Illustration based off of book descriptions vs what keeps happening. When it comes to fan designs, I guess I can understand not quite remembering the book descriptions or taking liberties with it, but when it comes to official art there is no excuse for this.
#artemis fowl#holly short#the dark red or bright orange hair is y'know#at least they remembered auburn is a kind of ginger#I do have auburn hair though so I think about it quite a lot#it's normally just reddish brown#it can vary#the hazel eyes though are described as hazel and brown#they probably have some green or yellow in there because hazel eyes are brown with more colors intermixed#but yes they are brown#the white skin is just ridiculous#but the nose description varies#as does the hair description but it's never LONG#anyway don't take this as me attacking fan artists#I'm mostly concerned with the official art#they only seem to be getting more of an understanding of the character recently#which is ridiculous because we get a description of her in the first chapter she's in

street racer! ellie williams x fem! reader
summary; heat rises on the streets, blood pumps with adrenaline in the race, and bad memories come up to the surface with a swing of the steering wheel.
cw; tension, swearing, mentions of death and death of a fictional character, anxiety… in the future there would be +18 content!
special thanks to @winfleurs and @atomicami for inspiring me i luv u! 🎀
“dina! wait up!” you screamed, your heels making it not quite easy to run after your best friend.
your ears were buzzing with the roaring of the audience and the car’s engines. it was a fresh saturday night, and the city seemed as bright as a constellation. adrenaline was pumping through your veins, you shouldn’t be out today. in fact, you’d sneaked out of your house. but you couldn’t help it if your friend asked for it so badly. her boyfriend, jesse, was supposed to be racing today. there was a lot of money on the line. probably about 500k. and dina had to be there. you know, the ‘good luck’ kiss and all that.
the cars looks amazing, modified with the newest technology. you could see the NOS tubes peeking though, ready to push though the chambers of the cars and burn the tires in the asphalt.
shit, you were getting excited.
you followed your friend through the crowd, trying to not lose her black wavy hair out of sight.
“jesse!” she screamed, a huge smile on her features as she ran towards the cars and her boyfriend, jumping onto his arms.
“hi beautiful.” he smiled, giving her a kiss as he held her. you made a gagging sound that made them laugh and pull apart.
“nice to see you too, jesse.” you said as you met up with the two of them. jesse chuckled.
“hey trouble maker, what are you doing here?”
“oh, you know… being a good best friend and all that.” you rolled your eyes, a playful smile on your lips.
“of course.” he hummed, squinting his eyes.
“although i really wanted to see you lose too.” you added and he laughed.
“there it is. i could see it coming.” you winked at him.
“i see you’ve got competition.” you looked around to the cars placed for the race. and you whistled. “a 2015 Lykan HyperSport? that’s gonna be hard to beat.” jesse frowned. “but of course yours is not that bad…” you placed your hand on its surface. “Nissan Skyline GT-R R34… 1999 right?” you inquired and he nodded.
dina seemed just as surprised as him.
“yeah… how do you know all this stuff about cars?” you froze. shit.
“uhh…” you shrugged. “my father. he’s a fanatic.” you quickly spurted out, and the two of them nodded, letting it slide. ‘cause they couldn’t think anything else about it, of course. you were no longer in LA, you were safe.
you sighed. almost fucked it up.
“hey, jess!” the three of you turned around at the sound of a low and sultry voice. your eyes met a pair of evergreen ones, silky auburn hair —tied half and half on a messy bun— and freckled cheeks. she was seating on the hood of her car, girls with tiny skirts and exposed cleavages surrounding her. her legs were spread, a black tank top hugging her chest and toned abdomen, leaving her strong arms exposed.
she was hot. really hot.
“yo williams.” jesse smirked. “ready to eat dirt?” she scoffed, showing off a confident smirk.
“you talk too much for someone who hasn’t beaten me once.” people around you hollered.
“and you talk too much to have that shit of a car.” you huff, and she arched her eyebrows. “Subaru WRX. year 2008.” you pointed out, your heels clicking as you got closer. “i’m sorry for your wallet. the engine and drivetrain must have given you a lot of problems.” you saw the way her jaw ticked and you smiled. “uuuh, seems like a touched a tender spot, didn’t i? i mean subarus are impressive. but not even an STI? come on. you hurt me.” you pouted and she chuckled.
“well, look at that. here i thought your pretty face would be the most interesting thing about you. but you’ve got brains.” she said, jumping off of the hood of her car, getting closer to you as she eyed you up and down.
“not like your kitties here.” you nodded at the girls and they all stared dirtily at you, what made you smirk.
“careful doll, they might scratch you all up.” she warned, playfully, so close to you you could smell her perfume. “and we wouldn’t want that beautiful face of yours to go to waste, do we?” you smirked.
“i would like to see them try.” you muttered, leaning until your faces were mere inches away. she pursed her lips and took a look at you, at your exposed legs and cleavage, beautiful hair and glossy red lips. you had gone for a simple tight tube leather dress that pushed up your tits a little bit too well, and a pair of red thin high heels. a red pendant hanging from your necklace.
“see something you like, ‘williams’?” you inquired, sultry, teasingly and she smirked.
“maybe.” she tilted her head slightly backwards. “what about you? you see something you like?”
“i do…” you nodded, droopy eyes on her own green ones and she smiled. “your car.” she let out a sarcastic laughter, shaking her head.
“but weren’t you just saying how much of a shit it was?” she inquired, eyebrows arched in disbelief.
“now it is. it won’t be once i’ve got my hands on it and touch her all up.” you said as you stared at the cherry red car. the people surrounding you let out ‘uuu’s that made you smile. “you know… a short throw shifter, maybe a new intercoolers…”
“and how are you gonna do that, princess?”
“with a race.” the crowd roared and your friends frowned. dina approached you.
“are you crazy?! do you even know how to race?” you looked at her, and took one of her hands.
“dina… i’ll explain later, okay? but now i need you to trust me on this one, alright?” jesse and dina looked at you, into your eyes, and saw your determination. silently, he handed you his keys.
“if you’re gonna race, you’ll need a car.” you looked at him, and he smiled. you returned it, taking the keys. “if you lose i’ll kill you.” he warned though, and you laughed.
“i never lose.” you promised.
“what do i win if you do?” ellie stepped into the conversation, eyebrows raised. “need to hook me in, gorgeous, i’m betting my car after all.”
“i’ll tell you what.” you smirked, turning towards her. “since it’s not gonna happen. i’ll bet you anything you want.”
“anything i want?” she inquired and you nodded. “don’t pull back later on your promise, princess.”
“i won’t.”
-
you could feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins, the tingling of your hands. you pressed on the gas, hearing the engine roar, and your heart stammered. shit. it’s been so long.
you had promised yourself you wouldn’t do it ever again. but how could you get away from all of this? from the only thing that made you feel something? that made you weak on your knees and your heart race? it was like a drug. every time you took it you’d find yourself begging for more. you needed it on your system.
you had learned how to race since a very early age, even before you had enough age to get your license —yeah, you got in trouble with the police more than once, but they could never catch you—. and even if you loved it, you’d left it all after your best friend had died while racing, in the hands of a crazy dick who made him crash against a building, making the NOS tanks blow up and burning him alive.
you still could remember your screams, how your friends had grabbed at you so you wouldn’t get closer. ‘let me go! let me fucking go!’
you’d watched the only person that got you and unconditionally loved you die in front of your eyes.
after that you’d used the millions of dollars your family name had to drown your sorrows in alcohol and drugs, getting away from the city that had taken away your everything from you and building a brand new life where nobody could know you.
you’d been hard to get to know, always having everybody at an arm’s length until dina had come along, with her stupid smile and warm personality bringing you back to life. you’d forever be grateful to and for her. but her past was something you’d never talked about, and she didn’t want to force you into it.
“i see you shaking there, princess. scared?” williams screams from her car, who just had positioned itself to your right. you scoffed.
“oh yeah, terrified.” you sarcastically said, and she smirked.
“don’t worry babe, you can always sit on my lap later, i have something that will calm you down.” she winked and you rolled your eyes.
“no thank you, once i’m done i’ll be sitting on your car and driving back to my house.” you winked back, and she chuckled, mouthing something to herself that you couldn’t figure out.
“you guys readyyyyyy?!” a girl in a mini skirt came in between the two cars, a gun in hand. the audience roared, and so did your car. there were phones everywhere, recording the impending race —and your victory—.
you bit down on your lip. you were gonna make win that pretty girl, in heels.
“set!” another girl to your right yelled, and your engine roared again, the tires burning.
“ready!” another to your left, one more roar.
“go!” the girl with the gun shot up to the sky, and before you knew you were flying. the world stopped. there was no future. no past. just the present. just that moment.
ellie took the lead, and she smirked to herself, looking at your car through her mirrors. but she just had to take her eyes away from you for two seconds to lose you. “what the-“
she took the curve, and with a honk, you drifted right beside her, in a swift motion getting in front of her backwards to the road, facing her car. you smiled at her, and send her a kiss with one of your hands before harshly spinning the wheel and drifting once again to face forwards, using the NOS to catapult yourself through the asphalt. you relished on the shock of her face. god you could never get used to it. it never got old.
ellie cursed, following right behind you, adrenaline pumping through her body.
“i’ve finally got you.” she smiled, changing gears and speeding up. another closed curve came into your view and you sped up, in a quick movement changing gears and pulling on the break as you harshly manhandled the steering wheel. you could almost see everything on slow motion, the people outside of the car roaring as you perfectly drifted in an U shape.
you screamed, euphoria in the pit of your stomach. ellie used the inertia to pull up by your side, lowering her window. you did the same. you two were on the final straight line. “you ready to lose princess?” she inquired, and you scoffed.
“catch me if you can, williams!” you screamed, and changed gears before pressing the gas. you press the NOS button, the strength making your back press tightly against your sit. you flew through the straight line, ellie copying you and keeping up with you. you could see the finish line getting closer and closer, and the speedometer getting higher.
you knew you couldn’t over do it, the crowd was waiting for the winner there, you couldn’t hurt them, you wouldn’t.
100mph, 125mph, 150mph, 165mph.
“3…2…1…” and just as you crossed the finish line, mere inches ahead from ellie, you harshly rotated the wheel, drifting as you stepped and pulled on both breaks, the tires burning against the asphalt and leaving marks as you finally stopped the car. the crowd roared and quickly approached you. dina and jesse were hollering.
you stepped out of the car with a smile on your face, your best friend jumping to hug you and jump into your arms, making you laugh.
“what?! i mean- what?!? that was amazing!!! since when could you race?!!?? oh my god!!!” you chuckled, trying to calm her down.
“i’ll tell you everything about it later, alright?” she nodded. jesse tried to say something but he was out of words. “it’s okay big boy, don’t waste your breath.” you tapped her shoulder, and he scoffed. “and now…” you turned around, watching ellie as she stepped out of her car. “i’ll be taking my prize.” you smirked, spreading out your arm and showing her your palm. she tilted her head to the side, a playful smile playing on her lips.
“sure. but first aren’t you going to introduce yourself for me, princess?” she inquired. “or should i do it… viper?” your blood froze, as well as the whole crowd. ellie smirked. “you really thought i wouldn’t recognize those drifts?” you quickly got closer to her, your breaths mingling.
those surrounding you started mumbling. your breath was shaky and your body, still filled with adrenaline, slowly filled with anxiety and bad memories.
“viper the street racer?”
“no way!”
“she disappeared years ago, is it really her?”
“i would shut up if i were you.” you hissed, and she leaned in, the smirk on her lips growing. your lips were almost brushing, and with the hand in which she had her keys, she cupped your chin.
“why don’t you make me?”
you needed to get out of here.
why… why now? why after all this years was your past catching up to you?
you quickly took her —your— keys, watching her smile as you got into your new car and started it. the crowd was unraveling and you knew soon they’d start either jumping at you or taking pictures to expose you.
“see you soon, princess!” she screamed as you drove out of there, groaning at the buzzing of your phone. “i caught you.”

