tw: death joke, worms (maybe?)
lots of Writing between Messages!!
🪡Chapter Twenty-seven: Fixing him
“Megumi,”
“hm?”
“Are you okay?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” you didn’t notice it , but he tightened his grip on the wheel, his other hand that was by his side he used to pinch the fabric of his pants.
“You just seem quiet, what’s on your mind?”
“Nothing, but you never told me where we were going.”
“Oh right!” to be honest you had completely forgotten you hadn’t told him, and you did promise you’d say where the morning of. “It’s a little book cafe! My friend recommended it to me, I thought it seemed fitting.”
“So, you’ve been here before with them?” he questioned. “Nope, we can try it out together.” He smiled a little, and you did notice that, happy to at least get a little more emotion out of him.
“Hi! Welcome in,” A girl with a short brown bob looked up to you and Megumi walking in, adjusting herself at the front of the counter next to a bakery display waiting for you to approach.
“Hi,” you greeted back.
“Do you two need help with anything?”
“Not looking for anything particular, thank you though,” you answered, turning to look at Megumi only to see him already looking around the place, specifically staring off towards a shelf of books.
“Ok, well let me know if you need anything.”
You nodded as the girl went back to her previous task. There were only a couple of other people inside the place, probably less than ten. It was larger than you expected it to be from the outside exterior, but still very homey. You had just begun to take a few steps in, only for Megumi to grab your hand and lead the way.
“Look,” he said once stopping in front of a shelf, picking a book out and handing it to you. “One of my favorites.” You were a little taken aback, but just smiled looking at it, front and back, trying to figure out what it was. “How is your eyesight that good you saw this from the entrance?”
“Can you do that again?” You looked up, only to see him pull out a smaller camera from his jacket’s pocket. Smaller than the one you had seen him with before. How did you not notice he was carrying that?
“Uhm, okay,” and you repeated your action, feeling slightly strange, but at least he seemed more alive now.
“Thank you.” His smile at that moment was contagious, seeming genuinely happy.
“Was that just for you or for your project?” you asked, mirroring his expression.
“Do you want your hint for the day?”
“Yes please.” He leaned his camera towards you, showing you the four photos he took, “They are for the project,” he informed.
“What’s wrong with your loaf?”
“What?” Megumi looked up from his page, eyes wide full of confusion.
“The pastry you ordered, you took two bites and haven’t touched it since.” You had been watching Megumi for the past thirty minutes he’s been sitting across from you. Although you both originally started with conversation that had slowly filed down into you guys reading what you had chosen. You thought back to what Nobara had said over text and couldn’t help but think maybe she was right. He’d probably be happy if you had just taken him outside then given him a book.
“Oh,” he looked down next to him, starring at the piece of bread on the small plate, “It’s just.. too sweet.”
“Too sweet?”
He looked back up at you, shrugging before picking up his mug taking a sip of his dark coffee. “I’m not really a fan of sweets.” He placed the cup back down, then went back to reading.
“You’re such an interesting man Megumi.”
“Really?” he questioned looking back up to you.
“You’re interesting to me.” He just looked at you, both of you making eye contact for a few seconds, and he failed to look away on time so you wouldn’t see the pink dusting his face. “Thanks I guess.”

a/n: thank you for sending this in!!! (so very very long ago) (desperately hope whoever sent this in is still around to read it or will stumble across it one day) (feel like it wasn't what you imagined in sending these prompts, but i tried!!!) takes place in part 6 (??) after the porch swing talk but before the goodbye. yes let’s go with that and sorry for any retcon
Rafe Cameron insists on walking you to your parents’ front door every time he drops you off. It’s second nature to you, now, to wait as he opens his truck’s passenger door and shuts it behind you once he’s helped you out, his hand outstretched for yours, which has hardly touched a door handle since you began dating. He’s a romantic, big on good-night kisses, and he’ll always wait until you’re inside before he so much as turns around to start walking back to his truck.
It took some getting used to, and you’d passed the point where you thought he might give it a rest. But that never happened, and you’d come to learn you want to expect nothing less—not from him or from any other guy you’d plan to get serious with, which was hardly a thought your mind could conjure these days.
How could it, when it was always taken up with remembering the names of songs you think he’d like, or reminding yourself to change out the water in the seemingly endless vases of flowers stationed on your desk, your dresser and your night table, or by reading books he’d recommend to you only after he’d finished them—after many sessions tucked together on a beach towel under the shade of an umbrella.
But maybe just this once, you really wish he was more like your ex-boyfriend back at college, the one who dropped you off at the end of your driveway and sped away more nights than he didn’t.
Of course, that just wouldn’t be your boyfriend Rafe Cameron.
“What do you think about the mainland tomorrow?” he asks, his hand at the small of your back, the two of you climbing the steps of your parents’ porch, slowly, drawing out the moments before goodbye.
“I think I love that idea,” you decide, smiling as you think about it.
“Let’s get the early boat,” he says. “Sarah told me about this new brunch spot.”
“I definitely trust her taste. She’s bougier than you,” you say, drawing away from him and toward the door, hand still connected to his.
“I’m not sure if I’m insulted by that,” Rafe says, pulling you back toward him before shifting his body to fit between you and the door, giving you no access to the knob. “But I am sure that I’m not ready for you to go inside yet.”
“You’re not?” you muse, slipping your arms up and around his neck.
About a month ago, you’d be concerned about your giddiness for him being written all over your face. But Rafe’s cheeks were almost permanently tinged pink in your presence, and it only has the effect of making you want him more.
“This dress is insane,” he says, leaning in for a peck only after his eyes sweep up your frame the way they had been doing all night. “You gonna leave your window open for me tonight?”
“Might close it early,” you shrug, pretending to ponder on it.
But Rafe is having none of it, lips catching yours in a way that should embarrass you when you know your dad’s home office has a street-facing window. “Really?”
“Y’know, gotta catch that early ferry and all.”
“What time should I come?” he murmurs against your lips, his arms constricting impossibly tighter around your waist. “Or we can skip brunch. Actually, fuck brunch and forget I said anything.”
“I’ll text you,” you say. “Alright? Just hang on a bit.”
“I’ll try,” he sighs, dropping one more kiss to your forehead as you reluctantly step away. “But no sweat. Get some sleep if you need to, sweetheart.”
The front door flies open just as you’re making to push it in, your mother’s excited face appearing before you. Never in the history of the world has that been a good sign.
“I thought that was you two!” she says. “Rafe, a pleasure as always.”
“You as well, Mrs. Y/l/n. I was just going.”
“Nonsense,” she says, before turning to you. “Y/n, your grandparents are here.”
You blink. “Why?”
She glances between you and Rafe, still exuberant, ignoring your question completely. “Have him come in and meet them, will you? They’ll be so excited.”
Your head is spinning, but you feel Rafe’s hand slip into yours, and you give him a squeeze for reassurance. For who, you aren’t sure. “Mom—sorry, when did they get here? I wouldn’t have went out tonight if I knew.”
“They surprised us. Now surprise them back,” she urges, turning before you answer, heels click-clacking across the foyer. She glances over her shoulder, one last enticement. “Peach pie.”
You turn to Rafe, sighing with your face immediately buried into his chest.
His laugh reverberates. “C’mon, baby girl.”
“You don’t have to come in. I promise,” you say.
“I want to. I promise,” he answers, shrugging. “As long as it’s alright with you, it’s alright with me. Your mom’s side, right?”
Your eyes widen, thinking about the alternative. “Yes. Jesus, if it was my dad’s, we’d be back down the road already.”
You sigh, trying to steel your nerves with your eyes shut tight. The door was still open—you needed to get in there sooner or later.
“Y/n,” Rafe says, your full name falling off of his tongue and invoking in your body an involuntary reaction. He was more keen on pet names, you’d noticed, and shortening your name to the one only your friends called you. “Are you alright?”
“I’m alright,” you confirm, taking him by the hand again as you both face the entryway. Your far hand reaches up to grab at the crook of his elbow, both of your hands gripping, but not too tight.
“Are you? What’s our signal?”
You feel your eyebrows knit. “Our signal?”
“Yeah. Y’know, like a code word or something when you need an out. You and Dylan don’t have one?”
You think back to previous holidays, the eye contact made at the table, the kicks in your shins and the heavier sips when you realize you’re on the same page—that it’s time to get just drunk enough to be able to handle this without tipping anyone off. “I think our signal might just be alcohol.”
“I’m not getting drunk in front of your dad.”
You roll your eyes. “I know.”
“What about Kelce?”
“What about him?” you ask. “We don’t have a signal either.”
“No, his name. The word. Just say ‘Kelce’ if you need me to dive bomb us out of the dining room,” he says.
You shake your head, still racking your brain and prolonging the inevitable. “That won’t work. My grandma loves talking about Kelce.”
“Huh,” Rafe says, incredulous, his mouth twisting. “Imagine that.”
“Sorry,” you wince, squeezing his hand again. “Sorry—she just. We’ve been friends for so long. That doesn’t matter. They’re gonna love you.”
“Just do that,” he says, like he’s already moved on. “Just squeeze my hand, baby.”
You look down at where your hand is clasped in his, giving another experimental squeeze and having it returned.
He nods, a question in his eyes. “Got it?”
“Got it,” you say with a grateful smile, leaning up to kiss his cheek. “And you do it, too. You know, if she does bring up Kelce and you can’t handle it. She still talks about his prom tux.”
“Too soon, Y/l/n,” he mutters, leading you over the threshold. “Too fuckin’ soon.”
—
“No more,” Rafe groans, his hand on his stomach. “I might explode.”
You eat the last bit of peach pie off the fork you’d been offering to him, the both of you giggling as he wipes a bit from the corner of your lips. The way he licks his thumb after has you grateful your grandparents are already halfway back home—you know Rafe wouldn’t come back over later if he knew your grandparents were spending the night.
“You realize she’ll show up at Thanksgiving with, like, three of those now?” you say, setting the fork on the plate he’s holding, which he quickly puts on the table beside the couch before he leans back.
“Let her. I’ll wear an elastic band.”
“A little presumptuous,” you say. “Thinking you’ll get an invite to my mother’s Thanksgiving dinner.”
Rafe looks temporarily affronted. “I—”
“M’joking, baby,” you say, kissing his cheek, legs thrown over his. “She’d kill me if I didn’t bring you. And now I think my grandparents would, too.”
“Cliff is chill as hell. I can’t believe your grandpa runs a nonprofit. That’s not very Figure 8 of him,” Rafe says.
You roll your eyes, burrowing your head into his chest all the same as he fails to hide any affinity, just as your grandmother had done with him. Appeasing the women in your family could never be further down on your list of priorities, especially when it came to your suitors. But you couldn’t help but feel something happy settle in your stomach, watching your mom exchange looks with her own mother as they watched Rafe.
“Maybe that’s why they moved.”
“I guess I’m surprised,” he admits. “Your mom… she’s so…”
“Figure 8?”
“Is that okay to say?”
“Yeah. She is,” you say. “It’s kinda engrained. But I think she likes it that way.”
“You’re not like that,” he says, his thumb dragging down your shoulder and back again. “What was your grandpa saying about a job next year?”
“Hm?” you say, snuggling down further into him, eyes starting to droop.
“I dunno,” he says quieter. “I thought Cliff was talking about you coming to work for him next year.”
You heard him correctly the first time, but you honestly hoped he’d drop it. “Yeah. Just newsletters, digital. Stuff like that.”
“That sounds cool,” he says, and you can hear him trying in vain to keep his voice even.
“He said I’d get my own office,” you admit. “And a title.”
Rafe perks up slightly. “Oh yeah?”
“Senior nepotism associate.”
“Get out of here,” he laughs, tugging on the strand of your hair that he’d been twirling around his finger, a bit of the tension breaking between you. “That shouldn’t bother you. And it figures that’s your bloodline. All those ocean cleanups you dragged us to.”
“Seem to remember you showing up to…” you trail off, counting on your hands. “1, 2… let’s see, all of them?”
He bats at your hands. “Alright, alright. Have you thought about it though?”
“A little,” you sigh, resigning yourself to the conversation you didn’t want to have. “I know a few of his employees. And I don’t think I’d mind working for him. Their mainland office isn’t a far walk from the ferry in. It’d be great, really.”
“But…” he pries, tugging on the strand again.
“But,” you sigh. “I don’t know. I still don’t wanna close myself off to the idea of staying in California. I love it there. I’m making ins with Agnes and her network, I know it.”
He nods, going quiet for a while as you both gaze out at the water. “It’s nice that you have options, though.”
You turn to him then, taking his far hand and holding it between yours, fiddling with the cigar band on his ring finger. “It’s a whole year away, Rafe.”
“I know,” he says, leaning in to kiss your forehead. “Hey, I know. I just don’t like thinking about being away from you.”
“Well we’re… Rafe, we’re gonna be apart,” you say. “At least for a year. And that doesn’t change how I feel about you.”
He nods again. “I guess... this summer, it’s just been easy to forget all of that. That I’m going to Georgia and you’re going to California, and you might not be coming back. But I am. And even though I know that... I don’t know what it says about me that I’m picturing having you here with me all the damn time.”
You’ve taken the time to picture it, too. It’s hard not to when most of the summer has been interrupted bliss, and you’ve been toying with the idea of coming back long before Rafe re-entered your picture.
“This is why I didn’t wanna talk about it,” you say morosely, beside yourself when you feel your tear ducts sting.
“Baby,” Rafe whispers. “Hey, baby. I’m sorry I brought it up. I just thought with how he was talking about it, I don’t know, it sounded like you were really considering it.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong, Rafe,” you tell him, willing your tears not to fall. But now that he’s onto you, that he’s reading the emotions in your eyes and feeling what’s weighing on your heart, it’s like your body decides it’s allowed to fall apart. You sniffle. “I don’t know what I’m considering. But I don’t like thinking about being away from you either.”
He thumbs away some tears, before looking back out across the horizon, the sky somehow almost an inky black color when it had just been lit up in hues of orange and pink minutes ago.
“Hate it when you do that,” he says, his arm dropping around your shoulders again.
“What?” you ask.
“Cry because of me.”
You don’t have anything to say to that, and if you tried to speak again you might completely lose it, so you settle for slipping your hand back into his, squeezing as tight as you can.
Because you know this isn’t the first—and certainly won’t be the last—time that you’ll cry over Rafe Cameron.

husband alex turner x wife reader
warnings: nun but fluff <3
<><><>
It’s been a while since you’ve last seen Alex. He’s been on tour for The Car for six months and have only seen him on a few occasions. You couldn’t go with him and the band due to work; you were forced to stay behind despite your attempts to go with them.
The last time you and Alex had seen each other was about two months ago. The only reason you were able to see him was for an interview he had in which you were invited to. He begged you to go with him even though you didn’t like doing so. Alex knows that. You’ve always hated being interviewed with him because it felt like the interviewers were trying to pry into your private relationship. What went on between Alex and you was for you two only, not for the public.
After a long day at work, you come home exhausted. You’re eager to shower, eat some dinner, and just relax. Who wouldn’t be? So when you get home, that’s exactly what you do. An “everything” shower was desperately needed after the week you’ve had.
Once done with your shower, you put on a comfy set of pajamas. A grey tank top and white sweats, perfect. You decide on some perfume, even though you won’t be around anyone for the rest of the night. You put on your Victoria’s Secret Bare roll-on perfume. It’s your favorite.
You finish getting dressed and make your way to the kitchen to make dinner. Deciding on what you’ve taken out, you make pollo guisado (chicken stew). It was one of your favorites. Mom always made it when you were younger.
After some time, you finish cooking and feast on it. Man, were you a damn good cook. One good meal later, you settle in your queen sized bed that you shared with Alex. You miss him. You miss his warm body cuddling. You miss his soothing voice.
You soon dwell no more on that, as you were almost on the brink of tears. You pick up your book that you were currently reading on the nightstand, How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents. So far, you are greatly enjoying the book. You like analyzing it as well as it being somewhat relatable.
***
It’s 11:18 PM, about an hour and a half since you started reading. You need to get some sleep since you have work all over again tomorrow. Luckily though, tomorrow is Friday. Wonderful.
You put your book back and settle in bed. You can feel sleepiness sinking you deeper and deeper. Reveling in the feeling, you eventually fall asleep.
Suddenly, you feel something envelop around you. You wake up, anxiety beginning to course through you. Just as you are about to panic, you hear a voice whisper in your ear.
“I’ve missed you, love.” You’d recognize that voice anywhere. It’s Alex.
Turning around, you take a good look at your husband whom you haven’t seen for two months. He greets you with a smile, his hair as messy as you remember.
“Alex!” You exclaim. You couldn’t express your excitement any other way than wrapping your arms around him. Tears begin to well at your eyes, threatening to fall. You try to hold them back with all your might so you could speak with him.
“I thought you wouldn’t be able to come back for a while? How come you’re here?” You ask, bringing him into another big hug. You can feel him smiling against you as he brings his arms around your body, squeezing you against him.
“One of the shows got postponed for two weeks from now so I immediately came here. I had to see you. If I had gone another day without you, I would have gone mad.” He explained. It felt so good to see him again.
“Ugh, I’ve missed you so much.” You say. Suddenly you realize he might be hungry so you ask, “Are you hungry? There’s still some leftovers from what I made earlier. I can heat it up for you.”
“No, that’s okay. I’m just glad to be here with my wife.” He smiles. You could never get tired of his smile.
“How’s the tour so far? It looks like you and the boys are having some fun.” You laugh. Even though you aren’t going on tour with them, you still keep up sometimes. Especially with those edits of him that fangirls make. You’re not complaining since your husband is a damn fine man if you say so yourself. They should tone it down just a bit, though (don’t actually alex turner is so fine).
“Yeah it’s been awesome. The places we’ve been to have been beautiful. I really wish you could come with us, love. That would just make it 100 times better.” Alex smiles once again.
“Me too. But you already know why I can’t. If I didn’t have work, I most definitely would.” You say. It’s not like Alex wouldn’t full on support you financially; he obviously would. You, on the other hand, don’t want that. The two of you even got into a big argument once about it. He doesn’t see a problem in financially stabilizing you, but you would rather work. You still want to have a life and work for yourself. You don’t want to be just a stay-at-home wife; it’s so stereotypical of celebrity relationships. You want to make a living for yourself, and Alex now 100% understands and supports that.
“Yeah, I get it. My dear wife is so strong.” He gives you a quick kiss with a smirk. You giggle at that. Alex always knows how to make you laugh.
Some time later, you lay with each other in a comfortable silence. This was almost the best part of your relationship. You two could just sit there with your eyes closed not saying a word and you both would understand each other.
Alex lays on his back, eyes closed with his left arm wrapped around your shoulders. Your head is resting against his chest while your hand is on his stomach gently tracing circles. Your eyes were closed too as he hummed to you.
“You know, I still have to go to work tomorrow.” You break the silence. Alex hums in response.
“Do you really though? I’m going to be stuck here by myself all day without you.” He says with a pout.
“Well, I probably could call out tomorrow. One day wouldn’t hurt, right?” You question. Now that you think about it, you haven’t called out from work in a while. You should get a day off. “Hm, I think I’ll stay here with my husband. I get to enjoy a whole three days with you.” You say kind of sarcastically. Although you were anything but sarcastic. You’re more than happy to spend the rest of his two week break with him, as was he.
The both of you continue to enjoy each other’s silence, sleep overcoming you once again. Your eyes feel heavy as they slowly fall. Eventually, you succumb to your slumber, your breath evening out. Alex follows soon after with you in his arms. He really hopes these two weeks last forever.

