God, the WAY Sunday yelled at Gallagher at end, demanding to know why he killed Robin broke my heart. I wanted to pat his back and hold his hand, dear Lord.

I can't imagine the agony he must be going through. He's reunited with his sister after literal years, only for her to be murdered, then the people who adopted them both force him to pretend that she's alive, try to stop him from looking into her death and who caused it.

AND THAT LIGHTCONE OH MY GOD THAT LIGHTCONE The fact that he kept it securely... After all this time... He looked so young and happy, too. Oh, my heart.

There's a lot of questionable things going on with him (just like everyone else in Penacony) but my heart really goes out to him. He's one of the people who has, arguably, been having the worst times.

— sunday would be rlly supportive for you, no matter what!! he’d encourage you to pursue your dreams, whether that’s becoming a nameless, a performer for the iris family, or something else entirely, he’ll be there alongside you every step of the way :3

— he’d be a bit strict with you, since you’re still young. would probably give you a curfew for when its night, like making you go to bed at 9pm at least. maybe a little later on the weekends. (does time even exist in the dreamscape i dont remember.)

— btw, if you watched robin’s trailer, you can catch a glimpse of sunday polishing her halo. and yes, he would polish your halo too, since you’re also halovian, sometimes even preen your wings too if he’s not too busy.

— if you take band or theatre arts in school or figure skating, acrobatics or just SOMETHING that includes performances, sunday doesn’t give a shit if he has something to do, he will find a way to go to every single one bc he doesn’t wanna disappoint you as an older brother :(

— pats your head. a lot. literally a mom-sibling, you can’t tell me otherwise. will occasionally pick your outfits and asks for your opinion before you go out or make sure your school uniform is crisp and unwrinkled. (if your school has uniforms.)

— the best, nicest, loving, caring older sister you will ever have in your entire lifespan.

— like sunday, she would help you in any way possible. but she’s not the best when it comes to math homework :(( if you want, she’ll give you a pep talk though!! and trust me, robin gives out the best ad most encouraging pep talks ever like..

— if you do something hella devious, even if its 101% your fault, she’d side with you no matter what. this girl hardly gets to be silly due to her superstar reputation but when she has the chance, plz just let her be. (yall can be devious together.)

— would brush your hair for you!! it doesn’t matter whether you have short or long ass rapunzel-looking hair, she will somehow find a way to style it.

— definitely sang you songs during your childhood, and she still does! robin would hum a tune when you can’t sleep, or you simply just wanna destress and don’t feel like doing anything else. <3

— also like sunday, since she travels a lot, she’ll always make up for the lost time by brinking trinkets and gifts, maybe even bring you along with her during her one of her tours!

— also incredibly supportive in your passions! want to become a performer like her? she’ll be there rooting for you on the sidelines! wanna learn to sing and follow in her footsteps? sure, she’ll gladly teach you for free! (not like you had to pay anyway teehee.)

— robin would be somewhat protective of you as well, just not too strictly. after all, you should experience as much of the outside world as you can. 🎀

— i feel like she’s a horrible money spender.. (same..) if robin sees you glance at a piece of jewelry or smth hella expensive for 0.00001 nanoseconds, suddenly it’s in a gift bag at your desk when you get home from school with a little note from her along with some pastries she thought you’d like.

— if you gift her something, whether its handmade or you bought it with your own money, chances are she’ll keep it for the rest of eternity and repay you with a gift of her choice as well!!

— overall, robin is a sweet and soft older sister and is always there for you, no matter the distance that separates you!

MMMM twins au with danny and dan except its og TUE timeline danny and dan

ok okay i neeeeed o write this down and share it before i explode buT. as the title says. twins danny and dan (who im going to be calling James/Jamie bc i cannot express how much i despise the name dan) where, instead of disappearing into the ghost zone after he's separated from danny's body, Dan rips out Vlad's ghost half, tears THAT in half, and fuses one half with himself and the other with Danny.

Shit happens, and BOOM. Two morally ambiguous and perhaps slightly murderous demonic twins from hell. Daniel James Fenton and his Twin WHose Always Been Here What Are You Talking About :) James Daniel Fenton. They are both depressed, lonely, and one bad day from becoming a mass extinction event :)

this is because i got grabbed by the hair today and dragged into the SVSS fandom screaming and the fanart of Shen Jiu/Shen Yuan/Shen Quingqiu (????) with his fan entranced me. Ice Prince Core is my favorite thing so naturally i have to implant that onto my favorite blorbos ever :)

After the Incident, both their appearances changed and they're practically identical to each other. Sorta. They both have heterochromia and salt-and-pepper hair. But Danny has one green eye and one blue eye and white hair with black streaks, while Jamie has one blue eye and one green eye and black hair with white streaks. I'm iving them both long hair, for funsies <3

nobody can tell them apart, they keep getting confused on whose who and frankly the mix-match hair and eyes make it worse not better asjd. they're horrifically codependent. please do not separate :)

and because i must. im pulling a blood blossom/tales of the passerine and giving them to pre-robin batman. batman and his terrifying demon(??) twins. nobody is quite sure if they're human or not, and the scourge of gotham are a little too terrified to ask.

(they dont HAVE to go to batman while he's pre-robin. however. i think its much funnier that way bc gotham isn't use to A) Batman having kids, and B) Batman having TERRIFYING kids yet. think of all the new fun rumors)

they both use war fans while they're out, and neither of them use their ghost forms because they at least have the remaining empathy to know that they're more likely to murder someone accidentally as a ghost :). Ghost form is for fellow mythicals and Functionally Immortals Only! Not for Squishy Humans.

After a long work out, all I wanted to do was get into the shower and relax for the rest of the night. As I opened the door to my apartment, I sensed something was off. I tossed my duffle bag down on the ground and went to the kitchen and pulled out my handgun from underneath the counter. 

I loaded it quietly and I looked around the dark apartment. Taking a few slow steps, I turned the corner to go into my bedroom, and had a gun pressed to someone’s head. “It’s not smart to come into an apartment that has guns.” I say and the person turned around slowly and swept my legs out from underneath me. 

The gun flew down the hall, and I punched the person in the face, and twisted around their torso, bringing them down to the ground. Once I was on top of them, the voice chuckled, “Y/N, it’s just me. It’s Dick.” I flipped on the light switch, and sure enough, Dick was underneath me. 

I jumped up to my feet, “Oh my gosh...I thought you were an intruder.” Dick stood up and he smiled, while pulling me into a hug. His cologne was a mix of bourbon and oak, the familiar scent made me think back to when we were dating. 

But the sound of footsteps made me look around Dick’s shoulder. A girl with black and purple hair, slowly approached the two of us. “Hi, what’s your name?” I asked and she looked at Dick.

“This is Rachel. She’s the reason I’m here, Y/N. I need your help.” he said, and I looked down at my feet. I honestly had hoped he was here for me... But I knew what he meant; he needed a place to lay low, and time to figure things out. 

“Okay. Well, you guys can stay here with me until we figure things out.” I turned on the lamps and closed all of the blinds and curtains. Dick was getting some things from his car, and Rachel was sitting quietly on the couch. 

I sat down next to her, “You can watch some TV if you want. I also have some books in the spare room, and I can order you a pizza if you’d like.” I say, and she gave me a small smile.

“Thank you.” she whispered, and something to the side caught her attention. Rachel picked up a picture that was tucked underneath a book on the coffee table. When I caught a glimpse of the picture, it was a picture of me and Dick. We were at some party, and he was smiling down at me, while I smiled at the camera. 

She smiled, “So, I’m assuming you two were a thing?” she questioned, and I nodded. “But not anymore?” I nodded yet again, knowing her next question was going to be: why?

“Um, well, we uh... I’m not sure actually. We just grew apart, disagreed on some things, and he moved.” I said before standing up. “I will go order you a pizza before it gets too late.” I tried to change the subject before it had to get any deeper. 

Seeing Dick was hard enough and talking about the past wasn’t making matters any better. When we broke up, it wasn’t on good terms. Dick was angry. He couldn’t control himself when it came to dealing with criminals, and I didn’t agree with how he handled some things. 

“Dick, you can’t just go around beating them like a sociopath! Bruce says we need to-”

“I don’t care what Bruce says, Y/N. That guy was beating his wife! She was his personal punching bag and they let him go unscathed!” Dick yelled, and I flinched. He had never yelled at me like that before. After he had seen my worried expression, his face softened. Dick rubbed his face out of irritation, “Look, Y/N, I’m sorry-”

Before he could finish, I raised my hand up in the air, “Maybe we need to re-evaluate this situation in the morning, alright?” I said before walking to the bedroom and closing the door. I leaned against the bedroom door as I heard glass hit the wall and shatter. Shaking my head, I looked at the picture of when we were truly happy. 

Before the black widower and Robin consumed our every ounce of being and controlled every aspect of our life. I took the picture and slammed it shut between pages of an old book. 

