Hi Mrs. Balls! Came from ao3 and noticed you quoted from one of my favourite books, The Unwomanly Face of War! Do you have any other recommendations of profound literature works or poems etc.? (Absolutely adore your writing, you’re a phenomenal writer! 💕)
MRS BALLS these are getting more and more creative 😭😭😭
And yes The Unwomanly Face of War is an outstanding and gutting read, am so glad you notes the quote — it was the epigraph to The Great Impossible. Alexievich’s prose is devastating — iirc I self translated most of the quote because I was too lazy to go find a proper English translation 😭
Always love chatting favourite reads — some I haven’t yet suggested on here before include:
Minor Detail, Adania Shibli. Cold Enough For Snow, Jessica Au. Lucky Breaks, Yevgenia Belorusets. Home Fire, Kamila Shamsie. Effi Briest, Theodor Fontane. The Joke, Milan Kundera. The Good Life Elsewhere, Vladimir Lorchenkov. Salt Houses, Hala Alyan. AntiChristie, Mithu Sanyal. Signs Preceding the End of the World, Yuri Hererra. At Dusk, Hwang Sok-yong. The Great Reclamation, Rachel Heng.
can you tell my background is in ‘world literature and cinema’ 💀
And thank you very very much for the compliment — hope you enjoy these, I adore them 😇
#asks#thank u v much especially bc im always so 🥲 about how that specific story is received bc it means a lot to me for several reasons but#If I remember correctly I got a bunch of flak for The Great Impossible because#a couple of people latched on to the ONE line in the story where maglor was like oh yeah elwing also had to make an impossible choice#and a choice being ‘wrong’ doesn’t mean that it wasn’t an impossible choice#and someone called Elwing ‘thingol with tits’ and wrote a whole ass essay LMAOOO#telling me i only wrote a line ‘supportive’ of her because she was a woman and#i wasnt even on tumblr then so i was SO CONFUSED bc i didnt know fandom discourse was even a thing kskskksjxk

I just had this big ah-ha moment where I realized I’m not actually indebted to Tyrell???
Yes she supported me while I awaited disability approval but I gave her & Thea $20,000 of my backpay to make up for that. On TOP of that, meaning not included in that 20k, I bought Tyrell a camper (5k), helped her buy a truck to pull the camper (she freaked out when I tried to change my mind about the truck- 4ishk), a refurbished but relatively new MacBook (she also got upset when I tried to change my mind about the MacBook), AirPods for both her and Thea, I bought Thea the most expensive version of the steamdeck.
I’m not indebted to her anymore. I live in her house for free, but I do help with pet care, and she’s always been terrified for me to leave so it’s not like she hasn’t wanted me here. She’s begged me to stay.
That’s enough, right? I’m not indebted to these people?
#and that’s just Tyrell and Thea#I have so much away I don’t remember a lot of it#I bought my gf a truck when hers broke#I donated the money I was supposed to use to pay off Wanda to Palestinian families#I sent between $100-550 back to the people who most regularly donated to me over the years#I drove around and picked up a few homeless people from around where I was homeless and got lists of what they needed and I bought them#tents and such#I did that several times#the reason I tried to change my mind about some things was bc I found out I was receiving $20k less than previously expected when plans wer#made.#Tyrell did hold what she did for me over my head about the truck#(at the time I was under the impression I wasn’t allowed to keep the money which is why I got rid of it)#(I thought you couldn’t have more than 2k saved on ssdi but I was wrong that’s ssi#found out too late)#I didnt want to keep all the money for myself bc so many people used their money to help me survive#I just wanted to make other peoples lives easier#I could have bought MYSELF a camper; I could have bought land; I could have made my dreams come true#I chose others. I am NOT selfish.#(I’m posting this for me bc it’s rly easy for others to influence me to believe I’m selfish)#Oh AND I spent THOUSANDS of dollars in vet care on all 3 of our dogs

ok u ever watch smth where someone is talking & they just randomly get super religious and ur like ummmmmm ok. when i was watching that reality show the other day there was nothing godly going on in that yk? and then this woman is like “my priorities are god then my kids then my man” and i’m like GOD? when did god get in it…..this happens so often like ppl are just randomly like yes i worship god i love jesus etc. and it’s like oh i thought you were normal :/ ok…….
#michelle speaks#and i can say all that as someone who went to catholic school for 10 yrs. i earned it.#this happens w my mom too when i was like i’m suffering worse than jesus rn to her and she looked at me like 😦#i’m like oh yeah i forgot u grew up across the street from a church and didnt stop believing in god bc of ur fuck ass husband#genuinelyyyyy idk how my mom can be catholic after that one time i was like and what has god done for u though? can’t remember what she#said but she was saying she couldn’t do smth and wasn’t just like i still couldn’t do it#wish i could remember……but anyway. sorry if i think it is cringe to still believe in god when for me god is the equivalent of writing a#secret letter to santa & then u don’t get the present bc ur parents didn’t know u wanted it & ur like oh santa isn’t real#except god never made my dad spontaneously combust despite the fact i started praying for my dad to disappear in kindergarten 😑#so excuse me if i think it is all quite silly. if god is real he should ask for MY forgiveness not the other way around 😑😑😑😑

