk: Wait! What about the cake? MTT: OH YES! ABOUT THE SUBSTITUTION... HAVEN’T YOU EVER SEEN A COOKING SHOW BEFORE? I ALREADY BAKED THE CAKE AHEAD OF TIME!!!!! SO FORGET IT!!! Mettaton flies away and Frisk slowly descends back to ground level. She gets a call from Alphys. Alphys: Wow! We... we did it!! We... we really did it!!! Great job out there, team! W-well, uh, anyway, let’s keep heading forward!!! Frisk moves on to the next area and finds a save point. An ominous structure looms in the distance. You’re filled with determination 01000110 01101001 01101100 01100101 00100000 01110011 01100001 01110110 01100101 01100100 The Core shines, with its pure white metal and blue lights, creating light with the lava bellow. Ne arrives at Kris’ base. The two guards at the entrance walk up to him. “Identify yourself” Ne: Come on guys, doesn’t my look say enough. “For all we know, you could be an intruder in disguise.” Ne: Good point. Ne raises his hand, sending out harmless blue energy, writing a “WE OK NOW?” with it. “Yeah, that works, you can pass” Ne enters the base and asks the first person he finds where is Kris. The guard tells him that he is in his main room on top floor. Ne finds a nearby elevator and uses it to get to the top floor. he reaches the floor and exits the elevator. Finding Kris’ room wasn’t hard, since it is the most secured one, with a steel door that has fingerprint scanners, key card scanners, eye and voice check system and one key hole. Kris probably has the key needed to unlock that. Feeling to lazy to wait for anyone to unlock the door for him, Ne phase shifts through the key hole in the room. When he returns to his normal form, he notices Kris sitting behind a computer, a huge bulletproof glass wall behind him and finally, two guards aiming their guns at him, probably scared from him suddenly showing up. Ne: Heh. Guess I should have knocked first. Kris sighs. Kris: Put your guns down, you can leave us. Kris presses a button on his table that unlocks the door and the guards exit. The door closes behind them. Kris: You do realize that it’s rude that you just went through my last defense system like that. Ne: I like to think of it as a friendly advice on what you should fix. Kris: Whatever. What are you doing here? Ne: I have a favor to ask of you. Kris: Okay. What is it? Ne: With all of the chaos that’s happening around Computerworld, Sentinels are probably gonna try to take over the place. I am fast, but not fast enough to defend Computerworld and the rest of the city and I’m pretty sure that Frisk already went through the first half of the Computerworld. Kris: So you want the place secured? No problem. Ne: Thanks. Really appreciate it. Ne phase shifts back out the same way he entered the room and goes on the roof of the base. Kris turns around to look at the window, already assuming his exit route. Ne jumps from the roof, right in front of Kris’ room. Kris: Called it. Ne lands as softly as possibly, so the guards behind him don’t get as much surprised from his landing. He creates his bike and drives to Amy’s house. While he’s riding the bike, he opens his jacket and takes the reserve stripes he had hidden so that he doesn’t need to go to a locker just so he could cover up the plates and turns off the light on his helmet visor. In nearby alley, he turns the bike back into energy and absorbs it. After checking if he remembered to do everything, Ne walks the rest of the way to Amy’s house. When he reaches the house, he knocks on the door. Amy unlocks and opens the door. She’s wearing a gray T-shirt with text that says “Not lazy, just power saving” and blue sweatpants. Ne loves seeing her smile every time hen they meet outside of “work” Amy: Great timing, I could use your... skill. Ne: Okay? Amy lets him enter the house and closes the door behind him, locking it. Amy: I used all of the serums. Ne: Oh, alright, Where is it? Amy: With the rest of the gear, on the table in the living room. Ne goes to the living room and finds the vials on the table. He checks if all of them are there Ne: All ten of them. Good Amy follows him as he goes into the kitchen and fills every vial up with water, before adding some of his adaptation magic in them and closes them. Ne: Good as new. He hands her the vials and she returns them on the table. They both sit on the couch in the living room. Ne: Wait, when did you run out of them? Amy: I used the last one a few minutes ago. Ne: You had another soul-attack?! Why didn’t you call me? Amy: Well, you said that you would visit me and I still had one more vial. Ne: Yeah, but I still don’t know if they’ll always work. Me using them as your medicine was a lucky accident when that happened. Amy: Well it has been working so far, hasn’t it? Ne: No it hasn’t. They are only stabilizing you, but you aren’t getting healed. Amy: Well, maybe there is no healing it. Ne: There is. I just haven’t found it yet. Amy: It’s not your responsibility to take care of me. Ne: You need these because of me. I’m pretty sure that makes me responsible. Amy keeps quiet, having nothing else to say. Ne: ...I will cure you. Amy leans on his shoulder. Amy: I know. Tap, tap, tap. Soft but distinct footsteps echoed across the antivoid. She didn't really need to walk, but it helped her feel more connected - unlike the first version, she wasn't immune to the disassociation caused by the emptiness of the whiteroom. It'd taken a while to find who she was looking for; there were any number of Errors, but only one Null.

"you're a difficult one to track down."

Null's hanging by his ankles when she locates him, swaying forward and back on his bright blue threads of magic with an absent, almost blissful look on his face. Something about that particular type of movement aids him in maintaining his calm, which is entirely necessary when he keeps finding himself back here without explanation. He doesn't want to be here, and has taken dissociation into the realm of meditation.

"h-h-hello." He chimes in that pleasant-if-not-so-distorted tone of his. "that is intentional." An eye cracks open for a good look at his latest guest, first traveling up and down the whole of her form, then settling on her face and staying there almost challengingly. "familiar. do you know crow and dove?"

Ribbons tilted her head at him, liquid-looking eyes seeming to splash with the movement.

"hiya! I know them, yes, though they don't know me. that's intentional, too." She laced her fingers together behind her back, rocking back on her heels, then up to her toes with the snarky grin so common to them. Short, dark green hair bounced with each movement. "a little birdy told me you've been having problems."

"problems? my wh-whole existence is a problem, lady." He lowers himself down onto the imaginary floor then gets to his feet to stand a respectful but already rather comfortable distance from the somewhat familiar woman. Her eyes hold his interest for a while then drift back down to what she's wearing, now commiting her appearance to memory. 

