haii !! for your fluffy friday:
hobie brown x reader and reader got one of those american girl doll baby dolls (i forgot what theyre called) so hobie and reader can take care of it like its a real baby 🤗
Hi, angel! Thank you for your request, hope you like it ❤️
Pairing: Hobie Brown x Fem! Reader/ Spider-Punk x Fem! Reader
Tags: no use of Y/N, no specific physical description of the reader, Reader is pregnant, Fluff.
It's Fluffy Friday!
ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
You and Hobie wave goodbye to Mayday, she pouts in her dad's arms, not ready to go home yet. Baby blues tearing up, her lip wobbles. Peter tries to console his daughter. The portal swirls in your living room, bathing it in a yellow glow. You cringe at how your stuff will fall harshly on the floors once it closes.
"You'll see them again, don't you miss mama?" He bounces her in his arms. Mayday only frowns more at her father's question, emotions running high.
"Mm-hmm, I'm sure your mommy misses you a lot, Mayday" you coo at the toddler, cradling your baby bump. You're about to burst any day now.
Hobie hands Peter Mayday's baby bag, "yeah, we'll just be here waiting for you" he ducks down to meet Mayday's teary eyes, shaking her tiny hands, trying to bring comfort. You grin at the interaction, hormones making you tear up.
"Thanks guys, I really need to get her home before she throws a tantrum. See ya!" Peter makes Mayday wave her hand by using his own. "Say bye bye, Mayday! Hit me up if you need any help, okay?" she finally wails as her dad steps inside the portal. Her cries get cut off by the portal closing.
"Oof glad I'm not Peter right now" you huff, turning around to look for Hobie, "Hobie?"
He crouches down to pick up a baby doll left on the floor. Shaking it in his grip, "D'you think she was crying because of this?"
"I don't think so, she barely played with it" you shrug, wobbling to him, taking the doll in his hands. Still accustomed to taking care of an actual baby, you cradle the toy like it's alive. "We can give it back to Pete next time they visit"
Hobie cracks an endearing smile, he's seen you hold Mayday before with the same enthusiasm but something about you carrying a smaller baby albeit a toy one unlocks something in his mind. He's absolutely excited to have the little one in your arms.
"You look really fit right now" Hobie eyes you up and down, whistling. You make pregnancy look good.
You roll your eyes, "what?" Not believing the words he uttered "my shirt is covered in baby food," you sniff at your collar. "Yep, mango baby food. And I haven't washed my hair in days"
Hobie leads you in his arms by your elbow, holding you close, the baby doll right in the middle of your cuddling, stomach making it hard to embrace him properly.
You suddenly realize what he really meant, knowing him well. Basically reading his mind when he lays his head on your shoulder, tired from chasing around Mayday all over the flat; hand rubbing soft circles over your tummy. The other kneads at the small of your back, massaging the aching muscle.
He's been so supportive the entire pregnancy, even with all your weird cravings and hormone induced mood swings, Hobie was always there to help ease the burden off of you. You've seen him get more and more excited everyday, bouncing all over the flat to get it ready for the baby.
"Yeah? I look good?" Bouncing the toy in your arms, you smirk at Hobie.
"Mm-hmm," Hobie peppers your face with sticky kisses leaving you all giggly and smiley. "So" kiss "bloody" kiss "good"
"Okay" laughing in between "calm down this is the reason why I'm pregnant" instead of pulling away, you encourage him by leaving your own kisses on his cheeks.
After a moment of you attacking his face with your lips, you finally pull away, scrunching your nose endearingly at Hobie with a lopsided grin. His hand never leaves your bump.
"Maybe we should keep this for a few days, might be good for practice" He holds the doll by its foot jokingly. You know he's prepared enough to know how to hold a baby properly.
You chuckle, "not a good start, babe" taking the doll with care, cradling its head, you indulge him.
"I haven't got that swaddling thing down"
"Come on then, let's practice" leading him to the bedroom by his hand with a tired but happy smile.

Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 53
Fresh Blood/Army of Ghosts
"Fresh Blood"
Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: no one died in the Bella and Gordon meetup, but if you’re asking if I would survive a vampire attack….not without Sam and Dean there
Wait…do we get Bella AGAIN?? Thank you. Thank you so much, writers. Don’t like that Gordon’s ambushed her
“Sam Winchester’s the antichrist” is just a sentence that’s said with utmost seriousness in this show. I love it here
Bestie is not just morally gray. She’s morally gunmetal. Morally charcoal. (And yet I still think she’s not truly going to betray the boys, but she sure is gonna look like she is)
Nah, I’m with Sam here, that was too close, Dean. You can’t be….if you get turned into a vampire, will the hellhounds have any affect on you?? Asking for a friend
I want this vampire to be lying so badly. I want her to absolutely fool them. Why do I want this??
And immediately taking that back “there was this guy. He was old. Like, 30.” Girl, you are at LEAST 25
How does JPad give the coldest, deadliest stare and also the saddest puppy dog eyes? He’s done both in this scene.
Man. I know Dean just threatened to kill Bella with all the seriousness in the world, but I’m still holding out hope for something else
Wait…is this how/when we lose Gordon as an antagonist? OH SHIT. Gordon got turned into that which he hates most. Maybe don’t taunt a vampire who has you captive….I dunno. I’d like to read a paper on the treatment of Gordon in the show, though. There’s probably a lot of commentary that could be made about him
Vampire Gordon is even more terrifying
Mmmm, original vampire should have killed Gordon when he had the chance. Mourning the loss of your new vampire daughters was the price he paid. It’s no wonder he’s begging Sam and Dean to kill him
Maybe it’s that this season is particularly short, but every single episode has had a monster or victim really twist the knife on what what the Winchesters are feeling about the deal Dean made
Oh that was pure tragedy watching Gordon kill his hunter buddy.
I’m glad Sam’s FINALLY confronting Dean about this. About how Dean’s been acting like his life doesn’t matter at all since he’s only got a year to live (less, now). Catch me crying in the break room. “I wish you would drop the show and just be my brother again.” I can’t do this…(because I’m having Todobros feelings about it)
Gordon…you didn’t have to bring innocent people into it…(I can’t wait to try to find some good writing on Gordon)
RIP Gordon. You deserved better from the writers room.
Not handling it particularly well that this is genuinely the best Dean can do to just be Sam’s brother again: teaching him how to fix the impala because he’s gonna need to learn how to…
"Been On My Mind...": Nah.
"Army of Ghosts"
I'm...not ready to say goodbye to Rose.
Also, it's downright CRUEL of the Doctor to ask her how long she's going to stay with him. He knows the answer isn't forever. He knows it CAN'T be forever. So asking is just mean for both of them.
I don't know how long Rose has been gone for, but...it feels like the world got really comfortable with "ghosts are real and we are going to treat them like nothing happened" REAL QUICKLY.
It's times like these I miss Mickey. He never would have put up with this.
OMG they moved from "ghosts are real" to integrating them into everyday life to WRITING TV EPISODES WHERE GHOSTS ARE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST REALLY FUCKING QUICKLY. TWO MONTHS?? IT TOOK TWO MONTHS???
hOW...I'm not here actually complaining about Freema being in this episode, but it feels odd to have her here THIS CLOSE to when she becomes the next long term companion.
These episodes and the ones in the parallel universe are the biggest ads for wired headphones I've ever watched. They really make me never want to get a set of airpods, I'll tell you that much.
Ew, Jackie. No. Just because Rose has gone places, seen things, had life experiences you never got to doesn't mean she's not still HER. I'm sorry you miss your daughter and the person you remember her being, but THIS? is not it. Talking about how she'll be a strange woman in a marketplace some galaxies away in 40 or 50 years time, but she won't be Rose Tyler. As if we're meant to stay the same way our whole lives, never learn or grow.
All THAT said, Jackie and the Doctor should get to sass each other more often.
Ew. Really don't like Yvonne...
The sphere does not exist. It seems like it exists, like it's just right there when you look at it. And it's in a special room in Torchwood built just for it, so it would make more sense for it to be there than not. But it does not exist, according to Rajesh Singh and his team of Torchwood scientists. Existence is tricky.
(Related: Is watching Torchwood worth it? Or is it full of people like Yvonne? I never got into the spin offs for Doctor Who. I know Jack's in it and there's a guy named Iago(? something close to that, iirc) and...another person to round out a trio of main characters. This has turned into that "no I love all my children equally. There's [correct name], *looks at smudges on hand* [close but incorrect name followed by increasingly incorrect names]")
OMG I WAS JUST SAYING HOW I MISSED MICKEY!!!! AND NOW HE'S HERE!!!
Scary that it only takes three people to fuck up the entire operation. I'm not saying that the way Torchwood was handling this was right or that they actually had things under control (they didn't, but it looked like they did. and to them, it felt like they did). But it took just three people being somewhat turned into cybermen to bring the sphere into actual existence and then bring the rest of the cybermen along with it.
I'm loving this new confidence Mickey has. Love that he can be just friendly with Rose. He's not clingy anymore, he's not guilting her for going of with the Doctor anymore. He's his own man, and I'm proud of him.
WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT WAIT WAAAAAAIT!!! IS DOOMSDAY THE EPISODE WITH THE DALEKS VS. CYBERMEN EXCHANGE I LOVE SO MUCH??? Oh, not to wish my weekend away (especially with the everything else that happens in that episode), but...........

Chapter 3 of The Dove and her Rooster [Bradley Bradshaw]
find all the parts here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Victoria was 19 and Bradley freshly 21 they both applied and got into the Naval Academy. They were beyond happy and even happier when they found out they would be in the same class.
Her parents and 3 younger siblings drove the two to the airport. You couldn't tell who was more excited between the two but her younger siblings were sad to see their sister and Bradley leave them especially Gavin who was only 4 and very attached to all of his sisters and Bradley.
Through the whole drive the two young adults played various car games with Victoria's siblings. Bradley would sometimes whisper the answer to Gavin or Sophia who was 7 to which Victoria and Rachel who just turned 10 would protest.
"Bradley if you try to help them cheat one more time I swear I will kick you out of this car while it's still moving." Bradley made a shocked face as he looked at his best friend and put his hand on his chest, "I tought we were friends! Oh the pain...the betrayal, it hurts!"
Victoria shot him a really look while her siblings all started to giggle or laugh at Bradley's antics.
"Plus I'm pretty sure your lovely parents wouldn't let you do that so tough luck little lady, I am staying."
He shot her a wink just as Sarah turned around with an amused smile on her face.
"Victoria sweetie we talked about this... You can't threaten Bradley whenever he isn't on your side."
The blonde girl couldn't believe the betrayal she just faced from her own mother. She looked at her dad and asked him to say something. Tom looked at the rear mirror at his daughter.
"I'm just the driver, sorry."
She was now even more shocked. First her mother but now her father too, this was a crime. A pout made its way to her face as she mumbled rude.
"Aw Vic don't pout, your lips might get stuck like that and then we'll never find you a boyfriend cuz that ain't pretty."
A loud smack and a hey was heard soon after. What happened you ask? Let's just say Bradley will feel pain for the next 2 days.
Soon enough, they arrived at the airport. The two young adults practically jumped out from excitement.
Time seemed to fly by and it was time for the two to board their plane so they went to hug and say goodbye to everyone. Gavin was the first one to start crying then it was Sophia and soon after Rachel. Victoria and Bradley had tears in their eyes while Tom and Sarah tried their best not to cry.
Bradley crunched down to Gavin's level as Victoria was hugging and saying goodbye to the girls.
"Hey little man look at me. We love you, okay? We're gonna call and Skype everyday, you're gonna start wishing that we'd stop and before you know it we'll be coming to visit or you'll be coming to visit us, okay?"
Gavin wiped his tears away as he said a small okay before hugging the man in front of him and Bradley of course hugged him back.
After they hugged everybody and said their goodbyes they made their way towards the gate.
"Remember to call us as soon as you land!"
Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky shouted after the two to which they turned around and gave a thumbs up. The man couldn't be more proud of his daughter and Bradley as he watched them dissappear from eye sight.
As Victoria and Bradley took their seats the nerves started to kick in.
"I can't believe this is actually happening. We're going to the academy Brad!!"
The curly haired boy chuckled at the girl next to him.
"I know Vic, it's surreal."
As the plane was preparing for take off the two held hands since Victoria was a little nervous because she hasn't flown in a while.
Ironic, right? She always dreamed of becoming a pilot yet she's nervous to sit in a flying airplane.
On their first day of classes they came a bit earlier so they could sit together. When Victoria saw her dorm roomate come in she quickly called her over to sit with them.
"Brad this is my roommate and new friend Natasha Trace, Nat this is my best friend Bradley Bradshaw."
The two shook hands as nice to meet you fell from both of their mouths.
In those 4 years that the 3 spent there, they became inseparable and partners in all things silly. Victoria wanted to prank Bradley? You bet your ass Natasha was helping her. Bradley wanted to get revenge on Victoria? Natasha was letting him into their room while the blonde girl is asleep.
The day Victoria turned 21 was the day she got woken up at 6am and not by choice, it was saturday and the girl was looking foward to sleeping in. What woke her up you might ask? Bradley Bradshaw, a soon to be 23 year old man, jumping on her bed, like a little kid and repeating the words wake up over and over again, each time becoming louder.
If thoughts could kill, Bradley would be long gone but lucky for him and unlucky for Victoria, he was still alive. As Victoria sat up in her bed and screamed what at him, he jumped down from the bed.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TORI!" giving her a quick kiss on the cheek, he went to open the door for Natasha who was carrying a cake with candles which she already lit.
The two started singing happy birthday to the girl as they walked towards her bed. After blowing up the candles Bradley went to cut the cake with the two girls joking to watch out so he dosen't cut himself.
As they were eating the cake, Bradley and Natasha went over their plan for the day.
First she was gonna shower and get ready, then they'll be going out for breakfast, after that she has a Skype call with her family but before that she has to open the presents the two got her then they'll go wandering around town until lunch after lunch they'll head back to their dorms and at 7pm they'll be meeting up again and taking Victoria out.
What they didn't tell Victoria is that Bradley organized for her family to visit tommorow and give her their gifts in person. He knew how much they all missed eachother and wanted to make the girl's day as special as possible.
Her 21st birthday and the day after will always truly be days she'll never forget. Her 2 best friends really went out of their way to make her birthday special and as fun as possible which she was deeply greatful for and cherished the memories she made.
of course~ i'm kinda going through something similar ha... classes are scheduled to start again soon and my anxiety always spikes worse than it does regularly.
RFA with an MC who has Constant Stomach, Head, and Back Pain Due to Anxiety/Stress
---
yoosung kim:
your entire day had been a nightmare.
from participating in classes and working a part time job, you were worn out.
honestly, you felt quite sick.
you hadn’t noticed how much your body was aching until you had finally arrived home.
aiming for your bed, you wasted no time in unpacking before landing straight into your pillows.
the stress and anxiety the day gave you has now left you barely awake, small groans of pain leaving your mouth.
some higher power had given you the gift of sleep for no more than an hour before you were awoken by a phone call.
of course saeyoung would mess with you after he’d seen you on the cctvs walking home exhausted.
yet to your shock, it was yoosung.
you could’ve sworn he told you earlier that he had to study this hour.
quickly composing yourself the best you could, you answered to be greeted with a whined hi.
“hi yoosung” you responded, thinking you had masked your tired state well enough.
but you had always been a poor actor after all.
he paused, before asking “are you okay?”
in this state, you couldn’t be bothered to lie to him, getting into some kind of debate over your wellbeing.
“i’m just... exhausted. my entire body is aching” you admitted.
hearing a small sigh through the other end of the phone, you were about say your goodbyes for the night before he responded, “how come princess”.
his tone matched your upset one, yet with a hint of sympathy added on.
you sighed, responding “i’ve had an exhausting day, it’s taken a tole on me”.
he had to stop, thinking of the best ways to comfort you.
after a few seconds of no response, you continued “sorry yoosung, but i just want to rest right now”.
quickly, he snapped out of his thought process, not realizing the silence he had been giving you.
“that’s alright, please sleep well” he said, before hearing the sound of you hanging up the phone.
once you had come to your senses the following day, you noticed something was off.
french toast wasn’t something that spread in the air often in your apartment.
yet your suspicions were cut short as yoosung came around the corner, noticing your awakened state.
shocked, you began to sit up before being pushed back down, completely caught off guard.
“no work for you today lady, you just rest” he said, before running back out to the kitchen, bringing back a plate of french toast seconds later.
you couldn’t help but smile, yet a question popped up in your mind.
“wait, how am i going to eat this if i can’t sit up” you asked.
“easy, i’ll feed you”, problem solved.
hyun ryu / zen:
boarding the bus with zen, the first thing that caught your attention was the sheer compacity inside.
you two were only planning to take the bus 10 minutes to a new cafe that opened in town.
it was the perfect day to do so.
you and zen had off work, the weather was great, and it wasn’t predicted to be busy.
taking hold of the first railing you could find, keeping zen’s hand in your grip, you couldn’t help but to start getting overwhelmed.
there were so many people looking at you as you got on, and now you were stuck between a bunch of strangers looking you up and down with nothing else to do.
you felt your stomach start to turn, you knew this feeling well.
if you didn’t get off soon, you’d be sick and start crying with everything going on.
8 minutes in, you couldn’t take it anymore.
you had tried to get through by zoning out and thinking about other things, yet nothing was in your favour.
you were terrified, and now physically ill.
mentally preparing yourself, you pulled the string, your hand cutting between two heads of people you’d never seen before.
who knows if they were judging you?
that thought didn’t help a thing.
the bus came to a stop within the next few seconds, and you pulled zen’s hand tightly, practically pulling him off the bus.
“babe, we get off up there” he said, pointing north as the bus had taken off again.
you couldn’t handle a conversation with him right now, you needed to find a washroom.
taking notice of a camp-like washroom set up alongside the park a few steps away, you rushed off.
zen chased you in shock, attempting to grab a hold of your arm, to which you flicked him off of several times before reaching the area.
now he was stuck, not being able to go farther once you dashed into the ladies room.
he stood in a ball of confusion and worry.
you hadn’t acted like this before.
while inside the washroom, you locked yourself in the stall to the back, attempting to collect yourself.
once you came to the realization that your strategy wasn’t working, you just let it all out.
you felt like shit.
god, you had ruined the entire day with zen, embarrassed the two of you, and now you had made yourself physically sick.
you stayed in there for 15 minutes, simply balling your eyes out before deciding to go out and talk to him.
seeing you emerge from the washroom door, he took the best approach he imagined, pulling you into a tight hug as his eyes came across your redden face.
“i’m sorry” you muttered out, your face pressed against his chest.
quickly, he responds “it’s okay jagi, please tell me why you’re so upset”, comforting you with the tone of his voice, making you ease up a touch.
“i, there were so many people on the bus. i got sick, i was so anxious” you let out.
you knew how accepting your boyfriend was, which was why you weren’t shocked by the comforting words he spoke next.
“shhh, i get it, don’t cry”, pulling back a bit to clear the hair from your face.
he continued, saying “do you need anything? some medicine, drink?”
you shook your head, saying “no, i just need to calm myself down for a bit”.
“of course” he said, holding you until you said you were okay again not too long after.
jaehee kang:
“ugh” you let out, walking past jaehee with a throbbing pain in your head.
the cafe was making you unbelievably stressed, it was nothing like you’d ever experienced.
stress was a major downside to your cafes growing popularity, though you didn’t expect it.
little to your knowledge, jaehee heard ur groan, getting away from the counter for a spilt second.
“hm?” she said, before continuing “are you okay mc?”
“i just...” you paused, thinking of your next words.
you didn’t want to lie to her, but you didn’t want to make her worried on top of the already stressful situation.
“my head just hurts” you said, hoping to pass it off as a simple headache.