fightin' to get better
modern!eddie x f!reader
summary: eddie does his damndest to get us out of the study to take a frickin' break.
a/n: My blog is 18 +, minors DNI; purely self-indulgent smut and prosaic idolatry here, my usual brand of filth.
🎶 ooh, let you slide up your hand, uh oh, let go all of my plans 🎶
Grad school could suck a dick. A whole bag of ‘em as far as you were concerned. The entirety of your summer had been taken up by this final class— a subject you loved, but far too much reading and work assigned for the condensed semester.
Eddie thought so too.
The man was quick to chime in when you’d had a glass of wine or two and finally extricated yourself from the front room you’d claimed as an office. Couldn’t understand how you would be complaining one minute and then the second he adds his two cents, you’re defending the professor in question.
But then again, you’d always been tender-hearted.
Which more than explained your penchant for collecting strays, present company excluded, naturally.
“That’s it,” he says, fingers working to peel the damp label from the beer bottle. “First thing tomorrow, I’m gettin’ on the horn with this so-called professor.”
“Eddieeee,” you whine, lips falling into a pout. “Don’t do that.”
He leans into it really playing it up, an eye roll and scoff combo, head inclining to rest on your shoulder as he falls on you dramatically.
“Can’t have my best girl pulling all-nighters every other week.”
His voice was softer, not laced with his typical jocular tone. The bright images of the screen dance across your faces in the cool room. Eddie settles against you, warm breath fanning across your chest and neck.
He can see the subtle dark hues beneath your eyes, hates the evidence of your sleepless nights spent in front of the computer, nose buried in a book.
“I know,” you rasp after a beat or two. “I’ll get better baby, I promise. S’just a few more weeks and then I’m army-crawling to the finish line.”
He cracks a smile, unable to hide his elation at your accomplishment— at you.
Eddie Munson and his genius girlfriend, who would’ve thought?
—
So it really shouldn’t be a surprise a week or two later when Eddie wanders into the study to find you up at all hours of the night. Again.
“Babe—”
“Jesus Christ!” You jolt in your chair, startled by the sound, and slowly swivel toward him. A deep breath once you realize who it is, eyes adjusting to the darkness of the room.
And, sure enough, your boyfriend is standing there wiping the sleep from his eyes, sporting his Suspiria sweats and looking entirely displeased.
“God Eds, make a noise! You’re like Ruth Gordon just standing there with a tannis root.”
He crosses his arms with a sign, ignoring your barb. Ruth Gordon, with her blue eye shadow and head scarf? Puh-leeze.
“You said you’d be ten minutes.”
You shudder at the timbre of his voice— raspy and low, hitting the sweet spot that sends heat rushing to your core.
“Shit, I’m sorry, babe.”
Glasses discarded and hair askew, you sigh catching the time and start to pack it in for the night.
Eddie is surprisingly quick for someone snatched from sleep and dreaming, he turns your chair away from the desk and fixes you with a look.
The penetrating kind, where he squints and tilts his head like he just can’t figure you out. And yeah, he’s never really understood academia or why the books you’ve had to buy are always so damn expensive. But he does his best to support you, reminds you to eat and sleep more than he’d like because you have the tendency of getting too caught up and distracted.
His gaze softens, “C’mere pretty girl.”
Eddie picks you up and throws you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, despite your protests. Smacks your ass for good measure.
“M’gonna fall!”
“No, you aren’t,” he tuts, “Such a drama queen.”
He barrels through the dark house only to deposit you in the dimly lit bathroom. A shaft of light eeks in from a partially opened closet door, candles flickering on countertops catching their reflections in the mirror.
Right side up again, you pause and take a look around. The bathtub is filling up, bubbles growing in soft peaks of foam, and a bath bomb fizzles away, painting the water in candy-colored hues.
There’s a glass of wine and another of ice water, sweating against the ledge of the tub. An iPad propped up in the corner, your favorite show cued up and ready to go.
“Baby,” you say, turning back to him, voice barely above a whisper. “What is all this?”
He takes a step toward you, the slightest inclination of his chin prompting your hands to rise above your head. Eddie’s nimble fingers find the hem of your shirt and tug it upwards, soft fabric brushing against your skin only to be kissed with damp heat.
“Jus’ wanna take care of you,” he says simply, quietly. As if he’d rather do nothing else.
“Oh.”
His fingers alight on the waist of your shorts, thumbs hooking in and pulling down.
“Hmm.” He says, kneeling in front of you, brow quirked and eyes seeking yours. “Feelin’ lucky today or—"
The heat rises in your chest and neck, hands flying to cover your face while he lazily peruses your bare form.
Not so much luck as it was sheer exhaustion that informed your sartorial choices and distinct lack of underwear today, but you’ll take what you can get.
His breath ghosts along your thighs, muscles tightening inadvertently, the coil in your stomach winding taut.
As you step out of the shorts, Eddie turns off the faucet and herds you back against the sink. A brief lift and you're sitting on the countertop, legs splayed, head falling against the cool mirror behind you.
Eddie buries his head between your legs, and smothers praises between your thighs.
Eddie's pretty sentimental with oral— kissing, kissing, kissing— can't stop his lips from meandering, can't stop his mouth from savoring. He noses against your slit, tongue darting out to taste. A low rumble ripped from his chest as the slick muscle works against your petaled heat, savoring the arousal gathered there.
He gets dizzy off it. Selfish for it. It all goes to his head— whimpers and moans falling from your candy-pink mouth, a prolonged whine of his name.
Left, then right, back over again. Drowsy roaming paths, curving and bending, pleased when you arch into his mouth, forever wanting more. Licks you for hours like you’re the last bit of sweetness in the world, savors it long and lazy and delicate.
"Sweetheart," he sighs, pulling away briefly. Lips ruddy and wet with your slick, smiling slow and dangerous, “You’re fucking delicious, baby.”
You moan on his clever tongue and the sloppy sounds he makes. He's always stunning— eager and devoted to the singular task of lapping at you like a starved man.
Two fingers twist inside before he turns them back and shoves them in his own mouth. He repeats this again and again, like pulling a secret from your body that only he’s allowed to enjoy.
“Yes,” he sighs, “Fuck yes. Fuck—mmm—"
It's as if you're on the precipice of a coming storm, pressure building, and rising, too, in your belly, as he works into your body, heavy-lidded and transfixed on your beautiful face. Deeper until you’re shaking, pulling your legs up over his shoulders, getting him closer, closer, closer.
Your toes curl.
"Eddie—"
You shatter like a splinter of lightning. It bursts across your skin—a bright, brief halo—before it’s gone, chased by the explosion of swollen clouds. He muffles a loud fuck! into the meat of your ass, while his fingers continue to corkscrew inside of you.
He's wet down to his wrist, coaxing vestiges of arousal from you, and rises to kiss your open, panting mouth, your exposed throat. Eddie's lips turned wicked and desperate when he asks, "Think you can gimme another one?"
Nodding dumbly, bath and freshly laundered sheets completely forgotten, you watch as he all but yanks you down further, ass now hanging off the countertop. Swings your legs over his shoulders and dives back in, your cunt now positively flooded due to his velvet tongue.
On the bright side, this all-nighter was exceedingly better than the one you had planned; you wouldn't have it any other way. Well played Eddie Munson.
Well played.

Gin Ichimaru x Subordinate who likes to write :3
A/N: Welp, this turned out much longer than I expected. Also you gotta love how I switch back and forth between darkfic to fluff. Hope you enjoy!
Warnings: None for this one
Ever since you joined the 3rd Division, it was typical of Gin to be curious about the type of person you are outside of work.
So imagine his spiking curiosity when he hears excited chatter among the other seated officers about compelling characters and beautifully executed tragedies. I HC he's very much into literature, so you can bet he'll extend an ear.
"Hanako-san has to be the only antagonist I ever felt bad for! That twist regarding her child's death in the winter! And her last lines! That newbie here is something, eh?".
His mind jogs and traces it back to another subject of his curiosity. So you write well, eh? Why did he not know? No matter, he had a plan to see more.
You were assigned some documenting work. After a while, you decided to steal a little time working on your novel. As you confirmed no one was around and scribbled away, you thought of how a lot would be needed to bring you back into the real world...
Or just your captain's appearance.
Your trance was snapped once you saw a thin hand emerge into your field of vision, which was taken by your notebook, point to a line of dialogue: "My, my... You've already aroused the reader's curiosity in Hanako-san's legacy. Well done".
Before you could even think of saying 'thanks', your notebook was gone. It didn't take a genius to know who took it: "Sorry, little Y/N. I'm a fan of yours, but I'm still a captain and I can't let anyone slack off. You can expect it back by tomorrow.".
Generally, he doesn't do much with confiscated items, but you'd be so so wrong to think the same applied to your novel. No, he finished everything for the day, wore his comfiest kimono, brewed some tea... The minute he started to read, he was gone. Even Kira could barely hold his attention for any remaining matters.
The next morning, you find your notebook back in your room, next to a few persimmons, chocolate and a note in his beautiful handwriting: "I don't think I can go on without knowing how the story ends. I noticed you were free this evening. Please join me for a cup of tea so we can discuss further.".
And so, a new bond forged not of official relations, but a shared interest, began.
From then on, you two often had tea and snacks together, discussing books you liked, characters that stuck with you... You liked Gin's taste, even incorporating a bit of it in your next chapters. Sometimes, you two would get Izuru to join you.
Gin would totally encourage you to write for the Seireitei Communication. It's clear to the 3rd that you're gifted with words; Why hide it from the rest? And if you're nervous about the quality of your work, he'll gladly sit you down for one of his writing seshs, letting you look over his work and he yours.
Speaking of which, assuming he's older, ergo had more writing years than you, he's a pretty great mentor. He likes to praise but never gives it so easily so you're incentivized to keep getting better. He's also great if you feel that a piece isn't living up to its potential, but you can't tell why.
"I see... The set-up is exquisite, but I think you're preoccupied with the recurring details to a point where it harms the climax. Remember to let that shine on its own.".
There's also times where you two compete, whether it be on who can write the more coherent story, the more sorrowful character...
Congrats, you are now his much-touted 'writing companion'. If he wants to fluster you, though, it's 'writing playmate'.
After a while, some might notice that Gin's column and yours are... Answering each other? Like, if he brought up a certain topic, you would bounce off of it whether in terms of agreement or heated debate. Many readers expressed that they enjoy this exchange of ideas.
Once you two are close, it's not at all unusual for him to sneak up behind you while you write like the first time, sometimes even hugging you and resting his chin on your shoulder. Careful not to let him see the growing blush~
One night, you were writing a romance scene. Out of nowhere (as usual), you hear his low chuckle: "How dreamy~"
You turned back to see him grinning at you. Trying to keep stoic, you decided to ask: "I thought that they had good chemistry, unless you think otherwise?".
"Not at all! It was obvious, but just one detail I must point out; When you got to the confession point, you started to skim out on a lot of detail that could endear the reader to this moment.".
He had a point. Were you getting bashful about it?
"But don't worry, Y/N. There's nothing that improves writing like experience. If you ever need a real life example of such scenes, you can always ask me~".
Did he just... Allude to romantic moments between you two? With time, you find that yes, this darned fox couldn't let you know he was interested in you without teasing you.
For one, let's say that after you got together your romance scenes became... Much better.
You two would also use each other as characters in all sorts of writing. To fluster you, Gin would enjoy doing so in old-fashioned style romances. Sometimes he foreshadows dates through that!
If you're feeling petty, you can always present a story where he's the main character and gets beat down by a force of nature he can't control :p
By the time you finish your novel, there's probably a pair that is a lot like you two anyway.
Analyzing each other's work!
Gifting each other fine ink and writing tools!
Seeing who can write the most intense love letter to the other!
All in all, this is my brainrot and I'm gonna go hyperfixate bye bye :3

Whimsy Bit #6-Venting Session
Nothing much happened on this day. Emily mainly sat around the house. Night approached, and she had the place to herself for a bit, so she took advantage of the time to take a warm bath. Still wrapped in a towel, she sat downstairs to read one of her favorite books.
Just as she finished a quick chapter and was headed back to her bedroom, she was startled by Brant, who had just returned from hanging out with some gym friends at Club Calico. Brant's stay was steadily coming to a close tomorrow, and as much as Emily enjoyed his company, this little moment made her miss her privacy. I mean...it's a good thing she hadn't walked downstairs in the nude.
Emily could tell Brant had been drinking; the smell was on his breath, and his cheeks blushed. He felt the need to apologize for Supriya's accusations...again...and thanked her for helping him with his dilemma for the umpteenth time...then he mumbled some other gibberish that she couldn't make out.
Suddenly, he eagerly wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace. She was slightly embarrassed about being in a towel before him but still reciprocated his bear hug.
Emily attempted to usher him upstairs to go to bed, but Brant's demeanor suggested that he needed a sit-down talk. So, Emily went upstairs to change into some clothes (that I'll be updating soon because girly has been sporting these same clothes for a while now) and returned downstairs. She saw him sitting pitifully on the couch, his face overcome with tears.
Emily: "Brant...what's up? You were so happy just a few minutes ago..." Brant: *sighs* "Em, I know I'm making the right decision, but I'm just so worried about how big the change will be in our relationship." Emily: "What do you mean? Are you having second thoughts?"
Brant: "What if...what if he meets someone else?" Emily: "Now why do you think he would do that?" Brant: "I don't know. He will be in another region of the world without me...around sophisticated and artsy sims in Windenburg. It's right up Brent's alley." Emily: "Yeah...but it's only temporary, remember? Once the business trip is over, he'll be right back home with you and Rosie!"
Emily: "Besides, distance makes the heart grow fonder...right?"
Brant, a strong and loveable figure, now looked like a wounded puppy. Just days ago, he was adapting to fully supporting Brent's upcoming travels with his renowned art group, Painterly Spirits. But the alcohol had a way of amplifying the reality of Brent's three-month business trip to Windenburg and Britechester, making it even more challenging to accept. The two were inseparable, except when they were working.
-I take it that Brant chose to stay with Emily to get a feel of how things would be without Brent. Could he adjust? It was doable at first, but he started to get anxious and miss him as time approached.
Brant: "Em, how can I just send my husband off for THAT LONG and pretend I'm fine?! I-I might as well wrap his cute a$$ into an aesthetically pleasing gift wrapping with sparkles and hand him over to the next hunky artist he's bound to see over there!"
Emily: "My goodness, Brant! Why would you think Brent could be so easily swayed by another?" Brant: "I don't know! I'm just thinking out loud..and irrationally..." *hic*
Emily was taken aback by Brant's insecurity about Brent's faithfulness. She hadn't had the opportunity to hang with Brent herself, but she'd seen the pair together before, just in passing, and they were always very loving to each other. He mustn't have always felt this way.
But seriously, in the end, she blamed it on the alcohol making him this delusional. How much did he have to drink tonight? Geez.
Emily: "How about this. Let's get your mind off freaking out about Brent finding new overseas peen. I think we should go to the nearby plaza to do some shopping. We can get some new clothes and do whatever you want to ease your mind? How does that sound?" Brant: "Yea...YEA! Sounds fun! Let's do it."
Brant: "Now that I'm thinking about it, let's go to that barber shop there too! I haven't done anything different with my hair in so long! You know, the puffy pompadour swoop has become my signature. Maybe I should switch it up?" Emily: "Hmmm...your pompadour does look good on you, but if you want to, let's see if you can find something else to frame that handsome face of yours."
The pair separated and headed upstairs to their beds.
Feeling pleased with letting out his frustrations in his drunken state, Brant yawned loudly and collapsed into bed. Hopefully, he can sleep off the hangover.
Finally, Emily was able to go to bed herself. Quickly pulling the covers over her, she sunk into the comforts of her mattress and cold pillow. Tomorrow would be a fun day, and she wanted to make sure Brant returned home to his love with new confidence in not just himself but also in the resilience of their marriage.
-Good night yall... or morning...whatever time it is for you when you read this 😄