The next day, we never re-evaluated the situation; instead, we decided to break-up. Our pride got in the way of apologizing to one another, and neither of us really said sorry, or try to find common ground.

After eating, Rachel fell asleep in the spare bedroom, and Dick was making a spot to sleep on my bedroom floor. After I turned off the lights, and climbed into bed, I looked over at Dick. “You know, you can just sleep up here. There’s plenty of space.” I say while looking up at the ceiling.

“I don’t know if that’s a good idea.” he said, and I didn’t even question why. But after I had closed my eyes and got comfortable, I felt the other side of the bed dip. “Is this the same mattress?” he asked, and I propped myself up on my arm. 

“Yep. Same mattress and pillows.” I say and he looked at me with a smile. He laid back and groaned, “You have no idea how much I missed this mattress and- is this my pillow?” he asked, and I chuckled.

“Mhm. I couldn’t get rid of it.” I say and Dick turned on his side to face me. I laid back down, and we were staring at each other. The moon was shining in through the window, and I could see half of his face. His brown eyes still made my heart skip a beat, “Has-” he cleared his throat. “Has anyone else slept in this bed?” he asked, and I shook my head.

“As hard as it is to believe, I couldn’t bring myself to move on, Dick.” I whispered, and I stared at his lips. “The pillow- I kept it because it smells like you. It comforted me and I felt safe. I’m sorry I didn’t say sorry, Dick. And for just letting you go.” 

He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, “I’m sorry for yelling at you. You didn’t deserve that, Y/N/N.”

We looked into each other’s eyes, and then at each other’s lips. I moved in closer to him, and his lips lingered over mine, and they were barely touching. But when our eyes met again, he whispered, “Fuck it” and pulled me by the back of my neck to kiss him. 

The kisses were hungry, and his lips were soft. He tasted like fresh mint, and I melted against his touch. His fingertips pressed into my thighs, dragging me closer to his body, and before I knew it he was on top of me. 

Our lips never disconnected, and he grabbed the buttons of my night shirt and ripped it open. He lifted up my back, so he could get rid of the pajama top, and work on getting my shorts off. 

I laid bare underneath him, and he began to pull off his own shirt and sweatpants. “You look beautiful.” he whispered as he pressed kisses along my thighs, all the way up to my chest.

It was like our first time over again- I was shy and scared for him to see my body. I was vulnerable in front of him all over again. But at the same time, we were picking up where we left off. His abs were more defined now, and my hand traced along the all too familiar scars on his chest.

His brown eyes looked down into mine, “I’m sorry, Y/N. I should’ve never left. I should’ve fought for us.” He whispered and I connected our lips again.

She was a villain.

Villains didn't get happy endings.

Regina hurried away from Granny's Diner as the scene of an overjoyed Robin being reunited with the wife he had believed dead played over in her head. Each time it felt like another knife being driven into her heart as she berated herself for believing she could be happy.

"Regina!" Robin's voice echoed across the street. "Regina, wait!"

She stopped, looking back at Granny's. Robin stood there, looking anguished. He started to step off the curb and her heart sped up as hope dangerously spread through her.

But then Marian emerged from the diner, looking confused. She hurried to Robin, grabbing his arm. He stopped and they exchanged words. He glanced at Regina and she knew that he was going to choose Marian.

There was no competition, honestly. It didn't matter that they were soulmates. Marian was his wife. He had chosen to spend the rest of his life with her once before and it was only natural that he would do it again, especially since they shared a son. Roland deserved to have two parents in a healthy, loving relationship.

Both he and Robin deserved better than her.

They deserved Marian.

She was a hero who had led the Merry Men right at her husband's side. Like him, she stole from the rich and redistributed their wealth to those who needed it most. Marian had not been afraid to stand up for what she believed was right, no matter the cost.

Marian was the exact opposite of her.

No one would choose her over Marian.

It was the deciding moment, she realized. Marian tugged on Robin's hand and started to walk back toward the entrance. He stood in place but he would have to choose soon. And Regina knew he would follow his wife. He would turn his back on her.

She would not watch that.

Waving her hands in front of her, she engulfed herself in a cloud of her magic. She felt a familiar tug on her stomach as if an invisible string was pulling her forward. Her body felt weightless and her feet dangled underneath her. Regina waited until the tugging stopped and she felt her body again along with something solid under her feet.

The magic dissipated to reveal her foyer.

She was home.

Regina took off her shoes and started walking upstairs, unsure if she needed a bath or to go straight to bed. Maybe when she woke up in the morning, she would learn this was all a very bad dream.

But she knew she would wake up and realize the nightmare continued.

Just as she entered her bedroom, her doorbell echoed around the house. She decided to ignore it, guessing it was David or Mary Margaret coming to check on her. Or maybe it was Emma wanting to beg for forgiveness again.

The Charmings were the last people she wanted to see.

She unzipped her dress and slid it off her body, hanging it up. Regina removed her robe from its hanger and slipped it on, deciding on a bath before turning in for the night.

Turning back to her door, she jumped when she saw Robin standing there. He leaned against the doorway, watching her. "Hello, Regina," he said.

"Robin," she said, breathlessly. She then squared her shoulders before asking: "How did you get in? Did you pick my lock?"

"Not this time," he replied. "Henry told me where you keep the spare key."

She frowned, feeling betrayed by her son. Regina believed that Henry likely had done it because he cared for her and wanted to help but this time, he had made the wrong decision.

"Why are you here?" she asked, crossing her arms.

"We need to talk," he said, stepping closer to her.

She held up her hands, stopping him. "No, we don't. I get it. You're picking your wife. I lose again. So just go home. I don't need your words or empty platitudes."

He stood there, sorrow in his eyes, and she nodded as she pushed past him. She had just reached her door when he said: "I'm choosing you."

"What?" she asked, wondering if she had misheard him. Or maybe she had fallen asleep and was dreaming this.

Regina didn't know what was worse.

He turned toward her. "Look, I'm not going to pretend Marian's return doesn't change many things but one thing it doesn't change are my feelings for you."

"She's your wife," Regina reminded him. "Just yesterday you were saying you would've crawled through hell to get her back."

"Until I met you," he said, stepping closer to her. "I love you, Regina."

She swallowed, still not trust her own ears. But she wasn't going to let the moment go without telling him how she felt. "I love you too."

He smiled, reaching out and gently taking her arm. "Then I think we're in a pretty good place."

"So you just decided that you didn't love your wife anymore?" she asked. "Just like that?"

"No, I wouldn't say that," he replied, slipping his hands into his pockets as he paused. He took a deep breath before continuing. "I was happy to see her. She was my wife and still is Roland's mother. The fact she's alive again is a miracle and something to be happy about."

He paused again. "But when I saw you leave, I knew I had to go to you. Even from across the street, I could see how sad you were and I hated that I was responsible for it."

A lump formed in her throat. "So you're here to alleviate your guilt. Got it."

"No," he insisted, looking anguished. He ran his hand through his hair. "Gods, I'm messing this up."

"I think you should go," she said, pointing to her door. "I think you need time to figure out who you want."

He shook his head. "I know who I want. When I look into Marian's eyes, I don't feel the same way I do when I look into yours."

She wanted to believe him, wanted to believe someone was finally choosing her at last. But she knew it was too good to be true and shook her head. "It's only been a few hours, Robin. That will change," she told him.

"Regina," he started, taking another step closer to her.

"No," she said, putting her hands up. "Please. If you really want to prove you care about me, you'll leave rather than continue spouting promises you'll break in a few days."

He nodded, a resolved look in his eyes. "I'll leave then. But I promise you, Regina, I will prove that I love you and have chosen you. Goodnight."

Robin left her bedroom, closing the door behind him. She slid down the wall and cried, wanting to believe she would get her happy ending but knowing it was going to slip from her fingers yet again.

Villains don't get happy endings.

things you want to see the most in s5? (other than byler endgame)

Oh, I really just want to see the whole party interact with each other and for the show to actually show the boys working together. I miss their friendship so much. I also like the idea of an Lucas/El team up but I’m definitely setting myself up for disappointment here because I can feel in my bones that they’re just gonna make it all about El…

Honestly, Lucas and Erica need a scene where they comfort each other/get comforted by others and I want it to revolve around just them! I just really need what happened with the basketball team to be addressed. 100% setting myself up for disappointment with this one as well…

I also desperately need Dustin to get a break from his interactions with Steve. They were great in s2, s3 was still kinda fun but s4 was too much. I seriously cannot handle Dustin/Steve interactions anymore. I want Dustin’s trauma regarding Eddie’s death to actually get a focus, preferably Dustin talking about it to friends that aren’t Steve.

I’m excited to see what they’re gonna do with Vickie and I’m still holding onto my delusional hope of getting a Robin/Vickie/Erica team up haha.