“are you alright? when did it start?” she asked, concern lacing her tone.
these pains were nothing new to you, but they got worse each and every time.
you had no energy to lie at this point, you were already done in by the day.
“the stress is getting to me, my head always aches when these things happen” you answered.
you could see her facial expression pause, as if she was deep in thought.
yet the expression changed within the minute as she responded “please go home, take the day off”.
you were blown away.
of course you didn’t want to leave jaehee alone, but you knew you couldn’t carry on like this for long.
you quickly argued “i can’t do that, you’ll be left with the stress alone”.
she gave a small smile, glancing at the clock, before responding “thank you for worrying, but i’ll be alright. there’s only an hour before closing and i can tell how bad this is effecting you”.
hence why with hesitation, you took her up on the offer.
you gathered your stuff up to leave, and went on autopilot, waking up the next day covered in warm blankets.
you couldn’t remember a thing after leaving, but you could feel how calm your body became with a bit of stress relief.
and you made sure to give jaehee your biggest thanks the next day.
jumin han:
you had started your new business over the summer.
and being the wife of c&r’s chariman-to-be, naturally people were intrigued.
many were incredibly supportive, although the occasional rumours surfaced from time to time.
crazy ideas you wouldn’t have been able to think of yourself.
suddenly you were the daughter of a president aboard, you and jumin weren’t actually married, and you only used jumin to fund and grow your business.
all completely foolish, never lasting more than a week.
however, this time around was different.
you had woken up to articles suggesting you were having an affair on your husband with your father in law, and that you had been using company profit for your own benefit.
how they came to these conclusions was beyond you, but you let it slide for now thinking it would only last a few days.
certainly nobody would believe this, there was no evidence brought forward and nothing you did had ever hinted towards these claims.
but that wasn’t the case this time.
one week went by and nothing changed.
two weeks went by and you noticed that the rumours had only increased and more was being added to the story.
now three weeks had passed, and things were only getting worse.
you had started getting emails about the rumours and sponsors had started pulling out to stay safe.
not only was it getting to you in a business sense, but your body had become ridden with stress and anxiety.
you woke up everyday in an upset mood, the first thing you noticed after coming to your senses was the back throughout your entire body.
though today it was focused in your abdomen.
this morning was no different from the previous few.
except jumin had stayed home from work for elizabeth the thirds yearly checkup.
he was the overreactive father to his cat daughter.
when he returned home with the news of elizabeths pristine health, he was met with your sleeping figure.
it was something out of the ordinary as you were usually awake at 6am.
yet it was 10am and he was standing beside your sleeping state.
remembering you had work, he shook you with ease to wake you up.
watching as you slowly opened your eyes, and within a snap you jumped up from the position you were lying in.
“what time is it?” you asked your husband frantically.
his eyes widen, slowly answered “it’s 10am, are you alright love?”
you wanted to cry.
you had woken up earlier at your usual time to an upset stomach, took some medication to ease your nerves, and laid down on your phone for a bit.
falling asleep wasn’t the plan.
“i didn’t mean to fall asleep, i need to-” you said, finding yourself in sobs midway through.
you couldn’t continue.
the tears fell uncontrollably, all the stress and worries coming out.
and jumin was at a loss for words.
yet he went to embrace you, calming you down through little words of endearment.
when you were finally calm enough to communicate, he asked “what’s going on?”
you let it all out, though you wanted to hide it from him earlier, you were desperate for things to subside at this point.
“there are all these rumours that have been going around for weeks, stuff about me getting with your father, using profit for myself, and using your entire family for exposure.”
you inhaled, being continuing “i thought they would end, but they keep going on and now it’s effecting my business. i just want it to stop”.
you stopped yourself from breaking down again, quickly composing yourself.
jumin paused, unsure of what to say.
hearing your sobs shattered his heart.
there were so many questions he needed answered, where would he even begin.
thinking for a bit, he asked “why didn’t you tell me earlier? it pains me to see you in tears”.
looking up to meet his eyes, you answered “i didn’t want you to worry”.
you knew it wasn’t an excuse he’d take seriously, but you were honest.
“your wellbeing comes before me, do not worry about my state”.
he had told you that since the day you became a couple.
adding onto that, he said “you’re staying home today. get some rest and i’ll take care of everything”.
you couldn’t argue, and part of you felt relieved getting it off your shoulders.
doing as he asked, you fell asleep again, napping like a baby.
you woke up again sometime around noon, immediately looking through your phone.
a new article caught your eye.
“Chairman Han denies all rumours involving MC and the upcoming business” it read.
you knew it wasn’t over yet, but you found comfort in the fact that it was finally thrown out of the water.
and within the next few days, you noticed your mood return to normalcy along with your body.
the stomach aches, headaches, and back pain disappeared.
you had learned your lesson, and didn’t hide your worries from then on.
saeyoung choi:
you dragged saeyoung out of the house for the night.
being the hard task that it was, you were understandably tired.
but you wouldn’t let that stop the night in front of you from being a success.
you had planned a special date to the movies in celebration of your birthday.
it was a movie you had wanted to see since it came out a year prior.
you were expecting to leave in a scared state of mind due to the movies horror nature.
what you weren’t expecting was the compacity of the movie theatre.
you wouldn’t be quick to admit it, but the sheer look of things frightened you.
it shouldn’t have been that hard to sit down and stare at a screen.
but all your attention was taken off of the movie, now directed at the people around you.
were they looking at you funny?
did you have something on your face?
were they judging you?
these questions wouldn’t leave your mind.
though you made multiple internal attempts to stop it, they just kept coming.
eventually it got too much, the nerves overwhelmed you, and you felt your stomach become physically ill.
you were gonna be sick, you thought.
turning to whisper to saeyoung, excusing yourself from the movie, you left to the washroom.
there were people in the ladies room as well, but they eventually left one by one.
you hung your head over the toilet seat, just waiting for your body to give in.
it was probably best to hide out in the stall for the remainder of the movie, you figured.
and that you tried to do, until saeyoung became suspicious and started looking for you 20 minutes later.
after searching the halls, the only reasonable conclusion left was that you were in the washroom.
he became worried that you were ill and needed help.
hence why he stood outside the door, yelling your name inside.
it caught you off guard, you weren’t ready to face him yet and have an excuse prepared.
though you didn’t have long to stay in your thoughts for long once he yelled your name out again.
leaving your safe area for the foreseeable future, you hesitantly went outside.
the red lining your eyes and your skin beginning to pale was the first thing that came to his attention as you met him outside.
“are you alright?” he asked, his voice full of fright.
“my stomach hurts” you answered, while not technically lying.
you didn’t want to come across as ruining the night by your own fear.
“i’m sorry” you let out, the guilt getting to you.
he hugged you, saying “don’t apologize, please, we’ll go home”.
he didn‘t know exactly why you became sick, but he knew better than to keep you in public while being so sick.
once you arrived home, he asked “did you catch something?” caressing your leg as you sat beside him in the parked car.
“umm” you thought for a second, “i think so”.
he looked you dead in the eye, a full minute passing by, before responding “you’re not a very good liar”.
you looked at him in confusion, trying to pass your lie off as reality.
“please, tell me the truth” he pleaded.
now you were hurting him, you thought.
your lies were too see-through to continue with this, hence why you fessed up.
“my anxiety got the best of me, there were too many people there, it made me sick” you confessed.
you felt the comfort of a hand on your shoulder within a second, feeling shitty for ending your date early.
“i understand” he said, continuing “we can have an even better night at home instead”.
you smiled, glad to see him okay with the current situation.
“of course, thank you” you said.
the rest of the night was full of sweets and cuddles, watching a fluffy drama on the tv.
you fell asleep on the couch together, awoken by saeran the next morning wanting to sit down within saeyoungs foot in his lap.
Never before in your life had you ever experienced such fear. Although the warm sun streamed down in rays, creating a happy scene, you were somewhere else. A place where nothing else mattered except for your daughter. Nerves, anticipation, and dread flooded your veins. Any parent would feel this way, especially under these circumstances. A majority of the time, you wouldn’t consider yourself a “helicopter parent,” even though Bucky and Sam would say otherwise. Now, was an exception because your four year old daughter was learning to roller skate in the cul-de-sac where her grandparents currently reside. Her little hand was interlaced with her father’s and the 6’2 man crouched down to be a bit shorter. He was anything but an expert in this field and that made you even more nervous as he’d occasionally slip. Before you could say anything to him, he’d just put a hand out, signaling that everything was okay, and you’d be left to bite down on your lip, silently channeling your fear.
From the looks of it, one would think you weren’t trusting of your husband and while that wasn’t the whole truth, you just knew he wasn’t the most...graceful and elegant human on planet earth. Rather he was the type of guy to fall and literally laugh it off. That was fine for him, but if your daughter fell on this rocky pavement, well, you’d both have another coming. Or at least that’s what you had assumed.
Sarah’s giggles echoed and you could hear your parents’ shouts of encouragement from the house. You were standing on the end of the driveway, eyes glued to the giant man and the tiny girl, happily skating around. After a few minutes, Sarah finally found her footing, so to say, and was actually skating without Steve’s support.
Finally, you dropped your shoulders and let out a sigh of relief at the two enjoying themselves. It was all going fine until Sarah was turning, like she had done so many times before, but this time happened to catch a rock under a wheel on her right skate.
 In your mind, it all happened in slow motion, making your feet stay grounded, yet your conscience was “running” to her. Steve’s face looked absolutely mortified and he dropped to his knees, ignoring the pain from the harsh contact, he immediately scooped up the girl.
For a moment, her lip quivered and Steve continued to soothingly stroke her hair, gazing into her watering eyes. Just when you thought the dam would break, Sarah swallowed her sobs, shook it all off, and stood from her father’s lap. She even held out a hand to help him up and he looked very shocked. Even more shocked than when you told him you were going into labor, which was quite the experience, one you preferred to not re-live.
Eventually, you joined the two and up close you could see that Steve had a single tear running down his face. You knew his worst fear was failing his daughter, he had told you so many years ago. Sarah noticed Steve’s sorrow and she got down once more to sit back on her heels. With gentle movement, Sarah wrapped her arms around the man’s broad shoulders and pulled him into the most lovable hug you’ve seen in ages.
“It’s okay, Daddy. Please don’t cry! See I’m just as brave as you!”
Your daughter then laid her head on his shoulder, the two of them in their own little world as usual. You hated to break them up, but they were currently sitting in the middle of the road and you’d rather not get hit by a car. Softly, you tapped Steve’s shoulder and he slowly rose up, Sarah in his arms and tired from the scare as well. The three of you made your way back up the driveway and into the house where your mother met you with the same nervous look you had once wore. Once a nurse, always a nurse, for she had a first aid kit in hand. You quickly reassured her and followed Steve back to your rooms.
Summer in New York City wasn’t that much enjoyable, so ever since Sarah had been born, you and Steve come in July to stay at your parents house. Today was Fourth of July and you helped your parents with their annual barbeque. That went well and then the whole roller skating incident happened and now here you were. It was 3 in the afternoon and since it was Steve’s birthday, you had some surprise plans for him later. He was unaware and had assumed you had forgotten his birthday, which you had not.
An hour later, you found Sarah in the pool with your parents while Steve sat on one of the lounge chairs, only khaki swim trunks on. You could tell he’d been out of the pool for a while as his hair was starting to look a bit fluffy. Steve’s eyebrows were furrowed in concentration and in his lap you could see a sketch that he was tediously working on. Your daughter was too busy playing pool volleyball with her grandparents, that the three were yet to notice your presence. Deciding to take matters into your own hands, you strutted over to Steve and sat on the edge of his seat where you gently tapped his leg to gain his attention.
“Whatcha working on, Grant?”
Steve peered up at you, his smile possibly even brighter than the sun that reflected on you both. He silently passed off the sketchbook to you. The sketch depicted the scene happening before your eyes, your parents bonding with Sarah, all of them wearing large grins and laughter. It was the kind of picture that could lift someone's mood in an instant, all because Steve was the best at portraying emotions in his artwork.
“So, birthday boy, I have some plans for you… that is if you are still up to it.” You motioned to his current laid back state and Steve looked down at himself to see what you meant. He was curious as to what you had planned, having told you not to plan anything for his birthday.
“Oh honey, I told you not to do anything.” Steve looked at you disapprovingly, his sunglasses now pulled down so you could feel the full effect of his “glaring.”
“It’s not everyday that a wife gets to celebrate her husband’s...” Pausing, you did some quick mental math (that may have not been accurate) and came to an answer, “102nd birthday!”
At that, Steve lurched forward and pulled you onto his lap, placing a kiss on your temple as his arms tightly wrapped around your waist.
“You spoil me too much, doll.” A simple hum was your only reply and you leaned back into his embrace.
----
About an hour later, both you and Steve got quick showers and tidied up a bit. The only thing Steve had heard about where you were taking him, was that it wasn’t too fancy as you told him to dress casual. As Steve got ready, you asked Sarah if she wanted to come along, but instead she decided to stay back and make some cookies with your mom.
The two of you then met at the front door where you kissed Sarah goodbye and headed off to the car. Just as Steve was about to get in the driver’s seat, you stole the keys from his grasp and gave him a small “tsk tsk” causing the man to laugh. Earlier, while Steve had gotten dressed, you had been able to sneak out and put a prepared picnic basket in the trunk of the car along with a large blanket. For Steve’s birthday, you were taking him to see fireworks at a nearby park. You knew how much of a sucker he was for fireworks and a good, old fashioned, park picnic.
As you pulled into the entrance of the park and globs of people sat out on the field, Steve’s eyes started to sparkle with excitement and you couldn't help but grin at him.
“Babe, is this what I think it is?”
You put the car in park and turned in your seat to fully face Steve, “If you’re thinking fireworks and a picnic, then you’re right. I’m sorry it’s not a lot, but I know how much you-”
Before you could finish your unnecessary apology, Steve sweetly grabbed your face and pulled you in for an enchanting kiss.
“It’s perfect, (y/n).”
Steve’s face softened into a loving look and his azure eyes looked the slightest bit shiny in the moonlight.
You parted away from the man and exited the car, heading to the trunk where Steve met you. He helped carry the picnic basket despite your pleas for him to not do so.
The park wasn't too crowded, but there were just enough people for you and Steve to have to search around for a good ten minutes. Eventually you spotted this place under a tree that wasn’t too surrounded and had a perfect view of where the fireworks would be.
Swiftly, you laid out the plaid picnic blanket and Steve then set down the picnic basket that was filled with the components of your dinner. You began to set out the prepared food, even bringing out a candle, albeit fake, that provided some romantic and not overwhelming lighting.
Since you both had arrived twenty minutes before the show started, it allowed for you and Steve to enjoy the dinner peacefully. You had even packed some desserts but those would be for during the show as a little something to snack on.
Just as the show started, you had finished packing away the last of the Tupperware containers and now settled in between Steve's legs, his chest providing use as a pillow. The man delicately rested his chin on your shoulder and in return, you lovingly rubbed his forearms that laid in your lap.
“Thank you for the best birthday, my love. You’ve given me so much over these past few years and I swear I don’t know what I’d be without you.”
It was a whisper in your ear, but you still heard it over the loud crackling of the fireworks.
With a warm smile and quiet giggle, you brought his hand to your lips and placed a kiss on the back of his hand.
“Only you could pull off such a cheesy line, Rogers.”
Kids Of The Future (Chapter 2)
Mini-Series
Summary: After time traveling from the apocalypse in 2019, a surprise waits for Diego and Y/N as they arrive at Dallas, Texas circa 1960.
Pairing: Hargreeves x sibling!reader, Diego Hargreeves x reader
Word Count: 1.7k words
Warning: mention of violence, mention of sex, mention of trauma
'You did awesome today! See you next week buddy!' I high-fived my student, then waved goodbye to him as he ran off to his mother. It was days like this when I was okay with my life after getting sent to the 60s, when I see the smile on the children's faces.
After discussing with Diego on how to live our lives while we wait for our siblings, I had a plan on how to make money for us and the baby. Using our powers and our previous training to our advantage, we decided to run a small Karate gym.
The first few months, we lived in the abandoned tv shop we found a few blocks away from the alley we were dropped into. Once our money started settling in after teaching a few kids, we got a small apartment and eventually turned the abandoned shop into a Karate Dojo.
Diego and I used to take turns teaching, while one was at the dojo the other would watch the baby at home. Eventually, I got used to running the dojo myself and Diego became really attached to the baby that he decided to be a stay home dad.
After cleaning the gym, I grabbed a few groceries before heading towards our apartment. As I opened the door, I saw our cute baby turning her head and grinning widely as she saw my face. 'Mama!'
'Hey baby!' I walked over to her and picked her up, kissing on her cheek multiple times. 'Were you good for dad today?'
'Yess!' She giggled, wrapping her small arms around me for a hug.
'Ah no Bel. Don't lie to your mom like that.' Diego said without turning around, concentrated on cooking our dinner for the night. 'I didn't forget the temper tantrum you pulled before nap time.'
Belinda widened her eyes, as if she got caught. She then buried her head into my chest. 'No.'
'Just remember one more strike and no park tomorrow.' Diego flashed a sarcastic smile at her as he brought our plates to the table.
I softly laugh, seeing how adorable Diego and Bel's relationship had become. It was crazy to think that he used to be so opposed to taking care of her. He now loved her so much just as if she was his own daughter, Diego would never let anything happen to her.
Setting Bel down in the high chair, I put the grocery bag on the counter to place all our food into the fridge. Diego turned around, 'Just leave it there. Come eat.'
'It's just a few things, besides I might forget later on.'
Diego got up, wrapped his arms around me from behind as he rested his head on my shoulder. 'Food is going to get cold.'
'You know the last time you did that, we end up missing dinner?' I chuckled, 'And Bel is sitting right there.'
'Ah, I can control myself missy.' Diego squeezed me tightly. 'Maybe.'
'Let's eat mama!' Bell yelled and laughed from behind us.
Diego smiled as he kissed my cheek. 'See? When I hear her voice it's back to reality.'
Playfully rolling my eyes, I finish putting everything away from my grocery bag. 'And if she was asleep, it'll be a different story.'
'Hmm, I guess you'll never know.' We both sat at our seats, watching Bel already finishing half of her spaghetti in her bowl.
'Dad makes good spaghetti huh? Better than mom's.' Diego grinned widely before taking a big first bite.
The three of us laughed and cheered, sharing the events that happened today while we finish our food. If I would've guessed what would've happened after Five saved us from the apacolypse, this would have never crossed my mind.
I would be lying if I said that I didn't miss my family. Everyday I wouldn't go to sleep without my siblings crossing my mind. It was really nice though, to have a family of our own without thinking about the apocalypse or having to deal with our powers and the bad guys.
We were finally a normal family, just like I always dreamed of since I was a little girl.
As all of us finished our dinner, Bel asked for dessert that she always looked forward to every Friday; ice cream. Except today, we had none in the freezer and I totally forgot to buy them at the grocery store.
Bel was excited, knowing that no ice cream in the freezer meant we get to go to the ice cream parlor. Not only was she able to get her favorite dessert but being able to run around outside excited her so much; even though she knew well not to run if were not at the park, outside always made her extra happy.
We walked a few blocks from our apartment, Bel in between Diego and I as she held each of our hand. She would attempt to pull us, knowing exactly where the ice cream parlor was.
'Hey, hey! Relax buttercup. Dad is too tired to run.' Diego exhaled, shaking his head as the hyper child jumped up and down. 'Why do you always want to run so much.'
'She's a kid, that's all we wanted to do right?' I laughed as I held onto Belinda's hand tightly. 'Instead we were trained at her age, it's crazy to think that dad made us do that.'
Diego shook his head, 'He was never a dad. Reginald was some man that took us in, nothing else. We were never family and just some roommates that shared a big, lonely house.'