"i ta-take it this is a business call, then?"

"I feel for you, glitchbean. friendly business!" She held out a hand. "you can call me Ribbons, for disambiguation. I'm... mm... here with proposal. not that kind, of course." Black coat, gray pants, cool, dusty green shirt and fur. Black boots with spiked soles. The pendant Dove wore had a bright red gem in it for Ribbons, and the lovely, complicated bow tied around her neck mimicked her eyes, the colors on it seeming to splash about like a liquid. She's small, and both sturdier than Dove and less squishy than Crow. A happy medium, perhaps. Her style certainly was a happy medium between the two!

"heh. gl-glitchbean." The use of the term of endearment is enough that Null feels comfortable brushing off his remaining paranoia. Ribbons has put him at ease, an advantage gained simply by being who she is and knowing what she does. He takes her hand and gives it a firm shake like a proper businessman, his hand radiating that same dry warmth her lesser alternates are familiar with. 

"oh, not that kind of proposal. wh-what a shame. nevertheless, i am l-listening."

It's soothing. She's icy cold, fingers as short and stubby as ever. She tilted her head to one side with a giggle, another familiar gesture that proves she's who she appears to be, squeezing back firmly. 

 "keep sweet talkin' like that and it might turn into that kind." She stood up straighter, eyes focusing onto his. "you and I are beings with purpose. destruction's in your nature, salvation in mine. but we both know that there are some places that just can't be saved. all the LucK and determination in the multiverse couldn't set things right. and denying our nature is... unpleasant."

"you're c-cold." He notes aloud, shuffling closer to her upon realzing that he rather enjoys that contrast. His eyes match hers, focused and a little stubborn, comfortable but still rather serious. "your flirt game is just as st-strong as theirs, i see. you are correct. denying it has been... painful. are you asking me to destroy something beyond sa-sa-saving for you?"

"I'm always cold. you're warm." She scootched closer to him in return, resting her shoulder against his. With a jacket that thick and floofy she should be overheated, but she's just... icy. "well someone had to start the trend~"

Her expression changed from playful to grim in a blink. "I am. there is one that has become... painfully obvious. so much so my little Dove's flown the coop."

"i do believe that de-destruction can be an act of mercy." He tries to look grim, but fails. As much guilt as it comes with, he can't help smiling. What a confused monster, or glitch, he's become. "if there's really no helping them, why not give them a quick and pa-painless end? all the better if they're..." His eye socket twitches. "i-insulting to start with. you already know how i feel about the e-extent of widespread deviance."

"I do, yes. I don't always agree, but I certainly understand the sentiment and it's been known to factor into the choice to mark a timeline." She grinned back at him. "the proposal is for a partnership, in fact. I've uncovered a number of timelines where it would be more merciful to give them a clean and painless end. the little Doves can only do so much, if there's no hope then... why leave them to suffer?"

"y-you send dove to repair broken timelines? tha-that is admirable, and explains some things about her. if only i had the patience for it myself." He laughs a little. There was a time that he too would have preferred the route she's taken. Perhaps he'd still prefer it, were it not for his unique affliction.

"the answer is... ye-yes. i would love to help you. this is just the justification i need to stop putting off the inevitable. i know that i can't resist forever, not with this anger threatening to boil over every moment i spend pretending to be a pa-pa-pacifist."

Ribbons grinned broadly. "bingo, bingo, bingo! give the bean a prize!" she giggled and clapped. "good! excellent! far better to put destructive proclivities to a productive use than allow them to affect that best left alone, yes?"

"ye...-yes." He had to pause for a moment there, expression very thoughtful and slighlty pained. It's not easy to accept that he might not be entirely in control of himself if he fights too hard for too long, but such is life. He'd always been particularly good at going with the flow prior to his accident.

"would you care to give me the details on this world you want wiped clean?"

Ribbons smiled kindly, patting his shoulder lightly. "we all have ugly sides. alright, let me see..." She pulled out something that vaguely resembled a pair of short chopsticks, until she pulled them apart. Ribbons, like the one around her throat, stretched between it, before changing to an image of that particular world's Load Screen.

At the top left corner is a universe designation; below are profile pictures of the inhabitants. Dove is a question mark. Asgore's been Xed out, Sans and Papyrus have a green border. The others have red borders. There are five SOULs on the screen; Dove would have replaced Justice, and Chara hasn't fallen yet.

"wh-what in all the worlds..." The Error squints at the page. Asgore is gone that much is obvious at a chance, and Chara still isn't present? Toriel a single mother? And why the green border around himself and his brother? He shakes his head, trying not to think of it that way, trying to tell himself that he's not Sans anymore.

"interesting. please explain?"

The Patch giggled at his confusion.

"this is a universe designation. tells us what sort of variant it is, in this case, a 'swapped fell' timeline. that means Asgore's taken on Toriel's usual role, Mellow," she tapped the Sans, "has taken Papy's, and so on. The X means that she failed to befriend Asgore, the green borders mean she befriended Mellow and Papy. I believe... mm, yes, she'd reached Waterfall but gone no further. You see how there are only five souls? Dove was meant to replace the Justice child, but her soul is... unstable. I'm sure you've noticed. She needs a chance to heal before she dies, or her soul will simply shatter rather than being able to be collected. Evidently that wasn't possible here."

"i'm familiar with the variant and generally... not fond of the i-inhabitants. that explains why asgore is the first out of the picture." Predictably, he looks pleased, grin spreading and eyes brightening a touch as he looks and listens, piecing her method of illustrating the timeline's variables together. "fell and swap... two of the most abomination-prone iterations of our world. this will be rather fun."

"I think you'd rather like this one, but given they have no hope left... best to let them have a peaceful end. perhaps you'll get to see a happier iteration later." She looked grim, but managed a smile in return. "shall we, then?"

"no." He mutters, giving her a pat on the shoulder. "let me think this way. otherwise, i w-won't be able to do it. let me fuel my hate." And just like that, he's right back to the act. Is it an act? It's hard to tell and at this point in time even he's not entirely sure how he feels about this. "i'll consider it a te-te-test, on my part. i need to understand what's going on with me, and i... well i can't do that if i never try making a more. it's e-e-experiment time."

