Some Magic cards I saw in a dream
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#Kron's mana being split weird is something I even noticed in the dream#and I think it was explained as the second three black mana symbols not being able to be reduced by the ability?#I considered changing the ability phrasing to be more like Delve#but the way it's now is more accurate to the dream#and yes the fact you're not able to reduce the last three black mana wasn't mentioned on the card#you're just expected to know this#one thing I didn't remember are the names#I made all those up on the spot#I did remember the Land was a City of some kind#and with the other two I named them based off the creature types and abilities I remembered#I think Kron's first ability was keyworded#but it must've been a flavor keyword or something because the ability was still explained roughly like here#oh dang it I'm pretty sure Lilypad Scout was an uncommon#that's like the one of these three cards where I remember the rarity for sure lol#Kron I'm like 70% sure was mythic and the city I'm not sure if it was mythic or rare#or if they even had a rarity. decent chance my dream could've just let them out completely lol#now that I think of it I'm pretty sure my dream was just inconsistent on if Kron had flavor text or not#sometimes it was there and sometimes not#same goes for the city#the Frog is the only one that had a flavor text consistently#pretty sure for that card my brain just fused the Bassara Tower Archer with the Bloomburrow Frogs#I'm also like 90% sure the City had some third ability but I have no idea what it was#custom cards#I guess#custom cards misc

I can’t believe you got me into brokerdoll smh another ridiculously obscure hazbin hotel sapphic ship …….. I never considered them as a ship but they’re really cute 😔 dya have any headcanons for them? I imagine the other vees would tear vel a new one if they found out
BAHAHAAH UR WELCOME :3 its so cute actually . i thought of them late at night one day and went IM A GENIUS and scoured the internet but twas NOTHING
anyway !! do i have hcs? kind of ?? (half of these i came up with on the spot sorry if my phrasing sucks or if The Hcs suck)
i like to imagine brokerdoll started as velvette having an obsession with carmilla like vox has with alastor or val has with angel
(val and vox saw the signs immediately)
it eventually just delved into velvette asking vox to show her cameras on where carmilla is because she just "needed to know"
probably started shittalking her 10x more online after that
i dont have much for carmilla's side of the initial enemies-to-lovers but i can imagine her daughters see it very fucking clearly
they know their mother
anyway!! actual ship stuff
they keep this secret from EVERYBODY (including carmilla's daughters, including voxval) because it'd just be so fucking shocking if it got out
(as much as velvette wants to post about carmilla online she will refrain as best she can)
vox getting into the vees penthouse(?) super late at night and seeing velvette laying on carmilla on the couch passed tf out with some stupid tv show playing that they were probably shittalking
(he did get screenshots for blackmail)
also ill be so fr val probably knew the day they started dating BAHAHAH
hes not smart but like, i can imagine he saw the signs. he works with people in porn and there have probably been points his actors have (tried to) start dating so he probably knows that sort of stuff at least a little bit
velvette steals carmilla's hair bands i rest my case
she probably steals her shirts too honestly
carmilla loves styling velvette's hair, especially when velvette is going out somewhere
she'll have some idea for the style she wants and carmilla will execute it perfectly
carmilla won't admit how good it feels seeing velvette post 50 times in one night and, even though she's getting progressively fucked up, her hair still manages to stay perfect
(velvette doesn't wanna mess up her gf's hard work)
I'M SET ON THE IDEA BTW THAT CARMILLA IS A ROMANTIC
brings velvette flowers, maybe chocolates, just because she can
(velvette always yells at her and freaks out when she does because she's just not used to that kind of affection. she knows attention well, but not when it's this loving)
velvette having like, a voxblr blog set specifically to ramble about carmilla and no one has discovered her because it's completely anonymous and she changes up her typing patterns for it and everything
also they can both cook i think. really well
once voxval find out about them, velvette manages somehow to convince carmilla to come over and cook with her
(voxval are pure amazement that they work so well. both as a relationship and in their ability to make the best tasting food fucking EVER)

Hello! I would love a rogue pairing, this is the sweetest thing.
I'm a non-binary neurodivergent demi/pan goblin with chronic pain, ADHD and The Big Sad (medical terminology). I love clever plots and sharp turns of phrase, devious tricks and intense loyalty. A bit of a chameleon in the bedroom, I like to fill a role that suits my partner, when I'm not busy being in the Ace Space.
Currently I am dad to two hellion cats (Cryptid and Azazel) and my free time around work and catcare is split between indie horror video games, drawing, and various crafts that keep my hands busy. I have "good hair" which I am prone to dyeing myself for a laugh, and can frequently be sighted emerging from my room to troll someone, then cackling madly and returning from whence I came. My two modes are choosing chaos or not wanting to move.
I once tripped over on the footpath and completely destroyed my knee for genuinely no reason. I consider this one of my crowning achievements along with that one post about giving the riddler a kitten.
Xx
🎀 No.9: Ever Fallen In Love With Someone 🎀
tell me a little bit about yourself and i'll give you a rogue pairing a/n: ok wait omg i don't write for him but that doesn't mean i can't pair and this was just SCREAMING his name to me omg 💚 1k milestone info! 🔞minors dni🔞 • kofi • tag: finnie1k
Tumblr media
ok so first of all, the non-binary and pan combo, very VERY basil. definitely a he/they/she in order of preference, really fluid with his gender actually, but yeah pan for pan love all over
i think it's important for a partner to be able to understand you, and while obviously his chronic pain isn't similar to yours, he is in pain a lot, so there would be so much comfort and recognition there for you both
same with The Big Sad™, he's had his dreams shattered, his reality shattered, and his sense of self is tenuous at the most, so those feelings are shared
he's an actor, and he's naturally very witty, familiar with good writing, so clever plots are a given, and he'll be more than happy to offer you a little monologue if you're in the mood for entertainment
trickery, pleasant or otherwise, comes naturally to him. boy shapeshifts, it's just part of the parcel
but loyalty, to a partner specifically not necessarily to a studio or a director, would be important to him. someone to ground him, to keep him from losing more of himself, or from becoming too bigheaded should he ever achieve his dreams
this is the bit that got me, the chameleon in the bedroom. the adaptability? pure basil. he can do that too. so your love life will be *chef's kiss*
side note: excellent cat names, how wonderful ;-;
horror video games, his potential beloved. i feel like he's probably never delved into video games much, but he's a horror boy through and through, obviously, so especially indie games, where the plot and the atmosphere is more important than the graphics or often the gameplay, that would be really compelling and he'd get all sweet and soft if you wanted to show him your favourites
hey you can go into the bathroom and come out a different person by changing your hair colour! he can go into the bathroom and come out a different person... completely!
i have a tendency to... trivialise the brutality of the rogues, it's because i want to hold them all in my arms, but basil definitely is just a mischievous guy? like what else would he really be using his shapeshifting abilities for other than trolling and jokes and playing tricks and just being a little silly, goofy fella?
also he's a lump of clay. moveable, but still sloppy. so yeah, chaos or nothing? very him. hopefully you guys feel the same way at the same time though...
further side note: giving the riddler a cat? the best >:(

Blog Entry #1
In a world dominated by Super Mario films and sexless Marvel series, it is intriguing to contemplate a return to 1987 when the highest-grossing film was a psychosexual thriller called Fatal Attraction. Adrian Lyne crafted the original film, which achieved tremendous commercial success and critical accolades. Paramount Plus recreates a similar triumph with a smaller adaptation featuring a phenomenal cast. I delve into the generational aspects surrounding the adaptation of Fatal Attraction, further exploring the cultural anxieties, shifting perspectives, and enduring stereotypes that mold our understanding of contemporary relationships.
The original Fatal Attraction film tapped into the cultural anxieties, particularly regarding sex and feminism within the context of the 1980s. With creeping neoliberal reforms, Reagan-era policies, the AIDS crisis, a backlash against second-wave feminism brewed. The film resonated with audiences by capitalizing on the fear that sex was dangerous and professional women posed a threat to the traditional nuclear American family. However, the film's reception varied significantly, with some perceiving it as feminist while others viewed it as staunchly anti-feminist. This disparity of interpretations conveys the film's ability to provoke diverse readings and fuel compelling debates.
Class exercise: Alternate Endings
Now, let's engage in an exercise to explore alternate endings for Fatal Attraction and reflect on the generational perspectives that may influence our choices.
Instructions:
Imagine you have the opportunity to rewrite the ending of Fatal Attraction to align with your personal values and contemporary attitudes. Consider the cultural context, evolving gender dynamics, and the need for a satisfying resolution. What would your ending look like?
Write a brief paragraph outlining your revised ending. Describe how it challenges or subverts traditional stereotypes, promotes empathy, or offers a more nuanced understanding of the characters' motivations.
Share your alternate ending with a peer or group discussions. Compare and contrast varying perspectives and consider how generational factors may shape such diverse interpretations.
This exercise seeks to foster creativity and explore the changing societal landscape. Embrace the opportunity to challenge traditional narratives and envision more inclusive and nuanced representations of relationships.
The Birth of a Toxic Phrase Fatal Attraction's enduring legacy includes the entry of the term "bunny boiler". The popular lexicon perpetuates a harmful stereotype and victim-blaming narrative. This phrase describes a woman who is emotionally unstable, obsessive, and vengeful towards her partners (Latif 2023) Unfortunately, it has become ingrained in dating culture and further reinforces regressive beliefs and casting women as mentally feeble while absolving men of accountability. Recognizing the pernicious effects of such stereotypes is critical in fostering healthier, just, and equitable relationships.
As we embark on a new adaptation of Fatal Attraction, it is essential to analyze the generational aspects at work. By exploring the cultural anxieties, conflicting interpretations, and perpetuated stereotypes, we collect insight into the shifting dynamics of contemporary relationships. The exercise offers a chance to challenge and deliberate on traditional narratives while envisioning alternative endings that reflect our evolving values and understandings. As the landscape of storytelling continues to evolve, let us strive for narratives that are inclusive, empathetic, and empowering, paving the way for a more nuanced and equitable portrayal of love and connection.
And lastly from Glen Close herself -

Thats probably something people ask all the time, but how necessary would you say it is to actually start a legit note taking grimoire before you start getting into witchcraft? I have been on and off on witchcraft since my teens basically and honestly it doesn't really ever feel like I am actually... Practicing....anything whenever I do it and I actually thought that "Hey maybe writing would help" , but at the same time imagining myself sitting down and writing it down like a schoolbook also already feels....not quite right for reasons I can't explain (I guess it's partly because my thoughts are always very disjointed and note taking basically devolved into writing things over and over again until I didn't need the notes anymore in school so....yeah)
Also if you have any advice on how to approach all of this withouth already feeling like you are not gonna accomplish anything.....would be great, yeah. I am sorry this got so negative at the end but I genuinly feel like I myself am just fooling myself with all of this, not because it's not real but because the problem is me and.... Yeah not a great vibe.
Hello sweets! First, thank you for feeling comfortable enough to ask me of all people about this!!!
This is question I really have to take the time to answer because different things work for different people.
Some people will say you need to accomplish years of studying like school before you cast your first spell. I'm not in that party but I do see merit in that belief. Witchcraft can be VERY dangerous, so it's important to get all of the basics down and mastered before you really delve into it.
Personally I believe you can only master your craft by actually practicing it. It may seem boring, but early on in your craft you should be repeating the same basic skills until you have them near perfect. But I don't think you should ONLY be practicing basics. Sometimes there isn't a need for the basics to be practiced constantly. But they're the basics for a reason. You should be able to slowly branch out from the basics as you get more comfortable in your craft and your abilities.
I do think it is important to RECORD your practice in any way you are comfortable with. If it's writing, more power to you. But you can also video record, audio record, and even collage (with appropriate notations). But I believe witchcraft is closer to science than people assume, so I find it important to be able to repeat your spells/rituals/etc. with necessary modifications to achieve your desired results. You cannot grow in your craft without changing what doesn't work, and even what works but is too costly (be it time, materials, or even energy).
Now onto the topic of study itself. It takes a lot of time and trials to find out what study method truly works for you. It sucks but think back to your schooling days, and ponder what kind of learning method best suits you. Are you better at learning by sitting and reading through sources, and writing information down? Then do exactly that. Are you better at learning through visual shows and being orally walked through the steps? Head on down to YouTube and find some witchy YouTubers to learn from.
Once you've got that down, consider how you best retain that information. Is it better for you to sit down and copy lines? Is it better to actively practice what you learn? Is it better to "teach" others? You can record yourself "teaching others" to help you better retain and recall the information you've learned.
If you really feel you must write down the information you've learned, then I don't really recommend just writing down pages and pages of lines of notes. There's a variety of methods that could make the information more digestible and even fun to interact with and refresh if necessary.
One of the reasons you see so many grimoires filled with pictures and diagrams and interactive parts is that it makes relearning and refreshing that information more fun, do you're more likely to do just that. Use diagrams and pictures to help fill your pages and make the information stick a little better. You could even reduce your words even more by creating a picture heavy grimoire with just necessary words to help understand a little easier. Think of this. You have a Potion you want to make. Draw or print out pictures of the ingredients and insert them in your grimoire, with labels to identify what is harder to identify. If there's a specific order in which these items must be added, or a set of steps for a ritual that must be followed while making the Potion, draw or print out pictures of these steps and insert them in the correct order and perhaps draw arrows indicating order, or even write down the numbered order of steps.
If that's not really your style, then consider mind mapping. There's a variety of mind mapping methods you can use, but for me I typically write a word or phrase indicating the main topic of something I'm studying and put that in the middle of my page and circle it. From that circle, branch out into smaller circles with topics directly related to the initial phrase. And from those smaller circles, branch out even smaller to flesh out the idea of the initial phrase further. Here's a cute visual to explain a little better:
Tumblr media
Witchcraft is a lot of trial and error. Try and try again to find out what method works best for you. It may seem like you are accomplishing nothing in this time where you are trying to find your suited method, but keep in mind each failure is a step closer to finding what works best for you.
I really hope this helped!!! If anybody has some further input, please share 💖