He wasn't wrong when he said that; that "The Umbrella Academy" was just some big joke and Reginald used us for some showcase to brag to the whole country. Whatever he wanted to prove better have been worth it after ruining our lives.
Something did come out of being a part of the Hargreeves; I got to meet Diego and the rest of my siblings, the people who were really important to my life.
As I was in a deep thought process despite us walking towards the ice cream parlor, I got distracted as a familiar voice called for my name.
'Y/N? Diego?' I heard someone call us from behind. 'It's... it's really you guys.'
We both turned around, eyes widened as we saw someone we haven't seen in about three years. 'Allison...'
She ran up to us, practically throwing herself at us as she grabbed onto me and Diego tightly. 'Wow. I-I can't believe it.'
'You don't know how much I missed you Allison.' I hugged my sister, tears starting to roll down my eyes as I couldn't hold in my emotions.
'Mama, why are you crying?'
Allison's facial expression changed, releasing me as she looked down between Diego and I. 'Uhm, did she just call you mama?'
Diego chuckled, 'Really? You see us for the first time in like three years and that's the first question you ask us?'
'Uhh yea. You two had a baby!?' Allison's jaw dropped. I knew she needed a seat because the way she was surprised, she looked as though she was about to faint. 'She-she's not even a baby. She's like three... four...'
My face turned red, not even thinking about the possibility that our new addition to the family was slightly complicated. Especially with the complicated relationship that Diego and I had going on, I knew Allison was really confused.
'She's uhm... uhh.' Diego nervously laughed, not knowing the right words to say in front of our child.
'My name is Belinda! Are you auntie Allison?' She smiled so sweetly, waving hello to her.
Allison kneeled down to Belinda's height, smiled at her niece. 'Yes, I am. Nice to finally meet you sweetie.'
Diego grabbed Bel's hand, reading the queue that Allison and I needed some catching up to do privately. 'Come on. We're almost at the shop!'
'I'll be right behind you, okay?' I smiled as Diego and Belinda walk a few more steps up the street than into the store.
Quickly, I looked over to my sister and sighed. 'Ah, about tha-'
'How did you and Diego have a child already?! I mean, she seems like she's about three so you two obviously did not waste any time.' Allison started blabbing, panicking as she tried to analyze the kid situation in her head.
'She's not our child, uhm biological at least.' I clarified, 'We found her by the dumpster when Five threw us into the alley.'
'A dumpster? Wow poor thing. No one ever came looking for her?' She sympathized, understanding why I decided to take her in.
I shook my head, 'Nope. Nothing. We haven't seen a missing report about a baby so we decided to take care of her, I mean who knows what a foster family would do.'
'It's really nice of you two to do that. I'm surprised Diego was in on the idea.'
'Yeah, he wasn't happy about that at first. But he got attached to her pretty quickly.'
Allison giggled, 'So you two seem to be getting along. In fact, so well that you guys decided to play house.'
'Okay, okay. For your information Allison, we're not even dating or anything. It's complicated.'
'Complicated how? You've been stuck here in Dallas for nearly three years and he hasn't asked you out yet?'
When she put it like that, it made me think to myself for a bit. We've definitely done stuff that people who are more than friends do, but I just went with the flow. To me, it was nothing to it.
I knew Diego cared about me and I cared about him. Our priority was Belinda and we were too occupied about taking care of her to even slightly think about our relationship.
'Wait-' Allison paused, backtracking a little to our previous conversation. 'Did you say you two were in an alley?'
'Yeah, we fell pretty hard actually. Damn I swear that fall ruined my hips forever.'
'Klaus said he landed there as well, and I landed there too.'
'Did you say Klaus? You've seen him? He's here?' I got excited, it's been so long since I've seen everyone and I've missed them all so much.
Allison smiled, 'Yeah. He's crashing at my place actually.'
'Wow... I...' It was hard to believe we were slowly reuniting again. Seems as though Allison only knew Klaus' whereabouts, otherwise she would've mentioned the others by now.
Even if we weren't sure where Luther, Five and Vanya were it was nice to finally see a familiar face after three years. Nothing was more exciting than seeing your family once again.
Sunrise with you on my chest. No blinds in the place where I live, daybreak, open your eyes. This was only ever meant to be for one night. Still, we're changing our minds here. Be yours, be my dear.
Today is the day. Today is the day when you're going to marry your best friend, your partner in crime, the love of your life, the best man you could ever know. And even if it's supposed that the night before you shouldn't sleep together, you don't believe in superstition. You two wanted to wake up as a couple to go to sleep as a married couple. Your nose caresses his, purring as he closes his arms tightly around your body. One of your hands tour his neck slowly, with the tip of your fingers running over his skin and flooding on his lips, gently and sleepy kissing them. One second after, his mouth meets yours with a soft move before opening his eyes.
“You on time to run away”. He whispers with a hoarse and deep tone of voice.
“You too”. You chuckle sinking your face under his chin.
“I love you, darling”.
“I love you more, Jackie boy”.
So close with you on my lips, touch noses, feeling your breath. Push your heart and pull away. Be my summer in a winter day love. I can't see one thing wrong between the both of us. Be mine, anytime.
When the door rings, you're ready to start with the preparatives at the clubhouse, where your wedding dress waits for you. But before you can go with your girls, Jax grabs your wrist to pull you into him with that dearly smile on his lips that shakes your legs.
“Goodbye, miss (Y/L/N). I will see you again calling yourself ‘Teller’”. He says very proud, peeking your lips with short kisses.
“That sounds amazing”. You mutter against his lips, surrounding his neck with both arms tangled on.
“I can't wait to be married”. Putting away a soft tuft of your hair, he leans forward to kiss your forehead with all the love he carries on his chest.
“Then, hurry. I'm the one who has to be late, remember?”
Fast forward a couple years, grown up in the place that we live. Make love, then we fight, and laugh 'cause it was only meant to be for one night, baby. I guess we can't control what's just not up to us.
You're sitting on a stool in Jax dorms, while Laila does your hair. A beautiful braid decorated with white flowers on it. Watching the long white silk dress hanging from the top of the bathroom door, you can't help but think about the day you met. It was like fifteen years ago, in the kinder garden. Actually, it was really cute because there were some children trying to take off from you a teddy bear, because apparently you were too old to play with him. And Jax appeared from nowhere, followed by Opie. You still laugh because of the looks on their faces.
“That's ready, honey. Do you wanna see it?” Layla asks you while you stand up, straight to hug her.
“It isn't necessary. I would trust you my life”. You just say, before being interrupted by Gemma.
“Look at you…” She said almost in tears, opening and closing the door as fast as she can, to hold you into her arms. “You're going to be the most beautiful Old Lady ever…”
“Do you think that… Jax would like it?”
“Of course he will, sweetheart”.
Every time I see you, baby, I get lost. If I'm dreaming, baby, please don't wake me up. Every night I'm with you, I fall more in love. Now I'm laying by your side and everything feels right since you came along.
The front yard of Teller-Morrow is completely changed. The main door is closed and covered, so you will have the intimacy you deserve. Maybe it isn't the most romantic place on earth, but it's the one where you grow up with Jax and your families. There's a big flowers arch as an altar, and the alley to it it's in the middle of the guests. You will have to walk over a red carpet as if you were a star, because Tig said so.
When the door of the clubhouse gets opened and your bridesmaids step out from it, the soft music floods the crowded yard. The girls positioned themselves at the right of Jackson, waiting impatiently on the altar with Opie putting well on his tie and the flower on the lapel. But as soon as your future husband watches you walk towards him, grabbed to your father's arm, he breaks into tears. You can hear some chuckles, some kindly whispers, and Jax laughing between a soft cry, so proud of what he is seeing.
Oh, you know I've been alone for quite a while. Haven't I? I thought I knew it all, found love, but I was wrong more times than enough. But since you came along…
“When I met you, fifteen years ago… I promised you that I would protect you with my life”. He has to do a brief pause, freeing your hands to clear his tears with the back of them. “You made me a better man. You took care of me, loved me unconditionally, without asking anything back. You have been my best friend since ever, my counselor, my anchor to keep floating, and I can't wait to continue my life with you, (Y/N). I can't wait to have a family with you. To come back home everyday and fall asleep with you between my arms. I will never love anyone like I love you. And I want to show it to you every single second for the rest of my life, 'cause I'm the luckiest man on earth. You're kind, attentive, motivating, honest, careful, loyal. You are perfect for me, and I couldn't imagine a day without you”.
Leaning forward, Jackson kisses your cheek, taking the advantage to clean his tears with your fingers. You know everything that he thinks about you, but these words just make it real. For a second, you thought you were dreaming. That the wedding was a dream and that you would wake up before kissing him again. But there you are, stunning and making your future husband running out of air with a charming smile.
“I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my life, than doing it by your side, Jackson. You are the most intelligent and courageous man I have ever met. Your sense of… keeping close your family, your brothers, your friends… That's what makes the difference. You put their welfare before your own, and that makes you a good man. If your father would be here, he would be proud of who you are and of who you are becoming”. John always loved you like his own daughter, and he used to say that Jax and you would end up married. But you two always used to laugh about the idea, until three years ago when you got badly drunk. And a one-night-stand and an apparently big mistake, made real his prophecy. “Your father told me once that we were made for each other, destined to meet us, destined to protect each other, destined to respect each other. Destined to love each other. Your father was the wisest man I have ever met, even if I thought that he was wrong. And I can't wait to start calling you ‘my husband, ‘my family’ for the rest of my life”.
I'm thinking, baby, you are bringing out a different kind of me. There's no safety net that's underneath, I'm free fallin' all in. You fell for men who weren't how they appear. Trapped up on a tightrope now we're here, we're free, fallin' all in you.
It's supposed that you should put the golden ring in each other's finger, but Chibs is crying so deep that he can't even say a single word, making the guests laugh when Bobby pushes him out of the altar.
“Fucking scottish… Or you're drunk, or you're crying”. He mumbles rolling his eyes, before grabbing the wedding rings from Opie's hands.
“I saw him once crying and drinking”. Jackson chuckles, infecting your families there.
“Here we go, brother”. Opie narrows his shoulders, before placing himself with the groomsmen behind him.
“I, Jackson Nathaniel Teller, take you, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part”. Putting in your shaky finger the ring, with his oceanic eyes on yours, you're trying to contain the tears you have been hiding since you woke up on your shared bed.
“I, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), take you, Jackson Nathaniel Teller, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part”. You can't help but laugh softly when you notice that he's more nervous than you, holding his hand to put in the wedding ring.
“Aye, ye can kiss yer wife, kid”. Kicking out Bobby's ass, Chibs appears again cleaning his tears. “I haven' been five month practicing ti not say these words”.
Fallin' all in you.
You can assure that his lips are softer than never, with your fingers tangled with his, kissing him under the cheerings of everyone around you two. Jax can't help but hug you. Tightly, dearly.
“I will always love you”. He mutters with a broken voice, intertwining your fingers in his scalp to push him closer.
“Not even death will set us part, Jax”.
Hii I have a request if you are doing some rn it's for draco and its just before the war starts and him and the reader (snapes daughter) run off to a house dracos parents have but when the reader is told her father has died they have to go back for the funeral and see everyone again (eg. Harry, Ron, dracos parents ect) ❤️
Oh the angst that is about to happen
Note: Sirius is still alive in this, originally I had this idea that Draco actually saved his life in the ministry battle.
The house was silent with the exception of the faucet's drip and Draco's breathing. Right now the summer house was the only peace he had. You were off with the trio, doing God knows what, worrying the hell out of Draco before you walked in. Draco looked up, rushing to you. You seemed to be in this state of shock as Hermione, Ron and Harry all followed. "What happened?" He asked. You said nothing, your mouth slightly open, eyes wide in this state of shock. "...Snape..." Hermione swallowed. "Severus is... Dead." Harry said making Draco look at you. You still seemed unresponsive. "How long has she been like this?" Draco asked. "Since Snape said goodbye." Ron muttered, sitting on the black couch with his face in his hands. Hermione sat next to him, placing a comforting hand on his back. "Y/n... Please say something." Harry begged. You swallowed, staring at one spot on the floor. "Gone." Was the last thing anyone heard you say before your body seemingly gave out and you fell over, Draco catching you.
You spent the next few days processing what happened. No one could talk to you, not even Draco could get you to utter a word. You were an orphan and caught in a war you barely understood as a fucking child. No one should suffer this much, no one deserves that pain. When the funeral was planned Snape asked that his final resting place be in a muggle cemetery. The oddest request but a good one. This meant a very small chance of Voldemort disrupting it. You expected a very small crowd but that was not the case. Students from all houses, even a few death eaters and teachers all showed up.
Mcgonagall sat next to you, Molly Weasley on your other side. The two women spent their time raising you, helping you through all of this. You still had that numb expression on your face. You tried to recall a time with a very very happy moment with your father. There were plenty but none of them were real moments that stayed with you. You remembered him showing vulnerable emotions and expressions to you but you never recalled a true moment where your father seemed truly happy. Then it hit you. The grading papers.
You sat in a seat next to your father's desk. "Father." You muttered. "Yes Y/n?" He asked. "What was mum like?" You asked. He never gave you a full answer to that. But something about his expression told you that he was going to give you a full answer this time. "Mia was a very strong woman... You take after her." He said with a mindless nod. "What made you love her?" You asked. He pondered at that. "Her intelligence." He replied. "She was smart?" You asked. "She was more than that. She had an answer for almost everything. But not in the way you'd expect." He stated, writing on a paper. "Like Hermione?" You asked. "No. Like a philosopher." Snape corrected. You nodded. "Am I like her?" You asked. He stopped writing and looked at you with a soft smile, moving your hair and looking at the eyes that reminded him everyday how strong you truly could be. "In more ways than one." He assured. You smiled and he went back to writing. "You have your mother's eyes." He told you. A fact you already knew but it was so sincere in the moment, you nearly had tears form.
An observation that would stay with you. An observation that nearly made you cry. The last comment from your father that he told you. Even in his dying moments Severus placed a hand on your cheek, brushing away the tears and he told you "Even in war.... You still have your mother's eyes."
You bit your lip, wiping your eyes and gripping the hem of your black dress. Molly swapped seats with Draco, him sliding his hand into yours and you buried your face into his black suit jacket. He held you close to him, closing his eyes as people got up to view him. His parents were silent, Narcissa being genuinely upset that someone who kept Draco safe and away from all of this was gone. He watched Draco grow up, for God's sake, you grew up in their home. Lucius couldn't face you. Not knowing he contributed to the loss of such a man.
Harry didn't necessarily like the man. He was a disagreeable person but the one thing they always settled on was you. Harry was like your brother, keeping you safe and sound when he needed to. To see this man gone was a hard hit especially since you were in pain and Harry couldn't fix it. Not this time.
Hermione was the same as Harry. Snape tended to give her a hard time for being intelligent but she did enjoy seeing him with you. Snape, even in class showed a happier side to him, encouraging you to show your intelligence and to think outside the box. She may not have liked him completely as a person. But even she could admit he was a damn good father to you.
Ron was more conflicted. He didn't like Snape. Snape didn't like him. Like Harry, the only common ground he had with him was you. Ron tended to be a bit more hardheaded but his feelings became less bitter when Severus actually acted kind and accepting to Molly. When Molly treated you with kindness and provided a second home to you, Snape was glad for this and encouraged you to go to them when you needed to.
Draco was not like any of them. Draco grew up along side you, he knew Severus a lot better than the others. He saw the truly vulnerable moments, he was there for the arguments, the laughter, the smiles and the family he knew to be yours. Lucius allowed you to be around Draco, seeing Severus as a friend more than an enemy. Draco and you had each other's backs in the toughest of situations and Draco was glad to see that you had someone like Draco assuring you that you were stronger than most people. When Draco actually fell in love with you, Severus had no objections to you two being together. Only that you two be slightly secretive due to your open affiliation with the Order and Draco being a double agent. In the end, that same thing is what killed Severus, being a double agent. The secrets literally destroyed him.
As the casket was lowered, there was not one wizard who didn't raise their wand, using the light to signify one that they lost. You dropped a single white rose onto the casket, Draco holding with one arm and you raising your wand sadly. Eventually people began to leave, leaving you standing by his graveside. The rain began to fall, Fred holding an umbrella over you as you stared vacantly at the ground. "...He was always such a pain in class... But he always seemed happy when you were around." George muttered. You let out a shaking breath. "We're here Y/n. All of us." Arthur assured.
"... What's your favorite memory of Snape? Everyone." Harry asked. "...When he smacked Ron and you upside the heads because you wouldn't stop talking and Y/n nearly toppled over because Ron made a weird noise." Ginny answered. "When Fred accidentally stepped on his cape and he was pissed for weeks, growling at him in class." George said. "When he pulled two students out of a carriage at the Yule." Hermione said making Ron smile. "When he nearly set Draco on fire for kissing Y/n in front of him." Ron said. A small smile tugged at your lips. "When he would read to me and Y/n growing up and he did those voices." Draco said making you finally smile. "When he nearly cussed out Quirrell for releasing the troll in our first year." Harry said. Everyone looked at you and you swallowed. "When me and him sat in his office and he finally answered questions about my mother... And he told me that..." You took in a breath, staring the single white rose. "I had my mother's eyes." You said. Finally. You spoke.
Suddenly though, the trio understood what sent you into shock. Hearing those words again... It must've changed the meaning of the memory you had. Draco kissed the side of your head and you sighed. "This is hard." You muttered. "You lost your Dad Y/n... It's okay to grieve." Remus said, making you all turn around as him and Nymphadora walked over. Sirius put a hand on his shoulder, giving a nod to Draco as a greeting.
"Severus was always a tight ass in school. But God damn was he smart." Sirius said. You let out a sad laugh. "He always had a soft spot for your mother though." Remus said making you turn. "What?" You asked. "Your mother. Mia." Remus said. "You... She was a wizard?" You asked. Everyone looked at you surprised. "You... Didn't know?" Remus asked. "Dad never answered conclusively and she's buried in a muggle cemetery." You said, motioning to the other grave. "....She was Songbird." Sirius said making Fred and George gape. "She was a Marauder?!" George asked. "Yes." Remus and Sirius answered in unison. "How the hell did dad like her then? He hated you guys." You asked. "Well hate is a strong word--" "Oh no. He hated you." Draco nodded. "No one could hate Mia. Not even Filch." Remus finally answered. Sirius looked at you as you stared at Snape's grave.
Tears streamed down your face and you let out a long breath. "Are you okay?" Sirius asked. You nodded after a long silence, the rain hitting the umbrellas. "I think I'll be okay..." You began
"I have my family with me."
Tumblr media
Poe's hand stayed in between your thighs as you attempt to force yourself to listen to whatever Finn had decided talk everyone's ear off about. You sure it was important and interesting. You watched as everyone else laughed at whatever he said and you forced yourself to smile, playing along. You were sure that you were doing an amazing job at it because the others at the table didn’t bat an eye.
Everything felt and sounded like it was underwater. You had just been trying to enjoy your lunch-well as much as anyone could with everything that was going on. But then again, it wasn't like you were actually eating. All you had been doing as moving the food around with your utensil. You were just sitting with the others as they ate. Rey was also talking, but your thoughts were now turning to focus on the man sitting beside you and the hand between your legs.
The placement of his hand wasn't inherently sexual and it being there didn't make you think of sex-well now it was-but it was something else. If anything it just kept you grounded. That was something you desperately needed right now. You needed to hold onto something and you were glad that Poe was sitting next to you. It reminded you of where you were. It let you know that you still had someone.
The past few days had been...difficult-to say the least.
Your mother died and then only a few hours later, Rey died, and then after reviving Rey, your brother Ben died as well. The last two remaining members of your family gone within a single day and just like with your father and your Uncle Luke, you never got the chance to say goodbye. You were the very last Skywalker, the last Solo. Maker, you hated it. The lightsaber on your waist felt heavier and heavier every time you slipped it into its leather holster. What good was it in the end? It didn't save your family, didn't stop them from dying. Maybe you should give it to Rey, have her bury yours along with your mother's and Uncle Luke's. It would have more use in the sand.