the library was unusually quiet for a weekday evening, except for the steady murmur of conversation from a nearby study group and the occasional clatter of dice on a game board. karina sat next to you, one leg crossed over the other, staring down at a confusing mess of cards, pieces, and rules she didn’t understand.
it was one of your nerd friends who made the game—mason was his name. you explained how he’d spent months perfecting it and would proudly be the narrator for your group's first playthrough. karina didn’t care about the game. she barely knew what was going on. but you were there, and that made it okay.
she wasn’t even sure how to play or what she was supposed to do. you had tried your best to explain, but mason had been explaining the rules to the other players the entire time, and karina could barely focus. your friends were mostly the same as always. all a bunch of nerds that you were close to during high school and stayed in touch with through college.
and then you introduced her to your friends; they were a bit shocked when the president of the biggest sorority on campus said she wanted to hang out. but mason quickly welcomed her with open arms.
karina looked down at the game board, trying to understand the confusing mass of colors and shapes. a large blue square seemed to represent a lake, a path snaked through a forest of green, and there were lots of small tokens and miniatures scattered across the map. the rules were long and complicated. she hadn't understood a single one.
you took a deep breath and set down a card in front of karina.
"the evil king has captured the prince's lover!" mason announced. "it is now up to you, the player, to save her. but you have been locked in the king's dungeon. what do you do?"
"i…" karina hesitated, trying to remember the few things you had told her about the game. she could either go to the prince or to his lover. but she didn't know which one to pick. her eyes met yours.
"go to the prince," you said quietly.
"no, go to the lover," mason replied. "the prince is a jerk anyway."
karina sighed, feeling completely lost. she didn’t understand the dynamics of the game—why the prince was a jerk, why the lover needed rescuing, or what the king even wanted. she was just following your advice, since you were the one who had actually learned the rules.
“the prince,” karina decided reluctantly, even though mason rolled his eyes dramatically. she picked up a miniature knight figure and moved it in the general direction of the game board’s castle.
“bad move,” mason said with a grin. “you fell into a trap. you’re dead.”
karina glared at him so sharply he actually flinched. “seriously?”
“you suck at this game,” mason teased, but then quickly backed off when he caught her stare again.
the conversation around the table resumed, with mason narrating another turn, but karina had already tuned it out. she reached over and gently brushed her fingers along the nape of your neck. it was a small touch, but one that grounded her.
for the past three weeks, this had become her life. waiting outside your lectures just to see you. tagging along to the conventions she didn’t understand or care about. sitting through endless, painfully boring games and conversations, all just to be near you. she had hoped that by doing all this, things would go back to how they were before—when the two of you couldn’t keep your hands off each other, and all you wanted to do was stay in bed together.
but it hadn’t happened. you seemed content with how things were—maybe too content. you hadn’t even kissed her since your talk in her dorm three weeks ago. instead, it was karina who couldn’t stop herself from reaching for you. every time she did, she hoped you’d do the same. but you never did.
she was losing her mind.
“hey,” she leaned down to whisper in your ear, lips brushing the shell of it. “wanna leave? go do something else—just us?”
you didn’t pull away, but you didn’t look up either. “in a bit,” you murmured, eyes glued to the game. “i’m almost at the next level.”
karina clenched her jaw. mason smirked. she shot him another glare.
later that night, karina took you out—just the two of you. dinner at a small ramen place you both used to frequent, followed by a long walk along the river. it had been…nice. easy, even. but karina had hoped for more. every time your shoulder bumped hers, her heart jumped. every time your hand swung a little too close to hers, she wanted to reach out. but you didn’t.
when the night ended, she brought you back to her dorm. it was late, and when you set your bag down by her bed, her stomach fluttered. overnight bag, she thought. you’re staying the night.
her anticipation skyrocketed as you unzipped the bag—until you pulled out an old, beat-up console and started untangling the cords. karina blinked. you knelt by the tv, plugging the console in like it was the most normal thing in the world. then you paused, your expression nervous.
“am i allowed to do this?” you asked, hesitant.
karina quickly nodded, but she wanted to scream. allowed? was this a sleepover or something?
you started setting up the game, and karina flopped down on the bed, burying her face in the pillows. she didn't know how long you were going to keep this up. three weeks had felt like a lifetime. and she had thought…no, she was sure—she had made up for her mistakes. she was doing everything right now, and yet it still wasn't enough.
the game loaded, the familiar old-school theme music playing softly through the speakers. you adjusted the controller in your hands, fully immersed. karina slowly pulled herself up from the pillows, moving to the edge of the bed where you sat cross-legged on the floor in front of the tv.
what was she supposed to do? she had done it all—played the role of prince—princess— charming, and still you were slipping through her fingers like a story without a happy ending.
karina leaned forward, her fingers brushing against your hair before gently weaving through it. her touch was slow and careful, as if trying not to break whatever fragile peace had settled between you. she played with the strands absently, twirling them between her fingers, her mind half on you and half lost in thought.
your hair was soft. it smelled good. but you didn’t respond.
then, she tugged lightly, her fingertips massaging your scalp. this was a thing she did. something you loved.
but you didn’t lean back into her touch like usual. your shoulders were stiff. you didn't look at her. you didn't even seem to notice.
you kept playing.
karina felt a surge of frustration. she tugged harder, her movements no longer gentle. you grunted, your hands faltering on the controller.
"ouch, karina. what was that for?"
karina’s jaw clenched, her fingers freezing in your hair. “what was that for?” she repeated, her tone sharper than she intended. “i don’t know, maybe because i’ve been following you around like a lost puppy for weeks and you barely even notice me.”
you paused the game, setting the controller down on the floor. “i notice you,” you said quietly, not meeting her eyes.
karina moved to sit on the edge of the bed, her legs brushing against your back. “no, you don’t. not really. i show up to your lectures. i sit through hours of your nerd conventions. i come to these stupid board game nights and watch you get all excited. and yet…” she trailed off, pressing her hands to her thighs, digging her nails into the fabric. "nothing."
you sighed, running a hand through your hair where she had tugged too hard. “i'm just listening to what mason has been telling me. i don't want to overwhelm you."
her brows knitted together. mason…who was—oh. that fucking mason. karina blinked down at you, processing what you’d just said. “wait—what? what has mason been telling you?"
you sighed and shifted on the floor, still not looking at her. “mason’s been playing therapist through all of this. he told me that if we’re not a couple, we shouldn’t be doing… couple things.”
karina’s brow furrowed. “couple things?”
“yeah,” you said with a shrug. “like kissing…and you know…he says that we shouldn’t move too fast if we're not girlfriends."
"excuse me?"
mason had no business getting in the middle of her and you. and besides, what did he know about what she could handle?
her brain seemed to short-circuit. “but… you are my girlfriend.”
you finally looked at her, one brow raised. “you never asked me that.”
karina froze. her mouth opened, then shut, and for the first time all night, she was at a loss for words.
the silence stretched until karina blurted out, “do you want to be my girlfriend?”
you blinked at her. “no.”
“what?” karina’s voice pitched slightly higher. “what do you mean, no?”
“that’s not how you ask someone,” you said, shaking your head. “that sounded like you were asking me if i wanted to go run errands.”
karina stared at you, stunned. was that a joke? you had to be joking. but there was no hint of amusement in your expression.
"you want me to ask you out? okay." karina cleared her throat. she was not used to being put on the spot like this. especially not with you. this was usually the other way around.
"y/n," karina started again, her nerves bubbling under her usual confidence. "i’m serious about you. i want to be more than this… whatever this is. i want us to be together—officially. so, will you be my girlfriend?"
you leaned back slightly, arms crossed. “karina, you’re asking me in your room. that’s not how you ask someone.”
karina blinked, thrown. “what do you mean?”
“it has to be… something grand. special. not just sitting on the edge of a bed with a game paused in the background. otherwise, it won’t feel like it means much.”
karina’s shoulders slumped for a second before she straightened, her hands curling into fists. there was no way in hell she was going to let herself fail at this. if that's what you wanted, then fine. karina would make this the most special, romantic thing ever. “fine. you want grand? i’ll give you grand.”
the next weekend, karina didn’t just take you somewhere—she took you everywhere.
she planned an entire day out: a visit to a scenic lookout, a boat ride across the river, a stop at your favorite dessert café, and finally, she led you to a secluded spot on a hill overlooking the city. you walked beside her, hand in hand, admiring the view. the sun had started to set, casting the sky in shades of red and orange. it was beautiful. the kind of view you could only see if you were high above the city. you leaned against the railing, watching the sun dip lower behind the buildings below.
karina stood beside you, her gaze lingering on the side of your face. you didn’t notice. or, if you did, you didn't comment. she reached for your hand again, lacing her fingers with yours. when you didn’t react, her chest tightened. she had a plan. a script. everything she was going to say, and yet now, standing beside you, looking at the sunset, her tongue was tied.
"this is beautiful," you said, your eyes sparkling as the last rays of the sun lit up the horizon.
"it is," karina murmured. she could have said a lot of things. that's why i brought you here. this is what we could have. but she didn't. her heart was in her throat, her palms sweating.
karina turned toward you, the words on the tip of her tongue. "y/n…"
"yeah?"
"i…i need to tell you something."
you met her gaze, tilting your head. your expression softened. "what is it?"
"i want this to be perfect. i want you to remember this moment because i’m serious about us.”
you opened your mouth to respond, but she pressed on.
“i’m not just following you around because i have nothing better to do. i’m here because i care about you. and i want to be your girlfriend. officially. so… will you be mine?”
a smile spread across your lips, and her heart stopped. you nodded slowly, reaching up to tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear. "of course i'll be yours, karina."
the words had barely left your mouth before karina practically pounced on you, pulling you into a kiss. her hands were in your hair again, her lips pressing against yours with an urgency that left you breathless. when she pulled away, her eyes were shining.
when she pulled back, her eyes sparkled. “so… you want to stay the night?”
you couldn’t help but laugh. “karina, it’s our first date as a couple.”
“okay? what does that have to do with anything?”
you gave her a teasing smile, leaning back slightly as you clarified, “it’s the first date as a couple, karina. you know the rules. third base only happens on the third date.”
karina blinked at you, her mouth slightly open as if to argue, but no words came out. instead, she let out a dramatic groan and fell back onto the grass, throwing her arm over her face. “seriously, y/n? third base rule? who even made that up?”
you smirked, stepping back to avoid her exaggerated flailing. “i don’t make the rules; i just follow them.”
she groaned again. "you're so annoying."
"says the girl who just asked me out with a video game paused in the background."
her groan turned into a whine.
by the time the third date rolled around, karina was determined to speed-run the process. she planned another full day of activities—brunch, a visit to an art exhibit, and a movie. afterward, she walked you back to your dorm. you felt lighter than you had in weeks, finally enjoying the ease of being with her.
as you both stood outside your dorm, karina hesitated, shifting on her feet. “so…” she started, hands fidgeting. “since this is technically the third date, maybe you could—”
you raised a brow, waiting.
“—you know, come back to my place?” she finished, giving you a hopeful smile.
you thought for a moment, lips pressed together. “mmm… i think i’m just going to sleep here tonight. my roommate’s gone for the first time in forever, and i kind of want to enjoy having the place to myself.”
karina groaned softly. “y/n… please? it feels like it's been forever since we've done anything together."
your cheeks flushed. "karina, i—"
"we don't have to do anything," she said quickly, cutting you off. "we can just watch a movie and cuddle. i won't even try to seduce you."
"karina," you warned.
"okay, okay. maybe a little. but only if you want me to!"
you laughed, shaking your head at her antics. “you’re impossible, you know that?”
karina gave you a playful pout, stepping closer. “come on, please? just a little more time together. i miss you.”
you sighed. how could you resist when she was being so sweet?
"alright, alright," you relented, giving her a smile. "i guess we could spend a little more time together."
karina let out a soft squeal, throwing her arms around you. "you're the best!"
that night, the two of you stayed up watching a movie, curled up on your small twin bed. karina's head rested on your chest, her hand stroking the skin just below the hem of your shirt. you were barely paying attention to the screen.
after a few minutes, karina lifted her head to look at you. "are you enjoying the movie?"
"not really," you admitted.
she shifted, propping herself up on her elbow. "do you want to do something else?"
you hummed, eyes meeting hers. "like what?"
karina's gaze dropped to your lips. "we could make out a little."
you rolled your eyes, smiling. "how subtle."
"is that a yes?"
"maybe," you replied, unable to keep the laughter out of your voice. "if you play your cards right."
"you're killing me here, puppy."
you shook your head. "come here."
she leaned forward, pressing her lips to yours. her kiss was gentle and warm, and her tongue flicked out to swipe against your bottom lip. you sighed, deepening the kiss. she tasted sweet, and the familiar scent of her perfume filled your senses. the rest of the movie was long forgotten as karina kissed you hungrily. her hands wandered under your shirt, tracing patterns on your skin. you pulled her closer, tangling your fingers in her hair.
when you finally broke apart, karina was flushed and breathing heavily.
"that was…"
"nice," she finished, her lips curving into a satisfied smile.
"yeah." you smiled back, resting your forehead against hers. "nice."
the next week, karina found herself in a similar position—only this time, the two of you were in your car, parked in a dark, quiet parking lot. the day had been perfect: a long walk through the park, endless conversation, and laughter that made your stomach hurt.
now, her lips were locked with yours as she leaned over the middle console, one hand cupping your face while the other gripped the back of your neck. your hands found her waist, pulling her in as much as the cramped space would allow. karina’s fingers skimmed along your jaw, her lips trailing down to your neck.
"y/n," she moaned, her lips trailing along your jaw.
"mmm," you hummed, arching into her touch.
"i love you," she murmured, her hands slipping under your shirt.
you froze. "w-what?"
"i love you."
you pulled back slightly, eyes wide as you processed her words. your heart thudded against your chest. “w-what?” you repeated, not quite sure if you’d heard her right. she leaned in closer, "i love you, y/n. i’ve loved you for a while now. i couldn’t keep it in anymore.”
she paused, studying your expression. "is that bad?"
you quickly shook your head, but the shock hadn't fully faded from your face. "no, it's just…i love you too, karina—"
"then it's settled," she interrupted, leaning forward to kiss you again. her touches were firm and confident, and you could feel yourself getting swept away by the intensity of her feelings. karina had always been one to go after what she wanted, and it seemed like now was no different. she wanted you, and she was determined to show you exactly how much.
karina let out a soft gasp as you pulled her into your lap, her thighs straddling your hips. she settled easily against you, the fabric of her shirt slipping up and baring a sliver of her hip. you traced your fingertips along the exposed skin, goosebumps erupting in their wake.
"y/n," karina breathed, her hands cupping your face as she leaned down to capture your lips once more. you sighed into the kiss, your hands gripping her hips as you pulled her closer. karina's body felt hot against yours, and the air in the car seemed to grow thicker as the moments passed.
your hands slipped under her shirt, and the bare skin of her back felt smooth beneath your touch. karina shuddered at the contact, her fingers tangling in your hair as she pressed closer.
"i want you," she whispered, her lips ghosting along the shell of your ear.
"karina," you murmured, your hands trailing along her back.
"i've missed you," she continued, her lips skimming along your neck. "i've missed this. i've missed us."
your hands tightened on her hips, pulling her flush against you. "me too," you murmured, nipping at her jaw.
she pulled back slightly, her gaze locking with yours. her eyes were dark, and her lips were swollen from your kisses. she looked breathtaking.
your hands slipped back under her shirt, your hands grazing every inch of her back, her sides, and her stomach. she shivered, her eyes closing. you couldn't help but smile. she was so responsive to your touch, and it made your heart swell with pride.
a part of you remembered you were in the middle of a parking lot where anyone could see you, but another part of you didn’t care. not when karina was looking at you like that. the car windows were tinted, and it was late enough that there were few people around anyway. and besides, you were beyond the point of rationality.
denying yourself of karina for the past three weeks had been torture. you had missed her more than you realized. and now, being with her again—feeling her warmth, her touch, her kisses—was overwhelming. you wanted more. she couldn't seem to get enough of you as well, her hands skimming across your skin, as if to commit the feel of it to memory. your bodies seemed to fit together perfectly, your curves molding to hers as she pressed closer.
karina's lips found your neck, nipping and sucking at the tender skin there. her teeth grazed your pulse point, and you swore you could feel your heartbeat everywhere, like it was thrumming through your entire body. she was driving you wild, and you could feel your control slowly slipping away.
you leaned in and captured her lips once more, kissing her with all the passion and desire that had been building up inside you over the past few weeks. karina moaned against your lips, her fingers tangling in your hair as she pulled you closer. she tasted like the cherry lip balm she always used, and you couldn't get enough of it.
your hands slid up her back, pushing her shirt up until it bunched around her shoulders. you pulled away just long enough to tug it over her head, tossing it into the back seat. then, you were on her again, your lips finding hers in a heated kiss.
karina's skin felt hot against yours as your hands roamed her body, exploring every curve and dip. you trailed kisses along her collarbone, down her chest, and across her stomach. she arched into your touch, her head falling back as she let out a low groan. your hands skimmed along her thighs, the fabric of her pants suddenly feeling much too restrictive.
you tugged at the waistband, looking up at her for permission. karina's eyes met yours, pupils blown wide with desire. she nodded, her hands tangling in your hair. “just hurry up and take them off,” she groaned.
you slowly pulled her pants down, your fingers skimming along her skin as you went. she shivered under your touch, her eyes fluttering shut. you discarded her pants and took a moment to admire the view. she looked stunning, her chest heaving, her cheeks flushed, her hair mussed.
you could barely believe she was yours.
her hands fiddled with the string on your sweatpants before she finally slipped them off your hips. the feeling of her bare skin against yours made you both gasp. it felt like electricity was running through your veins, and every nerve ending seemed to be on fire. karina's fingers tugged at the waistband of your boxers, and you lifted your hips, allowing her to remove them.
karina couldn't even begin to explain how badly she needed you. every fiber of her being seemed to hum with desire, her body aching for your touch. she had been so patient, waiting for you to give her some kind of sign that you wanted this as badly as she did. but now, with your hands gripping her hips as if you were afraid she might disappear, she knew she didn't need to wait anymore.
then, slowly, gently, she lowered herself onto you. the two of you gasped in unison, the sensation sending sparks shooting through your bodies.
"fuck," she breathed, her voice shaky. "that's— fuck, you're— oh, my god."
you clutched at each other as if you were trying to meld into one being, your lips finding hers in a searing kiss. karina began to move against you, slowly at first, then picking up the pace.
karina's rhythm was tortuously slow, like she was trying to make this moment last as long as possible. but you were past the point of patience, and you found yourself bucking up against her, desperate for more friction.
"please," you whined, and she obliged, increasing the tempo.
karina let out a low moan, her hands gripping your shoulders tightly. "i love you," you whispered, throwing your head to the side, biting your lip to keep from screaming out as your pleasure intensified.
"y/n," karina breathed, her hand wrapping around your neck as she pressed messy kisses to your face. "i love you too."
a slap echoed through the car, followed by a small giggle that shortly turned into a moan. karina bit her lip, stifling another laugh as your head snapped over to her.
"did you just slap me?"
karina nodded, still smiling. "i want you to look at me, puppy. i've missed those pretty eyes."
you tried to say something, but the words were lodged in your throat; all you could manage was a strangled moan.
you tried to say something, but the words were lodged in your throat; all you could manage was a strangled moan. karina's fingers trailed along your neck, tracing the line of your collarbone.
"c’mon…look at me, puppy."
your eyes met hers. they were dark and hooded, the pupils dilated with desire. you couldn't look away, not even if you wanted to.
your name fell from her lips in a desperate plea, and you couldn't help but smile. you knew you wouldn't last long—not with the way karina was moving against you, her hips grinding down, her hands gripping the back of your neck. the sound of her voice, the sight of her body, and the feel of her skin against yours—it was all too much.
karina's movements became more erratic, her breaths coming in short gasps. she buried her face in your neck as she reached her peak, her whole body trembling with the force of her orgasm. "y/n," she cried out, her voice muffled by the crook of your neck.
your own climax followed soon after, the two of you clinging to each other as wave after wave of pleasure washed over you. you held each other tightly, neither wanting to let go, the air in the car thick with the smell of sex. you didn't know how long the two of you sat there, basking in the afterglow, but eventually, karina's voice broke the silence.
"i love you," she murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to your temple.
you smiled, the words falling easily from your lips. "i love you too, karina."

Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off
word count: 1.9k author's note: i had the idea for this one literally AS i was writing the last one im annoyed i didnt write it right after bc i know i had GREAT ideas that i literally cannot remember anymore sigh ✦ . AU Masterlist . ✦ ✦ . Masterlist . ✦
The venue hums with the kind of energy you’d expect for a band as big as Wings of Illyria, the low chatter and country rock playing in the background almost drowned out by the buzz around the meet-and-greet booth.
Cassian, the life of the party you always imagined him to be, is already surrounded by fans, effortlessly drawing people in with that easy grin of his. But security is quick to move in, ushering people away with practiced calm, the crowd reluctantly shifting to make room for the band’s massive presence. Rhysand sits beside him, polished and smooth as ever, his gaze flicking between the crowd and the band’s merch, playing the role of the charming frontman like he was born for it. But Azriel—Azriel looks like he’d rather be anywhere else.
You spot him leaning back in his chair, a half-smirk barely visible beneath the dark fringe of his hair, eyes scanning the room with a look that says he’s mentally checked out. The cigarette tucked behind his ear, defying the “No Smoking” sign above the booth, is the least surprising thing about him.
You can’t help but notice how effortlessly Azriel leans into the atmosphere, the way his posture seems to say he’s both above it all and fully in control of the space around him. The black leather jacket slung over his chair, the way his fingers casually thrum against the table, it’s all effortlessly cool. But before you can linger on him too long, a voice cuts through the room, sharp and high-pitched enough to make your teeth ache.
The girl in front of you is practically vibrating, her hands shaking as she clutches her phone to her chest like it’s a lifeline. “Oh my God, oh my God,” she whispers to her friend, barely able to hold it together. “What if I say something dumb? What if they laugh at me? What if Az doesn’t even look at me? I have to tell him how much I—”
It’s the way she says Az—not like she’s just a fan, but like she’s personally on a nickname basis with him—that makes your eye twitch. You don’t want to judge, but fuck, could people just enjoy things without this level of intensity? She’s decked out in enough Wings of Illyria merch to make you wonder if she owns anything that isn’t branded. Her denim jacket is practically a billboard for the band, from the patches to the pins to the shirts she’s stacked under it, all so bright and loud it’s almost cartoonish. She looks exactly like the kind of people you’ve seen mocked in those “fan stereotype” posts, and it grates on you more than it should.
You bite back a sigh, trying to ignore the discomfort gnawing at your nerves. It’s not her fault, right? People can like things however they want. But as you stand there, you can’t shake the tightness in your chest, the buzz of unease you’ve been carrying all day. You hadn’t gotten much sleep last night—too busy running through every possible scenario, obsessing over the idea that maybe, just maybe, you’d misinterpreted the song. What if it wasn’t about you at all? What if you’d been foolish to even think it was? You’d spent so much time convincing yourself this was the right thing to do, that you could handle whatever confrontation came with it. But now, with the weight of it all on your shoulders, doubts have started to creep in.
To each their own, you remind yourself, trying to shake the jittery feeling in your stomach.
The line inches forward, and you shuffle along with it, caught between your own nerves and the chaos around you. Every second stretches and the girl ahead of you is still whispering furiously to her friend about all the reasons this moment is life-changing for her. You try to tune it out, focusing instead on the distant hum of the music overhead, and the faint shuffle of feet, the air heavy with anticipation.
And then, it’s your turn.
Cassian is the first to notice you, his smile broad and infectious, like he’s genuinely thrilled to meet every single person who steps up to the booth. “Hey!” he greets warmly, his voice loud enough to carry over the din. “You excited for the show?”
“Yeah, definitely,” you reply, shifting your weight awkwardly from one foot to the other. “I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks.”
Cassian beams like you’ve just made his night. “That’s what I like to hear! First time seeing us live?”
You shake your head, a small smile tugging at your lips. “Second. Saw you guys in Orlando last year.”
“No shit?” he says, leaning forward slightly. “That was a great crowd. One of the best on that leg of the tour. You catch the whole set?”
“Most of it,” you admit. “I got stuck in traffic and missed the first couple of songs.”
Rhysand, who’s been quietly observing, chuckles at that. “Typical,” he says, his voice smooth and amused. “Traffic in that city is practically a right of passage.”
“Right?” you say, laughing despite yourself. “I swear I left two hours early and still barely made it in time for ‘Bloodlines.’”
Cassian gives you a mock sympathetic look. “Tragic. That’s one of my favorites to play live.”
“It’s a good one,” you say, your nerves easing just a little. You glance between the two of them, noting how Rhys’s sharp gaze is fixed on you like he can tell there’s another reason you’re here.
“So,” Rhys says, tilting his head slightly. “What’s your favorite track?”
How the hell—
“I mean, the whole album is great,” you say, “but ‘Sear My Skin’ has been on repeat lately.”
It’s a calculated choice, and you don’t miss the quirk of Azriel’s brow in your peripheral.
“Interesting pick,” Rhys says, his smirk widening. “That one’s been causing a bit of a stir lately.”
Cassian chuckles. “Yeah, Az really knocked it out of the park with that one.”
And there it is—the perfect segue. You glance past them, finally letting your gaze settle on Azriel, who’s been silent this whole time.
He’s leaned back in his chair, arms crossed over his chest, his expression unreadable as his dark eyes meet yours. For a second, the noise of the room seems to fade, and you realize your heart is pounding in your chest,
“Azriel,” you say, his name coming out steadier than you expected. “Can I ask you something?”
He quirks that brow again, the faintest hint of a smirk playing on his lips. “You just did.”
Cassian groans dramatically, dragging a hand down his face. “Come on, man. Don’t make it harder than it needs to be,” he mutters.
Azriel ignores him, his gaze still fixed on you. “What’s the question?”
You take a breath, forcing yourself to hold his stare. “The song—’Sear My Skin.’ Is it about me?”
Rhysand doesn’t bother hiding his laughter, leaning back in his chair like he’s settling in for a show. Cassian’s drink nearly slips out of his hand, and he mutters something under his breath that sounds suspiciously like, Oh, shit.
Azriel doesn’t react immediately. He just stares at you, his expression unreadable, until the silence stretches so thin you think it might snap.
“Who are you?” he asks finally, his tone maddeningly calm.
You blink, thrown off by the audacity of the question. “You seriously don’t remember me?”
He leans back, shrugging one shoulder. “I don’t remember half the women I sleep with.” Cassian chokes on his drink, Rhysand’s grin stretching wide enough to show teeth, but you’re not about to let Azriel off that easily.
“Pressed against the door, your lips trace the ache?” You quote the line pointedly, crossing your arms as you glare at him. The memory rushes back—how he’d tasted on your tongue, how his hands had threaded through your hair before all hell broke loose. “Sound familiar?”
“It’s not that deep,” Azriel replies, his tone dismissive, though his gaze sharpens ever so slightly.
“Really?” you counter, your tone dripping with incredulity. “Right before I finish, your body’s all I feel, breathed in your ear ‘you feel too good to be real.’” Your voice rises, your chest tightening as the words leave your mouth. “You literally said that to me while you were balls deep in me against a wall.”
Azriel freezes, his lips parting slightly as a faint flicker of surprise breaks through his carefully guarded expression. For a split second, it’s almost satisfying.
Cassian’s reaction is anything but subtle. His chair scrapes loudly against the floor as he doubles over in laughter, nearly spilling his drink again. He gasps, pounding the table. “Yo, what the fuck?!”
Rhysand isn’t fairing much better, his laughter barely contained as he leans forward, resting his elbows on the table, his amusement still sharp but with a more controlled edge than Cassian’s, to his credit.
Azriel’s jaw tightens, and he finally breaks eye contact, glancing down at the table. “Okay,” he mutters, the word barely audible over the laughter. “Maybe it’s a little about you.”
Cassian claps a hand over his mouth, trying and failing to muffle another loud “Yo!” Rhysand smirks, watching the two of you closely.
But you shake your head, not about to let him off with just that. “A little? Really? You practically narrated the whole thing—I deserve royalties.”
Azriel raises an eyebrow, clearly not expecting that response. “Royalties?” he repeats, half-laughing, but still avoiding eye contact.
Before he can properly respond, a security guard steps forward, tilting their head toward the door, a silent gesture that your time is up.
You roll your eyes but shoot Azriel a teasing smile. “Guess I’m out of time for royalties. But I’ll be expecting them in the mail.”
As the security guard ushers you forward, Rhysand speaks up. “Well, nice to meet you, Sear My Skin,” he says, voice dripping with humor.
You grin back at him, a little cheeky. “My name—”
“It’s (y/n),” Azriel interrupts, dragging a hand over his face as he speaks, his tone casual but something darker in his gaze that would’ve stopped you in your tracks if not for the man guiding you away.
You blink at him, and can’t help the smile blooming on your face. He remembered you. Really remembered you.
Just as you’re about to take another step toward the exit, Cassian shouts from behind you, “Wait, wait, wait!” His voice is a mix of urgency and excitement.
You turn around, confused, as Cassian's already talking to someone behind the merch table. The team member nods, already moving to grab something and hand it over to you. Cassian looks at you with that mischievous grin you’re so used to seeing on video. “We’ll set you up for the show. Don’t leave without saying hi to us again, yeah?”
You look at the woman heading your way and take the slip she hands you, your heart stopping when you read the words Backstage Pass. You’re not sure what’s happening, but the thrill of it courses through you. “Uh—Yeah, thank you?”
“Anytime, princess,” Cassian says with a wink, leaning back in his chair as he makes a show of lounging.
You glance at Azriel one last time before being nudged along by the guard. He looks back at you for a moment, unreadable as ever, but there’s something in his eyes. But he says nothing, and it’s enough to make your chest tighten, a mix of anticipation and confusion bubbling in your stomach.