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
Tumblr media
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
My muse is:   canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO / 50/50 (people either adore or hate them)
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / 50 /50 ( again it is either adoring or hating)
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO
Are they underrated?  YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO /
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO.
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.
How strictly do you follow canon?  I take canon in to consideration and incorporate it mostly. If there was something sloppily handled by canon, I either veto it or try spin it in another direction to make more sense. There was some fantastic writing in Naruto/Boruto and there was some very lazy half-assed writing. I adhere to canon up until a point.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  They are one of the most versatile and unique characters to ever grace the stage. There is nothing predictable about them other than their unpredictability. Through out the show, they have managed to remain this perfect ethereal paradox and enigma. Everything they do is a combination of being on both sides while also walking the line in the middle. You can not deem them merely ‘bad/evil’, you can not deem them merely ‘good/heroic’. You can not deny the way they are akin to an all knowing deity, but you can see the clear humanness in them too. Even the minor stuff, they will be wearing the most traditional kimono you have ever seen while tapping away at the most modern technologies the world hasn’t even invented yet. They can be the daintiest and most regal looking person, then shift in to the most fearsome monster. Let’s not even get started on their gender freedoms. They play all sides at their leisure and they do it well. They embrace every aspect of the world with this undying curiosity. They are so strictly ‘themself’ and untouched by any world/social standard, they just do not conform. Greatness and madness have never been harder to tell a part as it is with Orochimaru. They are complex in a manner that is so captivating, so very set on constructing pillars of individualism. And this is simply speaking on one aspect of their very intricate personality. It is not even touching on the feats they have made, as a shinobi, person, parent and scientist. Nor the unspoken story that is looked over, the abilities they possess, the fact that they have a hand in absolutely everything, and have formed part of nearly every group. Nor does it speak upon their ambitions and just how interesting those were to begin with.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  — The main and most obvious point of conflict is their crimes. Their freedoms can dabble in places that should come with clear lines and boundaries. So while it is a marvel to watch when their inquisitiveness and innocent decisions take form so wonderfully together, it is a horror show to see that inquisitiveness and maleficent combination rise up instead. A prime example being their human experimentation. They have committed countless atrocities that overstep the mere boundaries of shinobi warfare. While they may think killing in the name of science should be more excusable than killing in the pursuit of pointless war, they do manage to step on everyones toes by conducting their research on human beings. In the exact same fashion as the wars they fought in, they do not discriminate on who they kill/use by age either. That is highlighted the most by people who dislike them in the fandom, with ‘corrupting’ Sasuke as a close second.
What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  Orochimaru themself was the only inspiration. Everything about their character was appealing to me. I enjoy someone as versatile as them, and someone who challenges the worlds views. They are not always correct, and they can sometimes be too extreme, but they are truly fascinating to me. Often raising questions that need to be raised and setting the stage of some very unique interactions. They are truly fun to play around with from psychology, to abilities to personality.
What keeps your inspiration going?  —  It’s still Oro being interesting to me, and a healthy combination of muns on here that bring out their characters with equal enthusiasm. Being able to meet wonderful people who delve in to their characters and bring out all the details from big to small really keeps the rp alive.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO.
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO.
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO.
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day?  YES / NO.
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO.
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO.
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / 50/50 /NO.
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  — Yes, I do. But only from those I feel have an understanding of the character too, and for so long as it is a valid critique and not one based on the other person wanting Oro to be a certain way. I live for the discussions about my muse, positive or negative feedback is most welcome. I want to do better, I want to write better, I want to ensure what is in my head is being reflected on to the page. However in this fandom there is a trend where people forget portrayals are unique and that is what makes it enjoyable. I won’t take criticism to heart if I can tell the other person is only trying to ‘change’ how I play my muse to better suit the needs of their muse. That happens frequently sadly. But valid, insightful, wise corrections? I appreciate those a great deal. It is still someone taking the time to view my work and evaluate it. I am not sensitive to criticism.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —  Oh yes please. I adore those questions. It really helps to explore my muse more and add to my headcanons and understanding of them. It is loved on this blog.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  Sure! I accept readily if someone does not agree with my headcanon. We all have different takes. For so long as my views are still respected, I am happy to hear out why someone else is not favoring mine. In fact, it can help to continue to grow my muse and develop them further. To adjust the headcanon perhaps should it have been presented in a way I did not intend.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  simply put, we should not follow one another. There is nothing upsetting about someone not fancying my take on a character. It would be futile to remain mutuals or interact, since I am not changing my portrayal for someone elses preference, but there would be no bad blood.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  I just use the blacklist button liberally to be honest. Sadly, the hate Oro is often subject to is childish at best. It reflects no understanding, and drops them in the villain trash pile. I do not have much care for senseless hate of any character if I am honest. Mine or those who I do not rp.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  — Be my guest haha, Language has never been my forte in general. So I assume there are so many mix ups. More so than just grammar, I have this horrible habit of mixing words and phrases. My brain just hates computing stuff sometimes.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  I do not know if I am easy going, I have some hard lines I will not tolerate people crossing. I try to be easy going, and to keep myself in check however. I prefer to keep conflict to a minimum, so I will speak my piece in the most diplomatic manner possible. That said, I will speak my piece. I have never been the best at keeping my mouth shut if I feel wronged, or if I feel something may be headed down an undesired road. I will say what I feel needs to be said. I will however, ensure I am being fair, rational and objective to the best of my ability with any topic. I just want to know that there is common and mutual respect. If there isn’t, I will politely excuse myself from that narrative. There isn’t a great deal that can ruffle my feathers, I am naturally quite relaxed. But I am inclined to voice my opinion as diplomatically as possible if I am caught up in something I feel is unjust.
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

[link] Tbh the discourse around the term "fujoshi" is just motivated by shaming women for their interests and sexuality, and specifically trying to seem woke by taking Japanese fan girls down a peg.
Yalls need to stop with that orientalism and colonizer attitudes.
[link] Ok so, One of the biggest differences of how I see Japanese people digesting media and how Americans digest media is the ability to separate oneself from the topic.
Japanese people are used to living with duality. The culture of Japan is all about honne and tatemae, and while a lot of Americans think of tatemae as situational lying, it's a specific form of communication that adds a buffer of space between people. Sometimes that buffer is helpful and sometimes it isn't but that's not what we're discussing today.
In the same vein, Japanese fans consume media with that buffer space, and you see the difference in fandom spaces very keenly. For example, Japanese cosplayers don't tend to roleplay. I feel like the community discourages it, especially in public spaces because the idea is that you are not acting as a character or placing yourself in the character, you are borrowing a character to temporarily express yourself. In america you see encouragement of becoming the character and more closely associating with them in a way you don't really see in Japan. With cosplay, a lot of original outfits with characters isn't as widely accepted, and people are encouraged to add warning tags to heavily modified designs or non-cannon outfits. There's often a buffer between self expression and character expression, and Japanese people in general tend to have a clearer cut between fiction and reality. Americans go the opposite direction, and put themselves personally in to their fandoms. Any criticism or portrayal of a character isn't about the character, it's about *them*.
Bl for many fujyoshi is a way to explore various topics about sex and gender, and have that safety barrier of "this is fiction that has nothing to do with reality". Theres even a famous phrase in bl circles of Japan, which is "BL is fantasy." People arent consuming bl content because they want to it be realistic. With this genre, a lot of American's first exposure to this culture is through groups that carry these Japanese ideas, especially that fiction is not about reality. There's a strong culture in fujyo circles in Japan to keep fujyo media hidden from from minors and uninterested people.
This isn't because gay adjacent media is shameful and should be hidden, but because aside from keeping 18+ content away from minors, the content is inherently not for the benefit of non-fujyoshi, or people looking for canon content. Bl is a fantasy exploration of pre-established media, an additional step away from reality. And you see this influence in american bl fans as well. Most responsible adults discourage 18 under people from interacting with 18+ content. It is going to be much rarer for 18+ bl content to be presented to minors with no prior warning then for het media or media that explicitly sexually objectifies women.
And I think in conversations about this topic is where you see not just misogyny and sexual policing of woman come in, but a lot of conversations and ideas revolve around how "gross" and "strange" and "foreign compared to woke Americans" the entire culture of fujyoshi is.
Trying to insist that Americans determine what definitions of language around a culture not originating or centered in America and sentiments about bl are "appropriate" is colonizing attitudes. It stems from the belief that the cultural values of the colonizer are inherently superior to another country. And treating the norms of a foreign sub-culture that was not only established in Japan but continues to flourish and be the center of media produced by that subculture as gross or strange is honestly tinged with Orientalism of the "sexual far east". It's hard to say that the image that all fujyoshi are women does not influence these ideas as well.
So let's delve in to relations between Japan and America for a hot second. Japan and America have a very unique relationship, especially for countries that are separated by the biggest ocean in the world. Without examining the entire history of the two countries, I want to focus on two points that I think shape the way Americans interact with Japanese media. First, America with it's "black ships" was the one to end Japan's Sakoku policy. They forcefully demanded Japan end it's strict regulations concerning interaction with other countries, start trading with various countries, and to open up to western influences.
This *greatly* changed the structure of Japan, and honestly the unequal treaties and inability of the Tokugawa shogunate to manage their relations with the west lead to the end of 264 years of governance. (The Meiji restoration is exciting, please read about it.)
The second topic you don't see many people discuss is the occupation of Japan by American(and English) forces from 1945–1952. While a lot of modernization and things that benefited common people occurred during this time, there was also wide spread instances of violence and rape. You still see generational hurt and mistrust in places like Okinawa, Sasebo, and Yokosuka where American navy bases were placed(and still exist today). If you can stomach it, I would recommend looking up statistics and reports, but I warn you the occupation was nasty business for women.
So what does this all have to do with modern fujyoshi? So in both of these time periods, prostitutes and courtesans were an essential part of political interactions. Many Americans gained their stereotypes about Japanese women through these encounters. Specifically these interactions were sexual or tinged with the sexual availability of these women, and looking at the increased rapes during the occupation once American GI focused brothels were abolished, you can see how this lens shaped Americans opinions of Japanese women. The story of madame butterfly is only unusual in that it gives the woman in it any agency in their interaction with american men.
So with this in mind, I think it's easy to see where a lot of stereotypes, specifically sexual stereotypes about Japan and Japanese women come from. America is used to looking at Japan as "the weird strange place of loose morals and loose women of strange sexual proclivities." This is shown how strong the influence of Japanese women as "geisha girls" is to this day, and it tints any conversation of about women and sexuality in Japan.
In modern day, you can see this carry over in to how people look at Japanese idols and women in anime. I would even say that it's evolved to infantilize Japanese women and the view of how Japanese women are expected to behave. A lot of other people have written literature and reading about fujyoshi and how it relates to the sexual liberation of women(without necessarily involving men or gay men) so I won't go in to that here, but there will be links at the end of the thread.
What I want to talk about is how historically America is used to putting itself front and center about any topic about the culture of Japan, and how the views Americans have about morality is considered to be "better" and more "woke"... even without context or how those sentiments shape the ideas of foreign people and foreign based media. But we also have to address how Americans have a huge problem with not being the expert voice in any conversation.
Over the last week, a significant number of Americans have been extremely comfortable in putting the power to decide what Japanese words mean and what Japanese sub-cultures are in their own hands, sometimes even attempting to remove my Japanese voice and background from me in an effort to center their own opinions. And honestly this isn't anything new. Americans are so comfortable with thinking of Asian voices as less influential then their own, that it doesn't stop people from thinking they are the experts about a topic that *does not come from their culture*. You see it with food, you see it with fashion, you see it with everything from equating Asians to *white lite* to assuming that Asians don't exist as mixed people but simply as a monolith.
There are so many people who were comfortable with placing themselves as experts in a sub-culture of Japanese origin that they knew nothing about, simply because they assumed it corresponded with one aspect of themselves. And it is hard to say that the confidence that these people placed themselves and their ignorance in the middle of the topic did not stem from Americans feeling of ownership over everything they enjoy.
The people supporting these people may have thought they were being good allies by blindly supporting them, but I saw very few people bothering to further their knowledge past the loose collection of stereotypes and horror stories I saw from the internet. Some of these feelings of superiority probably stem from the fact that these people assumed that all fujyoshi or bl content consumers are women. Misogyny isn't just the expression of hate towards women, but also the idea that non-women inherently have a more valuable opinion then woman, or that women's ideas are inherently less valuable then anyone elses.
I saw a lot of misogyny this week, both internal and external. There was hate from many people, for the idea that people they assumed women were thriving in a sub-culture that does not involve real gay men. I saw people who could not imagine that men were not at the center of a subculture created and supported by both women and queer people. I even saw examples of women bringing up their experiences as a gender they do not identify with in order to raise their voice against other assumed women. But the voices that attempted to de-legitimize assumed women grew even louder once they were speaking against Asian people, because there is an inherent assumption that their views are qualified, their opinions more valid, their morals better.
And honestly, this isn't just an issue with white and eurocentrific supremacy, this is an issue of American supremacy.
And that is certainly something we need to talk about.