He clasps his hands together in front of himself and draws a deep breath. "we shall."

"fair." She nodded, taking a deep breath. They have to think different ways, but that's alright. It'll keep them more balanced if they're not simply an echo chamber for each other. "excellent. an experiment is just what the good doctor ordered." She clasped the... tablet? ribbontop? back together and returned it to her jacket, then held out her hand again.

Null takes her hand and gives it another firm shake before using it to pull her into a hug, complete with a soft, warm sort of laugh. He hadn't realized that he'd missed her half as much as he did. Well, he'd missed... others hers. Close enough. "tha-thank you. this should be beneficial to everyone involved. call me when you're ready."

Utadukeeus: "Where's Kaizer?" Frisk asked. "He teleported back to the ruins." Alphys said. "He's checking on Undyne and Asgore." "Oh my God, that's right!" Habriel gasped. "We left them behind!" Skywardsister: "Wait wait wait," Toriel moved in front of Habriel to forbid him from leaving. "We can't just go back to the ruins, my child! Who knows where Chara has gone? "Plus, Undyne and Asgore are advanced warriors. They can put up a fight when it comes to Chara." Utadukeeus: "You're right." Habriel said. "Now, they have Kaizer with them to. And even when with me, Kaizer managed to really do a number on us." He looked down. "But, where will we stay?" Skywardsister: Frisk pulled out their phone and began dialing a number. "W-well, you guys can always stay at the lab," Alphys offered, scuttling over. "I know it may not be home, but it's kinda like a home. I can add beds to the main level for you guys to sleep in." Frisk held the phone up to their ear, waiting. "Hello?" They greeted. "Yeah, it's me, Frisk! We just went through a whole ordeal tha- yeah, you heard from Alphys what happened? Well, y'know how we can't go back to the ruins..." Toriel made a confused expression and Frisk mouthed the name 'Undyne' to her. Utadukeeus: Habriel wandered to the side of the room and pulled out his amulet. He kissed it and placed it back under his shirt. He saw down, as if in deep thought. Skywardsister: "Oh o-or you could just uh do that..." Alphys trailed off, hearing Frisk's phone conversation. "Oh! You guys could come stay here if you want," Undyne's voice answered through the speaker. "It's just not very roomy. I don't know if I'll have enough beds for all of you." Toriel motioned for Frisk to give her the phone, and they did. Toriel greeted Undyne and spoke with her about the housing situation, and concluded that there wouldn't be enough room for them to bed there for the time being. Soon, she hung up. "you could always come over to my place," Sans said. Frisk's face brightened. Utadukeeus: "Are you sure?" Toriel asked. "Do you have enough room for the three of us?" "hmm..." Sans thought about it. There was the couch, his room and Papyrus' room and that was it. "darn." he grunted. "W-well." Alphys said. "My lab still stands." Suddenly Kaizer appeared back in the room. "So, I heard you're not planning on coming back to the ruins." "That's right." Frisk said. "We're worried Chara might get us if we go back there." "Which is why King Asgore invites you to stay at his castle." Kaizer said. "There's more than enough room and plenty of security." "Absolutely not." Toriel grunted. Skywardsister: Kaizer folded his arms and raized an invisible brow at her tone and refusal. "Toriel, just set your differences aside with him for now! What other choices do you have? Just do it for the time being. Be grateful that someone has enough space for you and your children to stay at." Frisk squinted at her. Toriel rolled her eyes and grunted. "Ugh do we have to?" Frisk smirked. "You're acting like I would, Mom." They snorted. Utadukeeus: "You don't have to do anything." Kaizer said. "The King's offering you a place to stay. If I were you, even if I despised the King, I would accept for the sake of others that I cared about." "What would you know?" Toriel asked. "About taking care of others?" Kaizer reached into his pocket and pulled out a picture of a little skeleton girl. All that could be seen was her face. She wore an orange bandanna over her head. She had beautiful, sparkling eye sockets with eyeliner. She had one of the most beautiful smiles Toriel has ever seen. "You were saying?" Kaizer asked. Skywardsister: "Oh, sorry," She blushed. "C'mon Mom," Habriel said. "It can't be that bad. And it won't be permanent. Let's try." "Okay," Toriel gave in. It was just a few days, but even being near him during the fight against Chara had bothered her immensely. She did not take a liking to him after their past experiences. Utadukeeus: "Who was that?" Frisk asked Kaizer. "She's very pretty." "My daughter." Kaizer said. Skywardsister: "Well, you better get going," Kaizer broke the pause. "Don't want to impose on Alphys AND Asgore too much." Alphys gave a little embarrassed chuckle and simply waved it off, saying "It's fine! Don't worry about it." Toriel thanked Alphys, Kaizer, and Sans for their help, thanked Frisk for being patient, and they left the lab. Then they trekked towards the king's castle. Utadukeeus: The group were making their way over from the core to the front of the castle. Seeing the gigantic castle made Habriel feel better. If he were to choose a place to hide from someone, it'd be Asgore's kingdom. The small family were slowly making their way through the first hallway when a random monster approached them by the side. "What, seriously!?" The monster growled. "The King's really gonna let human trash in his castle?" "They let you in, didn't they?" Habriel said. Skywardsister: The monster snarled and slammed his face with his palm; when his hand went back down, his face was unamused. "Ugh, fine! Go in, why don't you?" Toriel yanked her children closer to herself, glaring at the monster. "Is there a problem, sir?" She inquired, watching the monster with a piercing gaze. Utadukeeus: Toriel, Habriel and Frisk were all giving the monster their own death stares. The monster, starting to sweat, moved out of the way. "U-Ugh..." the monster backed away. "N-no, ma'am." "Good." Toriel said, changing back from a death stare to a cheerful smile. Skywardsister: Toriel ushered the children past the monster, who went a separate way from the family. "Is he gone?" Toriel whispered, leaning over the heads of her children. They nodded after glancing around to see if the monster was anywhere nearby. They all proceeded towards Asgore's castle. Utadukeeus: "Hey, punk!" a familiar voice called. Frisk turned around and smiled seeing Undyne approach them in her armor. "Heard you guys are staying with the King! That's great!" she said. Kaizer was right behind her. "Maybe