You felt nothing as you sat there with Poe, Rey, and Finn. Everything was numb. Finn and Poe (like everyone else that was left in the Galaxy) were relieved that the First Order was gone, but of course they were saddened by the death of your mother. Rey mourned both your mother and Ben, but she still saw the good in the situation, whatever what that might be. You, in this moment, felt nothing. You were feeling both too much and nothing at the same time. Rey and Finn were still talking about something, something that was important you were sure. It's always important.
And then there was Poe, who had started to move his thumb side to side, bringing you out of your dark thoughts. You were incredibly grateful for the man sitting next to you. You probably would've gone insane without him. The sound came back to the environment around you and now Rey was responding to whatever Finn had just said. You turned your head to look at Poe, his eyes already on you. Worry was etched deep into his face. You reached down and put your hand on top of his. Poe immediately intertwined his fingers with yours, squeezing your hand. He raised your hand to his lips, kissing the back of your hand. The action made the corner of your mouth turn upwards.
"Everything okay?" Rey asks, making the two of you turn to look at her. You sit up a little straighter, still holding his hand like it could keep you tethered to the ground. She is studying you, like she could read your thoughts, but Uncle Luke had taught you how to block anyone out so there was no way she knew what you were thinking.
"Yeah, I'm just tired." You try to explain away, but Finn and Rey both know you're lying. Everyone is grieving, but they know it's hitting you the hardest. However, your mother raised to always be strong in extremely difficult situations and that's what you were going to do.  Rey and Finn looked from you to Poe and back to you. Poe suddenly dropped your hand, wiping at his face. He looks at you, pushing his tray of food away from him.
"Kriff-Y/N, we are going to be late. Sorry guys, but we will have to continue this later on." Poe lies effortlessly and part of you want to ask he learned to lie this good when he was a spice runner. Instead of doing that, you just find yourself going along with what Poe is saying. You push your tray of uneaten food away. The two of you stand and walk out of the cafeteria. Poe's hand rested on the small of your back as he leads you towards the bedroom the two of you share. A wave exhaustion suddenly washes over you, the same one that has been washing over you every day since you got back from Exegol.
"Have I told you today how much I love you?" You say with a tired smile on your face. Poe chuckles, pressing his lips against your temple.
"You have." He tells you, punching in the code to enter the room. Poe guides you inside, watching you as you take your lightsaber out of its holster, the leather belt following soon after. Both items rest alongside his blasters that he sets aside, his holsters joining the other items. You kick off your boots, his following after. It's the same routine you two have been doing everyday.
"I feel bad about you lying to them." You say softly as you sit on the bed. Poe shakes his head, moving to his side of the bed. The bed seemingly envelops you as you lay down. Poe pulls you into his chest, pressing his lips against your forehead.
"They understand, Y/N. They more than understand." Poe responds, his arms wrapping around you. You felt bad about feeling bad, no matter how many times Poe told you it was okay to feel upset. Everyone around you has lost the people they love. You weren't special. Your chest ached as your throat started to tighten.
"Breathe, please." Your boyfriend says softly, tucking some of your hair behind your ear. You let out a shakily breath, tears brimming in your eyes. It felt as if your chest was being crushed and stabbed all at once, like your chest was caving in and your ribs were stabbing at your lungs. Poe cups your cheek, his thumb brushing against your skin. Concern is written all his face, like it has been every time he looks at you. You hated it, hated that he was worried about you rather than everything else.
Death walked hand in hand with your family. Your grandmother died after she gave birth to your mother and uncle. Your grandfather was killed by Palpatine. Your father was killed by your brother. Uncle Luke died while fighting your brother. Your mother died trying to turn your brother away from the dark side and Ben gave his life to save Rey. You felt guilty to be alive. Part of you felt like you should be with all
of them. Felt like you needed to be reunited with your family.
You just didn't understand why you got to live when everyone else around you died.
"Hey-Hey, breathe. Breathe." Poe smoothes out your hair as tears start running down your face.  You wanted to stop the pain in your chest, wanted to stop how your throat felt raw.
You hated how you either felt nothing or your felt this immense pain all over. It was the worse pain you've ever experienced and you've felt a lot of pain in your life.
Poe wrapped his arms tighter around you, his hand rubbing your back in an attempt to soothe you. You were most conflicted about mourning your brother. Kylo-Ben-He hurt a lot of people. He killed your father, caused your Uncle's death, and caused the death of thousands of others across the Galaxy. He's hurt everyone around you and yet-yet you still missed him. You missed him like you missed your mother, father, and uncle. However, you couldn't talk about it with anyone because everyone around you (except Rey) hated Ben and rightfully so.
"It-It just hurts so much." You finally get out, the words feeling like knives as they come out of your throat. You rest your head against his chest, tears staining his white shirt. You haven't talked about any of it with anyone, not in depth. Poe understood you were mourning and you missed your family greatly, but you kept the rest to yourself. You didn't want to worry him, worry the others. So you kept silent, kept it yourself.
"I know, baby. I know." Poe responds, kissing the top of your head. He's doing his best to try to help you, but you know that he fully doesn't know how he's going to do that.
He's all you got. Poe's the last little bit of happiness you got in the galaxy and that absolutely terrifies you. It doesn't matter that everything seems okay right now because you know that eventually something will fill the void the First Order created. You know that it'll seek you out and it'll come for the people you love. Your Dad and grandmother weren't Skywalkers, but that evil sure as hell came after both them due to their attachments to Skywalkers. You'll never be able to fully protect Poe or Finn or Rey. You start crying a little harder, way more than you did than when you felt your father die, when you felt your mother leave this world. You cried harder than you did when you watched your brother die in Rey's arms in Exegol. It was like the dam holding back everything has been released.
"Don't leave me. Please. Don't leave me, Poe." You tell him in between sobs, looking up at the man. His face looks pained as wipes away his tears with your thumb. He knows he can't fully promise you that. Life isn't promised, especially with what you two do. It doesn't matter that the First Order is gone. Things can always go wrong.
"I won't, Y/N. I won't." Poe's voice is soft and it should comfort you, but it didn't.
You were selfish. You wanted your family back, wanted them here with you. You needed your parents, your uncle, your brother. You should be already grateful that you had Poe and your friends. That was way more than most people had in the Galaxy. You weren't the only person that has experienced a loss of this magnitude. Maker, look at Rey. She was the granddaughter of Palpatine. Both her parents were murdered and she grew up a scavenger on the piece of garbage that is Jakku. You grew up the daughter of a Princess. You had no reason to complain.
"I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry." You hiccup as he kisses your forehead. Poe didn't know why you were apologizing and you weren't about to explain it to him. Your shoulders were shaking with every sob that wracked your body. You felt bad about this whole situation, pushing your feelings onto him. He shouldn't be having to sit here and hold your hand through this whole situation. Your boyfriend is the General now-well co-General now. He should be out there, leading alongside Finn, not in here with you. He needed to be out there, doing the job that was handed to him. You were sure he didn’t want you crying over Ben, someone who tortured your boyfriend and tried to have all of you killed, but he knew that Ben was still your brother. Poe wipes away your tears as they fall. He shifts in the bed, sitting up slightly and pulling you on top of him. Poe holds you in his arms, letting you lay on him.
You really, really didn't deserve him.
"Don't be sorry, princess. Please don't be sorry. Just breathe, okay?" He reminds you, his hand continuing to smooth your hair. You nod your head slightly, his arm tightening around you as he continues, "I'm here, Y/N. I'm right here."
You didn't know why he had stayed. Why he continued to stay with you. There was just so many more options around him. He was obviously close to Zorii, something that went further than them just being colleagues. Hell, at first you thought he had a thing for Lieutenant Connix until Poe told you that he was crushing on you. Everyone around you-male, female, everyone-were wrapped around Poe's finger. He could have anyone he wanted and for some reason, he chose you. In this moment, you just couldn't understand why.
"I love you so much, Y/N." Poe murmurs to you, pressing his lips to the top of your head again. You wondered how he knew exactly what you needed to hear when you needed it. He tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear as he looks down at you, "You know that right? You know what I love you?"
"I-I know. I love you too." You respond, looking up at your boyfriend. Poe still looks as worried as ever as he wipes away a few more tears. You lay your head back down onto his chest, trying to calm yourself down, listening to the beating of his heart. You calm down your breathing, evening it out.
"I'm right here with you, okay? I'm not going anywhere." Poe continues, shifting again to get in a more comfortable position. You just nod in response. You were extremely grateful for Poe and everything he has done for you and your family. You also have never been more in love with someone. Maker, you madly in love with him. The dissolving of your parents’ union had made you wary of ever finding someone to be attached to someone in that way, but then Poe Dameron walked into your life.
And the women in your family always had a weak spot for cocky pilots that were damn good at what they do.
You leaned up and kiss his jaw, the scruff covering his skin scratching you slightly. The action made a small smile appear on his face, cracking through the layers of worry. It made you press another kiss against his skin, wanting him not to stress out over you anymore.
You don't know if you'll ever feel like you did before all of this. Before your parents died, before your Uncle gave his life, before Ben gave his. When you were happy and carefree and all you cared about was carrying the Skywalker legacy. Now, you just wanted to stop this hurting. You just wanted the ache in your chest to dissipate.
Luckily-thankfully for you, you had Poe. You had someone who cared for you and loved you, who wanted to help you through all of this hurt. No matter what, you knew you had him.
And that would be enough. It just had to be.
contents page
The next morning you bid your goodbye to percy and annabeth as they set off for the city. It was a bit difficult for you since the last time they parted for the Labyrinth only annabeth had come back.
“Don’t do anything stupid” You said to percy, hugging him tightly. You didn’t want to let go and you could tell neither did he but time wasn’t exactly on your side.
“I don’t plan on it” Percy smiled, “I promise i’ll come back alive this time”
“hahaha”  you replied
You wanted to go with them, you wanted to be there when they needed help. You didn't want anything else to happen to your friends but you were needed back at camp. If luke’s army was able to get through into the camp, you needed to be there to protect it.
You, Lee and Beckendorf were making your way through the forest towards zeus’ fist to help with reinforcements.
You stifled a yawn as the three of you walked in comfortable silence.
“Looks like someone stayed up late last night,” Lee snickered and Beckendorf joined in with his laughing.
“Shut up,” you muttered, considering throwing lee across the forest.
“So has percy finally asked you out yet? Or are we going to have to pretend that you two weren’t totally flirting the minute we found out percy was alive” Beckendorf chuckled and you sent him a scowl.
“I’m joking,” beckendorf chuckled putting up his hands in defence, “although we are pretty used to you two flirting by now” he added and Lee broke put into uncontrollable laughter.
You knew people teased you about percy but not to this extent.
“He’s got too many things on his mind right now, ” you stated, your voice tight as you remembered the hard look on percy’s face as he talked about his foreseeable fight with kronos.
“True, life as a demigod is never easy but you can’t let that get in the way of living how you want” Lee said, lifting his nose up high.
“And where’d you get that one from mr philosopher” Beckendorf chuckled
“As a son of apollo I was going more for mr poet” Lee shrugged, “and if you must know i got it out if this miraculous thing” and he tapped the top of his head.
‘Miraculous alright, i thought you didn’t have one” you snickered and the three of you burst out laughing.
the trees finally began to thin out and you entered the clearing where zeus’ fist was. The catapult was ready, stocked with newly delivered greek fire and the athena cabin had set up a command tent towards the left.
You were preparing for war.
The feeling made you nervous, it was the same feeling as stage fright- wobbly legs, hot flushes and an erratic heart if you thought about it too much.
You’d fought monsters before, but not a battle.
...
Percy didn’t want to leave camp but he had a titan army to thwart. just seeing you cry your heart out , it had made him want to cry- and that was saying a lot. And he was a bit guilty to say that it had also made him feel a little bit happy, seeing how much you had missed him. He got angry at himself for causing you so much pain, you didn’t deserve that.
In the labyrinth he often felt like giving up; feeling the walls close in and feeling that he was no match for immortal monsters who would just regenerate once he killed them.
But then he’d remember you, and that would cause him to think of all the other things worth living for.
On the island of ogygia he was conflicted.
Sure, when he first laid eyes on calypso he thought she was beautiful, but there was just too many similarities; her almond shape eyes, the way her hair flowed down her back and the kind look in her soft gaze reminded percy too much of you.
In a way you were like a goddess to him, too perfect to be true. Sometimes he wondered if the gods had made a mistake and you actually were born immortal.
He’d lived every day in ogygia with you on his mind, i need to get back to Y/N.
It was like you were his link to his life back in new york, you were his embodiment of home.
He felt torn between leaving calypso on her own and returning to fight luke but there was no debating when it came to you.
So when he saw how quiet you became when he mentioned getting marooned on an island, he started to panic. He thought he’d blew it and you would never see him in the same light again.
how did you even see him anyway?
He liked how you blushed every time he called you princess, how you tried to hide the smile on your face every time he did something stupid and how you covered you laugh every time he said something sarcastic.
You were always such a bright light shining in his life and seeing you so sad made percy’s heart break.
I made her upset, percy thought.
He cared a lot for you and made a promise to himself, if he’d survive the titan war, he’d tell you how he felt. he didn’t want to cause you any harm so he wanted to wait- see if he actually survived.
Annabeth turned to percy as if she wanted to say something, then noticed the slight frown on his face and faced her own window on her left side.
“Will told me how Y/N kept hunting down monsters when we were gone” she started, “he said everyday she’d always be called out of camp to help the cabin who was on scouting duty and when she wasn’t, she was in the forges with beckendorf reinforcing our armoury”
Percy just blinked, the conversation seemed so out of the blue but he had a dreaded feeling he knew where it was going, “uhm- yeah, she’s a hardworker”
“And when you disappeared, she went over time. She was gone before dawn and only came back after dinner. She came back everyday covered in blood and monster dust- exhausted and almost unconscious. ”
Percy looked over at annabeth and she had her fists clenched, “Annabeth look i’m sorry i didn’t mean to-”
“I know you didn’t mean to!” Annabeth exclaimed, and snapped her head towards percy, giving him a look that could have sent him to tartarus and back five times. percy couldn’t help but back away from her.
He quickly averted his gaze to the divider where he could see argus looking at them through the rear view mirror with some of his many eyes ( the rest on the road ) but as soon as they made eye contact he shut the divider close.
Thanks for the moral support, Percy thought.
“But do you know how much pain you put her in? First you let some mortal girl write her number on you arm, then you die, then you come back from the dead only to say you’ve been having a little vacation with a goddess who is made to fall in love with you and then you go off again only to go running to rachel! ” Annabeth was breathing hard, she seemed really angry.
This only made percy angry too- but he couldn’t help but be slightly confused.
All this time percy thought annabeth had a crush on him, that’s why she was so worked up over rachel and why she had stormed out when he had said he was marooned on an island. He even thought that annabeth was jealous of Y/N and would treat her coldly, but that was the one thing he didn’t get- the two of them were best friends.
Now he started to think that it wasn’t percy she had a crush on.
“Why are you so worked up about this?” Percy asked, his voice rising. he didn’t mean to try and pry on what annabeth was really feeling, but he couldn’t help but attack her back, she was shaming him just like Mr d did and he wasn’t going to let that slide.
Annabeth clenched her jaw and percy thought she was going to explode, “You’re such a seaweed brain!” She shouted, “I see the way you look at her, the stupid way you smile when she’s around and how you try to do even stupider things to get her attention. So why haven’t you told her how you feel?”
Percy opened his mouth to snap something back, but he found no words.
“The second you come back you start flirting with her then you run off again without saying anything! I have no idea what’s going on in that head of yours but if you think for a second that you can play with her heart-”
Percy felt the heat rising up his chest, “I’m not playing with her!” he shouted.
“Then why do you keep her in the dark!” Annabeth shouted back at the same level percy had and percy froze. There were many reasons why he had held back from telling you how he felt, but he’d never really voiced them out. It made sense it his head and it felt right but now if he needed to explain his reasons to annabeth, he wasn’t so sure.
But then he remembered the promise he had made to himself, how after they’d finished this- if he survived at all, he would tell you how he felt. but he wanted to keep that to himself, his little secret.
“Just tell her how you feel damn it!” Annabeth exclaimed, snapping percy out of his inner debate.
And just when percy thought annabeth was going to bite his head off, her shoulders suddenly untensed and she slumped in her seat, tearing her piercing gaze away from percy, “she’s already been in so much pain and she doesn’t deserve to go through any more”
Percy looked at annabeth, normally after a fight she would keep her guard up for days, but she’d deflated so fast that percy forgot about his anger and worried for his friend.
“I’ve tried my best to stir her away from you- say that you’re just trouble”
“Thanks” percy scoffed, his anger coming back but he pushed it aside so that he could hear annabeth explain.
“but i’ve been friends with you for so long now and i know how good hearted you are and how loyal you are to those you care about” annabeth said quietly and she turned to face out the window.
Percy couldn’t help but feel some sort of pride, annabeth rarely complimented him.
“But i swear” she said, a little tightness creeping back into her voice,  “if you break her heart, i won’t hesitate to run my knife through you once all this titan crap if over, you understand?” she said, looking at percy with a hard look.
Percy couldn’t help but smile, annabeth had just given her blessing for percy to ask you out, “yes ma’am”
A ghost of a smile appeared on ananbeth’s face, “you’re such a seaweed brain”
....
Percy and his friends landed just in the middle of the cabins. They saw the battle raging on beneath them and percy dreaded to see it.
They were out numbered by a lot. There were dracnae, empousa, telkhines, hell hounds and even Kampe- percy had wished they’d seen the last of her.
Percy rushed forward and jumped straight into battle.
Even after his fight with Antaeus percy still felt like he could run miles- a perk from being adhd. He slashed, striked and stabbed every time he turned, taking down monster by monster.
But as he took down another telkhine, he saw a group of dracnae breaking off from the battle and slithering towards the cabins.
“Nico!” percy yelled as the younger boy stabbed another telkhine with his stygian iron sword.
Nico immediately understood and held out his sword, “serve me”
The ground began to shake and a fissure broke open in front of the dracnae. About a dozen skeleton soldiers, wearing a variety of military uniforms emerged from the ground. One of them shot up, stabbed a dracnae and pounced after another. Nico fell to his knees.
But before percy could go over and help him, he was knocked to the side by a huge black mass.
As he tumbled he got a mouth full of fur and as he hit the ground hard, he caught a glimpse of two red eyes and mouth filled with razor sharp fangs, wide open and ready to bite.
Percy’s sword arm was squashed under the hell hounds great paw, he couldn't move- this is it, he thought.
Then something whooshed past his ear, stabbing the ground next to him and the hound exploded into a cloud of black soot.
Percy tuned away to shield his eyes from the dust and saw the blood covered, drakon bone sword buried in the ground next to his head.
He sat up and saw you about twenty feet away, knees bent and arm still up from your throw, mouth slightly parted and a hard look on your face.
gods that was hot.
Then you suddenly straightened up and scowled at percy, “Get up you idiot!” and you rushed back into the battle- taking down a laistrygonian giant whilst you were at it.
Percy smiled, i love her.
But percy didn’t have time to dwell over how pretty you looked killing that empousa or how badass you were when you kicked that demigod in the gut, Kampe was causing a riot and had just crushed the command tent, he needed to take care of that.
He rushed forward, somehow finding annabeth along the way, “This might be it” percy said, half joking but there was a lot of truth to the statement.
“It was nice fighting with you” annabeth said.
“Ditto”
And they charged.
Kampe didn’t seem to see them as a threat, if she did, she didn’t show it.