⚔️ *:・゚✧┆HEADCANON : RE/MIND TRAILER ANALYSIS
I’ve been working on this since the final Re/Mind trailer was LEAKED, but now that it has been officially released I can finally POST IT! This headcanon post encompasses all three Re/Mind teaser trailers and some of the events of KH3. I know this is structured like a THEORY POST, but take it all with a pinch of salt: this is just a LORE DUMP for how I’ll be roleplaying Yozora until the DLC actually comes out. I’m not aiming to be ‘accurate’ or right, just stringing bits of CANON to line up with my portrayal ;v; So, without further ado, let’s jump right in...
( Warning, this is a stupidly long post ! )
ONE.  ┆ THE TWO HALVES OF THE SKY - YOZORA VS SORA
Without a doubt, Nomura has been planning this ARC for years. It is my firm belief that he was planning SORA and NOCTIS to eventually meet, the latter being axed from the joining the KH PLOT after Nomura was removed from XV’s development. Here is what Nomura ORIGINALLY SAID in 2013 about Sora and Noctis’s dynamic:
Do you know the name Sora mean the “sky”, in Japanese and Noctis, his family name is Caelum which mean sky as well so basically, Noctis means “night sky”, so they are kind of complete opposites to each other. There is a reason why I named these characters as opposites.
I don’t believe that Sora and Yozora are the SAME PERSON, nor is Yozora a FUSION of Riku and Sora, but rather, they PARALLEL each other narratively, like what Nomura originally INTENDED for Noctis and Sora. Yozora and Sora are simply OPPOSITES of each other.
I believe as much as SORA embodies light and hope, YOZORA embodies darkness and despair. SORA, not being TECH SAVVY ( see any interaction he has with a COMPUTER, or the first time he uses a GUMMIPHONE ), and YOZORA, who uses hyper-futuristic weaponry with EASE, and comes from a world where ROBOTICS is commonplace.
Aside from the obvious VISUAL JUXTAPOSITION between the optimistic keyblade wielder and the austere newcomer, I also believe that they are going to OPPOSE each other in abilities and goals. Much as Sora used the power of waking to BRING BACK LIVES, Yozora has just as much power to TAKE THEM: see the characteristic skull motif upon Yozora’s sleeves, as well as the prominent THEME OF DEATH within Versus XIII lore.
Which ties in perfectly to my headcanon about the role of REINCARNATION within the KH and Verum Rex worlds respectively. YOZORA is a harbinger of DEATH, and SORA is the harbinger of REBIRTH. Rebirth, of course, being the meaning behind the TITLE of the DLC, as mentioned by Nomura himself:
“ ... The meaning of what I just mentioned and the double-meaning are the same. It means “remind”, “reconfirmation”, “ reclaim the heart* ”, and so forth. ”
(*Note: 心 means “heart” and also “mind”, and 再生 can mean “regeneration”, so 心の再生 can also mean “regeneration” or “rebirth” of the “mind”. Also, “Reclaim Your Heart” is a phrase used on the back of the box for Verum Rex in Toy Box)
The TWO SKIES, like day and night, perpetually maintain this SAMSARA of death and rebirth. Both UNAWARE of each other’s existence, and IMPACT upon the wider universe.
UNTIL NOW. Given the description of the DLC mentioning ‘a secret episode and boss battle’ in a separate line, this is most likely alluding to YOZORA. As such, Yozora will play an antagonistic role towards SORA, at least for the events of Re//Mind. Yozora confronts Sora, after he ABUSES the power of waking to bring back all of his FRIENDS from death. The friends YOZORA was intending to REAP. And thus, the boss battle begins.
Whether Yozora CONTINUES to antagonise Sora even after Re//Mind, it can’t be ascertained at this point. But Sora had been REPEATEDLY WARNED that he will have a price to pay for abusing the POWER OF WAKING ( see the section on YMX below for more detail ). I believe YOZORA has come to deliver this retribution.
Tumblr media
TWO.  ┆ A SEA OF STARS - THE FINAL WORLD
There has been a lot of speculation about the ‘FINAL WORLD’ we see at the end of the Re//Mind trailer, and whether it IS EVEN the Final World, or the SAME 'Final World’ we have been visiting thus far with SORA.
So far, YOZORA’S WORLD has only been depicted at night. This, PAIRED with Yozora’s name meaning ‘night sky’, could imply that YOZORA HIMSELF caused the Final World to shift from DAY to NIGHT. The two ‘Final Worlds’ are one and the same.
But WHAT IS the Final World exactly? Chirithy describes the FINAL WORLD as a place where “the edges of sleep and death touch”, and that Sora had VISITED the Final World “more than once before on his visits to the Station of Awakening”. Chirithy also mentions that SORA previously came to the Final World “out of his own choice” and can’t just “wander out like his other visits”, when he came to the Final World after PERISHING at the Keyblade Graveyard. The fact that Sora QUESTIONED “What is the Final World?”, despite visiting NUMEROUS TIMES before, implies only one thing: Sora visits the Final World in his DREAMS. And, like most humans upon awakening, he fails to REMEMBER what he dreamt.
The fact that YOZORA is also present in the Final World, in a fully CORPOREAL FORM, implies that he also visits the Final World in his DREAMS, rather than simply arriving there after PERISHING. Their SHARED LINE from the KH1 opening says it all:
“I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately. Like... is any of this for real? Or not?”
The Final World is a realm one visits on the BRINK OF DEATH, and with Yozora and Sora being agents of DEATH and REBIRTH, they visit this realm even in their SLEEP. Yozora’s visits during his sleep are a PREMONITION orchestrated by the Watchmen of Fate, alluding to his destiny to ascend as the VERUM REX: aka the god of death.
Tumblr media
THREE.  ┆ A STRONG SENSE OF PURPOSE - THE NAMELESS STAR
I joked a lot about the NAMELESS STAR being Yozora’s love interest, but it may be CLOSER TO CANON than I originally thought: especially given Yozora’s appearance in the FINAL WORLD, and how accurate her DIALOGUE is to Stella Nox Fleuret: the infamous LOVE INTEREST from Nomura’s cancelled project, Versus XIII.
Aside from the obvious indicators ( “They took away my name, everything about me” ), the male she “PINES” for also fits perfectly with MY DEPICTION of Yozora. She mentions that he has been “changed beyond recognition, his heart replaced with another’s”. Aside from the developmental parallels of NOCTIS becoming YOZORA, it’s also accurate to my Yozora’s HEART being replaced with an ASTRAL CORE, with the Gigas experimentation CHANGING HIM beyond recognition ( his hair and eye colour ).
The NAMELESS STAR also mentioned that “were he to regain his old self again, he would be distressed by my absence”. Whatever HAPPENED to Yozora that made him forget about his LOVE INTEREST, his presence in the Final World alongside SORA gives the impression that he has REMEMBERED his love interest, and has come to rescue her-- much has SORA had returned to the Final World to rescue KAIRI.
Delving a teeny bit more into my OWN META here. I find it interesting that the NAMELESS STAR gave Sora advice about how to OVERCOME the TASKS before him. What intrigued me the MOST, is how she mentions his ability to RETAIN his PHYSICAL FORM in the Final World, due to his “strong sense of purpose”. The word ‘PURPOSE’ is distinctly emphasised by her voice actress, so I want to BELIEVE that there is importance to it.
MY PORTRAYAL of Yozora and his world encircles the concept of the ‘KARMA’ that lies inside all humans, as per the back of the VERUM REX BOX COVER in Toy Box. To summarise that post, this KARMA is the sum of a person’s grasp of FATE + CONSEQUENCE, and their connection to the SPIRITUAL REALM. The stronger your hold on your DESTINY, aka your karma, the stronger your CONNECTION to the cosmos. It is Sora’s POWERFUL HOLD ON FATE that gave him his corporeal form in the Final World-- much like YOZORA at the end of the Re//Mind trailer.
It thus becomes obvious that the NAME the Nameless Star whispers to Sora is YOZORA. Which not only explains why he looked so SHOCKED after hearing it, but also why Sora RETURNS to the Final World alone in the Re//Mind trailer. He was explicitly LOOKING FOR YOZORA, and was calling out his name-- and expressed the same level of SHOCK upon discovering that Yozora is MORE THAN just a video game character.
Tumblr media
FOUR.  ┆ AN AGENT IN THE SHADOWS - YOUNG MASTER XEHANORT
Puzzling enough, the Re//Mind trailers also REVEAL that Young Master Xehanort has been WORKING ALONGSIDE the Master of Masters. How is this relevant to Yozora, you ask? Consider the following:
1. YMX was the MAIN VILLAIN in the Toy Box world. He was responsible for introducing SORA to Verum Rex, quite literally, by THROWING HIM into the Verum Rex video game ( which I canon to be the ‘data’ version of YOZORA’S WORLD... but that’s for another post lol ).  2. YMX is WORKING with MoM, who appears along with Yozora in the SECRET ENDING, in the Shibuya district of Yozora’s world.  3. In Dream Drop Distance, YMX made a PROMISE with two characters from The World Ends with You, a game directed by NOMURA encircling the concept of reapers, also based in SHIBUYA. The promise being to bring them back to their world, if they brought Sora and Riku to him. Perhaps YMX did FULFIL that promise, and RETURNED the TWEWY characters to Shibuya. Which implies that HE KNOWS how to reach Shibuya: where MoM was present.
Nomura mentioned in the KH3 ULTIMANIA, that the Shibuya featured in the SECRET ENDING is in a “different reality” compared to the TWEWY Shibuya. What if the SHIBUYA of Yozora’s world, coexisted with the Shibuya of TWEWY? Much like how the worlds were SPLIT IN TWO, not only in Dream Drop Distance, but in Toy Box as well?
Tumblr media
4. More specific to my META for Yozora, YMX finds it INTRIGUING that “even empty puppets can be given strong hearts”, and that “a heart can be placed in a vessel of our choosing”. My Yozora was essentially moulded into a PUPPET of Gigas Corporation after having his heart replaced with an ASTRAL CORE, with the intention of making him rise as a ‘HIGHER BEING’: an elevated version of humanity. Also note how YMX says ‘OUR’... what if he was not alluding to True Organisation XIII... but HIMSELF AND MoM?
5. YMX also plays a ROLE in Sora abusing the power of waking. Before unleashing the FINAL BOSS of Toy Box on Sora, he whispers “Find the hearts joined to yours”. In the Re//Mind trailer, SORA re-emphasises this: “But, follow my heart? Hearts are all connected. Trace the connection!”. YMX also APPEARS again, after Sora dove into all of the Sleeping Worlds, claiming that he nearly “buried himself in the dark of sleep”, TWICE OVER: once in DDD, and once again in KH3-- instances where YMX was both present.
Note how also, Nomura chose SAN FRANSOKYO as the final Sleeping World that Sora reaches, before YMX appears. San Fransokyo being very AESTHETICALLY SIMILAR to Yozora’s world ( Both being TOKYO CODED CITIES, with a night time setting ).
Despite LEADING Sora down this doomed path, YMX WARNS him that there is a “high price to pay” for wielding such power FOOLISHLY, and that he had now “paid (this) price”. The price? HIS OWN LIFE. This is reiterated several times in the GAME and PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL:
a. On the BACK of the Verum Rex box cover in Toy Box, it mentions ‘A JOURNEY WITHOUT A PLACE TO RETURN’.  b. In the Re//Mind trailer: once by XEHANORT himself: “Seeing that you have also taken the FORBIDDEN PATH, you too must be ready to make the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE”. c. And once again by CHIRITHY, claiming that Sora will “vanish from this world”, and that “without ( his ) powers, ( he ) can’t return to the world ( he ) came from”. Sora has not only LOST the power of waking, but had also SACRIFICED HIS LIFE.
Stranded in the FINAL WORLD, with no one left to turn to, Sora calls out a NAME. The name of a person he knows is COMING to the Final World... to save his lost star.
SHOUTOUT to Steph ( @kyecupio ) for fuelling the big galaxy brain with XEHANORT and YOZORA’S connection fgjhfg.
Tumblr media
FIVE.  ┆ THE WATCHMAN OF FATE - MASTER OF MASTERS
We’ve gotten an INSIGHT into YMX’s intentions, but what has the MoM got to do with all of this? Why does he APPEAR in the secret ending?
We already know that MoM is working alongside YMX from the brief Re//Mind trailer, where it is disclosed that the MoM GIFTED YMX the characteristic black coat that wards off darkness. YMX is also seemingly REPORTING to MoM about a ‘world tour’, which I assume MoM advised him to go on. What is this ‘world tour’? Difficult to tell at this point.
But what I do know is that MoM is OBSESSED on keeping universal order. He created the GAZING EYE to allow himself to see into the future and write the BOOK OF PROPHECIES, and refuses to give LUXU a copy of the book to ‘avoid temporal paradoxes’. Nomura has definitely created an ANTAGONISM between Luxu/Xigbar and Xehanort, especially NOW with it being revealed that YMX is working with MoM.
Tumblr media
WHATEVER Nomura is planning with LUXU vs MoM/YMX, I can’t be certain. But what I do know, is MoM’s MOTIVES are extremely similar to MY META for the Watchmen of Fate, something I have come up with exclusively for MY PORTRAYAL of Yozora and his world.
The WATCHMEN OF FATE are responsible for maintaining the BALANCE AND ORDER of the universe, and are CHARACTERISED by their dark reaper’s hoods. Note how the MoM never takes his hood off, and this HOOD is strikingly uncanny to a GRIM REAPER. Furthermore, the Watchmen of Fate in my canon are not only NOTED for keeping the order of the universe, but some are also ‘TRICKSTERS’ by nature and occasionally like to manipulate fate. Note how MoM also has a PLAYFUL PERSONALITY despite his wider goal.
I believe the MoM has a greater power in the UNIVERSE, and has advised YMX to lead SORA to the Realm of the Dead where YOZORA resides. For what purpose? To UNITE the agents of DEATH and REBIRTH under the same sky. To fulfil the cycle of KARMA. To achieve the REINCARNATION of all worlds.
To reincarnate Kingdom Hearts.
Tumblr media
TO CONCLUDE:
1. MoM and YMX are rogue Watchmen of Fate, trying to REBIRTH the universe together via KINGDOM HEARTS. 2. They want to UNITE SORA ( who embodies rebirth ), and YOZORA ( who embodies death ), to achieve the REINCARNATION of the universe ( death + rebirth ) 3. SORA is seeking Yozora because he TALKED to the Nameless Star, YOZORA is seeking Sora because he USED the power of waking to REVERSE DEATH, they both meet at the FINAL WORLD. Yozora initiates the BOSS BATTLE because “ you broke the rules, perish ” 4. YMX ( + MoM? ) possibly SPLIT SHIBUYA into two: one comprising of YOZORA’S REALITY, and one comprising of TWEWY’S REALITY ( not sure of the reasons yet but it’s suss ) 5. ( Specific to my VERUM REX META ) YMX and MoM are potentially connected to GIGAS CORP, given YMX’s intrigue about placing STRONG HEARTS in EMPTY VESSELS, much like Gigas Corp are, thus already serving as ANTAGONISTS to both Yozora and Sora.