when you all recover, we can continue our training. And it'll be extra special this time. We'll have Asgore with us." "He's that strong?" Habriel asked. "VERY!" Undyne said. "He made me who I am!" Skywardsister: "Whoa, really?" Habriel asked, starry eyed. Undyne grinned. "Yep! He trained me to be the strong warrior I am today! And you're already getting super strong- soon you'll be just as strong if not stronger than me!" She pat him on the back. "Alright, see you guys later!" She strode off, waving them goodbye. Utadukeeus: "Remember, child." Toriel said. "There's still a couple things I wanna show you and Frisk." "Of course." Habriel said, nodding his head. Skywardsister: They walked until they reached the front of the castle. Toriel acted hesitant to entering the edifice, but Habriel and Frisk coaxed her inside by echoing their previous sentiments towards staying there. It was not going to be forever, and she should appreciate it. Utadukeeus: A beat up Asgore was waiting for then on the other side of the entrance. He stood there, smiling. "Howdy!" He said. "Would any of you like a cup of tea?" Skywardsister: The kids were bewildered. "What happened to you?" Frisk asked the gentle king. He didn't seem to care about his wounds at the moment, which slightly alarmed them. How could serving his guests matter more than taking care of himself in times like this? "Oh, this is just from the last battle with Chara," The king inspected himself where the children stared. Toriel chastised them quietly for staring, and they apologized and looked away. Utadukeeus: "I'm sorry, my king." Habriel bowed. "It was my spell that caused this. I take full responsibility and ask for your forgiveness." Skywardsister: "No, no," Asgore waved his hands in front of him. "It wasn't your spell, and it certainly wasn't your fault. Why don't you come in?" He beckoned for them to enter, and the children were more than happy to; Toriel held Habriel's hand, following him in. Frisk pointed out various parts of the castle to Habriel as they walked, and Habriel was fascinated by the design of the place. Toriel was bored. Utadukeeus: "And this...." Frisk paused and began to hold their head in shame. "This is judgement hall." they said. "Are you alright, Frisk?" Habriel asked. Skywardsister: They trailed behind with Habriel, waiting to tell him about the hall. Toriel had gone ahead a bit, and then they told him. "This hall," They whispered in a serious tone. "This is the hall where I fought Sans relentlessly in the genocide timeline. I... died over and over. Then he died. But that was then." They said under their breath. Utadukeeus: "Look at me, Frisk." he said. They looked up ready to cry. "You have nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone had a story that they're not proud of. That's what keeps us level-headed and to have the will to do the right thing." he hugged them. "I don't think of you any different from when I met you. You're my sibling and I love you. You're gonna mess up. Mother and I will be there to help you back up. I look at you and see that genocide isn't your wish. Its quite the opposite. You want everyone to be happy, just like I want you to be happy." Skywardsister: They still tried to hold back their tears. They wiped at their eyes with their sleeve. "But... that's why we're in this mess. It's all my fault. That's why Chara's after us. It's because I was stupid." They wanted to hide their face again; they didn't want to keep eye contact. Utadukeeus: "And look at me." Habriel said. "If it weren't for me, the cathedral wouldn't know about any of you and wouldn't cause you all so much pain. If you truly didn't care about us, you wouldn't have reset. For that, you have my upmost respect, Frisk. Not many in your shoes would have built up the courage to own up to their mistakes and make up for it." Frisk hugged him getting his shirt wet with their tears. Skywardsister: "Still... Chara's after us because of me and what I did... I wish they would just let it go. I cared too much about everyone here to just leave everyone dead. I wanted them to live." They wiped away their tears and looked at Habriel. "Meanwhile, all you did was to defend yourself." Utadukeeus: "Maybe we shouldn't fight Chara." Habriel said. "Who knows, they could be in just as much pain as you are. Maybe the solution isn't to fight her, but save her." He hugged her again. "As for me, I look back to the people I've killed and I realize that I could have done it differently. I can't change what I've done. I'll have to see their faces in my dreams for the rest of my life. It was my decision to take their life. I'm glad that you can redo your decisions." "Children!" Toriel called. "Where are-" as soon as Toriel entered the hallway she saw Frisk and Habriel hugging and wiping their tears away. Skywardsister: She ran over to see what was wrong. Toriel bent down to wipe the remaining tears from their face and hugged both at once. They promised they'd tell her what they were discussing once they were alone. They then silently made their way forward to where Asgore was waiting to continue leading them. Utadukeeus: Asgore led them further in. "This is the throne room." Asgore said. The room was riddled with buttercups all over the place. "And my garden." Frisk held Habriel's hand and looked out of the window. Below it was Flowey, looking rather bored, hiding among the flowers. Skywardsister: Flowey was muttering under his breath when he heard the group enter the room. The noise caught his attention; he perked up, twisting his stem around and peeking up above the sill of the window to watch and listen to them. Only his eyes and the top of his head were visible, his top petal just reaching over the ledge. 'What are those idiots up to now?' He thought, straining to see them. "This place is always nice," Frisk commented, calmed by the quiet blooming atmosphere of the room. It was tranquil and undisturbed; it looked as if anyone who entered never trod on the flowers. Utadukeeus: Asgore led them further on, all the way to the end. "This is where the barrier once was." he said. "For a very long time...." Skywardsister: Habriel marveled at the vastness of the hall. He could see this place being the grand entryway and exit for all the monsters in the underground. This also brought back bitter memories for Frisk. The king remained cheerful throughout his tour of the castle. Utadukeeus: Habriel paused as he saw the silhouette of a woman on the other side of the barrier. She wasn't injured, or limping but she seemed tired. Habriel was about to take a couple steps closer, but Toriel put a hand on his shoulder, worried it might be Chara or someone else. "Wait a minute..." Habriel said. "Is that?" he gasped and sprinted to the silhouette. Toriel wanted to stop