Percy and annabeth worked like a team, one distracting her whilst the other aimed for a strike- but kampe just seemed to be able to fight independently with both hands, her animal bearing waist snapping at their hands if they swung too close.
Then as soon as percy saw an opening, he lunged only to be faced with a snarling face and amused eyes.
And he was suddenly knocked back and his back hit the ground a second time but he fought to stand up again but it looked like he didn’t need to.
Kampe was preoccupied with someone else.
“What’s a tiny little girl like you going to do?” she hissed, her clawed hands flexing around her bronze swords.
In front of her, the only thing keeping her from charging at percy and annabeth, stood you. You too held both your swords at your sides but you stood calm and collected, shoulders relaxed and feet shoulder width apart.
“I am the daughter of ananke, goddess of destiny- you shall fear me”
Percy couldn’t see your face but he imagined it was just as pretty as you sent Kampe a death stare.
But you stood still and did nothing, percy was worried that kampe would charge right at you and run her swords through you but she stood as still as you. It was like the two of you were having some show down until percy noticed the look of horror on kampe’s face.
He mouth was opened like it was stuck in a scream and her hands dropped her swords and came up to grab her throat.
Then she exploded in a fine cloud of yellow dust.
You turned, face full of concern, towards percy and annabeth who stood shocked behind you, but you weren’t looking at them but behind them.
They’d both been so shocked at your “you shall fear me” comment that they became completely unaware of the laistrygonian giant behind them.
Percy heard you scream, “run!” but his feet didn’t listen. But they didn’t need to.
A black mass jumped in front of them and knocked the giant aside.
“Good girl!” Dedalus exclaimed, running past and nodding towards percy.
Then behind him came the hundred handed giant Briares screaming as he charged along side Mrs O’Leary.
Percy couldn’t help but smile, until he felt a punch on his shoulder.
“I thought I told you not to do anything stupid!” You exclaimed, “That’s twice i’ve saved your life now-”
Percy kissed you on the cheek.
You blinked, “okay maybe i’ll let this one slide,” and you turned around and began to walk away slowly, effortlessly swinging your sword out to cut a dracnae in half along the way.
Annabeth nudged percy, he though she was going to swing her sword through him too but she had a sly smile on her face.
Suddenly a horrible sound resonated through the air.
All around him monsters began to drop their weapons and in the midst of looking around him dumbfounded, percy caught a glimpse of grover- his mouth wide open, releasing that horrible sound.
The army began to fall back, scrambling towards the mound of rocks, but you weren’t going to let them get away that easily.
As they narrowed down to fit through the fissure- pushing each other back to escape, you lifted up you hands and thrust them forwards.
The ground beneath began to rise, then shift in shape, almost like hands coming up from the earth. Then, the mounds of dirt came up and swallowed the last of the retreating army into the ground.
If the camp wasn’t shocked before, they were now.
You let your hands drop, and percy stood in shock at your back. Your long hair flowing down your back, being gently waved in the soft breeze. He noticed a rip in the back of your jeans but other than that there was no injury.
then you began to fall to the ground.
And percy rushed forward, arms out ready to catch you.
...
You and percy sat next to each other by the court. you wouldn’t normally find yourselves sitting there but you just wanted to get away from all the dread that was left on the battle field.
You sat quietly, trying to take in the loss of Lee, you hadn’t known him for long, but the fact that just hours ago you guys were laughing and joking made it sting even more.
Percy too sat next to you, carrying the same guilt you had, that you could’ve done more, could’ve been there to save them.
But in times like this, you knew you had the clearer head.
You let your hand rest on percy’s and no other words were needed to be said.
he looked at you, his eyes roaming your face as if he was looking for something, “not a scratch” he whispered, and you were taken a back.
you opened your mouth to protest but nothing came out resulting in an intake of breath that sounded like a gasp, although there was nothing surprising about the situation to you.
you turned your head away as if trying to hide the fact you had left the battle completely fine.
“i saw you talking to nico”
You let out a sigh of release, at least he’d changed the subject, “yeah, he’s an interesting boy, and it thought maybe if i was able to talk to him-”
“He’d stop pushing everyone away?” percy asked and you nodded.
“Look, I know you’re like an angel and everything but don’t beat youself up if nico doesn’t decide to stay, he’s experienced a lot” Percy said, as he put his hands behind his head.
You remembered your long talk with the son of hades.
After you had woken up and helped around healing campers (much to will’s distaste as he scolded you to rest), you had immediately gone to find him. He was easy to find, sat alone at the edge of the battle ground, near the fissure he had created. You sat down next to him, introduced yourself and encouraged him to do the same.
you wanted to know this boy’s story, what made him tick, but from what you heard from others that wasn’t going to be easy.
He wasn’t willing to at first, turning away and telling you to go and help heal others instead, so you decided that you would tell him your story first.
Surprisingly, he had listened and even more surprisingly, he began to open up.
“i didn’t remember much before westover hall” he began, fiddling with the silver ring on his finger, “All i had was bianca and so when i found out i was apart of this world of myths like my mythomagic game, well- i thought i had found another thing”
“But then she joined the hunters and i felt so abandoned” a hard look came onto his face and you thought that he was going to stop talking then, but he continued, “I wanted to hate her for leaving me so easily but when she went on the quest i couldn’t help but ask Percy to protect her and she died anyways”
You swallowed hard, no matter how terrifying this kid may seem, he was still a kid. He had his fists clenched, pushing down on his knees that were brought up to rest just below his chin, his jaw clenched, “Bianca was the only one who accepted me and now she’s gone”
“Nico,” you began and you fought the urge to place a hand on his shoulder, “I know we barely know each other but there’s a reason why i wanted to talk to you”
The boy turned to you, his eyebrows raised in suspicion, “oh yeah?”
“Because percy, annabeth, grover, and even Thalia- they had talked about you to me all with the same concern. For someone who isn’t accepted, you sure are cared about” you smiled, seeing how he relaxed his shoulders a bit and turned to look at you.
“You’ve met Thalia too huh?” Nico asked and you nodded.
“During the time i went back to europe the hunters had taken a little trip to france and invited me along, I met her there and she asked me to join the hunters” you shrugged, remembering the daughter of zeus with short choppy black hair and startling blue eyes.
You glanced over at nico who was staring at you with admiration, “you were invited to hunt with them, offered immortality and you said no?”
You shrugged again “They'd offered me a place before back when i was on olympus, but i declined”
Nico looked at you with scrunched eyebrows, as if he was trying to see what made you tick.
“You may think that you don’t belong nico, but the people who care about you say otherwise” and you turned to look at the campers behind you and nico followed your gaze, “everyone here has gone through some terrible things, perhaps some not as much as others but it’s something that not every average mortal goes through. If there’s anyone who would have the least bit of understanding, it would be the people here. Yeah sure they may have their flaws, some may judge, but doesn’t everyone? even gods aren’t immune to prejudice. you need to start seeing these people as your allies, friends, perhaps even family and not as your enemies”
“And they can’t start seeing how great of a person you are if you keep yourself away” you said slowly, seeing how far the kid would let you push until he exploded and ran away again.
You saw him unclench and reclench his fists, he was thinking of what to say, maybe thinking how far he could run until you caught him.
You had to kill the blow of your last statement, make it relatable, “I understand if what i’m saying sounds like complete centaur poop like i said, i haven’t known you for long and we’ve only just met but what i said about those who have known you for long, it’s true, they care about you”
“they don’t care” nico spat out.
“Oh really? you said, “then why on earth did they insist on saving you then?”
Nico looked away, “it was a stupid decision”
“Because they care, they want you here in camp half blood”
You paused for a while, you thought you had blown it because nico straightened his posture as if to stand but he stayed seated, “I- i can’t stay”
You nodded, “Okay, though i must admit for someone who’s new to this demigod stuff you’re rather diligent and resourceful when it comes to lone wolfing,” you smiled as you saw the boy raise his eyebrows, “and if you ever need a place to come back to, well camp’s always ready to accept you and if you don’t want to stay here,”
You took a key out of your pocket and held it out to the boy, “i have a flat in brooklyn. I know you may not want my help or my pity and i respect that but it won’t do any good if you’re out there by yourself surviving in the wild. and if you refuse to stay at camp half blood, fine- but please, take the keys, and if you ever need a place to stay, go there”
The boy looked at the keys in your hand, his eyes wide and mouth open in shock, “I don’t want-”
“Nico, I know i don’t know you, heck, I know you feel like nobody does, but-”
You words got caught in your mouth, you knew saying that you pitied him or felt sorry for him would just push him away even more.
“There was a lot of people i couldn’t help today,” you said, the words coming out quietly, “And to be quite honest with you i wouldn’t be helping the gods at all if the world wasn’t at stake- they shouldn’t be letting their children take care of their matters”
If your kind words won’t working then you would have to turn to your bitterness.
“But i’ve learnt that if you hang onto your regret and hold grudges, you’ll only make things worse for yourself. It may be hard to let go but if you keep pushing yourself away things will only get harder. I get it, you may have not felt accepted in the past and have been through stuff that makes you think you’ll never fit in and i won’t try to pretend that i can completely understand what you’re going through. But i can’t stand to see another person lose themselves to hatred and bitterness, so if i can help you, that’s still something isn’t it?”
Nico stared at you, his expression confused and interlaced with a slight scowl as if to say, are you being serious?
“So if you won’t accept my help for yourself, then do it as a favour for me”
He stared at you, the confused expression melting away along with the slight scowl. His face shifted into look that made him seem dumbfounded and impressed.
He plucked the keys of of your hand gingerly as if he was still deciding wether to take them or not, “what you did on the field, that was some powerful energy you radiated, how come you haven’t disintegrated?”
You couldn’t help but laugh, “i guess i’m too stubborn to. But i could say the same for you, that raising of the dead trick was very impressive”
You thought you imagined it, but a little smile appeared on the boy’s face, “thanks”
“He’ll be okay” you said suddenly and percy turned to you,
“What?”
“I have a feeling he’s going to be more open now” you said reassuringly with a knowing smile on your face.
“What does that mean?” percy said then his eyes narrowed and looked at you suspiciously, “what did you say to him?”
You shrugged, “what i said to nico stays between me and nico”
“Okay, i won’t question it miss ‘you shall fear me’ ”
you punched percy, “shut up”
“I’m sorry, i’m sorry” he said, rubbing his arm where you had hit him, “what did you do to kampe anyways?”
“I squashed her lungs” you said simply, taking both your hands and pressing them together like you were praying to help picture your explanation.
“You- you what?” Percy sputtered and you looked at him, your head tilted.
“You don't get it? Want me to demonstrate?”
“No no no no- i get it now, a hundred percent” Percy smiled anxiously and waving his hands in front of him.
You smiled smugly and leaned back against the bench, “idiot”
“A concerned idiot,” Percy said, his voice now returning to a serious tone “Will told me how you were over doing it with your powers, when you collapsed i was so worried-”
You put your finger to his lips, “im fine- what you don’t think i can handle a little-”
“Y/N i’m beingg serious” percy said sternly and you lowered your hand.
“Percy, i’m fine, just needs a little getting used to, okay?” You said as sweetly as you could to shake percy off your case, but you were very touched by how much he cared.
He nodded his head, “If you say so”
“I do say so,” you stated, causing a smile to form on his face. His sea green eyes turning towards you and smiling,
“Of course, princess”
...
Normally you could control your dreams. This time you weren’t so lucky.
You found yourself back in your palace on olympus, with its ivory walls, golden furniture and constant glow as if it had just been scrubbed clean- the generic layout for an olympian house hold.
You were sitting at the dining room and was surrounded by your nymph maids who were clearing away breakfast. They didn’t say anything but smiled as they continued wiping down the table and taking the plates where your unfinished food sat untouched.
“You really must eat more” a young nymph who came up beside you. She was young looking, about 19? but she was probably about 100 years old. She had long flowing hair as if there was a breeze pushing it back and freckles dotted her face, crinkling together as she smiled at you.
“I’m not hungry” you said, and you became aware of the concerned faces of the other servant nymphs in the room.
“You need to eat!” the nymph insisted, sending you playful reproachful look, “otherwise you won’t grow!”
She was true about that part, you had been a little bit on the shorter side with your height as you grew up.
Suddenly you stood up from the table, pushing back the golden chair you were sitting on, the nymphs face turned into horror as she backed away from you.
Alll around you the golden haze that seemed to always brighten the room in an eternal golden hour dampened, the room tinged with a sickly green instead.
You remembered the day quite vaguely and the memory had almost slipped out of your mind. But you did remember how terrified the experience has left you but it happened so long ago that it almost felt like you had read it in a book, like the event hadn’t happed to you.
You hadn’t dreamed about this once since it had happened. normally you’d dream about reoccurring things and you’d be able to change something distressful into something less frightening but now you could only watch in horror as the scene unfolded.
The green tinge had turned out to be radiating from you. You looked down only to see a thick mist swirling around you like a snake closing in on your prey. You felt the same as you had on the day it happened - petrified. even though you knew exactly what happened, you still got the same shivers sent down your spine.
You felt your jaw unhinge and despite wanting to try again to change the course of your dream and trying to keep it shut, it pried open as if you weren’t doing your best to clench your mouth closed.
The same green mist poured out from your mouth, further filling the room with the sickly shade of green.
You mouth was opened but no scream came out instead your vocal chords began moving on their own- at least you thought they did. A voice ringed out through your body,
“Seven halfblooded shall answer the call, to storm or fire the world must fall”
You tried to release a cry, but you just began to choke on your own breath- still the voice continued
“an oath to keep with a final breath”
You couldn’t hear much against the pounding of your own heart but you saw clearly the rushing nymphs who tried to aid you but couldn’t seem to penetrate through the mist, satrys who ran out of the room, shouting for help, their faces laced with concern and fright as they glanced back at your body.
You hated to see them like this, servants- no, family who watched you grow up, you took care of you who taught you everything you knew, crying and paralysed with horror as they watched you be possessed by the spirit of the oracle of delphi.
You continued to choke on air but you weren’t control of your own body anymore.
“And foes bear arms to the doors of death”
Enough.
You snapped awake, sitting up in a cold sweat and breathing hard as if you actually had been choking.
You brought your hand to your mouth to cover it, shocked with how vivid that dream was.
How your brain had unlocked that almost forgotten memory, you didn’t know.
Then you blinked, closing your eyes for just a second, but you couldn’t open them again.
and then you felt yourself being sucked back into your dreams.
You were again in the olympian palace of your childhood, but this time the golden haze was back and the mist was gone. But that was the least of your problems.
You played sprawled on the floor, you felt the cool marble against you back and watched as worried faces of nymphs and satrys popped into your view, “Lady Y/N are you okay?”
“I- I’m-’ you began, still trying to catch your breath, but a voice interrupted.
“No one shall speak of this” the voice stated, calm and collected for someone whose daughter was just possessed.
The satrys and nymphs disappeared from your view and you were helped into a sitting position.
Standing in front of you was your mother, she looked angry but a type of anger that spurred on worries. There were deep lines etched between her brows, which made no sense since your mother didn’t look a day over 25.
She was a tall woman with long dark hair that was let loose to hang around her shoulders. She had an elegant face, pointed chin and high cheekbones which worked together to make her look highly intimidating yet extremely beautiful. Her slim figure was dressed in a loose silk dress that rested around her ankles and against the sunlight shining through the doorway she looked like, well- a goddess.
But this was ruined by the way she stared at you. Eyes narrowed and looking hard into your soul as if somehow it was your fault you were encapsulated by green mist.
She walked towards you and you didn’t find the strength to get up. She knelt down beside you, her dress pooling around her like a mini whirlpool of fabric, “are you alright? do you remember what you said?”
the ‘are you alright?’ made sense, the ‘do you remember what you said?’ absolutely did not.
You nodded your head, “seven half bloods-”
You mother shook her head, “no need to recite” she said kindly but you could tell that this bothered her.
It hadn’t occurred to you then how you remembered what you had said, the only thing you were aware about was your own internal screaming. The first time you had actually heard the words clearly was in your dream and yet you still didn’t fully memorise the lines.
“i’m afraid this is more graver than we thought” your mother began a look of grimace passing over her face. You didn’t know if it was the fact that she no longer was basked in the sunlight but she seemed to age as she scanned your face.
You couldn’t take it, just seeing your mother had made you far too emotional already, but seeing her worried and anxious seemed to just push you to breaking point.
So you put all your will power into tearing away from that dream, it’s all in my head it’s all in my head.
you forced your eyes open causing your body to finally snap back into reality and grab ahold of itself.
Your were still sat up in the position you left in, a layer of blankets around and the weak rays of morning sun shining through your curtained window. Sunrise? but you were pretty sure you had gone back into your dream when it was still pitch black in your room but you swear you had only dreamed for only a few minutes.
shakily, you brought your head up to look at the ceiling. Somewhere, three floors above you was the mummified body of the oracle which held the green mist that had possessed you ten years ago. You were terrified.
...
Percy thought he deserved a little bit of happiness. But alas, nothing could ever go in his favour.
Yesterday, at the counsellors meeting they held, the subject about the many demigods luke had recruited came up and that led to very colourful argument between you and percy.
“I agree, the numbers of demigods were very disturbing” chiron said, resting his elbows on the arms of his wheelchair, “and how luke had gotten his hands on so many, i cannot say”
“Well we know where he got some of them,“ Michael Yew the newly appointed head counsellor of apollo said under his breath but it was clear that he had wanted everyone to hear.
Across the table clarisse scowled, “You want to say that a bit louder?” and she made her way to stand up but silena held her down.
By now word of chris rodriguez’s return had gone around camp. he was a demigod who had joined luke’s army but had been found in the labyrinth driven to insanity and then healed by Dionysus. He was reaccepted back into camp and no one had really objected against the notion- especially since he was clarisse’s boyfriend.
“moving on,” chiron interjected, looking reproachfully at michael who was now in a stare down with connor and travis stoll, “I believe that luke must be actively seeking recruits, especially those who had not yet been introduced to their demigod lives. Our protecters are doing their best to keep the demigods away from the titan army but that is all they can do lest they are attacked or worse, have their own demigods turned against them”
“Isn’t there anything else we can do?” percy questioned, he remembered ethan nakamura, a demigod he had met in the labyrinth and did not have the heart to kill. Yet he had stabbed percy in the back and had been the final part in awakening kronos. He didn’t want any other demigods to be brainwashed and forced to lay down their lives for an evil cause.
Chiron looked grimly at the counsellors, “I’m afraid our protecters are already spread out thin, especially now with grovers newly found mission to protect the wild on pan’s orders, there isn’t much we can do”
“But there has to be!” percy complained, “Luke’s manipulating kids as young as 7 to fight for kronos, and we’ll have no choice but to fight against them. Can’t we send campers to help the protecters?”
Chiron nodded, “I understand that percy but our numbers are already extremely low. And i do not want to be pessimistic but if we are to fight against kronos we are not in the best shape. we need everyone at camp half blood training and preparing, we can’t afford to send anyone away”
Percy was filled with anger yet he completely saw where chiron was coming from. He opened his mouth to argue back- even though he knew he couldn’t win against chiron but you spoke up instead.
“How about if I go?” you suggested politely and the whole table turned their heads to you, “I have a pretty good sense for demigods, and monsters as well. And I’ll be able to bring them to camp half blood and maybe find satrys and bring them back with their demigods too”
Chiron paused for a second, considering this before speaking up, “that is a very brave suggestion, Y/N but it is far too risky-”
“I can do it,” you interrupted, the polite smile on your face disappeared and was replaced with a determined look, “I’ll bring back as many demigods I can”
Percy stared at you dumbfounded, he wanted nothing more but for chiron to shut you down and tell you that you weren’t leaving camp on your own.
It had been him who had suggested the idea in the first place, but he didn’t think that you would offer to go out scouting on your own.