I need the Byers family to interact again and I need them to get a focus outside of El and Hopper. Like, I get that they wanted to showcase that El and Joyce have grown close but I hated how they put a focus on them at the end of s4 when they reunite. I would’ve much rather seen Jonathan, Joyce and Will’s reunion than just them hugging already and then having Joyce reunite with El as if she’s the light of her life lmao. Honestly same with the reunion at the hospital with Lucas/Mike/Will and Lucas/El. I get that it’s there to show that El and Lucas will probably be teamed up in some way next season but I really just didn’t like how Lucas’ reunion with his best friends felt so unimportant in comparison. So yeah, I really need the show to show how strong the other dynamics are instead of undermining them in favor of showing that El is important to them as well.

I also want Will to interact more with other characters and obviously I’m super excited to find out everything regarding the upside down and 001 and Will’s disappearance and connection to it all!! I don’t analyze that part of the show too much myself because I do want to keep some mystery and surprise for me in s5. I’ve been reading and reposting stuff from others but again, I’m not trying to find out what’s happening in that corner of the show beforehand. Which means I’ve been growing very fucking excited for this part of the show (as if I wasn’t exited for that before lmao). I’m also actually very excited to get more information on Will’s childhood.

Mr. Clarke coming back is also a need btw! I fell in love with this man when I first watched stranger things and it’s a crime that he wasn’t in s4 😭. Very confident that he’ll come back in s5 though as to me excluding him from s4 was a very deliberate choice. And if he doesn’t return I’m not watching /j.

There are probably more things that I’d love to see which I can’t remember right now though so that’s all you get :).

The Marginal Service Episode 7 Review: Doubt Clouds Friendship

Rubber’s plan with Robin and Bolts is a cruel one. He wants them to stir doubts and distrust into each other so that they’d become enemies and kill each other. Fortunately, it did work as the two became enemies as they were before.

Learning about Robin and Bolts’ backstories and how they coincided with each other makes it understandable why they don’t get along, but I do wonder why they haven’t learned about this. They knew about each other’s background, but they didn’t seem to know that they were part of secret organizations that opposed each other. The fighting makes sense but the fact that they let their doubts cloud their mind and fight without proper communication made it a tad annoying.

They both lost someone they loved because of the other. Robin had lost his girlfriend Maria while Bolts lost his dog Ernie. It turns out that they were alive all along. I had a feeling they’d both be alive the moment the dog showed up earlier in the episode. I’m glad both are alive, honestly. I hope that Robin and Maria will reunite again.

While the episode was serious, the moment Brian showed up to stop the fist fight and gets hit in the process was hilarious. Poor Brian. He’s still the butt of the gags in this anime. I forgot what Zeno did in this episode, but I don’t care since I don’t like him.

It sucks that Lyra, Pecks and Cyrus bailed out in this episode. I wanted to see them. Well, they aren’t combat-oriented people, so it makes sense that they have to get off the battlefield as soon as possible.

When Rubber got shot, he got electricity coming out of his wounds. Is he a robot? It makes me wonder what he is exactly. I wonder what his true form looks like. 

Overall, I wonder where this anime will be heading. Will Rubber escape again? Will the four Marginal Service members still fight him on the island? I just hope it’ll be executed well.

fourth gear luffy was very cool!! also seeing devil fruit awakening powers in action (for the first time, i think?) really cool and opens up a lot of options for how fruit powers can be used in the future!

USOPP AWAKENING OBSERVATION HAKI!!! MY BOY (also, in knocking sugar out the second time, the method was very funny. it was also funny the first time but it was funnier the second time.) also god usopp...iconic

i am DELIGHTED by bartolomeo, he is such a lovable dipshit. also for new characters, issho is a pretty rad dude, especially compared to...most of the admirals we’ve seen so far. he has a legitimate sense of non-sociopathic justice and isn’t blind to the flaws o. is aware of the flaws of the world government and their overreach and corruption. also glad to see sabo and luffy reuniting

my bellamy woobification arc...this dude is just straight up having a bad time

CORA MY BELOVED...god, law’s flashback is one of the hardest-hitting flashbacks in the series so far, probably up there with brook’s and nami’s (robin’s is still the most devastating to me)

okay time for me to be a hater. i simply do not care for law very much outside of when he’s trying to be Badass McCoolGuy and being reminded that he lives in a cartoon world and has formed an alliance with the cartooniest guy in that world. there are way too many times in this arc where there’s a death fakeout, then it turns out he’s not dead, and it’s just like. come on, man. his powers as shown in the previous arc are already insanely broken to the point it feels like there’s little-to-no tension in a lot of the fights he’s involved in somehow. 

i did not care for half the crew going off to zou partway through the arc and being offscreened entirely. 

ughhhhhhhhh everything about rebecca’s writing kind of sucks ass! this has been talked about in excruciating detail before but she ultimately does nothing of substance and is forced to be rescued multiple times. despite supposedly being one of the greatest gladiators in dressrosa, she’s repeatedly put in situations where she cowers in a corner, sobbing for someone to save her. the resolution to her “fight” with diamante, with her big strong dad coming in and going “girls shouldn’t fight! you need to remain Pure and Pristine!!” would probably have come off as incredibly sexist no matter what, but if there had been more of a focus on rebecca being forced to fight despite not wanting to, and in her feeling guilt over hurting and defeating the other contestants, it could have felt slightly less insulting

maybe i wouldn’t have minded them so much if not for the stupid introductory scene where they crawl into robin’s dress (speaking of women who get sidelined hard in this arc...hoo boy) and the consistent official translation phonetically writing their dialogue in cutesy baby talk but like. they do nothing for me. i do not care for them. 

the same goes for, uh, basically all the gladiators? and also basically all the executives (except senor pink) ??  we spend a hell of a lot of time watching a bunch of dudes we’ve never met before this arc and have no emotional connection to fighting a bunch of other dudes we’ve never met before this arc, and honestly instead of introducing 50 new characters i would have preferred the offscreened strawhats get to fight instead. 

because of the multiple plotlines, it feels like we jump around every 2-3 chapters to a different story, and as a result, it feels like not much progress is made in each line. i really hope other people who were reading this were super invested in all of the plots because otherwise you spend multiple chapters in a row waiting to get back to the shit you actually care about 

overall i’d say the arc is...there are parts about it that work (everything that directly involves doflamingo, the doffy vs. luffy fight, issho) but unfortunately a lot that feels like it’s spinning our wheels waiting to finish up the main plot. i appreciate the dark parallels to alabasta and the vision of “here’s what would have happened if crocodile had won”, but i feel like alabasta handled it much more concisely, with characters i was more invested in, and allowed all the strawhats (and vivi) to be a key part of stopping the villain’s plan instead of having half of them leave halfway through the arc

Honestly, the main problem with Sylvain lies within the reason WHY he is flirting with girl.

Like, the idea of someone as traumatized as he is using this as a way of coping and then it is treated as a joke ... is bad. Really. And this coupled with his flirting ends up damaging his character because he has a character outside of flirting : his complicated relationship with the Crest system and his brother, he is a pretty clever guy and is actually interesting ... when he is not trying to woo you or when the plot finally stop making fun of him, which I repeat, results from trauma, for that.

The difference between him and Inigo is that Inigo isn't doing it because of his trauma, but because he is shy and it's the only way he can talk with people without becoming all flustered and the only reason why he is shy is because of Shy DNA comming from Olivia rather the a side effect of having grown up in the literal apocalypse. He has a character outside of flirting too and in Awakening, he doesn't flirt much with the ladies of the cast, just Kjelle, Severa and Female Robin... and a bit with Female Morgan. Now granted, he still have supports that are talking about his flirting habits to make him sound like an idiot and make fun of him and the Awakening localization sort added to this so stuff like him being contanstly robbed off and tricked by female thieves aren't funny, but are showing his behaviour is actually putting other at risk. Because the Awakening localization did added some difference to his support : like the awful Nah one, when he though he was dying, he wasn't talking about women, he was saying he though he finally reunited with his parents or the one with Noire where rather then him flirting with literal paper, Noire was making a remark he only flirt with women he doesn't consider to be friend.....but other then that he has a character. His support with Olivia or his B-A support with his father show that, there is his dialogue with Owain in Harvest Scramble and with Robin in Spring Scramble : one evokes when he had to kill a human for the first time and was not feeling ok at all. The other is about how he thinks he can't stay with Olivia because "well, she isn't my actual mother, I ain't her actual son so I can't steal that from my past self because I ain't him" and Robin giving him actual confidence on Olivia's love for him, or his contribution in the Future Past 2 DLC; or his own dialogue in Infinte Regalia or Death's Embrace. And then, when he reappareas but as Laslow, I think pretty much anyone agrees that he has the best support in the Entire cast. It does a much better job at showing he has a character outside of "I-I flirt because I am shuy uwu" like even the one where he does flirt such was with Corrin, he actually gives her real advice compared to the support with Robin where we have to wait till support A for her to be like "oh, ok he isn't just a flirting idiot, he actually cares for his friends", no he actuall he gets to speaks about how he has to deal with separating with people. He is literaly one of the only character that helps Peri deals with her issue. He helps Felicia who is shy and clumsy. His supports with Azura are a genuine gem. He also gives some tips to Mozu, ..; heck his only BAD support is with Hanna. The only one.