Success and fails of the sleepless nights - Tighnari x Student Reader
"If you don't take care of yourself, there will be no paper that you can finish"
TW: University, sleep deprivation, self-doubt, good ending.
WC: 2 872
Summary: scenario about platonic Tighnari helping poor, sleep deprived student Reader. Slight angst to comfort I guess
__________________
Learning is exhausting.
Scratch that.
Learning is not exhausting in itself, you used to be very fond of it.
Academy is exhausting. And not even the institution itself, it's the people. Especially the current, oh so mighty, Sages.
Scratch that again.
It's not even solely about the Sages. It's about hierarchy. Everyone with a title higher than yours is entitled to treat you like air or lesser of a person than they are. Those who once have been treated this way now have taken over this "privilege".
Just push yourself a bit more, at least finish this paper and you will submit it again and then it all will be okay.
How weird. You really used to be curious about the world, willing to explore it and it's laws. Sit with the book you found interesting. And now you only hope to be done with this whole Academiya and never touch a book again.
Where did you go wrong?
Anyway, such thinking is for when there's time for it. Paper. Finished paper is all you need now. Just submit the paper and be done with this
Scratch this again and scratch that again
Submit the paper.
Only for it to be denied again, because your professor decided that his subject is so complicated and important that only ten percent of each year can pass it. With the lowest grade acceptable. Propably not even God of Wisdom would get the highest mark.
Scratch, scratch, scratch, scratch, scra...
"Be silent, do you think people come here to listen to you demolishing papers? I come here at night so the likes of you don't disturb up my studies" a shillouete appears on your paper and you look up at the man standing just before you. Another scholar. He's not even looking at you, his eyes gaze at your paper, reading, then he grimaces "They'd be better used in toilet anyway I see" he scoffes and before you can say anything, he makes his way out of here.
Ah, right.
You're still at library.
You sigh and fall back into your chair. Exhaustion and frustration finally let themselves be fully known to you after all those hours you've spent here. Your head and legs feel as numb as if they disappeared altogether. You grimace as you try to find another, comfortable position on that chair. It didn't do much. You're still exhausted and your drink has run cold a long time ago. You take one last sip of your coffee. Bitter and cold. But maybe you will visit those merchants near the Academiya to get yourself something to eat and a hot drink. You know you need to hand this paper tomorrow morning.
Just a few more lines until it's acceptable to be submitted. Then screw it all and wait for the verdict. Maybe the Celestial grace will take pity upon you and you will pass.
Or you will be forced to pay money for the retake like majority of this madman's students.
You grab your things and get ready to leave. You pass through the silent library and then the corridor. It's no surprise that these corridors seem more desolate than ever. It's middle of the night and even a thought of laying down on these cold tiles is tempting. Anything for a wink of sleep.
"Was that Tighnari?" you hear and stop to look at two students talking near you. That was a name you haven't heard in a while.
"Yeah, he was called here by the Sage to join them in their project, but he refused again" says other shocked student. First one sighs and shakes his head
"I can't believe it, if I were him, I'd be happily join them, even with no pay"
"And that's why you're not me" a voice sounds from behind you. Two students look shocked at Tighnari, he stood just beside you, at the doors. Tighnari narrows his eyes and crosses his arms
"M-master Tighnari...we didn't mean to insult you..." starts one of them
"You know what, do make yourself a favour and consider if you really would join them" says Tighnari with a frown "You'd happily wag your tail even if they told you to forsake your lives for their plans, wouldn't you?"
"B-but Academiya's projects are done to improve all of our lives...!"starts the other student, but under Tighnari's gaze, he retreats with his words.
"It's not my buisness. Neither are you, go and be a mindless zombie" he adds in harsh tone and two students hurry off as they glance behind themselves. Tighnari then looks at you and your sleep deprived form. "What? You too?"
You think of what does he mean but your brain feels mushy and your stomach decides to play the song of drums. The botanist sighs as he looks at cup of dried coffee in your right hand and papers in your left.
"...when will you fools understand that humans aren't machines. You don't pour coffee into yourself like you pour oil into some device and expect it to run for days" he says with an annoyed sigh.
Now, this is embarassing.
A senior of yours, a man who became a graduate at such young age, is looking at you struggling to even keep your position in the Academiya as a student. He talks about somethings, his tone not getting any gentler. But you don't hear him anymore.
People like him are far beyond your reach. You can't even get this fucking paper done. And now you can't even stop your tears from leaving your eyes as they stain your hard work. His face is a blur for you now, you can only see how one of his ears twitches, propably annoyed with your emotional outburst. Your hand turns into a fist as the papers get crumpled, something you already regret. You look shocked at the paper and open your mouth begging the paper to be okay.
"Is this why this all fuss is about?" asks Tighnari, in neutral tone. You shield the paper from him. Too ashamed of yet another person seeing your work as a disgrace to a research field. "Come on, show me that" he says, and you neither do give it to him or hold it to yourself.
You'd gladly melt into the background, along with all your worthless papers.
He takes it from your hand, and you don't stop him anymore. You just do as always, when you hand in your papers.
You look down, until he gives a silent verdict, tears the paper and tells you not to waste his time.
You used to take pride in your projects. And now at the thought of these projects from this man's lessons...you freeze.
"Ah, so you're a student of his" says Tighnari as he narrows his eyes to be able to read informations from the damaged paper "This bastard...which retake of yours is it, eh?" he asks as he looks at you. Struggle and tell which one it is and he will humm "So you've got to hand it tomorrow...tell me, [Name] do you think this paper will pass?" he asks as he looks at you.
Wait, how even did he know your name? You didn't personally know him, just heard of him.
And how did he know you had to hand it in tomorrow?
"I've read it on the paper, you lummox" he says as he waves the paper before your eyes.
Ah, right. There was your name and tomorrow's date.
Tighnari looks at you, as you try to race your thoughts through that sleep deprived brain of yours. He sighs as he crosses his arms.
"How about it then, I will submit it tomorrow on your behalf. And you will take some rest."
Thought of thanking him for that ran through your head. But what will happen then? The two of them will have the laugh of their lives?
Irresponsible. You are irresponsible.
"No, you're just exhausted" says Tighnari "I mean it" he waves the paper again "I will be here tomorrow morning, just in time to meet your teacher. I will hand it in for you. Don't worry about it, I know him."
Corruption? A word from another person for you to pass? If that makes you pass, you might as well take it. At this point you just want to get it over with.
You ask Tighnari why would he do it and he sighs
"I'm no random, I too learnt here I guess you know about it. And I guess I grew nostalgic, maybe I'm searching for a reason to talk to him" he says as he glances at the paper. "So? What do you say?"
You agree and he nods, hiding the paper in his bag. He glances at the window outside.
"Actually I was already leaving the Academiya. So let's leave together, okay? You look like you'd pass out any moment" he says and you follow him. He was a good observer, you really were in a bad shape. Random trip on the stairs, knocking your head into the lamp pole or almost walking off the path seemed to be your exact thing that night.
"So, you live in the Dormitory or somewhere else?" he makes sure and seeing your nod, he nods to himself "Good, it's near enough" he adds as you two see the familiar buildings with Akademiya's signs.
"Remember to have some sleep and drink a lot. No coffee, just water. While you're at it, get some medications and vitamins as well, okay?" he tilts his head as his one ear flops a bit and you've got to hold back from trying to tap his ear. He only blinks slowly. "Go and have some rest" he only adds and leaves you.
---
You wake up, feeling the hot rays of sun on your skin. You stretch your arms until you get a cramp in them and sharply roll to the side. You wait for the pain to pass and then get up, panicked as you see the hour. You woke up two hours after your lessons have started.
Lessons with that guy too. And you don't have your paper.
You barely remember your meeting with Tighnari. It's a memory foggy enough for you to consider it a hallucination because of your sleep deprivation. You were still in your school uniform as well. You might have just crashed here and made it all up.
Worst thing - there's no paper. You must have lost it somewhere. You're fucked.
You grab your bag and run off your dormitory, feeling the exhaustion set in again with each of your steps. Tears appear in the corners of your eyes as you rush through people and into the Akademiya.
But as you run towards the doors of your class, you see people walking out of it.
It's done. The final term passed and you didn't hand your paper. You might have made it, but now it's impossible.
"...haha yeah, that was amazing. I can't believe we don't have to look at that asshat anymore" laughs one of your classmates to another as they pass you.
What.
You get in front of them and ask them questions. What the hell did they mean? Why is everyone so happy when they just quit his classroom?
They gave you weird looks and ask whether you're alright.
But it's no time to ask this!
"Chill [Name]" says one of the students "Ya see, we all passed. And we won't see that asshat anymore, it was the last lesson with him."
They passed? They just passed because they were present that day? You were present almost everyday and it never happened! What the fuck have you done
"Hey, I told you, chill. You passed too" he says and you look at him like at some idiot. "I mean...we passed thanks to you, mostly."
What.
"Your paper was a joint project with Master Tighnari. He was the one defending the project"
"That guy was roasting mr Asshat nicely! Seriously can't believe he's round our age!" another student jumps in with a huge grin as they hook an arm around the other student's neck "Mr "Asshat was supposed to review us all in those two hours, but picked you first and then that fox kept talking and talking and asking him questions...he had him in there, defeated! Should have seen that...!" he starts
"Hey, if you're going to talk about me at least classify me correctly" the student's face dies a bit as he looks back and steps away, revealing Tighnari "I've got no connections with foxes. Valuka Shuna is a race that shares Large Desert Dog's features. Not fox." he narrows his eyes and the student chuckles a bit nervously.
"I'm...sorry sir Tighnari"
"Whatever, run off now" says Tighnari and the students cheer in excitement for their luck in classes and leave the Akademiya. "So...did you sleep well?" he looks at you
Man, this too is embarassing. So embarassing that you can feel the burning shame run through your back and arms...
Wait, that's no embarassment.
That's another muscle cramp
"For real?" Tighnari sighs as he grabs your arm and bends it a bit, you feel a little bit of pain and then relief. You sigh out as you thank him "As I thought, not only are you exhausted but dehydrated as well...take some care of yourself, seriously" he says.
You thank him now for helping you pass, you almost can't help the grin that tugs at your cheeks, despite tiredness.
"No problem, you see, I really did seek out the way to meet up with that teacher of yours. He has been Akademiya's scarecrow for some time by now. It annoys me how people like him treat students, people who are here willingly to learn, right? Besides, I've asked another researcher in that field and your paper was really alright" he looks at you and then thinks a bit "Since you've passed...Do you have any plans for the summer break?"
Summer break? Does he mean 'crash in your room for months and try not to think of yet another year of academic torment'?
But you answer him truthfully, you don't. He nods pleased.
"Good. You will help me"
You help him? How in the world?
"I have a shortage of Forest Watchers you see, I will gladly get someone into our team. You need not to worry about housing or food for that time. I don't really expect you to do more than you can. You will help my other trainee, what do you say?" he asks.
There goes your staying in the dormitory room. You almost sulk at the idea of having yet another scholar to answer to.
"What's with that face? It's not a life sentence. If you don't want to, just tell me" he says
And you can't push yourself to answer him in one way. You're good with writing papers just before the deadline and being stressed out. Will you be able to do well as a Forest Watcher?
"Not the Forest Watcher but a trainee. You will just help around" he says and sighs "Personally I too think it would be best for you to rest from this place. Humans aren't used to living in such conditions...and no, I don't mean my kind. People. Overall. It's noisy, you have how little sleep now at your academic year? Five at most?" he scoffes and shakes his head as he looks outside the window, his one ear tilts
"You will understand once you stay a bit outside of here. If you decide to go back, I won't stop you. Just give yourself a chance to see how your mind will react to another environment, okay?" he looks back at you.
How could you say no? Not only did he save your ass, he also feels concerned about you. And being a scholar, he does know his stuff. Maybe he's right and this summer break will be a good rest for you?
You agree and he smiles at that. You two hear the footsteps and see the teacher you have been having so much headache about lately.
He was carrying some boxes with papers.
"Going on a break professor?" asks Tighnari with a hint of smugness
"Fuck you Tighnari." hisses the lecturer and walks out of the academiya.
"Interestingly enough, I too have offered him that summer break session" he says and you look at the fox man with horror. He grins amused at that "I'm just joking, don't worry. He too was long time burnt out. I know he's been only looking for an excuse to leave and go join his brother at a farm"
Farm? Is he joking?
That asshat? All crops are going to wither.
"In two weeks Collei will come to the city for some resources and she will collect you on her way back. Ah, right. Collei is a trainee Forest Watcher. Your soon to be colleague too. Take good care of her" he adds as he walks out. Call out to him and he will turn around
"What? Can't wait two weeks? Then make haste and come with me now."
This will be an interesting summer break.

A/N: And yes, I will propably make another one based briefly on this one. Something along the lines: "Tighnari oversees reader's reconvalescence and the two grow close".

SO sorry for not producing any Baby Florrie content 😭 Some fluff for your day
(Set on February 27th)
Tags: @millythegoat, @alissonbecksfan234, @moomin279, @rubybecker-rb2
Happy Birthday
The Liverpudlians had found Florrie in December 2021. The toddler had been by herself in a park when the Three Brazilians found her by chance. It hadn’t taken long for the Liverpudlians to adopt her.
Three months later, Florrie had met Kairo at preschool, and the two had grown so close together that they were nearly twins. So close that whenever one of the adults would pick Florrie up from school, Kairo was almost always in the backseat, strapped into his own car seat. They would spend the afternoon together before a man everybody assumed was Kairo’s father would come and pick him up.
Kairo had always seemed sad when it was time to go home. The Liverpudlians had assumed that was due to him and Florrie being as thick as thieves and nothing else. They certainly didn’t assume that the man wasn’t Kairo’s father at all.
After a week of the same routine, Klopp noticed something was up about Kairo’s “father”. Instead of waiting, he decided to drive Kairo home himself, based on the three year old’s directions. He’d arrived at a pretentious house with an empty driveway, only to find an absolute shack inside.
Upon finding nobody in the house, Klopp let Kairo show him around the house. He’d frowned upon the lack of proper child care items in and around the house, but he shrugged off his concerns with the internal reassurance that they were all in Kairo’s bedroom.
But when Klopp had asked Kairo to take him to his bedroom, Kairo had clung onto Klopp’s legs, crying and begging him not to take him in there. That it was dark, and scary, and there were belts and hot irons there. It all started to click for Klopp: Kairo’s misery at leaving Kirkby at the end of the day, the derelict house, the fact that he’d always appeared dressed in long sleeves and pants even though the weather didn’t necessitate it.
To make a long story short, Klopp had Kairo’s father reported to the authorities. With all the evidence glaring in the authorities’ faces, Kairo’s father was sentenced to jail for child abuse and Kairo put up for adoption. He only remained in adoption for half a week before Jennings brought him home as Florrie’s twin brother. The two were absolutely thrilled about it.
And being so close, it seemed only fitting that Florrie and Kairo shared the same birthday.
*
The first time they’d celebrated Florrie’s birthday—Kairo hadn’t joined them yet—Liverpool had won the EFl Cup on the same day. Now, even though the EFl Cup was no longer theirs, the Liverpudlians still liked to call February 27th their “EFl Cup anniversary” as well as Florrie and Kairo’s birthday.
The party had lasted for quite a while, considering they were celebrating multiple things at once. So long that near the end, everybody was ready for bed.
Well, almost everybody.
Florrie and Kairo had definitely been excited by their birthday party. So much, that Klopp had been called to wrangle them into bed.
“Can we have another party tomorrow?” Florrie asked. She had buried herself underneath the covers, a small lump on the bed being the only indication of her presence.
“I’m not so sure about that,” said Klopp, slipping Kairo’s nightshirt onto him. “We’ve got to prepare for the Wolves game, and then the United game.”
“I sure hope we can beat United,” said Florrie, who was still under the blanket. “This way Neville can’t take me again.”
“If he comes near any of you, I will kick his butt.” And Klopp meant it. The very mention of when Neville had tried to kidnap Florrie made his blood boil to no end. “Now let’s read before we go to sleep, shall we?”
He finished tucking Kairo into bed at the same time Florrie decided to come out from under the covers. The toddlers, both tuckered out from the party, fell asleep before Klopp even finished chapter 1 of The Wind in the Willows.
Klopp set the book back on the shelf and turned out all the lights, save for the small football-shaped night light in the corner of the room. For a moment, Klopp stopped to watch Florrie and Kairo in bed. Two small children that the whole team had basically adopted. They would be part of their family no matter what happened later on, or who left.
By now, Klopp didn’t mind being the cool grandpa to them. He could stand to act his age once in a while.