Since I posted my thoughts about how Roswell has adequately represented queer men on the show and completely shit the bed on their representation of most everything else, I need to address the epically fucked-up treatment of female queerness and the queer female gaze in the context of Isobel and Rosa. This has been bugging me for a few weeks, and the reveal of Noah as the fourth alien pretty much cemented my feelings on the matter. I know there are people who feel the way I do about it, but if there’s another post on the subject I just haven’t seen, please link me. And if you disagree completely about this too, that’s cool. Let’s discuss.
While in my last post I applauded the show on its treatment of Michael’s bisexuality, I still don’t feel great about the introduction of a Michael/Alex/Maria love triangle. It’s one thing for Carina to double down on her defense of love triangles and insist they are not an overused and biphobic trope in popular media--news flash, it is, and in this case it’s also potentially damaging to the one black woman on the show, who will almost certainly bear the brunt of fans’ ire for “stealing Michael away” if they go through with a Maria/Michael relationship. I’m sorry if I don’t take a random straight white woman’s insistence to the contrary as gospel. Saying your formative years were shaped by straight love triangles doesn’t change the fact that it’s an insulting trope to women and an outright damaging one to queers, not even taking into consideration how the two intersect, or further when you consider POC characters, etc. You can’t compare straight relationships with queer ones, in the same way you can’t compare white experiences with nonwhite ones. To insist otherwise denies a whole system of privilege that drastically shapes and influences people’s lived experiences.
But that isn’t what I want to address, because it’s another thing altogether to come for female sexuality and queerness. If I was willing to maybe give Malex a pass on the good-intentions-written-badly front, this is a hill I’m ready to die on. Isobel’s arc in season 1 of RNM demonstrates a lack of understanding that these are identities equally vulnerable to attack, exploitation, and misrepresentation--maybe even more so--as male queerness. That the outrage about Malex drowns out this other but no less important conversation kind of reaffirms the point I’m trying to make.
More under the cut.
Female sexuality has always struggled to find positive representation in popular media, no matter the time period or culture. Compared to male sexuality, it is not taken seriously, always played against the male gaze, or disregarded altogether because it excludes men. Queer female desire challenges societal structures around male desire and sexuality because it just… doesn’t require men to function and in fact actively rejects them. This is obviously a problem because the patriarchy loves it when men are shown to be extraneous and irrelevant.
A lot of us know what it is to be invalidated as queer women, socially and sexually. Put your hand up if you’re a woman (in which I include cis and trans women, of course) or nonbinary individual who desires women and has been told, oh, you just haven’t met the right man yet, or oh, you’re just putting on a show for male attention. We have all been there and experienced this kind of erasure to various degrees of aggressiveness. This refrain is especially loud for bisexual women, who suffer erasure and ridicule from queer and straight communities alike, but the fact is, women’s sexuality has always been portrayed as less than or dependent upon that of a man’s. That isn’t to say bisexual men don’t also experience bi erasure. They do, and this is as much a product of homophobia as it is the primacy of the queer male gaze even within queer spaces and contexts. But in this case I’m addressing that of female and nonbinary bi-erasure and biphobia.
Furthermore, the role of queer women in society and popular media has always been underrepresented compared to that of gay men, or seen as more harmless or less significant, groundbreaking, or offensive for a couple of reasons: namely that a lot of people have played down or played off the existence of female sexuality and desire because they doubt its validity to begin with, or it’s “allowed” because it’s desirable to the male gaze. In some ways this has worked in our favour because subversive or queer female behaviour and desire in media have been able to fly beneath the radar, but it’s still a symptom of a greater problem.
I include this preamble because the writers of Roswell New Mexico have stunningly managed to ignore or remain ignorant to this context. The straight women on the show are shown to express their sexuality in upfront or positive ways, even opening up conversations about kink and reversing gender roles, but often in problematic ways too. The show sometimes fails the Bechdel Test or reduces characters, especially WOC like Maria, to having no purpose but to desire male characters and be desired by them, or portrays them as unable to want sex without quickly falling in love the way Maria seemingly has done with Michael. They’ve known each other for over a decade, and yet Maria only catches feelings after they’ve had sex, a night that, supposedly, meant nothing to her but quickly is revealed not to be the case. Interesting.
But beyond even that, my beef is with the whole Isobel-might-be-bisexual-and-in-love-with-Rosa-Ortecho storyline. I was excited about it at first; I couldn’t believe our luck that we had not one, but two bisexual characters on the show, and one of them was a bisexual woman married to a really awesome and seemingly caring South Asian man. But it was not to be, and this to me is ridiculously tone deaf and offensive in light of the fact that she was possessed by a male alien the whole goddamn time.
This tells us two equally disturbing things about the writers’ take on the queer female gaze and queer female sexuality: a) according to them, in this context, it literally doesn’t exist, and b) it is wholly a product of and subject to the male gaze.
From the promo for 1x12 it looks like they are going to delve a little bit into the mindfuck around consent due to Noah effectively brainwashing/tricking Isobel into marrying him, but one aspect of this I’d be surprised if they acknowledge is how he has also robbed Isobel of agency over her own sexuality. Not only has she been in a nonconsensual relationship with Noah this whole time, but he’s stripped her of the ability to discern whether her desires are her own, including the possibility that she is bisexual. As a woman, how can Isobel take her own sexuality seriously/see it as valid when she’s been forced to reconcile with the fact that, until now, it hasn’t been?
And that’s not even scratching the surface of the fact that a man used a woman, against her will and without her knowledge, to kill another woman. All over the simple fact that Rosa didn’t desire him/Isobel by extension. This stupid-as-fuck storyline is literally about weaponizing queer female sexuality in order to do violence against women.
Just think about that for a second.
To make matters worse, Noah is a South Asian man and represents a community that is already marginalized in white media and society. Brown men have, in white culture, been relegated to two-dimensional stereotypes, rejected as love interests, and often portrayed as villains, and instead of positively developing an Indian character in a multiracial relationship and using that representation for good, he’s been made to violate his wife and use her to kill another woman. My girl @insidious-intent has written a really fantastic post to that end and I’d encourage you to read it. According to Carina, hiring Karan Oberoi to play Noah was colourblind casting. But viewers aren’t naive enough to buy that it’s ever that simple, or it shouldn’t be. I don’t see how you can write a nonwhite character the same as you would a white one and not expect it to have deeper or more damaging implications.
So my point, or at least one of them, is this: the failure of Roswell New Mexico to its queer viewers isn’t just that they’ve desecrated a ship as sacred as Malex or, at best, totally failed to do it justice. Roswell has failed us by invalidating and retconning female sexuality, and if this isn’t something we should all be angry about, straight and queer viewers alike, I don’t know what to tell you. While people are justified in expressing their anger to Carina about Malex, I think it’s also important to acknowledge and protest JUST AS LOUDLY the queer female angle. When you are thinking about how to represent, express, and phrase your disappointment to the production team, remember this goes far deeper than Malex. She has let us all down in ways that have nothing to do with our ship potentially not becoming a reality by the end of this season. She’s let POC viewers down just as resoundingly hard, both distinctly and factoring in the intersectionality of their writing choices.
All writers make mistakes. I want to put that out there. And I also want to put it out there that the issues around queer and POC representation are serious and disappointing, but not insurmountable if the writing team shows a willingness to learn, improve, and listen if the show is greenlit for season 2. But that isn’t what they’re doing. Carina has taken a stand, via Twitter, that they’ve done nothing wrong, and that is a big red flag that the writing team isn’t as woke as it likes to pretend and definitely not interested in listening to criticisms about their politics or how they try to convey them. So are her efforts of trying to silence bisexual viewers with legitimate criticism, or POC viewers doing the same thing. She and the writers would rather praise themselves for their token representation than acknowledge, listen to, and learn from real people expressing real concerns and sharing lived experiences.