Sometimes you think that the loneliness might kill you.
You weren’t always like this. You remember being a sociable, joyful child; half-broken bikes and teddy bears and booster seats. You remember pigtails and popsicle sticks and Power Rangers, and what came after that? Being a moody teenager, became being a moody adult. High school became college, and college became an office job that served to keep you alive, even if it didn’t feel like being alive. College wasn’t that bad, you remember, so at what point had you mistaken isolation for privilege? And at what point had you gone too far into that tunnel-hole to turn back?
You must’ve been cursed, you think, putting on your outfit for work in the deadly still apartment. Dust dares not move, dares not give you hope that you are not alone.
You must’ve been cursed, you think, coming into work to a string of half-hearted, mumbled greetings. Your office is off-white and black and gray and everyone inhabiting it is also off-white and black and gray, and their skin is faintly oily and sickly and their faces are dragging down as if the very earth was reclaiming them and you think that you fit in here better than anywhere else.
You must’ve been cursed, you think, when you spend your day writing emails and organizing documents of information into different formats to send to huge corporations. Sometimes you fantasize about the other end of the transaction. Maybe their office is warm and brown with an accent of blue, and maybe people put hands on each other's shoulders, when they tell one another they’ve done a good job.
Yes, there’s no other explanation, you think, and can’t even muster the energy to feel bad when you blame some old hag from your hometown. You think she must’ve conjured up the worst ingredients, something cartoonishly evil, and a spell befell you, sunk into the crevices of your skin and dug into your pores.
You lie on your couch with a glass of wine and the television going, but you’re not really listening. You don’t think anyone has touched you in six months. You’re not even sure you’re real anymore. You swear, you could live with no one hearing you out, because you’re not sure you’d have anything worthwhile to say, but you just needed someone to touch you. To reach out a hand and confirm, you’re real, you’re right underneath my fingertips, and I’m squeezing your shoulder, and I see you, and I feel you right here.
Sometimes you think that the loneliness might kill you.
Lying physically very still, you still feel like you’re scrambling, fighting the clutch of the curse, and tugging on metal chains. Maybe that’s where all your energy goes.
What do normal people do when they feel this bad?
Sometimes you leave open the window, and when the wind tugs at your door, you pretend it’s someone that came for you.
Tug, tug, tug. The door rattles against its hinges when the fatally empty sky brings to you, in outstretched palms, the wind interlaced with glimmers of hope.
There’s never anyone at the door. _____________________________
This particular day starts like any other. You wake to your alarm and you put on clothes and you get ready and brush your teeth. Then you trample down to the bus stop. The sky is smothered by a duvet of heavy rain clouds. The rain hasn't come yet, but you know it will. Your fingers become stiff and hard, where they adhere to the polyester strap of your bag, massaging it. The bag is cold and dead.
The bus ride is by far the greatest part of your day. It’s quiet - early enough that you’re only accompanied by a few other souls. You rest your head on the window, vibrating gently against the curve of your forehead, and watch the people in the street.
The bus hums a gentle tune and snakes down the streets. Then you’re there, and whatever solace that it offers you under artificial light and mediocre, felted seats is gone.
Your office building is maybe the most depressing place on earth. It’s no glamorous feat of architecture. It is but a large, orange-y, puke-y, brick square, and the building is shared between yours and the Forester company. You don’t talk to the Foresters, but you know they eat cream cheese bagels on their breaks and throw birthday parties and once you saw the branch manager squeezing a salesman’s shoulder and telling him he had done a good job. His fingers squeezed down and the movement of the fabric revealed a shoulder pad built into the suit. You remember thinking it was a shame that it blocked the real touch.
Today, you walk up the stairs with heavy steps and you idle into the office building, eyes cast down to the dirty, gray carpet. You begin the long trek into the back of the building where your desk is located.
“Morning, Y/n,” mumbles Tina.
“Morning, Tina,” you mumble back.
“Morning, Y/n,” mumbles Gerard.
“Morning, Gerard,” you mumble back.
“Morning.”
“M-”
Wait a minute.
Your greeting falls short. You don’t recognize that voice. Stopping in your tracks, your shoes scratch on the rough carpet, and lift your head to see him.
The first thing you notice is that he’s the most gorgeous man you’ve ever seen. He looks like he jumped out of an underwear commercial; he’s all strong jawline, sharp eyes, round glasses on his pretty nose, neatly trimmed, short dark hair stretching down the planes of his face. He’s wearing a button up (usually you wouldn’t even register the clothing your coworkers adorned, but something about how he wore it was noteworthy), a tie draping over the dress shirt, and formal slacks hugging his thighs.
He smiles at you sheepishly, hands nervously smoothing down his thighs.
“I’m Wonwoo” he says curtly, nodding to you. “Just transferred from the Wallingset branch.”
You nod. “Right. Wallingset,” you nod more. “Nice to meet you. I’m Y/n.”
“Nice to meet you too, Y/n.”
Something about your name on his lips makes your heart flutter. It’s pathetic, you know, but his peregrine being in his office chair, spilling your name from his pink lips makes you feel a little more real. You look at him and then you nod again-again, kicking your legs into gear again and walking the last stretch to your desk.
You can see the back of his head from your orange-wood desk. Papers and sticky notes are scattered among the desktop. The monitor watches you accusingly, all big and square and black, waiting for you to open it up and begin working. Your eyes linger on him for a moment. Then you work.
A few hours pass on emails and translating information from a company into a comprehensive sheet. However, today you’re having a hard time focusing on work.
This is not new.
Sometimes you briefly talk to a man at the grocery store, and your mind will wander to him for next week, wondering if he’s thinking about you too, imagining yourself cuddling with him, watching movies, imagining him telling you it’ll all be okay. Sometimes you briefly talk to a man on the street, sometimes it’s even a date, but whatever the case you obsess and you dream and you always end up alone.
Today the victim of your depraved mind is Wonwoo. The guilt is easy to push away. You feel sorry for yourself. You think you deserve this. You think you can’t survive without this. And so you imagine him hugging you, stroking your hair, and you imagine him falling in love with you, and you imagine not being alone. Your fingers rest on your keyboard. It’s old and mechanical. You think it’s from a yard sale, probably an old woman whose children moved away. It’s plastic, and it curves inwards underneath the pads of your fingertips. The keys are cold and dead.
You fully zone out, eyes blearing into the back of his head, but you don’t really see it, your mind has traveled elsewhere. You guiltily imagine his hand between your legs, on your chest, straddling him, kissing him. And it’s not rough, it’s loving, because in this world he loves you, and he’d do anything for you, and you don’t have to be alone again.
You don’t love Wonwoo. It’s not some magical love at first sight, it’s not a romance book, it’s real life. You’re lonely. You need this to survive.
“Hey, Y/n?”
You snap your head up. Maybe you were still daydreaming. But you recognized the voice well and true, and it was Wonwoo, leaned over your desk, hands in his pockets.
“Oh, uhm, hey-” your voice is shaky and you quickly rush to compose yourself, hands moving frantically and uselessly to glide papers over one another and, then, realizing that there was no point to your movements, stilling and looking up at him, cheeks flushed. “Hey.”
Wonwoo smiles gently. “Uh, you know, I was wondering,” he looks around the office, as if surveying the area. “If you knew where to get a good lunch? I don’t know this area at all, so..”
He trails off, looking at you expectantly for an answer. Now that he’s standing before you, it’s much harder to ignore the guilt you feel. You wanna gnaw at your nails until they’re nubs, you want to crawl under your desk and cover your eyes. Does he see how red your cheeks are?
“Uhm- well- I don’t- I eat a packed lunch, so I’m-”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, I’m, uh, no expert,” you giggle awkwardly and watch his gentle smile drop into pursed lips. “But! Uh- I hear the- the hot dog stand, uh, just a little down the street is good!”
“Really? Maybe I should try it,” he contemplates, smile returning to his lips. “Would you mind showing me this mysterious hot dog stand?”
“Uh-”
Just seconds before you were thinking of his fingers in your pussy, and his hands caressing you, and him making you feel loved. He’s standing before you and he’s a totally normal guy, and you feel like shit. You feel like shit for using this fake image of him to comfort yourself. You can’t be around him, can’t convince yourself that maybe this’ll turn into something more - not when you always end up alone. Your brows furrow in determination.
“Actually, I have to, uh, get this done, so-” you gesture vaguely to your monitor.
“Right! Yeah,” Wonwoo seems embarrassed, biting his lips and nodding. “It’s, uh, just down the street?”
“Yeah, to the right when you walk out the building.”
“For sure. Thanks,” he doesn’t even look at you then, just waves you off half-heartedly and starts trailing down the office. His shoulders are incredibly broad and his belt wraps tightly around his small waist.
You feel like shit. _____________________________
Why is no one else cursed?
You look out of the window, lying on your bed after work. Everything is very still and unmoving - your whole apartment feels like it’s knotted in strings, tightened until everything is snapped into place, and if you move the wrong muscles, the invisible hands will let go and everything will fly and hurdle through your home, and you can almost hear the sound, like the hard, empty sound of throwing a bowling ball and getting a strike.
No one else is cursed. People crowd the streets with friends, family, partners, and they’re talking and laughing. You rest your head in the windowsill, a lone spectator in the window. The glass cuts you off from the streets.
The afternoon after daydreaming the way you did about Wonwoo is always hard. Your apartment seems intent on suffocating you. Your daydreams serve as a reminder that you’re alone, that you truly have no one, and the act itself is so humiliating, you sulk into a glass of red wine and sometimes you cry. What do normal people do when they feel this bad, you wonder again, sobbing in your bed and spilling wine on your nightie.
Nighttime falls early while you’re crying. You weep on and off, hug your knees, eat a microwave dinner and watch TV, light casting onto your pathetic form on the couch.
And in your most vulnerable state is when you most easily slip into your old habits.
You press an old contact in your phone, one you’d tried to steer away from recently. You wipe mascara from your reddened cheeks, you wear pretty lingerie, and you lie, completely empty, void of any warmth, on your bed, awaiting.
It’s the first time he touches you in months. When his hand finds your shoulder, you shudder terribly. Sorry, he says, and he seems taken aback. Just ignore it, you plead, just ignore it. He does so, unsurely, and every time his hand grazes over your body you shudder and sob and every time he hesitates, asking if you’re okay, you cry at him to continue.
It feels good while it’s happening. Skin beneath your fingertips, hands on you, a face close to yours. You and him are the only thing moving in the apartment, synergizing on your bed, conjoining and writhing, and for just a moment, you don’t feel so alone.
When you’re done the anonymous man stands back up, sliding on his pants in the late hour. He says it was great and you hum. But then he looks around, hesitating on every old piece of furniture, on every photo on the walls, and lastly on you.
“What?” you ask, lying naked in your bed. He grimaces at you, as if signaling that he can’t quite figure it out himself.
“I don’t know,” he says slowly, hands on his newly-clothed hips and surveying the corners of the room, where shadows pool. “It feels haunted in here.”
He leaves.
When the warmth is gone, the bile rises in your throat. Old habits die hard, you think, and you feel totally empty. You couldn’t go on like this. It was nights like these you began to feel like a martyr - sacrificing yourself for a brief escape. Because when the door is closed with a click and you’re alone again, you feel yourself trembling and your heart is glowing red in the empty astral plane. Brief, easy forms of pleasure are often the most harmful.
It feels haunted in here. You remember his words, and before you finally fall asleep, you wonder one thing. You wonder if you’re already dead. _____________________________
The next day is a pain to overcome. You’re slightly hungover, slightly sore, and very uncomfortable. But you comply with your routine, and you enjoy the bus ride, and when you get to the office everyone greets you.
“Morning, Y/n,” mumbles Tina.
“Morning, Tina,” you mumble back.
“Morning, Y/n,” mumbles Gerard.
“Morning, Gerard,” you mumble back.
“Morning, Y/n,” Wonwoo says. You look up from the carpet carefully, flashing him an apologetic smile. You hope he can read its intention: Sorry about being weird yesterday. You think he got it.
“Morning, Wonwoo.”
And then you’re landing yourself at your own desk and beginning work once more. It’s boring, but today you ward off the daydreams and you focus, and you’re getting an exceptional amount done.
The clock on the wall (off-white, but yellowing near the top) reads 12:28 when your boss, Stan, approaches your table. He’s half bald, and his suit is much too loose, and he has a ladder of wrinkles climbing his larger-than-life forehead.
“Hey, N/n!” he calls, so loud that a couple of heads turn at the commotion. You’ve asked him several times not to call you that.
“Stanley,” you breathe, tapping a stack of papers on your desk to neaten the pile. You wonder if you were in trouble, but if his smile is anything to go by, you’d guess not.
“My favorite woman in accounting!”
“Hehe,” you laugh half-heartedly. You catch the eye of Wonwoo, glancing over his shoulder with a small, teasing smile. You smile back.
“I have a big- oh wait, wait, new guy, uhh, Jeon? Come over here real quick!” Suddenly his solid fingers waft the now scared Wonwoo over. The spectacled man’s shoulders hunch up as he moves off the chair, nodding respectfully. Wonwoo stands beside Stanley at your desk, and you focus your attention on Stanley, hoping to not get too lost in the idea of Wonwoo again - you were doing so good today.
“I have a big job for you, and I thought you could work with Wonwoo on it,” Stan moves his hand up to cup the side of his mouth, as if telling you a big secret, “seeing as he was a bit of a star over in Wallingset.”
Shit. The guy you were daydreaming about was working with you? Wonwoo laughs, embarrassed, but you hardly have time to catch it. You can’t do this. Yesterday you were thinking about him fingering you while looking at you lovingly!
“We have a massive, new client! Just dropped a big competitor of ours, and they want us to do their six month report!” Stanley seems genuinely excited about this, so you can’t help feeling a little guilty that you’ll be a gobbering, slobbering mess, sitting beside Wonwoo on this.
“That’s great-”
“I know! So, my two star members in accountancy, I’ll hand this off to you. The data should be coming into your emails soon,” without letting either of you react, Stanley hunches over, like a coach does before a little-league baseball game, wrapping his arms around both of you and Wonwoo. “You got this, troopers!”
Stanley claps his hands on both of your backs, so hard you jerk forward at the movement, and then he bounces off to the elevator at the far end of the room. You sigh heavily from the interaction. It’s quiet for a moment, while you fiddle with the papers in front of you.
“What a guy,” Wonwoo muses finally, thin fingers resting on the edge of your desk. You giggle, unable to look him in the eye for fear that you might remember how you’d thought about starting a family with him. “Yeah.”
You and Wonwoo settle into an unoccupied meeting room, and it’s all very professional. Markers and post-its, trying to find the best way to structure the report, excel sheets to categorize and overlook data, double check numbers.
However bad you think it’s going to be, you’re wrong. Wonwoo is easy to talk to - he’s quiet, but he’s intelligent, and he understands how to bring on conversation, even when you fold in on yourself like a used napkin.
“Yeah, we used to steal signs from our neighborhood,” Wonwoo admits halfway into a conversation about your hometowns. “I don’t think that’s gonna fly anymore.”
“Why stop now? You’re letting societal rules hold you back,” you joke, and the two of you laugh, and it’s so pathetic, you’re certain you haven’t laughed this much in years, and the conversation has lasted maybe 20 minutes.
“Well, I could show you the craft, you know, it’s a delicate process-”
While Wonwoo talks your phone buzzes and you absent-mindedly pick it up, reviewing the notification.
Your grin drops. Faintly, you hear Wonwoo stop talking. He tilts his head to study the way you frown at the screen. “What’s up?” he asks.
It’s the guy from last night and he’s asking if you’ll be available again tonight.
Maybe it’s how you could almost forget it - how you let yourself into positions that would hurt you, just to feel seen and heard and touched. Maybe it’s the dichotomy of that encounter and now, talking to Wonwoo, and having the laughter steal away the loneliness. But you’re reminded so terribly of your position. You’re reminded that this, too, will end, and that the loneliness will return. You’re reminded that once the shift ends, you’re alone again.
Suddenly you’re a thousand daggers all pointing out. You shield yourself.
“Uh,” you trail off, putting the phone down again. “Just some guy.”
Wonwoo’s eyebrows raise. “Boyfriend?”
“No!” you say quickly. “No, he’s, uh. Just some guy.”
A pause.
“Okay,” Wonwoo says. You don’t even remember where you left off the conversation. You bite your lip because everything is all agony. The table is cold and dead beneath your hand.
“I’m thinking we group these together,” you say, eyes now tuned to your screen and fully submerged back into your work. Work. That was all that could cover your beaten down, cursed self.
The rest of the shift you feel Wonwoo looking at you carefully, as if he’s trying to read you. You don’t talk about yourselves anymore, no more banter, no more witty comments. You structure the report, and try to ignore how his eyes laser you open. You don’t like it. You feel like he can tell you’re a pathetic, lonely woman and that you have nothing and no one. You feel like he can sense the curse upon you.
This would be torture. _____________________________
It is not torture.
The next day, to your surprise, Wonwoo is nowhere to be seen. You wait 5, 10, then 15 minutes in the meeting room you’d camped in, before you begin working on your own. It’s slower without him, but you manage.
You can’t help but slightly worry about him. It feels stupid. You know you’re putting too much emotion into a person you’d known for two days, but you can’t help it. You wonder if he’s gotten hurt or injured, or if maybe he hates you and has transferred back. You think even Excel finds you pathetic.
You sit there for three hours, among the ruins of paperwork and your open laptop, running your hand through your hair and typing in sentences that mean nothing, and the wallpaper is off-white and yellowing at the top, and the blinds are closed to the meeting room.
Around 1 PM the door to the meeting room is opened, wood smacking against the glass that surrounds it, and Wonwoo stands in the doorway, slightly out of breath. You snap your head up to him, like the jerk of a lifeless doll, suddenly interrupted from a very disorganized Excel sheet.
“Hi, shit, sorry,” he gasps, slinging his bag off of his shoulder to sit down next to you.
“Are you okay?” you ask immediately, and Wonwoo nods blindly, pulling his laptop out of his bag. “Yeah,” he says, cheeks slightly flushed and licking his lips. “My cat- my cat needed surgery, she got sick last night, it was an emergency.”
You nod in understanding, “it’s okay-”
You can hardly get the words out before Wonwoo rolls his chair back, wheels resounding hollowly on the floor, so he can look at you clearly. “I’m really sorry about this, it was not nice of me to leave you alone with this.” He gestures vaguely to the scattered papers, and you shake your head.
“It’s okay, Wonwoo, I get it,” you say reassuringly, peering up at him through your lashes. “You don’t need to worry about it. You’re here now.”
Wonwoo seems less intent on personal conversations today - it’s probably because he was so late, and now is trying to make up the time. But it’s okay, in fact you’re somewhat relieved, because it dampens the false hope that blooms in your chest, whenever he asks you about your life.
Even if you and Wonwoo work hard and quietly, you slip into the late hours of the night in an attempt to keep on track for your schedule. Outside the windows that separate you from real life, the sky turns orange, and then dark, muted blue, and stars begin dotting its impressive stretches. People begin to leave around five, and by the time you and Wonwoo finish all your work, you’re the last ones left on your floor of the office.
Wonwoo lets out a loud sigh when he finally finishes the second segment of your report, and the both of you slump back in your seats.
“It’s so fucking late,” Wonwoo limply throws his hand in the direction of the window. You smile a little, looking out. Smaller buildings spawn geometrically from the ground, and every once in a while someone walks by with their dog, spotlighted by the stretch of street lamps that stand outside the parking lot. “I really am sorry about this, you know. Really ruined your night,” he says quietly.
You shake your head. “It’s fine, I had nothing to come home to anyway.”
There’s a pause.
Wonwoo looks at you intensely. Oh shit, you realize, was that too obvious? Was that too pathetic? Has it just clicked that you’re a loser that no one wants? You nervously look back at him, but there’s no malice in his eyes. A totally unreadable expression adorns his features, where he’s leaned back in his leather chair, legs spread invitingly. You look away, feeling dumb.
“At least we followed our schedule!” you say. Wonwoo snorts.
“Yeah, thanks to you. If you hadn’t completed so much before I got here, it would’ve been hopeless.”
Now it’s your turn to scoff, blushing lightly and looking at the linoleum flooring. “I don’t know about tha-”
“Seriously, Y/n, just take the compliment,” Wonwoo reaches a hand over, and you watch its movement.
It’s like time slows down, not like the movies, no, like you can stop time with the heavy weight of your gaze, pinning his muscles in place. But you can’t, and it lands on your shoulder with a soft thud. Fuck. His hand is warm and alive on you.
“You did so well today, I-” Wonwoo cuts himself off, because suddenly you’re trembling.
He feels your body shuddering and jerking under his hand, like the wind rattles your door when you leave it open, and he can’t see your face behind a curtain of hair, but he hears you gasp, and, fuck, you look like you’re sobbing.
The man from last night had become so hesitant when you reacted this way. When your body trembled and shook and when you cried, but Wonwoo seems to understand. He peers at you from above the rims of his glasses, and his hand stays put right there on your shoulder.
“Y/n,” he whispers, so sincere it causes a pathetic squeak to escape you. What must he think of you? The thoughts spiral and you can’t control a single one of them, they dance like freed souls in your head, and you can’t stop the spasming of your muscles, and you know you look so pathetic beside him right. “Y/n, look at me.”
You don’t. You can’t. You can’t because there are tears spilling from the rims of your eyes, and rolling down your cheeks, wet and glossy. Besides, you’re an ugly crier.
“Look at me,” he says seriously, finger tightening on your shoulder. You try to steady your breath and calm your tears, before you obey and begin to turn your chair. The simple motion requires so much effort - it’s like the air has become so thick, that the friction against your leather seat slows you down.
Finally you turn to him, eyes first resting on his knees, then, carefully, traveling up to his face. He’s frowning.
Your face is reddened and your eyes are puffy, your cheeks are shiny and you chew your bottom lip in a futile attempt to keep the tears at bay.
Wonwoo looks genuinely devastated. The hand on your shoulder softens its grasp, then begins petting your arm, rubbing up and down. The action has you choking out gasps, trembling even more in his hold, and Wonwoo feels the need to roll his chair closer to you, so his other hand can grab yours. His thumb rubs over the back of it, and he lowers his head to look at you.
“Shh, relax, relax, Y/n,” he whispers, and you try to nod, but it’s so overwhelming; being touched, being seen, being heard, all at once. For months, maybe years, no one has touched you like this - as if they care. Now the feeling is foreign, so scorching hot on your arm and your hand, your body can’t take it anymore. You’re stuck between wanting to lean into his hands, wanting to feel how real you are, and how physically true your existence is, and wanting to shy away. What must he think of you?
“Y/n,” he says, squeezing his eyes shut to banish the sigh of your sobbing. “When was the last time someone touched you?”
You hiccup painfully. “Uhm- I- I don’t, ” your eyes are bleary and your lashes are wet. Your lip trembles and your whole body shakes when you try to breathe.
Apparently this was enough of an answer for Wonwoo, because he suddenly stands, somewhat harshly tugging you into a standing position too, and pulls you directly into the harbor of his arms.
Instinctively, you wrap your arms around his torso. His chest is pressed flat against yours, so, so warm, when he nudges your head into the crook of his neck, and presses his face against its side, sighing softly into you, and breathing warm air onto your hair. His palms push you into him, soothing your trembling body, and holding you like an anker. One hand travels up to your hair.
“W-Wonwoo, you don’t have to-”
“Shh,” he quiets you immediately, voice the softest wind of a peach tree. “Just let me take care of you.”
You do. Wonwoo holds you until you stop crying, and though it must’ve been twenty minutes or so, it feels like no time at all. Standing in his space, breathing in his dark cologne, and letting his heat thaw your dead heart is a totally timeless act. Joy and serenity flows from the places where your bodies touch. When you stop crying, Wonwoo holds you for longer.
Eventually, he lets you go.
You step back sheepishly, now much calmer and the red in your face faded. You wipe your tired eyes shyly with your sleeve.
“Thank you, Wonwoo,” you mumble, voice thick and garbled. When you look up at him, he smiles softly, although it doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Don’t worry about it,” he says softly, arm extending one last time to squeeze your forearm. Then it falls limp again.
“I, uh, I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
“Of course.”
When you return home, you’re buzzing. Your entire apartment buzzes along with you, things seem to clatter and beam along with the bright, glowing of your heart. You snuggle into bed and nothing is still and even when you’re drifting into sleep, your nerve endings spin in joyful circles, and your feet are a static hum. Suddenly you are very, very real. _____________________________
You’d think the next day would be tense and awkward, and maybe it is at first, but soon enough you’re talking again, more intimately than before even.
This is Wonwoo’s doing - you know this. You know he’s smart and you know he doesn’t want you to feel bad, so he makes conversation and builds trust between the two of you. You know he hopes you don’t feel insecure. Every word he says and every flick of his eyes is riddled with it.
The conversation decidedly slows down your progress, so Wonwoo once more suggests staying overtime. You look at him for a moment before agreeing.
You can’t tell what his end goal is. A chamber of your heart has been revived and rebirthed, and you’re more chipper, more bouncy, but the rest of your heart insists: you’re still cursed - eventually it’ll go back to how it should be. You listen. You try not to get your hopes up that Wonwoo really cares about you. Why should he, really?
Although when you’re done for the day, about an hour after your usual 5 PM, you stand up and begin to pack your things, laptop sliding into your bag and clustering pens in your hand. It’s gray outside, but the sun comes in a single strand through a gap in the smog and the clouds. The wind hoots by the windows, and it smells like the indian you ordered for lunch together.
You stop your packing, feeling a set of eyes in your back. You twist your head to see him.
Wonwoo is sitting completely still in his chair, slack-covered legs spread open, and he makes no move to collect his own things. He just stares.
“What’s up?” you quip. You’re slightly nervous. Just before it was all silly childhood stories, college and weed and life before the dead-end job. Now Wonwoo has that unreadable expression on his face again.
He slowly lifts his hands from the armrest, eyes locked with yours, and claps his palms on the tops of his thighs.
Your eyebrows furrow.
“Wha-”
“Come here,” he says simply. When you stand completely still, like a deer in the headlights, Wonwoo scoffs and rolls his eyes. “What? You think you’re cured because someone hugged you once?”
“Cured?”
“You’re touch-starved, Y/n,” Wonwoo states matter-of-factly, “you need to be touched.”
“Touch-starved?” you echo, a bewildered expression on your face.
“We can also just hug, like yesterday,” he suggests calmly. You envy his collectedness. “I just don’t want you to feel bad. So please. Come sit.”
To emphasize, Wonwoo pats his thighs again, patiently. You step away from your bag with hesitating steps, pursing your lips. Your cheeks blaze when you look at his thighs again - they’re so long, and the folds in his slacks stretch down and centralize on his crotch and- You’re being a pervert.
“Okay,” you squeak and Wonwoo tuts. Why is that hot, you think, why the hell is that hot?
“We can just hug if you-”
You feel bold.
Without letting him finish, you swing your leg over his, and plop down, straddling halfway down his thighs. You thank God you put pants on this morning instead of a skirt, when you look down at where you rest on top of him.
Wonwoo is a little taken aback, but when you’ve settled on him, his hands find your waist and he looks up at you with a hum. Your breathing is a little shaky. Once again his hands provide a pumping of golden joy into your body, and more of you comes alive and becomes real, and you smile.
What had Wonwoo been talking about? Touch-starved?
“What’s, um-” your question is cut off with a gasp, when Wonwoo uses his hands on your middle to tug you closer. You rest on the highest point of thighs that you can without sitting on his dick. Cheeks red and eyes squeezed shut, you hear how Wonwoo hums, pleased. “What were you talking about? Touch-starved?” you whisper, keeping your eyes shut.
Wonwoo sighs, and once more, like the movement is entirely replayed, his hand finds your hair and pushes your face into the crook of his neck. You sigh against it, enjoying how his arms protect you and hide you from the evil of the world.
“If you don’t touch anyone,” Wonwoo begins, his voice low bass in your ear, “you become touch-starved. That’s why you reacted the way you did yesterday.”
His hands run up and down your sides.
“But- but I’m not crying today,” you say quietly into his neck. Wonwoo hums.
“No, that’s good,” he says. “We can stop if you really want, I just wa-”
“No!” your voice squeaks immediately, and, as if he were running from you, you fist his shirt to keep him close.
“Okay,” there’s a smile in Wonwoo’s voice. You can’t see it but you can imagine it.
Comfortable silence. Wonwoo traces patterns on your back and you breathe deeply against the skin of his neck. The two of you function as one living thing, the only living thing left in the office. Chairs are turned halfway, a couple lights are left on. The desks betray the past presence of humans.
“Wonwoo,” you pip.
“Mhm?”
“You don’t have to do this, you know? I don’t want you to do it if you- if it’s just.. Pity.”
Wonwoo sighs, and you feel the way his torso deflates underneath you. He trails his hand up from your back to tap your cheek. You move back and look at him.
Your faces are very close, you can feel how your exhales collide and then scatter, hell, you think you could count each of his eyelashes from here.
“I already told you. I’m doing this because I don’t want you to feel bad. I-” he hesitates for a moment, pursing his lips. “I’ve been there. So I know what it’s like.”
The thought of Wonwoo feeling like this, like you, is sickening. Genuinely sickening, you feel your insides turn to rot and mold and you frown so deeply, you think your lips might forever lock in that position.
“I’m okay now,” he reassures, reading you immediately. His hand finds your cheek and he almost cries out at the way you lean into it blindly.
“How did you-.. I- I always thought it was, like, a lifelong curse,” you say.
“A curse?” Wonwoo grins, thumb stroking over the skin of your cheek. It makes you happy, it makes you feel like your heart will burst.
“Yeah. I guess I just blamed some old woman from my hometown,” you giggle, blushing a little because, yes, it did sound stupid when you weren’t just echoing the theory to yourself, like playing a team sport alone.
“You’re not cursed,” Wonwoo promises, tucking your head into his chest. “I’ll help you, don’t worry. I’ll take care of you from now on.”
He does take care of you.
Every day you work overtime, and every day when you’re done with work, Wonwoo slides you into his lap and holds you, while you curl up in his chest. Then you talk and you laugh, and you listen to each other's music. His hands run warm up your back and in your hair and on your hips, gentle caresses, deeply intimate. For two weeks you and Wonwoo indulge in this nighttime ritual.
You have not felt lonely since that night. And Wonwoo can tell. Your skin is warmer and brighter, you smile wider, your eyes twinkle, and there’s energy in every movement. Your body thaws under his warm hands every night, and sometimes when you smile, he gets so happy he could kiss you.
You realize you like Wonwoo one particular night when you’re falling asleep in your bed and you can still feel the ghost of his arms around you and it lulls you into a deep, dreamless sleep, and when you wake up you smell a little bit like his cologne. That’s how you realize. You like how considerate and how gentle he is, you like how sweet he is to you, you like how he looks when he smiles and when he laughs and you like how much he loves his cat. You like how his arms feel wrapped around you.
And you like him, and suddenly your apartment is a song that you dance in, and every photo on your walls is smiling and your bed is always warm and so is your heart.
There’s nothing dead in here, you think, when you cook a delicious meal on the stovetop, sauce bubbling in a stainless steel pan. Nothing haunted about your home or your heart. _____________________________
“We’re almost done.”
“Mhm.”
“I can’t believe we’re almost done!”
Wonwoo looks up, bemused, lips made small and pointed. You’re staring at the almost-done document, scrolling up and down through long and arduous paragraphs. It’s nighttime again - not that you had to stay late today, it was a choice - and the city glimmers brilliantly in the coolness. You and Wonwoo wear sweaters to keep warm.
“Feels like a lifetime,” Wonwoo murmurs, same smile upon his beautiful face. His cheekbones point out from beneath his skin.
“Yeah,” you breathe, leaning back. You won’t put your fingers back on the keyboard. Not when it could be done so soon. You look at him, all snuggled up in a brown sweater. “What if..”
A pause. He tilts his head.
“Well, are we still gonna talk?” you chew your lip dejectedly, feeling a little sad and desperate, but Wonwoo only laughs. It’s a beautiful sound, it’s one you associate with joy.
“Of course,” he says, as his laughter quiets down. “If you want to.”
A shy smile forms on your lips. You turn to look back at the computer, but you hear the now-familiar sound of Wonwoo patting his thighs. You flit your eyes back to him, teasingly scolding.
“We’re not done.”
“We don’t have to be done now,” he shrugs, an equally teasing smile on his lips. You roll your eyes, but, unsurprisingly, you shift over to him, sitting down in his lap. He immediately tugs you closer, fingers searching for stimulation on the seams of your jeans. There’s something different about Wonwoo today, you realize, his touch is more feverish, his fingers dig deeper into the fat of your hips and he looks up at you like you’re a diamond-encrusted chandelier, hanging from the ceiling, all glittering jewels.
“What’s up?” you giggle nervously. It’s becoming hard to breathe with the way he paws at your hips.
There’s something in the air between you, but maybe you’re imagining it. Maybe it’s your mind playing tricks on you, concocting the magnetic pull that lingers between you, the thicker, heavier air, that urges you closer.
He sighs heavily, as if he was dreading this. All of a sudden composed, cool, icy Wonwoo is chewing his lip and avoiding your eyes, looking instead down where your fat gives way for his needy fingers.
“I, uh, I really like you, Y/n,” his voice shakes. “Would you. Maybe. Want to go out some time?”
At the last syllable his gaze locks on to yours, and you watch him visibly relax, because you’re fucking grinning.
Not maliciously, not crudely, not a dime or a dab of evil, only genuine joy.
“I-I would like that,” you control your smile, pointing your lips in the same way that Wonwoo does and blushing all over. Wonwoo grins too and it’s unbearably boyish.
“Okay,” he says, as if he can’t believe it. “Okay. Great.”
The window slams shut, the spell is undone by his hand, the dead defy their only law to bow to his necromancy. Wonwoo is alive and warm underneath you, and you are alive and warm on top of him, thighs pushed up against his and tugging at the fabric of his shirt. Your balloon of heart pops in your chest, and the bone-cage of your chest is filled with helium, that has you floating. Rosy and shiny, your heart beats at twice its normal speed.
There’s a lull in the conversation. It would’ve been a more comfortable silence, if you couldn’t see by how Wonwoo looks down and purses his lips, that he’s itching to say more.
Sparked by his confession, you confidently snake your hand up to tap his cheek lazily. He turns to you with a loafy smile. “What is it?”
He breathes out unsteadily.
“You’re-” he closes his eyes. “There’s so much I like about you. It- It makes me feel really bad that you weren’t feeling well, so I-”
He cringes at himself, one hand pushing away his glasses to rub the eyes underneath them.
“Can I make you feel better?” he asks vaguely.
You huff out a laugh. “Are you trying to ask if I want to have sex?”
He laughs too, behind his big hand. “No. It’s not the same, I want it to be about you!”
You laugh more, and Wonwoo’s face reappears as he lowers his hand. He looks up at you adoringly, dotingly. He’s smiling.
“I’m being serious,” he says quietly, when you finish. He seems less embarrassed now, more so smug. “I want to make you feel good.”
He’s paying an awful lot of attention to your hips, which he has not let up massaging and squeezing roughly.
“Can I..?” he begins, eyes fixed on your hips in his lap. “Can I make you cum?”
Then, slowly, Wonwoo lifts his hands and gently places them around on your face. His touch is always as soft as a hope-laced wind. He’s warm and he’s alive and he’s holding onto you, and you see it in his eyes: you’re real, you’re right underneath my fingertips.
“Please.”
That’s all he needs, before he presses his lips against yours.
The kiss is everything you want it to be; because it’s loving. It’s slow, it’s deep, it’s gentle, there’s no tongue, just the soft, warm, real, alive flows of his lips against your own. His hands on both of your cheeks caress your cheekbones gently, and warm air is spilled in the small space between you. He pulls away, panting.
“I don’t understand it,” he mumbles, before he’s pressing his lips back to yours hungrily. You let out a confused hum, and you have to gently push at his shoulder to back him off again. “What do you mean?” you ask.
“Why you were so alone,” he breathes, transfixed on your lips. “I want to be with you all the time.”
Before you can respond, Wonwoo grips the underside of your thighs, lifting you and himself from the chair and placing you on the desk. You gasp at the impact when the glass table meets your bottom, and Wonwoo is standing over you, suddenly so tall and so broad, and slimming at the waist. His narrow eyes become hooded behind the reflection of his glasses. His head is tilted down to meet yours.
“Can I take off your clothes, pretty?”
You don’t answer, only grip the edge of your shirt, tugging it over your head, so your bra-clad chest is exposed to him. He groans at the sight.
“You’re so beautiful,” he mumbles, nimble fingers dancing across your back to unclip the bra, sucking in a harsh breath the fabric becomes loose, sliding down your arms. “Such a pretty girl.”
“Stop,” you whisper, face warm and red. Your heart has never beat this way. It’s utterly unbearable and addicting at the same time, it’s without rhythm or class, it’s wild. And it’s because he’s looking at you and it’s not just lust. It’s adoration. There are deeper strings to the make-up of his eyes, there are lines connected to his heart, and he’s all flushed.
“What?” he asks. “I’m just telling you the truth.”
Wonwoo throws your bra on the floor next to him, hands finding the hem of your pants. “Can I take your pants off?”
You nod, still so shy and abashed, because Wonwoo’s eyes feel like a pink spotlight, and you are bathed in its warmth. He unbuttons your pants and you gently slide off the table to work them off your legs.
“Your panties are cute,” Wonwoo remarks (it should feel lewd, but he has a hand on your hip, that brushes the bone and he smiles at it). “Thank you,” you breathe, before you’re taking them off too.
Wonwoo doesn’t need to, but he still insists on gently lifting you back onto the table, and he kisses your nose when you’re sitting before him. He’s standing in between your legs, and then he’s looking down at where wetness drips onto the glass table.
His hand slides down your stomach, resting on the fat of it. He’s smiling, he’s so gorgeous, because he’s smiling the most gentle smile at how wet you are and how it leaks onto the table and his hand is so warm on your stomach, doing nothing, yet turning you on even more than you’d ever been before.
He sighs like he’s carrying the greatest burden on his broad back. “You’re so pretty,” he says, almost exasperated by it. He pinches some of the fat of your stomach between his fingers lovingly. “I can’t believe I get to have you like this.”
Then the hand on your stomach slides down further. His large, veiny hand cups your pussy, the tips of his fingers just barely teasing your hole. You whimper against him, hands finding his biceps for support. Wonwoo studies you, craning his neck down to peer at your face, while his fingers begin swaddling your folds.
“You’re so wet, baby,” he mumbles, trying to catch your eye where you bury into his chest. One finger dips into your hole, penetrating slowly and settling knuckle-deep.
“Wonnie!” you cry out, squeezing your eyes shut.
“Mmm, clenching down on Wonnie’s finger so hard. My beautiful girl.”
He begins pushing his finger in and out of you, pace slow and torturous. His other hand slides up and down your body, squeezing your waist then your thigh, then coming right back up to fondle your chest. He pushes your back flat against the glass, so you’re all splayed out for him and you watch him from there, eyes hooded and legs spread to accommodate him. He breathes in shakily at the sight of you.
“Shit, Y/n. What were you doing hiding all this from me?” His finger picks up the pace, as another finger slips in alongside it. You’re moaning and panting, lips red and hair mussed, unable to focus on his words, when his fingers curl against that spongy spot inside you. Apparently Wonwoo expects an answer though, because he speaks again, voice lower and rougher. “Hm? You didn’t want to go have lunch? What, was it that guy?”
“W-What?”
“Just some guy,” Wonwoo echoes your past words, emphasizing with a harsh thrust of his fingers.
“N-No, I- Hng!” you cry out, when Wonwoo’s thumb presses onto your clit. He rubs it torturously. “I-I was embarrassed because I- I was thinking about you!”
“Oh?” this catches Wonwoo’s attention, as he diligently works his hand within you, staring down at your naked form, fully clothed and tall. “Tell me what you were thinking about, baby.”
“This!” you cry out, too high off the pleasure to really feel embarrassed about it.
“Pretty, sweet, dumb baby. You were thinking about you whimpering and writhing while I fuck you with my hand, hm?”
“N-No,” you mumble, cheeks aflame. “W-Was thinking about you l-liking me.”
At this Wonwoo hastily leans over you, pressing his lips onto yours again, and this time his tongue pries open your mouth, wet and warm in the cavern of your mouth. You moan into the kiss, hips canting into his hand. There’s something so desperate about him then, something so eager in the way he crooks his fingers, and how he kisses you, panting and covering your face in warm air. You feel a tight knot in your stomach.
“Cum on my fingers, please, pretty, sweet, baby, darling,” he mumbles into your mouth, rushing out the words before he’s sealing your lips again.
“God, I think I might fall in love with you.”
That makes you cum. You cum so fucking hard, clenching around his fingers like an air-tight seal, and your cum spills onto his fingers and his name spills into his mouth. The curse comes out with it, escaping like the air that spills out from an ancient, rediscovered chamber, and dissipating into the night. Your heart is beating and you’re breathing into his mouth, nose brushing his.
“Good girl,” he breathes, finally releasing your lips and letting his lips fall heavy and wet on your cheek.
He pulls out his fingers, unbearably wet and slick, and you think for a second that he’ll let you calm down and then maybe he’ll put his dick in you, but as soon as the fingers are out of you, they’re settling back on to your clit, rubbing heavy-handed circles.
You whine, arching your back off the table and wiggling your hips at the overstimulation. His other hand catches your hip and he shushes your cries softly.
“You can cum again, can’t you, baby? You can take it,” he says, so nonchalantly, while his slick fingers rub you. You cry out. Your legs are shaking. “Think you can cum again from just this?”
“Y-Yes,” you sigh and when you look down, his entire hand covers your pussy, as he pets your clit in circles. He smiles at your words, pinching your clit teasingly. It causes a squeak to escape you, hips struggling against his hold, where he pins you to the table.
“Good girl,” he praises, purring. “Letting me use your pretty pussy like this, letting me make you feel good.”
His body in front of you prevents your legs from closing, but, God, do they try, knees pinching his thin waist, and hair bunching up on the glass when your face scrunches up in pleasure.
“A-a-ah!” you cry out. Your hips involuntarily begin to inch away from him, but Wonwoo pulls you back with one strong hand, tutting.
“Don’t do that,” he mutters, pouting. “You need to be touched, remember?”
The whole thing is so heart-achingly intimate. The way he stands, still fully clothed and with a huge fucking tent in his pants, simply rubbing your pussy and looking at you with heart-eyes. Seriously, eyes swimming with adoration for you, teasing words slipping from his mouth unable to mask the genuine wonder he feels, at how you gasp and you arch and you clean and you jerk from the simplest of his movements. And your pussy is so warm and wet under his hand, and his body between your legs is so warm, and you cum again from just that; from how much love he looks at you with, and from the fingers crooking to pinch your clit again, wet and swollen underneath his glistening fingertips.
“W-Wonwoo!” you cry out, cumming again, and your body convulses around his, when it oozes out of your hole. Wonwoo’s fingers gently work you through it. His gaze on you is so intent, so careful and insistent, you can’t bear it, the way he sees you totally lost in the pleasure he brings you.
“There you go,” he whispers gently, fingers letting up and disappearing from your pulsating pussy.
“Wonwoo,” you mewl tiredly, pushing yourself onto your elbows to look up at him. He looks at you, so sweetly, so attentively, hands immediately finding your back to stabilize you. “Can I please have your cock now?”
“We don’t have to-”
“I want to!” you interrupt him, brows furrowed and lips in a pout. Wonwoo grins at that and though he may deny it, you don’t miss the red that twinges his cheeks.
“It’s just if you were too tired..-”
“I’m not,” you say decidedly, and Wonwoo nods.
“Okay. C’mere then.”
You’re confused when Wonwoo sits back down in the office chair, fingers working his slacks open. He doesn’t answer to your grimace though, only manages his pants unzipped and in one lift of his hips, peel both them and his boxers down.
His cock springs free, and your confused grimace is replaced with one of awe. It’s pale and veiny, the head is red and thin, white liquid oozes from it, like melted candle wax. And it’s huge.
You’re too slow to mask your amazement, it seems, because when your eyes return to his face, he’s already looking at you, smiling smugly.
“Come ride me, baby.”
You don’t need to be told twice. You slide off the table eagerly, lumbering over to where he’s relaxed against the back of the chair. He looks up at you, all naked and pretty, with a grin.
The top buttons of his dress shirt are unbuttoned, but he must’ve given up halfway. Either way, the milky plates of his chest are exposed, shining gloriously in the warm office light, and he discards his glasses, face fully exposed to you. He’s beautiful, and you think to tell him.
“You’re beautiful,” you whisper, planting each leg around his, so you’re straddling him. Like your ritual, Wonwoo grips your middle and pulls you closer, but this time it’s even closer than normal. Your stomach meets his dick, all heavy and hot on your skin, and your breath hitches at the sensation.
“You’re beautiful,” he teases, looking up at you. You smile.
“Can I put it in?” you ask.
“As if the answer was ever gonna be no?”
You snort out a laugh, raising yourself by your thighs and gripping the base of his dick to steer him inside. He hisses at the feeling of your hand grappling with his impressive size, and he hisses once more when the head of his cock buries into your heat.
His hands on your waist anchor himself while you slowly sink down, until he’s so fully sheathed in you, you think the tip of his cock must be brushing your heart, because it feels like it’s swinging in your chest.
“You’re so big,” you whimper, clutching his broad shoulders, and scrunching the fabric on top of them.
“Don’t say shit like that, I’m gonna cum, babe,” he grits out, fingers bruising your waist. You mewl, clutching his shirt. Then you begin to bounce.
Your thighs flex on either side of him as you heave up and down his cock, the both of you gasping into each other, and clutching each other for stability.
“Shit,” he pants out, genuinely out of breath. “Fuck, you’re the loveliest girl in the world.”
You cry out, pressure already welling in your stomach and burying yourself in his neck like you’ve always done, and it’s so intimate and he’s warm, and, fuck, he wants you. You can feel it in his grip, in his cock, in his words; he wants you more than anything. The thought makes you wanna cum.
Wonwoo is not quiet at all. He grunts and whines and his words are strangled and garbled, but frequent, showering you in affection and praise, while you bounce eagerly on his huge cock.
“You’re so pretty, baby.”
“Your tits are so perfect, shit.”
“Pretty girl.”
“Loveliest, prettiest, sweetest girl, bouncing on my cock, fuck.”
Praises spill from his lips in purrs, one after another, and when you cum you can’t help but return it tenfold.
“Wonwoo, Wonwoo, Wonnie, fuck! Gonna- fucking cum, I think I’m- f-falling in love with you”
You and Wonwoo come alive. Cum spurts from his cock and into your pussy, and you both cry out, entangled and completing one another in the space where you meet.
And it’s true, falling in love with him is so easy. And falling in love with you is easy too, you realize, because the second he’s spilled his cum in you, he pulls you from his neck to kiss you so deeply, so thoroughly, you think your lips might never unpuff from his hasty, bitten kisses.
His cock, now soft, still inside you, his warm chest against yours, his nose nudging yours, his eyelashes fluttering against your skin, the kiss is totally perfect, and you’re warm, and the windows are all closed and fogged up and there’s no curse other than the most fatal and most perfectly tantalizing of them all: love.
You are not alone. You’re sitting in his lap and you think if you give it a day or two more, you might want to spend the rest of your life with him.
You catch your breaths.
“You’re really good at that,” you say finally. He grins again, perfectly undone, hair tousled and cheeks flushed. “Yeah?” he asks. You hum.
After some minutes of keeping him inside you, kissing lazily, running your hands over his pretty chest and arms, you pull back, beginning to flex your legs to pull him out of you.
“What are you doing?” he asks, hands wafting to still your movements. You furrow your brows, confused.
“Am getting your dick out of me?”
His hands sink down on your hips heavily, fully encompassing his dick again. You sigh at the feeling.
“Don’t do that, silly. You’re touch-starved, remember?”
He tilts his head teasingly.
“So why don’t you just sit snug on my cock, so you can get all the closeness you need?”

