"Just introduce me to her. Please," whined Soonyoung for the nth time that week.
"I already said no! Just go talk to her yourself like a normal person," rebutted Seungkwan, attempting but failing at disregarding his insistent friend.
"He can't do that. Last time they made eye contact he ran to hide behind Mingyu," snickered Jeonghan, invested in this conversation whenever it was brought up.
"I just need you to get the ball rolling. Please, Kwan-ah," he pleaded as he got up in Seungkwan's personal space – a thing everyone knew not to do.
Rolling his eyes, he sighed, "She already knows who you are, you know. There's no need to introduce you," he muttered under his breath.
"Wait, what. She does? Like knows knows me? Or just knows of Hoshi of Seventeen?", his eyes widened in shock, grabbing onto Seungkwan's shoulders to get his full attention.
"She knows Kwon Soonyoung, dumbass. She's one of my closest friends, why wouldn't she know of you?", he grumbled, attempting to shake off his friend.
Soonyoung sighed at the short-lived hope he had of you having maybe taken an interest to him and brought him up in conversation with Seungkwan, just to have confirmation (yet again) of you simply knowing him as Seungkwan's groupmate.
It had been two, no, three years since Soonyoung had first developed a special interest in you. Thinking back to when Pledis was first acquired by Hybe, Soonyoung still remembered the first time he saw you in person very vividly.
Instantly, he developed a crush on you from the very first glance, only falling further any time you'd cross paths in the building.
He had known of your existence before that, of course, but had never truly acknowledged his obvious crush on you until he first met you in person.
Unfortunately for Soonyoung, he was far too shy and introverted to ever actually engage in conversation with you, much less slide his way into your life the way Seungkwan so easily had – Seungkwan, who had become one of your closest friends. On the contrary, Soonyoung would actively go out of his way to avoid you, never even so much as making eye contact whenever Seungkwan would bring you around.
It was easy for him to become the mockery of the members due to this. Leave it to him to have his years-long crush become best friends with one of his best friends, leading him to your constant, nerve-wracking proximity.
At some point he decided that maybe he should break out of his shell – the shell he had created specifically to shield himself from his feelings for you. He decided that instead of avoiding you, he'd do the next best thing ... which was to ask Seungkwan to officially re-introduce you to each other.
You were blissfully unaware of Soonyoung's crush, he knew that much. Did you know of his existence? Barely, as you'd only interacted a handful of times, with those always being brief and impersonal interactions. This gave Soonyoung the perfect opportunity to start brand new with you. Except he'd need the help of his most extroverted friend, who just so happened to be your best friend.
After begging Seungkwan to please work his social butterfly magic on him, he found himself unsuccessful. Seungkwan would merely scoff and tell him to grow up, leading Soonyoung to be mocked by one of the other eleven members, and then the cycle would repeat. Currently, it was Jeonghan's turn to snicker at Soonyoung's misery, it seemed.
Taking note of Soonyoung's pouty lips and saddened demeanor, Jeonghan took pity on him and clapped his hands decisively before speaking up again.
"Okay, how about you let Hoshining here take your place in doing the TikTok challenge for maestro with Y/N? If they hit it off, then you've done your due diligence, and if not, Soonie can just go get fucked. Everybody wins," he suggested as he shrugged at Seungkwan.
Soonyoung lit up at this, choosing to completely disregard the last two sentences of his suggestion. This was more than enough for him to get the ball rolling.
Immediately joining in on the plan, he turned to Seungkwan once more, ready to beg again.
"Don't say anything," Seungkwan shushed him with a lift of his finger, opposite hand now digging into his temple in what Soonyoung hoped to simply be exaggerated annoyance, "I'll do it, just, please grant me twenty minutes of silence," he pleaded.
That worked well enough for Soonyoung.

Coming back home on Friday after whole week of working your ass off really feels like a walk of shame. You feel like everyone passing by can tell how awfully you did at your workplace today. And they wouldn't be wrong, the amount of scolds your boss threw in your direction through past few days is worryingly numerous.
Whether it was missing out on paper work your boss asked you to do for him, because you were so sure the deadline was set on the day after, or accidentially knocking off of your desk whole cup of hot, sweetened tea that later on you had to scrap off of the covering, under the strict eye of the middle aged man that scared you so much. Especially with the amount of misfortune that chased after you lately, like it was glued to you.
Cringe makes its way to your face. You're shuffling your way to your apartment, not really in a hurry, feet lazily dragged after you as you didn't even have any strenght to properly lift them off the ground. You most likely look like you've been partying for at least three nights in a row, but you can't find it in yourself to care about it. Not now.
Seeing the building in which your apartment is placed have never felt so relieving and you can feel your legs giving up under your weight just at the thought of splashing on the bed and dozing off. Vision of passing out on the sidewalk doesn't seem appealing to you, so you rush yourself to the door, typing entrance code and walking into the elevator, stairs not even crossing your mind. Your tired body slumps itself against the wall as you patiently wait to get to the 6th floor, finding relief in having something to support yourself on. Finally getting to the door you can't help but feel excited, tapping your feet happily just at the thought of making up every hour of sleep you've missed this week because of your busy schedule. You slide the door open and the very first thing reaching your ears is eager meowing, three fur balls appearing at the entrance immediately. You can't help but smile, kneeling to give each of them gentle head pat before taking off the coat and shoes. This truly felt like a bliss, like you've just slid off a bag of stones off your back. Sigh leaves your mouth, heading to the kitchen you turn on the kettle as your tea craving grows with every second. Soonie appears next to you, sitting at the table just across from you. You've grown so friendly with your roommate's Minho's cats that neither you nor him have any problem with kitties occupying places people normally wouldn't let them sit on.
Then you freeze for a second.
You look at Soonie.
Soonie looks at you.
Your brows furrow and the cat goes back to whatever he was doing previously.
Fuck.
Minho is coming home today. He's been away for past five days due to his business trip, that was probably exhaustion fogging your mind enough to forget about this. He's coming back today. And your apartment looks like a bomb has been detonated right in the middle of it all. You can't risk him seeing how messy you got, Minho is always the one to put stuff at the right place, making his bed no matter in how much of a hurry he's in, always the one to do the dishes and basically make everything look perfect. You can't see him disappointed in you for such an easy thing, he'll think you don't even gather your life together. Not like you do, but it's nothing in his business, you shouldn't become another one of his problems. He's just your roommate and the only thing you share and should take care of is apartment that is now in complete mess. You can blame it on your lack of time, barely spending any time at your place recently, but that won't help in current situation.
Quick glance at the time, 4:23 pm, you reach out for your phone to scroll up the conversation with your friend to make sure how fast you have to act.
He's back in town at 5 pm. Could this possibly get any worse?
You scold yourself internally for letting this whole situation happen. But you don't have time to think about this now, and as you turn off the kettle you speedrun to the livingroom, gathering scattered clothes from all around the place. You blame it on Monday when you got up so late you didn't even have time for brushing your hair and of course, the shirt you were looking for was nowhere to be found. Out of all things, it was the one you needed that day.
Then you pick up empty cans of soda, bottles of water and cups of coffee from the table and quickly throw them into the dishwasher. You blame it on Tuesday, the night you realised you have to write that fucking paperwork you got scolded for missing on Monday. So you sat there for hours, head empty, taking breaks only when your tired tears started wetting your pages, scared that all your miserable efforts will be ruined.
Rushing to Minho's room you pick up blanket and pillows from his floor. You blame it on Wednesday, the day you were already on the edge of breaking down and giving up on your job. Even though the boy is only a roommate for you, you've grown so used to his presence you started finding peace in it. Even after the worst day you knew that someone will always be there waiting at your apartment to serve you cup of hot chocolate and bowl of ramen, to take your turn of folding laundry or just listen to how appaling your day was. But he wasn't home and it left you all to yourself which was never the best idea. So, seeking for at least tiny bit of comfort, you slept on his floor. That sounds so fucking stupid and weird when you think about it now, but just the aura Minho left in his room made you feel a bit closer to him. Reminds you of every time he invited you over to play some online games for 12 year olds or spill any tea that happened at his work. Though, you never wanted to interfere his private space, so sleeping in his bed didn't even cross your mind. Floor was just sufficient for you, and you let your tears flow that night, just as much as you needed it. You know he would understand. He might seem cold to others, but you know he would. He already unwrapped his side of him to you letting you see that truly, inside, he's softer than anyone you know; It's all for Soonie, Doongie and Dori. They really do get the best of Minho.
Going back to the kitchen, you gather empty boxes of instant ramen, snacks and every ready shop food that you could possibly find at the convenience store. You blame it on the whole week of rushing, not even having time to eat a proper meal. You can feel it down your stomach, body demanding anything that could properly feed it and give it any strenght to function as it should be functioning. Honestly, you can't recall the last time you didn't feel sick. Lump in your throat was your loyal companion since a week ago, constant urge to throw up not leaving your body even when you were falling asleep and you know you'll have to appreciate normal, nutritions food more.
You run around the apartment holding a wet towel, wiping quickly every mirror hung on the walls as you know nothing pisses Minho more than fogged glass. So you try your best to do it carefully, just like he does it. Reaching the last mirror placed in the front hall you eagerly wipe it, aware of your lack of time. Then it all happens at once.
Shitty food, lack of sleep, liters of coffee and ungodly amount of stress feel like kicking in all at once, like it's been gathering in your exhausted body for the whole week just for this one moment that you needed to be fucking careful.
Vision blurry, feet suddently tripping over itself, mind going blank just for a second, but second is enough for you to try holding yourself onto the small table placed right under the mirror and shaking it so hard when sudden thump reach your ears, followed by loud sound of shattered glass. You don't want to look. Because you're fully aware of what just happened. You don't want to look but you do. Eyes landing on the remains of now broken vase, water all over the floor, flowers that were resting inside it now cut in half and completely soaked.
And it was Minho's favourite vase. The first and the last thing he always glanced at when leaving or coming back home, admiring its beauty, pretty patterns, unique shape and the prettiest flowers inside. Flowers that he got for his 25th birthday that passed not so long ago from his dearest best friend Jisung. Flowers that he was so happy to receive, first thing he did after coming home that day was showing them to you, proudly, ranting about how they perfectly suit the room. And you ruined it all.
Your body slides slowly on the wet floor, water soaking your pants on your knees and you support yourself on the palms of your hands not to completely fall into the mess. You feel small pieces of glass ripping open your delicate skin of your hands, small streams of blood making their way to the floor, mixing with spilled water but you couldn't care less. Elbows start to shake under the weight of your body, shoulders tensing and your head falls, your own quiet sobs reaching your ears. It quickly turns into uncotrollable groans and whines, tears now flowing down your face with no end, nose already full, loose hair stick to your now completely soaked cheeks.
And you blame it on yourself. You could seek for anything to put his all on, like your boss, for making you feel useless for not even managing to do your fucking job properly and assigning you more work than anyone else in your department. Or your mother for not teaching you how to manage your time and how to function on your own, her overprotectiveness during your childhood and teenage years showing so often that you never even got any time to learn adult life before stepping into it. But you know it isn't their fault, no matter how hard you try to think that it is. You let yourself into this situation. You let yourself be in the state you're currently in. You didn't try hard enough to make yourself a decent person. There's no one you can blame but you.
Your endless cries must've muffled the sound of door cracking open, eyes reaching only feet of your roommate that was now standing at the entrance. You couldn't look up, even if you wanted to, you couldn't look Minho in the eyes. Not when he's witnessing your failure and the mess you made out of something so dear to him.
Meanwhile Minho stood there, body frozen, gazing at your tiny figure splashed on the floor, shoulders shaking. He doesn't even notice the crashed vase at first, your current state drawing all his attention immediately to you.
He doesn't give himself any time to think much longer about what's happening in his front hall right now, dropping bags he's been holding in his right hand and suitcase on his left and appearing at your side the second after, kneeling by your vulnerable body on the floor.
"Hey, hey.." Minho lightly lays his hand on your shaky back, carefully caressing it to soothe you. "Easy now, I'm here."
The only respond he gets is your dramatic, loud sob ripping out of your heavy chest. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Minho... Is the only thing you could get out of yourself, followed by another set of pretty disgusting, wet cries.
"Are you hurt? Let me see your hand, please," your roommate asked quietly not to scare you after noticing red coloured drops beside your knees. Gently, he took your harmed hands into his and studied small pieces of glass stuck in your skin. "Let's get it cleaned, okay?"
His hand makes its way to your waist and he stands up slowly, careful not to make any sudden moves that could put you in pain. He shuffles you to the bathroom and helps you sit on the toilet seat and starts preparing alcohol and wet towels.
You feel pathetic.
Not only you ruined his special item, something so important and beautiful, but now he has to take care of someone that caused all the damage. You feel helpless once again, like you couldn't do anything fucking right for once. Once.
Your caring roommate starts removing glass shatters from your wound, his tongue sticking out a bit from the corner of his mouth, fully concentrated in his task. He knows that if his hands twitch even a little bit, he might hurt you even more, and let me tell you, his hands are trembling. He can't recall a situation when he saw you in such state.
You always seem tough, tough against any misfortune that meets you. You surely talk to him when you need some shoulder to lay on, about your worse days and he's cautious enough to notice when you're exhausted. But he's never seen you at your breaking point, starting to believe you don't have any. Yet you're here, in front of him, not even being able to speak properly. He can't help but feel kind of relieved at the whole situation knowing that your hard, protective shell cracked a little bit, letting him see something he's never seen in you before. Weakness.
"This might sting a bit," Minho informs you as he presses alcohol soaked paper to your wound. Whimper leaves your mouth at the unpleasant feeling and you hang your head down. He quickly wraps bandage around your hand and clasps it between his warm palms.
"Hey, you don't have to worry about that the hall. I'll take care of it, okay?" He tries to lower himself, kneeling in front of you, so he can get a better glimpse of your puffed face. You shake your head and straighten your back, looking at him with serious expression.
"No." You sniff, "No, I broke it, I broke something so important to you and it's my fault. I'll clean it. I'll buy you a new one, the same one, I promise Minho."
His hands make their way to your back, slowly, eyes remaining on you for any sign of discomfort. When you sneakily lean into the touch, Minho pulls your body entirely towards his, clasping your weak figure into his arms and sways you left and right, wanting to feel your muscles relax in his embrace.
"What's wrong, hm? My roommate senses are tingling," his voice muffles itself by pressing his mouth against your shoulder, "Talk to me, y/n, please?"
"I had the worst week ever here, without you."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
You just shake your head no, holding onto his waist tighter than ever. You feel him nod. His calm aura pulls you in completely, feeling like walking into hot building during snowy, cold winter. Your cheeks warm up, pressing right below his neck, his body warmth transferring itself to you.
"It's lowkey weird." You choke out, coughing right after because of how stuffed your poor throat felt.
"What is?"
"You comforting me while I'm sitting on a toilet seat."
You manage to let out throaty chuckle to light the atmosphere up, however, you can't help the warm stream of tears flowing right after.
"Want to move it to the livingroom?" Minho pulls out of the hug slightly, setting his gaze at your red face again and your eyes make their way to the floor. You still haven't looked him in the eyes, not even once, as you're scared of the wave of guilt that will follow. As if the one you're feeling right now isn't enough. You feel like a child scared to get shouted at by their parents.
Minho crouches down in front of you and you hum in question, brows furrowed. He only gestures with his hand for you to hop onto his back, already positioning your legs on his hips. You groan but don't protest, you know how Minho is and you know fighting him is hopeless. Wrapping your arms around his next securely and glueing your chest onto his back, you melt into the warmth of his body. He stands up, feeling your breath tickling the skin behind his ear and smiling to himself, noticing how it got much steadier than it was before. He leads both of you out the bathroom and again, the sad view of Minho's favourite vase on the floor, not really looking any similar to vase anymore, hits you, shoving another wave of guilt through your nerves. You close your eyes and rest your forehead on your roommate's shoulder.
"I'm truly, so, so sorry Minho. I never meant to do this, I was just trying to make the place look presentable for you and it ended like it always does." the words left your mouth as quiet squeak, taking another deep breath before speaking again; "Yet you still have to clean the mess I did, like you always do. I don't deserve it, I don't deserve you. I failed being your perfect roommate."
"Who said I wanted a perfect roommate?" he asks as you reach your shared couch, carefully laying you on it then sitting by your side, facing you. "You think I'm mad at you, but I'm not. I've broken like five vases in my life and none of this was anything I planned, just like you."
You finally find some strenght in yourself to raise your gaze and lock it at his round, dark eyes. And he's right, no matter how intensively you look into them, you can't find even a tiny bit of anger in them, they sparked with understanding and you find yourself feeling bad at even thinking someone this precious could get so mad at you. They were so pure you could see your ugly, messed up reflection in them. Before you could start thinking about this again, his eyes squinted a little bit as corners of Minho's lips curled upwards in the most beautiful, sincere, affectionate smile you've ever seen. You only realised that his hand was placed on your trembling knee when you felt his fingers caressing it softly, sending warm shiver through your whole body.
"What about the flowers? You loved them..." You turned around to take a glimpse of the mess once again but Minho quickly grabbed your chin with only pads of his fingers and made you look back at him. "I'll take over from here, you get rest now."
Just as he was about to stand up from the couch you grabbed him by his sleeve and almost agressively pulled him right into your arms, crashing in the tightest, breath taking hug as you truly couldn't believe you had him by your side. Just when you thought you crossed his boundaries by that sudden action and started to loose your grip on him, he dragged you right back to him like he was waiting for this moment to happen. His heart pressed to yours, he definitely could tell how fast and heavy its beating right now. Both of yours eyes closed, you just enjoyed this such intimate moment, very first one since you've moved in together. Neither you or him dare to make a move in fear of ruining this beautiful scene.
"Thank you," you murmur into his neck, so quietly you're not even sure he heard it. "only you can endure me as your roommate. How are you not tired of this?" Chuckle leaves your mouth but you quickly tone it out in case he responds, Well, I am actually tired.
"Because you're the only one that can endure me, too." He pulls out of the hug, though he doesn't move too far away, being so close to your face you could feel his minty breath on your nose. "I guess it's just the way things go."
Next thing your brain processes is his perfect lips landing on yours in swift motion. Suprisingly they're not rough, not even a little bit, they're so soft you barely feel them at first. Your heart goes up your throat for a mere second, dropping back down the moment he caress your cheek gently with his warm hand, now covered in the tiniest layer of sweat caused by the adrenaline. When your body finally understands what's going on, you lean into him completely, hand going up on the back of his head, tangling into his soft, dark hair and Minho takes is as a sign to continue, now pressing his lips onto yours with more force, making sure you feel them properly. A sigh of relief leaves both of your mouths and you smile into the kiss. When you eventually just slightly pull away from each other, faces still close, you notice new emotion making its way into his eyes, overtaking the rest as he studies every part of your face carefully. It's love. His eyes are full of love. Its so intense like it just have been freed from his chest after months of hiding in the deepest corners of his heart.
There's still so much you don't know about him and there's so much he doesn't know about you, but the gate has opened now and there's no turning back. You don't know what any of this means yet, but you can think of it tomorrow. Or in a month. Or in a year.
For now it's just you and him. And that's what matters the most in the world.

⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*⋆*・゚⋆*・゚
Being Oikawa Tooru’s little sister meant that you were equally as insufferable as him, debatably even more than him according to Iwaizumi. Iwa wouldn't go as far to say he disliked you, despite you being 2 years younger than Oikawa, the three of you still grew up together and developed a pretty strong bond. Oikawa had his moments, being the seemingly arrogant and egotistical person he is. Iwa was aware Tooru had some issues with his self esteem and was helping him in his own way. But in your case, nothing was backing you up. You really were just a crybaby diva, wailing as her big brother comes to save her. It really didn't start off so bad, after all you were a child who needed guidance and protection. He expected you to just grow out of it, news flash—you didn't.
Now that you're in your first year in Seijoh, he couldn't avoid you at all no matter how hard he tried. Being a headache must be in the genes, I guess. But you weren't worth putting up with, so he just started distancing himself away from you. Sure, sometimes you would barge into the gym, interrupting their practice to go to your doting brother. Which pissed him off, obviously. Though it was hard to tell since he always had a scowl on his face no matter the situation. Oh and by sometimes, he means every single day–unless you were absent or something.
Unfortunately for him, Oikawa wasn’t present today due to getting a nasty cold. Normally he’d make fun of Oikawa, along with the rest of the Seijoh four but he remembers that you’re present and that he would be your temporary savior while your brother is gone. It didn’t help that today in particular was a pretty stressful one, and as if the Gods above cursed him, a bunch of assholes picked on you for being the ‘uglier’ sibling. A bunch of envious little liars.
Naturally, it was your first instinct to go to annoy him. Your muffled cries could already be heard before you've even entered the gym, which made Hajime groan in annoyance as he muttered a random curse under his breath. And as if on cue, the metal door of the gym slides open; unveiling a very much messed up you.
Your mascara all smudged across your pretty face, fat tears staining it. Your subtly pink lips all wobbly as you make your way to Iwaizumi, knowing your brother wasn't here. At this point, this was basically a daily routine for the team, they didn't complain though. You coming in here and taking their captain and or ace meant they had an opportunity to take a break.
“ ‘Zumi! T-they were being so mean to me again, I didn't do anything wrong!” You cry out as you approach the ace with a pout on your face. ‘Pathetic..’ He thinks to himself, you were more than capable enough to defend yourself. (Verbally, at least. Physically is a different story.) “It's not my fault I don't look exactly like Oikawa! And I can't do anything about it, why pick on me for it?!” You continue, wiping away a tear from your glossy eyes.
Hajime couldn't even say anything in response, this wasn't the first time you came to him after someone bullied you for whatever reason. It was a sad thing to happen to you, but did you really have to go to him or your big brother every single time? What if they're not there for you? What will you do then? Still his good conscience couldn't just leave you sobbing like that, your doting brother wouldn't be happy about it.
Placing a rough calloused hand on your trembling shoulder, as an attempt to comfort you he starts speaking. “And what did you say to them after?” He asks, it was a completely normal question, you knew that. But you were used to just..constant coddling, no other questions asked–just instantly tending to you. “I..Nothing? I mean, maybe what they're saying is true..it still hurts though..” You reply, earning a nod from your older brother's friend. You had a point there, but you should still stick up for yourself! You had to learn, plus he didn't want to keep playing as your knight in shining armor when the two of you are pushing your thirties.
“Did you want to say something back to them?” He questions, raising a brow. You could be doing this for shits and giggles for all he knows, maybe this was a plan you and Oikawa had or something. “Well um, kind of?..” Even that answer somehow made sense, coming from a ditz like you–he didn't really expect much. “So can you or can you not defend yourself?” He asked yet again with a gruff voice, watching intently as he saw you shake your head. Okay, cool. You aren't doing this just to piss him off, that's a start.
“I could teach you, if you want to.” You blink once, twice. “Teach me how to..fight for myself?” You never considered it, you were just used to your big brother being there for you. No matter how serious or stupid it was, he’d be there in a flash. He nodded, crossing his arms as you thought about it. Your brother wouldn't always be here, today was proof of it. The same goes for Hajime, who knows where he's going after high school?
“I..think that’ll be nice actually.” And those were the words that started your tutoring sessions. You were incredibly nervous the first few times, like the personification of an earthquake. You did soon manage to get the hang of it, being able to defend yourself against your bullies unless it was really necessary for your brother and or him to step in.
To be honest, Oikawa was pretty opposed to the idea at first. Saying to his best friend that teaching her all of this ‘nonsense’ wasn't needed since he’ll always be there for her anyway. (What Oikawa didn't know is that Iwa was doing future him a favor, I mean–he didn't know he was going to Argentina!)
And so ‘Operation: Teach Y/N How to Defend Herself’ was successful. It had been like years ago at this point, barely remembered by you two like some distant memory. You didn't piss him off that much anymore, though he did have little to no contact with you; only getting updates through Oikawa.
⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*⋆*・゚⋆*・゚
When he went to Irvine, California for personal matters he was aware of you being there as well since you went to visit and stayed at your grandparents. The chances of you two meeting were slim but fate had to play its part too! Now the both of you were sitting side by side, having a cup of ice cream as you catched up on your lives.
He told you about the meeting he just had with Takashi, some stuff about sports science and his personal life and whatnot. While you told him about life here in the States, being taken care of by your overbearing grandparents and stuff. You were a lot more mature than what Hajime had remembered, still a scatterbrain though. Though something comes up, leaving Hajime at some random bench while he taps away on his phone after you exchanged him your number. Saving it and putting in ‘Puny Princess’, it was stupid–he knew it was as he chuckled to himself.
No matter how fully grown you are, you’ll always be that spoiled little brat who seeks her dear knight in shining armor's protection.
⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚⋆*・゚:⋆*⋆*・゚⋆*・゚
He was flying back to Japan soon, and he wanted nothing more but to cancel his flight and stay here–with you. Highschooler Iwaizumi would be laughing his ass off right now, any chance to get away from you was a blessing. He’d get on that plane like he's being chased by the police. He thought about it a lot, was it because you were less of a pain in the ass? Nope, that couldn't be the case because you still were. Sure, you didn't exactly need Prince Charming anymore which made you considerably much more bearable but it felt like there was something more to it. Why won’t life just tell him instead of forcing him to dig through a bunch of dirt in his mind?
Maybe he simply got used to being around you, to be fair–he’s been with you through thick and thin after all. Yup, that's what it was. No need to manually crank the gears in his brain anymore, this was totally it. Would he admit he had a teensy weensy little crush on you when you two were kids? God no, and that doesn't matter! I mean, that was like a decade ago–he doubts that mattered right now in any shape or form.
Well the first stage of grief was denial, he’ll work his way up. You, on the other hand, have fully accepted this stupid happy crush you got on Iwaizumi. Even your big brother knew about it, well you were pretty much an open book. Hey, your brother’s words–not mine. The way your cherubic cheeks would heat up when Hajime helped you up when you got yourself stuck in the mud, it was painstakingly obvious that you had liked him ever since.
You and your big brother had a heart to heart talk about back in middle school actually, it sits there playing constantly at the back of your mind.
It was midnight and Oikawa had come home late, you noticed he had been practicing overtime these days which worried you quite a bit but you knew Hajime was there to keep him grounded. So that's how the two of you ended up at 1AM, your brother silently eating his late cold dinner while you accompanied him.
“Did ‘Zumi practice late with you..?” You questioned, breaking the growing silence in the room. In response, he nodded and let out a dry chuckle. “Mhm, you haven't spoken a word since I got home and when you decide to speak it's about Iwa-chan? Do you not care about your dear big brother anymore?” He asks, dramatically feigning hurt as he places a hand on his chest.
He didn't miss how your lips went and formed a thin line, trying your best not to crack a smile. “Cmon, don't lie to your big brother–you like Iwa, don't you?” He teases, trying to get it out of you like he's sipping the very last drop out of the milk carton. “Maybe just a little..” You mumble, finding it just a little bit embarrassing that out of all the fish in the never ending sea, you manage to have feelings for your brother's best friend. “Hm..well I guess if you were to pick someone to marry I’d honestly prefer Iwa y’know?” You almost choke on your own spit upon hearing his words, blushing furiously. “E-eh?! Marry?! It's too early for that!” You exclaim, while your brother starts laughing like a hyena.
His words were very much true though, he trusted Iwa–so much so that if he had the chance to pick the person you’ll marry, he'd choose Hajime with no hesitation.
You roll around in your soft bed, unable to sleep as Iwaizumi’s face keeps flashing in your mind like a broken record. Wanting nothing more than to scream into your pillow, but your grandparents sleeping soundly in the other room prevented you from doing so. You wondered if you would ever go back to Japan, it seemed like your brother wouldn't after hearing him recently renounce his citizenship but it's not like you were going to follow in his footsteps. You've never felt this homesick before, stupid Iwaizumi–it's his fault for coming here unannounced. You thought your delicate heart moved on from this childish crush of yours after not seeing him in a couple of years, looks like it bounced back after meeting up with him again though..
Well, at least you had some form of communication with him after you gave him your number. That was temporarily enough for you.

hi hi!
i was thinking maybe you could write something carmilla x reader? hear me out on this one, she seems to me like that kind of person to just wrap her hands around their partner wherever they are? like: a meeting? hand on leg. calm evening in the kitchen? hands around our waist. maybe it’s just me but carmilla in my head loves to just touch us showing who we belong to😭 and most of the time it’s not even in a sexual way just… because
anyway! have a good day/night darling!:)
Yes! Those big hands of hers would be the best for cuddling. Just one would cover half of someone's body! A super clingy overlord who's gotta make sure her gf is in her sight and safe at all times 🙏 (not in the unhealthy relationship way)
I write so many different versions of the requests I get, hence why it takes me so long. This is the one out of three I liked the most, so enjoy my dear!
Warnings: Slight mention of nsfw if you squint and just pure fluff!
Tumblr media
Normally Carmilla would find you fast asleep or half awake in the warm comfort of her embrace. Yet sometimes you would slip out from her loving arms and get yourself ready for the day ahead before even she could wake. And it was one of those mornings today. With her eyes still shut tight she blindly reached out in search of your smaller figure. All her hands found was the cold empty side of your bed which made her huff.
"Morning sleepy head" You greeted, glancing at Carmilla through the mirror in front of you.
"Mi amor?" She propped herself up on her elbows groggily. After giving her tired eyes a rub she spotted you sitting at the vanity, styling your hair,"You left me"
You stifled a laugh, you wouldn't be surprised if she was pouting. Whilst you continued to comb through your hair and ignore her childish whine you heard the shuffling of bed sheets followed by footsteps. A moment later you looked up in the mirror, finding Carmilla standing over you. Her arms draped over your shoulders and her chin rested on the crown of your head.
"Carmilla" You sighed, lowering your comb. There was no way you could finish your hair with her head on yours.
"Yes?" She hummed and closed her eyes. Your body was pulled back flush up against her chest. Her entire body weight was being pressed onto you. No offence to her, but she was heavy, you could barely sit upright and by the looks of things she had no plans to get off of you. You were trapped, her hands had you imprisoned, covering your entire torso. Any other time you'd allow her to hold you like this, but unfortunately there wasn't much time for it. A meeting with the other overlords was due in an hour.
"We have a meeting" You remind her and she huffed. She was reluctant to let go, but after thinking things over she kissed you on the head and released you to go on about her morning routine. She made sure to display her displeasure with sighs, groans and slothful movements. Rather than feeling guilty, which was the whole point of this behaviour, it was rather comical. The scowl on her face was just so cute!
Tumblr media
She made sure to hold you close as you went from your bedroom to the boardroom despite her grumpiness. You settled down in your dedicated seat and so did Carmilla, choosing the more comfortable alternative to walking back and forth. She was discreet with the way she touched you, wanting to maintain her professionalism as she presented. Her hand was on your knee at first, rubbing soft circles on it. Then she moved onto your thigh, ever so gently kneading it.
At this point, it was a subconscious action. You never went long without her touch. She always found excuses. Sometimes she didn't even need them.
You listened intently to her and savoured the physical affection you were receiving. Soon your hand crept down under the table and took Carmilla's hand, intertwining your fingers. You caught her lips twitching up from the corner of your eye, a sign you were doing something right. With her hand held you ran your thumb across her palm like you'd usually do when you were alone. You traced the patterns and dips of her skin, making sure to cover the large surface.
Her hands were one of your favourite features. They were large, soothing, warm and...very skilled. You gave every part of it the same amount of attention, not leaving a single bit untouched by the end of the meeting.
Tumblr media
When she finally wrapped the meeting up and watched the door close behind the last attendee she swooped you from your seat. You squeaked in surprise, grasping onto Carmilla as she placed you on the desk.
"We have time to ourselves now, mi amor" She smiled, watching her hands roam your body.
They drifted up and down, from your shoulders to your thighs. You smiled in return and leaned into her neck to kiss it. Carmilla crooned at the sensation of your lips against her skin and titled her head, urging you to continue. It was difficult to believe she was an overlord when she was like this. Such a cuddly sinner beneath that tough facade of hers.
After being with her for some time you realised what the reason behind her being so touchy was. Turns out it brought her a great deal of comfort, knowing you were there and not too far out of reach, that you were safe and sound by her side. It was also a stress reliever if you will. It kept her mind clear of all negative thoughts and was a way to help her concentrate. She also found out you struggled with your words and that you replaced them with featherlight kisses as well as the odd few gifts here and there which she had no complaints about.
"You have such a beautiful body" She uttered, unable to remove her hands from you. She reminded you of this whenever she got the chance, especially if you were having self-doubts. She would cling to you, complimenting every part of you verbally and physically until you admitted it.
"Thank you" Your voice matched her level and hummed when you felt her hands in your hair. You let her touch you freely and melted into her arms, knowing you were in safe hands. There were no lewd intents. If there were she would've acted already, with your permission of course. But no. This spare time was used for fond, loving touches only.