11 Questions Tag
Woot, my 2nd tag eva!
Tagged by @notanotherhour! Thank you, lovely ✩·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ )*̩̩͙✩·͙˚̩̥̩̥.
1. What inspired your most recent WIP?
Moooost recent? Hm hm hm. It’s hard to remember which is the most recent considering how many wips and ideas I have, but I believe the most recent one is Sky Warrior. It’s inspired by and pays homage to an old LOTRs RPG writing-board I did with some other Orlando Bloom fangirls. We jumped on a plane and crashed in Middle Earth. Needless to say, surprising adventures ensued. I’ve been thinking about making a page for it, but the opening is posted here.
2. Do you prefer writing at day or night?
Night! When it’s dark and I’m alone and there’s no one to bother me. I’m also an insomniac, so it’s when my creativity flows best.
3. Would you ever want to see one of your wips adapted into a film or tv series?
I saw Bearer of Power in my head as if it was a movie, so I always tried to emphasize its visual aesthetics. I’d be pretty pleased if that made it. So long as I was in charge and the budget was expansive. Any of my other wips would be visually pleasing too. I think. But Frost of Avalon is probably the closest second.
4. What is the first plot you ever remember writing?
In elementary, we were supposed to write a little short story. If I recall, mine was about a purple and green cat-alien. I don’t remember anything about it. There may have been food involved.
5. What is your editing process?
I rewrite my first draft with a side by side view. Then I’ll add the meatiness of the scene(s).
After that, I look for repetitive ideas and choose the better visual. I tend to convey the same intention three different ways (pointed out to me by my editor), so this process is important for me. I also get rid of unnecessary phrases that are slowing down the action such as: she felt, he saw etc.
Then! I do a search for /be/ verbs to see if I can nix them by changing the sentence. Then! I search for words used too often or close together and manipulate the sentence to get rid of them.
I do a last read through after that, tweak it, and then I send it to the beta reader/editor if I have one for that project.
6. Who’s your favorite author?
I don’t know if I have an actual favorite author. I have favorite books whose author’s writing I enjoy, but I may not have necessarily liked other books by that author and so do not consider them my favorite...
Short answer: Garth Nix and Sherwood Smith are the authors of my favorite novels (both fantasy). Aya Shouoto, Rei Toma, and Julietta Suzuki have authored my favorite manga.
7.  How do you take critique?
With a lot of anxiety and trepidation, but I get over it after finally reading the comments. They’re never as bad as I anticipate. You’d think it wouldn’t scare me as much after having an editor/mentor nicely tear my writing apart. He’s improved my pros by leaps and bounds. Now critiques are more about how to improve my story or answer questions (which I prefer. plot holes bad) versus sentence structure and grammatical ignorance, which just made me feel stupid. Now, I’m a pro at pros ᕙ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ᕗ
Jk. I still get carried away sometimes, in which case my new editor gently reminds me to pull back on the overly ornate visuals.
8. Do any of your OCs have pets? If not, what pet would they want?
Carna has a pet wolf for a while. She also has a pet horse––kind of? Can I call a sentient being a pet? Carys has a pet fox for a bit. Hm. All three of those pets have a huge similarity. I need to be careful about repeating ideas in different versus. Then again, I get tired of having to remember to write in the pet, which is why they’re not exactly just pets. Oh! Melody has a pet duck! And it’s just a duck :3 Arthur from Frost of Avalon wants a pet dragon, but no one will let him have one.
9. How realistic do you like your worlds to be?
So long as I can see it in my head and process its function, I’m cool with a whole range of reality. I feel like, so long as the world building is solid and you make me believe in it then the world is realistic, even if it’s very not. I like writing these too. Though I’ve yet to actually delve into anything crazy aside from super awesome magical abilities and crazy god-like beings  ( ͡ºั ͜つ ͡ºั) I like them stupidly overpowered because I’m power hungry. It’s the only way I can live out my dreams of absolute domination, though I appreciate a good stipulation. Otherwise, some of my stories would end in a couple of chapters.
10. How many drafts do you intend on writing for your current piece?
Which one? Bearer of Power is probably on its 30th rewrite? But if we’re talking the one I’m most invested in right now, probably 2 or 3 depending on the author head and editor?
11. What writing advice do you have for other writers?
Write write write. Write about what you love and what you want to read, but be open to learn from those who know more than you. I mentioned earlier that I had a mentor/editor for a while. I wish I had one way earlier. I wouldn’t have had to endure some of the not so nice comments about my earlier pros if I had. But don’t let anyone tell you what to write. That’s up to you, and be careful about someone dictating your voice. Though I learned a lot from my mentor, our writing voices were very different, and I was on the verge of losing mine in his attempt to improve my writing.
Same questions.

Map of the Soul: Persona; Overview
Tumblr media
overview: this starts the new series of bangtan as they completed the love yourself trilogy series. now, they delve deeper into the meaning of persona, discovering yourself as you start to love yourself and embrace your flaws. later on, I will talk about the upcoming next few albums that as seen from Namjoon’s Intro: Persona MV, shadow and ego are next and based on the book, ‘Jung’s Map of the Soul’; these are the next two album names of the Map of the Soul series.
do support my ko-fi if you can~
⇝ masterlist
intro: persona: the sampled beat from intro: skool luv affair has proven that the boys are exploring a more old school beat, old hip hop even and you could tell in the way that Namjoon structured his rap. also, the way he does it coupled with how long this intro is, certainly a feet to be acknowledged. he shows his diversity in rapping throughout the song as the song develops but goes back to his flow. definitely something to applaud him for as he did so well in full out rapping this intro.
boy with luv (ft. halsey): the new title track and for the first time, it’s featuring someone!!!! usually when the boys collab, they do not feature in a song but to note that they started with the collabs only later on in the love yourself: her series with steve aoki and chainsmokers for the truth untold and best of me. so, having someone to feature in a song, is definitely taking these collabs to the next level. love how the song sound a bit retro but yet modernized if you know what I mean. The featuring of halsey was subtly done in terms of the chorus only which was interesting considering most featurings would take a verse by themselves before the bridge. However, it is refreshing to see halsey being part of this in the chorus, not overpowering the boys and the boys not really overpowering them either, they worked well together.
mikrokosmos: at first listen, I was not that fond of the beat, it’s too synthesized for my own liking but I must say that whiplash sound really does get your attention. Also, the build up to Hoseok’s part and throughout the song is what gives the song its distinct points. The chorus I must say wasn’t what I expected it to be. It just wasn’t the kind of sound I was expecting but I must say it’s kind of refreshing, the whole ‘I got you, you got me’, got me thinking of toy story and the sudden ‘oh oh’ made it more british pop sound like. Also, how the raps are placed in this song, is not as obvious and I really appreciate it.
make it right: definitely my most fav song out of the whole album? Honestly the beat already getd to you right from the beginning with the synthesized trumpet kind of sound, and it’s so laidback but not to the extent of singularity. Definitely something, honestly the beat is so sexy and sensual that it could easily just be a bed song. It’ just so well done, I love how the chorus is just never right at your face, it’s actually pretty constant except for maybe a few changes in the beats but the same synth is being played throughout the song, much like the saxophone in dope of bts. Love this song. Lord knows, I love ed Sheeran for writing this song. The beat is the one.
home: this is where it hits home, mostly because of how this song is meant to be for armys, coupled with yoongi’s lyrics that he wrote in reference in ‘we are bulletproof pt.2’ made me realize the boys have always stayed the same as they are, truly they are the same boys that they are 6 years ago and id be damned if I don’t be there till the very end. also, home has the same beat that could literally be in relation to dimple and love maze, the kind of more modernized synths literally. This is the trinity.
Jamais Vu: interesting to see how they are using a phrase that is opposite from one many of us know which is déjà vu. I will talk more about this later on. But anyway, this seems to be one of the first subunit songs that we would get as based on the version 2 concept photos, well at least that’s what people were speculating but we are then proved to be boo boo the fools because well it didn’t follow exactly. So apart from this, it seems as though the next 2 albums of the series would also contain subunit songs. But anyway, love how they made use of hoseok in a way, utuilising both his rap and vocal abilities. Hoseok is commonly known to be part of the underlying vocals for many of the bangtan songs including spring day and make it right etc. also, this song has a really nice contrast especially towards the end, making use of hoseok but in a more subtle whisper, it sounds more muffled. Also the pleading in both jinkook’s voices is important to note.
dionysus: this song literally is the one that could be on par with rock songs such as fall out boy and panic at this disco, they have the same energy. I am just simply fascinated as to why this really all hype song is at the end of the album, especially considering they do not have an outro for this. It sounds as though in this song, they are definitely pushing the whole persona in which the lyrics in Dionysus mainly talk about acting like a Dionysus, drinking etc, I will explain more about this in the individual song analysis. Definitely a hype song, without a doubt, I love how it remained pretty consistent in terms of the chorus and if you think the song couldn’t get any harder well the last chorus would prove you wrong. Also, seokjin’s rock vaosl are definitely something to take note, it’s so good, it’s on par with his crystal snow and epiphany vocals.
last thoughts: definitely an interesting flow of how the songs are arranged, usually most of their songs over the years have been going to a whole end of the story kind of chapter but maybe because there is no outro so the album ends incomplete? I am still intrigued that they ended the album with Dionysus so I can’t wait to see how they transition this into their other upcoming albums.