you're obsessed
you're obsessed
Pairing: Jamie Tartt x fem!actress!reader
Warnings: swearing, no use of y/n
Summary: jamie tartt fic where he has a huge crush on an actress and sees her at a richmond event and she flirts w him he’s really shy bc he likes her but they hook up after idk
Wordcount: 1.6k
A/N: didnt manage to write any smut bc this was getting way too long teehee :D general warnings for swearing.
writing comms are open!
“Oi, Tartt! Stop stalking your actress and give me some laps,” Roy yells, shaking Jamie from his reverie. Jamie is not stalking her instagram. He’s just not; because a stalker would have notifications on as they obsessively checked their profile at least four times every minute. Jamie is only checking once every five minutes, and he doesn’t even have her notifications on. So there. Suck it, Roy.
“Fine, don’t give yourself an aneurysm,” he mutters, taking a quick minute to stretch before he’s running around the pitch. He just has a crush. That’s all. A little one. He first saw you in some thriller that came out last month, and something about you had him hooked. Initially he thought it was just the character you played, a regular yet charming civilian, pulled into the crime world. After watching (admittedly, way too many) interviews, he realised it wasn’t the character. It was you.
You with your witty remarks and comments. The way you laughed good naturedly and poked fun at your costars. The way you were clumsy and scatterbrained, in a terribly endearing way.
It didn’t help that you were also gorgeous.
So, yeah. Jamie had a slight crush. It was fine, though, because you were currently based in Los Angeles (you were in a new Marvel movie) and had no plans of coming to the UK anytime soon.
“She’s right fit, though,” Isaac says, nudging Jamie as he runs past.
Jamie feels his stomach tighten with jealousy before he catches himself. Why was he jealous? He didn’t know you and you probably didn’t even know he existed. Well, maybe you did, because he was sexy and a hot football player. Did you even watch football? Would you watch it if you knew he was in it?
Jamie remembers hearing something about a parasocial relationship from Keeley and resolves to not think about you.
At least while he was training.
***
He’s spraying on cologne in the locker room when Keeley bursts in, all smiles and pep.
“Oh. My. Fucking. God!”
“Is everything alright?” Ted asks, breaking away from Coach Beard who as far as Jamie could tell, hasn’t said anything but is managing to have a full conversation with Ted.
“You will not believe who I booked for this years’ Gala!”
Roy’s ears perk up at this as he slides into the conversation. “The Muppets?”
“No, Roy,” Keeley says, exasperated, “not the fucking Muppets. Only the hottest new actress on screen right now!”
At this point, all the boys have gathered around Keeley, jostling each other and trying to see the screen of her phone. Jamie fights his way to the front, and when his eyes focus on Keeley’s phone, he’s pretty sure his heart drops into his stomach.
It was you. There. With your smile and your eyes and your name and a headline.
You were coming to their Gala.
You.
He feels his heart drop into his stomach. This couldn’t be real. Maybe it was a mistype, or someone accidentally said they scheduled you but in reality you were on the other side of the globe. It was faked. It had to be.
He broke away from his team, practically running back to the changing rooms. Opening up your instagram, he pulled up your story. There, you had reposted the announcement.
Oh. Oh fuck.
***
On the day of the Gala, Jamie seriously considers hiring a stylist rather than just going with his gut. He needs to look good. Tonight is most probably one of the most important days of his life. His favourite actress, coming to his club’s Gala. Maybe, if he plays his cards right, you’ll bid on him.
Wait. Who was he kidding? He’s Jamie fucking Tartt. Of course you’ll bid on him. He could wear a trash bag and you’d bid on him, because he is just that fucking sexy.
Right?
He shoots a quick text to Keeley, desperate for a second opinion.
Me:
thoughts? Xx
Keeley:
Ur hot babes!!
Gonna knock em dead xx
Lose the tie u look like a prick <3
He takes one last look in the mirror, running his hands through his hair. Yeah. He’s gonna show up and be so cool. He’s so cool.
***
They’re taking pictures on the carpet, and everyone can tell Jamie is not all there. He barely tells the paparazzi to take pictures of his good side, following it up with “And that’s any side.” His eyes keep darting around, every scream and shout of delight sending his stomach in knots in case you’re the one to step out of the limousine.
Maybe you just won’t show up. Maybe you were already inside.
He can’t decide which option is worse.
When he’s at the end of the carpet, about to head inside, he hears whistles and screams, different from the ones before. These sound a lot more excited, filled with more adrenaline and anticipation. Or maybe he’s just projecting.
He turns, and sure enough, you’re there.
Stunning. That’s the only thing he can think of. You smile beautifully at the photographers, working the crowd with ease. It was as if you were friends, had a solid rapport with them with the way you were conversing back and forth.
“Close your mouth. You look like a fucking basking shark,” Roy says, elbowing Jamie in the stomach.
He flinches back, giving Roy a shove in return. “Oi, what was that for?”
“You’re not gonna make a good impression with you gawking like a fucking idiot. Go say hi or something. Be fucking normal.”
Jamie sends Roy an affronted look. “I am normal, you old bastard. Just because we don’t act like how you did in the 1800s doesn’t mean I’m being an idiot.”
Roy just growls, shoving past him into the building.
Jamie takes a step forward to follow when a voice catches his attention.
“Hey! You’re Jamie Tartt, right?”
He turns on instinct, a winning smile already plastered on his face. “I’ll do autographs once—you.”
You raise your eyebrows slightly, waiting for him to go on. “Once I what?”
“You’re, um, you’re her.” He says your name, almost reverently.
Your grin widens, almost giddy. “You know who I am?”
“I follow you—” before he could say more, your manager rushes in behind you, ushering you inside. You wince at him, apologetic, before heading inside.
Jamie stands there, dumbfounded.
I follow you? That’s what he had to say? Now he really does sound like a stalker. He scrubs his hand over his face, groaning in disappointment.
He’s gonna make it up to you. He has to.
***
Inside, he sees he’s sat with Ted and Roy as well as a few other people and an empty seat next to him. He largely ignores his own table, trying to catch sight of you and not succeeding in the slightest. He huffs a sigh of annoyance, sliding into his seat.
Ted notices his glum aura, nodding sagely. “It’s the oysters, isn’t it? Because I know they have to try to make the flavour appeal to everyone but adding this much lemon is just downright insultin’.”
“It’s not the oysters, coach.”
Ted frowns. “The placemats? I was never really an eggshell white person myself but—”
“Jamie’s pining over an actress he thinks I don’t see him stalk on insta when he’s supposed to be running drills,” Roy cuts in, tired of Ted’s guessing.
“I’m not pining,” Jamie pouts, crossing his arms in a decidedly not childish way.
Before Roy could get another rebuttal out, the seat next to him is being filled, and once again he sees you, smiling at him. “Actresses are overrated,” you say, placing your napkin over your lap, “trust me.”
Jamie’s blood runs cold, convinced the universe is playing a cruel trick on him. Running into you is an absolute dream, he’d never deny that, but running into you with both Ted and Roy there? He may as well be taken out back and shot.
He must’ve been sitting there agape for too long, because before he knows it, Ted is reaching a hand over and giving yours a shake.
“Ted Lasso, it’s a pleasure to meet ya’. I absolutely loved you in that thriller that came out last June. Had me on the edge of my couch! And I know Jamie here liked it as well, he was bawling a right mess by the end of it.”
You turn to look at Jamie, and having the full force of your attention on him made him nearly choke on air. “Were you really?”
Jamie licks his lips, trying to gain some composure. “Bawling is sayin’ a lot, really. More like a reasonable cry.”
You nod along, clearly not buying it.
“I’ve been keeping up with your games this season. The goal you scored against West Ham the other day was seriously impressive. You were practically miles away from the net.”
Immediately, Jamie perked up. “You like football?”
“Well, I’m no expert, but I definitely try to watch all your games if I can.”
Jamie leans in, feeling bold and taking your hand in his. “Richmonds games? Or my games?”
You shrug. “Depends on the hair.”
He laughs, leaning back in his chair, body turned towards you. Maybe tonight won’t be so bad after all.