“she’s right!” Beckendorf spoke up,“ if there’s anyone at camp who could do it it’s Y/N”
You sent a warm smile of thanks to beckendorf and percy sent him a death glare.
“Yeah, I must say if there’s anyone who can afford to miss training, it’s Y/N” clarisse supported and Percy started to panic as a wave of agreeing murmur echoed around the room.
“Then it’s decided, Y/N can go out and look for demigods-”
“No!” Percy stood up and the whole room stared at him in shock.
“No?” you questioned, slight amusement in your voice, “percy it was you who suggested-”
“I know” percy said, his voice tight, “but what I suggested is that multiple campers go”
You too stood up, your brow furrowed and your jaw set in a challenging look, “yeah but what difference does it make? Satyrs go out to find demigods by themselves, i’m just doing what they do”
Percy had to fight to keep standing up, you’d never looked so angry and the fact that you kept your voice calm scared him even more, “Yeah but you’re a demigod out there by yourself, you’ll fall right into lukes hands!”
“Oh so you think i can’t handle it?” you said slowly.
“I didn’t say that!” percy exclaimed, his voice raising.
“Really? because it sounded like you meant that”
The rest of the counsellors and chiron had gone silent, their heads kept going back and forth between you and percy like they were watching an intense tennis match.
“Well it wasn’t what i meant, what i’m saying is that this is a bad idea and you shouldn’t go-”
“Don’t tell me what to do!” you shouted, and the whole room made a collective gasp, nobody had ever seen you lose your cool before and it was extremely frightening.
“don’t you dare for a second think you can order me around” you said quietly, clipping every syllable so that each word felt like a stab to percy’s heart.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Percy scoffed, the way you were flexing your hand as if wishing you could strangle him provoking him even more, “no matter how powerful you may be you can’t go out there by yourself”
“Why can’t i percy?” you questioned and you sounded as if you could laugh, “if it was any other camper you wouldn’t be so defensive about it would you? you’d even jump at the chance to do the job yourself so why in the world does it concern you when it’s me?!” you voice rising again, your hands still in the position of when you had gestured to yourself.
Percy stood there staring at you. He didn’t know what to say, what could he say? “because i don’t want the girl i like to go on a dangerous mission and risk her life before i get the chance to tell her how i feel that’s why”. He couldn’t even bring himself to speak because of the way you were staring at him with your eyes locked on him, narrowed. you were fuming, percy was surprised you hadn’t crushed his lungs yet.
Even for someone your height you were without a doubt the most intimidating person in the room at that moment. And that included beckendorf who was the biggest guy in camp and the same height as you sitting down and clarisse who had her army boots resting on the table and was sharpening her pocket knife.
Suddenly you turned to chiron, “when can i leave?”
Percy let his mouth fall open, you were leaving just like that?
Chiron looked at percy before answering you with a tired voice, “you can leave at sunrise tomorrow, i’ll have argus drive you to the city”
You nodded once, “Thank you, may i please be excused?”
Chiron blinked his eyes slowly and nodded. You left the room with one fleeting hurt gaze at percy. And with that the guilt came crashing down on him.
Annabeth sent percy a ‘you only had to go and do it’ look and stood up, “Chiron can i-”
“Go” chiron said without hesitation and annabeth rushed out of the room.
The room was silent for a while as chiron wheeled his wheelchair to the side to pour himself a glass of water.
Nobody knew what to say, they just all stared at the door you had left through and avoided looking at percy.
“You messed up big time man” Connor snickered, and katie gardener punched him.
Percy sat back down in his seat, “She hates me”
“You got that right” travis added, who too, receive a punch from katie.
Later percy was hoping to see you at dinner, but you weren’t there. In fact, he hadn’t seen you all day, nobody had except for annabeth- of course, since you had locked yourself in your room “preparing” for your leave.
Percy felt guilty, he didn’t mean for it to come out like that. But when you put him on the spot, asking him why he cared, he couldn’t have possibly just said why.
“Hey percy!”
Percy turned around, and found annabeth running towards him, oh my gods she's going to kill me.
“Annabeth I didn’t mean-”
She put her hand up, “I know, you had good intentions and i honestly i would’ve done the same”
Percy felt himself release a sigh of relief, so it looks like he wasn’t going to get a serving of knife in the gut.
“But it’s the right choice, there are other demigods lives at risk here too, and Y/N our best choice for preventing that. Don’t worry so much, she’ll be fine” Annabeth reassured as her and percy made their way to the cabins.
Percy looked over at the big house, he could see the lights in your room were on, “Is she still-”
“angry at you?” annabeth finished and percy nodded sheepishly, “she still kind of is. I don’t know what she was expecting though, a love confession? I think she was just more angry at the fact that you’d let anyone else go but not her”
Percy sputtered, “no- uhm but, yeah but it’s only because-”
“Don’t worry, i know” Annabeth patted percy on the shoulder condescendingly, “but you should really go see her off tomorrow though”
“I was planning on that already,” Percy said.
He had imagined of what you might say or more like what you might not. You might just ignore him completely and he’d look like a total loser or dead if he’d angered you enough.
So the next morning at sunrise percy made his way to the top of half blood hill. Others had come to see you off at the big house where everyone was supposed to say goodbye, but percy didn’t exactly want your little ‘make amends session’ to be witnessed by everyone.
He just hoped you hadn’t left yet.
He could still sense you though, over time you had gotten better at hiding your radiance- how? percy didn’t know. But whenever you were close by he could just feel your presence. And he could feel your presence getting stronger as he approached the top of the hill.
When he got there you stood leaning on one leg and arms folded, giving percy one of your stoic expressions.
“I uh-” percy halted to a stop and suddenly was at a lost of words.
He had expected to shout you name dramatically and have you spin around and face him in shock and then you’d run up to him and give him a hug, because he had come to see you off in the end. He didn’t expect for you to expect him and catch him off guard.
“Uh, hi?” Percy tried and it took a good second before you finally gave him a response- a raised eyebrow but that was better than blasting percy of the hill.
Percy took in a deep breath, “Y/N i’m really sorry for what i said yesterday it’s just, i don’t want you getting hurt okay? If something were to happen to you-” but percy faltered as he saw you smiling.
“You’re forgiven, but i wasn’t really that mad in the first place” you said softly and percy took this as a sign that he could walk closer to you.
“And i’m sorry too” you said, “i shouldn’t have shouted back”
percy laughed, “it’s okay”
Percy’s laughing died out and the two of you stood just looking at the view. Despite standing so close, the two of you said nothing. It was just like the last time you had left camp, nothing had changed- it was something about half blood hill that made the two of you to not know how to say goodbye.
“Just let me go with you” percy asked abruptly as he turned his body to look at you.
You were taken by surprise but as always the emotion faded to that kind stoic face of yours, “percy, you have bigger things to worry about”
Percy cursed to himself, why did his stupid fate always have to get in the way of things? He was extremely tempted right now to say screw bigger things, and just run off with you to find demigods, fight monsters- he didn’t care what the two of you did, as long as he was with you.
BEEP.
The sound made percy jump and he spun around to see the white van that argus was waiting for you in,
“I’d better go,” you said in panic and started walking away, “I guess i’ll see you later percy”
Percy knew you were only acting so casual, as if you were going to be back that night, because you were scared that there was a possibility that you weren’t going to see him again.
You had always been an optimistic person and always tried to pretend that everything was going to be okay. “if you act like things are going to be alright then they will”  You always used to say to percy, since you said he was such a pessimist.
So it made perfect sense to percy that you didn’t make this seem like your last goodbye.
Percy hated it to be like this but he knew time wasn’t on your side, and he stood shocked and not knowing what to do as he watched you begin to walk away from him.
Maybe it’s for the best, he thought and turned around to make his own way back to camp before he could run after you, whisk you up in his arms and lock you away from harm.
“Percy!”
He looked over his shoulder and was slammed into by you that the force nearly caused the both of you to tumble down the hill.
The second he felt your arms around him he hugged you back, tighter. Percy felt his heart beating faster- it was already beating fast but it was only now he noticed it, as you pressed into his body and tugged at the fabric at the back of his hoodie.
When you looked up at him you eyes were tearing up, “I’ll miss you, a lot”
“I’ll miss you too princess” percy grinned.
he almost let out a growl of frustration, the two of you could have had the whole of yesterday to spend with each other, but because of your argument he was only getting these last few seconds with you to say goodbye.
“Don’t do anything-” you started, you voice cracking sightly but you were cut off.
Percy took a hold of the side of your face and place his lips on yours.
At first, percy was worried, he didn’t mean to kiss you without your permission and he was about to pull away and start profusely apologising, but you kissed him back.
Then percy smiled into the kiss, he almost couldn’t carry on from how big he was grinning.
He finally pulled back looking at your pretty face, for all he knew, for the last time, “stupid?” he smirked, “yeah, wasn’t planning on it”
A smile cracked across your face, “idiot”
Percy laughed as he finally let you go.
BEEP.
You looked over you shoulder at the car at the road, argus was probably really annoyed at how long you were taking.
You then looked at percy with a soft gaze and a kind smile, “Goodbye percy jackson” and you began walking backwards towards the road.
“See you later princess,” percy chuckled, lifting his hand to give you a wave.
And at that moment he saw your smile falter, it was like watching a tank filled to the brim with water crack.
but before he could see anything else, you spun around and ran down half blood hill.
And with an arrow in his heart, percy watched you race down towards the road, knowing very well that this could be the last time he would see the daughter of ananke again.
If only Bianca could delete that Saturday from her life, she would. It’s 7 in the morning and here she is, putting her maroon cardigan over her floral dress to get ready for the day that she never thought that she would face.
The day to say goodbye to the love of her life.
Bianca gently brushes her long dark locks with her fingers as she looks at her own refelction in the mirror. She suddenly got distracted by a picture that she tacked on her mirror. It’s a polaroid picture of her and Grayson in the back of his Porsche, from the night she lost it to him. Bianca smiling as she took the picture with her camera, with Grayson’s arms wrapped around her, smiling as well. Literally the best night of her life.
Once she’s all set, she heads downstairs to the kitchen only to grab her favorite juicebox. Her mom, who’s sitting on the stool in the counter with her dad, greets her with a smile.
“Good morning, miss pouty,” she teases, since Bianca looks so quiet that morning, completely different with the usual Bianca.
“Morning, mom,” she replies shortly.
“You okay?,” she glances over at her daughter who’s making her way towards the fridge.
“I’m...,” she pauses as she turns around to face her, and she shakes her head. “I’m not okay, Mom. I don’t want him to leave,” she replies in shaky voice. It’s obvious she’s trying to hold herself back from crying.
“Oh, my little baby,” her dad opens his arms wide to scoop her into a hug. “Both of you will be okay. You can text each other, facetime too—“
“No, you don’t get it. I want him around me. Like physically, not only through the phone,” Bianca lays her her head on her dad’s shoulder as she mumbles. “Actually... I’ve been thinking,” she pauses once again.
“About?,” her mom arches her brow as a reaction to her statement.
“I— uh... I want to move to LA with him,” she replies absent-mindedly. Her parents remain silent as she speaks again. “Like... I know I said that I want to go to Bloomfield, but honestly... I— I want to move somewhere new, and you know—,” she sighs.
“Go on, baby, we’ll listen,” her dad encourages her to go on.
“Well— Grayson asked me to move to to LA, with him, because he wants me near, and honestly, I do want it to. But in the other hand... I—I just want to be a good daughter. I want to spend my time as much as I can with you two,” she chews her lower lip. “I mean— I know it’ll hurt you two but—.”
Her father quickly shakes his head as he pulls away for a bit so he can face his only daughter. “Bianca, what? Hurt us? You’re not hurting us!,” he replies.
“But I’m going to leave—“
“Sweetie, we’ll be okay! Do whatever makes you happy. Chase your dreams. You’ll always have our support,” her mom adds. “You can visit us during breaks, and Grayson can visit his family too!,” she speaks excitedly.
“Wait, you’re okay with me leaving?,” Bianca frowns.
“Of course! Honey, you’re no longer a kid,” her dad gently pats her back. “If the idea of moving to a new place with your loved one makes you happy, do it, baby. We’re not holding you back,” he nods his head.
“Are you sure?,” Bianca asks once again to make sure about that.
“Sweetie, we’ll be okay. We’ll stay in touch,” her Mom replies.
“I love you. I love you two so much,” Bianca lets out a soft sigh as she pulls her parents into a group hug for a while. “I promise, I’ll be good. And we can talk everyday, yeah?,” she mumbles.
“Promise. Now it’s time for you to see your man for the last time before he leaves. We can discuss about this once you’re back, it’s nearly 7.45, honey,” her dad reminds her.
“Right, see you later, i love you!,” Bianca quickly pulls away and grabs her juicebox along with her keys.
She just can’t wait to tell him about the news.
———————————————————————
“That’s my girl!,” Bianca can hear Grayson’s voice echoes through the hallway as soon as he sees her making her way towards him. She gets to excited that she starts running towards him. Grayson decides to match her energy by opening his arms wide to welcome her into a hug. Ethan is there as well. He waves his hand at her before he shifts his gaze back to Mabel, who was talking to him.
“I thought you’re not coming,” Grayson pokes out his bottom lip as he carefully lifts her off the ground. Bianca quickly shakes her head as she moves her hands up to cup his cheeks.
“No, I’m definitely coming. I need to see you for the last time,” she replies.
“Oh, hey, I have something for you,” Grayson carefully sets her down after few moments before he shoves his hand into the pocket of his denim jacket that he’s wearing. He quickly pulls out a small maroon box, with a bow on it, and opens it.
A small padlock necklace, with the letter G engraved on the back of the padlock.
“Grayson, it looks so pretty,” Bianca stands in awe as she watches him taking the necklace out of the box.
“Not as pretty as my girl, and oh! I got my initial engraved, see?,” he enthusiastically shows the back of the padlock, where she can see the letter G engraved there, to her.
“Grayson, you actually don’t have to—“
“Shh, let me put it on you. Turn around,” he quickly cuts her off. Bianca quickly turns around so he can put the necklace on her. Once he’s done, she reaches her hand up to touch the padlock.
“You’re mine, and all mine. That’s why I’m choosing padlock. Also, it’s the place were I should be, right next to your heartbeat, just like what Ed Sheeran said,” he smiles.
“We’re going to be away from each other for two weeks, Gray,” Bianca replies, hoping he would notice the fact that she mentions the word two weeks.
“Yeah— wait, two weeks?,” Grayson glances over at his girl with a slight frown.
Bianca nods her head quickly as the smile on her face grows even wider than before. “Give me two weeks, I’ll pack my stuff and move in with you,” she explains.
“Bianca, what—“
“I talked to my parents this morning and they’re okay with me moving to LA. Now, please give me two weeks to pack my things amd prepare everything. We’ll be together again soon, Gray,” she squeals, throwing her arms around his neck to close the gap between them.
“Holy fuck!,” Grayson yells, so loud that probably the everyone around the hallway can hear him. “Baby, that’s fantastic!,” he scoops his girlfriend into another hug.
“I know! I can’t wait!,” she giggles.
“Dolan? Is that you?,” an unfamiliar voice distracts the lovebirds.
Grayson shifts his gaze from the girl in her arms to the one standing three feet away from him. There stands a girl with long blonde hair, with a pair of blue eyes, and very much taller than Bianca.
“Yeah, yeah, it’s me. Wait— Alana?,” Grayson squints his eyes.
“Yeah, it’s me!,” the blonde girl replies. Bianca quickly shifts his gaze from her boyfriend, then to the new girl that she just met as she pulls away from the hug.
“Damn, it’s been a while, hey!,” Grayson comments. The girl that he’s talking to wraps her arms around his torso, pulling him into a quick hug.
Who’s this girl?
“This is my girlfriend, Bianca. Bianca, this is Alana Whitman, one of my old friends, also... Oliver’s ex-girlfriend,” he speaks in playful tone like he’s messing with her. Oliver is one of Grayson’s cousins.
“Oh, shut up,” Alana playfully shoves him off.
But what catches Bianca’s attention is the name of the girl in front of her, not the fact that she’s Oliver’s ex-girlfriend. Alana Whitman.
Bianca met Alana once when she was 13, on the twins’ birthday party. She has been friends with the twins since they were younger. But that’s not the most important part. The thing is, Alana is Grayson’s first kiss. Though it only happened once, all thanks to that stupid spin-the-bottle game. Grayson also told her once that he used to have a crush on Alana, but it’s all over once he had to witness Alana choosing his cousin instead of him.
Who wouldn’t have a crush on Alana Whitman? Super tall, blue eyes, straight blonde hair. Isla’s nothing compared to her.
“Oh, hello there,” she gives Bianca a small smile. Bianca nods her head as she waves her hand.
“Hey, anyway, where are you going, Alana?,” Grayson asks.
“I’m going to LA,” she smiles.
“Wait, LA? We are too— I mean, Ethan and I. Bianca’s leaving next week,” Grayson elaborates. “Boarding time?,” Grayson asks.
“09.50. Yours?,” Alana answers once she checked her boarding pass.
“Me too! I hope we’re sitting not way too far from each other so I can talk to you, because I’m sure Ethan will sleep during the whole flight,” he chuckles.
Bianca remains quiet. She kinda feels excluded there, but she doesn’t know where to go, since Ethan’s busy talking to Mabel.
“Oh, and hey, I think it’s time for us to leave?,” Alana takes a quick glance at her watch before she shifts her gaze back to Grayson.
“Oh, yeah, right,” he nods before he shifts his gaze back to his girlfriend. “Baby, it’s time,” he coos.
“Yeah. I know. I’ll miss you,” Bianca mumbles as she wraps her arms around his torso, so tight that she doesn’t want to let him go.
“2 weeks, and then we’ll be together again,” he hugs her back.
“Gray?”
“Yeah?”
“You’re mine, you’re— all mine,” she whispers in his ear. Grayson shakes his head as he squeezes her gently.
“I know, baby, I know,” he nods. “Be good when I’m away, yeah?,” he tucks a strand of her hair to the back of Bianca’s ear.
“I will. And you too, yeah?,” she gently bites down her lower lip. He gives her another nod as a respond.
“C’mon, E, it’s time,” Grayson calls for his twin. Ethan gives Mabel a quick hug before he grabs his suitcase and follows Grayson and Alana.
Bianca tugs her hands on the edge of her cardigan as he watches her favorite man walking away with his twin and that girl. She bites her lower lip once again to hold herself back from crying. But a moment later, there she stands, screaming his name.
“Grayson!”
Hearing her calling his name, Grayson turns around, only to find her running towards him to plant a soft kiss onto his lips. In reflex, Grayson cups her cheeks as he returns the kiss.
“I love you, Grapeson. See you in two weeks, please wait for me,” Bianca sniffles as she pulls away.
“And I love you, Bumblebee. I’ll be waiting, baby,” he scoops her into a hug one more time before he waves his hand for the last time and turns around to follow Ethan and Alana.
One thing running inside her head as she watches him leaving.
Why leaving in two weeks if she can leave next week?
She needs to mark her own territory.
The door had slammed a few minutes ago. The apartment was almost silent, the windows had been locked.
You were sitting on the floor, between the couch and the coffee table, and haven't moved in a while. There were still fresh tears streaming down your face, you were still staring at the key in front of you and were still reliving the horrible events that had taken place a few moments ago.
"I literally can't stand looking at your face anymore." He spat, staring you down as you stared at him in confusion "I am so tired of this, of you! I was happier before you, I thought what we were doing was the right thing, but I just got bored. I think I wanted to experience how it would be like to be in a relationship. I did, now I don't want to do this anymore."
"What?" You quietly asked "I don't understand... We've been dating for three years, how could you... How could you be experiencing something for three years?"
He didn't answer, instead grabbed his key and placed it on the coffee table.
"We are done."