Devil's night [S. R.]
Spencer Reid x fem!reader
word count: 4k
summary: Spencer is excited about his Halloween plans and you join him.
Directly based on episode 6x06, because I felt so bad about how the team behaves with Spencer that I needed to do something
Tumblr media
“I see someone’s feeling spooky today,” Morgan smiled, looking you up and down.
You were wearing a cardigan knitted with various prints related to the time of year; pumpkins, ghosts, black cats, and candy corn, over a bright purple skirt and tall boots. Normally you would dress more formally due to the implied dress code the FBI operated under, but it was the weekend and Halloween was around the corner, so you could skip a suit day to wear one of those many scary-related items you had. After all, Halloween was your favorite holiday of the year. It was fun for everyone when you were a child, but as you grew up, your love for said celebration became a little weirder for others, so when you became an adult, you didn't think anyone shared such excitement about the date. Well, that is until you met Spencer Reid.
“It became a little more commercialized in the 1950s with trick-or-treating, and today it rivals only Christmas in terms of popularity” you heard him say, as he walked in with an already quite annoyed Emily Prentiss.
You knew that sometimes Spencer talked too much, but you hated that the rest of your coworkers got upset like that when he was talking about something that he was passionate about. Now the subject was, clearly, the next date.
"All I asked was what he was doing this weekend" she complained to Rossi. Spencer ignored her and continued with his cathedra as he settled into the empty space next to you.
“I'm toying with the notion of either going to the Edgar Allan Poe Shadow Puppet theater or the re-enactment of the XIX century Phantasmagoria,” he said and your heart did a little skip. You and Reid had argued on a few occasions, outside of work, about Poe’s works and although you didn't know what the second thing he had mentioned was, it sounded very interesting.
“What is a Phantasmagoria?” you asked nicely and when your partner noticed your presence he smiled widely, as if he was just noticing you in the room. The others all pouted in anticipation of the explanation to come and you hoped Spencer hadn't noticed.
“Phantasmagorias are these amazing pre-cinema projected ghost shows invented in France, where the showman attempted to spook the audience using science magic” he explained to you, while he took a seat and waved his hands from side to side. You were completely unaware of the term so you slightly parted your lips in astonishment.
"Sounds interesting"
"I have an extra ticket, do you want to come with me?" he asked you, almost immediately, with the biggest smile of all. Honestly, the invitation took you by surprise, especially who was asking, and Spencer seemed to see it on your face. “I mean, if you don't have plans this weekend. You can say no if you want."
“I'd really love to,” you exclaimed, so he wouldn't get the wrong idea, and watched his eyes sparkle with joy as he nodded.
The others wanted to make fun of it a bit, but Garcia didn't give them time to when she handed you the case files. When Hotch told you that you were going to fly to Detroit, your partner complained loudly and his gaze inevitably went to you, since you were supposed to have made plans together literally three minutes ago, but knowing that the unsub only attacked during these three days of the year. You had no choice but to accept your fate. You have never gone from feeling completely happy to being so disappointed in such a short time.
"I guess you better forget what I just told you," Reid sighed, as you left the conference room.
"Maybe we'll make it on time, when is the show?"
"This Sunday. The puppet theater is at 9:00 pm, the last Phantasmagoria show is at 11:00 pm. None are sold out yet"
"If we get back in time enough, I'll accompany you both, what do you say?" you muttered, trying to be as positive as possible, as you took your friend's arm with both hands and gave it a friendly squeeze. Spencer was taller than you, but thanks to the boots you were wearing and the extra inches they gave you, your eyes were almost at the level of his “Don't be discouraged.”
"I like your clothes today," he suddenly murmured. Sometimes he would give you those kinds of sweet compliments, perhaps as thanks for the kindness with which you always treated him, and you would almost always blush "The drawings are beautiful. Do you know why pumpkins became so representative?"
"Jack-o'-lantern," you replied, rather proud of yourself for knowing the answer.
"But did you know that in the original story it wasn't a pumpkin but a turnip?" he said and you were silent. But he didn't make fun of you for it, instead he saw a new opportunity to impress you "Yeah, you see, in the original legend Stingy Jack..."
The rest of the team, who was in front of you, shared knowing looks as if they were pitying you for having activated the doctor's rambling mode, but the truth was that you were fascinated with every word that came out of his mouth. Sometimes you couldn't believe how there was someone as intelligent in the world as your cute companion and as he spoke you prayed, perhaps with all your might, that you could catch the unsub in time to be able to fulfill the plans in the ones he had included for the weekend.
Tumblr media
Almost as if by divine handiwork, the case was solved just in time for the plane to land and you two to rush home to get dressed for the theater. Hotch was even sympathetic to you and told you that the paperwork could wait for Monday just because he had heard of your plans, which you were immensely grateful for.
Spencer was happy that you agreed to go out with him, especially since the idea of asking you out was completely impulsive. It was true that he had an extra ticket but he never thought of having the courage to ask you to accompany him, much less did he think that you would be interested in it, since he was regularly ignored by his colleagues at work. It was something he had never discussed with anyone, only his beloved and gone Elle, but it haunted him almost every day.
Luckily for him, Spencer had prepared the wardrobe he wanted to wear in advance, and all he had to do was take a warm shower, shave, and put on some cream and cologne to get ready. In addition to, of course, styling his short hair as best he could.
He felt particularly concerned by his appearance that night and he pondered whether you would think he looked silly wearing a 19th century French suit. He had bought it last month and it was stored with his costume collection, which no one on the team knew about yet and he didn't intend for that to change.
He had offered to pick you up and when he got to your building, he felt strangely nervous. The doorman was a kind older man that he had seen a couple of times, so when he said that he was looking for you, the man called you on the phone to let you know.
They were silent for a few moments and he began to rock on his heels to kill some time.
“Will you take her trick-or-treating?” the doorman, Tony, joked. Spencer didn't take it the wrong way, instead he laughed it off.
"It's not the plan, but if someone takes pity on us and gives us some I won't complain" he replied and now it was the employee's turn to laugh.
"I've seen you before, are you her boyfriend?"
“Coworkers,” Spencer clarified, with a smile.
"Ah, so you're also a policeman?" although it wasn't the proper term, Spencer didn't know if you had hidden your real job for personal reasons, so he held back from explaining to the man that you were actually a profiler.
"Yes, something like that"
Tony wanted to ask more questions, but the sound of the elevator caught the attention of both men and revealed your figure.
"No fucking way," you breathed, looking your friend up and down and if he hadn't gone dumbfounded, he probably would have said the same thing "Look at you!"
"Where did you get that?" he asked in amazement. Although Spencer had thought that you would show up in a costume, he hadn't expected to see you like this.
"You don’t like it?"
"No, I love it" he hastened to say, when he heard the insecurity in your voice "It's just… I didn't expect to see you as a 19th-century French lady"
You were wearing a beautiful black dress with lace details that obviously alluded to the fashion of the time, black satin gloves, plus a discreet hat on your well-groomed hair and boots that Reid had seen before, but they made a great combination with the outfit. The man's surprise was because he had invited you with such short notice and yet you had gotten the perfect costume and not only that, but one that conveniently matched his.
“And I didn't expect to see you as a French gentleman either” you laughed, as you reached out to wrap him in a hug "I guess it was pure fate"
“Or the fact that we are going to see a recreation of a 19th-century show. Our brains thought the same thing.”
“It doesn't sound so charming when you say it like that" you complained amused and he realized it was true "Shall we go? I don’t want to be late"
Spencer nodded and immediately offered you his arm to hold onto as you walked, a gesture that made you believe you were really entering a time tunnel.
Enjoy your night”
"Thanks, Tony! Don't scare too many kids and don't eat too much candy,” you waved, blowing him a kiss as you followed Spencer out the door.
He guided you to his car and opened the passenger door for you and then he got in himself to start the engine and get going.
"I really can't believe that we got a couple's costume by pure coincidence"
“Couple costume?”
“Yes, they are those costumes of the same theme that you use with a couple. You know, like the people who dress up as Fred and Daphne or Morticia and Gomez”
Spencer didn't know the last couple, but he did have a vague recollection that the first ones mentioned were from Scooby Doo due to the cartoons he came from as a child.
"Oh" he sighed "Yes, get it”
“Honestly this was a last-minute thing. My downstairs neighbor studies theater and we are good friends, so I asked her if she had anything in her curiosities bag that could help me and she pulled out this dress. It was enough to adjust it a little" you told him, putting both hands on the neck of your dress and smiling from ear to ear "I couldn't believe it, it was really a stroke of luck”
"It looks so pretty on you," he said suddenly, looking away from the road just for a moment to check that you had heard him. "I don't think I told you when I saw you, but that's what I thought."
"Thank you then," you smiled, feeling your cheeks warm a little.
Spencer started talking to you about the creation of puppet theaters and, of course, the Poe stories you were going to witness, with you interrupting him only to point out some decoration along the way that you thought was cute. On Halloween you almost always preferred to stay at home to watch horror movies or go down to the hall to distribute candy to the youngest children, with very discreet costumes to avoid the evil looks of adults. But now you were excited to be doing this with Spencer, who was maybe the only person you knew who wouldn't make fun of you under any circumstances. Your relationship was based on a certain complicity, perhaps more than you had with any member of your unit.
Arriving at the site, he reopened your door and offered you his hand to help you down, which you took without complaining. Once you were outside, he repeated the gesture from when he picked you up from your building and in this way you walked to the entrance, where a woman disguised as who you assumed was Berenice (a Poe character) sold you a couple of tickets.
It was a lovely show and when you weren't looking at the puppets you took the time to admire your companion, whose eyes revealed the emotion of a child. You never thought the doctor was fond of a thing like this and now that you had discovered it you found it quite adorable. As you left you asked him if he was a Muppets fan by any chance and, to your surprise, he was. Spencer even told you that he had a couple of Kermit the Frog items that his mom bought him when he was little, but he also told you not to tell anyone or he'd be embarrassed and you pinky promised him.
You still had an hour between the two shows so you decided to go to a nearby park where there were lots of food stalls: candy apples, popcorn, candy, lemonade, and you even got to one where a Hispanic woman offered you pieces of candied pumpkin. You had to take off your gloves (which he kept carefully in his jacket) when you bought a few pieces of this last one for the two of you and when you tried it you agreed that it was delicious. The woman told you that in Mexico, her country of origin, she always served them to her children with a glass of milk.
Spencer spared no expense just to fulfill all your cravings, even though you refused, so when you got in the car to go to the Phantasmagoria your stomach was pretty full. The place where it would take place was a gray tent in the open air, with a dais in front and several wooden benches arranged so that enough people could fit in. As you had arrived with some time, you took a seat on a bench in the second row and waited patiently for the show to start.
Suddenly all the lights around you went out, leaving only the ones pointing to the front of the stage, and a presenter dressed as a magician appeared.
“For many centuries, wandering spirits have inhabited the world unseen by the human eye, always confined to the world of shadows…” his voice was mesmerizing and kept you on the edge of your seat, watching him carefully “but for a certain time of the year, their magic grows and they are able to cross the barrier that separates us…”
The entire tent was filled with smoke and the audience, including you, looked around trying to figure out what would happen. The presenter continued giving his gloomy monologue and, although you didn’t imagine how, you even felt that the temperature decreased a little with each word he said. Suddenly even the lights that were pointed at him began to dim and by the time he finished explaining to you the whole place was in complete darkness.
There was silence for a moment to build tension and then there was an explosion that made you jump in place. To tell you the truth, you didn't expect much from the show, you thought that being a recreation it would have many shortcomings, but when the first figure appeared on the roof your heart skipped a beat.
You weren't a scared person under normal circumstances and your resistance to the horrifying images you saw at work on a daily basis shows this, but this time perhaps all the environmental components of that night were what made you feel that way. A loud laugh resounded and then another pair of specters appeared, this time flying at the height of the audience and even passing through some of you.
Spencer's reaction was nothing like the rest. Despite his fear of the dark he was totally fascinated by all the images, his mind already working to decipher the magic trick that was being performed. What finally got his breath caught was the feel of your hand searching his. He was still shielding your gloves so he could feel the cool temperature of your fingers, as opposed to how warm he was in comparison. Even knowing that doing that was a reflex act due to fear, he stopped paying attention to the show to look at your hand on top of his, with that noticeable difference in size.
Just as you had admired him during the puppet show, he took the time to observe your expressions now. Your face lit up from time to time by the illusions around you and every time you startled you squeezed his hand harder, in addition to adjusting your body against his as if you were looking for some kind of protection. Spencer had gone out with friends many times and of course with the rest of his female colleagues at work, however none of them had behaved like you were doing. He wasn’t bothered by your behavior, but rather intrigued, since you seemed quite comfortable taking refuge in him to feel safe. Although he knew how to identify qualities in people, he sometimes had a hard time crossing the line of identifying them to really admire them. When he thought of JJ, he thought of a charismatic woman. When he thought of Emily, he thought of intelligence. And when he thought of Penelope, he always saw joy and optimism. But when he thought of you, there were too many qualities to focus on just one: he thought of kindness, calmness, creativity, wit, beauty, empathy... what a big heart you had and how at the end of the day you were perhaps the only one who could make him smile. When he invited you to join him, he did it because he knew you had the same feeling towards scary things, but now that you were there, looking so pretty and holding his hand tightly, he thought maybe there was something else going on between you. You were the closest thing he had to a best friend, though he had never said so verbally, and that night he wanted to be nowhere else but by your side.
Only when the lights came back on did he realize that the spectacle had been forgotten to him, since the whole time he had been looking at you.
“That was all for today, my friends. Thank you for these wonderful performances and remember to recommend us to your friends the next time we're in town. Have a spooky night, all of you."
“I can't believe it, did you see all that? It was just awesome! I didn't think it was going to be this good” you said, completely excited, as you turned in his direction. Apparently you weren't even aware that your hands were clasped until he got up from the seat and helped you imitate him with that grip. Though you thought of apologizing for that, you didn't, fearing to embarrass yourself further.
“It was amazing, even for me it was hard to figure out the trick”
“Why do you want to figure it out? admit it's only magic, doctor. Sometimes life is” you laughed, grabbing his arm for the third time like a happy wife would her husband.
You are something magical, he thought, with the words on the tip of his tongue, but not daring to say them to you.
Although the night was late, the movement in the streets was still the same and Spencer considered asking if you wanted to go somewhere else, but the yawn that escaped you made him think that the best thing for both of us would be to go home to rest. After all, the case had exhausted you.
"Back to your house, right?" he asked, just to be sure and you nodded with a smile.
The road wasn’t long, you only had to take care of the naughty at night so as not to receive any damage, so when you least expected it, you were already in front of your building. Although you intended to say goodbye, Spencer told you that he would accompany you to the door of your apartment just to make sure that you arrived completely safely, because he knew better than anyone how much could happen to a woman alone, even if it was such a short journey, and he didn't want to risk you. Tony was still awake and greeted you nicely as you walked in, so you could then get on the elevator and press the necessary button.
“I seriously have no words to thank you for today, Spencer. Except for that one time I ended up in the hospital for eating so much candy, this has been my best Halloween ever,” you admitted with a laugh, as you leaned in for a big hug.
"Thank you for accompanying me. I'm really glad you had fun, because I had a great time too”
There was a dead space between you, in which you just looked at each other with a smile. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that the night had been wonderful and maybe it was just that you two were trying to drag it out as long as possible.
“Spencer”
"Yeah?"
"Before you go, can I ask you something?"
"Whatever" he responded immediately. He got a little nervous thinking that he wouldn't be able to satisfy your curiosity by ignoring the topic you were going to ask him about and hoped that wasn't the case.
You waited another second before speaking.
"How frowned upon do you think it was for 1800s society for a woman to steal a kiss from her companion?"
Spencer's eyes danced a little in his sockets and you thought he was processing your request in disguise, until he looked at you again and spoke with complete assurance:
“Very frowned upon, surely. At that time, it was usual for men to court women, who were very repressed from making their own decisions or living their sexuality as they pleased. A woman who kissed a man was considered indecent."
You wanted to correct him, tease him or, as a last resort, simply pull him by his shirt and plant the kiss you had wanted to give him all the way. But you didn't do any of that, you just laughed softly and enjoyed his smirk for telling you the right answer.
“I was afraid of that. It's good to know” said this, you carefully approached him and placed a small kiss on his cheek, seeing him slightly surprised by the act “See you tomorrow at work. Call me when you get home”
"I will do that. Rest and see you later"
"Bye”
Just as he said, he called you a few minutes later to announce that he had arrived at his destination so you could sleep peacefully.
Spencer didn't realize that you had explicitly asked for a kiss until Morgan told him and while his friend laughed, he felt like the luckiest guy of all and, at the same time, the dumbest.