Hideout (1)
touch-starved!Nomad Steve Rogers x motel employee!Reader
Puppy, (see premise post or series)
Summary: An ultra-shy man named Grant arrives with various friends to your family-owned motel. He opens up slowly over the months...and grows a fantastic beard. 🤭
While this part has no mature situations, this series will be 18+ only. MINORS DNI. This is mostly pure setup for the smut in every future chapter. Your media consumption is your responsibility; please choose for yourself if these matters trigger you. If so, there is plenty for you to read on my Light Masterlist, but this work is not it! WC ~2k
He first arrives with only his friend—two fit fellas, one white, one black. They pay in cash, share a double room. The most information you get is Tom Smith, the more open of the two, joking that you’ll have to excuse Grant’s shyness.
Grant doesn’t seem to respond to his own name.
He’s a beefy blond, and your impression is the man doesn’t need to have a lot going on up top to get by in life. You do try not to judge, though. Your job is more about keen observation and recognizing the needs of your guests.
These two guests need privacy. They aren’t unfriendly, but they are not chatty. They go as quickly as they came. One night. The room is slept in, but they were clean enough.
The next time they show up they need three rooms, but you only have two available. Tom and Grant bunk up again, and a couple are with them who do not come into the office. The woman has beautiful auburn hair that she covers with a ball cap, and her very tall beau—whose hand she holds—shields himself in far more clothing than necessary this time of year.
They all sleep (you assume) during the day and only socialize at night when the other guests aren’t around.
Not that the party is loud; they simply seem more at ease when it’s harder to see. They stay three or four days, leaving rather suddenly early one night after paying for the time already.
Sporadically, this continues.
Once it’s only the couple. She is very reserved and he is very awkward, but again nice enough. They stay for nearly two weeks, enjoying hikes in the area, always holding hands. The woman relaxes significantly. It’s quite lovely to see.
Mister and Misses Durham, you know them as. They don’t always respond by name either.
Another visit makes five guests with the addition of a beautiful young woman. Her hair is cropped and bleach blond, and she is by far the most at ease.
It’s this visit that you realize they are just staying in their rooms during the day not sleeping, and you find the karaoke machine to take to Tom’s room.
He’s thrilled, thank goodness, because you don’t normally offer up activities to those who don’t ask about them, but Tom bangs on the doors of the other two (you think) couples so they can join him.
You’re about to leave when he asks you to do a duet with him.
Grant throws out that Tom enjoys Marvin Gaye. It’s the most you’ve heard him say, ever.
“I do,” Tom agrees, “but I don’t mess with the master.”
So you have the idea to sing Marvin Gaye—the song—with Tom as Charlie Puth and you as Meghan Trainor.
It’s quite a lot of fun, belting as best you can, finding Grant’s intense gaze on you for the lyrics: I’m like a stray without a home… I’m like a dog without a bone…
Just as quickly, however, you have to go back to the front desk. Duty calls and all.
You make sure they know the machine is all theirs for as long as they want. Their rooms are too far down the line of the building to hear if they do enjoy it for long, but you get no complaints about noise. You hope for the best.
Later that night, Grant comes by the office, carrying the machine with a smirk on his face and the most genuine appreciation on his lips. He has a lovely deep voice you never knew about.
He just talks to you.
It’s all superficial conversation about the area, the weather, what activities you like on your days off, but even that seems a struggle for him.
Tom was not kidding. His friend is extremely shy. He has trouble thinking up casual questions. He can’t look you in the eye until responding, and he doesn’t give more than a few words in answer to anything.
You laugh--you have to—when Grant asks if he can walk you to your door, which…is ludicrous because you live in the house a whopping fifty meters past the main motel. Your family has owned and run this place for three generations. You’ve walked that path your whole life.
“I like walking,” he shrugs, though from the sheer muscles on him, he does way more than just walk. “I was gonna do a lap or two anyway.”
“Well, I have to wait for Clark to show up, but—“ you look him up and down “—okay.”
Grant is so sweet but so stiff. He holds himself with purpose when actively thinking, but you catch him having these distant moments. He withers like a violet, a shell that’s too small for his big body. He seems lost and lonely.
You’re glad to do whatever keeps him company. Your goal for the night is to make Grant smile as much as humanly possible, but that’s difficult when he won’t let you know anything about him.
Twenty minutes later, Clark, a local stoner kid who hardly looks up from his phone, waltzes in, stepping around Grant like a wall that’s always been there and throwing a “hey, man” out with zero regard for a response. Classic Clark. That’s why he’s on night shifts.
So you grab your bag and let Grant hold the door open for you.
Maybe you’ve been watching the Durhams too much when they come around, but you feel a compulsion to hold his hand. You don’t, obviously, because you only just heard this guy speak for the first time today. It would also be incredibly awkward to hold Grant’s hand in the dead silence that follows on your way up the gravel path.
You’re so consumed by figuring out what to say next that you don’t notice till the beast is right there.
An elk walks right in front of you, taller than Grant. From this angle the animal blocks the entire view of your house it’s so big, and you jump back, slamming into your startled escort’s chest.
You both freeze as it moves slowly at a diagonal to the other side of woods, bringing it and its gigantic horns closer still.
It squawks like some sort of awful banshee and stamps huge hoofs. You throw your weight backward and spin to flee, clambering over Grant’s body.
Why you’re so scared, who knows; you should be used to the wildlife, but no creature has ever done this before.
The most shocking thing, however, is how strongly Grant tries to hold you immobile.
The harsh grip on your waist and the way he hisses through his teeth for you to stop should be your hint, but instead you cling to him harder, asking quietly if the animal is gone.
“Uh…” Grant tenses against you. “It’s…it’s just—“ he shudders when you wriggle “—yes, gone,” he bites out, pushing you away by the hips.
He takes a second to breathe, buries his hands in his pockets, and leans forward, gathering himself.
It was scary. That could have turned nasty very quickly. You were lucky Grant was there and calm…except he was sorta the reason you were distracted in the first place.
Finally composed, he sighs and motions forward. “Let’s get you home.”
Two months later, Grant’s initial five o’clock shadow has come in nicely.
You’ve learned the routine of their check-in. There’s only one room available, unfortunately, but if they stay more than two days, there should be another open.
Tom shrugs and offers a playful, “we’ll see. We go where the wind takes us.” He smooths his palm over a fresh fade at his nape and the sharp angles of his goatee.
“And you, I see, have stopped in for a cut with Terrence in town. He loves the three slices like that.” That's how the barber marks his work. Terrence's shop is very popular.
“It’s a good signature. Wish I could'a convinced this big lug to get a trim.” Tom elbows his friend who stares at his feet.
Grant runs his fingers through his golden locks and swallows. “Yeah, well, maybe next time.”
Without realizing what you’re doing, you stand on the rungs of your stool behind the counter and reach for his lusciously full beard.
“Don’t you dare get rid of this,” you chide, fingertips grazing the skin of his cheek beneath the course yet soft hairs.
You should apologize. You should let go and sit back down. You should professionally hand them their key and be done with it, but instead, you linger, watching his blue eyes darken with a primal devastation.
He’s prey caught in a cage.
You release Grant’s face with an awkward laugh and a shake of your head.
Tom makes his own, very knowing face, and winks.
“You should do that more. Touch him. He could use it.”
Grant clears his throat harshly and blushes, mumbling something about which room number you said they had and that he’ll bring the other bags from the car. He leaves. Tom takes the keys with another wink and a sassy tap on the hardwood.
“Thank ya, ma’am. We appreciate it.”
It’s about twenty minutes later when your pen rolls off the edge of the counter, you find a small duffle left where Grant stood.
“He was joking. It was a joke,” Grant blurts when he finds you standing there to give it back.
You just smile and say Tom isn’t wrong.
“So, if you ever just want a hug…” you mutter, taking a chance to scratch at his bearded chin again. “Not like you’re gonna hurt me.”
He looks back inside, as if seeking permission or checking to make sure his friend is still in the bathroom, singing in the shower.
Grant can’t seem to meet you halfway, but he does inch forward, struggling to word a simple ‘yes.’
The tentative embrace starts with only the top of his chest touching you, bent so his butt is out, no pressure on his hands at your shoulders, so you push a little more and a little more. You get close enough he needs to wrap his arms around you instead. He has to stand straight so his chin doesn’t poke your forehead. He whimpers slightly when your own arms encircle his tiny waist.
A few breaths later, he relaxes into a lovely full-body hug, his rough fingertips on your bare skin where your shirt bunched up. You’re both being human, no more, no less, tangled in simple comfort.
Grant tucks his face into your collarbone suddenly and squeezes, not so hard that it hurts but not gently either. The move tickles you with his beard, your hands pawing up his back as you giggle, and he whines like wounded prey.
“Hey, it’s okay,” you soothe. “I can be here, if you want, to hold. It’s okay.”
That has the opposite effect you intended, knocking him out of some soft reverie and launching him back a foot, a necessary but unwelcome distance.
Grant looks guilty, needy, and resigned as he thanks you for returning the bag and sees you out the door.

| c/w- reader has anxious thoughts
the transition from fall to winter was abrupt;
one morning you open your eyes and the crunchy, orange leaves have curled and gone brown. swirls of chilled air and frozen rain threaten to turn into snow which replaces the brightly colored leaves that once danced and twirled their way from the trees to the ground.
the transition from fall to winter means final exams, impending doom, and a great loss of sleep.
by the way you rushed to class, anyone passing by would've assumed you were running extremely late. however, it was quite the opposite. you needed to be exactly twenty minutes early. twenty minutes early to fix any hair that would've been knotted by the wind, and twenty minutes early to secure a seat that was a perfect distance from the pretty girl with auburn hair that was in your class.
finals season led to the lecture halls being crowded of students who hadn't previously attended class on a regular schedule, and you refused to once again lose the seat that you have been using all semester.
the sound of your shoes echoed through the silent hallway. In a flurry you were pulling your phone out of your pocket, pulling your bag higher on your shoulder and adjusting the bottom of your sweater. you heaved open the classroom door without a moment of checking your surroundings, which caused you to freeze instantly when you caught sight of the auburn girl sitting next to your seat.
the heavy door swung to a loud closing, causing you to outwardly flinch as the girl quickly looked up. the sudden eye contact made you cringe, but it was over as quickly as it happened as she turned back to slouching over her notebook.
in a moment of internal panic, you busied yourself with your bag as you fought with yourself over what to do next. the classroom was nearly empty, would she think you were a freak for sitting directly next to her? on the other hand, you had been sitting in that seat for the entire semester, surely she knew that? then again, she most likely wasn't paying attention to you in the way that you had been paying attention to her...
after a moment of hesitation, you swallowed your pride and slid into your seat with burning cheeks. you were nearly certain her name was ellie, but hadn't managed the courage to speak to her yet and the semester was nearing a close.
ellie was someone who instantly caught your eye. you wanted to be her friend, but never worked up the nerve to start a conversation. you noticed her a lot though, maybe more than you should. admittedly, on the days you have been tempted to skip class, you ended up attending simply due to one reason.
she was funny, you could tell by the way she interacted with other people in the class. and she was pretty. so pretty, in fact, you hadn't wanted to sit directly next to her because it was simply too daunting.
but now here you are.
a hole could've burned through your notebook because of how hard you were staring at it, feeling completely unsure of what to do with your body. sitting next to her made you feel frozen, and you mentally cursed yourself for being so pathetic over someone you didn't even really know.
out of the corner of your eye, you could see ellie twirling a pen through her fingers. you caught sight of her tattoo and thought your gaze might've lingered a little too long because the girl next to you suddenly sighed loudly, causing you to jump and refocus your gaze to your notes.
"alright, scale of one to ten, how fucked do you think you are for the final? I think I'm standing at a solid..six? maybe?"
heart thumping, you turned to meet ellie's gaze. she was staring at you with her eyebrows pinched together, but still had a small smile hanging off of her lips.
"same," you released with a nervous laugh, quickly frowning at your lack of response. you try to will yourself to think of something witty, ultimately failing but ellie smiles anyway.
her change of expression encourages you and you manage to spit something out without overthinking it.
"I really want to be more positive, but I'm horrible at taking tests. like, really horrible. It doesn't matter how much I study or if I love the material... I'm like, done for."
ellie nods and the conversation is short lived, but you're buzzing well throughout class. she doodles on her note pages and pieces of hair fall from her low bun to frame her face. you steal only a couple glances, using all of your power to focus on the professor and not the girl sat next to you.
in your determination to not let your eyes linger, you're completely unaware of Ellie's gaze. she notices your notes, detailed and organized, and the slight frown on your face as you scramble to make adjustments while the professor reviews information.
it's a miracle you're able to focus and class ends ten minutes early, a rarity yet well appreciated. you're trying to decide if you should get another word in with ellie while you're packing up, and she makes it easy on you.
"hey, are you doing that whole study group thing?" ellie askes suddenly, her tone growing in confidence as her sentence finishes.
sliding your notes into your bag, you pretend to think it over. in reality, you never considered the option. the idea of meeting up with people you didn't really know in an attempt to teach other class material sounded like an anxiety nightmare.
"I don't really know," you admit. "are you?"
ellie shrugs, nearly hesitating for a moment before standing and straightening her posture. she carried herself well, you noticed, fighting a burning in your face as you stood awkwardly after her.
ellie didn't verbally answer and her original asking left you curious, but you had homework due soon and no time to delay. after a rushed and mumbled parting, you left the class as quickly as you could without seeming as if you were running away from ellie herself.
the late november air was as unforgiving as the nagging thoughts in your head about a silly study group that you previously had no interest in. you were certain that you were reading way too into things... ellie had only asked a simple question and she surely wasn't going to lose sleep over it.
regardless, you found yourself double checking the date and time that the study group was supposed to meet, and making sure of your availability... just in case.