him but he had already made it to her. She could see the two hug. He lifted the female in the air an spun around. Frisk could hear a faint laughter echo in the distance. Skywardsister: "Huh?" They wanted to get closer, and Toriel wasn't stopping them from doing so, but they were still wary about it. Asgore was caught off guard and was interrupted in the tour when Habriel had run to the silhouette in the distance. He scratched his head in confusion. "Child? Who is that?" The king asked. Utadukeeus: They all walked up to Habriel and the stranger. The little child and the two goat monsters approached Habriel sitting next to a girl with dark red hair and wearing a dark red shirt. They were laughing and telling each other jokes. The girl turned and saw the monsters and gasped. "Wait!" Habriel said. The girl paused. "You have nothing to fear from these people." he said. "They're our new family and they'll take care of us." "How can you trust them?" she asked. "They've saved my life so many times, I lost track." he said. "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for them, I owe them everything." Skywardsister: "Thank you, my child," Toriel blushed and smiled happily from hearing her son say that. She held out a hand for the girl sitting next to Habriel. "It's nice to meet you, child. My name is Toriel, and I've been taking care of Habriel for quite some time now. That's Frisk over there," She pointed to Frisk, who waved and smiled too. Utadukeeus: "It's nice to meet you." she said smiling. "I'm Marion. Marion Weiss." Skywardsister: They shook hands. "Also, do you have anywhere to go, my child? I know some things about Habriel's past, and..." Toriel trailed off, not wanting to bring up the past too much, but she needed to find out if this girl had a home to return to or not. If not, she would offer to take care of her, as well. Utadukeeus: Marion looked down. "No." she said. "I've been wandering alone out in the wilderness for a while, now. When Habriel and I escaped. He distracted them so that I could get away safely. I'm so tired and hungry.... I don't want to worry him...." Skywardsister: "Oh my... Child, I cannot allow you to wander alone without food or shelter or anyone who cares about you. Would you like to live with us? I have a house in a section of the underground called the Ruins. I've cared for Habriel and Frisk for a while now. I understand if you're not comfortable, though," She added, realizing Marion might not trust her because of her past experiences. Utadukeeus: The girl thought about t for a couple seconds. She sighed. "Before you approached us, he said that he trusts you and that little kid with his life. He would do anything for the two of you. If you had any ill intentions, I'm sure you would have done something by now. If he trusts you, I will to." Skywardsister: "I'm really sorry about everything you've been through, my child," Toriel wanted to rectify the horrors that the children had to live through all their early lives, but didn't know if she could. She was just some monster taking in human children. It wasn't her place to do so, but she felt that it was her responsibility to keep them safe and help them feel happy again. And at least Marion knew Habriel. Utadukeeus: "You're serious..." she gasped. "You're really willing to take us in? Accept us?" "Of course, child." Toriel said. "I never planned to deceive you." Tears ran down the girls cheeks and she hugged the goat mom. Toriel gently brushed the girl's hair with her hand as she whimpered. "It's okay, child." Toriel said. "I'm here for you." Habriel turned and saw Marion crying. He approached the two of them. "Is everything alright?" Habriel asked. "Of course, child." Toriel said. "It's just a lot to take in-" Marion jumped out of Toriel's embrace and nearly tackled Habriel, kissing him in front of everyone. Skywardsister: Toriel stared in surprise and Frisk did the duty of covering their eyes and turning around out of courtesy. Asgore blushed. "I guess someone's happy," He remarked from feet away. "Can I turn around yet?" Frisk asked awkwardly, which made everyone laugh. Utadukeeus: They stopped kissing out of courtesy for everyone and hugged instead. "Of course, Frisk." Habriel said. "You're good now." Frisk opened their eyes and saw the two of them hugging. "You're gonna love it here." Habriel said. "Everyone's so nice." he then remembered his encounter earlier in the morning. "Well....mostly everyone...." Marion giggled and let go of him. Holding his hand. "Hey, Habriel..." she said. "Yes?" Habriel asked. "You must be a great Baseball player." she said. "Because you're great at hitting it off." Skywardsister: Frisk stamped their foot and put their hands over their ears. "Now I understand how Papyrus feels!" They exclaimed. Marion and Habriel laughed. "I can show you the ins and outs of the underground if you'd like. I know almost as much as any other monster here knows since I've been here so long." They told Marion. Utadukeeus: "Child...." Toriel reminded them. "With our new family as an escort of course." Habriel laughed. "I kind of almost died a few times so we can't go anywhere without them." "Really?" Marion teased. "What?" Habriel asked. "Not like I died....well....except for that one time." Skywardsister: "WHAT?" Marion yelled. "What do you mean, 'that one time?!'" "It's a bit complicated, my child," Toriel added quickly. "And we have tons of materials to help heal." Frisk began to inch their way further away from Marion by shuffling quietly and slowly by their heals and the balls of their feet, sliding sideways without making a sound. They didn't want to be judged by Marion based off of Chara's need for vengeance. They didn't want her to find out about the timelines so soon. She just met them; it wasn't fair. Utadukeeus: "It's a long story." Habriel said. "It doesn't matter. What's important is that we're here now, together." "You know what that means..." Marion said. "That's right." Habriel said. "Our promise..." Skywardsister: "Oh children! You're a little young for that, don't you think?" Toriel chuckled at their remark, making them blush with embarrassment. With Asgore feeling more and more awkward, he asked from the background, "Shall we go on with our tour then?" Frisk was still sidling away, and the king caught their eye. Utadukeeus: "Frisk, what's the matter?" Habriel asked worriedly. Frisk looked like they were ready to cry again. Skywardsister: "Why don't we explain to her the complicated stuff later? Like, much later? We just met..." They stopped moving away since Habriel noticed their movement. If they weren't careful, their reputation would be ruined. They didn't want to look bad, but this behavior was making things worse. They gritted their teeth, holding their head in their hands.