do you guys ever think about paul getting married on julia's birthday
like ok maybe it was just a coincidence but it explains john's reaction to me bcuz yeah of course he'd be going insane trying to get married w yoko 2 days later in paris *of all places* (and failing) and then actually doing it in gibraltar a week after... just saying
March, 12th.
I really don’t remember whether or not I invited any of the band to the wedding. Why not? I’m a total bastard, I suppose – I don’t know, really. Maybe it was because the group was breaking up. We were all pissed off with each other. We certainly weren’t a gang any more. That was the thing. Once a group’s broken up like that, that’s it. - Paul McCartney, in Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now, by Barry Miles, 1998
John, George and Ringo weren’t at the wedding, which might have been because of the tensions of the time, or because we decided to do it quickly. It seems like an important point now but it wasn’t at the time – it was just the two of us wanting to get married quietly. My dad wasn’t there either – I’m not sure he was pleased with me about that, but my best excuse was that it was the spirit of the times. We didn’t want a big fuss. - Paul McCartney, Wingspan, 2002
also i remember yoko saying john got inside the car, mad as hell and told her they were getting married and she (according to herself in that thing i saw) was like ... yea ok, like he didnt even ask so it wasnt a proposal at all, i cant find it tho but i've read it a lot of times, also prior to this there's the apple employee's version where john got in, saw like a zine or a newspaper or smt and got so mad he said he was gonna fire whoever did that lmao bc it was a pic of paul w linda announcing/congratulating them for their marriage and then he wrote things and I SWEAR it's real bcuz i did some deep research back when i found about it but i dont know how to look it up
#paul mccartney#linda mccartney#john lennon#thebeatles#let it be#i dont know if this makes sense#im sort of rambling here