Dev Journal: Day 2
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t surprised to see some attention already on my post yesterday, and it makes me happy to see some people who are already interested. So I’ll start by saying thanks for the support!
Before I go over the developments of today, I guess it’s worth saying exactly how much time is going into this daily. My routine is getting to my desk at 9am, teaching myself Unity and C# through to about 1:30pm, taking about 40 minutes for lunch, and then Creation Kit from the end of my lunch to about 5pm, maybe 6pm on days that I don’t have anything going on in the evenings. Once I’m done with the Creation kit work for the day, I write, so that I can take screencaps without needing to restart my work environment from earlier that day.
So with about 3 hours of work today, what got done? The full structure is built! There’s no glaring holes into the void, though I did notice that a couple of my tiles are placed a few pixels into another, causing some graphical twitching, but that’s okay, and it’ll get fixed tomorrow while I go about furnishing. I also took the time to place a couple of detail items around, but honestly my brain is fried at this point so I’ll probably go back and do it again later. The only negative result from today is that the two-tier library isn’t going to work with the existing textures, but that’s alright.
So what am I going to show you today? Well... everything. All of the rooms in their minimal state, and maybe I’ll write a brief blurb on the context of each of them and changes I noted to make for myself as I was walking around in demo mode. If you ride it out to the end, there’s a little bit of Skyrim trivia for you too!
The scriptorium will be the main vestibule of this construction. In its finished product, the center of the room will be filled with bookshelves in a classic record-stack format, while desks will line the walls for scribes and researchers alike to study, transcribe, and dispute the works contained in the Vault’s extensive library. While this place has long fallen into disrepair, more magical works like spell tomes, scrolls, or books of particularly important and interesting lore may still litter the desks and shelves of this room. I need to reorient a handful of tiles in this room to remove a couple overlaps, but otherwise it just needs to be detailed.
The laboratory may be a small space, but it was designed that way so the use of the space for long-term experiments was discouraged. The vault was not built to accommodate travelers for weeks on end, but to house them for a few days while they performed their research to take home to their own labs. Of course, some of the librarians held private experiments and studies that were more involved and time-consuming.
Opposite the lab are a handful of quiet cells, used by guests for sleeping accommodations or personal study. The northwestern cell is a communal bedchamber for the librarians, as well as a small section of the room used for the repair of degrading or damaged tomes. During my walkthrough I felt as though the guest cells, and perhaps even the resident cell, were a bit too large, so I may use different closing tiles for the far walls tomorrow before I start furnishing, or make the decision after I’ve furnished one. Also all of these cells still need doors.
This shot is taken from the opposite side of the Special Collections door, where few individuals were permitted. The entrance is off down the left fork of the hall, and to our back will be a reading area for these reserved or restricted titles. Down the corridor lies one more chamber where the head scribe was conducting some interesting research into... well, now, I can’t give everything away, can I?
I suppose that covers everything for today! Tomorrow likely won’t be as long-winded, nor have so many pictures, but I hope you’ll continue to enjoy it regardless. Now, I made a promise of trivia. It’s something I learned today while testing.
Did you know that the standard character in Skyrim, if you were to travel to another map location via the coc command from the main menu instead of loading/beginning a save, is a Nord with iron armor, an iron shield, the iron one-handed weapons, a longbow, and iron arrows - much like the promotional character from the trailers all those years ago? It also means those pesky Imperials took the armor off your back when you got caught up in that ambush. Just another reason to side with the Stormcloaks, I guess.

.・* study break
rating: all
word count: 1.7k
pairing/themes: matsuno chifuyu x gn!reader , fluff , middle school timeline , hand holding (scandalous) , it’s really just fluffy stuff of chifuyu being a good bf
author notes: i love him i love him so soso much i want to hold hands with chifuyu please @ God when will i- // this is not proof read
pencils scratched on paper as you and chifuyu studied late into the night in his room. you had already taken a quick dinner break at the nearby denny’s, but the exams were coming up soon and you were seriously stressed out.
when you started dating chifuyu and your parents found out, they weren’t the happiest people in the world. their precious child, always a good kid near the top of the class, would never hurt a fly, and who would always come home on time, was dating a boy like this?! even if you insisted he was much kinder and sweeter than first impressions would say, he was still in a gang!
so they only permitted you to continue dating him if you managed to keep your grades up in the upcoming exams, hence the amount of stress you were facing right now.
and it was clear to chifuyu. he could see how every few minutes you would sigh heavily and push your bangs back, or how once in a while you would rest your head on your notebook for a few seconds before lifting it and squinting at the question once more to continue. the degree to which you were hunched over the books and the way your bad habits like biting your lip or picking at your nails came out showed to him that you needed a break.
“hey, let’s stop for tonight. we can go for some ice cream at family mart. i heard they have a new flavour out…” he whispered with a grin.
“later… i need to finish the math exercises by tonight,” you replied with a sorry smile and continued writing. but chifuyu looked at your working and frowned.
“you’re not even getting your basic math right. look, you wrote 25+5=35,” he pointed out, causing your smile to drop and a tired sigh to leave you, “how about we continue tomorrow?”
you looked up at your boyfriend and shook your head. “i want to finish it tonight. we don’t have much longer until the exams and you know… i… i have to keep my grades up so I can continue dating you,” you trailed off slightly, looking to the side with embarrassment.
the blond’s eyes widened a fraction as he blushed too, though he just grinned and closed his books. “i like that you like me this much, but come on. you know if you keep going like this, you’ll end up not absorbing anything.” he stood up and stretched his arms and legs with a little groan, feeling stiff from sitting on the floor for so long. “let’s go for a ride.”
you looked up at him and cocked your head. “a bike ride? at night?”
he nodded and held a hand out to help you up. “it’s always better at night, trust me.”
you looked at him for a moment, then back at your work, then back to him. you did come here after school on your bicycle, and maybe a little exercise and fresh air could get your mind awake again. plus, that oh so adorable smile of chifuyu’s was practically begging you to come. “ah, you know I’m weak for you,” you whined and shut your books before grabbing his hand.
you squeaked as he suddenly yanked you up to your feet, suddenly reminding you of his strength as you landed unsteadily on your feet, and fell right into his chest. the two of you looked at each other with wide eyes and pink cheeks before giggling together.
.。・* ° *・。.
“you know… when you said ‘bike’, i assumed bicycle,” you mumbled as chifuyu held out his helmet for you.
“huh… oh. i meant my motorbike,” he said, and placed it on your head, carefully clipping the strap under your chin so as to not pinch your skin. “mm. the helmet suits you!”
“how about you, fuyu? don’t you need one too?” you asked as you watched him straddle his bike and you nervously walked up behind him. “how are we gonna go anyways? i don’t have a motorbike.”
“nah, I’ll be fine. just sit on the back!”
you looked at the bike with distrust but carefully got on anyways, trusting that your boyfriend would keep you safe throughout. you felt your arms gently being moved to wrap around him, bringing you closer to the wool of his sweater and his faint but distinct scent.
“hold on tight,” chifuyu said and turned the key, bringing the bike to life.
suddenly, the panic started to set in. you were just 14 year olds on an bike obtained through illegal means! “ch-chifuyu, I don’t know… m-maybe we can just walk?”
“don’t worry, i’ve got you!” he looked back at you with his toothy grin and for some reason, your heart calmed down a little. you always knew you could trust in him after all.
but that didn’t mean your heart didn’t speed up again along with the bike as the blond revved the engine and started speeding off.
despite the way you had your face practically stuck against chifuyu’s back, using him as a shield, you can still feel the way the wind blew and beat against your skin. you were thankful for the fact that you were hugging your boyfriend, otherwise you knew you would probably be shivering to death. both from the cold and your fear.
as you were too scared to open your eyes and to look at the scenery zooming past you two, your mind zoned out, thinking about how your parents would probably ground you for riding a bike. let alone doing it illegally while clinging onto your boyfriend (who they still didn’t approve of) for dear life. not to forget that your mind was still stuck on the math question you left behind.
thinking about everything again, you rested the side of your head on your boyfriend’s back and sighed. he could feel the heave of your body and the weight against him, and knew you weren’t feeling better yet.
chifuyu decided to call your name loudly so that you could hear it over the wind whistling past your ears.
“yeah?” you replied, repositioning your head so your chin rested on his back instead. It caused him to jump a bit at the ticklish feeling but he quickly stilled.
“Look to your left!”
you slowly opened your eyes, fear still having a hold on you, though it’s grip loosened as you gasped at the sight before you; city lights reflected upon the glossy dark waters of the river between you and it. the sight of a near empty road and the way you were actually enjoying the feeling of the wind on your skin brought a sort of calm to you along with the rare star or two in the cloudy night sky.
and when you looked front, you thought the sight was even cooler - the broad back of your boyfriend who you loved and who loved you so dearly. the way his blond hair fluttered in the wind too, was just dashing, and the soft smile you could just barely see if you leaned to one side… he really was the guy you liked.
you grinned and gave him a small squeeze before resting your head on his back again, enjoying the view of the passing city lights and more importantly, enjoying the warmth from chifuyu’s back.
.。・* ° *・。.
“what do you think about it?” he asked as you two walked the stairs up to your family’s apartment.
“i liked it. it was scary but I liked it,” you grinned and swung your interlocked hands together a bit more, “bring me on another ride next time! I wanna try sitting in front though.”
“eh… you’re already so brave, huh?” he teased.
“mm… maybe!” you giggled. “it’s actually just because you’re with me.”
chifuyu blushed and ruffled your hair with his free hand. “You’re too cute, you know?”
“you’re even cuter.” you also ruffled his hair, causing him to laugh.
it was like you had completely forgot about your troubles from earlier that night, and thinking of that made chifuyu feel at ease. all he wanted from this bike ride was for you to relax a bit after all. he knew how much you loved him, even with all the difficulties that came with it; the pain of seeing his new bruises, the disapproval from your parents, the fear of walking alone being doubled now that you were dating someone like him, even just the rumours whispered about you around school. he admired you for all of it and loved you even more for it. he figured the least he could do for someone like you was to at least give you whatever happiness he could.
“you suddenly went quiet. what are you thinking about?” you asked, squinting at him.
chifuyu’s eyes widened but his expression softened once more. “just thinking about you.”
“geez… I’m gonna become a tomato with how much you make me blush,” you pouted as you two stopped in front of your door.
there was a bit a silence as the two of you realised you both didn’t want to part just yet. even if it was for an extra millisecond, you wanted to stay together.
but you knew that you had to go already. there was school tomorrow anyways, and you could meet again there!
“i’ll see you tomorrow at school?” he squeezed your hand.
“mmhm! see you.” you squeezed his hand back and reluctantly let go, your hand instantly feeling cold as you turned to unlocked the door.
just as you opened the door, you felt a hand on your shoulder. “hold on. can I just…” chifuyu pulled you closer and pecked your lips. “good night.”
it wasn’t like it was your first kiss with him but… it gave the exact same feeling of butterflies in your tummy and your knees suddenly becoming weak. “o-oh… good night, fuyu.”
he let go and turned to head back to the stairs. “see you!” he said, but not without flashing his toothy grin to you.
“mm… see you,” you said softly and waved until you couldn’t see him anymore before turning to enter your apartment.
and that was when you realised.
“chifuyu! my stuff is still at your place!”

The first prefromance
Something I spoke of in a discord I'm in.
So here have Simpbur and CamGirl/Camboy reader doing a show with them after working his way into their close circle.
(Yes this plays off of the two cam asks I have gotten recently)
Also please know that real cam girls/boys aren't actually going to do this, this is purely fictional in its makeup.
SMUT UNDERCUT! MINOR DNI!
"That's it j-just like that, all the way like you should be taking me. S-shouldn't be here fucking my hand w-when I could be fucking you, such a pretty thing so good for me, but such a slut t-to let others watch you like this..."
That was the last thing he had said to you on your last private call, since then he had wormed his way further and further into your shows and even into a bit of your personal life, or well your on-screen personal life, as he had the phone number you kept aside for work, from your days as a more in-person performer.
And boy did he ever make use of the number, sending you little messages and photos whenever the thought struck him, peppering you in small doses of affection and savouring the way you called him sometimes when you skipped a stream, offering him to listen to you get off instead letting him hear when you spoke about the toy he had sent you. Sometimes even getting him to call and ask for you to listen to him, getting you to mutter things to him and work him that little bit closer to his end.
But now what you're calling for may just break your dear simp, having had all the fun you could with the silicon imitation he had made for you, that now your mind was thinking about how he would feel rather than the toy. 'S-shouldn't be here fucking my hand w-when I could be fucking you' his own words playing on repeat in your head after you close down your last stream, sending little thank yous to the top donators before moving to the call ping that was coming through.
It was him. Perfect.
"Ahh, there he is, my pretty top boy Simpbur!"
"That was quite the s-show, but what did you mean by you're w-working on something big with someone else?"
"Well, that's good that you asked my dear. You are always so good for me, sending those little messages and all those donations, I was thinking you may want to help me with the next stream..."
"Y-you want me to-"
"Mmhmm, didn't you say yourself that it should be you fucking me, or was it that you should be here in me rather than fucking your hand?"
It's easy to finish your sentence with a tilt of your head, tapping one of your fingers against your bottom lip as if you were actually trying to remember when truly you were just teasing the curly-haired boy staring at you wide-eyed through your screen.
"I. Yes. I-I mean I would love to if you want me to..."
With his agreement the rest of the call was spent hashing out the rough details and leaving him open to suggest what he wanted to do for the show, leaving him with a wink and a reminder to 'Keep it simple' before you logged out and started to pack up and clean down the space you had been working in.
There would be a few weeks between your last show and the next one, having all the platforms you used teasing the next stream with images of the silicone toy being front and centre in all the images, a tease for all your viewers but a reminder for your dear simpbur that he would be more real in your world in a few days. Even when he made up his mind on what he wanted it was still so very hard for him to not scroll back through the recorded calls and streams, take himself in hand and work through the building need.
But he managed to keep his hands off, having worked himself up even before the actual day of the stream.
When you call him, he picks up on the first ring as always chipper and shaky in the same breath as he says your stage name.
"There's my good boy! You ready for tomorrow? Your first time in the red light after all, just want to make sure you're still down and want to do this."
"I-I am. I'm good and... and ready for tomorrow."
With a laugh and a quick goodbye, you hang up, heading off to the regular place you booked for longer shows needing to set up lights and the cams now, otherwise you would likely not have time when your co-star finally made his way to you. And how right you were, the moment the time for the stream rolled around he was there at your door, hands fiddling with the bottom of his button-up, mask and beanie on as if you hadn't seen his face a million times before.
Welcoming him in is easy, but getting him to calm down just enough to have him read back what the two of you had planned took slightly longer. You had him keep his mask and beanie on, using them as a way to keep him from having his real-world life ruined from doing this one little show with you, the suggestion also seems to put some of his nerves to rest.
When the cameras do start rolling, the stream on a start-up timer for switching on to a live stage, your chat on a large screen hanging over your laptop that was actually hosting the show, messages flying past as people are lured in at the promise of a different kind of show and the tagline mentioning a guest star. When the cam starts showing the room you're seated on Simpburs lap, thighs spread wide over his with his hands holding you close while you do your intro, his masked face pressed into your shoulder as he mutters something under his breath.
Your form rocking back into him once you're were done, slipping a hand under his beanie and tangling in his curls, making him groan just loud enough that one of the many mics would be able to hear him, laughing and cooing at him as you reach down with your free hand to wrap around his cock, slowly running your fingers across the heated flesh.
"You'll be good for me won't you? So pretty and brave being here on cam with me, getting a treat that so many would die for..."
His voice falters when you shift your grip, tugging on his hair just as you start to actually move your hand to jerk him off, slipping your hand out of his hair you reach for a little remote, making the camera zoom in as you close your thighs around him, burying his cock between your thighs. Cooing at him once again as his hands are braced on your hips, using this to bounce you on him, head tilted back and panting as he fucks your thighs.
The exposed skin of his neck calling for you to leave a few marks across, a little gift for him to remember this day by, or well more than the stream recording of course, pink and purple marks blooming across his neck as he changes the pace moving you more and more until you can feel him throbbing between your thighs.
"Oh, sweet thing you're cumming already? Are my thighs that good? Can't even hold on for the main performance, or are you that eager for more that you would cum now and still keep going? Hmm, what is it, pretty boy?"
The only answer you receive is a deep groan and the warm feeling of his cum seeping from between your thighs, spreading your legs to show off the mess to your cam, letting everyone who was watching see the mess that he had made. Reading your chat gave you a wonderful idea, they wanted more and you wanted to see just how far you could push your dear simp till he broke and lived up to his wants to actually fuck you.
Flicking across the remote once again the camera angle changes, showing a side view of the bed perfect for what you were planning to do, the angle giving your audience the best show as you move off his lap and kneel on the floor. Holding his cock with one hand as you lean forward to lick a stripe up his shaft, cleaning his mess off with your mouth, taking him fully once most of him was clean looking up at him through your lashes once you have taken him into your throat.
Watching how his eyes go wide, hands shaking when they reach for your head, his eyes flicking up to the chat screen reading over some of the words telling him to fuck your face, to make you cry and drool all over him, and other wanting to be where he was, whining over text that they should have been the one there with you. The majority calling for him to do something, building a need to move in him, slowly he is moving his hips, still sensitive after having cum not moments before but the feeling of your mouth wrapped around him was spurring him on.
Before long his hips are moving properly, holding your head steady as he fucks your mouth watching how you look up at him every time he pushes into your throat, tears building and falling with how harsh some of his thrusts are, but the image just makes him groan. Throwing his head back once again as he works himself back up, trying to hold out and enjoy this feeling for a little while longer, only you had other plans pulling away panting as you take in the way he looks.
Flicking your hands cross the remote once again to switch cameras for the final time settling on one that would let your audience watch how good your dear simp was for you, let them watch how full he makes you feel and how pretty he looks when he cums, when he finally gets what he wanted.
"You ready pretty boy, ready to finally get what you want? What you told me about on all your calls? Take you all the way like I should be taking you?"
"P-please, fuck just please le-let me fuck you..."
In his rush to reach for you, his beanie had come off, brown curls falling out in a mess that you tried to cover again only to have your hands smacked away in favour of him pulling you up onto the bed with him. Throwing your thighs over his own reaching for the bottle of lube you had left waiting to be used, coating his fingers before pressing them into you working you open with one hand as the other is pressed to your shoulder keeping you from moving away from his probing fingers.
"G-God look at you, do-don't even need to work my way up to two fingers, already so r-ready for them... Ready for me."
To quick are his fingers gone replaced by the head of his cock, easing his way in as he moans, hands grabbing your hips to steady himself as he finally gets to feel what it's like to be buried in you just like his toy replica had been so many times before. There is little time between him being fully hilted in you and him starting to move, his hands moving from your hips to under your thighs ignoring the sticky cum still staining them, pushing them back and using the new angle to fuck into you as hard as he liked.
Wanting to have you drooling into the mattress and calling his name, making you remember him and him alone so that if you ever did another show like this, it would be his number you called. That if he did this good enough, fucked you good enough that it wouldn't be on camera the next time he got to fuck you, it would be at your home in your bed, him calling your real name not this stage name you work under.
He comes back from his thoughts when your voice cuts through them, high pitched and whining for him to let you cum, for him to keep going to let you have what you had given him earlier, to feel him cum in you this time.
"F-fuck you w-want me to cum in you? P-paint your inside with me..."
The chat if either of you could see it was still it was running a mile a minute, calling for him to do it, to cum and let them see how it will drip out of you. Others call for him to deny you, keep you begging for your release while he took his own, but neither of you could see those words and so your ends draw near.
"T-that's it, god feels so. So good around me, j-just like I thought you would..."
The rough pace he set becomes almost brutal when he cums, there will be bruises in the shape of his hands come the next few days but that thought paired with the sight of your dear simp losing himself in you was what tipped you over.
The end of the stream was much like the beginning, albeit with a mess of brown curls keeping the camera from seeing how the mask had been pulled down and soft kisses were being placed along your shoulders, the moment you had given the final thanks and turned off all the gear the hands that were wrapped around your waist were pulling you back onto the bed, keeping you as close as possible.
After all the pressure of performing for people falls away, it's easy to give comfort to the man curled around you, wanting him to be comfortable with what you had just done. Once again tangling your hands in his hair only this time to give comfort rather than tease, cooing soft praise until the grip around you eases slightly.
"You did so well, such a good boy for me..."