If you do requests, I would love a Fili one! Specifically, his hobbit gf who has short hair tells him she’s going to grow it out so that he can finally put it in braids <33
A/N: this was such a cute request, thank you so much for sending it in (and your patience!)! Hope you like it!
Fíli x fem!hobbit (unnamed) OC
Requested: obviously
Warnings: just lots of teeth rotting fluff I guess?
Word count: 753 words
Always yours
“You’re staring again,” she said without taking her eyes off the page of her book. As handsome and charming as her companion was, the story she was reading was too intriguing and she really wanted to know what the heroine would do next.
But there came no response to her comment and eventually her curiosity got the best of her. She peeked over the edge of the paper, straight into the bright blue eyes of her intended.
“See? I knew I was right,” she teased with a smile.
Fíli chuckled, the sound reverberating in his chest, making her smile even wider. There truly wasn’t a lovelier sound.
“Such beauty as yours is meant to be admired, ibrizinlêkhê, you cannot fault me for doing so.”
She twirled a lock of hair around her finger as she resumed her reading, a blush colouring her cheeks at the given praise. Even after months of courting she still wasn’t used to the numerous compliments Fíli showered her with.
“Your hair’s getting quite long,” Fíli commented as he let his fingers glide through her deep brown curls. “I suppose it’s almost time to cut it again.”
She didn’t miss the disappointment in his voice, even though she knew he’d tried to hide it. She usually let her curls grow until it reached her shoulders, or until it was at ‘proper Hobbit-length’ as she’d always say, before the scissors would appear. Even though Fíli knew hair wasn’t as important to Hobbits as it was to Dwarrows, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness every time his future wife took out the scissors.
But now it almost brushed her collarbones, the longest it had ever been and Fíli loved it. How the curls danced around her face as she was running around the kitchen, cooking yet another feast, or how they framed her perfectly round face as she was engrossed in one of her books, shielding her from prying eyes. His fingers itched to braid her auburn locks, to take three strands and weave them together, following an all-too-familiar pattern, sealing it with a bead containing his sigil and making her truly his in the eyes of Mahal. But he respected her too much, and the last thing he would want for her was to abandon her own culture.
“About that…” she began, pulling him out of his thoughts. She went to the heavy wooden chest of drawers, took something out of the top drawer and placed it in his hand with a shy smile. A pair of scissors.
Fíli’s eyes went wide at the suggestion. “You cannot ask me to… I can’t-”
He loved her with all his heart, she was his whole world without any doubt, and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do if she asked him to, but this request was really pushing his limits.
The Hobbit girl laughed, her giggles like tiny bells in the evening breeze, and she folded her small hands around his large one holding the scissors, closing it with an encouraging squeeze.
“I don’t want you to use them,” she reassured him, “I want you to keep them, since I have no need for them anymore.”
Fíli stared at her, his features twisted in confusion, before he realised what it meant. He dropped the scissors and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his chest, the book she was reading toppling to the ground but neither of them noticed. As he let go of her, his hands moved from her waist to cup her cheeks, brushing a strand of hair out of her face with his thumb.
“I know how important this is to you, and your kin. You’ve done so many things to make me feel at home. So I decided I wanted to grow out my hair, long enough for you to braid it. And I think we’re there, don’t you?”
Fíli positively beamed with happiness, blinking a few times as if he couldn’t believe what had just occurred. He closed the already small distance between them with a small tug, and kissed her hard, a kiss full of passion and promises and want.
As they separated, both catching their breaths, he took something out of his pocket, and opened his hand, revealing a silver bead. “I’ve carried this with me ever since we started courting, but I never thought... Ibrizinlêkhê, would you do me the honour of letting me braid your hair?”
She smiled, her eyes a little teary at the sheer happiness and nodded.
“Always.”