this wasn’t what you expected when you decided to take the job at hyosan high school, to say the least.
you weren’t a very squeamish person, but zombies walking around everywhere? nuh uh, that was the end of you. but of course, this was just your luck for accepting the first job you could get after you had finished university and got a degree. maybe you should have waited until another job offer had come and see which one was better. but there wasn’t much time to think about it now, what had been done was done and now you were stuck in the middle of a freaking apocalypse.
wasn’t really what you thought you would be doing once you got out of university, you thought being a teaching assistant would be fun, just to train you for the real thing. but now you were stuck in the middle of a classroom, hiding away from the flesh eating zombies when you heard multiple footsteps running past your door.
you peeked out from where you were sat under the teachers desk, and alone behold, a group of teenagers you barely recognised ran past. and a few minutes later, calling out. you weren’t completely stupid, you knew zombies couldn’t talk, much less say another student’s names.
the corridor with your class was fairly empty of the zombies, but you knew it wouldn’t take long for them to get there if they heard, or smelled, fresh meat. you rushed out from underneath the teachers desk and opened the classroom door that wasn’t fully barricaded by chairs and desks.
the girl now, you recognised, choi nam-ra, a class president. you called her over, and she walked into the classroom, helping you barricade the door with chairs and desks as you both heard the zombies start to come down the corridor.
you leant against the tables as you both finished stacking and barricading the door. nam-ra stared at you for a couple of seconds before speaking up.
“have you been in here since the start?” she asked quietly, you glanced up at her and nodded.
“who were you calling out for?” you asked in return.
“me and the group i was with got separated. i was slightly slower than him because i’m injured, and nobody turned around to check i was still with them” your eyes widened and you began to back away when you heard about her injury, when she reassured you. “its not a bite, i promise”
she lifted her skirt up slightly to show you an extremely bloody bandage on her leg, she began to unravel it to show you the fairly deep gash underneath, you winced slightly.
“you didn’t get any of their blood in it?” you asked softly, kneeling down to examine the gash. you were no professional, but you had some medical training and knew what to do in this situation.
“no” she whispered, looking down at you, her face slightly flushed.
you nodded softly and told her to sit on one of the chairs left in the middle of the room, she did as you asked and you rifled through the cupboards to find any kind of med kit that may help, you eventually found one and walked back to nam-ra, pulling up a chair in front of her and telling her to lay her leg on it before pulling another chair up and sitting on it.
you got rubbing alcohol and put it on a clean cloth.
“this may hurt” you tell her, looking into her eyes, she nodded slightly.
you started cleaning around the cut before softly cleaning the cut as well as you could, nam-ra winced and gripped onto your free hand that was sitting on your lap. you glanced up at her face, she had her eyes screwed closed, her hand gripping onto yours tightly.
you finished cleaning the cut and grabbed the needle and thread inside of the med kit before looking at her. her eyes were trained on your hands, before realising you had stopped and she looked at you.
“this may hurt a little more than cleaning” you say, and she nodded again.
you stitched her up, making sure it was neat and tidy before you grabbed some more bandages and bandaged her leg up as though to preform a protective field.
“all done” you smile at her, patting her leg slightly. “you’re going to have to be as careful as you possibly can with that leg now, as careful as you can be in an apocalypse” you say as you put the med kit back where you got it.
“thanks” she says, and you turn to her with a smile as you close the cupboard.
“its no problem at all”
for the next few hours, you sat and talked about school, and how it was going for her and you, you being a new person to the school. since you were decently young, you had a lot of the male student hitting on you, and you both joked about it seeing as nam-ra had the same problem but slightly different as she was slightly younger than them all.
the zombies were still crowded outside your room, so you had no way of getting back out and finding the rest of nam-ra’s group, but she told you that she wasn’t that worried about it as she had at least someone with her.
as it started to get dark, you found two cans of some kind of food before walking back to nam-ra with the two in hand.
“not the best, but its as good as I can do” you smile sympathetically at her.
“its fine, truth be told i haven’t eaten in a couple of days, so i would eat anything” she smiles up at you as you hold a can out to her.
you both ate in silence, the only sound being the zombies outside.
when you had both finished eating, you carefully took the cans and placed them with the other empty ones you had already eaten. making sure the doors were secured and no zombies could get it, you sat with nam-ra again.
“you should sleep” you said softly as you saw her tired expression. “you’re injured after all” she only nodded in response, figuring it was the best you could get, you turned your attention to the door.
not long later, you found yourself watching nam-ra, who was sleeping on your shoulder, her head had fallen there when she started to drift off. you hadn’t realised until now how utterly gorgeous she was. you also didn’t realise you were starting to fall asleep until your head layed on top of nam-ra’s and you both fell into a peaceful sleep.
you awoke what felt like hours later as a zombie had fell onto the door, but the barricade kept the door closed. you felt nam-ra’s head lift from your shoulder, you had supposed she had maybe woken up from the noise, so you looked down at her, not realising how close her face was to yours as she looked up at you.
you felt her breath fan across your face as your faces neared eachother. you just about heard her breath hitch over the drum of your heart getting louder and louder with each passing second.
“can i kiss you?” you whisper, your lips practically touching hers.
there was silence for a beat, then another beat, and another. but she replied. if you weren’t listening so intently then you definitely would have missed it. but somewhere between your mingled breathes and pounding heartbeat, a small “yes” came from nam-ra’s soft plush pink lips.
there was absolutely no time wasted in crashing your lips to hers in a needy kiss. your heart was in your throat as she kissed you back. what was going on? you had been with girls before and not grown too attached, but right now? right now you were acting like a fucking schoolgirl with a petty fucking crush. you felt like kicking your legs and giggling. but you didn’t, you glued your hands to each of her cheeks as she clambered onto your lap, resting her hands on your shoulders as she straddled you.
she moaned into your mouth, which you took the opportunity to slip your tongue into her mouth, earning another small whimper from the girl who was now grinding down onto your lap. you rolled your hips into hers, creating the most delicious friction. you felt heat rush down to your core, your clit starting to pulse with need. you could also feel the growing wet patch in man-ra’s panties as she continued to grind against you.
you pulled away and looked up at her through your lashes.
“have you ever done this before?” you asked softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“yeah…” she answered, but you sensed a but.
“but?” you prompted her.
“but never with a girl” she admitted, you smiled softly at her.
“you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to” you said, stroking her cheek softly with your thumb.
“no… i want to, can we just take it slow for now?” she asked softly, looking down.
you gently hooked your finger under her chin and lifted her face so she was looking at you again. she searched your eyes for a few seconds before you spoke.
“of course we can, you just need to tell me if it gets too much, yeah? safe word is red” you waited for her to nod softly before attaching her lips back to yours in a somewhat softer kiss. it was still hungry and frantic.
you unbuttoned her school shirt and lifted it off of her shoulders, taking in her almost bare form before reaching behind her and unclasping her bra, throwing it god knows where in the room. you instantly attached one of your lips to her right tit, massaging the other with your free hand as you grasped her hip with the other to keep her in place as you sucked and lapped at her hardened nipple.
not long later, you swapped over to the other side and repeated the same process. nipping, sucking and licking at her nipple and massaging her other tit.
you hadn’t realised until nam-ra had tugged your blouse off of your shoulders that she had unbuttoned it while you were so busy engrossed in her tits that you saw nothing. she then reached behind you and unclasped your bra so you were both bare chested. you flipped yourselves around so she was sat propped up against the wall and you were sat in-between her legs, tugging at her panties with your bottom lip drawn between your top teeth. you moaned softly when she was fully exposed you, you tugged her skirt down so she was now fully naked in front of you.
when you stared for a minute too long, man-ra’s face flushed a deep shade of red as she turned over to cover herself. you instantly pinned her down on the floor, pinning her wrists either side of her body as you looked down at her.
“don’t do that baby” you whispered softly.
“do you… not like my body?” she asked hesitantly, your gaze softened entirely as you captured her lips in a soft kiss, savouring her sweet taste.
“baby i love your body” you said once you had pulled away. “you are so fucking gorgeous and never forget that” you added, she nodded.
you kissed her once again, but it was only brief as you began to kiss down her neck, leaving small nips and bites as you travelled down, kissing in-between her breasts and then down to her stomach. when you got in-between her legs, you spread them softly with your hands and licked your lips slightly before diving in.
but before your mouth could come into contact with her sweet-looking pussy, she pushed your head back. you looked up at her and gave her a questioning look.
“i’ve never… no one’s ever…” she cut herself off, but you knew exactly what she meant, you gave her a soft smile.
“no one’s ever eaten you out before, baby?” you ask, your voice velvety soft.
“no” she swallows softly, “my last boyfriend only used me, he never made me come” the words spilled off of her tongue faster than she could control them.
“never?” you asked, bewildered on how someone could never give nam-ra her own pleasure and only focused on herself. she only shook her head. “well, we don’t have to if you don’t want to” you reassure her.
“no, i’m sure, i want to… i just wanted you to know” she said, her eyes wide.
you nod softly before putting your head back in-between her legs. and this time, when you placed a soft kiss to her pulsing clit, she shuddered. you smirked softly before licking a long stripe up her slit and sucking harshly on her clit.
“taste to good” you mumble against her sopping cunt.
your words must have given her some pleasure and confidence as her hands suddenly travelled down to your hair and tugged softly. you didn’t stop your brutal attack on her clit as you kept sucking and giving it small kisses and licks. your movements were eliciting soft moans and whimpers.
you sensed nam-ra must have been getting close because she started to buck her hips away from your mouth and close her legs, but your arms around her thighs prevented her from moving so far as you pulled her back to your mouth, giving her clit harsher sucks.
you continued your actions for a few more seconds until nam-ra’s body tensed. her back arched and threw her head back, her eyes rolled to the back of her head. you looked up at her through your lashes, watching her face intently as a cry fell from her lips. liquid came from her pussy as you tried to lap up all of her juices.
you sat up and wiped her juices from your chin, looking down at her with a soft smirk on your lips.
“how do you feel?” you asked, looking down at her drunken expression.
“good. so good. what happened?” looked up at you.
“you squirted baby” you stated, your smirk turning into a smile.
“is that a good thing?”
“it just means you’re enjoying yourself” you explained, “do you want to continue, or do you want to stop?”
“what’s the next thing?” she sits up.
“scissoring. its where you rub your clits together to make friction. we don’t have to if you don’t want to”
she nodded eagerly, you smiled and brought her chin to yours as she unzipped your pencil skirt. you tugged it down your legs, your panties following not far behind, never breaking the kiss.
you easily positioned yourselves so that your clits were touching. you started rubbing yourself against her clit, she bucked her hips at the overstimulation. you held her in place as you continued to rub your clit against hers.
you were both moaning out, the zombies outside banging against the doors at the sound, but you both paid no mind and continued your actions, your bodies slick with sweat as you grinded your hips down onto hers. nam-ra helped by bucking her hips upwards to meet yours.
not long later, you began to feel the knot tighten in your stomach, signifying that you were close to the edge. by the frantic look in nam-ra’s eyes, she was beginning to reach the edge aswell.
“come with me baby, come with me” you say as your orgasm got close.
you moaned out, keeping your eyes open to see nam-ra’s face as she came, you came almost straight after, continuing to rub your clits together to ride yourselves out of your highs.
after you had both come down from your highs, nam-ra was straight on your lap, hugging you close. her eyes were barely open as she did so.
“you tired, baby?” you whisper to her, rocking her backwards and forwards before moving yourself so you were sat against the wall. by the time you looked down again, nam-ra was fast asleep on your shoulder.