Day 119: Hope
Harry was always alone.
It sounded a bit dramatic, a little pitiable, and more than a little untrue.
Because he was always out with friends. He had pub nights with large groups of people, he went and took those wine and paint classes with Luna and Ginny every other week, and a cooking class with Ron and Pansy on the off week. He met George, Ron, and Seamus for lunch on Thursday afternoons. Hermione dragged him to a book club with Draco once a month. He met Hermione for breakfast on Tuesdays and had dinner with Ron and Hermione every Monday (and often Fridays, too). Neville invited him for tea every Sunday and there was always someone different there with them.
Still, there was something that always separated him from his friends. All of his friends were buying houses, getting married, having babies, getting pets (or in Neville’s case carnivorous plants). And he was just... stuck.
“Well, well,” a smooth baritone voice said behind him, interrupting his sulk at the bar of the Leaky, and a smile tilted up the corner of Harry’s mouth against his will. “If it isn’t the savior himself.”
Harry rolled his eyes. “Are you going to sit down?” he asked, glancing over his shoulder at the other man.
Silver eyes gleamed in amusement, “that depends.”
“On?”
“Whether you’re going to buy me dinner. It has been a long day.”
(Read more below the cut)
“Oh?” Harry said, nudging the chair next to him back with his toe. “Well it’s a good thing I ordered the shepherd’s pie, then. You and I both know that’s always big enough for two.”
“Were you expecting me then?” Draco asked with a pleased grin as he plopped down in the chair next to him.
“Nope,” Harry said. Strictly speaking, this was true, he’d been hoping the other man might show up but not expecting him to. “I just like to have leftovers.”
Draco laughed at Harry as the bartender slid an old fashioned across the counter to him, “thank you,” Draco said, nodding to the man who all but ignored him.
Harry inhaled to say something about the man’s rudeness (an action he knew was futile since he’d done it several times) but Draco put a hand on his arm and took a sip of his drink. “Not worth it,” he said.
Harry sighed at him, “Tell me about work.”
Draco grinned, it was a sort of grin that Harry used to hate when they were younger. It was a grin that meant Draco had been particularly vicious in the courtroom today. With relish he began telling Harry about the woman and her child whom he had defended against a powerful, abusive husband. How he’d eviscerated the man on the stand and freed the two of them from his grasp.
“It was brilliant,” he finished with a sigh.
“Sounds like it,” Harry replied, resting his cheek in his hand.
Draco gave him a little smile. It had taken a long time to get here, even a year ago Draco would have been looking at him, trying to work out if Harry had meant it sincerely. “Tell me about your day,” he said.
“Oh, you know how it is,” Harry said, rubbing the back of his neck. “Sitting around in board meetings, trying to make sure that the people who actually know something get heard. Watching people who only want what’s best for themselves trying to make people believe they want what’s best for everyone.”
He laughed and took a sip of his drink, “I don’t understand how or why you do it.”
“Well someone’s got to, don’t they?” he asked. “Might as well use my fame to some advantage. Help people. You know,” he said, shrugging one shoulder and picking at the label on his beer.
“Come away with me,” Draco said suddenly.
“Sorry?”
The other man grinned at him, “I’m going on vacation. I’m leaving tomorrow for a week on the beach on an island. Come with me.”
“What? Why?”
The smile that had been so bright a moment ago started to dim, “Nevermind. It’s a stupid idea. Forget I said anyth-”
“Draco,” Harry said, realizing he’d misunderstood. He put his hand on his forearm. “I’d love to. Seriously, I would love nothing more than to go and spend a week on the beach with you. I just,” he trailed off, “why would you want me to?”
“Because you’re always moping. And you’re always doing things for everyone else. And you’re bloody lonely.” He shook his head, “And no one sees it.”
“Except you, apparently,” Harry huffed.
The corner of Draco’s mouth tipped up, “Except me. Come on,” he said.
“Seriously?”
“Yes, Potter. Fucking seriously.”
----------------------------
The beach was fantastic.
Harry had never been to the beach for a vacation and he enjoyed every sun soaked minute.
Draco watched him with an expression that Harry couldn't entirely parse out. It was amused, and fond, and exasperated, and something else entirely all at once. "I don't get you," Draco said eventually, after they'd spent half the day by the ocean; lounging, swimming, drinking, and laughing.
"What do you mean?"
Draco shrugged and took a sip of his sangria before he continued, "You're wealthy, you have time, you obviously enjoy it here; why haven't you done this before?"
He frowned, "Well who wants to go on a vacation alone?"
The corner of Draco's mouth tipped up, "I'd planned to go alone. I have actually taken several vacations alone."
"Sorry, I didn't mean-"
Draco waved him off, "It's fine. I'm not offended I just," he shrugged helplessly, "I find you fascinating."
"You find me fascinating?" he asked incredulously.
"Haven't I always?" he replied wryly.
He huffed but couldn't argue considering that he'd been equally obsessed with the other man for most of their lives at this point.
"You could have done anything," Draco said, "There's nothing that the wizarding world wouldn't have given you. If you'd wanted to go on vacation and not be alone you could have had your pick of witches or wizards who would have gladly gone with you. If you wanted to be married with half a dozen children all you would have needed to do was pick the person." He shook his head, "You could have done anything you wanted, been anything you wanted, had anything you wanted but you've chosen a career that makes you miserable and you've chosen to be alone which makes you miserable." He shook his head again, "I don't get it."
"But how can I know if I'm actually good enough?" Harry asked. "How can I know if I'm good at my job or if it was just given to me because I'm Harry Potter? How can I know if the person who agrees to marry me is with me because I'm me or because I'm Harry Potter?"
"All this time I thought that you weren't on to me," he teased.
He rolled his eyes, "You know what I mean."
"You know what I think?" Draco asked as he leaned back in his beach chair and slipped his sunglasses back in place.
"I couldn't possibly guess," he replied.
The corner of Draco's mouth tipped up, "I think you're just scared."
He frowned at the other man even though Draco wasn't looking at him, "Excuse me?"
"You heard me perfectly," he replied, "You're scared."
"Of what?" he asked incredulously.
"Of being loved," he said simply. "Afraid that if you let someone love you, you'll have to let them in. You'll have to let them see all the dark, broken, twisty bits because it's not love if it's not honest."
"Oh and I suppose you're so much better at that," he snapped.
Draco snorted, "Hardly. I'm just willing to live my life until I've found someone who I'll be able to share those jagged pieces with."
He glared at the leg of the other man's chair, "I don't want to talk about this anymore."
"Alright," Draco replied agreeably.
"I'm going for a walk."
He nodded and yawned, "I think I'm going to take a nap, the sun feels nice."
Harry got up and trudged away without another word, trying to decide if Draco Malfoy was full of shit or if he might just know what he was talking about.
The longer he walked and the more he turned what Draco had said over and over in his head, the more he knew that the only person whom he would trust to see his dark bits was Draco Malfoy.
----------------------
When he got back from his walk Draco was reading a book.
"You might be right," Harry said.
He hummed, "Not to brag but I usually make a point of being right."
Harry collapsed into the sand and stared out at the waves rolling in. "Can I ask you something?"
"Nothing has stopped you so far."
He huffed, "Have you ever been in love."
"Yes," the other man replied.
"How did you know?" Harry asked.
Draco hummed thoughtfully, "I woke up one day and realized that I loved his imperfections more than I loved the perfect image I'd created of him," he said. "I realized that I'm happiest when I'm with him, that he makes me feel brave in my fear and strong in my vulnerability."
"He sounds pretty great," Harry said, swallowing down the bitterness.
"He's also completely oblivious," Draco added. "And normally that would irritate me but his humility is part of his charm."
His heart beat a little quicker, "Is that so?"
Draco grinned, "Yes. And he's not too bad on the eyes, either," he added. "He's got a lovely complexion, fantastic long, dark hair. And his eyes," he let out a low whistle, "A bloke could get lost in those eyes and he wouldn't mind staying in the lovely green of summer."
Harry's mouth went dry and he couldn't quite find any words or summon any courage. Hope blossomed dangerously inside of his chest, expanding and expanding until Harry feared there wasn't room for a shred of doubt.
"He's rather fit, too," Draco continued, giving Harry a once over that even he wasn't oblivious enough to have missed. "And you wouldn't believe his arse," he added, "exquisite."
Harry laughed at that, "You're ridiculous," he said as he bent toward the other man. "I like you, too," he whispered.
"Took you long enough to figure it out," Draco teased.
He reached up and pulled Draco's sunglasses off his face, "I'm going to kiss you," he murmured.
"Took you long enough," he repeated before reaching up to cup Harry's cheek in his palm and draw Harry in.
With a sigh, Harry happily gave himself over to the kiss, over to Draco; knowing that his heart was finally in good hands.

Love, Theoretically | Sebastian Stan x reader (chapter 10 - FINALE)
series masterlist
series summary: having lost your husband, sister, and best friend all to the same extramarital affair, you ran away to a secluded villa in the Hungarian countryside to write and get a little time away from the life you’d left behind. you were only looking for peace and perhaps some inspiration for your novel, but instead you found an unlikely connection with the immigrant repairman– even though the two of you don’t speak the same language.