The Last Time (Ted's Version)
Chapter Six
chapter warnings: language, lots of sexual tension, masturbation (f),
word count: 3.3k
enjoy ;)
Weeks have gone by since Trent Crimm of 'The Independent' published his article and the respect that Ted has gotten from other journalists has sky rocketed through the roof. Not only does that make my job a hell of a lot easier, but as Ted's friend, it makes my heart burst with joy. Even though the team has lost several games, the media isn't tearing Ted apart like they used to. Instead, they choose to talk about how charismatic he is during press conferences, and how he greets everyone he sees on the streets. Even though Ted's public reception is through the roof, Rebecca is still incredibly standoffish. I mean, the woman just went through a very public divorce, I would be standoffish too if I were her.
While I was sitting at my desk, reading through the dozens and dozens of comments about what people had to say about Ted and the team, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Howdy doody, Lacy Loo," Ted said, excitedly.
"Ted," I greeted, with my face remaining stone cold. "To what do I owe the pleasure of conversing with London's most talked about coach?"
"What are you doing tonight?" He prompted. Do I tell him the truth about how I was going to order take out and fall asleep on top of my vibrator? That might cause a problem with HR.
"Hmm.. nothing. Why? What's up?"
"Well, the boss lady invited me to her annual charity gala tonight." At least Ted was making leeway with Rebecca. I haven't been able to break through her yet.
"Ooo. That sounds fancy. And maybe a little scary." I smiled up at him.
"Well, actually. I was gonna ask if you'd do me the honor of being my plus one. I'd hate to go alone." Ted actually looked nervous to ask me, like I'd ever say no.
"I would love to be your plus one, Ted." I smiled.
"Yeah?" He seems genuinely surprised that I said yes.
"Absolutely! I love a good excuse to get dressed up and eat fancy food. What time is it?"
"We'll have to leave around seven." Ted answered.
"Alrighty. I'll see you at seven."
Lacy Watson: EMERGENCY
Keeley Jones: WHAT IS IT??
Lacy Watson: I got invited to the gala tonight and I have nothing to wear.
Keeley Jones: Oh, fuck. We need to go shopping NOW.
***
After trying on dozens and dozens of dresses, we finally found one that looked perfect. Keeley insisted I go with an emerald green dress since it would match my auburn hair. The gown was floor length and showed just enough cleavage that Ted wouldn't have a choice but to look.
"Lace, you look so fucking fit. I just wanna kiss you on the mouth, right now." Keeley took a step back and made me spin around in my dress.
"You really think so? You think I look pretty?" Out of nowhere, I got all timid. Just because Keeley thought I looked pretty didn't mean Ted would think so.
"I think Ted is the luckiest man in the world to be walking into this gala with you on his arm." Keeley held onto my arm as she spoke to me, looking deep into my eyes.
"Alright now I wanna kiss you on the mouth," I joked.
I had about two hours to go back home and do my hair and makeup. Keeley offered, but she had to get ready to go to the gala too and I felt guilty monopolizing all of her time.
I curled my hair into beach waves and went with a medium coverage makeup look. I wanted to feel pretty, but I wanted Ted to see me. Not this made up version of me.
Ted knocked on the door while yelling "I'm coming up!" My heart did somersaults when I heard his footsteps coming up the stairs. I just stood there, playing with my dress when Ted turned around the corner and saw me.
"Jesus fucking Christ," he mumbled underneath his breath.
"What do you think?" I spun around so he could see the entire dress.
"I think... I think you look beautiful." Ted softly let out. I felt my face heat up as a blush started to spread across my cheeks.
"Thank you, Ted. You look quite handsome, yourself." I smiled at him.
Ted cleared his throat, "We better hit the road, we don't wanna be late."
As we arrived to the venue, I audibly groaned as I noticed a red carpet heading up to the door.
"What the fuck is this?" I groaned.
"Just a few pictures. Pretty much just like prom all over again," Ted laughed. "You're the prettiest person here. There should definitely be proof of that."
"Well, if you say so."
We got out of the car together and walked up to the carpet. The two of us posed for pictures together, with my arm wrapped around his torso.
One of the photographers screamed, "Let's get a photo of the couple kissing, yeah?" The other photographers started laughing. That's when Ted loosened his grip from me and gently let my arm down and walked into the venue. Without me.
Fuck it. I did some solo pictures on the carpet because Keeley was right. I looked fucking fit. When more people started to arrive on the carpet, I walked into the venue by myself. I looked around to see most of the footballers there and also some other people I've never seen. But they all looked scary and rich.
As I glanced around, I saw a table with Ted, Roy, Jamie, Keeley and Nate. I started to walk up to the table when Keeley screamed, "Holy shit!"
"Hi, everyone," I waved, sitting in the empty seat next to Ted and Jamie.
"Let me go grab some drinks. I'll be right back." Ted got up from his chair, stumbling a bit, before running off to the bar.
My cold eyes followed him to the bar and stared at him as he conversed with the bartender.
"What's up his ass?" Keeley questioned.
"Not sure. He was completely fine but then he totally bugged out as soon as one of the photographers called us a couple." I answered.
"What a pussy," Jamie muttered under his breath.
"At least he has a date, Jamie. You're stuck at a table with your ex-girlfriend," I laughed at him, causing Roy to let out an audible laugh. Keeley and I immediately snapped our necks to look up at Roy. He covered up his laugh by clearing his throat.
"Shut the fuck up," Roy said coldly.
Ted came back to the table with a bottle of wine and a shot for each of us. I quickly grabbed the shot out of his hand and took it. Tonight was going to be a long night.
***
One shot turned into two and one glass of wine turned into two. Safe to say, I was properly buzzed.
Ted spent a majority of the night trying to get Roy and Jamie to get along but obviously, they weren't interested. Speaking of uninterested, Ted seemed uninterested whenever I tried to spark a conversation. Ever since the red carpet, he just shut down.
"Whatever," I scoffed and walked away. I found myself walking past Coach Beard making out with his date in the hallway. At least someone here is getting some.
As I approached the bar, I felt a tear fighting to escape my eye. I just didn't understand why Ted was acting like this. Wiping the tear from my eye, I sat at the bar and ordered a water. I should probably try to sober up a bit.
"Do you mind if I sit?" A voice came from behind me. Roy.
"Yeah, of course." I motioned to the seat next to me.
"You alright?"
I chuckled. "What makes you think I'm not doing alright?"
"You scoffed and left the table like a proper fucking lunatic."
"Oh, welp. You got me there." I laughed again and took another sip of my water.
"You're in love with Ted." Roy told me. He didn't even have to ask. He just knew. Not knowing how to respond, I just lowered my head and nodded. "I'm in love with Keeley." That was enough to make my head snap up.
"You what?"
"Yeah. I've been in love with her. It killed me seeing that fucking asshole treat her like that. That's why a part of me hates that prick so much. But now that they're broken up, I just wanna show her what it really feels like to be loved." Roy looked at me.
"At least she's single. Ted, he's- he's married. I can't be the girl that sleeps with a married man. That's just not me." A few tears escaped from my eyes.
"Watson, his wife is all the way across the fucking Atlantic. Between you and I, I don't think things are going well between them anyway. Anytime she calls, he looks fucking miserable. You can be the one to show him how it feels to be properly loved, alright?" Roy reached over and wiped my tears away. Out of my peripherals, I noticed Ted looking at the two of us, looking like he's been shot.
"Thanks, Kent." I smiled. I got up and rubbed his back, showing my gratitude for his friendship. "And if it means anything, and I hope I'm saying this properly, you and Keeley would be the fittest couple in England."
Roy laughed and raised his drink to me before taking a sip. I walked over to Ted before giving him a sad smile. "I'm sorry I walked out. I think I just drank too much." I looked back over to the bar and saw the Keeley took my spot at the bar, making me smile to myself.
"It's okay, Lace. Are you sure you're alright?" He rubbed my shoulder, trying to console me.
I nodded. "Yeah, Ted. Let's go back in." I grabbed his hand, to which surprisingly he didn't pull away, and pulled him back into the room.
As I walked up to the table, Nate had been sitting at the table, obviously being ignored by everyone else. "How's it going, Nate? That's a nice suit." I said, motioning to his outfit.
"This? Oh, thank you! Ted got it for me." I looked over and Ted and smiled.
"For future, just say thank you. You don't have to say that Ted got it for you," I laughed and took a seat next to him.
After a few minutes of conversation, a man came up behind Ted and tapped him on the shoulder, "You must be the man that's managing my club."
"Oh god, Rebecca? You in there?" Ted laughed at the man, trying to joke around.
"Rupert Mannion. Nice to meet you," Rupert shook Ted's hand.
"Ted Lasso, but you already knew that."
Rupert turned his attention to me. "And you must be Mrs. Lasso?"
"Actually I'm Mrs. Watson. Lacy. I do PR for Richmond." I shook his hand.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know Rebecca started hiring supermodels to run the PR, but you know what? Power to her, and to you!"
"Yeah, well. I think my college degree would say differently." My eyes became cold. I hated this guy.
"I hope you two enjoy the event," Rupert rubbed my back as he left, sending chills down my spine.
"Pardon my language for a second, but what an asshole." Ted looked over at me to which I just shrugged. I was used to asshole men. That's one of the downsides of being a woman.
After Rupert hijacked the auction, people were starting to trickle out of the gala. Coach Beard was on the dance floor with his date, Jane. The two of them were just dancing like no one was watching, it was quite entertaining. Next to them was Roy and Keeley in each others arms dancing, which made me heart almost explode. Roy had his eyes closed, he looked like he just wanted to cherish the moment.
"Hey," Ted said as he got up, extending his hand to me, "Wanna dance?"
"You're not gonna ignore me half way through the dance are you?" I laughed as I took his hand in mine and he lead me to the dance floor. Ted perked up as he realized what song was playing.
"Oh would you look at that? Isn't this your favorite singer?" Ted beamed as he took me into his arms and started to sway us back and forth.
I smiled into the crook of his neck when I realized the song playing was "Labyrinth" by Taylor Swift. I brought up Taylor Swift one time the first time we met and he remember this whole time.
As Taylor Swift sang, "Oh no, I'm falling in love," I couldn't help but close my eyes and smile, relating way too much to the song.
It felt like we were the only two people on the dance floor as the song played. Feeling his heartbeat and his body so flush against mine was incredibly euphoric. As the song ended, Ted pulled away so he could look me right in the face. "You know, I'm really sorry about how I acted earlier."
I sighed. "Ted, it's okay. Seriously."
"No, it's not okay. Hearing them call us a couple just really, I don't know, it freaked me out. I'm just trying so hard to save my marriage and I didn't want anything to jeopardize that."
My heart sank a little bit, "I get it. No worries, pal." I playfully punched him on the shoulder. What the fuck was I doing?
Ted smiled at the ground before saying, "Alright, we should probably get out of here. I'm gonna go find Nate and say goodbye real quick. I'll meet you outside."
I quietly gave Roy two thumb's up and winked at him while walking out, seeing that he was still dancing with Keeley. The two of them looked so natural together.
As I walked out of the venue, I ran into Rebecca leaning against the wall, sniffling.
"Are you alright, Ms. Welton?"
She quickly wiped away her tears before cleaning her throat. "Yes, Lacy. I'm okay, thank you. Did you have fun, tonight?"
"Yes, thank you. I had a great time. Except that asshole ex-husband of yours." I sighed, which made her laugh.
"He is a bit of an asshole, isn't he?" She pretended to laugh.
"Listen, Ms. Welton. You are a powerful, independent woman and he's an insecure little boy. Your power scares the shit out of him. Do not let him bring you down. You're way too much of a badass for that." I rubbed her arm.
Her eyes widened as she digested what I had told her. "Thank you. That really means a lot."
"Of course," I saw Ted exit the building, waiting for me by the door. "Have a good night, Ms. Welton."
"Please, call me Rebecca." A warm smile spread across her face.
"Have a good night, Rebecca." I waved goodnight as I ran up to join Ted.
Ted and I walked home in almost perfect silence, the two of us feeling perfectly comfortable just being in the others presence. As we reached the flat, the two of us stood in the foyer for a second, not knowing what to say.
"I really had a great time. Thank you for coming with me, and again, I'm so sorry about acting like a, ya know." Ted seemed almost ashamed.
"Either way, I really had fun, Ted." I smiled up at him. Something washed over me as I was looking up at him and he was looking down at me. I'm not sure if it was the alcohol or the butterflies in my stomach but one of them were telling me to kiss him.
As my hand reached up to cup Ted's face, his eyes started to close as he took a deep breath in. I caressed his face with my thumb while I moved my face closer to his. As I could feel his breath on my lips and the warmth radiating off his face, he pulled away ever so slightly.
"I'm married." He spoke softly. I couldn't bring my hand to leave his face, never knowing if I'd touch his face again. I'd even be okay if I never kissed him. I just wanted to touch him.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm just gonna go." I said erratically while slowly removing my hand from his face and rushing into my flat.
Fuck, I groaned to myself as I walked up the steps. I just needed to go to bed and sleep this off. After slowly getting out of my dress and putting my pajamas on, I sprawled across my bed. I didn't even take my makeup off, I just wanted today to be over.
Five minutes turned into ten and ten minutes turned into fifteen and I couldn't get to sleep. My mind was racing, thinking about the events of tonight. Thinking about the way Ted's breath hitched as he saw me in my dress and how his eyes instantly fell to my cleavage. Thinking about the way Ted's hand crept around my waist during the red carpet and how his thumb rubbed ever so gently on the fabric of my dress. Thinking about the way Ted's body was flushed against mine as we swayed on the dance floor. Thinking about the way I could see Ted's lips quiver as I got close to him, sensing that all he wanted to do was engulf me in him. How his pupils immediately dilated when my thumb caressed his cheek.
As my mind began to race, so did my hand. My eyes fluttered shut as my hand slowly went from cupping my breasts to sliding under the band of my pajamas shorts and underneath my underwear.
A deep sigh escaped my lips as my fingers reached the place that needed attention the most. As I lazily rubbed circles around the little bundle of nerves, my second hand reached back up and cupped my breast as I started to arch my back off the bed. All I could envision was Ted at the bottom of the bed, laying between my legs. His mustache adding to the euphoric feeling his tongue was already providing would push me over the edge. His southern drawl telling me how good of a girl I am and telling me to just let go, all over his face.
Lazy circles turned into quick rapid movements to keep up with my mind's rapid visions of Ted.
Ted, I softly moaned as I visioned him still laying between my legs, my knees bent over his shoulders and my feet interlocked, keeping his neck and head in place.
You're doing so good, darlin. You taste so good, He groaned in my mind.
That's all it took for heat to begin to form in my lower belly. I whined into the darkness of my bedroom as I finished on Ted's face, in my mind of course. In reality, I had just masturbated to the thought of my boss eating me out.
I laid on my bed for about two minutes, trying to catch my breath, and also trying to stop myself from going at it again
Christ, I need to get some sleep. I got up to go to the bathroom when I heard little sounds coming from right beneath me. It sounded like something creaking.
My footsteps stopped in their place so I could hear what was happening. Rhythmic creaking sounds joined by the sound of a low grunting sound.
No fucking way, I thought to myself.
Great minds think alike.
authors note: phew is it hot in here or is it just me? I wasn't gonna post this part until tomorrow but I was literally way too excited to not post it. i hope you enjoyed besties

^the hades 2 dialogue if you want to analyze it for yourslef?
So analyzing this. I do not like how it makes it seem like "he has a hard time saying no to women" which um, Nausica?
One thing I find fascinating is that it's almost like a fucking Hamilton situation with the whole "I still love my wife, I just can't control myself" which yeah bullshit but I know a lot about cheating okay? I've seen it close up for way too much of my life and I know there are people who genuinely feel like this. it's wild as someone who's asexual lol
It also is wild to me that Penelope would hear of her husband's sexual trauma and immediately think betrayal or that he doesn't love her. I've seen a couple people do that and I think it's wildly outta character for Penelope. I think she would have to be the one to constantly be like "Odysseus, you said you were scared... That's not being willing". I think there's a lot of shit going on that shows he has PTSD around sex in general (he was hella excited to be with her again after they reunite lol)
I could see this dialogue as him trying to possibly cover up trauma?? but I doubt that's what Hades 2 is going for. that would make Penelope look bad (that's a crime in and of itself)
Honestly this is just messy. idk I'm mad.
Here's some wips of mine with his trauma shit. It is in no way smut but there are a few innuendos before a fade to black as I plan for Odysseus to often try to cover "bad memories" with good ones. (aka: "Every time I start to panic or the PTSD hits me, I'll just replace all the bad sex memories with good ones." and just clinging to Penelope. This obviously scares her as "holy shit, you were just crying and now you're kissing me.") It's kind of Not Safe for Wormlings but not so much. (I've edited it quite a bit)
“Is that all?” He murmured into her neck. His hands traced across the scales of her collarbone. Gods, he missed this.
“Only minor things…” She scratched her nails into his hair. She smiled as he hummed. He was still the man she adored despite it all. “You’ll have to ask Telemachus what he knows as I only got a brief summary of what he told me.”
A brief summary that included the nymph, he thought bitterly, thinking about how Penelope brought up Calypso to the beggar. Telling him what their son had told her to try and get him to reveal himself, he most likely would’ve if it weren’t for Athena taking pity on him. Helping him hold his tears and panic until he was outside. He should’ve known Penelope would’ve done this though; His wicked woman knew how to break a person. He kissed her throat and felt it buzz under his lips as she giggled as his beard tickled her.
She brushed her fingers against the course, gray auburn hair on his chin. “Who would’ve known that the beard you always wanted would only come to you after two decades away from me.”
He groaned. “Pluck it.”
She giggled again. Music.
(they stayed in silence. Idk this is the roughest draft)
“I’m so happy they’re well…That there’s no resentment.”
Penelope couldn’t help but scoff, pulling her head back to place some kisses on his forehead. He smiled despite his burning throat. “Of course, there’s no resentment. Menelaus adores her as she does him. He knows she would never willfully stay with those men. The gods were involved in every bit of that wretched war.”
She paused, stopping her hand movements. “Why? Are you surprised? Is there something I should know about?”
“No, no, I-” He swallowed. Words escaped him. “I’m just…Happy. Like I said.”
She chuckled. “Odysseus, it’s not like he did anything too incredible for loving her. He did bare minimum, understanding when gods are involved, you have no choice.”
Odysseus’ breath hitched. Penelope stilled, concerned. “Odysseus-”
I’ve ruined this nest we made. “Nothing.” He squeezed her tighter.
She thought for a moment. “Odysseus, I know the gods and fate are the only reason you were away from me. That you tried to come home as fast as you could… I don’t blame you.”
He nodded. He tried to steady his breathing.
He pushed himself off her, kneeling with his legs in between her own and pulling her to him. He began kissing down the column of her neck. Nuzzling where a grouping of scales was before continuing his path, hands never leaving her body.
“Odysseus, I-” She jumped as his teeth gently scraped at her rib. “You know it’s supposed to be your turn to tell your stories.”
HEre's one that's supposed to be a later date. Idk. unfinished but you know.wwwwwww...
Point is, I think it's extremely out of character for Penelope to think he didn't "try hard enough" or whatever. She loves him. She knows him. They share a mind for fuck's sake. In mine, she technically is less mortal than he is as she's 75% Naiad in my works.