You watched him grab his suit cases, watched him stand at the door and look you in the eyes with no emotion on his face.
"Goodbye, y/n." And then he slammed the door shut
You were still trying to process everything, trying to find a reasonable explanation for his behavior, for what he did, but there was none. All of the things people told you about him was right, you were just too in love to see the truth lying right in front of you. You were just too drunk in his kisses, touches and tender words to realize how fake all of this was. But at the end, everyone was right.
Damian Wayne broke your heart.
The weeks went by like a blur, trying to get your life back together. Throwing yourself at work so you wouldn't have to remember you were going back home every night to an empty house.
His family used to come a lot to visit you, now you only saw them staring at your window from across a rooftop. You would stare at them for a while, they would wave and you would wave back, but turn back around because looking at them reminded you of him. Red Hood would check up on your apartment a lot, Nightwing, Red Robin, you even saw Batman once or twice, but never Robin and that only broke your heart even more.
There was no point in still holding on a bit of hope, so you grabbed a box and put in it all of the stuff that reminded you of him. His old t-shirts and hoodies you'd wear to sleep, in the box. The drawings he made of you and gave you as a gift, in the box. Pictures you had with him around the apartment, in the box. His coffee mug, in the box. The gifts he gave you along the years, in the box. That blanked you two used to wrap yourselves up on the couch and snuggle together, in the box.
It felt like a fresh start once you had gotten rid of everything that reminded you of him. And it actually was, throwing yourself at work did help too because it earned you a promotion and a new job location, far away from Gotham and all the way to Upper East Side in New York. Life really seemed to be taking a new direction to you, and that was all you needed at the moment.
Soon your apartment was empty, it was sold and soon the new owners would arrive. Red Hood frowned when he saw your lights hadn't been turned on five nights in a row. He always saw your lights up, this was weird.
"She moved out." Was all he said after investigating, just in case you had been kidnapped or something worse
Damian nodded, not bothering to look at his brothers. If he did, everyone would have seen how his eyes were red and how he was trying hard not to cry.
You, on the other hand, was crying because you weren't alone anymore. There was a baby on the way. How the hell are you supposed to take care of a baby on your own in a new city where the only people you know are your co-workers and they are still very unknown to you?
Thankfully, as the months passed, you actually got friends who would help you manage all of the baby stuff. Carter would always be around to make sure you were eating just fine and not overworking yourself, Lizzie would always be around to keep you company and even moved in until you had the baby, just in case something happened.
You always pictured yourself having a family with Damian by your side, life is funny. Now you had different people by your side while pregnant with his child. You just wished the kid to not have his eyes, that would be a bit too much for you to handle.
You didn't want him to know about the kid, you were fine dealing with it alone, but Tim was too stubborn. You had bumped on him on the street - what he was doing in New York was a mystery to you - and he recognized you right away.
"Y/n you're having a baby, Damian's baby! He has to know."
You shook your head "He wants nothing to do with me, Tim. I don't want him to know about the baby, this is my choice. I am the mother!"
"I am going to tell him." He pulled his phone from his pocket "I'm going to call him and ask him to come to New York."
"You do that and I will disappear. It will be just me and the baby, and no one will be able to find us. You know I can do that."
Tim stopped, phone mid air. You did learn a lot from them, and of course you would know how to disappear without leaving any traces and it would take a lot of time to trace you, and maybe by the time they did it you could already be at a new and different location, far far away from your previous one.
"Ok." He sighted "I won't tell him anything, but I want to be part of the baby's life. I want to be around and be able to help you with anything he or she might need."
You nodded, that was the least you could allow. And that's how he became favorite and lovely uncle Timmy. It actually warmed your heart to see your little baby Nia get to play around with Tim when he came to visit. No one knew about this, everyone always thought he was in New York for Wayne Enterprises business.
The weirdest part of all of this wasn't one of Damian's brothers knowing the truth and not him, it was mother knowing the truth and not him.
When Talia showed up at your apartment out of nowhere, you thought you were going to die. She looked at you in the eye and then asked to see her granddaughter, she wanted to see the heir of the League. In the middle of her wanting and swearing to precept her baby granddaughter, your relationship did kind of evolve. She didn't judge you for not telling her son about the baby, she did the same with Bruce. You wouldn't talk much, just about Nia, but it was nice to know there was always someone looking out for your both safety.
She was a bit extreme, always, but Nia knew who her grandmother was, knew who her uncle was, knew who your parents were, knew who your friends was. She was getting a normal life and lots of love, and that was all you could wish for.
Nia did love Carter, a lot, and that was a bonus for your blossoming relationship. You didn't know how it happened, it feels like in this three years time passed so fast, and before you could even realize it there was a ring on your finger and a promise of new house, where there would be a start of a new family and future wedding. You were getting that happy ending you dreamed about.
Talia took you and Nia out of town, said there was an upcoming threat and once you realized it, she had driven you three to the Wayne Manor. Specifically to the Cave, the last place you wanted to be, you never thought you would ever come back to this place, ever again.
"There is a League enemy seeking out revenge. We must keep y/n and the baby safe!" Was all she said, ushering you inside with Nia in your arms - who were trying to break free to explore her new surrounds "You protect them while me and the League deal with the matter."
Everyone just stood still, staring at the three of you. Damian felt like he was being punched several times while being stabbed at the same time. You were standing in front of him after three years. After three years of him missing you dearly everyday you were finally back.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Tim asked, arriving at the cave with a fresh mug of coffee in hand
Oh, how you wished he hasn't shown up. Nia's eyes went wide upon hearing his voice, she released herself from your grasp, running for dear life and throwing herself on Tim while screaming the happiest uncle Timmy ever. His eyes went wide as he grabbed her before she hit the ground, securing her with her legs around his waist. She hugged his neck, giggling in his ear.
He looked at you waiting for an explanation, but you were just frozen.
"What the fuck!" Jason exclaimed
"Language around the baby!" Talia repreenhed him, glaring in his direction
This couldn't be happening, no, this is just a dream and you're going to wake up really soon to get to work. That's it.
They were all staring at you, then Tim, then Talia and doing it all over again in a loop. You could almost see their brains functioning real fast to try and catch up with all of this weird and random stuff going on here.
"Talia brought you here because there is a League enemy on the loose and therefor you might be in danger..." Bruce stated slowly, breaking the silence "That is your daughter?" He pointed at the baby that was still hugging Tim and smiling at him as he poked her sides. You nodded, too afraid to say something "And she called Tim her uncle because they already knew each other and he is her uncle. For Talia to be worrying about your safety means you can't get hurt because of the baby... And she is only worried about the baby because she is her granddaughter. So, I'm guessing Damian is the father?"
You couldn't even bring yourself to deny and say you had gotten careless after the break up and had a one night stand with a random dude who got you pregnant. There was to many evidences pointing Damian as the father, and of course, she had his damn eyes!
Damian was staring at you with pure love and adoration. You two had a daughter? A beautiful daughter? He looked over at her, seeing her dimply smile and chubby hands hitting Tim's shoulder. He couldn't help the jealousy that over took him, his brother knew his daughter better than him.
"That's so cool! I have a niece!" Dick exclaimed, taking big steps to where Nia was "Hello! I'm your uncle Dick, what's your name, little one?"
Your daughter frowned at him, resembling Damian when he's mad.
"Mommy says dick is a bad word and you shouldn't say it."
Everyone laughed at his face, the mood being lighten up a little by what she had just said.
"That's his name, little bird." Tim explained "He's my older brother, so he is your uncle too."
Nia nodded, still a bit taken a back with his name and holding on thiger on Tim, not really trusting the new said uncle.
You looked at Tim, hoping he would know a way to get you out of this mess. He was going to listen to an earful of things too, I mean he kept your secret from his whole family, you weren’t the only wrong one in this - although you did kind of manipulate him into doing what you wanted, but that was what is best for your daughter.
“Alright, I’m going to give Nia her afternoon fruit and then some cookies if she behaves.” He announced, leaving with your daughter in his arms who waved you goodbye
Dick stood still, frowning sadly.
“I don’t think she likes me.”
“She is very reserved with new people, nothing personal.” You said, hoping it would ease the tension that had installed once more
Bruce cleared his throat “I’m going to talk to Talia about this upcoming threat. Dick, Jason, why won’t you let Alfred know that y/n and the baby are staying over?”
At that, everyone left the room. Your eyes lingered on Talia’s figure waiting for an outburst of her telling she wouldn’t leave and stay there with you. She only glanced at you as if saying talk to him, and then left.
You closed your eyes, it was now or never. You knew he was probably already standing behind you. You've known Damian for a very long time, so when you turned around you had to take a step back because he was too close for your liking.
You took a while to take in his features. He seemed to had gained more muscles over the years, his eyes were soft and he same a small, almost imperceptible, smile on his face.
He was trying to engrave your new looks in his memories. How you hair was a bit lighter and shorter than before, your face, your body. Everything.
“What’s her name?” He questioned
You thought he was going to yell at you, curse you and say he doesn’t want that baby in his life, not ask her name.
“Nia. She’s two.”
He nodded his head, pursing his lips before speaking again.
“Why didn’t you tell me? Why did you leave?”
You frowned “You broke up wit me, said you got bored and didn’t want to see me again. You’re the one that left! I simply didn’t want you in my life anymore, I couldn’t risk it you growing bored of Nia and leaving her the same way you left me. I can handle being broken, but I wouldn’t be able to watch my daughter be heartbroken and thinking she did something wrong.”
Damian’s eyes went wide. Is that what you think of him? That he is just an asshole that gets bored once he gets what he wants? He should’ve handled the situation better three years ago, things would be so much different right now.
“Y/n, no, I would never do something like that. I’m sorry for what I did three years ago, I was trying to protect you! They were targeting you, they were going to kill you if they knew I still cared, so I had to do what I did. I get that I was an idiot and that I couldn’t handled this way better, and I am truly sorry. But never, for one moment, think I wouldn’t want to have been by your side during all those time. I dreamed about getting you back into my arms, and now we have a daughter?! A beautiful and incredible baby girl! I am not letting you go, ever again. I love you so much, I don’t think I will ever be able to stop loving you.”
That you couldn’t answer. What were you supposed to tell him? Obviously Damian had been a big part of your life, and although it ended badly, he was your first actual love, the first person you moved in together, you grew together until it ended and you started growing on your own. A part of you will always love him, but it doesn’t seem worth it anymore, not after all of this.
“Damian... you know that if you want to be part of Nia’s life you can do that, you are her father, but if you ever step out of line, I will no hesitate to cut off.”
He nodded eagerly “I will tell father and we will start the preparations. Until we find a house to move in together, I will make sure Nia has a room here and...”
“What are you talking about?” You frowned “I said you could be part of her life, it doesn’t mean we are moving back here. We are staying in New York, I have a life there, Damian. I have a job, friends, fiancé. I am not leaving all of that behind.”
“You’re... You’re getting married?” He looked like a lost puppy who got kicked, it actually warmed your heart a bit “Of course you are, only an imbecile wouldn’t put a ring on your finger when given the chance.”
You bit on your lower lip. This was getting deeper then you had wanted it to go.
“I’m sorry.” You weren’t even sure why you were apologizing “He’s been around me when I needed, helped me when I was pregnant and Nia really loves him.”
“You aren’t marrying Drake, are you?”
At that you couldn’t help but laugh, of coursed Damian would think something like that.
“No, of course not. Tim is just a really great uncle.”
“Why did you tell him? Why did you tell my mother?”
“None of them were supposed to know, actually. I ran into Tim and kind of trapped him into no telling anyone, in return I told him he could be around, that’s why he’s always going to New York, to make sure Nia is ok and doesn’t need anything. As for you mother, she just showed up on my apartament one day demanding to see her granddaughter. Ever since she kind of just stuck around or made sure there was always a League member near by to keep us safe.”
He nodded, his demeanor down. It was obvious he was disappointed with you being with someone else, he never thought about you moving on - deep down he always knew this could happen, he just didn’t want to believe in it. You are his everything, but he isn’t everything to you anymore.
Staying over at the manor was really weird for you, they had gotten you a crib and placed it on the room you were staying. Jason drove to New York to get some of yours and Nia's clothes only to find the place trashed, someone was really after you and the best plan of action was to the stay at the manor where you were both safe.
You just wished this whole enemy thing to go down as fast as possible so you can resume to your normal life. You couldn't stand looking at Damian trying to get Nia to warm to him anymore, every time you did it was like a constantly painful reminder of what you two couldn't have, and the engagement ring on your finger felt heavy until the day you stopped using it, having broke up with Carter over the phone and spending the night crying on Tim's shoulders for your ruined happiness.
When Damian showed up the following morning at your bedroom, he almost lost his temper. You were sleeping with your head on Tim's lap, he had his hand on your hair and Nia was sound asleep on the crib. He walked further into the room, feeling his heart sinking once he saw your tears streaked face. There was no need to be jealous, obviously he used to be the one to wipe away your tears and give you some comfort, but he was glad there was someone to give you that. He stopped once he noticed you weren't wearing the ring anymore. That was his chance.
"You can't go out there, you are being targeted!" Damian exclaimed, following you down the stairs
You looked at him over your shoulder, choosing to ignore him as you kept walking.
"Y/n, do not ignore me!"
"I have work to do, Damian. I got dragged all the way here, I am going to work at the office that's located in Gotham and you can't stop me. I still need a job so I can pay the bills."
He had to bite his tongue to not say what was really on his mind. Sparking a fight with you right now would do no good, it would only make you want to leave even more.
"I know you do, but can't you work from home?"
"No, I have a meeting and I'm already running late." You pulled a paper from your purse, handing it to him "Since Tim is out, you and the rest of the boys are on baby duty. This is everything you need to know about Nia's allergies, food preferences."
He nodded, defeated he couldn't get you to stay, but glad you were trusting him alone with your daughter.
"At least wear this, please." He pulled from his pocket a necklace with a small pendent "It will make me feel more at peace knowing you will call if you need me."
"Ok." You put on the necklace, the distress signal necklace "But I am not going to need to use it. Don't worry about me."
He smiled sadly at you. "It is kind of hard not to worry about you, y/n."
You should've known you would have to use the necklace, it was life being a bitch to you one more time.
Everything was as good as it could be, one moment you were discussing business and taxes, the next one of the executives had pulled out a gun and shot you two times in a row. How did this happen? Was the only thing you could think of as you lied on the floor, a pull of blood forming around you as you tried your best to apply pressure on your wounds.
"Hey, it is ok." Robin kneeled down beside you, taking in your almost limp form, tears in his eyes "It is ok, beloved, I've got you. You're going to be ok."
"Dami, I am so glad to see you." You tried to smile thought the pain "At least we will be able to say a proper goodbye this time since I am the one who's leaving."
He shook his head "Don't say this, beloved. I am still going to take you out on a second first date and get you back. There are still so many things for us to do together."
"Is... Is Nia ok? You will take care of her for me, won't you?" Your words was slurring out, he was running with you on his arms, yelling at people to get out of way as he reached the batmobile, pushing Nightwing away from the door
"We will take care of her together." He stated before barking at Batman "Drive faster!"
When you woke up, your whole body was sore and the lighting was too bright for your liking. You tried to sit up only to end up moaning in pain.
"Hey, hey, easy there." Damian showed up on your line of vision, gently pushing you back down "You are still recovering."
"What happened?" You closed your eyes briefly "Am I dead?"
He chuckled, pushing some hair away from your face.
"The enemy was dealt with. And no, you are not dead. Alfred managed to help you up, Nia is with Jason and everything is alright."
You nodded, smiling a little as he grabbed your hand. You squeezed it before allowing him to caress your fingers with his.
"I was so worried I was going to loose you, that I would never see your smile or hold your hand ever again." Damian sighted in defeat "I love you so much, y/n. Please, stay here. With me, we can work things out."
"I am not going anywhere, Dami. Not now and not ever."
He leaned down, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
"I promise you I will try my best, everyday, to be the best father and husband ever. For my two girls."
You hummed, content with him showing affection. Too lost in finally having his love back to think about the word husband. You would think about that later that week when he asked you the big question.
Lady light. (Part 1)
Tumblr media
So... Maybe there is already an AU like this one, please, say it to me if it is the case ! Or I might really think I actually had an idea all by myself... This story is writen after Ladybug but I might put some things from the others episodes, the diffusion order is killing me.
Warning : It's a Damian x Marinette au but it can alsi be a "Marinette doesn't need a man in her life because she's perfect" au base, Chloé will be redeemed.
Part 2, Part 3, Taglist
___________
Sabine couldn't stop thinking of the accident, about the girl and her habit to say stranges things. She couldn't stop thinking about her daugther who was expelled, of her faded smile and her sadness. She tought about it for hours and hours. Days and days. Everyday she thinks about it and feels anger growing slowly inside of her, but luckily for her, Tom is always by her side and try to find a way to make everybody happy again in his little family.
But after several days of intense reflection, they came to the best solution possible for their daughter. Maybe for some they were making a mistake, but they still wanted to do everything to ensure the happiness of Marinette. It was their duty as parents.
To make sure they were not doing anything stupid, however, they once invited Alya home while Marinette was at Nadja's house looking after her daughter to earn some pocket money. Like any child invited to a parent's house without knowing the reason, Alya was stoned, but she knew how much Marinette's parents were angels. (She was always shocked that a man like Tom Dupain was able to be akumatized.) After drinking her cup of hot chocolate and her croissant, which melted delicately in her mouth, she tried to focus on the adults. "Why did you want to see me?"
Sabine looked at Tom, hesitantly and took a deep breath. "You are a future journalist and Marinette's friend, can you tell us what is her relationship with this so-called Lila Rossi?"
Alya looked at them in turn, understanding finally the reason for her coming, the parents anxiety after the accident that had occurred a month earlier was easy to see. She didn't blame them for seeking explanations when everyone had already turned the page on this unfortunate misunderstanding and moved on.
"Marinette doesn't like Lila since ... Since her arrival. She doesn't stop treating her as a liar and manipulator. I must admit that I think it's because she's in love with Adrien and Lila is in love too." Alya drank her chocolate, not noticing the shock of the parents right away.
Their daughter ? Treat someone liar just because they are fighting for the same man? It wasn't the Marinette they had raised. Suddenly, they wondered where they had failed in hee education. Marinette used to hate lies in the past.
"So ... do you think she really steals her family necklace?"
"Marinette? Never ! She has already done some unthinkable things, but I don't think she did that. "
"So this Lila has set up a trap for my cupcake!" Tom stood up, growling with a more than angry look. The two women looked at each other, almost afraid to see an Akuma appear.
"M. Dupain, it's impossible. Lila is very sweet and an adorable girl. She would never hurt a fly ! But ... I know two other people who also love Adrien and can be responsible for all that. Two incredibly mean girls for nothing. A bit like Marinette with Lila at times ... "
Sabine couldn't believe her ears: people were ready to sabotage the whole schooling of a girl just because, at the age of fourteen, she loved a boy? A model moreover? Someone who, inevitably, attracted the attention of others? No. All this was not correct.
"Thank you Alya, have some macaroons and thank you, once again, for your time." Smiling as she accompanied Alya to the door, Sabine slowly lose her smile and put her future plan into action. It was hurting her to do that. But Marinette happiness was the only thing that matter.
___
When Marinette returned home that day, she thanked Heaven for giving Ladybug a day off because she couldn't have saved anyone because of her current condition. Exhausted, she immediately climbed into her room and didn't notice that her parents were not at the bakery. It was only once in her room that she jumped, seeing her mother sitting on her bed waiting for her.
"Mom ? What are you doing in my room?“
"I wanted to talk to you about Lila Rossi. “
Marinette turned pale and her eyes were filled with anger, fear and sadness.
Everything she hated to see in her daughter's eyes.