There is also the drama CD where he is shown to be a responsible guy and when Gerome refused to leave the future, he insisted that he would stay with him just so that Gerome and Minerva don't remain alone. And the fact that in Birthright, he is the ONLY one of the Trio to canonically die even if you don't kill him in the map shows his devotion towards Xander.

While his flirting can easliy get old past, at least it isn't damaging his character compared to Sylvain, who is much better post timeskip and also better in Hopes since he cuts it out faster.

So yeah, those two too have a character and some depth other then "haha flirty guy idiot laugh funny"

late night realization that the reason I don't like the flirty guys in modern fe is that it's basically their entire personality. "but inigo/sylvain/etc are actually traumatized, there's a reason they act like that!" yeah, they are, and it's bad character writing to have a Big Dramatic Reveal hold up a substandard personality, especially when "haha wacky womanizing antics" is that personality. I say this as someone who actually likes inigo and sylvain. it's frustrating because it's one-facet character writing.

"but the contrast between the wacky antics and the dramatic reveal is what makes those characters any good!" there have been funny flirty guys where the dramatic reveal is that... they actually have a character outside of just flirting

like, Saul is actually a high-ranking member of the church who's trusted enough to be on a mission looking for the Fire Emblem. Igrene doesn't believe in God, but respects his belief that God wants people to overcome their hardships by themselves. he calls Oro a disgrace to the church. he does all this while remaining funny haha man

Sain from Blazing Blade also has his moments. tells Kent to talk to Lyn about his feelings. apparently an excellent subcommander of the knights and was beloved by the common people. he's incredibly loyal to the point it botches his Priscilla ending because he won't go to Etruria with her. memes on Lundgren because he's besties with Kent. he gets main story dialogue where he calls Darin despicable when he hears that he left his son behind to die. he also does this while remaining funny haha man

in conclusion: characters being deep is good, them not being that is bad, also play blazing blade it's fun

You were currently at Bradley’s with the kids, nancy and johnathan - trying to find a space where el can locate dustin.

After she locates him, and after Lucas’ episode with his coke (coke isn’t better, btw) you all decide to do some necessary shopping for supplies.

You’re worried about steve. you haven’t heard from him for the whole day. Is he safe? Is he in danger?

A hundred scenarios swivel in your mind of the current state that steve might be in. Nancy notices how much quieter you’ve gone.

“Hey y/n. Are you alright? You’ve been a little quiet today.” Nancy walks alongside you while the younger kids and johnathan walk ahead of you. You’ve always liked nancy. She is a great student and she’s always caring for others before herself.

“Yea i’m okay, i’m just worried about steve. I haven’t heard from him yet and it’s been a few hours.” you say as you fiddle with the hem of your shirt, clearly showing your anxiety. Nancy notices and stops you in your tracks, giving you a long hug.

“He’s fine, y/n. You know steve. He’s so stubborn and strong-minded. I’m sure that whatever is thrown at him, he will be able to handle. No questions asked.”

You both get in the car and make your way to Starcourt , where El supposedly located Dustin. Your heart sped up a bit. You hope that Steve will be with him, and that he would be alright. Little did you know the condition that you would find Steve in. But for now, curiosity brewed in your stomach.

You finally arrived at starcourt, glancing at the bright neon sign before entering through the glass doors.

El led you to the center of the mall where you has a clear view of every shop, the escalator in front of you. You saw his hair before you saw him, running towards him full speed with an ache in your chest. You missed him.

You don’t think steve has ever looked this bad, not even after his fight with johnathan last year. “Jesus steve, what did they do to you? Who did this to you?” you state , your hand lightly caressing his face. Your motions stop when you see him wince when you touch along his eye, beaten to a blue-purple colour.

Before steve can open his mouth to tell you what happened Robin beats him to it. “He fought off like . . . ten russian guys at this underground russian base we found. There was this general guy and he gave us this weird injection and we couldn’t stop laughing and then we watched this movie about a mom trying to bang her son. Honestly? What has the world become?” Robin must have run out of breath, because steve finally got a chance to speak. “Okay thanks robin, we get it.” he says as he pushes robin to nancy so he could finally speak to you.

“So robin got you caught up pretty well. It was a russian military base and they wanted answers that i couldn’t tell them.” he says as he lotions to robin and facing you again.

“I’m just glad that you’re okay. If i’m honest, it looks kind of hot.” you joke as you ruffle his hair and giving him a calm smile. Internally you weren’t calm. Not at all. How did your boyfriend get messed up in all of this in the first place? What russian base? How did they get there?

Steve notices you’ve gone quiet but before he can say anything the roof of starcourt is shattering above you and a large spider-like arm reaches down.

As everyone screams and seeks shelter you get separated from steve who looks absolutely terrified as mike and nancy grab each of your arms and pulls you under a counter.

The battle is now in full swing. You, nancy , will and mike are running out of fireworks, and el can only hold on for a while. Billy came strolling into starcourt , heading straight for el. You run past el and try to distract billy, throwing him with nearby salt and pepper shakers. He turns to you , looking at you with a deadly smile. You mumble a soft ‘oh shit’ before making a run for it.

From the second floor , steve notices a furious billy running after you, and let out the loudest scream he ever has. “Hey asshole! Up here!” that caught billy’s attention but before steve could blink, billy had you in his grip, whispering into your ear, “So fancy seeing you here my dear. It’s been far too long.” before grabbing you by your hair, dragging you to the mind flayer.

El suddenly grabs billy’s arm , as she was the one he was originally looking for. At the same time, she looked at Billy and spoke to him about his mother and the memory she had seen about them.

Billy is dead. He died protecting max and her friends. You all. Steve swears he’s never run this fast in his life, stopping abruptly infront of your figure lying on the cold floor. You felt weak, and the room was spinning from all the adrenaline in your system. Steve cradled your head in his hands, like a baby. “You’re gonna be okay. The ambulance will be here soon.” Steve’s hands are shaking so much that you can feel your whole head shake slightly. You try to lighten the mood a bit.

“I look so hot right now.” you laugh and winch , a sharp pain shooting through your stomach. Steve laughs and shakes his head. Even when you’re in so much pain, you’re still joking and making him smile.

Soon enough the ambulance arrives and steve along with Nancy rides with you. Steve is sure he fell in love with you a little bit more than he already was, if that is possible.

Nancy is also sure he became ten times more protective about you after the whole incident, barely letting you out of his sight. Driving you to school, dropping you off at home and spending every single free moment with you.

“You know, when i go to college, you can’t be this clingy. You can’t go everywhere with me.” you joke as he lays splayed out on your bed, listening to the music softly playing from your vinyl player in the corner of your room.

Steve sits up on his elbows, looking at you with a sassy expression on his face. “Yea we’ll see about that sweetheart.” he stands up from your bed and embraces you in a hug. “S’wanna protect you” he says and kisses your head.

You loved moments like this with steve. Him being clingy and protective. It made you feel safe.

“I know, s��why i love you so much.” you smile and kiss him.

hiii!! i'm so glad you asked, i still haven't recovered from this season i swear

[HUGE STRANGER THINGS S4 SPOILERS AHEAD]

first of all i was not expecting them to go with a more 'horror' vibe this season. i was actually talking about it with a friend who doesn't watch it and she thought the whole series was horror? stranger things is not horror. idk what genre i'd say it is, but definitely not that lmao

however the whole demon vibe was really interesting and i was actually a bit spooked in some scenes (chrissy's hallucinations and also victor creel's memories? the burning crib was so disturbing)

speaking of chrissy (and the other victims), i felt so bad for them, she especially seemed like such a nice girl and i was expecting her to have more importance as a character, idk why. i also found the scene in the forest with eddie v v cute, and i would have loved to see their friendship grow :(

i found myself a bit less interested in the actual plot than i was while watching the other seasons lol i really wanted to see how the relationships between all the characters would evolve!! although i used to ship mileven, i'm starting to see byler's potential but unfortunately i don't think it'll go anywhere :( it'll probably stay unrequited, so i hope they give will another love interest so that he can be happy!!

also it's such a shame that they haven't developed AT ALL the relationship between robin and the girl played by the anne with an e actress (sorry i don't remember her name 😫), and i hope they'll do them justice in part 2.