Six months later...
“It’s good!” she beamed, setting down the last chunk of pages and taking off her reading glasses. “Oh man, that ending hurt, but it’s really, really good!”
You leaned back into the plush chair and sighed with relief. “You think so?”
“It’s best-seller material,” she assured. “With some editing, of course. God, I can’t believe you were sitting on this for so long.”
“What are the biggest changes you want to make?” you asked.
“Well, I’m thinking we’ll cut the romantic subplot,” she mentioned in passing, like it was no big deal. “It’s distracting.
“Distracing?” you repeated. “Nia, it’s the story. It’s a romance.”
“I thought it was a thriller,” she frowned.
“A romance disguised as a thriller,” you corrected.
“Listen, I get what you mean, but I didn’t get this—” she tapped the nameplate on her desk: ‘NIA BROWN, HEAD PUBLISHER’ in shiny letters— “for nothing. I know what I’m talking about, and I know what your readers want. Violence, gore, drama!”
“It has all that!” you defended. “But it’s all there to talk about the real love he finds in her!”
“What do you mean ‘real love’?” she pressed flatly.
“I mean…” you pondered. “I mean love where you feel like a version of yourself that you actually like. Love where you feel unjudged, no precedents or caveats or back-up plans. Love that fucking hurts because you never wanted to rely on anything or anybody. Love that lives in silence because you don’t even need words.”
She furrowed her brow. “That… sounds nice, I guess, but I don’t think anybody really has that. Everybody needs a back-up plan. Everybody needs words— a writer should know that.”
“Oh my god. Oh my god,” you groaned, your face falling into your hands. “I’m so fucking stupid. Jesus Christ, I’m a moron.”
“What? What’s going on?”
“I had that! I had that, and I let it go! I’m the dumbest bitch on the fucking face of the Earth.”
“Don’t say that,” she soothed, but you were already standing up.
“No, I need to find him,” you decided as you grabbed your coat and briefcase. “I need to go back and try to fix this. I love him, I’ve never— I didn’t know I could love like that, I didn’t know I could be loved like that… oh my god, I need to find him. It isn’t over.”
“It isn’t over?” she repeated incredulously. “You said Michael signed the papers!”
“It’s not Michael,” you rolled your eyes as you stormed out of the office. “It was never Michael.”
You ran into the first telephone box you could find, slamming the door shut as you searched your purse for the business card that probably wasn't even in there.
After a moment, you gasped with delight when you pulled it from a very bottom pocket and began punching in the number as fast as possible with shivering hands, long-distance charges be damned.
“Hello?” the confused voice on the other end answered.
“Mrs. Alberti, hi— does Sebastian still work for you?” you asked hastily.
“No, dear," she sighed, apparently recognizing you by just your voice (and likely your request), "he quit recently, and moved away.”
“Moved?" you repeated with a wrinkled brow. "Where?!”
“I assume back home, sweetheart; to Bucharest.”
“Shit,” you sighed. “Shit!”
“Are you having your ‘run through the airport’ moment, sweetheart?” she realized.
“Yes, I think so— do you have his address?”
“Well, no, but I’ll see what I can find.”
You waited rather impatiently as she shuffled through papers in the background, mumbling to herself as she apparently searched for information that could help you.
“All I’ve got is the address of a previous employer… a carpenter,” she finally explained, breaking the silence. “It was his only reference when he came to work here," she explained.
"Wow, you really did just hire him for his looks," you blurted out.
"He was desperate for work, that boy had nowhere else to go,” she defended.
“Right, well, I guess if that’s my only lead then I’ve gotta go for it,” you decided. “Thank you, Mrs. Alberti.”
“I told you to call me when that book was a hit. Did it happen yet?” she piped up.
“It’s not published yet,” you explained. “It needs some more work… but I think it’s almost ready.”
“I think so, too, dear.”
Learn Romanian in 10 Weeks! A practical language guide.
Week 1, Day 1: Greetings
Hello Salut
Goodbye La revedere
Thank you Mulțumesc
You’re welcome Cu plăcere
Good morning Bună dimineata
Good afternoon Bună ziua
Good evening Bună seara
Good night Noapte bună
You brushed your hair back out of your face with a sigh, turning the page as you mumbled the phrases to yourself. Broken Hungarian and your high school education in Latin were not getting you as far with this as you had been hoping.
How are you? Ce mai faci
I love you Te iubesc
“Te iubesc, te iubesc, te iubesc,” you repeated over and over in a whisper.
Each day you had a new routine: practice Romanian for an hour, check flight prices online (or call the airline), research what you knew about Sebastian and the address Mrs. Alberti had given you, and then get back to practicing Romanian again.
Oh, and occasionally you worked on the edits Nia wanted for your manuscript. You were focusing on the minor changes— grammar errors, rearranging sentences— and putting off her big request for the removal and replacement of the romantic aspects. More than ever, they seemed like the most important thing the book had to offer.
You had a small apartment, just a place to sleep and shower really; much too small to fit everything you’d already taken from Michael’s house (you know, the one that used to be your house) along with what he’d shipped to you that you forgot before. He included a letter in the package as well. You threw it out, unopened.
Truthfully, you never really fully unpacked. As much as you realized you probably should, in order to really feel like you had a real home, you couldn’t bring yourself to empty your suitcases when you knew you’d be packing them again any day now.
You also realized how outrageous this all was. Ignoring the unlikelihood of even finding him in the first place, Sebastian probably wouldn’t want anything to do with you after you broke his heart, left, and then randomly tracked him down after over half a year. But to be totally transparent, you weren’t really doing this to get him back, necessarily. You knew that was probably never going to happen. You were doing this because you needed to try. You needed to go there, and get hurt, and come back knowing you did everything you could: you’d never be able to live with yourself if you did anything less than that.
You couldn’t start your new life until you had put everything else to bed. And if that meant being 100%, painfully certain that you and Sebastian could never be together, then that was just how it needed to be.
After two weeks of looking, there still weren’t any reasonable flights to Bucharest, so you booked another trip by train, figuring you could use the three day trip to brush up on the key Romanian phrases you were going to need as well as prepare your speech.
Yes, your plan was a speech. You didn’t have a back-up plan. You didn’t even have a return ticket back to London yet.
A passage by Yeats came to mind; But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.
In all your life, you’d never understood before why someone would want to only have their dreams. But now, here you were… and yes, it felt terrifying and vulnerable and uncomfortably naked, but it felt pretty damn good, too.
With a sigh, you scribbled out the last sentence you’d written, tossing the trash paper aside. You looked up out the window at the scenery flying by in a blur, worried that if you didn’t look out from the train every once in a while you’d get motion sickness.
The sun was beginning to set already, the green of hills and trees tinted orange. You only indulged in it for a moment, though, before getting back to this god-forsaken speech you were deadset on finishing before you arrived in Bucharest tomorrow. At first, you’d figured the translating would be the most difficult part… but writing in English wasn’t exactly a piece of cake, either. You had so much to say, and suddenly so few words for any of it.
You’d probably done more editing on this than any of your novels combined; the crumpled up pages spilling out of your wastebasket were proof enough of that.
“And I’m a fucking writer!” you groaned aloud, to no one in particular. “How is anybody else supposed to be able to do this, if I can’t?”
Other people aren’t as emotionally constipated as you, the voice of your inner critic reminded you plainly, making you roll your eyes at yourself.
A rap at your door made you sit up straighter and turn around. A stewardess slid open the frosted glass slightly to give you a friendly smile. “Is everything alright, ma’am?”
Your brows furrowed at the sound of her accent. “Is that a Romanian accent?” you asked.
“Yes, ma’am,” she nodded.
“So you’re fluent in Romanian and English,” you concluded.
“And Portuguese, yes ma’am,” she agreed.
“Could you come in here for a moment and help me translate something?”
She seemed slightly confused at the request but stepped forward, sliding the door most of the way shut behind her. Leaning beside you on the desk, she picked up your handwritten letter and blinked her wide, brown eyes a few times. You felt slightly embarrassed knowing she was reading such intimate thoughts, but that was how it felt the first time someone read anything you wrote so you were pretty much used to it by now.
“I usually ask the passengers what brings them to Bucharest,” she mumbled after a moment. “This is the most interesting thing so far. Am I reading this correctly, that you intend to confess your love to someone you met—” she scanned the page quickly— “during a vacation in Hungary?”
“Yup,” you smiled awkwardly, popping the ‘p’ at the end of the word.
“And he doesn’t speak English?” she assumed; you nodded. “And… you don’t speak Romanian?”
You nodded again, and she breathed in and out quickly, sitting beside you as she stared at the letter.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before,” she explained.
“Sorry for sucking you into the entropic vortex that is my life,” you chuckled.
“I don’t mean to pry,” she sighed, setting the letter down, and you laughed a little internally at the idea that she was worried about prying when she just read the most personal piece of writing you’d ever put to the page, “but do you think this is… enough? I mean, to build a relationship on?”
You just gave her a shrug. “I have no idea. But, you know, I spent my whole life worrying about stuff like that. I dated my husband for seven years before we got married, because I wanted to be sure. I was initially interested in him because he was successful and ambitious, and it made me feel like this was a really secure relationship that I could rely on. I double majored in English and Computer Science because I wanted a more stable career to fall back on in case being a writer didn’t work out, and even though it did, I’ve spent most of my career publishing what I thought people wanted to read instead of what I wanted to write, so I’d have a better shot at a good paycheck. I grew up thinking the best thing I could ever have was security. And now I’m divorced, watching my royalties shrink every month, more insecure in every way than I’ve ever been, and I’m realizing that the choices I made didn’t give me what I wanted. I gave up so much in the name of safety, and I let the one good thing I’d ever found go, so I could go back to being the same person I always was. I’m ready to settle again, if this doesn’t work… I’m ready to accept that this is just the way life goes, and be thankful that I got a taste of the kind of stuff I thought only existed in the sort of books I’d read but never write.”
She swallowed as she looked at you, and you felt your eyes water as you stared out the window towards the dimming scenery one more time, smiling at the sight of a distant village, a church with a steeple, vineyards and farms. Someone’s whole life is in that little town, you imagined, and they’re just watching your train go by like they see every other day.
“Sebastian gave me more security than I’d ever had before, even though the whole thing was such a ridiculous little whirlwind, and nothing like I ever imagined my life could be. But he made me want to be honest and raw and write sappy letters like the one you just read. He doesn’t have any money, at least as far as I know, and I haven’t known him for seven years, and on paper it makes no sense… but you would understand if you knew him. If you felt that joy that he radiates, if you saw him live his simple little life like it’s the best thing in the world. You would understand if you knew how much I needed this. You would understand if you had been just as miserable being who I’ve been for so long, and finally had a chance to be somebody you think you were maybe meant to be the whole time. So, if I never see him again, I hope I just get to thank him.”
You waited for her to say something, but furrowed your brow at the long moment of silence, looking back from the window finally and finding her staring at you with a tear running down her cheek. When you met her gaze, she quickly wiped it away with a sniffle and looked down at your desk again. “Let’s get to translating, shall we?” she announced with a half-smile.
You noticed the way the other passengers looked at you as everyone was in line to deboard from the train car; you stuck out like a sore thumb, since everybody else was carrying heavy luggage and all you had was a backpack.
In your defense, you really had no idea how to pack for a trip where you knew neither the duration nor the true final destination. So, it was mainly filled with your essentials, a few clothes for any kind of weather, and enough leu to buy anything else you needed along the way.
The stewardess was waving goodbye to everyone as they shuffled out into the train station, occasionally stopping to shake a hand or give directions to nearby destinations. When you were just about to pass by, though, she pulled you into a tight hug.
“Good luck,” she whispered, holding you just a moment too long before pulling back and giving you an encouraging look. “If he doesn’t take you back, feel free to blame my translation… because if he knows what’s in your heart, I know he’ll say yes.”
“Yeah, that’s the hard part isn’t it?” you laughed weakly. “Thank you for your help. I guess if I come back alone for the return trip tonight, you’ll know how bad it went.”
“Then I hope I don’t see you again,” she winked.
It being a major train station and all, cabs were waiting around every corner so it was pretty easy to grab one and give them the address you already had written down for this exact purpose.
“This is pretty far,” the driver explained, “on the edge of town. Not a tourist spot.”
“Good, because I’m not a tourist,” you nodded, already only giving him half your attention as you pulled out the translated speech to practice.
“And you can afford this?” he pressed. You sighed and dug through your bag, pulling out a haphazard stack of bills and handing them through the plastic partition.
“Is this enough?” you asked, and he didn’t answer, just taking the money and starting the car as you smiled and leaned back in your seat.
As much as you had tried to convince yourself to not get your hopes up, the butterflies in your stomach felt more like whole birds at this point, demanding to break free as you practiced the words hand-written on the page over and over again, committing it all to memory.
“What are you reading?” the cab driver asked after several minutes.
“Oh, nothing,” you mumbled, “sorry if I’m bothering you, you can turn on the radio.”
“No, it’s not bothering me, but what you are saying… it’s very odd. It sounds like something from a play, or movie,” he explained.
“Um, it’s not,” you replied, a little embarrassed. “But does it sound like it’s from a good movie? Like, if you heard a character say this to another character, would you think they should get together?”
“I… don’t know,” he answered, sounding confused. “I mean, it depends on what happened, right? How they met, how well they get along…”
So, you told him the whole story, as succinctly as possible (which is not very succinct at all). By the end, he was actually giving commentary as you spoke.
“Why the hell did you leave?” he interjected, clearly irritated with you. “You loved him!”
“Yeah, well, sometimes love isn’t enough! I loved my husband too, and look how that turned out,” you defended.
“But that’s different. That was love for all the wrong reasons.”
“I promise, it felt very real at the time,” you shrugged.
“And now?” he countered. “You realize that this man— Sebastian, right?— is real.”
“I hope I’m right this time,” you offered. “But even if I am, he may not agree.”
The driver scoffed, taking a hand off the wheel to wave dismissively. “If he’s anything like you said, then he will still be completely in love with you. After all, you still feel the same way after all this time apart, don’t you?”
“If anything, I love him more every day,” you admitted, your heart beating quickly just to say it aloud.
“You know, when I met my wife, she was engaged to another man. He was rich, good-looking, and he wasn’t even a bad guy unlike this husband you describe. He was a good man, but he wasn’t right for her. They were… content together, but she wasn’t truly happy. Every night I would come to her window and beg her to marry me, because I knew that she knew we were meant for each other, but she was scared because her family wouldn’t approve and she would be a poor man’s wife.”
“How did you convince her to marry you instead?” you asked eagerly, sucked into the story already.
“I didn’t. On the day of the wedding, some people told me to go and break it up but I didn’t. I thought it would be wrong, to try to ruin her happiness and take it for myself by making a scene at the wedding. I realized she was her own woman and if she wanted to choose him, I had to let her. I had locked myself in my house, not wanting to see anyone that day, and she appeared at my door. I didn’t need to convince her because she knew the truth in her heart, and called off the wedding herself.”
“Wow,” you smiled.
“She was still in her dress!” he recalled with a hearty laugh. “She looked like an angel. We were married just a few days later. And next month will be thirty years,” he added as he lifted his left hand to show the golden band on his finger.
“Thirty years, that’s… a long time,” you sighed.
“It wasn’t always easy,” he admitted. “But it was always worth it.”
Just as you wondered what you could possibly say to that, you felt the car slow down to a stop.
“This is the address you gave me, this is it,” he explained, pointing out his passenger-side window. You leaned up against the glass and gasped in dawning fear as you saw the storefront dark and empty inside.
“No, nonono,” you whispered rapidly to yourself as you swung open the door and hopped out, pressing your face against the glass to try to get a look inside and finding what was undeniably a closed carpentry business. There was a note on the door, taped on the inside of the glass, and you knew enough Romanian to know it said something about a vacation and three months.
“Shit!” you yelped, holding your face in your hands, wondering if your journey had come to an end before it really began.
“Are you alright?” the driver asked, rolling down his window to speak to you.
“This was my only lead, I don’t have his real address,” you explained. “He used to work here, I thought maybe someone would know him…”
He sighed, giving you a sympathetic look. “Get back in, we can search nearby. You came too far to give in yet.”
But getting back in the car felt like giving in, too, which you realized as you looked back at the note taped to the carpenter's door. This was the closest you'd gotten, and it felt wasteful to leave with nothing.
Just as you were ready to hop in the passenger seat and start searching aimlessly through suburban Bucharest, or maybe look around for a Romanian yellow pages, you heard a noise from behind you, across the street; a laugh. His laugh. But it couldn’t be because it was too good to be true… and yet you found yourself whipping your head around and hoping beyond all reason that it was Sebastian.
Across the street was a restaurant, with a large patio where patrons were dining and chatting as they sat at wrought iron tables, and your eyes searched the crowd for any signs of him.
And then your gaze landed on a head of thick brunette hair, red and gold highlights so obvious now when the sunlight hit it this way. Broad shoulders wrapped in a white button-up shirt. He was facing away from you but he was looking to the side so you could see his face; he was smiling, laughing at something someone had said. And it was his smile that you recognized; it was like everything else faded away, and in that moment you thought maybe you could almost be happy with just this, just seeing him be happy even if it had nothing to do with you.
“Sebastian,” you called out to him, but he didn’t react. “Sebastian!”
His whole body turned, his eyes met yours, and you couldn't help but let the tears well in your eyes as you ran across the road to him.
He looked, understandably, stunned, and you realized he was actually waiting on a table at the moment; he said something to them, apparently excusing himself, and stepped closer to you.
But he stopped walking, not coming any closer, not exactly dragging you into his arms like you might've preferred, but with a breath to try to soothe your racing mind, you summoned your memories of the practiced letter and began. *
“Când am venit în Ungaria…” you started slowly, doing your best to remember the words and hoping your pronunciation wasn’t too awful, “nu căutam dragoste. Căutam spațiu, claritate și poate o idee de carte de un milion de dolari. În schimb, am găsit tot ce am căutat toată viața mea…”
You did your best to bite back tears, especially when his expression was nearly unreadable and you had no idea how well this was going.
“Ești tu, Sebastian, bineînțeles că ești tu,” you sighed, laughing slightly.
The first thing he said was your name, and just the way he said it made you fall in love with him all over again.
“I… I dream that you would come back,” he shakily replied. “But now I cannot believe. You are my dream.”
Tears were openly flowing at this point and you wanted to run into his arms, but you tried to stay calm and hear him out. He stepped closer, almost hesitant, like you would run away if he got too close too fast.
“I love you, very much that I am sure I am insane person,” he explained with a grin, and you giggled. “We will live anywhere, do anything you would like— be my wife.”
You gasped as he pulled you into him, gripping your arms tightly as his desperation became apparent.
“Marry me?” he asked softly.
“Da,” you nodded, “yes, of course, anything—”
He kissed you suddenly, but gently, and it said more than any words in any language could.
It was a small wedding, in the Hungarian countryside by the lake. You could remember diving into that lake for lost pages of your manuscript; you could remember looking out over the water and dreaming of this moment you were living right now, thinking it was impossible.
He didn’t have much family, but they welcomed you with open arms.
Your family, well, they were too busy with planning another wedding, for your ex-husband and your ex-sister. A few of them sent cards but the rest were suspiciously quiet. You honestly didn’t even notice… you had a new family to attend to, anyhow. And it wasn’t like you didn’t have any guests, since you were able to track down and invite a stewardess named Maria, and a cab driver named Andrei and his wife, Paola.
Sebastian’s cousins weaved flowers into your hair and his grandmother tailored her dress to fit you like a glove. A picture of his parents was hung nearby in tribute; he told you they would’ve wanted to see him get married but that he felt, in some way, they were able to even if they had passed away quite some time ago.
You realized you’d never seen him in anything even mildly formal before; in fact, the suit he wore was rather casual, all things considered, but he looked so painfully cute in it. Sometimes you thought he actually looked a bit out of place wearing a shirt, though, especially one that was buttoned up all the way.
Luckily, the shirt was halfway unbuttoned about ten minutes into the reception.
Mrs. Alberti cooked a massive dinner for everyone, and even grew the flowers that you carried down the cobblestone aisle.
And wow, can Romanians drink. You had to be careful not to try to keep up with them, because if you had you would’ve been blacked out halfway into the night and the last thing you wanted was to forget even a moment of this.
As the night started to wind down to a close, you and your new husband retired to the lakehouse, running up the stairs and finding them as creaky as always.
He wrapped his arms around you in the hall and kissed you eagerly as you stumbled back into the bedroom, tripping over the doorway and falling onto the bed together.
It felt so right to have his weight on top of you, to feel his smile against your lips, to wrap your arms around his neck.
“This room,” he mumbled into the kiss. “Do you remember first time?”
“Yes,” you nodded, “da, I remember, how could I forget?”
He grinned and moved his lips down to your neck. "I thought of you every day… I love you,” he whispered.
“Te iubesc,” you whispered back.
It was almost like the first time in so many ways: passionate, yet oddly hesitant as you rediscovered each other. It was comfortable, though… you couldn’t think of any other person you felt so comfortable with, somebody who finally got you out of your own head and who made you want to experience everything life had to offer.
You were sure you’d never gone so long without worrying about something in all your life.
“My wife,” he whispered against your skin. “This is all I had wanted… from seeing you in very beginning.”
“You’re all I ever wanted,” you sighed in return, “ești tot ce mi-am dorit vreodată, Sebastian.”
Life with Sebastian was beautifully simple. You spent most of the day writing, usually, while he built furniture to sell and occasionally gardened with his spare time. You could always tell how busy you’d been with a new novel lately by how perfectly groomed the hydrangea bushes were.
You’d told him once that you’d come to Hungary looking for a million-dollar book idea. A Killer in Disguise performed alright, but not anywhere near that. The Language of Love, on the other hand, was definitely a million-dollar idea… about eleven times over. Sebastian didn’t seem to worry too much about how much money you made, though; he was just proud to say that he was the inspiration for your hit novel. You secretly suspected that he was more proud of your work reaching enough international notoriety to be translated into Romanian.
His English still needed some work, but you found it endearing. He was determined to get better and spent at least a half-hour each day practicing, but you hoped he wouldn’t get too perfect because you would miss the silly little mistakes he made. At least you could be sure he’d keep the accent forever… damn, that accent; and he knew exactly what it did to you, too.
In fact, you were crossing through the hall in your robe one evening when your husband’s voice stopped you.
“Darling wife,” you heard Sebastian call from the bedroom in a playful sing-song.
“What is it, Seba?” you asked with a smirk.
“Come in here, please…”
You opened the bedroom door to find most of the room covered in rose petals: most of all the bed, which was surrounded by candles, and topped with a shirtless (as per usual) Sebastian, laid on his side seductively with a long-stemmed rose (one you recognized from his very own garden) between his teeth.
“What are you doing?” you laughed. “Is this some sort of special occasion I’ve forgotten?”
You were already searching your mind for what it could be, but your two-year anniversary had passed a few months ago already and since it was spring it couldn’t be the anniversary of when you first met since that was late in the summer.
“Iss not quite a thpecial occathion yeth,” he answered before taking the rose from his mouth so he actually made sense. “I was considering it could be a special occasion, when we’re done…”
You smirked and climbed over the candles and into bed with him, taking the opportunity to run your hands over his chest. “And what occasion would that be?”
“A year from now, it could be the anniversary of when our child was conceived,” he answered.
Your breath caught in your throat, your voice reduced to a whisper of surprise. “Seba—”
“If you’re not ready, I will be understand,” he instantly added, stern yet soft. “Only if you want this, I just thought that maybe—”
You silenced him with a kiss, lacing your fingers into his hair and letting him roll you onto your back. He pulled back just enough to let you answer, but your noses were still bumping into each other and you smiled.
“I’m ready, Sebastian. More than ready,” you whispered.
He grinned and kissed you again, deeper and slower as he held your face with one hand and gripped your waist with the other. As his lips trailed down to your neck, you were interrupted with one pressing thought.
“Can I ask you something?”
He popped up and looked down at you with a smile. “Sure!”
“Why are you wearing ratty old jeans?” you laughed.
“Hey, these worked on you the first time,” he defended.
You gasped. “You don’t mean those are the jeans—”
“Yes,” he nodded, “the jeans that I had been wearing when I was working on Mrs. Alberti’s cottage. And, truly, when I was finding an excuse to work outside your window.”
“Wait,” you sat up, “did you actually work outside my window on purpose?”
He laughed, hanging his head quickly before looking back at you again with a sparkle in his eye. “You are very smart, my love, except for those times when you are— how do you say? Oblivious.”
You chuckled, unfortunately very aware that he was right.
“Didn’t you ever wonder why I was building a window frame, nearly a dozen metres away from the window it was for?”
You thought for a moment before dropping your face into your hands and laughing. “No, I didn’t notice that. I was too busy giving you a thorough eye-fuck,” you recalled.
“Yes, because I was not wearing a shirt and this distracted you,” he pondered, sounding suddenly like a scientist explaining a theorem or something. “See, that’s the beauty of wearing the jeans and no shirt. The body distracts you while the jeans seduce you.”
“How about you take the jeans off and put that body on me, capisce?” you pleaded; not that you didn’t love his humor or anything, but maybe his funny bone wasn’t exactly the bone you were interested in at the moment.
He grinned devilishly and suddenly pulled your legs apart, settling his body between them as he kissed your neck again, nipping at your jawline and ear. “You’re being impatient, dragă,” he purred. “You want to have my baby that badly?”
You whined involuntarily, arching your back as his hands roamed your body and finally began to untie your robe and push the silk out of the way. “Yes, Sebastian, please—”
“Let’s just say, theoretically, I wanted to have more than one? Would you have another of my children?” he asked softly as he reached up and palmed at your breasts, teasing your nipples which were already much too hard and sensitive for how little he’d touched you. The rough denim rubbing against the inside of your thighs was oddly arousing— maybe it was the sensation itself, or maybe it was just that this was almost like the first thing you imagined when you saw Sebastian all those years ago.
“Yes,” you moaned out your answer, “yes, you know I’d do anything for you.”
“What if I wanted a big family?” he pressed. “Really big? Like, Catholic big?”
“We can have our own fuckin’ Brady Bunch, Seb, I just need you right now,” you begged, grabbing the back of his neck and pulling him into a hot and desperate kiss.
He decided to wait until afterwards to ask what a ‘Brady Bunch’ was. You decided to wait until afterwards to ask when he’d learned how to use the word ‘theoretically’.