Servertale Chapter 12: Privacy is nice

Frisk is inside of the lab. It is completely dark. Like in some of the waterfall rooms, the only lights sources are the neon stripes on her suit and her glow stick. She notices a huge screen, showing live broadcast of her movement. Frisk and Chara have already had enough of the darkness, so they decide to keep moving forward, until they hopefully find the exit, they'll have to find medicine for her arm elsewhere. Suddenly, they hear a door opening and someone coming out. The lights turn on, revealing a short, yellow monster and the interior of the lab. The walls are white metal, so is the floor. The computer is just as large as its screen and the table is really messy. The monster is wearing a lab coat with a small delta rune symbol on it and glasses with blue lenses. The glasses might have an operating system as well. The monster notices Frisk and starts panicking. Alphys: Oh. My god! I didn’t expect you to show up so soon! I haven’t showered, I’m barely dressed, It's all messy, and… Alphys' movement starts to slow down as she gains control over her excitement Alphys: Ummm… H-h-hiya! I'm Dr. Alphys. I'm Asgore's royal scientist! Chara: Well, she doesn’t look like she wants to fight, so that’s good. Alphys: B-b-but, ahhhh, I’m not one of the “bad guys”! Actually, since you’ve stepped out of the Ruins, I’ve… been “observing” your journey through my console. Chara: So, she just decides to record our private talks? Rude. I bet she thinks that you're crazy since she can’t see me. Alphys: Your fights… Your friendships… Your… uh, monologues… Everything! I was originally going to stop you, but… watching someone on the screen really makes you root for them. S-so, ahhh, now i want to help you! Using my knowledge, I can easily guide you through Hotland! I know a way right to Asgore’s castle, no problem! Both Chara and Frisk like the idea of someone actively helping them out. While Sans did help them already, he still can’t be expected to be there to help Frisk every time, even with his abilities.  Chara: This is going better than I have expected it to. Alphys: Well, actually, umm, there’s just a tiny issue. A long time ago, I made a robot named Mettaton. Originally, I built him to be an entertainment robot. Uh, you know, like a robotic TV star or something. Anyway, recently I decided to make him more useful. Alphys realizes by the look on Frisk’s face that she has no Idea what that means. Alphys: You know, just some small practical adjustments. Like, um... Anti... anti-human combat features? Frisk finds that fact concerning to say the least. Chara facepalms Chara: I had to say something. Alphys: Of c-course, when I saw you coming, I immediately decided... I have to remove those features! Frisk makes a sigh of relief Chara: Thank god. Alphys: Unfortunately, I may have made a teensy mistake while doing so. And, um... Now he’s an unstoppable killing machine with a thirst for human blood. Frisk: Oh, come on! Didn’t anyone ever watch Terminator? Making smart robots always ends horribly. Alphys doesn’t get the reference, since she never watched the movie. Alphys: I don’t know what that means, but, ummm, hopefully we won’t run into him! The lab shakes a little bit, while Frisk hears some loud noises from the nearby wall. Alphys: Did you hear something? The banging becomes louder and the wall from which the noise was the loudest starts cracking. Alphys; Oh no. The lights disappear again. This time, Frisk isn’t the only light source, since Alphys’ glasses and the delta rune symbol are glowing in their light blue color. The glasses are definitely small screens. Frisk yeeps as a robotic voice is suddenly heard. MTT: OHHHH YES! WELCOME, BEAUTIES...  Only one light source turns back on, shining upon the metal robot. The black metal is shiny, almost glittery. Now a new light source, the blue screen of the robot is brightening up the area in front of it, like a flashlight. Somehow, none of his limbs are connected to the rest of his body, but are still floating near it. Probably magic or some magnets. The robot is holding a microphone in one hand and has that pose like the people on game shows have. MTT: TO TODAY’S QUIZ SHOW!!! Two disco balls and one small screen are lowered down, creating many light spots everywhere. The previous statement being true enough, it really is a game show. Some music starts playing in the background, Frisk assumes that it is the theme music for the game show or the robot. MTT: OH BOY! I CAN ALREADY TELL IT’S GONNA BE A GREAT SHOW! EVERYONE GIVE A BIG HAND FOR OUR WONDERFUL CONTESTANT! Mettaton starts clapping. More clapping is heard from everywhere even tho, the four of them are the only ones in the lab. Probably special effects. MTT: NEVER PLAYED BEFORE, GORGEOUS? Even though Frisk is not sure if that compliment is genuine, she still blushes. MTT: NO PROBLEM! IT’S SIMPLE! Mettaton’s screen draws the number one on it while Mettaton explains. MTT: THERE’S ONLY ONE RULE. ANSWER CORRECTLY...  Mettaton poses dramatically, while his screen switches from the normal blue and white to blood red. MTT: OR YOU DIE! Mettaton attacks! The screen is back to normal blue and white, but that still doesn’t make Mettaton look any less dangerous. Chara quickly scans Mettaton and finds out that even the glow stick wouldn’t do much damage. At least, they lose nothing, since she knows that Frisk wouldn’t use violence anyways, she’s better than that. MTT: LET’S START WITH AN EASY ONE!!  Mettaton uses his screen as a projector and show’s the question wiath a timer on the wall. What’s the prize for answering correctly? The letters become green and the timer stops. Glitter starts falling from the upper floor. MTT: RIGHT! SOUNDS LIKE YOU GET IT! Frisk is looks at Alphys and notices her approval. All of the glitter that was falling is on the ground now. The quiz show continues.  MTT: HERE’S YOUR TERRIFIC PRIZE! What’s the king’s full name? Alphys notices that the phone is really outdated. Alphys: Wh... Where’d you get that phone!? It’s ANCIENT! It doesn’t even have texting. W-wait a second, please! Alphys goes in another room. Frisk hears some weird noises and Alphys comes back in a few seconds. In one hand, she’s holding the phone and carrying some metal boots in the other. Alphys: Here, I upgraded it for you! It can do texting, items, it’s got a key chain... I even signed you up for the underground’s No. 1 social network! Now we’re officially friends! Frisk: And what are those boots? Alphys: Oh, yes, I almost forgot about that. These boots should help you go through Hotland easier. It can be a hard area to travel through. They have some special features, but I’m not done with upgrading the software yet. I’ll give you a call when I’m done with the updates to give you instructions, or text you over the social network, since we’re friends. Ehehehe! Heheh... heh...  