Unpacking in the Infirmary
Fem!Reader
Summary: Restock day in the Infirmary has always been important for those who live in the Fortress. Especially with it being that place to go if something were to happen to an inmate or one of the staff members. With the amount of times Wriothesley has gotten hurt over the years, it's not surprising he ended up in there on one of those restock days. Though he didn't think he would also help with unpacking things as well.
Words: 3,039
AN: Once again I wrote a majority of this on my phone. I honestly can't believe how much I've written on my phone this year already. Hopefully, this doesn't become a major habit. Thank you @milkstore for reading over the fic. You caught so many mistakes due to my phone thinking capitalizing mid-sentence is a normal thing to do.
Warnings: Blood, Minor Injuries, Cleaning a wound. I personally wouldn't consider it too detailed but if you find any of that uncomfortable please go check out one of my other Wriothesley fics.
“You two should go take your lunch break already. I ate a late breakfast.” Y/N lifted a box of supplies from the surface and placed it on the table. Restock days had become important for her to be there for. It was easier to have someone who was not a Melusine to do any heavy lifting.
“You look tired. Are you sure you don't want to take a break now?” Sigewinne asked. Although her ask was more of telling her to take a break.
“I'll take a break when you or Ottnit get back. I promise.” She reassured Sigewinne. “Plus if we time breaks right we can get this done fast.”
Ottnit looked at Y/N before looking at Sigewinne. “She has a date.” She guessed.
Y/N rolled her eyes hiding a small smile. “Three days from now.” She answered before giving the real reason. “I promised I'd help my mother move her art studio into her new house after work.”
“It's more reason to take a break. You could have requested someone to take your place today.” Sigewinne reasoned.
“I know but I wouldn't have been able to give you those stickers for another week. It's been pretty peaceful down here lately. Let me have work as an excuse to see you two.” Y/N looked back to the box and grabbed a boxcutter to rid it of tape. “Just go enjoy lunch. You're just delaying how long till I take a break.”
Sigewinne accepted fate not wanting to argue it creating more of the delay. She and Ottnit left the infirmary for lunch. The room was left quiet while Y/N took inventory on the restock.
All the things that needed to be under a lock had been put away already. Next would be anything they kept out in the infirmary that should be easy to grab. Lastly, restocking the various first aid kits that were around the Fortress. Any mobile ones had been brought in already in the morning. The large stationary ones would be the last thing for today or one of the first things in the morning.
It was mindless work to her at this point. Open the box, check the inventory slip in the box, count to see if the amount matches, and mark off on the checkbox of what was requested if it matches. And if it didn’t, make a note. It was always easy to fall into the rhythm of this work.
Though a bit annoying that the monthly restock day had to line up with her mother's art studio move. There really wasn’t much she could do about it since she wanted to be there for both. Say she did request someone else to go down to the fortress instead of her. Y/N could imagine her coworkers on the surface asking if something was wrong with her and Wriothesley’s relationship. And as funny as it was to watch some of the older ladies try and make threats about if he dared hurt her, there really was no reason to rile them up with nothing.
Y/N finished up the box she had been working with. It was just bandages of different sizes. Luckily everything was all in there. She picked the box back up off the table and placed it within the pile of boxes that had already been checked. She picked up a new box, beginning to repeat the process all over again.
She lost count on the box filled with sterilized gloves when she heard the all-so-familiar knock at the wall. It was a firm but gentle knock that echoed throughout the infirmary.
“Hey.” Wriothesley introduced himself as he made his way down into the room. “By any chance is the hydrogen peroxide already out?”
“The current bottle doesn't have a lot in it but it is out. What happened?” Y/N turned away from the box and moved to get out what he asked for along with some cotton balls and bandages, opting for what was already out in the infirmary.
“There was a fight that broke out and I went to break it up. One guy was upset I was breaking up the fight, so he tried taking a knife out on me. I broke a knife. Now the guards got an eye on the two of them.” Wriothesley explained. He was peeling off the blood-soaked wraps that were around his right hand.
Y/N blinked. “You can't say you broke a knife so casually.” It was moments like that where she knew she still wasn't fully used to his behavior. It didn't matter how long she had known him before they began dating, it wasn't normal to hear anyone say they broke a knife in a fight. She moved into washing her hands.
“No, ‘Are you okay’?” He threw the wraps away in a bin that was meant for Anything that came in contact with any sort of bodily fluids. Also known as the bloody cotton and bandages bin to most of the Fortress. All because they were however many miles under the ocean didn't mean they got to skip important procedures to help keep things safe.
Y/N rolled her eyes. “Oh, I'm sorry.” She spoke sarcastically as she dried off her hands. “Your Grace, does your wound cause you great pain? Whatever will I do now that you are gravely injured?”
“Gravely! Shit. It's just some cuts on my palm. Where did you get ‘gravely’ from? It won't kill me.”
“Oh, so you can handle it yourself.” She teased as she pulled gloves on getting ready so she could examine the wound.
“Some nurse you are. I thought going to the infirmary was supposed to be welcoming.”
“That's what you get for asking a pharmacist to be a nurse. I'm nowhere near as welcoming.” She joked. “Go sit on the bed.” She moved fast grabbing a clean pair of tweezers.
“Already sitting down Miss.” He spoke in a smug tone she was all too familiar with.
“If you can recognize that you should already be sitting down I would hope you should recognize that you should be more careful.” She turned around and moved towards Wriothesley. Y/N grabbed his wounded hand. She began picking out any small shards of the knife that had gotten stuck within. Luckily not too many. None were deep within the palm as well.
“I can only try to be more careful so much. If you think about it, I helped you not have to deal with an inmate who had a stab wound on restock day. While everyone but you is out for lunch.” Wriothesley reasoned. He looked at the wound already wondering if the count of scars on his body was about to go up.
“I'll give you that.” Y/N finished up with the first part of cleaning up the wound. She had thrown any remnants of the knife in the trash. “You know you are very lucky that Sigewinne wasn’t here to fuss over you. If I had to listen to her ‘I helped raise you, the least you could do is be careful’ lectures while trying to count and move things around, I might go insane.”
Wriothesley rolled his eyes as he laughed. “Yeah.” He drew out the word with a bit of tiredness. “I guess I should thank you for not telling her.”
“Shit.” It was half a response from the hydrogen peroxide touching the new wound and half from what Y/N had said. He thought he was more used to the sting of his wounds being cleaned by now. “Can’t you just let this slide?”
Y/N raised her eyebrow as she began to dab the hydrogen peroxide onto some cotton balls. “I never said I wasn't going to tell her. If I remember right, which I know I'm remembering right, I still have to write this up in your medical file. No exception for staff. Even if you are the Warden, she’s going to find out regardless.”
“You created more work for me on restock day and think I’m gonna let this slide. After I’m done with this I get to go move a whole art studio.”
“Don’t I get special privileges?”
“Everyone with a title is gonna get the same treatment from me. You forget that?” The blood had been cleaned off his hand. And with the wound clean she could begin focusing on wrapping up the wound on his palm.
“I was going for boyfriend privileges.” Wriothesley continued to try and wiggle his way out of Sigewinne learning what happened.
“I am on the clock and not on break so no special treatment. You lost special treatment the moment you walked into the infirmary. If it's serious enough to seek medical care, it's serious enough to be written in your medical file.”
“Usually I'm very glad that you take your job seriously.”
“Cause it's my job and it would be inappropriate to change procedures just because the patient is you.” Y/N finished wrapping up his palm leaving him plenty of room to move his hand around but keeping the bandages tight enough to stay on throughout the day. “Change the bandages 3 hours from now. You can either do it yourself or have Sigewinne do it for you.”
Wriothesley moved his fingers around testing how much movement he would have. “Thanks, doll. You sure I can't get you to change it instead?”
“I just said I have to go move an art studio later.” She began putting away anything unused that was okay to keep before throwing everything else out. “Or were you not paying attention to what I was saying?”
“I was. You know I could go and help you if you want.” Wriothesley offered.
Y/N looked at him, raising an eyebrow. “Art Studio. As in my mother's art studio.”
“Yeah. You managed to get a photo out of me and you've been saying that your mother wants to meet me. Every time you’ve tried to set up, something has always come up and if I go with you, then you won’t have to worry if I’m using my right hand or not.” He reasoned. It may have also been a bit of quick thinking to avoid disappointing Sigewinne over that he got hurt again. Two birds with one stone kind of thinking.
“But I was thinking like a dinner so we could all get to talk.” She threw out her gloves before moving to sit on the bed on Wriothesley’s left side. “How are we supposed to talk if we are just packing and moving boxes Ri?”
“I could help, go pick up some food for everyone so you don’t have to sit at a restaurant.” He put his arm around Y/N pulling her closer and placed a kiss on her forehead. “Plus it’s my non-dominant hand that’s hurt so I can still help you.”
“I’ll just have to take you two out to eat after.” He offered.
“I’m already going to be tired after this and I’m just going to be exhausted after helping her move. I’m not going to want to sit down somewhere for dinner.” Y/N argued.
“What if I’m so tired I don’t even want to talk while we eat?”
“I’ll just carry you to your apartment afterward if you are so tired. Quit worrying your pretty little head over it. You need the brain power for more important things.”
It was a well-needed reminder for her. Sometimes it was just too easy to get caught up in worry. “You must really like me a lot if you are willing to carry me like a sack of potatoes.”
Wriothesley laughed. “I was thinking more like a piggyback ride but if you want to be carried like a sack of potatoes, I can. We really should talk about how you not so secretly want me to manhandle you.” He teased.
Y/N rolled her eyes. “I have work.”
“I’ll get you after your shift then. We can go up together.” He gave her a quick peck on the lips before standing up from the bed. “You can't go on about how much you want your mother to like me and when the perfect opportunity for a good impression comes up, try and stop me from meeting her.”
“But what if it ends up not being perfect?” She looked up at him. “I really care about you. I want my mother to like you. I want my family to like you.”
“Which is why I’m offering to help with a move. Even then if you keep planning for perfection, nothing will get done. You know that.”
“I know not everything can be perfect. I’ve made my peace with that. But I want this to be perfect.” She stood up looking at him. “I want something good for you outside of here as well.”
“Don’t worry about things like that. Life is good for me now.” He sighed. “It’s not like anything is forcing me to be here all the time. I know there’s good outside. What's bothering you?”
She sighed. “You remember when I said I was volunteering as the person to come down here to help was just to try something new right?” Y/N started as she began to give the real reason.
“Yeah. It's kind of what we encourage here.”
“Well, I got out of a really bad breakup. And my family was just telling me that person wasn't good.”
“You never told me how bad.” He did remember a mention that she got out of a relationship around two and a half years ago when they first met. She never said much about it and who was he to press her about it back then?
“I was engaged. I almost signed a lease on a new house with them when everything went down. I just feel like I got blindsided by the show they were putting on. If I listened to my family then everything would have been better for me.” She took a deep breath. “So if they like you, nothing like that will happen to me again.”
“And here I was thinking you were just worrying to worry.” Wriothesley shook his head at himself. “Look, I can't control how people are going to view me. And you can't control if your mother will like me or not.”
“I know that. I just want this to be good. I mean I wanted her to like you even before we started dating. You kind of started to become important in my life.” Y/N looked away from him. “Like I think even after I got that breakup, you were definitely part of the reason I stayed.”
“It's going to be okay. It may not be some storybook picture of perfection but it's going to be better if you try and focus on the good.” He placed his left hand on her shoulder trying to ground her back to reality. “What did you say a few weeks ago? I think you said she would steal a single mora to get thrown in here if she didn't get the chance to meet me at this rate.”
Y/N laughed. “Yeah. I had to tell her that's a horrible idea.”
“It's going to be okay.”
She nodded as she spoke. “Okay.” She looked into his eyes falling into the comforting gaze that looked back at her.
“I'll get you after your shift. I still have to fill out paperwork cause of that fight.” Wriothesley kissed her forehead. “I know it's easier said than done, but try not to overthink it.”
“And if I do?”
“Then we will have to find a way to stop you from thinking about that specifically.”
“It better not be by giving me work. Cause I'm going to be so tired tonight.” She looked at him, raising an eyebrow.
“I’m not cruel. I was thinking of making sure you aren’t alone so you don't fall back into your worries. At least so someone can pull you back out if you do.”
“Well, Sigewinne and Ottnit should be back soon. So I won’t be alone for too long.”
“You ate lunch already?” Wriothesley asked.
Y/N looked away again. “I ate a late breakfast so I was going to eat lunch once they got back.”
“In here?” He asked concerned. “What happened to only eating in here when there is only one person available?”
“I was actually going to go out to the cafeteria. I didn't bring anything down for lunch today.” It was a break from her normal habit, mostly because she forgot to grab her lunch before leaving her apartment in the city. The sandwich that she made that now sat in her kitchen would be dearly missed.
Wriothesley sighed. “Guess I'll have to take the important job of keeping you company during lunch.”
“Don't you also have work?” She raised an eyebrow at him.
“For one, I’m in charge of this place. And two, I still have to eat lunch myself. Also, I think the Fortress can handle itself while I take care of you. I think people know well enough to only disturb me when I'm with you if it's important.” It was something that he noticed was happening long before the two of them got together. It was already common for people would keep their distance due to their various reasons. It must have been learned to give the two space after people had noticed that Wriothesley’s mood would sour when he had to leave for something that didn’t even require his attention.
“Makes me wonder what your definition of important is now.”
“At the moment, it's keeping you out of your worry spiral. Generally a mix of other things, but the only thing taking me away from you is if something requires my attention to be handled. You are at the top of the list at the moment.” Oh, she just wanted to be in his arms after that.
“The top of the list?”
“Yes.” He nodded.
“Are these girlfriend privileges?”
Wriothesley laughed remembering what he said not so long ago. “You can call it that if you want. I would have done this for you regardless though.”
Y/N gave in, finally hugging him. Maybe things would be okay.

sick day
[it took me Long Enough. inspired by sketches from the talented @nami-ramen and also the fact i just had surgery and wanted to write fluff. the perspective changes a few times throughout the story due to my Horrible Curse]
[honorable mention to my Good Friend @jangles28. they cheered me throught this one. Thank You Jangles] [this fic includes: mentions of illness, normal amounts of people watching, and a little breaking and entering. as a treat]
The detective woke up feeling… not that great, to be honest. What day was it? Friday? Saturday? God, they hoped it was Saturday. Then they could stay home and focus on taking care of Junior, and decidedly not how awful it felt to be awake right then. However, as all things seemed to be going lately, the world did not have the detective’s back. It was Friday.
Great. Good.
First order of business, make themself presentable. It wouldn’t do for Junior to see them like this, so they had to pull themself together enough to get Junior to daycare at least. Then, they had to face the ordeal of going to work and dealing with whatever crime was assigned to them that day. Should be simple enough, right?
The detective stood up, and battled off the woozy feeling they got from doing so. They had a thermometer around here somewhere, probably. They remembered using one on Wanda, when she had fallen ill once, but that had been… a long time ago. The detective shuddered, and opened a drawer in their wardrobe that looked promising. The thermometer lay there, next to some other miscellaneous knick-knacks that didn't have anywhere else to go. Looking at it, the detective sighed, then picked it up and pushed the button to turn it on.
The reading they got back didn't give them much hope for the rest of the day. The detective had an elevated temperature. Well. Thank God it was Friday, at least. If they could push through the day, then they could take the whole weekend to rest afterwards. The detective pulled some suitable clothing out of their wardrobe, showered, and made themself presentable enough for their colleagues and for Junior.
The detective coughed, then walked to the kitchen to start making breakfast. Junior joined them on the way. God, had it really been three years? Junior’d dressed himself. and was chattering excitedly about what was going to happen at daycare that day. Something about paper snowflakes. The detective tried to pay attention, they really did, but the aching in their throat and pounding in their head made it hard to concentrate.
“How about cereal today, bud?”
Junior nodded excitedly, which was good, because the detective didn't have the energy to make anything else. The way their throat was feeling, they wouldn't have the ability to eat the cereal either. The detective fixed Junior some cereal, and poured a small glass of orange juice for themself. Thank god they'd had the forethought to go shopping. They should have ingredients for chicken noodle soup somewhere, but they had to hurry up a little to get Junior to daycare and themself to work.
They told Junior to go and brush their teeth, and while he was doing that they searched for the ingredients they would need later, and got as far as the chicken broth and noodles before Junior was racing back to them, freshly cleaned. The detective ruffled his hair, then went to go brush their own teeth. They grabbed some Ibuprofen from the cabinet and took it, praying that it would get them through the day. After a brief coughing fit, they finished up in the restroom and left to go drive Junior to daycare.
They managed to drive to daycare with relatively little incident, Junior chatting about various things that caught his interest in the backseat. The detective walked him to the door and waved goodbye with a smile when Junior turned back to look through the door. After they got back in their car to drive to the office, however, they collapsed into a coughing fit bad enough to make them briefly reconsider their choices on smoking.
After the detective made it to work, they learned that the case they'd be working on for the foreseeable future was a homicide of some kind. The detective knew that they really should have been paying more attention to the briefing that they had been given, but the headache and their sore throat made it a little hard for them to give the case any of their attention. With a sigh, they sorted through the paperwork in their office a little, coughed again, and stood up to go investigate the crime scene. God, every joint ached today.
Waldo strolled along the police tape. So what if he was looking for his favorite detective? He hadn’t done the crime. Perfectly fine for him to be here. The murder looked like one that his detective would be assigned, which did irk him a little (it was his job to give his detective cases, but that would have to wait, for at least a while longer), but the murder was sloppy and it was evident who had done it. Finally, after a little while, his detective's car pulled up, and the investigator of the hour stepped out.
They didn't look quite right. Waldo stared inquisitively. His detective was paler than usual, and they had a flush to their cheeks, but they hadn't been exercising? Confusing. They hid a cough behind their hand, but due to their… unfortunate smoking habit, that didn't help with the mystery whatsoever. He sat down on a park bench (not too close), and began to watch his detective examine the evidence.
About half an hour later, one of the detective's colleagues walked up behind them and slapped them on the shoulder in greeting (Waldo wasn't a fan. Shouldn't be touching his detective like that). The detective looked up from the body and smiled at the man, then stood up and started talking with him. That was the intent they had, at least. As Waldo watched, the detective stumbled and had to catch themself on the man's shoulder, leading to some troubled questioning on the colleague's part. After a couple minutes of a growing back-and-forth between his detective and their colleague, the detective turned and stormed away in a huff. Kind of cute, but they had another coughing fit after getting away from their colleague. This one forced them to lean against a nearby lamppost.
Some suspicions were creeping up on Waldo. Was his detective ill? Could be. That wouldn't be good. Waldo needed his detective at the top of their game, and he knew that although illnesses passed, they could leave lasting effects. That wouldn't do. Waldo began to trail the detective at a distance.
Waldo watched as the detective's colleague found and walked over to them, bringing along some support. His detective turned to glare at them from the lamppost, and after a couple minutes of more solid arguing the detective sighed and began to walk back to their car with a wave. Perhaps their coworkers had convinced them to go rest? Good.
He would keep monitoring his detective. Just to make sure they got home safely.
---
The detective was a little peeved. They didn't look that bad, did they? Perfectly capable of making it through the rest of the admittedly very long day and picking up their son and making dinner. Now that they thought about it, perhaps they were grateful that their coworker had convinced them to go home. They could at least rest and start to make soup before Junior got home, so that they wouldn't have to entertain an easily-bored three year old while making dinner.
They parked their car and walked into their house, minimal coughing involved. The detective proceeded to remove their shoes then walk to the kitchen, with the aim of setting the soup up to boil for a while before taking a nap for the rest of the day. They set the stock in the pot to boil, and started to cut up the chicken and some carrots and celery they'd found in a cupboard. Then, they set out the noodles for later addition to the soup, maybe after they got Junior from daycare. Reducing the heat to low, they threw the ingredients into the stock, added some herbs to the pot, and promptly began walking to their couch to lie down for a little while.
After they crossed the threshold between the kitchen and the living room, the world got very sideways for them very suddenly. They hadn't even noticed they were feeling lightheaded, really. Well. That left them with the option of either staying smack where they were, or crawling to the sofa in order to at least try to spare themself from future back pain. Their body made the choice for them, however, and the detective slipped into unconsciousness.
---
Waldo had been watching. He simply couldn't help himself! His detective was enrapturing. So, when he watched them collapse through their kitchen window, he began to debate the pros and cons of going in to assist them. They appeared to be dead to the world, so they wouldn't be able to attempt an arrest on him, and if he helped them out a little now, then they would be fit to play his game faster than if he didn't. On the other hand, his dear detective could wake up, and thus spoil all the waiting that Waldo had been doing to advance his game.
Well. What was life without a little risk, right? Waldo twirled his cane, and appeared before the detective's prone form. This close, he noted that they were shivering, despite the thick sweater they were wearing. Bending down, he gave them a gentle poke with his cane, and all he got in return was a faint groan. Probably safe to pick them up, then. Waldo scooped his detective up and carried them to their bed. Uncharacteristically gently, he lifted the covers aside and set the detective down, then draped the blankets back over them.
Good Christ, they had been burning alive. Were humans supposed to be that warm? That wouldn't stand. Unfortunately, Waldo didn't exactly… know how to deal with that. THis did, however, present an excellent opportunity to rifle through the detective's cabinets in search of both something that would assist with their bout of illness and more information on who they had been before Waldo had begun his game with them.
He took off for the kitchen, taking his time in the halls to look at any pictures he saw hanging there. There were stunningly few with the dear detective's late wife, which did make sense from a feelings standpoint. It would be hard to see your dead wife every day, wouldn't it? Waldo assumed so. Having successfully made it to the kitchen, Waldo began rifling through the detective's cupboards. He found the cabinet which boasted several different medicines of various kinds, and pulled out the bottle that claimed to reduce fever and inflammation. He took them back up to the detective, along with a cloth that he had found and soaked in cold water. Couldn't have his detective's brain burning up.
Waldo set the cloth on the detective's head, and set the bottle of medicine on the stand next to their bed. He knew that Junior would have to be picked up from daycare later (he watched), so he set an alarm for 4 P.M. on their clock. Then, he sat and watched the detective shiver under the covers.
He kept that up for a while. Only to make sure that his detective wouldn't somehow pass before Waldo got to begin his game again. As the clock ticked nearer to four, his detective stopped shivering quite as much. Waldo removed the compress and placed a hand on their head, smiling when he realized the fever had broken while he watched. Standing and leaving the medicine very obviously by their alarm clock, Waldo walked back out to the kitchen and left a letter next to the pot of soup on the stove, then promptly exited the house before his detective woke up.
---
With a jolt, the detective woke and scrambled to turn off the irritating beeping of their alarm.
Wait.
Alarm? They hadn't set an alarm, they didn't think. And they hadn't fallen asleep in bed, right? The detective looked at the clock, and realized that it was already time to pick up Junior. God, what had happened? At least their fever appeared to have broken while they were out.
Unsettled, the detective stood up and raced to the kitchen. A little jolt of fear shot through them as they spotted the red envelope on their counter. That explained… not very much, now that they were thinking about it. What had Waldo been doing in their house? Why was he there in the first place? Was anyone dead? The detective picked up the letter and opened it.
"Dear detective,
Do take better care of yourself. It's not very becoming to fall so easily to illness.
Yours,
Waldo"
The detective scoffed. It wasn't exactly their fault, was it? Anyway. They stirred the soup, turned the heat down a little more, and raced out the door to pick up Junior on time.
They missed the flash of red and white standing at the end of the drive.