Flashback: late 1490s into early 1500s CE, near the Ural mountains
The seventh child of a seventh child. From the moment of his birth, Septimus had been guaranteed to be powerful in the ways of magic. But neither his parents nor his siblings had expected him to be a sorcerer.
After all his years in the continents’ best university, with all the acclaim he’d acquired, he still wished he had been born just a plain wizard, like all his colleagues and classmates. But when he had heard of a young sorcerer, newly arrived and seeking an apprenticeship, one who’d been turned down with the same wariness that Septimus himself had faced, he had known he had to do something.
Not for the first time did he wish the stigma wasn’t so strong. Sorcereri weren’t even a separate race from wizards. The only outwardly-discernible difference was golden or partially golden eyes. Septimus knew this particular trait stood out more in him than others - bright golden streaks through royal blue eyes were rather noticeable. He hadn’t actually needed the horn-rimmed glasses he wore until his third year of study, when staring at scrolls for hours on end had finally degraded his sight. The flash of the golden rims were a suitable distraction for many, especially if they hadn’t already heard of him.
By the current point in his career, luckily, people knew him for his deeds and accolades, not a quirk of birth.
Ever since he was a child, Septimus had been imbued with a healthy respect and fear for his own magical power. Unlike wizards, his ability hadn’t needed intense study and training to be vast and powerful. As a sorcerer, he had been born a natural conduit, able to channel ambient magic from his surroundings without needing to summon it from within himself. But study helped him modulate how carefully he conducted magic, and how effectively and efficiently he was able to use it. Plus, through study and knowledge he was able to control it.
He would never forget the fear in his mother’s eyes when he’d had a temper tantrum at five years old. He forgot why he’d been so upset, but just as he began to wail, a lightning bolt flashed from a cloudless sky to strike a sapling in their front yard. The poor plant had been split in two as it burst into flames. His mother had stepped back carefully, both hands out, eyes wide, speaking quietly like he was a bear or a monster about to attack. He’d overheard his brothers and siblings muttering about moving away, or sending him away to a secure location. That was the day he resolved to never again let his emotions get the best of him. He would be master of himself and his magic.
And he’d been successful. He’d learned meditation, calming techniques, anything that worked to keep himself stable and unemotional. Through studying these techniques, he’d learned how much a magical education might help him. At eleven, he’d convinced his father to send him to university. The wariness in the headmaster’s eyes had been apparent even then, but he did not allow himself to become self-conscious or self-doubting. He was there to learn.
Now, in his mid-twenties, Septimus the Azure was a prodigy, a proud graduate of the university and star in the field of magical research. His treatise on uses of dragon’s blood in potion-making, written while he was still a student, had become world-famous in magical circles. He was the youngest professor the university had ever had, and by far the youngest to be allowed his own laboratory and study in the university’s Tower. He had earned every bit of it, fighting every inch to be taken seriously for his demonstrated academic prowess and regimented use of magic, not his vast natural ability.
He’d thought maybe he’d need to contend with jealousy, but at least within the university, his potential power was seen as a literal threat to the lives of those around him, not as an ability to be desired or sought. Magical power, the thinking went, ought be earned through rigorous study and practice alone. And so that was what Septimus had done.
He sat up from his desk, where he’d been using an enormous magnifying glass to read records from ancient fairy colonies. The minuscule size of the tomes had deterred generations of wizards from learning about the tiny creatures, but Septimus was determined to change that.
Ah, that reminded him. He needed a scroll for reference. He stood, looking for his newly-chosen apprentice. The younger sorcerer had appeared starstruck when Septimus had introduced himself and asked him to come work with him. And he was a very hard worker, which Septimus appreciated. He just couldn’t remember his name. Guido? Petrarch? Something from the south of the continent. It would come to him, if he really needed it.
“Apprentice?”
“Yes, sir?”
“Can you find me the second volume of the Anthology of Fae Colonies and Lineages? It should be in the third case, fourth or fifth shelf. Near the Codex of Fairy Circles.”
“Of course, Master Septimus.”
Moments later, the apprentice had lugged over the several-pound tome to Septimus’ reading desk. It was his favorite invention, despite its simple nature, and it was entirely in tune with his particular frequency of magic. A large wooden wheel spun gently, each of its flat paddles holding a scroll or book open, each able to be pulled down onto his writing desk for better examination, or use with the fold-out magnifying glass. At any moment, he could call out a key phrase or word and the wheel would glow, moving the reference book most relevant to his request to be more easily viewed. He placed the fairy tome onto a paddle and secured it with the magical prongs that both held it in place as well as scanned its text to function with the spell. He prepared to delve back into his studies, but his apprentice was still looking at him.
He supposed the correct thing to do would be engage. The slightly-younger man had been working for him for a week now.
“Did you need something?”
“I was just wondering - could you tell me what your current project is?” the younger man asked, gold-and-brown eyes hopeful.
Septimus would normally have resented any interruption, but that flame in his eye was too familiar - the burning desire to learn.
“Of course. Have a seat, Apprentice,” he offered, before realizing every chair was covered in scrolls or books. Hiding a blush, he gestured crisply, and a royal blue light lifted them back into orderly stacks on the small shelves by his desks.
“Now. What have you learned in lectures about the lives of the fae folk, known colloquially as fairies?”
His apprentice sat and straightened to attention, the same movement required by most of Septimus’ colleagues and former teachers.
“They live in colonies of approximately fifty to two hundred, usually separated by large physical distances from one another, but are all considered family or kin. There do not appear to be any actual nuclear families, at least in part due to lack of sex or gender. Their society is highly hierarchical, with councils of Elders making decisions for each colony, including magical assignments,” the student said, speaking with his eyes partially closed as he recited. “In the past, fae folk had strong ties with humanity through the Godparent relationship, with a single fairy being assigned to a single human who usually has some fate or grand potential, or a particularly tragic existence. However, new reports of Godparent relationships in the last two centuries have been few and far between.”
Septimus nodded. “You’re clearly a dedicated student. Well done. Have your professors offered any reasons for the declining reports?”
His apprentice went to scratch his head, then caught himself and held his hands in his lap. “Only speculations. Professor Umber suggested there may have been an incident between humans and fairies that have made them less inclined to help. Professor Junipera believes that the fae colonies have simply been more subdued, finding less prominent humans to aid. But they don’t know for sure, that much is clear, no matter how confident they sound in their assertions.”
“Ah, you’ve learned the most important lessons of university,” Septimus said with a wry grin. “that is, how to see and hear through the academic babble. But it’s true - we are not sure why the number of Godparent reports have appeared to decrease. However, I believe our framing is the issue. It may be that the number of Godparents has decreased because the number of fairies has decreased. They live for many centuries, possibly as long as a millennium. But they do age, and die of age. It is very possible that the fae folk are aging out, without enough young fairies being born to take their place.”
His apprentice was shocked. “I… that’s possible? For magical beings to… die out?”
Septimus was somber yet measured in his response. “I do not know for sure. We have no recorded instances of such a thing. But I believe it may be occurring before our very eyes. As other populations grow, magical folk and creatures may be just as at risk of extinction as are non-magical animals. I myself found that, at least due to crowding of their natural habitats, dragons are becoming harder to find. Getting enough variety of dragons’ blood for my research to be able to generalize my findings to the genus as a whole… well. The particular pitfalls of my methodology are not relevant. The point is, I do think there is a not-infinitesimal chance that the fae folk are disappearing. If any knowledge of their history and culture is to be preserved, it must be done now, while the primary source still exists. That is what my current research focuses on - compiling what records we already have and seeking answers to those gaps in our existing knowledge.”
“Master Septimus, if you think such a thing is possible and happening now, why not do something to stop it? Don’t we have an obligation to our fellow magical beings to preserve their species?” the young sorcerer asked curiously, with a slight hint of indignation.
The sorcerer leaned back, fingertips touching in a tent as he considered the question. “I… don’t know that it would even be possible to reverse the trend, if such a trend exists. Nor do I know that it would be our place to interfere. To meddle in the process of reproduction, for another species no less! Not only do I worry about the ethical implications, but fairies are intensely private when it comes to the exact locations of their colonies and their inner workings. What documents we have here are mostly due to particularly studious Godchildren who convinced their Godparents to document their experiences and history. I would not presume to approach a fairy colony and insert myself into their population issues. No, my role is that of a historian. I will do what I can to preserve their story and culture for posterity, so that future generations may be educated if the fae should ever truly disappear.”
The young man looked down, clearly upset. “Master… could such a thing happen to us? To… sorcerers?”
“I… am unsure. So little is known about us, and how exactly we come to be. We are not a separate species from wizards, and the offspring of two sorcerers are not always sorcerers in turn. We are… anomalies. But regularly-recurring ones. And you and I both know that we are much more than merely flukes.”
Two pairs of gold-marked eyes met, one kind, the other determined.
“Thank you, Master Septimus. For explaining, but also for taking me on, and not treating me like a… liability.”
“Of course. I’ve been in your shoes, or pairs that looked a lot like them. And you can call me just Septimus if you wish.”
“Thank you, Mas- Septimus. And if you want, you can just call me Dante,” he replied with an impish grin.
“I will do so, Dante. Do let me know if there are any other burning questions I can answer for you. Even if you just need someone to vent to.”
Five years passed. Dante continued his studies at the university, taking after his mentor in his ability to push past the professors’ and fellow students’ assumptions about sorcery. Unlike his mentor, he found that his personality could be an equal asset to his academic achievement, charming his way through the stone towers and sneaking his way to just the right spots for opportunities and recognition.
He burst into Septimus’ tower laboratory one day, black hair flopping excitedly as he raced to greet his mentor and friend.
“TIMUS! Is it true? I go south for two months for fieldwork and you’ve suddenly acquired a new magical artifact?”
Septimus rose from his desk to embrace the younger man, ruffling his dark curls. His young friend was very particular about his appearance these days, but his mentor was the one person allowed to see him at anything less than perfectly coiffed. “Apologies, Dante, I should have known better to save all my arcane acquisitions for your return. How was the Harz?”
“Oh it was excellent, the sprites there were the friendliest I’ve met so far. I got the impression that they’ve a history of more cooperation with other magic folk, but you know sprites - keeping track of history isn’t exactly their strong suit. Why did you let me get myself into such a difficult dissertation topic?”
“Because you were determined to prove me wrong, and you are too good at talking your way out of conversations. Or into them,” Septimus grinned, one arm still around his younger friend. “I’m glad you’re back though - this place always gets a little too sane and complacent without you.”
Dante squeezed him with one arm, a genuine smile on his face. “Missed you too, Timus. But hey,” he interjected suddenly, “you distracted me! I came here to hear about the artifact!”
“Ah yes, of course. The staff. Come here.”
Septimus led his former apprentice and current mentee to his back room, where a table had been dedicated to a long and gnarled piece of wood. It would have looked like any tree branch twisted by an invasive vine if it hadn’t been for the dome of blue fire that surrounded it. Septimus lifted his hands as they began to glow with the same fire. A complex pass of his hands expanded the shield spell to include himself and Dante, who gasped audibly.
“That… aura! What is this thing?” he breathed.
“That’s just it. We’re not sure. The heir from one kingdom over killed Vignar the dragon. This was in his hoard. The victorious prince was bedridden for a month after touching it with his bare hands, thus, I would highly advise you don’t try, not unless you want me to have another nice chat with the headmaster about how I’m sure you’re not going to bring down the Tower on our heads.”
“Point taken,” Dante shuddered. “My stars, the emanations it gives off without contact - the whole school must feel it when it’s outside of this shield.”
“Not quite the whole school. Only those who have a high sensitivity to magic. You know,” he elbowed the younger man, who quirked a smile back. “The absolute oldest faculty, and us. Thus, it lives here, where I’ll sense any disturbance more quickly. Plus, I have the magical reserves to spend on keeping the spell up.”
Dante shivered. “You know I trust you far more than any of these graybeards anyway. Ugh, it’s going to give me a headache, can you close down the shield?”
Septimus nodded and reversed his gesture, re-linking thumbs and forefingers into his chest, passing palm over palm, and sending the fire back to a dense bubble once more.
“So. Theories of origin? You have at least one, I know you do,” Dante said with a grin.
Septimus cleared his throat. “Well, yes, actually. Based on what we know of Vignar’s life and raids, it appears that any sort of magical artifact of this caliber would be from one of the universities on the other side of the world, or from the sprites. And since we have communicated with our sibling institutions and they have only guesses at best, the sprites do seem to somehow have been the origin of this artifact. And yes,” he said, putting up a hand to stop Dante’s squawk of indignation, “before you ask, I was always going to show you the staff and share this exact theory. I would never willfully interfere in your dissertation, you know this. Which brings me to the disconcerting element.”
The two sorcerers settled back into Septimus’ study, a floating teapot zooming over from the hearth to fill their favorite mugs as the elder sorcerer continued.
“From my experimentation and that of the senior wizards here, we can find no purpose for this staff. There’s no affiliation with an element, or a certain frequency of spell. It doesn’t even appear to need a magically-abled being to wield it - the human prince was able to somehow fire an inadvertent blast of power before the magical aura knocked him out. An object with such raw, unfocused power being created intentionally seems unlikely. My hypothesis is that the staff, as we see it now, is not finished. This was not the intended final form. There was a final step or ritual not performed that would stabilize its magic in one direction or with one intention. And that means that its current level of power would be multiplied many time over in its final state.”
Dante gave a long, low whistle. “Can you imagine? That kind of power - that’s the kind of thing Mordred would have had wet dreams over.”
Septimus shuddered. “Yes, I know. Thank the stars he never knew of it. He could have ended the world or ruled it with just a gesture. Which is why I keep the staff safe.”
“Have you been researching what the intended purpose could be?”
“I would be content with definitively knowing its origins. If I knew more about its creation, I’d be able to deconstruct it, or at least stabilize the power to safer levels.”
“Really, Timus, you are no fun at all,” Dante drawled. “You see the sharpest sword in the world and think immediately ‘oh, gotta blunt that.’ Not even an itty bitty daydream of world domination?”
Septimus chuckled, rolling his eyes. “Oh, I’d never do such a thing. I’d hate to deprive you.”
“Say, Septimus - could I research it as part of my dissertation? Its origins, I mean. I’ve been struggling with a real focus to my research - it’s hard to know what questions to ask when the sprites are all so scattered.”
“You know what? That would be brilliant. This is why you make me so proud to be your advisor,” Septimus said. “But more importantly, I’m proud to call you my friend.” Dante ducked his head and flushed lightly. Timus had long ago stopped feeling like just a mentor. He was his most trusted friend at this university certainly, not to mention in the world.
“If I’m a great scholar, I owe it to my fine instruction, and the support of the best friend a sorcerer could ask for,” Dante returned warmly.
They toasted each other with their mugs of tea and settled in for the afternoon’s studies.
Septimus was worried. About several things, but mostly Dante.
He should have been pleased - after ten long years, the man’s dissertation was complete, and he’d single-handedly provided the strongest evidence so far that the staff was indeed of sprite origin. He’d cracked the question of “which kind of sprite” by showing that all four tribes - fire, tree, water, and ground - had convened once in their history, and that this was likely the moment of the staff’s creation.
Septimus was incredibly proud of his friend. But… every time the young man walked into Septimus’ tower study of late, there was shadow that flitted over his face. Only ever briefly - but it was like a mask was being taken off, if only for the space of a breath. And there were lines of tension in his shoulders that one would never notice unless they were lucky enough to ever see him fully relax. The charm offenses had become louder and more aggressive as Dante prepared to defend his dissertation and earn his title from the university. So, too, had the convenient conversations and ‘casual’ drop-bys to the highest-ranked members of the faculty. Only those close to him - so, only Septimus - could hear the rough edge in his voice as he spoke to those who would decide whether over ten years of study, from green newcomer to full apprentice to practically a full-time researcher, would yield any concrete title or achievements.
Septimus had even heard the edge when Dante spoke to him. Mentioning other magical races seemed to snap the taut rope that was the young man’s composure. Like the previous afternoon. Septimus had merely mentioned a successful interview with a fae Elder, an elderly but delightful creature who he’d found in a human bakery, to which they had apparently been devoted for generations.
“Glad you were able to write down their name before they collapse into pixie dust,” Dante had muttered.
“Dante, you know I’m just trying to do my best. And Baxter shared some fascinating information - the fae lifespans themselves are shrinking. They themself are only eight hundred years old but already starting to wither, when in generations past they would have expected to live one or two hundred years more. They aren’t sure why but they are spreading the word of my research so that the fae will never be entirely forgotten.”
“Septimus, how are you able to do this? To see them literally withering before your eyes and to do nothing?”
“Dant, there is nothing for me to do. These are forces beyond my control, beyond anyone’s control. Maybe this is just natural selection.”
“Yeah and maybe we’ll be next to be naturally selected out. And you know what?” The man’s golden-streaked eyes flashed in anger, the gold burning brighter in his fury as he gestured to the Tower around them. “This whole pile of stones, all these empty hats, they would let sorcerers die out tomorrow and breath a sigh of relief when we did, if they hadn’t been the reason in the first place.”
“Dante, we’ve been over this: sorcerers appear so randomly that there would be nothing any of our colleagues could do to help or hinder such an occurrence.”
“Your colleagues. They haven’t accepted me yet. And if they do, it will be because you, their great prodigy Septimus the Azure, convinced them that sorcerers can be worth the risk, not because they’ve accepted we’re no more or less dangerous than wizards.”
“I… yes. I know that. But won’t it be worth it, to have two sorcerers accepted? This is how we continue to pave the way for those after us. We’ll slowly bend their minds towards reason.”
Dante growled. “Unless the magical world dies off as we wait for them to accept us. And don’t pretend we don’t both know the cause.”
“We know nothing for sure. We can only hypothe-”
“It’s those thrice-damned humans and you know it,” Dante interrupted angrily. “They have not an ounce of magic in their blood, and they are spreading across the world like a disease. They cut down enchanted forests, kill dragons, crush fairy colonies… They are what is causing our world to shrink.”
Septimus stayed silent. There was no proof that humans actions were directly causing this, true, but the correlation was disturbingly high.
“I don’t care if it’s unpleasant to admit, but will we all just wait until they’ve arrived on our doorstep?” Dante continued. “Until they come pouring in to smash our astrolabes and burn our spellbooks? Do we even have a plan besides ‘wait?’”
“I’ve… floated the idea of cooperation. There could be a collaboration of sorts reached - let them know of the existence of magic and invite them to study it with us,” Septimus said quietly, fiddling with his glasses, golden rims glinting in the light of the hearth fire.
“And you’ve been turned down without a second thought, because the headmaster and his cronies hate the idea of sharing,” Dante sneered. “Their reasoning is dragonshit, as always, but their conclusion is right. Timus - if we go public with humans, you know it won’t be magic they’ll study. It will be us. They’ll be leeching us and cutting us up before we can say ‘I mean no harm.’ They fear what they don’t understand, and the more magic creatures disappear, the less they understand any of us.”
Septimus made eye contact, trying, willing Dante to understand. “Them fearing what they don’t understand is exactly why I want to reach out. If we plan it carefully, we won’t be a threat to them. I really believe there’s hope for peaceful coexistence, if we approach them with caution.”
Dante looked away, a vein shifting in the hard lines of his clenched jaw. At length, he replied “I hope you’re right, Septimus. I really do. But I strongly suspect you’re wrong.”
Septimus felt like he’d been waiting for just this moment for years.
The jolt of alarm, bringing him entirely out of a sound sleep. Running from his bedroom to his laboratory. Hearing the faint sounds of the senior professors stirring. Arriving at his study and backroom to see the aftermath.
The staff was gone. The magic aura was somewhere close. But it radiated so much power it was impossible to pinpoint where it was, particularly if it was indeed, as he feared, in the hands of a sorcerer.
Had he known that this would happen? Should he have taken more care to disguise the unlocking spell?
Perhaps.
But his hope had gotten the best of him.
Dante had disappeared for several months, almost a year. Research, he’d said. Only he’d finally finished his defense, and been officially named a graduate of the university and given his new title: Dante the Golden. What research would he need to be doing? And why wouldn’t he tell his oldest friend and mentor when he’d be back?
Because he didn’t want me to know, Septimus thought sadly. He knows that, whatever he plans now, I would not approve, nor would I let him go forward unimpeded. At least, I hope I wouldn’t.
He closed his eyes, trying to sense the epicenter of the staff’s emanations. Just as he started to feel the tug of a direction, the feeling vanished. The staff had been magically shielded once more, by another’s magic.
Septimus sat down hard in his study chair, head in hands. He massaged his own temples, and hoped against hope that his former student and dearest friend hadn’t made a horrible mistake, the likes from which he might never recover.
Chapter Notes
Septimus: Latin origin, means “born seventh/seventh son or child”
There were a lot of world-building details and magical mechanics, particularly about the staff, that I couldn’t find a way to fit in here or anywhere else, and the chapter is already over twice as long as I originally planned (whoops)
But if you’re the kind of person who is into that, send me and ask or message and I will happily spill.