I was wondering why Perrin had this deep connection to Faile so fast but then I remembered 2 things 1 Jacob with his imprinting thing what if he has that and 2 ofc they cb each time and are in love with the same person in every lifetime so she’s his soulmate
in each turn of the wheel why their connection felt so natural and easy almost no work bc it’s always them in every lifetime bitch now I’m actually crying! I wasn’t sure if they have same parents each turn of the wheel but this just sealed it for me why they are so THEM
he was already worried about her, didn’t want her joining in the camp and fact he didnt even flinch that this random girl he’s know for like 3days had a knife to his throat and her ready to go fight next to him! Yeah they really that IT couple in the books and the show
How are they outdoing nynaeve and lan just like that as the best ship on this show and books! lan nyn get off the floor please you embarrassing me and the kids! Joking but it’s crazy they are already on nyn/lan level of superior ships in this show this is day2 on the job too

she didn’t flinch either his hand flew past her face and she got tiny face too and his hand is so big! I can’t with them! also love how mr im no leader they don’t follow just have the most powerful warriors Aiel woman and aes sedai follow his every word sir i thought you said
you wasn’t a leader then what is this the commands coming so easily and why are they following without hesitation? to save your family people that they’ve never met? gonna need this giant himbo (he’s very smart strategic guess simbo is better fit for him)to be fr!
last time I checked he wasn’t the dragon so they have no obligation to him or risk their own lives to him alanna maksim just met him Faile too! Loial and Aiel girls that’s their bestie they know he’ll do it fit them without a second thought so they respect him an people like that
Alanna was so bada88 here #TheWheelOfTimeSeason3 exactly girly tell him damn you prime won’t let me show the picture so it’s just black not that it’s much different from the actual scene! but here’s the words! still equal badass she really becoming my fav always loved her but now

the enemies to lovers excellence they could’ve had if his soulmate was right there and if dain didn’t do that to mats mom😔! A shame cuz this actually real fantasy enemies to lovers the whole trying to k1ll each other thing is where its at PEAK the angst spanding years continents
Faile the woman you are, (I love you what who said that?) so badass your fighting skills on pair with Aiel woman beating 4 men all by your tiny self and knives 🔪 marry me leave Perrin #TheWheelOfTime he’s just a man (the finest of them all but still nonetheless less a man) so…
Maksim Faile seeing the people they love almost getting ended and jumping in to save them and k1ll them all exactly we love a good duo!
Perrin making his axe with his boo and not her becoming a blacksmith before me that’s crazy cuz I’ve been googling trying to learn what that is and what they do so I could be one me literally a or so week back! Searching if we have one here #TheWheelOfTime how she already one?😭