A central Arkansas father has been charged with first-degree murder after finding his missing underage daughter in the car with a man, then shooting and killing the man.
The shooting happened in Lonoke County, about 75 miles northeast of Hot Springs.
Someone called the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office around 1:12 Tuesday morning about a missing juvenile, the sheriff’s office said in a news release on Facebook. The girl is 14 years old and the man who was shot is in his 60s, Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley confirmed to USA TODAY Friday afternoon.
While deputies were on their way to the home, someone called to let them know that a father had found his daughter with a man named Michael Fosler, authorities said.
The two had a "confrontation," and Fosler was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The father was taken into custody and taken to the Lonoke County Detention Center. According to online jail records, the 36-year-old was released at 1:12 p.m. on Wednesday.
He is facing a "preliminary charge" of first degree murder, a Class Y felony, the sheriff's office said. Class Y felonies normally carry a sentence of at least 10 years and no more than 40 years, or life in prison, according to legal website Justia.
Sheriff Staley said in a video posted on Facebook that the investigation is ongoing so authorities are only releasing limited details. The prosecutor will determine what charges will be filed and no official charges have been filed yet, Staley said.
“I have not, nor will I, advocate for any specific charge,” Staley said. “This is a tragic situation and my thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
Shooter posts bail; family trying to secure lawyer
A woman identifying herself as the girl’s mother shared a series of updates on Facebook after the incident. She confirmed that the family was able to post bail and get her husband out of jail, but they started a fundraiser to retain a lawyer.
“We are private people, so all of this being public has been very difficult,” The woman shared on Facebook Wednesday afternoon.
In her post, she said the family had a no-contact order in place for Fosler due to stalking.
Man killed was arrested earlier this year
The man who was shot, Fosler, had been arrested by another agency in July and booked for internet stalking of a child and sexual assault, Sheriff Staley told USA TODAY Friday afternoon.
"This guy that preyed upon their daughter was released on bond, and we had stopped him that night and got him with her," he said. "That bond would have been revoked. He would have never got out of jail. None of the bond companies would have let him out. We wouldn't let him out."
She said her family thought Fosler had taken their daughter to kill her. Her daughter is a victim, and her family has a long road to recovery ahead of them, she said.
“We absolutely called 911 during the entire event,” she wrote. “We had no idea this man was in contact with our child again. He was waiting 6-9 felonies for what he did, not 2. He was looking at the rest of his pathetic life in jail, and our daughter was the only witness.”
“Some things we will never know, but we know that the police department afforded this predator privacy they did not give our family,” she wrote. “I’m deeply offended by the way this was handled by the county sheriff's office.”
'I absolutely do not support predators'
Sheriff Staley told USA TODAY Friday afternoon that he knows the girl's mother is hurt and scared.
"I absolutely do not support predators," he said. "I'm a daddy. I have three daughters. I know she's hurt right now, but there's absolutely nobody I would put ahead of our children, their children, my children."
He said his investigators are trying to figure out what happened that day leading to the man's death.
"When we get on scene and there's a homicide, it means one person took the life of another," Staley said. "It's either justified or not justified. That's what the fact finding, that's what the investigation is going to find out."
The murder charge against the shooter and girl's father, is a preliminary charge but it's not official, Staley said.
Fundraiser for legal funds was removed by GoFundMe
The girl's mother also claimed that GoFundMe, the platform they were using to collect money for legal purposes, was returning funds to donors and eventually said the fundraiser had been closed altogether. Instead, she is collecting money on Venmo and Cash App.
A GoFundMe spokesperson told USA TODAY Friday afternoon that GoFundMe's Terms of Service prohibit fundraisers that raise money for the legal defense of anyone formally charged with "an alleged violent crime."
"Consistent with this long-standing policy, the fundraiser has been removed from our platform and donations have been refunded," the fundraising platform said in its statement.
On Thursday morning, the woman thanked community members. She also thanked the other victims who reached out to her with claims that the same man attacked them.
“We have gotten a clear picture of a predator who continuously worked with children and preyed on young girls,” The woman wrote. “This man was Chief of police in Indiana and resource officer, giving us a better idea of why the Lonoke county courts have been protecting him and going after my husband.”
She said the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office's actions are proof that the sheriff "supports predators" and that he will prosecute those who are trying to protect their families.
"My husband is a hero and we are so thankful to have him home with us for now," The woman wrote Thursday morning. "We want to do everything possible to ensure he can continue to be here to protect us."
In a final post on Friday morning, she shared that she is overwhelmed by the support community members have shown their family. Her family plans to open a bank account to raise funds as well.
“Donations are wonderful and needed but despite the legal fight this has been the most traumatic event of our families life, all of us, so please just keep us in your prayers and add us to your prayer chains,” The woman wrote.
'I don't file charges': Sheriff says investigation is underway
The sheriff stressed that he doesn't have the authority some people think he does.
"I don't file charges," he said, adding that the prosecuting attorney handles that. "We're in consultation with the prosecuting attorney about what to do in this preliminary stage. All my deputies and investigators knew at that time is there's a deceased man, a 14-year-old that was in the truck with him, and a dad saying 'Hey, I stopped him for this.'"
Sheriff Staley said investigators were interviewing people Friday and have been all week to get the facts.
"We're going to get this wrapped up as expeditiously as we can, and get the file faxed and over to the prosecutor so he can make an informed decision," Staley said.

There are more than stars in the sky
You dont know who i am, and trust me thats for the best. I’m just a noboby that happens to see things normal people aren't meant to see. Things that the entirety of nasa and any other acrynomn of letters of the government body has been hiding from people like you, the common folk. They've already prepared their ways of getting off our little and feeble planet we call home. But let me just tell you it won't matter where they go. Eventually it will all be taken away, whatever they build elsewhere in the cosmos.
My job was to look at all the info and pictures of anomalies in space with other scientists, and to make sure none were a threat to earth,  such as incoming asteroids and large foreign bodies in space. We've all heard of such things at this point, of potential asteroids and large meteors that are going to hit our little planet and destroy us, but that it won't be for millions of years.
Believe me when I say I've seen all of the small objects, asteroids, and comets that have had a close trajectory to our home. It's our job to keep an eye on it. But none of them could ever be compared to what I found, let alone by accident… I wish... I never did find it. I could have lived in bliss until the end of my days.
But I did find it, and I'm the only one who saw it for what it was… a threat to our planet.  Or so I thought. But I might as well entertain you with the tale of my findings since once you read this whole document you'll wish you hadn't.
It had started off as a normal day, the usual pulling up of files and data on the previous night crews findings on our telescope, we call her selene. She is how we have a job where we can make some sort of small impact, otherwise we wouldn't  have a job. Its real name is redacted, due to the government and that it has to be a secret project and all. You have to love the men in suits and their secrets.
But back to the story.  So it was a usual day. The date was July (redacted) of 2017. I know it's in the past, you don't have to point it out to me. But I'm telling it how it was that day. It was a normal day, me working with my team and looking at data that we had collected from the previous shifts team, and that's when I noticed one of our celestial bodies we keep an eye on was gone. It was there and in the next frame it was gone. I'm gonna clarify here, our telescope, our selena, takes images of the sky and the pattern of the stars every hour. It was over three images, I'm now positive I saw the death of a star and system.
I had to call my colleagues over to make sure I hadn't just lost it, but they were telling me it was just a malfunction and selenas mirrors just needed to be realigned back into position.  But as I was saying, the three frames I saw were just an absolute mystery. The first image showed the star there in its normal place in the night sky, the second image showed a large eruption of that. It was similar to a star collapsing upon itself. There was a bright orange and it had an almost reflective haze to it. The third image it showed  was of nothingness. Through the lense was pure darkness.
Then the last image… I'm sorry… but it's taking me a minute… I still don't believe it… what I saw, it looked like a snake or serpent made of planets with a nebula around a burning star in its head… it was devouring a planet and taking its matter… it's something I don't think I can get out of my head. But we started trying to follow it and we found a path! It's eating planets that wouldn't be able to contain life. Uninhabited planets rich in resources!
We somehow found it again today and we are watching it. We've seen it go through three planets already, but we've also seen it turn away planets that can support life on them. It's showing intelligence! We can't believe what we are capturing. It's absolutely stunning! We can't take the pictures fast enough.
So…. Its been a few days since we found the celestial. We might have done something wrong… it's noticed us..  It was in the middle of devouring a frozen planet and then, it.. it turned direclty towards us. It has noticed us. We are doing our best to redirect the telescope, but it's like it's been locked. We can't get any access to it at all. We've tried everything from wiring and the pistons holding it in place, to actually hitting it with our heavy tools to try and break it. Nothing has worked… it's like it's being protected… it couldn't be the celestial could it?
I've reviewed the data… it's still coming toward us and it's moving fast. In a vast distance since it started heading towards us, it has covered light years in a matter of days. We can't even turn off the screens anymore. It's making us watch it. Watch as it moves at an astonishing speed towards earth… what.. what have we done?.
Its nearby now. I've watched it move. It's in the sol system now. I can feel its presence alone in my mind. The things it tells me about the universe… it's not malicious, it's sentient and it's telling me about other races and species… It's beautiful…
It's here now… everyone has left but me and my wife. She believes me. It's not here to harm us, it wants us to grow. But we have met too soon. It's come to erase our minds as a collective species on our planet. It let me speak to it, it consumes  material rich planets and recreates new ones with the matter in places life will grow upon them. There are more than homosapiens in the vastness of space. It told me many things about the universe…so many things. We aren't limited to this planet in our star system. We are a forgotten branch. The split from the rest of the civilization. And we've lost our way, alone in our remote location. It told me so much about other species it has encountered and who have visited us. I thanked it after our conversation.
I found this all written out in a notepad in my desk drawer. I don't know where it came from. We haven't registered or recorded anything like this in months, just a few other anomalies and other things that are pretty extraordinary.
But this feeling after I read this, I can't explain it so im posting it to share with you. It doesn't make sense, we would notice a massive celestial snake in the sky of our planet! But I feel it happened. We were not ready for it though. Its amazing, there's a massive snake in the night sky haha. Hey it's almost as crazy as these other stories my coworkers have told me and that I've seen the effects of. I think I'm going to talk to them some more and see what they have to say about some of our anomalies we've run into.

QSMP Reader Insert One-Shot: It's a Deal
Summary: You were one of the residents of Quesadilla Island running for presidency; at least, you were. Halfway through, you had decided to drop out due to some other runners having similar campaigns to yours. But after listening to them better, something about them makes you uneasy, so you decide to get back into the run…with one of the few people you would ever trust.
Hi everybody! Alexa here! I'm feeling quite optimistic about this little bit I'm writing today, even though I've told myself quite a few times to wait for when I'm getting to the real fic, but that's not important right now. What's important is that I get this out before the final elections on the QSMP, because that's what this one-shot is all about. And man, if you guys have time to read this, might wanna grab a snack and a drink cause this is lengthy; probably one of the longest solo pieces I've tried writing.
Anyway, this is a female reader insert, as those are easier for me to write and because we don't have much girl power on the QSMP. But, if you are not a girl who is reading this, feel free to change things up for your own preference. I am a fifteen-year-old Christian teenage girl, but I know I have to respect and be thoughtful of others. This takes place after the third debate (Day 106). As for what you're up to, well—you'll just have to find out.
Major spoilers if you're not following the QSMP, or if you're still catching up on it. I'm sorry if anything is not entirely accurate to the timeline of the QSMP; I've checked the characters' pages on the QSMP wiki yet they're not entirely up-to-date on events. This is actually the first one-shot in a collection of two or three, because I had to get this out soon with the recent lore on the QSMP being absolutely crazy and getting darker and deeper, and the elections being close to wrapping up. I hope you don't mind what I did to get this out soon, everyone. I just hope I did a good job.
Will also be posted on quotev.com, fanfiction.net, and archiveofourown.org, on my account with the same name: Ashley Masenado, except for fanfiction.net with the username being AshleyMasenado15.
I hope you all enjoy, and remember—stay safe, and stay weird.
——————————————————————————————————
I can't believe I'm doing this…
You pursed your lips together as you walked through the woods, far away from the town, one hand in your pocket as the chatters grew quieter and farther away from you as you walked. You shuffled around your fingers, trying to stay calm, as you went over the crazy plan in your head again, over and over, to make sure you had it.
This plan was crazy. You were going crazy, and you absolutely hated it. For a while, you always thought you were the only sane one left on the island—until now. But this—this idea changed that thought. There was no turning back—but now you wished there still was.
Your steps came to a halt as you glanced around your surroundings, then raised your left hand to look at the screen of your Portable Minecraft Guide (PMG). You pulled up the map to check your location, and your icon confirmed that this was exactly where you needed to be. Pulling up the inventory tab, you rummaged through one of your backpacks for the three item kinds you would be needing: lava buckets, water buckets, and a flint and steel.
Your plan was simple: create a Nether portal with the bucket method to get Cucurucho's attention so you could negotiate with it. Normally you wouldn't break the rules on purpose; you had strong morality boundaries after all (unlike a majority of the people on the island). But you had no choice. You had missed the chance and had to come up with this in desperation, especially after what had happened near the end of the debate today. The chaos had prevented you from even getting a chance to see Cucurucho, so this was your best and only shot. You were not going to waste this only chance.
Letting out a deep sigh, you began to build the portal as the afternoon sky gave way to night. The cool breeze cooled the heat on your face, calming your heart from the nerves of today's events. As you poured one lava bucket down, followed by a bucket of water following your exact calculations, your thoughts drifted to the past events that you were around for since the beginning of Quackity's QSMP. Some were fun and fueled your resolve for adventure and to solve the mysteries of the island, while some were quite…depressing. Ordo Theoritas had been reestablished, the Nether portals at the end of the train tracks were a huge discovery, Quackity's mysterious disappearance (which you were still trying to solve today), many eggs had died (including your own, which nearly destroyed you and you were absent for a week, even needing therapy once), and the beginning of the elections of presidency for the island.
That was actually where you were now. Out of pure curiosity you had actually opted to run for president; and being the "do-it to-it" person you were, you went for it. After a bit of hard brainstorming and plenty of rewritten drafts, you had the perfect campaign: a program designed to protect the eggs and the people, and everyone and everything on the island. Cellbit, whose primary goal you knew was to leave the island—you knew he was going to be against the idea. But that didn't bother you, even if he was a good partner outside the elections.
As the elections had gone further with the first debate, you grew bold enough to share your further ambition to bring down the Federation, as they had done nothing to stop the problems of the Binary Code Entity and its attacks on the other eggs. It had been the cause of so many deaths, of people and eggs alike, and all they did was sit back and watch? Well you had had enough. If this so-called government wasn't going to do anything about your problems, you would. You would make sure of that.
At least until the very next debate. After you had heard the proposals of Bad and Baghera, you had decided to drop out of the elections as they had similar ideas to yours, and you figured since they were older than you and had more experience with these things. And besides, you figured with your lack of self-control that you'd probably go mad with power the moment you started your first day. It was probably for the better that you had dropped out. Thanks to some negotiations with Cucurucho and having the official paperwork signed, you were out of the run for presidency.
What some people didn't know, was that not long after the second debate, you were having second thoughts. There were many things you knew that the others did not, and these things worried you. Had you made a mistake to drop out of the elections? Maybe. Especially with Bad's proposal, which you had reflected on more after reading back on your draft for the QSMP newspaper (you were the main editor as it gave you something to do after you lost your egg). You didn't want something like that to happen again; you couldn't let it. You would not let it. If anyone was going to actually make things better on this cursed island, it was going to be you.
As the heaviness of the load in your hands began to lighten, you stopped pouring and put down the empty bucket. The portal was finished and now it only needed to be lit. You stared at the flint and steel in your hand, seething through your teeth at the thought of the crime that was about to be committed. Standing in position and gripping the tools tight, you flicked the flames and the deed was done. Now all you had to do was wait.
As you stood there waiting for Cucurucho to come by and give you your news, you thought of the strange nature of this white robotic bear. Ever since your first interaction with it, you had thought it to be an A.I., due to its use of a soundboard to communicate, having no desire for itself, and its constant presence to ask questions to the reidents as surveys. You were very wary of Cucurucho, especially after its first jumpscare on you. You nearly had a heart attack that day. No joke; you had to pump your fist on your chest plenty of times and your child had to calm you down since you were even laughing your head off with insanity.
As time went on and you were noticing patterns in its behavior, you began to understand it more—at least, you hoped it did. Cucurucho was only doing its duty, given to it by the Federation. It was only doing what it was told, even if it did have some… interesting methods to getting the job done. It reminded you of yourself in a way, with your "get-right-to-it-before-I-get-too-lazy" attitude. Except you weren't the kind to use force to get your work done, so of course there were some major differences. At least you didn't laugh in someone's face when they were about to lose the last of their hearts.
A flash of white caught your eye from the trees in the left, and you immediately stepped back as Cucurucho came running. In a single click it destroyed the portal, one block at a time. Not a single trace was left, not even a particle. As soon as the portal was out of existence, it turned around and faced you with that same eerie smile, plastered on its white mask for hours at a time. It sent a chill down your spine whenever you saw it; it was like a prison it couldn't escape. If you still didn't think Cucurucho was just some AIR (Artificial Intelligent Robot, as you called it), you would have felt a little sympathy for it.
"Hello," it said, its iconic leather-cover notebook in its left hand. The feather pen was stuck in-between the pages, serving as a bookmark for where it could write when it had to communicate with the residents beyond its limited soundboard. Its white long-sleeved shirt, white pants, white fingerless gloves, and white socks and shoes were spotless as always, somehow completely free of stain. The white mask sported the usual shiny black eyes and button pink nose, and the unmoving mouth where the soundboard played its repeated words held the same old smile. "You have committed an illegal act. Please, follow me."
"Yes, Cucurucho, I know I did, but I only did this to get your attention," you muttered, holding your hands up in defense as it tried to walk away. "I just wanna talk alright? It's really important, so please just listen."
To your surprise, the bear stopped in its tracks and turned around, returning back to you as it had walked away a few paces. It opened its book and wrote down some quick scribbles, then handed it to you to read.
I'm listening; what is it you need? The text read; inwardly you sighed with relief. You didn't think this plan would have actually worked, and yet it did. You figured it was now best to move on to the next phase, so you explained that you wanted to get back into the elections, and you needed Cucurucho's help for it. The bear was quiet the whole time, completely still as you talked. Halfway through, you realized the danger of the current situation and frowned slightly, looking around to see if anyone was listening in. Internally you sighed and rubbed the bridge of your nose, reprimanding yourself for not thinking this entirely through.
"We're not safe talking about this out here," you said, turning around to the direction of your house. The bear had put the book away, its paws now empty as it stood there; perhaps contemplating its decision in the matter. "Would you mind if we have to go to my house? I think we're close enough to it."
"No."
"Okay cool," you said, as you began to walk towards the direction of your home. You turned around to check if Cucurucho was following, and you kept going as it stayed three blocks behind you. As you went, you kept your map window open to make sure you were taking the most inconspicuous route, even making sure no one was following you by checking behind you every minute of the way. Normally you wouldn't call yourself paranoid, but things on the QSMP were making you more and more afraid of the island everyday.
Ever since the death of your egg child, you had been feeling less like your old self. You had become more tense, more wary of your surroundings and especially very careful with who you made friends with. You even stopped frequently hanging out with people, which you used to do plenty before to make more friends and be more socialised. Sometimes when some players would come by to ask how you were, they would be answered with an "I'm fine" and a chill wave. But in reality, sometimes you forgot how to smile a genuinely happy smile.
It took a bit of a long walk and a bit of quick sidestepping to avoid some of the player residents, but you and Cucurucho finally arrived at your little wooden cottage in the larger cherry blossom biome, near a quaint little village where you had built your house. It stood on top of a hill where the sun could shine into your windows. You opened the door to let Osito Bimbo in, then after you closed it you flicked on the lights with your redstone-powered lever that went all the way to some lanterns up on the ceiling.
Your living room was simple, yet enough to make one feel right at home. The red couch on the right side of the house was enough to seat atleast five people, and it was clean and inviting. On the right armrest was a jukebox with a chest labeled "Non-Copyrighted Relaxation Music" on its right side. A window with shutters was on the left wall, the shutters having been pulled up so the sunlight could flow in and warm the room enough; albeit with nighttime coming through, it was more of the sunset coming in. A ceiling fan whirred on in the middle of the ceiling, surrounded by the warm glows of the lanterns above. At the far side of the room were the stairs leading to the upstairs, with the bedrooms and the guest rooms. A hallway to the far left of the room lead to the dining room and the kitchen, where you lead Cucurucho into. You gestured for it to take a seat at one of the chairs at your table, while you went into the kitchen to prepare some refreshments for the both of you.
"Hey Cucurucho," you called from the kitchen while you poured pre-prepared hot water into two little teacups. "Jaiden told me you like tea a few days ago. You want some honey in your green tea?"
"Yes."
Nodding, you took out two of your green tea bags from the second top cabinet, dipping them into the cups and stirring a tablespoon of honey into one of them. You quickly stirred it and carefully made sure to evade the steam quickly lifting from the cup, as to not burn yourself from it. While the cups cooled on the counter, you took out a few home-baked Fita crackers from another one of your storage cabinets and put them on a plate, then put them aside to make room for the cups. After you brought and distributed them on the table, you took one of your discs from the shelf in the living room and played it in the jukebox near the table, then took a seat as you took your cup to sip your tea.
With the comfy music, you took some time to collect your thoughts while you looked around the dining room. The place was rather homey as intended, nice and simple with a long wooden table and wooden cushioned chairs. It took up most of the dining room, but left enough space for people to walk around the table, especially when you needed to serve visitors their refreshments. Lanterns hung from the ceiling from reinforced iron chains, bathing the room in a warm and comfortable glow.
You put down your cup and chewed on some biscuits, then after another sip you took a deep breath and braced yourself. Gently clapping your hands, you turned your attention back to the white bear, who seemed to have not budged from its seat except for having opened its book on the table and the cup in front of it being noticeably half-empty.
"So, Cucurucho," you started, holding out your hands in a hopefully professional manner. "Like I said, I wanted to talk to you about the elections. I would like to get back into the run for presidency."
"Why?"
You shuddered inside; this was new. You didn't think Cucurucho could have its soundboard updated to include new vocabulary, especially since you were used to hearing its usual "Good morning" , "No", "What are you doing?" and its eerie monotone "Hahaha". But maybe it was always there and you just didn't get an opportunity to hear it before.
"I want to get back into the presidency because I am concerned about the proposals of some of the candidates. Not only because of what they plan to do, but also because I am wondering if they will actually do it. Many running candidates often tend to forget about their promises because of their want for power. Once they have the power offered to them, they often forget about what they've promised and only care about themselves. Do you follow me?"
"Yes."
"Well, I'm not going to be like that. I've decided that if there's a fat chance that these candidates won't do what they've promised to do, then I'll do it myself, as I've always told myself all the while while I was in the run for presidency. Basically, I'd like to get back into the run for presidency because I want to help the island, and everyone in it, in my own way. What do you say?"
There was another reason you wanted to get back into the run for presidency, but it was one you would rather prefer to keep to yourself. Not only did it make you uncomfortable to think about, but it reminded you of terrible things that only further motivated you to get back into the run. You couldn't let something like that happen again, especially not with Bad and Foolish. They were some of your best friends on the island and the QSMP itself, and there was no way you would let history repeat itself over.