i have no idea where they want to go with the steve/nancy/jonathan thing. i just know i'm a Steve Harrington Stan TM and if they even consider the idea of killing him off i will sue so hard

also i love love love eddie (poor bby forced to be on the run after everything that happened to him!! someone give him a hug) and argyle (10/10 i actually laughed out loud whenever he was around). about argyle, the fact that he fell in love at first sight with suzie's sister was very sweet and i also loved that girl!! she seemed so cool

again: if they kill eddie they'll hear from my lawyers

i also loved enzo (is that what he was called? lmao) and his friendship with hopper + murray and joyce chaotically trying to get him back. and their hug when they reunited :((( please get married

my favourite scene was OBVIOUSLY when they saved max. don't even get me started i get legit emotional just thinking about it. running up that hill has been on repeat 24/7

in conclusion: i really loved this season and i honestly can't wait for the second part!! i love this series so much and every season has been such a cultural reset ugh it's amazing

Hiii!! I really love your tumblr posts and I'm pretty new to the Batfam (meaning I have only read fics and textposts about them, no comics) and I wanted to ask about the year Bruce/Batman gets "lost in time". I know general things of what the kids have been doing–Dick became batman and fired Tim from robin, giving it to Damian, everyone thinking Tim was crazy for believing Bruce was alive, (don't really know what Jason was up to though, was he still murderous towards Tim? Does the pit still affect him? Also I have no idea about Cass and Duke, were they introduced at this point??) Anyways, my real question was why was Bruce lost in time, what villain put him there? And how did he get out? And how long was he "dead"? Was Bruce in another reality or like just asleep the whole time? Oh! And how soon did this happen after Damian got introduced to the family–a couple months?

I'm so sorry this is so long, but I hope you answer and thank you!!

(I’m going to try and cover all my bases here by going into how exactly Bruce “died,” what went down during the Battle For the Cowl, what the Batkids did while Bruce was gone, and how Bruce came back. Hopefully it all makes sense?? We’ll see how it goes lmao.)

Part 1 - What Happened to Bruce:

So there was this event called Final Crisis (which I won’t go completely into since it would make this post a million times longer than it already is), but the bottom line is that Darkseid wants to overthrow reality and release his Anti-Life Equation, which would overthrow the whole planet and turn everyone into slaves. (If you’re interested in knowing more about the storyline, here’s a Reddit thread that explains it WAY better than I could.) 

What I CAN tell you is that during his final confrontation with Darkseid, Bruce is hit by an Omega Beam and turned into a burnt chicken nugget killed. Poor guy.

Final Crisis #6

Clark and Diana bring the body back to the Batcave and break the news to the Batfamily. Batman #687 covers a good portion of the aftermath such as Bruce’s funeral, the Batfamily grieving, and Dick coming to terms with his new responsibility of becoming Batman.

Part 2 - Battle For the Cowl: 

Musical chairs time, fellas! After word gets out that Batman is gone, Gotham erupts into chaos. Dick doesn’t want to take over the mantle, Tim needs Dick to take over the mantle, and Jason says “fuck it” and takes over the mantle himself because somebody around here has to. He becomes this murderous psychopathic Batman and starts taking out criminals with deadly force because someone’s gotta do the job, so it might as well be him.

Batman: Battle For the Cowl #1

(Okay honestly, this series had some pretty bad characterization overall, which sucks since it’s such an important storyline. Jason is portrayed as this violent psychopath, which...okay, he was kind of insane after the Pit and all, but not to this degree. Personally, I choose to owe the bad characterization to Bruce’s death because as much as Jason resents Bruce for all he’s done, he does still love him and losing him would be devastating, which would exacerbate his already fragile mental health. As for Damian, this happens roughly three years after his first appearance, so we can assume it’s been a few months since he first joined the family. He’s still relatively new at this point, so nobody knows how to write him yet. He ends up being depicted as if his main two personality traits are Bratty and Assassin-Child and that’s it. It’s all just a mess.)

Anyway, Tim tells Dick to become Batman and stop Jason’s reign of terror. Dick says no, so Tim follows Jason’s lead by saying “fuck it” and putting on the cowl himself. He goes to confront Jason, which ends in Jason beating the crap out of him (again) and leaving him for dead after Tim declines his offer to become Jason’s Robin. Dick goes to save Tim and ends up fighting Jason. 

Battle For the Cowl #3

Dick wins, Jason disappears, Tim is fine, and Dick finally gets his head out of his ass and becomes Batman. 

Part 3 - What Happens to Each Batkid While Bruce is “Dead”?:

Dick: 

As I said, Dick becomes the new Batman a month after Bruce’s death. He’s got big shoes to fill, and it takes some time for him to get used to his new role. He and Damian end up flipping around the classic Batman and Robin dynamic, with Batman now as the fun counterpart to Robin’s edginess. Dick, Damian, and Alfred relocate to the penthouse above the Wayne Foundation building, operating out of a secret Bat-Bunker in the basement.

Jason: 

After Battle For the Cowl, Jason is still batshit insane and determined to make Dick’s already stressful life even harder by becoming a supervillain with an ugly costume and an even uglier hairstyle. (I know it’s just because the artist sucked, but still. Jason is horrifying to look at during this time.) He mostly just gets on Dick’s nerves by running around Gotham with his new sidekick Scarlet and killing criminals as Batman and Robin wannabes. Eventually, Dick has Jason committed to Arkham Asylum and he hangs out there until Bruce returns.

Batman and Robin (2009) #5

Tim: 

Tim...doesn’t do great after Bruce’s death, mentally. Dick makes Damian Robin, his reasoning being that Robin is more of a sidekick and he sees Tim as his equal. By making Damian Robin, Dick hopes that it will give him the stability he needs to keep him from straying back toward the “bad” side. (It’s the right move ultimately, although his execution was pretty messed up since he didn’t discuss it with Tim beforehand, but he’s allowed to make mistakes. Dick’s father just died and now he’s in charge of picking up the pieces of their broken family. It’s a lot to handle.) 

Long story short, Tim has a breakdown, realizes that Bruce is alive, dons the Red Robin identity, and cuts ties with his family to travel the world in search of proof. It’s a rough time. 

Red Robin #1

Damian: 

Our little guy becomes Robin! So proud of him! As I explained earlier, Dick makes Damian his Robin with the assumption that it will keep him out of trouble, and he’s right on that account. He mentors Damian, teaching him how to channel his violent instincts into something productive, and it works! Slowly but surely, Damian makes the transition from bratty assassin to actual hero!

Batman and Robin (2009) #22

Cass:

Duke sadly was not introduced at this point in time, so he missed out on all the pandemonium. Cass, however, has been Batgirl for years by now, but she got kind of pushed aside by the writers after Bruce’s death. Bruce disappears shortly after adopting Cass, but once he was “dead,” the writers sort of moved Cass around for a while, not quite knowing what to do with her. First she was with the Outsiders. Then they got disbanded and Cass tried forming a new network of heroes to take over for Batman if needed. Then she helped out in said network during Battle for the Cowl, taking care of a newly ravaged Gotham. Then Cass gave the Batgirl mantle to Stephanie Brown after she became disillusioned with the role, thanks to the loss of her father and mentor. Then Cass picked up and moved to Hong Kong to “follow Bruce’s plans” by continuing whatever work he had set up for her there. It was all very vague and confusing, and Cass more or less got swept under the rug during this time. Thanks, writers.

Batgirl (2009) #1

Part 4 - How Bruce Came Back: 

When the Blackest Night storyline happens, the Justice League realizes that the corpse buried under Bruce’s grave is apparently not the real one and that he’s actually alive out there somewhere! How wild is that! This is further proven by Dick after he places Bruce’s body in a Lazarus Pit to revive, which has the same result because it’s very clearly Not Bruce and they should have listened to Tim from the start.

Batman and Robin (2009) #9

Anyway, what actually happened is that the Omega Beams that Darkseid shot at Bruce didn’t kill him, but rather blasted him back through time to the prehistoric era with his memories wiped. The Omega Energy inside of Bruce ends up catapulting him through various time periods, which is all part of Darkseid’s plan. With each time-hop, Bruce builds up more Omega Energy in his body which, when he gets back to his original time period, will be unleashed and destroy everything.

Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #5

It’s been a little under two years since Final Crisis, though in-universe it’s uncertain exactly how long Bruce has been “dead.” We can assume it’s been a year, give or take. The way he comes back is too scientific and complicated for me to understand, so uhhhh the bottom line is that Tim and a few Leaguers save Bruce at the Vanishing Point and the day is saved! Hooray! 

Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #6

(If you want to read about how it actually goes down, then I seriously recommend reading Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne. It’s only six issues, so it’s a quick read and it explains the situation far better than I ever could.)

Bruce eventually reunites with his family after spying on them for a period of time as Insider to see what has changed in his absence:

After that, things quickly settle back into their new normal. Dick and Damian stay on as Batman and Robin. Bruce goes back to being Batman as well, with him handling Batman Incorporated business and Dick continuing as Gotham’s defender. Tim keeps the Red Robin outfit, Steph stays on as Batgirl, and Cass becomes Black Bat. Jason stays in Arkham for a while before filing an appeal to be moved to a regular prison. He kills 82 inmates in less than a week and gets transferred back to Arkham, which he promptly escapes from. It’s a ride, I tell ya.