"Mom, I don't want to talk about it... "
Her mother nodded and got up from the bed, showing her a suitcase next to her. "Marinette, your father and I love you, that's why we want to fulfill our duty as parents at best by thinking about your future and your well-being, which sometimes means making choices that don't please everyone immediately to our child. "
Marinette stepped back, shaking her head as she tried to flee, she was slowly beginning to understand and it scared her. Where was she going? Somewhere in Paris at least, right? Outside, she could hear the noisy horn of a car and the shrill voice of Chloe Bourgeois, her eternal enemy. She ran to the window, wanting to be sure. At hee back, her mother continued to talk to her.
"Marinette Dupain Cheng, you are going to live in New York with Chloé Bourgeois and her mother to realize your dream of becoming a stylist!"
The teenager could hear happiness in her mother's voice as she was about to realize her dream. But what would she do with Ladybug? Alya? Adrien? And ... Going with Chloe? Really ? It was to sign her death warrant.
"But mom... I love Paris! Everything is fine here for me. And everyone is here ! You, dad, Alya, Adrien and... "
"And Lila Rossi? No. You may have only fourteen years old but you have a gift and New York can show your gift to the whole world. This is a big opportunity. "
"But Chloé is worse than Lila!" She remained silent for a moment. Chloe was sticky, annoying and she was doing everything to annoy her but ... Lila? No, clearly, Lila was worse. "I can become a stylist here mom!"
"Don't discuss my orders, pack your bags, your father has prepared your favorite meal as a farewell dinner ... We will come to visit you during the holidays and every night we will call each other."
Marinette wanted to cry. No, she was crying. She cried at the thought of being away from her parents, at the thought of being in an unknown and far too big city whose language she barely knew. She was crying to say goodbye to Alya, Adrien, Nino, Juleka, Rose, her new friend Kagami, she was crying to disappoint Master Fu.
"Before leaving ... can I say goodbye to my friends ...?"
At the table, Sabine was silent: it was hard for her to play the bad mother. And Tom? He was trying to keep smiling even if he was going to say goodbye to his daughter. Fortunately, the Bourgeois made the promise that she would have a bodyguard and that they would keep them informed of everything. He was a proud father of his daughter.
"Yes, my cupcake, you can go ... But at 7 pm you have to be at the airport for your departure." He gave a nervous little smile. "The Mayor told me that you have a first class ticket. First class ! Do you imagine the comfort?"
He was the only one who seemed happy about it.
Sabine watched her daughter as she left the table to see her friends without even eating her last family meal. She knew she was making the right choice and if it wasn't the right one... She was going to fly to New York to take her home if she had to. But the Parisian air was no longer made for Marinette. She deserved better and Sabine knew it.
----
"You go away ?" Alya's voice was shaking with anger.
"Alya ... I'm sorry, I just learned it right now, my mother made that decision without warning me before today!"
"Of course, your parents send you to New York the same day they decided it without telling anyone? You know what? Maybe Lila was saying, you're selfish!" She hung up.
Marinette knew that most of the words her best friend was saying were angry, but she couldn’t help but feel hurt. The student had always tried to please everyone, to make all her friends smile, then hear that she was selfish? It was almost too much for her.
"You're a big-hearted girl, Marinette, she's going to calm down and she's going to realize her words." Tikki tried her best to reassure her, knowing how sensitive Marinette is.
Marinette smiles, sticking her little girlfriend to her cheek to thank her for her sweetness in such a moment then she put Tikki back in her bag. Marinette inhaled and went to Master Fu's apartment.
For the others ? It was better that she was content to just write them a farewell letter, it was simpler, less painful.
"Master Fu?" Marinette muttered as she entered the miraculous guardian's apartment.
The old man smiled as he looked at her, but his smile vanished as he saw the sad look on Marinette's face, but also on Tikki's face. "Master Fu, Marinette is leaving for New York, she has no choice, her parents choose it for her..."
The guard didn’t know what to answer right away. But after a glass of tea, he put the horse’s glasses in the hands of the young woman. Marinette looked up at the old man with a lost face.
"Master ... But ..."
"You're the only person who can be the ladybug holder, I can’t replace you, I don’t want to replace you, so I'm sorry, but for now I have to rely on you to make the journey as soon as we need you here. I only trust you to fight Hawkmoth."
Tears rolled over Marinette's cheeks and she hugged him, taking advantage of that moment with him. Tikki was coming with her and that was something that reassured her in her situation.
Later in the evening, her father took the cards she had written for each of her acquaintances, even for Manon. She wanted everyone to know that she would miss Paris and that she wouldn’t forget them. She hugged her parents and went to the limousine to leave with Chloe and her parents. Neither Tom nor Sabine had the courage to accompany her to the airport without reconsidering their decision.
"So ... We're going to New York ..." Marinette tried to engage in a conversation with Chloe, smiling as hard as she could in her situation.
"It's ridiculous, utterly ridiculous, sharing an apartment with you ? Ridiculous!" She grunted, folding her arms and looking down at her. "Don’t you know ? My mother can’t come with us, so we're going to Gotham, I'm going into a dance school and modeling and you ... you're gonna try to survive before you come back here crying for your mama!"
"But ... who will take care of us, if your mother doesn’t come?"
"An adult will live with us and we will have bodyguards to avoid having problems." Seeing Marinette's growing fear, she smiled. "You can always back off."
"If only I had a choice."
Happiest Years (Oikawa Tooru x Fem! Reader) ***********************
Y/n's P.O.V
"My wife. My beautiful, wonderful, extraordinary, wonderful, amazing, wife. I love you so much. I've never believed that anyone can be more perfect than me, yet here you are. On the bed, asleep with our beautiful 13 year-old daughter in your arms. Your soft little snores are so adorable. Your laugh, your smile, your eyes. Oh, those wonderful eyes. Those eyes I fell with all those years ago. When we met at the optometrist, summer of my last year in middle school. You were getting new contacts and I was getting glasses because I wanted to look cool and cute. When I saw those e/c that day, I knew that that was my new favorite thing to see. Your soft hair. How amazing it smells every time. Whenever you leave for work and I stay at home, I always smell the pillow you laid your head on because I miss your scent so much. That might be weird and I'm sorry but your shampoo honestly has the best smell. I love your smell. I love how your hands fit perfectly with mine. Our height difference is just perfect. I remember how you wouldn't give me your phone number when I asked for it. Instead, you gave me your address. I was so confused that day. Then you said, 'I wanna do it like the old days. No phone calls, no sending photos, no texts. If you really like me, then you're willing to write everyday. If not everyday at least once a week.' I thought 'Wow. She is the most interesting girl I've ever met. I think I'm in love'...Iwa-chan immediately liked you because you were not like the other girls that were chasing me. In fact, it was the opposite. I was the one chasing you.
Even when we weren't dating yet, you always supported me. In volleyball, school, even life itself. Everything. You didn't even like me back. I thought that my family or Iwa-chan or Makki or even Mattsun...I thought that they were the only important people in my life. If they're there, I'll be fine but I was wrong. I now realize that you are the one I needed. You always made my day just by breathing. I don't know where I would be without you.
I love how you would have random dance parties in the kitchen every morning. I love the way you laugh. I love your eyes. I could stare at them for hours and would not get bored of it. I love the way you hug me. You would wrap your hands around my sides and just tell me that I'm lucky to have you as my girlfriend. You're not wrong. I love it when we cuddle. I love it when you smile. I love it when you would watch alien documentaries with me. I love how you sing in the kitchen every morning. You're not the best at it but you never cared. Even my own parents loves you more than me. That's just how amazing you are.
We have our downs in the relationship, of course. The number one being, you, rejecting me when I asked you to marry me. I understand though. We just started college and we were young. Number two, you rejected me again when I asked. That one, I didn't understand because we had been dating for eight years and we lived together. But you just weren't ready yet. I was so attached to you, it almost felt toxic to be around you. I felt like, I can't breathe without you on my side. I can't eat, sleep, play, focus. You were like a medicine that I need to have everyday or else I will die. So, you rejecting me twice, really hurt me. Number three, this was probably the worst thing I have ever done to you...I...cheated on you. I know, I know it was a shitty thing to do and I'm not going to make an excuse for it. I'm going to own it.
We broke up.
Three years later, we got back together. When I asked you to marry me again, you finally said yes. That was the happiest day of my life. Words couldn't express my love for you. So, instead, I used action. *wink wink*
Ok, topic change. That was too much information. I'm sorry.
Birthdays were always the best when you're around. You would give me the most ridiculous gifts. I don't even know where you find them. Two years ago, you got me Rudolph plushie with Tobio-chan's head and an album of apples. Why? Till this day, I have no idea. But I love all of it. If it comes from you, then I'm happy with it.
If you're reading this, then it's our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Happy anniversary, Y/n. My lovely, Y/n. My queen. My everything.
This is a love letter, yes. Not a goodbye letter. And if you're reading this, then I'm probably gone.
My alzheimer might be getting worse.  So, the Oikawa Tooru you loved is probably gone. I'm writing the things I remember before all my memories go away. If you ever feel sad, or whenever present me is being mean to you, read this letter to cheer you up. I know it's not much but it's the most sentimental thing I could think of. I also thought it would be romantic since this is how we fell in love. Writing letters to each other for three years. My whole high school years were dedicated to you.
I will always love you, Oikawa Y/n
Never ever ever forget it. Unlike me, I've probably forgotten who you are. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to.
I hope you stay happy. I hope you keep loving me if I'm ever a dick to you. I love you so so so so so so so much!!! Kisses!!! Hugs!!! I love you!! Words can't express what those three words are to me. But I have to let you know, let you remember, that I love you!
Thank you for accepting me. Thank you for dealing with my weirdness. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for the happiest years of my life. Thank you for the craziest rollercoaster I've ever been on. It's definitely my favorite one. Thank you for everything. Thank you for the years you've helped me through every damn thing life threw at me. Even if I'm gone, this letter will always be here. I will always be with you. This is proof that I actually loved someone else other than volleyball and myself. If you ever miss me, re-read this. Re-watch the videos that we've made. Say hi to Iwa-chan for me. I said it once and I'll say it more. I will always be here and I will always love you like how you loved me.
-From your perfect, flat husband, Oikawa Tooru❤️❤️"
Tumblr media
"This was the last letter your husband  gave you." A young lady told me. She was crying for some reason.
"Hey, why are you crying?" I asked as I wipe her tears. "And what husband? I don't have a husband."
"You have a husband. His name is Oikawa Tooru. He was a volleyball player. The best setter and volleyball player ever. He didn't got to Shiratorizawa and he never went to nationals but that doesn't prove anything. He was still the best." She chuckled while wiping her tears away.
"Where is he now? I'd like to meet him. I must've scored a good one." I smiled.
"Oh, he's not here anymore. He died eight years ago."
"Oh, I'm sorry." Was what I could say. I don't really remember why I'm apologizing. "I  don't want to sound weird but you are very beautiful. I feel like I've seen you before." I say observing her. "What are your parent's names? Have I met them before?"
"My name is Oikawa Yua. You've met my parents. My father is Oikawa Tooru and my mother is Oikawa Y/n. They are both blessed with extreme beauty and strength." She smiled through her tears. "The best parents ever..."
"Oh, they must be wonderful parents. But I'm sorry. I don't think I've met them before. Their names don't ring a bell." I gave her another sympathetic smile. She didn't answer me. Instead she bursted into tears and kept calling me 'mom'. She looked really sad that, I too, started to cry...
Part 3: Jane Seymour
How are you today? Me? I’m okay. This took me longer because, not only was I out of ideas and not sure which queen should come next, but I also have a lot of work from school (online school sucks). Sorry this took so long.
Cat and Anne didn’t talk to each other, seeming to through each other glares as they walked back to Cat’s house. It made Cathy feel awkward and she just wished the two would drop it at least until they found the others. Luckily, the younger girls didn’t seem to notice this, as they talked about whatever little girls talked about in this century.
Once they reached the house, Cat started preparing tea and Anne used a machine to make something that looked like tea but was obviously not.
“What’s that?” Cathy asked, looking from the living room which was attached to the kitchen.
“It’s coffea. It’s really good to get your energy up.” she said, filling a mug with the brown liquid. “I don’t really like tea, no offence Catherine.” Anne said, looking at Cat, before taking a sip of her drink and coming into the living room, sitting next to Cathy. Cat soon came as well with two cups of tea, giving one to Cathy. She sat down next to Cathy, leaving Cathy between the other two queens.
“So, how do you plan on finding the others?” Cat asked, looking at Cathy.
“Honestly, i don’t know. Up until now, it’s just been good luck.” Cathy said, looking into her cup. “I didn’t really plan for it to be this easy.”
“Maybe we just need to continue playing it lucky.” Anne said with a smile on her face.
“We need a plan, Anne. We can’t just wait around until they all show up!” Cat said, getting up from her seat and placing her tea cup down.
“Catherine, I was just joking-” Anne started before she was interrupted by Cathy.
“You know what? We’ll figure it out tomorrow. For now, I think we should all just go home and rest.” Cathy said, getting up and placing her unfinished tea cup in the kitchen. Anne opened her mouth to say something, but quickly stopped. Cathy picked up Mae, who was playing on the carpet by herself, and walked to the door. “See you tomorrow! Goodbye!” she said, before leaving the house completely.
                                                                          ----------------------------------------
Once Cathy got home, she put her tired daughter to bed.
“We’ve had a long day today, haven’t we?” she said, placing Mae in her bed. “I hope you had fun.” she said as Mae’s eyes slowly closed and she fell asleep. Once Mae was asleep, Cathy walked into her bedroom and picked up her pen and paper. She wanted to write, but couldn’t concentrate. The events of today kept going through her head as she thought how to find the other queens. Up until now it had just been good luck. It was luck that she had run into Cat, it was luck that Mary befriended Elly, it was luck that Anne even happened to be at the playground at the very same time. It was all just pure luck.
A few hours later, Cathy was still trying to write when she heard a cry. She ran to Mae bedroom but found that it wasn’t Mae crying. Mae was sleeping peacefully. Then she realized it was the neighbour’s baby. About a week or two ago, a lady and her baby moved in the apartment next to her. The lady’s baby was way noisier than Mae, so Cathy oten found herself being woken up by crying. Of course, she never got mad at the lady, she couldn’t control when her baby started crying. So, Cathy went back to her room and picked up her pen again. But then, a few minutes later, she heard a knock on the front door. Cathy slowly walked to the door, all the sudden feeling very tired. On the other side was a woman with long blonde hair and grey blue eyes. The lady next door.
“Excuse me, I don't mean to bother you, but I heard you had a baby and I wanted to ask if you had any more diapers I could borrow.” she said, fidgeting with her hands. “I’ve run out.” she added.
“Oh sure, you can come in and take some, if you want.” Cathy said, opening the front door entirely and letting the lady walk in. The lady walked in, looking uncomfortable. It’s not everyday a stranger just lets you into their house. “They’re in my daughter’s room. Please be quiet, she’s sleeping.” Cathy said, pointing the lady to Mae’s room.
“Thank you.” the lady whispered as she walked quickly to Mae’s room. When she came out, holding a few diapers, she seemed to have a little smile on her face. “Your daughter is so cute.” she said. “She looks kind of like you.” she also added.
“Do you need any more help? Cause i can-” Cathy tried to say before the lady interrupted her.
“Oh no, I don't want to bother you anymore than I already have! Besides, i have to get back to my son.” she said, walking through the doorway. “But i would like to see you again someday. Maybe your daughter and my Edward could have a little playdate!” she added, walking with excitement.
“Yeah, maybe. I think Mae would like a playmate.” Cathy said, already thinking about it. The other lady gave a small laugh before walking off.
“Have a good night!” the lady said.
“You too!” Cathy said in response. As soon as Cathy closed the door, she went back to her room, but didn’t pick up her pen. She just laid down on her bed, thinking. How could she find the other queens, where should she look next. She thought for so long, she didn’t even notice she was falling asleep until she did.
                                         --------------------------------------
The next morning, Cathy woke up to her daughter jumping on her bed.
“Mama! Mama! Mama!” she called over and over again. Cathy slowly got up, smiling at her daughter.
“I’m up, baby! I’m up.” she said. “You can calm down.” she added as Mae stopped jumping on her bed. For the past month, the only thing Mae has ever said was mama, and Cathy found it sweet. “Are you hungry?” Cathy said, to which Mae nodded excitedly. She picked up her daughter and walked to the kitchen, placing Mae at one of the chairs at the table with pillows to raise her up. “Do you want pancakes?” Cathy asked. Mae nodded with a wide smile on her face. “Pancakes it is, then!” After Cathy made the pancakes and served her daughter, she heard a knock on the door. She wondered who that could be. She hadn’t told Cat or Anne where she lived, so it must be one of the neighbours. Maybe it was that nice lady from last night, she seemed like the type who would visit during breakfast just to have a nice chat. But the knock seemed to light to be the lady from last night, so it was probably someone else. Whatever Cathy was expecting, it was definitely not a two year old boy holding a light blue blanket, with frizzy blonde and grey blue eyes. He kind of looked like a smaller boy version of the lady. Maybe this was her son, but why was he here?
“Um, hello there, little guy!” she said, crouching down to his level. “Where’s your mum?” she asked, even though she doubted that he would answer. But he did.
“Mama still sleeping. She very tired.” he said, his voice almost a whisper.
“Well, i think you should go back to her. You shouldn’t just leave the house like that.” she said, hoping to make the boy go home. But then again, he was two, so she would probably have to take him there. She wouldn’t just let him walk all alone. But just as the little boy was about to respond, his mother came, full of worry.
“Eddy! I told you not to just leave the house like that.” she said, picking him up. “God, i should really start locking the door if you’re going to keep running off like this!”
“Sorry mama.” he said, looking at the ground.
“Well, it’s okay. As long as you don’t do it again.” she said as the boy nodded, promising to not do it again. “Hey! Sorry about Eddy. He’s started walking recently.” the lady said, turning to look at Cathy. Cathy just giggled.
“It’s quite alright. No harm done.” she said. “Hey, if you want, you can stay for breakfast, since you’re already here. Besides, I would like to get to know you better.”
“Sure, as long as we’re not intruding.” the lady said, holding her son. The lady slowly entered and got a bit more comfortable when she saw that she wasn’t intruding. She was also happy to see how excited Eddy got when he saw Mae sitting at the table. He started talking to her, but it was clear Mae couldn’t talk yet.
“I’ll make some more pancakes.” Cathy said. “By the way, my name is Catherine. But call me Cathy.” she said, remembering the lady didn’t know her name.
“Oh, i’m Jane. Jane Seymour.” the lady, Jane, said. Cathy froze. Henry VIII’s third wife. The one he “truly loved”. Again, just how lucky did Cathy get.
“Hey, can i ask you a weird question?” Cathy said, trying to sound as casual as possible.
“Sure! Ask away.” Jane said, a small smile on her face.
“Do you happen to be reincarnated?” she said, hoping she didn’t sound stupid.
“Can i give you a weird answer?” Jane asked, and Cathy nodded. “Yes, I am. Are you one too?” she asked excitedly.
“Yes. I’m Catherine Parr. The sixth wife of Henry VIII. I’m looking for the other queens.”
“And who have you found so far?” Jane asked, seeming interested in the whole ordeal.
“Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn and you.” Cathy answered, making the list in her head.
“Oh, Anne Boleyn. I haven’t seen her in a while. I hope she doesn’t hate me.” Jane said, looking at the ground.
“Mama, are you okay? You seem sad.” Eddy said, reminding the two queens that him and Mae were in the room.
“I’m fine, sweetie. Don’t worry about mama.” Jane said, petting Eddy’s head.
“Don’t worry, i’m sure Anne won’t be mad.” Cathy said, comforting Jane. “Speaking of which, I should tell her and Cat about it. We’ll go to Cat’s house later, okay?” she said and Jane nodded in response before actually saying:
“Okay.”