Deciding not to dwell on the past, you looked up and noticed that Cucurucho's notebook was in front of you with the words written inside: "Please wait while I discuss this with my workmates." From across the room, Cucurucho had pulled up a window on its PMG, which you figured was where it was talking with its fellow workers of the Federation. You decided to be patient and think of what you could request to Cucurucho in case it would need you to do something to fulfill your requisition. You carefully closed the notebook with the pen inside as a bookmark and slid it back to the bear, chewing on the rest of the biscuits on the plate while leaving some for Cucurucho.
After only a few minutes, Cucurucho turned off the window and carefully took out a page from its notebook. Your eyes widened as you never thought Cucurucho was allowed to do such a thing. But you figured it was best to say nothing, so instead you opened the chat on your PMG and began to talk with your friend Foolish. The QSMP members were put into an all-members group chat where if a single person messaged, everyone would immediately be able to see it. Luckily, the QSMP admins had created something new for the players: a personal chat similar to the private messages in Minecraft, except without the /msg command which made things a little tedious. You were especially grateful for this new function, which you used plenty of times when you weren't busy building.
Hey Foolish, what's up? You put in the personal chat for Foolish Gamers, his profile picture of him in his shark hoodie and doing a silly face in his selfie. This always made you giggle and actually made you feel a little better when you were feeling down, especially since you all liked to joke about Foolish being a comic relief during all of these hard and angsty times.
Nothing much, just hanging out with Leo rn He typed, an adorable little peace sign emoji following after. An image of Leo with a poppy doing a little dance came on, which you immediately reacted with a little red heart for Leonarda exclusively.
She actually misses seeing you around He texted. Asking when you gonna be able to come see her again
Tell her I said I'm sorry that I can't like, come over cause of how busy I am with my house You replied, with a little sad face emoji with the little teardrop. I do miss seeing all the eggs, Leonarda especially
Cucurucho's usual "Good morning" made you look up from your PMG at the white bear, who gestured to two pieces of paper it slid across the table to you. Curiously, you tilted your head at it then looked down at the paper, and what you saw made your eyes widen.
A little ping made you look back onto the open window, with a message from Foolish saying You still there bud? with the little sad face with puppy eyes. You giggled for a second, then replied with Yeah, but I gotta go now though. On the next message you said Sorry bud Then a little wave emoji, brown for your skin color from your Asian heritage. Bye you texted, putting away the chat window without waiting for an answer. You glanced back at the paper on the table in front of you, your heart dropping once again as you picked it up with the utmost delicacy.
The papers were but pieces of a contract, written down with Cucurucho's iconic feather pen. Despite being written with a feather quill pen, it was very neatly in the Courier New font, as if it were written on a computer and printed. The Federation's logo was in the upper-left corner, as it always were in the bear's notebook (you noticed this logo a while after it would ask you to answer its surveys). You didn't know the Federation was now starting to print contracts for the residents, which was making you nervous, frightened even. Quietly you opted to ask Cucurucho when they had started writing these for the residents, albeit it only answered with an ominous "I don't know. Maybe". With a frown, you began to read through the paper's contents, remembering to read through the fine lines so as not to miss anything majorly important. The contract read as follows:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rest of the paper read about an agreement to keep everything about tonight confidential: the meeting, the agreement, every single little detail. Not a word was to be uttered to anyone about what had occurred in this little cottage in the woods, on top of the hill above the village. You wondered how Cucurucho had been able to write this all down if it really wasn't an A.I. Perhaps it had had some help with its fellow members of the Federation, as it had been talking with them in a private chat window just a few minutes earlier.
Speaking of the Osito Bimbo—it was making you nervous; like, somewhat jittery in your seat as you tried not to let your heart pound so hard. It had been staring at you from its side of the table, never moving from its spot except for a few notably missing biscuits off the nearby plate. The cup was empty as well, which made you wonder if Cucurucho had been eating silently while you read as you had not heard a thing.
"So let me get this straight," you said, rubbing the side of your temple to get rid of a small headache and straighten your thoughts. "If I can fulfill the guidelines talked about in this contract, I can get back into the elections—back into the run for presidency right?"
"I don't know. Maybe."
"Mmhmm, right. So this is only effective until July 31 huh? That's plenty of time for such simple items, but I'm not asking for harder work."
Carefully you read the contract's fine lines over again at least three times before nodding and putting down the paper to face Cucurucho. Its black eyes stared back at you as if it were waiting for you to make a move first before it would, and you already knew what it was waiting for. To seal the deal and get you right to work.
You stood up, locking a firm gaze with the white bear as you held out your hand in agreement. This was it—the point of no return. "I've made my decision," you alluded. "I accept your offer, and I understand that there's no turning back from here. From here on out, it's a deal. I'll do my duties well and I'll make you proud."
Cucurucho stood up as well and took your hand in a rigid grip, the touch feeling cold despite the warm feel of the fingerless gloves. With a simple handshake and a quick signing, the deed was done, and the deal was sealed.
"I hope you enjoy the island."
"I will, thanks," you muttered as Cucurucho quietly left its seat, pushing back in the chair to the table. You figured it had other duties to attend to after this, so you knew it was time to bid goodbye for now—yet somehow you knew it would always be watching. Showing it the way out from the front door, you waved to it goodbye and good night as you tiredly stretched from the doorway. After it disappeared behind the trees below, you closed the door and went back to the dining room.
The papers still lay on the brown table, a stark contrast in the color scheme that was somehow pleasing to the eye. Your brows furrowed in worry as you picked it up, knowing there was no turning back now from this. You had to do it. For the island's sake, and your friends. Even if you had to explain a ton of things later down the line.
Deciding this needed to be secure, you sealed the document into a spare plastic bag and looked around for a good hiding spot. Your paranoia was making you worry about the thought that someone could come in here while you were gone and steal it out of pure curiosity, then your secret would be out and no one and nothing would be safe. It took you a while to find a secure location, but after that you figured you could rest easy. You pulled up the Settings window on your PMG, then logged off the QSMP for the day.
Back in the real world, you took off the VR helmet and shook the spare strands of hair out of your face. A quick stretch did you good, and then you opened your face cam to talk to your chat. You had been streaming on YouTube for atleast a few hours, and you needed some food and a quick nap; that sounded good enough. And the people in the chat definitely needed some of that too.
"Alright guys, I'd say this is a good time to end today's stream," you said to the camera, smiling for your viewers. You quickly read a few comments asking what was next for the lore, and you said there wasn't going to be too much major stuff except for what had just transpired, so they didn't have to expect much to happen except for stuff-gathering for the rest of the month if you could help it. Some joked that it was a bit like Jaiden's lore on the QSMP, and you couldn't help but agree that it was a bit similar in a way.
"Please note however that everything you have seen or will see in the QSMP is all heavily improvised roleplay, so please do not send any hate to the content creators for any action of theirs you find displeasing. Thank you, God bless, and have a great day."
From there, you ended your stream with your brief ending screen, then you stood up to prepare yourself for the rest of the day. Now out of role play mode, you couldn't wait to see what would await you in the QSMP the next day.

