I can't believe it's been 6 months since Oprah. I can't believe it's been 3 years since her wedding. I can't believe it's been weeks since their new kid was born. I think SW and Yona are shadow of each other,they reflect the defects and merits of one and the other,so i bellieve Sw made the same travel of yona to find out kouka,helping people and trying to put right dad's actions,in the end he understood he can't save everyone i can choose just lesser evil. I love yona but she acted like spoiled and irresponsible ;i know she wants save his friends but she can realy trust tao? She really understand the weight of her actions on Kouka

I think you are right  that Yona and Soo Won share a bond, that doesn t just exist because there are childhood friends.

One uses the means of the gods, the other flatly rejects them and places his hopes on people.

Yona concentrates her actions more on people, Soo Won thinks more of the whole country.

Yona had to face her father s wrongdoings, did Soo Won also reflect this or does he just blindly follow Yu hon s shadow?

I think that Soo Won also had to think about certain issues...I think you can see than during his coronation, where he tells himself not to doubt anymore. He also knew he had to let go off Yona and Hak when he wanted to achieve his goal.

It could be that he  visited some places and informed himself, but there is no hint that he traveled all around Kouka...So we have to wait to confirm any guesses.

YEAH SERIOUSLY! its so hard to reconcile their general goofyness with the lake destruction and that one npc in the graveyard area who says his clefairy was outright killed trying to defend him from galactic grunts. Like seriously, galactic grunts were the most incompetant loveable goons we ever got before team skull!

I think it works really well to show how much of a disconnect there is between the good goal that 90% of the grunts believe their team is doing, and what the team is actually planning. This is why i think the "daft codger" grunt is kinda important, the dude with the bomb. Cos he's still humourous but he's also the first objectively evil grunt we ever see, a dude laughing about bombing a nature preserve and leaving a bunch of injured fish and terrified bystanders! Before this you only got hints of the team being more evil and also more competant than they seemed. And now this guy quite literally shakes up your whole perception of how the plot is gonna play out! I hate fuckin bomb grunt more than anyone else in the whole series...

And then what's EVEN BETTER is that after this you go straight back to universally sympathetic/misguided/goofy huggable grunts. And you learn that the boss's goals legitimately ARE good! Yet despite all this it ends up being even more dark and tense than it would have if everyone was really like Bomb Grunt. The sympathetic underlings are shown discovering what they accidentally helped create, and being horrified at their own sins. And the boss is legitimately "good" but also legitimately is manipulating his grunts and keeping them in the dark about his true plans. And his good motivations have been so warped into madness that he bellieves any sacrifice is justified in the name of creating a better world. And he's given up on life so much that he can't even hope for a happy ending any more, he thinks his only option is to erase all emotion and live in a void of essentially undeath. And he's just too far gone and you can't save him, and he walks off into that void alone to damn himself for all eternity. And then you see his sympathetic grunts left trying to pick up the pieces...

Like MAN, sinnoh didnt have to go this hard! I attribute this to the entire reason why Unova seemed merely "average" to me. I feel like i was spoiled by Cyrus's complexity and Ghetsis's moral black and white nature (lol) was kinda shitty in comparison. Like seriousky they raise a cool debate subject and then DONT DEBATE IT, instead the boss is just Straight Up Evil and was lying about beleiving all that stuff. And we barely even get to see sympathetic grunts who genuinely believed his message, they establish RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING WITH THE FIRST ENCOUNTER that the grunts are all munna-kicking assholes who also dont believe what they're saying. Boo! No wonder everyone loves N, he's like the only person allowed to have moral complexity! And even then he's just "good guy who was tricked into believing bad stuff by a worse villain" and he changes his mind and adopts your philosophy by the end of the game.

I just feel like maybe game freak accidentally blew this idea too soon? Like seriously everything about Cyrus's plot would have resonated even more as the boss of team plasma. And all the atmosphere of the grunts going from good guys goofily believing an obvious lie to REALLY SAD AND GENUINE DEPICTIONS OF SCIENTISTS CRYING AT THE SIGHT OF LEGENDARY POKEMON IN TEST TUBES. And then the boss being sympathetic but also intimidating and a genuine threat because his good motivations have nonetheless led to a world-threatening misconception about how to make things better. Like really there's no reason that was connected to a space team except to make some vague links to discussing renewable energy and dna and dimensional voids and all the stuff pokemon already has its science characters blabber about in every generation anyway. Kinda might have resonated more with a team themed around emotional connections with pokemon and the morality of fighting. Or even with teamm flare actually? There's a reason i call Lysandre a Discount Cyrus! (Which is ironic since he's the more expensive one,lol) i mean they have very similar stated motivations but its kinda hard to believe that lysandre ever had any sympathetic reason for anything he does when the way he enacts those plans is just so straight up evil and selfish on top of that. And his "sympathetic reason" is just "but beautiful things and moneyyyy" and the way they explain this in his introduction is by him being an asshole to a 40-something actress and saying "oh boo you used to be hotter". Seriously that scene did a better job making me instantly hate him more than even ghetsis! Later scenes did kinda establish him better as a failed attempt to make a sympathetic villain but still..dick move, dude. Also diantha is a bamf for how she shuts him down completely!

...wow i went way offtopic. Anyway this is why the Sad Magikarp Scene is super effective and Other Related Sinnoh Feels. *clenches fist* Lovv them spacemen!