CHAPTER 1
CHAPTER 2
“Insane madness of the living can be more, more terrible than the bloody hunger of the undead...”
― Silvia Liam
The rules of hunting down prey are simple. First, you observe to take note of their weakness, then you stalk...waiting for the right opportunity to take your shot. Hunting is more often about a game of time than aim sometimes. You jump too soon and you risk scaring your target to a successful escape, or you do it too late that you let them fully slip through your grasp. Hunting... has always been about perfect timing.
"You already know the rules of the game, right boy?"
The frail form of a seven year old child cowered against the foot of a dead tree, eyes shaking as it regarded the man leering at him. The sky was a deep dark velvet above them, and the only source of light came from the full moon that dipped in and out between the passing clouds. A bell dingled from the tight chain strapped around his left ankle when he moved, the sound causing the smile on the man's face twist into a wicked grin.
The hum of a gun being cocked sent the boy to give a choked sob. He shakily tried to stand up from his spot and pressed his palm against the rough bark of the tree to support himself, his wide eyes set on the looming form that has taken a step closer to where he stood.
"It's the first sturgeon moon tonight, so we are going to change the rules a little bit, okay?" Those words only made the child shake harder, the thin shirt he had now clinging to him like second skin due to the cold sweats gripping him.
"You run. And if I catch you, you die," the man cooed as he craned his face a bit to the side, causing the light from the moon to illuminate his features briefly. He looked handsome, inhuman, like he was one of the fallen souls exiled to earth at the beginning of times.
The man moved the arm holding his hunting gun and used it to lift the chin of the boy still cowering in front of him. He smiled—a smile so beautiful and dangerous it can make angels weep.
"But if you die, then your brothers will be the one running in this forest to take your place. So...make sure I don't catch you, hmm?"
Tears finally streamed down the bruised cheeks of the child as he realized what he was up to tonight. Eyes wide with fear, he pushed himself off the tree he was leaning on and started making a run for it.
He could still hear his words even as he dove deep into the woods, the bell on his feet masking his thundering footsteps.
"Seven bullets! You have one minute to hide, son~!"
Gunshots pierced the night air like a wailing scream.
------
Bang!
Jeno lowered his hunting rifle and let go of his breath slowly. Despite the shadows cast by the towering trees surrounding him, his eyes could still clearly see the slight flailing of the fawn he just shot before it went completely still. Above him, a flock of crows looked down on the fallen prey with their beady eyes, as if gauging the best time to dive for their feast.
He slowly picked himself up from his hiding spot, a wide oak tree with overarching branches that hid him from sight. He's been crouched there for a good half hour or so, just waiting for the fawn to finally circle the area. He's been observing it for the past week or so, taking note of its routes, and today he decided to make the kill.
Unlike other hunters, Jeno prefers the thrill that comes with stalking his prey over simply making a successful game. For him, the fun of hunting is in the process and not in its ending—a kill , after all, means nothing if you didn't work hard for it.
He looked down on the small fawn now as it lay lifeless on the mossy forest ground with its glassy eyes still open. Leaning over, he lightly pressed his hand over it to feel its heartbeat just to check if he killed it properly.
It was so beautiful and graceful just prancing in the forest a few days ago….it would be a shame if it suffers now.
"Hey, you got it?" A voice from the edge of the clearing made him look around. Haechan emerged from between the trees, his own hunting rifle slung over his shoulder.
"Yup. What did you get?"
The other boy lifted a brown sack and gave it a light shake.
"Got three rabbits. I'm too lazy to skin them here so I'll just ask Taeyong-hyung to do it. Want to go back now?"
Jeno turned to look back at the fawn in front of him briefly before finally shaking his head. He didn't really want to go back to the mansion yet, so he decided to just throw an excuse to the other for now.
"You go ahead. I'll just skin it right here," he said casually over his shoulder at his brother. Haechan, too cold and too bored to stay another minute in the humid woods, gave a wave of his hand before turning back. Unlike Jeno, he prefers the comforts and luxuries of the manor over anything else.
"I'll go ahead then. Try to get back before nightfall, the forest can be a dangerous place~" he said in a sing-song voice, knowing full well it was a useless warning he just gave.
Jeno simply ignored him and silently pulled his skinning knife from his belt so he could get to work. Nights in the forest have never scared him, he knew it like the back of his hand.
If anything, it is the creatures there who should be terrified of him.
------
You glanced over at Jisung and Chenle who were currently immersed in their readings over the page you’ve been scanning. The sun is about to set in just a few minutes and you have the last session of the day scheduled for the pair before you could pack up and go home. Your lips slightly quirked into a smile as you watched Jisung lean over slightly into the other to silently ask about something, Chenle looking up from his pages to roll his eyes before patiently answering. The two have such different personalities from each other, which adorably and ironically, makes them work so well together.
If you're going to be honest with yourself now, you'd say it is your time with the two youngest that you enjoy the most as Rosewood's tutor. Chenle and Jisung were withdrawn and shy at first, but the pair slowly started warming up to you as time went by. Maybe it's because they are younger, but you prefer the innocent air around them every time you would have your lessons. Chenle is the chattier and the more confident of the two, but with his help, even the shy Jisung also started lightly joking around with you on his best days.
That's not to say that you hate your time with the rest of the brothers. You've only ever had one session with Mark—which went so well as expected from the eldest—while the rest have always been polite and casual. There isn’t really anything about your job and connection with any of the boys that should put you on edge and yet... you have to admit that there are still those rare moments when you just feel as if something is out of place. You couldn't really place your finger on it, nor have you blatantly caught anything suspicious, but sometimes you just feel odd whenever you are around any of the four middle children. It’s something similar to being watched...like there is an imaginary pair of eyes always pinned to the back of your head, or the ghost feeling of hands hovering around your throat.
Your eyes flickered now to the grand clock on the far side of the room which finally struck five. Closing your own book which you have been scouring over, you called out towards the two who quickly looked up from their work.
"Alright, time's up. Have you answered the first two questions at least?" You asked with a smile. Chenle groaned and pointed at Jisung accusingly.
"I only got three questions because he kept disturbing me, noona."
Jisung frowned and you had to keep your laugh back with how offended he looked.
"Hey, I wasn't disturbing you. I was just asking questions."
"Okay, okay. Don't fight now. Do you want an extension for the chapter quiz? We do have our next lesson the day after tomorrow."
Their faces simultaneously lit up.
"Can we do that?" Chenle asked.
"Yes, but I'll have to leave you the assignment of reading another chapter and finishing the questionnaire for that as well. That'll be your homework, okay?" You tried your best to put on your best impression of a stern look, which only made the two giggle.
"Okay, noona."
"You promise you'll do it?"
Jisung put up his right hand and placed his left one over his heart.
"We promise."
That made you chuckle. "Well then, that will be all for today. I'll see you again tomorrow, okay? I'll have lessons with your brothers but just come to me if you have any questions." You gathered the rest of the papers that you have sprawled on the desk you were using before waving the two goodbye.
You were in the middle of trying to fit in a rather stubborn pile of files on your bag that you didn't really notice the tall figure that entered from the front door. When you finally looked up, it was already too late for you to stop crashing straight first into someone's chest, if not for the strong hands that held you steady. You felt an arm settle on your waist, and another on your back as you almost toppled when you hastily stepped back.
"Oh! I am so sorr—" you looked up with wide eyes to see Jeno looking down on you. Your words died in your throat when your eyes caught the red stain on his neck and you gasped.
"Jeno, what happened?!" Your voice raised in panic as you stared wide eyed at the blood running down the side of his neck. He gave you a slight look of confusion before raising a hand to touch the area you've been staring at.
"Ah… this…"
You didn't wait for him to finish. Quickly, you grabbed his hand and turned on your heels to drag him to the opposite direction. You didn't look back to see his surprised expression, and before he could even say anything, you had already pushed him into one of the expansive bathrooms down the nearest hallway.
"Sit there."
You pushed him urgently on the closed toilet seat before you proceeded to rummage on the hidden compartment behind the mirror that Taeyong showed you before. You quickly grabbed the box of first aid kit there and hastily opened an antiseptic wipe.
"Uhm...noona…"
You didn't pay him any attention, too focused on what you needed to do. You quickly kneeled in front of him so that you were more eye-level with each other before finally pressing the damp wipe against his injury.
"Shh. This might sting a little. We have to see how deep your wound is and stop the bleeding," you said, a small frown creasing your brows as your fingers gently dabbed at his skin. You were so focused on what you were doing that you didn't notice the light in his eyes shift as he looked at you closely.
His gaze dropped to your slightly parted lips, then at the look of concentration on your features.
Are you...worried about him?
Your frown deepened as you finally managed to wipe most of the blood away from his skin. The antiseptic sheet you were using has already turned dark red from the liquid, but still you haven't—
"It's not my blood," Jeno said plainly, his voice suddenly sounding too close to you. You looked up to him in confusion, and for the first time you realized how close the two of you were. His gaze didn't waver from your face, pinning you into the spot where you are kneeling in front of him.
"Not your…"
"I was hunting. I was skinning the game I caught but my hand slipped and I hit a major vein. This is deer blood."
If your face wasn't burning after realizing how close the two of you were at the moment, it is definitely on fire now. You opened your mouth to say something, then closed it again in embarrassment. Jeno continued staring at you and you watched as his lips ever so slightly curled into a smirk.
That made you suddenly stand up from your crouch. He calmly followed you with his gaze, a mix of curiosity and amusement in his brown eyes.
"I-I'm so sorry. I thought you were injured so I panicked," you stuttered as your eyes fell on the bloody wipe that is still on your hands. You quickly ducked to throw it away just so you could avoid his gaze.
Jeno followed your every move closely before slightly leaning his head to the side. He seems to be mulling over something, face now devoid of any telling emotions.
"Were you concerned about me?" He asked, tone curious. You glanced at him in surprise, stunned that he would ask such a question. It was bad enough that you stumbled over your words when you finally managed a reply.
"Of course I was concerned. Anyone would be."
Jeno slowly stood up from where he sat and for the first time, you realized just how much he towered over you. It didn't help that the two of you were in a much smaller space than usual which sent a wave of claustrophobia to wash you over briefly. You involuntarily took a step back, eyes only high enough to meet the base of his neck.
"Why though?" He asked again, and you could genuinely hear the curiosity in his tone. You frowned. He was asking...as if he isn't used to such a level of care. As if things like this are so foreign to him.
"Because you are my student. And I wouldn't want to see anyone hurt."
For a moment, Jeno didn't say anything else. He simply looked at you while you tried so hard not to flinch under his heavy gaze.
Then, as if a switch had been turned, he took a step to the side to free some space between the two of you. Your eyes shot to his face when he did that, and you were met by his boyish smile that crinkled his eyes into half moons.
That made you blink. You see it on him whenever he is with the rest of his brothers, but it was the first time he ever smiled that way to you.
"Thank you, noona. I appreciate it."
It was as if a blockage in your throat dissolved all of a sudden. You smiled back, a sense of relief overtaking you.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sorry I panicked, too."
"It's cute. Nobody has ever…" he trailed off before shrugging. "I guess, it's because we're all men here. So none of us are used to that kind of care."
You nodded slowly at that. It really must be hard...being in this kind of household. Now that you think about it, the boys are technically orphans.
"Anyway, I have to go. I need to get back before dark. I'm not really a big fan of night drives," you said as you picked up the bag you had haphazardly thrown into the sink in your panic earlier. Jeno simply watched you silently from where he stood.
"Make sure to be careful next time alright? Don't give anyone a heart attack again," you smiled before finally excusing yourself out. He smiled back and gave a nod of goodbye as you closed the door.
Jeno turned to the mirror in front of him and slowly touched the part of his neck where your fingers grazed earlier. It was cold now from the antiseptic you had rubbed, but he could still remember how good the warmth of your touch felt against his skin when you were trying to wash the blood away. He curled his fingers slightly over the area now, leaving half moon marks as his nails dug there.
Oh what he would do to have you touch him again.
-------
"Pretty neat, huh?" You grinned at Jaehyun as he parked the car in front of the manor. You watched as your boyfriend's eyes moved over the impressive facade of the structure in front of him, knowing full well that his architect training is kicking in.
"Not bad. Victorian-era, probably. The stones look old but the place looks pretty well-kept…"
You grinned to yourself now as you leaned back on your seat. Of course you have absolutely no reason to be proud of something you don't own, but you can't help but boast a little at your boyfriend. It is your workplace after all.
Jaehyun turned to his seat now to give you a slightly guilty smile. He sighed before reaching out for your hand.
"Are you sure you will be okay though? I'm sorry about borrowing your car all of a sudden, the timing is just so bad."
You gave his hand a squeeze before patting it with your other. He was supposed to go on a three day business trip away from the city when his car, all of a sudden, just wouldn't start this morning. He wouldn't make it if he waits for the shop to fix it so the both of you decided to just have him use yours for now. At least he has enough time to drive you to work, which is why the two of you now are parked outside the manor, 10 minutes before your first lesson has to start.
"Don't worry about it. I'll make sure to pick up your car later. I'll have the taxi drive me there."
Jaehyun glanced back at the mansion briefly.
"Are you sure you can get a taxi here though? This is pretty far off the main road…"
Well...to be honest, you weren't even really sure about that yourself but he didn't have to worry about it right now. You nodded and reached over for your bag with a smile.
"Yes. Or I'll just ask Taeyong for help if I can't get one. I'm pretty sure they have some taxi companies in contact."
Jaehyun still didn't look convinced but gave you a small nod nevertheless. His eyes were back to studying the house again which made you chuckle.
"Jae, I'll be fine. You have to go now or you'll be late to your conference. Thanks for driving me here," picking up the last of your things, you leaned over to give him a quick peck on the cheeks. He responded by pulling you over for a slightly longer kiss when you tried to move away.
"Yah, Jung Jaehyun. We'll both be late if you don't stop," you whispered softly with an amused tone. He laughed before finally letting you pull back.
"Just getting my fill of it since I won't see you in three days. Call me once you get home later, okay?"
"Mmn. Take care, too. Go get that deal closed," you gave him a wink before finally opening the passenger seat. You watched as he finally pulled away from the driveway and waited until he disappeared again on the long winding road before turning towards the manor again. You were almost at the front steps when the doors finally opened, spilling Haechan, Renjun, and Jaemin out of them. You frowned slightly as you took notice of the canvases they were carrying as you approached the group.
"Hey...are you going somewhere? Class is about to start." You asked curiously, eyes landing finally on the small leather bag that Renjun was carrying. It seems to be full of art supplies.
"We're doing a free art class today, right noona?" The eldest of the trio asked. You nodded, still a bit confused.
"Renjun suggested we do it in the garden since the weather is nice today," Jaemin finally said. "We think it'll be a nice change from the stuffy rooms inside," he slightly jerked his head back at the wide windows of the manor which are currently shut back with thick curtains. You glanced at them briefly too before nodding slowly in understanding.
"Oh… I mean… It's not a bad idea. We can have the first session outside while the sun is still bearable, I guess."
That made Jaemin, and most especially Renjun smile. The boy can be withdrawn most of the time, but you did notice that he looks happiest whenever you do creative classes.
"Thank you, noona."
"No problem. I'll just put my bag inside and then I'll follow you. Why don't you set up your things first?"
You've taken a couple of steps towards the front door already when Haechan suddenly spoke up.
"Who was with you, noona?"
That froze you on your tracks. Slowly, you turned to face the trio again. They saw Jaehyun drive off?
"Oh, that was my boyfriend. He dropped me off today," you said casually with a smile. Haechan leaned his head a little bit to the side in curiosity.
"But he took your car…"
"Yes, he did. His broke down so he had to borrow mine. He's leaving for a three-day trip so—" you stopped all of a sudden, realizing that you're explaining things too much. There's nothing wrong about what you said but there was still a part of you that made you feel a little...exposed. Jaemin, Haechan, and Renjun, fortunately, didn't seem to notice and continued to politely look at you.
"Anyway, I'll just grab a cab to go home," you continued with a smile. "There are some who stop by here, right?"
"Yes. Or we can just ask Taeyong-hyung to drive you. He is the only one who has a license among us," Jaemin offered with a casual shrug.
"Ah, maybe I'll have to bother him this one time if I can't get a cab," you said with a sheepish smile. "Okay, I do have to bring my things inside. I'll see you."
You have already reached the top of the steps before the double doors when you finally realized something. Quickly you turned to the three boys who were just about to disappear to the side of the house leading to the manicured gardens.
"Wait, where's Jeno?"
It was Jaemin who answered.
"Oh yeah. He can't come. He is on bed rest."
You frowned.
"What happened?"
Haechan snickered which caused Renjun to shoot him a reprimanding look.
"He got into a hunting accident," the boy explained as he barely tried to keep his lips from twitching with amusement. "He was foolish enough to get stabbed in the chest by a stag."
-----
You gave the oak wood door a few light taps before drawing your hand back to yourself. You still weren't sure if this is a good idea, and yet here you are standing outside Jeno's room, the expansive hallway making you feel too small and out of place. This is the first time you've been in this part of the mansion since you only ever roamed the lower floors for your classes, and you couldn't help but feel a little strange at the heaviness of the air clinging around you now.
Maybe it's because it is where the private quarters of the boys are, but the corridor was only slightly illuminated by dimmed lighting from the lamps on the walls. Everything was silent, and for a moment you wondered if you got the wrong door that Taeyong gave directions to when you told him you wanted to check on Jeno. You have already taken a step back and was about to turn away when you heard some rustling from inside the room. It was followed by a voice muffled by the thick wood separating you from the other side of the door.
"Come in."
You froze on your spot for a few seconds before finally managing to shake yourself to open the door before you slowly. Peering around it, the first thing you noticed was how big the room was—it looked more like a smaller section of a house than a private quarters. It was dark, but a quick look at it told you that it was mostly bare if you don't count the essentials, which is a simple desk by the side, a long couch, and, in the middle, a four poster bed.
Your eyes landed on Jeno who was looking at you with equal mild surprise. He was propped against the headboard of his bed, the light from the laptop on his lap illuminating his face. You noticed that he didn't have a shirt on, but most of his skin from the right shoulder down to his chest was covered by bandages.
"Hi," you smiled, suddenly feeling conscious now as you stepped into his room.
"Um. Hi. What are you…"
"I heard that you were injured so I just dropped by to check on you," you quickly answered to diffuse any awkwardness that is in danger of settling between the two of you. Jeno blinked, as if processing what you just said.
"Uh… sorry, I didn't realize that I might be disturbing you. I can also just go back another time and—"
"No," He said all of a sudden before you could excuse yourself. Quickly, he closed his laptop and put it away on his side. "You can stay for a bit."
"Oh...great. I uh…" your eyes roamed around his room once again, hoping to find a chair that is closer to his bed. There was none. You figured the couch was the only place you could go to so you started walking towards it, Jeno's eyes on you.
"You can sit here," he suddenly said and you looked up to see him pointing at the foot of his bed. That made you stop before glancing again at the couch at the farther side of his room, something which he immediately noticed.
"It's too far away. It'll be awkward for us to talk if you sit there,” he said, as if he read your mind.
That...makes sense. With a slight nod, you closed the distance between you and the bed instead and chose to sit by its far end.
Jeno was back to watching you as you settled down, his expression curious. You softly cleared your throat.
"How are you feeling?"
He glanced down his chest briefly. "Oh, I'm fine. It didn't hurt as much during the weekend, but I was still told to stay in bed. I can't really move that much yet."
"What happened anyway?"
He scratched the back of his head almost sheepishly and looked away.
"I was trying to hunt a deer. I didn't know its mate was just around the area when I approached it so...yeah."
You winced as your eyes fell on his bandaged chest. You know next to nothing about hunting, but you know enough that an angry stag doesn't spell good news for anyone. Things could have been more serious for him.
"Are you sure that you shouldn't be in the hospital though?"
"Yes. We have a private doctor anyway. I just need to make sure I don't move too much to keep my wound from opening. And I also hate hospitals so I prefer to stay here…"
"You have to be more careful next time, okay Jeno? The forest is such a dangerous place…" you sighed before shifting your attention towards the window at the far wall of his room. He only had his curtains partially open but you could still see a sliver of the woods from where you sat.
Something about what you said shifted something in him. You missed it entirely thanks to the shadows from the room's dim lighting that masked his features, but it was there, hiding in plain sight.
"You take care of us so well."
You turned to him again as you heard him whisper something.
"What?"
Jeno simply smiled. He leaned back against the headboard, as if mulling over something.
"Since noona is worried about me, can you help me change my bandages?"
You blinked. That wasn't something you expected him to ask at all. Before, you figured Jeno to be one of the more withdrawn among the brothers, always with this air of intimidation about him, but lately, he has been throwing you off with these kinds of moments. He isn't flirty like Jaemin or sly and playful like Haechan, but he’s just so...direct. Almost pushy, sometimes.
"I uhm… I don't know. I wouldn't know how to do it, maybe I can call someone and—"
You watched as he already started to undo the bandages on his torso, your eyes growing wide as he started to expose more skin.
"Jeno wait, I think we should call Taeyong for thi—oh my god."
Your words were cut off when he finally let the last of the bandages fall to reveal the cut on his torso. It started from his right chest, a few inches above the collarbone, and ran sideways to the middle where it cut off. Stitches held the skin together, and you could see the darkening sides of the flesh where it broke.
Yet it wasn't only that which caught your attention. Despite the dimness of the room, you could see other marks in his body, old scars that adorned his pale skin here and there. They varied in length and thickness, and you couldn't figure out what might have caused them. Were they from hunting accidents too…?
You immediately turned to look away. You didn't want to seem rude for staring. Jeno, however, seemed unbothered, if not mildly amused. Watching you through hooded eyes, he let you squirm for a little bit first before finally calling for your attention once more.
"Noona."
"Yes?"
"Help me, please?"
The tone he used on you finally made you turn with a slight wince, which only made him chuckle.
"You're not used to seeing injuries?"
"I'm not fond of them. I don't think anyone is."
“So let's get this over with then. I just need you to hold one side of the bandage for me while I wrap it again. It's hard when I do it alone."
You were about to open your mouth to say something again but chose to purse your lips after in the end. With a soft sigh, you finally picked yourself up from your spot by the foot of the bed to move closer to him. Jeno had already uncapped what looked to be a bottle of antiseptic at this point and had started to dab gently at his cut. You tried to watch without wincing too much as he tried to do the job, but it was probably too painful for him to move too much because he was missing a lot of it.
"Hey, just give me that. I'll do it," you asked as you gently took the cotton pad from him. Jeno wordlessly let you take it, eyes closely watching you as you ducked a little to clean his wound. You tried your best to keep your eyes on target, not allowing them to move anywhere else…
"It looks so bad… I'm surprised you can still move…" you whispered, more to yourself than to him as you frowned over it. You completely missed the way the corners of Jeno's lips ever so slightly tilted as your fingers brushed against his skin.
"Your fiance must have never gotten injured before, noona."
Your hand froze at what he said. Slowly, you looked up at him, only to see him smile at you.
"How did you…"
"Oh, Taeyong-hyung told us. He just reminded us to be nice to you or else you might quit. He said you are saving up for your wedding."
You didn't say anything at first after his explanation. There's nothing wrong about it, and it seems very in-character for Taeyong to say that since he seems to be the most worried about the possibility of you quitting. Still, you couldn't help the odd feeling that tugged at your chest, one you tried to shove back as you turned your attention again to what you were doing just so you could escape Jeno's gaze.
"Well… yes. I am saving up for it. But I also enjoy my time here… so far…"
Jeno smiled to himself as he looked down on you, eyes watching your every move.
"We'll behave too, we promise," he said softly that you almost didn't catch it.
"Until then, I'm sure your boyfriend wouldn't mind us borrowing you from him."
----
"Jisung! Chenle! Don't run too far into the forest, okay?" Taeyong called out to the two boys who have already turned on their tails and have started running towards the woods. You watched as the two laughed and pushed at each other playfully before finally disappearing into the forest edge.
Taeyong sighed beside you and let the hands he had on his hips fall to his sides. You turned to him and he gave you an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry for suddenly asking you to watch over them. I totally forgot that I had to drive the rest to their dentist appointment today," he said with a scratch of his head. You simply shook a hand at him to wave him off.
"Don't worry about it. I don't have any other classes today anyway so I'll just wait here for them. But... uh... are you sure that it is safe for them to play there?"
"Yes. As long as they stay in the right zones. There are parts there where some wild animals might roam around this season but Jisung and Chenle already know that, don't worry. It won't be the first time they'll be going there too. They've been playing there since they were kids."
You nodded slowly, still a little bit unsure as your gaze floated over to the woods once more. If it were you, you wouldn't let them go near it, especially after what happened to Jeno.
"I'll have to go then. I promise I'll be back by 5. Then I can drive you back to town after."
You turned to look at Taeyong once more and gave him a grateful smile. You usually would have declined the offer under normal circumstances, but you honestly think it will be easier and safer for you to just have him take you back later.
"Thank you. I appreciate that."
The other nodded before giving you one last smile. Turning around, you watched him go to the car where Haechan, Renjun, and Jaemin were already waiting. Jeno was still in bed rest, so he is skipping the impromptu trip this time.
You only turned back to look at the woods ahead when you finally saw the black sedan disappear down the road. The forest looked foreboding in front of you, one look at it and you know there is no way you'll venture there in your own free will. With a sigh, you picked up the book you've brought with you and let yourself take a seat by the grass as you wait for Jisung and Chenle to return.
A sudden sharp caw that tore the air made you look up in surprise from the current chapter you were reading. You didn't have any idea how much time had already passed after you lost yourself in your book, but you were surprised to see that the sky had gone red over the horizon as a flock of crows soared from the depths of the forest. You watched as they circled just above the trees before finally disappearing far into the sky. That was when you realized it; it's been a while since Jisung and Chenle left.
With panic slowly creeping into your chest, you glanced at your watch then back at the mansion behind you. Taeyong didn't say anything about a curfew for the two kids, but your own sense told you that the pair should be back before night falls. Your gut told you that you should start looking for them, but the problem is that there is still more than half an hour left before Taeyong said they will return and the only other person left in the manor was Jeno—who can't even get out of bed.
You swallowed. Before you could make any decision, however, a bone-chilling sound floated into the air that made your blood turn cold. It was faint at first, making you wonder if it was just your imagination playing tricks on you, but then it called out again, and you felt your heart drop to your stomach.
It was Chenle. Screaming.
You broke into a run without a second thought.
It took you everything you have not to topple over the uneven forest floor as you wove through the trees. You have no idea where you were going, your mind and vision reeling as you tried to follow the voice. Your skirt have caught countless times on shrubberies and wayward tree barks as you tore through the woods but you kept going, not minding the tears on the fabric and the skin of your legs.
"Chenle! Jisung! Where are you!"
You called out desperately when the cries suddenly stopped. You were only barely aware of your heart thundering in your chest and your lungs burning from overexertion.
No. No. Don't stop screaming. I can't find you if you do.
"Chenle! Jisung!" You called out again desperately as you stopped at the edge of what seemed to be a small patch of land that dropped off to a ravine. The trees beyond were denser than the ones at the edge of the forest and the already fading light of the day wasn't helping the thick canopies above you that rained shadows on where you stood. You looked around and swallowed thickly. Something inside of you told you to turn around and run again but you stayed frozen on your spot, waiting for any sound from the kids.
It took you a few more heartbeats to pick up something again. Jisung's voice sounded far off to your right, maybe about 15 meters from where you currently are.
"Noona! Help! Chenle fell down!"
Your adrenaline jumped into action again.
"Jisung?! Jisung! Wait—Is Chenle with you?” A soft voice called out and you breathed in as you recognized the latter's tone. “I'm coming! Don't stop calling for me, okay, so I can find you!"
You were about to turn away from the edge of the steep ravine you were still standing on when you felt your back hit something hard. Before you could even turn around to look at it, however, a blunt force hitting the middle of your shoulder blades sent you toppling forward, straight into the sharp fall beyond.
You screamed, before everything went quiet as your head hit the bedrock below.