Chapter 8: Death take's a holiday
POV: Y/n
I am properly on my sixth cup of coffee at this point because I was so tired from staying up all night thinking about all the bullshit tremoli I've had to deal with. Also, I can sip it and not have to talk to Sam and Dean unless I had to. The last few weeks have been tedious with the three of us tip toeing around the fucked-up things we said when we were under the siren’s spell even though it was the truth at the moment to us. Sam was on the phone to Bobby talking about an interesting case he had found, and Dean was banging at the jukebox to get it to work, and I was trying not to explode with all the emotions I had running through my body. “No, no, no, you're right, it's definitely weird. ...Okay, Bobby, thanks.” Sam said, hanging up the phone. “What's up?” Dean sat down. “Bobby found something in Wyoming.” “A job?” I questioned. “Maybe” he responded. “Small town, no one's died in the past week and a half.” “Ok and is that not a normal good thing.” I questioned. “Well, it's how they're not dying.”
“One guy with terminal cancer strolls right out of hospice. Another guy gets capped by a mugger and walks away without a scratch.” “Capped in the ass?” Dean questioned and I chuckled under my breath at that one. “Police say Mr. Jenkins was shot in the heart at point-blank range by a nine-millimeter.” “Alright that one no way someone is walking away it looks like we got a case.” I said as it seems like I spoke to them for the first time today. “It's got to be something nasty, right? I mean, people making deals or something.” Sam said to us. And he wasn't wrong it looked like this had demon’s fingerprints all over it. The boys get up to leave as I stay sitting. “Y/n come on” Sam said to me. “You sure you guys want me to go with you. I mean you might have to save me and that is just pathetic right?” I said sipping my coffee and not looking up from my cup. “Y/n/n we said we're sorry okay I thought we were past this.” Dean responded looking sorry for a second. I finished my cup and got up not bothering to look at them. “Yeah, we're past it.” I said as I walked past them.
Tumblr media
We were now at the man’s house who was shot straight in the chest and is now walking around like nothing had touched him. “Now you three said you were bloggers?” He asked us. “Yes, sir. Floored by the Lord dot com.” I answered. “All of God's glory fit to blog.” Sam and I both look at Dean like really. “Um. Some of the people around town are saying what happened to you was a miracle.” I said to him. “It was. Plain as day.” “How can you be so sure?” “How else do you explain it? The doctors can't. There's a bullet in my heart, and it's pumping like a piston.” It does sound like a miracle but sadly with this life it never really is. “Well, how do you explain it?” Dean asked. Jim looks over to his daughter who was coloring at the other table and smiles. “Look, honestly. I was nobody's saint—not exactly father of the year, either.” “Okay”
“But when that guy shot me, and I didn't bleed a drop? I just knew the Lord was giving me a second chance.” Right the Lord. "That so?” “I had this feeling—like angels were watching over me.” Huh okay now that's something we can work with. “I wouldn't expect you guys to understand.” “Trust us Jim we understand.” Especially if an Angel is becoming my best friend. “You wouldn't have happened to have swung by a crossroads in the past week or so?” Sam asked getting info if this was a Demon thing. “No” Jim said back confused. “Maybe you met someone? With black eyes? Or red?” Should have stopped at the first question. “Who'd you guys say you were again?” The three of us look at each other. “Never mind. Thank you for your time.” I said getting up to leave.
Tumblr media
Dean was reading something on the computer while I was getting coffee … again. “Hey” Sam said entering the room. “Hey you find anything else?” I asked him. “That cancer survivor? He was clinically dead, his wife pulled the plug, and now he's taking her out for their twentieth anniversary.” The more I hear about people living their lives I want to leave this phenomenon alone. “Any sign of a deal?” Dean asked. “No. What about you? Found anyone dying around here?” “Not since Cole Griffith.” I responded back. “Poor Kid was 12 and dropped in his front yard. It was the last death we could find.” “So, what are you guys thinking?” Sam asked us. “Eh, maybe it is what the people say it is.” Dean said back.
“I think we would all love that Dean, but I don't think so.” I said back to him. “Yeah miracles? Dean, our experience, when do miracles just happen?” “Well, there's no deals. There's, uh, no skeevy faith healers.” He was right so what was going on in this town. “Dean’s right the souls aren't being taken.” “Maybe 'cause there's no one around to carry them.” Sam replied back. “No reapers that would explain this.” “Then nobody's dying. So what? The local reapers on strike? Playing the back nine? I don't know, Sam, Y/n.” “Well let's talk to someone who might Cole.” I said. “The kid? The kid's a doornail.” “Maybe maybe not but we could go talk to him to figure it out.” “I love how matter of fact you are about that. Strange lives.” We do have strange lives since we're talking about talking to a dead person.
Tumblr media
We were digging up Cole's grave well more like Sam and I. Dean was going through Dad’s journal. “You sure this is gonna work?” He asked Sam. “No. But if his spirit's around, this should smoke him out.” “I can't believe we're doing this to a kid’s grave. It's messed up.” I said I was still digging. “Yeah, well unfortunately it's part of the job.” Sam gave me an answer when I was not looking for one, I was hoping maybe for some sympathy. “This job is jacked.” Dean said, sounding done. “How so?” Sam questioned. “You want me to gank a monster or torch a corpse, hey, let's light it up, right? But this? If we fix whatever this is, people are gonna start dropping dead. Good people.” He was right but whatever was keeping the souls I had a feeling was not good. “Look, I don't want them to die, either, Dean, but there's a natural order.” Sam’s response to Dean was complete Bullshit. “Sam, you want to talk “natural order ", how about Dean coming back from Hell or us still being alive after dealing with the jackpot of death.” I finished jamming my shovel harder in the ground annoyed at Sam. “Yeah, but the normal rules don't really apply to us, do they?” I did a double take at him.
“Really Sam? We are not like others, we are just as human as others.” “Y/n/n come on as you said Dean has been to hell and I'm infected with demon blood, and you are practically besties with an Angel.” I scoffed at his reasoning. “Look, I know you want to think of yourself as Joe the Plumber, Dean, and you y/n as a secretary but you're not. Neither am I. The sooner you accept that, the better off you're gonna be.” “You gonna help us finish this?” Sam asked Dean as a man walked up. “Hey!” shit shit shit we really need to get better at being quiet digging up graves. “What are you doing here?” He questioned. How do you even reason this? “Uh so this does not look like what it is.” I said, sounding nervous. “Really? 'Cause it looks like devil worship.” Fuck we so need to get better. “What? No! No, this is not devil worship. This—This is—this—this is, uh—” Dean was trying to reason. “I don't have a good answer.” He said and I gave him a really look. “We're leaving.” Sam said as we got out of the grave.
“You're not going anywhere.” Huh? “Ever again. Sam.” The man said as his eyes rolled to white. Oh, fucking great its Alice from Hell. “Alastair.” “I thought you got deep fried, extra-crispy.” Dean said, backing away a bit. “Nah. Just the pediatrician I was riding. His wife's still looking for him. It's hilarious. Anyway, I have no time to chat. Got a hot date with death.” He flicks his hand at Dean and I as he flies back and hits some tombstones. “Dean, Y/n!!!” Sam yelled out. I was slowly fading as I saw some things as Sam had flicked Alastair back. “You're stronger, Sam. You've been soloflexing with your little slut?” “You have no idea.” And then Alice smoked out Sam was still hooked I thought as I went out like a light.
Tumblr media
I was sitting on the motel bed with a hell of a headache and an ice pack and wondering about Sam. “How you two doing?” He asked, walking in. I was thinking a lot about how to talk to him about this. I may be pissed but he was still my brother there was a reason why he was still hooked. “We're in pain, that's how we’re doing. I think we have concussions.” I think he was right because things were starting to cross. “You want some aspirin?” “Oh God yes please” I said, grabbing at it. My brothers may be able to tuff it out around but not me. “No thanks, House. So, demons, huh?” Dean said and of course he would say no. “Yeah. So much for miracles.” Sam replied. “And what the hell happened with Alastair again?” Dean questioned. What is Sam going to say to that I wonder. “I told you, he tried to fling me or whatever. And it didn't work, so he bailed.” Really Sam Alastair the big bad Demon couldn't fling a human when he did to us yeah that's believable. “Well, how come he couldn't fling you? He chucked you pretty good last time.” “Got no idea.” Sam’s got to get better at lying. “Sam, do me a favor. If you're gonna keep your little secrets, I can't really stop you, but just don't treat us like idiots, okay?” Dean said to Sam about us, and he had no idea. “What? Dean, I'm not keeping secrets.”
As I said before, get better Sam. “Mm-hm. Whatever. So, did you go back and q-and-a the dead kid?” See, even Dean can sense when something is going on. “Didn't have to. Bobby called. He did some digging.” “And what did he think?” I asked. “He thinks I'm right. Local reaper's gone. Not just gone—kidnapped.” “By demons? Why?” “Listen to this.” As he read from the notebook. “"And he bloodied death under the newborn sky—sweet to taste, but bitter when once devoured."” “Ha I really hope I'm wrong sam but that sounds biblical like a seal.” “Well you are right Y/n unfortunately basically, you kill a reaper under the solstice moon—tomorrow night, by the way—you got yourself a broken seal.”
“How do you ice a reaper? You can't kill death.” Dean examined. “I don't know. Maybe demons can. Where the hell are the angels is what I want to know. We could use their help for once.” Yeah, sadly they aren't on doctor calls even though I would love to give Cas a pager. ““What are we gonna do, just swing in and save the friendly neighborhood reaper?” “You got a better idea, I'm all ears.” “Dean, reapers are invisible. The only people that can see them are the dead and the dying.” Right, oh no.”Well, if ghosts are the only ones that can see them…” No No No.”Then we become ghosts.” Dean said, putting his ice pack back on his head. “You do have a concussion.” “No Sam he doesn’t he's just insane he's talking about astral projection. Which means Pamela, which means she is going to hate us more.” I said sighing and lying back on the bed.
Tumblr media
Pamela and Dean enter the room with Pam looking pissed. “I can't even begin to tell you how crazy you three are.” She was right, we go look for danger every day. “Well, Pamela, you're a sight for sore eyes.” Sam said to her trying to lighten the mood. “Aw, that's sweet, grumpy. What do you say to deaf people?” Damn “Which one of you brainiacs came up with astral projection?” She asked us. “Yo.” Dean said, raising his hand a bit. “Of course. Chachi.” I love how she calls them out like I do. “So, let's be clear. You want to rip your souls out of your bodies and take a little stroll through the spirit world? Do you have any idea how insanely heavy-duty that is?”
“Maybe, but that's where the reaper is, so…” “So, it's nuts.” “Yes, it is but that's why we came to you.” I replied. “I do. Know what to do. And guess what? I'm sick of being hauled back into your angel-demon, Soc-Greaser crap.” “Look, I'd love to be kicking back with a cold one, watching Judge Judy, too.” Dean said to her, and he sounded like a total dick. “Nice. More blind jokes?” “You know what I mean. We're talking the end of the world here, okay? No more tasseled leather pants, no more Ramones CDs, no more” I look at her and grab her hand. “Please Pam, we need your help.”
Tumblr media
I was closing the curtains so it would be an easier environment to slip into the astral plane. While the boys were lighting some candles. “Tell me something, geniuses. Even if you do break into the veil and you find the reaper, how are you gonna save it?” She asked us which was a good question since we hadn't gotten that far. “With style and class.” Dean replied with his usual cocky attitude. “You're gonna be three walking pieces of fog who can't touch or move anything. You'll be defenseless, hotshot.” “I seem to recall a bunch of ghosts beating the crap out of us.” Sam said. “Sam, they had years to be mad and to practice for us it will be like going into kindergarten with seniors.” I replied to my brother's comment. “Y/n’s right.” Pam agreed with me. “Well, then, I guess we got to start cramming.” Dean said, slapping his hands together in preparation. "Wow, couple of heroes. All right. Lie down. Close your eyes.”
Sam layed down on the left bed and Dean and I layed down on the right because there were only two beds. “Animum vult decipi, ergo decipiatur. Vis, vis, vis. Okay, guys. That's it. Showtime.” I open my eyes and look around at everything looking the same. “Well, nothing like shooting blanks. What's plan B?” Dean said and Pam did not respond. I look at Sam as he jesters to our bodies. “Damn this is trippy.” “You can say that again” Sam said, agreeing with me as Pam stood up.
“All right, so, I'm assuming you're somewhere over the rainbow. Remember I have to bring you back. I'll whisper the incantation in your ear.” She said as she whispered something to Sam and I'm guessing I didn’t want to know what she said. “Y/n be safe.” “Thanks Pam you too.” I responded back even though she couldn't hear me. It was nice to have someone other than my family care about me.
Tumblr media
We are walking on the street, and everything looks like it's colored in a bluish tint. A jogger runs through Sam like he was air well I guess he was. “That was wild.” Dean said smiling like this was fun. He then proceeds to put in his arm through Sam. “Am I making you uncomfortable?” “Get out of me.” Dean looked at me. “Oh, don't even think about it ghost or not I'll still kick your ass.” I said to him, “You guys have no fun. Come on.” He said walking further down the street. “Oh, man, we've been spooking this town for hours. No demons, no black smoke.” Dean finished as I looked up to a window of a house and saw someone staring at us. “Hey. Three o'clock. Kid in the window.” I said to them nodding my head up, he saw us and disappeared. “It's Cole Griffith, the last person to die in this town.” We look at each other and head to the house.
Tumblr media
We go upstairs and we can hear stuff being thrown and Miss.Griffith running away scared and sad. As we enter the room Cole is standing by his dresser and he throws a soccer ball right at us. “Stop! How are you doing that?” Dean said, grabbing Cole's hand. “Who are you?” He asked us. “Cole, it's okay.” I said approaching him. “How do you know my name?” “Look, this isn't gonna be easy to hear, but...you're—dead. You're a spirit. Us too.” Sam said to him. I'm pretty sure he knows. "Yeah, thanks, Haley Joel. I know I'm dead. What do you want?” See. “We just want to talk.” I said to him. “About what?”
Tumblr media
Mrs. Griffith was pouring another glass of her poison at the kitchen table, and it was like looking at a video of me from when Dean was in Hell and Jack and Daniles was my best friend. Cole was standing closest to his mom looking at her. “I was outside all morning. They tell you to be careful when it's cold.” He had passed away in front of his own house from an asthma attack kid deserved so much longer. “Cold air can cause an asthma attack?” Dean asked and Cole shrugged.
“But then I was in my room. It happened so fast. I called out for my mom, but nothing came out. Everything started spinning, and then I was just standing there, looking down at my body.” “And that's when you saw the man?” Sam asked referring to the reaper. “Creepy old guy in a black suit. He wanted me to go with him, but…” He turned back to his mom. “I didn't want to go.” I don't blame him, I don't think anyone would. He was a twelve-year-old full of life with a great family. “How'd you get rid of him?” Dean asked him as in where the reaper went. “I didn't. The black smoke did.” “Black smoke?” “It was everywhere. I hid in the closet, and when I came out, it was gone, and so was he.”
“Do you know where the smoke went?” “No. But I know where it is.” Just than the lights started to flicker, and the house started to shake. “They're back.” Cole said. “Who?” He doesn't answer and vanishes. And a white shaped figure went upstairs. “Hey! Hey! Wait! We need to talk to you!” Dean said going after the white figure. Sam and I following. A woman comes down the stairs and she looked at Dean like she knows him. “Dean.” She says to him, and it looks like she does. “Do I know you?” He asked. “We go way back.”
Tumblr media
Tessa walked down the stairs in front of us. “You don't remember me?” she asked Dean. “Honestly, if I had a nickel for every time, I heard a girl say that... You're gonna have to freshen my memory.” Tessa then surprises us all by pulling him forward and gives him a soft kiss and let’s go. "Tessa” Dean says with a knowing expression in his eyes. “That's one of my names, yeah.” “So, you do know each other?” I questioned. “From the hospital after the accident.” “Wait the one with Dad?” He nodded. “So, this is the reaper that came after you.” Sam questions looking at them both. “Yeah” Tessa then turns to the stairs to go up to the kid I’m presuming.
“Well, this was fun. Now, if you'll excuse me—” “Wait, wait, wait, wait, you can't—you can't take the kid.” Dean stops her. “Why?” “Demons are in town, that's why. They've already snatched your reaper pal. The kid knows where.” “So?” “So, you should leave, or you could be next.” I said to her. “Except that this town is off the rails.” When we are talking to her Mrs. Griffth is getting ready to go somewhere while Sam and I watch her. “And someone has to set it straight.” She said to us. “Yeah, we understand that, but these are special circumstances.”
Dean said, trying to reason with her. “What? Your whole angel-demon dance-off? I could care less. I just want to do my job.” I wish I could do that. “Right, yeah, and, look, we want to help you do your job. So, if you would just bail town— “Sam starts to say. “No.” “Well, then, could you hold off until we fix this? Please.” Dean asked, pleading with his eyes. “All right, but just so we're clear, when I start reaping again, I'm starting with the kid.” Damnit “Okay well I'll go find him.” I said starting to go upstairs but Dean stopped me. “Wait, wait, wait, wait. What— What are you gonna say to him?” I answered honestly. “The truth.” I said as all three starred after me like I was crazy.
Tumblr media
As I walked up to Cole's room, I hoped that I could approach him in a delicate way and still tell him. “Cole? It’s me Y/n” I looked to the closet door and saw it was closed and I went over to knock on it. “Cole, I just want to talk.” He opened the door with his ghost powers, and he was sitting on the ground with his head in his knees. “How did you know I was in here?” He asked me. “When I was your age, I used to hide in here too.” I sat down next to him. “This all must be pretty overwhelming, huh? Pretty scary, too.” I hoped he could see I wanted to help him. “The worst is my mom.” “Must be hard seeing her like this.” “She's always coming in here, talking to me, telling me how sad she is. I knock some stuff over to let her know I'm here, but...she only gets sadder.”
“When someone I loved passed, I was like your mom I basically kept on talking to a ghost.” I said referring to myself when Dean died and went to hell. “I don't know why you're telling me this. I'm not telling you where the smoke is.” “Cole, I’m telling you this to help you when I was like your mom, I had someone help me so maybe you can be that for her.” “She feels your spirit, that's why she's sad because she can't be with you. So, imagine how she will feel when you move on.” He doesn't speak. “When you go, I'll be right next to you, so you won't be alone. I promise.” He looks up. “Promise” “Promise”
Tumblr media
Cole and I walk downstairs as I clear my throat. “It's okay, Cole. Just tell them what you told me.” “I saw the black smoke at my funeral.” “At the cemetery?” Dean questioned. “At the funeral home. It was everywhere.” It makes sense for reapers, funeral homes. Then the lights started to flicker again. “You doing that?” Dean asks Tessa. “No.” The doors burst open, and the black smoke invades all over the room and I can't see for a second and when it's gone so is Tessa. “Tessa!” “Cole, you, okay?” I asked him. He nodded his head. “Well, how the hell are we supposed to fight that?” Dean asked, sounding annoyed. “Good question, learn some ghost moves.” I suggested. “By tonight? Yeah, sure. I'll meet you back at Mr. Miyagi's.” I shrugged. “Who's Mr. Miyagi?” Cole asked and the three of us just between us and feeling old and me sad for Cole for not seeing the legendary Karate kid.
Tumblr media
Cole was teaching us how to move a windmill and it was harder than I thought it would. Right now, Dean was trying. “It's not gonna move if you don't concentrate.” “I am concentrating.” Sam and I both raise our eyebrows at each other. Dean moves it a little bit. “Ah, here we go, baby.” And it stops. “You pull a muscle?” Cole said and let me tell you he is a funny twelve-year-old. “All right, Yoda, let's see what you got.” Cole tries and the windmill and the porch bench goes crazy with wind. “Nice Cole, that is so cool!” I said to him fist bumping him.
“Dude! You are so Amityville.” Cole smiles. “This isn't even the good stuff.” We were now in the living room learning how to punch. Cole punches Sam and he folds over. “See? If you want to hit something, you just got to get mad.” Oh, I can get mad. Sam stands back up out of breath. “Yeah, got it.” “Now you try. Hit me.” Cole said Dean. “Uh, I think I'll stick to just picking on somebody my own size.” Cole then punches Dean and Sam and I both laugh. Dean then goes to punch Cole back, but he vanishes. “Whoa. Whoa, you got to teach us that.” I said to him.
Tumblr media
Dean, Sam, and I walked over to the funeral home, and it was covered in glowing blue diagrams, mostly six-sided figures, some in circles and some in squares, all with lines through them and squiggles inside the triangles thus formed. “This looks like New Jack City. Can nobody see this?” Dean questioned. “Maybe it's demon invisible ink. Only see it in the veil.” Sam answered. “It could be keeping out Angels.” I add in. “We'll find out.” We walk in and in the middle of the room, there is a square with triangles on each side to form an eight-pointed star, with squiggles at each point. Lying in the figure are Tessa and an old man in a suit, presumably the first reaper.
A Demon was standing guard next to the star. “Watch and learn boys.” I said going behind the Demon and tapping him on the shoulder and when he turned, I punched him and when he tried, I disappeared. Dean then comes to the other side and does the same and Sam knees him in the chest. It was an all sibling beat down. He scrambled away to a hide behind a coffin. We followed him and we didn't see the other demon behind us, and he pulled a rope that brought down an iron rod that dropped and trapped us in. A third Demon walked, and it was my favorite fucking one Alice in wonderland.
Tumblr media
Alastair approaches us with a shotgun and shoots Dean, and he disintegrates. “Rock salt's not so much fun anymore, is it?” Sam and I glare at him as Dean reappears. “Alastair. You bastard.” “Well, go on. Why don't you try some of your mojo on me now, hotshot?” We can't do anything. Usually, I love Iron and rock salt but today it's a pain in the ass. “You know what Alice, why don't you hop your way back to Hell.” I said grinding my teeth.
“Ah the little Winchester you may be a bitch, but you got some kick It's going to be fun peeling your skin off. And I would go back. They just keep sending me back up to this arctic craphole.” “To kill death?” “No, to kill death twice. It takes two to break a seal. I figured another one would show up, though. They're like lemmings.” He cocks the gun again and this time he shoots me. I reappeared and son a bitch that hurt. “You can shoot us all you want, but you can't kill us.” “Ah, that so?”
Tumblr media
Alice now has a giant scythe in his hands. “Anyhoo… moons in the right spot. The board is set. Let's get started, shall we?” “You're gonna kill a reaper with that? It's little on the nose, don't you think?” Dean said. “Is it? “An old friend lent it to me. You know, he doesn't really ride a pale horse? But he does have three amigos.” He walked over to the reapers. “And they're just jonesing for the apocalypse. It pays to have friends in low places. Don't you think?” Alastair picks up the old reaper and enacted the incantation and kills him. As he does this Sam and I look up at the chandler and have the same idea. He then goes for Tessa and Sam, Dean and I concentrate on the chandler to bring it down. It falls down and breaks the trap and Tessa is able to break free. She unhooks our trap and we’re able to get out. “Bye-bye.” Dean said and the four of us vanish.
Tumblr media
We get back on the street and Dean and Sam are not here. “Where are your brothers?” Tessa asks me. “I'll find them when you get out of here.” She leaves and I go looking down some alleyways “SAM! DEAN!” I yell. “You can't run. Y/n. “I turn and their standing is Alastair. I back away and he follows “Not from me. I'm inside that angsty little noggin of yours.” He's about to attack but instead a white, blue lighting strikes him. “What the Hell?” “Guess again.” I turn back around, and Cas is there.
“What just happened? You guys just saved a seal. We captured Alastair. y/n, this was a victory.” “Were you here the whole time?” I ask him. He looks away. “Enough of it.” Great. “Well, thanks for your help with the rock salt.” “That script on the funeral home—we couldn't penetrate it.” “It was enochian I was right” “Why do you think I recruited you guys in the first place?” Wait hold up. “You recruited us?” I ask. “That wasn't your friend Bobby who called, y/n. It wasn't Bobby who told Sam about the seal.” “That was you?” He nodded looking down.
“If you want our help, why the hell didn't you just ask?” “Because whatever I ask, your brother seems to do the exact opposite.” “Cas you could have asked me, I would have helped you.” “You shouldn't have to.” “So, what now, huh? The people in this town, they just gonna start dying again?” “Yes.” “These are good people. What, you think you can make a few exceptions?” “You did for Dean” “He’s different. So are you.” “What does that mean?” I ask him. “Y/n? I could use your help.” It's Tessa and when I turn back to Cas he's gone.
Tumblr media
Cole is staring at his mom again and she is looking at a photo book of Cole. “Look at her, Cole. Do you see how unhappy she is?” Tessa said, trying to convince him. “That's why I want to stay with her.” “As long as she can feel you, she'll be in pain, because she can't let go. Because you won't let go of her.” “Why won't anybody tell me what's on the other side?” “Maybe nobody wants to ruin the surprise.” “That's not an answer.” “She won't answer you, Cole. Reapers never do. But trust me. Staying here is a whole lot worse than anything over there.” I said to him. “Why?” “Because one day, your family will be gone, and there'll be nothing left here for you. It's okay to be scared.” “I'm not scared.” “We're all scared. I'm scared every day that I won't be able to save my family. It’s okay to be scared Cole.” He pauses.
“Are you coming?” He asked me. Staring at him I walk over to him and hug him. “I won't but you will be okay. I know being scared feels horrible, but I have a secret. I turn that into bravery for the people I love because they deserve it. I know you can do it too.” He let me go. “Thank you, Y/n, for telling me the truth.” And with that he walked over to Tessa and hugged her, and he melts into a white light. “Look out for that boy.” “Look out for yourself, Y/n.” “What do you mean?” “I've been around death from the get-go. You know what I see most? Lies. "He's in a better place." "At least they're together now." You all lie to yourselves, Y/n 'cause like you said, deep down, you're all scared. Stop lying to yourself, Y/n.” “What” “The angels have something good in store for your brother. A second chance. Really? 'Cause I'm pretty sure, deep down, you know something nasty's coming down the road. Trust your instincts, Y/n. There's no such thing as miracles.” “What the Hell are you saying?” I didn't get an answer as I woke up.
I wake up with a deep breath and look around to see my brothers and Pam hurt. “What happened?” I question racing to her side. “Y/n, where's Tessa?” “She's…” “Pamela, I'm so sorry.” Sam said, getting emotional. “Stop.” “You don't deserve this.” “Yeah, I don't. I told you I didn't want anything to do with this. Do me a favor? Tell that bastard Bobby Singer—to go to hell forever introducing me to you three in the first place.” “Take it easy, Pamela. If it's any consolation, you're going to a better place” I said to her comforting well trying. “You're lying.” She was right, I was. “But what the hell, right? Everybody's got to go sometime.” “Y/n come here.” I go over to her and lean down. “The Angel you have on your shoulder might be more devil than you think. Be. Careful.” I backed away. Then she called over Sam. When she was done, she started to cough. She passed. “Pamela!” Dean yelled and then looked up at Sam. “What did she say to you?” Sam doesn't answer.
Tumblr media
Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed it! I am so sorry this took so long. Part of it was writer's block and life and the other was that this is not my favorite episode, but I thought it be important to the story. But the next episode is head on the pin and oh my gosh it's probably one of my fav episodes from season four. So, look out for that!

Here is a question to get your brain pumping and ready to start yapping for the day. What characters do you like, or even love, that you feel aren't talked about in the community or with friends as much as they should be? Or to put it simply, underrated.
Mine are Kujou Sara and Natasha. Sara having the prettiest design in GI imo, and I'm willing to lose a limb in a heartbeat if it meant getting healed by Natasha.
As always, have a great day, and if it's already not going so well, hope it gets better.