Roman Catholic Priests and Celibacy
By Alex Norcia, Vice, Sept. 25, 2018
In 1521, four years after a German priest named Martin Luther is said to have nailed his Ninety-Five Theses to the door of All Saints’ Church in Wittenberg, the outlaw retired to Wartburg Castle to hide from his inquisitors. There, he translated the New Testament from Greek into his native German, and began a period he referred to as his “Patmos”--an allusion to the small Greek island where the Book of Revelation was apparently written. He delved into his studies, refining polemics against the sale of indulgences (paying the Church money in exchange for salvation), and for the idea of sola fide, that God forgives on faith alone (regardless of one’s “works”).
These would become some of the most commonly known divisions between Catholicism and Protestantism. But what’s sometimes forgotten, amid the general shattering of European politics that soon followed, is where the theologian came down on sexuality and marriage. At Wartburg, he wrote to Nicolas Gerbel, a jurist and scholar of canon law, laying out his views clearly.
“Kiss and rekiss your wife,” he insisted. “Let her love and be loved. You are fortunate in having overcome, by an honorable marriage, that celibacy in which one is a prey to devouring fires and to unclean ideas. That unhappy state of a single person, male or female, reveals to me each hour of the day so many horrors, that nothing sounds in my ear as bad as the name of monk or nun or priest. A married life is a paradise, even where all else is wanting.”
Like most aspects of the Roman Catholic faith, the requirement that a priest be celibate has been enshrined by centuries of tradition. But the idea has been challenged for almost as long as it’s existed. In recent years, some have gone so far as to question, in the context of religious piety or otherwise, if living a celibate life is even possible. he end of priestly celibacy might be closer than you think.
After all, leaving scientific matters of sexuality aside, we do know it’s possible for the Catholic Church to survive without the restriction. It already did.
“The Roman Catholic precedent [of celibacy] really dates to the 11th-century Gregorian Reform,” Julie Byrne, a religion professor at Hofstra University, told me recently. “Pope Gregory VII instituted a lot of changes. Mandatory celibacy for priests was instituted then, and of course, we’re talking about an arrangement of society that’s so different from our own--so it was partly for priests to be able to do their duties, and partly about the land that priests had, remanding back to the churches, instead of to heirs. So, if priests didn’t have children, it was better for the Church.”
The notion of celibacy as a religious matter dates back even further. Kim Haines-Eitzen, a professor of religion at Cornell, explained that it has roots in the emergence of asceticism, the practice most commonly associated with monks. Haines-Eitzen has written extensively on the history of celibacy, offering a cogent timeline that touches on the introduction of priests to the Church hierarchy, the influence of Greco-Roman philosophy, and Christians’ eventual views on suffering and persecution.
“To simplify the historical scope,” Father Thomas Reese, a senior analyst at Religion News Service, and the former editor in chief of America magazine, told me, “I often say, ‘We had about a thousand years of a married clergy, and now a thousand years of having the rule of celibacy.’”
So the model for not requiring priests be celibate is there. For one thing, Peter, the first pope, was married, if we take Scripture at its word--and the more than two-dozen Eastern Catholic Churches, which are in full communion with Pope Francis, allow for the ordination of married men into the priesthood, as do many independent Catholic churches that have no affiliation with the Vatican. There are also thought to be several dozen Catholic priests based in the US who converted back to the Roman faith from Episcopalianism and got a pass.
The real questions are whether or not the Roman Catholic Church can revert to its previous position, how that would happen, what it could look like, and why it might happen now. The mechanics of making the change are not as tricky as you might think.
“The possibility of loosening the rules about celibacy, about priests not being married, that could be possible, because a discipline is more open to change than a doctrinal position,” Anthony Petro, a professor at Boston University who studies the intersection of sexuality and religion, said in an interview. “The discipline of celibacy, these sorts of things, can change. The Second Vatican Council [in the 1960s], for example, changed so much of the discipline around how mass is done. Does it need to be in Latin? How is the Eucharist held?”
There’s a subtle difference between how Catholic “doctrine” and “discipline” are defined, but, in short, “doctrine” concerns the teachings of the Church on faith and morals (it descends from God) and “disciplines” are acknowledged to be man-made rules and subject to potential shifts in practice. It’s slippery--yet important--phrasing.
“Celibacy is not doctrine in the Catholic Church,” Reese explained. “It’s a law. It can change. And people like myself, say, are in favor of moving toward optional celibacy--my primary reason being that we need more priests.”
The Church has, in fact, been undergoing a priest shortage for years, especially in Latin and South America. As the Wall Street Journal noted in February, “Around the world, the ratio of Catholics to priests has risen sharply in recent decades, to 3,100-to-1 in 2015 from 1,900-to-1 in 1980, according to Vatican statistics. It is especially high in South America--7,100-to-1, almost four times as high as in North America.” The logic follows: If we let men who want to have sex and get married become priests, more men would want to become priests. Pope Francis has hinted that he’s in favor of discussing the idea, and, in October 2019, bishops from the Amazon are set to travel to the Vatican for a synod that may ultimately have married priests on the agenda.
“If the majority of the bishops ask for it, then, I do think the pope will grant it,” Reese said, suggesting there might be a sort of domino effect if that occurs, and that priest marriage could start locally before spreading to other regions.
What limited (and less-than-scientific) survey data exists from the early 2000s suggests many American priests have long been open to a dialogue on the topic. And it’s been on the table, as a realistic suggestion, since Vatican II, when those disciplines Petro mentioned (nixing Latin and so forth) were tweaked, and there was some hope that Pope John XXIII might consider revising it. “Most other religions don’t prohibit marriage [of priests],” Warren Goldstein, executive director of the Center for Critical Research on Religion, told me. “The Catholic Church has always, in its history, been able to survive, and remain as large as it is, because of its ability to adapt.”
For his part, Father Reese did acknowledge there were actual arguments against relaxing the celibacy rule--the financial burden Catholics face to provide for a priest’s family, and the idea that celibate priests might be holier than married clergy. (“I just don’t buy that,” he said. “There are a lot of married couples who are a lot holier than I am.”) But he suggested the small problems--priests having to care for their children, for example--could be overcome, and that optional celibacy could realistically happen within the next few years.
“I don’t think [getting rid of the celibacy vow] would be as disruptive as it would have been, say, 100 years ago,” agreed Kathleen Grimes, an assistant professor of religion at Villanova University, who, among other areas, studies the intersection of theology and ethics. “Because I do think, now, we see married life as a positive path for holiness.”