Oh anon, this question is amazing, I love it! I saw it when I woke up and since then my brain has been brewing this answer, I was thinking about it as I brushed my teeth and as I was making breakfast, and now I am ready to give you the answer, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed thinking/writing about it!

DC keeps forcing the wrong relationships, and they keep forcing the wrong centre of this supposed family, they make it out to be the Bat-Family when in reality the Bat (Bruce) should have never been invited to this party.

This is why I give you the… Dick-Family!

Oh yeah baby, I am going there. Dick is the centre of this “family”, he is the guy who is actually connected with everyone, he has been around for so long and he has been present when almost all of the remaining characters were introduced! Bruce might have come first but that guy has nothing on Dick Grayson.

Dick has cared and loved for everyone in this family in a true and beautiful way, no matter how much fanon and DC try to tell us otherwise. This man was an amazing son to Bruce and Alfred (my love for Alfred and Dick is brought to you by @hood-ex), a fantastic brother to Jason, Tim and Cass as well as a phenomenal father/older brother to Damian.

Dick Grayson is the centre of this whole thing, and thanks to DC now being an Omniverse I will be able to explain my line of thoughts. But first let me clear some ideas up.

The way I see it Jason would only get along good enough with Dick. I am not here for Jason and Tim having brunch together (honestly, Lobdell, what were you thinking), Jason never cared for Tim, and then writers that didn’t know how the Red Hood worked made him try to kill Tim so, to me, that relationship is non-existent, Jason doesn’t really perceive Tim (yet).

Jason and Damian, listen, I know that there is this fanon theory that Jason knew and cared for Damian while he was in the League, but that is just fanon talk and it doesn’t really fit in canon either. Jason wasn’t really capable of doing much other than fight, and after he was put in the Lazarus Pit he either had to leave because Ra’s wanted to kill him or Talia took him to the All-Castle. So, Jason’s only real interactions with Damian would be when Jason was written as a crazy, blood thirsty dude that actually tried to harm a child. So, him and Damian wouldn’t really have a good relationship (yet).

Jason and Cass… that’s just a no. Jason and Barbara, I mean Barbara was older than Dick when she first met Jason, so they wouldn’t have much of a relationship.

Now, lets move on to how I will make the Dick-Family work.

Dick (bless him) actually talks and listens to people, unlike Bruce, so the change would start there. Let’s set the timeline, I will stand right after the events of Under the Red Hood. Bruce just chose saving Joker over letting Jason kill the Joker and the building they were in exploded.

Batman keeps on being himself (trash) and Jason, having survived the explosion, moves on to keep on building his empire. He really wants to control the drug trade in Gotham, so he works on that, he slowly but surely takes his place as a drug lord again and is a constant pain in Black Mask’s ass.

While Jason is doing that, Dick is trying to put together his life after Bludhaven was attacked with Chemo. Let’s say that Bludhaven isn’t completely erased from the map but he does have to leave so the city can be re-built. He goes to Gotham, where the Red Hood works.

Let’s say that Alfred told Dick who was under the Red Hood, so Dick being a good brother goes looking for Jason. Their first interaction out of the mask wouldn’t be nice, Jason barely remembers his life before the pit and he really is convinced that Dick is the absolute worst.

But then Jason being a nosy man would make an appearance, for some reason, let’s say that he hacks into the Batcave and when he does that he finds some footage… The footage in question would be the one which shows Bruce punching Dick and sort of blaming him for Jason’s death. (Oh yeah, I am going there). The footage will make a memory come to mind, Dick taking Jason on a skying trip.

So, the next time that Dick and Jason see each other is because Jason went looking for Dick and here is where these two actually talk. The way I see it, Dick is more flexible with the no killing rule, he has worked many times with people that are villains or that just have different ways of doing things. So, I think that he would understand where Jason’s coming from with his ideas. As they begin to understand one another Jason begins to recover more and more memories from before the Pit.

They get together once a week and they chat about life as well as vigilante stuff. They become friends.

At the same time Dick is also very good friends with Tim and also acts like the amazing big brother he is with him. They chat, they sometimes work together and one day they come across a very complicated situation involving a new drug being introduced in Gotham.

Dick would call Jason and now both of them and Tim are reunited in a safe house working together so this new drug doesn’t fall in the wrong hands. Jason and Tim wouldn’t really like each other. Both of them are there for Dick and because they have to get the job done.

That’s how I see Dick forming the Dick-Family unconsciously. Hell, I will introduce Barbara now. Do you guys remember that in UtRH Barbara was mad with Bruce and didn’t want to work with him but she was still in contact with Dick? Well, I am using that so it can fit my narrative.

Dick, Jason and Tim need more intel so Dick calls Oracle (real Oracle) and because Barbara trusts Dick she works with them.

Here is where it gets interesting, through Barbara, Dick meets Cass, through Tim he meets Stephanie. You see that Dick’s connections are leading him to form a group of people. Cass and Stephanie are trained by Babs and Dick and they become the new Batgirls.

As all of that keeps developing Jason and Dick become “partners in crime” they help each other, they start building a brotherly relationship again. Although Jason refuses to say that out loud.

Then comes in Damian, a difficult child if there has ever been one but he has Bruce so Dick doesn’t have to jump in that fast… right?

Oh brother! Bruce is dead (omg what would we do? Battle for the cowl maybe? No!). with Bruce gone there is only one person who can take his place and everyone knows it has to be Dick.

Dick would feel a lot of things as he is taking Bruce’s place as Batman but he has a group of people ready to back him up (Alfred, Jason, Tim, Babs, Cass, Steph), and he also has to take care of Damian, he is a child and with his father gone then maybe his mother would want to take him back to the League of Assassins, Dick obviously doesn’t want that so he talks to Tim and tells him that he sees him as his equal and that he has a plan to make Damian stay and it involves making Damian his new Robin.

Tim would obviously be sad and a little hurt, but he understands Dick’s decision because they talked about it and Dick actually took the time to explain why he was doing what he was doing (really DC half of the problems you guys come up could be fixed in seconds if people would only take some time to just TALK!).

Dick and Damian work as Batman and Robin and Dick starts assuming the position of his father. They would live with Alfred in the penthouse and maybe Tim will join them from time to time (when he wasn’t busy with Young Justice/Teen Titans stuff). Slowly Dick and Damian will become the Dynamic Duo that we love today.

So, Dick would have his own Robin, Oracle (who is also managing her own team with Black Canary and (why not) the Batgirls), Red Robin and Red Hood working with him if he needs them. They are always a call away. Jason is the most difficult to reach and he will only involve himself in that kind of drama if its about controlling the drug trade or scaring the living shit out of some very shady people.

So, Red Hood wouldn’t be working with the new (and improved) Batman but Jason would hang out with Dick sometimes.

From there they build up. Dick renovates Arkham Asylum and makes it work they way that it is supposed to work. He might also recruit Catwoman when he needs someone really sneaky, they have known each other for so long, I bet Selina loves Dick, she would certainly help him out.

But as all things do, this happy and well-connected Dick-Family is disrupted when Bruce comes back, he inserts himself slowly back into his role as Batman and as he does that Dick starts to move away from it.

But Dick’s connections are strong and well cared for, so, even when he goes back to Bludhaven and starts fresh (again) as Nightwing those connections remain. Oracle still gives him intel, Robin and Red Robin come over to Bludhaven to patrol, maybe they even have their own rooms at Dick’s place.

With Bludhaven functioning again, all of the terrible people that were working there also come back, maybe some of them never left and they have been corrupting the city from its very core. So, when Jason tells Dick that he would like to expand his operations to Bludhaven, Dick says yes, as long as Jason keeps him updated on his work and also lets him know what is going on.

I think it works! What do you guys think so far?

From then on with the whole Dick-Family being connected and strong I think they can actually act and solve their problems as a family. All those arcs that didn’t work very well because Bruce was in the middle of it being a jerk, I think they will work if Dick is at the centre of it. Let’s say that Bruce hid the fact that Joker knows their identities and all that, with such a strong family the second that the Joker tries to manipulate Jason into believing that he created him, Dick will come out of the shadows and shut that bullshit down. If Joker tries to do something to the Circus, then the Birds of Prey and the Robins will be there in seconds helping Dick.

The Court of Owls, those little shits wouldn’t stand a chance against this team, this force of nature! Jason would be the one working from afar because you know my boy wouldn’t be subjected to the “no-killing” rule but if he does it, he has to do it away from the children (Damian) and away from Cass, if he doesn’t want to know real trouble. (He probably arranged those things with Dick a long time ago and he is happy with it).

Now, please forgive me but for angst reasons I will actually let the events of, Batman Incorporated #8, Forever Evil, Nightwing #30 and Spyral run its course.