Alphys doesn’t know what else to say, so she makes an excuse and goes in a room and locks the door. Frisk puts on the boots. Frisk: These are extremely light, considering they’re made out of metal. Chara: Did you really have to answer that ghost question? Frisk winks at Chara Frisk: No, and that’s the best part. Frisk opens the fridge and finds a package of noodles. She takes the noodles and uses the phone to ad it to her box. Chara notices a half empty syringe with red liquid in it on the table. She points at the syringe. Chara: What’s that? Frisk picks up the syringe. Determination Chara: Use that, it will heal you. Frisk: How do you know that? It could poison me, or worse. Chara: I remember Gaster experimenting with determination. He said that it can heal humans, it’s just dangerous for monsters. Frisk: Than why does Alphys have it here? Chara: Maybe she left it for us. It doesn’t matter, she probably has plenty of those, just take this one. Don’t inject too much tho, I remember Gaster saying that the smallest amount of it should be enough to heal injuries, so we should keep this with us. Frisk agrees and uses a small amount of it. She feels all of her wounds from battling Undyne heal like they never existed. Frisk: Wow, this is effective. Chara: yeah, now lets keep going. Frisk exits the lab.         After the lunch and more talk, Amy and Ne decided to start going back home. Slasher: See ya later. Ne: Yeah, ok. Nat: And remember to call when you have free time, we never hang out enough. Amy: Okay, we will. Ne and Amy exit the house and start walking back. Amy: Well, that was fun. Ne: Yeah. Amy: I think that the two of them are getting along really nice. Ne: Well, they have been friends for a long time. Amy: I know, but I think that they're slowly becoming more than friends. Ne: So, you've noticed it as well. Amy: Yup, they're going to get together real soon. Ne: You really think so? Amy: Yeah, I mean, they're like us. Ne blushes a little from that statement. Toriel is getting the pie ready. She cuts the pie in pieces and places one piece on the plate. The pie is a little bit burnt, but that still doesn’t take away the taste. Toriel goes to Fisk’s room to give her the pie. Since Frisk is still sleeping, Toriel just leaves the pie on the floor and exits the room. She goes to the doors that are blocking the exit to Snowdin. Toriel sits down at the doors and checks if Sans is there. Toriel: Sans? Are you there? Sans: yeah, tori, i’m here. what’s up? Toriel: Sans… A human is in the Ruins. She’s a young girl. Sans: really? does anyone else know? Toriel: only the small monsters. Oh and I met Blooky while I was working, he said he met her as well. Sans: did the human hurt anyone? Toriel: No. The child doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Even when Flowey attacked her, she didn’t want to fight back. Sans: i told you that you shouldn’t trust that flower. he only causes trouble. Toriel: I know, but still, I feel like there is something… more about him, that he refuses to show. Before Sans can say anything, Error already walks through and closes the portal. Sans: these conversations just keep getting better and better. 2 hours later Sentinels of the ancient’s HQ, Ebott city Ramirez is looking through the latest city reports, when a thug runs in the room, clearly tired form running. Thug: Boss! Ramirez: What is it? Thug: We have… a reported… break in… at the computer warehouse. Ramirez: How do you know that? Thug: A scout… says he say 2 cops investigating the area, using radios, he believes that someone was in. Ramirez: Who was in? who are the cops. Thug: We don’t know who it was, but the scout identified one of the cops. It was officer Lopez. Ramirez: I don’t have the time to go there myself, tell Cobra to send a squad there, the objective is finding the cameras and checking if someone entered the digital realm, not fighting cops. Thug: Yes, sir! The thug does as ordered and looks for commander Cobra. Meanwhile, Ne is listening in on their conversations from a nearby rooftop using hidden cameras he placed a few weeks ago. Ne: So someone was sneaky enough to get past the cops and Ramirez wants to find out what happened. Looks like I have a race to win. Ne jumps down to the ground and creates his motorcycle using magic. Ne: Lets break some speed limits! Ne pulls the handlebar, gaining speed and goes around and between cars on the road. The police already knows about him and they don’t want to waste time on trying to chase him, so he has an easy trip. After a minute of driving, he is at the warehouse. Ne: Ok, let’s see what kind of footage i can find here. They should really upgrade their security here, but still, it just makes things easier for me. Ne finds the recordings and starts watching them. He sees Frisk entering the warehouse, her hiding from the policemen and finally, her entering the digital realm. Ne: Frisk, what the hell did you do kid? I have to delete this before those idiots get here… Actually, I could have some fun here. His visor light turns into a smiley face for a second. He transfers all of the recordings to his helmet’s OS and takes USB drive that he found next to the computer. Just as he was getting ready to go, he sees 4 thugs getting out of a car. One of them has a 9mm, second guy has an baseball bat and the other two have combat knives. Ne starts to laugh. Ne: What is this, amateur hour? I expected something more chalenging, like assault rifles, explosives, or anything… He points to their equipment Ne: better than that. Thug: We don’t need rifles or bombs to take you down! Ne: It’s ok, I understand that there were money losses lately. The thugs are clearly mad now. Thug: Enough with the talking, lets just kill this fool. The thug with the 9mm starts firing at Ne, but he blocks all of the bullets with his magic enforced panels. When the gunman is out of ammo, Ne dashes towards him and knocks him out with one punch. The thug with the bat tries to hit his head, but Ne ducks under it and kicks the thug, making the guy loose balance, and fall to the ground. The two thugs armed with knives attack him at the same time, with one of them trying to cut his stomach, while the other one tries to stab his neck and they both miss, because Ne phase shifted above them, hitting the both with the neon energy he fired from his hands and knocking them out. The guy with the baseball bat tries to get up, still stunned from the kick, but is knocked out as well, by another kick to the head. Ne: well that was fun. Lets do that another time. Ok, now, lets get these guys into a nice wild goose chase. He looks at the computer and the small bag Frisk left when she was teleported. Ne: Whatever crazy plan you came up with, I hope you know what you’re doing Frisk.   