You're so sweet I'm tired as hell from today though I just got out of work 😭😭 but thank you :3 I HOPE YOU HAD A NICE DAY TOO
Anyway onto the ACTUAL ask!!! Mmmmmmm I could be SUPER biased with one of these but I actually have a handful: Yae Miko, Kokomi, and Lisa. I don't have any from HSR bc I'm not really involved in the fandom, but those three are my DEFINITES in Genshin, ESPECIALLY Kokomi. I'll explain utc bc this is SO FUCKING LONG (laughed) but do keep in mind that like I haven't played Genshin in a while, haven't kept up with the events minus some spoilers I glanced upon
Unless I've been a blind bat the entire time, you no longer really see Kokomi being discussed en masse. Before she actually APPEARED in game, you had that huge debate going on about whether she was going to end up being the hydro sovereign and that she was going to be this morally-grey strategic leader who believed that the end justified the means. I could have expected too much, but really? No, considering all the shit Hoyo could pull (literally look at Fontaine and their constant loredrops), they could've done SO much better. I think the issue was that Inazuma was so atrociously written, as much as it IS my favourite region, and that unfortunately Mexican waved over to the characters themselves too
She seemed RELEVANT to the lore, with her constellation and the whole thing with Enkanomiya. But her importance was so quickly pushed aside by possibly the worst character butchering I've ever seen for all the buildup they did, and now any other theory relating to her being less than human's been axed bc of Fontaine (all the love to the nation and Neuvi I suppose but I'm really salty about this) and the constant push that she's just a normal human being. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe Hoyo's just pushing the "Kokomi is normal and plain" agenda really hard to surprise us all later and ai wouldn't put it past them but rn? She's essentially faded and forgotten for the most part, being brushed aside as a girl who got pushed to be a leader and is going all Atlas complex (which isn't a bad thing btw, it's just the fact that they hyped her up as the Shogun's most formidable opponent only for it to fall flat) and it's. REALLY sad for me considering how she was actually my MAIN reason why I kept playing for a while
Onto Yae Miko, who faces the same issue that Kokomi does in the sense that due to said atrocious writing, she suffered for it. I think I picked her not only bc of how ofc Inazuma's basically being swept under the rug beyond the events they do bc it was THAT fucking bad, but also due to the Constant Fucking Discussions of character misinterpretation and her queercoding
Thank you twt for all the threads made about Yae Miko's depth in character, but Inazuma itself is fading into obscurity to the point that all the stuff you really see being talked about her is how manipulative she is and how she uses people cuz idk she's evil ig. Do? People? Not know? What 'morally grey' is? Or what 'priorities' are? Maybe she's talked about more than the other two that I've picked, but she isn't talked about in a flattering light for the most part!!!!!! Which is such a shame bc Miko's characterisation is so beautifully complex (at least to me) and all of that's just thrown aside for the sake of "haha flirty evil femme fatale" when there's so much more you could say about her that doesn't describe her as evil and shallow
Lastly is Lisa!!!! My og lesbian!!!!!!! My og loml!!!!!!!!! Who doesn't get talked about a lot unless someone's out ranting about how Lisa was being a creep lol. GOD I have such a gripe against her issue
I get that Mond's also basically fading to obscurity, not bc of bad writing but rather bc of how it was the first ever region you get. Though even when I say that, I do remember seeing someone complain about how Mond sucks bc of exactly that, which......that's the point. One of the complaints wuwa got (sorry wuwa) was the Constant Stream Of Infodumping basically two seconds after you boot up the game. Mond is sparse and simple bc it eased you into the game gently instead of throwing you into hell in the get-go. Unfortunately, it's exactly bc of that that Mond's, again, fading into obscurity too
So this part applies to the other Mond characters too, though the reason why I chose Lisa was bc of the whole debate of whether she's weird or not due to her penchant for flirting with the Traveller. Ofc everyone has their own objective opinion on the matter, and being uncomfortable with her lines is perfectly okay!! This isn't me saying those who feel uncomfy are the ones who are weird or anything, this is me saying that Lisa is so much more beyond what you see initially. She was the Akademiya's genius before she left, got a Vision by just 'what if'ing it one day, has to be lazy or else she can so easily destroy a wide area just cuz idk her feelings went overdrive or something!!!!! Not to mention the whole "she might die soon" thing 🫠🫠🫠
Ofc I also chose these chrs bc like. I LOVE them with my whole heart and would happily kiss them when given the chance, but my opinions run DEEEEPER than just "they're silly to me". Just saying, they should be talked about SO much more than they are rn, as much as I get that we've more than moved on from the regions they're in. Who knowd, maybe Hoyo will actually idk propose to me or smth by making them all relevant the moment I come back on, but I'm not really hopeful atm

𝓲𝓶𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓮 - bloopers
𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 - you're a part of the supernatural cast and, sometimes, filming an episode just doesn't always go the way it's supposed to go when misha, alex, jensen, jared and evangeline are all in an episode together.
𝓪𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓻'𝓼 𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮 - your name is evangeline and you are jensen's wife as you can see and this will be kinda made up but i do have some transcripts pulled up as i write this so you may see some familiar lines and stuff! the scenes and them in character will be in italics and the normal font is the cast talking off-camera.

𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐯
today was the day  that we were going to be filming cece, my character's, fake death scene for season fourteen because, surprise shawty, cece isn't dead just yet! due to the death scene being fake and cece getting revived later on in the epsiode, eric kripke and bob singer were going to make today's episode as lighthearted as possible during filming. especially when its considered that my actual last episode on supernatural wasn't going to come until the season finale of season fourteen, we wanted to have as much fun as we could filming my "death" then making it sad for no reason when cece is going to be coming back.
strolling into hair and makeup, my makeup ladies, jodi and tara smile at me before i hopped into my seat. i smile back at them in the mirror as i place my coffee down in front of me.
"hey girly, how are you this morning?" jodi questioned as she started straight away on my makeup even though it was basic with some blood and dirt added in later on
"hey jodi! i'm doing good, i'm excited to film the death scene as i feel as though we'll mess up a lot!" i chuckle softly as jodi and tara smile as well, tara playing with my hair
"you think?" tara perks up as she continues to brush my hair as i giggle, trying to stay as still as i could so jodi wouldn't mess up my makeup
"oh for sure! eric and bobby did say they were going make the filming for todays episode as lighthearted as possible because there isn't any use to make today's filming depressing when i'm here until the season finale, you know?" i explain as jodi and tara nod their heads as i chuckle softly
"ahh, that makes sense!" tara smiled as she finished my hair, leaving it brushed but still messy enough that when i "died" it would still look like i was killed
i giggled and talked a little bit more with jodi and tara before it was time for me to head to the set. the first thing we were filming was the death so it would be out of the way and could then focus on everything else.
"you ready?" i hear a gruff voice from behind me and i smile, knowing straight away that it was my husband, jensen
"yeah, i'm ready. are you ready, jensen?" i respond back as he chuckles softly, resting his chin on my shoulder as i grunt due to heaviness
"yes i am ready...but, i don't think jared's ready though..." jensen trailed off as all of a sudden, an exhausted jared shuffles onto the set and i pout softly at our little big moose
"...aw, moose, what's wrong?" i pout, standing up and pulling moose in for a hug
"i couldn't fall asleep until three in the morning..." he sounded really grumpy and upset as i pouted again, hugging me tighter
"...how come? is everything okay at home?" i question, sounding rather serious as he pulls out of the hug and nods his head yes immediately, giving me confidence but, why could he not fall asleep until three?
"yeah...yeah, oh my gosh yes, everything's fine at home! i...for some reason just couldn't fall asleep!" jared clarified straight away, rubbing at his tired eyes as jensen spoke up
"yeah, that is weird jare because that happened to me last week, remember e? it took me until at least close to two in the morning to get me to fall asleep?" jensen spoke up as i nod my head, suddenly remembering last week when jensen was struggling to fall asleep
"very weird but, maybe it's nothing we have to worry about as it could just be due to the weather changing," i shrugged, so i didn't worry myself and j2 as they nod their heads
"maybe but, still, very weird," jared mumbled quietly as i nodded my head and handed jared his coffee
"anyway you two, you need to be in hair and makeup as i've already had mine done and we need to have our brief with bobby and eric before we start since we're starting with cece's fake death!" i call out as j2 nod their heads, jared instantly drinking his lukewarm coffee as a smile appeared on his face the moment the coffe entered his mouth and i smiled at the simple joy that feeling gave to the exhausted moose
jensen and jared had suddenly come back from their hair and makeup, now donned in their iconic flannels, jackets and jeans as we made our way to our two directors so we could start filming the scene.
"you ready?" jensen smirked, lookin at me as tara from hair and makeup stayed behind the camera so she could add in the extra blood and muck in between pauses of takes
"as i'll ever be!" i smirked as bobby called "action!"
"...cece?" dean called out, hoping to god that he was going to find her before it was too late
"dean...dean?" cece's tried and scratchy voice rang out as sam and dean perked up, the two brothers looking at each other with some form of hope that cece was still alive
"cece! are you okay?" dean called out again as cece groaned and managed to stand herself up from the wall, turning the corner and seeing sam and dean, a relieved smile covering her face
"dean! sammy!" cece called out, relief in her voice but before the girl could start running, she gets stabbed in the back
"CECE!" sam shouts, running forward as the girl topples down the second the knife is retracted as she bleeds from her mouth and falls to the ground
just out of reach of reacing sam's arms as dean starts to panic, moving close to the girl, "no, no, no! don't you dare!" dean panicked as he tried his hardest to stop the bleeding but to no avail
everything was going so well, our scene was perfect...that was until i started to giggle due to the fact i was struggling hide stagger my breathing to make it look as though i was dying. jensen groaned as he was doing so well and jared just started to giggle as well.
"i'm sorry! i couldn't do the breathing thing properly!" i giggled as jensen groaned, wiping his eyes so we could re-do the scene
"rolling, go back from 'cece, are you okay?' and go!" eric called out as we were back in character once again
"cece, are you okay?" dean called out, cece groaning as she managed to find the strength to stand up from the wall that the demon had thrown her against as she turned the corner, a smile of relief covering her face as she saw the two brothers
"dean! sammy!" cece called out, the relief in her voice pure as she went to start running to the boys when suddenly, it seemed as if the demon had come back to finish her, stabbing her in the back
"EVANGELINE! i said evangeline!" jared retracts as he realises he yelled out my actual name instead of "cece"
"goddamnit jared!" i groan as he chuckled as he was back at his mark as i went back to mine before i fall to the ground
however, we just kept on messing up. jared kept on screaming my actual name for the next three takes, jensen kept on swearing because he was getting his own mark correct and the cast and crew on the set with j2, misha, alex and i just couldn't stop laughing. hopefully, this take of this scene was the one! yet, i don't think i should be so confident.
"cece?" dean called out, hoping to god that he was going to find her before it was too late
"dean...dean?" cece's tired and scratchy voice rang out as sam and dean perked up, the two brothers looking at each other with some form of hope that cece was still alive
"cece! are you okay?" dean called out once again as cece groaned and managed to stand herself up from the wall, turning the corner and seeing dean and sam, a smile of relief covering her face
"dean! sammy!" cece called out, the relief in her  voice pure as she went to start running to the boys when suddenly, it seemed as though the demon had come back to finish her, stabbing her in the back
"CECE!" sam shouts, running forward as the girl topples down the second the knife is retracted as she bleeds from her mouth and falls to the ground
just out of reach of getting caught in sam's arms as dean started to panic, moving closer to the girl, "no, no, no! don't you dare!" dean panicked as he tried his hardest to stop the bleeding but to no avail
however, just like the first time, something went wrong. instead of me messing up or jared and jensen messing up, misha had accidentally come into the scene when he wasn't supposed to, flicking my nose as i retract in shock. squeaking out a 'geh' noise which got the entire cast and crew dying of laughter.
"...i...am so sorry!" misha chuckled out breathlessly as i giggled, calming myself down
"oh my gosh, it's totally fine, mish! however, this entire scene will be in the gag reel, that's for sure!" i chuckle out as the mintue we went to redo the take, another two things went wrong
and those two things you might ask? jared tripped over me and then jensen fell directly on top of me.
"...ow...jense, get off of me!" i breathe out, struggling to push my husband off of me as we both die of laughter
"i'm trying!" he was hysterically laughing as he tried to pull himself off of me but it took another two minutes worth of strength for him to push himself off as i took in a heavy breath
"my god, fucking jesus christ! remind me to never give you a piggyback in the future!" i chuckle out as he gives me a look of offense as i giggle again
"that is offensive! i'm not that heavy!" jensen pouted, looking down at his tummy as i smile at him, letting him know i was totally joking
he then lets out a small chuckle as we go back to our marks to see if this is next take will be our final take that we so desperately at this point, need.
"okay! back from the top, come on guys we need to get it together! all of us do, let's go and misha, do you have your mark? jared, jensen and evangeline, action!" eric calls out as he wipes a tear of laughter away and clears his throat as we go back to our marks and do the scene
"cece?" dean called out, hoping to god that he was going to find her before it was too late
"dean...dean?" cece's tired and scratchy voice rang out as sam and dean perked up, the two brothers looking at each other with some form of hope that cece was still alive
"cece? are you okay?" dean called out once again as cece groaned and managed to stand herself up from the wall, turning the corner and seeing dean and sam, a smile of relief covering her face
"dean! sammy!" cece called out, the relief in her voice pure as she went to start running to her boys when suddenly, it seemed as though the demon had come back to finish her, stabbing her in the back
"CECE!" sam shouts, running forward as the girl topples down the second the knife is retracted as the girl bleeds from her mouth, falling to the ground
just out of reach of getting caught in sam's arms as dean started to panic, moving closer to the girl, "no, no, no! don't you dare!" dean panicked as he tried his hardest to stop the bleeding but to no avail - the blood was everywhere
"c'mon cece, don't you dare do this to me!" dean whimpers as sam gulps before he felt a rush of air behind him - it was cas and jack
at the sudden arrival of air and light, dean and i look up to see castiel and jack, mustering smiles, dean and i looked up towards the angel and nephilim. in the hopes that maybe they could save me?
"cas...jack..what...what can we do? can...can we save cece? can you guys do that?" dean rushes out in panic as he is suddenly covered in blood as he breathes heavily whilst i lay limp in his arms
"i can try my very hardest with jack's help but, it may take a day or two," castiel's deep voice spoke as he looked at the brothers with empathy for the situation they were in, jack nodding his head
"so...so you can save cece?" sam perks up as the younger brother looks over at their angel and nephilim friends with hope in his face
jack nods his head with a small smile, "i mean, that's what we do, sam. what good of an angel or a nephilim would we be if our healing powers didn't heal?" cas smiled softly as sam relaxed, however dean...dean was the complete opposite, he was in utter panic
"what will i have to do to make sure she stays alive?" dean whispered, finally looking up from my body to the angel and nephilim who smiled sadly at the distraught older winchester
"you won't have to do anything. you won't have to make any deals with crowley or anyone, due to her injury being a stab wound to her back, i'm sure it's a quick fix. just some stitches and a bandage and with some bed rest for a week or two, she'll be right as rain again," cas smiled softly, bending down to dean and my body as dean hesitated slightly
"what...what are you doing cas?" dean spoke with fear in his voice, not knowing why cas had bent down to me and dean
"i need to take her with me jack so we can heal her! she can't stay here with you!" cas spoke softly, trying a second time to reach his arms out to grab my limp body
dean gave another unsure look to cas and jack before sam, the younger winchester, spoke up.
"c'mon dean, let cas and jack take cece, they're not going to hurt her. they have to heal her but to do that, you have to give cece to cas. c'mon, let her go!" sam spoke softly as dean took a big breath in and reluctantly transferred my limp body over into cas' arms
and, within a flash of light, cas and jack had taken me away to patch me up and heal me...
"...and cut!" eric calls out as the scene of the start of my fake death had finished as we instantly began laughing again
"that was fanastic guys! misha's mark was perfect, jared and jensen delivered their liens perfectly, alex the way you told such a story without saying anything was amazing and evangeline, you also captured the emotion perfectly! well done guys, j2, you guys are on in fifteen and misha, alex and evangeline, you guys are on in ten! be ready!" bobby calls out after as we all thank bobby and eric as we go to get cleaned up
walking back to the makeup trailer with my boys, jared, jensen, misha and alex and i couldn't help but giggle to myself. that took way longer than it should have but, that's the beauty of supernatural. sometimes, the best scenes occur after the tenth or so blooper.

My husband's friend and his family decided to drive out from San Antonio last night instead of sometime today, which is cool with me. They got here sometime after I went to bed, and I'm up and getting ready for work before anyone else is up lol, so I won't see them until this afternoon after work anyway 🤷‍♀️
Today should be very busy; due to natural forces outside of our control (crazy weather affecting the honey flow and general bee behavior) and forces within the owners control which were simply not managed well (the farm's needs and general functions being neglected due to a nasty divorce between the two owners 💔), bee pick up season has been a delayed, chaotic mess. A lot of pick ups were pushed back to this weekend; we had a few pick ups yesterday, which is unusual, just to lighten the burden. But we're really rolling them out today and tomorrow. And I've been expected to help run the kitchen while the kitchen lead is on vacation while also somehow being full time at retail. Yesterday I tried to get into the kitchen early to assess needs and make a list for the girls working that day; thankfully the butt-ton of work I did last week paid off and they had the bare minimum of prep to do. I still had a ridiculous grocery list to gather after work, and the order I placed for equipment from Webstaurant still hasn't arrived, nor the parts I ordered for the espresso machine that someone managed to lose 😒. We may not have lattes for breakfast service tomorrow lol. But I made a fresh batch of honeybuns, and had to trust that these kids, who have been coddled by the kitchen lead (their mom) for over a year while they worked in this kitchen, can figure out some basic prep and cleaning tasks. I had to teach them how to read a very basic recipe yesterday. 😭 They're good kids, just not good employees lol. I wouldn't normally care except that I am being held responsible for the well being of the cafe right now, and everyone else's mistakes are a reflection of my leadership.
I can't be in the kitchen again today, despite us being open earlier and longer to accommodate it being a Friday and a bee pick up day. Again, I'm going to try to jump in there as soon as I arrive this morning and assess the situation, then craft a task list and pray for the best. The kids are alone for the first three hours, then they are joined by another inefficient coworker lol. Again, I love this gal; she's one of my favorite people at the farm in general. But she's an unattached college kid who doesn't really care if the day is a nightmare or not, so she isn't going to be much support in making sure things run smoothly. During our last pick up, when I was supposed to be in the kitchen, I had to take over her duties in retail organizing and initiating the bee pick up event, because she simply didn't care. She showed up late and put in zero effort to initiate the event, let alone understand what was needed of her to communicate properly with the customers. The kitchen lead and I had to run bee pick up while the bee keepers caught up, it was a nightmare. And the girls were left to the few but steady customers that came to the cafe, and it was overwhelming for them when it needn't have been. They should be more than capable by now of running the place on their own, but obviously they weren't the issue that week. I'm just hoping to glob that they can hold on for dear life today lol. I'll be in the kitchen for breakfast service tomorrow, then back to retail to help run pick ups in the afternoon.
I'm not exhausted or stressed at all, why do you ask??