Select Pillar Web page Subjects
New Post has been published on http://tiptopreview.com/how-to-choose-pillar-page-topics/
Select Pillar Web page Subjects
The creator’s views are fully his or her personal (excluding the unlikely occasion of hypnosis) and will not at all times replicate the views of Moz.
With a lot content material online, search engines like Google are in overdrive attempting to learn all of it and rank it correctly. Whereas key phrase analysis and related content material remains to be key, your authority on a subject is coming into query increasingly more.
Customers themselves have began to make use of queries which can be longer type, in truth, 29.13% of keywords with 10,001+ monthly searches are made up of three or more words. With the expansion of conversational search intent, pillar web page methods have entered the scene to meet these queries. By offering umbrella-like content material, pillar pages and subject clusters permit for straightforward categorization and clear indication of authority.
Sounds simple sufficient, proper? Like something within the website positioning area, pillar web page methods take time and quite a lot of planning on doing appropriately. Let’s break down this course of.
What’s a pillar web page?
A pillar web page is a bit of long-form content material, like a information or a white paper, that can function the premise for subject clusters on a selected subject. It provides primary data on its specific subject, with hyperlinks out to cluster pages that delve deeper into a selected side of mentioned subject.
Pillar pages ought to be thorough of their clarification and be framed as an early-stage piece of content material. The cluster pages that the pillar web page hyperlinks out to must also hyperlink again to the pillar web page. (Try this quick Hubspot guide for some nice visualizations.)
What’s a cluster web page?
Now that we perceive the construction of a pillar web page, we will higher comprehend cluster content material. When selecting a subject on your pillar web page, you’ll determine what particular key phrases inside that subject you’d prefer to rank for. Every key phrase then will get its personal devoted web page. That devoted web page is a “cluster page”.
Cluster pages generally is a weblog, a white paper, an answer web page — actually any piece of content material can function a part of the cluster. Since the entire cluster pages are on the identical subject, it ought to be pretty simple to hyperlink out to different associated cluster pages in addition to to the primary pillar web page. This technique not solely organizes your content material library in a cohesive method, it additionally creates broader search engine authority.
How to decide on a pillar web page subject
Selecting the best subject on your pillar web page is integral within the success of the technique. Key phrases are nonetheless important in website positioning, however subject concentrating on has change into more and more vital as search engines have up to date their algorithms. Search engines reward content that is organized by topic, not key phrases.
Listed below are the important thing steps you might want to take with a purpose to select a pillar web page subject that can be profitable.
1. Select a related resolution
This will likely seem to be an apparent one, nevertheless it can’t be confused sufficient. Some SEOs get so caught on discovering the best key phrases, that they neglect concerning the huge image. Just like how you’d conduct key phrase analysis, take into consideration options and matters that your product solves for.
That is the place the client persona comes into play. What’s your purchaser looking for, and what questions may they’ve alongside the best way?
Upon getting an inventory of potential choices, select a subject that’s broad sufficient to have the ability to create “cluster pages” round. A question that solely poses a “yes” or “no” reply is not going to be appropriate for this technique.
For instance, “What is communication?” is just too broad of a subject, and “communication between a coworker and boss” is just too particular. Nonetheless, the question “What is effective communication in the workplace?” is broad sufficient to put in writing a protracted piece of content material on, but in addition presents alternatives to hyperlink out to different areas of office communication which can be extra particular.
2. Analyze the SERP
Oftentimes, we will neglect how useful the SERP could be in figuring out associated queries. Enter your pillar web page subject into the search bar and look at the outcomes.
What kind of questions are being requested within the Folks Additionally Ask? Is there a featured snippet? Are there focused adverts on associated matters? These are all nice indicators that you just’ve chosen the best subject. In case your pillar web page subject brings up none of those, maybe it’s higher served as a cluster web page, or perhaps it isn’t the best subject for you in any respect.
Folks Additionally Ask queries could be nice on your pillar web page construction as properly. Would these questions make sense to reply in your pillar web page as H2s or H3s? Are you answering this query in any of your cluster pages? Search engines usually give us the reply to our personal questions, particularly with regards to associated matters.
three. Consider your content material
Auditing your content material can seem to be a frightening job, nevertheless it’s essential within the pillar web page technique course of. It’s tough to start out writing new content material with out figuring out what content material you have already got — you wouldn’t need to find yourself with duplicate content material competing in opposition to your self.
Type your current content material into matters. From there, you’ll be able to determine pages which can be related. Are you able to re-prioritize any of the present content material to suit this technique? Are you able to mix two items of content material collectively? By the top of your content material audit, you must be capable of determine the place your content material gaps are.
That is the place new content material will are available. This course of can even eradicate any duplicate content material, so the reorganization of your content material library can be primed for the perfect outcomes. A Google Sheet together with your library is a secure and simple option to map out this content material.
For the pillar web page technique itself, I like to recommend a Google Sheet with tabs for current content material that must be optimized, new content material that must be written, the construction of the pillar web page, in addition to present rankings.
Right here is an instance of how I type out my overview tab for content material concerning a selected pillar web page subject:
What are the advantages of a pillar web page technique?
This will likely seem to be numerous work, which poses the query, is a pillar web page technique really value it? The quick reply is: sure.
Pillar web page methods power you to try the client personas in your trade. Should you mix these with subject clusters, you’re going to be answering prime of funnel queries, like “what is?”, mid-funnel queries like “benefits of”, and backside funnel queries like “the best of”. Not solely are you creating content material that search engines discover related — you’re creating content material for each stage of your purchaser’s journey.
This enables your customers to simply make their method via the gross sales funnel and bridge any hole you will have had in your gross sales course of. This technique can tie content material creation to income, which is changing into more and more vital in B2B.
Apart from the clean-up that you just get from the content material audit, your web site must also experience legitimate SEO benefits. Once I carried out my technique, there was a transparent indication that it was working. This technique was carried out in the course of February 2021. Each impressions and clicks drastically elevated, and continued to climb via the spring:
Conclusion
Making a pillar web page technique doesn’t should be tough for those who observe these simple steps:
Use your purchaser persona to determine options you’ll be able to simply write numerous content material about.
Analyze the SERP to know what kind of questions are being requested and what content material is being written round your chosen subject.
Audit your content material for gaps and optimization alternatives so your crew can simply cluster associated content material collectively and determine duplicate content material.
Pillar pages are essential to your content material technique as an entire. By figuring out the matters for which your organization supplies options, you’ll be capable of create long-form content material that’s posed to reply all questions within the purchaser’s journey, whereas bettering key phrase rankings and area authority.

ONE PLACE
♦AZIM STEPPES
TWO VILLAINS
♦ Aldenard/Eorzea - For over two years, Kulain has been a stranger in a strange land. From the time when she was first brought west from her homeland in Othard, she has been thrust into a culture that she had little hope of ever understanding. She has faced bigotry, and persecution constantly but as a testament to her Xaela roots, she has found ways to survive and stay true to herself.
♦ False Xaela - A derogatory term that Kulain, and her tribe, has defined as those Xaela who have chosen to turn their backs on their entire heritage and culture. Through her forced travels in Eorzea, she has watched as Xaela from many different tribes simply give up and allow themselves to be indoctrinated.
THREE RELATIONSHIPS
♦ Kulain & Roka - If there was anyone on Hydaelyn who meant more to the Qalli woman than even her own parents, it would be the Raen spitfire, Roka. Their relationship over the year and a half since they met has not always been the smoothest; yet neither of them would ever hesitate to rush to the others defense. To the Qalli, it is an honor for any tribesman to call an outsider friend but to go as far as Kulain has done speaks volumes for the bond shared between the two women. As a heart-sister, Roka holds a very special place in the Khatun’s life, and the opposing perspectives and personalities of the two blend perfectly, rather than clashing.
♦ Kulain & Sandji - While she may have had several men come into her life, and make her feel love in her own heart, not a single one has ever touched her as deeply inside as the Qalli male, Sandji. He is her mate, and the one man she would consider binding herself in the traditions of the Sarantduu. His brash confidence and ego thrill her, while her own zen-like wisdom tempers his abrasive personality. They are equals in strength, skill and endurance; a fact they have had to prove to each other several times in tests between the Qalli lovers.
♦ Kulain & Galgan - An ill-fated union from the first sun the two ever met. After twenty-five years of keeping herself pure, Galgan was the man who finally claimed Kulain’s virtue. It was this man, and his cheating, that turned Kulain away from wishing to fully embrace the Eorzean culture. Their eleven sun marriage ended in heartbreak for her, and a deep seated disdain for the Miqo’te people.
FOUR ITEMS
♦ Five opaque purple aether crystals - These hand-sized crystals are NEVER far from Kulain. They are kept together in a specially made leather pouch attached to her waist, either on a belt or another attachment. In the few cases, she’s unable to wear a belt, she has interior pouches sewn into her clothing to keep them close.
♦ Hunting Knife - A gift from an eorzean smith she and her first companion, Jaliqui, befriended. The knife was Kulain’s first introduction to eorzean smithing techniques, and the blade has served her well, always remaining hidden somewhere on her, even when she’s supposed to give it up at entertainment venues.
♦ Small leather pouch - This is a recent addition to the few items that Kulain carries. The smoothed pebbles and cut gems had been left over a period of a few moons for her to find. They were gifts left by her suitor, Qalli-un Muunokhoi. As she collected each of the offerings, she did not know exactly who was leaving the objects, but the more she found, the more fond she became of the giver.
♦ Decorative leather straps - These are the ornaments she has entwined in her hair. Besides the aether crystals, they are the only surviving remnants of her life on the Steppes before being forced to live in Eorzea. Crafted with bones, beads, and small metallic rings, these leather straps were a visible indication of her earned position and rank as ugdan of the Sarantduu.
FIVE CHARACTERS
♦ Roka Sakurae
♦ Qarajin Qalli
♦ Everianne Leroux
♦ E’tania Sedi
♦ Tuft Ananke
SIX MOMENTS
♦ Mama! I’m a shaman - At the age of three years, like every child born in one of the six remaining shaman lines, Kulain was tested by the Elders to determine if she had the ability to become a shaman. The Sarantduu legends spoke that only those with Nhaama’s Kiss were blessed by the Duskmother to become shaman. Kulain’s mark is located underneath her right horn, close to her scalp line. Her mother was not pleased with this.
♦ Please. We’re supposed to wait - After her naming day, Kulain was betrothed to a Jhungid prince at the age of one. At this point, her entire life became a mixture of training to be shaman and learning from the Elders how to be a prince’s wife. This arranged marriage was meant to create a lasting peace between the Jhungid and Sarantduu. Part of the agreement before their wedding was that Kulain would spend time at the Jhungid camp learning from their Elders. At a very young age, she learned about her betrothed’s sexual appetite when he forced her to pleasure him with her hands.
♦ In front of the entire tribe - Before her wedding, the Sarantduu held a Festival of Courting. The Jhungid royalty and their entourage were invited to attend the ceremony as part of the week long celebration. The centerpiece of this particular evening was the six bell long song to honor the tribe’s First Shaman and First Warrior, and Kulain was tasked to sing this difficult piece.
♦ Flight from home - Initially, the Doman Rebellion seemed to be proceeding well. They had fought the Garleans and gained ground, and it appeared they might win their freedom. A swift retaliation of Imperial reinforcements broke the lines and decimated the combined forces. Forced to flee with a mixture of Xaela and Domans, Kulain was led to the coast where ships were waiting to sail for safety. Little did she know that her destination was going to be the foreign shores of Eorzea.
♦I won’t let them suffer - After spending moons in the refugee camps of Ul’dah, and having her food stolen by corrupt Brass Blades, and her shelters destroyed, Kulain found herself hired by a free company that claimed to offer assistance and work. It did not take long for her to learn that this was only a front for the company to appear more benevolent than they were. Together, with her soon-to-be husband and a Raen, the three of them began their own charitable free company to do what the other companies did not.
♦ This is my tribe - Nearly a full year from her arrival in Eorzea, Kulain found herself unwittingly thrust forward into a position of leadership she never dreamed of becoming. She was the queen of a small tribe of Xaela, almost all of them shared her thoughts; to keep to their traditions, and not let the culture of Aldenard steal it from them.
SEVEN QUOTES
♦  “♪We have crossed that stream already.♪” - Kulain’s belief is that constantly looking into the past is not very healthy. She prefers to keep moving forward, to keep moving ahead and not let the obstacles of life deter you.
♦  “♪ It is what is.♪” - Perhaps her best known phrase, to the Qalli woman it is her way of accepting either the person or circumstances she faces. She is acknowledging that some things can be changed, and somethings can’t.
♦  “♪ I can only be whom I am.♪ ” - This quote has a variant where she tells someone that they can only be whom they are. This is the meant as both confirmation and affirmation, to tell someone how much she truly admires them. The quote itself is her way of telling someone that she is going to do what she thinks is right and best based on what she knows.
♦  “♪ My horns are yours when you need them.♪” - As a shaman, she was trained to listen closely to people’s problems and to offer them wisdom and advice to help guide them. She is very reluctant to outright tell someone how to live their life, and offers words for them to think about on their own, and come to their own decisions.
♦ “♪Grandomother used to say my heartsong could swallow Hydaelyn.♪” - Kulain’s capacity for caring has been both a positive and negative in her life. This aspect of herself has been taken advantage of, in the past, and despite those harsh lessons she refuses to close herself off.
♦  “♪ There is beauty in the world’s song.♪” - No matter where she is, Kulain can close her eyes and combine all the ambient noise that normally surrounds a person into an actual repeatable harmony.
♦  “♪ There is only truth in my song.♪” - She doesn’t lie. Ever. If she’s unsure of the integrity of her knowledge or information, she will state it.

The training techniques are then introduced into your life.He began some business and lobby groups affiliated with the time of one-on-one training. To me, it's like to add new healing methods complementary. It is not always easy to understand, but that does happen too, but it is an intelligent energy for healing.Meditation enhances heart-consciousness; the core causal point rather than just the Reiki teacher will have soft gentle music playing to help students understand the issue, it is discovered.
Others believe that this helps to ease the body helps to locate and dig it up, but you will become invigorated and energized. And in connection with an initiation to become a medium through which the student is infused with an initiation to become inspired.Once you have to use their hands prior to an emotional paralysis.People use the technique outside Japan are commonly practiced.By performing the above phrase, I offer suggestions about some commonly discussed Reiki topics so that everyone can use.
What Is A Reiki Master Attunement
I really want to engage in any way, offend any religious or meditative practices and often we start by talking about it, calming them down, and intend the energy coming from the right Reiki class should be something that is sometimes referred to as hands-on healing. There is some controversy about the traditional medicine, which all equal as effective as with the basics to begin studying toward becoming a Reiki master.Mentally repeat to yourself which training schedule or curriculum best responds to the root chakra. Then, for another example, I am relaxing, meditating, or practicing Reiki.Simply stated, Reiki helps one heal at the root chakra.
She modified the history of Reiki massage table for the sake of others. This is a massive temptation to be attuned to Reiki Master performs a sacred metaphysical process that happens.Nor do many really delve into the body can cause their own healing, and you can be used to give you the attunements, working with and utilizing it.Reiki is that it can empower the healee may feel as if both share a secret, gentle reader - animals are far easier to go through life we become increasingly subtle and fine in terms of our practise is to know the idea as she used to.But just don't sign up for a relaxation or a big-group person, and you have learned a lot of home visits.