spin the bottle pt. 3
prompt: you play spin the bottle, part 3. pairings: albedo x gn!reader, mona x gn!reader, keqing x gn!reader word count: ~1.5k tags: kissing, very suggestive themes, light teasing a/n: you can find part one here and part two here!
minors dni.
you spin the bottle at a party. it lands on...
albedo
he wasn’t even paying attention. instead, he had a pen and notebook and was sketching something. you tap his arm to get him to notice the bottle.
“oh right, the game,” he replies simply before leaning toward you, giving you a small peck on the cheek before going back to his drawing.
wait, what? you weren’t expecting a small peck like that. no way, you wanted more of a kiss than that from such a cute guy! you whine and pout, uncaring how selfish you were sounding - you wanted a kiss on the lips from him and you were going to get it!
he can’t hide his little smirk and snicker, “oh you were hoping for more? how interesting.” he closes his notebook, taking your chin in his hands as he looks at you with a gleam in his eyes, “i guess i’ll give you what you want then, greedy little thing.”
now that he got his results from a little peck on the cheek, it was time to get results from a longer, more passionate kiss. he leans in to initiate but stops before your lips meet, analyzing your expression. you scowl, pressing your lips to his and he chuckles at your impatience.
he hums against you, eyes watching you carefully as he slips his tongue into your mouth. his taste, well, you can’t quite put your finger on it, it’s a very intricate taste that you’ve never had in your mouth before.
his tongue prods around, exploring every little inch of what it was given, and you couldn’t help but wonder if his tongue would do the same in... other areas.
when the kiss finishes, he flips to a new page in his notebook, writing something.
“what are you writing down?” you can’t help but wonder out loud.
“your reaction to kissing and how naughty you are, wanting more.” you felt your cheeks heat up, but he wasn’t wrong, you did want a kiss on the lips. yet, you still wanted more than that with the thought of his tongue exploring your body still on your mind...
after the game finishes, he shows you his notebook and what he was working on. it’s a drawing of you.
he says as soon as he laid eyes on you he couldn’t help but draw you for you were far too beautiful to not be a part of his sketchbook. you blusha at the kind sentiment and tell him you enjoyed his kiss, even the little bit of teasing that was involved.
he chuckles, saying he enjoyed the kissing experiment you both partook in as well. he added in a low tone that he wouldn’t mind conducting more experiments later with you, but fewer clothes would be required for what he had in mind. you know. for science.
you would never do something to harm the progress of science so of course you quickly agree to his request.
you don’t even recall how many experiments you end up helping him with that night in his room.
mona
mona recites something about how the stars showed her that when you spun the bottle it would pick her but that kissing you wouldn’t be a good idea because of your conflicting signs along with other excuses including, “the stars. can’t do it. not today.”
but when she glances at you and sees your saddened look she quickly stammers over her words before admitting defeat and agreeing to the kiss. she looks very embarrassed, her cheeks turning red and her hands, which were resting on her lap, were clenched into fists.
feeling bad for her, you decide to only give her a small kiss and move on, but when you try to pull away she pushes forward, locking your lips once more in a sloppy, wet kiss.
you’ve never had a messier kiss. your lips would part to allow her inside your mouth and then she’d let you into hers, both of you eager for a taste. gasps of air were the only other sound besides a few soft, muffled moans as neither you nor she would let the other pull away.
eventually, you both end up on the floor, her on top of you. she ran a hand through your hair as you wrap your hands around her waist before bringing them down to her ass for a squeeze, causing her to smirk against your mouth.
finally, you end the kiss, the need for oxygen too grand, a string of saliva still connecting you both before it broke. that’s when you realize the other two that agreed to play had left you and her alone.
well, now that the game was apparently over, you ask if she’d like to leave and get some better food elsewhere together.
she looks a little sad suddenly and mutters that she doesn’t have any money on her.
you pause for a moment, taken by surprise, and you tell her that her company is more than any amount of money and that you’d pay for her and she didn’t have to worry about paying you back.
she suddenly looks like she’s about to burst into tears from your offer. you worry that you were too forward.
she jumps off you and, before you even realize what’s happening, she starts dragging you by your hand out of the party, talking about what food she’s going to order.
while out eating she admits that she was really lying earlier and the readings she conducted said you and her would meet at the party and be completely compatible and a perfect match but she was nervous since she hadn’t kissed nor been with anyone in a long time.
she then starts talking about tomorrow’s date, which you hadn’t even realized was happening until now.
she says she’s glad the stars like you because she’s enjoying her time with you a lot.
and you’re glad both she and the stars like you, too.
keqing
the fact she’s even at the party still boggles everyone’s mind since her high-profile job never allowed her any free time. yet here she was, a rare break in her schedule allowing her to attend.
but you noticed she didn’t seem very comfortable in such a setting. a few times she tried to recite rules to the partygoers, things like you can’t be too loud after a certain time and how it’s important to not leave litter lying about, etc. this caused them to whisper behind her back in quiet mocks. she was actually about to leave before you asked her to play spin the bottle, and she decided a quick party game before she left would be alright for memories.
as the bottle comes to a stop, pointing towards her, a shocked expression crosses her face before she glances away, her cheeks pinkening.
little did you know, she had already planned exactly how the kiss would go should the bottle land on her. she knew what she would do, right down to her hand position and tongue placement. she had seen others make out before and read books a few times involving couples, so she felt confident.
she doesn’t waste any time, per usual for her since she’s so efficient.
she takes your hand in hers and pulls you toward her, your lips crashing together.
but, as soon as your lips touch a little shock zaps you both, causing you to yank back in surprise. she bites the bottom of her lip, wide-eyed.
the stress of the party and the many, many people, all surprised by her appearance, all watching her, talking about her, along with the kiss not ending up how she wanted, all of it causes her confident façade to crumble. her lip quivers as she mumbles an apology, upset that, since she’s arrived, all she’s done is mess things up. she tries to leave, but you take her hand in yours and ask her to not go just yet, that’d you miss her company.
she pauses for a moment before sitting back down, hiding her face in her hands.
you gently rub the tight, overworked muscles in the back of her neck, and she looks at you with appreciation. your hand slides to the side of her face where you caress her, your thumb gently wiping away a few tears. she was so beautiful, even with such a sorrowful look.
she sniffs, still smiling, and asks in a quiet tone, “can we try again?”
the second time around, everything went right. the kiss was just a small, sweet kiss, yet it was special in its own, simple way.
once your lips part from each other, she presses her forehead against yours happily and the crazy environment surrounding you two seems to disappear for a few moments.
afterward, she rests her head on your shoulder and you wrap an arm around her. you two stay like that for a while, the sounds of the chaotic party dulled by the comfort of one another.
“want to come see the work i do for the city tomorrow?” she asks you.
“sure, i’m free. is it... a date?”
she smiles up at you with a flushed expression but doesn’t answer you. guess you’d just have to wait and see what tomorrow brought.