Poor Perrin he gonna k1ll himself for what happened to Natti after he said no one was getting hurt (I just know now he won’t take the leadership position even more bc of what happened one time he did)😔hasn’t he suffered enough and has to tell Mat it’ll k1ll them both!
Perrin always saving and getting people out of cages oh the man he is! #wheeloftime and hope Mat stays safe but I doubt it (poor guy thinking he’s safe with nyn for sh*t to hit him on top of his mom being) why it gotta be them 😔 how is gonna be able to tell him trough a letter
It’s still taking me out how Faile screamed No they are soulmates damn! Probably look for each other in every lifetime! cuz if a giantic man with such eyes was in my face and his hand went by me I would’ve at least flinched (granted hes gorgeous man those are so pretty but still)

hehe my take on gelphie, specifically for the wicked movie /(2024) hehe is that Elphaba had a healthy little crush on Galinda in the beginning of their friendship— which was why she was so shocked when Galinda shared that she planned on marrying Fiyero one day— but then as they got more involved in each others lives, Elphaba let her crush go and decided to focus her energy on appreciating Galinda’s friendship. so that will also add a layer of distress when she sort of falls head over heels for Fiyero, bc she literally overcame feelings already to preserve her friendship with Galinda,. The things is, Fiyero is so out of nowhere, where they have mutual interest but not that solid groundwork of friendship, that Elphaba doesn’t really have anything to translate it to, so she’s sort of drowned by these feelings. (So like, giving strong lacy by Olivia Rodrigo, when she sings I’m not that girl bc she does find those aspects of Galinda appealing, but it’s no longer her resisting that and it’s fully her regretting that she has no actual shot again— her interpretation— and wishing she were the sort of person who could be loved and chosen back.)
also, other thoughts I had, was that when Elphaba zapped everyone to sleep except for Fiyero to save the cub, I think it was more like a subconscious, magic-driven thing. She chose the person who would break societal expectations to help her, and she did it without even knowing ot. bc remember she was a bit caught off guard by what her magic did and she was even more so when Fiyero dashed to save the creature. at the end of the day she knows Galinda, knows that she likes being popular and beloved, knows that she sort of needs it to go on being happy and fulfilled. She knows this in some deep level and that’s why she doesn’t turn to her in crisis, despite her undoubtedly being much closer to her than anyone else in the room (except was nessarose there? even then, nessa was always troubled and was outwardly burdened by her sister’s peculiarities) . and I think the reason she chose Fiyero, or her magic did, or he subconscious did, was bc at some level she knew he matched her freak (hehe excuse me) and that he did have a bleeding heart. She sensed that he had more to offer and trusted that possibility rather than the more real chance that Galinda would panic and hinder the cubs rescue, something she wanted to do and hadn’t even planned or thought of yet. but, see, Fiyero did. The second he caught on to what happened, he dashed.
The point is, Elphaba loved Galinda bc Galinda chose her and tried to give her what she always wanted. Popularity, credibility, a community where she was supported and loved and respected. Even more, accepted. And ofc she fell for the other Galinda quirks.
But when Elphaba came to the conclusion that she shouldn’t dream too far, she found true comfort and joy in Galinda friendship.
And when Elphaba made to run away from all of Oz, to live as an outlaw, obviously Galinda wasn’t going to go with her. It’s entirely in her character to want to be on the ‘good side’ of the people, even if it’s the wicked one. She didnt have Fiyeros conviction, athat not the poiny of her character, even if she had run off with Elphaba,, there’s a very real chance she would have resented Elphaba almost immediately or tried to return back to Oz. And that’s understandable bc forsaking an entire hirtosy and land for someone is an insane thing to do.
Something only Fiyero would do.
Anyways, this is a gelphie post so I’m gonna talk about Galinda in all of this. Even tho in my fic I wrote her to be self aware, I genuinely see Galinda as sort of not absorbing all her feelings for Elphaba. They are there and she knows they are importancy and valuable but she doesn’t pick at ot and try and make sense of it. Bc, in her head, if everything stays the same, she could have it all, the prince she always dreamed of, and the person she cherished above all else right within reach. In her mind, everything was going to work itself out so nothing was a problem. So, when Fiyero starts to pull away, when Elphaba seems drawn to him, and when Elphaba eventually tries to run away and take Galinda with her— Galinda freezes. She sort of tries to work with what’s left, her status, her relationship with Fiyero, and she’s trying to reassemble the perfect life she should have had, and she’s absolutely miserable, and every time she gets an opportunity to near Elphaba she takes it. She’d take it in any capacity likely.
Bc she might blame Elphaba for being difficult and not staying or choosing her, but ultimately Galinda has pushed her boundaries and challenged her own worldview for Elphaba without Elphaba asking. Like at the dance scene, where her guilt and sudden understanding of her rival/roommate moved her to risk it all— tho maybe she consoled herself later and dismissed it, claiming her popularity was never at risk— to try and comfort Elphaba and bridge the gap properly, finally. And later, when she changed her name to Glinda, it’s was bc she felt left out, like she needed to prove herself, like the people she had chosen for herself were moving on without her, amd so she made a flashy bid to catch up. And, also, think, briefly, about how absolutely devastating it must be to be so goddamn ambitious and be constantly besides the most powerful witch around. Galinda may have assured herself that her popularity would carry her through, but truly, you don’t see her ego or pride flare up much if at all around Elphaba, fully embracing that they had different strengths, and well Glinda did say that the greatest ppl weren’t necessarily competent but rather popular (wicked foreshadowing and cruelest of ironies) so that likely helped her a bunch. Ok, so, also, think about how instead of retreating or hiding or running off, when everything went to whit with the guards and flying monkeys chasing Elphaba, she followed Elphaba. Like there never really was a choice.
That just sort of shows, there was so many missed calls, so many almosts.
Glinda was tempted to go with Elphaba. She almost did— hence their duet.
Galinda could have won Elphaba’s heart, she had it, but she fell in love too late and recognized was too late. They could have been in love, it almost overlapped.
Galinda is the type of person who Elphaba could love, but not in those circumstances. It was almost perfect. Like actually, roommates, rivals, best friends, crazy codependent, opposites, they literally could have had it all. And they almost did.
But at the end of the day, Glinda wasn’t ready and Fiyero was fucking ready to go, and Elphaba had already dismissed the possibility of romance between the two of them (gelphie I mean) bc it had seemed impossible. And as much as it almost was, they never could be. Not in those circumstances, not the way it unraveled.
anywhas, this was a very long little rant to tell you I have two fics in the work for them, one that is Elphaba centric (w/ her being oblivious and trying to hold onto Galinda’s friendship) and one where they have doomed hanahaki, but Elphaba has it first and is encouraged by Madam Morrible to kill it (bc she can’t risk the star student, ofc, no nefarious reasons…lol) wnd after she removes that and all her romantic feelings, Galinda gets it shortly after when Elphaba leaves Oz and she’s just choking on all the love, waiting for the opportunity to get Elphaba alone so she can confess, make her stay and such, but then she finds out that Fiyeor and Elphaba are in love and she is forced to rid herself of the love, and so when she tells aelphabas story’, there is a cavity where all the romantic love was and she’s mourning that AND Elphaba and it’s so sad
anyways, they’re Lana Del Rey coded. look at:
‘If you dance, I’ll dance’
‘No remedy for memory’
‘Say yes to heaven, say yes to me’
‘And as all the years go by, the other woman will always spend her life alone’
‘But if you hold me without hurting me
You'll be the first who ever did’
(Hehe anyways I only used this website for one lyric but it’s so funny how they read my mind— shh don’t correct me)

thanks for explaining what is considered short character thoughts!! I really appreciate it :)) sooo uhmmm.. remember when one of affogato cookies disciples mentioned something about a Licorce gods/spirits or something? I don't remember which one it was- but how would the dark cacaoian cookies react to reader being that licorice sea god/spirit? And they, like, turn into stone when sun comes up? Or when they use over the maximum of their powers? Btw by dark cacaoian cookies I mean like the main ones like dark cacao, affogato..yk, right? And maybe sea fairy cookies reaction to readers relationship with them bc I feel like reader and her would be related if they were like a licorice sea god/spirit.. this isnt as short as I thought it would be- preferably seperatly, I hope this counts as a short character thought though because I'm obsessed with this concept.. Anyway, make sure to eat, sleep, and don't overwork yourself! Take care of yourself and take your time!! If this doesn't count as a short character thought then I'm sorry and I can also wait until requests are open again! Or maybe I'm just overthinking this-
nah ur fine dw!!! sorry for taking a bit to get to this!!! ^_^
didnt get to go too crazy with these bc i didnt want them to get too long, but i honestly think this concept is super interesting! if you want a full fic of this concept feel free to send a request when they open up again!
the rest are under the cut bc it got pretty long anyways, lol
———————
dark cacao cookie would be wary of you at first. he already shows no mercy for any of the licorice monsters who dared climb the kingdom’s wall, but now seeing a licorice monster that resembles a cookie was definitely something else. not only that, but he’s once again confused when you see you’re very weak, nor even aggressive. he tends to see you wander around the kingdom carefree at dark, only retreating back to the licorice sea when the sun begins to come back up. for now, he’ll leave you be, but just know he’ll always keep an eye on you.
affogato cookie is as always, intrigued. he would immediately try to think of ways to find out more about you, find out how he could use your powers to his own advantage. he sees you strolling the kingdom at night by your lonesome, and he ends up approaching you. he immediately begins buttering you up as much as you can, complimenting and manipulating you in order to gain your power. once he has you, he acts as if he cares for you; giving you a room with covered windows so the sunlight wouldn’t bother you. but in the end, he truly has only selfish motivations.
your first time meeting caramel arrow cookie wasn’t really what you would want when you’re first introduced to someone. unless you like someone pointing their bow at your throat, then yeah. she keeps you still, the string of the bow pulled back ready to shoot you. she’s completely focused on you, waiting for you to make any kind of movement that could be threatening. but you don’t make any other movements, other than raising your hands up in surrender. she huffs, lowering her bow but keeping her guard up. she decides that the king would know what to do with you.
crunchy chip cookie first encountered you when you were wandering around the snowy forests after dark. he was first alerted when he saw his cream wolves run off barking at movement somewhere deep in the forest, only to find you hiding in a tree while the cream wolves kept barking and scratching at the bark to get to you. he immediately prepares to fight, brandishing his claw hand to show that he’s armed. you swear you mean no harm, that you were just frightened from the barking, but he doesn’t buy your story on bit. better start talking, intruder!
sea fairy cookie is the one kindest to you out of everyone. she treats you as her own family, spending time with you as much as she can. she hides you from the sun, knowing it could injure you and turn your entire body into stone within a matter of seconds whenever you’re exposed to even a little bit of sunlight. because you’re only active during the night time, you’ve come to know and love moonlight cookie as well. these two are like family to you, and even if you come from a darker part of the sea, they still love you equally.

hell of a summer thoughts (spoilers)
- happy to say it wasn’t bad, sad to say it wasn’t much better than mid
-it just wasn’t really funny enough for me. The vibes, the setups the characters were all pretty funny and interesting, it’s just most of the actual jokes didn’t land. Obviously not talking about that one at the end that was impossible not to laugh at.
- it felt unfair that Bobby and Chris survived but I’m happy they did. They were great characters
- I kind of wish we explored other characters more. I’m happy with what we got with Chris Bobby and Jason but the main girl needed a little more in my opinion and so did Shannon. I also would’ve loved to have a bit more depth to the theater kid.
- I hate to say it but it’s not a good look that the main guys have great characters but the main girls are a little flat. It’s not a huge discrepancy but it’s noticeable. Practice writing women pls.
- Imo you need to reward the characters who survive longer with more characterization to make the audience more invested. I get they were going for a “they just get worse” but I feel like you can do that while still getting us invested—I mean they did pull that off with Bobby. It felt kind of random who did and didn’t get more depth and that was kind of frustrating bc I was trying to connect to the characters with more screen time and sometimes I literally couldn’t
- the reveal was alright. It wasn’t an “oh my god that makes so much sense!!” and it wasn’t super funny but it worked.
- I DIDNT EXPECT THE HOMOEROTIC BOBBYCHRIS FRIENDSHIP BUT IM SO HERE FOR IT. Bobby being gay made so much sense I wasn’t expecting it going in but it made the movie twice as interesting. Also i wholeheartedly think Chris likes Shannon more (as he should) but he’s not straight he’s 1000000% bi but I don’t think he knows it yet.
- I think Chris x Shannon is better because Chris and especially Shannon can do so much better than Bobby however with the ending I can also be convinced of a throuple if you make Bobby a little better or Shannon a little worse
- the Jason x the girl (Claire?) were cute I just wish we got to know her a little more other than she’s nice to Jason. (Developing her & Shannon’s friendship could’ve fixed both of their problems tbh. Why were they talking about Shannon having sex at all if they were gonna spend the rest of the movie barely knowing each other??)
- visually it looked amazing.
- I’m still thinking about the vibes. I adored the vibes.
- actually watching it I didn’t think it was That great but the fact I can’t stop thinking about it is a huge plus I think I’m starting to like it more.
- I was gonna write a hot take about Chris’s only real flaw being that he’s willing to go along with Bobby and not ever call him out or even question him then I remembered that’s literally the point that’s not an idea that’s the story. But yeah I liked it. I liked his character.
- I don’t think it’s a bad first big film tbh it would’ve been golden if it was just funnier
I will be rewatching but I won’t be going back to the theater for it. Tbh the main thing I wanted was characters I would want to talk about and consume/create content about and I got my wish so I’m not disappointed.

how was the drive in scene w dally and then pony and johnny? any differences between the cherries/things that stood out? also how was anna as bev !
drive in: dally stood out to me this performance overall he just seemed like he was having sooo much fun teasing/being chaotic at the drive in specifically his “cherryyy hey cherrrrryyy” were soooo funny. w mel!cherry idk if it was just me but she was giving annoyed but slightly into him?? like the get lost hood wasn’t vicious it was just like ughh bro go awayy haha jk unless idk if that was just me but that was the vibe also when she threw the drink josh boone was griiiiiinning like he didn’t seem embarrassed or anything like dally was into it lol they had great chemistry tbh
pony and johnny didnt really do anything out of the ordinary during the drive in
as an overall cherry difference i talked a bit on this before but mel’s cherry speaking voice is sooo low and grounded & it made her have a more somber sad on the inside but hiding it quality that i hadn’t seen much of in other cherrys!!
OMG anna’s bev was a BITCH & i LOVED IT anytime i was looking at her she was pouting or rolling her eyes she was giving tiny horrible chihuahua vibes ngl it worked SO WELL and made her burning two bit so in character(i remember when i saw it in july i was shocked at mels!bev doing that bc shed been so lovey dovey at the drive in /passively mean girl) but not anna like she was giving used to be a greaser but now is a soc or smth vibes her energy was scrappy ughhh i loooved watching her