The first time Ned realized he loved his wife's hair. or the first time Cat realized how much Ned loves her hair.
Here’s both because it was too adorable to not do both. Enjoy!
Catelyn had taken to sleeping with her head on his chest. He did not believe it had been by choice the first time, at least not that she was aware of. He had woken in the middle of the night to find a weight on top of him and it had taken a few seconds for him to realise it was his wife. She had been fast asleep, he had figured out that much from how she was breathing.
About a week of waking up to her head on his chest in the darkest hour of the night had passed, then he had decided to simply pull her close while they were still awake. It had taken her by surprise, though she had been happy to accept his gesture. Which he was quite satisfied with as he for some unknown reason had been very nervous beforehand.
Catelyn fell asleep much faster than he did. It took no time at all before she drifted off and left him alone in the room. Often his mind wandered when he was alone, though it was different when Catelyn was in his arms. It seemed his thoughts always wandered towards her.
The warmth of his body so close to his, her scent, her calm breathing. And her hair. By the gods, her hair.
The light of the fire caught the red in her hair, made it shine. Gleam as if it was also fire. Though it was the opposite of fire, it was so soft under his fingers. Flowing through his hands like water. Thick, smooth waves that he could bury both his hands in.
Both Sansa and Robb had her hair. Robb had a full head of thick curls that the maids cooed over. On Sansa it was still naught but wisps, though it was clear she would be like Catelyn. So small, yet just like her.
Both their children had the most beautiful auburn hair, hair they had after their mother. Yet that mother had sounded just a little disappointed when she handed their daughter to Ned for the first time. She had been smiling, though it had bled through in her voice.
Catelyn slept with her hair in a braid every night. That kept it from getting all tangled up, saved her a lot of pain with brushing it each morning. Ned knew it was for the better to let her keep it that way. Still his fingers itched with the need to touch. It was all he could think of, the only thing he wanted.
With one hand and his eyes on her face he slowly undid the end of her braid. It was easier than he would have thought and suddenly her hair was free. Catelyn did not seem to notice, her face did not change. She was still and peaceful.
With ease he brushed her hair out of the braid, let it cascade down her back. He would never tire of that sight. To believe he was allowed not only to see it, but also to touch. She was his wife, and she had the most beautiful hair Ned had ever seen.
Catelyn had spoken with some disappointment about disappointment regarding that their children had her hair. Ned could not understand, not in the slightest. He loved her hair. He would be happy to see all their children carry it.
~*~
Lord Eddard Stark was a man of few words. Often he let silence speak rather than do so himself. At first it had brought Catelyn some unease, though with time she had learned to find comfort in it. It was pleasant to simply share a silence sometimes.
She had sent her maid out so that they might be alone in their silence. How she had come to love those peaceful evenings when it was just the two of them making themselves ready for the night.
With a sigh Catelyn sat by her dressing table and reached for her brush. She needed only brush and braid her hair, then she could join her husband in the bed. She found herself longing for his warm embrace more and more often.
Ned sat on the edge of the bed, gave her a small smile when she caught him watching her through the looking glass. There was a softness to him, it had taken her some time to find it. Under his lord’s face there was a loving heart.
“Might I do that, my lady?”
Hearing him speak took her by surprise.
“Do what?”
Catelyn turned in her chair to look at him directly and found that he wouldn’t meet her gaze. His eyes were turned to the floor instead.
“What is it you want to do, my lord?” she said gently.
Ned’s eyes flickered to the brush she still held in one hand. Then he finally looked at her.
“Might I brush your hair?”
His voice grew quieter towards the end of the sentence, though it did not quiver and once his eyes had found hers they did not avert again. Soft and grey, his eyes were. Not entirely unlike fog.
Catelyn had never heard of a man who wished to brush his wife’s hair. Though Ned was somewhat different from most men she had met before. Strange in his very own little ways.
Though why would she tell him no? Her hair needed to be brushed, she had nothing against him being the one to do it.
“If you wish” she said, struggling to keep back a smile.
There was so much she still had yet to learn of him.
When she held out the brush towards him he left his place on the bed and came over to her. Very carefully he took the brush from her hand, looking rather dire as he did so. As if he was to do something he took with great seriousness.
Ned’s hands were scarred and calloused, yet so gentle as he touched her hair. Feeling him begin to work with her hair sent shivers down her spine. It was a good feeling.
From the crease between his eyebrows he was deeply concentrated on his task. He did not seem to notice how she looked at him with a smile, it was an endearing sight. To believe her husband was brushing her hair.
Though as she sat there with Ned standing behind her a thought began forming in her mind. Some time ago she had found herself waking in the morning with her hair no longer in a braid. It had happened more and more often, and it didn’t seem to matter how much she made sure the end of the braid was tied properly. She had been rather confused by it as she had never had trouble with it before. Occasionally it happened, though definitely not almost every night.
Was he so fond of her hair? Did he undo her braid at night just so he could run his fingers through it?
A snort escaped her as the realisation struck her and immediately Ned’s eyebrows shot up.
“What say you I do not braid my hair this night, my lord?” she asked.
Ned said nothing, kept brushing her hair. Though something about it all told her he was not entirely unsatisfied.

Personifications of Dream SMP Factions
Okay so I came up with this idea during my exams. (Exams always do something to my brain lol) I was thinking about Pandora's Vault as a hot butch, then I remembered this fic about L'Manberg personified, plus this fic about personified countries, and it somehow spiraled into this.
(This is all based on personal interpretation & recollection of DSMP lore, please don't come at me for getting things wrong!)
The rest of the post is under the cut:
I gave all the factions it/its pronouns, since they're manifestations of, well, factions. I think they would have other preferred pronouns though, mostly related to the faction's characteristics.
(For instance, Snowchester uses he/him pronouns because Tubbo and Ranboo are so close & act almost like one entity.(I know, I know, c!Ranboo uses they/them pronouns too, but idk I thought this fit...) On the other hand, Manberg uses he/him pronouns because it's a dictatorship and Schlatt operates the country as the sole mastermind behind it all. Pandora's Vault uses she/her pronouns because Pandora deserves to be a butch because while Sam is its warden, Pandora is, at it's core, different from what Sam himself strives to achieve.)
Plus, all factions have an inherent love for its' members/citizens, since any faction is a collective of its people. Except Pandora, bc y'know, she's a literal prison.
Also!!! every name mentioned is c!, not cc!.
-
L'Manberg- (it/they/he/she) Dressed in L'Manberg soldier attire. Looks like a mix of all the L'Manbergians. Hair is auburn, kinda curly, and wears red-and-blue tinted sunglasses. Has fox ears(?), braces, is boisterous and kinda overdramatic. Enjoys growing flowers, beekeeping, and baking. Follows the L'Manbergians around, Wilbur and Tommy the most. Pretty young, but gets older and more serious as the war drags on. Manifested in the drug van.
Pogtopia- (it/he/they/she) L'Manberg's other form. Hair is darker now(more like Wilbur's than a mix of everyone's), has eyebags, sunglasses are gone, and dresses darker. Looks like Wilbur mostly now, but near-exclusively follows Tommy around like he's a lifeline. Is not manic like Wilbur, despite looking a lot like him now, and recognizes how far-gone Wilbur is. It tries very hard to cheer up the rest of the Pogtopia people.
L'Manberg(new)- (it/they/he/she) Dresses in red, blue, yellow, black and white again(not the soldier attire, but the flag design is incorporated into its clothes), is scarred all over and sadder. Hair is blond now. Tried to follow Tommy to exile but Tubbo stopped it. Cries every day & grows weaker.
L'Manberg(post-doomsday)- (it/they/he/she) A ghost. Invisible to most now, new members of the SMP can't see it unless they're told about L'Manberg. And even then, it's very hard to see or recognize them. Tommy sees him clearly though, and she still follows Tommy everywhere. Even more scarred and wounded now. Sad and quiet.
Manberg- (it/he) Wears a suit, has ram horns, and face is completely featureless, no eyes or nose or mouth. Has dark, slicked back hair. Follows Schlatt around silently. Usually follows Schlatt's orders without complaint, but absolutely refuses to hurt anyone, even at the expense of being hurt itself by Schlatt. Tried to stop Tubbo's execution and ended up being blown up as well. Didn't die(since Manberg was still intact) but his featureless face gained a huge scar like Tubbo's. This scar stayed even after Tubbo went to Pogtopia. Exact age is difficult to determine, but is physically quite small.
the Butcher Army- (it/they) Dresses in black clothes with the Butcher Army standard bloody apron. Face is shaded and unremarkable, just one face in a crowd. Doesn't speak much, and when they do, it's just general Butcher Army stuff like how they're trying to bring Technoblade to justice, or whatever. Doesn't seem to have much personality.
Snowchester- (it/he) Young, younger than L'Manberg was. Looks a little like it too. Has snowy gray hair(a mix of Ranboo's black and white), goat horns like Tubbo, and is missing an eye like Michael. The other eye is wintery green. Dresses in snow clothes, a black-and-white bomber jacket and a pale green-blue dress shirt with a tie underneath. Is quiet, has a shy smile like Ranboo, and is generally quite innocent like Michael. He likes pranks and chaos too though, like Tubbo. It's a peaceful little thing, but if you somehow get him angry its eye will turn purple and his body will start giving off a pale, eery green glow like radioactivity.
Kinoko Kingdom- (it/she) Looks like her namesake, Komori Kinoko from My Hero Academia. (Specifically, Komori's powered-up version with the chubbier cheeks and visible eyes, not her normal, emo version.) Wears light flowy clothes in earthy colors, soft purples and blues and ruddy browns and greens. Loves taking naps in the sunshine, reading old books, and exploring the Kingdom. Tiny mushrooms sprout wherever it walks, which is usually just inside the borders of the Kingdom. She never really goes far beyond that. Also likes training & sparring, though it tends to be relaxed about it, treating it more as a sport than anything else. She's usually sweet and kind, but also a tad chaotic. Bit forgetful. Looks somewhere in its twenties.
Las Nevadas- (it/he) Also looks somewhere in its twenties, though it looks a bit younger than Kinoko. Gelled-back jet-black hair, classy dark green beanie(beanie like Q, green like Slime, dark bc Classy™️). Dress shirt, tie, suspenders. Lots of gold accessories. Has a few purple freckles on its face, and orange highlights in his hair. Maybe green creeper markings? Give the boi some neon splashes. Acts slick and confident(and kinda manipulative) like a businessman with outsiders, but is super nice and sorta anxious when he's only with his members. Cares way too much about its citizens, even though it knows Purpled doesn't like him. Low self-esteem. Usually follows Quackity. Q flaunts its existence to people & is genuinely very proud of his country, but is also slightly unnerved by his knowledge of Nevadas's real personality. He knows personified factions reflect its people and the ideals it stands for, but he isn't entirely sure what Nevadas's nervous, slightly obsessive disposition is implying. Also, Nevadas has a crush on Kinoko. Kinoko is a bit confused, but thinks Nevadas is cute, so she might as well go along with it. Nevadas puts on a suave & slick act with Kinoko, though Kinoko can see right through it. She thinks he's sweet and silly, and also maybe a little lonely. Q doesn't approve of them flirting so much, and tells Nevadas to stop visiting Kinoko all the time. Not that Nevadas listens.
the Eggpire- (it/they/he/w̴͚̮͒̇̓e̴̺̬͉̅̋) Demon with red skin, white glowing eyes, two huge horns of red diamond sprouting from its head, and flowing robes. Has a missing arm, torn-up fairy wings, a red gold medallion, and a cat tail. Looks like a child, but you can tell it only looks like one. Unnerving smile with sharp predatory teeth(also red), sweet & melodious voice, silver-tongued and manipulative. Upon closer inspection, you can see that their entire body, clothes and all, is made of writhing, pulsing red vines.
the Syndicate- (it/she/they) Nicknamed Syndi by her members. Electric pink hair with a black-and-white half-and-half streak, tied in a short, tiny braid down one shoulder. Large black angel wings and enderman horns(one black, one white). Wears fingerless gloves, the opposite color of the horn on that side. Blood-red eyes. Anarchist, obviously. Snarky and deadpan, but smiles a lot too, and is generally quite a warm and kind person. Is nimble & fast on their feet, and is a quick thinker. A wise scholar and fearsome warrior, a sharp-eyed strategist. Enjoys reading, baking, and dancing with its members. Looks like a young adult. +Also, I haven't decided whether the faction personification thing is a general occurrence or strictly a DSMP thing, but if it's a general thing, Syndi is best friends(and possibly in a QPR) with the Antarctic Empire(it/he, fully-grown adult, nicknamed Antares, AE emperor attire, blue-and-white bucket hat with a wider brim than Phil's, thin and pointy white gold crown, snowy-white longish hair with ice-blue eyes, one emerald earring, giant white wings and piglin hooves, loves the thrill of battle, enjoys reading & woodcarving, makes lots of deadpan jokes, would like to just retire already please and thank you).
Pandora's Vault- (it/she) Ah yes, the one who started this whole ordeal. Despite me imagining Pandora as a hot butch at the start, I changed Pandora to be a teenager! Albeit a butch & pretty teenager. Looks like a creeper mostly, like Awesamdude, but her torso is made of crisscrossing obsidian bars that resemble a prison or a really messed up ribcage. Usually wears enchanted golden armor on top of it though. Has long hair that looks like dark curling smoke with lava-like streaks running through it, and a gold head guard that kinda looks like a tiara. Has a gold gas mask too. Stickler for the rules, as expected of it, and scarily efficient with weaponry. She seems stoic and fierce on the outside, all rigid ideals and indifferent cruelty, but it's actually really desperate for peace and order. Would go to extreme lengths to enforce order. Dislikes Dream and Technoblade. Also doesn't like Ponk. While Sam feels guilty about what he did to Ponk, Pandora is quite vocal about her opinion that Ponk had it coming to them. Is uncomfortable with opening the prison cell for Quackity, but thinks it's for the greater good that he gets the Revive Book away from Dream. Not many hobbies, it spends most of its free time patrolling/guarding the Vault. She does like inventing though, usually things to improve the efficiency of the prison. Sam was surprised when she appeared, since he didn't think Pandora counted as a faction. He still treats it like a daughter though. She's daddy's little girl.
Greater Dream SMP- (it/they/he) A child. Really. It looked like Dream at first(at least, people assumed that was what Dream looked like behind the mask), with straw-blond hair, bright green eyes, and pale freckles. It gained new features every time a new person joined the server. When they grew up, they grew up suddenly, aging in shocking speed during the L'Manberg War. He settled as a sad, serious adult with a haunted look in his eyes. It stopped following Dream after he went further and further off the deep end, choosing to wander the land instead- keeping well away from L'Manberg(and later, other countries) of course. Slowly loses the features they got from people who abandoned the Greater Dream SMP to create their own country/faction. Eventually people stop seeing him and think he's disappeared, but he's still there, just lurking. It looks unremarkable now, with next to no distinctive features. They hang out with Eret in her palace and museum(they love the museum), visits multiple factionless members of the SMP, and greets/sends off Aimsey on their little pit stop in the server. When the server loops & resets, he resets alongside with it, and returns to his original form. It kept all it's memories, but it never says anything, choosing instead to give its people a fresh start, with a blank slate.
-
I probably missed a few factions, but this is all I could think of haha.
Also I accidentally posted this as a draft a few days ago, panicked, and privated the post in record time. This is a repost😅