Frisk is starting to wake up. She sees a pie on a plate. Chara is awake as well. Frisk: Good morning. How did you sleep? Chara: I didn’t. Frisk: what? Chara: It probably has something to do with the fact that I’m a ghost. Frisk: So what did you do the whole night? Chara: Mostly nothing. I was just looking around, listening to Toriel passing by and guarding you. Frisk: Guarding me? Pfft, what were you expecting to happen? Chara: I dunno, maybe a monster would get in the room and try to attack you. Frisk: And how were you planing to protect me? Chara: Well that ghost saw me, didn’t he? That means i can probably fight ghosts and if the intruder is an other type of monster, I would just wake you up. Frisk: And I’m gonna pretend that you staring at me the whole night isn’t weird. Chara: Exactly. Frisk gets out of bed and grabs the plate with the pie. There’s a fork in it. She takes the fork and tries the pie. It’s still warm and very delicious. Frisk: How is it so warm? Chara: Probably fire magic. She still makes it as perfect as she used to. Frisk: Wait. You can taste what I’m eating? Chara: Looks like it. Frisk finishes eating the pie and goes to explore the house. She starts with the rest of the hallway. When she gets to the mirror at the end of the room, Chara just says “It’s you”. Frisk continues to go and find Toriel. Toriel is sitting in a chair in the living room, reading a book.  Toriel: Up already, I see? Um, I want you to know how glad I am to have someone here. There are so many old books I want to share. I want to show you my favorite bug-hunting spot. I’ve also prepared a curriculum for your education. Toriel gets up from her chair and starts walking way faster than normal to the room that separates Ruins from Snowdin. Chara: Oh, no, I know what she’s trying to do. Quickly, go after her! Frisk starts running after Toriel. She finds her standing in the beginning of the hallway. Toriel speaks in an emotionless voice. Toriel: You wish to return “Home,” do you not? Ahead of us lies the end of the Ruins. A one-way exit to the rest of the Computerworld. I am going to destroy it. Chara: I KNEW IT! Toriel: No one will ever be able to leave again. Now be a good child and go upstairs. Toriel continues going forward, but Frisk and Chara are too determined to give up now. Toriel: Every human that falls down here meets the same fate. I have seen it again and again. They come, They leave, they die. You naive child… If you leave the Ruins… They… ASGORE… Will kill you. I am only protecting you, do you understand? Go to your room. Do not try to stop me. This is your final warning. Toriel continues to walk towards the doors and Frisk follows her to them. There is nowhere else to go. Toriel: You want to leave so badly? Hmpf. You are just like the other one. There is only one solution to this. Prove yourself… Prove to me you are strong enough to survive. Toriel blocks the way! Without Frisk even telling her, Chara uses the code to check Toriel. Toriel ATK 80 DEF 80 Knows best for you. Toriel makes a swarm of fireballs around Frisk. She barely dodges the fireballs, still feeling their heat. Toriel looks through her. Frisk attempts to talk to Toriel, but she doesn’t say anything because she can’t think of any conversation topics. Frisk shows that she doesn’t want to fight, but Toriel still keeps on attacking. Now, She moves her arms, creating fireball waves in front of them. Frisk dodges one wave and the other distinguishes before it hits her. Frisk is still trying to stop their fight. This time, Toriel takes a little bit longer before she makes her next attack. She prepares another magical attack. This time a fireball hits Frisk, hurting and slightly burning her. Frisk fails to contain a small yelp from the pain and the heat of the attack. Toriel is acting aloof. Frisk still doesn’t fight back. Toriel is slightly confused by this. Toriel: What are you doing? She creates another sweep attack, but Frisk manages to somehow dodge it. Before she has time to regain balance, Toriel throws another wave, dangerously damaging her. Fisk cries out in pain. Chara’s ghost body is frozen by fear. Toriel creates another wave. Frisk is on the ground, almost completely unable to move. The fireballs travel at high speed, but all of them go around Frisk, actually dodging her. Toriel: What are you proving this way? Frisk is still barely moving, just holding her glow stick in front of her as a last defense. Chara starts to regain control of her body and calms down a bit when she sees that Toriel won’t fight anymore. Chara: I think it’s over. Toriel makes a small wave, giving Frisk time to slowly get up. She is gasping for air, shaking from the pain that’s going through her whole body after every move, but she still colets enough energy to somehow stand up. Toriel prepares for an attack, but there isn’t one. She realizes that there is only one way this battle is going to end. She stops attacking. Toriel: I know you want to go home, but… Frisk still does nothing, taking deep breaths, still fighting her injuries. Toriel: But please, go upstairs, now. Frisk still doesn’t move, because she is determined to continue and because moving again would probably make her fall to the ground. Toriel manages a weak smile Toriel: I promise, I will take good care of you here. I know we do not have much, but, we can have a good life here. Frisk stands still, apart from shaking, holding her good arm over the wounded one and her stomach. Toriel: Why are you making this so difficult. Please, go upstairs. Frisk just looks at her, basically begging with her eyes. Toriel realizes the amount of injury she has brought upon her and starts to feel ashamed of her actions, remembering her last attempt of stopping a child. Toriel: Pathetic, is it not? I cannot save even a single child. Frisk would normally try to make her feel better, but she is in way too much pain to talk or move.   Toriel: No, I understand. You would just be unhappy trapped down here. The Ruins are very small once you get used to them. It would not be right for you to grow up in a place like this. My expectations… My loneliness… My fear… For you, my child, I will put them aside. If you truly wish to leave the Ruins… I will not stop you. However, when you leave… Please do not come back. I hope you understand. Toriel heals Frisk’s injuries, but even after that, Frisk can still feel the pain in their body. Still, she manages to hug Toriel. Goodbye, my child. Toriel walks away. Chara: Are you ok? Frisk: I don’t know. Chara: What happened down here while I was away? I have never seen her so violent. Frisk: At least we’re alive. Relatively. Chara: The pain should go away after some time. Are you ready to continue? Frisk: As ready as I can be. Chara: Well that will have to be good enough. Frisk opens the big door and walks through the hallway, only to find Flowey waiting at the exit. Flowey: Clever. Verrrryyy clever. You think you’re really smart, don’t you? In this world, it’s kill, or be killed. So you were able to play by your own rules. His face turns demonic. Flowey: You spared the life of a single person. Hee hee hee… His face turns back to normal. Flowey: I bet you feel really great. You didn’t kill anybody this time. But what will you do if you meet a relentless killer? You’ll die and you’ll die and you’ll die. Until you tire of trying. What will you do then? His face takes on an evil shape again. Flowey: will you kill out of frustration? Or will you give up entirely on this world… Flowey keeps changing his face to match his mood. Flowey: … and let ME inherit the power to control it? I am the prince of this world’s future. Don’t worry, my little monarch, my plan isn’t regicide. This is SO much more interesting.