Let me explain, after Damian’s death Dick holds the Dick-Family together, as well as Bruce because he is amazing like that, but then after Dick supposedly dies, things change just a little bit. Jason would retreat back to his own corner because the only thing attaching him to the Dick-Family was Dick but he would also keep his eyes open and he might also have a direct line with Oracle if things go south.

Aside from Jason, I do see the others working on keeping their connections intact. When Damian eventually returns the land of the living, I can see all of them coming together even more because that’s what Dick would have wanted.

And then Dick will come back from Spyral and here is where the Dick-Family will show the “Bat-Family” why its superior to it in every aspect possible.

The Dick-Family will notice that something must have happened, Dick would never play dead and leave them like that, but Dick loves Bruce and he doesn’t want to tell them the truth, Bruce has no memories now and his family doesn’t deserve that kind of drama BUT Jason and Tim are suspicious, they know Dick at this point and they trust him so they firmly believe that he is hiding something to protect someone. And here is where life repeats itself. Let’s review the Batcave’s footage, yes, I did it again, I just love the fact that Bruce has footage of himself being the absolute worst to his kids, how does DC not use it! Anyway, Tim and Jason find the footage from the events of Nightwing #30 and suddenly the Dick-Family have their “Dick defence squad” jackets on and they are ready to party.

After all that Bruce eventually gets his memories back and he is held accountable for his actions. Also, around this time the events of Robin War would have already happened so Duke is also introduced. Dick lets him join and all that, and then Duke and Cass become besties and they work together.

And yeah, as Rebirth comes closer the Dick-Family would be more united than ever.

That is how I would have done it. But this way is slow, and DC wouldn’t be able to monetize it as much as they would want.

Jason wouldn’t be giving hugs and calling everyone their brother or sister, he will only get along with Dick and he would be professional with everyone else.

Tim and Damian would get along but they wouldn’t go for ice cream together on a sunny day. Steph and Damian would and so would Cass and Tim or Cass and Duke.

Oracle would work with Dick and the others as a side thing because her main thing would be the Birds of Prey, this time with Helena too.

Alfred would spend his time with Bruce but he would also be very aware of Dick and his influence on everyone around them. Bruce eventually would be integrated to the Dick-Family because Dick is a sweetheart but Dick would also make Bruce follow his rules, Dick is a little bean but he is also the most badass person in the room (whichever room) so you better listen to what he has to say.

The Dick-Family would be something that grows silently and doesn’t need a “Joker War” in order for them to be there for each other, they would try their best each step of the way and they will talk things out when mistakes are made.

This is the way that I see this family dynamic working.

I would even go as far as to say that Talia can be part of the Dick-Family because she is connected to three people, Dick, Damian and Jason.

Dick is the person with most connections in the DC Universe, the Titans, the Justice League, Deathstroke, they all have connections to this treasure of a man. If he needs help in Gotham or Bludhaven then he can call people from the “first circle”, if things are beyond a “street level” threat them he can call the Titans and if shit really hits the fan, Clark and the others are a call away.

Anyway, this was unnecessarily long, I am sorry about it but I am also not because I really don’t know how to answer your question without going on a long rant.

In conclusion the Bat-Family doesn’t work and sadly it wouldn’t work no matter how much they force it. These people don’t have connections, Bruce is not able to make connections between people. And DC has erased entire relationships that Dick used to have. I mean, they got rid of Dick and Tim being close brothers just so they could give us a shitty brunch between Tim and Jason? Only yesterday we saw a true and beautiful interaction between Dick and Damian.

DC is handling the “Bat-Family” in all the worst possible ways. It just doesn’t work.

They should have used Dick all those years ago and they shouldn’t have destroyed Jason’s characterization with Lobdell’s ideas.

So, sadly, my dear anon, I don’t see the Bat-Family as a in character thing for any of these people as they are written currently, but I hope that you enjoyed my version of it. May the Dick-Family bring everyone who reads about it a little joy!

"Hello, Regina," Dr. Hopper said, ushering her into his office. "How are you?"

She scratched Pongo behind his ear, just where she learned he liked, before sitting down. "I'm good," she replied. "I've definitely been infected by the holiday spirit."

He chuckled. "You and most of the town."

"Christmas certainly has come to Storybrooke," she agreed, thinking of all the decorations that had gone up since her last session. Granny's Diner had covered its windows in fake snow as well as Christmas lights and decorations. And the town had hung its lights over Main Street already, though they weren't lit yet. That would happen during the upcoming weekend when Mayor Nolan would also light the town tree.

And even though Regina was still nervous around the town's mayor, she couldn't wait for the event. Especially since she was going with Rob and their friends.

"I believe you were decorating your house this weekend," Dr. Hopper said. "How did that go?"

"It went very well," she replied, brightening as she thought of the fun night she spent with her friends. "My house looks lovely and I have a bunch of great memories now. And I feel very relaxed."

He chuckled. "I'm glad to hear that. But did you try any other methods of self-care?"

She nodded. "I took a nice long bath with a bath bomb and some scented candles. I then put on some soft music and used a face mask. It felt heavenly."

"Good," he replied. "I hope you make it a regular practice."

"I will," she said, already vowing to do it again later that month.

He nodded, writing something down. "Now, in our last session, we were discussing your romantic history. And I get the feeling you wanted to discuss it for a reason."

"Yes," she replied, feeling nervous again. "There's someone I'm interested in."

"I had a feeling that was the case," Archie said. "Is it Rob?"

Surprise filled her as she nodded. "How did you figure it out?"

He chuckled. "Well, you tend to smile when you say his name and your expression softens. And I notice that you tend to separate him from the rest of your friends when talking about them."

"Oh," she said, unaware she had done that. "But yes, I do have feelings that are stronger than friendship for Rob."

"And I'm guessing you want to pursue these feelings?" he asked.

She sighed as Pongo jumped onto the couch and curled up next to her. "Yes, but I'm afraid I can't."

"And why not?"

"It's…complicated," she said, deciding that was the best word. "And you have to promise not to think I'm crazy."

He tilted his head. "That word doesn't exist in this room."

"I know," she replied. "But I still worry that you're going to think it. So can you promise and put me at ease? Please?"

"Okay," he said. "I promise."

Relieved, she said: "It has to do with the storybook. I think Rob is really Robin Hood and Miriam is really Maid Marian. And if that's the case, then they are meant to be together - not him and me."

He paused, looking up at her. "So do you believe the storybook is real?"

"I don't know," she replied honestly. "Some days I do, some days I don't. But lately, the days I do are starting to outnumber the days I don't."

"Do you think Miriam has feelings for Rob?" Archie asked.

She shrugged. "Miriam says they are only friends and they don't seem to act like they have any feelings for each other."

He nodded. "And do you think Rob might return your feelings?"

"I don't know," she replied honestly again. "I don't know if what he's doing means he has feelings for me or if he's just being a good friend, you know? I just don't have enough experience with friendships or romances to know the difference."

"I think that's a very good observation," he replied. "Do you want to discuss it now?"

She took a deep breath. "I think so."

"Okay," he said. "Tell me more about your friendship with Robin."

"Well, he's always willing to help me out but he's like that with everyone else," she started.

Dr. Hopper held up his hand. "Let's not compare your relationship with him to his with anyone else. Let's just focus on yours."

She nodded. "Okay."

"Good," he replied, leaning back in his chair again. "I apologize for interrupting you. Please proceed."

"Thank you," she said, playing with Pongo's ear as he rested his head on her lap. "Well, as I said, he is always willing to help me. And he is a really good listener. He's the only other person I've told about my search for my possibly missing child."

Dr. Hopper paused his writing as he tilted his head. "That's a big deal."

"I know," Regina said. "But I just felt so comfortable talking with him about it and he's been so supportive. It felt really good."

"That's good," Dr. Hopper assured her. "Trust is important in any relationship, either platonic or romantic."

That gave Regina pause as she continued to pet Pongo, thinking through her interactions with Rob to see if he had confided anything to her in return. Unable to think of anything, she admitted: "I just don't know if Rob trusts me the same way I trust him."

"He may not," Dr. Hopper said. "We all build trust at different paces. It doesn't mean your friendship isn't strong."

"I guess," she replied, her heart sinking. "I just hope I'm not reading too much into Rob's actions."

Dr. Hopper nodded. "That's an understandable concern."

"Do you have any recommendations?" she asked him, hoping he would be able to help her with her conundrum.

"I do," he replied. "It's going to be simple but sound hard - you should talk to him."

Regina frowned, nodding. "You're right. That does sound hard. What if he doesn't like me that way? What if I scare him off and he decides he doesn't want to be my friend anymore?"

"That is a risk you're going to have to take," he replied. "And it's not one you have to take right away. You can continue to build a friendship with him so that when you do have the discussion about your feelings, you can be more confident that he isn't going to stop being your friend."