I'm doing my autistic son Raven because he's my favorite child (and I have the most actually written for him 😅)
"I'd protect you even if it wasn't my job."
“How many times have I told you that you need to be more careful with sharp things, princess?”
“I agree that they [Sapphire's parents] are a little much, but if I don’t do my job and get you back before they realize you’re gone, they will quite literally kill me. And I would prefer to keep my head attached to my body.”
Raven’s head whipped between the bandits now barreling towards them, and the princess. “Did you do that on purpose?” / She grinned smugly and shrugged. “Maybe.”
“I need to get out of here,” He gasped, “Can-... Can we go somewhere else, please? Somewhere that’s not so-” He squeezed his eyes shut. “...Loud?”
“I can braid hair,” He said, “I’ve mentioned before I have sisters, you think I never braided their hair?”
She shifted, turning so her back was to him. “Alright. Do your worst.” / He gently pulled her long auburn locks out of its braid, softly detangling them. “I intend to do my best, actually.”
“What about this: if you promise to be a little more careful and not put yourself in danger, I’ll-“ his face twisted in confusion and concentration for a second. “I’ll… breathe down your neck less…” He blinked, running a hand through his soft, dark brown waves. “Is that what you meant? That’s what you meant, right?” [my sweet autistic son, i love you]
"I think kidnapping someone to be their slave over a stream is more rude than what I said."
"Do you think I got all of them?" / Raven nodded to the glittery carnage in her wake. "Uh, yes, I think you did." He rubbed his sore wrists, then gestured cautiously to his sword. "Can I... have my sword back please?"
“Do you ever wish you hadn’t become my bodyguard?” / “Sometimes-” Sapphire’s face fell and he quickly added. “-but other times I wouldn’t change it for the world. You’re the most frustrating person I’ve ever met, but… also the most happy and excited to live. I haven’t known a lot of people that were excited to just live.”
[Raven] “You’re kind of ruining my rescue plan.” / [Sapphire] “Oh, I’m ruining your plan? You’re the one ruining my escape plan-”
“I will always come for you, you understand?” He told her. His voice cracked as he choked on tears, but he couldn’t have cared less. “I will always come for you, no matter how long it takes. And if you ever end up in that awful place again, I’ll bust down those dark gates myself. You’re never going back there if I have anything to say about it.”
“What if it weren’t murder though? What if it were… an unfortunate accident? We need the life essence for the spell don’t we? And the animals we’re killing for food clearly aren’t going to make enough for the spell.” He leaned on his wagon where his princess was fast asleep under her curse. “I’m just saying-”
“No. Well-” Raven bit his lip as he watched her sleep on his shoulder. “She never got them before. After rescuing her from the sleeping curse… she gets them every night now." ... "She’s not scared of anything, ma. Or… she wasn’t… until…”

The Stone On The Wall
Chapter 11 of (?)
A/N: Sorry for the delay!! I had surgery and got really depressed lmao
Previous Chapter:
Bilbo threw his coat on as they walked outside, wrapping it close to him to keep the chill of the winter air out. He looked up at the auburn-haired elf as she let out a small breathy laugh, music to his ears. He could see why Kili was so infatuated with her, her brown eyes sparkling in contrast to her pale skin. “May I ask what is so funny, my lady?” Bilbo already knew her answer, but remained hopeful.
“Why, Master Baggins, it is simply endearing how you and Master Oakenshield walk on eggshells around each other. Though I must admit, if Master Oin hadn’t interrupted when he had, we might be burying a dwarf or two today. Whether it be Kili and Fili for embarrassing you and their uncle, or their uncle dying from said embarrassment.” She tilted her head back as she laughed again, and Bilbo could see how the young princes had been a terrible influence on her. He shook his head in response, as he tried to come up with an excuse to save his and Thorin’s pride.
“Whatever you lot thought you saw, don’t even think about telling anyone else. I.. I think we’re both still trying to figure ourselves out. As a Baggins, I should know better than to rush into anything without thinking.” Bilbo picked his head up from where he had been watching his feet, glancing around at the men and dwarfs mingling together while staring at the pair and talking amongst themselves. The elfs that had stayed mostly stuck to themselves, though a few were also gawking at them. He shot a nasty look at one elf who felt familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it. He felt Tauriel place her hand on his shoulder with a tight grip, and when he looked up he could see a similar look on her face as she stared the elf down. He turned back to face the elf, but she had turned away.
“Let’s get you back in bed, Master Baggins, we don’t want Master Oin to have to come looking for us.” Tauriel’s voice was tight as she spoke, and she moved her hand to be between Bilbo’s shoulder blades, almost ushering him to turn back towards their tent.
“Who was that? She felt.. It felt like I had met her before, but I don’t recognize her face.” Bilbo racked his brain, trying to see if he could dredge up a memory of the elf they had seen. He looked back up at Tauriel as she sighed, before glancing down at him. “That was Hûredhiel, she was our chief medical elf. I cannot speak for what the facts are, but it is true that she did not see you fit to be saved.” She looked back up as she talked, guiding them through the crowd, “I spoke with my king, and he had her dismissed from her position. King Thranduil holds you in high regards, as do the rest of us. What you did potentially saved us from pointless bloodshed, and we will do our best to show our gratitude.” They had reached the tent as Tauriel finished, but Bilbo grabbed her wrist before she moved to go inside.
“Do the others..” Bilbo licked his lips as he tried to gather his thoughts, “Do the others know? I mean, that she was dismissed. I know she wasn’t the kindest, but I’d hate for her to be harassed on top of losing her job, you know how these dwarfs can get when it comes to someone they care about.” The last part had slipped out, he hadn’t even acknowledged to himself that the company cared about him. Sure they liked him, he did his part of the contract and helped them get their home back, but he still wasn’t fully convinced that they actually cared. He was pulled out of his thoughts as Tauriel responded.
“I can make sure they know, if that will help ease you. Though I think you already know that it might do little for them.” Tauriel smiled warmly down at the hobbit, as she turned to face him fully before getting down on one knee to be eye level with him. She gently placed her hands on his shoulders, “You are far too kind for this world, Master Baggins, I pray your light never dims.”
Bilbo waved her off as she stood back up, “Please, just call me Bilbo. Now, I think we have worried them quite enough. After you, my lady.” Tauriel laughed, shaking her head at him. She parted the tent flap and walked in, while Bilbo mustered up his courage to follow her.
Bilbo’s shoulders slumped down as he entered the tent, no longer having to brace fully against the cold. He hadn’t noticed how sore he had gotten from walking, and started to weakly hobble back to his cot. He huffed as he all but threw himself down, burying himself under the furs to warm his face. He groaned in protest as Oin started prodding at him, before finally emerging from his bundle. “Sorry laddie, but I’ve got to make sure you can still feel and use everythin’, you know how this goes. Sit up now, I’ll try to make it quick.” Bilbo did as he was instructed, sitting up fully and pulling his arms out from where he had them warming up. He wiggled his fingers and toes, closed his eyes and told Oin where he felt him touching. He twitched his nose, always slightly annoyed at having to do this after every walk. “Well, you’ve got the all clear for today. Maybe give it a couple more days and we won’t have to do this as often.” Oin grunted as he stood up from his chair, his old bones creaking from the cold. Bilbo decided to take off his coat and throw it on the chair beside him before curling back under the furs. The only part of him not under the covers was his hair, which he could feel was sticking out wildly. He poked his head out enough to peek at the rest of the tent when he heard a low rumble, almost like thunder. He looked over and saw Thorin was once again lying flat on his back, and was watching him tenderly.
Thorin could feel his cheeks heating as he realized he was caught watching Bilbo, and felt the flush running up to his ears and down his neck as Bilbo laughed. He hadn’t realized just how much he missed hearing it, and decided right then that he would do anything to make sure the hobbit stayed this happy. He threw a small, shy smile at Bilbo, and was rewarded with a soft one in return. He waited until Bilbo had buried himself back under the covers before moving his head back to stare at the ceiling. He heard his nephews laughing, and could only assume they were laughing at him. He lifted up one of the pillows behind his head and chucked it in the general direction of where they would be. He smiled when it was met with a satisfying thud and muttered swears from Fili.
“That is no way to treat the injured, uncle! I’ll send for Oin if I must!” He rolled his eyes at Kili’s upset, knowing that they’d rather tell their Amad their worst secrets than be dealing with Oin again at this moment. As much as Thorin respected the healer, even he felt as though he was being overbearing. Thorin sighed, knowing that Oin had his reasons and was doing everything that was best for them, he just wished he could get out of this damned cot! He had barely been allowed to sit up for anything that wasn’t eating or using the chamber pot, which had to be brought to his side. It was humiliating, a king being reduced to this state. He rubbed at his face with both hands, digging the palms into his eyes until he could see stars behind his eyelids. He turned his head back to the side, watching the gentle rhythm of Bilbo’s breath rising under the furs he was still curled under. He smiled to himself, closing his eyes and falling asleep to the sound of Bilbo’s breathing as he waited for dinner.