"I guess that makes sense," she said slowly. "And I can better sort out my feelings to make sure it isn't just infatuation because of the attention he's showing me."

He nodded. "I think that's a very wise thing to do to make sure you're not mistaking friendship for something more."

She chewed her lip before asking: "Do you think that's what I'm doing now?"

"No, I don't," he replied. "You're not claiming that Rob is in love with you. Rather, you are approaching this maturely with your head and heart in the right place."

"Thank you," she said, glancing at the clock. "How much time do we have left?"

Archie glanced at his watch. "We're about halfway through. Why?"

"Because you skipped over the other part I'm worried about," she said. "The part about the storybook depicting Rob and Miriam as Robin Hood and Maid Marian."

"I did," he agreed. "I didn't think it was as important."

She pressed her lips together, her stomach turning. "Because you thought it was crazy?"

He shook his head. "I told you that word doesn't exist here."

"Then let's talk about it," she pressed. "Let's talk about the fact that Robin Hood and Maid Marian look like Rob and Miriam."

"Okay," he said, nodding. "You're right. This clearly bothers you and I apologize for dismissing it. Let's talk about why it bothers you."

She bit her lip, glad he was finally discussing it with her. Regina considered her answer before responding. "Because the more I read the book, the more I find myself believing Diana's theory about the curse. So if I am the Queen in the book, then Robin Hood plays an important role in that story but I don't think he is the man I end up falling in love with."

Dr. Hopper took off his glasses, studying her without them. "Are you certain the book is real?"

"Not completely, if I'm honest," she replied. "It still seems too fantastical to be completely true. But there are just so many coincidences that I can't just disregard them anymore. I mean, Rob Locke? Sounds pretty similar to Robin of Locksley. And Miriam Woods? Miriam is similar to Marian and she did live in the forest. If you had to modernize those names and try to hide their true identity while still winking at them, those are good choices."

"That is one way to look at it," he agreed. "Or perhaps their names inspired the illustrator to choose them when designing Robin Hood and Maid Marian."

She sighed, nodding. "I thought of that too. That's why I feel so torn."

"I understand," he said, glancing at the clock with a sigh. "Unfortunately, our time is over. We can continue discussing this at your next session."

"Okay," she replied, starting to stand. "Thank you."

He stood as well. "If I can say one more thing before our time is truly up. Don't stress about whether or not you're meant to be with Rob. Just continue building the relationship and enjoy the holidays. Okay?"

"I think I can do that," she said, feeling as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. "Thank you."

"Good," Archie said. "Now, I hope you don't mind that our next appointment won't be until the New Year, do you?"

She shook her head. "I'm honestly busy until New Year with orders so that works."

They reached his desk and he opened his calendar. "I like it when everything sorts itself out. How does January fifth sound?"

"It sounds good," she replied, pulling out her little calendar to add it. "Same time?"

He nodded, writing her into his calendar. Archie then looked up and held out his hand. "If I don't see you, have a happy holiday."

She shook his hand. "You too."

Pongo then pushed against her free hand and she chuckled, scratching behind his ear. "Happy holidays to you too, Pongo," she cooed.

"He's definitely going to have a happy holiday," Archie said. "I tend to spoil him."

"Good," she replied, straightening up again. "He deserves it."

Dr. Hopper laughed as he nodded. "Yes, he does."

She wished him a happy holiday again before leaving the office, heading down the stairs to the front door. Regina stepped out into the cold air, shivering as a few flakes of snow hit her coat. Wrapping her scarf tighter around her neck, she started to walk back home as she hoped it only flurried until she was safe inside. She was likely going to have to start driving even though the office was close to her house as the winter was only going to get worse. And she definitely didn't want to get caught in a storm.

As she turned the corner onto her block, she thought of Archie's words to her. She decided not to worry about what the story in the book meant for her own life. For far too long, she had let outside forces control her life. But not this time. She was going to continue to be Rob's friend and see where their relationship went from there, no matter what the book said.

Nothing was going to control her and keep her from living her life ever again.

Characters I think are least likely to die in Volume 2:

Honestly I have no idea who’s going to die but these are my guesses on who is most unlikely to die:

*spoilers for volume 1*

Would be very shocked if they died in s4v2 - there is no way they’ll die imo:

Eleven - there is no way they would or do a season without eleven, eleven is stranger things, and since there will be a season 5, I think it is very unlikely she will die this season.

Hopper - For them to kill him now would render the whole russia plot line completely pointless - they wouldn’t do all that which has little impact on the rest of the vecna plot just to kill him now. Also since they’ve already ‘killed’ him once the emotional impact on the viewers and characters would be limited and repetitive.

Characters I think are unlikely to die (but potentially possible just very unlikely):

Lucas - I don’t know why, but I just cannot see this happening. Also - I doubt they would kill one of their only two main characters who are black (Or at least I hope they wouldn’t kill him)

Erica - similar reason to Lucas and I just couldn’t see them killing the comic relief young sister character.

Steve - If they are going to kill him ever, it would be in season 5. Given that he is a fan favourite, I doubt they would kill him with a season left to go, as I don’t think they’ll want to do season 5 without him in. That being said, it would not surprise me at all if he died in season 5, probably through making a sacrifice for someone.

Nancy - Similar reason to Steve and Eleven - I think they would want her in season 5. Also we know she escapes vecna as we see her in the volume 2 trailer not being vecna’ed so I don’t know how else she would die. Plus I doubt they’re setting up a Steve/Jonathon/Nancy love triangle just to kill off the person at the centre of it.

Robin - Call my a cynic, but the writers would know how it would look to kill one of there 2 canon gay characters (or there only one if you don’t count Will as being canonically gay). I doubt they would want to buy into bury your gays or the backlash that would inevitably get them. Basically she has anti-bury your gays plot armour. Her line in the trailer and the fact she can be seen wrapped up in vines in the trailer also make it seem too obvious - if she was going to die surely they wouldn’t show her death scene in the trailer. However this one could just be me being very optimistic and giving the producers too much credit. as I really don’t want her to die, she is my favourite character, like, ever, and the theories she will are making me nervous.

Dustin - I honestly just really can’t see this happening, just based on vibes. I also don’t really see how it would advance the plot, it would come out of nowhere as I don’t think there’s much foreshadowing to it, and it would feel like killing someone for the sake of killing someone. If they’re going for shock value however - maybe they could kill him. (Maybe for character development for Steve idk?)

Will - he just seems too quintessential to stranger things to kill before the last season. Also they have clearly been building up to something (him being gay) for a long time. I doubt they would resolve that and kill him in two episodes. But who knows?

Mike - same reason as Will in that he is an important character in the show basically - also they’re going to drag on Mileven vs Byler for a bit longer I feel.

Joyce - this one I’m not sure about. I just really hope they wouldn’t because it would be kinda soul crushing after all that to reunite her and Hopper. It would also make Hopper feel even more cursed. I would think they wouldn’t get rid of her before the last season - she’s an important part of the show and she’s Winona Ryder. However it would have an emotional impact on the kids and we did see Will and Jonathon hug in the trailer. I was stuck between putting her here and in potentially could die but I’ll be optimistic.

Characters I think could potentially die:

Jonathon - I don’t know, not many people are proposing it, and I feel it is not impossible? It would have emotional impact on Joyce, Will, and Nancy but not prevent any character from further development. Would open a gap for Steve and Nancy to be together which is clearly being hinted at, or more likely would continue the pining between Steve and Nancy as Nancy would feel too guilty to act on it. Also they aren’t doing too much with his character this season so I could see a season without him and he isn’t a fan favourite so it would be a way to kill a main character, in a way that would advance the plot, make everyone really sad, yet not too much to totally piss off their audience.

Murray - I don’t know, I feel like he is somewhat of a disposable character now that Hoppe and Joyce have reunited, and I feel like someone in that plot line could die. Maybe Murray will go in some kind of sacrifice for Joyce and Hopper.

Eddie - he is a new, beloved character and the writers seem to like killing off new and beloved characters. I feel like someone has to go and it could very easily be him. High emotional impact for viewers but without getting rid of a long standing character.

Argyle - similar reasoning to Eddie although I feel like Argyle is more likely to make it out alive. He’s really just there for comic relief and I feel like killing wouldn’t really bother me much but also just be killing him for the sake of killing someone. Honestly I have no strong guesses either way with him, but put him in here cause I didn’t feel confident to say he is unlikely to die.

Max - I really really really don’t want her to die but the way her stories been going this season - I don’t have high hopes. She has had a big role and is also in a prominent place in the new poster - this big role could lead to her death. It has seemed from the beginning of this season it has been building up to something bad happening to her. She clearly isn’t free from vecna yet. Killing her would be shocking, and very very sad. Maybe what the writers want?

(This is honestly just my gut feeling and I am not good at guessing or elaborate theories - so I’m almost definitely wrong on a lot of this.)