Do you have any OC’s for Lackadaisy who didn’t make it into the fic or who were made after you started writing? I love hearing about all of them so much
;v; wagh
So 2~3 of these kitties are connected to Devil's Moon characters but probably won't show up (or at least, will only be mentioned), and two arent related to it at all.
Viviana Carmina Holst - Slyvester's wife, who Ive thought so much about but may not even show up "on camera" LOL. A calico with auburn hair she keeps in a fairly old-fashioned style, to match her more modest dress. She's thin and has big, bright green-brown eyes.
She's quite sociable, observant, easygoing and a terrible cardshark. She loves company and doesn't get it nearly as much as she'd like; they live in a modest yet well-decorated home outside St. Louis city limits. Carmina comes from a large Italian family. She was the first of her siblings to be born in America. She's always been known as Carmina to them (there were already three Vivianas in the extended family), and Vivi to her husband.
Because she and Slyvester could not have children, they adopted three nephews after the boys' parents passed (Carmina's side). The boys are now grown and the two oldest are quite successful. The youngest still lives with them to help his mother, as Carmina is disabled and Slyvester works a lot, and they've yet to find a live-in nurse that suits them.
Carmina and Slyvester grew up together in the same Italian-majority neighborhood; his family is Danish and was one of the few non Italians on the block. Carmina's parents approved of him bc he agreed to convert, they knew he wasn't a drinker, and they were relieved their sickly daughter was able to get married and have someone take care of her for the rest of her life.
Flynn's Family - I've thought a lot about them but I don't think they'll be super relevant or come up, alas. His older brother Seamus is fairly important to the business, but rarely makes himself known. He has some pretty bad physical and mental damage from the war, so tends to be anti-social, plus years of Flynn's emotional manipulation have taken their toll. Tomas was the youngest and the golden child, died in the war. Flynn couldn't stand him. Sorcha was older than Tomas but younger than Flynn, I'm still unsure what happened exactly, but she's not around her parents anymore. They didn't really dote on her like they did the boys, or Tomas.
Their mother was tall and slender, while the father was more stout and broad, and a little shorter - only Seamus had his build and coloring, the rest of the children were looked and were built like their mama. All of them had orange and black markings but the Flynn we know is the only chimera.
I keep wanting to think of more for the family - their history, and appearances and whatnot, but then I pull back because it "won't be relevant" in Devil's Moon ... well, might do it anyway bc I just like writing family dynamics and drama, lol. I already wrote a ton about Carmina so might as well.
Okay these two are 100% not UTDM related and from an Arkham Horror board game/kinda tabletop bc we rp'd it a ton. The setting is 1920s anyway, and I forced my friends to play and make lackadaisy OCs (it was my birthday damn it 😂). These two characters rotted a crater in my brain for 2 weeks straight and I still like em a ton. Sister Marguerite was mine and Father Elijah was initially my partner's but I have since stolen him haha.
Sister Marguerite, formerly Adelaide Whitaker. Wheeww... so much to say here but I'll condense it. Originally from a wealthy East Coast family, she was forcefully sent to a "wellness and manners" sort of school for "esteemed ladies" that was really just a ruse to hide her pregnancy. It wasn't a Magdalene asylum/laundry, though. She lost the child, but a handful of nuns showed her such kindness (and she'd had religious-fixated OCD for years that her family actively made worse anyway) that she converted to Catholicism and began the process of becoming a nun once she was old enough. She's happy with her current life, enough that her OCD has lessened somewhat, but ofc there are still bad days. She often fixates on physical purity, baptism and "healing water"; most of her sisters chalk her "peculiarities" up to her extreme devotion and are willing to overlook her bad, spiraling days bc shes v dear to them. She's a good-hearted woman, quiet, and doesn't scare easily. Puts others before herself again and again.
As a cat, she's white with unsettling sectorial heterochromia, big slender ears, and an odd face. Lackadaisy cats are generally pretty cute but she's meant to be more "homely". Her eyes are more unnerving than striking. This is the photo that was the first inspiration for her, though this kitty is very cute, haha. If she were human I think she'd have bright eyes and a very plain face. I've drawn her but my art is pretty oof! I need to keep practicing bc her face and headshape in particular are kinda different.
Actually considered reworking her backstory to be one of Jack's many siblings; he did have a sister who ran off, but thats kinda irrelevant in UTDM rn. If anything itd be mentioned in an epilogue.
Father Elijah - A handsome man from a good Midwestern family. They were disappointed when Elijah joined the church, feeling like he was wasting his potential. He's always felt close to God and wanted to help others, but he's also a deeply scholarly person and loves theology, even if some things he studies would be considered heretical. This doesn't necessarily mean he's open minded, especially to those he considers "irredeemable", but he's always polite, protective of his flock and usually a pretty affable guy.
Elijah certainly has some kind of mental stuff rolling around in his noggin; I don't want to call it disorder or illness, especially since he doesn't really have a name for it at the time period (like Marguerite with her OCD). In the tabletop, they came to Arkham together as allies and quickly became rather ... obsessed with each other. He's very fixated with Marguerite, believing her to be a pinnacle of what a godly person should be, and later believing she can actually speak to angels (or is one??). He wants so much of her attention, to hear her opinions and interpretations of faith. To say he puts her on a pedestal is an understatement. Calling it "romantic" interest isnt the whole picture, and too simple for... whatever the hell he's got going on. Marguerite admires him deeply but in a more "inspired" way. Platonic is also too simple for what she's feeling, but her attachment certainly isn't as deep as his.
As a cat he's an orange tabby with pretty blue eyes. Meant to be a really tall good looking dude, a contrast to Sister Margy. Maaany women in the church have admired him but he's never considered or indulged in feelings like that until Marguerite; he doesn't even consider his appearance much. Just tries to keep tidy. I also terribly drew him real quick for the tabletop. I think his ears should have kind of a cute shape and he's got extra fur around his face :3 Still not sure on what sort of tail he'd have, though.
Shoutout to tabletop!Father Elijah who dual wielded a pistol and giant crucifix on the regular, constantly threw himself into danger to save Margie and slowly became twisted by the dark powers he was trying so hard to stop 👍🏽 One of my favorite scenes was both of them jumping into a portal together, then getting separated bc we rolled poorly and they both got HP/Sanity down to 0. Elijah woke up in the hospital in extreme pain, left without fully restoring HP and ran all the way back to the church to find Marguerite. They held each other at the altar for a while and she gave him her rosary bc he lost his crucifix in the void. and they promised to never leave each other again and stayed attached at the hip in spite of the usual eldritch horrors. normal arkham horror things. I'd love to make Arkham LCG cards for them; theyve already got custom cards for the 2nd edition board game (but now my other fixations and nerdness is showing so ill stop here).
(shoutout to that poor eldritch-corrupted NPC who sister marguerite believed needed a baptism to restore him, so father elijah held the dude down while he almost drowned and margeurte prayed over him and one party member witnessed all this and told the others so EVERYONE avoided "those catholic freaks" for the whole session sdkdskfs)
#most of my lackadaisy OCs went to UTDM in some way soooo yeah lol#its my baby what can i say#i also made canon Lackadaisy investigators for Arkham Horror 2nd#id LOVE to make investigators for the card game bc its so cool but alas i dont get to play much#so im not confident in investigator balance and abilities and such#god this is so niche even for this blog lol#anyway weird priest and nun my absolute beloveds#libra says#need a tag for when i talk really dumb shit#anons !!

Hello! If you're still doing them, could I please get a Baldur's Gate 3 matchup? I'm bedridden right now from joint pain and need a pick-me-up, but if they're closed feel free to ignore this.
Gender: Genderfluid, but leans towards feminine
Pronouns: Any, but I tend to use she/her because it's honestly just more convenient
Sexuality: Any gender is fine. I might slightly prefer a man but if you think a girl would fit better don't let that stop you ☺️
Appearance: I am a 4’ 10” (147 cm) tall fem-aligned person with long wavy auburn hair, glasses and a fashion sense that varies widely from masc to fem. I'm almost never seen without my compression braces on because I have pretty terrible joint pain, so I've got compression socks, knee braces, shorts for hip pain, gloves for finger joint pain and am generally carrying quite a lot of medical equipment on me at all times lol. That being said, I try to work out when I can so I am getting pretty muscular and enjoy impressing people with my muscles because nobody really expects it.
MBTI: INFJ-T
Personality: I'm a very kind, friendly person but I still have a bit of fiery energy. I'm very passionate and will stand up and verbally smackdown anyone if I feel it's deserved, though generally I'm quite polite. I know tons of random trivia because I research and take notes obsessively. I have autism so the main way I communicate is by infodumping, and I can get easily thrown off in conversation when someone says something I don't expect. I love debating people respectfully, but I really do try to be very nice and as helpful as I possibly can be. I also kind of struggle to ask for help when I need it because I get embarrassed. Plus I am a very stubborn person in general. But most of all I'm very dedicated to self improvement and always strive to be a better version of myself.
Likes: Books and researching, Plants, Witchcraft and occultism, Mythology and religious studies, Linguistics, Exercising and working out and especially Science in general
Dislikes: My chronic illnesses, Heights, Being teased or made fun of (I make a point of not doing this to others either and even when debating I never go for personal jabs), People who are obviously misinformed but refuse to change, Rude and toxic people (If you're going to waste my time being a jerk you're not worth my time at all)
Extra Fun Fact: I currently work at a library and am hoping to become both a researcher and spirit medium
Race: Given my height, probably a halfling or dwarf of some kind
Class: Probably a Paladin or Cleric, maybe with a Wizard multiclass because I'm such a nerd lol
D&D Alignment: Neutral Good. I'm committed to doing good but not too strictly. Basically the “Yeah, but it would be funny” type of morality
Thanks so so much, I hope you have a fantastic day! Take care of yourself!
I hope this helps you feel better! I wish you nothing but a speedy healing process. You seem like a fantastic person. Thank you for letting me write to you!
~~~~~ MATCHUPS ~~~~~
BG3
Wyll Ravengaurd
~~~~~ HEADCANONS ~~~~~
Wyll is a gentleman with you, always seeking to get to know you and respect the newfound leader.
He was a lone wolf for so long that now, having a crew of friends and someone he holds near and dear is a fresh summer's breath for him.
He is afraid of Mizora, though. Not that she would hurt him; she wouldn't get anything out of that. He fears the restrictions, rules, and stipulations she would put on him if he sought you out.
Due to this, Wyll tried so hard to keep you at arm's length, only letting you know small fragments of him.
When Mizor made her debut, he felt better about his chances with you. He knew having someone as kind, understanding, and warm as you by his side was just what he needed.
Wyll courted you properly, asking if you would like to explore romance with him, go on small dates, and even take a dance lesson here and there.
No matter how badly he wanted to kiss you, though, he kept refraining until you asked him.
Once you two were past courting and officially together, he made it a point to get explicit permission from Mizora to tell you about Avernus and the Demons who inhabited the other planes.
He may have had to do a shady thing or two to earn this privilege, but it was worth seeing your eyes light up when sharing this limited knowledge.
When freed of the illithid, he would happily give up galivanting across the sword coast to settle down with you. He would only leave because Mizora asked him for assistance.
Wyll watched you flourish as a shopkeeper for books and magical resources, things only your humble shop could attain because of Wyll's Connections and adventures.
If you ever had a tough day or became bedridden, Wyll would drop everything to assist you. He would be your personal nurse. He'd even call Halsin or Shadowheart to help if he was worried about his lack of skill.
~~~~~ BLURB ~~~~~
It was a cold day in Faerun; snow had just coated the land and would soon fall again. You were seated in the foyer of your new home, watching the outdoors grow colder. You, however, were quite warm. A hand-knitted blanket was wrapped around you, and a warm fur pelt Mizora gifted you adorned your shoulders. Wyll was by the fire, tending to it. Today was tough for your body; everything was sore and hurting. Wyll did everything he could to help, even utilizing the books and notes Shadowheart and Halsin left for him.
As soon as the warmth was at its peak in the home, Wyll kissed you atop your head and made his way to the kitchen. He would prepare a meal for you two and ensure you had some sustenance. While still staring out at the beautiful white blanket of snow, the thought occurred to you that you were the fearless leader of the band that killed the neatherbrain. The illithid gave you an extraordinary gift of no more pain for the price of being turned. To think you almost took that risk but instead knew your humanity was far more a gift. Plus, you would have lost all the amazing friends you made.
Now, by your partner's side, you were even more confident in your choices because you wouldn't have him. Wyll returned some food and assisted you when you needed it. Once satisfied, you two decide some more rest would do you both well. Wyll had just returned a day or two ago from a grueling task from Mizora. Wyll gently picked you up and walked you back to your room. He knew just as well as you that you could take care of yourself, as you have done this time and time before, but his help was always so warm and appreciated. Once in bed, Wyll curled in behind you, holding you close. With one final kiss on your head, you both fell into a simple slumber. You might feel well enough to build a snowman when you wake.
~~~~~ EXTRA ~~~~~
(Just after the freedom of the shadow fell, your group was looking over the security tower at the beginnings of Baldur's Gate. Taking camp before continuing on to your final destination.)
Y/N: Wyll, look at this someone left an enchanted Rapier!
Astarion: ooooh, and quite the liquor selection.
Shadowheart: Please share that with the rest of us.
Wyll: Why don't you all head to the fire and celebrate our accomplishments? Heard Gale cooked quite the feast.
(You walked up to Wyll and leaned your head on his shoulder)
Y/N: What do you think will come of us?
Wyll: Whatever you desire, my love, whatever you desire.

Ooh could I please get a Bg3 Pairing? 👀
I'm a 21 year old autistic librarian and linguist with ADHD. My hobbies include gardening, taking care of my houseplants, learning languages, reading, and obsessively studying and infodumping about my interests. I have a very bubbly, friendly personality but I'm also really smart, mature and I give good advice. I love taking care of people and consider it to be my life's purpose, I just like being nice. As for my appearance, I'm super short, 4' 10" (147 cm) with long wavy auburn hair, glasses, pale skin with lots of moles and freckles, and a pretty tomboyish style of dress. I also really enjoy working out so I'm getting pretty muscular despite being the size of an Oompa Loompa lol. I have a really good sense of humor and can make quips very fast and easily. I enjoy learning new things and interacting with interesting people!
Thanks so much, have a fantastic day/night!
I'm thinking either Gale or Karlach! I can't decide which so I'm going to do a little bit for them both! Thank you so much for sending me a submission btw 🌿
Gale
You'd accidentally bump into Gale whilst at work - he'd be looking for an old text/scroll when he'd first notice you. I reckon he'd try be quite smooth, but end up making a terrible pun or 'dad-joke' and then internally curse himself about it later.
You'd often find yourselves alone together at the library (usually late into the night), where you'd be sorting through books and he'd be studying. You'd notice the wizard and try to catch his eye - and he'd always look up from the pages and give you a little wave.
Dates would often entail you both studying together, or discussing your special interests. You could always make Gale laugh with your quick wit - sometimes he'd try and joke back, but of course he'd fail miserably (not that you'd mind though).
He'd love to teach you things about the weave, and likewise, he always found your interests, especially plants. so endearing. As a gift, Gale would go away for a few days to hike across the mountains to bring you a rare flower or shrub.
Karlach
Karlach would find you so cute from the get go. She'd struggle to contain her excitement around you, often reaching to pick you up or squeeze your arm, but she always bit her tongue and kept herself in check. This would be of course until you found yourself laying around the campfire one night, and she accidentally blurt out how the stars above your heads reminded her of your freckles.
She'd completely understand your ADHD, and in fact, would always encourage you to be you - no masking allowed when Karlach's around! She'd love to go on runs, or work out with you. And despite you being very strong yourself, she'd always want to pick you up and pepper you with kisses.
Whilst spending time out on walks together, Karlach would beg you to teach her about something... She loved listen to you talk about your interests - though sometimes she wouldn't really listen, she just loved seeing you light up with excitement as you talked about your passions.

Titan Modern AU- Chapter One
Summary: Meredith gets to meet with one of the people in charge of her new post. A quick conversation about Fangthane culture is had before the discussion turns to other matters- namely where Constable Gruksdottir is going to be staying.
Words: 1,161
Tags: @druidx, @sparrow-orion-writes @warriorbookworm, @thesorcerersapprentice, @blind-the-winds, @philosophika, @the-down-upside-finch, @hippiewrites
Warnings: Some talk about fictional religions but otherwise only avoid if the idea of women with beards grosses you out.
Notes: I fully admit, I just wanted a justification for Merri to keep her beard because I literally cannot see her without one. It allowed me to do some worldbuilding though, which is always fun.
Meredith stood at firm attention with her arms behind her back. The only indication of what she was feeling being a slight quirk of an eyebrow when she caught the surprised stare of the Diplomatic Envoy she was being introduced to out of the corner of her eye.
Lieutenant Starhammer coughed politely, sitting down behind his desk and waving at his new constable,
“At ease, Gruksdottir. This is meant to be an informal chat. A chance fer us all to get to know each other.” he said. He beamed at the tall, slim woman, who was now settling down into the couch next to the fireplace, “Lady Frigidwake here is the Diplomatic Envoy to the Kingdom of Fangthane. She’s not quite the one in charge, but she does do a lot of work to keep things ticking along as smoothly as possible.” he explained. The Envoy laughed and smiled at both Fangthanians as Meredith relaxed her stance,
“Well, I try to.” she quipped. She gestured to the magpie sitting quietly on her shoulder, “This is Chrackle, he’s a companion of mine. I must ask that you try not to pay him too much attention as he’s supposed to be a working animal.” Meredith nodded, noting with amusement the slightly offended-sounding croak the bird made,
“I’ll bear that in mind, Ma’am.” she said. “I realise that you are, of course, versed in a great deal of Fangthanian culture, but I couldn’t help but notice your surprise as you walked in, Ma’am.” she noted. The other woman flushed a little in embarrassment,
“Ah, yes. I do apologise, that was insensitive. I’m afraid to say that I haven’t had much experience with the Throffite community. Very few Fangthanian women grow their beards out these days, so when I was informed that Lieutenant Starhammer was expecting a female constable, I made an assumption. Again, I apologise.” she said. Meredith shook her head, finally,
“No offence has been taken, Ma’am.” she stated, “You are quite correct, the majority of Fangthanian women shave, and I am very much an exception. Believe me, I am quite used to awkward stares and questions.” Lady Frigidwake pursed her lips and toyed with the end of a strand of greying auburn hair,
“That still does not excuse my conduct.” she retorted, “However, lessons have been learned and I shall not dwell on it any further.” she added, tickling her magpie under his beak as he nibbled at her ear.
Starhammer chuckled and leaned back in his seat, which creaked loudly,
“Well, now that we’re all acquainted, I think we can finally turn to business.” he said. He looked to Meredith first,
“I understand ye didn’t get a chance to work out someplace to stay while you’re here, given how quickly ye were kicked out the capital. I’d offer to put you up myself, but my youngest has had to move back home and has brought the weans, so there’s no room, I’m afraid.”
Meredith shook her head,
“You don’t need to go to that kind of trouble, sir.” she protested, “I’ll be happy enough to keep staying at the Crabbit Sow until I can find somewhere more permanent.”
Starhammer snorted,
“I’m no’ having ye waste all yer savings like that, lass.” he retorted. The Lieutenant turned to Lady Frigidwake,”D’ye ken of anyplace that’ll be willing to put her up? he asked. The envoy tapped a finger on her chin thoughtfully,
“I’d need to make a couple of calls, but yes, I think I might know some people.” she replied. She pushed her glasses back up her nose as she smiled at Meredith, “I’ll have somewhere for you to stay by the end of the day.” she chirped. This time it was Meredith’s turn to flush,
“Ye really don’t need to go to so much trouble –” Starhammer scoffed,
“Lassie! It’s no trouble. Ye’re a constable of the Stronghold Guardian Corps! Since we dinna have a barracks on site, that means ye’re entitled to have a place to live nearby.” he reminded her. “Moradin’s beard, ye’re an uptight one, aren’t ye? Auld Vanskleig’s right when he says that working here for a bit’ll be good for ye.” he added.
Meredith opened and closed her mouth a few times, trying to find some way to protest, but couldn’t find the words to refute what her new commanding officer had just said. After a moment, she huffed a sigh,
“Aye, sir.” she grumbled. Lady Frigidwake shook her head,
“I’ll go make those calls now, then. Lieutenant Starhammer, was there anything else we needed to discuss in the meantime?” she asked. Smoothing down her skirt as she stood. Starhammer thought for a moment, then shook his head,
“Nothing that can’t wait until next week, lass.” The old soldier stood, with a bit of effort, and bowed slightly to the envoy, “In the meantime, please give my regards to Father Shiverstaff, and remind him that he still owes me drinks.” he added with a smile. Lady Frigidwake laughed and inclined her head slightly
“I’ll pass the message on.” she said. She turned to Meredith, who had by now also stood and was standing at attention again, “It was a pleasure to meet you Constable Gruksdottir, I look forward to working with you.” she said. Meredith snapped off a salute,
“Aye, Ma’am.” she stated. Lady Frigidwake smiled, sent Lieutenant Starhammer a knowing look, then swept out of the office. Starhammer sighed as he turned to Meredith,
“I’ve got my work cut out, haven’t I?” he muttered. He picked up the top sheet from a stack of papers, “Well, seeing as ye’ve been sent back down to start from scratch, I might as well have ye on guard duty at the front door until I get word of what Command wants done with ye, or we figure out where yer strengths lie.” he said. Meredith nodded brusquely and saluted again,
“Aye, sir.” she stated. She sent him a quizzical look, “May I ask what time I can leave my post, sir?” she asked. The Lieutenant sighed,
“Well, the office closes for the day at five-thirty. Seeing as I’m pretty much the only other person here for now, you might as well clock off then.” he replied. Meredith nodded,
“Of course, sir. Thank you, sir.” she said. There were a few moments’ silence until Starhammer heaved a sigh,
“Ye’re free to leave and get to yer post, Constable.” he said wearily. “If there does happen to be any trouble out there, ye do have permission to get involved.” he added just as Meredith began marching out the door.
“Understood, sir.” Meredith called as she finally exited the room, leaving Starhammer to wonder just what he’d gotten himself into. He opened the folder he’d been sent from Sergeant Major Ragnarsson, reading through the various evaluation forms and report summaries. He stroked his moustache thoughtfully,
“Well now, I think I owe the Field Marshal quite the favour for this.” he murmured.

Eris felt like a prize, paraded to a house that'd never be her home. She was not an easy case, that's what they kept saying, that she'd be hard work to whomever they assigned her too, like some little pet. It made her want to scream. She'd been a resistance fighter before her settlement was raided, the government was trying to move in and push back on the resistance and she'd never have gone with them willingly. Stubborn, that's what they kept saying, that she was just a little bit stubborn. Try a lot, she'd already broken two guards arms and a leg. Earned herself a rather nasty couple of bruises from it too. It's why they had driven her and used the valuable resource that fuel was, safer to transport her than walk and even in the vehicle they'd kept her hands bound behind her back.
She was pulled from the vehicle and pushed forward, she didn't go easily, she actually tried to shove ehr shoulder into a guard and run but with the weight of how hard she shoved, that must have hurt her. See, feisty as she was, she was quite petite. Eris just happened to have a lot of fire about her. It matched the deep auburn of her hair. Soon enough she was presented before him, the man that'd own her, a reward to the well established. One of the guards at her side yanked her wrists to make her stand straight with her shoulders back. They'd at least bathed her, fed her, combed her hair as best they could... but for all they'd yank and pull, nothing would change the glare she gave.
"I won't do a single thing for you." she hissed, her jaw entirely tense and gritted. The government official laughed. "She'll be a tough one to break this one, she's given us a hard time so far. Think you're up to the challenge? If she wasn't fertile we'd have killed her, like we did most of her people." That got a reaction out of her, the way she tried to lunge, to kick her legs out at that official.. and it was the one thing that had tears spring to her eyes. She thought if she fought harder she might have been able to save them, she took that weight of guilt onto her own shoulders. "I'll kill you- I'll-" she seethed. It was abundantly clear Eris would've torn the official government worker limb from limb. "Hush dear, you're one of the lucky ones." Lucky. The word made her want to throw up. This was lucky. Regardless they spoke as though she wasn't in the room up until her owner was handed the key to her restraints and the guards retreated, leaving just him and her stood in a living room that looked far nicer than anything she was used to. There was no decay here. For a few moments she stood and glared at the man, her chest rising and falling with each deep breath until she finally spoke. "Undo the restraints." half a demand, half a dare.
#eris interactions#closed starter#you don't have to match length at all#i've a habit of getting lengthy!!
